Starting point is 00:00:00 This is an iHeart Podcast. Niners, Jawan Jennings wants a new deal or a trade. He's scheduled to make 7.5 million in his final year of his deal. That's it? It marks the second straight summer. You got to understand, Ocho, he was the third receiver. Remember, they had Debo there. They had Brandon Iyuk. They gave Debo the deal first.
Starting point is 00:00:23 They got Brandon Iyuk last year. So you're the third receiver. You know, hey, you're not gonna get that many targets. Hey, that's pretty good Seven and a half million for a third receiver. But he said nah, I ain't the third receiver no more Huh? How about we pay him for all those time Christian McCaffrey? All them times Christian McCaffrey made some of those long runs, you know who sprung him open? Oh Yeah, come on now. He's one of the best blocking Caffrey made some of those long runs. You know who sprung him open? Oh, yeah. Come on now. He's one of the best blocking runners. Come on now. Let's reward young Bull for all for the dirty work that people don't get to see.
Starting point is 00:00:53 I agree. It marks the second straight summer. The 49ers are in a situation where receiver wants to be paid or traded. Last year it was Brandon Ayute. Jennings has approached the 49ers about the request but little progress has been made. If a new deal is not reached by the time training camp starts next week, Jennings plans to request a trade to a team willing to pay him. At this time of year Ocho ain't no team willing to trade. You got to be careful doing that too. You know you got you be find yourself. You got to be careful doing that too. You know, you got- You beat by yourself on the street, get the minimum contract. That's no disrespect to him, but you got to be able to pull that off, you know, them
Starting point is 00:01:32 type of shenanigans, you got to be that boy. Now I'm not saying, he's very, very good at what he does. Very, very good at what he does in that system. But you have to understand, look at the landscape of the NFL. Look at the other teams and see where you would fit in. We will still be able to contribute the way that you did here in San Fran, because everybody else is already set. If you think about it, everybody has their one, two and threes already.
Starting point is 00:01:57 You know, we just had a draft. So you have to, you got to be careful and say, you know what? Okay. You know what? I don't want to be here no more. I don't want to be no more. OK, but where am I going? Hey, we'll see that. Hey, you see what it do, Ocho, if I work at a fast food restaurant,
Starting point is 00:02:12 I'm waiting to the busiest time, the business time between what? 11 and one. Hey, y'all give me a razor. I'm up out here. I don't know who can cook these fries. Hey, what? How about I make it 13? I need 16 an hour. Well, I'm sorry we can't do that, okay? Yeah. Hey, but one thing about it, on that run, on that run, they had that, I'm going to call it historic season, because it was, to me, when they played the Chiefs, Jawan Denin was
Starting point is 00:02:39 phenomenal. When Brandon Iyuku went out, when Deebo was hurt, you know who was making those plays and making those catches? Jawan Jennings. Yeah, that was last year, Ocho. I'm gonna ask you, I'm tripping, I'm sorry, I'm sorry. You know who was making them plays? Jawan Jennings.
Starting point is 00:02:51 Yeah. So he showed, he showed not only can he block. 77 catches. Not only can he block, he can catch and make plays too. Yeah, for sure. Yeah, I like him. I like him too. But I just don't know Ocho with the money they just paid
Starting point is 00:03:08 Purdy, the money they got tied up in McCaffrey, the money they got tied up in Kittle, the money they got tied up in Bosa, the money they got tied up in Fred Warner, the money they got tied up in Williams, Big Trent. Ocho, I just...
Starting point is 00:03:24 Oh no, you could do something because you ain't paying me no set me, ain't paying me no set me, not them peanuts. No disrespect to those that are watching in the chat, I'm speaking in football NFL terms. Peanuts, come on now. Hey son, can you give us one more year like that? And they gonna play with you again.
Starting point is 00:03:43 They gonna play with you again. They're gonna play with you again. Man. Nah, they won't play with him, Ocho. They just know that, okay, we gonna be able to pay him. And plus the thing is they got Pearsall, right? Isn't that the guy they got? The guy from Florida, he ended up getting shot and he came back and he played well down the stretch, Ocho.
Starting point is 00:04:04 So I can see a full training camp under his belt Yeah, I like it. I like it. I like you on Jennings, too Yeah The Steelers are favored in only six of their 17 games this upcoming season week one minus three at the Jets Week two Seattle Seahawks at home minus one and a half. Week six, the Browns minus six and a half. Week nine, the Colts minus three and a half.
Starting point is 00:04:32 Week fifteen, the Dolphins minus two and a half. Week seventeen, at the Browns minus two and a half. Should Vegas be giving Aaron Rogers more respect? I mean, Vegas is going to base everything off the Aaron Rogers we saw last year., Vegas is gonna base everything off the Aaron Rodgers we saw last year. Vegas going to base everything off the Aaron Rodgers we saw last year.
Starting point is 00:04:50 Now what I do know what we're gonna get is we're gonna have games where Aaron Rodgers looks like Aaron Rodgers of old. Then we're gonna have games, you'd be like, man, what the hell was that? That's just the nature of the business as you get older as a quarterback. We're going to have flashes of brilliance. We're going to have flashes of that's why he's a four time MVP. But then you're going to have some games where you're going to be like, man, what the hell was that?
Starting point is 00:05:15 Yes. And he's not in a position anymore with this type of quarterback that can elevate the players around him. He's going to need the players around him to elevate him and make his job easy. It's happened to all of them. And I'm old enough to remember them because the player, the quarterback used to get elevate the players. They say rising tide, you know, raises all shifts.
Starting point is 00:05:38 And that's what the really great quarterback can do. They can elevate everybody around them. But as they started to get older, they needed the players around them. But as they started to get older, they needed players around them to lift them up. So, cause guess what? Now I need a lot of both. So in other words, you go back and study history. Look at the guys, look at Peyton and look at Tom
Starting point is 00:05:59 and look at all those guys as they started to get older, guys that have won multiple MVPs, guys that have won multiple MVPs, guys that have won multiple Super Bowls, look what it took. Yeah. Look at Tom in Tampa. Look at the defense he had. Look at Chris Godley. Look at Mike Evans.
Starting point is 00:06:15 Look at what they had. Let's be real. Look at, look at Peyton. He got to Denver. Look what they had. They had Decker. They had Julius Thomas. They had Demarius Thomas. Rest his soul. the as the quarterbacks quarterbacks got older, you know, Joe, Joe, hey, it it take it just takes more.
Starting point is 00:06:47 The guy that you just can't do it. It doesn't have, you know, it is what it is. And I think the thing is, is that when you see that you understand it and uh, they're looking at like, yeah, he ain't, he don't have that Eagles ain't he best defensive player is I need the offensive line. Mostly if that whatever I need the offensive line but your best defensive player is unhappy with the contract. TJ Y. Hey, you know they they got
Starting point is 00:07:34 Jaylen Ramsey over there. Joey Porter Jr. Hold on. Yeah. Um are they going for it? Hey, what that defense going to be nice, boy? Hey, Jaylen Ramsey. So, what that defense going to be nice, boy. Hey, Jaylen Ramsey. So what are you going to do? Are you going to put Jay Ram in safety? Oh, shoot. That's a good question.
Starting point is 00:07:52 No, no, no, no, no, no. I think you're going to have Jay Jay. Damn. What are they going to do? So now you got me thinking you got Joey Porter. He stand on one side. So where's Slay gonna go? Slay might move to safety? I think all things being equal,
Starting point is 00:08:12 I think Jalen Ramsey can transition because I think he can transition to safety better than those other two guys can. And then when they go three wides, he can go out and dare Slay can go to the nickel. He can jump down the slide and put Slay well. Okay, okay, I like go, and then when they go three wides, he can go out and dare. Slate can go to the nickel. He can jump down the slider, put Slate. Yeah. Okay. Okay.
Starting point is 00:08:28 I like that. I like that. Either way it go, when the Steelers play the Bengals, we know what's going to happen. They still going to get this work. They still going to get this work. You think so? Yeah, absolutely. And this, I love, I love Slate. I love Joey Porter Jr. too.
Starting point is 00:08:39 I love Jalen Ramsey. But when you play the Bengals, and this is to all my Steelers fans that are watching, as much as I love y'all because I sure loved you and youalen Ramsey, but when you play the Bengals and it's the all my Steeler fans that are watching as much as I love y'all because I sure loved you and you sure loved the me but we we're gonna get we're gonna get in. You know what I bet you doing a lot
Starting point is 00:08:54 of talking you doing the kind of talking last year too. We beat we beat the Steelers. Okay, I'm just letting you know we're gonna beat him again and we're gonna start the season five and oh. That's that's been our Achilles here. Have y'all and we're going to start the team at the end of the season, sitting there by the goddamn Jumbotron hoping they somebody else will win the game.
Starting point is 00:09:25 Hoping and praying. Hoping and praying. Hoping and praying. That won't be us this year. And Dominic Su officially announces his retirement. How will Su career be remembered? Dominant. He was a dominant force.
Starting point is 00:09:42 He was a dominant force. He had he had some he had some hiccups, you know? He had some hiccups on the field, you know? We all have, you know? They tried to coin him as a dirty player, you know? I mean, he bought it on himself a little bit, but boy, hey. Yeah, I ain't gonna say, he wasn't the cleanest player.
Starting point is 00:10:05 Yeah, but one thing about it, man, he could go, man. He could go, man. He was tough, man. Good dude, man, real good dude. I'm surprised, Ocho, watching him at the University of Nebraska. He was one of the most dominant players, and I'm old enough to remember Warren Sapp
Starting point is 00:10:22 when he came out. I'm old enough to remember, I remember Reggie White when he came out, although he was at the University of Tennessee and he ended up going to, he went to the USFL first, I think he went to Memphis, the showboats before he came into the NFL. I thought in Dominic Insu, I am shocked that he didn't win defensive player of the year. If you watched him in college, he was dominant beyond dominant. You watched him against that Texas game. And I've seen some defensive players.
Starting point is 00:10:53 And like I said, I'm a year younger behind DT Rest Your Soul. DT had what, 27 sacks in 11 games, but at the time they didn't chart sacks as a stat in the NCAA. So I think Suggs has the record with 24, but DT had a little 27 sacks. Sue had that kind of season He was a deep defensive tackle. That's crazy That's crazy. Oh I remember calling my homeboy bucket. I said bucket man. They got this dude out here named Adamakin Sue from Nebraska He said man, what a name I said, Bucket man, they got this dude out here named Adama Kinsue from Nebraska. He said, oh man, what is that?
Starting point is 00:11:25 I said, Adama Kinsue. And he cut, hey, and he like a double-edged sword. He cut an ass left and right. Bad, bad, hey. And I think, Ocho, you're right, I think, because he was a dominant player, but I think his play got overshadowed by some of his antics.
Starting point is 00:11:51 And for me, you know, there's that fine line. I think there's like, man, if you meet him off the field, I had a conversation with him, I had him on the par, I had a conversation with him, and he's just like, so mild mannered. Boy, man, he put a helmet on? Hey. Like, bro, who you?
Starting point is 00:12:15 He turns into something, you know. Yes, yes. And I guess that's what, you know, defensive players, that's what they have to be that way. But man, he was a pro bowler. I think he went to what, three, four pro bowls? I can't remember how many. I think some injuries might have hampered him towards the end of his career.
Starting point is 00:12:34 I think his back. Yeah, he ended up, you know, he had the Lions and then he went and got that big contract from the Dolphins. And then it kind of from there, he got released and they kind of bounced around. He went to the Rams, he went to the Bucks, went to, I think he finished his career in Philly. Think about this. There was a time where Aaron Donald and Dominic Su
Starting point is 00:12:57 was on the same defensive line, man. Yeah. And stop playing. And if you go back and look at Aaron Donald tape when he was at Pitt, And stop playing. Stop playing. Stop. If you go back and look at Aaron Donald Tate when he was at Pitt and you go back and look at Sturdy and Donald, and Dominic Kinsue was just as dominant, if not more dominant than Aaron Donald was at the University of Pitt. Go back and look at it and look at Dominic Kinsue, Tate.
Starting point is 00:13:18 Hey, like a man amongst boys out there, man. Man amongst boys. He's a massive. I mean, for AD to do what he does at his size, because AD's not a big man. I mean, he big in terms of normal. Ocho, so you and I, we look at like, he's not like, football players, like,
Starting point is 00:13:36 nah, he's not that big. And people won't understand that, when you see him play on the field, and he's so dominant, and if you see him in person, you be like, you was doing that? I remember the first time I saw him, they're like, man, and I'm looking at him like, damn, that's the one that be cutting hair like that?
Starting point is 00:13:53 Yeah, a strong as an ox. Quick as, hold on, matter of fact, just to give for people in the chat, and I'm not trying to be funny, I'm not making no joke, Aaron Donald's feet are just as quick as some of the receivers in NFL. Just to give you a better context
Starting point is 00:14:14 on how quick and fast and twitchy he is, not that big, but when it comes to technique, man, stop playing. And then he's strong as hell. Oh yeah, I mean he could do it all. Everything. He could turn speed to power, he could bend the edge, he could bully you, he could crush your face.
Starting point is 00:14:34 I mean Aaron Donald was the total package. Nope. I mean you look at a guy, and what it was Ocho, is that people looked at him and because of his stature, they're like, nah, boy, 10 years in the league, eight times first team all pro, three defensive players a year, 10 pro bowls, a rookie of the year. At a Super Bowl, I can make a case he could have easily been Super Bowl MVP, Ocho. Oh, especially ruining the last play for us to get a first down.
Starting point is 00:15:08 If you go back, Ocho, no. But what about the play that he stopped him on third down? He stopped him. He split the double team. Oh, because the goddamn guard didn't crash down. Common sense. That's football 101. How you open up and you see 80 right there. The only common I
Starting point is 00:15:29 know is the what the rapper out of Chicago. That's the only common I know that other thing that you you talk about and I know the book by Thomas Payne common sense but other than that, I think when it's all I think you have to make a case for him. He's one of the three or four best defensive players in NFL history. All time. All time. Yes, for sure.
Starting point is 00:15:51 For sure. For sure. Because his resume, you look at his resume, the eight first team all-pro, there haven't been very many guys that's been an eight time first team all-pro. You got to go back to LT. He might be the only one for a defensive player. Hold on. Not only a defensive player, we talk about interior lineman. We talk about a D tackle. Takes on a double team.
Starting point is 00:16:13 Yes. Most of the goddamn time. Yeah. Yep. Yep. I think you got to look like first team all pros is looking at like LT. I think LT got eight in his first ten years He got three defensive players the year where LT jumps all the defensive players that he has a league MVP I don't think we'll ever see that again. So I think they're safe. I think Alan page and LT I think they're gonna go down as the only two defensive players to win MVP unless somebody gets unless somebody get 25 26 sacks Ocho. I just don't see how with the quarterback because think about what you do Ocho
Starting point is 00:16:52 If we add another game what that means a quarterback gets an opportunity throw more touchdowns He gets an opportunity to throw for more yards. So Peyton Manning threw for what 5,400? What if a quarterback throw for 5,800? How you gonna give somebody the MVP over quarterback to throw for 5,800 yards and 60 touchdowns? Even if the defensive player has 25, 26 touchdowns. I don't know. We might be looking at another defensive player,
Starting point is 00:17:18 even though he's a rookie coming out, that might put together some type of Lawrence Taylor type performance Until my trap oh You talk about the guy who Penn State listen he's 56 so He got his work cut out boy LT was also defensive rookie of the year and defensive player of the year in his rookie season. People don't, see, like I said, I'm old enough to remember.
Starting point is 00:17:50 People don't realize how good LT was. They don't, I remember. I was young, but my grandfather helped me get a better understanding. Until I understood and learned the game, and I was like, okay, and saw the film. Oh, this is why Bill Belichick was always raving about LT. Still to this day, I get it.
Starting point is 00:18:15 Because he could do it all, he made two positions famous. No other player in the history of the game has made two positions famous. He made the left tackle famous, he made the rush linebacker famous. I like it. I like it. I like it.
Starting point is 00:18:35 I mean, without LT, you don't have a DT. You don't have a Vaughn Miller. You don't have a TJY. Those guys are theMarcus Ware, Ashawn Merriman. That's DT, that's LT. And then the left tackle, the left tackle, the Trent Williams,
Starting point is 00:18:54 the guy that you see now, he made that position famous. Because if you couldn't block LT, you could not win the NFC East. And you got to the playoffs, that's why Minnesota they wouldn't got Gary Zimmerman. And they wouldn't got Herb Eatman. And they got to the playoffs. That's why Minnesota they went got Gary Zimmerman and they went got Herb Eatman and they got Lachey and they got Jacobi. You couldn't block LT. You couldn't beat the Giants. Hell, wait a minute. Who was on the other side? Carl Banks.
Starting point is 00:19:17 Carl Banks. And they had Harry Carson. They had Harry Carson. They had Van Pelt, Brad Van Pelt. the he's going to check he won't big physical. Look at his linebackers. Yeah. Big and physical. Two gaps. Hold it. Hold it. Willie McGinnis. Hold it. Yeah. Yes. Yes. You go back and look. Look at Pepper. Look at Carl Banks. Look at LT.
Starting point is 00:20:03 Look at Harry Carson. Look at his lineman. They play a three four defense. Big Jim Burt. look at the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the
Starting point is 00:20:12 the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the
Starting point is 00:20:20 the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the once he got a he got a what's the guy name? Who that? Ocho? Reba. Yeah. And he had Stefan Gilmore play a lot more run. But Coach Belichick based it is he'll cover two guys.
Starting point is 00:20:31 Keep everything in front of me. And listen and I'm taking I'm taking away your number one option. You might as well take the day off. Whoever the number one option is, take the day off. Whoever the number one option is, take the day off. Ocho, CBS Fantasy Football dropped their wide receivers tier rankings. A tier one, Jamar Chase, Justin Jefferson, CD Lamb. Tier two, Pooka Nakua, Malik Neighbors, Nico Collins, Armin Roth, St. Brown, tier three. You have Brian Thomas, Jr., AJ Brown, Drake London, tier four, T Higgins,
Starting point is 00:21:12 Lad McConkey, Tyreek Hill, Rashid Rice, Devonte Adams. Hold on. And what the fuck? Oh, I'm sorry. God forgive me, because I just got to say, I just got to say that I just got baptized two weeks ago because the last one was wearing off. And what world is Tyreke a tier for in anything? Let's just start there. In anything. Now, what I don't like about the tier rankings is, it's not enough receivers in the tier
Starting point is 00:21:41 one. How do they choose that? It has to be at least five, but there are at least five receivers. I guess they're saying fantasy. Oh, okay, okay. Nevermind, nevermind, nevermind. Nevermind. Yeah, that's different.
Starting point is 00:21:52 So fantasy is hard for me to kind of digest, you know, taking it serious because fantasy is week to week. It's week to week You know, you never know who's gonna go off now Obviously you have your main you have your main bulls that gonna get opportunities to make sure they get you your numbers But you just never know man fantasy is a very very difficult very very difficult It is it's 50% luck and 50% making sure you had the right players It's 50% luck and 50% making sure you had the right players. But I mean, if Malik Nabors put up the numbers he put up, I think they should put a bit a little better even with Russ.
Starting point is 00:22:31 Although Russ is not what he was in Seattle, I still think he's better than what they were throwing to him last year. But this is the good thing about it, is you got Russell Wilson, right? Even if he's not what he once was in Seattle, he has a player around him that is elite, that can raise his level of play. Yeah. Wait a minute. You mean I got, I got another uno out here that makes my job easy? All I have to do is get him the ball, put the ball in the vicinity. Short, intermediate, long, boy Malik Nabi could do it all, man. Malik Naby could do it all, man.
Starting point is 00:23:03 You can. Who you got? Ohio, what's why I receive a U? LSU or Ohio State? Listen, listen, at one point it was Alabama. Alabama was running the show. Ohio State stole it for a little bit, but boy LSU done took over. They running with a nine.
Starting point is 00:23:25 They got like a four by one. Every time you turn around, it's another one. Brian Thomas Jr. Man, they cutting the fool, man. And I don't think people understand how good Brian Thomas Jr. is. I think it's because he's in Jacksonville. But if you're watching me,
Starting point is 00:23:43 if you're watching me rookie year, matter of fact, I didn't say his name enough time. Just watch. You'll see. No, he's special. Absolutely. Yeah. Like you said, Ocho is they're looking at like, uh, scoring things like that. So, okay. But Devante,, I mean, if Devontae gonna be in Tier 4, he should be up higher, considering he got Matthew Stafford. Well listen, he got Matthew Stafford,
Starting point is 00:24:10 but also look what they did to Cooper Cup. Because Pukin' the Cool was getting all the opportunities. So just with that addition of Devontae Adams being there, how is Sean McVeigh gonna use him? Or are they gonna still put Pukin' the Cool in all the positions to get all the goddamn balls. Well the thing was, Ocho, if you go back and study, look at Cooper Cupp hadn't been the same since he had that historic season.
Starting point is 00:24:33 When you catch that many balls over the course of a season, think about how many passes he caught. He caught for 147 in the regular season. Goddamn. So, okay, if you catch 147, that means they got to throw you at least 200 balls. Now think about how many calls in the postseason. He was never the same. Hey, can you imagine?
Starting point is 00:24:56 Hey, can Ash hear me? Ash, what's the most catches I've had in the season? I've never hit over 100. I wonder what my numbers would look like. Somebody in the chat, somebody in the chat that's really good at numbers, right? Look at my best statistical career and how many catches I had in quick. You were the explosive, you were the catch guy.
Starting point is 00:25:20 You'd have five catches, 130 yards. That's what you were. You weren't a guy that catch 10, 12, 13 passes. That's not what you were. You are down to field threat. Deep threats ain't gonna happen. Every once in a while, you'll get a guy that's a deep threat, especially in your era.
Starting point is 00:25:36 Now, now it's different. You look at Tyreek deep and having 115, 120. It wasn't like that. Hey, I wonder what it would look like. What if I had 147 catches? I wonder what my numbers would be for, I'm not going to be deep and having 115 120. It wasn't like that. Hey, I wonder what it would look like. What if I had 147 catches? I wonder what my numbers would be for. Let's just
Starting point is 00:25:51 say my best season. What did it get you that many catches? Oh, you're not going to be. You're not going to have no 14 or 15 yards per catch average. You do realize all of the bubble screens. That'd be like 2500 yards and stuff. Yeah, I don't
Starting point is 00:26:03 I don't like them screens. I don't know. You try to you tried to came for 2300 yards. 97 is the most catch that I ever had. But I was a yard is monster. I don't know if that makes sense. Yeah. Some people, that's what I was. I had yards. I wasn't a touchdown guy.
Starting point is 00:26:24 You look at Gonzo, you look at Gates, you look at like Trav or Gronk. Yeah. I'm going down the field. I'm gonna have a hundred. I'm gonna get the yardage on. Just think about it. 147?
Starting point is 00:26:41 Man, I would have had about 3,000 yards, man. I could be honest with you, that was a weakness of mine. All them bubble screens and all that, like bubble screens and, nah, man, don't do that to me. I need to be running forward. I don't want nobody running at me. Yeah. No, no, no, no, no, no, I ain't trying to do all that.
Starting point is 00:27:02 That's a lot of pounding. That's a lot of hits. No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, Not really. It wasn't guys try to push the ball down the field. Now you got to run and shoot, you know, but that went away because your quarterback was getting getting getting blasted. So they got out of the running shoe because they were tearing the quarterback ass up. My most I had eighty seven in 1994 and. And I missed I missed a couple of games with Ocho had sprained knee.
Starting point is 00:27:46 I'd have got a hundred that year. Got a hundred, would have got a hundred. I had 81. Yeah, 81. I had 81 in 93. I had 87. I had 80 in 96, 72. What I have in Baltimore?
Starting point is 00:28:04 What I have in Baltimore? I think I had 70 something in Baltimore. Damn. Okay, yeah, 60, 70, 73. Well, y'all didn't even really throw the ball. Y'all had Jamal Lewis. No, you didn't have Jamal Lewis. Who the running back was?
Starting point is 00:28:23 Yeah, Jamal was there. I got there in 2000. Jamal got there in 2000. Jamal Lewis, them bigall had Jamal Lewis. No, you didn't have Jamal Lewis. Who the running back was? Yeah, Jamal was there. I got there in 2000. Jamal was the rookie. Jamal Lewis, them big ass shoulder pads, man. I bet there ain't no way you can get through a doorway with them big ass shoulder pads on. And you know, when I was in Denver, we didn't throw the ball like that,
Starting point is 00:28:35 not with TD back there. Oh, no. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah. TD back. Damn. Vegas released their Brown starting quarterback odds to start week one. Joe Flacco minus 102. Kenny Pickett plus 200. Shadour Sanders plus 870. Dylan Gabriel plus 500.
Starting point is 00:28:59 Ocho, who you putting your money on to start week one? I mean, you know Joe Flacco start. Unless he gets injured in training camp or something like that, or gets injured in the preseason. I doubt he plays much of the preseason, but we're going to get a great sample size of Shadoura season in the preseason. A great sample size. Now the job of Joe Flacco is to lose. Understand the business.
Starting point is 00:29:21 If you watch the game long enough, you know how it's going to play out. No disrespect to Kenny Pickett, no disrespect to Dillian Gabriel. We know Shadoura Sanders is going to be the one to step in the helm and run the show once things don't work out with Joe Flacco. But what Joe Flacco is going to give you, he's going to give you an amazing six, seven game stretch. I'm talking about an amazing six, seven game stretch. And all of a sudden
Starting point is 00:29:45 something will go wrong and when it does go wrong fans are gonna grow upset they're gonna grow leery they're gonna hear from the crowd the news the media gets into it and then it's gonna be the Shador Sanders show all I know is that when I was a rookie I mean I couldn't wait to play because the fans don't want to play in the preseason because they don't want to run the risk of getting hurt. Well, the only way I was going to be able to show what I can do is to get in the game. Hey, that preseason, people buying for jobs, boy, that's a resume right there, boy. You filling out your resume.
Starting point is 00:30:18 When you touch that field in the preseason, boy. Because it's like summer league and basketball. All those guys in summer league. What? because it's like summer league and basketball. All those guys in summer league. Oh, they're only a handful of jobs. Yeah. In preseason, all these guys,
Starting point is 00:30:37 they're only a handful of jobs for the most part. They know who's going to make that roster except are here or there. You get a Shannon Sharp or you get a Terrell Davis. You'll get a Rod Smith. You'll get a Wes Welker. You'll get a Shannon Sharpe or you get a Terrell Davis, you'll get a Rod Smith, you'll get a Wes Welker, you'll get a John Randall, you'll get a few guys that just like, we got to find a place. Even if he doesn't start week one, we got to find a place to keep him on the roster.
Starting point is 00:30:53 Absolutely, especially if you're a special teams guy too. You know, sometimes you find a gym, like a gym. Yeah, man. Yeah, and so I just hope to get a little, hey, this is your opportunity. This is a job. That's the job interview. Absolutely. I'm putting on my, hey, Ocho, I'm putting on my best, I'm putting on my best blues navy
Starting point is 00:31:16 suit collar shirt. I'm putting on my best and I'm going to work. I'm going to do great on this job. I know what, I already know the questions he's going to ask. I'm going to do great on this job. I know what I already know the questions he's going to ask. I've been studying a lifetime. They're going to be all right, man. They're going to be all right. We've got Jerry and Joku.
Starting point is 00:31:38 Damn, who on the other side? Judy or Joku? Who on the other side of Jerry or Judy? She don't start me to lie. Hey, Chad, who's who's the other receiver on the other side of Jerry Judy? And Mr. Brown, man, Jerry Judy going for 1800 this year, man. But boy, if he go for 1800 with the quarterbacks right there, Ocho. Jerry, Judy. Because you got to realize, ain't a whole lot of 1800s ever been had.
Starting point is 00:32:09 Okay, okay, 1500, 1500. Jerry going for 1500 this year. Ocho, it ain't been but about five of them 1800 receiver yards in the history of the NFL. I just threw that number out there. 1500. But that's a, hey, you do realize that's an ass ton of yards, right?
Starting point is 00:32:28 It is, it is. Listen, it ain't an ass ton of the way they throw the ball today now. Now 1500, 1500, 1500 in our day, now that meant something. That meant something. Yeah, but because 1500 back in your day, there wasn't a whole lot of hundred catches to go along with that.
Starting point is 00:32:45 Bro, you got to realize, my brother went back to back. He was the first to go back to back with 100 catch seasons. The record was 106. He broke it with 108 and then followed up the next year with 112. Now it's 149. That's crazy. That's crazy. that's crazy. Yeah. I think Herman Moore had to record at like 123 and then Marvin broke it at 142. I remember and then uh the guy at uh the New
Starting point is 00:33:22 Orleans, he broke it with 149 and I remember uh I remember Herman Moore and Johnny Morton, man. It was they were nice. Yeah. Yeah. Johnny Morton. They had a Brett Pearman. Wait, Brett. Brett Pearman was there with him. with her. Oh, I was talking about what her. Oh, yeah. Oh,
Starting point is 00:33:44 you talk about what you talk about. What are you talking about? That was a three. It was Johnny Morton, Brett Perriman and Herman Moore. Not with Brett, with Johnny Morton there. Johnny might've been later. Okay, okay, okay. Okay. Who was the other receiver that was there? I'm trying to think, I'm trying to think.
Starting point is 00:34:08 Brett Pearman, you had Herman Moore, there was a third receiver. What was that guy's name? Oh, nah, he was in Seattle. It was somebody tall. Who, oh my goodness, I hate this I Can see the guy name I mean it just only took my time Yeah, I said I said Johnny
Starting point is 00:34:52 already. Herman Moore, Brett Pearman and Johnny Morton. Yep. Lead the team with 123. Uh Herman Moore had 123 reception 1686 yards and 14 touchdowns. Paramon had a strong season. He had 108 1488 9 touchdowns and Johnny Martin had 44
Starting point is 00:35:14 reception for 598. I bet Scott Mitchell was a quarterback. Yeah, he was. We had Scott Mitchell in Cincinnati. We had Scott Mitchell Gus. I think Johnny ended up. did Johnny, I think, did Johnny play with Kansas City? He went to the Chiefs, yeah. And when he retired, remember he went in MMA? Yeah, it didn't go too well though. It didn't go too well. Oh, yeah. That's a different mentality. Oh, yeah. That's a different And Caden Finley, he's the son of Joe Michael Finley.
Starting point is 00:36:09 Jerome Bettis' son there, Jerome Bettis II, a junior. He's there also. I don't know if he's in this, he might be there already. Somebody else is in that, who else is in that? Ryan Clarkson just left. Yeah. He just left. But I know this, they coming in next year, but I think Buzz Sun is already there. I think somebody else's son is there too.
Starting point is 00:36:26 Well, obviously, there are a lot of people's sons there, considering they got a roster. Because I know somebody that, hey, they got a bunch of sons there, but I'm talking about famous people that we know that played a professional sport. I'm trying to think. Damn, we getting old, Locho. Not think. Damn, we getting old, Locho. Not really.
Starting point is 00:36:50 You remember? We, we, we, we didn't get wiser. Yeah, we didn't, we didn't wiser. Which with with age come with them. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Hey, it's like, like as I, as I get old and as I age, I started look better because I was ugly. ugly. Yeah, and just I'm like I don't you were
Starting point is 00:37:07 You disagreed. Oh Plastico Burris his son is it no day. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay James Flanagan his dad played defense attacking for the Bears. That's dope Bryce young BY Play played the 49ers, his son is there. I think Brian Erlacher, isn't Brian Erlacher's son there or did he graduate? Brian Erlacher. Brian Erlacher's son with the Notre Dame? I don't know. Brian Ehrlich is with the Notre Dame.
Starting point is 00:37:48 Yeah. Yeah. I know that and that's crazy. I remember I remember we played the Bears one time. Why I ran like a **** over. What? No, that was. I remember because I Ehrlich, I won 54 and I remember I stepped right on his chest.
Starting point is 00:38:03 I stepped between the five and the four when I ran over him. Yeah, man, I never forget that game. It was that soldier field too. Kennedy Erlacher. He transferred to UFC. Damn. Man, I'm sitting here. I'm sitting here reading the chat.
Starting point is 00:38:37 Boy, these people funny. Boy, y'all funny, boy. What happened? They just laughing. The comments be funny. I like it. What happened? They just laughing. The comments be funny. I like it. I like that. Yeah, well I wanted to clarify
Starting point is 00:38:49 cause I'm like, hey, somebody's son go to Notre Dame. Yes, Shanna, there are a hundred players on the team. There are a lot of people's sons go to Notre Dame. I met somebody famous like, Larry Fitzgerald's son, Placeco Burrows son, Jerome Bettles. That's what I meant to say. Yo. Oh Joe, bleacher report drops their top 100 NBA players
Starting point is 00:39:10 of all time list. Number one, Michael Jordan. Number two, LeBron James. Number three, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. Number four, Magic Johnson. Five, Bill Russell. Six, Shaquille O'Neal. Seven, Tim Duncan. Eight, Larry Bird 8 Larry Bird 9 Will Chamberlain 10 Stephen
Starting point is 00:39:30 Curry 11 Kobe Bryant 12 Dream Elijah Wan 13 Kevin Durant 14 Oscar Robinson 15 Jerry West Shaq calls it criminal that Kobe wasn't ranked in the top team. Bleacher Report explained its reasoning. There is no question that for most of two decades he was among the very best players, but among the best and the best are two different things. Meanwhile, the players above him all had multi-year peaks in which they were clearly holding the belt. The lone exception may be Wilt, who had Bill Russell to contend with. Yes, sir.
Starting point is 00:40:12 Ocho, people seem to be upset that Kobe was not in the top 10. This is what I always tell people. If you put somebody, if somebody moves out, if somebody, if you're trying to move into the house, that means you have to move somebody out of moves out if somebody if you're trying to move into the house, that means you have to move somebody out of the house, but who you can move out. So who but it's this
Starting point is 00:40:34 is your area of expertise now. Look, this is look now I have my I have Lebron one but on Magic. That's why I had it. My top five, I'd have put Tim Duncan. But I'm saying, you look at Michael, multiple regular season MVPs, LeBron, multiple regular season MVPs, Kareem, multiple regular season MVPs, Kareem, multiple regular season MVPs, LeBron, multiple regular season MVPs, Kareem, multiple regular season MVPs, Magic, multiple regular season MVPs, Bill, multiple regular season MVPs.
Starting point is 00:41:16 So everybody in the top five, everybody in the top five has at least three regular season MVP. You know what, based on everything you just said, if you were to line up 100 people that were basketball fans and had a passion and love for the game, and you ask them the same question, the name they top five, you think they're gonna say the same name, you just. No, no, absolutely not. So it's different, is it? No, no, yes, absolutely, yes.
Starting point is 00:41:43 If you see how they got all the big spread out because people like big, you needed a guard to get you the ball. So you can't talk like you could bring the ball up. You look at Jordan Jordan can handle the ball. LeBron Magic clearly. Steph Curry, people like, hold on, y'all got Steph Curry over Kobe Bryant. Hey, well, that's what it looked like to me for my eyes. Steph Curry is 10 and Kobe is 11.
Starting point is 00:42:07 I don't understand, dog. Hey, I don't, oh my goodness. I think, look, I think from 96 to about 02, Shaq was clearly the best player on the Lakers. Yeah. Oh, during that during that dominant reign. Yes. During that reign. Absolutely. And that's not to say that's not to say Kobe wasn't a great player.
Starting point is 00:42:36 Two things can be true. You can be a great player, but not be the greatest player on your own team. And I think they look, I think they factored that in and I think that's why they ranked Shaq so high because Shaq run. He's like, yeah, we won. You know, we three-peated and Shaq won all three finals MVP. Now Kobe has some spectacular series in there. You go back and look at that series against Andy.
Starting point is 00:43:03 You look at the series against Sacramento, Colb had some runs now. Oh yeah. Hey, Kobe was so special, man. It's like, I, it's... You never gonna get a look. For the most part, I mean, people gonna say Michael, some of the younger generations gonna say LeBron.
Starting point is 00:43:24 I've always felt the guy that was the least that was the least appreciated was Kareem. I mean, he has the most regular season, MVP's got six. There's a great chance. Ain't nobody catching that. Great, great chance. That's not happening. Man, this is this is an unbelievable list. I mean, obviously, going to be here. Great. Great It is. It is. It it it has to but for me, Ocho, I think it's Eshton Stone. I don't think anybody's going to unseat Mike. I'm I think I'm I mean, there are a handful of us that got LeBron but for the
Starting point is 00:44:15 most part, I mean, Yoke is just still currently playing and and Steph is still playing. Katie is still playing. I mean, think about it. You still playing and you want to, you know, the top hundred players You still playing and you want to you know the top hundred players of all time and you still still currently playing. I'm trying to think what does what does KD have to do to crack the top ten? Candy Championship everybody in the top ten has a chip don't
Starting point is 00:44:39 they? Yeah everybody in the top five have multiple regular season MVPs. Michael has five, LeBron has four, Kareem has three, Kareem has six, Magic has three. Katie has MVP doesn't he? Just one? One regular season MVP, two finals MVP. Bill Russell has. Now when Russell was playing, with the exception of that last year, they didn't have finals MVP. The first year they had a finals MVP was 1969. And the finals MVP was the first and only time that a guy won that award from a losing team. Jerry West won it.
Starting point is 00:45:14 That's crazy. Now that's happened. That's happened in the NFL too, in the Super Bowl. Chuck Howley won the Super Bowl MVP. First and only time it's ever been done. They lost to the Colts 16-13. Wilt got the first high-scoring, two, three, I think the four high-scoring averages in the season. Ain't nobody catching that 50. Nobody's catching 48-44. They're not happening. The rebounds Ain't nobody catching that 50. Nobody's catching 48,
Starting point is 00:45:45 44. They're not happening. The rebounds ain't nobody gonna get 55 rebounds in a game. So you certain stuff they might just take the rebounds. Who's gonna get 24,000 rebounds in the career? Oh, Joe. Hey, that's unbelievable. That's almost unheard of to the fact you think it's not even real. The man have people, he has 25 rebounds. No, you have the next year he averaged 27. But this is a very, very good list. Absolutely. Absolutely.
Starting point is 00:46:18 Because you got Giannis, I mean, Giannis is down there. He has two regular season MVPs. You got Jokic, he has three regular season, if he peas and a finals MVP. Damn, that's a good ass list, though. Man, and I had that list. Tim Duncan is underrated. People don't get Tim Duncan credit. and and and and and
Starting point is 00:46:50 and and and and and and and and and I mean, there's certain positions that you don't really debate. Like two guard, everybody know when it comes to two guard, they're like, okay, it's Jordan.
Starting point is 00:47:10 Kobe, you go D Wade, Harden, whatever the case may be. But one and two is Kobe, it's Mike and Coles. Small forward is LeBron. Then you go KD Bird. Small forward is I still think Kobe should be hired. I just don't know who I'm not going to lie to you, and a twine he said on mind the game com podcast I think our gang games would have complimented each other well Michael was a flat-out scorer he was a scorer a scorer a scorer he had a scores mentality MJ was an inspiration Penny Hardaway was an inspiration to me Grant Hill was also an inspiration to me
Starting point is 00:48:18 growing up like that point forward Scottie Pippen like pity like Hill those are the kind of guys that inspired me because I wanted to be that point forward. Yeah, Michael Scorer, that was his mentality. Scorer to basketball. That's Kobe's mentality, scorer to basketball. Killer mentality. Yeah. Hey, look, look.
Starting point is 00:48:39 See, they believe the only way to win the game was, I gotta score, I gotta score 50, I gotta score 60, I gotta score whatever it needs to take to win. Now I'm gonna try to shut you down the other end because they took their challenge, they took their assignment. Oh, I got you, I got something for you. They took it upon themselves, I'm gonna score 40, but I'm gonna hold you below your normal.
Starting point is 00:48:58 Which took a lot of energy, they had to be in tip top shape. And if you look at the way those guys were built, you look at Mike, though he was wiry, I mean, don't look at him now those guys were built, you look at Mike though he was wire. I mean don't look at him now because obviously he's not working out like he was doing. He's living a great
Starting point is 00:49:11 life now. Uh yachts and private jets, cigars and hey, hey, Mike, I need to get you some of that uh shade by the portier but that being said, um Lebron Lebron games compliments anybody because he's a past first person. So if you want to score the basketball, he's going to get it to you.
Starting point is 00:49:27 I was just going to say that. LeBron is one of the few players. He's a more athletic Magic Johnson. LeBron can play in any era. He can play with any player. Let me fix that. He can play with any player. He just fits regardless of who it is based on his style of play.
Starting point is 00:49:42 If you're a big, Ocho, if you're a big, you love to play LeBron. If you Shaq, oh, he gonna give it to you. If you are a Wilt, he gonna give it to you. If you Elijah one, he gonna give it to you. Kareem, think about what, hey, Magic say, hey, cat, what you want it? Left or right? Throw it to my right.
Starting point is 00:49:59 I got it. Now it's time for our final segment of the evening. It's time for Q and A. Quintin May said, Ocho, I hear like stink meaner. What that is, Ocho? Stink meaner, I don't know what that mean. I don't know, I ain't never heard that before.
Starting point is 00:50:32 That must be some young folk lingo. Yeah, that's been past me. A dad from here said, Jalen top five. Jalen's been to a Super Bowl something. Josh Lamar and Herbert can't even smell and beat Pat. Let me know how Josh Lamar Herbert stopped letting Pat bust there. You know what?
Starting point is 00:50:55 And then talk to me. See, I told you I told you it's a great conversation piece and everyone will use their own personal preference on where to play everybody. That's why I say that. How is he not even in the top five? But obviously, when you look at the stats, you look at the numbers or the teams surrounding them, I think that's why they would do that. That's got to be the only reason the execs are thinking about. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:51:24 Squee said, I'm about to put together our fans with the jersey collection. I have Mike Evans and put Ocho on my other wide receiver looking for a sharp one on as well. My tight end is going to be crazy. I'm gonna use, I'm gonna put my Miami Beach jersey up. I got to put, get me a frame. I got to frame that.
Starting point is 00:51:43 I just, listen, it's been, I'm not sure how long you've had those jerseys, but I would like to hang them. I bought them! You can't even buy them! I got them. Tell me what the site is. I'm not going to be able to do that, Ocho. Unfortunately.
Starting point is 00:51:59 Hold on, but I'm just curious. Why did you buy a home and away jersey of my high school jersey? Piss you off. I do that we get it. See, Jeff and I about to pay your money, man. But I like the you are. Oh, you think I'm about to see your merchandise before you see me? But you think I'm seeing your money while you still hold on to my merchandise? All right. Tell you what I would do.
Starting point is 00:52:40 This goes out next week. Send me twenty five. OK, bet. Now we could do that. We could do that. A jersey go out the next week. Send me twenty-five. Okay, bet. Now, we can do that. We can do that. A jersey go out the following week. Send me another fifteen hundred. Okay, we can do that. Then another jersey goes out. I made another fifteen hundred. Okay, I got you.
Starting point is 00:52:56 And then the fun co goes out. You send me the last five hundred. Now, that's that's the type of business I like right there. Okay, Done deal. I like that. Lance Goodman 736 at Ocho. I can't let you talk about my Steelers like that.
Starting point is 00:53:09 So let's bet on both games. Make it loud on yourself. Bet the 5900. Hey Lance, what you mean? Baby how you gonna bet my money? That bet ain't made. How you you go back to paying my money? Oh, man, that was a good one. That was a good one, yeah. That was a good one. Kemper Noah Wood Jr. said, Ocho, my question is, what are your top three favorite card games to play. Not be talking, not be talking. Listen.
Starting point is 00:53:45 Uno spades and tongue, uno spades and tongue in no particular order. Don't invite me to your house, don't invite me to any family function, don't invite me to no picnic if you do not have spade, uno's or tongue game going on. Now you add dominoes. I'm there too. T real for the majority said, God bless nightcap fam. Love y'all. You guys keep my spirits high. My father recently passed away and I've been fighting for his estate. I'm scared, feel alone, but asking y'all for prayer if anyone can help or advice.
Starting point is 00:54:34 Well, first of all, our thoughts and prayers are sorry for your loss. My thoughts and prayers go out for you and your family and loved ones and everybody that's impacted by this loss. That's what I always tell people, have your affairs in order. Have whatever you have, where it's supposed to go,
Starting point is 00:55:17 how much of it's supposed to go, because man, I'm telling you, I've seen it. Brother, sister, sister, mom, mom. Mm-hmm. And it's always family, too, huh? It's always those closest to you. When money comes into play, man. And A, I'm going to give you a little advice advice my family ain't in charge of my state
Starting point is 00:55:47 mmm, I Want to I want somebody that's independent, right? Cuz I don't don't you think that you get more because X Y and Z. Nah It's it's a it's laid out so elaborately I'm not going to lie to you. that wanted me to have this. I pray it up and hopefully and I'm going going to do that. Oh, Jelly Roll. They're like the singer Jelly Roll with it at this thing. Jelly Jelly Roll
Starting point is 00:57:12 from the wrestler. man. Hey, that's dope. You want to do something you want to do you want to wrestle with me? Nah, if I'm going to fight, I gotta fight for real. I ain't I ain't doing I ain't going in there playing around Hmm, man, you love wrestling I wonder what I'm under with Debo at Are you on a rest of the boat Debo man? Hey you ever look at Debo just notice you got a punchable face I'm gonna be good. I'm gonna be good. I'm gonna be good. I'm gonna be good. I'm gonna be
Starting point is 00:57:47 good. I'm gonna be good. I'm gonna be good. I'm gonna be good. I'm gonna be good. I'm gonna be good. I'm gonna be good. I'm gonna be good. I'm gonna be good. I'm gonna be good. I'm gonna be good. I'm gonna be good. I'm gonna be good. I'm gonna be good. I'm
