Here's something that should not be as complicated as it is, getting a racist statue removed.
And here's something that should be a whole lot easier than it is, getting a new one put up in its place.
I'm Akila Hughes, and Rebel Spirit, season two, is about both of those things.
As I was watching these statues come down, I was thinking about what it meant that I grew up in a majority black city and what
there were more homages to enslavers than there were to enslave people.

Please drink responsibly and stay safe.
Ah, man, we started off so good, Joe.
We had an early lead.
I think we scored in the first three, four minutes of the ball game,
and I was like, damn.
But it seems like kind of like the USA relaxed in the first half.
And then Turkey comes back with two goals of their own.
And then to start the second half, we get to quit goal and tied up.
We had so many shots on goal.
And we just kept, kept missing, kept missing.
And in the closing minutes, Turkey got that goal in there that went three, two.
To conclude group stage play, USA will now play Bosnia and Herzegovina.
In the round of 32, Clinton, the first place in Group D.
There's absolutely, well, it was something.
I wanted to win.
I wanted bragging rights.
I had called us.
Hey,
this pride turkey,
Joe.
We got these.
We got them.
That's what I said
when they jumped off
to that good start.
I like the back and forth.
I like the action.
You know what I mean?
I like the action.
I ain't like that turkey got us down at the end.
But for the most part,
you know,
from a competitive standpoint,
I thought we was going to pull it out.
What that would have been three in a row
first time since win.
Yeah.
Yeah.
And I think the thing is, Joe,
I think because the U.S.
scored so easy,
early. I think they kind of relaxed.
And if you notice, Turkey kept the pressure
on one thing, Turkey fell behind one nothing.
They kept the pressure on throughout
the entirety of the first half. We kept
the pressure on them for the entirety of
the second half, except that last goal
they were able to get that goal in there.
Look, and I know for the
most part, there was really nothing at stake. You want to
brag and rights. You wanted to go
undefeated in group stage, but it is what
it is. And now, so now
the rubber really meets the
road. And so this is where all the
Ragged Rights come in at Bosnia and Herzegovina.
They played them in the round of 32.
Hopefully you can get an opportunity to go to the round of 16 and then we'll see what
happened.
But Bosn, now you focus all your attention.
There's nothing you can do about what you, you know, Uruguay and, I think they play,
what they play, Uruguay or Paraguay.
But they play one of them Guis, but then they play Turkey and they played Australia.
And they played Australia.
Yeah, it would have been nice to go undefeited and group stage, but that didn't happen.
and so now you focus your attention on Bosnia and hurts on Gavina
and see if you can advance to the round of 16.
Oh, Cho, you saw this and I was, I don't know if you heard what I said coming on.
It seemed like because the U.S. scored in the first three to four minutes of the game,
they kind of relaxed.
And then Turkey put the pressure on.
Turkey kept, I mean, they kept attacking.
They kept the ball in our end.
They kept getting shots.
I was like, well, God, damn, get the ball out of your end, USA.
Man, I was like, man, they're making me mad.
Yeah, it's a little difficult.
especially tonight.
I know Turkey A doesn't have much to play for it,
but obviously they're going to play hard.
Again, we have a few players,
some of our starters that are out, Uncle Joe,
they're on yellow cars,
and we don't want to chance them to be yellow in this game.
Then that means they have to miss the next match,
and the next match is very, very important.
And obviously, just like basketball,
soccer also is a game of momentum.
It's also a game of runs.
And obviously in that first half, you know,
after we scored early,
obviously, you know, Turke had had all the momentum and the runs.
They were much more physical.
They were much more physical on the ball, knocking us off the ball,
and just wanted to get to it a little bit more.
In the second half, we got a little better.
Obviously, we got two goals, one from Trustee and one from Burke Halter.
And, I mean, we look good.
And it just, you can tell that some of the starters weren't planned
because we were a little shaky.
We didn't look as polished and clean and sharp as we did in the first two games.
Yeah, I mean, you look at Tyler Adams.
Florian Balagun, Chris Richards, and Anthony Robinson.
None of those guys played, as you mentioned, Ocho.
They had a yellow card and didn't want to pick up the second yellow card
and obviously missed the most important match of this tournament thus far
when they play Bosnia and Herzegovina.
All that being saying, look, we still, look.
And I was joking like, man, we're just about to be fried turkey.
You know, turkey all are known for.
They got two things.
Their transplant is whirl and derby with their friend,
and they just spend hours and hours.
and hours and hours.
And I didn't really know.
I heard people say a whirl and derbys.
It wasn't until I got older than I realized they're actually praying.
They're doing a chant.
And they do that six, seven, eight, ten, twelve hours, Joe.
And so that's what I knew whirl and derbys.
I didn't know they were from Turkey.
But anyway, look, now this is the most important because you're on home soil.
We've got to, somehow, Ocho, we got to get to, oh, yeah, get to.
And I don't really want to put the cart in front of the horse
And that's because I need the horse to pull the car.
Yeah, damn it.
Yeah.
We got to, we got to get to 16.
We've got to.
It is an absolute must on home soil.
And there ain't no telling, it probably won't happen again in our lifetime
where we'll have the men's World Cup on American soil.
Yeah.
So they've got to come to, Joe, Joe, they got to come through with this.
They got to.
Uncle Joe, I want your.
to understand how difficult it is, you know, to get to that round of 16.
It's about playing solid, mistake-free football.
I mean, that's what it's going to have to be.
You're going to have to be solid.
I'm talking about almost damn near perfect in all three phases of the game.
Midfield, your backline defensively.
When you're attacking offensively, inside, inside 18, anything inside of that box,
always wanting to make the extra pass.
You have to do almost everything perfect.
and the margin of error is so small, so small,
once you're playing against better opponents
or opponents that are just as good
or better than you,
every, every, every moment counts.
Every single moment in possession counts.
Hey, but now the real deal about to start now.
Yeah, you win and you're advanced.
You lose, you go home.
In the group stage, you know, you got three games in group stage.
Once you lose, now moving forward, you're taking your ass home.
The U.S. won't have far to go because they're on home turf.
Yeah, hey, we can't, hey, we can't let nobody come on our front porch now,
try to fight us.
Now, they ain't what I'm saying, yes.
Yeah, I'm with your name.
Hey, they come where they think you the strong is there.
Hey, we got to come through.
I'm like, um, man.
Hey, you know, how do you feel, Joe, you know what it's like to go into somebody else building
and kick their ass?
Oh, Joe, you know what it's like to go in somebody else stadium and kick their ass.
But look here, they're in our country.
Yeah.
The whole country.
I don't care what anybody say.
That seemed anticlimactic.
And I'm looking at the thing of the crowd.
And I know, you know, everybody was excited, Ocho,
you were in attendance at the game,
left a little bit early.
But at the end of the day, man,
that crowd was stunned.
I don't care what they say.
Yeah.
They were.
They were.
Hey, listen, that.
When we get to that round of 32,
I mean, what, we got a round of 32,
we got a knockout state.
Man, we got to get to a game, man.
We got, look, man,
look, my heart can't take it, Ocho.
Man, if we lose a game,
If we lose the Bosnil, we lose in the round of 16, a game like this,
Ocho, I can't take that, man.
I ain't what he lied to you.
We got, we got to get past round of 32 first, boy.
That's what I'm saying.
Even if we, Ocho, can you imagine losing it around of 32 like that?
Hey, I'd be hurt.
Yeah, I bet I can't take that.
I know, Ocho might come on here and share that too.
I might cry.
USA, don't do it like that, bro.
I might, go.
Joe, this comes around every four years, Joe.
I cried when the Steelers beat the Bengals.
Ain't no telling what might happen.
What might happen.
Yeah.
I mean, a game of this magnitude on our home turf.
I mean, look, I watch the World Cup every four years when it come around and watch the men when they're all different places.
But here, what was it that last time?
Wasn't it that cutter?
It was in Qatar and Qatar.
Yeah.
And, you know, they moved it because of the, I don't know how they ended up.
That's not here in their temperatures.
That would be like having a World Cup in Vegas or Arizona.
in the summer. Like what?
Yeah. And Cutter and Qatar, excuse me.
I mean, they had they changed the name. It was Cutter or Qatar,
so Qatar, you know what I'm talking about, Chad.
But, man, we got, we got, we got to get past Bosnia.
And I know Bosnia is a very good team.
And, and, and, but hell, we're a good team too.
Damn it. Damn them.
Hey.
Hell.
We got, hey, you know, we got to, we got to match them, huh?
We got, we got, we got to match them.
Hey, we got to, bro.
We got this.
we got this
I can't wait
I can't wait
Hey what day they play
I'll ask when did they play
hold on
see if you got up here
no
Ash doesn't have it up here
when do they play a game
when the Wednesday the 32
July 1st Wednesday
Ocho
okay okay okay okay so I got
I'm going to Portugal
Columbia Saturday
yeah Miami Saturday night
that's that's going to
hey
what you talk about
atmosphere
You should, you two need the experience?
The back of Columbia and Portugal crowd?
Man, listen.
It's going to be like that?
Joe, you that made me take my shades off, Joe.
You know, you know I got one bad act.
Huh?
Hey, hey, hey, I like that little Dita jacket you got on, bro.
That's nice.
Oh, hey, I appreciate this, boy, I appreciate this.
My bad, I know, I know I'm off topic, but I, you know, I like that little Dita, Jack.
What size is that?
What size is that?
It's your size.
What's up?
Well, it's snatching it off your ass size.
That's what it is.
That's why I'm talking about.
Yeah, yeah.
Give me that.
Go ahead.
Come on, USA.
Hey, don't let us die.
Hey, well, y'all got a,
they don't got our hopes up so, so high.
Yeah.
Because they're playing so well.
And Ocho, you were talking about,
look, we first game,
we had never seen them be this aggressive throughout an entirety of a match.
And we see them not have a letdown against Australia.
They win consecutive matches.
It's the first time.
And damn,
they're 100 years. And that, look,
and for me,
and look,
anything can happen in a given game. It doesn't mean,
but I'm saying, I was like, man,
I really, really was hoping to go undefeated
in group play. They really give
some, now look, if I'm not mistaken, I think
Argentina, I think they lost
in group play last year, or the last
work of all the time. Matter of fact, and they lost
to a team, I don't want to see.
Was it Saudi Arabia? It was Saudi Arabia.
2-1. That was a good game
too, boy. Yeah.
And so look, anything, I don't be, I don't be like it.
Well, you know such and such did this.
Man, you know such and such had a dog and his name was lucky and you got a dog
name Lucky and he worked for a hundred pizion.
You might be, man.
Man, shut up.
I ain't trying to hear all that nonsense, man.
Man, hey, Chad, I know y'all can tell I'm hard about this, man.
I was, man, I was about to come over here and talk.
I told you, old show, man, this turkey league hood.
I told you when you were you going to have fried turkey, this day and give it.
You always got to have a regular turkey and a fried turkey.
One thing about soccer is, you know, there's some teams at the bottom.
There's some teams at the top.
But is whatever team plays best that day.
Yeah.
And, you know, it's not guaranteed that the better team going to win with the better players.
It just, dude, the margin for error is so small, Joe, man.
It's like, yeah, man, it's crazy.
It's really going to ramp up and get crazy around at 32 because don't nobody want to make no mistakes.
Don't want to make the mistakes.
Don't nobody want to take no chances.
Nobody wants to play free-flowing football.
They're playing nervous, always passing the ball back, not taking nobody on.
I mean, there might be one, I mean, maybe two or three teams that they have so much death
where they can take certain chances and know that they're covered on the back end.
You know, I know we can get away with attacking and being aggressive and being out of position
because our defense got us.
Everybody feels like that.
Yeah.
But anyway, the USA men,
they lose the turkey tonight,
three, two, and the final minutes of play.
And now the real fun begins.
It's the round of 32, the USA play Bosnia and Herzegovina.
And we'll see.
They play Wednesday, July 1st.
That match takes place,
and we'll see if they can advance to the round of,
of the round of 16.
But before the round of 16, there's the
round of 32. So the USA
wins, Group D stage
with two wins and
a loss, and they advanced
along with Australia.
And we'll see just how far this thing
can go. We are home soil.
Our men are playing very, very well. I thought they
played really well the first couple of minutes, the opening
minutes of the game. They scored so quickly.
And then they would seem like they're on
the defense of the rest of the half.
And then they came out. And then, you know,
When you get opportunities, Ocho, and Joe, you see they had many, many opportunities to extend the lead, to go up three, two, to possibly go up four, two.
And it was just a little bit off.
And give turkey credit, they hung around, they hung around, hung around.
And in the closing minutes of OT, excuse me, E.T.
Extra time.
They slide the gold in and they win them.

Listen to Zawara Football on the Ayr Radio app,
Apple Podcast, or whatever you get your podcast.
They win the match.
So they have something positive to go back home,
Turkey and talk about,
and USA, we advance.
And so that's what it is.
Well, we had a big trade last night.
The Charlotte Hornets traded lamello ball
and Josh Green to the Timberwoods for Nas Reed
and a series of draft picks.
The Hornets will receive a 2033,
unprotected first round pick,
Three second round picks, 2029, 2032, 233.
Charlotte also get first round pick swaps in 28, 29, and 30.
The Timberwolves now have number one and number three picks from the 2020 draft.
Joe, did Minnesota just become a dangerous backcourt in the Western Conference after Perry,
Mello and Ant Man, together in Minnesota?
Man, I don't know how dangerous they're going to be, Ocho.
They damn show going to be fun and watching.
Oh, man, they're going to be fun to watch.
I would dig her way to say that, Joe.
They might not be the most dangerous,
but they're going to be entertaining as hell.
Oh, man.
Hey, because, you know, you got to understand both of those guys
probably ranked top five, top 10,
and signature shoes that's out right now,
lamello with Puma,
and man with Adidas,
and just the aura that they both carry.
I think they're going to make each other better, bro.
I think it's definitely going to help.
if y'all notice we always talk about a copycat lead whether it's the NFL
whether it's the NBA you see what Minnesota got going on they they're trying to
surround Rudy with all these tweeners who can do a little bit of everything kind of like
how San Antonio obviously Rudy ain't no damn whimby but you know they they play they
hey I kind of see it same way with New York New York got cat at the 5 but then you
got OG heart bridges you got you know you got all these tweena guys around them so I
I can kind of see that's what Minnesota's going because they got rid of their beef.
I think they, they, they, they, yeah, Joe, I think the thing is that they need more scoring.
They need consistent scoring.
They need somebody that Ant Man that can absorb some of these double teams from Ad Man.
Yeah.
Ant Man was facing constant double teams.
And so to try to lighten the load on him, he has a guy that can stretch the floor.
They haven't had this type of guy in a very, very long time.
He can shoot the three.
He is good of one leg shooting three as we have in the NBA.
He can put the ball on the floor.
He got a nice bloke game.
He can finish.
Now, look, he ain't much on the defensive end.
But he's going to put so much pressure.
He and Edmatter going to put so much pressure on you on the offensive end.
And he says, this is what we need.
This is a scoring lead.
League, excuse me, league.
You're not fend to hold somebody to 80, 90 points consistently.
You might have a game, maybe two games,
where you keep a team under 100,
but you better be able to score on the other end.
Because if you counting on your defense,
90 in and night out of Joe,
like this was, the 90,
the 80s, the whole team's under 90 points,
that issue ain't happening in today's game.
Nah, no, no.
I see Lamello, Ocho,
he's going to make the game a lot easier for Ant Man.
You know what I mean?
Because Lamello is a past first point guard who can score.
You know what I'm saying?
So it's going to be nice where he's probably going to have 16 assists,
12 points.
It's going to be other nights he may have 27 points and 8, 9 assists.
You know what I'm saying?
Like he's one of those guys who are going to be able to fill out
game, but he knows he's going to always have to get Ant Man going.
So I think his high IQ for the game is so underrated.
I'm glad he's been put in this position to where he can kind of showcase what he can do
on a playoff caliber team, you know, who's trying to, you know, ultimately win a championship.
Now, I know they want to do anything they can, bro, to please Ant Man and try to keep him
around.
I think this is a step in the right direction.
Now, although I don't think they're done because you got to have, you got to have some
size,
you got to have something.
You ain't got number of Rudy.
That ain't going to,
they ain't going to get it.
No.
I think,
but Joe,
concern with that thing is
because you know
Mello take a lot of bad shots.
Yeah.
Now,
the thing is,
he's not a prototype.
He's not the old school point guard.
Mello's looking,
I mean,
what are the average?
Now,
I am not surprised by this trade.
When they went,
when they got,
went and got Kobe right,
they really love Conkin.
They like,
okay,
we're more conventional now.
They want to build around C Cinnipple.
They want to build around Brandon Miller.
They want now.
So we got Kobe.
We got Cinnipple.
We got Brandon Miller.
I like what we got right now.
And so I am,
people like,
oh, I am not shocked by this.
And plus,
mellow injury history.
Yeah.
So I have,
because guess what, Joe,
Ocho,
in two years,
he's looking smack dab at 300 million.
Oh, yeah.
Oh, yeah.
Oh, yeah.
The team are thinking about that now, Joe.
I think they're thinking more about that,
having to give a guy that third contract.
Right.
Okay, the rookie contract is easy.
That's a no-brainer.
He's slotted here.
This is what he's going to make.
Now we got a rookie,
now we got him on the second contract.
Is he an all-NBA selection?
Is it an all-defensive selection?
He's an MVP.
Is he a defensive player at the year?
Because now that makes you get a super max contract.
Now we get to that third contract, Joe.
That's $2.9 and that's $300.
And at this third contract, hell, we still ain't no damn play on.
You know what I'm saying?
So you're right.
These teams are trying to get away from that.
But to kind of piggyback on what you were saying about the Kobe White thing,
I think he plays so well in those playing games, Uncle Ocho,
and not even just then.
But since he came from Chicago, I think he's been so consistent.
He was just great in those playing games that I think they really looked at it.
was like, you know what?
Hell, if we do have to get off La Mello, that's cool.
I feel like Jacobi can run this point.
You know, we like Khan Knappel.
We like Brandon Miller.
You know, we like the high-energy guys that we got.
Man, maybe we just move forward
because if you're fighting to get in the damn play in
and understanding, you know,
hell, the heat doesn't get better.
The ether got a little thicker, too.
You know what I mean?
So why not move on, why don't I move on him now
when he's probably at his highest value
because he's just coming off probably his best,
season statistically in the NBA.
And Mello can score.
We know Mello can score.
Yeah.
I mean, you don't realize how tall he is.
He's legit six, seven.
Yeah.
Oh, yeah.
Can get his shot up.
It's very unorthodox.
But he can get that shot off.
He can put the ball in floor.
He got way above average handles.
He can finish.
He got a float.
He can finish.
So I, but I am not surprised by this based on the simple fact.
His injury history.
He's going to come up on a third year contract.
And as you said, Joe, now we're in the playing.
Now we're fighting for 9, 9, 10 left.
Nah, hell, now, 300 million for that.
Nah, let somebody else deal with that.
Yeah, hey.
Right.
Hey.
Go ahead, Ojo.
I'll be, I'm going to say, I mean,
he's one of the few players that Charlotte's had that can put butts in the seat.
As far as of how they're seeing it going, Uncle Joe,
they come in to see Lamello because he's unpredictable.
He's exciting.
He's entertaining.
He's put forward to this.
You don't know what's going to happen.
so to let a figure of that magnitude go.
And then you pair them with someone who just is polarizing as he is on the court,
off the court.
Not only thing in Minnesota got to worry about is they got to make sure, you know,
you know, he dry out the right way.
That's it.
Let me, Ocho.
Yeah.
They traded Luca Donchich.
Now, with them training Luca Donchitz, he's a six-time first-team all-N-N-B-A selection.
Do you think who is untradable in the NBA?
Nobody. Everybody can get it.
Wimby?
Because once they traded Luca, the NBA was on notice.
Everybody in the NBA was on.
They traded a guy 25 years old.
That was a five-time first team all-NBA selection.
A rookie of the year.
And he's a potential, he's top five MVP selection every single year.
And they moved it.
Yeah.
I'm not surprised by this.
Everybody got the green light.
And so guess what?
They moved and why?
Man, he on the second contract.
That third contract going to be $350, going to be $400 million.
He has some help.
We know he's outstanding.
Led the league and scoring again for the second time.
Over 33, what, 32, 33, 34 points a game.
Yes, sir.
He's done that.
But, man, injuries are starting to creep up.
There's some habits that he has.
Yeah.
The working out habit, there's some habits that he got that,
You know, you know, Ocho, I mean, look, he's a phenomenal talent.
We're not taking that away from him, but to give $350 and it's kind of hard to get him to, like the old mute,
my grandma said, boy, can't get you like a mule, can't get you to the G-H.
I mean, go or stop.
If we can't get him to G-A-Hah and he's on a rookie contract or first and second contract,
what the hell we're going to do when he get the 300, 350?
Nothing.
Yeah.
I'm just, I'm not saying they should or they should.
shouldn't have. I'm just trying to have a business
as these owners how they're thinking.
Yeah. And, and listen,
but we all know Minnesota was looking for a point guard.
Yes. They needed a point guard. They needed somebody who could control things.
We've seen the double teams that Amman was getting who could take some pressure
off of them. And this is one, this is one guy who I definitely think going to help.
But I think for Minnesota, what they're really looking for, Uncle Ocho, is for
Jaden McDaniels to take their next. Yes.
next step.
Yes, yes.
He has to take that next step,
I know we talk about it all the time,
and I tell you,
he's going to need anywhere from a nice,
efficient 16 to 22, 24 points a night
consistently, bro,
for them to be effective
and still be that defensive paralysis
like a Scotty Pippin type.
Yes.
You know what I mean?
Yes.
Hey, hey, hey,
they're going to need him to really turn the corner,
you know, this upcoming season.
Well, and they're hoping that with you and stuff out of there,
because when they passed the ball to juie he's like man who got the ball?
You ain't getting it back.
What?
If you get it back, it's going to be with four seconds on the clock.
Bro, you had the ball in 12 seconds.
And all you did was peep, peep, peep, peep, and then shoot a wild shot and didn't look at the referee.
They said Julius ran to the Brooklyn, man.
Hey, they said that man to Brooklyn.
and not for a first round.
They traded him and a 28 pick in the first round
for a second round pick.
They traded that man for a 1974 Pinto.
Right, right.
I couldn't believe it.
I could.
Oh, man, come on.
Joe, you know when you want to get rid of something,
you don't care where they go.
Oh, you don't have to care what.
that's like somebody giving up four,
$500 million to their ex
on a divorce settlement.
Do you really know how tired you must be
of somebody saying, yeah, I got $500 million for you by?
Yeah, I got a billion for you by.
Yeah, I got a billboard for you by.
That's what they said.
Yeah.
We really don't want anything in return.
Because think about it.
For every Draymond Green and Nicola Yokic
and Jalen Brunson, second round picks
that turn out to be, well, we know
Yoke's is going to be a Hall of Famer.
Draymond Green is training in that direction, two MVP,
a defensive player of the year of four championships,
and Jalen Brunson is what he's done.
He's definitely training in that direction.
How many second round picks we actually think are going to do something?
I mean, you got way back win when it was like four or five rounds.
You had Willis Reed, if I'm not mistaken,
the second round pick.
But for the most part, in the mock common draft,
that ain't happening.
So for them to give up a first round pick,
even later first round picks,
basically you're trying to get guys in a lot.
Look at the guy that's one in the guys that won MVP's.
Most of those guys are early round pick, at least top 10.
Yeah.
So I'm not surprised and considering how poorly Julius played against San Antonio.
And, you know, you got to get San Antonio credit now.
They're a hell of a defensive team, okay, Ocho.
Yeah.
You know what I mean?
I think, you know, now I know Julius didn't play,
he didn't play his best ball against him.
but it must have been something more than that.
I'm sure it is.
You know what I mean?
Because they got out the first round.
You know, they was able to beat the Nuggets.
I thought they played well in that series.
It's just, man, you played against a hell of a team,
a hell of a San Antonio team, bro.
And the power forward, you should be able to do,
you should be able to have your way against Bacell and down,
and capsule.
I'm sorry, Joe.
As a six, nine power forward.
Those are twos and threes that are guarding you in the post.
Hey, hey, them boys playing big, though.
These ain't no regular, too.
I get, listen, listen, listen, I understand what you're saying,
but these ain't no regular.
So you let a, you're going to let a six,
you're going to let a six to three guard,
a two guard, or a point guard, guard,
guard you in the post.
I'm not.
That's six, nine and a half.
And you got Bacill and you got counsel.
And I know counsel is unbelievable.
But that's the problem, Joe,
that's the problem.
They paying this man $35 million.
That's supposed to be your advantage.
him. Yeah. Yeah.
Especially when you hobbled because
Amman is hobbled. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I understand
that. I understand that. And then we cut
I think that's why they go. Remember, Gordon
was kind of hobbled in the first round
against him. So now that would have been the matchup.
So he had an advantage and he kind of took advantage
of that. Now when Ant Man is still
kind of hobble, we pay, you're supposed
to be the difference maker. Remember, they traded
cat for.
you.
Yeah.
The boy just got him one.
Now they feel, not he looking like, oh, Lord, we traded.
Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, you got to move on.
Got to move on.
And like you said, and my thing, if you hear about Kobe said, go, you know,
you get in, you go get, bro, you're not Kobe.
You're not Kobe.
These guys got to stop thinking.
Oh, Kobe saying this.
And I appreciate Kobe in partaking, rest of your soul, Kobe.
In partaking wisdom on these guys.
But the problem is these guys actually think they're Kobe.
Yeah, they got the mamba mentality.
They think they had the mentality.
They got king snake.
They got brown snake, no venom.
See, what made the black mamba so deadly is that the black mamba isn't the most toxic snake in the world.
Right.
That's a crate.
That's an inland Tapan.
That's a common brown.
They're probably two or three at the viper, maybe the Gaboon Viper or the Russell's Viper has more toxic in Africa than the Mamba.
But the Mamba is one of the few snakes that will bite without provocation.
He's looking for a problem.
Kobe didn't need any reason to do something bad to you.
Right.
So that's what I'm saying.
People like the Black Mamba, no, the Black Mombie is not even close.
to being one of the most toxic snake in the world.
And now they're starting crossing snakes
to get even more toxicity.
You bleed out of anything that has a hole,
you bleed out of it.
Hey, if you got a pet snake, John,
I do not want to come over your house.
You know what?
If it's venomous.
Snakes and spiders.
Hey, Joe, you scared of snakes and spiders, boy?
Nakes and spiders, you,
I don't play with those snakes and spiders.
I know what they have on me when I see you.
Yeah.
I know what they have on me when I see you, Joe.
I love me some spot.
You know in high school,
he used to call me arachnophobia.
No.
Yeah.
Because you used to get down on all fours
and get busy.
Come on.
Hey, hey, see how you don't
left field?
Hey, look at it.
You see that?
You see a lot of it.
Ocho was talking about
arachnophobia, which is we're a spider.
And so now we're talking about
Oh, you get out of an office.
Come on, Joe, where are you going with this?
Hey, hey, hey, y'all got a chill, bro, for real.
That's you, Joe.
Y'all can't be trying to point.
Like one of them little kids in class.
See, see?
Come on, man.
How are you going to go to talking about spiders and snakes?
And you're talking about getting on forward trying to get busy.
Because that man said he's a ragnophobia.
So I'm saying.
That is the fear of spiders.
And arachmen.
Huh?
Yes, that is the fear of spiders.
What did he was?
They used to call me a ragnophobia.
Ragnophobia.
you know exactly what he's saying.
What I'm saying is.
Ocho and I've been trying to tell y'all, I said,
I ain't never been number one.
Nah.
You know, I ain't, I'm just here.
Joe, that's between Joe and Joe, Joe,
and Joe, Joe took over.
Chad, chat, anytime somebody is in denial,
like the way the E-Board be,
that's how you know they're number one,
because they can't wait to try and deflect
and put something on me.
No, we know they're not.
We're not deflecting.
You said it.
We're showing you that your innocence is not who you truly are.
Yeah, y'all check them out, Chad.
Go ahead.
Keep going on.
What you're saying?
Joe.
Joe.
I pulled Joe.
I'm a police officer.
Go ahead.
I pulled you over for speeding.
You got me side the road talking about what about all those other kinds.
Look how fast.
I said, well, you know what?
Joe, if I had to pull you over, I could have got one of them.
But I got you side the road.
Uh-huh.
That's you, what?
You know what?
Maybe have Ocho saying.
said, what he said, what you said,
we could have pointed at Ocho.
But you said that we're talking about spiders.
Ocho said, they used to call your boy arachnophobia,
which is the fear of spiders and arachnid.
You talk about, yeah, because you,
he was on all four getting busy.
He's like, where did this come from?
Yeah.
I must say, well, I must say, I probably,
you admit her, you were exactly right.
I know, I know.
He didn't did at the past four shows in a row.
Yes.
You know, you went all the way in left field.
and who's counting?
Listen.
We're counting because you quit to point it on me.
Man, I told you, man.
Hey, Ung, Ocho,
man, me, chat, we already know y'all, big freaks.
Ain't nobody, listen, the thing is,
it don't make y'all no bad brothers, man.
We still like y'all the same.
Ain't nobody judge, y'all.
We just know what it is.
No, the Bible teaches us judge you not.
At least you be judged.
So that is, we judge free.
That what I'm saying.
We can judge.
But it's the fact that you quit, man, man, um, man.
Oh, you know you saying you was hell when you were well.
Hey, so we know now, hey, I so Joe didn't play back in the day.
That's what I'm saying.
That's what I'm saying.
Listen, man.
Listen, listen.
Listen, listen, I know this man if he claiming he was any type of insect or anything,
that mean he was doing something freaky.
That's just who he is.
That's just who he is.
That's who he is, bro.
This man said from a freaky,
this man said, because the man said he was an insect,
he had to be doing something freaky.
Yeah, Joe.
You know what?
Get your mind.
Don't get your mind out of the gutter, man.
Yeah, y'all see this?
Y'all see this.
All right.
My bad, my bad, Chad.
My bad.
My bad.
You're right.
It ain't your kid.
I'm a chill.
I'm a chill.
It's too late now.
It's too late.
Yeah.
Say, damage, I already done.
Yeah.
It's been done.
business that does that.
Damn it.
Damn it.
Damn it.
Hey, you know what, damn it.
Call me what you want.
You know what, damn.
You'll be number one.
Damn, I'll be number one.
Damn, I'm number one.
I'm number one.
I'll be number one.
Oh, Joe.
Now I think, hey, guys, a chat,
I think I know what happened.
Well, I think I know to get that heat,
to get the heat up of him,
Joe might have set me up with the video.
Joe might have set me up with the tape.
Okay.
What?
He might have said,
somebody to infiltrate us,
Oh, Joe?
I think so.
Man, listen.
I'll pick it up with you putting down, huh?
Hold on.
You think my character gives off
that type of vibe?
Oh, for show.
That's, that's...
You're talking about Arkansas.
Shady.
Man, they're Shady.
Nah, nah, nah.
We may,
hey, we might be a little shitey
in the way we move
sometimes, but Shady, I wouldn't say Shady.
Okay, Shite.
You know, like...
Shady. You all started with ass.
Yes.
Yeah, like,
like, we owe you something.
If we owe you some money,
something we may not pay you, you know, that type of thing.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. You owe me still.
I had to, I had to forget about all that.
My bad. Yeah, but that's okay.
Joe, like you said, you being number one, I still look at you the same.
I think you're as clutch of the NBA player that they've ever created.
Yes.
A big shot taker, a big shot maker.
Yes, sir.
That's you.
So anything outside of that, you take it and making big shots, I still hold you in high regard.
Same, same over here, Joe.
Huh?
Hey, I don't look at you no different.
You hear me?
Listen,
y'all would be number one?
I'd be number one.
I'll be number one.
I'll be number one free.
Hey, that's you cool.
Yeah, I'll take that with that.
Hey, hold it down.
Hey, you know what?
Hey, it's so bad.
He's so delusional.
He's the type that need therapy.
He needs counseling.
Yes.
He don't even realize it.
He the type need to be in them, like,
them la A.A. classes.
Yeah.
What?
I'm not an alcoholic, but you out there drinking six in the morning.
You're drinking 12 in the afternoon.
Then you're drinking again at night.
That's what Joe is.
He's the guy to go to the freak Anonymous.
I saw Joe Johnson and I'm a freak and people clap for him.
He's like, well, hell, y'all are you talking about it.
I'm going to stay a freak.
Y'all was supposed to boom.
But hell, once y'all started clapping, I'm going to keep doing what I'm doing.
Listen, listen.
Hey, I can't believe you an Ocho on here tonight acting like that, man.
Damn.
My light off, man.
It's all good.
Like I said, that don't make you no bad, brother.
And I think, I hate that.
Look, I think the thing is with Nasree going to Charlotte,
because there's two parts of this,
a big guy that can stretch the floor.
Oh, yeah.
He's another stretch guy.
Look, they got guys that's going to be able to shoot the cup off the ball.
Brandon Miller can shoot the three,
but he can elevate.
He can finish above the rim.
Knieple, we know, the most threes by a rookie.
In NBA history,
he can shoot it.
He's only going to get better.
Yeah.
I like Kobe White.
He can shoot the three.
He got great handles.
He can penetrate.
Hey, look, the East, and then like I said, they beat Miami.
Ended up losing, I think they ended up losing to Orlando.
Orlando.
They might, I'm not, look, obviously, they're not no serious contenders.
I don't, this move does not put them above the Knicks.
And I don't think it puts them above Detroit and some of the other teams.
I think what Miami
doing what they did.
I don't think that puts them above Miami.
But I think they can cause some problems
because like you said, Joe, the other night,
after the All-Star break,
they had one of the best records in the NBA.
Yeah, yeah.
Well, that's definitely something they did.
They were playing great ball.
Yeah, they were playing great balls.
So I think they added some great pieces.
I guess what they're going to do with Miles Bridges,
I think, okay, Ocho,
because if you bring over Big Boards,
Now as Reid, I think it's time, I think it's time for Brits.
I think it's time of him to get paid.
Well, it is.
He's on expiring contract, a little under $23 billion a year.
That makes him very, very enticing to someone because they only have one year on that contract.
I don't, I don't think that could be they keep him and he plays out of his mind because he can score.
He's another dude bad.
He get hot.
Yeah.
Oh, yeah.
He get it going, boy.
And you know what?
I think what's underrated in this because,
Lamello had great chemistry with those guys, bro.
You talk about C Cinepple, the rookie year that he had.
Lamello had a lot to do with that.
You know what I'm saying?
With him getting assists off of Conniple,
him getting assists off of Brandon Miller.
I just thought it was a great match,
but obviously you weren't going to be at the top of the damn E,
so it's going to be hard to pay a guy 300-some-M,
so I don't get up off of him,
why he got some great value and some great years left in him.
Because at least for the next two, three years,
he in Minnesota,
they'll really get a chance to kind of see what they made.
But if you think about it, Joe,
when you go back to Minnesota,
cat seven foot,
let him go.
You trade,
let him go,
and you trade it for a six,
nine and a half Julius Randall.
I don't know how tall Knopf reads,
what,
16, 611,
you let him go.
You're kind of small.
Now,
Oonkin,
on your joke,
you're kind of really small.
Yeah.
Yeah, you are.
Six, four and a half.
You got Mello six, seven,
you got DeSomu,
you got,
Jane Daniels, we got Rudy Goberra.
Now, they're going to need a big to back Rudy Gober up.
Because you're not getting, you're not getting offense for Rudy.
Rudy is there to anchor your defense.
So now you're going to need points on the offensive end.
And you're going to need another, you probably need another defender.
And Jewish's random wasn't a great defender.
But I think you're going to need some defensive guys.
You got all those guys with offensive weaponry.
Now, Edman going to hold his own.
Yeah.
But Mello is really not a defender.
And I don't, and I hadn't seen enough.
for the Somo to see if he's a really defender.
We know Jane McDaniels and we know Rudy.
Those are your defenders.
Hey, hey, but we do know that the young book, Terran Shannon,
who made his playoff debut.
He, hey, he's going to be in a rotation this year.
Oh, Joe, you know what I mean?
Yeah.
But I think with Minnesota, because Rudy is a defensive big
and the way he played against Denver against Yokic.
You know what I'm saying?
The defense that he put on Yokage in that first round, bro,
they helped them get out of that round.
So you, you know, you got to try to hope
if you do run into that problem again,
he can kind of duplicate that type of performance.
But, man, when you play San Antonio,
you play OKC.
You're going to have your hands full, Joe.
You're going to have your hands full.
But listen, when you got all those guys surrounded,
you know, like they got Rudy,
I just feel like your backup going to have to be
some type of a shooting threat on the Ocho.
You got to have a big who can shoot the ball, bro.
You know what I mean?
to be able to mix up coverages and give different looks.
But those guys, Ant Man, Lamello, McDaniels, Iyo,
like two of those guys are going to have to be special.
They're going to have to be pretty damn good
on a night-to-night basis.
You know what I mean?
And I think the thing is,
if you look at teams that have bigs,
the bigs are opposite of what the starter is.
If you look at, look at Cat starts,
but Mitchell Robinson is totally different.
You look at Wemby and Cornette is totally opposite.
You look at Rudy Gobera.
Nas Reid was totally opposite.
So you're going to have to get somebody.
I agree with you, Joe.
You're going to have to get somebody that's an offensive threat.
You can't have two defensive threats at the big position.
Because listen, you already know what's going to happen when you meet the cream of the crop, meaning the Spurs.
Wemby going to be playing damn free safety and their defense going to look elite.
They defense going to look elite because if your five man ain't no threat, that's why the Knicks
able to win, bro, because
Cat was such a threat. You know, if you're big,
if your five can't shoot, you're
in trouble, boy. The wolves also
discussed, Adon, discussed
Jalen Brown with the Celtics before
Traylor and Mello per John
Kowaziz, uh,
Czznik.
Uh, I forgot,
bra, you got this name. I don't know
with the C-Z-Y-N.
Krasinski. Uh, let's go
with Krasinski.
John Krasinski.
Uh, Minnesota thought Mello
as fitting more what they needed
and far less compensation going out.
Man
listen, if I'm J.B.
Jalen Brown,
I really don't give damn what happened.
You got to be hurt, huh, Joe?
Every time something come up
is always his name that's in the conversation
to be in traded. This ain't the first time.

You know what?
Let's get to that topic.
Boston sales are reporting looking for a big man who are looking for a big man and are willing to trade Jalen Brown to acquire one per Chris Mannix.
Boston continued to discuss J.B. trades on Tuesday.
Two sources familiar with Talks Tales Sports Illustrated.
Many other conversations were initiated by rival teams.
sources say some were broken by the Celtics they are hunting a big says rival executive and they're
willing to trade jb to get it this is the problem that i have jb gets mad at stephen a jb gets mad at
at places like nightcap and others get mad at the boston celtics you can't get mad at organizations
for covering you being brought up because guess what you arrived in boston one year before jason
Tatum.
Jason Tatum,
name has never come up in a trade
when Boston were trying to acquire someone.
Your name has constantly come up.
And everybody gets mad at Stephen A.
People get mad at us for discussing it.
Get mad at Boston for keep putting your damn name
and trade discussions wanting to get off of you.
It's not our fault that Boston Celtics organization
view Jason Tatum more favorably than they view you.
Every parent, and don't let them lie to you, have a favorite.
Jason Tatum is the Boston Celtics favorite.
You get mad at everybody saying,
ain't nobody, fans in Boston,
ain't nobody trying to put J.B and J.T. against each other.
The Boston Celtics say we feel Jason Tatum is better.
We have this piece that is valuable,
and we're willing to trade Jalen Brown to acquire more.
That is not conjecture.
That is not innuendo.
That is not speculation.
That is fact.
That's why Jason Tatum name doesn't appear.
This ain't got nothing to do with anything else.
Take Stephen A.
I get it.
Y'all upset Stephen A going back and forth,
and I've had conversations with Stephen A.
Bro, you don't need to do it.
Stephen A is who he is.
He's going to do what he want to do.
He's grown.
We all grown.
But y'all can't get mad at Stephen A.
Y'all need to get mad at Brad Stevens.
Y'all need to get mad at the Boston Celtics organization
for continuously putting this
man in trade discussions.
Not us for discussing it.
Go ahead, Joe.
Yeah.
No, hey, listen,
I don't understand why they're trying to get out of J.B. so bad,
Uncle Ocho, because I just feel like him and Tatum,
I mean, arguably when they're healthy,
they're the best duo in the Eastern Conference.
You know what I mean?
And unfortunately, you had to deal with some setbacks this season,
which was Jason Tatum, one of your key guys.
eyes. But man, listen, I think
J.B.
I think he is pissed off at the Celtics.
Yeah. Yeah. I think
I think he is pissed off at the Celtics.
I don't think he can.
Hold on. Joe, before you go any farther, Ocho, before you chain,
let's talk to the sound. Jay-B.
is in France. Let's take a listen to what he
had to say. Leader behind
that was ESPN. ESPN is
unethical. And Stephen A. Smith
is the head face of that. But, you know,
the organization, the players,
they were all in the grance.
They all knew what I meant about that.
Our team was basically salary dumps.
We lost a lot of players.
And for us to emerge and still be in the same position,
we got to start to understand like success doesn't always mean.
So in other words, the optics, remember he said,
he said he felt that this was his best year.
His best year, they got beat early.
optics is everything.
Optics is everything.
Joe, if somebody's walking on the train,
if I shove someone off the train tracks,
without the context of you knowing the train is coming
and I saved them, you're like, man,
why shall you push that person on the train tracks?
Yeah.
They're looking at like, bro, you scored less,
you rebounded less, you assisted less,
and you won a championship.
And the year that you scored more dead,
X, Y, and Z, you lost,
and you said that's your,
best season is just the opposite.
I knew what you were saying.
But the optics appeared
into the Boston said, no, no, no. You said
the Boston said, no, nope. They
didn't. They didn't.
They didn't.
Your teammates mighta, the organization
in the front office, that's what. Think about
it. Here's a guy that's a finals
MVP, an Eastern Conference MVP.
Just two
years ago.
In every year, damn near,
who names comes up in a trade,
discussion when it involves the Celtics.
It is, J.B.
You know what else, Uncle Joe?
What's that old Joe? What's that? When it comes to players like that,
that where the level of talent is almost equal, where you really can't go wrong
depending on who you choose, some people might say Jalen Brown is better. Some people
might say Jason Tatum is better. But when it comes to the organization,
wanted to take someone on and the person that they rather rather have long term would be
the safer pick. Jason Tatum, he says,
safe. There's no issues,
no problems.
I'm not going to say he's,
he's, you don't hear from him much.
So hold on,
hold on. So, so just because
J.B. a little outspoken. Yes.
That's a little scary.
Hey, Joe, that's a little scary.
That organization.
Okay. Yeah, yeah, I get it. I get it. You hit the devil
on the head. Yes. Yes. And I'm
I'm glad he brings light to attention to issues
that are prevalent, prevalent.
I'm glad he's in the
I'm glad he's trying to help the underprivileged, the black underprivileged community.
I'm glad for that.
But if you think teams like that, you're crazy.
No, no, no, no, no.
Yeah.
In Boston at that?
Hey, it's one of the top sports cities.
And they all about winning, Joe.
They're not about controversy.
No.
That's a huge, that's a big, that's a huge market.
They love their Celtics, boy.
No, no, yeah, they love them.
they love Bill Russell with all that
but what did they do to his house?
The greatest winner in sports history
they treated him.
What did they do to his house?
You better read his book.
Where was that?
Broke in his house and defecated on his floor.
Yeah, Bill Russell, they did that to him.
Yes, he wrote it in his book
for the longest time he'd never told anybody.
Y'all better stop playing.
You dead ass?
but look
we don't we don't look
we don't need to really get into the history
and I think the thing is
is that sometimes
Jalen Brown is great as he is
when guys
why you think they didn't like Ali
oh yeah
Ali spoke about him
he said y'all want me to fight big Kong
but they ain't never turn no dogs on me
they ain't never put no water holes on me
they ain't never called me the end word
yeah y'all do
at here, but you want to send me over there.
Hey, well, Ali was a trip, boy.
Yes. And that was a dad.
Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.
Karee was in college when he went to the summit in Cleveland in 1967 to speak out against
what they was doing to Muhammad Ali.
He was there with Jim Brown and all those others.
Go look at it.
Historically, historically, when guys have been outspoken that look like us,
And try it.
Uh-uh, no, no, no, no.
Mm-mm.
Well, listen, if some teams can use this damn service,
and I do think the Celtics are going to trade him,
I'm talking about before the season, for show, for show.
The name coming up in too many different situations.
It's always, but I'm just, Joe, but they help me understand.
Why is he upset it to people talking about it?
You need to go have that order to talk with.
with Brad Stevens.
You can't get mad because we cover it.
Yeah.
It got out some way somehow.
I mean, he'd know it coming from them.
We know where it's coming from.
The knock is always coming from inside the house, always.
But the problem is Stephen A is low-hanging fruit.
You're letting the organization that keep putting your name in the trade discussions.
They didn't say they would trade Jason Tatum for John Yonis.
They didn't say they didn't try to engage a Minnesota.
with Jason Tatum.
They didn't do that.
All these trades,
if you go back and study Boston
over the last five, six years,
anytime a trade
has come available,
whose name has been the first and foremost.
Yeah, he is.
Jaylor Brown.
Never Jason Tatum.
But I'm just trying to figure,
look, I get it.
He has this back and forth
with Stephen A,
and he felt Stephen A took personal shots
and said why he's not marketable
and why he's not this and why he didn't make the Olympic team.
And he says, you got two guys that are on my team that, that, uh, that, uh, that I'm,
uh, uh, holiday and Derek White and I didn't make the Olympic team.
I get, I get all of that.
I do.
I really do.
But I'm just saying, I just think his frustrations is pointing in the wrong direction.
That is just me.
I could be wrong.
Joe, you might have a different opinion.
Ocho, you may have a different opinion.
Chat, you may have a different opinion.
different opinion, but you can't get mad that we're talking about something that your organization
keep putting you in. Thanks. Why you, also, we talked about this. Why are you mad at how hard
I hit your quarterback when y'all keep running his ass on quarterback powers and quarterback's
speaks? If you don't value him, why should I? Yeah. If your organization keep putting you in
trade discussions, why are you mad that we're talking about it and not mad at them for putting your
asking the trade discussion.
Hey, Joe, y'all got asked him to get him over there in Atlanta or no?
Man, we've been out of great roster over here.
Hey, listen, I think we love to have him over here, Joe.
I ain't going to lie to you.
That'll put us at the top of the Eastern Conference.
I don't know about the top, but I hear you, though.
Hey, I know one thing, wherever you go, it's going to be motivating.
and listen,
with all the chirping that happened
when Jason Tatum went down
and they're saying,
well, the Celtics,
they're not going to be in it
and what he was able to do
with the Celtics
and have it at the number two seed
and playing out his mind,
same motivation.
Whatever drove him to do that,
it's probably going to be time,
it's going to be time,
times that,
whatever else.
Hey,
hey, listen,
wherever he ended up at
Uncle Ocho,
he's going to win.
And watch.
Hey, man.
That boy going to be so determined.
I hear me?
He's going to be so determined.
And pissed off.
They won't ever say this.
But I believe deep down, they didn't think he could be this.
Not what I tell him.
Nah.
They'll never say it, don't you.
They'll never say it, we knew this, we knew that.
Because if you knew this man would be this good,
why the hell you put him in this kind of,
y'all, y'all make a single little man, 35.
He still can't be no more than what,
39-ish.
Yeah.
With that being said,
he just gave it 29 points,
6 and 6.
6 and 5.
Deep down inside,
they didn't believe he could do this.
That's why they unloaded everything.
And keep it and keep and keep the ship afloat like that.
That's why they traded everything.
It was like, hey,
ain't no, we're not going anywhere.
We're not going to do anything.
So why should we keep holiday?
Why should we keep Brazigners?
Why should we try to resign Al Horford?
Hey, JT's going to be gone for at least this year.
They probably didn't expect him to come back.
He fought extremely hard to bring his ass back.
Probably wish he would have said to make sure
because in game seven, what was the game seven when they really needed him,
he couldn't give him to game because it was sore.
It was tender.
Wish he had to stayed out, but he wanted to come back.
Hopefully it's healthy now.
He's had some time to rest.
He can get back to training and be 1,000 percent.
season starts. But
boss, y'all ain't fooling me.
I know what y'all think of him.
You tell me every time his name come up in a trade
discussion and you moved all the pieces. The question is,
it had been very interesting and there's no way to definitively know.
If the roles were reversed,
are they getting off everybody if Jason Tatum is 100% healthy?
Are they getting off everybody?
We'll never know.
Never know. That's crazy.
It's just hard to,
Man, I mean, what all the rumors going on,
it's damn given that he's going to get traded,
but it's just, man, it's so hard to break them two up, bro.
How you get to the mountain top with these two,
and because of an injury, you know what I mean?
It kind of sets you back to the point.
You're willing to get rid of J.B.,
who has been consistent on both ends of the floor.
If you don't have him, you don't beat the damn Mavericks,
the way he picked up Luke of full court 94 feet,
and going at him offensively and defensively the way he was, bro.
Like, his value is high.
I bet you're just to, boy, look, they're on the phone right now.
They're on the phone right now trying to figure it out on, Joe.
But the thing is, but here's the thing, Joe.
He got a 300.
He's due for, I think this year, you can give him a two-year,
a 140 million extension.
He got 300.
You can add another two years for one.
42.
You trying to do that right now, Joe?
Now, see, I tell you how you turn your head.
That's my note.
Oh, Joe, you're trying to do that?
Listen.
Yeah, I see the way you lick your lips.
You said, no.
Hey, hold on.
Listen, listen, listen.
It only take one team.
Yeah, but that team you go to.
Hey, Joe, that's important now.
You're going from Boston.
Where you go from there?
But listen, listen.
Listen, you know the value this young man going to bring, bro.
Yeah, he outspoken.
But damn it, when he's,
he hit the flow, he's going to be competing playing at the high as low, bro.
Are you kidding about this?
Joe, oh, Joe, before you go, what did, what was reported came out of Milwaukee?
Why wouldn't they do a one-for-one deal with draft picks?
What did, what did Jimmy Haslam say?
We felt maybe in a year he would be unhappy and we'd be right back to square one.
Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
So are you sure, Joe?
That means, hey, but that's, that means, yeah, they, they weren't,
willing to give him no extension.
That also means people are leery.
Is he going to be happy?
Bro, you're all-star,
your all-N-B-A selection,
you're a finals MVP,
it seems to, what's enough?
Because if you listen to him talk,
he feels he doesn't get to credit that he deserves.
Even though being an all-N-BA,
being an all-star, being a finals MVP,
being an instant conference MVP,
he feels that's not enough.
He's like, well, I knew I was going to be first-team all-N-B-A.
I mean, I mean, you can only have five.
Hey, y'all got J.B. Ben, he's going for MVP of the league next year.
I don't know.
On whatever damn team he on watch, this boy,
for the go crazy out here, I'm telling you.
But let me ask you a question, no, Joe.
If he feels that they don't like him, how are he going to get voted MVP?
His play going to have to do that.
He knows that he's going to have out of this world damn numbers.
I'm talking about it on a night to night basis.
He's going to have to be in the 30s as far as points.
Yeah, he's going to have to be getting to it.
Ain't no question.
Ain't no question about he got to have undeniable numbers
to where when you see him, you're like, oh, yeah.
He ain't messing around.
He's going to have to, because Shay's going to have 30 plus and win 60 plus game.
Yogi's going to have a triple double and win 55 plus games.
Yeah.
Wimby's going to have outstanding numbers and win the high 50s, low 60 plus games.
Janice is going to have 30 and 10.
So Luca is going to put up 33, 34, 35 points.
Yeah.
So unless he plans on putting up 32, putting up 30 plus points
and his team win at least 55 games,
how are you going to win MVP, Joe?
And I don't have the problem, Joe.
Hey, listen, he going to do exactly what I'm talking about it.
It's going to be a fun season.
Yeah, yeah, he's going to put up Bobby.
He's going to try to put up 35.
But I don't know if that will be conducive to winning.
Yeah, I get, I get that.
I get that.
But what I'm saying is he has all these accolades now.
He's won an NBA title in finals MVP.
Like, I can see him coming into the season,
no matter what team he's on, bro,
trying to be the best player in the league.
But the problem is, Joe, the team he's going to go to is bad.
They may not be bad.
Wow.
It has to be a team to have the assets.
even get him.
Man, I've been seeing him with the Rockets.
I've been seeing them with the Spurs.
I've been seeing them.
I've seen them with...
Minnesota.
I'm saying the teams I've been seeing them win.
Because listen, if you're going to send a guy like that off,
yeah, you want something damn good in return.
So I don't think he's going to go to none of these Rudy Poo team, bro.
I'm telling you.
He had all of those.
He won't praise and adulation.
because guess what he had, Joe.
He had all-star games.
He had finals MVP.
He had Eastern Conference MVP.
And you still couldn't get on the Olympic roster.
Oh, man, you know what that was about.
Joe, you're making my point.
That's what he wants.
Listen.
We all know.
At the end of the day, Joe, don't you want to be desired?
Don't you want to hear your old lady and say,
baby, I love you, boy, I shall appreciate you come along with you, girl.
That's what he wants.
Yeah, yeah.
That's what he wants.
He wants, you tell me that, but you don't show me that.
You show Jason Tatum that you love him.
You show Jason Tatum that you want him.
You've never showed me just how much I mean to you,
like you've shown JT.
And that's what he wants.
Hey, J.B.
J.B.
is moving on his own time.
Okay, Ocho, you see his shoe deal, he got his own damn shoe.
That's why he got left off the damn USA team here.
It's all Nike.
Now, who are you with?
We don't even know who they is.
Yeah.
That's why he got left out.
So he wants to do his own thing, bro.
You know what I mean?
And I think these are some of the hoops that he's going to have to jump through.
You know what I mean?
But I think ultimately it's going to make him a better player, bro.
You know, he'll have a story to him.
He's a phenomenal player.
I mean, he could get better.
I mean, I don't know how.
I mean, he gave you 29, he gave you 29, 6, and 5.
I don't know.
What you want to give you.
I don't know if I look at it in any differently.
If he gives me 37 and 7, I ain't looking at him any different.
I know what he can do.
He's a two-way player.
He can play outstanding.
He might be a better all-around player than Jason Tatum.
When you consider everything, the defensive end and the offensive end.
I don't know, man.
Tatum got that 6-9 frame.
Okay, Ocho, 6-10.
He ain't going to lie to the board the board tall.
Yes.
But not only is he tall, see, the difference is
Tatum, he's such a great score.
He has a great feel for the game.
He's patient.
You know what I'm saying?
He made guys around them better.
J.B. going out getting 30.
He ain't trying to hear all that.
You know what I mean?
Like, he's going to get right to it.
Just keeping it 100.
You know what I mean?
J.B.
gonna get right to it yeah i'm gonna yeah i might find you over there in the corner if you
open you know i mean but for the most i'm gonna i'm gonna i'm getting me buckets yeah what
i mean i'm trying to think where you could send him and i'm thinking does orlando have the
pieces what if you put him and ban carroll together uh uh uh put jalen brown with bank carroll
they don't really move neither for me for alando because they guard play i like i like black
I know he was hurt, but.
They definitely need.
They guard play is awful.
I mean, Suggs,
Suggs is not,
he's a tremendous,
he's not enough of an offensive threat
to do anything because so down,
I'm coming quick to double him.
I'm coming quick to double bankero.
And Franz Wagner,
being out,
he's another big that can stretch the four,
he can put the ball on the floor,
he can shoot the three.
Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
I agree.
Orlando doesn't have a guard play
that really, that really,
like, oh, man,
or I think Orlando can do it this year.
If they had better guard play, I might be willing to give them the benefit of the doubt.
But I just can't with the guard plate that they have.
And then you got to think if you add J.B.
to any of these teams, oh, Joe, hell, who are you taking off?
You know, you're going to take off a key guy off one of these teams.
You know what I mean?
I don't know if, what's they call them, have the assets.
I don't know if, because they really got the two players that you really want, Wagner and Bankerro.
And I'm not so sure Orlando's willing to give up any of those guys.
They damn sure ain't giving up Bankero.
No
Hell no
Hell no
So I don't know
Man
I think it's getting worked out
As we speak though
I think we're gonna see
This J.B.
in a new uniform
Hopefully it's a Hawks uniform
Boy we get
We get him and Jalen Johnson
You can come on home
Ah
Hey
Hey
Ash who went in this poll man
They got it
Huh
Man you won
You then
Oh no come on now
Come on man
Don't do that
And Ocho, Ocho was in second place.
No, no, who won the poll?
If anything, on that poll, I know I'm third.
I can take that.
Listen, listen.
Y'all can play crazy all y'all want to.
But I tell y'all who ain't crazy.
Me and chat.
Me and chat ain't crazy.
Hell, we can see.
Oh, you must be me and chat, GPT.
Because this is a boojohn.
No, me and chat right here.
Me and the line.
What I said?
Yeah.
Ash, who won?
Man, that.
Ocho won.
Wait, what you mean I won?
I won what?
The freaking man alive.
The chat.
The chat got a,
they got a short memory, man.
Yeah.
Hey.
Chad ain't crazy, man.
I ain't went 40,
what's that, 48%?
Yeah, Ocho won at 48%.
I'm 41.
Now, Joe only got 11%.
Man, man, listen.
Oh, now here y'all go.
Now y'all pity the food.
Now y'all miss the tea.
Oh, I pitted.
Joe got, I mean, Joe got your food, but it's all.
Hey, Joe, like a politician, boy.
He got all the people, he got all the people.
Chad, y'all see how they try to jump on me,
Tika, because they, man, everybody knows all that.
That's what I'm trying to tell you.
I don't even know why y'all be acting how y'all ain't.
Joe, you'll make a great politician, boy, the way you lie, boy.
Hey, just be, if you just be cool with people,
we wouldn't even really be talking about it.
There's nobody tripping on you being the frigging dude out of the crew, man.
You know what it is.
It ain't what it is.
You got a fool.
I give you credit.
You done a great job of fooling the people, Joe.
Hey, you put it in a fast little people.
We know I'm big friends.

Here's something that should not be as complicated as it is, getting a racist statue removed.
And here's something that should be a whole lot easier than it is, getting a new one put up in its place.
I'm Akila Hughes, and Rebel Spirit Season 2 is about both of those things.
As I was watching these statues come down, I was thinking about what it meant that I grew up in a majority of Black City,
in which there were more homages to enslavers than there were to enslave people.
