This episode of Nightcap is brought to you by KolaGuard, a non-invasive colon cancer screening test. Currently, colon cancer is the second leading cause of cancer-related deaths in the U.S. and is on the rise in people under the age of 50. But when caught at early stages, colon cancer is survivable in 90% of the people,
Starting point is 00:05:04 so screening and early detections are key to stages, colon cancer is survivable in 90% of the people, so screening and early detection are key to reducing overall colon cancer deaths. And a great one-of-a-kind way to feel more in control of your colon cancer screening is through the colar guard test, a prescription-based test with none of the prep that's required for a colonoscopy. The colar guard test is the only FDA-approved, non-invasive option that looks for both altered DNA and blood in your stool, which can indicate the presence of abnormal cells. This test offers convenience and ease of use, and the kit is delivered right to your door.
Starting point is 00:05:35 Once you complete the kit, it is returned to the lab and results are available within two weeks. Plus, it's affordable, most insured patients pay zero dollars. And if you do need a colonoscopy as a follow-up, most insurance plans cover that as well. So if you're 45 or older and at average risk, ask your health care provider about screening for colon cancer with the ColiGuard test. You can request a ColiGuard prescription today at coliguard.com slash podcast. The ColiGuard test is intended to screen adults 45 and older at average risk for colorectal
Starting point is 00:06:07 cancer. Do not use the coligard test if you've had adenomas, have inflammatory biode disease or certain hereditary syndromes or personal or family history of colorectal cancer. The coligard test is not a replacement for colonoscopy in high-risk patients. Coligard test performs in adult age 45 to 49 is estimated and based on a large clinical study of patients 50 and older. False positives and false negatives can occur. Coligard is available by prescription only. Ocho gives his list of best wide receiver duos at Chad Johnson.
Starting point is 00:06:54 He got number one, Chase Higgins. Number two, AJ Brown, Devontae Smith. Number three, Jeddah and Addison. Number four, Evan Zagadwin. Five, Armand Ross A. Brown, J Mo, number six, Hill Waddle, number seven, Atlanta's Drake London and Mooney, and the rest haven't played as a unit yet. Yeah, let me go to that.
Starting point is 00:07:17 All right, I had to pull that, I had to stand up for this too, cause you know, I got excited about this one. Obviously I'm not being biased. I actually have Chase and Higgins first for a reason. Hell, I played for the goddamn Bengals and they are phenomenal duo. Listen, AJ Brown and Devontae Smith, they just won the Superbowl. Yes.
Starting point is 00:07:35 Now again, they do, they, oh my God, how do I say this? I, I, and I don't mean to be rude. I don't mean to be rude. They don't throw the ball as much over in Philly as opposed to the Bengals You know, you know what I mean, but AJ Brown and Devontae Smith are one hell of a duo down there in Philly Jeddas and goddamn Jordan Addison boy. They had a hell of a season regards to who the quarterback is Sam Donah comes in there JJ McCarthy gets hurt. They do what they do best phenomenal duo Evan and Godwin What more can I say?
Starting point is 00:08:08 they did it with Tom Brady and they did it with Baker Mayfield and They're gonna do it again this year a man Rossi a man Rossi Brown and J Moe Nasty work. Mm-hmm nasty nasty work Now the only reason I have Tyree here and waddle so low and then the quotation is I got quarterback injury Yeah, obviously tool got hurt and everybody's numbers were affected by that Listen, I got London Drake and Mooney Mooney at seven. Yeah Mooney the rest the rest of them they haven't played together. I just look good because the names are paired together. You're looking at DK and George Pickens.
Starting point is 00:08:47 You're looking at Devontae Adams and Pooka Nakua. Yeah. I mean, listen, the names are good. They just haven't played together. So I need, I didn't give a number. I'm just curious, Chad, you like my list. Would you change it? I mean, the order to me, I think it is good.
Starting point is 00:09:04 The way I have it. Yeah, I mean, look, I think it is good the way I have it. Yeah, I mean, look, I think the thing first of all. What would you change? I'm not so sure I'd change anything on Joe. I would have Chase and Higgins too, because Chase is the best receiver in football. Now, some people might say, I don't know, it might be Jetta, but I think Chase right now is the number one. Right. So I don't think anybody's going to say AJ is better than him or Mike
Starting point is 00:09:26 Gavin, St. Brown, any of those guys. I think Chase, I mean, the Triple Crown validates what we know. Right. Right. Right. And then Higgins. So, okay, Higgins, Devontae, it's close, but I think because
Starting point is 00:09:38 Chase is number one, I like that group. I like AJ and Smitty. Number one, I like that group. I like AJ and Smitty. Me, sometimes I get a little perplexed and I'm like, damn, AJ, like, he won the Subo, but he's like complaining about catches. But I get it, but then again, I don't. At this point in time, Mojo, I would, not now.
Starting point is 00:10:04 After I won the Subo, it's all about celebration. Right. It's all about celebration. Me, I have this conversation behind closed doors with Jaylin, with Jaylin Hurts, the new OC, Sirianni. I mean, Ocho, he just like, that's just me. Yeah, you know what I don't like, Unc? What is?
Starting point is 00:10:24 This is the business side of things. You talk about him not having a production right or him not getting the catches or him not having the yards that he should because you know that you know how they gonna play with him later you know what they gonna do to him right they gonna come talk to him right they gonna say you know what maybe a year or two from now now based on your salary and what you're making and the numbers you putting up it really ain't making no sense paying you this kind of money when your production ain't what it should be. The look at your numbers. So they're using it against him so I understand what he's doing and why he wants to argue the fact well I want the
Starting point is 00:10:56 catches I need the catches so the production matches what my salary is. Right. So the minute your production don't match with the salary is what's the first thing you wanna do? They either wanna let you go, or they want you to take a pay cut. Ocho, but you know you're going to jail and hurt, you're not gonna have the numbers that Chase has. Yeah, I know, I know.
Starting point is 00:11:14 They got same coin back there. What receiver, Ocho, what receiver you know, got a 2,000 yard rusher, and they got a 100 catch receiver, and a 1,500 yard receiver with 15 touchdowns. When you got a 2,000, rusher and they got a hundred catch receiver and a 1,500 yard receiver with 15 touchdowns. When you got a 2,000, do you know how many carries you gotta get for 2,000 yards? Yeah, listen, I'm with you when you write. I'm with you when you write. All right guys. Hey, joining us now, uh, he's a former cowboy and a Carolina panther.
Starting point is 00:11:39 Welcome to the show, Xavier Worth It. Zay, what's up, bro? What's up, man? How y'all doing? Man, we doing- Brother Woods, what's up bro? What's up man, how y'all doing? Brother Woods, what's up bro? What's good with you? Man, shoot, if I had your hands I'd cut mine off, man. You know how it is. Now Tennessee, he's with Tennessee now. He played 100% of the Carolina defensive snap last season starting all 17 games, logging 1218 snaps. Over the last seven seasons, you've started every game you've played, your snap percentage for those seven seasons. Last year, 100.
Starting point is 00:12:10 The year before, 100. 99, 97, 96, 91. Talk about what it takes to play an NFL season. Play that long, that many snaps. What type, what are you doing the off season? What do you do during the season in order to make sure your body's able to hold up, game in and game out for 18 weeks?
Starting point is 00:12:34 Actually, 20 plus weeks when you're practically in the preseason. Yeah, I think just for me, I take it a little bit different. I take it like, I know guys, you know, they'll go right back into the off season, go right back and work and now I kind of play it like a like I'm a boxer You feel me? So I ain't trying to I ain't trying to peek and in May, you know, I'm gonna take my break I play all the snails on take you I'm gonna take the longest break This thing up I'm gonna wrap this thing up and
Starting point is 00:13:04 It's kind of like a boxing man. Kind of just pace myself doing small stuff here and there. And then, you know, really, really ramping it up in the summertime, you know, once we get to the season. But as far as right now, it's just, it's slow stuff doing some basic stuff. So I ain't trying to just push myself to the limit right now. And I think that's helped me a lot.
Starting point is 00:13:24 Most definitely just keeping some of that stress off my body. Diet, nutrition. So the fat. I'm going to let you take it on your diet, nutrition. Do you, I mean, your meal prep or do you watch what you eat? Do you have a PT? Do you have a personal trainer? Do you have a physio? I mean, what are some of the things that you do that you care to share?
Starting point is 00:13:45 I mean, maybe there's some secrets that you want to keep for yourself so everybody can get on the trade. He eat McDonald's? Nah, I ain't no dietitian. I ain't got no diet. You eat McDonald's? Nah, I eat McDonald's, but I eat just about probably everything else. Okay, okay, okay, okay.
Starting point is 00:14:01 I'm probably gonna eat everything else. You know, they ain't got no, they had no canes in Carolina, so I can't get no canes. Okay, yeah, yeah, that's like a Midwest to West Coast thing. It's big in the South, definitely big in the South. Oh, y'all got canes? I ain't seen no canes. I don't think we got them in Atlanta. I haven't seen them in Atlanta. It's a couple of them North, but I'm from Louisiana. Okay, okay, okay.
Starting point is 00:14:28 I was in Dallas for a little, I was in Dallas for a few. They got Mary Corner in Dallas. They do. They do. In Texas they got them in every corner of the city. They got Mary Corner like Waffle House in Dallas. So, chick-fil-a for sure. Okay. Damn! I got four kids. You can't die with four kids, but you gon' die with four kids. Drew, Drew, Drew, cuz you grabbing one of they chicken nuggets, you grabbing one of
Starting point is 00:14:56 they fries, you eating something. Oh I snack, and I snack, my wife keeps a snack pantry, she keep it lit. So it ain't no diet around this house. I just kind of, you know, if I'm looking like I'm, you know, the belly, we slow it down a little bit. But besides that, we eat what we eat. Man, what was, hey, I just want to know, what was it like playing in Dallas? I just like, from afar,
Starting point is 00:15:22 playing in Dallas. I just like, from afar, it's almost like it's a circus in a sense. Now, I don't want you to speak ill on Dallas. I just want to know what your experience was like, what it was like, you know, I'm not sure if you interact with Jerry, just in general, what is it like playing for the Cowboys, boss? It's different, you know.
Starting point is 00:15:44 I wouldn't be able to get a job, so. I'm gonna keep it. Yeah, keep, stay employed. That's what I said, keep it light. Stay employed, definitely. It's different, it's different than, you know, I done been to, I was in Minnesota, I was in Carolina, and now I'm going to Tennessee,
Starting point is 00:15:57 but it's different than those two. It's definitely. Yeah. I wouldn't say a circus, but I mean, everybody hear the stories, you know, you gotta get used to it. Right. You hear the stories of the tours, it isn't what it is, you feel me?
Starting point is 00:16:09 It is. That's true. Oh yeah, it was true. That's more definite, true. Yeah. Yeah. But you feel me? Now you see what, you see X, you see that's why I use the word circus.
Starting point is 00:16:22 That's the only reason, I mean no disrespect, but there's certain things you can't conduct, you can't listen. I'm not an owner Mm-hmm, but I'm not an owner, but if I'm serious about winning, you know for my team and my players I want them in the best the best situations. I don't have Certain things going on that take away from the end goal. You know, something like that takes away from the end goal I think he feel like I mean, I'm not I can't speak for him that take away from the end goal. To me, something like that takes away from the end goal. I think he feel like, I mean, I can't speak for him, but I think he feel like
Starting point is 00:16:51 that it's not a distraction, and it kinda helps with his bottom line. You know what I mean? So I feel like, you know, he gotta make his bread, and he feel like that's not a distraction for the players. In Dallas, I mean, that's the practice facility. That's like the eighth wonder in Dallas. Right, right.
Starting point is 00:17:09 They trying to get people in there to see it. Listen, this is the funny thing about it though. Remember American Gangster, right? Yeah, yeah. Denzel said, Denzel told Cuba Gooden Jr. you don't have to do nothing to Blue Magic. You don't have to change it. You don't have to do nothing.
Starting point is 00:17:24 That star on the helmet, the product is going to sell itself. You ain't got to do nothing extra. That's a fact. It just is. So whatever hit, we know what his bottom line is. There's a reason why he's the most, what's the franchise on? The most valuable franchise in all the world. He's the most valuable for a reason. Sports franchise. All the extra stuff you know you have to do. He's the most valuable for a reason. Sports franchise. Sports. So you look at basketball, football, soccer, cowboy. I was just curious what it was like to be there.
Starting point is 00:17:53 And then obviously with the Panthers, when my brother Bryce Young got benched, I don't know what happened. I don't know what kind of prayer he said. When he came back, no, I'm telling you. Man, he came back different. Most of the time when players get benched, they're a little gun shy. They don't play as efficient,
Starting point is 00:18:16 but he came back and played out his world. I mean, do you know what happened? Did somebody talk to him? I'm just curious, because he played so well after getting benched. I was like, well, God damn, this is the Bryce Young we saw at Alabama. Man, honestly, I feel like this is just a testament to just him, the person. Just the person he is.
Starting point is 00:18:35 I feel like it was just kind of like, you know, of course he didn't want to be benched, you know. Yeah. I mean, we was with him every day. We seen how it affected him at first. You know, nobody want to get benched. So, I feel like he was kind of throwing, he was throwing some fire. He was throwing, that was a bad, year one that was a bad situation. So all that was like just, you know, I won't speak ill on my former teammates, but just the situation that he had to
Starting point is 00:19:02 endure was just, it was tough on a record quarterback, you know Yes, that kind of fact that could kind of You know have a bad effect on man It kind of Sinked over into the next year when you see a little bit and you kind of just have to slow it down man Just kind of take a step back Take a step back. Take a little break. No, right. You just get your feet under you See, you know a lot of times you can learn a lot from just watching, which he had the opportunity to do.
Starting point is 00:19:27 You know, I see a lot of, and I see Tom Brady say, you know, sometimes the best thing for a real quarterback is to watch, and then you see, hey man, sometimes a real quarterback, the best thing for him is to play. It really just depends on the player, and it gotta depend on the team. What do you have around it?
Starting point is 00:19:43 Yeah, it really depends on the team and the player has around him. Yeah, it depend on the team and the player. It's by situation, it's by circumstance, it's whomever you got. So you can't factor in, you know, all right, all the quarterbacks gotta play, it ain't gonna work like that all the time. Right, right. If you look at it,
Starting point is 00:20:00 it's hard for me to see a scenario with Bryce Young hadn't had success. So you know, he's the number one quarterback coming out of high school. He wins the Heisman his first year starting. He's the first number one overall pick. Success, success, success, good things, good things, good things. And then he goes and like, damn, what happened? Am I not that Bryce Young that won the Heisman Trophy in Alabama?
Starting point is 00:20:21 Am I not the Bryce Young that was the number one overall pick. When you're used to having success, Zay, and all of a sudden you don't have it, you're like, dang it. It starts to play with your mind, because at this level, everybody was somebody at a level. Be it the JV, high school, college, everybody was the guy. Yeah. And now all of a sudden you get here and you just a guy
Starting point is 00:20:46 Yeah, it mess with you unless you strong here all that other stuff that talking is got to be here for you mentally Yeah, maybe you're one though Who we play we played a Green Bay playoff team made it no made it watch lit it up lit it up against Green Bay So he had his he even had his first in the year one where he showcased, you know, made it far. Lid it up, lit it up against Green Bay. So he had his, he even had his first in the year one where he showcased, you know, what he could do. What he could do, yeah. But it just, it was in bad circumstances. Year one, then year two, like I said, man, sometimes
Starting point is 00:21:15 you just gotta stick a little woo-sah. Just stick a little woo-sah to beat up on you. Hey, that woo-sah, that woo-sah helped. He came back firing. He came back firing, boy. Yeah, I'm excited, I'm excited. I'm excited for him this year too. Depending on what they do, obviously in the off season
Starting point is 00:21:29 and if they draft well, I know he's gonna have a really good year this year. Let me ask you this. What do you think about the, I mean, it's hard to develop a cohesive foundation when you have constant turnover at the head coach position. And we've seen a lot of that in Carolina. Now, it seems like analysis is going to come back for a second year, but there was a stretch
Starting point is 00:21:53 there that coaches would like getting one year and gone. They get like 18, 19 games and they're gone. What do you? 18, 19. Fine. Fine games and gone. You talking about 18? What do you think are some of the reasons that Carolina hasn't been, because look, everybody got some good players.
Starting point is 00:22:14 Obviously some teams have better players than others, but the constant turnover in the coaching side, you got this defense this year, you got this defense next year, this offense, this philosophy, yada yada yada What do you think what can Carolina do to kind of get back on the track where Carolina is one of those teams that's competing? I mean person Changes constant changes constant so that is gonna happen But as far as just having the same guy at the top, I think that that matters the most
Starting point is 00:22:43 Assistance DC is gonna leave but having the same guy at the top. So I'm out of the most I think I was there for three years right there. I had different head coach. I have four different head coaches where they've been rule Wilkes Wilkes Who we had Frank and then Dave Frank and Wilkes was your two and then Dave And so just having the same guy at the top I think it kind of just levels everybody out. You get a consistent Consistent voice. Yeah, consistent voice just throughout the building but not having that and keeping it and changing it every year
Starting point is 00:23:18 Twice a year sometimes that's different. I was five head coaches because last year we went from Frank to Tabor and then year one was ruled to Wook. So that's five different voices. And so just having that same guy with Dave last year and then This year with them. I think I think they'll do a lot better. Yeah What do you go with your goals expectations this year? over there down in Tennessee? If you had any, we, I mean, I mean, I set goals before every season.
Starting point is 00:23:52 I mean, I'm sure I'm sure you do as well. Just play consistent ball. I mean, just play consistent ball. I think it's our we just had a defense last year in Charlotte in Carolina. We didn't have the best year. So Just being able to bounce back just for me personally and just play consistent good ball Uh this year up there and get some wins Because at this point this point, you know, we kind of we kind of i'm kind of a lot of years of a career Uh, but just winning is the ultimate ultimate goal
Starting point is 00:24:23 But also just doing my one of 11 and just playing consistent ball and just helping the team win. I like it, I like it, I like it. They are historically on the 10% of six round picks make it to year five. You just finished year eight. And I mean, people don't realize that a lot of times
Starting point is 00:24:43 when they draft six themselves around picks, y'all supposed to, we were supposed to be camp bodies. And we just go bring somebody else, we go build a space, we go get y'all a uniform. We go get y'all an F-Dump number. You probably had number 87 as a DB. They gave me number one, and I was the 192nd pick. So when you think about what you've been able to accomplish being a sixth round draft pick, and only 10% of those make it to year five, and here you are about to head into year nine.
Starting point is 00:25:12 When you look back and say, damn, I did that. What makes you most proud of what you've been able to accomplish? Johnson is the first offense from being a sixth round pick and them saying, basically like, we played play the first preseason second preseason game It's like I played good enough to stay I got injured that game I played I played good enough and it was like well, you know, you kind of may have been a campfire you kind of The guys that got dropped it out to me they make it either so it's just a testament
Starting point is 00:25:44 But you know ever since like ever since halfway through I was playing sparely special teams my rookie year Halfway through the year I bet got hurt and I started and so and I've been starting ever since Every game I play I've been starting ever since not till the young guys You don't matter where you was drafted at. I was out of six round 191 I've been starting every game since halfway through my rookie year. And so, and then just the money, the money been, the money been nice. Now I got, I got a few kids. They, they, they work in care of. Hey, I was about to bring that up. You just purchased a smoothie king. You've been behind
Starting point is 00:26:19 the counter learning these recipes. Let's be on a, oh Joe, where your smoothie king at first of all? Cause I need to know where I can come and get that large smoothie for free. That one, I just want one. For free? Come on, huh? It's in North Atlanta. Oh yeah? Come on through. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Come on through. Okay. Come on through. Come on. I'll make you, yeah, got some smoothies on deck. Yeah, yeah. That one's up. You live in Atlanta or you live in Louisiana? Atlanta. Yeah, Atlanta. Okay, okay, okay. And then Louisiana.
Starting point is 00:26:48 And then Louisiana. But my family, that's the country, man. I'm from North Louisiana, so it's the country. Okay. I got you, I got you, I got you, I got you. Hey, I'm just reading this NFL report that gave the Panthers a D for travel, citing fewer players feel they have a comfortable amount of personal space on team Because the coaches moved the first class and you guys got with bump to the back
Starting point is 00:27:12 Yeah, that was a little different When we get first class on the way back and we're gonna wait back and first class the neck on the way up the next Way gay on the way, but you lose you in the back and the coach You're in the back, but but I only I flew I played 14 years The only time that the players that I remember that we got first class is that I was in Baltimore for two years Other than that we in the back the coaches and you know the owners of mr. B when he flew and his wife and Mike and his wife they got first class the players didn't get first class
Starting point is 00:27:53 that's a thing it's a little different now it's a little different yeah hey let me borrow your good hill man let me go back and get somebody so good man listen we Cincinnati They flew us first class especially seniority seniority always got you got to sit up front and that And them seats left back to we need I need that. Oh, yeah I need that Y'all get laid-down seats. Oh, yeah Oh yeah, yeah, for sure. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:28:21 It ain't our play. We getting them laid out. We getting them laid out. What kind of play? What kind of play y'all got? He was in 1970. They had the damn. The play like this in Old Joe?
Starting point is 00:28:32 You might be able to do this, but that's it. You ain't laying down. Well, I'm joining Zay back all the way. That's the best line. That's the line. Oh, man. Hey Hey Xavier, appreciate your man joining us. Xavier Woods, he's a cowboy, he was a panther, and now he's headed to the Tennessee Titans. Tennessee Titans. Man, congratulations on all the success. Hope the family's doing well. Before I
Starting point is 00:28:58 get you out of here, how's the family? The family good? Wife, the kids, everybody good? Mom, dad, everybody good? Yeah, the wife and kids, they're they don't go they upset now. I'm trying to be pleased kids a bit nice late, but I got some light crawlers. So Relate it's very late. How long the kids you don't mind me asking five four three and two months You'll be busy you practice it when you get home down. I'm doing I'm doing the Lord's work Be fruitful and multiply Congratulations stay healthy man. Hopefully you can keep this continue this creek or playing at least 90% of the snaps
Starting point is 00:29:40 Oh, yeah, look congratulations on a good great career thus far. Go out there, ball out, stay healthy, and we'll talk to you down the road. Hey, tell Ligeria Snead he can't come with me too when you get a chance. All right, man, I got you. I got you. Cheetah over there too now. Huh?
Starting point is 00:29:58 Cheetah over there too now. Man, he don't want no smoke. Why he don't want no smoke? Baby Roy, thank you, man. Thanks for joining us tonight, man. Appreciate smoke. Thank you for joining us tonight man. Appreciate you. Thank you. I'm gonna find out where he going.
Starting point is 00:30:16 Where that smoothie king is. I'm gonna go get me a big old smoothie. They got them big ones. Yeah, in North Atlanta. It can't be, we gonna figure it out. Well, I live in North Atlanta, but I don't know. But I, I mean. Listen, you got, how big in North Atlanta?
Starting point is 00:30:34 Ain't that big, you just type up smoothie kings and you can figure out which one it is. Bro, you know what I mean, smoothie kings in North Atlanta. A lot of them? Yeah. No, my bad, my bad, my bad. But it might, I don't know where it is.
Starting point is 00:30:46 I mean, it might be Buckhead, it might be, you know, Little Father North. Right, right, right, right, right. But we'll find out what it is. I want you to check this out. Pre-agent quarterback, Mac Jones, is signing with the 49ers a two-year deal, seven million dollars, with five million guaranteed.
Starting point is 00:31:00 Jones wanted the opportunity to work with 49ers head coach, Kyle Shanahan. Will Kyle Shanahan be able? Yes. Revive Mike Jones career. Yes. Because for all intents and purposes, Coach Jones, we thought that's where he was going before they traded up to take Trey Lance. I thought that would have been perfect. Because you better tell me, I believe he's just as athletic or I'm just as strong as Ron Purdy. Hold on. Think about if you took Mac Jones and where you were, you'd have kept all those first round picks. You wouldn't have had to give up all of that.
Starting point is 00:31:31 But hey, I do think, I do think because I think Mac Jones was really good in his rookie season. When he had an offensive head, when he had an offensive coordinator, Josh McDaniel in his ear, some reason, some, for some unknown reason to me, like, oh, you know what? I think we're going to put two guys in his ear that's never called an offensive player in their life. I think that'll work out okay, Ocho. And it was terrible.
Starting point is 00:31:57 It didn't. They didn't. But hold on. I got a question. Huh? Yes. Something you just said, when you said about him going to the 49ers about reviving something about him playing the position of quarterback
Starting point is 00:32:06 Mm-hmm now if I'm not mistaken they do have Brock Purdy But I'm pretty who who commands a 35 40 million dollar salary coming up soon, huh? Yeah, so exactly exactly what part of Reviving his quarterback career is Shanahan gonna do he gonna get an opportunity to see how you do things and guess what? Maybe Brock Purdy say he don't want to play up. Well, he don't want that. Cause sometimes I gotta have, I gotta get leverage on Yoja. I gotta get leverage. Nah, you know, ain't no leverage.
Starting point is 00:32:34 Yeah, not with that. Okay. Not when you command, not when you commit, when you getting ready to make that kind of money. Ain't no leverage. Guess what? Brett Favre didn't think they had no leverage either, did he? Aaron Rodgers didn't think they didn't have no leverage either, did they?
Starting point is 00:32:50 Now hold on. Now we're talking about... Ocho, you know how these teams work. These are two totally different types of scenarios. You know, Ocho, you know how these teams work. Oh yeah, yeah, I know, I know, I know. I know what you're saying. Hold on.
Starting point is 00:33:03 Ocho, they'll eat that money like that money like, they'll eat dead money. Think about the money that the Broncos, they paid Russell Wilson down to 40 million. Right. Can I ask you a question? Yes. We saw a small sample size of Mac Jones, right? Yes. Patrice. Yes.
Starting point is 00:33:23 We saw a small sample size of Mac Jones, where was he. Patrice. Yes. We saw a small symbol size of Mac Jones. Where was he last year? Jacksonville. At Jacksonville. Mm-hmm. So all of a sudden, just, just, God, for some reason, that he might be the answer if things don't work out with Brock, with Brock Purdy.
Starting point is 00:33:37 Yes. Okay, I'm just, okay, I'm with you. I like, I like, I like how you got it like that. But I, but what I like, if you think about it, it Oh Joe if you look at these guys that had resurges look at a Sam Darnall look at a Gino Smith It was a talent around them round him that me You know all of a sudden he got DK he had locket. He has Smith and Jigba you look at Sam Darnall He had Addison. He had Hawkinson. he had Jeddah, he had Jones in the backfield. So now if I put complimentary pieces around him, I'm not saying sometimes I
Starting point is 00:34:11 gotta have an airboat. Right. I don't need that much water in order to get to where I need to get to, old Joe. Come on, man. Now if I'm on a pontoon, I need a lot of water, because that thing hit me. He's a boy, you see. So I'm not saying that he's a guy that can elevate. I'm saying maybe he needs a situation where guys need to elevate him. Right.
Starting point is 00:34:34 Because if you look at him when he was in Alabama, when he had Waddle, when he had Devontae, when he had Metchi, when he had Nigee in the backfield, how did he look, old Joe? Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. Let's think about what they got over there with the 49ers now. They don't have nothing like what you just named. Now they have some very, very, very good players. Good players, yeah.
Starting point is 00:34:56 Brandy Jennings, the real deal. No, you mean IU? No, I said, no, Brandy Jennings. Brandy Jennings for where? In Ken's stand-up fan friends? For the manners! Brandon Jennings? Yeah!
Starting point is 00:35:14 Brandon Jennings, what position do you play, Ocho? Receiving one. Juwan Jennings? Oh, Juwan Jennings, I'm tripping. You got me thinking about basketball. I'm not Brandon Jennings the basketball player? Yeah, I'm talking about Juwan Jinn, Juwan Jinn. You got, listen, who was talking about Brandon Jinn this earlier? Uh, P. Master P. Okay, and he's still got, yeah, Juwan Jinn is nice.
Starting point is 00:35:33 Purcell came on, you know, last, now, are you coming off an injury? Yeah, they still got, they still got, uh, Kittle. Coming back, coming back. Let's see how he can back and hold up. I mean, I see back and hold up. I mean, listen, I think they're gonna be all right. They still need that boy. Yeah. You know what I mean? They still need that man, listen, that boy.
Starting point is 00:35:59 I love Juwan Jennings. I love what they have. They still need that doll. Like Master P said, they still need that doll. And I'm talking about from a receiver standpoint, can do it all. Yes. Oh Joe, did you see this?
Starting point is 00:36:15 There was a picture posted February 2nd, 2020. D-Hop signed with the Ravens on a one year deal. He posted this picture five years ago. How many touchdowns would this trio go for in total? Now or back, now? Oh, back then. Now or back then? Back then.
Starting point is 00:36:40 Well, we knew what it went for because we knew Derek Henry was that, Derek Henry was still playing at the top of his game. Lamar is even better than he was back then. D-Hop is not the same receiver that he was back then. It's different. I mean, I'm surprised that as many carries as Henry has had, the workload that he's had to endure, that he's able to run the football, Ocho. Like he's been able to run the football. I Joe, why he's been able to run the football. I think they say this the ninth highest rush toe.
Starting point is 00:37:08 He had the ninth highest rush total in NFL history. So I think that's what it was. Cause you look at the 2000 yard rushes. So you go, OJ, you go ED, you go TD, you go Jamal or Lewis, you go Saquon, Chris Johnson, that's six. I think that's more than six though. Who else? Oh, OJ, ED, TD, Chris Johnson, Saquon, Derek Henry. Who else?
Starting point is 00:37:45 And it had to be another 2,000 yard Russia. Isn't it? Don't you? I got six. I thought it was like seven or eight. Who we missing? OJ and 73. Wait, what about AD?
Starting point is 00:38:00 AD. All day. Yes, yes, yes. Okay. I know we missing somebody.. I know we've missed somebody Yeah, we got OJ did it first then Edie TD did it AP or AD did it Prince Johnson say Kwan and There hitter that's seven
Starting point is 00:38:34 Okay, Barry Barry is the eight bears. That's right. I'm tripping. I'm trying I gotta forget Barry man. Yeah yeah so that's it. So that was a that was a so I mean think about the man rushed for 1921 yards and uh he didn't win the Russian title. Man you know your grandpa rushed for 1900 yards and didn't win the Russian title. Now there's a guy that went for 2005 that beat us out. Boy, I mean look, that guy in the middle with that suit on, L Jack and the guy to the left, D Henry. He can come in and give you bird downs, things of that nature. I don't think he's gonna be the D Hop that he that he was in Houston, the D-Hawk that he was his first couple years in Arizona. He's not that anymore, Ocho.
Starting point is 00:39:10 He's solid. I mean, listen, I think, honestly, when it comes to that, what he was in Arizona, what he was in Houston, if the opportunity presented itself and he put it in the same positions he had back then, I think he would still be the same. Why you think you don't put him in that position?
Starting point is 00:39:27 Yeah. He's not going to have to be that anyway, especially that where he's going. No, that's what I'm saying. I don't, I don't. Oh Joe, you watch the games, oh Joe. And I love, and I love D-Hawk. He's, he, he, he can't run like he once could. Now he was never Tyree.
Starting point is 00:39:41 Right, right, right. He was able to separate. He was able to win. Now. I mean, look, nobody expects him to be, what year is this for him? Probably what, year 11, year 12? Maybe more. What year is this for him, Ash?
Starting point is 00:39:53 12? What you think? What year you think this is for him? I'm not sure. I think he's probably. I'm gonna say year 12. Let's go with year 12. It might be 13. Ask what year this is for D-Hawk. Might be 13. Because the thing is on show, like when you Tyreek, Tyreek was able to get some still get some couple years in for the simple fact
Starting point is 00:40:25 So what he ain't 4-2 no more he's 4-4 So, you know I'm saying he gonna get a couple extra years just because he don't run 4-2 no more But he still run 4-4. 4-4. Yeah Yeah, it's gonna be 13. Yeah 13. Yeah, so think about this. Oh Joe. So when you fold six, oh Joe cover it up Unless you big like me more tight in But I look like you said they got a safe flowers they got statement they got likely it seems like for all intents and purposes Angels coming back mark Andrews is still there. There was some talk about he might be a cap casually He might be a trade a candidate
Starting point is 00:41:05 All we know right now that hasn't happened yet. So we'll see how it is So yeah, I think he'll be coming in and used in situations Kind of like he was used in in in in a in a Kansas City. Yeah Because like I said, like you got it. You got to keep likely on the field. You got to keep the Flowers in basement on the field those you two guys now. It's gonna be interesting to see what they do with a Aguilar, I think he's still there. Oh now I forgot. Yeah And you still getting you got Mark Andrews, so it's gonna be interesting dynamic. I'm glad The Hawk want to continue to play I'm glad the Raven Ravens, because the Ravens like veterans. They like guys with a veteran experience, great locker room guys,
Starting point is 00:41:48 great presence. They value, they really value that. What do you expect? I expect Lamar to be great. I expect Dee Henry to do what he does. I don't know if another 1,900 yard season, but hey, could he get, I mean, we'd probably be disappointed if Dee Henry don't rush for 1,500 yards, because that's all he does. Yeah, he probably will. And I think obviously Lamar is going to be great from the pocket as well. We know he can be a dual threat, but he's shown his growth as a passer,
Starting point is 00:42:17 being able to make plays off script. That's why I think Dee Hopper's going to have a good year. Zay Flowers is going to do what he does. Rashad Bateman is gonna take advantage of the opportunities that he gets. And I think the Ravens, Ravens gonna be good. They gonna be good. Yeah, so. They gonna be good.
Starting point is 00:42:35 I mean, they ain't gonna win the AFC North, but they gonna be good. You know, so we know who taking that AFC North, huh? Chad, I know y'all agree with me, right? Baltimore. Come again? The Ravens. Hold on, I hear static.
Starting point is 00:42:53 Hold on, is something wrong with your mic? Yeah, something must be wrong with your mic. Ravens. Who they? Wendy. Ravens Who they Windy Also check this out Daniel Jones signed with the Colts Reports sound like they may be a quarterback competition between him and Anthony Richardson and please Oh Joe Tell me the time you ever seen somebody sign a backup for 14 million dollars
Starting point is 00:43:21 If I if they've tried to receive it you making five million. They paid the wide receiver that they brought in. Seventeen million. What you tell me what you thinking? Yeah, I know what it is. It's funny how they play that game, huh? It's funny. It's funny how they play that game. What you mean what game they playing? What you playing? You saw what it was when he was in New York, right? Yes. Okay, so you bring him in for a quarterback competition for what? But maybe it's a good thing, huh? Maybe this is a good thing for Anthony Richardson. You mean you tell me, you mean to tell me you're going to bring somebody in to beat me out in my
Starting point is 00:43:59 spot after you already saw what he was able to do Don't don't get me started. Oh Joe. I think it's a good thing fancy rich Maybe this will propel him not that he needs motivation anyway He doesn't need no motivation not at the quarterback position You don't but this is this and get you in line real quick because they send the message We don't believe in you. We don't think you're the long-term answer For our team. They benched his ass last year. That should have been a clear message right there.
Starting point is 00:44:28 I mean, but you know, they benched him for a specific reason. We know why. Let me ask you a question. Let me ask you a question. If Tom Brady came out, if Patrick Mahomes came out of the game, they getting benched next game? Absolutely not. Thank you.
Starting point is 00:44:41 Tell me the backup player. Tell me the backup player in the NFL that's making 14 million. Any position. Tell me the backup player that's making $14 million. It probably ain't none. Exactly. So what'd they take? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:44:58 That's crazy how they play. That's crazy. Who do? Daniel Jones got some, uh, got some dirt or somebody on somebody. So he might have a, he might have a tape or somebody would go. Ain't no telling. Hey, well 14. Well, one year or two year.
Starting point is 00:45:16 One year. God. Yes. Yeah. Yeah. He, he, he knows something. He probably know what he probably know where they got Jimmy Hoffa. Yeah. Yeah. He, he, he knows something. He probably know what, he probably know what they got Jimmy Hoff at, boy. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:45:30 So it's, uh, you're right. Oh, tell me, I, this is a clear indication. I don't know when the coaches talk or when the organization talk, if Anthony Richardson was listening, they got his undivided attention now. They got his undivided attention, Ojo. Undivided. Ojo! Rogers was released by the Jets today. Negotiations are ongoing between the Steelers and Rogers.
Starting point is 00:45:59 Here's what Mike Floreo is reporting. The ball is reportedly in Aaron Rodgers' court. The Steelers are simply waiting for a decision from Rodgers. Regardless, it's tempting to think that Rodgers, who not long ago was potentially out of options, has found a way to make it all about himself again. In just two, in two weeks, Rodgers has gone from the guy who has reached out to the Giants,
Starting point is 00:46:21 to a guy who has options. Whether he's doing it on purpose or just doing what he does, he's become the center of the NFL's attention for maybe one last time. We're focused on him. We're talking about him. We're not. As long as the Steelers don't move on
Starting point is 00:46:38 to another veteran quarterback, he can take his time. At some point, however, they'll need an answer. And when he gives them one, He'll likely complain about all the attention that he's handling of the situation naturally generated Look, oh Joe you and I weren't talking about it. No, we were talking about the people that had gotten sad, right? We talked about like it was a possibility that he was gonna get released They made us in like look this is what we want you to do to John said they released a statement said no We're moving on they thanked him for the two years that he was there blah blah blah, but After the day if he ain't signed ain't no more. I'll just talk
Starting point is 00:47:16 Yeah, not for me now. Maybe you want to break it up a a let's let's talk about this right here Okay, fine, but until he signs Right There really is a no-show I'm saying, hey, let's talk about this right here. Okay, fine. But until he signs, I don't really know. There really isn't no joke. Right, and I have a question. Yes, sir. What other veteran quarterbacks are out there right now outside of Aaron Rodgers?
Starting point is 00:47:35 Russell Wilson. Okay, Russell Wilson, to go back. I think Russell Wilson is visiting the New York Giants and the Cleveland Browns, if I'm not mistaken. Now outside of Russell Wilson, who else is out there? Or is that it that I think that's pretty much it oh Joe. Yeah, so I mean I mean Kirk Rogers cousins It seems like cousins could be available via trade, but nobody trained because he got that money guaranteed
Starting point is 00:48:02 Now y'all releasing y'all pay that money and then we'll pick him up at minimum. Ah, I see, I got you. But I ain't trying to take on somebody that got guaranteed money. I ain't trying to pay that. Y'all, hey, I'm not finna bail you guys out for your bad decision.
Starting point is 00:48:18 You made that decision. And I told you, Ocho, last year, I said, Ocho, it doesn't make sense. I say, at his absolute best, he's got two years. I said, Ocho, it doesn't make sense. I say, at his absolute best, he's got two years. I said, Ocho, if you sign him and he got one, you stuck. Yeah. You stuck like with a bad song on an elevator. And damn, you gotta go to the top
Starting point is 00:48:36 and just stop it at every floor in between. Y'all know what I say? I said, Ocho, I get what you're saying, Ocho. It's till the young guy comes along, I said, but Ocho, to pay this kind of money and it could potentially only be a one-year deal, you got a hundred million fully guaranteed on a hundred and eighty million dollar contract. And lo and behold, he really didn't make it through the whole year. Right. I just, you know, I'm'm like man. That's crazy. Well, listen, Aaron Rodgers is in a good place
Starting point is 00:49:11 He's in a good place. Oh James Winston available also Okay, I can see that I can see the move I can see I can see that move I can see that What about Michael is a black hole available to? I can see the move. I can see that move. I can see that. What about Flacco? Isn't Flacco available too? I said Flacco's available too. Because Flacco was in Indy last year, and if he was still there, there would be no need to sign Daniel Jones.
Starting point is 00:49:34 So in fact, if they sign Daniel Jones, probably gives me the indication that Flacco is also a free agent. Could Flacco circle back and be in Cleveland? Sure. I like that. Could he be a play in the Giants? No, that's crazy, man. Now that I think about it,
Starting point is 00:49:56 I'm trying to figure out who fits what and who fits where, but listen, we got- Garnam and Chu just got released also. Yep. Man, listen, with DK and Pickens, well, you get a gunslinger now. Boy, you can make some magic, boy. They let Najay Harris go.
Starting point is 00:50:18 Yeah, I think he signed with the Chargers. Okay, yeah, he did go with the Chargers. Hey, Mike, William just signed back with the Chargers, too, on a one-year. Did he? Yeah, he went back. Yeah, he went back. But you think about it, if you go with this. Hey Mike. William just signed back with the Chargers to on a one-year. Did he? Yeah, he went back Yeah, you think about if you go back and look at Pittsburgh then last first rounders, they haven't gotten a second contract All the first run they declined a fifth-year option I
Starting point is 00:50:41 Think it's like the last four I saw I saw this in the paper today They ain't paying paying out on uh, I think Bush you remember Bush the linebacker they got a thing from Michigan Yeah, they're played at Florida State Devin not Devin Devin Bush. Yeah. Yeah, no, I think that might have been his dad that might have been him though Yeah, yeah, no, I think that might have been his dad that might have been him though They declined his fifth year option So Yes, ash. I read a newspaper today. I got a I got the USA today At the hotel I got the USA today at the hotel today. So that's George said the same thing
Starting point is 00:51:22 Oh you read newspaper that little damn you make it seem like I can't read or something. I can look at the picture and the full of, uh, but yeah, it was, uh, it's going to be, it's going to be interesting to see. I'm ready to see what he's saying. I'm ready to see at this, this, uh, uh, with this, uh, legal tampering period, we kind of got an indication before, you know what I'm saying, such and such going on. But now we kind of know. So now, now we just shift your focus like, okay, draft who's going where, what's going
Starting point is 00:51:56 to be done? Are there going to be any more moves? Are there any more moves to be made? Yeah, I'm excited. I'm excited for that draft. What you got? What you got one, two, and three? What you got? What you got one two and three? What you think?
Starting point is 00:52:08 Honestly Ocho this is might be the I have no idea. I mean people say Abdul Carter people say Cam mmm, the only I mean, I Mean people are kind of like cool. I mean, now I see reports, Shadour might slide out of the top 10. He might slide way down. He might even slide out of the first mile. Like, well damn. I just don't, what I don't understand, Ocho, how can a guy move up or down and a guy ain't
Starting point is 00:52:38 played football in three months? sports. It's all on, it's all on team needs. And then the needs of the team that are picking in the first five, they need a quarterback. There's more than one, there are more than three teams in the first five or six picks that need quarterbacks. They're not going to play that game just out of spite. Just out of spite. No, they They not finna play that game. Just out of spite. Just out of spite. No, they not gonna play that game. But, I don't know. All right guys, it's time for our final segment of the evening.
Starting point is 00:53:13 It's time for Q and A. We leaving already? After this segment? We just started. Manette. Manette said, my two favorite chocolate men online. Appreciate you. That's all.
Starting point is 00:53:28 Thank you Manette. I think Ocho loved it. Let me get some of this oil off. I'm an oily guy, see that oil? Got that oil out of there. Yeah. Nah. Word on your... Man, I ain't never seen nobody that got a bladder worse than mine.
Starting point is 00:54:03 I ain't never seen nobody that got a bladder worse than mine. I ain't. You know, we drink a little bit of water. Ash, get off there. Just because you can go 24 hours when I go to the bathroom, Ash, don't be, don't be clouded on me. Cause you know, yeah, as you get older, don't worry about it. Don't worry about it. Don't worry about it
Starting point is 00:54:25 I can't wait you get your ass in your 50s Whoa Hey, I got my favorite chocolate man online. Appreciate you. That's all. Are you talking about me? Who is that who is that? Oh, no, oh you look a little ashy. I bet that's your camera I Do yeah, check what your face don't know. Oh, Joe, you look a little ashy. Maybe that's your camera. I do? Yeah. Chad, what y'all think?
Starting point is 00:54:47 Don't want your look ashy. Where at? What's wrong? What's wrong with me? I don't look ashy. There's something wrong with your camera. Nah. Hey, Chad, what y'all think?
Starting point is 00:55:03 Where I look ashy at? I look good, but I don't know what you're trippin' about. I look ashy at? I look good, boy. I don't know where you trippin', boy. I ain't say you didn't look good, I say you ashy. How I'ma be ashy? Yeah. I ain't ashy, I put lotion on this morning. Man, it's tomorrow.
Starting point is 00:55:23 Cory B. Shaven had an opportunity to meet bro Shannon today at Bennett's. Got a laporte that he autographed. Appreciate you. What are you and Chad doing? Uh, finishing up night cap. I'm going to bed. Hey, I got a flight. I fly to New York in the morning.
Starting point is 00:55:40 To do what? Oh, I got a little, I got a meeting. I got a meeting I got a meeting too a little meeting with Netflix and then I have to do something for EMLS. Okay. Josh R. 908. Oh wait hold on huh I forgot to tell you what I'm going to see I'm going to see the Broadway play Othello you know Denzel is performing. I heard about that. I heard it's great. I'm going I'm I saw, I've only been to one Broadway play, Ocho. What you saw?
Starting point is 00:56:08 I saw Samuel Jackson and Dr. King. Okay, okay, okay, okay, okay, okay. That's a lie, that's a lie. Josh, R908, it don't matter. Pull growing pork loin, Bitcoin. Look and join. Legitify. Ocho, Ocho, if you don't, I did not have any idea that thing was gonna take off like it did.
Starting point is 00:56:28 But Ocho, you don't realize how many pictures I took today. Just hold on to five. Hey, that joke is funny, man. Jay Andy, hey, Ocho. don't let a fool you Joker putting numbers up against sinners that are plumbers and be barely on the court He hasn't played in Denver since 2000 hadn't played in Denver since 2019 You got players like 80 and cat scared to play the five mmm
Starting point is 00:57:00 bro I'm like, yeah, but y'all think it seems like everybody that, look, everybody ain't gonna be Joker. Just like everybody wasn't Jordan. So what? Everybody ain't Kobe. Y'all think it seems like Kobe, every guy Kobe went against
Starting point is 00:57:16 had Jordan level defending abilities. Or every guy Jordan went against had Kobe Bryant defending abilities. Yo, come on man, get ready. All I know, whatever he, whoever he's going to get, he's putting up 29, 13 and 11. That's all I know. Every time, no matter who it is. That's all I know.
Starting point is 00:57:39 J213, I know Joe, I was in argument earlier today because I said Tim Duncan was the biggest superstar who fell off the face of the earth After their career. What are your thoughts? Who else comes to mind? I mean Tim Duncan was a superstar. I didn't nobody know he was playing he liked it like that Timmy timid Timmy Timmy wanted to come in make his money be great and deal Timmy wanted to come in, make his money, be great, and dip. Tim was really one of the few, like, I think, what you call was the last senior to go number one overall,
Starting point is 00:58:12 Kenyon Martin, but Tim Duncan played all four years. But Tim, Tim was a guy that really never liked the spotlight. Yeah. He didn't like the spotlight. Mr. Fundamentals. Yeah, he was... I'm trying to think, who else fell off the face of the earth that was a superstar, old joke? That wanted to, you know what I'm saying? That wanted to. Right, right, right.
Starting point is 00:58:34 I know somebody who is a superstar despite injuries that will probably fall off the face of the earth and don't want to be seen or bothered. Yoke-ish? Yoke-ish, probably Kawhi. Oh, yeah. Yeah Why injury so last he he not the same we barely even talk about Kawhi now James Harden seemed to be the best player on the team now he and Norman Powell I guess Kareem, I mean, but back then, I mean, it wasn't like it is now, you know, Kareem,
Starting point is 00:59:19 it's not like guys now, cause guys have other things. You hear about guys, they're doing business, and I don't know what business Kareem owns, you know, but a lot of times guys, they're doing business, and I don't know what business Kareem owns, but a lot of times guys, they own business. They become execs or they become media personalities, Ocho. They become coaches, they become front office people, they own other businesses. So yeah, it's a different time than when Kareem came out. Seriously, bro, hey, Uggenocho,
