to work. He wants to do something. But I'm sure if an opportunity that would present itself, it would be with the chiefs, probably not anywhere else. Just being honest, because you know how, you know how that coaching thing is. Yeah. The coaching thing in general, the friends always continue to make sure each other have jobs always. I agree.

Always. So Eric BNME is going to get a job again in NFL. It will probably be with the chiefs at some point. If there's, there's always room because they, they can change the, they can change the name or what they identify you as and always feel you in some, in some type of spot. Well, I'm glad I don't want to be a coach because I know I can get me a job because the Shanahan has got to, get too many on that coaching tree. You got, uh,

Paul the floor. Yeah, you got a big bay. You got O'Connell. You got McDaniel and you got Shanahan. I guess I might give me an analyst. I get something. Tidy and coach assistant to the head coach. I get me a job. Yeah. I'm good. Yeah. I ain't trying to put in them kind of hours. No, no, no, no, no. Cause I know the kind of hours

I put in as a player studying. Oh, the coaches is worse than that. The coaches is worse. You gotta tell me. I think about, I think about some of the teams. Let's think about the team this year. The teams that have a losing season. You know the kind of hours coaches put in.

I've seen it. I've seen Marvin, I've seen you. I've seen Bob Bercouci sitting there all the time tonight. I'm like, y'all ain't going home? Yep. They got pillows and they got blankets in there, in the office. Air mattresses, yeah, absolutely.

When they got game plan? They ain't going home? Nope. When you got a game plan? Oh my goodness. And then I think about this. I think about all the teams that are having losing seasons,

like the Raiders or like the Giants. And I'm thinking about the coach staff. I'm thinking about the hours that they putting in. You not seeing your family, not seeing your kids. You not seeing your wife. And not only are you putting all those hours as a coach, then the goddamn record in the work you're putting in, the hours you're putting in.

Is not reflective of it. You're getting the goddamn results. Oh work you're putting in the hours you put in is not reflective of it. Get the goddamn results. Oh, hell no. Coach who? Man, I'd rather play Madden. You gotta tell me, does it? I want no part of it. That's why I say when I was done with football, you exhaust all of that.

I want no more parts of football. I'll talk about it. But as far as like put those kind of hours in to go in the wee hours of all time of the night. Oh, hell no. Absolutely not. Nah, I'm good. I appreciate that. And I don't mean I don't mean to be rude. And it's not about the money. But on coaching don't pay enough. I'm just telling you not not not compared not compared to no no disrespect. It don't pay enough. The hours you put in and the chances of you not getting the results for all the hours and work you put in, it ain't worth the pay unless you one of the big boys, unless you're

the Mike Thomas, you know, or unless you're the Andy Reads. You know, those that have been in are in great situations where you're going to consistently win over and over. You know, NFL owners, they got a three year grace. You only get a three year grace. Yeah, up and move and you don't win in those three years now you got to go. Now what you supposed to do with your family? Now what you supposed to do with your family? Coach it is like being in the military Ocho or being a Pentecostal minister. You know you go Ocho. You know you going to move. You know it ain't no situation because look at at coach Saban as great as he was coach Saban was at Toledo.

He was at LSU. He was at Miami, Miami, Donphins, he's in Alabama. Yeah. As great as he was, he moved. Oh, let me take that back. He was a DC at Cleveland. With Belichick. Belichick was there with Saban too, right? Yeah. Coach Belichick with the head coach, Coach Saban was the DC. But what about what about what about these coaches on show that's been, you know, 05?

And there ain't no guarantee because they might you off in the court, they might find you because office ain't looking good. They might find the defense court because he's not looking good. The DB coach, the linebacker coach the D like Oh hell now What happened that you you make me uproot my family all 51 goddamn thousand my goddamn kids. Yeah I'm I'm let's say I'm I'm in wherever Coaching I'm off to the coordinator. I'm a head coach and things ain't going well, you know, cuz I ain't got no goddamn quarterback So I don't know what you want me to do. I don't have no quarterback.

And without a quarterback, you're not going to win no goddamn games. And you talk about the owner, talk about you trying to fire me, you trying to fire who? You think I'm going to go tell my wife you fired me and we got up and moved back to Miami? Man, no. Run me, run me, run me my fade, yo. Run me my fade right here on the spot. And the thing is, we got to swap them.

You know why I couldn't coach Ocho? Because I really can't go out there and physically do nothing. All I can do is instill the training and the knowledge I can in the players and it's out of my hands. Yeah. And I felt that when you played Ocho,

you felt you could have some impact on the offense that you could help. I felt I could have impact on the office and we could win the game. I can't do ish. I don't like giving up that kind of control. Yeah. And the funny thing about, um, you know exactly what to do. You can coach, you have the knowledge of it.

So you're teaching, critiquing, trying to be technical from a standpoint. So they don't get it wrong. So you can go out there and perform at your best best so I can get the most out of you based on what I know I'm giving it to you this is what it should look like you're going through film you're breaking down tapes you got your game planning and they get out there and don't execute it and they got you looking bad because players get coaches fired yeah for sure players get coaches fired get Yeah, for sure. Listen, and I say I've never seen it like that. The way my grandmother and everybody that I know that that I've ever seen prepare raccoon. Normally they cut it up, they get a nice medium sized raccoon. You don't want him too big, cause you know, but look, you gonna put him in vinegar anyway and soak him overnight. But anyway, so you gonna chop him up. You gonna get you a pan with aluminum foil.

Y'all call it tin foil, we call it aluminum foil. And you cut him up, Ocho. You get your bell pepper, you get your onion, you get you some celery, you put him down in there. Hey, okay, you put that tin foil over the top of it and you let it stand up oven for an hour or so But I probably about about 90 minutes let him bake now

You won't put some barbecue sauce on it put that barbecue sauce on there Slap his ass back in that oven for about another 15 minutes. Now you got some I've never seen it like that with rice I've never seen I'm not saying you can't prepare it like that But growing up and I've seen a lot of people prepare it I've never seen it prepared like that now that's a side. Maybe that's a South Carolina thing Maybe that's specific to that region right? Um, you know But I've never seen it like that now with squirrel I've seen it squirrel fried smothered fried. I've never seen squirrel baked I've only it squirrel fried, smothered fried, I've never seen squirrel baked. I've only seen it fried and smothered fried.

Raccoon, I've only seen it baked. I've never seen it like chicken and rice. It's almost like, cause it looked like he had it with rice. Now, but I've never seen it like that. I'm not saying you can't eat it like that, but my grandmother, all the times I saw my grandmother prepare it, my great-grandmother prepare it, my aunt prepare it, my sister prepare it, I've never seen it prepared like that.

Now, I'm not saying I wouldn't eat it, I'll try it just to see what it tastes like. But I know the way that I've eaten it growing up. Yeah. I like that way better. I can already tell. But that doesn't mean it's all it almost it almost looked like Buddha. Who? Like Buddha?

didn't have a whole lot guys. You not getting no ribs. You're not getting those. I was just talking to my sister the other night. Oh Joe, we got fried chicken on Sunday. That's the only time I've ever eaten fried chicken. I've never had fried chicken on a Monday or two. Now, if it was left over,

my grandmother was gonna smother fry. You gonna get that floury water and make, and smother fry. But on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, I'd never had fried chicken on those days unless you got it from a like the hen house. That was the place after I had graduated and went off to college. They had what they call a crispy chick.

But as far as eating at home, we didn't get that. You got chitlins, you got raccoons. Somebody come by. Hey, boys, you all want a raccoon? All they wanted was to hide the fur. So they'd already have the raccoon cased out or. That's what they call it when they take the hide the fur so they'd already have the raccoon cased out or That's what they call it when they take the hide off or chose had him bust out But it makes you leave a foot on it so you could tell that's not a puppy

That's a raccoon so he was already he would already be dressed by the time you get him That's what they call it when they gutting him take the head off take the fur off They call it and they have it. Hey boys y the head off, take the fur off, they call it and they have it like, hey, boys, y'all will, yeah, we'll take it. They call it a bust down like a bust down like he bust down. Yeah, yeah, yeah.

When they've when they've already got the hide off him, they take them, they take the hide off him because that's only that's really the only valuable part that the the trappers won't because they trap them. You trap them or you

get dogs to go hunt them and treat them. So, you had a black and tan, you had red bones, you had blue ticks, you had bloodhounds, you had a tree and walker, you had dogs that go hunt. And so you turn the dogs loose and that's why you hear them. They got some trees. Now you go, hey, you get your rifle because you couldn't shoot him with a shotgun because you messed the hide up. So what you want is a 22 rifle, small caliber, hit him in his head, boom, you don't punch

you in the fur. Hey. To hide. So that's, now a squirrel ain't no value in the squirrel hide. So you a raccoon, I mean a squirrel, you use shotgun or 410, 12 gaze, 10, whatever the case may be. You get that, you know, you hurt quail, you know, you use bird shot. Something that spray because because once you hit a flock of them, they will scare the hell out you, but they go so you got to you got to turn the fire so you won't

shots that spread. Right now, if you hunting deer, you use a shotgun, but you gonna use, you know, you might use a slug or you might use buck shot, but you don't care. Hold on, you gotta be close enough. How you gonna use a shotgun on a deer? You got to, you know how close you gotta get for that to hit? But a lot of times people hunt from a stand.

So you up for the tree stand. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Or you use a 30-30, 30-06, you know, you use uh 30 30 3006 you know you use rifles damn man you know how to do the process of skinning the process it takes my brother can no i was young my brother my brother watching my uncles do it right and so he would go hunting and and he'd do it he'd kill a cool he'd come and case him out himself yeah he could do it And he do it, he kill a, he come and case him out himself. Yeah, he could do it. Oh yeah.

My brother killed a deer, a eight point buck with a single shot rifle. Yeah. He came home, he came home running, he was huffing and puffing. My uncle didn't believe him. He said, oh, he said, James, I killed a deer. He said, man, he said, what you killing with?

He had a single shot rifle. Yeah. My uncle said, bro, you ain't killed no deer. He said, come on you he said, what you killing with? He had a single shot rifle. Yeah. They'll probably weigh, you know, a hundred, a hundred fifty pounds. That's a big boy. Yeah. Yeah.

That's a big boy. But that's what you ate those things when you got hog Somebody might come home and it's like Mary we got so they bring you the feet they bring you the tail. They bring you the head Now oh you thought you'd go get the real you thought you'd go get the shoulder You got the hog mo you got the chitlins you got the heart you got the liver you got the dogma, you got the chitlins, you got the heart, you got the liver, you got the feet, you got the tail, you got the head. You cut the ears off and you can make pig ear sandwiches. That's what you got. With the cow, you got the tail, you got the tongue.

You wouldn't get no good cuts of meat. So what y'all thought we was gonna eat? Right. Now think about oxtail and oxtails are delicacy no people wouldn't eat oxtails like that back in the day not yeah not our counterparts they eat it now yeah you can you can't be you can you try to go did you try to go to the soul food restaurant they ordered up all the oxtails. No, you know how expensive ox tail is right now

Yeah, I know how expensive they are and stop playing Stop playing but that's what you ate growing up. So you ate alligator. I don't know alligator turtle They look like they got they got a Got a tail like a little alligator and they got the ridge on the back Yeah, so we I we catch them as big as a number two, a number two, why we call them wash tub. Some people call them tin tubs. It all depends on where you grew up at, but if you're in the South, you know,

exactly what I'm talking about. A number two, why stuff or 10 tub is big as that at the bottom. You're talking about something that 85, even a hundred pounds. Oh, we coming. oh, you coming home. My great-grandma we gonna cook you. For sure, even the soft shell turtles, with the, like I said, if you're from the South, you know exactly what I'm talking about. But oh yeah, I don't know what y'all thought

we was gonna eat. You ate possum, you ate raccoon. I had a great uncle, he ate armadillo. I know, I draw the line, but see, that's why I draw the line now, Ocho. I mean, I got some pride. Sometimes you just got to say no. Hey, like Karen said, sometimes you got to tell him no.

He ate armadillo. What's wrong? Now, I tell you this, Ocho, now you talking about some pretty white meat, a possum, got some of the prettiest white meat you'll see when you get him dressed. Right. But hey, them old when you get him dressed. Right. But a dem oppo eat him up.

But I but I would to make a long story short, I definitely would try that raccoon. I would try it that way because I've never had it that way. It'd be interesting to taste. But I know my sister. Had a thing that age that to a put that thing in a pan with the onion and celery and bell pepper

And so, uh, I just think at this point in time, yeah, obviously you're going to make a lot of changes.

And anytime, you know, coaches, staff come in, teach you want to get his players, so you're going to have some turnover there. But King, I don't think you're going to have that problem. I think there's going to be a lot of, I don't know if the GM is going to be gone, but the head, obviously the head coach, if you're already on the interim head coach, and he hasn't done anything to warrant keeping that job,

but there's gonna be a lot of changes going on. XX, Coach Sanity, the Bears haven't been the same since they fired Lovie Smith after 2012 season. Fresh high, you're right. They fired, what would the Bears give right now to be 10 and six? Man, they fired that man after 10 and six season. You know, you know how they man, let me stop.

those guys said, man, you can make the Pro Bowl. I was like, huh? Like ain't no tight end can move like you. I guess, hey, I thank Wade Phillips for that because I was the biggest wide receiver. And so I played tight end on the scout team, Ocho. Yeah. Cooking. Cooking. Man, I'm talking about I'm a combination of Jamar Chase, Travis Kelsey. Oh, I'm them rolled up into one. I'm catching the ball, putting the ball in the woods, scoring touchdowns, spiking. I'm doing everything. I'm talking about I'm cooking everybody. Yeah.

Ain't nobody had no chance. Wade Philip blew that whistle saying, Dan, put his ass in the game and let's see if they can cover it because we can't right next week in the game So yeah, that was that was but it was actually it once I got in the game cuz I have been you know was making plays but uh Once I got in the game mocho and called a touchdown on a proven player. Yeah. Man, you couldn't hit me an ass with a red apple.

I belonged. I belonged. Yeah. I think my belonging moment, once I was kind of, kind of figured it out was obviously my first touchdown. Never forget against the Chargers, Rodney Harrison and the DGC, playing for the Miami Hurricanes, Ryan McNeil. My first touchdown was on Ryan McNeil.

And once I got, once I caught that touchdown on him, once my confidence got there and said, okay, I just settled in a little bit. Well, that was all, that was all she wrote.
