Starting point is 00:00:00 This is an iHeartRadio app or wherever you get your podcasts. I'm Michael Kassin, founder and CEO of 3C Ventures and your guide on Good Company. The podcast where I sit down with the boldest innovators shaping what's next. In this episode, I'm joined by Anjali Sood, CEO of Tubi. We dive into the competitive world of streaming.
Starting point is 00:00:45 What others dismiss as niche, we embrace as core. There are so many stories out there. And if you can find a way to curate and help the right person discover the right content, the term that we always hear from our audience is that they feel seen. Listen to Good Company on the iHeartRadio app, Apple podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Hi, I'm Sarah Spain, host of Good Game with Sarah Spain and the co-author of the new book Runs in the Family, an incredible true story of football, fatherhood, and belonging written
Starting point is 00:01:22 with and about Las Vegas Raiders running backs coach Dylan McCullough. It's the story of a football coach and father of four who sees his life forever changed by the unsealing of his adoption records. And it's got a twist you won't believe. Based on the viral ESPN story I did a few years ago, this book will blow your mind and bring you to tears. Buy runs in the Family wherever books are sold. The Volume. Ocho, we've got breaking news. Dana White announces John Jones has retired from the USC on a phone call last night. Ocho, let's take a listen to what Dana had to say. John Jones called us last night and retired. John Jones is officially retired.
Starting point is 00:02:18 Tom Aspinall is the heavyweight champion of the UFC. Really that simple? He said John Jones called him last night and said he was officially retired. He says okay John Jones is officially retired. Tom Aspinall is now the new heavyweight champion of the UFC. Damn. I think John's what 37-38? He was the youngest, he was the youngest UFC heavyweight champion at 21. He's 37. In my book, he's the greatest UFC fighter in history.
Starting point is 00:02:56 I know look, I know J, GSP, George St. Pierre had, was phenomenal. Anderson Silver was phenomenal. A Mighty Mouse, Demetrius Johnson was phenomenal. Anderson Silver was phenomenal. The Mighty Mouse, Demetrius Johnson was phenomenal. But when you had the totality of it and the guys in which he beat. Yeah. Hey, I don't think anybody will argue that. I don't think anybody that is a fan of combat sports or just a casual fan in general will argue that John Jones is the greatest UFC fighter of all time. There's no way you can argue about it. He had a great career, a great, great career.
Starting point is 00:03:29 I'm sad to see him go. There's somebody that was talking trash. I can't think of their name. And the video from a year ago just came about in the ice. That was Aspenall. That said, I'm gonna get John Jones to retire without him fighting me. That was Aspenol. He said that on Hawani. You know what's funny is I think at some point, I think knowing John Jones, knowing the competitor that he is, I think he's going to come back for one more fight.
Starting point is 00:03:58 I think he's going to come back for one more fight just to put that young individual that thinks he really wants that smoke. Yeah. To give him exactly what he want. I can feel it. I can feel it. Because every time a fighter says he's retiring, what's the one thing they come back and do? Fight.
Starting point is 00:04:14 With the money, the money's going to be right. I guarantee you. Watch. Book it. Yeah. I mean, Bones, man, he has no weakness. He could wrestle. He could strike.
Starting point is 00:04:24 He could submit you. He was good on his feet. He was good at, he was he has no weakness. He could wrestle, he could strike, he could submit you. He was good on his feet. He was good at, he was good on the ground. I mean, he's phenomenal. The matches that he had with Cromier, Gustafson, Leto Machida. I mean, hey, like I said, look, I don't follow it as much as I used to,
Starting point is 00:04:42 but I know, I understand UFC. I know George Sapierre and I know Mighty Mouth, Demetri used to, but I know, I understand UFC. I know George St. Pierre and I know Mighty Mouse, Demetrius Johnson, and I know Anderson Silver, they had great runs. Nothing like this. No, nothing like this. No, no. It listed longevity. His longevity is that of LeBron James.
Starting point is 00:04:58 I'm not comparing one year I'm just in for a combat sports in an octagon. That type of longevity, longevity and being successful at it. And the fight game, they don't have no long runs like this. Oh Joe in the fight game, anything can happen. He had a 20 win, a 20 win fight streak now, a 20 win fight street. You know how difficult that is in combat sports. MMA for that matter.
Starting point is 00:05:23 I mean, think about it. How he ran through Cyril Gaahn in the heavyweight division. Remade missed me a steep. Now I know steep was a little older. Him and Daniel Cormier had had tremendous fights, but man. Yeah, that's great. Hey, I'm too mad. This might be, as you know, who's finna get that work?
Starting point is 00:05:41 Huh? Nah, you don't want that kind of work on Joe. I ain't telling. I ain't there. I'm not listening. I'm not talking. No, I'm talking. Yeah, man, that cage, that cage different than that square. Yeah, I feel you.
Starting point is 00:05:54 I'm talking, I'm talking about, but what? I ain't heard from James Harrison in a minute. He doing all right. We'll talk to him. Yeah, he doing fine. Okay, I'm just making sure he good, man. I hope he working. I've been working.
Starting point is 00:06:06 You know, Jim said, you know, Jim's, uh, will say something very interesting about, and, and about what Nas say. Not yet. Got that a hundred million. Yeah. I mean, look at how you don't see home in the booth all the time. It's gotta mean something to him. When you get that kind of money, you, I mean, I would like to thank you trying
Starting point is 00:06:21 to like, get to a certain level. Right. And now it's got to, it's got to really, I mean, it's got to really move. I mean, Hove ain't just getting in a, could he do, he got to start with music. But you know, Hove for so many other things other than music. Business. He's a businessman. A business man.
Starting point is 00:06:39 Yes. So Nas, the investments you read about the, the investments that Nas has made. And like the desire to get in there and, and, and, and probably get into the studio, it probably doesn't exciting. Like it was dead and that's okay. It's okay. Hey, and the funny thing about it, if Jay-Z is one of those individuals, despite today's hip hop in the sound of it,
Starting point is 00:07:05 I think he can still come out and be successful. I think the one thing that's important because he's so good lyrically and he's a lyricist, the one thing that has to be very, very important, just hypothetically speaking, if Jay-Z was to make an album now, is the beat. The beats. The beats have to be captivated for today's sound. Me personally, I think now he don't really have the desire to do a full album.
Starting point is 00:07:31 He would prefer to jump on somebody else's. Like when DJ Khaled got him, Wayne, and Ross. I think he's more apt to do something like that, Ocho, as opposed to his own project. Maybe if we either say, hey bro, I need you, I need you on this track, something like that, but for him to just to take the time to get into the studio all on his own. And I don't, I don't see that in him. And, and you know, like it's like Connor McGregor. Once he had that fight thing about it.
Starting point is 00:07:59 Once he had that fight with Floyd Mayweather and he got a hundred million all of a sudden, you know, getting them getting kicked in the face and getting elbowed in the head didn't seem appealing. And he ain't really fought a bunch and he didn't win the whole lot since. And the funny thing about it is his businesses outside of the Office of Dehonnigal, well, he doesn't even need to come back and fight. He still, he still trains his ass off as if he's ready to fight. I'm not sure what's going on with that, but he's, he's but he's one of the greatest fighters of all time in being able to transition and turning,
Starting point is 00:08:32 going from the octagon to business into millions. That's why I take my hat off to Floyd Mayweather because even though he was making 20 and 30 million to fight, he still trained like he was broke. And I say that about Floyd and I say that, but I say that about any athlete. You look at LeBron, you look at Brady, you look at Manning, you look at these guys,
Starting point is 00:08:52 Jordan, Kobe, guys that's making millions, millions. I mean, you see the work now and you see the way they still go about it and they play and they train as if they were flat ass broke. Yeah. Be it Ronaldo or Messi or Mbappe or Harlem. I mean, we talk about LeBron,
Starting point is 00:09:13 but you look at Mahone, look at Lamar Jackson, look at these guys that's making millions. And they still be like, bro, they train and they play as if they're broke, like they're trying to get in. And this is a, the UFC, that's a very unforgiving sport. Because you don't see guys, you know, hold on the belts for years and years and years because Dana White won't let you duck anybody.
Starting point is 00:09:37 You don't chair, you don't chair pick. They tell you who the hell you going to fight. So it's not like in that division, like, nah, I'm going to fight the number 10 contender. I'm going to fight the number eight. Now Dana say you're going to fight the number you gonna fight. So it's not like in that division like nah I'm gonna fight the number 10 contender, I'm gonna fight the number eight. Nah Dana say you gonna fight the number one contender. You're gonna fight the number two contender. That's why people I think really love the UFC is because ain't no ducking and dodging. It ain't no selection. You ain't picking nobody. Oh I can beat him. Oh yeah and Dana and that his nah, bro. You won't get it here and I give John credit I mean, you know people gonna say well he retired cuz they didn't fight Aspen all but I know for about a few
Starting point is 00:10:14 Almost two decades. He fought everybody they put in front of it. Mm-hmm everybody they put in front of him from good Gustafson to chromium to Sugar all of them. It didn't matter. Hey, one thing about it is I've always heard the gripes. I've always heard the rumblings about the pay in UFC not being that great, not being what it should be for what these guys are doing and putting their bodies and lives on the line every time they step in the octagon. But I'm telling you, mark my words, Jim Jones book, I mean, Jim Jones, John Jones,
Starting point is 00:10:53 John Jones will come back and fight again, against what's his name again? Huh? John Bone Jones? Yo, I know that. But what's the guy that said he was going to retire without- Oh, Aspinall, Tom Aspinall. Brother Aspinall is going to get that fight you're looking for and Dana Weiss gonna make it a payday He's gonna make it a payday for John Jones to come out of retirement so that fight can happen It's gonna be a miss gonna be a mega fight. I'm Gary Absolutely
Starting point is 00:11:19 Absolutely One last hurrah. One last hurrah. Yeah, I mean, who would say, I mean, the guy's done everything. I mean, what more, I mean, a two division champ, light heavy and heavyweight. He dominated that division. I mean, people can say two division champ, light heavy and heavyweight. Uh, he dominated that division. I mean, I mean, people can say, well, Reyes beat him or this guy or that guy.
Starting point is 00:11:51 They look, all I know is that he lost the fight, but he was disqualified. Cause I think he elbowed somebody, uh, when they was down or he did something. Um, but as far as like they beat him on the scorecards or something like that, without the DQ that's never happened. Right. He's special like I said, the most complete fighter because he has no weakness. He can do it all. He could wrestle you. He could strike you on his feet. He could submit you. He was great on the ground. He was, I mean, he was an all-around fighter, had great defense and when he needed to dig deep, he could dig deep.
Starting point is 00:12:25 He could dig, he needed to dig deep he could dig deep he could dig he could absolutely dig deep and there's there's a reason why Dana when they say well who's the the greatest fighter in UFC there's no hesitation John Jones and complete fighter John Jones and GSP especially you know Usman had a great run G uh, GSP, like I said, Anderson silver. There've been some guys that had 10, you know, 10, 13 match win streaks. I like John. No, he's just, he's phenomenal. That 20, that 20, that 25 win streak is going to, it's going to stand.
Starting point is 00:12:57 It's going to stand for a while. It's going to stand for a while. Yeah. Um, special, special fighter, but breaking news, Dana White announces that John Jones called for a while. It's gonna stand for a while. Yeah. Special, special fighter, but breaking news, Dana White announces that John Jones called, phoned him last night and said he was officially retiring from the UFC. And in that motion, Dana White did the only thing
Starting point is 00:13:18 that he could do, declare Tom Aspinall the UFC heavyweight champion. So, and like I said, John had probably only fought what? Two times in the last three years? I mean, he beat Cyril Gahn and he beat Stipe. But those fights was probably a year, you know, 380, 400 days apart. So he hadn't fought a whole lot
Starting point is 00:13:41 in the last three to four years. But that just goes to show you just how great he is. Think about the dojo, the amount of time that he took off and he ran through zero gone, and then he did a spinning back kick to the liver of, uh, of steep pay and got him out of there. Yeah. And many believe steep pay is the greatest heavyweight champion ever. And he may mincemeat of it. Hmm.
Starting point is 00:14:09 Legend. Well, we can honestly say he went out on top. He did. He did. And he's going to do what every other fighter has done. I'm telling you, I'm retiring. A little bit down the line. I'm coming back. All right. Does Mike McCarthy deserve way more respect? We look at Mike McCarthy
Starting point is 00:14:32 and Mike Tomlin. We will put the graph up there, Ocho. Both have coached 18 seasons. Both have 12 playoff appearances. Eight division titles for McCarthy. Seven for Tomlin. 11-11 playoff record for McCarthy, 8-11 playoff record for Tomlin. Ooh, it's funny when you put that graphic up there, put that graphic up there like that. Most of McCarthy's success was where? Over there in Green Bay. Back. Yeah, over there in Green Bay. But he did probably win what? He won like two titles or two division titles in Green Bay.
Starting point is 00:15:04 But he did probably win what he won like two, two titles or two division titles in Green Bay. Mm hmm. But I obviously it wasn't enough. It wasn't enough what he was able to do in Green Bay. It didn't transition over over in Dallas the way it should have. I mean, you didn't have number 12 either. No, he coached ref arm too. So he had, he coached guys that won, you know, well at the time that he coached him, they won five MVPs.
Starting point is 00:15:27 Right. Well, he didn't want all the, he did. He coached Brett far, but Brett one of those MVPs on the, uh, home grid. But he had him. He did coach Brett far. He did coach Aaron Rogers, two MVPs, what a super bowl with him. Um, he just, uh, I just think he underachieved. I mean, cause he had some really good teams at Dallas and for whatever reason,
Starting point is 00:15:51 they couldn't get past the divisional round of the playoffs. They, they flamed out his first year there. They had the best, had the number one seed and Green Bay came in and beat him. As a matter of fact, Green Bay beat him four, three times. Yeah. Damn. That defense, that defense let him down every time. Every time. Welcome to the You Versus You podcast. I'm Lex Perero, and every week we sit down with some of the biggest names in entertainment to talk about the real stuff, the struggles, the doubts, and the breakthroughs that made them who they are.

Starting point is 00:16:44 I'm trained to go compete. I'm trained to like go harder. But sometimes that mentality stops you from stopping and smelling the flowers in your own garden. Is it wrong to want more? We migrated, our family migrated here. I'm like second generation. Who's not going to have a trauma
Starting point is 00:16:57 coming from a foreign country and you arrive in the United States and you don't speak English? Listen to You Versus You as part of Michael Tudda Podcast Network, available on the iHeartRadio app, You don't even speak English when you arrive in the United States. the boldest innovators shaping what's next. In this episode, I'm joined by Anjali Sood, CEO of Tubi, for a conversation that's anything but ordinary. We dive into the competitive world of streaming, how she's turning so-called niche into mainstream gold, connecting audiences with stories
Starting point is 00:17:38 that truly make them feel seen. Would others dismiss as niche we embrace as core? It's this idea that there are so many stories out there and if you can find a way to curate and help the right person discover the right content, the term that we always hear from our audience is that they feel seen. Get a front row seat to where media, marketing,
Starting point is 00:18:00 technology, entertainment, and sports collide. And hear how leaders like Anjali are carving out space and shaking things up a bit in the most crowded of markets. Listen to Good Company on the iHeart radio app, Apple podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Titan's quarterback Jarvis Brownlee takes shot at coach quarterback Anthony Richardson. Responding to a video of Richardson rapping, Brownlee tweeted, Andy on the clock for this BS. AFC got...
Starting point is 00:18:43 I guess he rapped while he was at the University of Florida. Andy on the clock for this BS. AFC got, I guess he rapped while he was at the University of Florida. He had a name and everything. I don't know anything about that, like I said. Well, I don't know. Hey, I didn't know anything about that either. Oh, he just released a rap video, Ocho. Oh, he did? Yeah. Okay, I'm gonna be listening.
Starting point is 00:19:00 Ain't nothing wrong with that, you know? You know, ain't nothing wrong with that. Now, listen, when you have other hobbies that you like to do. You better be good at the thing they pay you for. How about I just get ready to say that? Well, hey, you took the words right out of my mouth. You took the words right out of my mouth. Now, they got Brother Daniel Jones over there, right?
Starting point is 00:19:14 You hear me? They got Brother Daniel Jones over there, who they just paid $14 million for one year, most of the time. Now, you got a player that is making way more than you and you're supposed to be the starter which lets me know you need to be on your P's and Q's. All your I's need to be dotted and all your T's need to be crossed. This is the make or break of year for Anthony Richardson. Absolutely.
Starting point is 00:19:39 This is the make or break of year. Anthony Richardson goes by the name GVO, which stands for Gainesville Own. He released a song called Villain. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Ain't nothing wrong with the villain. You know, the villain, the villain make history. Like I said, you could have a lot of hobbies, but the thing that you get paid for,
Starting point is 00:19:58 you better be good at that. Hey, uh, yeah, at all times. And that goes for everybody in the chat. Whatever you decide to do outside of your job, you gotta keep the main thing the main thing. The main thing the main thing. The main thing the main thing at all times. Because you know, sometimes like guys, you gotta realize bro,
Starting point is 00:20:16 you're a football player. You keep on thinking you're a celebrity, you're not. You're not in no movies, you're not in no TV shows, you ain't got none of that. You are a football player. Hey, you know one thing they will do, one thing they do, and one of the problems that I do have with this era and players having social media, they more focused on their brands.
Starting point is 00:20:35 They focused on their brands first before it come time to play football. Your brand should be winning. The brand gonna take care of itself. You're handing your business in between them white lines and that green grass. Yes. The brand is gonna take care of itself. You're handing your business in between them white lines and that green grass. Yes. The brand is gonna take care of itself.
Starting point is 00:20:47 You wanna maximize, you wanna maximize your potential off the field, cut a fool on it and watch what happens. That's how it works. But look, I just want a young man, I think he has some talent. Yeah. You know, he has an art grade arm, but he needs to take it a little bit more seriously.
Starting point is 00:21:04 He needs to work on his craft. But it was hard to, you know, he has a great arm, but he needs to take it a little bit more seriously. He need to work on his craft. Um, but it was hard to, you know, you look at his, you know, six, four and a half, six, five, two 40 could run like he could run had the arm talent, but it's more to did being a physical specimen. No Joe quarterback is a lot more than that. That he could be the least athletic guy and they mostly time are now obviously, you know, they're the situation where you get a Lamar That but for the most part
Starting point is 00:21:32 Here and here what you got yeah, and the funny thing about it is you heard what you just said It was very interesting what you just said the most non athletic guy most of the time they have to work Extra extra hard in other areas other areas to make up for what they lack in athleticism in speed. They got to beat you here. And with the arm, as opposed to everything else, guys that have the most thing about guys that have the most passing yards, Brady ain't got no big arm. Drew Reed ain't got no big arm paid man.
Starting point is 00:22:04 He ain't got no big arm. It cameves ain't got no big arm. Peyton Manning ain't got no big arm. It can't run worth a damn. Nope. Nope. LeBron debuts his limited edition Richard Mille. Ocho you getting one of the LeBron's Richard Mille? Let me see let me see let me see what that thing look like. Let me see let me see what that thing look like, let me see, let me see that thing look like. Nah, that's too big. That's, that's too big. I like, I like, I like the RM 7101, 727201. It looks like it got his, uh, if I'm not mistaken, look, I guess guys got his King logo, his crown.
Starting point is 00:22:36 Yeah. Okay. Okay. Nice piece. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I think he said it, I think I saw he said it was one of 150.
Starting point is 00:22:47 Hmm. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I think he said it, I think I saw he said it was one of 150. Because I know they did, they did some things. They did, they got one a collab with Travis Scott, the Cactus Jack one with the strap. I think they did, Bubba Watson did one. I think Rafael Nadal. Those are some of the guys that I think off the top of my head. I think they did a, I think another Formula One driver might have did a collab with them. I'm not sure.
Starting point is 00:23:16 I mean, it's a nice piece. Yeah, it is. It is. I don't, I'm not really a fan of the loud yellow, but yeah, I mean It's cool. It's cool. I think that I stick to my RM 6701 I like the thin thin very very thin look like he really wearing nothing Ocho you said I met Deandre Jordan today. I'm not as tall as I thought I was and that was quite upsetting. Ocho Yeah I'm not as tall as I thought I was and that was quite upsetting. Ocho. Yeah. Damn.
Starting point is 00:23:46 Man, you on your tiptoes and you still barely to the man chin. I ain't on my tiptoes. Yeah you are. I can see them. You know we can see down at the bottom, right? I'm out of my, I'm on. Yeah, you on your tiptoes. Oh, no, I'm not on my tiptoes.
Starting point is 00:24:00 That's the way the floor. That's the way the floor is. Yeah, I know. Yeah. That's the way the floor is on no yeah That's the way the floor is it just look like that why his feet ain't like that I think I don't socks Tony. He got on so yeah, he got on flats you on your tiptoes and you still I Mean I'm right down. I'm about I'm about six five. How tall you think he is like 16?
Starting point is 00:24:26 Yeah, then they didn't boy. They tall? They be tall for real. Them boys tall, man. They be tall for real, man. I see you got a pic with Mellow? Yeah, yeah, yeah. That's all Mellow I saw is. You on your tiptoes? Damn, Ocho! Be okay with your height!
Starting point is 00:24:42 I ain't on top. Yes you are, Ocho! People can see oh No, no, that's the shoe that's the arm. What's the call? I know why Bella shoes ain't like that. Oh I don't think he don't use them orthopedic. Yes, what the Peter you got a picture with Draymond? You're on your toes again. No, I'm not me and Draymond the same height go put up put a water with Draymond Me and Draymond the same height. Go put a one up with Draymond. Me and Draymond the same height. Look. Hey, go down to his feet. Go on, pull that down. Look at her. Oh, you told me to get you. You done been on three different surfaces.
Starting point is 00:25:23 I'm not on my toes. It's the orthopedics. Yeah. I got them orthopedic shoes. Normally orthopedics only one, normally people that got the orthopedic shoe they's on one foot. It ain't on both of them. Oh no, it's on mine it's on both of them. Yeah, you got that Mr. McAfee. You got that Mc of you going on.
Starting point is 00:25:45 Oh, hey, let me run your back. Wait, don't tell the chat about sports, beach and can. Hey, well, anyway, anyway, chat, I had the opportunity to go to the sport beach, go to cans, cans, cans, all the big brands, the CMOs, the CEOs. I had the opportunity to speak on panels about branding, about marketing, how the Ocho Synco name came about. It was very, very interesting. I think the chat, you guys might not even know the story where Ocho
Starting point is 00:26:18 Synco came about, but I'm going to just tell you real quick. The name change happened, I think it was 2007, if I'm not mistaken. We were playing that Atlanta Falcons. Carson Palmer had this idea. You should change your last name. This is how it all started. The Ultra Cinco thing didn't come from me. Carson Palmer said, it would be really funny
Starting point is 00:26:37 if you change your name to Ochencai Cinco because the month of September is Spanish Heritage Month in the NFL. I'm like, ah, that don't make no sense. And it doesn't fit the nameplate. It was the name was too long So I was like, you know what? I went to my equipment man who was Rob Rucker at the time and I told Rob to put the Velcro over the C Johnson and I'm gonna put Ocho Cinko on there and go out and pregame warm up warm up and then have Carson rip it off Before kickoff boom. I I do it I go out
Starting point is 00:27:06 there with the OJ single before we play Michael victim right before kickoff Carson Palmer rips the nameplate off boom we go back to watch the film Monday morning I have a FedEx envelope in my locker I got fined by the NFL NFL fined me $50,000 for altering the NFL uniform. So what do I do? Like any other player, I appeal to fine. The NFL upheld the fine. So they took $50,000 out of my check. So to piss the NFL off, I said, you know what?
Starting point is 00:27:34 I'm gonna wait till the season end and I'm gonna change my name on purpose as a FU to the NFL. To piss them off. Now put that last name on all my jerseys since you want to take my 50 grand. And that is how the brand and the marketing strategy behind Ultra Single came about. I didn't really think about it long term and I didn't really have a vision like it turned into now. But it's more a jab back to the NFL and it turned into something big that is still going very, very well to this day. And I just want to thank Roger Goodell for pissing me, you know, for pissing me off.
Starting point is 00:28:09 Who I am, who I am today. And outside of that, I just met some great people, great CEOs, CMOs sat down, had a lot of conversations, understanding how the business works on how deals get done. Deals get done out there in Kansas. It was phenomenal. I got to see Kevin Hart's Netflix special that's coming out very soon. I thought it could be the same material, but it was brand new. It was brand new material, brand new set. You guys are gonna enjoy that. A lot of people have been up and down about
Starting point is 00:28:38 about Kevin Hart and his comedy, but he was, it was funny. It was funny. And he's always been funny to me. Some people, you know know complain so much about him not being the same everybody Yeah, you can't hey, but listen, but when I tell you funny, I don't want to I don't want to spoil nothing or ruin the jokes No, but he funny in real life though, man, you know been around him a little bit I went to his place to see his uh, his car. I Like him. Yeah hard work. mean, he's a hard, he a hard worker, you know what, man. He deserves everything that he gets.
Starting point is 00:29:10 He work his ass off. Hey, he talks about a certain individual that is a superstar player in his respective craft. And I don't know if they friends or not. I don't know if it was a, that was part of the joke or if he told the person ahead of time that I'm gonna make funny in my show. Right.
Starting point is 00:29:29 Boy, you talking about personal? Toe him up. Yeah. Listen, toe him up the whole show in certain parts. Right. Hey, I mean, listen, when it comes out, y'all will see it. You'll understand what I'm talking about. I don't want to ruin it.
Starting point is 00:29:47 But it was good. It was good. All right, guys, it's time for our final segment of the evening. It's time for Q&A. Whoop. Whoop. Whoop.
Starting point is 00:29:55 Whoop. Whoop. Whoop. Dr. Frank L. Bellamy said, hey fam, glad to see you back, Ocho. We missed you. No, we didn't. I missed you. No, we didn't. I missed you.
Starting point is 00:30:06 I missed you. I missed you. I missed you. I missed you. Harim Abdulawan, he said, what's good, Nightcap Shen, I wanted to ask you, did you ever watch Fred Williamson and Carl Weathers play football before they turned actors?
Starting point is 00:30:21 If so, were they any good? Fred Williamson's name was the hammer. Um, and I think you can understand why he got that, that, that nickname. Um, I don't, I don't, I just saw highlights. I don't, I don't remember them. I don't remember, uh, Fred Williams or Carl Weathers playing, but I just saw clips of, uh, uh, Fred Williamson and he was, his nickname was the hammer. So.
Starting point is 00:30:47 clips of Fred Williamson and his nickname was the hammer. So, as a defensive back and they call you the hammer, that's it. Yeah. That's it. Oh, Joe, glad to have you back, bro. I'm glad you had a good time. Glad you got an opportunity to go over there and mingle and to see how this thing works. You know, it's not easy, man. You know, you meet with a lot of people and sometimes if you can just, you meet with 15, if you can just get 10, 15% of those deals to close. That's success.
Starting point is 00:31:14 And you know how I am, you know me, and people in the chat, if you met me before in person, if you met me before in person, you know how I react to you when I see you and I act like I don't know you 30 years. I don't surprise some of the people. They're like, man, what the hell? They could have had a hundred meetings and I swear for God, those higher people, those high execs, those CEOs, they could have had a hundred meetings. I guarantee you there's one
Starting point is 00:31:42 person they remember when they leave there. Just off, me just being authentic, authentically me. Starting point is 00:35:37 Hi, I'm Sarah Spain, host of Good Game with Sarah Spain, and the co-author of the new book, Runs in the Family, an incredible true story of football, fatherhood and belonging written with and about Las Vegas Raiders running backs coach Dylan McCullough. It's the story of a football coach and father of four who sees his life forever changed by the unsealing of his adoption records. And it's got a twist you won't believe. Based on the viral ESPN story I did a few years ago, this book will blow your mind and bring you to tears.
