Starting point is 00:06:51 Those looking to purchase a bottle is shaved by Leporte. Head over to Loportecaquette.com. is currently unavailable in the city of state near you. It is a premium VSOP cognate. The smoothest, best-tasting V-E-SOP conyct. On the market, drinks like an ex-o. Super smooth.
Starting point is 00:07:10 Trust me. I've had a couple of waters myself. You can compare it to these other cognates all you want to, the best-tasting cognac on the market. Y'all know. Pared up with a nice cigar or even some Zah. The choice is yours. fellas.
Starting point is 00:07:30 Hey, Joe, you seen kind of, hey, hey, hey, oh, but Joe's kind of sad, huh? You see, he kind of sad tonight, Ocho? Hey, hey, hey, you feel it kind of sad. Hey, hey, hey, you feel a little sad, huh, Joe? Huh? Hold on, hold on, hold on. Let me flip my, let me flip my. Well, God damn, Dwayne Wayne.
Starting point is 00:07:47 Hey, hey, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, a different world. Okay, okay. I just making sure you, I just call you Dwayne Wayne. I know, I'm just making sure you, I'm just making sure you know what's going on? You're making sure he locked in with you. He locked in. Hey, hey, hey, I'm definitely locked in. Here you go. Go ahead, get out of your chest home, boy.
Starting point is 00:08:09 Listen, hey, hey, Uncle Joe, listen, I told y'all, listen, this isn't just about this series. This is about since the NBA playoff started. All y'all told me when it went when it was March Madness, oh, I'm picking mascot. I beat y'all in that. It came to the NBA playoffs. NBA playoffs started. I told you exactly who I'm going to win, each series, all the way up to the finals.
Starting point is 00:08:32 At some point, both of y'all, I don't want to hear you say basket or ball, no more. I don't want to hear nothing about how good y'all know and how good your knowledge of basketball is because I put both of y'all to shame and tired of this series. You hear me? I told you what the spurs are going to do.
Starting point is 00:08:51 Both of y'all had the thunder winning, Matter of fact, oh, no, don't worry about it. It's going to game seven. They plan an OKC. OKC going to win, you know, home court advantage, all that jibba-jave. Man, nonsense. Huh? You're right, Ocho, you had it.
Starting point is 00:09:07 But I think everybody, we all had it to go seven. You took the Spurs. Joe and I took the Thunder. But it was Victor Wimbunyama and Shampini, and those guys came to play tonight. 11 to 103. They are the Western Conference champs. Uh, Wembe will be the Magic Johnson award.
Starting point is 00:09:26 They're getting the celebration going now, but we went ahead and got started. And they played a well of a ball game. Everybody played unbelievable. You see what they did. The bench came in. Kelton Johnson was huge tonight. Dylan Harper did Dylan Harper things. He did a great job of taking care of the basketball, but Carter Bryant.
Starting point is 00:09:46 He only played three minutes, but he came in there with a big time. Yeah. And finished at the rim. but it was Champany with those three in the fourth quarter. He could third and fourth and then Deere and Fox is still quick as a cat of a sale. Stefan Castle, those guys
Starting point is 00:10:01 they dug deep. And I tweeted, Joe, I tweeted Shay's legs are gone. Because if you notice, Joe, he didn't get that rest to start the second quarter. They knew the very first five minutes of that second quarter was going to be very important. He played 43 minutes.
Starting point is 00:10:17 And I tweeted, I say, you know what? He's going to be looking to draw contact. Them legs gone. So look, what are he going to do, Joe? Yeah, yeah. And try to jump into somebody. Yeah. Just hold down.
Starting point is 00:10:28 Look at the last shots that he took. Yeah. Way, way off. But I always felt the key to the series, Joe. And Joe, we're going to turn it over to you. I said if Wemby outplays both of their bigs, they can't win this series. The last two games, he's done a number on him. I don't know what, Chad took two shots.
Starting point is 00:10:50 Joe. I would get rid of ask you that. He took two shots. I don't know what he thought he was going to do with them. I guess he thought there were like seven point shots. Hey, he was nervous. He was scared. The moment was too much for him, Joe. Yeah. I don't know. We've been talking about this the entirety of the playoffs and why shit is...
Starting point is 00:11:05 Wimby was too much for him. Yeah. The player tonight, this is the best defensive play in Spurs history. Luke Cornett's block on Hartinstein. Yeah. On a breakaway. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:11:19 Because that trial was about to erupt and they was about to be down too. But guess what happened? He blocks it. They go back the other way and if I'm not mistaken, they go up seven. That was the play of the game. That's the block. That is the block of the Spurs. Look, Tim Duncan has had some great ones.
Starting point is 00:11:37 So is the Admiral. But there has never been a block in Spurs history. That's going to be comparable for that one. They're going to be talking about this for years and years to come. Joe, how did a team, the youngest team in the NBA, go all the, on the road, beat a two-time MVP, a defending finals champ, how did they go on the road in a game seven and get it done? The fellas, San Antonio has always believed they were a better team.
Starting point is 00:12:07 There's no, I'm talking about even before this series started, I feel like San Antonio felt they was better than OKC. And they came out and proved it in this series, especially in this game seven. I thought Shay came ready to play Uncle Ocho. You know, he got out to a great start. He was attacking. He was making them tough tools. He was getting to his midi.
Starting point is 00:12:26 You know, he's virtually getting what he won't. This probably was his best game statistically. Yeah. You know, probably since game two. But the other guys outside of Kaysen Wallace in their fourth quarter who kept him in arms reach, man, the starting five was nonexistent. Lou Dordt, Czech Homebridge, Hardinstein. He played hard. all right, he was physical, he's your muscle.
Starting point is 00:12:51 You know, he did what he could to slow wimby down. But, bro, if you can't get no scoring out of these dudes, how in the hell you think you're going to be San Antonio? But I think what we have to do is give San Antonio a lot of credit because they're a hell of a defensive team. And they were able to keep all those guys at bay. I thought OKC bench came in, gave them great minutes, Caruso, McCain, big Jalyn Williams.
Starting point is 00:13:16 I thought they all came in and competed. Yeah, but San Antonio, when you got all these guys hitting on all cylinders, shooting at a high field goal percentage, bro, they were just in tune. They were in sync. They understood the message. They knew they had to come into OKC and get one to make it to the finals. It was a hell of a performance by the Spurs. I give them that, bro.
Starting point is 00:13:38 They showed me something that I didn't think, you know, I didn't think they was going to win this game. I thought OKC guys would play a lot better. It was just unfortunate. And like you say, Aunt, She was so tired down the stretch, bro. You see when he shot that three, it was an air boss. Oh, yeah, them later. And the one before that one.
Starting point is 00:13:55 Yeah. Wasn't much better. Hey, Joe, we don't need you to think no more, Joe. We need you to listen to me. Huh? From now on, anytime we do basketball segments, especially doing this, the Spurs and Nick series, y'all listen to me. Unk, I need you to listen to me.
Starting point is 00:14:11 What you got, bro? Listen, I'm not going to stay your wrong. I'm not the one. Jesus got the wheel, but I'm in the passenger seat. When it comes to talking basketball, I have elite ball knowledge. I don't watch the game, but I understand the game. So this is because of y'all. Because of y'all, y'all got me watching basketball now.
Starting point is 00:14:29 So it's easy for me to get a better understanding who's going to win based on style and matchups. I told you what was going to happen. And that's exactly what happened. Okay. Hey, hey, this man, lucky the shit house rat. So I've been, see, see what I'm talking about? See, you're hard-headed, what? Hey, hey, you got some good picks.
Starting point is 00:14:48 I give you credit, bro. You made some good picks. Hey, Joe, I've been right the whole entire to the playoffs. That ain't good. That ain't luck. That's not luck. Respect. Help me understand.
Starting point is 00:15:01 I need somebody to help me understand. What do you need to understand, man? You know, you know, you've been challenged scoring. With the exception of maybe one game that you really got out, the scoring has been there. why wouldn't you start McCain or Caruso instead of Dorr?
Starting point is 00:15:20 I don't know because Doris, he been struggling. He ain't been giving you nothing. Nothing on offense, but you need him defensively, huh? But Caruso is just as good, but he's a better offensive guy because now I can help off Dort
Starting point is 00:15:35 because, see, you see, the thing is that they would shift Chet, I mean, Wimby on him. Wimbe got to work. Wimby can help off him. him because he ain't going to do nothing.
Starting point is 00:15:46 Right. I'll let him take his two, three, rainbow threes. I'll let him take that. He ain't no threat to put the ball on the floor. He's not going to attack me. Right. So I didn't get that. But I was very, very impressed.
Starting point is 00:16:02 I think, you know what? I think Ms. Johnson has to say, hey, man, I need y'all to play attention to Sheldon Sharp's tweet. Because I say, man, y'all don't get Harrison Barnes' ass out of there and let Kelton Johnson and Bryant get those minutes. Right on how many corner threes, Joe, is he going to gag? I mean, they leave him wide open. He ain't even close.
Starting point is 00:16:25 He's not even close to making a basket. He don't do nothing. Look at her. Oh, he had a quadruple zeros, zero points, zero field goals, zero threes, zero free throws, zero rebounds, zero rebounds, zero turnovers, zero steals, zero blocks, minus five. minute. Boy, he was good and terrible. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. Hey, look, I think the, what helps San Antonio win this game, obviously, collectively as a team,
Starting point is 00:16:54 they were hitting on all cylinders. But when you got Champini and Vassia, you know, playing the way they played Champany, making shots six for ten from three, 20. points, six rebounds, bro, that's a plus. On the road, like, I, I didn't, I didn't, I didn't count. I didn't count him in as playing this great in this game seven the way he did. They played unbelievable.
Starting point is 00:17:20 And just the physicality of the game, fellas. I mean, just like, even from bringing the ball up, they let them be real handsy today. They let him play today, Yo. Ocho, they let them play.
Starting point is 00:17:32 Hey, they let them be handsy today, okay, Ocho. I'm talking about, hey, they were putting their hands on each other today. And the rest won't call a lot of it. I can appreciate that. of me a great physical battle guys fighting through picks i mean here as soon as you cross half
Starting point is 00:17:47 court somebody had their hands on you you know what i mean i thought it was a great game i i love what miss johnson what miss johnson has done with this uh young san antonio spurs team he's put belief in those guys amen and they follow in wimby bro they they're gonna be scary they're gonna be scared. Oh, but I looked at, I'm like, let me see who the referee's going to be. I see Mark Jones.
Starting point is 00:18:11 Yeah. I see Tivins. Yeah. I see Goebel. I see my guy Mitch Urban. I said, okay, they're going to let him play. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:18:17 They're going to let them play. Hey, they're going to let her play. Hey, they were looking for, they're looking for files. Mark, John, and John, what you want me to do? Hey, hey, uh,
Starting point is 00:18:27 you let you get your ass up and go back there and get on defense. They're going to get away up. Hey, hey, Joe and up. who's up? They let them play in game six. they let them play but that's the thing are they going to let them play
Starting point is 00:18:39 remember in game in game five they shot 38 38 free throws yeah last game I think they shot 12 this game they shot 22
Starting point is 00:18:50 there was 32 or 38 man 17 or 22 so you shoot 16 fewer guess what and that's 16 fewer points
Starting point is 00:19:03 I love the pace, Joe, because remember we talked about it, Joe, I said, Joe, as long as they keep them below 60, they keep on near to that, that 40, high 40s, maybe low to mid-50s, I like that pace, that favorite San Antonio. You let OKC, you let them start touching that 60, 65, 70, you're not beating them. You not beat. Pride is like love. You feel it in your heart. Starting point is 00:20:47 They're constantly needed at malls. Listen to humor me with Robert Smygling Friends on the IHard Radio app, Apple Podcasts or wherever you get your podcasts. What's up, fam, this Isaiah Thomas. And I'm CJ Toledano, and our podcast Point Game is about defying the odds. Like LeBron heading into the playoffs without Luca and Austin Reed. And finding ways to win no matter what. He's the smartest player to ever play the game.
Starting point is 00:21:10 His IQ is at a level that we've never seen before. And he knows without Luca and Austin Reeves, I got to manipulate the game. We get a player's perspective on the challenges of the playoffs. I think Joker's going to be exhausted this series because when they don't have Rudy in the lineup, he has to really guard guys like Nas Reid. He has to guard Julius Randall.
Starting point is 00:21:30 And then he has to give us every. everything he gives us on the night-to-night basis on offense. And when IT's friends stop by, like Quentin Richardson, we dive into some playoff history too. Steve Nash will get that thing. That man, hell get the flying. He running up the court, licking his fingers, why he got the ball.
Starting point is 00:21:45 Like, you go through a training camp with that, Isaiah. You figure it out real quick. Get your ass up and down the court, and you're going to get the ball. So listen to Point Game on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Here's something that should not be as complicated as it is, getting a racist statue removed. And here's something that should be a whole lot easier than it is, getting a new one put up in its place.
Starting point is 00:22:11 As long as there's a politics of race in America, there's going to be a politics of remembering the Civil War. To get to school, I had to go down Robert Ely Boulevard. Get to the grocery store, I had to go down Jefferson Davis Parkway. If you're an historian and you leave out half of what the history is, you're not doing your job. I'm Akila Hughes, and Rebel Spirit Season 2 goes deep on both of those things. The fights, the politics, the people who won, and my personal campaign to add something to the Kentucky State House that's actually worth the wall space. We are more than our bodies. We contain essence. We contain spirit. How do you represent that? They are just fueling a fire that is really catching.
Starting point is 00:22:51 You'll see what I mean. Listen to Rebel Spirit Season 2 on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you. you get your podcasts. And I know everybody was thinking like, man, Shay, look, give him that. He's going to make those tough threes. I don't believe he can get 50 points making those tough Tuesdays. I don't believe it.
Starting point is 00:23:11 I believe his legs will go first. I say, look, what, give him back. And when the trap, hey, when presented, I'm an opportunity to trap him. Get it. Man. Hey, Miss Johnson,
Starting point is 00:23:25 San Antonio. Yeah. Think of a bow. Yeah. Well deserved victory. They are. Hey. This was unbelievable game.
Starting point is 00:23:34 I mean, Shelf, but you look at the way they came out, Joe, the only, listen, watching this game and I'm watching it intently, Joe, if they don't let, man, O KC was killing them on the glass, they were up, they were at, they were plus 10, plus 11. At one point, there was plus 14. Yeah. It flipped around, all of a sudden. Guess what? The Spurs winning the rebound battle by two.
Starting point is 00:24:02 Listen, at the rate they were going, they were going to lose this game just on second chance points alone. Yeah. Yeah. Like, Cornette, you got one job and you're failing the assignment, son.
Starting point is 00:24:12 But all is forgiven. After what you did, the Hardinstein, he made up. All is forgiven. Hey, that was big time. That was big time. Listen, anytime you're down second best player, take the least amount of shots on the team,
Starting point is 00:24:27 check took two shots everybody else who played took at least four damn shots okay or cho can you please tell me how in the hell you're going to win a game like that man you not that man you got hold on okay see got got got got the Williams kid that man played four minutes bro he took four shots he took more he double wimby and shot attempts high in the hell check i mean uh check how in the hell check hungry played 33 minutes bro you mean tell me he only get two two attempts. And Williams had two few points. Come on, man.
Starting point is 00:25:04 Come on, man. I don't know. And what I'm going to do with that, Joe? What I'm going to do with Joe? Joe, what I'm going to tell me? I need you and Joe to tell me what I'm going to do with them down for. Rebound that shit got. Nah, damn thing.
Starting point is 00:25:14 He can't do nothing with them, ma. Can't do nothing. I have a question. What's a question? Uncle, Uncle Joe, we continue to talk about shit, not taking advantage of the offense of opportunities, being scared to shoot the ball. Obviously, the moment is too big for him.
Starting point is 00:25:27 What if he's not the second best player on the team? What if he's not? What if we've made him the second best player, but he's really not because he's scared of the big moments. No, but I mean, you're an all-N-B-A player on both ends, on offense and defense. You get a max contract. Yeah, you got to be.
Starting point is 00:25:45 They paid you to be the second best player. Hey, it ain't looking like it. No, it didn't. And I don't know, and I don't know why they brought Jalen Williams' ass back in game six. Joe, can you imagine if you leave it, at least give me something. game because here's what's going to happen if you lose game six guess what he ain't going to be ready to go game seven he couldn't i'm gonna be honest he couldn't have played in this game no damn way not now now with them they had they playing you see how hard them do's out there playing and
Starting point is 00:26:13 touching and grabbing on each other man i do i saw it hey i saw it bro this was hey man man you had to have some wheelpower you know what i mean like i i i sissed it from the start because i I was thinking like, damn, hold on. San Antonio's going to blow these boys out at home. I know they ain't feeling good. I ain't feeling to go out like that. If they could have got kept them off the glass, they would. That's what, if you think about it, Joe, when they, it changed because look at when
Starting point is 00:26:39 Wimby goes out. Yeah. Wimby goes out. They brought Cornett in. Then they flipped it. They brought Jalen Williams in. Not Jailen Witt. That man had nine rebounds at the half.
Starting point is 00:26:53 Nine rebounds. Yeah. Giving them second pants. Because here's the thing, Joe, they were. was up, hey, they was up 11. Yeah, all of a sudden you get a second chance point, it's down to a three. You're down to eight.
Starting point is 00:27:03 And now you get another three. It's down to five as opposed to one shot, one kill. Hey, you get one crack at it. If you don't put the ball in the damn basket, guess what? We're going down to the other end. Yeah. And I don't know what Ms. Johnson told him at the half. He said, look here, everything, damn fast breaks.
Starting point is 00:27:19 I need everything to get on the glass. Yeah, yeah. Everybody. Hey. Get your squeegeegety, get your wind decks. I need you to get on the glass. Hey, and you seen how Wimby started the damn game. His first play was to the bucket, gave you that shoulder,
Starting point is 00:27:38 create some space off the glass. I said, oh, damn. A big wheel, okay. It's going to be a long night. Yeah. I love the closeness of this team. You see Wemby? Bryant was down there.
Starting point is 00:27:50 His coach chewed his ass out. You see him, he goes over, and he's talking. And he's leading on Bismarck Biombo. Yeah. Mike Biombo ain't played and given him anything, but leadership. Yeah. And working with Wimby,
Starting point is 00:28:07 pushing on this is what you do. This is what you're going to need to expect in this game. This is how, what you should do. He's been a, he's been the mentor that he's needed. Look, I understand that Duncan,
Starting point is 00:28:19 what Duncan is. I understand with Robinson, but they're not going to be there every day. They're not going to be on, hey, put me, put, uh,
Starting point is 00:28:29 B'ambo's room right next to Wembe. As a matter of fact, get him joining room. Get him a presidential suite with a joining door. So he can go in there check on it. Hey. That's invaluable. I think he knows it now, Joe. But he's going to look back down the road.
Starting point is 00:28:45 And you know, you hear how guys talk about, you talk about how Antoine and Paul Pierce and those guys, what they gave you. He will look back five, 10 years down the road from now and says, man, what Bismarck Diombo gave me? that was some of the best NBA advice I could have ever received. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:29:05 He is a natural born leader. Yeah. He is a natural born leader. Now, he, yeah, he'd get fiery at time, but the compassion that he shows, because he knows everybody is not on his talent level. Yeah. And so he can't be hard on them like he would can himself.
Starting point is 00:29:22 Yeah. But the way he put his arms around the young man the other night, the way he, the man sitting down the floor, and he says, I'm proud of you. Yeah. Big time. He came in there. He didn't play.
Starting point is 00:29:33 What? He played three minutes tonight. He played three minutes. Three minutes. Gave you a rebound. Gave you a tough bucket. The only Spurs player, I tell you what, chat. Tell me the only player that played for the Spurs that was minus and plus minus.
Starting point is 00:29:50 I give you one guess. Oh, man. Come on, man. Do, do, do, do, do. Do, do, do, do. Do, do, do, do. Give you one gas. You got Champany, plus 16.
Starting point is 00:30:11 You got Whimby, plus seven. You got D'R and Fawkes, plus three. Vassell, no, not plus, but he wasn't minus. Stefan Castle, plus one, plus six by Johnson, plus two by Brian, plus one by Harper, plus one by Cornette, plus nine by Harper. Give me the guy that got minus. Who got the minor?
Starting point is 00:30:35 Boy, look at him. Bar that Harris a bar, boy, look it, that joke ain't what the elephant left on the showground. And anybody that's ever been to the circus, y'all know what the elephant leave on the showground. Hey, oh, the man only played three and a half minutes. That was too many. Hey, hey, hey, hey. Hey. Any other many minutes he played, that was three, too many.
Starting point is 00:31:02 And guess what? And guess what? You see that, you see coach got his ass about it, didn't it? Yeah. went to them young boys. You're talking about a guy that's been on an NBA championship team. He was a starter
Starting point is 00:31:12 on an NBA championship team. A starter on another team, on another team that finished run up. And in a moment like this, with all these young-ass guys, the coach trusted guys in the first, second, or third year
Starting point is 00:31:27 more than he trusted a seven, eight, nine-year veteran. That should tell you everything you need to know. Everybody else, everybody else, hey, he ain't got to get no work. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:31:37 Hey, San Antonio having seven guys and double figures fellas. Hey, look, you talk about Biz MacBionbo having that leadership for Wimby, showing them the ropes. I like Kelly Olinnic too. I think this is what a lot of these young teams are missing, that veteran presence. Yes. But guys who, if you need them to play, hell, they can step in and play give you a few hard files or whatever the case may be, like they did the other night. But for the most part, helping these young guys along the way, showing them the ropes, you know, keeping them level-headed and helping them understand the moment that they're in.
Starting point is 00:32:19 Bro, every team needs this. But you take the veteran guys out because, you know, the veteran minimum may be three-four me. They don't want to pay that. So they rather go with a two-way guy. So that's why you have a lot of these teams, bro, that don't have a veteran presence and you have to deal with a lot of BS. You know what I mean? So I'm happy for San Antonio, bro.
Starting point is 00:32:43 I'm happy for San Antonio, bro. I'll be honest with y'all. I think they have a great upside, and I think they have a great chance, obviously, to win a title this year. Yeah, they played unbelievable for this team to be as young as they are and to go on the road and to beat the defending champs in their building with a two-year-old. New Time League MVP. Man, I don't know. Look, I'm trying to think
Starting point is 00:33:08 when something of this magnitude has happened to lose a game seven as the defending champ in the Western Conference Final on your home court. Chad, y'all help me out. When is the last time it's been done? I don't know, man.
Starting point is 00:33:22 I'm going to be honest. I don't know. Hey, it's the first half of everything. Uncle Joe. Hey, hey, and Chad, and excuse me. And Shay's going to get some criticism. Just like all other two-time MVP's lose a home game and game seven, just like we ripped, you remember last year when we ripped Yolkich? Yeah. For losing.
Starting point is 00:33:45 Y'all remember that, right? Joe, you remember you? I don't know, Joe, I think you was on here. Will you remember that? Yeah. The same way we ripped LeBron because we hold guys with MVP's to a higher standard. The same way they criticize Lamar more harsh than they criticize a Josh Allen. or a Joe Burrow or or or a Trevor Lawrence or what's the guy at the charges Ocho
Starting point is 00:34:09 Herbert, Justin Herbert. Justin Herbert. Yeah. And hell, he's gone away for two weeks and no, but that's another. We're talking about that at some point in time. That's unacceptable in my book, but go ahead. Death in the family, I get it. Wife having a child, I get it.
Starting point is 00:34:23 But your wife on a press junkie and you, but anyway, we don't get back down normally scheduled programming. No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. not, no, no, we don't like that's like that. I got a question. I got a question. What's the question? When you talk about, when you talk about criticizing Shays, you still criticize him as well as he played the night.
Starting point is 00:34:45 He didn't play well. I mean, if you think about it, as Joe said, in five, six, he was, hasn't been very good. They were better with, you go back and look at them, Joe. Yeah. Look at what they plucked when he was off the court, what they did. I'm not saying. and chat, because y'all know how y'all have tried to clip it.
Starting point is 00:35:04 I'm not saying they're a better team without him. I'm saying when he went to the bench, look at, okay, when Wimby go to the bench, what happens? With other superstars go to the bench, what happens? He did not play well enough. He shot 40%. A guy that shot 53% in the regular season. shot 40%
Starting point is 00:35:32 damn I understand what you're saying I gotta I gotta get you a little pushback on that door go ahead I'm here I mean game seven when I need the damn have it I'm talking I need to have it yeah I thought he brought it bro
Starting point is 00:35:48 now I thought it's supporting cast the guys off the bench who's been consistent the Caruso's the McCain's Williams but damn first of we got jaded up out. That's another all-star Max Gass. You got AJ Mitchell out. I mean, two guys who are bucket getters.
Starting point is 00:36:08 Yes. In that starting lineup, outside of wallets, like I said, in that four quarter, making a lot, he ain't got it. Damn, what are he supposed to do? But that's what I asked, Joe, why not start a guy that can give you more production offensively? Because your problem is scoring. Your problem is, is allowing Wemby to be Ed Reed. Your problem is a guy that you're allowing them to play five on four. Right. That was your problem. Look, that is your problem.
Starting point is 00:36:36 But we also hadn't lost what they lost game one. They had been playing pretty well at home. You know what I mean? Yes. Because they are the defending champs, what were they, they weren't going to take Lou Dork out to starting line of fellas. They weren't going to do that. I understand that.
Starting point is 00:36:54 Not in the game seven, huh? He does. They don't make a drastic move like that. This team from the very beginning, every time they beat them, they said, you go back and listen to Winby's comments, it says it gives us confidence. We know we can compete with this team. We're not in awe of this team.
Starting point is 00:37:15 And when they beat you in once, the problem that you have is that they beat you. You know if you beat somebody one time, guess what you believe? You can beat them again. Yeah, yeah. You can beat. And guess where they're,
Starting point is 00:37:28 beat them at game one. The only difference, there was six games in between. Yeah. That's the only difference. It's still in Oklahoma City. They still got the two-time defending. They still got the two-time MVP. They still the reigning champs.
Starting point is 00:37:41 Nothing changed in my mind. Ms. Johnson probably told him, guys, the only difference is we beat them in game one. This is game seven. Who is to say we're not supposed to beat them in game seven? Right. Just because, just because it's there? We've already been there.
Starting point is 00:37:58 We've already done that. But there are some games, Joe, when he's scored 19, when he's going, when he's, when he's, hey, the mere fact that they're in this position. Right. The starters ain't give them much. Their bench was sensational. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:38:12 You can't say anything about that. Think about it. Hold on tonight. 23, 35, you got 37 points from your bench. Finally, finally, it was close. You got Dylan Harper. Dylan Harper hits some big threes tonight. Big threes.
Starting point is 00:38:28 Big threes tonight. Keel and the Johnson got on the glass. You see him getting that rebound and put that back and started barking. Hoof, hoo, hoo, this dog's at the house. He's the dog in the house. He the dog did the hop. I think, come on, Kel.
Starting point is 00:38:43 Kelle got on that glass on him. Yeah, and he said he's the biggest dog in this yard. He did. He absolutely did. I love what Harper brings to the game, bro, a 20-year-old rookie who looks like he's been in the league for seven or eight years, bro. I'm talking about fellas, it's hard to come by.
Starting point is 00:39:01 You know, they had, San Antonio had the number two pick this year, bro, and they drafted Dylan Harper. So to be in this position to where you got Harper, Castle, Wemby, Fox, for the future is so bright for these dudes. Joe. And Fox, hey, Fox played his ass off tonight. Game five and six, he played better. He got more points in game seven than he had him.
Starting point is 00:39:28 five and six combined. He looked good. He looked like, I was like, man, get up all the fox and let it work on these foods. Couldn't nobody stay in front of it. Man,
Starting point is 00:39:36 not Dork, not Caruso, not Wallace, none of them. You see how, he had all of them on the slipping slide. You see how fast that boy is out there, man? You're too quick.
Starting point is 00:39:45 Quick of the cat on a marble table. Too quick and too explosive. You know what I like about the young rookie harper too? What's that? The moment ain't too big for him, Joe. Nope. When ain't too big for him. Hitting those big threes like that.
Starting point is 00:39:58 Yeah. Beautiful. Now, I wish he's playing with confidence. That goddamn shit. Bad, bad. Come on. I don't mean to butcher's first name. But those are the shots he's supposed to be making a night at his height.
Starting point is 00:40:16 Ocho. He ain't take but two. You can't make no shots if you don't take any. You got to give yourself a damn chance. You're not playing with confidence. That's why you're not taking the shots. But when they put that, you're right, Ocho, because you look at who they had,
Starting point is 00:40:32 they had Vaseel gardening man. Oh, man. They got Vasell gardening. No, no. The Vasell is a hell of a defender. But at seven foot, I ain't hovered. And maybe that's how they got him playing, Joe, because they don't really use him in the post-up game
Starting point is 00:40:48 because that's not his game. He posts around because you won't, you won't Shay to have access to the paint. I'm sorry. I wish I could agree with you on that, but I can't, because I'm going to tell y'all why. They write that pick and roll numerous of times tonight, and Fox was switched on him a couple of times. His ass didn't duck in, didn't make itself big or nothing.
Starting point is 00:41:11 He just circam to the switch and then goes out to the corner three. I'm like, bro, stand right. Get a damn three seconds. Make their ass throw you the damn ball. Ain't a way in hell Fox supposed to be guarding him. Guess who's on the weak side? I don't care who are, but he got to come over there. You go care.
Starting point is 00:41:30 Listen, he's going to have to come over and help and let me spray to the corner. But listen, if we just going to let Shea playing isolation the whole game, yeah, I know he kind of got it going in this game. But the damn fourth quarter, he ain't got nothing in the tank. But that's what, Joe, what did you say? Let She let She get his and shut the water off for everybody else. That's what you've been preaching. But the only reason they want.
Starting point is 00:41:56 Water, shut out, because, hell, you ain't giving yourself a fighting chance? I didn't know rhythm. The man, I'm not even trying. He's not even trying. I just been clapping all night. Now all of a sudden, Joe, Ocho, he want me to go get a basket, and I've been using these hands to clap. Oh, the man played 33 minutes, bro, took two shots. Come on, man.
Starting point is 00:42:15 He's scared. There's only one answer behind that. Hey, Ocho. You only take two shots. I'm nervous. The moment is too big for me. I'm not confident in my shot. I'm not in rhythm.
Starting point is 00:42:28 I agree because I'm not going to even lie. There was a few times, especially the times, Wimby Garden, he don't even look at the damn rim. I told you. He don't even look at the rim. Don't get this ball, man. Like, he don't even make himself a threat. But not only that, I think when San Antonio was making shots like higher,
Starting point is 00:42:46 bro, they're going to be impossible to be. Yeah. Like, you know what I mean? Like, when they get off the starts like that and they three after three, I mean, hell, they were 17 for 40 from the three, fellas, at 42% bro, that's pretty damn good. On the road, game seven?
Starting point is 00:43:01 In the game seven, Joe, it would think about it. Because every time Wallace hit one, Champany come right back behind him and hit one. And then they hit somebody else hit another one. Here comes Champany right behind him. Yeah. Fox, right behind him. Dylan Harper right behind him.
Starting point is 00:43:21 So it was every time, every time you do something, okay. They had an answer. They had an answer. And see, that is where OKC normally gets their opponent. Because when they go on their run, normally teams don't have an answer. Go back and look at them in the first round. Phoenix might have a lead, but then when they go on the run, they can't suppress it. You look at the Lakers.
Starting point is 00:43:48 Every time they couldn't, nobody could answer it. And so now all of a sudden, you got somebody that's just as young. just as athletic and they got a guy that's seven four and a half seven five that can make shots that's not afraid to take a shot joe did you see that man pull up from the three yeah yeah i did that man put a step back he's about to drive on jaylon will you he said no he said come here he said can i have this dance he said you've been a wallflower all night nobody asked to dance with you shall i bop hey hey man look here this is unbelievable Unbelievable, man.
Starting point is 00:44:27 It is crazy. You know, it's 22 corn from champagne. Hold on. Hold on. It's unbelievable to y'all. Oh, here he goes. It's happening. I'm going to tell you, it's unbelievable.
Starting point is 00:44:39 We got to sit here and listen to this all night, man. No, Joe, I'm just telling you. Damn. Respect. Joe, I mean no disrespect. What you saw tonight, what you wits tonight, it's unbelievable to y'all. I told you what was going to happen.
Starting point is 00:44:53 And you know what? Who you got in the final, Joe? I got the spurs there. Yeah, we go again with the bullshit. Uncle, you got the final. We got another game between before they play again. So we got, we got tomorrow night, we got Monday night, we're good. What you mean?
Starting point is 00:45:08 Right now, right now, Joe, you ain't got a pick. Let's just, let's focus on this game. No, no, no, no, no, no, don't do that. Yeah, we got Monday. What's you scared of? We're going to pick all the, we're going to pick the games on Monday. Okay, we'll wait. I mean, listen, your answer ain't going to change from now to Monday.
Starting point is 00:45:23 You don't know my answer is. Hey, he says. Hey, he's feeling good tonight. Hey, the boy, early as I don't know what. Time out. I've been feeling good since the NBA playoff started because I knew it was going to happen. I got every playoff series right.
Starting point is 00:45:37 Everyone, that's not luck. That's ball knowledge, which y'all don't have. You jank his hell. Hey, respect, respect. Today, Ocho, you know today was Harrison Barnes' birthday? Yeah. And the man went off on his birthday. What a hell of a year.
Starting point is 00:45:55 You got a chill. Hey, you got a chill. Hey, you got a chill. You got a... They got a win for him on his birthday. Hey. Who. Man, listen, I've been running the people.
Starting point is 00:46:08 That's all they've been talking about how they thought the Spurs was going to win. And this, I be dowgone. And the boys did that, man. They did that. That's the thing, though, Joe. You know this. In a game seven, it ain't promised. It ain't, bro.
Starting point is 00:46:22 People just think, well, they're at home. Okay, and? Because in order, if you're the home team, in order for it to get the game seven, the visiting team had to have won one game in your place. If you win one, why can't you win two? Hey, the prop, the thing that the Spurs can do, that not very many teams, if any, can do, they can match up with them, talent for talent, athlete for athlete. I don't know if any other team can match up with them like that, Joe.
Starting point is 00:46:54 When you look at, you look at Champini and. Vassel and Castle and Kelton Johnson and Dylan Harper. Oh, we can go with Jalen Williams. We can go with Caruso. We can go with McCain. Yeah, we can Asel Joe. We can match up with him. Player for player.
Starting point is 00:47:10 But we got something. Y'all don't. He's seven five. Hey. Hey, I'm glad. I love that little soliloquy, you know, you just gave on the Spurs. But for some reason, knowing everything you know,
Starting point is 00:47:26 for some reason, y'all still. You pick the Thunder. You pick Miami to make the playoffs. Who? Ocho. When? This year. Pride is like love.

Starting point is 00:48:11 Nope, it's podcast time. We get to ask other people questions because we're sick and tired of being asked questions. Hey, Jonas is available now, and their first guest is a big one. Paul Rudd. You know, Steve Carell is a great singer. Can you tell you not to audition at the office or something?
Starting point is 00:48:24 I told him. Whoa. We were filming Anchorman. Clearly, I was the in. idiot. Thank God he didn't listen to me, right? Starting point is 00:49:08 And I'm C.J. Toledano and our podcast Point Game is about defining the odds. Like LeBron heading into the playoffs without Luca and Austin Reed. And finding ways to win no matter what. He's the smartest player to ever play the game. His IQ is at a level that we've never seen before. And he knows without Luca and Austin Reeves, I got to manipulate the game. We get a player's perspective on the challenges of the playoffs.
Starting point is 00:49:31 I think Joker's going to be exhausted this series because when they don't have Rudy in the lineup, he has to really guard guys like Nas Reid. He has to guard Julius Randall. And then he has to give us everything he gives us on the night-to-night basis on offense. And when IT's friends stop by, like Quentin Richardson, we dive into some playoff history too. Steve Nash would get that thing. That man, hell get to fly. He running up the court, licking his fingers, why he got the ball.
Starting point is 00:49:55 Like, you go through a training camp with that, I said, you figure it out real quick. Get your ass up and down the court, and you're going to get the ball. So listen to Point Game on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Here's something that should not be as complicated as it is. Getting a racist statue removed. And here's something that should be a whole lot easier than it is. Getting a new one put up in its place. As long as there's a politics of race in America, there's going to be a politics of
Starting point is 00:50:25 remembering the Civil War. To get to school, I had to go down Robert Lee Boulevard. Get to the grocery store, I had to go down Jefferson Davis Parkway. If you're an historian and you leave out half of what the history is, you're not doing your job. I'm Akila Hughes. In Rebel Spirit, Season 2 goes deep on both of those things. The fights, the politics, the people who won, and my personal campaign to add something to the Kentucky State House that's actually worth the wall space.

Starting point is 00:51:11 Me? Come on, man. Come on, man. Stop it. Damn. What a minute. When did I say that? You said the heat was going to make the playoffs.
Starting point is 00:51:24 They got the play in. Oh, we got these boys here. Hold on. I was just playing. No, no, no, he played. Hold on. Were you playing when you picked the Spurs? When it, when it mattered, when it mattered most,
Starting point is 00:51:36 when it was time to get serious, when the playoff started, when the, when the, when it, not playing, when the playoff started, I told you every series and how it was going to go. And it played out exactly how I said. And the same thing going to happen for the finals. I tell you what,
Starting point is 00:51:51 I'm not even going to tell you who will win the finals, but I know one thing, New York City going to be flipped upside down. Wemby is the 2026 Western Conference Most Valuable Player, the Urban Johnson Trophy. That's what is named after Urban Magic Johnson. The Eastern Conference have the Larry Bird Trophy. Here's a video of Wimby receiving the trophy.
Starting point is 00:52:28 Boy, I show him when that joke to have kids and hold something over his head and the kids try to get it. Hey, hey. Hey, the kids going to have to be on top of the house and he has to come in the district. Hey, man, let me tell you y'all something. real talk.
Starting point is 00:52:41 They make, their young man there is determined. He's determined to win this year, bro. Yep. He has an attitude and it's infectious because it runs through the rest of those guys who compete on their team with him. And they love him, bro.
Starting point is 00:52:56 You can see it. It's oozing out of them. And he's leading right. You know, he comes in, he plays hard, he plays the right way. He plays winning basketball. And he is a human cheat code.
Starting point is 00:53:08 He is a human cheat code. He is. That's it. I think sometimes the greatest, a leader's greatest attributes is how he treats his teammates. Yeah. How he gets them ready to play. Not only does he lead by example,
Starting point is 00:53:25 they see how hard he works. They see he's in early, probably out late. They see how hard he plays on the court. It's, oh, you got to realize there ain't very many people. They ain't ever been that many people that's ever been alive that's been that tall. he ain't he's not clumber some he gets up and down I mean most guys they can't they that's like they can't move slow he can move well no he ain't no he ain't shot he can't get up and down the court like a shack but to be seven five and a half seven four to have seven
Starting point is 00:54:01 five with shoes and it's as hard as he plays bro he's trying to get back on defense yeah it's take it. I'm watching him. He playing so hard, Joe, about two minutes into the game, he already got his hands on the shorts. It takes a lot to fuel that big body. Hey, you got to get through that second win. You got to get, because, you know, you got to blow through that first. Oh, because the pressure is so high, this game seven. So, so as a game, soon as the tip go, you, you, you're in four throttle. Like, yeah, you didn't even take the damn breath and you don't even know it. So by the time you figure out, are you grabbing your shorts? But I agree.
Starting point is 00:54:38 The intensity is so thick, Joe. Oh, my. That's why you can't breathe. It's because the intensity is sucking the ball to oxygen. You understand the gravity of this game. Yeah. Man, it was unbelievable that the way they came out, you could tell the way they came out, Joe,
Starting point is 00:54:54 the first two minutes of the ball game. I was like, boy, okay, see, y'all got your hands full tonight. Yeah. Yeah, it ain't taking nothing but the first play for me, okay, Ocho, seriously. When he caught it at the three, and he drove on Hardinstein, and he gave him that bump,
Starting point is 00:55:08 And he shot it off the glass. I said, oh, shit. It's going to be a long night. It's going to be a long, because that's the last thing you want, bro, is for their best player to get an easy bugger to start the game. And now look how he get back on defense. He's pointing.
Starting point is 00:55:23 He's ready. Yep. It's too. Hey, you let him get going, bro. It's hard to cool. Next thing you know, it's a ripple effect. Everybody's knocking down shots now. Everybody's playing hard.
Starting point is 00:55:34 He then built the league up to about 13, 14. I said, man, listen. Listen, damn. Players with 175 plus points and 15 blocks in a conference finals, there have only been three. Prior to this series, they had only been two. One, Shaquille O'Neal, the other, Hakeem Elijah won, and now Wembe joined this elite, illustrious group to this list.
Starting point is 00:56:04 players with 175 plus points, 15 plus blocks and a conference finals. Wimby responds to the criticism for crying on the court. Personally, I refuse to carry the burden of hiding my emotions. I love it.
Starting point is 00:56:19 Because you know what they do. They try to, well, such and such didn't try it. That's him. Well, such and such didn't do that, that's him. Yeah. Bro, look here. I got some, I got clean eggs. You're going to play like that?
Starting point is 00:56:37 This dude is unbelievable, man. He might be, when it's all saying done, he might be one of the most liked NBA players in the history of the game. And we've had some beloved players. Yes. But it's hard to find someone, even if you don't root for the Spurs,
Starting point is 00:56:55 to dislike this young man. It is, bro. He's doing everything right, huh? He's doing everything right. Some players, just the way they carry themselves, they're just likable. Yeah. It's likable.
Starting point is 00:57:06 But then you're always going to have, You're always going to have, you know, your select few who won't find a reason to hate for no reason. Yeah. Even though there isn't. There's really nothing you could find to say really bad about it. Nothing. They being critical of someone showing emotion. At what point?
Starting point is 00:57:23 At what emotion bad, Joe? Every player, there's only one player that had a positive plus minus. That was Jalen William. He came off the bench from 26 minutes, gave you a double, double. He gave you 11 points. 10 rebounds, four assists. He was plus 10. Big hole.
Starting point is 00:57:41 Minus 14. Chet, minus three. Shea, minus seven. Lou Dort, minus nine. Cason Wallace, minus three. Caruso, minus five. Kendrick Williams, minus one. Jerry McCain, minus eight.
Starting point is 00:57:58 Hmm. Those boys, those boys, young men, they ball their ass out tonight. Cardio, Chet. All NBA, all NBA, gave you four point, four rebounds. Hey, Dylan Harper came off the bench. He was a rookie, gave you seven rebounds. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:58:20 Chet had four. Listen, the Spurs have grown throughout this whole postseason, fellas, starting with the Blazers to Minnesota. Yes. The OKC, I felt the Minnesota series prepared them for this series because of the physicality, and Wimby knew how he had to respond, knew how he had to play, knew how he had to play through the physicality. I thought he was terrific, you know, pretty much throughout every game this series, man.
Starting point is 00:58:54 Except that one, Joe. Which one? You're about Wimby? Yeah. You remember Game 5, Joe? And there was a couple of games. He had one game. He had one rebound at the half.
Starting point is 00:59:04 I said, come on with me now. Yeah. Yeah. But since then, since that talk Pop had with him, Oh, yeah. Game six and seven. He was on fire. Hey, hey, he had it on his mind, man,
Starting point is 00:59:16 and you can tell from the start of the game. You look at game six in San Antonio, how he got off to that great start, you know, determined to put his stamp on the game. And this game seven, the way he started the game, bro, just being aggressive, putting his head down, getting to the basket. Hey, man, it ran through those other guys.
Starting point is 00:59:36 I think it oozes confidence into those other guys. I love what Castle has done. I think he will, he'll probably make a few defensive, uh, defensive teams. Okay, Oh, Joe,
Starting point is 00:59:49 Cassle. Oh, yeah, he should. Yeah. I mean, you, you look at what he done to Shay, uh,
Starting point is 00:59:55 the way he competed against Shay through this whole series. I ain't talking about just defense. I'm telling offensively going at his damn man too. Yeah. Plus the thing is, Joe. Okay,
Starting point is 01:00:05 you're like, well, Shay, what he didn't get his average this, what he didn't get his, he didn't get his regular season average. and he damn show didn't shoot the percentage that he shot in the regular season.
Starting point is 01:00:13 So that's because, and I thought all those guys, they didn't have no problem. Vassel would take him, Champany would take him, Dier and Fox would take him. Sometimes you can't be afraid of the moment. I think sometimes when they see these big time players come up,
Starting point is 01:00:29 and they're like, oh, Lord, have mercy. Oh, what, ooh, what did I? No, hell now. I'll be in awe of you tomorrow. Right. But today I'm going at your throat. You hear me? You got to work.
Starting point is 01:00:40 You got to work for every bucket. I'm not saying that you're not going to score. Yeah. But you best damn believe, I'm going to make it as difficult as possible I can on your ass. And you know what? For San Antonio, bro, they don't have no liabilities on defense. Even when you look at Fox, hell, he can guard his butt out.
Starting point is 01:00:58 You know what I mean? When he won't to, yes. Yeah, he can guard when he want to. But listen, when you put Harp in there, man, just seemed like it's just a different ball game because he plays like a big game. guard, a real big guard. You know what I mean? He's
Starting point is 01:01:14 always going to be under control. He's a young player, so he may give you a couple turnovers here and then. You have to live with them. Live with it. Bro, for a 20-year-old to be out there handling their pressure, the way he's handled their pressure, man, he's such a key component to what they do. The key
Starting point is 01:01:30 is that having a team early on your career and have a team surround you. Man. See, you know, Wimby is not going to have to wait four years, five years, six years. This team is already built.
Starting point is 01:01:44 Yeah. To his liking. You look at Ladd Bird. They go to a situation. He already got Michao. Yeah. He already got Parrish. Now, guess what they bring in?
Starting point is 01:01:55 They bring in Nate Archibald, tiny archibow. They get rid of Tiny Archibald, and guess what? They bring in Dennis Johnson. Yeah. And they already had cornbread. So think about that.
Starting point is 01:02:06 Yeah. Magic. He goes to a team. They got Kareem. They got Jemalalts. They got Storm and Norman Nixon. No. So he's not going to have to wait.
Starting point is 01:02:21 Well, you know, they need a few more pieces. They got every damn thing they need right now to win a championship. Forget competing. They got everything they need to win a championship. I agree. It's like because look, your bench is going to play a big role. And they got some great guys coming off their bench. Yes.
Starting point is 01:02:39 Harper and Kelton Johnson, even coordinated at times. I'm sure Harrison Barnes will be a little. a little better in the finals. Are you sure? Hey, but unc, I got a question. Hey, Uncle. Listen, when we talk about the Spurs, right, think about this. What are you expecting from Harrison Barnes
Starting point is 01:03:00 when he does get the two or three minutes that he does? Because all he's doing is he comes in to give someone else a rest. Ocho, why you think he only getting two or three minutes and not five, 10 minutes? Tell me why you think he only getting two to three minutes. Tell me what you think. In your best, in your basketball, you watch basketball. Your knowledge is not like Joe's and eyes.
Starting point is 01:03:21 But when you watch, why is he only getting two and three minutes and not eight to ten minutes? You got to come in making a difference. Oh, that's why. Hey, listen, come in, come in. Don't make any mistakes. Play defense. If you got a shot in you open, take your shot. If you miss, so be it.
Starting point is 01:03:41 But we need to give your start or whoever you're coming in for. We need to give them two or three minutes. Let them catch their breath before they come in. That's all. Just don't make no mistake. Minimize your errors. If you are, if you are 10-year vet, 10-year vet, 12-year vet. Talk to me.
Starting point is 01:03:55 And they, you're the third, you're the third receiver. You go in there, and the next day you know, next drive, they got the rookies playing in front of you. That's going to tell you something, ain't it? Hey, the rookie playing in front of them, them boy, them boys and boys and dogs now? I don't care who do I don't
Starting point is 01:04:17 guess what Adam played in front of rookies drafted in the first round until I leave you're not going to play unless I get Tyraise my hand and I'm tired you can come in
Starting point is 01:04:25 but you're not going to be in the beat me out for this job so where's your turn I think about what you're just saying the rookies that's playing in front of them is much better than he is
Starting point is 01:04:33 and they add a little bit more value they brought Carter Bryant in they bring it Sheldon in they're bringing everybody in besides you bro, bro, you, you were on a championship winning team as a key member.
Starting point is 01:04:50 Hey, hey, he's there for another great veteran presence. Yeah, we'll throw you in. We'll throw you in eight nine then. You know what I mean? If you're making shots, hell, we'll keep you in. They ain't making no shots. You got to come over here and coach him. Oh, you know what?
Starting point is 01:05:06 I know why he there. I know exactly why he there. Why he's the interpreter. Because when they kick, when they kick, him he explained to him he didn't nobody else know what to do he he could understand he could interpret for women that's why you there women say what they mean when wimby say what they mean you got ejected who got me they threw me out okay he explained to him in french huh yeah yeah so that what he there for hey boy look at this hey that extension kicks in for chet this season now in
Starting point is 01:05:42 In 26, 27, he'll make 41.3, 44.6, 47.9, 51.2, and 54.5 for a grand total of $239.3 million. And he didn't get the escalators for making all NBA. Had he made it, that would have an extra 45 on top of that. You can't be scared at a moment. That's all it is. You can't be scared at the moment. You got to take a shot.
Starting point is 01:06:10 Shooters, shoot us keep shooting. At your height, nobody should be able to do anything with you at there. Impose your will on whoever it is. Well, Joe, Ocho, if I go to the party, man, this party, boy, man, these girls ain't nothing. Well, how many do you talk to? I ain't talked to another. Not by the party, whatnot. So you thought they was just going to come up and you would just get you their number or ask you out?
Starting point is 01:06:34 Who did you talk to? Did you ask any of them? Did you ask any of them, you know, what's your name, where you're from, what you do? Yeah, man, I was just chilling, man, I was just okay. Yeah. Well, let me tell you, I had me a great old time. Yeah, you got to assert yourself in there, man. Hey, as a matter of fact, before they got the phone,
Starting point is 01:06:54 oh, hey, you know at the end of the night, everybody are pocketful of those ripped out on top of Lepo. Hey, hey, you heard what Joe just said, right? What's that? You got assert yourself. Uncle, you know what you got? Joe, you know what you had when you played? What?
Starting point is 01:07:09 You know what you had when you played? You're a confidence. confidence. Yeah. Confidence is all it takes in anything that you do. If you got that, you're good. He was not playing with confidence, which is why he only had two shots. Man.
Starting point is 01:07:25 He played like, but guess what? He played like confidence with he guarded by DeAndre Aiton. He's playing with confidence with he's guard, guard by Rui. But then all of a sudden, that's that alien. No. Bro, when he had, I'm telling you all, It was way too many times where he had a smaller guy switched on him. And he just, and he did nothing.
Starting point is 01:07:51 He didn't, he didn't try to duck in. He didn't try to get the mismatch. Okay, boy, I'm gonna get the double team. I'm gonna be able to swing, swing. We're gonna have a wide number three on the weak side. Bro, it was just like, he was just out there. Hold on Joe, when he did get the ball, when he did get the ball on the picks, on the switches,
Starting point is 01:08:09 he gave the ball up. Ocho the man. He didn't even look at the guy. Excuse me. I've been doing good without saying God damn. He didn't even look at the rim. He didn't, bro. He's looking to pass.
Starting point is 01:08:23 And they didn't need another damn pass. They needed somebody to assert themselves. Go with shape. Go with shape. To go with shape. Yeah. Yeah. It was like.
Starting point is 01:08:32 That pace with that intensity, Joe, you thought shade was going to be able to keep that up? Uh-uh. No. I thought somebody. They can run. They can run Castle at it. They can run Champany at him.
Starting point is 01:08:44 They can run for sale at it. They can put Kelton Johnson on him. They can put Carter Bryan on him. They can go Deer and Fox. So they got six guys. Now, maybe all don't defend them the same or equally as well, but I got six guys I can throw at one. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:09:00 Yeah. And, and. So he needed somebody to come along. Hey, bro. Hey, you know how I did it. Hey, man. I'm getting ready to take a trip. I'm going over here, man.
Starting point is 01:09:08 Such and such a son. You want to roll with your boy? man, I ain't got nothing else to do. Yeah, hell, yeah. Yeah. She's like, hey, man, this is a game seven, man. You know, I'm a ball out. Anybody else want to roll out with me?
Starting point is 01:09:20 Chair said, well, hey, let me find somebody that wanted to do. Hey. Hey. Hey, say he went there and ball a lot. Hey, you got a cheer. You got a cheer. You got a cheer. Hey, he's going to.
Starting point is 01:09:32 Hey. Hey, Joe, once that confidence is shot, boy? well it's hell getting it back man man oh cho back i know i know what he looked when they played against the lakers man man man this this this a this game seven these these guys are proven winners they've been in these situations before they played a game seven hell in the finals last year you know what i mean i think he didn't have to deal with the alien but i i get that but once she got it going tonight and san an Antonio started to switch up their defense, they started trapping them on the pick and rows, making him get a ball up.
Starting point is 01:10:12 Yeah. They were getting nothing when he was giving the ball up, bro. It's like, he'll get a ball up, some way somehow it'll find his way right back to him. When damn, y'all playing on, y'all playing on three, we got to be able to get something out of that. Bro, they weren't getting nothing out of those when they stopped. When San Antonio started putting that double team on Shay, they was not getting no easy buck.
Starting point is 01:10:33 It seemed like every point that O'KC had to come by. They had to work extra hard. And then you come down, boom, Champany for three, Harper for three, Fox for three. They were scoring at will. Hey, that's embarrassing. I told that, you know, about Shane looking for somebody to come along with me and Chet said, let me go find somebody because that actually happened. We were in the game one time.
Starting point is 01:11:02 And we needed a defensive lineman to go in there on PAT. Yeah. And the D-LIMA was standing right next to him. Coach said, God, damn. We need a D-Lyma. He said, hey, we need a D-Lyma. He'll D-Lyma standing right next to Coach. Colette, God, we need a D-Lama to get in there.
Starting point is 01:11:24 He's like, hey, Coach said we need a D-Lyama. He said, damn, then, I ain't going in now. It's stuff like that, Joe, that you know what? If you weren't there, you wouldn't. believe somebody like you, hey, get it. Nah, nah, that is for me. He missed somebody other than me. Right, right.
Starting point is 01:11:47 Julian Champini, game seven, 20.6 rebound. He was six of ten for the three point from the three pointer. That's the most threes by Spurs in a game seven. Damn. A spur, excuse me, in a game seven. Players to make over five threes in a conference final game, Splash Bros. Steph and Clay.
Starting point is 01:12:04 Now, Champini joins that list. Every big three, bro. He answered every bell, every call that the thunder put out, he answered it with a three of his own. He did. Hey, and Shay hit a tough, man, Shay hit one three, he was falling to his left. Hey, do whatever.
Starting point is 01:12:28 And even Wallace, hey, and the time running out, Jaylon Williams let one go, uh, Joe and no joke, he'd make it. Yeah, Champaign says, and. Yeah, right back at you. And I ain't scared. Yeah. I, hey, San Antonio showed me some, fellas.
Starting point is 01:12:47 I'm gonna be honest with you. I did not have them winning this game seven in OKC. Players with at least 125 points, 50 assists in the Western Conference Finals this century. Kobe, Russ, Shay, Stefan Castle. Again, Kobe, Russ, Russ. Shea, Stefan Castle. Hey, Stefan Castle is nice, fellas. He probably done grew on a lot of people.
