Yeah. Yeah. They're very, they're very sleazy.
But the Venus, as you can see, they're in gray and black.
The coosies and we have what is what else is that up there that I can't see?
Oh, okay.
Both the coosies.
Okay.
All right, guys, let's get into this game because Saquon Barkley went off 26 carries
Ocho 255 yards,
two touchdowns.
That's the most rushing yards in a single game
in Eagles history.
That's the ninth most rushing yards in NFL history.
He had two runs of 70 or more yards.
He has that kind of ability.
That's what you get when you get a say, Juan.
And if you ask me and you're asking me,
this team looks better than the team that went to the Super Bowl because of 2-6 in the backfield.
If you look at their defense, you look at that defensive line, you look at Jaylen Carter,
you look at Sweatt, you look at Williams, you look at those Brandon Graham, they could attack,
they're attacking the quarterback.
They don't give up nearly the big plays that they gave up last year.
They don't give up nearly the points that they gave up last year and running
back.
Let me give you some, I'll feel you in on something.
I don't know if you watch film or not, but when 17 comes, you better go to him
because he goes sit you on your ass.
If you sit there and try to catch him, he's going to run you over.
Yeah. You better close the distance. Let me tell you something. I don't know if you're running ass. If you sit there and try to catch him, he gonna run you over. Yeah.
You better close the distance.
Let me tell you something,
I don't know if you're running back,
coaches told you this.
You better shut down the distance.
You letting him get ahead of steam
and you try to catch him,
he gonna sit you in the quarterback's lap.
Every time.
Close the distance.
Don't give him a two way go and sell out.
That's the only way.
But if you let him get ahead of steam and you
try to catch him, he's going to sit in the quarterback's lap.
Oh, Joe, the Eagles look really, really good. They look really good for the very
simple reason. Defense is playing much better. A.J. Brown is still him. They got
guys that can make the tight end. But really good. But it's two six. He's a
difference maker. Yeah, he's a. But if you see, did you see what they did? Oh Joe,
then Jaylen hurts through the ball 22 times. They ran in 45,
I know another team. Yeah. They got a very similar situation. Yeah.
But they want to do the flip. Yeah. And then Baltimore,
you can go get the guy, you can go get your quarterback, the MVP and be home,
or you can have an opportunity to be
playing in the Super Bowl the choice is yours take off Ocho what did you like about what you saw with
the Eagles? Man obviously when you're running the ball like they did tonight when St. Quentin doing
what he's doing hitting his head off the goal post two runs at 70 yards or better you don't have to
throw the ball that much you know you have to you have to dish it as much as you can to keep AJ Brown happy. Keep the tight end happy, you know, still run your offense.
But it takes so much pressure off.
Jalen hurts when Saquon Barking and do some of the things he does.
And listen, every time we come on here, we talk about Saquon Barking and what he's
been able to do this season.
I always come back and ask you and say the same thing every time.
What the fuck with the giant? Oh, shoot, I'm sorry.
My bad. Oh, Joe.
Say, I was going to be safe.
He couldn't do this because their quarterback is in jail and hurts.
You need a competent guy because I'm going to stack the box.
See, I can't stack the box with hurts because I got I got a you still got the A.J.
and you have Devante who was out and I got Jalen Hurts, who's a competent
quarterback who can throw the ball.
So fake one is going gonna be Saquon
Don't get me wrong. So don't people that what?
Listen to what I'm saying
He can't be this effective because you because they're gonna stack the box because I don't believe your quarterback can beat me
I believe Saquon can beat me now. What do you do? Oh Joe you play a lightbox
He gonna go for 255. Right.
Play a try to try to sneak somebody down there.
Now you got AJ working one on one.
You got Devontae working one on one.
And you got the tight end, Garter, and you got the other tight end.
So you can't do that.
So but he's going to be Ocho.
You know, he's on pace to break the NFL record.
He's not on pace to run for 21 51.
The NFL record is 21 05.
That's how good he is.
You know, he's he's he's been he's been everything.
I know they thought they would go get
this kind of guy because he has something to prove.
He like, oh, y'all don't want me.
Well, let me go to take let me go to take this.
Fifteen, sixteen hundred yards.
I'll take it on the field.
Listen, you got to understand.
You know, he has that kind of chip on his shoulder.
For one, you don't want to pay me. Not only that. Not only you don't want to pay me,
your franchise tagged me and you let me and you're basically telling me, you know, we don't think
you have any values for us, especially for a long-term contract. He definitely got a chip
on his goddamn shoulder. He definitely do. Now another thing on the back end of that,
I don't think the Eagles defense is playing so well last year. Remember, they started 10 and one.
Yes, previous season.
And then I don't know what happened.
The goddamn barrel fell out the goddamn bottom.
The bottom of the barrel fell out last last year.
From a defensive perspective, as far as tackling.
Big plays this year is completely different.
They're playing completely different.
I'm not sure what they're doing different defensively as far as the play called the
play called the concern.
Obviously there are new pieces, new pieces to the ball that are part of their defense.
But with Saquon Barkley, I think they have an opportunity probably to get back, probably
to get back to the Superbowl, especially if they go on a playoff run.
They got to go through the lions.
Yeah.
Yeah.
That's the one problem. But again, Saquon Barkley takes so much pressure off of Jaylin Hurst, man.
He's having a phenomenal season.
Phenomenal season.
Vic Fangio, who's the new DC, is doing a great job.
Vic likes to play cover two.
What you can play cover two when you got those dogs, you got the front seven that can stop
and run.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
And your safety don't have to get involved
so you don't have to sacrifice your back end.
And so now you got Carter, you got Sweatt,
you got Graham, you got Williams, you got Davis,
you got a defensive line that's dominated.
Jalen Carter didn't have a sack tonight,
but you saw the constant double team.
Now you get Sweatt gets one on one.
Now you get Graham gets one on one. You get Williams who had two s get Sweatt gets one on one. Now you get Graham gets one on one.
You get Williams who had two sack, he gets one on one.
Davis is hogging up and doing a great job
of taking on blockers in the running game.
N'Kobe Dean is all over the field.
Zach Braun, who's a name that doesn't,
he's not hereditary, he doesn't get mentioned
like Fred Warner or B. Wags.
But that joker, whoo, watched him.
Watch him, when you watch the Eagles, tell me 53 don't jump off the tape at you. Warner or B Wags, but that Joker who watched him watching.
When you watch the Eagles, tell me 53 don't jump off the tape.
Tell me don't jump off. You're like, damn.
Every time the greatest compliment I can give him, oh, Joe, that's a hard playing
Jesse man, boy, he's all over the field.
Boy, he all over the field.
That's a hard playing, Jesse.
They're boy. Yeah, I like that.
Woo.
But this team in my eyes, they look better than the team because they got 26.
The team that went to the Superbowl and they ended up losing. They played really well.
This team looks better because of two six.
They got a guy now you can hand him the ball and they can hit his head on the
goalpost from anywhere on the field
Anywhere and you can give it to him 25 30 times and if you give it to him that many times
He's gonna get you one one twenty one fifty as we saw tonight
255 and he made it look easy
Now you playing without one of the best to do one of the best be receivers and football in Devante
You playing without one of the best two, one of the best B receivers in football in Devante.
AJ, you know what AJ is. He's a big physical receiver that can play through contact, tremendous run after the catch, and he's a lot faster than you think because he can get behind
you. The Eagles look better in my eyes than what they look when they won the Super Bowl, Ocho.
Yeah. And I mean, you know, the most the most important part the most important part for me
Not really for me for them is how you gonna look and how you gonna play on the back half of the season after Thanksgiving
Can it be healthy?
Bingo, we've seen Devontae getting it. He's out. Yeah hamstring. We saw AJ miss some time hamstring
Can they be healthy because that's what it is at some point time
Oh Joe, you know as it gets late in the season, it becomes the
war of attrition.
Who, what team is the healthiest?
Maybe not the best team, which team has the better health?
And that's all that matters.
Because if you start losing key players at the most inopportune of times, it's hard to
beat these top tier teams.
The likelihood of you beating the Lions without one of your two best players
in the likelihood of you beating the Eagles without one of your two best players
or Green Bay, we're starting to see Green Bay start to get it going.
So the NFC is about to get really, really interesting.
We thought the AFC we see Buffalo, we see Kansas City, we see B more
Pittsburgh, even though they had a tough loss on Thursday. The charges don't they don't discount the city. We see Be More, Pittsburgh, even though they had a a tough loss on Thursday.
Charges don't, hey, don't discount the
charges. Hey, you saw my Broncos, huh?
Hey, don't look that. Don't
look that. Don't. No, no, no, no,
don't do that. I'm asking you, what team
did you just say? Broncos,
my Broncos. Oh,
they was alright. The Bengals,
we on a bye week.
The only way y'all don't lose, that's the only way you can't lose you on the back and the back took y'all over time
You look really good they got after they got after the Rams they get they got after Stafford they sacked him five times
They get they got after Stafford. They sacked him five times.
Kyron Williams had a costly turnover early.
But look, this was about the Eagles.
This wasn't about the Rams.
Because I think the Rams are OK.
The D.O. thought they had a chance to get to the Super Bowl.
I never thought that because I didn't think they had they didn't have enough
depth on either side of the football inside.
Yeah. OK.
Oh, before before before you go like that Ram defense,
they got them to got them to rookies verse and Fisk on they, on they,
the real deal. Who would you want verse verse? Oh yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
Yo, the number zero. Yeah. Yeah. He ran, he ran slap. Oh my lot of my lot of six,
eight, three, what? Three 33, three, four. Listen,
I know they might've lost tonight.
Them two rookies from Florida State,
first and fifths are the real deal.
Oh yeah, oh yeah, yeah.
They popped out on film all year long.
Now I know it didn't do any justice tonight
based on what the Eagles and Saquon were able to do,
but they gonna be all right.
As far as winning the Super Bowl,
maybe not, maybe not this year.
And I don't know what they're going to do offensively, especially with Cup
and in Puka, you know, you would think because once they got back healthy,
it would give you an opportunity, you know, to challenge or compete in that
in the NFC, but just hasn't panned out that way, even though both of those
both of those dudes are healthy.
They got some promise on that.
They got some promise on that goddamn defense.
I'll tell you that. Yeah. Versus number eight.
Excuse me.
I said zero number eight.
I think the biggest thing is Ocho also,
the offensive line is hard.
I mean, you give him a little time.
I mean, sometime I said you got to give him all day,
but I mean, soon as he go back, his back foot hit,
somebody hit him in the back of the head.
Brandon Graham left this game.
So it's going to be interesting to see.
Do we have a, what is his injury update is?
Because he another, that's a pass rusher.
That's a guy that can put pressure one-on-one when they doubling Carter, or they
try to kick the protection of sweat.
Here's a guy that can win one-on-one Williams can win one-on-one.
All these guys can win the one-on-one.
You can't double everybody.
No.
And you can't keep constantly keep your tight end. You're back in the block.
We don't have an update on Brandon Graham, but hopefully it's something that,
uh, that's not very serious. Oh Joe,
say Kwan had 302 total yards tonight. The Giants had 245 today.
We're going to, we're going to talk, we're going to talk about this, Ojo.
Yeah.
Malik neighbors.
Malik neighbors say, hey, it wasn't a quarterback because you saw different quarterbacks, same
results.
Wait, he said that for?
Yeah.
Uh-oh, he hot.
They got the rookie hot over there, what?
Yeah.
Put the balls in the man's hands, man.
Yeah. We don't know. Hopefully, before we leave leave we can give you an update on Brandon Graham's injury
Uh, I don't want to report was big
You know what with fans are jumping in the chat and saying so hopefully if there's something that will somebody Adam Scheffer or somebody will report
Or maybe even the Eagles when um, it's mixed area on and steps to the podium. Oh
when um, Nick Sarion steps to the podium.
Oh, Brandon Graham is out for the season. Tourist tricep.
God damn.
Hey there, it's Michael Lewis, author of Going Infinite, Moneyball, The Blind Side, and Liar's Poker. On every season of my podcast Against the Rules, I take a broad look at various characters
in American life.
The referee.
The coach.
The expert.
My next season is all about fans and what the rise of sports betting is doing to them,
to the teams, and even to my family.
I'm heading to Las Vegas and New Jersey and beyond to understand America's newest form
of legalized gambling.
Listen to Against the Rules on the iHeartRadio app, Apple podcasts,
or wherever you listen to podcasts.
Game that got very, very interesting, Ocho. The the Cowboys beat the commanders to snap a five game losing streak
by the score of 30, 40, 26 in the last two minutes and 49 seconds.
There was a 99.
There was a bobble kick return.
Hey, Devante Turpin, Kevante Turpin, excuse me, picks the ball up
and goes 99 yards for touchdown.
Oh, that's the ball game.
No, the commander says not so fast.
Jayden Daniels says, I believe I have one more miracle in me
and it might not be a Hail Mary, but I got a pass for you.
Oh yeah.
He finds a McClellan, Terry McClellan.
Yeah.
86 yard touchdown.
Ocho, we going to overtime.
The kicker comes on the snapper.
There's a, because here's the thing, Ocho, people think it's just the pressure on the kicker. There's a pressure on the snapper. There's because here's the thing, oh, Joe, people think it's just the pressure
on the kicker. There's a pressure on the snapper.
Oh, down.
And you see it kind of threw it through his timing on
because the ball was a little low and the holder, he bobbed it a little bit.
And it wasn't even close.
Reminded me that I remember thinking, oh, Charles, thank you to myself.
You remember when the Saints, they ladder,
let the ball all the way down the field against Jacksonville,
got the touchdown and then Mr.
P a T that would have tied the game. Yeah. Well, that's a heart.
That's a heartbreaking way to lose a game.
You've done all of that 86 yard. The crowd is an frenzy.
Your sideline is in the friends frenzy.
And then it's just so anticlimactic that you shank the PAT.
Now you come back in, Ocho, we go on side it.
Dallas scoops down on side up and goes in for a touchdown.
I'll let you.
I mean, go ahead.
How do I say this?
Go ahead. How do I say this?
The snapper, the holder and the kicker,
they go through the same routine constantly all week, all week.
If it's repetition, repetition, repetition, repetition, repetition, repetition,
and especially when it comes to a game like this, where the game is on the line
and it's on your hands and it's on your and it's on your foot.
You got one job. Yep. I don't care. You got you got one job.
The game of football is a game of inches.
There are very few plays even out of 75, maybe one, two, maybe three plays at best.
That makes a difference in the game.
And when the opportunity comes, you have to take advantage of those opportunities.
And tonight, they missed the opportunity to give themselves the chance to win a game against
a Cowboys team that has been playing for-
You could have buried them.
You win this game, if Washington wins this game, they buried the Cowboys.
Their season is over.
Ain't no coming back.
You're three, eight, you got six games to go.
I believe your season is over.
Because the Cowboys, they still got to go to Philly. I don't believe they're beating Philly in Philly. Come on now.
So you could have ended the Cowboys season.
Now, yeah, but Jayden Daniels prior to that last, he had, he wasn't playing
well. He wasn't seeing the field particular well, but I want to give the
Cowboys D line some credit they got after for digging Zua
Micah he had two sacks. Yeah, they they got after the defense was flying around the Rico D'Adel They had a rushing again. Look, it wasn't great. It wasn't great
But 19 carries 86 yards caught the ball extremely well
And thank you. This was a makeshift line your right guard is out your left guard is out
And think of it, this was a makeshift line. Your right guard is out, your left guard is out.
They moved Guyton, which was a great thing
because all he does is hold, get penalties.
And even when they brought his ass in,
guess what he did, Ocho?
Got two penalties.
Yeah, right, right.
Look at him right, like what?
Ocho, you know what I hate?
I wish I owned the video board.
Soon as they throw a flag, I know they gonna look,
I'm gonna cut the video board off.
What you looking up there for?
You know what the hell you did? You held a man. That's why they threw a flag? I know they gonna look, I'm gonna cut the video board off. What you looking up there for? You know what the hell you did?
You have a man.
That's why they threw a flag on your ass.
Yeah.
They be looking up there talking about,
mm-mm, mm-mm, mm-mm, mm-mm, you did it.
Yeah, it was you.
It was you.
Yeah?
It was you.
I'm like, damn, son.
And he's talking about he don't know what.
That ain't no ho, yes it is.
But give the Cowboys credit, Ocho.
Like I said, Cooper Rush did a great job,
24-32, 247-2 touchdowns.
They ran the ball well enough to keep Washington off balance
when they just couldn't pin the ears back.
Right.
Tee Tee had 10 for 67.
Schoonmarker, I think that's his name,
they just have three for 55,
called a 24 yardyard 24-yard touchdown
But they have some guys that make some big-time plays today
And that's what you need to happen to go on the road and get that nasty taste out of your mouth
But those guys hey, they got after the quarterback
They hunted the quarterback today and they did a great job of that. They did a great job you go ahead
Yeah
I'm gonna say when you look at the Cowboys
The last the last four weeks and you look at the Cowboys tonight
Especially from a defensive standpoint
Why in the hell you look like they did thing against a division opponent as opposed to not looking like that against everybody else they've been playing
Tell me so we both know I am
Just curious I'm sitting there while I'm watching the game at the cigar bar earlier
And I'm like I'm saying to myself well but God damn, they show where it's playing well.
You know, they play well offensively. I'm talking about all three phases of the game,
whether it be defense, whether it be offense. Yeah, they was playing motherfucking good on goddamn special teams.
Well, I think you look like shit against everybody else.
They did, especially at home because they've been down by 20 points or more in the last,'s five six home games and a lot of those home games the games haven't been
close the only game that was close this year is that they came back and they
were down by 20 against Baltimore all the other games that they've lost have
been two score games but the kicker he missed a couple of day which is and he's
a very reliable kicker he had let me he has leg out of this world. Um, but other than
that, I thought defensively, this was the best game defensively. I thought overall as
an offense, they played well. They ran the ball, not great rushing numbers, Ocho, but
they ran the ball well enough to keep them off balance.
Terpyn, who's turned himself into the best returner in football. Uh, if you, and they
got him out of the world, the USF, what USf. I think they got him out of the usfl.
They got the kicker out of the, uh, the XFL of the usfl, whatever case may be.
And these guys are all pro that's turned into all pro players.
Uh, but, um, give the Cowboys credit and guys see how easy it is.
If you play good, we talk about you.
We say good things, but when you play bad, I mean, what other choice do you have?
Now I wonder if somebody's going to go on the IG and say, Hey, call me on the phone to talk good about you. We say good things, but when you play bad, I mean, what other choice do you have? Now? I wonder if somebody's
going to go on the IG and say, Hey, call me on the phone to
talk good about me. I'm just wondering. You say that's gonna
happen. Oh, Joe,
would you call you until you talk? No, no, no, no, no, no,
tweet it. No, no, go on IG, IG posts and stuff like that. You
think they're gonna say that? Oh, okay. Yeah. I didn't think so either.
CJ Shryles steps out of the back of M zone for safety
as the Titans beat the Texans 32-27.
CJ Shryles performance was a mixed bag.
He threw multiple touchdown passes for the first time
since October 13th and over a month,
but he also threw multiple interceptions
for the second time in three weeks and was sacked four times. The Texans allowed Will Levins to go 18 or 23, 273, two touchdowns,
big long touchdowns. In December, Houston faces the Dolphins, the Chiefs, and the Ravens,
who all off offenses can score in bunches. Kyle Fairbairns missed 28-yard field goal attempt
in the fourth quarter, mark gets the first the fourth field goal.
Twenty nine of your yards out of 159 attempts in NFL this season.
Two of those four misses are by Firebird.
That's just me.
Talk to me now.
What's wrong with CJ?
I don't know.
He's not playing good.
Yeah, you know, What's wrong with CJ? I don't know. He's not playing good.
Yeah, he's not. You're going to have you're going to have lows now.
You know that, right? You know, he hadn't played well this year, Ocho.
This is not a low. How many other sessions does he have now?
What do you got? You got eight, eight or seven?
Nine, nine.
Yeah, I'm off. I'm off by one.
He got 14 touchdowns, Ocho. Yeah.
Would you consider this would you consider this a softball slump?
They play 12 games.
He has 14 touchdowns.
You heard me.
Would you consider this a sophomore slump as a quarterback?
I don't know.
I guess.
Look, the thing that.
That's most impressive that you about great players, Ocho is that.
Even when they get tape on you, you still have to account for them.
See, I was very fortunate.
I played against Reggie white with three different teeth, with three different
regimes, I played him against him 92 and we circled them on the board.
I played against him in 93.
We're circling them on the board.
I played him in 96.
We circled them on the board.
I played them against them in the soup bowl in 97.
We circled them on the board.
You don't think they had film on Peyton?
Brady, Mahomes, Lamar?
And I get it, you know,
Nico missed what, four weeks with that hamstring injury?
The hamstring injury.
The old line hasn't been playing well either.
CJ Stroud, he's been getting hit a lot at at quarterback.
Getting hit a lot. He just.
I think something's off.
Something's off.
I don't know if he's injured, but something is off.
He just doesn't look as confident as he did last year. Right.
Now, the one thing that you can't do, you can't talk.
Hey, you can talk about it, but you got to go out there and be about it.
There've been a lot of great ones.
There's been a lot of guys that have one great season, Ocho.
Can you put them together?
Can you do it back to back?
Yeah.
Can you do it back to back to back?
Yeah.
Can you do it for four years?
Can you do it for five years?
Can you do it for six years?
How many times you've seen guys go have a great season,
go to the pro bowl, Ojo, be an all-Pro?
He'll be able to put it back to back.
But also if you look at the Texans
in the entirety of the season up to this point
and see why he's been throwing the interceptions.
You know, his decision-making is not as sharp
as it was last year with the ball.
Getting hit upside the head every time he dropped back. Being rushed.
Not being able to go through his progressions. You know, missing a Nico Collins.
Diggs being out. You know, there are factors that are going in why the season is going the way it is
so far this year for him, you know, from a statistical standpoint,
why it doesn't look like it did last year with the historic run he had as a rookie.
I mean, there have been some things that have happened. So, you know, he hadn't been able to
come. Me personally, Ocho, I think the digs is less because he's only been playing with it for
three months. Nico Collins, that's the guy that he has the relationship with.
That's the guy that helped him win offensive rookie of the year.
That was the Nico Collins was a pro bowl player last year.
He's a very talented young receiver.
He's tremendous, can play through contact and make tough contests to catch it.
He's great run out of the kit.
He can get behind the team.
Tankdale is another one that's played that's that's that's really good.
He only had three catches today.
And they didn't run the ball particularly well.
They only had 17 attempts.
But Tennessee's defense is good now.
They good.
Now, Will Lever sometimes puts him in harm's way.
Yeah, he turned the ball over a lot.
But you see that pick six?
Boy, I know the coach,
he wanted to put his foot in his ass.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I'm like, bro, everybody knows when they see you
line up like that.
If two people run in a slant, they know the first slant
is the clear.
The guy, he not going to go.
He going to bait you.
Mm-hmm.
It's the same thing they got Brady with in the Super Bowl.
Alfred.
Alfred.
He bait.
No, I'm not.'m gonna go right here boo
I'm gonna come and come off and go go get it
Be right here. It if I could catch it. I'm going to the house
Yeah, but if you look at Simon's and you look at some of those guys, uh, man
They can get out the quarterback now. They can get out the quarterback. Yeah
How Landry they got they got some really, really good talented players on the
defensive side of football.
You look at one kid got a tight end, caught a pass, 70 yard touchdown.
Westbrook, caught a 38 yard touchdown.
I mean, it was it was the big plays that was really killing the Texans.
And Pollard,
you got him boxed up, you got him for a four or five yard loss.
Somehow he comes out of that for a 27 yard game.
How many times did it look like they had him behind the line of scrimmage?
Oh Joe, he's getting five, six, seven yards. You got to fit.
You got to get the guy. It's not good enough to get there.
You got to get the guy on the ground. Yeah.
I mean, if you force a team to shoot the ball,
the possession doesn't end until you get the rebound.
If you force them into a bad shot and they grab the rebound,
what the hell have you done?
Well, if you get there, you got the guy hemmed up
and you don't get him on the ground
behind the line of scrimmage when you got an opportunity.
What have you done?
Texas got to make a decision. Did Texas look uh and this division
It's still up for grabs ain't it? Oh well yeah if if the Colts can put something together
No, no
The Colts look the Colts look they played the Lions
They played the Lions and Richardson made some Lions. And Richardson made some throws,
but there are some throws that he missed.
He had Pierce wide open before touchdown,
and he always shot it.
Listen, very inconsistent, huh?
Yeah.
Very inconsistent, you know, when throwing the ball,
whether it be short routes, intermediate routes,
throwing stuff that is under 12, under 12, under 12,
and five and six yards, and I'm talking about,
oh, throwing bullets.
No, no, he had learned. You can't throw everything. under 12 and five and six yards and I'm talking about throwing bullets.
You can't throw everything.
Like you got I call it I mean listen they used to say you got to be able to be a thrower of the ball. Yes.
You got to be a thrower of the ball you know there are multiple ways you can throw it man
to get it in there make it a catchable ball all the time for your receivers.
Then everything don't have to be a goddamn bullet man. Yes the Texans
offense in the second half Ocho 54 yards three points four first down never
crossed midfield and 40% pressure rate allowed. Now you see teams believe now if
we heat CJ up we can cause them some problems.
Yeah, when your offensive line is playing bad like that, you can heat them up and cause
them some problems.
Okay.
Bringing heat last year didn't work.
Bringing heat last year didn't work?
Well damn, how many offensive linemen are there without now?
Because it looked like the same offensive line.
I mean, Chad, am I off?
So who do they lose offensive line wise?
Hey. I mean, Chad, am I off? So who do they lose offensive line wise?
Hey. It's okay to see J's not playing well.
We can't, so let me ask you a question.
So Daniel Jones, we gonna put that on the offensive line?
Oh, they bad too, boy.
Okay, we gonna put that offensive line in the Jets
because we saw it with Darnal, we saw it with Zach Wilson,
now we see it with Air Rogers.
So is that the line?
So because every time a quarterback plays bad,
we can't keep blaming the line.
We can't keep shaping the blame now.
I said it himself.
He's not playing well.
He's not.
I'm not saying the offensive line, not adding to it,
but we can't place all this at the feet of the offensive line.
I said she's not playing well at all.
But I said also the officer line in their play
and allowing C.H. Stroud to continue to get hit.
Matter of fact, let me ask you a question. Yes, I'm not sure what the
stat is. What quarterback has been sacked the most in NFL?
Who's been sacked the most? Watch this. Hell, my home is up
there too. Why you bulljabbing? Did you see my home running
for his life? Yeah. I think he got sacked four or five times
today.
Yeah. I think he got sacked four or five times today.
Caleb Williams is sacked the most. Then CJ. OK.
He goes to a second. Yeah.
OK. Where's my homes?
They have my home, my home had to pick them up, put them down.
No joke. You know, he got one long run in him every game.
Listen, you know what that is, right?
You don't want to hit the quarterback,
you think he going out of bounds?
Yeah.
And everything, instead of going out of bounds,
he cut it up the field and keep on going?
Hey, well, you're going to go out of bounds
because I'm coming to knock your life out.
Because if you remember, they find, hold on, somebody, the guy was going out of bounds and I'm coming to knock your life. You got to remember they find hold on. They somebody who did that?
The guy was going out of bounds and the guy hit it and they
called a personal file.
I said, so what you think I'm supposed to let him leisurely
walk, run out of bounds.
I was, yeah, I'm trying to not block off.
The game is different.
The game is different in the quarterbacks.
Well, some quarterbacks, especially my homes,
they're taking advantage of the rules.
Yeah.
Well, I know he's not going to hit me, right?
So I'm going to get on, I'm going to bend this corner
and look like I'm going out of bounds and I'm going to stay
in and cut back in.
Yeah. Okay.
Hey.
Okay.
But, yeah, I look, it looks like they're going to win
this division and guess what?
When you win your division, guess what else?
Oh, Joe, you got a home playoff game.
Mm hmm. But if you're not careful, you'll be one and done.
Yeah, you'll be one and done
because any of those teams, any of the teams,
I mean, because guess what?
You might get Baltimore.
Is that what you really want?
Is that what you really want? In the you really want don't choke in the first round yes I don't want none of that exactly you might get
Pittsburgh is that what you want I don't want none of that either so they better
hey they got to find a way to get this thing done the Lions defeated the coach
24 to 6 the Lions have won the game again today though 24 points they put up
against the coast in Indianapolis seems a little bit pedestrian
compared to some of the recent weeks.
They've won nine games in a row
and they're 10 and one in the season.
Nicknamed Sonic and Knuckles,
Gibbs and Montgomery combined
for three rushing touchdowns against the Coast,
becoming the first duo in NFL history
with 10 rushing touchdowns each in consecutive seasons.
Today marked the 11th time both backs
have scored a touchdown in the same game,
including the playoff, which is the most such games by running back
duo in NFL history.
Ocho and our Givs and David Montgomery, the NFL top rushing duo.
I'm trying to think about all the I'm trying to think about all the duos.
Hell, I can't really think that.
Look, OK, you got to you got a choice.
You got them. You got a game well and and and say one.
Right. You got a Henry and and and he'll.
Who else have we got?
I can't think about the top of my head.
I mean, do already back to you.
I know you won't die.
You won't die there.
And Zeke. I want you won't die. You won't die. They'll in Z.
I mean, I'll be an artist.
Chad, help us out here.
I mean, they, they, they, they, they, they obviously are the best though.
I believe so too.
Yes, I believe so.
I mean, the funny thing about it, when you think about a one, a one and two of
them, two, there's really, really a one and a one.
Yeah. One is really a one and a one. Yeah.
One is more speed, the other is more power.
Both can catch the ball.
Both can finish if necessary.
The thing is with the other running backs, Ocho,
say Quentin's so much better than Gainwell.
Right.
Henry's so much better than Hill.
But these guys are like, they're really like here.
That's why they got both had double digit touch,
Russian touchdown last year.
Both got double digit Russian touchdown this year.
So they're very comparable running backs.
I can't think people talk about a brief haul and Allen.
I think one of those guys got more touchdowns
than all those guys combined.
Yeah.
Tampa got Irving and white.
Yeah, they're good.
But I think, I think, I think it's very safe to say that Detroit has the
best dual running backs.
Now.
Yeah.
There's some very good running backs.
Like we mentioned, Tampa got a good set, Bucky urban and white.
Uh, you got, uh, we just talked about the Ocho.
We got, uh, Derek Henry and Hill. We got, we just talked about Ocho. We got Derek Henry and Hill.
We got, who else we got, Ocho?
We got Saquon and Gangwell.
Gangwell.
McCaffrey and Jordan Mason in San Francisco.
Oh, that's a good one.
That's a good one.
The Bucks, the Bucks, the Bucks stop here.
They got the best.
Now, if you put in LamBar Jackson and Derrick Henry,
we might be on something different.
But we talking about running backs.
But they look good.
I mean, they look, it was a quiet day.
I mean, they only scored 24 points.
We used to see them put up 50, 40s, 30s.
And you get spoiled by performances like that.
Yeah.
You get spoiled by performances like that.
And today they look like.
A regular team, not what we saw the past two weeks.
Yeah, they had one hundred thirty three yards,
one hundred thirty seven yards rushing.
Jerry golf was twenty six and thirty six to sixty nine.
They got up and they put a buck near them.
Franklin Speed, they got at them a little bit, roughed them up a little bit,
but that's what you have to do.
You find ways to win.
Even when we don't play our best, Ocho,
we're still beating teams by three scores.
That's no, you got a good team.
When you don't play your best, you're on the road
and you can still beat a team by three scores,
clean game, you took care of the football, what'd you have?
They had one fumble, but they recovered it.
You can't complain.
They're really good.
Somebody gonna catch, look,
it looks like they're gonna get home field throughout.
Somebody gonna catch Hale going into that building
and beat him.
Yeah.
Somebody gonna catch, I mean, you gonna have to play,
you gonna have to play a flawless football game
in order to beat this team.
The Vikings beat the Bears 30-27 in overtime. Bears lose for the fifth time. Sam Darnall.
From 2020 to 2023, his record was 10 wins and 20 defeats in 2024 alone he's 9 and 2 hey, it's amazing what happened when you put nevermind. I ain't gonna say that I
Ain't gonna say that play well today that goddamn Jordan Jordan Addison young bull. I salute you, but yeah
Hawkinson looks look oh Joe yeah, I don't might not like the way Jordan Addison like requested the ball, right?
I got no problem with the way he handled it. He's like, look here. Okay, I'm gonna talk but y'all give an opportunity
I'll show you yeah eight for a buck sixty two in a touchdown TJ Hawkinson seven for one fourteen
Now if y'all gonna go y'all gonna jump y'all and scrap y'all entire defense to try to shut down JJ Justin Jefferson yeah okay the other guys y'all punish him yeah yeah I mean
although what you want me to tell you would tell me you're gonna allow two
receivers for 15 catches they go for 276 touchdown long as 18 doesn't do it
that's what they're saying long as 18 didn't do it do it and that you know it's
a good thing it's a good thing to put it good thing. It's a good thing to put it on film too.
It's a good thing to put it on film
because now what you're telling coordinators
from this point on, at 92,
y'all gonna have to pick your poison.
Yes.
You're gonna have to pick your poison
and what you wanna do, you wanna stack the box?
You wanna stack the box and try to stop Aaron Jones?
Or you wanna double?
Yeah, Aaron Jones ran for 106.
Take, man, take your pick Hey man. Take you take your pick man
Take your pick
Anyway, remember he got home early to watch oh not to cut you off
Remember he fumbled it like the three yard line the guy pulled it out
Jonathan Owens pulled it out cuz they looked like they was about to score this thing early broke the some of their momentum
But add us an eight four bucks sixty two being big day
Hawkinson sample 114 big, big day.
Now, what are you going to do?
We prove to you now some of that sometimes I will.
I will give you one more week.
I'm going to do it again.
Do it again. Do it again.
Hey, guys. Hey, somebody about to catch.
Hell, you have to go one on one with JJ.
And he chopped. He chomping at the bit.
He chomped at the bit Mm-hmm. He chopped it at the bit to get even but look
Sam Donald 22 or 34 330
To touchdowns Aaron Jones 22 carries the buckle 6 1 touchdown
Addison 8 162 tell them Hawkinson Sam for 114 people get now Hawkinson went to the Pro Bowl Hawkinson had a season where he called like 80 to 80 not 80 mid
No high 80s, maybe even mid 90s. Yeah
He's he's just working his way back. Remember Oh Joe. He towards the towards a hell last year. Yeah
So now he's just starting to get the rhythm back get a feel like oh man. This me feel good
Oh, I can play it. I can cut, I can accelerate.
I can transition.
Yep.
And you know, look, Minnesota defense,
they got to have to, they got to look careless.
Got to look careless and let, you know,
Caleb Williams can make plays outside of the pocket.
Now he can make plays.
You best bet is to keep him in the pocket
because you let him get outside now.
Ain't no telling what he gonna do
He's very well. He's very very very well playing off script. Yep. Yes, uh
Caleb Williams with 32 or 47 342 touchdowns didn't turn it over
You can live with that you can live with that
You can live with that. You can live with that.
Moore had seven for a buckle, six for touchdown.
Keaton Allen had nine for 86 on the touchdown.
Colt Comet was seven for 64.
Look, they got some weapons.
Now they didn't run the ball.
You put a lot of pressure on a rookie quarterback to ask them to ball down there 50 times.
You got to get some, I mean, you got Sw, you, you, you got a Swift and free agency.
He's got to use, got to use him. Yeah. He got, you got to get more, you got to get more
production than 13 for 30 out of that. Oh, but guys look, man, we got to, y'all got to
stop trying to look, look, I understand fans. Y'all want ever ever food ever loose. But
you can't blame it for every damn thing. Every thing. Yeah.
Every week is his fault.
Yes.
It wasn't his fault that 29 was jacking off over there.
But the crowd, we got y'all.
Y'all thought y'all won this game.
Yeah, we got and the play going on, don't you?
How's that ever flu spoke?
Okay.
Yeah.
I got the field, got the kick block. But
they have I get it. I get it. Y'all want to get y'all want
y'all want the guy gone. But they have at some point time
every time you lose is not on the coach yeah my official couldn't use the boundary camp on the
review if a coach is challenged you cannot use the boundary camp there's a
boundary camp in every stadium so there's a question of equity what what
what played it uh oh yeah yeah oh no that was what you call them when the 83 called a touchdown
and he stuck the ball out. Oh, oh, what? Oh, so that's what he got mad him for ever flukes.
Oh, besides being the head coach of the Bears, that's what they mainly upset about on show is if he'll be the head coach of the Chicago Bears, but
clearly they're over him.
Hey there.
It's Michael Lewis, author of going infinite moneyball, the blind
side and liar's poker on every season of my podcast Against
the Rules, I take a broad look at various characters in American life. The referee,
the coach, the expert. My next season is all about fans and what the rise of sports betting
is doing to them, to the teams, and even to my family. I'm heading to Las Vegas and New Jersey and beyond
to understand America's newest form of legalized gambling.
Listen to Against the Rules on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts,
or wherever you listen to podcasts. The Pertiless 49ers got clapped by the Packers 38-10.
Jordan Love entered the streak of eight consecutive games with a pick by remaining at 11, which
matches this total from last year.
Love threw for 163 yards and a pair of touchdowns, but there's reason for concern given they
played the Dolphins in four days.
Josh Jacobs had to leave briefly to but to be treated for cramped.
But he had an unbelievable day.
The Packers lost Romeo Dobbs to a concussion.
It'd be difficult for him to make the clear protocol.
No, because we saw we saw to get a concussion and played on a Thursday night.
So but I think what they've learned, they've learned from that.
It's going to be hard for you to get a concussion on Sunday, Ocho
and get your ass on that field on Thursday.
Thursday, right.
Because you condensed the amount of time, at least from Sunday to Sunday.
Ocho, you had Thursday, you had Friday and you had Saturday.
So you had three extra days.
Now, Sunday, you got Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and you play.
No, I don't see it happening.
The Packers are likely likely to have Jair Alexander, me,
or Edren Cooper, hamstring.
The 49ers were without multiple keys started,
the Packers veteran quarterback, Kishon Nixon,
believe that's not enough of a reason to take credit away
from them and they dominate win.
It's the NFL, it's not an excuse.
We didn't have our quarterback, we won three games,
so we don't wanna hear that.
We came to play, they should have come to play
Oh Joe at five and six with a trip to Buffalo awaiting how deal are the 49ers postseason hopes?
Oh, yeah, he looking good on
It's this not looking good. Especially we
Who you got to play next to they got Buffalo not not not not not so I call him Superman
I'm not sure what you call him. We got Buffalo. Not not not not not so I call him Superman. I'm not sure what you call him.
They got Buffalo Sunday. You call it whatever you want to but that's who they got in Buffalo.
But it ain't looking good. It's looking real grim. It's looking real grim and that's even
that's even if everybody was healthy too. Even if everybody was healthy. Listen Josh Allen and
them young boys over there doing something special, man. And there's no no disrespect to
Shanahan and his team, but they playing different. They play real.
And most of the time, when you think about the goddamn 49ers in this time,
after Thanksgiving around this time, they always go on a run.
Not only did they go on the run, but they actually healthy when they do so.
And they make it into the postseason.
But it's too many question marks.
There's too many question marks in there right now to say that they're going to make a run
of playoffs.
Back up quarterback, you're asking an awful lot for Christian McCaffrey to miss half the
season and to come back in and pick up right away left off.
I don't think he's fully healthy either.
No, no.
He don't look right.
Brandon Ayuk is out.
Kittle played well today.
Jennings, what?
Deebo one catch for 21 yards.
Christian McCaffrey at three for 37.
Look, I picked Green Bay to win.
Yeah.
I picked Green Bay to win.
I didn't think.
If you're a betting man or you're a gambling man, I would hope with the injuries that the goddamn 49ers have, you pick Green Bay to win. I just think if you're a betting man or you're a gambling man, I would hope with
the injuries that the got damn 49 to have you pick Green Bay to win. Yeah. Look, I'm
not supposed to even with Purdy. I don't like what I'm seeing for the defense. They're not
good defensively. And every year at some point in time, it seems like, uh, both against Nick.
He's out, um, ward for personal reason.
He was out, uh, the safety, uh, huff nigger.
Uh, he's I was, what's, uh, uh, he's really good.
29, Ocho, but he's been hurt the last two years, but at some point in time,
Ocho, the next man up, next man up, next, you got five next
men up.
That ain't gonna cut it.
No, you might can go with one next man up, but you start talking about four, five, six
next man up.
It's not, it's not the same.
Not the same.
No, they got their work cut out for them.
Now look, it's not there five and six
I think the best record in that division is six and five Seattle
And I think Arizona they play these teams that me I think they might be done
I don't think they play Seattle again, but I think they got Arizona and I think they got the Rams again, but
This is not the 49er team that we saw last year. This is not the 49er
team that we're accustomed to seeing. Like you said, they're used to playing. They're
normally going in this direction, heading into December and January. And it seems like
they're heading in this direction now, going into December and January. Yeah, this is,
but Green Bay, Josh Jacobs is unbelievable.
And people like, man, y'all gave up on Aaron Jones.
Aaron Jones, and if they'd have kept Aaron Jones,
I would have been disappointed with him,
but they wanted a younger, they went with,
I think a younger bag that runs
with a little bit more power.
He can catch the ball.
He can catch the ball out of the backfield,
just like Aaron Jones.
Aaron Jones is really good at catching the football
I'm surprised
Dallas didn't make a play for him. He was another guy that was available in free agency. He's from Dallas He loves the Cowboys right look at his numbers when he plays the Cowboys, especially in AT&T Stadium
But hey, they went in the direction that they wanted to go But they ran the ball 42 times for a buck 69.
Jordan Love with 13 or 23, 163 to touchdowns
wasn't the most efficient, but he didn't turn the ball over. Right.
Long as he doesn't turn the ball over, because remember, he had a streak.
He was turning the ball over every single game.
And sometimes he was turning it over multiple times.
That's what gets you in trouble.
But give him credit.
Green Bay, eight and three.
Stay at A. We don't want we don't think about it.
You got 10 and one Detroit.
You got nine and two Minnesota and you got eight and three Green Bay.
Only one can win the division.
Hold the vision. Whole division.
Whole division playing ball. Except Chicago.

All children fans, demolish the Patriots, 3415.
Jared Moyer is the hot water for what he said after the game
on the Patriots 3415. Jared Moyer is the hot water for what he said after the game on the Patriots mistake in performance.
Look at once those guys crossed the white line,
there's nothing I can do for them.
Well, let me listen.
It's not.
It's not.
Listen.
You can't say that though.
Hey, you got Wednesday, you got Thursday, you got Friday,
you got walk through Saturday.
You prepare.
He's done everything again.
You have meetings. You got means on top of means. You prepare. He's done everything again. You have meetings.
You got means on top of means. You have a meeting about a meeting based on the team you're playing.
You don't watch film all goddamn week. He's done everything that he can do to prepare you for the
goddamn Dolphins. All three phases of the game offensively, defensively, and special teams.
When Sunday comes at one o'clock, there is nothing that Gerard Mayo can do for you. Athena prepare you for your
team or that team all god damn week. What you mean he can't say
that? That's exactly what he I mean he telling the truth.
That's the problem. Oh Joe. It's okay. I we know we know that
but you can't say that you the coach.
You talking like you a fan of you can't say that you the coach. You talking like you a fan of
you can't say that you're the
coach. Hey, hey, listen, uh he
telling the truth though. I
know you I know I know you gotta
be I know you can't say stuff
like that. Yeah, you know, it's
it's refreshing to hear coach
tell the god damn truth for a
chance. Yes. I I I just didn't I can't do nothing for you, I can't do nothing for you.
I can't do nothing for you.
But when y'all didn't play well,
you couldn't go out there and say,
man, Carson, sup.
Oh, nah, nah, you know.
I'm not, we're ever been refreshing.
Yes, you know I'm not crossing that line.
Exactly.
I wasn't in a position to be able to cross that line.
But one, I was already the villain.
I already told the line, I already pushed the envelope.
Now I definitely even open my mouth
and say no craziness like that.
I know what a dirty line that is.
That your offense didn't play well
or the defense didn't play well,
or maybe you guys weren't as prepared as you needed to be.
You just bite the bullet, say we need to play better.
We'll play better next week.
Give that team credit.
You know, they came, they executed better than we did.
They took care of, they handled their business.
But hey, we, we learned from it and we move forward.
But there's something, bro, you'll coach.
Yeah.
Yeah.
They're supposed to be, they're supposed to be always something you could do to
help your team, whether you can or you can't.
You say there's something we knew do it. We need to do a better job of coaching them up.
We got our play today. We got our coach today, but now we'll go back and look at the tape.
We'll see what we did good, which wasn't much. There are things that we can improve upon,
which is a lot, and we'll get better. That's what practice is for. We'll learn from the mistakes
that we made. We'll coach them up better. They'll play better and we'll get better. That's what practice is for. We'll learn from the mistakes that we made.
We'll coach them up better.
They'll play better and we'll be better from it.
Oh, damn, I sound like a coach.
Yeah, you know, you know, it's one thing I will say.
One thing I can say.
What is it?
For the Patriots, for the fans, for Gerard Mayo,
they found, they found a quarterback of the future.
I can tell you that.
Oh yeah, for sure.
Oh, they found, hey, that goddamn Drake Mae boy, well, he nice. He tough. Yeah, they didn't found a quarterback of the future. I can tell you that. Oh yeah, for sure. Oh, they found, hey, that goddamn Drake Mayboy,
boy, he nice.
He tough.
They done found their goddamn quarterback.
I don't care what Gerard Mayo said today.
There's one thing I know as a fan, as a Patriot fan,
you can feel good about your quarterback situation.
All you got to do is build around him.
You gonna be all right.
Yeah, be right.
I like it, I like it.
Now you gotta give him some more weapons though, Joe. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah
I'm surprised they didn't run the body. Look Miami is getting hot at the right time to a
29 or 43 17 for touchdowns clean game didn't turn it over
Jane the wattle broke out of his slump eight for buck 44 a touchdown John new smith
Knife for 87 a touchdown back to back week now. You got three touchdown. John New Smith, nine for 87, a touchdown.
Back to back week, now you got three touchdowns
in the past two weeks.
Yvonne Achan, Achan, Achan, Achan, Achan.
Yeah.
Three for 24, you only had 24 yards on your two tubs though.
But I thought two threw the ball exceptionally well today.
They did a great job, you only got sack twice.
Hey, they gotta get my dog Cheetah going, man.
I ain't letting Cheetah beat me.
Hey, they gotta get my dog Cheetah going, man.
They gotta do something.
They gotta, man, put him in the backfield.
Put him at running back.
Yeah.
I don't know, man.
Do something, do whatever you need to do.
Mike McDaniels, you're very creative.
You're a very creative coach.
But man, we can't have a season like we had last year with Cheetah.
And then obviously, we obviously we know goddamn two of Miss Gaines.
But man, I mean, forget that, man.
I'm trying to get I'm trying to get to the ball in any way possible.
But I want to make you got to keep young bull happy over there, man,
because you know what they do?
They love to use instances like this
where the numbers don't look like they did last year.
And the first thing they talk about
where we think you done lost a step.
No, I did.
But they just gave them a contract, Ocho.
They just gave them a six-shaded this year.
I understand that.
You know what they'll do to you
after just giving you a contract?
That don't mean nothing.
Understand this business and how this business works.
Go ahead.
Go ahead and release me.
I'll take my ass right back to Kansas City.
They ain't going nowhere.
That's the last thing.
Do you want him back in Kansas City with Mahomes?
No, cause you might as well just put a goddamn trophy
on the medal right now.
Exactly.
Cause now you go have him worthy.
You know they just added a Tyquan Thornton to the,
so now you got 421, you got 427 Taekwondo into the. So now you got four to one.
You got four to seven and you got four to nine.
Yeah, that's nasty.
As he works.
I'm just running gold.
I'm a a elite every elite.
There's not a pass play that I don't have a go ball included.
Right. If Tyree worthy or if Tyreek is worth it on the field, if
worthy and Thornton's on the field, whoever there's a go ball. Yeah. Every
time
I piece it out. The fans, like I said, Miami is getting hot at the right time.
They're five and six. They one two straight. 34 15 winners over the Patriots
tour. 29 or 43-four touchdowns.
Jalen Water broke out of his slump,
eight for a buck 44, one touchdown,
and John Lewis Smith had nine for 87 on the touchdown
as they win 34-15.
The Volume.
