Joe, Jonathan Camingo talked to the athletic about choosing Minnesota over the Lakers.
Not to come off as disrespectful, but I didn't feel like Los Angeles was the right environment for me.
There's a level of expectations outside, knowing surrounding the Lakers that can become distracting.
And I wanted a situation where I could stay focused on basketball and my development.
I felt Minnesota offered a better defensive fit and a clear role for me.
Ultimately, it was a better situation.
You like how the young man talking?
I do. I think he was honest and direct.
okay Ocho you got to take into the fact that you know if you go if he if Camiga goes to L.A., you know,
is he starting? I'm not sure. Maybe so. But you got you got Luke and A.R. who he's going to have
to be behind and those guys as far as defense, we've talked about them pretty much throughout the whole
entire season. You know what I'm saying? Ocho is as far as we know defensively, they're not going to be able
stop anybody. Now when you look at Minnesota, he probably put himself in the situation where he was like,
look I go to Minnesota.
They already got a couple defensive specialists.
They got a pass first point guard in Lamello,
and they got a dog at the two and Ed Ellwoods.
You know, yeah, I want to contribute.
I want to be a great piece to this puzzle.
And I think that's kind of where he looked at.
I think he looks like Minnesota will be a much better team
than probably the Lakers will be.
So him going to Minnesota going to be great.
I like how he spoke.
I like how he was direct,
and he betting on himself, bro.
It's going to be a hell of.
of a year. Minnesota going to make some noise, bro. They got the pieces, Ocho. They got the pieces,
bro. They got the point of. I'll tell you one thing. I know what he's not going to make no
noise. What? Open the night. Why he's saying that? They played the heat open the night.
Last thing, made the heat open the night. Guess it won't be caught side with his feet on the wood. What?
Huh? Oh, Joe. Ocho. Oh, Joe.
Guess it's going to be coarse out with the feet on the wood. Stop playing. Ocho, Ocho. You might say.
Hey, I'm going to be like Spike Lee. I'm going to be in Lamello and Anthony Evers head before the game.
even start, boy. You hit me?
Oh, Joe. Oh, Joe.
Pipe down to Turbo, I'm telling you.
Pipe down. The more coming
down to South Beach, they're coming to Miami.
And them boys still got some unfinished
business down there in Minnesota. What? No.
The unfinished business ain't for the
start at the Kasea Center. That's
what's not going to happen. You hear me?
Do you understand? Do you understand? I understand
how great Anthony Evans is. I understand
the wolves in general
are a good basketball team.
I get that.
But boy, week one, I think of the theater center, against the heat, man.
Clay is why Clay is here.
Hey.
Bank or do a Bam, do it.
Bam, my scope 40.
Nah, they ain't going to happen, Ocho.
Let me finish.
You know what's going to happen when the Greek freak coming down here.
Who y'all got to stop him?
Man, they got, they got, they got, they got, they got the McDaniels kid.
uh daniels jaden jane daniels he a defensive stop but he don't want to put them clamps on uh uh uh murray for
devil what you talking about that point i don't do nothing but sitting in the chair we him sitting in the
chair ain't fin the stop yon is coming down here man drop that shoulder man make it out my way what
you're talking about man man we own that he put who's going to stop man we even got today yeah
he ain't got no answer for that time out hey listen ant man is one of those players you don't try to
stop you just try to contain him he's going to over you're going to over you're going to
always get his. We worry about that.
But we're going to worry about everybody else.
He going to get in.
Ant man going to get his no matter what. That's what he does.
That's why he's one of the.
Y'all, y'all going to lose then.
If y'all let him get his, you're going to lose.
Nope.
No, we let him get his and we control everybody else.
What you're talking about?
And Mello.
Mello will be shooting the, Melo will hit by four by eight.
And Clay going to hit nine.
What you're saying?
No, they ain't going to have Ocho.
He's going to hit nine.
What are you saying?
He can hit a point for point.
You know what?
I come to the conclusion.
Joe don't know basketball like I do.
That's it.
That's the only thing I can think about.
Hey, listen.
I can't wait till basketball season to get here.
Because the one thing that you all that did wrong
is y'all let me get invested into the game,
having a better understanding,
not what I'm watching,
but being able to talk the game as well.
Huh?
Yeah.
Man.
Listen.
Listen.
Hey, I'm going to get y'all hair, boy, this season, boy, I'm telling you.
Hey, you got a chill, just chill, just chill, listen.
y'all got a nice squad ocho i like them but i like minnesota better bro minnesota gonna be tough man
they're gonna be tough ojo all right hey joe you're gonna piss me off go ahead get pissed off then
i'm just keeping it real bro don't get mad at me go keeping it real that's all we do it ojo we keep it real
listen listen listen i proved you last season that you don't know hoops the way i know hoops
i know you play the game i respect you seven time you know all start i get all that
Joe, but you don't know basketball the way I know basketball.
And I proved that last year, being right all season long, being right throughout the playoffs,
and you were always wrong.
What does I tell you?
That you don't have a knowledge of the game the way I do.
You don't see the game.
You might play the game, but your vision, long term, is nothing like mine.
And you know how you know I'm serious, Joe?
You know how you know I'm serious Joe?
I took my glasses off and I got one bad out.
I see.
That's how you know I ain't bulljab.
I see.
It's murky.
It's murky.
Oh, you know.
Can you see it?
Man, I thought it was overcast outside.
Hey, yeah, I can see.
You know I got my game plan.
Just keep circling to my left, which is to his right.
Yeah.
If I keep circling, when we, when we, are I circling?
With the eye, with the eye, the eye, he can't see on.
He's going to see me if I circle to his right.
That man, he can't see nothing coming out from.
Hold on, Joe.
Listen, you have to understand.
I've been like this all my life, all my life.
I played like this, Joe.
I play like this.
So actually playing with you on the basketball court.
I'm still going to get buckets regardless.
And that's the problem.
You ain't played against me, partner.
You stayed and talking about I played at this ball.
Well, you ain't played against me.
I don't know what you think this is, boy.
Yo, Joe, Joe, with all due respect to your career at Arkansas,
with all due respect to your NBA career,
you're not beating me in basketball, Joe.
And I say that with all due respect.
I'm on grandma cookies.
Don't worry, don't do that.
Don't do that.
By my cookies, Joe, you're not beating me, Joe.
Huh?
Joe, I put that on my bad eye.
You're not beating me.
What a, what a bed line there.
I got some money.
I want to put on my damn cell.
That's what I want to do.
Yeah.
Are you kidding me?
On the little shooting thing we're going to do at the end of the week.
I'm putting money on myself.
No, whatever you do, don't piss me off, Joe.
I'm telling you that.
I want you pissed out.
I want you pissed out because I want you at your best.
I want you at your best, partner.
Joe, I got a smile on my face.
I'm being cordial.
You don't know basketball the way I know basketball.
And this is you, that's y'all fault.
Y'all created the monster that I am now where I understand the game,
where I play the game.
I've been training as if I'm preparing for the NBA season,
even though I'm not playing just to trash you.
Okay.
You might want to slow down a little bit, Turbo.
But I look, I like what he had to say.
He's like, look, man, the noise can become deafening.
the last thing I want to do have to deal with
is that noise in Los Angeles
because we know it looks, that's the Lakers.
I don't care what type of team they got.
The fans, they care about winning.
They don't care who they put out there.
They want to win, and they want championships.
And so he's like, man, in order for me to get to where I want to be,
I can't be worried about, oh, y'all lost, you suck and all this and all that.
I want to go out there and I want to be able to focus on my game.
You know, we had a good deal.
You know, Jane McDaniels, outstanding defender,
Rudy Gobert, Outstanding Paint Defender,
myself, an outstanding paint defender.
And they defined the role.
What was my role going to be in L.A.?
Right.
Scraps?
Are you going to put me in the Dunkin's Fah?
I mean, how many times y'all are going to allow me to shoot?
Because we know, look, the bulk of the shots,
Luca's going to take about 22 a game.
A.R. going to take somewhere between 15 and 18.
And Kelsler, Walker Kelsler here,
who just signed that big deal.
He didn't come over there to put up no two, three shots
tonight so you know he got to get his touches yeah yeah and you know he he's gonna be in a
dog spot he's a lot of red hey hey he felt he uh he felt you know going john the gomingham felt
going to l a okay ocho he probably gonna be getting about four to six shots a night i'm just
real yeah he would think he would have come off the bench too huh i don't know if he would
have came off the bench it's just hard when you play in that system you're going to have to be a
catching shoot guy because Luca's going to have a ball a lot and they are going to have a ball
a lot. So when they do, when the ball do find you, it's more than likely it's going to be
catching shoot. It's being swung. It's going to be swing, swing, or you're going to be in that
corner. They find you in that corner, but you're going to be a catching shoot player.
You got you got to make them shots. Yeah, you got to make them shot. And a lot of time,
guess what? Luke is going to be passing the ball. He doesn't got caught up. And they, hey,
three seconds on the clock, two, one, now you heave it up that, not your shooting percentage in the
Yeah, yeah.
In the toilet.
Everybody talk about, man, look at Camingo.
Camingo shooting 42%.
Hey, guys will come to you, too, Uncle Ocho.
Hey, man, have time.
Dude will come to you.
Hey, man.
Don't be throwing me them damn firecrackers, man,
to where as soon as they hit my hand,
I got to get it out of my hand.
They mess up my percentage.
Guys, don't play about that, boy.
You throwing them that ball as a hot potato?
Man, I got to hear him shoot this bomb,
this grenade, man, please.
Yeah.
That's just the way.
it is. I mean, but you play you play with Luca, you play with AR. They didn't pay AR that money to
all of a sudden go into a shell. They want him, they want him to expand his role. Yes, sir. I think
he picked the, and deserving of so, I don't have no problem because I see, I saw how the guy
what he came in as and what he built himself up into. Hey, he absolutely deserved. He absolutely
deserved what he got. He absolutely deserved to have more on his plate because he's, he's
happening. He's done it. On the big, I know he didn't play way of it. I know he didn't play way
this past post season, especially against OKC.
But the development, the development that he's went through
in the process over the past some of our years,
he's gotten better each and every year.
And he's shown and proving that, man, he can help tote,
you know, their scoring load throughout the regular season.
I think they are going to be great there.
But I think Kaminga made the best decision.
Okay, Ocho, I probably would have made that.
same one too.
Hey, we got a very special guest, Jordan,
because we got South Carolina head coach,
Chenis Barry.
Coach.
Hey, man, come on, coach.
How you put,
how you put up, how you put up 87 on your album bottom, man?
How are y'all doing, man?
Hey, listen.
They're doing great.
I ain't doing good.
I ain't.
Hey, man, we were just trying to go one and over, man.
You know it.
You're trying to find a way to win a football game, man.
That's it.
Man, say some of them poor

We've had a lot of great guests like Sarah Sherman
Not that great.
Actually, can you help me?
Can you help me shape this?
How about we flip it on his head?
How about we flip the script?
What is the surprise woman?
Actually, you think is the straight man is actually the one who's acting weird.
Adam Scott, this entire time you've been expecting Adam Sandler to come to visit the show.
I would never expect.
I would never set expectations for something like that to happen.
If the universe allows for something like that to happen, I'm open to it.
I'm always going to accept.
You know, Danny McBride, fine.
Yeah, it's all this fragile masculinity exuding.
I could smell it walking down the hallway, to be honest with you.
I was like, is that weed?
Nope, it's fragile masculinity.
Ben Stiller, no.
Because a lot of times, out of context, people don't get it or even know what a circle is.
You know what I mean?
They're like, oh, what's a state.
Everyone's so dumb except for you.
And fake. Right, fake and also not interested
or just like, oh, I've got my life, I don't care about your life.
And a lot of other big shots that wouldn't be where they are without us.
Oh, and by the way, Will Ferrell told us personally he loves the show
and he wants to be a guest on every episode, but he's just so busy.

On the new podcast Solita, we share the messy reality of traveling alone
as a woman. I can wait four hours for the next bus or this random dude is offering me a ride on his
motorcycle. I chose option B. I'm Julie Pinero and I travel by myself because it's a rare space
where I can say yes without asking anyone else first. I'm on a mission to reclaim the word
solita, trading the pity for possibility. Every time I tried to be alone, I kept meeting people
and they were like, you smiled at us. Not a lot of people smile around here. It's when you're
alone that you're most receptive to the world as it is and not the lies you're sold about it.
It can be a time where you push your limits, change your mind, or wake up to a new version of
yourself. So whether you're a solo travel veteran or you're too nervous to book your first trip,
I hope you listen to Solita on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your

Here are some hard truths.

That doesn't work. Make it look more defined. They say it works. I don't know.

Boys, just trying to go on and oh, bro.
How you doing?
It's a great day to be a bulldog, man.
Great to be here.
Yes, sir.
Well, congratulations on the wind.
You guys did something really, really special last week.
Had an outstanding ball game.
You ran the football well.
You didn't require a whole lot of passing yards
because you ran the ball so effectively.
What was it about so effective about this game plan
that you were able to get the amount of yards
and the amount of points that you were able to put up?
Well, it's about execution for us, man.
You know, at the end of the day, I tell our young men, man,
let's lock and low for 60 minutes.
I think our guys did just that.
Regardless of who's in the game, there's a certain standard
on how we're going to play, man.
And we respect every opponent we play, man,
but we fear none.
And we knew when Savannah State came up in here, man,
that they were going to have their team ready to go.
They had a new coach, man.
So with them having a new mid-football coach, man,
there's so many unknowns, you know,
things we really don't know.
So we're going in just trying to be the best at what we can do.
And I thought our young men did just that, man.
And I thought our coaches,
They did an outstanding job
of putting our young men in a position
to be successful.
And we found a way to accomplish the mission, man,
and that's to go on and up.
Well, I need you to do one more favor for them.
I need you to get those young men to play.
I need you get your coaches to coach him up
because this week when you play fam,
you see Ocho got his fam shirt on.
Drop 62 on me.
Hey, man, we're going to go out there with the right mindset,
man.
You know, I think, man, as you see on my shirt,
man, we're all about trying to find a way
to go.
I know, that's it, man.
Regardless of what, we respect every opponent that we play, man.
But, you know, the mission doesn't change for us, man.
We're going to make sure that our young men are prepared.
The separation is into preparation,
and we're going to make sure they're ready to rock and roll
and that ball kicks off down there in Miami, Florida.
Hey, coach, you guys are picking up the back of you guys left off last season.
What message do you give your players, Coach,
to make sure that they are aligned with you in a long-term role
to make sure the season is successful?
Man, we're process oriented, man.
We're all about on love with the process, man.
Yes, sir.
And, you know, our young man have really bought into that.
I have a great group of guys, man.
They're, you know, they love South Carolina State University.
And they understand, man, when you, just because we were last year,
doesn't mean we will be this year.
They understand that we have to work, you know.
You know, in the days, college football game with the transfer portal, man.
you know, there's so much, so much turnover.
Yeah.
So we try to make our program still relational, not transactional.
You know, it's about relationships for us, man.
And our young men know that we truly love them each and every day on how we pour into them,
not just as football players, but as young men, man.
So, you know, those guys understand that.
And they understand their standards here in South Carolina State University, man.
South Carolina State University has been winning ball games for a long time, man.
You can go way, way back.
and legendary football coaches like Willie Jeffries
and Oliver Buddy Pugh.
And my old head coach at Savannah State was Bill Davis,
who did some outstanding things here.
So, you know, all in all,
their standards on how we're going to do things
and how we're going to play,
how we're going to practice,
and all our young men are really bought into that.
But it's a new team.
It's a new season,
but the mission doesn't change.
Find a way to go one and oh each and every day.
That's what's up.
Hey, Coach, Coach, Bear, I got a question for you.
You brought in 41 newcomers this year.
21 of them transfers.
How do you blend that many personalities
into a championship locker room?
Listen, man, it starts with the returning guy.
So I actually have 52 returners and 52 newcomers.
And when you have 52 guys,
the foundation has already set from the guys that's been here.
Right.
You know, they're hungry and hungry.
People ask them, well, how does it feel to chase another championship?
well, we're not really looking at it like that.
We're looking at this a whole new team, man.
So a lot of the 52 guys that weren't here last year,
they're not chasing anything.
I mean, at the end of the thing, they're not, you know,
trying to, the word I'm looking for is they're not trying to reestablish anything
because they hadn't done anything yet.
So at the end of the day, we make sure that the young men that have been in the program
do a good job of letting the guys know the standards on how we do things
and in this program, man, we're about
championships, man. We chase A's
and B's in the classroom. C's
are championships and D's are degrees.
Those are the A's B's, C's D's
of our program.
I like that. I like that.
Coach, your last two years in the SIC
at Benedict, you didn't lose a game.
You started out in two years, here it is
in South Carolina State.
You haven't lost the game.
How do you keep that?
How do you make sure your player,
because like you said,
you bringing in 52 new guys.
Those guys haven't done.
So each season is really a season in and of itself.
You can't say, well, we did it last year.
We're going to do it this year.
Or he did this, he's going to do that.
How are you able to stay so laser-focused, get your team to follow your lead
and do what you've been able to do in the last four years?
I've been blessed, first of all, man.
I'm a man of faith, man.
God leaves me, guide me and direct me, man.
But I got great coaches, man.
You know, you've got to have, in order to have success,
people think about winning on the field,
but you got to have great aligns, man.
And it starts with great alignment from our administration.
I have an outstanding president, President Conyers,
and I have an outstanding athletic director, Oliver Buddy Pute.
And then I have a great coaching staff, man.
And when you've got great coaches that buy into your process as well,
because it all starts with buying.
I don't care what kind of challenge you have.
If guys don't buy into what you're trying to accomplish,
then you won't have a success that you want to have, man.
So I think more than anything, man, we look at it as a new team,
new season every year. So we're chasing something every year.
What we want to chase is greatness, man. And it's been working for us, man.
But we got young men, players that are really buying to what we're trying to do
on and off the field, man. And it's really in the last few years, it's resorting to
a couple championships, man. You know, the last three Pete South Carolina State had was
80 to 83, Coach Davis, who's your coach. He was also my coach. I was his first recruiting
class in 1986 at Savannah State. What did you learn from why you was playing for Coach Davis,
because he was an unbelievable man and he shot you straight.
You knew exactly where you still with Bill Davis.
Of all the coaches I've had a lot of them,
I'm not so sure that I got one more,
that I enjoyed playing for more
that I enjoyed playing for Coach David.
You know, the years, you know,
I got to Savannah State College at the time in 1991, man.
And I share people, share this with people all the time.
Bill Davis gave me my opportunity.
And, you know, I actually got my football scholarship off,
him watching me play in the basketball tournament.
And I'm always forever grateful,
humble and grateful for a man that gave me an opportunity.
So Bill Davis, one thing you know about him, man.
He was shoot you straight, just like you said.
And when we came in as freshman in 1991, man,
he taught us more life than he did football per se.
And, you know, I'm grateful for the relationships we had
with Bill Davis, old brick, Darrell McNeil, man.
That was another one.
Yeah.
Wesley McGrill Prime Dog.
That's my guy.
We're super close, man.
Oh, mud bone, man.
So all those guys, man, really paved away from me, man.
So I'm just grateful for the relationships.
And it's all about relationships.
When you work and you play at HBCUs, man, at the end of the day, man,
the relationships that you build, man, they last for the rest of your life.
These are guys that impact your life in so many ways,
not just in the game of football, but in the game of life.
I'm just grateful to have those relationships.
to have impacted my journey and where I stand today.
Is Akalk in South Carolina State with you?
No, sir, no, sir.
He was last year, but he's no longer here.
Okay.
Hey, coach, we know the success you've had based on what you've been able to do,
but I understand coaching is more than just wins and losses.
I understand the journey and getting the players that align with the process
that you already have.
But how you navigate being able to be able to coach players in an era,
especially with young athletes
that are really sensitive
when you're critical of them.
How do you get them to understand?
How are you able to coach them hard
to get them to understand
in order for you to want to do this
and for the process to work
and be alignment of what we want to do
here at South Carolina State?
This is the way things need to be done
without them shutting down.
You know what, man, I'm grateful
that you ask that question.
Because real talk, man,
we're going to coach them hard.
We're going to coach them hard.
I'm talking about
we're going to coach them hard, but we're going to love them harder.
See, when you love them harder than you coach them, man,
they'll let you coach them hard, man.
They don't care how much you know until they know how much you care.
And our young men genuinely know that we genuinely love them.
And I have some really good ball coaches, man,
but they pour into the young men.
They go into the dormitory wheel.
They go to the cafeteria wheel.
They spend time with them outside the game of football.
They ask them how their parents are doing.
They just dig into, always tell them, get into their life.
Because if you get into their life, man, those guys would run through the wall for you.
And I think if you can continue to build relationships, not transactional, you know, I get it.
And the young men want to get a little piece of the pie because they deserve it, right?
They work so hard to represent these universities, you know, they want a little piece of the pie as well.
But we're going to love them.
We're going to care for them.
We're going to make sure that they graduate.
See, one of the biggest thrill for me, y'all want to win championships, man, but I want to win souls.
And I want to make sure that the next, you know, people say it all the time, the next four years.
years of your life going to set you up in the next 40.
I want to make sure that on Mother's Day, four years from now, when they enroll into
South Carolina State University, when they walk across that stage, usually around Mother's Day,
that now they're ready for this game we call life, man, because the reality is, you know how
I go, man, this game football, man, it has an expiration day.
Some of these guys think they're going to play for us, but we're going to teach a life lessons
that's going to get them ready for this game we call life because they're going to be better fathers,
they're going to be better husbands, they're going to be better leaders in this community because
of the time that they had in their journey here at South Carolina State University.
Hey, hey, Coach Berry, you talk about these kids,
one of the pieces of the pie.
Myself, Arcan Ocho, we sit here and talk about NIL.
You know, we talk about how it affects the kids.
When you recruit a kid today, what tells you he really loves football
versus loving everything that kind of comes with it?
I'll tell you what, man.
Listen, that's a part of my recruiting pitch, man.
At the end of the day, man, I'm going to find out everything about the kid.
You know, I want to find out number one question on my ask when they sit down with me,
cross me face to face, do you love football?
Hello.
Sometimes they love being recruited.
Yeah.
Love being recruited.
I don't need a guy that love being recruited.
I need a guy to love the game.
Hello.
I love, sweat and tear, because it's hard, man, getting up in the morning, you got to get up,
you got to go to practice, you got to go to study hall, you got to go to meetings,
you got to get coached hard, you're out here in the sun,
And the sun and the heat of Ornburg, South Carolina,
you got to love this game, man.
You can't just go out there and go play this game.
You got to love it.
So that's one of the questions I ask these young men.
And if they're always talking about money,
that mean they really don't love the game, man.
Because, you know, the reality is, you know, when we came through,
well, at least when I came through, you know,
they give us a little scholarship, man,
and three hots in the car, we were happy.
We were happy just with the opportunity.
Because we wanted to give the job.
degree because we didn't really have a whole lot to go back home to, you know, per se, man.
So we're just, you know, here at South Carolina State University, man, I'm going to tell you, man,
I'm so grateful to work at a place like this, man, because you're talking about legends have
kind of through here, man.
We have four NFL Hall of Famers that play in the South Carolina State University.
Yeah.
You know, we have a lot of tradition, a lot of history.
We have 20 Miak championships that are hosts on the rafters of our Oliver C. Dawson Stadium, man.
Winning games is important out here.
There's an expectation on how we do things,
but winning soul is probably more important to meet you.
Hey, I can tell you one thing, Coach.
I never had an opportunity to meet you,
but I've seen the success that your school has had.
I've seen the success that you had before you got here,
and now I get a total understanding on why y'all are successful.
Like, for me, I can tell you this and never meet you personally,
boy, it is an arm.
It's an arm.
And I'm one that always writes down,
that Uncle Shannon always shares all the time.
And there's something that you said.
When I tell you, I'm going to take this for the next 40 years and use it,
they don't care how much you know until they know how much you care.
Boy, that was a gym.
That was a gym.
That was a good one.
And to be able to say something like that as a head coach,
that was dope.
That was awesome.
That was awesome.
I appreciate that.
Coach, with all the success, you know what happened.
And I know where you, I know you, you're planning where you are.
My roots are here right now.
But you can't keep having the level of success you have without people start
coming knocking on your door.
Well, you know, I truly believe in, you know, bloom where you plant it, man.
Be where your feet are, man.
And, you know, I'm a man of faith.
So, you know, at the end of the day, all I can control is the controllables, right?
So guess what I can control.
Just trying to find a way to keep going on and know.
Yeah.
Because I'm a praying, man, I let the chips fall away they may, man.
and I'm going to let the good Lord lead me, guide me, and direct me.
And I'm going to follow his lead, man.
But, you know, I look at life sometime like this, man.
God don't make any mistakes.
It's the reason why I'm here right now today on August the 31st, 2026 at South Carolina State University.
You got to think about it, guys.
I spent 26 years as an assistant coach before I got my first opportunity to be a head football coach, man.
And God got me here.
He got me here for a reason, a season, or a lifetime.
And I'm going to enjoy the moment.
why I'm here and just dominate the day
and keep falling in love with the process
of going one and on each and every day.
That's it.
Well, I show hope God lead you to Savannah State.
That show would be nice if he led you back.
Since you follow God's lead,
I show hope he leads you down there.
That would show be nice, Coach.
I appreciate it, man.
Coach, thank you.
Man, congratulations on all the success.
Like I said, all the success that you had at Benedict,
the success that you're joined now in South Carolina State.
I understand that program.
That's a very, very proud program.
A lot of the guys that went there that you talk about in the Hall of Fame,
Donny Shale, the Deke, Deacon Jones.
I know those guys very well.
I played against Edwin Bailey.
I played against the DB that he was at Seattle.
I forget his name off the top of my head.
But it's been a privilege and it's been an honor to have you on the show tonight.
Definitely.
A coach, matter of fact, I'm going to be at that game,
you know, that South Carolina State and Famu game.
I got to meet you in person.
I got to be able to shake your hand.
man, because this was this was dope for me.
You know, first impressions are really said to be lasting impressions.
And the impression I got meeting you tonight, man, on the show,
I got to meet you formally.
So if I can get your information from Coach, man,
so I can shake your hand before that game, you know,
down in here, Miami, man, it'd be an honor.
Yeah, give him that information.
So, because he ain't going to shake your hand after the game.
When y'all put puts him, he'll be long gone, coach.
So go ahead, you go and get your hand shaking.
and your greed, your pleasantries, get that out of the way early.
I appreciate it, man.
I look forward to you, bro.
Thank you, man.
Coach, thank for joining us tonight.
We appreciate it.
Continue success, Amanda.
We'll see you down the road.
Thank you, God.
Go ahead off.
Go it off.
That's South Carolina State head football coach,
Chenis Barry.
Savannah State alum.
Unfortunately, he does not coach the team now,
but hey, who know what the future holds?
No.
Hell no.
Hey, well, he would preach.
boy.
Yeah.
Hey,
Joe, he might be a coach,
but you can tell he was raised in the church
and he's in the church night.
I don't have my pen and paper.
I'm trying to write down all the quotes.
Please tell me somebody in this chat.
You got the quote about the soul.
It's something about the soul.
Joe, it was so good.
I can't remember what it was,
but I do remember that other one, though.
Hey, you see how he talked about Coach Davis?
How coach David shot you straight.
That's how he was.
No punches, hold.
No punch is hell.
He told you exactly, if you was playing good, he told you.
If you weren't playing good, it wasn't no.
Come on, son, son.
Son, I'm going to have to take his scholarship.
This is here, you don't cut it.
He did a lot more, you can tell he doesn't curse.
Coach David, because.
Hey, hey, hey, it's good to have straight shooters, though,
like that his head coaches, bro.
Yeah.
Yeah, yeah, because they tell you.
right where you at.
It ain't no indecision.
It ain't none of that.
Yeah.
But see,
the funny thing about it is coaches like Coach Davis on.
That's why I asked coach,
how do you figure out how to coach kids in today's era,
in today's climate with them being so goddamn sensitive?
That's why I asked that question.
And his answer was,
oh, my goodness.
Boy,
hey, he could run for office, boy.
Yeah.
But he can run for office, boy.
Oh, my good.
That was nice.
That was nice.
That was delightful.
I enjoyed that.
How about this, chat?
We got a big announcement to make.
We're partnering with Netflix
during the first stop of our HBC tour.
That's at Prayer View, PV.
The cast of a different world
will be joining us live from the Baby Dome.
Wow.
You see it right there.
Cadeem Hartison, Darrell Bell,
Cornell Young, and 4th.
And I just know the last name is who.
Hey, that's going to be.
Hangul Butchian.
Wait, tell me.
Yeah, you ain't hit us again.
I figured you were going to find out.
Oh, my God.
We got to cast a different world.
It's a different world.
Ooh.
And where you come from?
Hey, let's say, you that.
So I want to thank
we want to thank Netflix for giving us this opportunity.
We're looking forward to meeting to the cast of a different world.
Chat, you guys made this possible because of the eyes, the views,
the water of mouth.
you guys made.
Man, that's what's up, bro.
That's dope, man.
None of this is possible without you.
Yeah, we get that.
Yeah, we get to go and do these nice, fun stuff with Netflix,
and we've done stuff with a lot of different other companies,
but it's all because of you.
The love and support that you give us and show us,
they see that.
It does not go and notice.
And when we deliver,
when they say, well, can you do this?
Can you do that?
That team, that's team that's behind the scene that you don't see,
they make sure we get the job done.
But when we come up, when you see these, these specialty segments, these special segments,
custom segments, the team at nightcap, Shay, Shee, Media, you guys do an unbelievable job.
None of this is possible without you.
Ocho and Joe and myself, we got easy job.
We just be us.
Y'all have the hard work to make sure to put it in a format, to make sure we're on a hit our points,
we hit our cues, and make sure we deliver the deliverables that we say we're going to give
to these companies.
And so,
thank you.
Thank you very much.
We appreciate that.
PV, we're coming.
We're going to be there Friday night.
Look forward to seeing all you guys.
Can't wait.
And again, thank you, Netflix, for making this
possible.
Bro.
Do you all know how big?
This is a different world, man.
Yeah.
Hey, Joe, I know why.
We're the different world.
I'm just saying there's a,
but that's what I keep telling people,
everybody will be trying to compete
where they don't compare.
Oh.
Okay.
All right.
Okay.
There's a reason why we do it is.
Okay.
Our fan base is legendary.
Hello.
They show up, they show out.
They jump in the chat and they cheer us on.
They motivate us.
Absolutely.
Okay.
They know what it is.
Hey.
Crim Deli.
Hey, best chat in the world.
Best fan.
The world.
Absolutely.
It ain't even close.
It ain't even close.
What is that?

Great. Oh, okay.
What?
Yeah.
Let's go.
Yeah, y'all know what's up.
Hey, like I said, I chat.
I appreciate y'all, baby.
I chat over anybody.
This is not, hey, congratulations.
Everybody is doing big things.
Congratulations, guys.
Hey, you know, we have some healthy banner going back and forth.
But I chat, I'll take our chat over anybody's.
Anybody's.
Man.
Because we got loyal.
We got people that's been here from day one.
And the one that come, they stay.
And they normally tune in at some point of the day.
They catch us all.
They catch what we say, what we do.
Hello.
In matter of fact, if any other people have a problem with our chat,
I'll chat to fight your chat.
Hmm.
What you want to do?
I'll chat about what you're talking about.
Oh, man.
Different world, man.
I'm so excited, man.
Hey, I got to remain calm though.
I got to remain calm.
I can't be fanning out like.
Wednesday, we will announce the sororities and the fraternities
that will be competing in the legendary skeptics.
So Wednesday, we're going to announce the ones that will be competing.
Hey, hey, what's the prize?
What's the prize, huh?
All that's going to be announced.
Hey, let's make it about $5,000.
Okay.
Or is it more than that?
Or is it more than that?
We're gonna make the announcement on Wednesday.
Hey, we announced the Salaura and the Frats.
That's being that's gonna be a part of the step show.
Hey, be at your best.
Y'all better to hope you.
Hey, hey, hey, I see why I see why some people y'all can't get them the whole it
because they'll tell it.
I see I see what going on.
I ain't saying I ain't saying I ain't saying.
I ain't going to tell them about it.
Hey, hey, hey, I wasn't that much.
I'm just saying I see why I hug them, you know, you know.
Hey, Joe, I'm ready for that step show, what?
Yeah, yeah.
And y'all, y'all best be knowing now.
Y'all know I went to an HBCU, so I know when it's good,
and I know what it's really good, and I know when it's important.
So don't become, don't become half-depping.
This ain't, hey, I ain't no P-W-I, brother.
Okay.
HBCU, class of 91 at S&U.
Hey, hey, I'm not going to lie.
I want to know what sororities, what friends,
is going to be performing because, hey, it's going to be a show.
It's going to be a show.
I can't wait.
For sure.
I can't wait.
So again, thank you Netflix for allowing us to have this HBC tour.
And we kick it off at PV Friday night, September the 4th.
Be there.
You don't want to miss this.
The cast of A Different World, Kadeem Hardison, Darrell M. Bell, Cornell Young, the 4th.
And Uche, they'll join us on stage live from the baby, though.
Can't wait.
And Wednesday, we'll announce the sororities and frats that will be participating in the step show.
Hey, I got a question, right?
If sororities and fratts, that means they got to spit the money.
So sorority wins and a fraternity wins, right?
Yes.
Oh, I think we should make it ten apiece.
We'll announce that on Wednesday.
Step current says he's pretty sure he'll finish his career with the Warriors.
There's no question I want to be here the rest of my career,
and I'm pretty sure that's going to happen.
The deal and the contract stuff will happen at the right time,
and we're not letting it be a distraction from the preparation for this season.
And the fact that the team were coming back has a lot of familiarity.
Hopefully we can be healthy and just have a chance to show what we're capable of,
myself included, missing so many games last year.
I don't see a scenario.
I think he can sign a two-year deal for about $140-something million.
God, Lee, too.
I don't see a scenario.
Because once you get to a certain age,
they won't give you,
they won't let you sign no extended deal
basically two years at a time.
Yeah.
I don't see a scenario
with Steph Curry put down another jersey
other than going to be neither.
I could be wrong.
Anything could happen.
Never say never,
but I just,
I just don't see that happen.
I think he's a one jersey guy.
Are you sure he's a one jersey guy,
I mean, and Joe?
I mean, knowing that you don't have a chance,
don't you want to finish your career,
obviously with the opportunity
to maybe win a ring again?
Why would just to be a one, just say, okay, you know what, I stayed in Golden State my entire career.
That's a great thing.
It's an amazing accomplishment.
But if you're going to end your career, why not end it on a high note?
Who's to say he can't end on a high note, Ocho?
Think about it.
He probably feel like they still, you know, got a chance to play championship caliber basketball.
No, they're in the West.
Anything is possible, Ocho.
Injuries happen.
Certain things happen.
Like, you know, hey, look, I can't really blame me.
for being in Golden State the whole entire time.
Man, he's been in the face of their franchise, bro,
won four championships.
Come on, man, what are we talking about?
Joe, I, Joe, you my dog, Joe.
I love you to death.
But see, this is where my ball knowledge comes into play
and understanding things.
Listen, Golden State is not prepared,
nor do they have the team to compete in the West,
let alone win an NBA championship.
There was nothing that they can do
in the foreseeable future that will have
have them in a position to be able to compete with the thunder, the spurs, let alone even
let alone the wolves.
Wait, that's not the West.
I'm tripping.
Yeah, that's the West.
That's the West.
That's the West.
That's the West.
But yeah, let alone the wolves.
I mean, like, I mean, I would think, I would hope.
And they would, they would grant, you know, Brother Curry that opportunity, the same way the
Browns granted Miles Garrett the opportunity to leave the game on a high note with another chance
at another ring.
Oh, Charlie.
And I'm Steph Curry.
I'm the best shoot of all time.
And the last two, three years of my career,
I stayed here just because I wanted to wear one jersey.
Maybe I'm off.
Maybe I'm tripping.
Ocho.
I'll leave the other team, especially the top upper echelon team.
They are already intact, bro.
What are they supposed to do?
I mean, you talk about the OKCs, the San Antonio's,
the Minnesota's like where he's going to go to where he's going to be able to play
championship caliber basketball?
Hey, Joe, I like, you got me right there.
I like what you just did.
Joe, you got me.
I'm stuck.
Because we're pretty good.
We could have an opportunity to win the ring.
Joe, I don't know.
So might as well stay put, get that bag again.
You know what I mean?
And do what you can to make Golden State a competitive team, bro.
Like, they may not be one, two, or three.
But hell, if they play good enough basketball, man,
they can be in there for sure.
sure playing, you know what I mean?
Oh, absolutely.
Absolutely.
So.
And you know what?
At that point,
and he doesn't strike me as a guy that,
like, you know what, just to go win a ring,
I'm going to root up my family.
He doesn't strike me as that type of guy.
Okay.
I'm, I, I, okay.
It could be wrong.
Hey, people mind's changed.
Yeah.
Yeah.
People minds change.
And he, he, he of all people, is allowed to change.
Right.
I ain't got no problem.
If he stays, if he goes, I'm happy.
I mean, he should be content for a ring.
A great of the all time.
I get, I get it.
I'm just saying if he had that urge,
if he had an urge, you know what, I want one more.
I want one more.
Even though my legacy is cemented
as one of the greatest,
not the shooters of all time,
one of the greatest NBA players of all time.
Top 70s.
Yeah.
You know, and depending on who you ask,
maybe top 10 of all.
time. I'm just me. I don't know. Yeah. He, A, A, I think Steph is more so, uh, he'll take a guy who
come join them, but he doesn't seem like a guy who's willing to, you know, go out and
team up with somebody in New York or Philly or then, nah. No. Oh, I like a. They're going to
have to join him. He's not going. He don't have to join him. Hey, hey, Joe, you just said some real
nice that, Joe. I like that. What's that? What's that?
What's that?
Steph Curry in New York?
No.
Nah.
Huh?
How are you going to get him now?
Steph Curry in New York?
No.
It ain't possible, Ocho.
Huh?
Anything is possible.
No, it's not.
Do you hear Kevin Gardner say that after they won?
Yeah, I know, but this ain't.
Anything is possible.
What you talk about?
Listen, I'm just throwing hypotheticals out there.
Okay.
You know, I got a vision.

On the new podcast Solita, we share the messy reality of traveling alone as a woman.
I can wait four hours for the next bus or this random dude is offering me a ride on his motorcycle.
I chose option B.
I'm Julie Pinheiro, and I travel by myself because it's a rare space where I can say yes without asking anyone else first.
I'm on a mission to reclaim the word.
Solita, trading the pity for possibility.
Every time I tried to be alone, I kept meeting people and they were like, you smiled at us.
Not a lot of people smile around here.
It's when you're alone that you're most receptive to the world as it is and not the lies
you're sold about it.
It can be a time where you push your limits, change your mind, or wake up to a new version
of yourself.
So whether you're a solo travel veteran or you're too nervous to book your first trip, I hope
You listen to Solita on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Hey, this is Hayes Davenport.
And Sean Clements.
We host the podcast Hollywood Handbook on the Big Money Players Network.
Our show is extremely accessible to first-time listeners.
Each week, we talk to someone in show business, aka the biz, and try to help them with their careers and see what they have to offer us.
Everyone has a good time, and no one gets mad at their publicists for letting them do our show.
We've had a lot of great guests like Sarah Sherman, not that great.
Actually, can you help me shape this?
How about we flip it on his head, right?
How about we flip the script?
What is the surprised woman?
Actually, you think is the straight man is actually the one who's acting weird.
Adam Scott.
This entire time, you've been expecting Adam Sandler to come to visit the show.
I would never expect.
I have. I would never set expectations for something like that to happen.
If the universe allows for something like that to happen, I'm open to it.
I'm always going to accept. You know, Danny McBride, fine.
Yeah, it's all this fragile masculinity.
Exuding. I could smell it walking down the hallway, to be honest with you.
I was like, I was like, is that weed?
Nope, it's fragile masculinity.
Ben Stiller, no.
Because a lot of times out of context, people don't get it or even know it's a circle.
is. You know what I mean?
They're like, oh, it's so stupid.
Everyone's so dumb.
And fake.
Right.
Fake and also not interested or just like, oh, I've got my life.
I don't care about your life.
And a lot of other big shots that wouldn't be where they are without us.
Oh, and by the way, Will Ferrell told us personally he loves the show and he wants to be a guest
on every episode, but he's just so busy.

I'm going to have to look up this story.
I'm obsessed.

I'm Munges shit together, and I'm back with a new season of the podcast Skyline Drive.
This time I'm diving into a rabbit hole of peptides, organoids, blood boys, blue zones, and brain replacement
to try to understand what this longevity obsession is all about and what it really means to live forever, for all of us.
I learned about some rad science.
I can make a brain for you, and then we can test what draw is the best.
for your brain, as opposed to his brain.
Here's some hard truths.
I would expect Indians to age faster,
but I did not expect it to be almost a four to five year acceleration.
And get myself into a world of trouble.
I'd say probably start bones smashing.
That doesn't work.
Make it look more defined.
They say it works. I don't know.

Final segment of the evening
It's time for Q and A
Hey one thing
Can I say one thing?
Boy, I don't know
I don't know who came up
With that hot boys
Uh thing
Gravity team on fire
Oh
Hey
Hey I've been vouching for the graphic team
To get a raise the past year
Look don't get on started
Bro don't get on started
They're doing they won two though
If they, if they, if they were, what you call them,
if they didn't let the ass run out of the game race.
They complain about their ass.
Boy, they're in fire, boy.
Hey.
Oh, they're doing the number now.
Give them their credit.
They're doing it.
Classic.
All right.
Taylor Bell said day one right here, love nightcap.
Taylor, appreciate that.
We really, really appreciate that, man.
It's been an unbelievable ride for us,
and it's only bigger and better things to come.
Joe Joe 87891 best late night
been here since nightcap started
we got so many of those
I remember like it was yesterday Ocho
you and I that little 30 minute thing that we had
had about 300 400 people in the chat like damn
I said boy hey and the next time
that was a Sunday night and the next time we went
we had like 3,000 and then we just
it grew it grew up spread like wildfire
Hey, just
just because we put a me
87 point demonstration,
that don't make us no bad, brother.
Hey.
Bad they feed.
Hey, they ain't scoring no 87 down here.
I can tell you that.
You hear me?
Oh, okay.
67.
Y'all ain't lying about real work life.
I've been working on the factory
for over three years
making a decent money for my age.
But man, them 12-hour swing shifts suck.
Yeah, man.
You ain't got to tell them.
me nothing. I wish I wish you had an opportunity to work that job when you was younger.
Yeah.
Could let you know, because you have a lot of jobs Joe, and you work when you're younger and
let you know what you don't want to do. That's how I am with my, my palate.
And they're like, yeah, I ate it when I was younger and I know I didn't like it.
So now I don't have to eat it. Why would I? I mean, people like, you eat Bada
sausages. Yes, I like buying the sausages more than I like hot dogs.
That's just me.
Man, them vinyl, hey, you get a truck driver steak,
which is a honey bun, vina sausage, and the cola.
You goochie?
Man.
Joe, I put a, I put a 14-hour day ship in.
Hey, that old truck driver's steak, give me two truck driver's state.
Buying a salt, I want one of the more big cans,
because you know they got your big can and they got your milk can.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
You get them one of old big cans of vial sausages?
You're going to go on.
Man.
Like a truck old red.
I work all that.
What's up, Big Three?
When y'all was watching film,
what were y'all looking for against your opponent?
That's a good one.
That's a good one.
When I was watching film,
it's more so tendencies for me.
You can look in basketball,
you can look at an offensive set
and kind of know what's coming.
You know, if you're watching enough film,
so let's say, hell, if we're playing the Lakers
and we're playing against Kobe,
he's going to shoot from a lot of different places on the court,
but their triangle running with field
all them misdirections them cutting off like you know
when he catch it he live off dump
I don't care where he catch it in you know what I mean
so you have to be prepared and you want to know his tendencies
defensively to where he likes to gamble right you know what I mean
he's gonna take a lot of chances you know what I'm saying
so you want to find different ways you can go at him and make him work
as well because the officer guys in the NBA
man if you let him rest on defense what are gonna squirt you
What are they going to tell you up?
So for me, anytime my play scores,
I always try to make their ass work defensively,
whether it's chasing me,
whether it's coming off picks,
whether it's playing in isolation,
I just never wanted them to rest.
If you take a break,
you rest on your damn offensive time,
not on defense.
Yeah.
What's you looking for, Joe?
I mean, for me, obviously,
I think the most difficult thing for me,
Uncle Joe, I'm going to be honest with you,
it was playing,
it was studying film
when it came through my division opponents.
and that was having to play against the Ravens
and having to play with the Steelers
because they did other things
that no other teams would be able to do.
When you watch them on other teams
where they lined up in
is normally what they ran.
Even with the rotations,
with the safeties and the linemen moving
and the second level in moving,
what you saw is what you get.
When you play the Ravens,
you play the Steelers,
because the personnel was so good
and they really had no weaknesses
at any level on defense,
that is what was really difficult for me.
And most of the time,
you try to look for the tendencies,
but the funny thing is the tendencies changed
when they were playing us.
Yeah.
And what you saw in film, most of the time,
it wasn't what you were going to get in the game.
So it made it very difficult
because they ran so many different exotic
coverages because there were certain things
that they could get away with
that no other team could get away with
because the personnel was so much different
and so much better.
But, I mean, it was so difficult for them.
And they gave me a tough time.
Obviously, I had some success.
Yes.
But, man, watching film on the radio,
in the early 2000s and having to deal with Ike Taylor
and Troy Palomalo and Chris McAllister and some man dude it was hell.
It was yeah I'm kind of looking for the same thing.
Obviously they're gonna play certain coverages
and down the distance area of the field.
I really didn't look at the way the guy covered a tight end
because I know they didn't view me at the tight end.
So I'm looking at how he, how they covered receivers.
Looking at okay if it's this formation,
Does he open up, does he like the quick jam?
Does he, does he feather?
Which means does he, is he up there in front of me,
but he ain't really tried to put his hands on me
because he don't want to grab him.
He's just feathering me, follow me everywhere I go.
Does he bite, is he, is he antsy?
Does he like the jet?
What we call, we call it jetting.
They call it undercutting.
So I'm looking at, like I said,
I'm not so much, just like Joe said, Tennessee.
What does he play?
What does he like to do?
is he a talker?
Is he quiet?
If I say something to him,
can I get him off his game?
You look at guys,
you see if somebody pushed them,
how fast do they react?
Or they're just like,
brush it off.
Because it's really a game within a game.
Yeah.
Because how they cover me,
they weren't going to cover anybody else
the way they cover me.
The way the guy covered Ocho,
you know, maybe a guy wasn't going to press Ocho.
Another guy, he's going to press Ocho.
Go press.
So guys didn't want to press Ocho
because of his quickness off the ball.
The one thing you don't want to do is try to press a guy
and miss because he's gone.
So I'm just trying to look at it and like,
okay, this down the distance did like to play.
I come out and look at the front, okay,
starting to over front, okay, now they're in the underfront.
Okay, they play this coverage behind it.
Oh, this is what they're going to do right here.
Does he hold a lot?
Do I need to go to the back?
He said, man, he's doing the big.
Bro, you just watch over the holding now.
I ain't got no catchers.
You know why I ain't got no catcher?
Because you've been holding.
I'll say it again.
Them ass, fellas.
Selfish people hating while waiting for the show to start,
yet won't to complain.
Prosper fellow, woo damn pig.
We got to.
Whoopin?
I know y'all think it's cheap.
And you know, we ain't got no studio.
I mean, you know, we ain't got no studio
like a lot of people got studios.
We ain't got that.
We couldn't afford no.
studio. So we had to get a set up that everybody could be on location.
They can be in their confines of their own home.
And you know, we can shoot the show because that's what COVID showed us.
Kobe showed that you could do a show and people didn't have to be sitting next to
each other.
COVID also showed people can do their work from home and get it done and be just as
productive.
We feel that we can create a show.
Now guess what?
Come Friday night, we're going to all be together.
The next stop, we'll all be together.
So we could do it any kind of way we wanted to do it.
I just felt that this way, it was the best way for us.
Ocho lived in Miami.
I wasn't moving out of Miami.
At the time, I was living in California.
Ocho wasn't moving to California.
So how do we make this work?
Yeah.
Yeah, it requires a lot of moving parts.
Yeah, you got to have graphics.
And yeah, you got to have editors.
And yeah, you got to have extra producers.
Yes, you got to have spotters.
Yes, all that.
You all think that's cheap.
No.
I told you.
you. Come for the ads.
Stay for the story.
I can't be in no studio,
boy, I got about 350 other job,
boy. Exactly.
Because at the time,
I had ESPN.
Where are we going to be at?
Where are we going to be at? Where is Ocho lived in Miami?
I'm in California, and I'm flying back and forth to New York.
It works.
Y'all, the reason why it did work,
because y'all embraces y'all like, hey,
because you're coming for what we're saying, not how we look.
Yeah, the backdrop and now you see the trovies and stuff like that,
but y'all ain't really paying a whole lot of attention to that.
What we believe, and I've always believed,
that when we put this together,
people were more concerned and excited about what we had to say
as opposed to what we looked like.
Yeah, you can do a three box or a four box.
Yeah, you can do, you know, different angles and all that stuff.
You can, yeah, we could have a slide.
We have slides when we are together,
the slide moves back and forth.
Everybody have their own, you know, a camera.
But for this, I'm just looking right down the barrel.
Ocho looking down his barrel.
Joe's looking down his barrel.
Yeah, one of my eyes looking down the barrel, yeah.
Yeah, close enough.
Backup crew need to be commentators for Mad 28 video game.
Love the podcast.
Keep doing y'all thing.
Appreciate you, bro.
Oh, Ocho.
And still look at the chat, who won, who two it is.
And don't make y'all no bad brothers,
unc and Ocho, but it might make y'all some bad brothers.
Y'all keep trying to love Joe.
Iso in with y'all bull, John.
Hello?
See, Joe, Iso got your.
Got it.
He got everybody.
Man, what's wrong with y'all?
Oh, hey, I'm just being honest, Joe.
The chat, the chat doesn't spoke, man.
Why y'all act like the chat don't know what going on?
Don't y'all know the chat, see y'all, everything that's going on, man.
Hey, Joe.
You think you fooling, you say, Joe, you think you fool in the chat like that, like Dejan Love, huh?
Like, you really don't.
Yo, it's okay, Joe.
Hey, live in your truth.
I live in my truth.
Publicly.
It's what I do.
Hold on, hold on.
Come on with me, man.
Speaking of the Dejan love kid.
Hey, boy, that boy that went off on the old show.
Them voice notes that boy that boy that boy.
I don't even watch that dude.
I got some,
I got some bad man.
I don't watch.
Hey, that man had me in tears over here,
bro.
I'm not going to lie to you, boy.
I ain't seen no work like that.
I ain't seen nothing like that, fellas.
He's funny, boy.
When he,
it's one joke where he's about,
I got shares in Gucci.
And we're showing the girl,
I got this Richard,
Rischar, Mule.
Yeah, yeah.
He got the receipt for.
Boy, and he was comming.
committed. Oh, man.
He's committed, boy, you committed, boy.
Is he still in jail? Yeah, what?
That man getting out.
He'll flight risk.
Yeah, he is a flight risk.
Well, he'll, he, a running risk.
He ain't got no much to get no flight.
Boy, he's funny, boy.
Mm.
Just want to say y'all make my weekends and weeknights
and days much better,
know I can always get a smile when I'm down.
Love y'all.
Appreciate that, bro.
Appreciate that support.
Iso.
I'm a LeBron fan.
And for years, you added extra stress to my life whenever we played you.
Even though you were the ops, that don't make you no bad brother.
Welcome to the home team.
Grateful Marcus.
What up, nightcap gang?
Can I get a birthday shout out?
I turn 34 tomorrow.
Also, I'm coaching ankle by the football this fall.
And that don't make me no bad brother to start practice with Oklahoma to see how many dogs I got
my squad.
Man, you can't have a little kid
that didn't do it, Oklahoma.
Now, we used to do that.
When I came up, Joe,
we had Oklahoma.
Hey, Oklahoma and Bullitt,
put in the ring.
They bring them old school.
They bring them old school ways back,
bro.
Man, yeah, I don't think they're going to let them,
I don't think you'll let them do that.
But first of all,
happy birthday, bro.
Happy 34th birthday.
Congratulations on coaching.
Giving back to the community
by coaching the youth football.
That's always a positive,
but very, very, very happy.
Shout out to you.
Please answer my question tonight, Big Three.
Come on now.
Who the one player y'all played against
that talked the most trash?
Ocho, number one, tolerance,
production cowboy, Super Bowl 27 like that.
What talked to most trash?
John Ramble talked the most trash.
Joe, who you got?
Joe, who talked the most trashed?
I'm trying to think of some good trash talkers
because I always bring up GP.
because it wasn't about necessarily him trash talking different players.
Uncle Ocho, it was how he talked to the damn referee, bro.
I'm like, man, you let that man talk to you like that.
You can get that man no tick.
Call them all type of bees.
And then what I just going?
I'm like, so that was unusual.
That's just like he's at the top.
And I don't really remember nobody who was just out there just, you know,
talking trash to different guys on the squad like i don't i don't really i can't really pinpoint no not
one person outside of uh mj when he came back uh him and paul pierce had a good back and forth
throughout their game my rookie year because uh you know he said he had to come back to the NBA
just to get a pickup game with paul pierce i guess he was saying like paul him and paul was trying to
The Paul was ducking him in the summer.
Paul was ducking him in the summer.
They didn't want to come get no run.
So he, they talk trashed the entire game.
MJ Antoine Walker and Paul Pierce, the entire game.
Okay, Ocho, they talk trashed the entire game, bro.
The entire game.
I ain't lying.
I so I coached 10th and 12th grade AAU team.
Any encouragement, any encouraging words.
Man, you got to make them boys work.
They have to develop.
a real work habit, a real work habit to, you know, to want to be better,
to want to be great, to want to be one of the top.
Because what I've seen those guys at their young age,
is that a lot of mortality, but they don't really,
they ain't got the work habits.
They don't work that damn hard.
You know what I mean?
So you got to catch them early, bro.
You got to nip it in the bud.
You got to make sure they, they got great work habits.
And from there, everything else is kind of water under the bridge.
Nightcap often imitated, never duplicated, the undisputed pun intended.
Best sports talk, first take with first take, y'all wives at Spock.
Appreciate that.
Well, you know, we've been, we've seen a lot, been done a lot, some good, some bad, more good than bad.
But there's something that can be said about life experiences.
There's no better teacher than life.
There's nothing better than experience to be able to speak from something from firsthand knowledge.
And a lot of us, that's what we do.
Ocho talk, Ocho is talking about things that's happened in his life or he saw happen in others' life.
Joe is the same way.
I'm the same way.
You know, growing up in the late 60s, early 70s, things are different than it was in the 90s,
what it is in the 2000, what it is in the teens, what it is in the 2020.
life is vastly different.
So I get to speak from a knowledge and an experience
that, yeah, there are people that,
but they don't have the platform to share those experience
that we have.
And I think that's what separates us,
because there are people that were born in the 50s.
My sister can share experiences that I have,
I know nothing about.
She's eight years older than me.
She just turned 66 last week.
So, yeah, it's something to be,
it's something to be said about experiences.
and knowledge and each of us, we were damn good players.
We were damn good players.
There ain't no, well, you said this,
but you didn't do it when you played.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Excuse me?
Now, don't make me go upstairs to get that jacket.
Hey, Golden State ain't winning anything with Dunleaving's GM.
Oh, NBA Liberty.
play old oh take two points at home in a big home game you heard it here first you seen you seen
the dream beat beat minnesota the other day i saw that beat yeah yeah hey you're also need to put
some respect on the dream name too bro oh no no no what have i ever said anything bad about
the dream oh i'm just saying in case you had in case you were thinking about saying something here
you need to yeah that's all i'm saying yeah uh uh
No, man, we, remember we talking about Olivia Miles?
She didn't have an assid.
Yeah, I seen that.
I said, dang, she didn't even have a sis.
Not an assess, not one.
But we should have known, excuse me, think about it.
If somebody's getting all of those rebounds,
how many rebounds they think they're going to have?
We were talking about, oh, they're going to get a double, double.
Like, Fee's going to have eight, nine rebounds.
And we know Andrews is going to get a double, double.
But then we're talking about Olivia Miles,
and we're talking about, you know,
a,
yeah,
there's only so many rebounds
to go around.
Yeah, it was good.
I don't think we hit on,
I think we might have hit one.
I think we might have got one right.
Because we had them,
we had them way too high up.
Then the fact that she didn't get an assist on,
I was like,
I ain't gonna lie,
I'm like, damn,
that'll be a misprint.
Yeah.
Yep.
Oh, Joe, the Bengals defense is trash.
Oh, hey,
remember you said that.
Huh?
Come on, come on,
Come on back in here, man.
We won't.
It won't matter.
They're still the cowgirls,
and I'm serving ISO the hot ale.
When my Giants put to you know what,
you them girl.
Who was that?
What's that name?
Jason.
Jason.
Jason, you got us bent, Jason.
I don't know what you got going on tonight,
partner, but I'm telling you right now.
The Cowboys ain't going to be playing this year, partner.
We're running the NLC.
You hear me?
me? Yeah. Joe, this is for you. Uh, start bench cut,
troop, high five, mint condition. Yeah, yeah, I still have a brigade blank,
Arthur blank for Lamar. Hold on. You got mid condition in front of troop. Yes. I
begin to take the long way. Hey, oh, I don't know what Joe.
Hold on, hold on, hold on on on mid condition, true. And who's other one?
High five.
the way
you kiss me
when we're
I got all up
I can't pick one
I'll go outside
I see I see you go out of
boy
we're going to go off on there
boy they
I don't live in the
all them in the playlist
they're in rotation
but if I had to pick
I'm gonna go
I'm a go
yeah I'm gonna go
high-five troop
I know old you
mean condition
I know I know
walk it out walk it all
walk it all turbo I know
I know I know
me condition hard too
I ain't gonna lie to you're right
they hard but
that's my order
hmm
do
do
do do do do do do do do do do do do
Hey, boy, y'all,
Hey, Joe.
Hey, you are, hey, hey, hey, hey, look, when we had a little party, man, I got the ox, bro.
I got the ox.
I'm on the ox.
I got the ox.
Yo, I know all the words.
Joe, what you're talking about?
I'm right there with you.
Man, I can't be listening to that as we go, as we go and get ready for the show prior to that.
I'm just telling you y'all.
Hey.
I got to break my head, pose.
Sam LeGrand, 89, until he starts playing the par again,
we're going to go address this man as Coleridge, Bernard Stroud de Ford.
Oh, man.
Start, bench, cut, Kevin Garnett, Dirk Noviceky, Charles Barkley.
Who you got?
I'm going on.
All of one MVP.
Two of the three, one championship.
Dirk was a final's MVP.
Didn't KG win defensive?
KG won defensive player the year also when he was in a boss.
I'm going I'm going KG Barkley dirt.
Hey, ain't no way that joke was supposed to be doing what he did.
Hey, uh-un, oh, what's your chat.
Chat, if y'all, if y'all dispute anything that I said,
especially with Charles Barkley being too, please go watch.
I think it was the 90, was it the 93, 92?
When he did that, when he did that to the warrior,
when you drop 50s or or the finals run
and when they played against the bulls
even though they lost.
Bulls, yeah.
That man was a dog.
He said, listen,
Ocho, he said he felt like he was the best player in the world
until he played against MJ in the finals.
That man was just, MJ was just on a whole other level.
But Barclay numbers in that series,
okay, Ocho, that man was putting up crazy numbers.
Yeah.
All right, so you're going to check out Coach Prime
in the buff kick ass at A on 3rd.
Thursday night.
Uncle Ocho, ISO start, bitch, cut.
Sanford and son, the Jefferson, good, good times.
What's happening?
Hey, Sanford and son first for me,
and good times right in.
Oh, for sure.
Sanford and son first and good times right behind it.
Sanford and sons, good times, I'm sorry.
And the Jefferson is what happened to guy.
Yeah, that Sanford and son was here.
Hey, Steve, Joe, I still, Sam, Son.
Still, hey, hey, a day, come what I want.
Hey, hey, Red Fox, he used to be on.
on Lamont ass on that, didn't he, man?
Yeah.
Oh, me.
Hey, Elizabeth.
Elizabeth.
How you drank?
How you drank?
And you just left the house of the Lord?
Like this.
Oh, it's the big one.
Oh, yeah.
I'm coming home to you.
Yeah.
It's the big one.
Ocho, been talking about getting mad since 08.8.
Unk knows his who is soul made.
He'll stop.
scared and called cookie.
Peter Paul said,
right on.
Nah, not after
not after no 20,
24, 24 years.
Quarter century.
What's that?
My,
talking about cooking my soulmate. I got it.
Okay.
You what?
I got it.
Oh, hey, I heard you sneak that in there.
I heard you.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I'm glad. I'm glad. I'm glad.
I'm glad. I'm glad for you.
I'm happy for you now.
Now, let's take that next step now.
I'm ready when y'all are.
You letting me know.
Oh, man, I know some BS when I hear, smell it and see it.
You hear me?
Tupac Shakur finally got a piece today.
What's your favorite Tupac song and movie?
Two park song, for me, probably hit them up.
That's your favorite one.
Fuck.
First of all, you claim,
we're inside, when we ride,
we cover a trip with game.
You claim to be a player,
but I bucked your wife,
we bustle a bad boy.
Y'all suck for life.
Pressure in the...
All I...
Brenda's got a baby.
I can't get away.
All lies on me.
Ever since I met you,
I can't beat the pressure.
It's like the man don't understand.
All he does is stress you.
I can see the state of misery
read from the introduction.
Oh, that A, A, Puck with Heart.
Hell Mary. Come with me.
Yeah. Hell Mary.
Yeah.
Two Park movie. What you got? Juice.
What you got? What's your favorite two parts movie?
Poetic justice.
Yours juice, Ojo?

I'm going to keep it real.
He didn't play in many movies that wasn't great, bro.
If y'all really think about it.
Nah.
He was 25 when he died.
Yeah.
That's what people don't realize it's 25.
Yeah, I'm going to go, I'm going to go poetic justice.
I'm disappointed Dallas let Milton go.
I love for him to stay, but football man,
the football fan of me hopes that he gets a real chance on another team.
Much respect.
Yeah, they did him dirty.
And if I'm him, I'm like, uh-uh, y'all claim I'll go play.
I get on your practice squad.
I ain't going back there.
What were your travel plans for international games when you played?
Rams are planning a rise.
the day before the game.
That's a long-ass trip.
But they say psychologists say it's best to not,
not to spend a whole lot of time
and give your body a chance to try to get acclimated
to the vast change in time zones.
But we went, we played in Australia,
we played in Sydney,
and we left a hole,
we left like,
four, five days in advance.
Yeah.
Yeah, we went to,
same thing with Berlin.
Berlin was the same way,
because we played it.
I played in Berlin, Barcelona, Japan twice, Australia, and Mexico.
We went to.
We used to travel all the time for the preseason, Ocho.
That used to be the thing to try to, you know.
And then they came up with the World League, and you didn't travel quite as much.
When I was in Brooklyn, we went to China.
We went to China.
We was over in China for like a week.
We played a couple games over there, play other NBA teams, obviously.
And when I was in Brooklyn, we went to Paris and played.
We got the parents like four or five days before we played, too.
I know it's a little different than basketball and football, but yeah.
Oh, Joe, I got some good news for you.
I tracked down your Hall of Fame jacket.
Some Haitian guy named Zoe got it on eBay.
Oh, man, come on, man.
Y'all style my boy out, man, stall in my, stalling my, stalling out.
You see?
Thalling my, stalling my.
I come on here.
I try to tell some of my stories from back in the days
and the chat just take it left for you.
Hey, well, we appreciate it though, bro.
Don't think we're gonna appreciate it.
We appreciate it.
Yeah.
Yeah, I ain't sure, but I'm gonna keep telling my old stories
from back in the days.
Hey, hey, some of my dudes say 30-shifting say,
hey, let me hold one of them helmets, on.
I'm the next Dejan love, city boys.
Look.
I mean, God has been saying, look, these women been scamming the whole damn time.
And now y'all man, one guy, one guy's scared.
And now y'all losing y'all damn bad.
These women been out here scamber for years.
They been finesse him for a minute, bro.
Hey, they, hey, Uncle Joe, they looked apart.
They looked apart until you did with him personally.
Yeah.
Yeah, what happened?
Yeah.
You don't fool me.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Right.
Up there on my grandma, she transitioned last night around midnight.
I know she's in a better place, but I don't think the grief has hit me yet because I haven't cried.
We appreciate the prayers.
It means a lot.
My condolences.
My condolence is, young world.
Yes, sir.
Yeah, I thought some prayers go out to you, man.
We just hope God gives you peace and understanding and the strength that you need in your time of grief.
It's going to happen.
It's going to happen.
Yeah, you haven't processed it yet.
you go to bed, you wake up,
and you're going to realize that, you know what,
it's never going to be the same again.
The family dinner's not going to be the same.
The family get-together is not going to be the same.
Never the same anymore.
And I knew it.
I knew when my grandmother passed,
we weren't going to be, we weren't going to get together anymore.
Because that was the, that was the glue.
That was the stabilizer.
Excuse me.
Damn.
That was the stabilizing that caused,
that was the flame that all the moth gathered around.
What's that flame went out?
Yep.
There was no more gathering.
Excuse me.
