The wolves head into Denver and tie the series, excuse me, the series at 1-1.
Rudy Gobert, I thought this was the first time that I've actually seen someone actually bother
Nicola Yokic.
Rudy Gober bothered him tonight, Joe.
And this was one of the reasons that they won.
And Rudy, hey, the last couple of games, you only had two points, but your presence were
greatly, greatly felt.
Ant-Man was Aunt Man, Jew Randall did what Jew Randall does.
I mean, they just got an all-around team effort tonight.
And that was the difference in the ball game if they go in and get a 119, 114 victory over the
number nuggets. And now, Joe said the series doesn't start to the road team wins a game
on the opposing teams court and both road teams, two of the three road teams tonight,
one on the opposing team home court. Joe, how did Minnesota do it? They were down by 19
in the second quarter and all of a sudden you look up and they're tied at half.
Hey, man, they, there may no dogs over there, Uncle Ocho. They got some young wolves over there.
You hear me? Huh? Hey.
Hey, man, the resiliency that they showed in that first half to get down by, what, 18, 19 points,
and then come back and fight back and take the league.
And from there, you know, pretty much manage the game throughout.
I want to give a huge shout out to Rudy Goldberg and the challenge that he took.
Making Yokish take them tough shots off.
That's what it's about.
Not only that, but you see what Minnesota game plan is, Yokic, we ain't going to let your ass rest on defense.
No.
No, we're going to seek you out in this picking road.
We're going to go at you every time.
You're going to have to guard and you're going to have to score,
assists.
They make them work, man.
Hey, them boys look good tonight, man.
I thought what they did, I thought in the first half guys,
Yoke, just watching him,
he was really trying to get everybody involved.
Joe, he really wasn't doing anything.
And then all of a sudden...
He didn't shoot.
He didn't take his first shot to about three minutes in the first quarter.
And then you go look at Rudy gets some foul trouble in the third quarter,
and they bring Nas Reed in.
And all of a sudden, he started hunting.
I think he scored 16, 17 points in the third quarter
because he started running out.
He's like, oh, no, no, no, no, no, you got no chance.
You ain't got no bricks in your back pocket.
Even though Rudy might not have bricks in his back pocket,
he has lint that could disturb me, that can bother me.
You see tonight, eight of 20, one of seven from the three.
You can live with that.
You can live with that number.
And he only had eight assists.
So if I'm going to make him insufficient,
and I'm not going to allow him to have double digits,
Does that mean other guys are getting clean, easy looks?
Yeah.
I can live with that.
I just got one question, Joe, Ocho.
Yeah.
I'm trying to figure out what Jamar Murr was thinking.
They're down three.
He gets to pick from Yokic and has a shot at a clean three.
He passes it up to walk inside and take a two.
He had to be confused and thought they were down by two.
There is no other way to explain what he did.
Yeah, I think he was.
I don't know what he was thinking on that play, honestly.
But, man, he looked great in their first quarter.
Obviously, shooting 11 for 25.
If I'm Minnesota, I'm going to live with that.
Yes.
You know what I mean?
We're making all them.
We're making them dudes work, man.
We're limiting everybody else.
Hardaway came off the bench and gave you great production.
But for the most part, man, you just got to handle them two monsters.
And if you can collectively have guys from the Minnesota Timberwood step up,
Nogh, I like the Desamu kid from the Bulls.
I love the energy that he played with.
You know what I mean?
Bowls, Holland was good tonight.
Bones Highlo was big because he was the key.
He and the Somu, they were the key in the second quarter
to get them back in the ball game.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Go ahead, Ocho, what you like?
I mean, shit, tonight game, got damn, the wolves.
The wolves played really good.
Unk, they were down, they were down back.
Hell, a whole heave of a lot.
You know, in the first half, I thought it was going to be one of those games.
I'm going to just be honest with you, Unk.
I thought I was going to turn it off.
And, you know, in the second quarter,
I thought it was going to be a blowout.
Not only were they losing by 17, 18 at one point,
Yogis wasn't even doing nothing.
He wasn't even doing nothing.
He was just facilitating.
He hadn't even inserted himself into the ball game yet.
Hell, I get up.
I go to goddamn Waffle House.
I come back.
But, hey, Joe, the game tied up.
The game is tied up.
Let's talk about, you know, the word you use, resiliency.
I can't even spell it, but I know how to say it.
And that's what the Bull's word tonight.
God damn ant man is going to always be Ant Man.
DeVicenzo?
but he came to play ball.
God damn Julius Randall came to play ball.
Listen, Rudy Gailer,
didn't give you nothing on offense,
but defensively using that length
to disrupt everything that your Joker wanted to do
was phenomenal.
Now, if we can get him to play like this
every goddamn night, you know,
maybe now on the defense's end
on the defense end always making things difficult for Yolkits,
I think they got a good chance.
Maybe not to win the series,
but it takes them young bulls the goddamn seven.
You don't think Minnesota got a chance to win?
Yeah, yeah.
The series, Joe?
Yeah.
This is what they did last time.
Hey, hold on.
I understand what you talk about.
Now, one of the missing pieces of the night for the goddamn nuggets now,
Aaron Gordon, we need something from you now, baby.
Aaron, we need, we need more from you outside of nine goddamn points now.
Hey, hey, I've seen a lot of wolves tonight.
I mean, I'm talking about dudes that were just relentless.
It was like almost on some real Debo backyard basketball type.
You know what I'm saying?
Like for real, Ocho, you know, like I always tell y'all, you know, in the playoffs, bro,
we already know your plays.
Now we just got to match this energy that y'all got.
You know playing in Denver, it's tough.
It's tough playing up there in the house.
You got some guys on hands on knees.
What?
I'm talking first quarter.
First quarter, you'd be gassing for air.
So I know what it takes to go in that building and win, bro.
and, man, Denver a tough team, but the Timberwolves, this is what I'm talking about.
When you had them other guys step up, when your bench play like that, Highland,
Osamu, and Reed, all those guys chip in with 10, 11, 12 point.
And you got your big, uh, Ant Man leading away.
Minnesota going to be tough to be, bro.
If I can make, if I can make Jamar Murray and Yokic shoot a combined 19 to 45,
I can live with that.
I know they had 50 points, but it would be inefficient.
The inefficiency in which they shot the basketball.
I live with that.
Yonke's going to give you 24 points on 20 shots, I live with that.
If Jamar Burr is going to give you 30 points on 25 shots, I live with that.
But I can't have Yokin give me your 24 or 11 shots.
I can't have Jamar Murray going to the free throw line and shooting 17, 18 free throws.
So they did a great job.
Remember, Joe, he shot 16, what was 16 to 16?
He was 2 or 2 for that.
Yeah.
So Finch, like that.
Like, hey, man, if we keep his ass off the line, if he makes tough shots, we got to live with that.
Got to live with that.
Got to.
Got to.
I mean, think about it.
He had two and one threes in the first quarter.
They had three and one threes in the first quarter.
And they were stood there.
Valanchunis, if you notice, Valanchunis didn't play anymore after that bulljave he pulled in the second quarter.
Yeah.
And it cost him the game late in the ball game because when Yoke was on the bitch, they couldn't get any offensive rebounds.
They can't get any deep as a rebounds.
So now the second chance points started to pile up,
all because they had lost confidence in Valentunas
because he was out of their bulljabbing around.
Picking up dumb files, getting technical calls.
He was just doing on some bull drives,
and he didn't see the floor game.
Hey, I'm giving it.
I like Jayton Daniels.
Let me tell you why.
Him and Rudy Gaubert are very keys to Minnesota winning this series.
I'm gonna tell y'all why.
Because of their length, they're both long and great defenders.
And if they can stay disciplined like they were disciplined in night,
okay, Ocho, not going for a lot of them, pumpfakes and all that,
contesting late, making yoghs shoot all them tough shots.
Hell, making Murray take over 25, taking 25 shots or more, bro.
You're gonna be in a little with that, you're gonna make it work.
Because remember now, Murray got out to that hot start.
He had 23 in the first half, Joe.
Yeah, but in the first quarter, hell, he was hot as fish.
Yeah.
That's why Yogish really wasn't shooting.
He's seen how hot he was.
He didn't want to mess with him up.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
But I thought Jay McDaniels kind of wore him down, too.
That's what I'm playing.
By chasing him, making it tough for him, picking him up.
And that's what you got to expect when it comes late in the games, bro.
That extended pressure is what's going to help you prevail if you got guys who can play that type of defense for 48 minutes.
I thought Aaron Gore and took some fours, some shots, some three.
I thought Jamar Murray, the frustration and the fatigue started a mound on them
and they took some really tough shots that was uncalled.
There's no way you taking a double-pump clutch, a three-point shot.
You can't tell me there's not a better shot to be had than what you just did,
Jamar Murray.
Ain't no way in here.
I mean, airballed it.
You can't tell me there's not a better shot to be had if you swing it one more time.
And, hey, maybe swinging and it comes back to you.
But I thought, look, and it wasn't.
Even though you can say, okay, Yoke and Murray didn't play well,
where there had to be a reason.
Okay, what was the reason that they didn't play well, Minnesota and Timberwoods?
Now, you look at Rudy and people go like, well, how y'all, y'all keep talking about Rudy?
The man had two points and no blocks, and he was a four-time defensive player of the year.
But all those shots that he altered, you look at Yokic.
Yolkich felt his presence.
All those guys coming to the lane, they felt his presence.
Sometimes it's not about blocking the shot.
Sometimes it's about making you think, no, no, I ain't got no.
Let me pull this thing back out.
Whereas before, Yokic was having his way with Rudy Goldberg.
And for the better part of his career, he's had his way.
But not tonight.
Rudy, Rudy deserved a game.
Joe, you said it.
Jew Randall played well.
He was 7 or 14.
Jade McDaniel, 7 or 15.
Dante Jiminchenzo, that big three that he pulled up from like 24, 25 was huge.
He had 16 big points.
Ant Man had 30
Nas Reid had 11,
Bones Island had 13.
But Rudy Goldberg,
those two points,
what you were able to do against Yokic.
That was the key,
the difference in the ball game.
Because if you let him be efficient,
he took 20 shots.
So if he shoot his normal 57%,
that means he's going to make 13 or 14 of those, Joe.
Right.
So now all of a sudden that's 24,
it's going to be 32, 34.
Yeah.
15 and 8.
Now we might be having a different discussion.
But the Minnesota Timber Wolf, y'all dug deep.
Y'all showed me something that's like a quarter.
Now, listen, we talk about them digging deep.
Obviously, you look at the series being tied one-one.
If I'm not mistaken, I think both of y'all, if I'm not mistaken, correct me if I am wrong.
When we talked about this series, I could have swore both of you picked the Nuggets to win.
Because I've got, it might have been you going to say, I'm not betting against Joker.
If I'm, correct me if I'm wrong.
I'm not betting on you.
the Nuggets.
No, I don't think I mean, we got to run the tape back, but I don't think I won't think I
might have to be, I'm just saying after seeing the game tonight, after seeing the way the Timber
Wolves played, does your decision on the goddamn Nuggets winning this series?
Does it change now based on the way the wolves played?
What do you think?
For me, no, because I don't believe Rudy Gobert can play like this three more games.
Okay.
Well, that's yet to be seen.
I think, but that is questionable.
Can, can Minnesota, can they carbon copy a game like this again?
You know, you got home court advantage now.
So can you go home, protect your house?
That's basically all you need to do now.
Okay.
Yeah.
Yeah, that's what.
I mean, look, but I think the thing is you've got to be careful.
Because if you're not careful, you'll have a letdowns and say, oh, we got, we did, we did what we came to do.
Right.
which was still a game and get home court.
And I bid damn if you don't go home and let your guard down
and they take it right back.
So the thing is now, and 10 is what you do,
you break serve, can you consolidate it?
Right.
You break somebody serve, now can you win the next service game?
Now you put pressure on them.
Now, if you let them, you can consolidate it,
what have you done?
You let them take home court right back.
Yeah, and that's the thing.
That's what you don't want to do.
Because, you know, when you, hey, when you're playing on the road,
It's just you and your team.
You feel me?
Like, you know it ain't nobody else out there with y'all.
It's just y'all.
So you know you got that.
You feel me?
Ain't nobody really in your space?
You know what I mean?
Meaning like your family, maybe your wife, your girl, your kids, all that.
But, man, when you get back home, you know, all that's now, you know, now you're back picking
up kids from school and you're doing all this extra stuff.
I'm keeping it real, bro.
And then you start to let your guard down a little bit.
And now in game three, you're like, damn.
We did all that for nothing.
You let your guard down, Joe, because you know why?
You're at home.
You're comfortable.
You don't got comfortable.
You know what I'm saying?
When you on the road, that ain't your bed.
Hey, you get your ass up.
You walk downstairs, you eat breakfast.
You know, you go to shoot around, you know what I'm saying, on the road.
But now you're in your whip.
You drive into the stadium, listen to your tombs.
You're doing all the stuff that you don't normally do on the road.
So you don't got comfortable.
Whereas before you weren't comfortable.
And so they come in, they flip the road.
They're uncomfortable.
They're desperate.
They know that they, hey, in order, because now Minnesota said, all we got to do is just hold serve.
We ain't got to win another game in Denver.
All we got to do is hold serving home, and we're good.
Hey, boy, I can see, I can see Kevin Gardening in there right now.
Okay.
Yeah, Joe, Joe, Joe, you own it.
But Joe, you know something, don't you?
Yeah, I've been trying to tell you.
And that one thing about it, but Joe,
Joe, this is one game.
What?
It's one game.
It's just a guy.
We got more games to talk about, but this jazz is just one game.
But we end up the playoffs start.
When a team wins or when a team wins away.
Hello.
Joe, I'm with you, Joe.
I'm with you, Joe.
Hey, we got some bad.
We're playing some basketball.
Hey, Joe, matter of fact, hey, you're smart.
But you know something about this thing.
It almost act like you played before, huh?
Yeah, hey, hey, listen, listen.
I didn't have my fair show at Ocho.
I kind of, I know a little something.
You know what I mean?
Yeah.
It looked like it.
Yeah.
Hey, you in the hole, too, by the way.
Whoa, whoa.
I wait, I wait, I wait, I wait, go ahead.
I wait.
Oh, yeah, I just thought, I just thought, I mean, I was thinking the same thing.
Everybody was thinking.
They got out to that great start.
What they scored 37, 39 points in the,
first quarter, you're up 19 and the second quarter.
And then all of a sudden, you get bones, holland, you get the soul mood, you get those
guys come in, and they chip away.
And before you know it, a 19-4-D, and all of a sudden, it's eight.
And all of a sudden, it's four.
And all of a sudden, you're like, hold on, they don't care back a damn tuck to lead.
Now the Nuggets got to scrap back to the tightest thing up to go into the half.
Yeah.
I'm like, what, damn.
But Valanchunas, bro, you pull your pants down the night, man.
That was awful.
Think about it.
He played three minutes.
There's a reason why.
You play a Yonich.
He's supposed to be coming in because he's a big that can score if need be.
He can, hey, he can set great picks.
He can rebound the basketball.
What was that?
Man out there playing.
Pick their two quick file.
Hey, boy, hey, look.
And in three minutes down for.
Hey, if I'm, if I'm Ant Man and Drew Randall,
boy, I'm thinking the bench, Nise Reed.
Bones, Highland, to Samu, I'm thinking Rudy Goldberg,
because listen, them dudes won you that game today.
Now, you know, we're going to need him and Amman to step up.
You go home, your big guns got a fire for you.
Because your role players did what they're supposed to do on the road, Joe.
Man, man, man.
Hey, that was huge, bro.
Hey, but you do.
But I do expect the road guys to play a little better at home, too.
I know this is a good game for him,
but I expect one of them to, I expect Knives Reed to have a 20-point, 25,
five-point game in one of these,
in one of these games,
this series.
Oh, Joe,
Aaron going,
got to give him a little bit more.
Spencer Jones.
Spencer Jones got some good cardio in there tonight.
Ten minutes,
no points,
no field goal attempts.
He did get two rebounds,
but he has a nice cardio,
so he don't have to do any conditioning
after the game, Joe.
His legs nice and loose.
I thought Tim Hardaway,
you and you play well, bro.
Bro, how you go perfect
from the three-point line
and you miss your free throw?
I'm Luke Wilson.

I'm Miles Turner.
And I'm Brianna-Sourt.
And our podcast,
Game Recognized Game,
has never been done before.
Two active players
giving you a real look
at our lives and what we actually think
on and off the court.
Nothing's off limits. We talk trade requests.
What's the vibe of that
when it's like your star player is like,
well, I want to leave, and then actually now I'm going to stay.
We talk tanking.
I mean, honestly, like,
I might get in trouble for this answer, but I think it's like
definitely happening in the WBA.
And yeah, we talk about our mistakes too.
They pulled me to the side and was like,
hey, man, we got a call last night, man.
You can't be rolling around the city like this
tonight for games, no, you know, doing this, doing whatever.
And of course, family stories.
They'll be like, Mommy, why did you miss that?
Mommy, do you play basketball?

American soccer is about to explode.
The World Cup is coming.
I'm Taboramos.
I'm Tom Vogue.
On our podcast, Inside American Soccer, you'll get the real storylines.
I'm not worried about Policic.
I'm not worried about Balagan.
I'm not worried about McKinney.
My only concern is what happens in the back.
The biggest decisions.
If you're going to look at stats and numbers, he has no shot at making this World Cup team.
And the truth about the U.S. national team.
It wouldn't be a huge surprise if our team ends up in the quarterfinals or potentially a great run into the semifinals.
The World Cup is almost here.
Experience it all with us.

Damn, Frito.
They got beat on the glass.
I mean, you know, normally, Yolke's, he's giving you 13 a night.
He gave you 15 tonight.
Yeah, yeah.
Hey, look, they're getting good, good, I mean,
I thought there was a big game from Tim Hardaway.
They got some pretty good contribution from guys.
Bruce Brown played well too, Joe.
Yeah, he did.
He did play well.
He did play well.
But I just believe in Minnesota bench more than I do.
The Nuggets.
Minnesota, I'm for real, man, they got some guys who you can get to.
They can go get you a bucket for real.
Like, them boys, hey, boy, listen.
Minnesota showed me something.
Because who used to people?
Who you saying?
Oh, yeah, you know he came from them.
Yeah, you ain't hit the booze when he came in the game?
Yeah, yeah, he felt like they sliding him over there.
You know they're going to get his best.
They let him hear it a little bit.
Yeah, oh, yeah.
No, yeah.
But, you know, he wanted to play well.
He did.
He hit some big threes, four or five from the field,
two or two from the free throw line.
But, yeah, I mean, you look at their bench.
They gave you 33 points.
The bench gave you 33 points.
Outscoring them by plus 10.
They out rebounding them, out assisted them, had more steel.
Yeah, they outworked them.
It was just what the first few minutes.
The whole team went for the Timberwolves.
The guys played well.
And I think the thing is when you're on the road and you down, it's easy.
Crowd is going crazy.
Yeah.
You've all been on the road and the home team get off to a great start.
They jump out on a show, you know, 10, nothing, 14, nothing.
Yeah.
Everybody going crazy.
But, hey, you just, hey, all.
All of a sudden, you get to make a play, defense gets a turnover, you get a score.
And next thing you know, the defense stops them, you back on the field, and now we've got to talk part of a tie ball game.
Okay, let's play.
Once Minnesota got that thing even, okay, now let's play basketball.
Yeah, hey, hey, they settled in.
Play now.
Sometimes all you got to do is relax, take a couple deep breaths, bro, and that's what it seemed like happened.
Because once they made themselves and themselves came in and got to it, they got right back in the game.
And from that point on, it was neck and neck.
I mean, they took the league, you know what I mean?
Went up by like six at one point, I think was probably.
But they shocked me.
I didn't think they could keep the pace up, Arcan Ocho.
When they came back, I said, boy, them boys doll tired out there.
They steady bending over grabbing their shorts.
I said, hell, ain't no way.
I said, fourth quarter.
I said, that's when they're going to jump down on them.
Hey.
And boy, stay in chopping wood.
If I'm a, if I'm in Nuggets, I'm looking at Aaron Gordon.
I'm looking at Spencer Jones and Valancho.
like Tupac was standing at that locker.
When they opened up,
when they closed that locker
and Tupac standing right there looking at them,
that's how I'm looking at them.
In juice.
In juice.
Yeah.
Boy, that was a boy guy tonight.
Ain't no way you're supposed to lose.
That team with those two guys running the show,
you won a championship.
And those guys probably that the check,
well, we know Yokic is going to be,
Yokic, Wemby,
and Shay probably going to be unanimous
first team all this.
NBA selection.
Absolutely.
And you get a 19-point lead,
you got to be able to hold that.
Yeah.
You got to be able to hold that.
Hey, this is a tough matchup for Denver, man,
because of Minnesota's length.
You know what I mean?
Like, we talked a lot about Minnesota
how great they are offensively,
how good yoghage is, offensively.
But defensively, hell, he could be a liability out there.
Oh, Joe.
Hey, Joe, they put,
hey, Uncle Joe, they put yoghage in that goddamn
blender and that guy
I mean I call the pick and roll of blender
and you know you put the big man in a blender man
having him turn like a goddamn merrygo
round top. She ain't ain't
nothing he could do.
Now hey listen they were seeking him out of time
they would just if it's like if he was
going to Ocho I throw it to Ocho you got to go into
your bag you got to go at him. That seemed like what
Minnesota game playing was. It was like
man look we can't let his ass rest
on defense. If he's going to play
in that they switched him off
or Jew Randall and put him on McDaniel.
And they put Aaron Gordon
And you deal with it because you know
Hey, Jew going to put his head out
He's going to put that cross over on you
And he's going to get to that left hand
And he'll lay it up
Yes, sir
You already know what he's going to do
Hey
I like I like Julius Randall energy too
He got to keep that same energy
He can't be out there deferring to Ant Man
He got to be aggressive when need be
You know what I mean
Ant Man going to be Ant Man
He's going to do his thing
But I think when he has another guy
Meaning Jew Randall
I like even McDaniels
when he starts to be aggressive sometimes offensive going in his man.
Man, don't let none of these dudes rest, bro.
Hey, they got a nice squad, bro.
They can really do something.
They do.
And they play, they play well tonight.
Joe, the Atlanta Hawks led for just 3% of the game,
but it made it count escape to a 107-106 victory in game T over the Knicks.
CJ liked the gagged away, but anyway,
Roe victory stunned the fans of CJ McCullum poured in 32 points.
He outdued Jalen Brunson and the Knicks
while even in the series 1-1.
The Knicks had been 40 and 1 in the postseason
since the advent of the shot clock era,
which happened in 1954-55
when leading by 12 or more points in the third quarter
after three quarters.
The only loss,
Reggie Miller scored 25 points in the fourth quarter
in game five, the famous
in the 1994 Eastern Conference Finals.
Joe, how are your hawks able to pull it off?
Luck.
Hey, hey, Ocho, to win,
hey, to win in the playoffs, sometimes you need a little luck,
yes, sir, I'm with you when you're right now.
Hey, but, but, I don't think this was luck.
I think, you know, without Brunson,
I know he kind of, you know, he kind of had it going early,
but for the most part, man, we kept everybody at bay.
It wasn't like, you know, I know they got up on us a little bit,
but for the most part, when we came back in the second half,
it's like everybody started to get a little tight.
you know, coming down the stretch.
And I just felt the hawks just kind of stuck with it.
We kept getting turnovers, big plays after big plays, big threes.
And I just wanted to stay close within the last five or six minutes, man.
I'm telling you, I think CJ just was a hell of a pickup.
Uncle Ocho, when y'all are watching out there, y'all see the poise and patience that he plays with.
He's under control.
The boy got a real bop-bop on him.
He almost made Brunson touch Earth one time.
He hit that boy with that.
Heim-h-h-h-heen.
You feel me?
Hey, a C.J.
in a great spite, bro, because these young dudes, they're looking for him to leave.
And although we got a superstar in Jalen Johnson, he's still learning on the fly.
You feel what I'm saying?
He's still learning on the fly, uh?
He's going to play a lot better at home.
Hey, Joe, like I tell you y'all.
Hold on, hold on, hold on.
But this is what I was telling y'all, Ocho.
I'd rather for a start on the road so these guys can really see what playoff basketball is like the atmosphere.
C.J. him been there been there been there.
He didn't play it against him.
champions, you know, a lot of them, them battles he had with the Warriors when he was
in Portland.
But we got some guys who are very inexperienced in the playoffs.
So, but, you know, they're eager to learn.
I think they're going to play a lot better at home.
And I think it was great to have CJ on the road lead these guys down to charge.
I'm talking about from the start to finish.
I just felt CJ was consistent.
He got others involved.
And when it was time for him to step up and make big plays, Angin-Ocho, he did that.
Now, he got to meet me at the practice of tomorrow.
He got a free throws.
He got 200.
He gagged.
He got that pressure.
He felt that.
Hey.
He felt that, Joe.
And he kept saying in the goddamn interview.
He kept saying, my free throws.
Almost.
I'm going to burn my money, man.
Hey.
Joe.
We beat him up the other night.
The guy that got them back was Kaminga.
Come on, eh.
Kamingo put that ball on the floor.
Camingo put his hair.
There you go.
And he did an unbelievable job because when they went small and took a Kanghu out, he
had the guard cat.
Yeah.
Man, that man had Cat out there.
God, dig it.
I told y'all, man.
I told y'all, man.
I told y'all.
I told y'all.
Hey.
I don't know, I don't know why he'd do it.
Listen, bro.
I told y'all, uh, comminga.
Cominga is not a little bitty dude, bro.
He can fight cat.
And I think he doesn't.
Hey, much.
Yeah, but what I'm saying is, what I'm saying is, yeah,
Cat might get him a couple times.
That's cool.
But for the better part of it, he'll wear a cat down to the, you know,
I feel like he just got more endurance.
You feel what I'm saying?
And when we play small like that,
you see how Camingo was just coming in, attack, and being aggressors?
That's how he got to play.
From now on, that's how he drive.
You remember that?
We're not running no place for you, bro.
You got to get it.
How you get it.
We pass you the ball up ahead.
Yeah.
Hey, you go attack, you get on the attack early.
And that's what he did.
You see that?
He got a couple of AM ones early because he attacked early.
Bro, right now that's not your game where we go, hey, you just, aha, da-da-da-da-da-da-da.
Right, right.
What you are is to put your head down and hit him with the float or get to the rim and flush.
That's what you are.
And we just talked about that, Joe, the other night when they did win, what is Kamenga's role?
We didn't know what his role was
or the fact that he didn't have a role
but Uncle said it's just the right way
Once you get in there
Just play basketball
You don't need to think
Just be able to read and react
And just go and do what you did the night
Obviously being able to frustrate cat
Again, who need to do
And take advantage of them being small
Get your ass down on the goddamn block
In Bangal Lippetianian.
Hey listen, go ahead Joe
Listen for Kaminga
He just got to continue to keep playing
I mean, let his defense fuel his offense because they really got him going.
He was in the passing lane.
You know what I mean?
Just coming up, just causing havoc on defense.
That was fueling our fast, breaking our offense, and we was getting easy buckets left
and right.
They got to keep doing that, bro.
They got to keep applying pressure on them dudes, man.
They're going to, hey, they're going to choke.
The property, the thing in the Camino, and probably from the scouting report,
if Kat can't get that post position, he'll get frustrated and then get you going to
going back out, just going back out to the three-point line.
Right.
So, the, Mingo fought for the initial charge.
Yeah.
There you go.
And so now, Kat go get frustrated and going to get him up.
He ain't looking like, hey, swing it.
Hey, let me repost.
Right.
That's not him.
That's not him.
Hey, hey, hey, he won't, you seen him out there hitting them threes.
He's stowling it.
I'm like, yeah, yeah, yeah.
You see him?
Yeah.
Yeah, you see him?
Yeah, you see him.
I'm like, yeah, okay.
Okay, just let us stay close.
Let us stay close.
He can have it fun.
Look, Spike Lee Nim over there.
Hey, listen, y'all know Spike Lee graduated from Moorhouse,
so he'd feel to come down and try to buy all the tickets.
But we can't have that.
We can't have that in, hey.
Hey, we can't have that.
Hey, you know it's going to be a lot of blue and orange out there, man.
Come on now.
It is.
It is.
But, yeah, yeah, the Hawks played really well.
I mean, you look, look at the Hawks.
They had one, two, three.
They have four guys in double figures.
led by Jonathan Cominga.
I thought he played really well.
He played excellent.
Seven to 12, one or four,
four, six,
free throw line,
four rebounds and assists.
Oh, yeah.
Stills, he had blocked.
He played really, really well.
And had he and,
Corey Crespart tied for the highest
plus minus and plus 10.
Yeah.
I think this is,
that's a tough matchup for the Knicks.
Especially, like I told y'all,
you put him at that four,
five spot him and uh jalen johnson that's a tough combination to have to guard yeah and you know you know
who didn't get you really nothing the night to uh joe that imagine especially when they get back home
and they play at home nekia alexander walker no you know he gonna play you won the game tonight
was was c jac mccullum did obviously got damn jaylon johnson showed up to the party but nekea
alexander walker ain't even he can come to the party he ain't show up he ain't show up hey look he played
And he played hard, Ocho.
He played defense, though.
I thought late in the ball game, he made some big time plays.
That strip that he got on Brumson.
I thought he played, you know, when you play in Brunson,
and you got to play that kind of minutes,
it's going to take some of your offensive game away.
That's why you always try to put one of your best offensive players
on a weak defensive player.
It takes a special somebody to be able to dig deep on both ends,
give it to you offensively,
and still be able to take one of the two,
or one or two or three best opposing offensive players
and try to shut them down.
So I thought he did a very good job.
Because look at Brunson.
Brunson had 29 points,
but he took him 26 shots.
Yeah.
I can live with that.
You go and tell him 26, Joe, I can live with that.
Yeah.
Hey, listen, I like Alexander's energy.
I think he just made the most threes
in franchise history in the season.
So I know, Ocho, he's going to play.
play a lot better at home.
And we need this contribution.
Listen, if we can hold the Knicks to
106 points or less,
man, that's in our favor every night, bro.
You know what I mean?
Like, we can't have it up there in them
in them hundred thirties and hundred and forties
and hunting now. But see?
We got to, yeah.
Joe, I'm glad. I'm going to let Bronson shoot
26 times. Because guess who ain't shooting?
Yeah, yeah.
Cat had 12 shots.
Yeah.
OG had four shots.
Hey, listen.
Josh Hart had 11 shot of tips.
I thought we placed on.
He can't,
that's a high volume of shots.
He ain't,
I don't think he got enough stamina to get money like that.
I'm just keeping real with y'all.
Not from what I see.
Well, I mean, because guess what?
You got,
you got Walt taking him and you got Dyson Daniels.
Dyson Daniels got the length to bother him.
Yeah.
Just wear him down.
They're saying, that's what it seemed like.
They go Jalen Johnson.
So you get six, nine.
You get six, eight.
You get probably what is walk, what is walk, six, four, six, three, six, four.
He might be even six five.
Who is in?
Who?
Uh, uh, and Akiel Alexander Walker.
Ah, yeah, he about six five, six six six.
So think about the length that we, that we throw in that six foot two, Jalen Brunson.
Yeah.
And we're wearing him down.
So now he's taking, he's taking, he's a tough shot maker now.
He, don't go me wrong.
Now, I'm not, but I'm just saying if they, the hawks can continue to make him shoot 10 or
26. 10 of 26? That means 26 shots. Cat only got 12 shot attempts.
Cat got no free throw. So what does that tell you? No free throw.
He ain't aggressive?
And we say the same thing every time we talk about it. We say the same thing. And I know
I know it's not just us. I mean everybody says it and he still don't change his game.
Even though yeah, hell, you're playing Atlanta Hawks team to have nobody that can deal with you
down there in the block and in the paint.
But you still want to sit there.
Huh?
Change his game.
How are you going to change his game?
You think a crocodile all of a sudden going to start eating kelp?
Go to start eating flowers?
It'll eat meat.
Hey.
So cat's going to be what cat is.
You ask him to change his game now.
Hey.
Y'all got to get my boy of Congo some credit too.
I sent him.
Okay, Ocho.
Hey, he'd be out there split cat.
He'd be out there shooting at that day.
Because if you put it.
because if you put Mitchell Robinson in the game,
you drag, you brag, you bring him outside of the paint.
Because Mitch, all he wants to do is stand up in there,
contest shots, get lob, dunk, get rebounds,
and give the Knicks second chance point attempts.
That's what he wanted to do.
But when you get a congoon,
Congrel can knock down the three.
So you just can't sit your ass up on the basketball.
You're going to take it out of the net.
Mm-hmm.
Yeah.
Hey, I told you all, man, this is going to be a good series, bro.
Okay, hold on that, Joe.
But CJ, man, I thought that shot that.
Think about it.
CJ got that ball.
Hey, got to his spot and let it go.
And he had a stretch down there four-quarter-on-hundred-hoto.
Oh, yeah.
Oh, he's getting buddy.
I'm talking about he had them dudes at his mercy, bro.
The way he run the pick-and-roll, man, to the young hoopers out there
who want to become a pretty good basketball player, man, you,
hey, the NBA is a pick-and-roll league, bro.
We're going to always seek the mismatch, whatever it is.
We're going to pick-roll you to death.
And so you got to be great in the pick and roll
and CJ got that thing down to a science.
You hear me?
I'm talking about getting in his spot,
shooting his floater, shooting his midi,
and then his Bobbop game so nice, boy,
I'm telling him, Bob Brunson a few times.
Hey, what should you call it, the Bob-Bop?
That Bob Bobbop.
You're going to see what I'm talking about it.
Don't worry about it.
It's coming to a place near you.
Hold on.
You're about me?
Yeah.
Yeah, I'm talking to you.
You're going to see what that Bob Bob Bob here.
Hey, Joe, I know you move.
I explain your move to you.
already, Joe.
Yeah, whatever.
You see CJ out there?
You see how he had bruns on skates, what?
Yeah.
Hey, Joe, that's five on five.
Joe, they have nothing to do with one-on-one.
Because that bop-bop ain't going to work.
Oh, they got, hey, they got Pastor Troy going to be here for game three, man.
He don't turn his thing up in game three.
Hey, George, that's a high now.
A long as he played by Troy now.
Long as he played vice versa.
Hey, he goes vice versa.
We ready.
We ready.
Turn the roof on this thing.
Hey, Patrick Trude.
Real deal, boy.
Come on.
Come on.
Hey, Joe, you're going to the game?
Yeah, I'm going, oh, Joe.
Okay.
Yeah.
Hey, Joe, tell me how you got my worst seat available.
You're going to.
Hey.
I got the last ticket.
You did, Joe?
I mean, you got the last one?
Joe did?
Nah, uh-uh, uh-uh.
Nah, nah, nah.
Me and my people's going on.
Who's your people?
Hey, but uh, huh?
Who are your people?
Are you, you don't know.
You don't know.
You'll see it though.
You win in here the camera, you'll see.
Hey, uh, are you going?
You see it on.
No, I'm going to the Lakers game tomorrow.
I'll go to the Lakers game tomorrow.
You too?
Hey, hold on.
Oh, your team, ain't it?
Yeah, Miami ain't making it.
Oh, Joe, I'm sorry.
Hey, listen, that, that's fine.
That's fine.
That's fine.
I mean, y'all can make fun of me.
Hey, it's one thing about it, man,
God said, don't kick no man while he down.
And y'all still are kicking.
You ain't down?
Yeah.
But we tried to put you down.
That's cool.
So we can't kick you.
No.
But Atlanta showed me something tonight.
Yeah.
They showed me something tonight.
They did, bro.
They did.
That was suckers because, you know, the Knicks was, you know, pretty much handling us.
And I just, I felt we could fight back.
We seemed like we would get within a few points.
And next thing, you know, you know, Knicks are going a little mini run
or something happened then, but when the fourth quarter came,
it's like everybody got tight for the Knicks.
And CJ, CJ was like, hey, hey, y'all just chill out.
I got this.
Don't worry.
I got, don't worry about it.
You see Tony Bradley play.
Remember, Quinn knows it.
Quinn had him in Utah, a big body.
Somebody that can bang, somebody that can bang with Mitch, somebody that can bang with Kat.
Because Cat was, because Cat was killing him on the glass.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Hey, shout out to Tony Bradley because I was on their team.
in Utah when Quinn was coaching.
I played with Tony Bradley.
So he gave us some great minutes tonight.
You know, A, A, which was much needed.
They needed it. Because they did.
Man, they did.
They needed that.
But I thought the Hawks played really well.
They got, Quinn should be very proud.
The team should be very proud.
But don't relax now.
You won a game.
You took home court for them.
Now you got to go home and serve.
You like the battlefield, okay.
We've advanced now, but don't go.
Hey, don't go and give you that.
bad smet up.
Hey,
hey,
uh,
we got to practice on
semen retention.
Don't go back,
don't go home,
try and get all that
moot shoot from your lady
and all that.
We need,
hey,
we gotta have them legs,
baby.
We got to have legs,
you know,
I got a shit to come.
Man,
when I get hold of that,
hey,
I got to wake up
with a mean one.
Hey.
Come on.
Come on.
Come on.
Come on.
Hey, Joe.
Hey, Joe,
them boy down in Atlanta,
Joe.
What are the men?
We just need a little discipline, Ocho.
We just need a little discipline, Ocho.
Joe, that's like being in Houston
talking about you need a little discipline.
Like, come on there.
Well, we ain't, hey, Ocho, we really got
to the type of players.
A lot of our players married, bro.
Like, they, you know, I'm just saying.
Okay.
Yeah, we got, we got a, we got a pretty good team.
I'm with you when you're right.
Yeah.
Hey, hey, I don't have been away.
Oh, oh, I don't have to wait for about a week.
Right, right, right, right.
Oh, we got two big games
You know
Unless you got a visitor in town
You got to get it
Hey
Hey, hold
You let ketchup stop you
Yeah, man
Oh, my bad
My bad
I'm good
I'm good with that
Oh, hey, I know
Ocho
Let's stay on the top of her basketball
Let's say that for the back end
That's for the back end of the show
You ought to shame of yourself, Ocho
But you know
That's for the back end of the show
Let's stay on top of that
basketball right now.
The next fan went on,
we're from F.
Trey Young to F.J.
And you see
Trey Young left,
his 29.2,
and C.J. is right there
with it.
Damn.
CJ right there with it.
Hey,
hey,
that I run it.
Mm-hmm.
Hey, listen.
This thing here's gonna be crank.
Hey, win that game, Joe.
Wednesday?
I mean, Thursday.
Thursday?
Yeah.
Oh, yeah.
It's going to be jumping.
Hold on, hold on, Joe.
Hold on, Joe.
What you hold on for?
Let me see something.
What you're looking for?
No, because I'm probably, I'm, I'm from there.
Hey, Joe, you see me at the game, boy?
Just holl at your boy now.
I'm putting out.
Oh, you plan on coming down that way?
Hold on.
You sure is this Thursday?
Yeah, it's Thursday.
Yeah.
Hold on, hold on, hold on.
Watch this.
If I see you in there, if I see you in there, I'll come speak to you.
Hey, Joe, hey Joe, you got to hear with that church hand.
Yeah.
What church hand?
Hey, man.
Yeah, you know, you're in the church.
You see somebody?
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Let the Hawks go on the road.
So the last two road teams win the ball game.
The Hawks win 107, 101,6.
and Minnesota goes on the road and take down Denver.
But no such luck for the Toronto Raptors.
Donovan Mitchell, scores 30.
James Harden, scores 28.
Evan Mobley has 25.
The Cavaliers had at least three players
that scored at least 25 points in the fourth postseason game
for the second straight season.
The fourth time overall, Cleveland never trail,
and won 12 straight playoff games versus Toronto.
Thanks to Goat Jane.
Because Goat Jank, they couldn't win nothing.
that Nathaniel overgo.
Tad of the NBA postseason record
consecutive wins
over a single opponent.
The streak began in 2016
Eastern Conference finals
when the Cavaliers took the final two games.
Cavaliers swept Toronto in four games
in the second round in 2017 and
2018.
Hey, I got a question too.
Somebody need to tell me what going on with Brandon Ingram.
So the score was 115 to 105.
You get great production.
I mean, look at its efficiency.
R.J. Barrett, 22 points on 10 or 13.
Scottie Barnes, 26 points 11 or 19.
You get Colin Murray Boyles had 17.
Sandro had 12, 5 of 8.
B.I. had 7.3 or 15.
Now, he was talking about the guy had him in the pick.
They got me sending picks.
They got me saying picks.
Okay.
You ain't said no pitch tonight.
You three of 15.
Come on now with it.
Come on now.
Hey.
What did you got on, Joe?
I was going to see, man.
that goddamn Mowbly and Hardin.
I understand they had 25 and 28,
but look how fishing them boys was from the field, though.
And with Donovan Mitchell,
playing like that,
if you got Mowgli, Hardin and Mitchell playing like that
with your two bigs,
hell, Joe, they could damn their just about beat anybody
coming out the east.
If them three, them three spearheaded muscles
play like that every single night.
Now, I know it's impossible to do every single night.
But if two of them come along,
and the rest of your supporting cast,
to give you something, especially on the defensive end
with them big boys down there.
I mean, hell.
Hey, listen.
I see what you're saying, but I also know what Uncle
saying, too, about Brandon Ingram.
If he gave you anything tonight,
with the way they bench playing.
Yeah.
If Brandon Ingram gives you anything.
Yeah.
They got two points from Yacquiporto.
Yeah.
Jamal Shee gave three points.
Brandon Ingram gave you seven points.
So you got 12 points.
One guy played 38 minutes.
The other guy played 36.
the man is.
Yeah.
Hell to the no.
Yeah.
No, I agree with you.
Brandon Ingram got to be better.
I'm sure he knows that three for 15 ain't going to get it.
Not against his Cavs team in Cleveland with Donovan and James Hardin and then them
playing the way they're playing.
Shit.
Y'all ain't given no resistance, bro.
Like, you know, you got to be better than that.
And I'm sure he'll be better than the game.
Stop turning the damn ball over.
when they go home.
Hey, I got them winning.
I got them winning a game or two in this series, though.
Yeah, I don't got them winning a series, but I got them winning a game or two.
But yeah, it was a great fight, man.
It was a great fight.
I just felt Cleveland came out hitting on all cylinders from the jump.
Hey, dear.
Hey, Joe.
Them boy putting, go here.
What's up?
Hey, you've seen that goddamn step back three from Hardin with, hey, that was a file.
I mean, we opened up, we opened up with a little,
little bit with his hand, that wouldn't.
Yeah, and he'd come up through it when you put your hand in there.
But he went back and fell.
Yeah, you can't put your hand in their cookie job.
They're going to do that every time.
Once they see that hand in it like that, they're just going straight up.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Hey, look, that's why the game different now because you can't touch nobody.
As soon as you touch them, they start, you know, flailing, getting them foul.
File baiting.
But Cleveland did what they're supposed to do, bro.
Protect home court.
now we're going to see what they really made, though.
Can they go to Toronto and get a win or two?
But I got Toronto winning a game or two in this series.
In game one, B. I had 17 points.
Game two, he had seven points.
On three or 15, he had a team high five turnovers.
He's averaging almost 22 points a game in the regular season.
But through two games, he has just 12 points, averaging 12 points a game.
And he's the second highest paid player on the team at 38 mil per season.
and he's been an all-star.
He was all-star this year, wasn't it?
I think he was, Joe.
Yeah, they were.
So he had two-a-old-star.
Yeah.
They had two guys that were all-star.
He's either your best player or your second best player.
It all depends.
You're talking about Scotty Barnes or whatever.
But they want to even want to be whatever, however you want to rank it.
He got to give me more than that.
I can't have three role players coming off the damn bench playing 10 less minutes than you
and got more points to you.
Yeah.
Jacoby Walker had 14 points to your 7.
Murray Bowles had 17 to your 7.
Sandro had 12 to your 7.
No, that can't happen.
It just can't happen.
Yeah.
It can't.
On the win on the road,
he doesn't play like that.
You make it away with,
you make it win a game at home
with him playing like that.
If the rest of these guys are going to be efficient
the way they've been.
If the other guys play like this, yes, you can win.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Yeah.
On the road.
But.
on the road
It's tough.
It's going to be tough.
Your big guys need to come through,
but it's your role players
that eventually win you the game.
But if your big guys don't come through,
I don't know if the role players can do enough.
Now, if you get somebody to go off,
give you 30, some role player get your 30, 35,
hey, you got a chance.
But it ain't very often that you're going to find a role player
get numbers like that, Joe,
especially in a playoff game.
Now, it might happen in the regular season.
Yeah.
But in a playoff game,
the likelihood of a role player going off and getting 30, it's happened.
And we saw it in between.
Yeah, yeah.
It don't happen a lot, bro.
Hey, you got to be cut from a different cloth, boy, to come out.
Listen, to be a role player or to come off the bench and win a game,
meaning the playoffs to where, you know, you're hitting on all cylinders
because, man, the game playing be so precise.
Okay, Ocho, like I always tell y'all, we already know what plays they're going to run.
They already know what plays we're going to run.
know who the shooters are and the non-shooters.
Bro, we got, we got to play it to the team and see who make a mistake first.
Yeah.
All right, baby dinosaurs.
Y'all down, 02.
Hey, Toronto going to be lit.
Drake going to be at the game.
Hey, we got some good matchups coming up, fellas.
Yeah.
Yeah.
It's going to do tight.
The table's going to turn.
Well, they have to.
They have to, Joe.
I mean, look, you lose 3-1.
Now, look, Donald Mitchell does have a problem, have a problem.
He's lost.
having three one lead, having two old leads, and he's lost.
And that's kind of been the knock on him.
Last year, what Indiana did to them was, ooh, that was embarrassing.
Yeah, Indiana, they did that the area down by the last year.
In the playoffs, they won't poll.
They was other dollars in every series.
Yeah.
What, they beat the Knicks, beat the Celtics.
Calf?
What, they beat the Cows, the first round.
Then they got the Knicks.
Didn't they beat, what you call them in the final?
Beat up, what you call them?
They beat the Knicks to go to the final, didn't it?
Maybe they did, yeah.
Because I know they started off with the calves.
Yeah, they went from the calves to, who wasn't it?
That goddamn Hallie was on goddamn fire, huh?
Yeah, Hallie hitting game winner.
He were going crazy.
Yeah.
I don't remember who the hell.
Yeah.
Because like you said, they were
underdogs in every
in every matchup, but they found
Was it Milwaukee?
It was Milwaukee.
It might have been Milwaukee.
Yeah.
Or they played bucks in the first round, then
Cleveland, and then the Knicks.
Oh, yeah, yeah. And they were underdoll
in every series.
But Hall of had them there about four, five
game winners.
Oh, that boy was cooking.
And he got that.
that funny release on this shot, Joe?
Uh-huh.
Straight water.
That thing, cash.
I ain't going to even lie to you.
I went Indiana traded for him.
I ain't really see what they seen in him when he was in Sacramento playing with Fox.
I'm like, they must think this little, this little dude here can play it.
He needs to be really good.
Who's your point guard?
Fox's him.
Yeah.
I ain't see, I ain't see this, though.
I ain't see him putting it down like this.
Yeah.
You let him go and he gets a big, then he can throw lob to.
I mean, he's still, you know.
Like I said, he can make the three.
He penetrate.
He's bigger than you think.
He likes six five.
Yeah.
He's a big-ass point.
Yeah.
But, you know, I'm looking forward to seeing him back next year.
See what they do in the draft or what they can trade they can make because I think they need another big.
I don't think they have enough right now with Pascal and they gave up Matt Bern.
Nimhard is still there.
I just don't think they.
Obie Topping is okay.
I think he's a solid role player.
but they need a big.
I'm Luke Wilson.

I'm John Green. You may know me as the author of The Fault and Our Stars, and now I guess also is the co-host of the Away End, a brand new world soccer podcast.
I'm Daniel Alarcon, a writer and journalist, and John and I have known each other since we were kids.
My first World Cup was Mexico 86.
I was nine years old.
I watched every game, and I fell in love.
On our new podcast, The Away End, we'll share with you the magic of international football, all leading up to the 2026 World Cup.
For us, soccer, football, is a story we've shared for over 30 years since Daniel was the star player on our high school soccer team.
Very debatable.
And I was there most loyal and sometimes only.
I love this game. I love its history, its hope, its heartbreak, and above all, it's beauty.
Together, we'll find out why, of all the unimportant things, football, soccer, is the most important.
Listen to the away end with Daniel Auerkone and John Green on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
What's up? I'm Miles Turner. And I'm Brianna Stewart. And our podcast, Game Recognized Game, has never been done before.
Two active players giving you a real look at our lives and what we actually think on and off the court.
Nothing's off limits.
We talk trade requests.
What's the vibe of that when it's like your star player is like, well, I want to leave?
And then actually now I'm going to stay.
We talk tanking.
I mean, honestly, like, I might get in trouble for this answer, but I think it's like definitely happening in the WBA.
And yeah, we talk about our mistakes too.
They pulled me to their side and was like, hey, man, we got a call last night, man.
You can't be rolling around the city like this tonight before games, no, you know, doing this, doing whatever.
And of course, family stories.
They'll be like, Mommy, why did you miss that?
Mommy, do you play basketball?

American soccer is about to explode.
The World Cup is coming.
I'm Taboramos.
I'm Tom Bamos.
USA!
Listen, Inside American Soccer with Tom Bogart and Tabramos
on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, wherever you get your podcast.
Yeah, they do.
They need a big in the way the worst way.
But they got their work cut out for them.
They got their work cut out for them because Cleveland isn't even an easy victory.
So they're playing really well.
As you guys saw the night, 25 for Moby.
Mowgli on 13 shots.
He's 11 to 13. Hardin had 28
on 9 to 14. And then
Donald McChill had 30
on 13 to 23.
So when your
three big guns are going off like that and you
let them shoot a percentage like they're shooting,
it's going to be hard for you to beat them.
It's going to be really, really, really, really extremely
hard for you to beat them. When you turn the ball
over 22 times, they turn it over 10
times.
That's not a
recipe for success.
So, Cavaliers up to O, Nuggets, T. Wolves, one, one, one, Hawks, Nick, one, one.
We got, hey, we got a series, we got some basketball going on now, fellas.
Hey, Joe, you're feeling good now, huh, Joe?
Come on, man.
Come on, man, stop playing, oh, Joe.
Hey, he's making videos all on Instagram, tagging me.
You saw that, too? You know?
I'm over in mind of my black business, and I get an alert.
Yeah, hey, he, he's making all type of hawk sound.
I, ah, ah, ah, ah.
Hey, like he cold from Martin.
I'm like, okay.
Hey, hey, hey, I almost burned my money, man.
When I said the first video, he'd come down and smoke them two fritos.
I said, oh, my God.
Yeah, you know you can't do that.
Oh, my God.
Oh, yeah, Joe, what you call them?
They traded for Zubaz, didn't it?
Oh, yeah.
That's how what you call him, ended up in the Clippers.
And I like Zubbos.
I thought Zubbos was getting better and better and better.
He played, I like, I like, he played.
when he was with the Lakers and LeBron.
I was shocked that Magic gave him up for,
Lord, have mercy, for that what he gave him up for.
For who, for who, uh?
He gave up Zubbite.
Mike Muscala.
That's who he traded him for.
Yes, he traded him for the Clippers for Mike Muscala.
And Mike Muscala was a marksman, shot three,
shot three really well.
Yeah.
Except until he brought his ass to the Lakers and played with LeBron.
And he couldn't throw it into the damn ocean.
I forgot. I forgot.
We have something we've never had before.
A unanimous defensive player of the year,
and he's the youngest.
Wimbi.
Wimbi.
Victor Wimbi Nami, Wimbi,
Wembe, as expected, was announced
the winner of the defensive player of the year.
He was seconded in voting last year.
Thought he could have won it last year,
favored this season until in medical condition,
ending his season prematurely.
Then left no doubt at 22.
He's the youngest defensive player of the year.
and he's the first to win it unanimously.
I mean,
hey.
Hey,
Ray,
I can see that.
Hey,
Oh, Joe,
the next five,
maybe seven to ten years.
He's probably going to win this award.
I wouldn't be surprised.
Because of,
you know,
his unique bill being seven,
four,
seven, five with that long wingspan like that
and moving the way he moved, you know, having great timing and shot blocking and just altering
shots.
Bro, it ain't going to be nothing like him over the next 20 years.
It ain't nobody really to challenge him because you got to realize in the 90s, Joe, you had Mark
Eaton, you had DeKinbe Matumbo, you had Elijah Wong, you had David Robinson, you had Ewing,
you had guys, and then you had Jordan, and so you got Adam Robertson.
So you had guys that were really, you had Gary Payton, so it wasn't no, you.
situation like, oh, man.
No, hell no.
They were, they played defense, defense.
And so now with Wimby, really, when you look at it,
it's really only too big to play defense.
It's Wimby and Rudy.
I mean, when you look at it, Joe,
when you really, really bring it down.
When you look at big, okay, Chet, Chet's in there.
But it's not like it was in the 90s when you had a,
I mean, think about it, David Robinson,
defensive player of the year,
Hakeen, defensive player of the year.
You had Mark Eaton.
I mean, you had guys.
And you had, you know, George, you had the guards were legit.
So you might be right, Joe.
There might be a screen where he could even get four and five years.
I think he's going to be probably the first guy to win five of them.
Because he's won it so early in his career, I wouldn't be surprised.
And you got to look at his state of mind.
where he's at, bro.
He's trying to do something that's never been done.
He understands the position that he has.
And he's so locked in on his craft,
trying to better himself day in and day out.
Like, he's looking to be the best, bro.
He wants to be the face of the league.
He does.
Hey, he wants to carry that towards.
He ain't tripping.
He ain't tripping by nothing.
You know what I ever come.
So I think you're going to have a guy who is, you know,
and God's willing, bro.
He stay healthy.
he gonna string a few of these together.
And you might be right, he might be the first one
to get five, you know, because his shot blocking ability
is just crazy.
And if he don't block a shot, he makes you think,
nah, I don't even want to try to lay up, I'm good.
I ain't gonna try no flow, let me go on out here to the three.
Hey, they get a three on one.
You know, they get a three on what?
You normally challenge, man, they pull that thing.
Oh, no, now, now, let's go back out here.
Come on, y'all.
We ain't got nothing going on down here.
win me up under the basket.
You're right, man.
Don't nobody, hey, don't nobody want that smoke, man.
He is a match-up nightmare.
And the thing is, we love guys that can play offense and defense.
That's what you loved about Jordan,
because he gave it to you on both of them.
You love that about Kobe.
You love that about Dream.
You love that about those guys.
Yonis.
Hey, but when you look at all those dudes, you just name,
none of them move like.
No, no, no, no.
Only Elijah was 16.
This guy's seven inches taller than Elijah one.
Annie, I'm talking about, but I'm talking.
Andy Twitchy with a bag, too, Joe.
That what I'm talking about, Ocho.
It ain't like he just shot blocking, like, oh, he really handling the rock like a real small guard.
This man out here, seven four, seven, five, bro.
Like, some of the moves that he's making, you know, Janus are downhill player.
Yonnas ain't got no like that.
He ain't got no east or west.
He ain't got nothing, ha, ha, he ain't got that.
He's going straight down here, straight through.
You get me?
Man, Wimby got some wiggle in his game.
That's all I'm saying.
This is why I don't understand about the old guys is that we're not taking anything away from you,
but these guys are more skilled than you.
Name one guy that played in the 80s and 90s that can do what Wimby did.
No.
Name one guy that played in the 80s and 90s that can do with Kevin Durant did.
You don't.
And it's okay.
It's called evolution.
It is.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Guys get bigger, faster, stronger in the NFL, they get big.
Because they see what you did.
And so that's the standard.
You guys, I mean, when basketball first started, look at this.
Come on, man.
Guys were MVP shooting 40%.
Yeah.
Real talk.
Hey.
It's different.
And it's okay.
I'm not saying, I just believe that there are more guys to do what the really good
players could do back then.
That's all.
Oh, yeah.
Oh, yeah.
And when you think about it, you know, back in the day,
Ocho, if you were 6-5-66 in, like, high school, you know, they'll put you, they'll put
you under the back.
You know what I mean?
You're a center.
You're a center.
You're a lot of year.
You ain't no down point guard.
Nowadays, yeah, nowadays, if you're that height, you're a guard, meaning you do
all guard skill work, you feel?
I'm saying?
Even if you're 16.
They ain't just putting you up under the.
go telling you shoot jump hooks, do the George Mike and drill.
They ain't telling you just do all that.
You feel me?
It's like, hey, look, we're going to work on this bag, even though you're tall and
everybody, and that's just kind of how the game has evolved.
And now you got guys like Wimby at 7475, bro, he's doing stuff we ain't never seen.
I'm going to be honest with y'all.
His handle is immaculate for a guy his size to be able to move the way he moves.
Dude, dude, special.
Because the guy, because they're working on it now, Joe.
these guys got training
I mean these guys got trainers
they had no trainers back then
they figured all that stuff out of their own
from watching reading magazines
or watching stuff
these guys now
they see all the stuff that Jordan did
they see what Kobe did
they see what all these guys
with great handles did
they just replicating that
now you look at go on TikTok
go on the internet, go on YouTube
and watch these kids
how they handle the ball
even the young ladies
these girls five and six seven years old
patting the rock they ain't playing bro it's okay see it's been there it don't just because
somewhat is moving advanced to the ball that don't take away from what you did i don't care
somebody with 10 championships jordan 1 6 he's still jordan cobi 1 5 ron or kd uh step they don't
diminish what you guys did sometimes i think when when guys somebody does something people
actually think well it doesn't no no no no it doesn't i don't give it down somebody i don't care if somebody
catch 2,000 passes for a career.
It don't diminish what I did
because I did what I did when I did it.
Right.
Now, if he catch 2,000 passes
and somebody else in that era
and the next closest
got 500, got 500,
now we're talking about something,
Ocho.
Yeah.
When you're that far ahead,
it's kind of like,
what we give Jerry so much credit
is that look at when Jared played
and look at what everybody
did numbers work with everybody else.
Right.
Ain't nobody got six.
17,000 receive yards, 18,000, 19,000, 20, 21, he got 22 every thousand yards.
Yeah.
Nobody's within 40 touchdowns of it.
That's what you, when you play at an era and you 40 touchdowns clear of everybody else.
Come on, man.
Different.
Yeah.
He was different.
But these kids not today, Joe.
I mean, hey, I don't know what the next win be is.
is. I damn sure don't want to see him.
What are you going to be, Joe? Eight foot tall?
Hey, man, listen.
Maybe. I don't know, but you know, it's some little dude out there right now,
boy, working on this game, and he don't even know it.
What about to be, Robert Wadlow, the tallest man never lived, eight foot 11?
Somebody coming at eight foot 11, a level, hell of the ball like that?
I tell you what, now that if LeBron and Katie and him are on their way out in the next
three to four years, two to three years.
The game going to be in good hand.
Yeah, for sure.
The game is always in good hand.
Oh, oh, I don't know what's going to happen with Magic and Bird retire.
Okay, here come Jordan.
Here come Barclay, Malone.
Man, I don't know what's going to.
Okay, here come Kobe, LeBron, Gardnette, DeVisket, DeVisket, DeVade, Kobe.
Yeah.
Yeah.
The game was, the game ain't stopping for nobody.
Oh, no.
Montana, Brady.
Elway,
Peyton, man, it don't matter.
Yeah.
The game going to be just fine.
Same thing with baseball.
Man, I don't know what's going to happen.
You'll see.
Keep watching.
That's what's going to happen.
Receivers,
boatloads of them.
Oh, yeah.
Yeah.
Boat loads of them.
Because guess what?
What Ocho and I didn't have,
we didn't have no damn seven,
seven-o-seven camp.
What?
And.
You went to a football.
Maybe if you had,
had a little money, you went to Florida
or you went to Florida or you
with the U, or you
with the South Carolina or Georgia, or whatever
the college was, you went to
the head coaches camp.
Man, they got, they got
traveling seven-on-seven now,
Ocho. Yeah.
Hey, we didn't have that.
And you're basketball now, Joe.
Yeah, that stuff helped.
Hey, man, listen, when I was
coming up, we
had no trainers, all we did was who.
You know what I'm saying?
Like we met at the gym.
We met at the park.
We was over somebody at house hooping in the backyard.
You feel me?
Sharpen in our tools.
We ain't had nobody telling us do no one, two, dribble, pull up, pump, face, spin, right,
stand on one leg for two seconds and shoot that job.
We ain't have all that, bro.
Because they didn't know.
Did nobody know?
Yeah, yeah.
We just competed.
We competed and we played day in, day.
I'm talking about how damn feet was hurt.
So, yeah.
But congratulations, Victor,
Weminyama, the first of many.
He's the youngest at 22 years of age to win the DPOY,
and he's the first guy to win this award unanimously.
You don't get a whole lot of unanimous as anything.
I mean, you know, I think David Robinson won the,
was David Robinson?
A unanimous?
I think David Robertson would have been the first unanimous.
He might have been, boy, he was a monster.
The unanimous rookie of the year.
He wasn't a unanimous.
Steph is the only unanimous MVP.
Shaq finished one vote short.
LeBron finished one vote short.
Hold on.
I'm saying Dave Robertson never wanted a defensive player here.
But it wasn't unanimous.
It's funny how it's always one voter, huh?
One voter, yep.
Always one voter, want to play around.
I forget the guy.
I think it was Fred Hickman that denied Shaq.
And I think a guy voted for Carmelo.
He's out of the New York market that ended up voting for Carmello the year LeBron finished
one vote short.
Hey, you give people a little power, Joe.
You see how they abuse it?
Oh, we know it, bro.
It just to be funny.
It'd be different, ain't, man?
I mean, look, it happens.
Hell, people left Kim Griffey Jr. off the Hall of Fame ballot.
So, Kevin Durant.
Damn.
I said, damn.
Kevin Durant went through the, how about a half of Houston's practice on Monday and would be a game
decision Tuesday, according to I made
Yudoka. KD. Mr.
Rock is game one loss due to
a knee bruise. He suffered in practice
on Wednesday. Reports have come out that
he suffered the knee injury, diving
for a loose ball, and bumping
into a teammate.
Damn.
Well, that's one thing
we didn't do. Now,
if we could dive in the game, but Mike
Shedhan, we're going to have you down for
ish in practice.
Hey, that's why Pat Riley make you
wear knee pads.
Oh, you got a way, knee pads?
We're knee pads in practice when you're getting down like that.
Okay, okay, okay, okay.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
We're going to be working.
They don't work like that, no, Joe.
They don't.
It's a different, and I get it.
I get it.
I get it.
It's so much money involved.
You don't want to get guys hurt.
Oh, Joe, that's the thing what you see with us.
I mean, they don't have no two days in practice.
You only get 11 padded practices, and I think you only get three, like the
last six, seven weeks of the season.
Right.
It's a different time, and I understand it.
Well, the thing is, damn, Houston, they had this long break because of the playing,
so they had that week where they weren't playing.
So if you ain't even planning that week, you have to find a way to kind of rave it up
at least for a day or two August.
Oh, Cho.
We just can't go out there cold turkey and we ain't got our heart rate up.
Yeah.
Like, we got a bump and grind a little bit, and it's just, this is just one of the
unfortunate that happened when you're practicing before the playoffs.
Well, that's what we had to do because, like, we might have a playoff or we're going to sit
out.
We'd have to take, we'd have to take scout team reps.
Yeah.
So, because we weren't going to get any game reps, so we had to take scout team reps.
Cool.
I'm cool.
I'm cooking.
Doing your thing.
Yeah, for sure.
Yeah.
Coach, D.Core, they tell him, well, they just, they just,
tight end, he ain't
shabbyn't
sharp, he ain't no pro bowl
or all pro.
When he might be
to get y'all the way y'all play it.
Yeah, yeah.
But no, I get it.
I get it.
And it's very unfortunate
because KD.
played 78 of 82 ball
games.
And here it is a freak
incident.
And now I missed
the first game.
There's a potential
the possibility.
I might miss the game
tomorrow.
Yeah.
And could potentially
cost them the series.
Hey, because y'all know,
momentum.
Hey, I'll tell you, man,
it's a fine line
between winning and losing in the postseason.
And, you know, Lakers build this humongous confidence
and they go up too old going into Houston.
Y'all know LeBron probably going to have,
he's going to have one of them games.
One of them games, he's going to act of fool.
Got about the opportunity for us to go out there to Houston
see old gold out there in, you know, Houston.
You don't know what I'm saying, Joe and Joe?
Y'all will go to H-Town?
I'll be down for that now.
Oh, man, y'all is scared.
Y'all scared.
Y'all scared.
Y'all want to go?
You know, and Scooby say, roll.
Hey.
Hey.
Hey, the Lakers play Houston in L.A. tomorrow, right?
Yes.
Okay.
So the next game, that means, I mean the next game of what?
The next two games are being Houston.
Three and four are being Houston.
Games three and four.
I mean, y'all want to plan a little trip down now?
Nope.
You just said you want.
Huh?
I just talked.
Oh, okay.
You can't go anyway.
What would happen?
Why can't go?
Man Cambodia ain't letting you go nowhere.
Yeah, she'll let me go.
I mean, she don't run no prison.
Let me, I mean, it's like halfway house.
It's about that.
It's about that.
Oh, no.
You ain't tried to do nothing, no, too.
No, I mean, listen, if y'all go, I go, I go.
You know, I mean, listen.
And now, also, we call Uncle Bluff.
He didn't think we're going to call this.
Yeah, you should know.
Man.
He didn't think he's going to call the club.
I didn't think Joe, Joe, like, I'll be down to take a little trip.
I doubt, I doubt, sure ain't think, uh, I damn sure ain't think you was a, uh, uh, uh.
I definitely think you're going to be the first one.
Hey, anytime I got an opportunity to hang with y'all boys, man, listen, I'm all.
Man, go ahead on with that.
You had an opportunity to hang with Joe.
Any time I got an opportunity to hang with y'all, man, it's always love, man.
I'm here for y'all.
Hey, I've re-arranged my life for y'all, man.
You hear me?
I rearrange my life, man.
Chat, y'all know what your fake left go right.
Hey.
Yeah, I rearrange my life for y'all, man.
You hear me?
I'm glad I learned my lesson early.
Yeah.
And Joe, I'm with you when you're right, Joe.
Joe, I'm with you when you're right, Joe.
Joe, I'm with you when you're right, Joe.
Yeah.
Bam, damn.
I guess we have to see.
Damn, my goddamn heat, man.
We sit here talking basketball and ain't about my heat, man.
Man, it's been about you heat a long-ass time.
I'm saying.
Don't get on since then.
I'm just the fact that we talk about all these other teams.
I just can't wait until you see the move that Pat Riley and Mickey Eris and make, you know,
in all the team.
Well, we'll walk over when they make them.
Yeah, we need to be talking about.
about there right now. We talk about the upper echelon team
that's in the playoffs right now. I got you. Joe,
I understand. I understand there's certain things that I can
say, but I sprinkled it out there a little bit.
You know, like parsley, I sprinkled it out there
a little bit and, you know, the fact that I say
when I do say it, most of the people don't believe me,
but when it happened, they were like, oh my goodness,
Ocho, you was right. So a small example
of me knowing what I'm talking about
but nobody really paying attention.
And goddamn in February,
I told you.
Hey, um, where did I say? And I'm sure we got the video
evidence that we can pull back
and we can use this proof.
When did I say
AJ Brown was going
when they're going to
what team
I said we're going to?
Yeah.
Two months ago, Joe.
I told him, I've been telling
since the what,
October,
I said, oh, he about it.
Oh, yeah, he's about it.
He didn't know what you talking about.
You're all you try to do.
Man, that's what I don't like about it.
Because he's like, he know everything.
Come on, now.
I ain't not one person
because we can go back and pull it
because we still got the comments
what Ocho and I was talking about
because we got it
and we can pull the comments.
Mm-hmm.
You don't know what you're talking about.
All you do is think you know everything.
You don't know everything.
I said, man, y'all have here out of this man talking.
They win in the ball.
They winning games.
Oh, my thing went out.
It came back.
My bad.
So they traded.
No, Joe.
It's going to be a post-June 1st.
Yeah, post-June 1st.
But, Joe, listen, I was saying this two, three months ago, right?
Football season was over.
They were having discussion and talks about them going.
I said the first thing I said was, listen, young bull want to get up out of
Yeah. If you're acting why you're in season and then I'm thinking what place would make sense for
AJ Brown to go for him to still be able to flourish. Hello, go back with your coach. You was
winning God damn Tennessee. I mean, in Tennessee with coached Rable. Yeah. So I said right
away, I say, yeah, he's going to the Patriots. I mean, it's good. It's common sense at that point,
you know, and this is damn there two, three months ago. Everybody talked about, man, shut up. He
don't want to go nowhere. What do you talk about? Thank you. I'm like, I don't think, y'all don't
understand how it was. But guess what, Ocho? But you don't they go say, oh, everybody
do who you go get traded? You are alive. No, you didn't. You're a lie because all y'all,
and the, don't come now. Oh, man, no, no, no, no, no. We want y'all, just like y'all,
when Ocho and I wrong, and y'all want Ocho and I admit that we was wrong, we got it wrong,
I need y'all to do the same thing. I want you all to run it with the same passion,
with the same conviction that y'all say, unc and Ocho don't know what the hell they're
talking about. Ain't know, AJ say he wasn't going nowhere. They say they're
What go trade him?
Run it with the same passion.
Hey, I got all the tweets saved too.
Yeah.
I'm going to go back and pull them.
When it actually happened after June 1st, we're going to go back and we're going to pull
about 15 of them.
So you better go take them down because we like the job.
Because we use all tweets against you.
Yeah.
Because y'all just knew.
Oh, man.
He ain't say that.
He said it didn't want to go to work.
They said it was going to trade him.
Okay.
Eagle fan.
Where y'all at?
I know we got some Eagle fans.
Yeah.
I know we got some Eagle fans because I told you during the season they're going to trade it.
I said he wants to get out there.
And you know what?
It's best for the – it'll be a – it's the best thing.
Sometimes when you have irreconcilable differences, let's go ahead and break this thing up amicably.
That is what y'all wanted to hear.
Mm-hmm.
Oh, you just trying to – no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no.
I want y'all what y'all normally do when Ocho and I are wrong,
Oh, man, just admit you was wrong.
Now, I want the Eagle fan.
Now, come on with it.
Yeah.
And the funny thing.
Come on with it.
It's going to be a good thing.
It's going to be a good thing.
Let me give me a piece of candy.
You know, hey, like the old people say, Joe, let me get a piece of his old hard candy.
Hey, my grandma kills some candy.
Help her.
Hold on.
The man catch a touchdown in the Super Bowl.
He's a second team all-pro.
He's a Pro Bowl player.
He led the team and received it and yards.
I don't know where else you can get.
And he was unhappy.
You remember two years ago, he on the sideline reading a book
to keep from blowing the top.
Whatever you got to do to keep you calm.
It got so bad.
They had a meeting.
The owner and AJ had a meeting.
He said, I understand your frustration.
probably with something like,
I understand your frustration,
but can you not be so public?
And I said,
I don't have a problem
because I'm firm believer
you don't accept anything
in a win you wouldn't have lost.
I said,
but you got to keep it behind the scenes
because people are going to view you as selfish.
You're winning.
At one point, you had the best record in the NLC.
I said, you're winning.
I say, people are going to look at you
as being selfish
because they're going to look at it's like,
no, you just want your stats.
And then if you drop a pass or something happens, people are going to become overly critical of you.
Yes.
I'm just trying to.
Yeah.
I ain't telling what somebody told me.
Ocho and I are not speaking from, I got 14 years.
Ocho got 11.
So that's 25 years of NFL experience, being in the locker room and seeing how things work.
Yeah.
That's all.
No, no, don't know.
No, no, don't tell you.
I never meant nothing.
I need you to admit.
Don't talk this ain't about it.
Now.
When U.
wrong again?
I'll tell you what, if sexy dexy go out there and ball out, I'm saying, you know what,
that was a good trade.
Well, hold on, hold on.
It was a good trade.
I'm telling you's going to be a good trade.
Because any time we talk about football and I say something ahead of time, it's always right.
It's always right.
I'm rarely wrong when I say this thing.
Since you've been talking about your bingles, your bingles ain't been to the playoff since.
Okay, that's just one thing.
That's just one thing.
Hey, now, hold on, hold on that.
Don't you do that.
Hey, brother cowboy, don't you do that down there.
That's what you're not going to do.
Because I chime in and say back.
I'm just saying.
We talk about us not being to the playoffs.
I mean, we're in the same goddamn boat, now, you know?
Hey, if I'm Rose, then you jack.
Now, don't act like that.
A win is a win.
A win.
I don't care what you're saying.
Yep, that's me.
