Jeremy Lynn says he and Kobe went months without talking after confronting him about his leadership style. Let's take a listen to what Jeremy Land had to say. He had, he was, he was upset at me, um, over something that I was actually trying to do. But the coach was telling me not to do it. And so he was like, no, don't like, don't foul him. I was like, no, we got foul him. Right. And so Kobe was like, foul him. I was like, I know I'm trying to, but I'm telling the coach and the coach is telling me, don't foul. So then I'm like,

I don't know what to do. Yeah. So it ended up being something where he had, he had given me really bad body language so i texted him this is and we couldn't like me and him like when we would lose we'd be up at like three four in the morning just not able to sleep just very competitive yeah so we we we we we we texted him and i was like hey man like i really don't appreciate the body language and um and and and and and he and he you know he came back with the shark response and then i went back at him but my but it ended it ended cordial where I ended up saying, I was like, I'm not saying that you can't teach me. You're obviously like a hundred times the player I am.

I want to learn anything and everything I can from you. I'm just asking, can you just say, you know, and do it in a way that's like respectful to me as a man, right? Yes. And so he was like, all right, I got you. And then he sent over a text with some advice. He's like, let's start with this. I was like, I got you. I'm going to be focused on that.

I'm be working on this. I'm going to think on this of exactly what you're saying. I'm just trying to get better. I'm trying to help this team more. we didn't speak for the next five months. Damn. I know you already know where it was like, it was like for him it was and he even talked about it

because we we patched up later, but he had talked about like he's not used to people challenging him and I wasn't challenging him like, I'm better than you and I'm smart than you. I was only challenging him like, hey, can you teach me in a way that's a little bit more effective for me to process? It's not versus not like talking down to me. Hey, Uncle Joe.

Kobe different, man. Kobe's different. He's an animal. He's a student of the game. So I can understand it. In a sense, I've never played basketball a day in my life, especially at that level. But from the outside looking in for the fruit interactions I've had with Kobe and understanding, I can totally see him and understand exactly what Jeremy Lynn had to go through. That's crazy.

And who else? The only other person I can think that is probably like that as well. would probably be Michael Jordan. Mentality, the way they carry themselves. You know, they're not friendly at all. And in anything, anything that is combative to them in any situation where it has to do with basketball in general,

they see it as a challenge. Yeah. You just have to look at everything and says, whatever he says to me is not personal. You got to start with that premise. Because if you don't start with that premise, because the tone in which they talk to you, you're like, yes.

And what did he say? can you give it to me in a way that is respectful to me as a man? Right. At the end of the day, I understand you're Kobe. You're the black mamba. Yes. So let's not lose sight that I'm a man. So, and that's the thing. You know what? He just tried to teach me. It's not personal.

Because, I mean, it's the tone in which they talk. Tone has a lot to do with it, though, Joe. Because, you know, like, your mom or your grandma could, like, they say something in the tone lets you know the seriousness that they were dead ass. Yeah. You know, hey, my grandma famous name, boy, don't make me hurt you. Right.

Hey, if she ever uttered those words, you know, granted, was dead for real, for real. Yes, serious. And typically, the great ones, they don't even give them if you take it personal or not. Right. You know what I mean? Just one.

Like they don't care nothing about that. Like he said, man, they ain't speak for five months. You think Kobe lost some sleep behind that? Right. No. Five months. Can you imagine? Can you imagine your teammate coming in, Ocho?

He don't even speak to you, bro. Yeah. Because I've heard this happening on numerous occasions. He ain't the first one to say this. Yeah. Yeah. The great ones don't care. They put in so much work, bro, to be who they are.

They ain't trying to hear that. Yeah, I'm trying to think if there anybody on the team that would. Because normally they're going to break it up. Unless they're like just two supreme players. Obviously, you know, you ride it out as long as you can. Because if you're winning, Ocho, the last thing in Joe, you know this, the last thing you want to do is break up a winning formula. I don't know if y'all got, well, y'all old enough to remember when Coke changed the formula,

they went to this secret formula, they had a secret, they had another formula. And their old, yeah, Coke had another. before you, this had to be like early 80s. Man, the people complain so much, they got rid of that formula. A hell, no. But normally, if it's a formula that's working, I don't think there was anything wrong with the original Coke.

But you know, you try to, you try some things and you know, and it didn't work. But I can see, and I agree with you, Joe, I can see this like Kobe, Kobe's trying to win. Damn your feeling, you're trying to win. Right. Absolutely. He ain't, he ain't studying it.

and a $30 million de-tackle? And you got for loft just making a boatload of money. You just gave the middle linebacker a boatload of money. So I'm not surprised based on their recent history and what they need and what it was going to cost for them to keep them.

And you know, that's what happens. When you draft and they've done a great job of drafting, Ocho, at some point, you can't pay everybody. You just can't. You're going to have to let it. It's the same thing with Willing. You're going to have to let him go.

You're going to have to let him go. And the only thing is is that you're not going to get compensation for it. I mean, you get, you'll get compensation because he'll go and you get a third round pick. But you can't trade him and get the value that you could get if you had his rights and traded it.

Right. Because you got the new spoon. And you got JSCN coming. And I'm in Warii is going to be up in a year, two years. Yeah. And he nice. And we talked about this.

I was like, look, if you're prioritizing, K9 is on the bottom of the list. Because what he's going to want is top five, top three, top five quarterback running back money.
