He's a 5-11, 193-pound cornerback from the University of Miami.
In his pro day, he ran 433.
He had a 44-inch vertical with a 10-foot standing brawl jump.
Here he is, Kiante Scott.
Kiante, how you doing, bro?
I'm doing good.
How you doing?
Man, I'm doing great, man.
Congratulations on an unbelievable season.
And now, hey, the fun part, now the Hayes in the barn, just sit back and wait for that phone to ring on tomorrow.
So visits, what have you heard?
Who are some of the teams that you like, you had a conversation with?
And they're like, we really like you.
And if you're here, we're going to take you.
Yeah, I would say, you know, has some time and spending a lot of times, a lot of teams, like through visits, zooms.
You know, there's a lot of interest as far as, like, the position I play.
And it changing, you know, as the style of the game changes now.
you know, that's playing a big role in it.
And then ultimately, you know, the versatility, too, the position versatility,
being able to, you know, go to different spots and play different spots
and different schemes in the defense.
So I'm definitely excited to see, you know, how it all plays out as these next couple
days and see, see where it goes from there.
Listen, as a GM, watching you all season long, if I were to sit here and we on a Zoom
and I want to draft you, and I ask you a simple question, how can you help make my defense
better?
at that Pacific position of DB, what do you give me?
Yeah, ultimately the fact that, you know, how I can impact the run in the past,
you know, being a nickel, you know, you have to be able to do both those things.
You know, you have to be able to fit in that run game and not be, you know,
scared to get your feet wet at times.
And then also be able to, you know, be out on that island and do different things.
So I would say just ultimately that the position is changing.
So I feel like, you know, at that position, you've got to be able to be so multiple.
And I feel like I've put all that on tape, you know, throughout this year.
of being able to do, you know, multiple things as far as finning the run, be on the outside,
you know, on that island and then ultimately being, you know, being able to fit that run.
Hey, hey, Kiante, hey, what's up, bro?
Slow motion.
Hey, tell me something.
DB, bro.
What's the hardest, what's the hardest thing about being a DB?
I would just say, to be honest, I would just say the ups and downs of it.
You know, you could make the game winning stop on a play.
and be that guy, and then you can give up the catch to, you know, on third down and be the worst DB in the rural.
So, you know, I would just say it's just the how the hard times come with it, man, you know, the ups and downs.
And then the fact that, you know, you can give up a catch on third down and have to go first down the next play and they can come right back at you.
So I would just say, you know, the mental part of it is the hardest part.
Bro, I'm looking at your stats.
This is very impressive.
You had 13 tackle for loss.
You had five sacks.
two interceptions, both for touchdowns, and five breakups.
And I noticed they brought you a lot.
Was it an Ohio State?
I think it was Ohio State.
You got to pick six, right?
Yeah, that was Ohio State.
And they brought you with some pressure.
Do you like it?
Because you said you can play out.
So obviously, you know, from they bring in the slot bliss a lot.
You like playing slot or you like playing outside more?
I'm like in the middle.
You know, I'll probably myself on being a DB.
So, you know, you ain't never limit myself to.
one thing. But I would say ultimately just the slot is just, the slide is just so fun with just how
much you're involved in the defense, you know, whether that be, you know, in the run fit or
and having a past responsibility. So you kind of like in both roles. And for a player like me,
it kind of just keeps me, you know, active as much as I want to move my eyes and be involved,
you know, it kind of just keeps me active and I could see things. That's a lot hard because you got a lot,
you got a lot. You got to worry about the scale across all the way across.
There ain't too many people that could get in that slot, man. I'm going to just tell you right now.
The boys would be on the outside, the boys would be back there at safety.
You asked them go getting that nuclear, and it's a whole different story.
I'm going to just saying, yeah.
Your path to the NFL, Juko, Auburn, Miami,
how do you think that shape, how did you think like going to a jukech?
Because obviously, I'm sure you had plans of maybe play out of major universally
like you did at Auburn and the youth.
But how did it go into a jukeau?
How did that path that you're taking to get to the NFL,
how has that shaped the person that you are currently?
Yeah, it just turned me into a dog, man.
I mean, all my Jucco products will say the same thing.
Like, you know, you get there and, you man,
you just long days and long nights, man.
There's questions of not knowing if you're going to make it.
And then you get there and there, and there's the brotherhood of things.
And you're getting there with guys, you know,
all different types of stories, different backgrounds.
And ultimately, you guys come together and, you know,
build that Juko bond is something that, you know,
I still talk to my Juko teammates today to this day.
Like, it's just the things we went through together
just not knowing like how we were going to eat you know sometimes just random different things and then
ultimately you know you play another competition and when you're playing other competition man that juco
world is like it's just a different ballgame so you know i'm just ultimately you just shape me you know
it um makes me real appreciative like it's like the small things like you know getting gloves and cleats
and um stuff like i'm super appreciative to have a hot tub and you know all those different things so it just
you know as soon as i got to college i was just super grateful for all the things and never let those
things, you know, kind of go over my head. So it kind of just shaped me to I am, man.
It kind of made me, gave me that dog style. That too, from me getting offers in Juko.
A lot of people don't know. Like, I spoke on it before. Like, when you get offers in Juko,
you know, that target get on your back now. Everybody looking at one of the pieces of that boy,
that boy with them offers. So I would just say, you know, to me, just turned you into a dog.
And you got to stay on your toes. You got to, you know, you got to squabble hard,
as I would say.
Right. Hey, hey, what's, what you like playing better? You're press coverage.
You like praying prince?
I really like, oh, for real.
That way, you know, you can see some things.
Yeah, read the tempo, the release, trying to get a, get a tail on routes
and based on how they come out.
Okay.
Hey, your journey is similar to mine.
Obviously, going from Jukho, then making it to being able to get to the big stage
to be able to showcase your skills.
As a child, growing up, obviously your dream, I'm sure it was to be able to play in the NFL.
Today, right now, with that journey almost ending, in a new journey starting,
What is the process for you been like?
Has it been everything you thought it would be?
Yeah, definitely.
I mean, a lot of bumps and different obstacles along the way,
but I feel like they all shape me to get to this point now.
And now I'm just at this point now where, you know,
constantly throughout this process and even throughout this year of 2025
or just staying at one level.
I feel like that, you know, help me, you know, go so far
of not, you know, getting too up, not getting too down,
you know, not worrying about the noise around me,
kind of just staying focused on the task at hand.
And that's helped me, you know, prevail, you know,
as there's things going on, as things, you know, keep increasing and, you know,
things, you know, keep getting better for me.
It's kind of just allows me to just stay focused on, you know, the task at hand.
So I kind of kind of can't worry about what's going on for real.
I can't feel it.
I'm kind of numb to it of just, you know, just trying to stay focused and stay on the level.
Right.
If you were to put your GM head on, right, and you would have given yourself a com?
If you were to be male Kiper, right?
And we got draft they going right now.
Who would your comp be right now in the NFL that you would somewhat compare your game to
to where you play your, your, you're?
Yeah, I would definitely have to, you know, shout out Jalen Petrie.
I feel like, you know, throughout my time, I've watched him a lot in that slot.
At my time at Arbor, we kind of came in the same family, defensive-wise.
So I watched a lot about him and just the way he plays the game is just the way, you know,
the DB should play, especially in that nickel in that slot and just flying around
and just being physical and then, you know, finding that ball to me.
What led you to the youth?
I like that.
To the youth.
Oh, me and my guy, Christopher.
What you mean?
You and my dog, Chris Ball.
You and my dog, Chris Ball like this, for real, for real.
Like, that's really my dog, for real.
like we just built a connection through my time at adjuco actually about to before i came out i was
going to go to organ and that's when we built our relationship there you know even with the cuban coffee
stuff you know if you know you know shout my dog christabal but yeah no that's just we just built
the relationship there and then ultimately you know when you build great relationships and you know
you're a genuine person you know things are aligned in the back end so it all came in and um into a
close you know once i hit the portal again this you know past spring and then you know coach
christopher reached out and was able to build that and it was kind of like we just
recruit our time that we missed
and then, you know, it was able to just jump right in
and it was kind of like didn't have to take too much
adjusting. You know, 64
tackles, there's a lot of tackles for a corner.
Yeah, yeah.
But I'm sure it shows
that you are willing participant in the run
game. A lot of guys, and that's
a valuable commodity, is that
there are going to be times you're going to be forced.
They're going to be a time that you're going to have to get the guy down
or it's going to be a much larger game than
maybe what it already was or maybe even a touchdown.
Why do you take so much pride
in being able to get the guy on the ground.
Yeah, you just can't duck no wreck, man.
You can't duck no wreck.
No wreck.
You can't duck no wreck around here.
I like that.
Yeah, you can't duck no wreck.
I would just say it's that.
Yeah, it's just definitely a one-to thing, you know, at the end of the day.
And I just feel like that's something I've built over the time in my game of, you know,
kind of, you know, bringing that mindset of, you know, it's either me or him, you know, type style.
So, you know, just bringing that aggression to it.
And ultimately, it just helps you play fast and play physical.
And that's one thing about it, too.
When you go back to the table as a DV, you know, it's one thing having to cover.
But when you can add that verb, but being able to come up and tackle and come to the guy that party, man, listen, there's nothing they can say.
There's nothing they can say when you add that when you add that to your game, man.
I think about, you ever watch Nate Clemens play before?
Yeah, I'm not sure.
Oh, Buffalo.
You know about Nate Clemens.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Now, I'll watch all the slot guys in the league, especially as a-man.
He was big, though, Ocho.
Hey, yeah, he would be.
Hold on.
Remember Antoine, Antoine Winfield?
the senior.
Man, listen,
when they talk about in the run game,
huh?
You're like,
oh my God.
What a boy.
We're coming to the party, boy.
Let me ask you this,
because I'm sure they probably ask you this question.
You're going to be 24 years of age,
so you're a little bit more mature
than some of the other guys.
Like you said, you had to take the Juko route.
So when they ask you, like,
okay, what is some of the things
they might have made or,
may not have said about your age coming out.
Yeah, ultimately, to be honest with you, I haven't really got a lot of questions about it.
To be honest, I feel like it's been more so, you know, if I can understand concepts in this
defense and different things like that, mostly talking a lot of ball teams and then ultimately,
you know, talking, you know, past experiences and my journey also on, you know, what I felt
like I learned from my journey and stuff like that.
And really haven't really talked too much age.
It's been mostly ball.
And, you know, that's kind of agile.
I've been pride in myself on it.
I feel like, you know, in today's game, man, I mean, you see.
guys from all different
range ranges. Like I say, man,
you can't do no talking on the net.
You got to get in the field and do something. I don't care how
old you is. You got to get in the field and do something.
It only matters about all that.
Let me ask you this.
You said you like to play off.
So are you
a formation read guy?
You are.
You're watching the quarterback.
You watch it. Because a lot of, because
we look at me, I would say
down in distance. Okay, where are they down in
Where are they on the field?
What is the formation?
What is this guy like to do?
So I mean, I know it's a lot, but, but how do you, how do you break it down?
Yeah, process it based on, you know, first you got, you know, key the down in distance, you know, got to know what down it is, you know, like you said.
And then ultimately, like, based on the split, you know, the receiver that could kind of help you all.
That's kind of something that's in our process.
And then ultimately, you know who you got.
A lot of thing people don't know about that slot is you might, you think you might get that slot the whole game.
But then to the per receiver one in that slot.
one in that slot and he's he's off the ball a little bit or they're bunched up a little bit
bit and you got to, you know, so you get all types of guys and all types of different things.
You just got to know the skill set.
And then also, you know, got to know where your help is, where you can be beat at, where
you can be beat at, understanding that and then, you know, applying that into your technique
of, you know, how you're doing it and then just using the defense kind of to help you in that
slot.
That's kind of what you got to do.
I like that.
Because it's a lot.
That's what makes DB so hard because you got so much, hey, you got to dance running backwards
why that guy's running forward.
And he knows where he's going.
You think you might know.
It's like, okay, this is what he likes to do.
Look at his flat.
Notice a split.
He's two yards outside the numbers.
He's doing a lot of things.
I mean, he might be on the square out.
I don't know.
He might run that bang.
No, for really.
And you've got to be able to process that like this, though.
Yeah, very fair.
Because if you hesitate, you beat.
And then another thing, another thing about that,
another thing people don't know.
Was he running four three forward?
But you're running four of those hips.
He up out of there.
Yeah, then another thing people don't know,
you might have a room responsibility also while you still got a responsibility in that past.
So you've got to know both in Key Bowl and be able to, you know, it's just, it takes a lot.
But it's definitely a fun position and I love playing it.
Are you down here now right now?
No, I'm back home in San Diego.
Oh, yeah, yeah.
Okay, okay, okay.
Hey, you still getting at it?
Oh, yeah, for sure.
I mean, that's every coach probably brought that up, you know, just a past experience of rookies getting the minicamp and just being out of shape and stuff.
So definitely been working and can't go up there and do that and nothing like that.
Hey, it'll make it a lot easier too, bro.
If you're already going there in shape versus going in there trying to get in shape.
And it alleviates something.
It alleviates injuries too.
So keep that grind going.
Oh, for sure.
You know what?
Malacotoni, lining up against him in the slot, because here's the guy to age.
He's a joystick.
He's all over the place.
So, boy, yeah, we went at it, man.
I mean, I feel like from the time I got there, we just, we collided and we worked.
and we kind of built our relationship based on that.
You know, he's a guy that, you know, he's out there.
He's trying to do his thing.
And, you know, that's something I just respected out of him, you know, just from a young buck.
Like, he ain't ducking.
Like, like I said, he ain't ducking, no wreck.
Like, he, he, he won that smoke.
So I feel like that that's just the type of style I am too.
So I'm like, you want that smoke.
I want that smoke.
So we just collide him.
But, man, he's just going to, I just, I can't even put into words, you know,
what he's capable of doing, you know, with his remaining years in college.
And then ultimately, again to see him again once he, you know,
gets up in the league.
But, man, he's just a great player.
You know, he's growing and his game stuff still has so much more he can, you know, tap into.
So I'm excited about that.
And then, you know, just us getting to go together, you know, he's helped me so much.
You know, I feel like throughout this year, just, you know, I feel like if you're not moving like 10, man, you ain't doing enough.
So I feel like now I'm just, yeah, super, you know, proud of him and grateful for getting that opportunity of, you know, going against that.
That's my dog, man.
We locked in for sure.
Hey, hypothetically speaking, right?
I knew you was going to, I'm ready for, I knew you was going to go there.
I knew you was going to.
Listen, listen, hey, how you hypothetically speaking?
We lied that we did it to do it, right?
How many, how many, how many, how many, how many, how many rounds you,
how many times do you think you're going to stop me?
Like, like, realistic.
I'll be drew, John.
I don't like, you don't have to move for real.
No, I don't know.
I got, I'm saying, but you want to have to really do it, though, like, because I ain't going to play with you.
Right.
That's what I'm talking about.
Okay.
Okay.
Well, you know one thing when I'm in that field.
Oh, okay.
Yeah, no, for sure.
Well, hey, you're going to put the hands on it?
Jumper cables.
That's my coach crime was sampling of the jumper cable.
Right here.
What?
Latch on.
Hey, you're up in the jumper cable's on the wrong side?
Oh, man.
I like it.
I like it.
battle all the success.
We're going to be following you, man.
We appreciate you taking time out of your schedule tonight.
The jump on nightcap with us.
We can't thank you enough, man.
Good luck.
Don't.
But now a new journey start.
The first journey is over.
Yeah.
Now a new journey is about to start and the same attitude.
They got you this far.
Hey, you got to do a little bit more,
study a little bit harder, but hey, it can be done, man.
Congratulations.
I appreciate your job.
Congrats, man.
Stay locked down, bro.
Good luck, buddy.
That's a man.
That's a guy.
Scott, University of Miami,
man, the canes.
Got a special player right there, man.
Yeah, hey, they down.
The boy say he's going to put the jumper on them.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Hey, hey, hey, that boy says he ain't ducking no wrecks.
I'm ducking the wreck.
I don't want a wreck.
Yeah, that boy, he ain't ducking no rig.
Yeah, man.
Hey, Joe, you don't want the headache.
You don't want that headache.
Yeah, no, I already know.
I already know.
Hey, hey, Joe, I'm curious.
What's up?
Why are you ain't ducking this wreck right here?
But this ain't no wreck
I'm just saying the wreck when we play like
Boy that ain't no wreck
That ain't no wreck
Homie? You don't see it as that?
This thing he'll be one-sided
Hey, hey, you know what Joe?
Hey, Joe
Oh man, knee high to a duck's ass
think he's gonna be doing something with me
Boy, you ain't got a snowball chance
You're doing.
All right, all right.
Hey, Joe, I really don't take kindly
to the disrespect, Joe.
I don't give a damn, I'm gonna be honest with you.
I really don't.
I really don't.
I really don't.
All right.
Yeah.
Oh, Joe, you got Joe fired up.
Joe said he don't give a damn.
Okay.
Talking about what he don't like.
Yeah, I get a damn what you like.
Oh, I see.
That's why you're talking like that.
Yeah, Joe, Joe gets a little of those off in here.
I got it.
Hey, you got that liquor.
He got that.
I'm on that Lapporte head tonight.
Yeah.
That's that liquor talking.
He don't really mean what he's saying.
He don't mean what he's saying.
He don't mean what he's saying, you know.
Damn, Joe, you should let me know.
I feel about that poke with you too.
Oh, my, I, you know, I, you know, you know,
I have to, you know, it make the conversation go a little better.
Okay.
I like that.
What, Ocho, what?
No, I'm just saying, I'm saying it's a lick of talking.
That is what you mean?
He ain't in his right, man.
You know, yeah, you know, hey, he radio right now.
I tell you what, hey, when we do get together,
I don't want you cop and all these, please and shit,
because ain't nobody going to be trying to hear.
I'm just letting you know.
No, listen, let me tell you something, Joe.
When it comes to competing at anything,
especially one-on-one,
but my name is on this, Joe.
I'm not playing with you.
All right.
My name is on this.
You think people,
I think I'm embarrassed myself on camera, man.
I'm going to do your ass in it.
What?
Pause.
Stop playing with my name.
All right, we got a very special guest joining us.
He's a 5-11, 186-pound quarterback out of ATL.
Y'all know what it is.
18.
He had 48 tackles, four-and-a-half tackles for lost,
three sacks, nine, breakups,
five forced fumbles
Harriels from Clemson
Avionne.
Avionne, how you doing, bro?

So I'm Leanne.
Yeah.
This is my best friend, Janet.
Hey.
And we have been joined at the Hipsons High School.
Absolutely.
Now a redacted amount of years later.
We're still joined at the hip.
Just a little bit bigger hips, wider.
This is a podcast.
We're recording it as we tailgate our youth soccer games in the back of my Honda Odyssey.
With all the snacks and drinks.
Sidebar.
Why did you get hard seltzer instead of beer?
Oh, they had a bogo.
Well, then you got it.
Do you want a white collar or something here?
Just hit it.
What are y'all doing?
Microphones?
Are you making a rap album?
Oh, I would.
Come on.
Could you believe?
I would buy it.
Cuts through the defense like a hot knife through sponge cake.
That sounds.
That sounds good.
Oh, you're lucky.
I'm not a drug addict.
You're lucky I'm not an alcoholic.
You are.
I'm lucky I'm not a killer.
I love this team, and I'm really trying to be a figure in their lives that they can rely on.
Oh.
Listen to soccer moms on the I Heart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Oh, okay.
Yeah, we try to connect this camera, guys.
Yeah.
I'm good.
I'm good.
You good?
Yeah, I'm good.
Okay, okay.
Thanks for joining us, man.
We really appreciate that.
It's kind of kind of been tough.
I mean, going through the pre-draft process,
you've been dealing with a hamstring injury.
Are you recovered?
How has that been?
Yeah, I'm recovered.
I'm good.
I'm ready.
You ready?
I feel good.
I mean, I'm good.
Yes, sir.
Yes, I'm good.
I'm good.
Now, the question is, is that, you know,
you've received a lot of praise,
could possibly be the biggest skill in the draft.
because of the injury kind of held you back.
You had a first round grave before the injury.
So what's been the biggest key because, you know,
playing at Clemson, playing top-notch guys,
there's an expectation level when you come out that,
hey, you're going to perform at a high level.
So what's that been like?
Yeah, I'd just say, you know,
just going to Clemson, the way the way dabble coach,
always has prepared for anything.
So, you know, I'm ready for it.
I'm ready to get back.
Mini Kevin Ball, I'm ready for this.
Well, you know, big bro,
has already kind of got a standard out there.
Everybody knows what he is.
He's been to a pro bowl.
He's one of the better corners than the league.
So you automatically, like,
there's going to be the comparison,
be it fair or unfair.
How have you been able to handle that?
Because you kind of, you know,
you're the younger brother.
I went through the very same thing,
having an older brother that was a very good player.
How have you been able to deal with that
and by still and carve out your own path?
Yeah, I'll say,
It started, all that talk started when I was like Tim Greer.
You know, he used to make me mad.
He used to make me mad at first.
I got mad.
But when I got the college, man, I'm my own stuff.
I'm out here with AJ can't help me on this field in college football
with 80,000 in the crowd.
I'm making my own playing.
So I'm my son.
I don't really get mad at it, no matter.
I have to keep it going.
Coacho?
Draft process.
The draft process, this journey,
going through so far. What has it been like? Has it been
everything you dreamed of? Obviously having a
brother that's already went through it. Now
you've experienced yourself. Has it been
everything you thought of being?
Yeah, so it's a blessing.
You know, just
just living in his dream.
Dream of a kid. You know, want to
go through process, talk to teams, go
and come by and
do work. So it's definitely a blessing.
It's good. It's good. I love it.
Yeah.
Hey, as a kid from Atlanta, bro,
how you end up in Clemson? How did you
it out of here.
And the boy, they
didn't want me in Georgia, man.
Sweeney did, though.
Yeah.
Yeah, Sweeney, buddy, for sure.
So how has it, man?
The best part about it, I think, for me,
is that going through this process,
I had an older brother had just going through
the process a couple years early.
You have AJ, he's gone through the process.
How have you, how has he helped you
go through this process?
Yeah, it's definitely good.
All the stuff I'm going through, he doesn't fit through,
so I can ask some of those little questions,
and he tells me the things right away.
And it helped a lot.
I felt like I was very prepared at every meeting.
I was prepared for everything that I was going into,
and I thought that's what stood out.
And who you model your game after, bro?
My brother, Tremed McDuffie, and Weatherstone from the Seahawks.
Oh, boom.
Hey, that's some good comp, boy.
I like that.
That's some good comp.
I like that.
I like that.
Hey, when you do play, whether it's on the inside
or whether it's in the slot
or whether it's on the outside,
you prefer man to man or you prefer playing off.
What you like?
Oh, what again, their face?
Mmm.
Ooh.
Mm.
That's what I'm talking about.
Yeah, we believe in a bit.
I mean, I like it.
I like to consider the quarterbacks that you got.
They like to be right.
Hey, I'm here.
Yeah, I'm here.
Sure.
Sure.
For sure.
Of the team that you've talked.
No free releases.
No free release.
No free.
Do you have a, so growing up, you're from Georgia.
I don't know if the faculty were your favorite team.
But who is your favorite team growing up and do you have a favorite team?
And you're like, man, this would be an ideal landing spot.
Or you're just like, hey, whoever drafts me, they get the damn good football player.
Right.
Yeah, my favorite teen growing up, I had two teams.
I had two teams.
I was a 49th thing.
I was a Cowboys man growing up.
Just...
Cowboys!
Yeah, Dion.
Whoa, whoa, whoa.
Okay, okay, okay, okay.
Okay, prime, okay.
Yeah, front.
That why?
Okay.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Joe, why you say it like that?
Like something wrong with-
I mean, what you mean?
Joe, y'all ain't want shit in 30 years.
Joe, what you mean why I said?
I don't tell me that.
Yeah, that's how you acting.
The man said that was his squad.
That was his squad.
No, he said it was his squad because of prime.
He's not really a Cowboys fan.
He's a Dion Sanders fan.
It's a difference.
It's a difference.
Wow.
He hating Joe?
That man, big hating.
Boy, stay hating on us.
I don't know what wrong with him.
I mean, I love the Cowboys.
Matter of fact, I don't love them.
You see what they're doing to George Pickings.
Like I told you they was going to do,
but that's another conversation.
So what's this process been like for you?
you, AJ. I mean, obviously, you know, your career is a rap, and now you go through it,
you go to the combine, you do all the things. Obviously, you dealt with a little hamstring injury,
but you say that's, Avia, excuse me. You said that that is healed, but what has this process
been like? Has it been everything that you thought it would be? Absolutely. Everything I thought
it would be just me talking to the team, the process, the mindset I had going into it. So, yeah,
Everything is what I thought of would be.
Everything is the same.
It's fun.
It's a fun moment.
It's a blessing.
It's a blessing.
So that I dreamed.
Like I said,
dream that when I was a kid.
So I was very prepared.
And it's been fun, for sure.
Are you going to be in Atlanta with family?
So where are you going to watch the drive?
You're not in Pittsburgh, are you?
Yeah, I'm in Atlanta.
We go, we'll be somewhere in Atlanta tomorrow.
Okay.
You got something big playing?
I mean, you got the neighborhood coming over you?
They're putting, y'all, y'all skewing?
What's going on?
Yeah, I got, you know, I got my family flying down from New York coming.
Some of my people's coming.
Just something, celebrate, man.
It's big.
Okay.
Hey, hey.
Go ahead on, Joe.
Nah, I would leave on Joe.
Go ahead, Joe.
Hey, let's say for all the NFL teams that's watching or potentially could draft you,
what kind of player
what kind of kid they get, bro.
Again, first of all, they're getting a humble kid
with great work ethic.
They get a playmaker
and a very versatile player,
somebody who feel comfortable inside
and no matter where you put me,
I'm ready for us.
They're getting one of those tight players.
All right, I bet.
What high school did you go to?
Wesleyan High School, man.
Oh, you went to the lake, okay?
Oh, yeah.
I'm back, man.
Oh, yeah.
Nate Wiggins, AJ.
Yeah.
Oh, they got some dogs come up out.
Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Yeah.
They got a good, they got a good,
a girl basketball team,
Raven Johnson, and South Carolina.
She went to Westlake.
Yeah.
Oh, they're in Westlake.
Yeah.
For sure, there's a lot of people
that have walked through the mallways.
Okay, okay.
Hey, wait, wait, where your brother at, man?
Yeah, well, he wouldn't.
me.
Yeah, tell him
stop ducking this work, man.
Tell him stop ducking this work, man.
That man, step up, man.
That's that, man.
Step up.
Well, maybe y'all wish you the best of luck, man.
Congratulations.
Hey, one journey ends, another journey begins.
Get healthier.
Hey, because you got minicamp.
You get drafted on Thursday.
You probably go have minicap
either this week or next week.
Get ready to go out there and show them like,
hey, you know what?
y'all got a skill in the draft no matter where they take you
prove to them they got a skill in the draft
yes sir for sure good luck man congratulations
good good boy give him hell at that yeah appreciate your love
hey boy it got me think about my db days uh huh huh
you played dp too yeah yeah joe hey joe hey joe hey listen to me
joe you know when i was at organ state right
yeah i was i was i would i went to organ state as a d'i
They had to move me to receive it because the DB room was full.
And then when I got to Cincinnati, they wanted me to play DB in Cincinnati,
but the DB room was full in Cincinnati and then they moved me to receiver.
So that's how it happened.
Joe, that's how I ended up playing receiver.
I was the DB first.
He was a DB in high school?
Yeah, I was a DB.
I was actually safety.
You know, Joe, you play, you play all positions.
So I was the safety and I was the quarterback.
Joe, here's the thing.
Just how you know he was lying because if he was like that,
it don't matter if the DB room full.
the DB room full. If you like that, guess what? Somebody else got to move. If you hear me, yes.
If you hit me, hey, hey, Joe, what's up? I was him on every season. That's why they put me there.
You played the right position. I know, I know, but Joe, this is what he don't understand, Joe, is my footwork was so good, right? Think about if you ever seen me run routes, right, Joe? I'm probably the only person, Joe, run full speed and stop on a dime, boom, on two nickels.
right? But I could do the same thing going back with Joe.
You slew footed. I could do the same thing going back with you.
Oh Joe, you slew footed. You slew footed.
I know that's how I'm able to stop like that.
What are you talking about?
So you already, because you already planting on the teeth.
Because you got them slew, they already turned out.
So you already doing the teeth step.

Oh, I would. Come on.
Can you pull? I would buy it.
Cut through the defense like a hot knife through sponge cake.
That sounds delicious.
Oh, you're lucky.
I'm not a drug addict.
You're lucky I'm not an alcoholic.
You are.
I'm lucky I'm not a killer.
I love this team and I'm really trying to be a figure in their lives that they can rely on.
Oh.
Listen to soccer moms on the Iheart radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
But, you know, before we were talking about, we was talking about Leakus.
And we were talking, it's like,
Just think if he was still a number one option,
he still be giving you 25, 26 a night.
Yeah, he can do that.
He can do that.
That's why I'm not going to be surprised
if he plays at least two more seasons.
I'm not.
Oh, yeah.
I'm not.
Hold on.
Speaking of two more seasons,
I don't know the situation with his younger son.
His younger son, how much time,
how much longer until he gets an opportunity to play?
So he.
So he could come out next year.
So that'll be, next year for him will be 24.
So if he had, if he were to come out,
he would be playing with LeBron in his 25th season if LeBron was still around.
And you said LeBron is going to play two more years.
I do believe he can.
I'm not saying that he will.
I'm saying based on what I've seen, he can.
Right.
Yeah.
I think I think that's his end goal for some reason.
I don't know why.
I think playing with Bronny is one thing,
but I think achieving and reaching another feed that probably will never.
be done is being able playing the NBA with both both of my sons yeah yeah that's gonna say that
would be an amazing feat so I really think that might be the end goal average yeah I mean the average
I mean he average 20 uh 25 points a game he ever he had 20 seasons of at least 20 what 21 seasons
at least 25 20 season at least 25 he's had 23 straight seasons of at least 20 that's crazy
and he still give you you you know the rebounds and the assist yeah he's still efficient
he's still efficient he's still effective efficient plays the game the right way his IQ for the
game is out of his world bro he knows how to be effective no matter what position you put in
in me he knows how to be effective and it's showing and then when you think about it in the playoffs
Uncle Ocho, I'm going to put him above 25 points a game because, you know, you're always going to have a day or two, maybe even three sometimes of rest.
You ain't going to play no back to back.
You feel me?
True.
And if we know anything, that's going to play into LeBron's hands, the, you know, more rest he had because he's going to have to log in some minutes.
Oh, yeah, can you play 39 last night?
I looked up.
I looked, and I was like, he was at 27 at the end of the third quarter, and I was telling the guy that was sitting next to him, I said, they can't take him out.
I said he's going to have to play the whole
he's going to have to play the whole 12 minutes
which will put him about 39.
You look at Luke Canar played 42.
Rui played 43.
They can do it.
They bounce back on B.
They can bounce back a lot.
Yeah, yeah.
I mean, you see why all the stuff that he has to do.
I mean, he's doing the maintenance.
I mean, as soon as it's over, I mean, he got ice on his back.
He got ice on both knees.
He's getting his workout in.
Mike Maseas and the other people that,
just working his body, you know, just trying to do everything they possibly can to get that body recovered
ASAP.
He's probably getting a protein shake in him as soon as he's off to court.
Got two hours later, he's going to probably eat a solid meal because they probably left last night
to head to a OKC.
Oh, they might have left today, Joe.
No, they probably left the day.
They play tomorrow.
They play tomorrow Friday.
Okay, okay.
Okay.
I mean, Houston.
I mean, Houston.
I mean, Houston.
I mean, Houston.
they play Friday
What, um, what, what, what Aiden looked like
impersonate?
I know he ain't have a good game like he had the first game.
I'm just saying.
Oh, Joe.
The hands, man.
I just, I just, I just want to say, you're doing it.
You take mine.
I ain't use them no more than a serve their purpose here.
Take, they 50, 57 year old hands.
Hey, look.
Man.
You got to continue to big him up, though.
If you're the Lakers, because you're going to need.
Yeah.
You gonna need him, bro.
You gonna need him, bro.
You gonna need, I know he, he probably didn't do a whole hell of a lot last night,
but you gonna need that man.
You know what I mean?
Like, I don't know if Marcus Smart gonna be as far as he's been, you know,
I wanna believe Lou Canard can continue this with.
I mean, Luke Conard has been so efficient, eight of 13.
Marcus Mark and Smart was efficient, eight or 13.
Rui was five or 10.
Yeah.
I mean, Jerry Vanderbilt had to have been in and out.
La Ravia, he kind of got, I mean, sometimes, I mean, he's like a Brian dog to
Meehaw, bro. He'd just be all over the place. I mean, I love his effort. I love his hustle,
Joe, but I'm like, bro, calm down. Yeah, I agree with you. They got to come. Hey, listen,
I think it's a lot that's going on notice. Obviously, we talk about the Lakers defense,
which I think has been great considering the fact that Houston averages 115,
points a game.
Okay, Ocho, and they've been limited to, what, 90-some points every game?
Yep.
I mean, that's a hell of a feat in itself because you couldn't, you couldn't a lot of those
guys ward off, you know, if you're the Lakers, you cut a lot of those guys water off doing
the game, bro.
You're daring them dudes to beat you.
And they can't, I'm going to be honest with you.
From what I see outside of Kevin Durant, I don't think they got nobody else who can
get them.
A Leshungo goes off of like 22, 23, and 10, 12.
No.
Yeah.
I don't even, I don't, I can see him having a good game in Houston,
but he, it just don't seem that effective to me.
I'm going to be honest with you.
You ought to see how he dislodge people when he bang him,
because that's what he's trying to do.
He's just trying to dislodge people and, you know,
and shoot that soft hook over either shoulder.
But he'll load, man.
He a load.
Yeah, boy, they're going to need him, boy.
They're going to, hey.
But people, people talking about they need to put,
we want to see LeBron guard,
Katie and LeBron go at each other.
So what, they can both get tired of be nothing.
Katie about to be, what, Katie about to be 38,
LeBron about to be 41, gonna be heading the four, 42.
And you want them to play 39, 40 minutes,
and guard each other.
Those days are long gone, guys.
If y'all didn't see this in 20,
if y'all didn't see this in 2012,
if y'all didn't see this in 2013, 15, 16,
17, 18,
y'all might as well go and kiss the baby.
Yeah, I mean, it will be moments
throughout the game that it will.
But would they guard each other like they did in 2020?
That ain't happening.
Nah, uh-uh.
Nah.
That ain't happening.
No, so.
So,
Lakers 2 and O, whole serve at home.
Let's see if they didn't go to Houston and steal a victory.
Uh,
Victor William and Yama was placed in NBA's concussion protocol
after tumbling face on the court last night
and playoff lost to Portland.
Under league guidelines,
a player in concussion protocol must have at least 48 hours
of inactivity and recovery
and then hit several benchmarks without symptoms
before being cleared to play.
A player must undergo neurological testing
and receive a final clearance from a team doctor
in consultation in consultation with lead concussion protocol director.
Hey, so he got 48 hours, NFL player get by 48 seconds, so, Cho.
I got two fingers up.
How many fingers I got up, Joe?
Two, all right, get your hands in there.
Two.
All right.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
I thought about that.
It seems improbable that women would be cleared to play by them,
but Ms. Johnson wouldn't, the head coach, wouldn't speculate on the status.
The protocol is the protocol.
We'll just follow it is, and everyone else does and plan accordingly.
They can't beat, they can't be
without Winby guys.
You know what?
They can't.
And it goes to show you how fragile the game can be.
By one injury, it could change a whole series, bro.
You know what I mean?
Like, at one point, we thought the Spurs was going to be unstoppable.
They looked unstoppable here.
But then Wimby goes down.
Now you don't got no interior presence.
You guys just going there laying the ball up, dunking the ball.
It's like, man, like a totally different.
team, Uncle Ocho.
They do.
I mean, because they had,
when I look,
they were up 99 to 92.
And the next thing I know,
what do you call them,
go on a 9-0 run, and they got the lead.
Hey, and go on ahead and get that man this props, man.
Get Scoot Henderson this prop.
He bawled his ass out last night.
Hey, hey.
And what a lot of people don't remember,
Ang and Ocho is when school came out in the draft,
It was between him and Wimby,
who everybody was talking about
who was going to be the number one pick.
Yeah.
Until we've seen Wimby,
and we've seen what he could do.
But I think school has just been kind of flying
under the radar.
He's dealt with some injuries in his early career.
But, man, when I tell you,
he looked like a game changer in this series.
He's nice, boy.
Hey, listen, he's playing like this on the road.
I'm like, damn, if he can get back home,
if he can give him this at home or better,
spurs in trouble, man.
You saw what he shot for Joe?
What he shot?
Man, but we're 11 for 17, man.
Yeah, oh, he bought out.
Oh, yeah, he gets money.
For a nice 31.
All things being equal, of all the number ones,
I'm not so sure.
There might only be two that would go in front of Wemby.
Maybe Kareem and LeBron.
Who?
I'm not sure there's any other number ones overall.
Maybe Shaq, I don't know, Shaq.
But you look at Wemby and how skilled he is,
his ability to shoot the three.
Now, when Shaq.
if you put him in Shaq's time,
Shaq's coming out.
Because ain't nobody.
Shooting three,
and nobody care about that.
But in today's game,
I'm not so sure.
I'm not so sure Kareen would go over him in today's game
because he don't shoot the three.
There's a premium on three.
Yeah, man, look here.
Guys passing up layups.
Read out of his head had a layup yesterday
and kicked it out for a three.
I mean, let that sink in.
The guys are passing up layups.
Guys are passing up middies in order to kick out for a three.
That's where the game is right now.
So Wimby, and he can shoot the three.
Can catch and shoot, he can pull up and shoot,
he can put it on the floor, get to the midi.
Obviously, you can get all the way to the rim
and just get on his chippist's toes and dunk it on your ass.
Right, right.
He's a different animal.
I agree.
He's different, but without him, I don't.
think they got a chance to win neither.
I just, I see
in some of these series,
bro, I just see so many guys taking
ill-advised shots.
And I'm like, bro, this ain't the regular season.
Like some of these shots you're taking in the playoffs,
man, we can't have them, man.
You know what I mean?
Like, if we're on teams, you're up,
hey, bro, we can't have that right now.
You know what I mean? It's like,
there's a lot of young cats who are playing in
this playoff and they're asked to
you know, play huge minutes.
And some of them just, you can kind of
see it just from watching, you can see that they don't really
understand it. You know what I mean?
And I'm watching. I'm like,
bro, that was a terrible
shot.
And then you wonder why the guy laid it up on the other
end. Because you took a bad
shot and ain't none of your guys in position.
A long rebound, one path,
boom, got laid up on the other end.
And then you look it around like,
no, don't look around. You effed it up.
Yeah.
Yeah. It ain't, it ain't
but a couple guys that I've seen
in this postseason.
And obviously they are elite who can really get in that paint
and obviously know how to make a decision,
a good decision where we get a great shot,
a foul or a bucket.
You know what I mean?
Like guys who really know how to manipulate the game
in their favors.
There's only a few of them after Ocho that's playing right now,
you know, especially from a guard standpoint.
If you look at the way they played the game last night,
Joe and Ocho, and you see this a lot.
LeBron is going to get in the pick.
And he's going to want the ball at the nail
because he's wanted at the top
because he knows it's going to be harder
for you to come double.
Now he's going to, hey, either he's going to back you down,
but if you watch it, he's constantly looking.
Anybody comes?
Yeah, yeah.
Okay.
Yeah.
So he's constantly watching,
but he wants the ball at the nail,
which is in the middle of at the top
at the free throw line.
Because now it's going to be harder for you
to bring the double team.
Because I can see it because you've got to come from down.
You get on the corner,
you might come, but even then, I said, hey, y'all, hey, Thompson, you better take comfort,
they better bring some help.
Take, they better bring some help.
Yeah.
Y'all better bring some help.
Y'all ain't going to bring no help.
So he's going to keep.
Yeah.
Yeah.
He, hey, it's like he just bait.
Yes.
I dare you to come.
I would, if you come, I'm going to fire right over there to Luke Carnar.
He's going to hit you cross your head.
I wish you would come help.
And that's what he's doing.
He bait him, but now, listen, if you don't come, I'm just going to bully ball
until I get two feet to go.
And I will, hey, I will pump thank you, get you up in the air.
And then I'm going to the free throw line.
I'm going to get an A and one.
Yeah.
Hey, he got to figure it out.
Absolutely.
But if you notice, hey, he getting in that pick.
He gets a pig.
He's going to run that pig.
And as soon as they do, hey, now, hey, give me the ball.
Yeah.
You know why, though.
You run that pick and roll.
You got Singoon.
He in that drive.
He didn't drop.
He's waiting for you to come to him.
So now I got the lob, the aiding, or the kick out till,
or I got my layup or my floater.
It's just too many options.
This is why the Lakers don't play Kevin Durant like that.
You get in that picking road, we bliss and you gotta get that damn ball at your hand.
Ain't no hedging, ain't no drop, ain't nothing.
I'm getting the ball at your damn hands.
Got to, got to.
Because if you don't, the Grave was gonna pick you apart.
If they played KD like that, he had 45.
Well, you saw him in the first half.
He had the easiest,
easiest 20 I'd ever seen.
Yeah. And that drop coverage,
he's going to tell you what.
You got, you got to get the ball
out of his hands.
Mandatory. And so,
they did a great job of that. I thought,
JJ, the only problem I had with JJ,
they had a 15 point lead.
And they cut it down to like 12
and he got LeBron up the bench.
And they were, and before
they could get LeBron in, it was three.
No, take a time out, bro.
Quail that run. You got a quay.
hell that. I got
Joe and Ocho, I got to suppress that.
They cut a 15 point down, lead down to three
in two minutes.
Yeah. That was the only
thing, the only problem
I had with JJ last night. I thought he
called it, they had an unbelievable game playing
in place. I thought the guys executed
it extremely well. That was the only issue I had
last night. Yeah. I think
Houston and I think Houston
not having Stephen Adams
Oh, yeah, that hurt.
Yeah.
If they had him, if used to have him, he'll be a difference maker in this series.
He could sit, he could rebound and he can sit them solid-ass picks.
Yep, yep, yep.
And, you know, he's a guy who can get you a bucking the two down there up under their goal.
And they're missing Fred Van Fleet.
They're missing them two key opponents right now because Katie needs to them.
I think if they had Fred Van Fleet, they had a guy point guard.
They need a point guard.
They need somebody can get them into the offense.
And I pretty, look, Arm and Thompson, I mean, I'm in Thompson, but he's not a
point.
Yeah.
Reed Shepard, he's not a point.
Ethan, Tate, anybody they try to, that's not who and what they are.
They needed Van Fleet.
Because you can't, you can't run pick and roll with none of them guys.
Think about it.
Those guys ain't masters in the picking road.
You know what I mean?
Thompson, you're going to always go over.
You're going to make him shoot.
Shepherd, he's just not that type of a ball handling to where he can manipulate.
I'm just not going on.
I'm just not going under him because he can shoot the ball.
Yeah.
Yeah, yeah, you're going to fight over the top of him.
Yeah, for sure.
Yeah, but he ain't going to be able to change the game to where he's going to get you 35 and you're going to be like, oh, man, you know,
then I don't think that's going to happen.
He hasn't shown me he going to be able to do that in no playoff game.
