Starting point is 00:03:02 On Tuesday, Ocho, we learned that Aaron Rodgers was not in attendance at Jarrett Mandatory Minicamp, which head coach Robert Sala labeled as unexcused. Today, we learned he'll be skipping the team's entire minicamp because he prefers to be somewhere else away from football. That's the reason that was reported by Diana Racine, who added that the quarterback's choice to not show up. It was the quarterback's choice not to show
Starting point is 00:03:32 up. Aaron, I thought we were going to focus on football this season. That's what he said. We're going to leave all that other stuff right. Hey, I want to focus on football. I want everybody to focus on football. Go ahead. Listen, that's what he said. That's what he said. And listen, this is what I'm talking
Starting point is 00:03:48 about. This is what I'm talking about. You wonder why, and we want to blame Zach Wilson for the goddamn problems and issues with the goddamn Jets. I'm not saying this has any inclination on why they haven't been successful in the previous years, but this is just a small example. I feel bad for
Starting point is 00:04:03 Garrett Wilson. I feel bad for Garrett Wilson. I feel bad for Garrett Wilson because you're starting quarterback, you're leader, and you need to skip mandatory minicamp for whatever reason there may be. It might be some type of... There ain't no reason. It might be some...
Starting point is 00:04:19 Ocho, unless there's death in the family, unless there's a loved one that you're, there's no excuse. This is what you do. Ocho, how do you get to say, you know what, this is what I do. And one of the most, because like I said, a lot of these guys need time. They need to work with it. He said, this is what Aaron Rodgers said, on what the Jets can learn from the 2023 season, that bleep that has nothing to do with winning
Starting point is 00:04:45 needs to get out the building. Now, I want y'all to tell me, all y'all just, all y'all sharing, you hating on Aaron Rodgers, blah, blah, blah. What is him not showing up? How does that help y'all win? And you know what? You know what?
Starting point is 00:04:58 I would think knowing him, knowing what he would counter with, he would say, you know what? Many camp doesn't justify anything that has to do with winning in the regular season. I'm just knowing him. But listen,
Starting point is 00:05:10 you can't do this, Aaron. You can't do this to your new team, to your new teammates. You can't do this to Salah. You can't do this to the Jets fans. You can't do this
Starting point is 00:05:20 to the city of New York. Like, if you're going to be in, be all the way in. We know what? We know there are certain people that can do this and get away with it, and certain people would never,
Starting point is 00:05:29 never abuse the power that they know they have at their hand. This is someone that knows what he can get away with and do it. He knows what he can get away with and he can do it.
Starting point is 00:05:40 Name another player in the NFL right now that can pull this shit. Excuse my language. Now y'all see why Green Bay took George Love. If you don't care for Ocho, my grandfather used to say, boy, if you're not careful, you'll become the very thing you despise the most in a person. What did Brett Favre do? That's why they selected Aaron Rodgers, because they got tired of Brett Favre doing this bull jive.
Starting point is 00:06:05 That's the very reason they selected George Love, because they got tired of Brett Favre doing this bull jive. That's the very reason they selected Jordan Love because they got fed up with his bull jive. And even as great as he was, he won, what, two MVPs in the last three years. And they say, you know what? We're going to select the quarterback.
Starting point is 00:06:16 The guy won an MVP and they took a quarterback. They tolerate you for a long time until they can replace you. I want fans, I want y'all to understand what I just said.
Starting point is 00:06:31 He won the MVP and they took a quarterback in the first round. Not the third, not the fourth, not the fifth, not the sixth. A first round.
Starting point is 00:06:40 That's literally, that is literally the epitome of being fed up. the epitome of being fed up. The epitome of being fed up. You know what? Okay, that's enough. Because if you don't get rid of them at a certain point, then that thorn in your side only gets bigger and bigger.
Starting point is 00:06:58 I want y'all to apologize. It gets bigger and bigger. I need y'all to apologize. Hold on, Ochoa. I want y'all to apologize. Because I tried to tell you. And you you know you want to say it's hate see oh I'm telling you I tried to tell him
Starting point is 00:07:12 I've been trying to tell y'all for decades you didn't want to listen to me you're getting mad at me because here's the thing Ocho anything I say oh Unc hate Aaron Rodgers no I just tell you behavior Unc was pretty good in the oh, Unc hate Aaron Rodgers. No. I just tell you behavior. Unc was pretty good in the locker room.
Starting point is 00:07:28 Unc can read a locker room. And I remember when I went to do an interview, and I talked to the receiver, and I ain't going to say no name, but I know what was told to old Shane. And when I went back and said it on TV, everybody tried to shut me down. Nah, bro. Nah, bro.
Starting point is 00:07:44 I told y'all he's always been about Aaron Rodgers. He ain't never been about the team. That's why they don't win. It's all about him. Y'all make it seem like, look at the talent that man had. Greg Jennings, Jordy Nelson,
Starting point is 00:07:58 Donald Drop, look at the receiver, James Jones, look at the running back. Oh, he had bull jabs. I want y'all to apologize. And y'all know I'm telling you the truth. Y'all know I'm telling you the truth.
Starting point is 00:08:10 I tell y'all, if I tell you grass will turn to cheese, quit your job. Start hustling crackers. It's better than Bitcoin. I wonder what his excuse is going to be when he does come back. I wonder what is the reasoning going to be? What do you sit there? What do you tell your teammates in general? As the leader of that team,
Starting point is 00:08:32 based on the direction you went in last year, based on the things you said last year about what needs to be out the door and what needs to be in, and then you pull something like this. He never bought in. He never bought in. He never bought in. He's selfish.
Starting point is 00:08:46 I don't know, man. He's a condescending, aloof. There are a lot of other things I could say. But y'all know I was right. I've just been telling y'all this for a long time. But y'all didn't want to hear me because see what you do. If somebody says something about somebody that you don't like, that you like, you get mad and y'all call him a hater.
Starting point is 00:09:04 And you say he's jealous. But I'm good with my career because all the seventh round draft pick could get out of his God-given ability was three Super Bowls, a gold jacket, and all the tight end records. That's all the seventh rounder could get out of his God-given ability. That's all God wanted me to have.
Starting point is 00:09:20 I ain't begrudging nobody. But I know that dude. I can read him. And I've been telling y'all that. And y'all know I see a lot of 100% going up on that thing. You right, Unc. You right. You said it.
Starting point is 00:09:32 You've been trying to tell them. But nah, y'all didn't want to hear because y'all like him. And I don't dislike him. I think he's a phenomenal player. I think he's a top five quarterback. As far as just ability to spin the football, there ain't three guys better that could ever spin
Starting point is 00:09:47 the football like you. But boy. Yeah. You know how I am, boy. I'll be taking it for all. I'll take it for every goddamn body, boy. And sometimes I even, I bend myself over
Starting point is 00:10:01 to find an excuse for him, but I can't even find no fucking excuse, man. This don't make no sense. And what bothers me is we talk about minicamp, and I'm thinking about the receivers. I'm thinking about the receivers. I'm thinking about Gary Wilson.
Starting point is 00:10:15 He's thinking about Aaron Rodgers. That's the problem. I got Gary Wilson, 1,512 TDs this season. I don't need Aaron Rodgers out here bulljiving on another retreat for darkness. I need't need Aaron Rodgers out here bull-jiving on another retreat, another retreat for darkness. I need you working with my receivers, man.
Starting point is 00:10:30 What is you doing? Garrett Wilson, boy. Lock in, baby. Lock in. It's all on you. Some bulls, that's some bullshit. That's some bullshit.
Starting point is 00:10:42 See, Ochoa, see, the thing is, I don't really do a whole lot of talking. I don't bullshit. That's some bullshit. See, Ochoa. See, the thing is, I don't really do a whole lot of talking. I don't brag about I got these connects. I don't got that. All I know, I'm like EF Hutton. When I talk, y'all better listen.
Starting point is 00:10:59 Damn, man. I ain't going to impugn nobody's name. I'm not going to say anything and I don't be talking about my sources. I just be talking matter of factly. I don't want to say my sources tell me because I don't want to know who said this because they know it.
Starting point is 00:11:16 They know it. But anyway, we're going to talk about it. We're going to move on. That's enough about him. The jazz fans are us. Jazz fans. I. Jazz fans, I'm rocking with y'all. I'm riding with y'all. We're going to be all right. We still got Garrett
Starting point is 00:11:31 Wilson. Who going to throw the ball? We got Tyrod Taylor. Mr. Fashion himself. Mr. Put That Shit On. He got like Tyrod. What are you talking about? We got Brees Hall. Brother Alan Lazard.
Starting point is 00:11:48 Alan Lazard is... Wait, Alan Lazard... Yeah, you still there? Yeah, we got Alan Lazard. What you talk about? A-Rod, you want to play? We'll turn that 12 to 21. You keep fucking around now. Shit. All right? Injuries are nothing new to Joe Burrow, but this perspective on him has changed. He's taken a share of lumps over the first four seasons. In his most are nothing new to Joe Burrow, but this perspective on him has changed.
Starting point is 00:12:05 He's taken a share of lumps over the first four seasons. In his most recent season, torn ligament in his right wrist, ended his 2023 campaign prematurely. Burrow spoke about the rehab process and the mental toll it comes with. Whenever the injuries start to stack up, your football mortality comes back into your mind. So that's definitely something that I've thought about and something that I have
Starting point is 00:12:26 to fight through. I don't care how strong he is. Because it's the fact, Ocho, is that they started to come with such great regularity. You know, he tore his ACL. He like, oh, he come back, go to the Super Bowl.
Starting point is 00:12:42 They just like, damn, here come another. And it's not an injury that keep him down for a week or two. They call to him a season. And he's like, well, dang, I can't care. Look at Brady. Brady missed one season in 23. Peyton missed one season in 23. Here I am.
Starting point is 00:13:02 Those are the breaks. Those are the things that you have to overcome some people like yourself you say I didn't get injured my whole career my pinky finger my pinky finger still messed up that's it
Starting point is 00:13:12 all you had to do is all you had to do is tape it together with your wrist and that's exactly what I did I always had these two taped together I think most of the time
Starting point is 00:13:22 when I think about it I think about the game of football and how I hate about the game of football and how I hate using the word deadly. What's the word I can think of, man? The injuries.
Starting point is 00:13:37 One play could be your last. I think about how fortunate. You think about your football more than that. Because you know, Ocho, you know it's going to end one day. You just don't want it to end prematurely. Right, right, right, right.
Starting point is 00:13:51 And I think I just got lucky and I always play around, you know, using my diet and what I ate as a reason why I was able to sustain such health throughout my career, the entirety of my career. But again, I'm one of those that believes,
Starting point is 00:14:03 know what works for your body. Know what works for your body, know what works for your body and, and, and, and do what works for you and really don't buy into all the, all the new stuff that they, that people talk about and all this new stuff that they, that they bring you bring to the table that hasn't been tested or hasn't been done before. And I think people will be fine. Joe and I, we, we make jokes. I was just at, uh, in Cincinnati a week ago, a week or two ago. And Joe, fine. Joe and I, we make jokes. I was just in Cincinnati a week or two ago, and Joe Burrow and I have been going back and forth for four years, four years. And before I come to ask a question, he'll say, Ocho, no, I'm not eating McDonald's. It's not happening. And so Joe and I had this running joke. Before I could even say anything, the first thing he says is,
Starting point is 00:14:42 I'm not doing it. I would never do it. But thank you for the suggestion. And, you know, it is funny. And I wish Joe nothing but success, man. His nutrition is phenomenal. The people he has working with him, the people he has had the team that work with him outside the facility, the people that he works with in the facility. outside the facility, the people that he works with in the facility, as far as obviously our strength coaches, our conditioning coaches, our staff.
Starting point is 00:15:10 Yeah, he has the best of the best. So he's going to be fine this year. He's going to be upright this year. And I guarantee you, I guarantee you, I'm going to ask you this one time, Chad, I want you to listen to me and stay with me now. And don't say, oh, Ocho said it before the season even started. And don't say, oh, Ocho said it before the season even started. Remember where Jamar Chase, remember where Jamar Chase and Joe Burrow played college football. And I want you to remember where the Super Bowl is this year.
Starting point is 00:15:42 And I want you to remember the storyline that it will be for the Super Bowl in New Orleans. The Super Bowl is all about stories. And there will never, ever, ever be another story that is better than one to have two LSU players winning the Super Bowl 45 minutes to an hour outside where they play collegiate football at. Anthony Richardson thinks
Starting point is 00:16:02 playing in the NFL is easier than college Anthony Richardson joined Jeff Teague 520 podcast where he said see playing in the NFL I feel like it's easier than college for real for real cause in college you got players that's like they good they don't know they're good but they're not as confident
Starting point is 00:16:19 you know what I'm saying they got to rely on other players to do this for them or do that but in the league everybody's trying to work them or do that, but in the league, everybody's trying to work to stay in the league, trying to keep their job. Everybody's trying to ball out. That just lets, you know, man, that I ain't got to do too much. I just have to do my job, and I'm going to do
Starting point is 00:16:35 his job, and it's going to work. I'm confused. That's what Ant talk about, man. Ant, stop, man. Stop playing, Ant, man. You know, Ant, I love you, baby, but come on now. Stop playing now.. You know, and I love you, baby, but come on now. Stop. Stop playing now. Ocho. Ocho. How many,
Starting point is 00:16:49 how many Anthony Richardson teammates at Florida? You think in the NFL? Um, 15, 20. Hey, it got, it got,
Starting point is 00:16:57 it got to be a little more than that. Huh? Okay. Let's just, let's just say for the sake of argument, he had 20 teams that got drafted. That's in the NFL. How many of his Indianapolis Colts are in the sake of argument, he had 20 teammates that got drafted. That's in the NFL and free agency.
Starting point is 00:17:08 How many of his Indianapolis Colts are in the NFL? All of them. All of them. It's like, how many people, oh Joe, it's not a trick question. How many people are dead in the cemetery? How many dead people in the cemetery? All of them. Oh, how you gonna say everybody in the cemetery? All of them. Oh, yes.
Starting point is 00:17:28 So how you going to say everybody in the NFL is confident? Yeah. Won't go and ain't confident. Let me look. There's different levels. You got high school. You got college. And then you got those boy dogs that's in the NFL. They even have the audacity to say that college was more difficult
Starting point is 00:17:45 than NFL? I mean, come on, man. Maybe he hasn't played against the right team yet. Maybe he hasn't had to face that Jets defense.
Starting point is 00:17:56 Maybe he hasn't had to face that Brown defense. Maybe he hasn't had to face that Raiders defense. Because he took that hit. Anybody hit him so hard that he separated his shoulder? He broke his collarbone in college. Anybody hit him so hard that he separated his shoulder
Starting point is 00:18:05 he broke his collarbone in college anybody hit him that hard because that's what happened in the NFL you know what oh they did land on him huh
Starting point is 00:18:11 okay okay okay yeah but he tripping though man as a quarterback you can't say nothing like that don't get nobody
Starting point is 00:18:20 no bulletin board material man don't do that you know they're coming because guess what every guy go hit it they're going to say hey was college like this but do that. You know they're coming. Because guess what? Every guy go here, they're going to say, hey, was college like this? But who you telling?
Starting point is 00:18:28 You know they're going to use that. You know they're going to use that. As a matter of fact, you know what makes it even worse? It's ESPN can't wait to use that. As soon as you have a bad game. They can't wait to use it, man. You can't set yourself up like that.
Starting point is 00:18:42 You can't do that. But I'm like, bro. And listen, he is a phenomenal talent. He is a phenomenal talent. I'm not taking nothing away from him. But don't do that. Don't set yourself up for that. Because a lot of times in college, Ocho,
Starting point is 00:18:57 you can just get away with athleticism in college because one week you blackboard him, next week you play Georgia, and then you're going to play some Division II team. Then you're going to probably grab an HBCU. Bro. Everybody you play at it. I have a question.
Starting point is 00:19:13 When he was at Florida, did they beat Georgia when he was at Florida? Since college is so easy? I mean, but since college is more difficult. Did he beat Georgia or no? I'm just curious. No. Okay. No. Okay.
Starting point is 00:19:25 No. Okay. Okay. Man. So, I mean, by his take. Everybody. Everybody. Everybody.
Starting point is 00:19:35 Based on his take, if he feels that college is a little bit more difficult than NFL, that means collegiate teams can beat NFL teams in. Man. you know, they be saying, oh, bruh.
Starting point is 00:19:49 I remember how you used to say it. Whoever you think the worst NFL team, if they play the college team, they'll beat them 40 to 50. Remember how they used to say Alabama, Alabama, the good Alabama teams will beat the NFL team? Man, listen. You get somebody hurt.
Starting point is 00:20:08 You get somebody hurt, man. Man, them grown-ass men. Man. You playing for books and tuition. They playing for mortgages. They playing for bills and college tuitions.
Starting point is 00:20:23 They playing to keep mama in the house. It's different. It's different. Ocho, there's a reason why they don't let 18-year-olds try to play in the NFL. 19-year-olds. There's a reason
Starting point is 00:20:38 why. You'll never make it. The physicality. You'll never make it. Wake up with football every morning and listen to my new podcast NFL Daily with Greg Rosenthal. Five days a week you'll get all the latest news, previews, recaps and analysis delivered straight to

Starting point is 00:23:17 Ocho, Russell Wilson said he's excited for the upcoming season and had this to say. Let's take a listen to the sound. I feel the fountain of youth, man. I just, I feel, you know, I feel revived in every way, mentally, emotionally, spiritually. I feel confident. I think at some point you got to know who you are. As a player, as a man, as a competitor, as somebody who's been fortunate to be able to play in this game. And I don't doubt it, I just trust it.
Starting point is 00:23:41 I felt really good last year playing. I felt really confident last year playing. I felt really confident in the midst of everything. And so I think right now I have all that confidence times 10. So I just use it all, just use it all, you just trust it. You take one day at a time and you just put in the work. I just think that that's the part that I love. There's nothing like doing the work.
Starting point is 00:24:02 There's no substitute. There's no substitute for the hard work. And that's the part that I love. There's nothing like doing the work. There's no substitute. There's no substitute for the hard work. And that's the part that I love. I like it. I like it. I like it. Mentally, as a competitor, spiritually, where I am, the confidence that I had, even playing last year, amidst all the bullshit that was going on around me,
Starting point is 00:24:24 including my head coach on the sideline yapping all in my ear trying to get a reaction out of me, I still feel confident in what I can do and what I can provide as not just the player, but as a leader of the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Starting point is 00:24:40 I feel confident. I feel good still to this day. I like the message. I like the message. Now all to this day I like the message I like the message now all I need I need the message and the transition and the translation of the message
Starting point is 00:24:52 to be the same on the field in between the lines yeah that's all I need I need to talk I need to talk I need to talk
Starting point is 00:25:04 to match the wall that's it. I need to talk. To match the wall. That's it. And I'm good. I'm good. Russell Wilson all day. Pittsburgh Steelers. And this is coming from a bangle at heart. True.
Starting point is 00:25:17 Loving to death. But Russell Wilson fan all day. Come hell or high water. As long as you don't say Steelers, let's ride. Y'all going to be water. As long as you don't say Steelers, let's ride. Y'all going to be good. Russ going to be good, man. Russ for the cook, man. Get that ball.
Starting point is 00:25:34 Get that ball to George. Get that ball to George. Hand that thing off to Najee. Boy, you're going to be all right. That goddamn defense is going to carry you. That's your identity right now. And you're going to be fine. You're going to be fine until you play the to be fine until you play the Bengals.
Starting point is 00:25:46 Huh? Until you play the Bengals. I mean, that division is tough. Very tough. I mean, when you look at it, I mean, you can make a case that he might be the fourth quarterback in that division because you got Lamar Joy and Deshaun.
Starting point is 00:26:02 You know what's funny? The teams go. It's just the NFL. You break all the divisions down. AFC East, AFC West, NFC East, NFC West, North, South, whatever you may be. And you can take the divisions, right? And just break them down by quarterbacks and based on the quarterbacks that you
Starting point is 00:26:18 have in the division, you can kind of tell how the season is going to go. Based on who you have at the helm, controlling your destiny. Honestly. And so when it comes to kind of tell how the season is going to go based on who you have at the helm controlling your destiny right honestly and so when it comes to when it comes to the afc north i look at it from a standpoint is okay how many how many of us out of the four are going to for one stay upright throughout the season to stay healthy throughout the season and be able to overcome their mistakes because mistakes are going to be made.
Starting point is 00:26:49 Can you minimize those mistakes and overcome them? How well is your defense going to be playing? Obviously, Steelers, you know what their identity is. You know what the Browns' identity was last year. Hell, if Deshaun Watson shows any sign of how he was when he was with the goddamn Houston Texans, well, goddamn, that's scary in itself. Depending on what Deshaun, we, goddamn, that's scary in itself. Depending on what the Sean, we goddamn get. That's scary in itself.
Starting point is 00:27:08 So that changes the dynamic of the AFC North right away, especially if the motherfucking Browns hit the ball rolling and get any type of rhythm and chemistry. You know, it's easy to play defense. You just read and react. Just read and react at the beginning of the season. You know, week three, week four, week five, you start hitting your stride
Starting point is 00:27:27 as an offense. You're gelling together. The chemistry's getting a little better. You got a little rhythm under your belt. You and your offensive coordinator, he got a better feel for what he can do. Shh, man. I like it. Oh, Joe.
Starting point is 00:27:43 It looks like you in LA today Doing some Madden stuff Give us a sneak preview Yeah Of what to expect I saw a picture of you Standing on your tippy toes Oh yeah
Starting point is 00:27:50 I also saw you I also saw you flying private Hey Hey Listen Listen Listen Listen
Starting point is 00:27:55 I can't tell y'all much But you know I'm the ratings I'm the Madden ratings adjuster And have been for the past Three years And you know Christian McCaffrey is
Starting point is 00:28:04 The Madden cover boy, Madden cover player. Well, he about to be a 99 then. Yeah, hey, he's going to be a 99 when he puts in the work on the field. And I give him that 99. So I'm not sure where he's rated right now. What you mean put the work on the field?
Starting point is 00:28:19 The man was offensive player of the year. He had the most scrimmage yards. Huh? He was offensive player of the year. What year was that scrimmage yards. He was offensive player of the year. What year was that? Last year. Okay, this is a new year. But that's what you're basing on.
Starting point is 00:28:31 You give him a grade on this upcoming season, right? No, no, no, everything starts over. What you did last year don't help me. Yeah, what you did last year don't help me. I need you to repeat that or either pick up where you left off and I'll make the proper adjustments in your rating as time goes.
Starting point is 00:28:46 That's the way we work over here. I could have swore I saw some guys get 99 during the season. Oh, yeah, they will. They probably will. I mean, who? Tyreek? Tyreek, Justin Jefferson, Devontae Adams. Just throwing a few out there.
Starting point is 00:28:57 But no, man, it was cool. It was cool to see C-Mac, man. Good dude. He's very, very quiet. Very, very ill. Yeah, yeah, yeah. He's not a talker.. And he's very, very quiet. Very, very ill. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:29:06 He's not talking. No, he's not a talker. He liked that for a bit. Yeah. For real. Now the other one. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:29:12 His dad. Okay. Yeah. He's real quiet. Lisa. His mom is the talker. Lisa is the talker. Okay.
Starting point is 00:29:17 But the boys, the boys are quiet. Yeah. Yeah. That was just like, that's how it was. It just in his locket. Laugh. Yeah. Minus business.
Starting point is 00:29:26 I saw him coming from real far and I screamed out real loud, yo, C-Mac, let me get an effing picture. And everybody looking around like, what the... And as soon as I walked in, they're like, hey, Ocho,
Starting point is 00:29:40 hey, Ocho, how you doing? How you doing? It's nice to meet you. I'm like, wait a minute. Where's the energy? Where the, you know, the C-Mac nice to meet you I'm like wait a minute where's the where the energy where the you know the C-Mac I see you know
Starting point is 00:29:47 off tackle you know getting up in the hole I'm like what a completely different than what I would what I expect you know from
Starting point is 00:29:57 obviously the best running back in the game but it was cool it was great meeting him yeah yeah he uh he quiet
Starting point is 00:30:04 I mean that's I mean I don't really get a whole lot. Like, what's up, Huck? How you doing? You know, but that's about it. Yeah, that's about it. Yeah, yeah. That was dope. That was dope.
Starting point is 00:30:13 That was dope meeting him. Ocho, grab your ketchup, mustard, because the mother of all hot dog eating contests are here. Joey Chestnut will not be allowed to compete in the 2024 Nathan's Hot Dog Eating Contest but Takuru Kobayashi is still going head to head Charles Chestnut
Starting point is 00:30:31 Kobayashi Unfinished Beef will air live on Netflix on Labor Day Joey Chestnut Takuru Kobayashi last met in the Hot Dog Eating Contest in 2009 this announcement come one day after Major League Eating
Starting point is 00:30:46 barred Chestnut from competing in this year's Nathan Eating Contest due to his new partnership with a plant-based meat brand. Chestnut said he can't wait to go another round with Kobayashi, the toughest opponent in competitive eating. Okay, okay, okay. I think his record is like 70, 71 dollars. Is it?
Starting point is 00:31:07 72 dollars. What you mean that? Wait, hold on. 72 glizzies and how long? And in what time span? 12 minutes. Oh! Hot dogs and buns.
Starting point is 00:31:18 Man, listen, I've been eating buns since 87. Man, that ain't nothing. Bro, you ain't going to eat them. Yeah, I bet you do be eating buns. Yeah, we know you eat buns. Yeah, yeah, yeah. buns, man, since 87. Man, that ain't nothing. Bro, you ain't going to eat them. Yeah, I bet you do be eating buns. Yeah, we know you eat buns. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, yeah, exactly. And they ain't got no ketchup or mustard on them either.
Starting point is 00:31:32 It depends if I put it there or not. Don't do that. Yeah, definitely. Hey, 12-minute span. So think about this. Let's say they added a trifecta and we made it a trifecta and they added me to the contest. 12-minute span. So think about this. Let's say they added a trifecta and we made it a trifecta and they added me to the contest. 12 minute span.
Starting point is 00:31:48 If he can get through 72 hot dogs in 12 minutes, how many do you think I get through? Five or six. Oh, come on. Man, you don't know me, man. You don't know me, man. I'm out of the city, man. I'm from Dade County, man. You think I'm only five or six hot dogs in a 12 minute span? Boy, there's something wrong with you, man. Don't know me, man. You don't know me, man. I'm out the city, man. I'm from Dade County, man. You think I'm only five or six hot dogs
Starting point is 00:32:06 and a 12-bent Spamboy? There's something wrong with you, man. Don't do me like that. Don't do me like that. Huh? I don't know, Joe. Don't do me like that. Hey, there's one thing.
Starting point is 00:32:17 Some buns? I know. Hey, with that little water? Soak down. No, the buns you be you know you don't put no water on them oh it depends
Starting point is 00:32:27 it depends on where you at she come up straight up off the exercise bike you back me oh that's fine that's fine there's a reason why they used to call me
Starting point is 00:32:36 seat in high school I know they call you seat they used to call me seat yeah yeah they I say hey he didn't tell you about the other job he had.
Starting point is 00:32:45 Which one? He used to link stamps at the post office. Oh, yeah. I mean, that's good money, there. It's good practice.
Starting point is 00:32:52 Yeah. People need to understand, practice makes perfect. So you start in all type of other places. They talk about, hey, me and you,
Starting point is 00:33:02 Ocho, man, look here, I ain't in a hot dog man And in 20 years 22 Hell no longer than that Every sporting event I go to
Starting point is 00:33:15 If you ever notice I always get two glizzies Every time Ocho me and you have a hot dog eating contest The first of three dogs win I'm going to just stuff the first three in my mouth right away I don't know Ocho I think I might get you man you too
Starting point is 00:33:33 you're a pretty boy man you don't eat like that man like I'm like I'm a savage real like I'm whatever but you can't I ain't in a hot dogs for long, man. I might, man, I might, I might, I might. Yeah, don't do that.
Starting point is 00:33:48 You're not even built like that. You ain't even built like that. I ain't in the hot dog for 25 years. I'm built from a different cloth, man. You don't want, don't you? Can we get, what about we do hamburgers? No, who? Nah, hot dogs, man.
Starting point is 00:34:03 All right, man, I'm a glizzy gobbler glizzy gobbler Ocho what you talking about man uh oh man Ocho check this out a second grade teacher who was addressed arrested for being drunk in class
Starting point is 00:34:22 is no longer facing charges because it's not illegal to teach drunk wendy munson was arrested after teaching her new stroke elementary school in california while drunk munson failed a sobriety test and was twice the legal limit two hours after she was initially arrested the district attorney said while the DA's office agrees that it's highly inappropriate to teach while intoxicated, it is unfortunately not illegal. We couldn't prove that her intoxication would have endangered the kids. Munson is not listed on the teachers as a teacher at the school's website, indicating she was fired. But my goodness, I mean, there are many things that you shouldn't do, intoxicated.
Starting point is 00:35:06 Many people do do them because they've been doing it so long. And the funny thing about it is they do it inebriated and been doing it so well for so long. While they have alcohol consumed in their system, they think they have to do it in order to be good at whatever it is. She's functioning. She's functioning. A functioning alcoholic. She's a functioning alcoholic. Pilots.
Starting point is 00:35:27 Driving. People just in general. Did you hear what she's, did you hear what they're saying? She was twice delivered. Two hours after she was arrested. So. So at the time of her arrest, can you imagine what she was? Well, yeah.
Starting point is 00:35:40 Imagine if you were drinking. And this is also a testament on what do you have to do to deal with today's kids? I mean, how much drinking did you have to deal with or how much drinking did you have to do to be able to deal with the kids in this class? Were they that damn bad? Man, them kids bad. Kids bad today, Ocho. They not that bad when you got to get drunk. Well, here's the thing. And I think the thing is, Ocho, teachers have gotten younger. You know, when I was in class,
Starting point is 00:36:06 man, the teacher was like 45. Now these teachers, they teach in class, they're 23. They're fresh out of college. Yeah. I mean, not only... I mean, I'm glad because you ain't look at none of them teachers like, oh, she's fine. You ain't look at none of them teachers like that.
Starting point is 00:36:21 You're like, oh, hell yeah. And they had grown all the teachers my teachers had grown kids so what it's funny they had a teacher I teach my teacher like
Starting point is 00:36:33 I mean I had one I think I had one teacher Miss Kickliner my second grade teacher she was she was as a matter of fact she ended up getting married
Starting point is 00:36:41 like maybe the year she taught us or the year after but most of them mojo they were they were old yeah i mean because they like my kindergarten teacher her grandkids were in my class so i mean what was the episode of martin uh with the teacher that came to the house trying to hit on him remember Remember her name? It's um... It was the model. It was the model. I forgot the lady's name, man. It was so funny. And Gina, and Gina
Starting point is 00:37:09 Corder. You remember her name? I don't. I don't remember that episode. Beverly Johnson. Oh, Beverly Johnson? Yeah, but she played the character. I can't remember the character's name. It was, I don't know why this reminds me of that. Oh, man.
Starting point is 00:37:26 Yeah, man. I was like... Yeah, them was the days, Ocho. But them teachers need to stop that mess with them kids at school. Miss Trinidad. That was the name. Miss Trinidad. That was the name. Oh, yeah. Hey, listen. Have you
Starting point is 00:37:43 seen how many times how many reports there have been for women that are married that are having Florida y'all notorious for that that are having sexual relations
Starting point is 00:37:52 with these kids yeah in high school in junior high I wouldn't have told her so what the hell is going on I wouldn't have told her so as
Starting point is 00:37:59 as I mean but but like I don't I don't I don't I don't I don't understand Guys, I mean, but, like... Ocho and I, we know it's right. I don't understand.
Starting point is 00:38:09 I don't understand. You know, you got young kids, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17. You know, they're not going to keep their mouth closed. It don't matter how many times you sit there. Yeah, it's hard, Ocho. Like, can you believe it? Like, that's a grown woman. That ain't somebody in my class.
Starting point is 00:38:23 That's not somebody my age. That's a grown woman. Which is why they keep getting somebody in my class that's not somebody that's a grown woman which is why they keep getting in trouble because they're going to go back and they're going to run back and tell every single time no matter what they say to you
Starting point is 00:38:30 in private in those solo conversations every time they're going to say something not O'Shea not O'Shea you ain't going to say no mm-mm
Starting point is 00:38:39 yes you will right now with who you are now of course you wouldn't but at that age when you aren of course you wouldn't. But at that age, when you aren't mentally, you aren't as mentally savvy as you are now,
Starting point is 00:38:50 you're going to slip up. Ocho, here's the thing. You messing with a girl, the minute you tell somebody what they do, they try to go back to it. Oh. That's why you got to keep it shut.
Starting point is 00:39:03 That's why I tell her, hey man, what she like? I'm like, shop man, that's a terrible gotta keep it shut that's why I tell her what she like? sharp man that face terrible you would never keep me in my crime oh dude man she was terrible I mean she don't know what she do all off rhythm
Starting point is 00:39:17 nah man don't even waste your time kill it see he ain't never put me oh but they already know kill it. See, he ain't never put me, oh, but they already know. Don't ever put me in no situation like that.
Starting point is 00:39:29 I ain't telling nothing. Yeah. And see, the thing was, Ocho, see, we ain't have no phone. Right.
Starting point is 00:39:36 So, it ain't like somebody could go through your phones or something like that and get that information. Hey, I had a good old, and see, back when I was
Starting point is 00:39:45 growing up, Ochoa, all you had to do... See, like, now you got to do, like, dial the whole number. See, all you had to do was, like, our number was 654... What was our number? 654-2077.
Starting point is 00:39:58 All you had to do was hit 4-2077. Dial right on through. That's it? See, you ain't had to do all that stuff. You ain't had to put no area code, the three digits, then the four digits. You ain't had to do all that. Mmm.
Starting point is 00:40:14 Yeah. See, we's on the same line, Ocho. Like, if you like, you live down the street, let's just say you live two miles from me. I can pick up the phone if you was on the phone. I can hear your conversation. Well, God. I can literally pick up the phone and say was on the phone. I can hear your conversation. Well, God. I can literally pick up the phone and say,
Starting point is 00:40:26 Ocho, get off the phone, man. Damn, we want to use the phone too. Okay, okay. I see what you mean. Because people are on the same line before they got individual lines. So, yeah. So, somebody could be on the phone
Starting point is 00:40:38 and it'd be like, bro, hey, yes, get off the phone. So, I mean, everybody got to be in unison when somebody want to use the phone. Yes, yes, yes. You. Get off the phone. So, I mean, everybody got to be in unison when somebody want to use the phone. Yes. Yes.
Starting point is 00:40:47 Yes. You had to wait like, you're like, Mr. Such and Such, how long you going to be on the phone? I'm just going to be a couple more minutes, boys. Okay.
Starting point is 00:40:54 Thank you, ma'am. That's crazy. Yeah, it's crazy how time used to be and it's crazy how far we've come. What? And how far we got to go.
Starting point is 00:41:06 Man. Things are a lot different, Ocho. Check this out, Ocho. Now it's time for our favorite segment, Q&A. Q&A. Tammy Wiggins said, shout out from H-Town, my birthday was yesterday. Shout out.
Starting point is 00:41:27 I'm a vet teacher of 31 years. If you were a teacher, what subject, not P.E.? History. If I was... History. Oh, English. Oh, my goodness.
Starting point is 00:41:46 I'd be an English teacher, of course. Man, this man done butchered the English language. Actually, I'm not the one that butchered the English language. It's the people that we put in positions of power that butchered the English language. I need to redo it the right way. That's the problem. Oh, my verse.
Starting point is 00:42:04 Man, them kids go home. Well, we already know you ain't going to be no I need to redo it the right way. That's the problem. Oh, my words. Man, them kids go home. Well, we already know you ain't going to be no spelling teacher. Why not? Why not? I get 98% of my words right. That's what you go away with? Oh, yeah, 98%. That's a good percentage. Okay.
Starting point is 00:42:22 Raquel Riggs said, brought my merch. You both are magical my favorite show raquel thank you so much we really appreciate that we appreciate the support man the love and support tickets are flying uh atlanta show hey houston y'all need to pick this thing up a little bit y'all pick it up because atlanta and the dallas y'all doing y'all thing. He's definitely contributed to the Celtics squad. C. Dove, thank you, man. I appreciate that. Yeah, thanks to ESPN. They took care of your boy.
Starting point is 00:43:12 You know. Hey, congratulations on that. Congratulations on that. Yeah, you know. I remember months ago, you told me, but damn, can I get my foot in the door? I just got my foot in the
Starting point is 00:43:26 door. Well, shit, now you done closed the door behind you and left me outside. So I'm knocking on the door. Hold on. Hold on. You hear that knock? Can you hear me knocking? Well, shit, let me in. I got a soundproof room. Nah, but congratulations, man. Well
Starting point is 00:43:43 deserved. Well deserved. I appreciate that, man. Well-deserved. Well-deserved. I appreciate that, man. I appreciate that, man. I expect. I'm not adding no pressure, but I'm expecting to be on with y'all during football season. I just need one or two days.

Starting point is 00:44:19 six-month span, that'd be beautiful work. That'd be beautiful work. No, we're going to add another day. We're about to add another day of nightcap. That's fine. We can do that too. We can add another day of nightcap inside NFL. I can work at first take at ESPN and boom, boom.
Starting point is 00:44:36 We there. We there. Work me like a dog. So, yep. Thank you, ESPN. Thank you, my boy, Stephen A. So, yep. Thank you, ESPN. Thanks,
Starting point is 00:44:47 my boy, Stephen A. Good looking out. Thank you ahead of time. Thank you ahead of time. Yeah, my kids, uh,
Starting point is 00:44:58 huh? Man, what y'all want me to get a washcloth uh Sheldon Pope said it's true holiday playoffs showing why the world team should choose him over Kyrie well it all depends on what you're looking for
Starting point is 00:45:21 um we got a lot of scores uh it's gonna be interesting to see. Is Kawhi going to be healthy enough to play? Because remember, Kawhi didn't play in the playoffs. He played, what, one game and ended up missing the rest of the game. Is he going to be healthy? You probably need some defenders. You got guys that can score.
Starting point is 00:45:39 Steph can score. LeBron can score. KD can score. So you got scores. You got, uh, uh, a D who's a defender.
Starting point is 00:45:48 You got Joel and bead who's a defender. It can also score. Um, you know, you can never have too many wing defenders. So, I mean, I,
Starting point is 00:45:58 I, I would like to see Kyrie go, but I, but as Rick was saying, like the mesh of the team is really, really important. Uh, so we'll see. as Rick was saying, like, the mesh of the team is really, really important. So, we'll see.

Starting point is 00:49:29 What happened? He was talking about some... He was talking about when he and Larry came in, he said, we weren't the best players, but we were the most popular players. He says he sees a lot of that going on
Starting point is 00:49:47 with Kaitlyn Clark and Angel Reese because I said they're the bird in magic. And there was some resentment. He used the term upset. I used the term. He said a lot of what I said. He used the term upset. I said mad.
Starting point is 00:50:06 I said, Caitlyn Clark is the most popular player, but she's not the best player. He said, she's the most popular player, but not the best player. He said, teammates, when they knock her down,
Starting point is 00:50:19 now she can't fight all the battles. Y'all need to go help her. He said a lot of what I said. But, but it was, he wasn't yelling and screaming so i said the tone so even though he said he was like jimmy fallon he was explaining oh because i was loud but i said now you're dealing with semantics because although i said he we said basically the same thing because he said it in a nicer tone in a car fashion but you know like my grandma used to say sometimes
Starting point is 00:50:51 five different people can say the same exact message but it's perceived differently depending on who's the one saying it so it's the right message just the wrong messenger that's all that is.
Starting point is 00:51:07 And most of the time that comes from a place of personal disgust for an individual. You know? Yeah. Oh, yeah. Well, if you don't like the messenger,
Starting point is 00:51:17 you definitely ain't gonna receive the message. And that's part of the problem right there. Right. Jaylen said, Hey, Uncle Nocho got some bad news that my mom's cancer came back today. She's a really big fan
Starting point is 00:51:28 of the show and she loved watching you both. One of you can give her a shout out. Her name is Miranda. Shout out, Mr. Miranda. Miranda. Oh, man, bro.
Starting point is 00:51:38 Jaylen, I'm so sorry to hear this. I mean, everybody here at Nightcap, bro. Cancer, F-cancer. It's such a deadly, awful disease. Miranda, we're praying for you.
Starting point is 00:51:50 Hang in there. You beat it once, you can beat it again. I believe that. You believe that. Have the faith and keep us posted, Jalen. Thank you for your posted, Jalen. Thank you for your support,
Starting point is 00:52:07 Jalen. Thank you for watching. Miranda, thank you for watching. But Ocho and I, we're going to be praying for you, everybody here at Nightcap, the Nightcap family that's in this chat. Y'all, please say a prayer when you go to bed tonight. Say a prayer for Jalen's mom, Miranda. She's battling cancer. She beat it before. She'll beat it again.
Starting point is 00:52:27 Lainey Ray. Hey, guys. Love the women who was on lately. We ladies especially appreciate it. My question is, what do you think the best movie series or movie with at least one sequel? Godfather. Movie or sitcom. Die Hard.
Starting point is 00:52:51 Let me see. Do you like... What's that movie? James Cameron? With all the graphics. Avatar. Avatar. Okay, that's a good one.
Starting point is 00:53:14 There's a good sequel. A lot of movies strike out on sequels, too. You know that? It is, yeah. That's why I like Godfathers. I think Godfathers might be the best. I mean, one thing that really hurt my heart, like, just honestly,
Starting point is 00:53:32 I think some people might feel different, but the first coming to America, it was so good. It was so good. Like, so good. I felt and I thought the fact that, well, if they're doing it this far along with technology being as advanced as it is, I was expecting something similar to or better than what we got the first time.
Starting point is 00:53:58 No. It wasn't even. Something. That was something you just, you can't recreate, man. Bad Boys. Oh. Friday. Oh, yeah, can't recreate, man. Bad Boys. Oh. Friday. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:54:07 Yeah. Now, those stayed up to the expectations on what we expected. What about Fast and the Furious? Yeah, listen, Fast and the Furious has been going on for, what, 30 years now? Yeah. They done been the space. what? 30 years now? Yeah. They didn't been to space. They didn't been to space and back. 25.
Starting point is 00:54:29 Yeah, they didn't been to space and back. Batman. What about the Batman? You know what? My favorite Batman, obviously, when Heath Ledger When Heath Ledger
Starting point is 00:54:40 Heath Ledger played the Joker. One of the best. I like the first one. And when Joaquin Joaquin Phoenix played Joker. One of the best. I liked the first one. And when Joaquin Phoenix played Joker, that was nice. The first one with Jack Nicholson. You liked that one?
Starting point is 00:54:55 Yeah, man. Oh, he was unbelievable. Yeah, he's good. He's good. Hey, baby. Hey, Rail. Rail in the chat? Rail say, Real say. Real just, she just take me to the... Where Real at?
Starting point is 00:55:08 Where she at? I'm watching. Say she watching. Remember, I'm in Vegas. Oh, she at home. Yeah, she home. She home. In that thunderstorm.
Starting point is 00:55:18 It's something going bad. It's flooding real bad in Miami. Everywhere. They had to put out a, what you call it, a warning thing? Where you can't drive, they tell you you can't leave home?
Starting point is 00:55:29 Like, it's that bad. Wow. Adrian Adler, you have many successful jobs and businesses. What advice, tips, do you have on structuring the right team around you?
Starting point is 00:55:44 Uh... on structuring the right team around you. Bro, a lot of times, the team that you start with is not the one you're going to finish with. And as the owner, the CEO, whatever title you give yourself, you can't be afraid for change. You can't be afraid to make tough decisions. You can't be afraid for change. You can't be afraid to make tough decisions. You can't.
Starting point is 00:56:10 And at the end of the day, that's what it comes down to. You try to put the best, you try to hire the best people, you put the best people in place, you don't care what color they are, you don't care about anything like that. Can he or she do the job? How passionate he or she are about said job?
Starting point is 00:56:27 Because I need people that want to jump. Because if you're passionate, I can teach you anything. You can learn anything. But the passion has to be there. And so that needs to be the thing. You're excited,
Starting point is 00:56:40 you jump out of bed and you're excited to come to work. Because I can't teach, I can't teach you passion. I can't have... Oh, man. Man, I can't wait for Friday. Can't do it.
Starting point is 00:56:56 Can't do it, bro. You got to have a passion. You got to be obsessed with doing it. And that's why I tell you, find something that you love. And never feel like work. Find something that you love. It would never feel like work, ever. No. And that's why people are like, man, when do you sleep?
Starting point is 00:57:11 I say, bro, I love what I do. I love it. It's my purpose. I get out of bed, I'm excited. Man, I'm going to have my daughter. I think I'm going to have her. Man, I say, I told my daughter. I think I'm going to have all. Man, I say, I told my daughter,
Starting point is 00:57:27 I said, you want to come work for daddy? You know what she told me? Talk about, nah, daddy, you're going to subject me to a hostile workplace. Because I already know you, daddy. You're going to be yelling.
Starting point is 00:57:38 You're going to be cursing. I say, yeah, if you effing up. She's like, nah, I think I'm... She's talking about, nah, daddy. Talking about, what I even called you? Talking about daddy. I said, nah, I think I'm, she's talking about, nah, daddy,
Starting point is 00:57:45 talking about, what I even called you, talking about daddy. I said, you can't call me daddy at work. You gotta call me boss. I'm talking about, ah,
