Starting point is 00:04:11 See dkng.com slash promos for deposit, wagering and eligibility restrictions, terms and responsible gaming resources. On the same week, Miami locked up head coach, Mike McDaniel for the long haul. The Dolphins are doing the same for the cornerstone corner of their defense. Jalen Ramsey and the Dolphins have agreed to a terms of a three year deal worth $72.3 million, which is a hundred thousand dollars more. We watched Patrick Sutan, who had just recently became the highest paid corner. Jalen Ramsey, New Deal, 24.1 million a year.
Starting point is 00:04:51 Excuse me, makes him the highest paid corner in the NFL. Again, passing Patrick Sertane, who was the highest paid at 24 million for all of 24 hours. I mean, it's only right. It's only right. Jalen Ramsey to me. One of the better corners in the league that doesn't get the credit he deserves, especially a man, a man. In zone. A student of the game. Very smart. One of the best they ever play. So why not do right by him? He's gonna be a cornerstone in that defense. He's a you're exactly Howard is gone
Starting point is 00:05:27 He's your cat. Wait, who's that? There's a captain to yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah Yeah, come on that but dealing with what that you said Howard is gone Chubb is coming off an injury Phillips coming off an injury. I think yeah the one of the linebackers I think Howard I think he's gone. So they got some things going on. They really need Ram and they really, but he might not play Jayla Ramsey. Ain't nothing wrong with him. Ain't nothing wrong with Jayla. They said he might be a game time decision. Oh no, he good. Trust me, he good. He good.
Starting point is 00:06:02 He good. My dog gonna play. Who the dog has got Sunday? Oh, who the dog is play, Ash? The Jack, Jack and Bill. Oh, hey, boy, Jackson, a man, hold on there. Jacksonville got Brian Thomas Jr. Boy. Yeah. And they got Gabe Davis and they got Christian on Kirk.
Starting point is 00:06:33 Chris, Chris. Yeah. And you got the tiny end that they got that they signed. Come on, Ingram, Ingram, Ingram. Hey, man. Now, Jalen got the plate now. He got the thing. And Jalen Ramsey on the injury report. No, my dog on her ear. He good. He good.
Starting point is 00:06:52 He got to play a that goddamn Brian's time. Brian, Tom and Junior. Hey, man. He's on the injury report, which are. With a hamstring. Mike McDaniel said the other day he was uncertain if he's going to play on Sunday. God damn it. For real, he didn't practice Wednesday or Thursday.
Starting point is 00:07:16 I don't like that. I'm just telling you, Bill, I only listen, I only like the way that sound. Jalen Jalen soft tissue injury, T Higgins saw tissue injury. And listen, there's only one common denominator that comes down to one thing. What? Nutrition. Because I know they I know they eat healthy. And that's a problem, Jalen, I know you
Starting point is 00:07:41 don't see this, a T Higgins, I know you don't see this. You need to holla at me, man. Y'all need to holla at me. I don't care about none of them nutritionists and all them specialists that they got in at these facilities. They're telling you all this stuff you don't need to be hearing. We need to build a callus in the body.
Starting point is 00:07:56 You need to come see me. Ocho versus science. Don't listen to Ocho. Hey, listen to me. Don't listen to Ocho. Never been hurt. Never been hurt. Never been hurt. The proof is in the pudding.
Starting point is 00:08:08 Never been hurt. I played reckless. Man, you let me move. What? I played reckless. Jay Daniel says he wrote down CJ Stroud's stats from his rookie season on his phone to challenge himself for rookie campaign. CJ Stroud, 64% completion, 4,100, eight yards, eight yards per attempt.
Starting point is 00:08:30 Twenty three touchdowns, five interceptions. Do you think Jayden Daniels can pull it off and top CJ Stroud's rookie stats? Absolutely. Absolutely. Absolutely. You know, I can do it. I'm a whisper. You know why he can do it? I'm a whisperer. You know why he can do it? Why you can do it? He got Terry McLaurin. You want to know else?
Starting point is 00:08:52 Daomi Brown. Who? Daomi Brown. Okay. You know what? I don't even know who the third receiver is. No, I don't either. I't even know who the third receiver is. No, I don't either.
Starting point is 00:09:06 I don't know who the third receiver is. Look, I think what I mean, CJ, I mean, Takedale, Nico Collins, the tight end, Dalton Schultz played extremely well. Brown, Noah Brown played really well. Oh yeah, it looked like it came out of place, huh? Wait, who hurt? Jordan Love. Jordan Love? Ooh, yeah, it looked like it came out of place. Huh? Wait, who hurt? Jordan love.
Starting point is 00:09:27 Jordan love. Oh, yeah. Like, I only want to speculate. I'm gonna let, I'm gonna let that out. Yeah, it didn't look good. I think it's, I think, I think it's just a great one. They go spring. Okay.
Starting point is 00:09:42 Okay. I mean, how it was spring that that looked like something that his knee gave, but I'm gonna let them, I don't want to even put that out there. Peyton Manning is rooting for a rookie quarterback to break his undesirable record. He told Pat McPee-Mac, he said he would like to see somebody pass his mark for the most interception thrown by a rookie. Peyton said, you know, rookie quarterbacks is always a little struggle with me. I wanted to get that interception record that I had to broke it. I don't want to go next to break it,
Starting point is 00:10:11 but you know, if a quarterback in Washington or Chicago breaks it, I'm still pulling for him. I'm a quarterback fan, but I got to get that off my resume. It ain't happening. It ain't happening. But what was the record? it 30 to 20 18? What 28?
Starting point is 00:10:29 28 mm-hmm and one season yeah Ain't no way hell paint was that bad as rookie in that yeah, they were He worried they were But you got to realize that man came in calling his own plays from the jump. How many, how many rookie quarterbacks would you trust to call their own plays right now? Okay, every rookie quarterback, let's just say James Daniels, Caleb Williams, Bo Nicks, McCarthy's Hurt. So whomever, uh, uh, uh, Pinnix Jr. You will trust him to call their own plays on Joe. Hell no.
Starting point is 00:11:10 Absolutely not. I know Peyton had free reign like that as a rookie. What? I know that. Man, look at Bay Bay. That paid is always he has always been Payton. Right. He's always been Payton.
Starting point is 00:11:27 He's always wanted all that on his plate. He ran. Right, right, right. Walkthroughs, he ran walkthroughs. You know, he ran walkthroughs. I want this, this is what I want. Hey, he got to play it. This is what I want. This is how I want it to go.
Starting point is 00:11:40 This is the tempo. Right. He's doing all that. Yes. Right. Yes. Yes. That's dope. That's dope. Yes. Well, they paid set the record after being drafted first overall in 1998. The Colts finished 13 and three. He threw 26 touchdowns, 28 interceptions.
Starting point is 00:12:02 Damn. questions. Damn. Coach Prime says Travis Hunter will play offense and defense in the NFL. Let's take a listen to what Time had to say. That's what I said the other night. Yes. Yeah, I said, listen, I said the money is at the receiver position. So if he gets drafted, which I'm thinking
Starting point is 00:12:26 probably will be somewhere within the top five or top three is you're drafting him as a receiver, Travis Hunter. If you see this, you're being drafted as a receiver because that's where the money is. But what teams are going to do wherever you do go or happen to go, I'm sure they will have a small package for you on the opposite side of the ball. And I said, coming in as a nickel on third down. Yes. That was that. That's what I just said. Two weeks ago, I have a long goal. I agree. And I think that would be great. Yeah. But doing it
Starting point is 00:12:56 every play, but doing it every play at the highest level. It didn't happen. Now that ain't happening. That ain't happening. Now that ain't happening. That's not happening. And you got to see the number one receiver? Oh no. And then you got to come back and double back on offense? Shit. Boy. Nope. Uh-uh. There's a reason why it hasn't happened. There's been a lot of telling me guys.
Starting point is 00:13:21 Yeah. But to ask, that's a huge ask. um, to say that, to do it every time. And I agree with time. If you're going to have packages, if you play defense, you have a couple of packages to come in and you throw them a fade or you sort of throw a route that you want to get involved in. But to ask him and say, okay, you're going to play 65 plays, the office, 65 plays of defense, 130 plays. That's not happening. It had happened in a very long time and the guys weren't as talented, weren't as good as they are now. Now. So yeah, back in the thirties and forties and fifties.
Starting point is 00:13:54 Yeah. Oh Joe, we played both ways in high school. Yeah. Yeah. We played the chargade. I played, I, listen, I played both ways in the pro bowl. But, but. And that level raises. Why you exerting a lot of energy on. And we started to impact them some last year. Who did they play Stanford?
Starting point is 00:14:19 Remember, Stanford, that dude at 300 yards because he played off his defense. That guy's Stanford, he had a top 20 receiver, he had a top 30 receiver in this area. Right. So I'm a package. Yeah, not every single down packages. So whatever he is, whatever, whatever position that he he's drafted to play, be a corner, you have a package. No, I'm just saying, don't you?
Starting point is 00:14:46 Whatever they draft him. OK, OK, OK. Right. Have a package for him on the other side of the ball. But it's not a situation where he plays extensively on the other side of the ball. Hey, you know what Travis Hunter could also be? What he could be a first player in the NFL, right? You see how Ryber receivers are getting getting paid 35 year, 35 or 30. Matter of fact, Travis hunger would be the first one that gets paid double
Starting point is 00:15:14 because he offers more than just one position. Well, I think the thing is we see that a lot. I like that. No, so he could make it. He can make, he can make 30. Well, by the time he gets to the league, it'll probably be in his, he's up. He can make 40 million a year
Starting point is 00:15:32 with an extra added bonus for playing on the, on the defensive side of the ball, extra 15, 15 million. We saw like a lot of times, like, uh, Suggs, they tried to- Terrell Suggs? Yeah. And he was like, uh, subs. They try to. Yeah. The end, he was like, nah, I play D because I'm going with it. Because like the same thing with Michael Parsons, Michael says, I want to be a D lineman because the D lineman make more money.
Starting point is 00:15:55 You know, I'm actually I'm Joey Bolson. Yeah. Nick Bolson, Nick Nick is making 34 million dollars a year. Woo shit. So he made what? Yeah. I think what makes like twenty five, twenty seven, maybe. I think, you know, Miles Garrett makes like twenty five. What's the problem is the second highest paid CJ Chris Jones. He makes thirty one and a half. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:16:23 The D lineman be making a brand. So Michael's going to want to be classified and a half. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. You're making a brand. So Michael's going to be classified as a D lineman, probably. Age Russia. Not to stand up. I like. Oh, Joe, check this out. A woman cosign cosigned a sixty thousand dollar loan for her ex. Oh, Joe, watch this. Hey, she she they forget alone. Yes.
Starting point is 00:16:49 Oh, she got lucky. That was the devil. I'll be a God is good. But the devil made you do that. That was a devil. Yeah. Yeah. That ain't a way.
Starting point is 00:17:01 Listen, that she's she's a member. Member wait next here, right? Yes. Remember Whitney Houston, mama told about our old boy. He's a good man, Savannah. He's a good man, Savannah. That was a good woman. A good woman that's willing to do that for you
Starting point is 00:17:18 for some loans. Come on now. Man, look here. You don't think so? I ain't co-signing. It's hard enough to get women. It's hard enough to get women. I ain't co so? I ain't go. I ain't go. I ain't go to my kids. I'm just going to pay it because I'm not going to mess up my 800 plus credit with some bulls.
Starting point is 00:17:33 And I'm definitely not doing it for a non family member. Right. Hey, the car show. Look, my grandma took after my grandfather died. She had done my grandfather was at a farm and she had done co-signal so much fertilizer and farm equipment, man. Do you know how long it took my grandmother to pay off? I mean, five thousand dollars paying twenty five dollars a month. Right.
Starting point is 00:18:00 Can I tell you something? Do you understand how fortunate that young fellow was to have a woman do something like that for him? Do you know how difficult it is to find a woman that's willing to extend themselves in that manner? In that manner, let alone the small things. But if you think about it today, in today's era, in today's society, everything is on us. Think about it now. Everything is on us. Everything. We have to do everything. You got a court, you got to buy, you got to do this. And if they do buy you something,
Starting point is 00:18:38 it's probably your money anyway. True. You know? So the fact that she was willing to do this True. You know, so the fact that she was willing to do this out of maybe love or whatever it may have been at that time. It's gotta be love, what else could it be? Yeah, yeah. What the hell, give her $60,000 that don't love, Ocho. The funny thing about it is when you're in love, you do things that you wouldn't do when you're not in love.
Starting point is 00:19:00 Because you're thinking in your right mind. Nah, they say love is blinding. I ain't got no cataracts. I can see just fine. Right, right, right. 60,000 on Joe. So you wouldn't do that? Yeah, my brother.
Starting point is 00:19:14 Be honest, if you was in love with a woman right now, you would tell her no. I ain't paying no $60,000 on her shit. Oh, with nothing. You got me. I just said, you didn't listen to the scenario. If you were in love. No, Ocho, that's my, my wife is one thing.
Starting point is 00:19:33 A girlfriend? Right. 60 grand? Hold on, hold on. And girlfriend and wife, the rules are basically the same. The only thing that's different is the document in the ring. You because you know what happening cuz when they broke up and she left the place he beating somebody else back in now Guess what I pay for those long. I'm paying that loan off if somebody got a somebody got a bent over the balcony. Oh Hey Come on Oh Joe Oh, come on. Oh, Joe. Let me tell you. Let me tell you. Listen, I had a, I had a, I had a, I had a wonderful,
Starting point is 00:20:14 beautiful saying that I've been saying all my life. What would you have to understand? Now I think we are put on earth to experience people. We're put on earth to experience people. And at times my grandfather told me long time ago, son, listen, you're going to experience people. We put on earth to experience people. And at times my grandfather told me long time ago, son, listen, you're going to meet people. And I want you to always remember she's not yours. It's just your turn. Yeah. She's not yours. It's just a turn. So you really can't think like that. Now, now for me, for instance, you do things to extend that vacation. You do all the right things you can to extend that vacation and that stay as much as possible. You know, and you do all you can to keep an individual happy.
Starting point is 00:20:58 So it maintains itself long term. Look, I think the thing is, Ocho, for a situation like yourself, me or yourself, 60 grand, that's a lot of money, but I'm not gonna, I ain't gonna lose a night of sleep. 60 grand for her is probably like, I ain't gonna say what it would be for me. Okay, okay, okay, okay, I see what you mean. You see what I'm saying?
Starting point is 00:21:21 Your 60 grand is different for different people. Right. For her, that for different people. Right. For her, that is a stretch. Right. I'm not losing sleep over 65. But- That's how you know it was love. Right, but the problem is, Ocho, is that,
Starting point is 00:21:35 like I said, look, have I, have I, look, if I care about you, I want what's best for you, I don't want, even, most of the, most of the women that I've dated And they'll tell you this all of them if they've ever asked me for something and I could do it Take off I Was late I was waiting on that part, okay, I was waiting on that
Starting point is 00:22:02 Because hey look now a Lot of times I've been in situation and they've always did me a solid. They didn't say anything negative about me, didn't say anything bad. So they always good in my book. They could always be a Shannon. I need eggs. OK, I got you. Shannon, I need why? Because I'm never going to say anything bad about you.
Starting point is 00:22:23 No matter what is transpired behind closed doors. That's why I don't do anything publicly because I can break up privately. I can get with someone privately. But if I break it, but if I date publicly, if I'm posting, I'm doing all this the moment, then people start to try to fish and try to figure things out. But any any any any woman that I've dated, say in the last 30 years, if they ever asked for something monetarily,
Starting point is 00:22:50 and I could help them, I did. Okay, okay. Yeah, I like how you said within reason. I like how you threw that, you know, within reason. Because sometimes they continue to take and take and take and take and push the limits. They see how far they can go. No, I mean, I had one did me one solid.
Starting point is 00:23:11 I ain't gonna tell y'all what the solid is. But when it came down, she said, well, she had an ID to house. I want to, I didn't care. I don't have a down payment. Whoa, whoa, whoa. Come on now. You said that a little too casually. Listen to about your said that too casually.
Starting point is 00:23:24 He did me a solid. I'll be the real solid. Listen to me, Ocho. You said that too casually. She did feel solid. I mean, a real solid. Your boy was jammed up. Okay, okay, okay. I was in a bind. Okay, okay. I said, I tell you what. In this situation, she could have came to me and got $60,000.
Starting point is 00:23:41 She could have came to me and got $100,000. But she didn't do that. Right. You say, I just need the down payment. I say, well, how much is the down payment? She said, X. I said, if I give you Y, how much would your monthly payments be?
Starting point is 00:23:54 Cause I wanted to be as easy as it possibly can. So I tried to make it as easy as I possibly could. So her monthly payments would be something that she could manage where she wouldn't have to come back because I was in no position. I would have had no choice considering what she did for me. Right, okay.
Starting point is 00:24:14 I like that. I like that. I like that. I like that. I like that. I understand, wholeheartedly understand where you coming from. Yeah. Based on circumstance. I like that. I like that. where you coming from. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:24:25 Based on circumstance, I like that. I like that, but you're real. Look here. If you ever any of my coaches, my college, my high school coach, I bought him a car. My remedial, his Spanish teacher, every game, she didn't want anything, she'd say, Shana, I just want to come see you play.
Starting point is 00:24:46 I'm just so proud of you. But women that have been in my life, that have been good, and then try to harm others, you know, everybody ain't good. But if they've been good, they know they can get it. Right. And I don't want nothing in return. It ain't no, oh, you getting the good, No, no, no. I ain't spun the block. I have.
Starting point is 00:25:11 Yeah. Why? Why are you doing? Why are you? But she did. Hey, what, for what she did for me, like I said, Oh yeah. I understand. You ain't even got, you ain't, listen, you ain't even got to go in depth. I get, I get, I, from the passion and your passion in your delivery, I already know I'm with you.
Starting point is 00:25:29 And then better now. Yeah, I'm with you. I've been in that situation maybe once. Hey. Yeah. Little did she know, hell, I'll have bought the house. Yep. Why you bull-jiving? Cause I was in a position, I was in a position being now right, right? Oh
Starting point is 00:25:47 She could have said she had I need three other thousand for a house I'm like Can I give you the money and I just I just paid a note on it? Right, right, right, right My financial people go be asking some questions. I go pull three other thousand out of this account But what if I guess what if I gave you 100,000 and I just paid a note on it? I give you the money to pay the note.
Starting point is 00:26:09 But hey, hey, the thing we do, Ochoa, hey, look, I say, if you could, if you could look at me, chat, I'll keep a stack with you. Women that have ever dealt with me, I got one separate thing, protect the brand. Yeah, you protect the brand. I got you. I got you.
Starting point is 00:26:40 Don't talk about me. We do what we do, did what we did, leave it at that. That's why people don't know that I didn't know you were supposed to know. The less they know, the less people can talk. Now they can gossip and it's easy to refute a lie. Yeah, protect the brand, real protect the brand. You know, I ain't sleeping on the motherfucking couch no more.
Starting point is 00:27:11 Thank this here, man. Try to put me on the goddamn couch. Put you on the couch. He tried. So he tried. I just slept on the floor right there by the bed. Yeah, but I mean, you like I said, my kids like even my kids now, they know what 60 grand, what the hell you need 60 grand for? Trippin.
Starting point is 00:27:30 Nah, you have to come work. You have to come work for me. I just can't give you 60 grand. Starting point is 00:32:16 What up? What up? What up? What up? Now it's time for Q&A. Hey! What's up? What's up?
Starting point is 00:32:24 What's up? What's up from the airport tomorrow? Anybody in the chat in Chicago y'all want to pick me up from the airport tomorrow? I want to go get soul food. Dr. Frank, you got a lot of stickers up there. Dr. Frank, you got my five stickers up there. Black Paul Phoenix, can I get a nightcap hat? It looks so cool. Yeah, we got them up, we got them on the merch,
Starting point is 00:32:59 we got them on the site. It's pinned at the top of the chat, bro. You see that thing? Black Paul Phoenix, we appreciate that, man. You see that thing? Black fall, faded. We appreciate that, man. Yeah, that cat real nice. Gonna get one of them. Derrick, Derrick Jr. said,
Starting point is 00:33:10 will you guys ever do a show in LA? If so, I'm there. That might be on the, right now we're still trying to work out where the, obviously the next, the next tour to stop is gonna be in New Orleans at the Super Bowl. That's what we could definitively say. It will be probably that Thursday before that game that Sunday.
Starting point is 00:33:34 So that's our next one. But late spring, we're probably going to do probably five to ten cities. Probably circle back and hit Atlanta and Houston. But you know, there's some other places that we want to go and and and and and and show our fans the appreciation by going out and doing live shows in that area. So yeah, L.A. might be one of the stops. Yeah. And matter of fact, let me tell you, let me give you the lay of the land for the chat. If you watch it right now, let me tell you, if you're going to be in New Orleans,
Starting point is 00:34:10 I'm going to give you a layout of the land on how it's going to be. But nightcap in New Orleans for Superbowl. First of all, it's going to be smoke, right? Smoke will be coming out and then the announcement will be like, and coming to the stage. Smoke will be coming out and then the announcement will be like and coming to the stage is Unc and Ocho and then the fireworks, the pyro, what you call them? Pyro what? Pyro, yeah. Yeah, the pyro techniques, they're going to be coming out the fire, they're going to be
Starting point is 00:34:36 coming out the thing, right? And it's going to be smoke everywhere and all of a sudden you're going to hear the second line and the second line going to be going. So the second line bang will come out and then me and Unc will be hear the second line. Then the second line gonna be going. So the second line, bang, will come out. And then me and Uncle will be with the second line coming out. And then we're gonna be on stage, ah, ah, doing the footwork. And the footwork gonna be moving. And then the whole crowd, I don't, where we gonna be at?
Starting point is 00:34:57 Where we gonna be at New Orleans? We try to lock down a venue now, Joe. Okay, well, whatever venue we'll be at, we're going to be with the second line, right? We're going to be on stage going, you know, you got to, your foot, you got to get your hips right now. So your footwork, so your footwork will be on point with the second line. Okay. And we're going to be going right. And then, uh, Ms. Frieda, I know Ms. Frieda is big out there in New Orleans. So Ms. Frieda going to come out and she's going... Boy, Miss Freedia? I ain't see from... I don't know.
Starting point is 00:35:26 I think she famous in New Orleans. I think... I don't know. I don't know who the hell that is. I'm just calling names. I just hear some time. But that just how it's gonna be though. Yeah, it's gonna be nice.
Starting point is 00:35:39 That's my idea. Okay. We'll see how that go. Second line. Dr. Frankie L. Bellamy said, I'm loving you and Ocho and the Ollipop commercial. I hope y'all have more coming. We do.
Starting point is 00:35:53 We working. We putting a lot, you see Ash got to be up here tonight. I just knew I was going to have Friday night off. I'm like, man, I just had to add, Thursday night, Friday night, Saturday night, Sunday night and Monday night. Damn. Uh, hey, said Oh Joe, only way you know is potato wedges. Look at that
Starting point is 00:36:21 like a Jamaican stepfather. Hey, oh, but I'm telling you, I used to be in the wedge, but I used to be in the way. I'm telling you, we should listen. I'm going to tell you, chat. May y'all may y'all be playing with me. Look at the film. Look at the look at the special teams footage. Look at the special team footage from my rookie year with the Bengals. I was in the middle of the wedge. Boom. They used to kick off, right?
Starting point is 00:36:42 Boom. I would lock arms. It was listen. Lorenzo Nia was on my left Boom, they used to kick off, right? Boom, I would lock arms. Listen, Lorenzo Nia was on my left and Reggie Kelly was on my right and we would lock arms. And whoever the wedge buster was, they would always try to pick on me, but I would always win that battle. I don't know if they're the special teams or you,
Starting point is 00:36:59 or kick off a kick return, or punt a punt return, but they damn sure some footage of me out there. Oh, I'm telling you, it's out there, man. You too, me, man. Ron DeVall said, hey, brothers, having a rough few days, but the show always helps. Thanks for what you guys do, God bless. Ron, guess what?
Starting point is 00:37:22 Sunshine follows rain. And look, I know sometimes it gets tough sometimes. But the one thing you can't do, you can't give up. Just get up, put one foot in front of the other and realize that today is going to be better than yesterday and tomorrow is going to be better than today. And that's how you got to approach it. That's all. Dude, I'm right with you, too, because all my days ain't good.
Starting point is 00:37:44 No, my day ain't good right now, but I'm right with you, too, because all my days ain't good. My day ain't good right now, but I'm still smiling. But you know, I got my nightcap hat on. Ron, you were able to get up this morning, your blood running warm in your veins. You had your limbs. It was you in your right mind. And the first thing you should have did before you put your feet on the floor. God, thank you for allowing me to see another day. Because you know what? Somebody had an appointment to see you.
Starting point is 00:38:09 Oh, that's the only appointment you can't reschedule. Because when he signed your name. You got to come on home. Ron, you got another day, bro. I mean, sometimes we think about what we don't have, but you have the most important thing you have life. Yeah, I was listening to a lady that works in a hospice and she was she said and she wrote down, I think she wrote a book or something about when people about the transition, what do they wish for?
Starting point is 00:38:42 They wish for time, they wish they had told someone they loved them. They wish they had traveled more. They never wish for more money because where they're going, it's not accepted. Every day I wake up is a great day. And people like, and that's what I tell people. I tell people all the time. I say it's a great day to be alive if you consider the alternative. Now we all know we got to leave here at some point.
Starting point is 00:39:13 But I'm trying, I'm trying, I'm I, I ain't in no hurry. I ain't afraid of dying, but I'm not going to speed up the process. And I just think the thing sometimes we take, we don't realize just how fortunate we are because we look at what we don't have, where we ain't got the nicest house and we don't have the nicest car and we ain't got hundreds of thousands in the bank.
Starting point is 00:39:36 Boy, if you got life, all that other stuff, there are a lot of people that's bedridden and have those things and don't know they have it. Man, when you got your help. Nothing else matters. Nothing else matters. Because I've been on both sides of the spectrum. I mean.
Starting point is 00:40:01 When everybody's around you, poor, you don't realize how poor you are, which when everybody lives exactly like you live. You. Yeah. It wasn't until you go to, they got cereal and they get milk and they got orange juice and they got, you know, I'm like, well, damn wrong. You don't realize how good you got it. I know sometimes bro, it gets hard,
Starting point is 00:40:27 but somebody got it rougher than you. Cerebriane Martinez, love the show. My young sister, Maya is halfway through chemo. She loves watching you guys. Can you give her some encouraging words? Maya, you're doing an unbelievable job. Congratulations halfway through chemo. Hopefully this thing goes in transmission and you come out the other side healthy and better than ever. So myself,
Starting point is 00:40:54 I'm only Ocho speak for himself, but myself and one half of the nightcap crew, we want to encourage you to keep, keep God in your prayers, believe, and you will come out on this thing on the other side being amazing. So congratulations, Maya. Hopefully, a brand, a Brian, you call us back, you take us back and let us know how to do it, because. We want to want her and your family to all the best.
Starting point is 00:41:21 So you guys are in our prayer. Go ahead, Ocho. Yeah, you might stay strong out there. Obviously always start every day. Start every day with prayer. Always, you keep him first and you keep on fighting. You keep on fighting and keep on smiling. That's it. That's all you gotta do.
Starting point is 00:41:41 Tiffany Williams, I got my first can of ginger ale olypop. It's pretty good. I'm currently a dirty flight attendant. My question is, I know you guys like a snack basket, but what's your favorite first class meal? I like the damn, it was a barbecue something. What the hell? I know what mine is.
Starting point is 00:42:11 Y'all had something meal. I only shot them out, but when I go there, y'all see this Fox Brothers, y'all go give me a free meal. It was a barbecue something. Damn, I can't remember what it is. Yeah. Sometimes I used to like the burger.
Starting point is 00:42:29 I just used to like the plane burger. Oh, that burger. That was good. She said she's out on a plane. Yeah, but they used to do burgers. Oh, OK, OK, OK. It's last year, you know, when I used to fly off inside the NFL every week, American Airlines, I was on the same flight every time
Starting point is 00:42:51 and most of the time I would get the same meal. It was macaroni and cheese and beef rib, how you say it, beef rib? Yeah. Beef rib. Short rib, yeah. The barbecue short rib. That's what it was on Delta, the short rib.
Starting point is 00:43:04 Man, that shit was so good with the macaroni and cheese. Yep, barbecue short ribs. That shit was so good. Now, I started back last week and I was on American and I didn't get that goddamn beef short ribs with the macaroni and cheese. I just told you, this is inside the NFL flying me out, not me. That's okay, they'll fly you Spirit if you want to. That NFL flying me out, not me.
Starting point is 00:43:25 That's okay. They'll fly you Spirit if you want to. That's one thing I know about this. This is what they put me on when I go places for myself. If you tell them they will put you on, I guarantee you, I know how this works. I worked for networks for three years. I worked at CBS for a decade. I worked at Fox for seven years and I work at ESPN. They
Starting point is 00:43:46 will put you on whatever airline you tell them. Okay. Do you want me to tell them? No, no, no. No, you say it. Well, listen, they did all this before I could say anything. Now, I don't have a problem with it because it's what I've been flying all my life. The fact that they booked everything in advance. I didn't want to make it an income. I didn't know where you coming from. Because they asked me. Because they know where I live.
Starting point is 00:44:10 I live in Miami. Anytime I'm going to work, I'm coming from Miami. I mean, normally what they do, even Ash, they ask Ash where she have her most, where she have the miles at, and what airline she wants to fly with Jordan. Jordan is like, okay, I got X, Y, and Z. OK. Right.
Starting point is 00:44:25 What if we go into the same? They're going to probably be on the flight that I'm on. But they ask, hey, Shannon, there is an American flight. There's a Delta flight. There's a United flight. There's a Southwest flight. Which one would you like to take? But see, did you hear everything you just said?
Starting point is 00:44:41 You naming two and three people that you travel with when I do everything on my own. No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no ESPN, as you're going to go now, normally, sometimes I have to leave earlier. So as you come out of later date and time, but Jordan to be on the flight with me, but they will ask Shannon, there's an American flight leaving at such a such time, there's a Southwest flight leaving at this time, there's a Delta flight that's leaving at that time. There's also a such and such.
Starting point is 00:45:24 So this notion that they don't they do. Well, they don't need to do it for me because they did it already because they know I'm coming from Miami. So there was no need for that. Or you don't want to fly Spirit to make a long story short. I've been flying Spirit the past 20 some years. I'm not sure what you tell them to fly you Spirit. Because I didn't want to inconvenience him because they had already booked the flights. Do you realize, first of all,
Starting point is 00:45:48 do you know how many people traveling? You're inconvenienced. It's just me. I know. It's just me. But they got Ryan Clark, they booking travel for Ryan, they booking travel for Coach Belichick. Yeah, but they coming from all,
Starting point is 00:46:01 they see they coming from all over the place. I'm pretty simple. You making my point. I'm coming from Miami. I'm coming from miami the same place every week every time Is coming from he's coming from his home in massachusetts No, but bill bill bill got about 30 bill got 27 jobs like me He home So you could theoretically chat if he wanted to fly spirit
Starting point is 00:46:22 He could He liked the first class tickets. He liked the first class tickets. He liked the first class seats. He liked those accommodations. Actually, I like my Spirit flights, seat 18A, window, leg room, and I bring my own food with me, and they got wifi. Yes!
Starting point is 00:46:41 Yeah. Guess what? I'm just letting you know, ain't unchanged. First class got out, Delta got that too. I don't like I don't fly there. I fly American. They put me on American. Yeah, I mean, because look, sometimes Delta, I'm trying to fly nonstop.
Starting point is 00:46:57 I don't like to I don't like to do. Oh, yeah. I don't like. Listen, I don't mind depending on where I'm. I like the people. I like the people. Listen I like the people watch. Listen, Atlanta, if I have a layover in Atlanta, I don't care. I'll walk around, put my hoodie on,
Starting point is 00:47:12 put my sunglasses on, sit down somewhere, get me coffee. And it's so interesting watching people walk through the airport. I don't know why, I don't know what it is about that. That's an extreme sport to me. People watching. No. Cause everybody's so interesting.
Starting point is 00:47:27 I'm going, Hey, look, I don't do the layovers. You boogey. Nah, look, Ocho, I don't have time. I'm trying to get from point A to point B. See what I mean? See what I mean? Time is money. Yeah, time is money, but I have no problem laying over because that money is going to
Starting point is 00:47:46 be there when I get there. No, but whatever's for you. Listen to me. Whatever's for you is for you no matter where you get there. If God wants you to have it, you're going to get it. That's why he put him on a flight that's non-stop. That's direct. He said, shut up. What you get? He said, he said, I want you to get to this buddy. I'll put you on a direct flight to wherever you need to go. But over the last, I ain't gonna lie to Ocho, over the last four months, I've probably flown more American and United in the past four months than I've flown in the past 30 years.
Starting point is 00:48:22 Because it's always been Delta. Delta direct to New York, Atlanta, wherever the case may be. Now you gotta fly American, you know, fly to Dallas, Delta, I mean, in Houston, you gotta fly American or you fly, I was like, ah. I'm trying to get, I'm trying to get to be, I'm trying to get to be like,
Starting point is 00:48:40 get like five million miles on Delta. You like Delta better than American? I do. Oh, hold on. Hold on. What you know about this? Please tell me you flown jet blue, but the mint is it the mint experience, the mint mint something with a cabin is the cabin has the, um, the only, the only
Starting point is 00:49:00 blue light. So you haven't, you haven't flown the Seat Reclined? I mean, it like, damn, they lay all the way back. I heard it, but you know what, Ocho, somebody was telling me about that, about JetBlue, and they got this upgraded experience. No, I've never flown JetBlue. Oh, you got to see that, boy. I've flown Easter before they went bankrupt
Starting point is 00:49:23 and went out of business. I did some West Coast, I did some West Coast, I did some West Coast to East Coast. And there was a, I think it's called the mint experience or the mint something. I went on a flight, I was like, oh my God, boy. I like this. Mint condition, I think it's a group though, Ocho,
Starting point is 00:49:37 but okay, I think I know what you're talking about. I said mint, I said, I said mint condition. Oh, oh, that's a good one. I said I said I said I said make a dish. That's a good one. Hey, that was funny. Mink condition. No, I mean. You know who was Sky Breeze, Ocho? Who? Sky Bree.
Starting point is 00:50:08 Sky Bree. A rapper? Sky Bree. Shit. Oh, you know, listen, if it ain't soccer or football related, man, I don't really be knowing too much. I apologize. I apologize to the chat. I mean, I tried to, you know, you say Scott. Jet blue.
Starting point is 00:50:30 Yeah, mint, mint, mint, mint something. No, I thought you were talking about. She's a. I mean, when you get out, when you Google it. Scott, let me see, Sky Bree, you got my phone right here in front of me. Oh, Lord, have mercy How do you spell sky? Is that with one Y, one Y or two?
Starting point is 00:50:47 Yeah. You said yeah, you didn't even answer. Goddamn. I thought you said sky. Sky, I mean, sky. S-K-Y-B-R-I. Sky, OK. Take my glasses off so I can see.
Starting point is 00:51:15 Yeah, that's. Hey, I like my coffee, dog, man. OK, I'll tell you. I just said you talk about the sky. I like I like the sky, too. OK, OK, OK. I mean, yeah, I dog, man. Okay. I'll tell you. I just said you talk about the sky. I don't like, I like the sky too. Okay. Okay. Okay.
Starting point is 00:51:29 I mean, yeah, I did. I mean, yeah. Yeah. Oh, I ain't tell y'all to my son was got wise. I ain't tell y'all to Google it. I was talking to Ocho. Oh, I know who I know who I know who was what was oh,. Oh, I ain't know who I ain't know who I ain't know who was. What?
Starting point is 00:51:48 Oh, she. Oh, I ain't I ain't know that. I don't you know, I don't watch that stuff. Well, I'm saying that, you know, something I I'm backsliding every blue moon but I don't I don't know. I don't watch it no more either. I don't watch it
Starting point is 00:51:59 no less either. Hey, what? Yeah. I know who that was. Kimber, no one. You said, uh, who was the NFC East Eagles or the Cowboys? Who you got on Joe? We got it. We got to get a cowboy the chance to play first. Okay. We got to give him a chance to play first. You know. Yeah, I mean, basically what we saw tonight, it was it was up and down. It was it was sloppy in the beginning. Then there were there was spurts of greatness, flashes of greatness from from from both sides, from both teams.
Starting point is 00:52:37 Yeah, we see more. But you know, what you call them. Division opponents, man, you throw you throw that stuff out the window. It don't matter how they look. You play in my division when we played the Raiders or Kansas City or the Chargers Seattle when they was in our division, no matter how good they look. Oh, y'all think y'all will come here and just get an easy win. Oh, we play Pittsburgh and you know.
Starting point is 00:53:02 And the AFC, it used to be the AFC Central. It was us, Pittsburgh, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Tennessee, Jacksonville, and so it's like 16 before they realigned it with four six, what four division, you know, six division and six or 14. West eight, nine, eight division to 14. So four and four AFC for NFC. So four and four, uh, AFC for NFC. So four and four, 16 and 16. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:53:29 But oh, no, no, no, no division. You throw that out the window. Yay. Cause we know y'all, we were in play y'all twice a year for 10 years. Oh, so that's NFC in general. Yeah. But you know, you know, you know, you know how the Eagles feel about the Cowboys. You know how the Cowboys feel about the Eagles.
Starting point is 00:53:44 You know how the Eagles feel about Washington. You. You know how the Cowboys feel about the Eagles. You know how the Eagles feel about Washington. You know how Washington feel about the Giants. Ain't no love lost. Yeah. So, and we live for love company. If we not going to the playoff, I'm doing everything I can to keep y'all at the playoff too. I know one thing the commander,
Starting point is 00:53:59 the commander gonna be in the hunt. Commander gonna be in the hunt. Cause everything starts with the quarterback position. Yeah. And one thing about the commanders, they got a goddamn quarterback now. Mario Chiquito. Love y'all. Do you have any good stories playing from playing Seattle Seahawks back in the day? I'm looking forward to Sunday's game against the Broncos. Oh, man, I used to love playing in the old kingdom.
Starting point is 00:54:24 I don't know if you old enough to remember the kingdom, but that man, hey, you got that place would get the rocket and man, they had Rufus Porter. They had tears. They had a boogie brand. They had Joe Nash. They had a. Black. Man, they had a really good defense.
Starting point is 00:54:43 They were they were real. Hey, and that place, that kingdom, that whole like 55,000, 55,000, maybe. But that thing. Right. Oh, man. Oh, man. I had a girlfriend from Seattle. What's the name? I know. What's the name? I ain't no dude.
Starting point is 00:55:02 Fine. She was fine? What? She. Hey, Google it. Google it. See if she. I bet you married now.
Starting point is 00:55:10 Look at her. Look up her Instagram. I don't know. She even on Instagram. What? Find a Facebook's. I know I anymore. Facebook.
Starting point is 00:55:18 I'm on. She got tic tocs. I'm good. No, you should. You should. You should. You should. You should. You should. You should. You should. Instagram. Well, find a Facebook's. I know I am on Facebook. I'm on Facebook.
Starting point is 00:55:27 I'm good. No, you say you leave. Oh, Joe, it's OK to like, remember to reminisce and not try to reconnect. It's OK. I mean, I mean, why not? Why? You something wrong with your Wi-Fi? I tried to reconnect. Oh, Joe, she's married.
Starting point is 00:55:44 Oh, Joe, there are a lot of there. There are some people that I've dealt with. They're married. I know they're married. Can I ask you something? Yeah. You know, I love soccer, right? Yeah. Just because they got them gold and gold on me, you can't scope. No, no, you do. Oh, Joe, this is what we know about men and women.
Starting point is 00:56:04 He might not even he might not even love his wife no more. He might not even love his girlfriend no more. But let another man show interest. Hmm. It is too many out there. I definitely don't want nobody that somebody that she got a man. I thought after what I saw in Houston. I wish I I wish I I don't care.
Starting point is 00:56:32 I don't care how fine she is. Look, I'll show you that my grandfather said, boy, everybody has somebody. It's just to what extent they married. They got a fiance. They got a significant other. They're seeing somebody. It does not matter. Ain't nobody walking out there scot free. So with that being said,
Starting point is 00:56:54 after what I saw in Houston, Texas, the best decision I made is one of the few times I didn't listen to Ash Ass, because he was definitely trying to stick me to go to Houston. I said, oh no. You know, like you I didn't listen to Ash. Cause he was definitely trying to stick me to go to Houston. I said, Oh no. So you don't, Hey, like you say, God speak to you. He spoke to me, Ocho.
Starting point is 00:57:11 Cause he know, like I said, you got somebody, Hey, you got a wife, you got a husband, you got a boyfriend. I don't care what we just broke up. No, I'm good. I'm good. I'm good. I'm good Cuz I got too big. I don't got too old a tussle and I'm shoot. Oh Joe. I'm shooter brother side That's the size. I ain't nobody really trying to lock up with me. I Already know they don't put hey, they don't put bugs on my shirt. So I just leave that alone, man
Starting point is 00:57:42 Hey, they gonna put bugs on my shirt. So I just leave that alone, man. Hold on. When I was younger, I threw coffee to the wind. Oh, you got somebody? Well, he ain't here right now. Where he at? You know what I'm saying? That's a bad difference, baby.
Starting point is 00:57:56 As you get older, you start to realize, hey, Shannon, let that go. I'm cool with that. Days over, days over. I like what you said, though. Everybody got somebody. It's just to what extent? It's just to what extent?
Starting point is 00:58:14 Boy, I thought you were looking at Ocho. The best thing to ever happen. I've only been to Houston prior to just like to just to hang. I've been to Houston one time, but to go to be in Houston and to see the best thing to happen. God know what he did. He said, I'm going to let you go to Houston. I'm going to let you spend a couple of days in Houston,
Starting point is 00:58:34 but I'm going to let your black ass be 50 something years old because he know if he put me in Houston at 30. Right. No, you wouldn't have been able to do it. No, no. No, there been no nightcap. There would be no nightcap. As please would say it, every man got to know his limitation. I know, I know what my weaknesses are.
Starting point is 00:59:01 I know where my blind spots are. That if you't for me. And it's okay. It's okay. No man. I think, you know, when I think about it, when I think about it, like, I mean, me and Real was playing around, you know, talking about it.
Starting point is 00:59:22 Like Real was like, well, hell, even if you did leave in Houston, yes, don't go to a motherfucking goddamn way anyway. I mean, I'm in Miami. I don't go no goddamn way either. But I don't know. I, you know, I think that is I have a problem. I need to get out the house. I need to do stuff. I got a problem, too.
Starting point is 00:59:43 Sure. And Houston would not help my problem. Because here's the thing, Ocho, if you're an alcoholic, what must you do every day? I must drive by a bar or a package store every day and not one time can I stop and go in. Right. I know what my weaknesses are. I know. Ain't no fool. Mary Port ain't raise no fool. Right. But you got discipline though.
Starting point is 01:00:08 I do got discipline. That's why I brought my ass to where I... That's ta-da! That's why I'm here. Cause I got discipline. Right. But ain't no sense look. The thing is, yes I have discipline.
Starting point is 01:00:22 But I ain't buying cookies. I ain't buying Twinkies. I ain't buying cookies. I ain't buying Twinkies. I ain't buying donuts. I'm not bringing it into the house just so I can show you how strong my willpower is. Hmm. Why would I do that? Why would I put myself in a note
Starting point is 01:00:36 what my weaknesses are and put myself in that environment? Continuously, I'm asking for trouble. Mm-mm. Mm-mm. in that environment. Continuously, I'm asking for trouble. If you constantly put yourself in the way of temptation, at some point you get used to it and you ignore it.
Starting point is 01:05:52 Huh? If you constantly put yourself in an environment where you feel you won't have discipline, at some point it becomes routine and you just ignore it. Mm-mm. I'm just telling you. It's like forcing yourself. it becomes routine and you just ignore it. I'm just I'm just telling you. It's like for like it's like the soccer's on television. You ignore it.

Ryan, appreciate that. Stephanie Warfield, congrats to Tara Woodall for winning gold in Paris, and her husband Hunter won gold today.
Starting point is 01:07:12 He did, he won the, I think it was the T38 or T62? They got so many different, you know, in the Olympics, you know, some are hearing impaired and some are visually impaired. 262. I think he ran he ran sub 47 in the 400 meters. And he won gold. So Hunter Woodall, Jamal Hill and Noah Malone. So, yeah, that's they're very inspiring to watch.
Starting point is 01:07:38 Man, I saw the Brazilian dude. They call him the Brazilian Torpedo. I think he won the backstroke and got no leg. I mean, I think he might have had legs, but he got no arms. Right. He got no arms or so that's over. We're moving. Hold on. He got an arm, so they call it the backstroke.
Starting point is 01:08:02 Yes, go. They couldn't get it. He got an arm so they call it the backstroke. Yes. Gone. They couldn't get it. He was gone, though, Choke. The Brazilian Torpedo. What's his real name? Look up Brazilian Torpedo.
Starting point is 01:08:16 Hey. How you was swimming up? He had no arms. What's his real name. But they call the torpedo, right? Yeah, you got to Google it when you get done, man. The man was gone. Oh, he beat you, Ocho, the backstroke. Absolutely not. Oh, yeah, he beat you.
Starting point is 01:08:44 Absolutely not. I mean, that's what Absolutely not. I mean that's swimming is what I do. You ain't supposed to be that man. So to all the Paralympians congratulations. You're very very inspiring to see you to to let everybody know that no matter what you might be going to or thinking what you've gone through to see these Men and women young men and young women get out there and on the track and on the bike and shoot a guy from America He won the archery with no arms. Oh I saw that I saw that I saw that He won the archery with no a bulls-eye Man He won the art through with no bulls eye. Man, I'm sorry.
Starting point is 01:09:28 So when I hear people talking about I can't do something and I see what I saw. What they be man, please. Everything is possible. Anything. Anything is possible. Don Jr. said my brother Reverend Darrell Williams' birthday is today, Uncle Nocho, can you give him a shout out? Rayo, Darrell Williams.
Starting point is 01:09:49 Happy birthday, Rayo. Happy birthday, congrats. Enjoy your special day, hopefully it was great. You were surrounded by friends, family, and loved ones, and celebrate today and many, many more to come. Happy birthday to you. Nate Harper said, Uncle Nocho, I've loved this show since day one. My fiance, Ashley, is in the hospital with pancreatitis. Can you please send
Starting point is 01:10:11 their prayers and good vibes all the way? Love y'all and thanks for the laughs. Ashley, man, Nate is worried about you, but we know you're in great hands. Get out of the hospital soon. Hopefully this pancreatitis sides and you'll be back up and on your feet. I've never had it, but I've heard, I've been to know people that have had it and say it's very, very, very, very, very painful.
Starting point is 01:10:33 So Ashley, we wish wishing you a speedy recovery, the team here at Nightcap. Yep, praying for you Ash, praying for you. Simon Pound said, oh no, no, Joe, I'm a teacher coach in Ohio. And I was wondering if you guys remember the important teacher, junior high school, I tried my best to support these kids in the classroom and in life. Got any important lessons from from high school, high school, junior high.
Starting point is 01:11:02 Man, I can't remember nothing back then, but I was getting in trouble, honestly. I was a knucklehead, man. I'm trying to think. Man, I was a knucklehead. High school, I remember CSI, I remember getting referrals and I remember skipping class. I didn't do anything like in trouble, trouble, trouble. I'm just a little dumb stuff, man.
Starting point is 01:11:27 Yeah, you know what, I was- In other people PE class. I had a smart mouth. Other people lunch. You too? Yeah, that was my thing. Look, I knew how far to go because the last thing I wanna do was get suspended
Starting point is 01:11:42 and have to deal with Mary Porter. Ooh. So that wasn't gonna happen. I was gonna do just enough. You know, me and the guy, oh, man, we might, okay, we're gonna do this, we're gonna do this. And then you start thinking about it. Okay, I might get suspended.
Starting point is 01:11:54 No, I'm not gonna do that. Y'all can do that. Oh, no, I couldn't do that. But I was very fortunate that I had teachers that that I believe. But then I, for the most part, I do believe, um, that sincerely cared about me and my education. Although early in my career, I didn't really give a damn about education until I got to college. And, uh, cause Miss Kills probably was the one, um, my Spanish teacher. She was my Spanish teacher. If you can believe this, Ocho,
Starting point is 01:12:21 Spanish and remedial reading. Right. She told me that I needed to take Spanish. I say, Ms. Kills, I'm in remedial reading. Why would I take Spanish? She said it would help your Spanish. She says, if she told me Spanish would help my reading, I said, you're going to help me repeat the 10th grade.
Starting point is 01:12:41 That's what you're going to help me do. I said, if I'm struggling, I'm struggling in reading English. But she convinced me, but she was always there. She stayed in touch with me even after I left. You know, I had her for my sophomore year in high school. Even my junior year, I played with her son. Her son was a year younger than me.
Starting point is 01:13:02 Rest is so mad, he's passed away. I think two of her three kids have passed, but she's still one of my favorite people. One of my favorite people. She says me a card every birthday and every Christmas, I'm gonna get a card. That's loud, that's dope. Every birthday and every Christmas since.
Starting point is 01:13:27 1990. I'm going to get a card on Christmas. I'm going to call for my birthday. I'm going to get that. That's why every time she see my sister, she go ask. How's my son doing? Mm hmm. So. How's my son do it? So her and my high school coach, coach Hall, who coached my mom, my uncle, they would drive. I'm in Denver, I'm in Baltimore, I'm coming to Jacksonville.
Starting point is 01:13:56 They're coming. I go to Tennessee. They're coming. Atlanta. They're coming. DC. They're coming. They're coming.
Starting point is 01:14:04 They're gonna come., they're coming. They're coming. They're gonna come. Coach Harlan, his wife, Ms. Keele's husband was my junior high principal, Mr. Keele's. Coach Harlan and the Keele's, they're very close friends, best friends. So they drive, they come in to see me. So that relationship is very special.
Starting point is 01:14:25 I don't get a chance to get home, but when I do get home, I always tell Libby to let them know that I'm coming. And they always come by the house. Always, always. I mean, that's what like in college. Joyce McLemore, Jo and Green, Norman Elwell, Haynes Walton, Gay Hewitt, Steve Smith. I can damn near remember every, every, everything they said in the class. Probably Haynes Walton, probably learned the most from him. I probably.
Starting point is 01:15:05 Haynes Walton probably learned the most from him. He and Norman Elmore probably the most impactful was probably Joyce McLemore and Joe Hanger. I can tell when someone sincerely want to help Shannon Sharp. I can tell. And from the moment I stepped into these professors and doctors class, there was just a vibe, you know, that vibe that I could tell. Okay, they really want the best for me.
Starting point is 01:15:40 They had no idea. Because, you know, at that point in time, ain't nobody asking you, what do you want to be in life? Take the class and move on. But after what they do, you're like, well, Shannon, I mean, you were always on class. I was never late to class with you. You know, you boy had that thing.
Starting point is 01:16:00 Come Friday, slacks, button down shirt, hard bottom shoes. Oh, hey, well, you said that you said in the front, because I knew the answers. I don't know. I'm opposite the front. I want people to know. I know what I'm talking about. And yes, I raise my hand. OK, teachers, OK, you go to teachers. They like, hey, Mr. Sharp, Mr. Sharp.
Starting point is 01:16:27 Yeah, oh, Joe Joe cuz guess what the women with the class I don't know what them guys thought the girl would go. Hey as my coach used to say, hey ain't nobody ain't nobody Taking no panties off the first quarter It's gonna be the second or the third quarters and you dummies gonna be flunked out and y'all gonna get a right for somebody else. Hmm. Ta-da.
Starting point is 01:16:53 Guess who was around for three quarters for four years. That was you. I like it. Yeah. I like it. Y'all take them to the movies, send them flowers, get them cards when you walk out if you got a rifle shake already ready prep. Hey, you got to understand oh Joe.
Starting point is 01:17:17 I don't know why them guys thought like bro go to class. That's what a women are. The women are in class. They had to see okay every day. Oh, the class, that's what a women are. The women are in class. They had to see O'Shea every day. If I leave, I saw Calvin Klein, Polo, dark side. Clean his hair. What?
Starting point is 01:17:36 Oh, that creasing them pants so sharp in a cut you. And you know, back in the back of the eighties. Y'all know what I'm talking about. Back in the eighties decrease everything was creased. Was you start? Niagara. Niagara yeah with the yellow with the yellow. Yellow can yeah.
Starting point is 01:17:56 I stand my pants up and they stand right there in the corner. Yes sir. Oh yeah I remember them days. And I sure had the little ironed boy. Y'all know what I'm talking about had a little ironed boy. We had that kind of space I sure had the little ironed boy. Y'all know what I'm talking about, had the little ironed boy. We had that kind of space to have a little big ironed boy. Had a little ironed boy that you put on the bed. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:18:13 Hey, Ocho, would I say O'Shea was hell when he was whale? I know what you're talking about. Hey. I know exactly what you're talking about. I can't share my stories. I know you ain't never wrong if you're right. Yeah. No, you can't share those stories. Yeah, I want to get away with it.
Starting point is 01:18:33 Don't have no, no, no. I own the house. That's OK. So I can't be in it. You on the couch, though? No, I'm sleeping at the step of the bed. Nah, ain't nobody, she ain't even here. She probably watching. She in Tampa right now.
Starting point is 01:18:51 Yeah, I tell you what, Ocho, you ever iron your money? I used to iron my money, Ocho. Nah. Man, I ain't. I put them on, that thing be. I had sport, yeah, I had sport. Nah. Cause I would have been the only time I've seen people. I have money is when they get when they got wet by accident. I earned my money.
Starting point is 01:19:13 And you want to be crispy. I want to be crispy, old Joe. Chris, I'm going to die. That's a new one. That's a new one. That's a new one. I care. I hadn't carried a wallet. We grew up, my grandfather said that was a poor excuse for a man not to carry a wallet.
Starting point is 01:19:28 So he made my brother not carry a wallet. I probably won't go to the South. In fact, you might now. But I'm saying when I was growing up, I've never seen a man. I'm talking about until I was probably in my 30s in the South. They didn't have a didn't have a they call them a bill for Yeah Man my granddad and back was messed up cuz all he had was bills up in there cuz you know back there they kept
Starting point is 01:19:53 Every bill phone bill light bill gas bill they kept all them bills and they normally kept in their back pocket Nobody did that back then yep I wonder why they did that back then. Yep. Damn. Kept all the bill. Because you know, hey, you never know. They might, hey, they ain't not finna double charge you. Little do they know that sometimes they will try to get over you.
Starting point is 01:20:19 Yeah. You see, you use. But yeah, but then as I got older, I just started putting my money. I got a money clip that I've had that I put rubber bands on that I've had for probably 30 years. I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, oh Joe, you know what? I was the word sentimental. Yeah. I'm, I'm, I'm big in sentimentality. And keeping something for a very long time. Long time? Forever. Okay, okay, okay, I see what you mean.
Starting point is 01:20:49 If my brother, my sister, my grandmother gave me something, I still got it. I still got it. I got silver dollars that my sister gave me when I was like 10 or 11. I got them. Money my brother gave me, like two dollar bills and stuff that he gave me when I was like the key from telling on him, I still got it.
Starting point is 01:21:13 Money my grandmother gave me, I still got it. Right. I got stuff that some exes gave me to like Christmas gear. I don't. It's a safe deposit box. So I want people to say, you still got it. Yeah, it's a safe deposit box. I don't it's in a safe deposit box. So I want people saying you still got it. Yeah, it's a safe deposit box. I don't go look at it. You know it now. But a lot of times it's stuff that I that I it's not wearable.
Starting point is 01:21:34 Sometimes it's like stuff, you know, stuff that they've they've given me probably 20 years ago, 30 years ago cards. Okay. You know, okay. Okay. Okay. You keeping them. Okay, that's romantic. Yeah, I Like it. I like it. I mean they need to go pull about I'm mad at my sister cuz she threw all my other stuff my Letters, I had love letters. She threw away.
