I'm Simone Boys, host of the Brightside podcast, and on this week's episode, I'm talking to Olympian, World Cup champion, and podcast host, Ashlyn Harris. My worth is not wrapped up in how many things I've won because what I came to realize is I valued winning so much that once it was over, I got the blues and I was like, this is it.
Starting point is 00:02:10 For me, it's the pursuit of greatness. It's the journey. It's the people. It's the failures. It's the heartache. Listen to The Bright Side on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Get fired up, y'all. Season two of Good Game with Sarah Spain is underway.
Starting point is 00:02:33 We just welcomed one of my favorite people, an incomparable soccer icon, Megan Rapino, to the show. And we had a blast. Take a listen. Sue and I were, like, riding the lime bikes the other day. And we're like, whee! People ride bikes because it's fun. We got more incredible guests like Megan in store, plus news of the day and more. So make sure you listen to Good Game with Sarah Spain on the IHeard.
Starting point is 00:02:56 Heart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Brought to you by Novartis, founding partner of IHeart Women's Sports Network. Oh. So what's up? How are y'all doing? Now our second guest joining us, won the Super Bowl with the Rams, played unbelievable a tackling machine. Here you're starting middle linebacker for the Seattle Seahawks, Ernest Jones, That's it.
Starting point is 00:03:26 The boy. Yes, sir. How are y'all doing? How are y'all doing? Man, we're doing good. I'm here on the road, chilling. Hey, I can tell you something real quick. Talk to me.
Starting point is 00:03:39 Hey, do you feel blessed that you ain't got to deal with me in today's game? Honestly, I wish you was out there. We wouldn't have to worry about you too much. You don't think so? Hey. But you know I would have ran you over a little bit. You know, we got a Devin Witherspoon out there, right? Devin Witherspoon?
Starting point is 00:03:59 The only witherspoon I know is the kind I eat with. That's it. And running me over wouldn't have never happen, man. But I'm 236-4. I seen what Ray did to you. You know, Ray. Ernest, man, thanks for joining us.
Starting point is 00:04:23 Bro, you fit right in in Seattle. I mean, you're having a great, you're having a, let's go back, the Rams. Bro, you play it out of your mind. You, 130, 140 tackles. What happened with the Rams? I mean, we're still trying to figure it out. Honestly, we don't know. We really don't know.
Starting point is 00:04:44 All I know is we ended a training camp practice in Houston. I get off the plane ahead to my car and I get the call. Like, hey, we're going to trade you. And I didn't really see it coming. I thought it was a joke at first, but they were real serious. Hold on. Were you asking for a contract? What, something had to precipitate this.
Starting point is 00:05:09 We never even got there. I never got to talk numbers with them. Just, just nothing, nothing. It came out of nowhere for us on our end. But honestly, I'm fortunate and glad it happened, though, because Lennon and, I mean, Seattle really changed everything for me. Now you get to be yourself. You go to a team that Seattle, they pride themselves on defense.
Starting point is 00:05:34 Ever since the Legion of Boom with all those guys with Earl and Shirm and Chancellor and all those guys, Averill and Bennett, from there, a wag, Bwags, from that time on, this has been a defensive-led football team. And you land and a defensive-led football team, you mentioned, a Witherspoon. You mentioned Wolling. You mentioned the guys that you guys now. How has that transition seen being so seamless? Because it seems like you were drafted to Seattle, like you were born to play in Seattle. I agree with you there. That's how I feel. I think the biggest thing that different from there than a lot of the places that I've been, it's 53 other
Starting point is 00:06:11 guys in that room in that locker room, man, they dogs, man. They play football the right way. It's for the love of the game. And getting in there in October, once I was there, they They welcomed me in so seamlessly, and it just was a perfect fit. Now, I don't know if you know this. They traded you to the, they traded you to Seattle, right? You know what that means? You know when the Rams, when a team trades you within the division, you know they don't have a whole lot of respect for you artists.
Starting point is 00:06:43 You know that, right? Well, they traded me to Tennessee first. Oh, well, you got, well, see, what, you're buying it. See, they try to keep you out of the division. But now you got to see me twice. So now, okay, so you look up there, you say, you know what, we got, we got y'all such a such a week and we got y'all such and such a week. I don't know what's going to happen, but I promise you, y'all won't feel 13.
Starting point is 00:07:07 Oh, yeah. 100%. I'll be there. Whatever time the game start, I'll be there early. What has it been like playing out there in that stadium? I remember being out there, that 12 man. you can't hear nothing, boy. What, nothing, but what is that feeling like, man,
Starting point is 00:07:25 being out there with those. I mean, like you said, you can't hear nothing. I remember coming up here when I was with the Rams and, you know, the stadium, of course, I'm on defense and their offense is going, so I really don't hear the noise. But, man, my first game here, when we played Buffalo, I was like, this is real.
Starting point is 00:07:41 Yeah. The 12, they show up everywhere, anywhere, anywhere, rain, sleep, snow, or hell, they're going to show up. It's just, it's good to have a, you know, have a fan base that comes to support us, and we got to show out for him. Seahawks, they're allowing the second fewest points, the third best red zone defense,
Starting point is 00:08:00 fourth most takeaways, sixth most sacks, six best run defense. How have you guys, the first at the quarter pole, how have you guys been able to play so well so quickly on defense? I guess for us, I think the cliche answer would be like, you know, we trust in the guys, you know, next to us we put into work.
Starting point is 00:08:18 But I'm going to be honest with you, man. And Mike McDonald, he's the man. He puts us in great positions to get out to quarterbacks, get out the opposing offenses. Throughout the week, he gets us ready. And, man, on Sunday, he calls a great game. So a lot of it has to do with, you know, our ability and that's going out there executing,
Starting point is 00:08:36 but our coach got us dialed in right now. When you look, think about it, you were on that team that won the Super Bowl, Vaughn Miller, you got AD, you got Floyd, you had ram you look i mean have you ever thought of have you i mean did you go home and like damn boy we got a dick this defense for real and man shoot every every day that whole year i was just thinking about it man for the super bowl i'm sitting up there reminiscing on like okay big moment uh this is what you've been kind of working for and i think i ended it with like
Starting point is 00:09:12 shoot just don't fuck it up for aaron don't know them just don't mess it up for them So I went out there and just went out there and played and balled. But man, that learning from the best there is to play A.D. Bon Miller out there getting sacks. I mean, even Werto Werto came in and showed me what it's like to be a true teammate, true leader. So big credits and shout out to those guys. What was it like watching Aaron Donald? Because I remember watching them coming out and I saw it make the Super Bowl before the draft.
Starting point is 00:09:43 And they're like, I was like, damn, who is that? I said, man, that's Errondon. I see that Lord Rascal? he didn't want to be caught because when you look at him he's not a i mean he he he has wide shoulders but you look at him he like six foot tall like man him boy when i watched his first game when he was a rookie while watched him at uh when he was not at pitt yeah i was like ain't no way that him doing all that raising all that hell take it on double t splitting double team getting skinny and doing everything everything you can take that when you first saw and what did
Starting point is 00:10:17 When you first saw him, what did you think, Ernest? When I first saw him, I'm going to be honest, I didn't know too much about him. Like, of course, he was, Aaron Donald, had been in the league a couple years, but I wasn't really all the way hip to him like I should have been. And I can remember the first day I was out there giving calls and he didn't get the call. And he told me to speak up. And the way he said it just caught me out of guards. I'm like, I can't let this grown man talk to me like that.
Starting point is 00:10:43 But to sit back and watch him, I found myself a lot of times watching. him watching him create habit destroy stuff and there's been times man he's he stopped practicing they told him to get out so I've seen some I've seen some things yeah because he can't get anything done if he if he's given an 100% effort you see what he does on Sunday now everybody don't got a Zach Martin or Quentin Nelson to be able to deal with it or what's the guy in Seattle I mean not Seattle but the 49ers what's the level tackle name mocho. Trent,
Starting point is 00:11:19 Big Trent. Everybody don't got that. So if he said, you know what, I'm just going to wreck shop today. Y'all ain't going to get nothing done. You're not going to get anything done. And he decides when he wants to do that. That's crazy.
Starting point is 00:11:35 Your squad started the season with the 20th best odds to make the Super Bowl. Every publication had you guys pick dead last. Now, all of a sudden, hey, it looked like you or you and you. and it might come down to you and you know it's turning huh it's turning that that was the plan though that's the plan um we know what it is i firmly believe when the nfc west when all four those teams are smoking and on fire man that's one of the hardest divisions
Starting point is 00:12:02 to come out of so we know what's on we know what's on the line we know who we got to get through to get there and we last game of season this for the division rams takes on the seahawk this is for the division yeah what can we what can we expect from ernest jones oh man a performance i'm ready to ball out a performance something sweet slow and sexy and you know it's funny defense y'all the numbers speak for itself already a quarter way through the season but that goddamn sam donald and js nalus they might they might be the next big thing man that that that that that duo right there is growing to see what they came from from OTAs when offensively they were learning new couldn't really figure it out to see them
Starting point is 00:12:51 guys where they're at now and it's just a start like those are samsa ball are cool composed and JSN is a quiet killer out there were you surprised the AD stepped away when he did because you're talking about a guy that played 10 years he won three MVP's he won I mean, he was phenomenal. He was eight-time, nine-time first-team all-pro. I mean, and he's just like, you know what, I don't want to do it no more. I don't have the passion to train what it requires me to be the AD that y'all see every Sunday. That takes the off-season, and I'm done with that.
Starting point is 00:13:31 I truly, I wasn't surprised because we kind of knew coming into that year that it was going to be it. But I'd say you just said it for him to, you know, I guess be honest with himself and know that, you know, I don't have what it takes to be Aaron Donald. I don't want to come out here and do the training camp and hunt and just, you know, be taken like you just said. It was kind of honorable for him to put it up the way he did, went out on his sword, went out at the top of his game. And, you know, you got to talk about him for years now as one of the best. Hey, this is Matt Jones. I'm Drew Franklin. And this is NFL cover zero.
Starting point is 00:14:09 We think NFL coverage should be informative and entertaining. And twice a week, that is exactly what you're going to get. We're just here to try to give you an NFL perspective a little bit different. Did you see the Colts pretzel? That was my other big takeaway from that game. What was that? Looks like something that should not be sold. Oh, my.
Starting point is 00:14:28 So that was my other big Colts take away. They sold that? Yes. Might want to go back to the Colts Stadium. Yeah, I might want to go back to the drawing board on that. Yeah. I thought the shape we had with pretzels was working pretty well. Smart for generations.
Starting point is 00:14:39 We're just here trying to enjoy it. We hope you all will join us throughout the year. And let's go. I hope I'm as youthful as Pete Carroll is at his age. He's a young 73. He is a young 73. He is spry. I would fight him.

Starting point is 00:16:38 Listen to the bright side on the IHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Get fired up, y'all. Season two of Good Game with Sarah Spain is underway. We just welcomed one of my favorite people and an incomparable soccer icon, Megan Rapino, to the show, and we had a blast. We talked about her recent 40th birthday celebration. co-hosting a podcast with her fiancée Sue Bird, watching former teammates retire and more. Never a dull moment with Pino.
Starting point is 00:17:10 Take a listen. What do you miss the most about being a pro athlete? The final. The final. And the locker room. I really, really, like, you just, you can't replicate, you can't get back. Showing up to locker room every morning
Starting point is 00:17:23 just to shit talk. We've got more incredible guests like the legendary Candice Parker and college superstar AZ Fudd. I mean, seriously, y'all, the guest list is absolutely stacked for season two. And, you know, we're always going to keep you up to speed on all the news and happenings around the women's sports world as well. So make sure you listen to Good Game with Sarah Spain on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Presented by Capital One, founding partner of IHeart Women's Sports.
Starting point is 00:17:51 What I told people, I was making a podcast about Benghazi. Nine times out of ten, they called me a masochist, rolled their eyes, or just asked, Why? Benghazi, the truth became a web of lies. It's almost a dirty word, one that connotes conspiracy theory. Will we ever get the truth about the Benghazi massacre? Bad faith political warfare, and frankly, bullshit. We kill the ambassador just to cover something up.
Starting point is 00:18:20 You put two and two together. Was it an overblown distraction or a sinister conspiracy? Benghazi is a rosetta stone for everything that's been going on for the last 20 years. I'm Leon Nefok from Prolog Projects and Pushkin Industries. This is Fiasco, Benghazi. What difference at this point does it make?
Starting point is 00:18:43 Yeah, that's right. Lock her up. Listen to Fiasco, Benghazi, on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Yeah. And the funny thing, too, and E, when you think about it, you think about Aaron Donald and all his accomplishments, you look at his accolades, you look at his resume,
Starting point is 00:18:59 coming to the NFL, you won a championship? What the hell else does he have to prove? He had nothing else to prove. I mean, a lot of people don't have anything to prove, but they're hard to walk away from 30 million a year. Did he walk away from it? I think they were still paying him a boy a little bit.
Starting point is 00:19:16 I mean, because I mean, like I said, it wasn't like you saw slippage in his game. He could still split the double team. He's one-on-one. Hey, and he lined up, he turning every door. Oh, this is locked. Oh, shit. Man, they left this one open.
Starting point is 00:19:30 He's going to stay right there. He's moving up and down the line, and he's telling everybody, I mean, your office line coach for the opposing team, number 99, you circle him. He's going to get a chance to whip all y'all ass, so then they worry about him. Let's go on to the next guy.
Starting point is 00:19:45 Because that's what's going to happen. He's going to whip everybody ass, and you have to, guys like him and LT and Reggie White and Bruce Smith, you had to account for them. They would wreck your entire offense If you did not have one miss, he'll hit your quarterback in the back of the head, and he'll put it on the ground. That's how he was, man.
Starting point is 00:20:06 Just a monster, man, just wrecking shot every day. Like, it's some stories that he probably wouldn't want to told online. But that man is a monster. Yeah, that he was whipping all the officers of lying with their ass. They couldn't nobody block him. And he say, look here, if y'all give me a little fee, I take it easy on y'all today. Because they had one-on-one. You had one-on-one in training camp.
Starting point is 00:20:30 You had one-on-one sometimes during the course of the year. Yeah. Ain't nobody blocking him. At some point. Yeah. I mean, what you're going to do? He's getting that shade. He's getting that three-tech.
Starting point is 00:20:40 Well, hell, he can get into five. He could go up and down the line. He can get into a nine. He can get into a seven. He can get into a five, a three, a tilt. It doesn't matter. What you're going to do? And he knows what's funny.
Starting point is 00:20:50 And he uses his hands. I've never seen a lineman. Look, use his hands like he could. He's almost like a wide receiver. I mean, if you look at the way he's moving his hand, how we're swimming, how we knocking people's hands away, that's how he was as a defensive lineman. And then he catch you, he pushed the arm up
Starting point is 00:21:07 and did he get skinny? Ah, I'm in there. Hold on, hold on. They got a bad boy over there in Seattle right now too now. Who that? 99. Yes, sir. Oh, yeah, Williams.
Starting point is 00:21:21 Yeah, they got a bad. I'm not saying he Aaron Donald, but he's a bad boy. Man, listen, I've got the luxury to play behind some great defensive tackles, knows, man, he's, he's up there. He's one of the ones, man. And that whole front, that whole front four, whoever they roll out, Jan Reed, we got Byron Murphy, those guys, man, they keep me protected,
Starting point is 00:21:43 and I just fly around and make plays. And you just get the float. You just like, hey, keep it clean. Keep it clean. what when you come out I want to know the goal so when you come when you start the season when you get ready he's like okay I'll be getting ready to go to training camp give me some give me some of the goals that you set for yourself oh man I'm sorry um I think for me some of the goals that I said um when it when it comes to coming out
Starting point is 00:22:13 of training camp are you said on a personal level or just far as you think yeah on the personal level obviously you want to win obviously like if I do what I'm supposed to do we going to win because I'm going to get me I'm going to get me about 150 this thing no for sure I'm saying for me coming into this season specifically this is the healthiest I've been I dealt with a neat issue for the past two years and it's still able to play at a pretty good level but for me this year was coming in healthy and then it was
Starting point is 00:22:41 from that let's take the next step in my game let's let's start affecting these passes that come across his middle and coverage a little bit more let's be more fluid out in space make those tackles and let's just see what happens man of course I want to go. I want to go all pro. I want to be a pro bowler. But I'm all about winning, getting there and doing what's best for my team. You want you another piece of jewelry, huh? I need this one over here getting lonely, man. I need another one. Do let me ask you a question. Do you wear it? Like when you go on road trips, you suited and booty that, have you pulled
Starting point is 00:23:14 it out? Do you wear it? Do you wear it? You just like, nah, I got to get you, I got to get you apart. I got to get you a partner. I got to get you on wear it. Today, I pulled it out today for the first time. Today was the first time in a while. But I don't wear it. I'm waiting to get a twin sister. Yeah, you got to get a twin. You got to get a twin for it. Because he's lonely up there. You know, he's like, damn, I ain't got nobody to talk to. I ain't got nobody to the hollad or nothing. What's going on? I need it. We, we keep going the way we're going and just keep getting better. I think we got a great shout at it. You got anything else?
Starting point is 00:23:49 No, no, I'm done. I'm done. My last thing for Ocho. Hey, that Madden, overall, we got to tighten up. Tell me what you need, right? Hey, listen, I take care of receivers and the DBs. I don't really operate with the land backers and stuff. What you need, speed, you need script. For me, it's overall. I think, I think we're lacking a couple things.
Starting point is 00:24:13 The tackling, I think we do need to be better. Missed four tackles last year, ain't too many people on the missing four tackles. We got to get that up a little bit. right. So what's your overall right now? I think I'm like an 81. Damn. 81. 81. Yeah, yeah, that real low. That real low. I don't agree with that. Listen, I got, I got a meeting with the EA team in the morning. I'm going to address that. I'm going to bring it up. I'm going to bring it up. Like, I'm really not in a position to bring it up. If it's not a skill position, like receiver DB, but I can sit on the table for you because it's on film.
Starting point is 00:24:45 I appreciate that. That's all I play for is the film. I got you. I got you. I got you. Who y'all got this week? Tampa Bay. That's going to be a good one. Yeah. They got A. They got, hey, they, hey, they, hey, they, hey, they, hey, they, hey, they, they, hey, they, they, hey, they can run the ball. Baker, throwing it, hey, that's going to be a good match.
Starting point is 00:25:05 It's going to be a good one. They come out to Lumen, so we'll, we'll see, see him Sunday. See, we, I played in Lumen before y'all became, before, y'all wasn't good. It wasn't a crowd noise. Matter of fact, Ocho, you know how to be like. this here, I was like, I was on the opposing chief, like, yeah, fuck, damn. I feel like I'm in church. It's going to pop this week.
Starting point is 00:25:26 It's going to pop this week. Oh, for sure. So when you got to Seattle, did you go to the market? I haven't been yet. Damn, what the hell are you waiting on? And you got to go kiss the fish. The only thing I was trying to do is figure out a playbook.
Starting point is 00:25:44 I was trying to figure that out. But we're going to get there. Me and my wife going to get down there at some point. So you like, you like seafood, you like fish? I'll go, I go for fish. I'm allergic to shrimp, but other seafood, I'm stylish. I'm allergic to shell fish also. It's just shrimp for me, which is crazy.
Starting point is 00:26:03 No, shrimp, lobster, crab, oysters, scallop. It's a style of joy. Now, I can eat, I can eat, uh, colomar. But that's the difference, that's a crustacean and the mullets. So there's two different, well, I'll tell you about later, Ojo, but anyway. Hey, you don't, what's your diet like? You're not one of them healthy eaters and eat all that, that good stuff. Oh, Cho, I'm going to be mad here.
Starting point is 00:26:28 I'm like you. I'm going to get it in. I'm going to get in. I will say I haven't been to McDonald's in a minute, but I'm going to get full. I'm going to just eat. That's what I'm talking about. And see, and people want to understand, they want to question, why is he so good? Why is he great?
Starting point is 00:26:46 Why is he one of the best NFL? You know why? Because he eats, you ain't supposed to eat. in South Georgia. Hey, clean that diet up. I guarantee you're all pro. Hey, you clean the diet up. You're going to clean that diet up.
Starting point is 00:26:59 First team all pro. Provo. Nope. I got you. Get you about five force fumbles, three picks. Now you know, with 135 tackles, four force fumbles, two former recoverers and three picks. Now they're talking about DPO. That's what they're talking about.
Starting point is 00:27:15 I don't know if you won't that or not, but you clean that down. I'm going to get it done. I'm going to get into that. That's what I'm talking about. Don't be listening to Ocho. Hey, I'll tell you one thing, whatever you put in your system and got nothing to do with making none of that,
Starting point is 00:27:28 he's just name. I got you, Ben. Ernest, man, thank you, man. Appreciate you, man. Appreciate you, man. Appreciate you, and when that season turns out the way you want it, come back and talk to this kid.
Starting point is 00:27:41 Thank y'all for having you. Appreciate you, bro. Ernest Jones, the 4th. Starting the middle line back up for Seattle Seahawks, man. He's an unbelievable player. I mean, I was shocked. I was absolutely shocked that they, when they traded the mojo. Because I didn't say, because I'm like, man, no, no, he can really play.
Starting point is 00:27:59 Oh, yeah, absolutely. No, yeah, he could, he could really, really play. So I'm absolutely shocked that they moved it. Yeah, the funny thing, too, about it, huh? Hey, this is Matt Jones. I'm Drew Franklin. And this is NFL Cover Zero. We think NFL coverage should be informative and entertaining.
Starting point is 00:28:17 And twice a week, that is exactly what you're going to get. We're just here to try to give you an NFL perspective a little bit different. Did you see the Colts pretzel? That was my other big takeaway from that game. What was that? Looks like something that should not be sold. Oh, my. So that was my other big Colts take away.
Starting point is 00:28:33 They sold that? Yes. At the Colts Stadium. Yeah, I might want to go back to the drawing board on that. Yeah. I thought the shape we had with pretzels was working pretty well. Smart for generations. We're just here trying to enjoy it.
Starting point is 00:28:45 We hope you all will join us throughout the year. And let's go. I hope I'm as youthful as Pete Carroll is at his age. He's a young 73. He is a young 73. He is spry. I wouldn't fight him. I would.

Starting point is 00:30:20 My worth is not wrapped up in how many things I've won. Because what I came to realize is I valued winning so much that once it was over, I got the blues and I was like, this is it. For me, it's the pursuit of greatness. It's the journey. It's the people. It's the failures. It's the heartache.
Starting point is 00:30:42 Listen to the bright side on the IHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Get fired up, y'all. Season two of Good Game with Sarah Spain is underway. We just welcomed one of my favorite people and an incomparable soccer icon, Megan Rapino, to the show, and we had a blast. We talked about her recent 40th birthday celebrations, co-hosting a podcast with her fiancé Sue Bird,
Starting point is 00:31:09 watching former teammates retire and more. Never a dull moment with Pino. Take a listen. What do you miss the most about being a pro athlete? The final. The final. And the locker room. I really, really, like, you just, you can't replicate, you can't get back.
Starting point is 00:31:26 Showing up to the locker room every morning just to shit talk. We've got more incredible guests like the legendary Candace Parker and college superstar A.Z. Fudd. I mean, seriously, y'all. The guest list is absolutely stacked for season two. So make sure you listen to Good Game with Sarah Spain on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Starting point is 00:31:52 Presented by Capital One, founding partner of IHeart Women's Sports. What I told people, I was making a podcast about Benghazi. Nine times out of ten, they called me a masochist, rolled their eyes, or just asked, why. Benghazi, the truth became a web of lies. It's almost a dirty word, one that connotes conspiracy theory. Will we ever get the truth about the Benghazi massacre? Bad faith political warfare and, frankly, bullshit. We kill the ambassador just to cover something up.
Starting point is 00:32:24 You put two and two together. Was it an overblown distraction or a sinister conspiracy? Benghazi is a rosetta stone for everything that's been going on for the last 20 years. I'm Leon Nefok from Prologue Projects and Pushkin Industries. This is Fiasco. What difference at this point does it make? Yes, that's right. Lock her up.
Starting point is 00:32:50 Listen to Fiasco, Benghazi on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. When you move a player that's that good, it makes that kind of impact at that position. That means there's somebody else that they see behind him that they believe in. And I'm not sure who that is right now. Well. one man's trash is somebody else's treasure because they got the Seahawks got an unbelievable hell I'm surprised hell he didn't stay in Tennessee yeah you see look no guy can play y'all hey chat y'all know i call it like it is he can play well listen he's right
Starting point is 00:33:32 he for real he in the right place oh joe a j brown spoke to the media about why why he's frustrated with the eagle's offense being stagnant at time let's take a listen to what he had to say Yeah. But I think it's fair to, you know, to want the ball to get to get us going, you know, like last week against the Rams, you know, I caught the slug-o. Got the offense going next play, open up in Dallas, got it. The safety came up to my side and opened it up. So, you know, I don't think it's a bad thing for wanting the ball. It's not just for targets or anything to put numbers up. But no, I see that we're struggling. And I'm a guy that wants the ball in those times when we can't find a way. Give it to me. Like when the game's on the line, give the ball to me. I want that. I want that pressure. I put it on myself, you know, and I work hard for it. And so, and that's what, you know, the misconstruction or whatever you misconstrued, you know, whatever perspective you can about me, but, you know, it is what it is. You know, and I don't care, to be honest, because my teammates know, my teammates know that when the game's on the line, look at me, you know, and I want to shoot, everybody in the stadium will know that, you know, that's not a secret. You know, I'm not shyding away from that.
Starting point is 00:34:41 And so that's when you see that frustration when that hunger comes out. That's because I see what struggling and I believe that you give the ball to me. I'm going to open up things and I'm going to get this thing going. You can put it on my back. I like that. You like that he took accountability for his thing? Yeah. I don't do.
Starting point is 00:34:59 The only thing, the only thing I would say. Yeah. Is that keep it in housing. Because the perception of how it's going to be perceived. Right. It's completely different. Oh, Joe, you know, optics. And perception is everything in our business.
Starting point is 00:35:17 And the one thing he did say, you heard what he said towards the end is even if you guys misconstrue what I'm saying or what the meaning is that I'm trying to get across, I don't care. And you have to have that mentality as well. He has that mama mentality in the sense. He has a killer mentality at the receiver position. He's out there by his cell phone. He's on an island by himself.
Starting point is 00:35:41 So he's reliant on 10 other people. No, he plays a dependent position. Exactly. You had the mercy of the quarterback. Hey, every time. So I think when we're struggling or the type of team we are, the way our offense is, we run the ball to open up the paths. Well, you know what?
Starting point is 00:35:59 I'm a player that's here where we can throw the ball to open up the run. And I want to be that guy. I put the pressure on this on myself. Get me the ball in these situations. You know the hard thing is, Ocho? is that when you win a certain way, the team believe that's the only way they can win. So what did they do?
Starting point is 00:36:23 What we won it last year? Well, you have to evolve because Sequin is not, the holes are not there for Sequin this year like they were last year. So clearly the defense is saying, we are not going to let 26 beat us. At all. If you guys want to beat us, he's going to have to throw the ball.
Starting point is 00:36:42 Yeah. And AJ said, well, damn, can we throw the ball when they don't know we're going to throw the ball? Hell, if we just throw the ball on third down, you make it really hard. But, you know, I'll be open on first down too. I'll be open on second down. Yeah. And then hold on. And one more thing, one more thing.
Starting point is 00:37:02 Another thing that they need to do, let's be a little bit more creative. Let's be a little bit more creative when it comes to the type of routes and to give an AJ Brown the run. I can name them, too, based on the split every time. The under? Under and the slant. Listen, if he's two yards outside the number, he's running the goddamn slant. If you're on top of numbers, he's running the goddamn curl. If he's a split and dense, he run the quick stick route.
Starting point is 00:37:29 Yep. It's the same, it's the same concept every time. Like, what the hell are we doing? That's it. Oh, Joe, Travis Kelsey spoke about AJ Brown's tweet saying, you're four and oh boss. Come on, man.
Starting point is 00:37:45 It's frustrating for AJ right now. Clearly, he's going to social media to show it. When I show my frustration when we aren't rolling as an offense, but it's also really hard for me to get mad when we're winning. I don't find that energy when we're winning, putting up points and winning football game. That's all I said. That was my entire point.
Starting point is 00:38:06 It's hard. People, also, you guys say, Well, I'm hungry. I give you food. Man, this ain't no waggoo. This ain't no our grottom potatoes. Man, this ain't no lobster bag of cheese. Hey.
Starting point is 00:38:20 So, and I, and I, and that was my point. That was all I was trying to say. It's hard to get people on your side. Yeah. When you're winning. Right. Philly wants to win. Yeah, absolutely.
Starting point is 00:38:34 Absolutely. And so when you're winning, it's hard to get people like, yeah, AJ, you're right? They were like, AJ, we're winning. Yes, I want you to catch passes, but not as much as I want to win the game. And so that's all I would say. And I get what people saying. People are like, with Travis Kelsey, yeah, he gets a look at, hey, when they're not winning, yep, he's going to act up.
Starting point is 00:38:56 When that office is stagnant, and that's what AJ is saying. Yeah. So it's just hard. AJ, go talk to Jalen, go talk to Siriani, and go talk to your damn head, your office coordinator. yeah that's what I'm talking to I ain't gonna put no tweet out I ain't gonna say I I ain't gonna put
Starting point is 00:39:13 nothing on no Twitter or Joe I'm going to talk to them because I got a direct line I know hey I know where your office is and I know I got her phone number you don't think you don't did that you don't think you didn't do that because we had the same problems last year
Starting point is 00:39:27 you don't think he's done that I think the first step is he probably went and had those conversations already and nothing that's changed nothing changed now we're in the next year and the same shit's still going on. But again, I give you a prime example. Monday night. What did you see Chase do?
Starting point is 00:39:45 Chase walked right up to Zach Taylor didn't he? He went to that he walked right up to him. He were frustrated. He were frustrated. And I'm curious. I'm curious to see. And it don't get no easy this week, huh? It don't get this week. They play Detroit. Oh, Lord. They play Detroit. So you know Detroit put points on the board, don't you? Well, who are you telling? They score a 50s. We before last, and they scored 40 to the last game. We don't have no choice. Zach Taylor spoke to the media today and said,
Starting point is 00:40:16 there's no need for us to bring another quarterback in, a veteran, because we believe in Jake Browning. I say, well, shoot, if we believe in Jake Browning, I ain't got no choice but to get on that bus too. Let me, guess where I'm at right now? Where? In Cincinnati. Guess what I'm going to talk to in the morning?
Starting point is 00:40:36 Who? The team. what you're going to talk about i'd be damn if i get embarrassed sunday i'd be damn i'm i'm going to the game sunday obviously i'm i'm going to the game sunday we don't worry about you can leave a halftime it'll be over hey listen hey um well when you when they get hey chat we're going to start on time hey unc when they get this pep talk for me when they get this pep talk for me before that game it's a rap I'm telling you I'm telling you
Starting point is 00:41:10 okay I can't wait to hear this pep talk hey matter of fact you know what I'm so happy and just speaking back about like I know you ain't send me none of my gifts but I got a nice gift for you I got a nice gift

I'm going to sing you your gift. You even ask me what the gift was.
Starting point is 00:41:46 No, I don't need to know. The whole point is, okay, Ocho, what's the gift? I got tickets for me and you to send front row, front row, and we can go. We got backstage passes so we can take pictures and stuff at the NBA Young Boy concert, October 13. Where is that? In Miami. All right, listen, listen, listen, wait, before you say anything, I know how you like to fly. I already got the private jet charter to pick you up, bring you to Miami.
Starting point is 00:42:17 I got a driver for you to bring you to the concert. I got you two security guards. Oh, so I don't know one song NBA young boy sing, man. I don't either. What you need to do is go listen to the song, Rebels Kick It. You can start there. Starting point is 00:43:16 I mean, if I'm going to go to a car I ain't been to a concert, man. I know. Adele was the last concert and she was at, when she was at a, had the residency. Oh, Joe, you got to, you got to give me something easy, man, damn.
Starting point is 00:43:30 Oh, this easy. He's going to, listen, let me. He's going to bring us on stage, right? No, I don't need to be out there. Hey, me, hey, I'm on, I'm on, oh, Joe, I'm on probation for the rest of 25. I know, but this ain't got nothing to do with that, though. I'm saying, I just, I just can't, I can't be at something like that. You know what I'm saying?
Starting point is 00:43:48 It's going to send, it's going to send the wrong message. My probation officer is going to get me. What message? This message, this message is about living life. This message is not turning up. This message about having fun. It's about freedom. The rest of 20, the rest of 25, now 26, I'm, you know, I will get back out there,
Starting point is 00:44:05 but it need to be, you know, you know, Ocho, come on. Work with me. Ocho, work with me. I'm working with you. That's why we're going to the NBA Young Boy concert.
Starting point is 00:44:13 I can't do that. This is what you need. And you need to be, uh, uh, uh, uh, let's go.
Starting point is 00:44:23 You know, you could come up out of your shirt. Then you go ahead the live green bandan around. Oh, no. Man, look here. Yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:44:32 I'm with you, man. I was going to go. Hey, I got to sit this one out on. It's too late. I already got the charter. I already got the tickets. Oh, Cho.
Starting point is 00:44:39 I already got tickets. I need to go somewhere. Let me go to a John Legend. Let me go to Anthony Hamilton. Let me get. Maybe I could do like a Drake or Chris Brown. I can't do no young boy. I'm going to tell you like this.
Starting point is 00:44:53 Either you go to the young boy concert with me, I'm going to beat you up. Now, you got two choices. You get your ass, whoop. I think that's what I'm going to have to take. I'm about to take that one. Ocho, man, you, oh, man, you know right now, Ocho, you know you born right now, I got it, you know. Hey, I'm telling you, when you, hey, listen, when you get in that atmosphere at that concert, I'm telling you, you're going to feel like, damn, I ain't felt like this in a long time. You just, you just, you just, you get loose, man, just, ha.
Starting point is 00:45:29 And then, hold on, we're going to be in the, listen, we're going to be in the crowd and we're going to be standing on our chairs and stuff. I'm gonna have to say I'm gonna have to say that hey I got y'all I'm back at 26 I'm back at 26 fall 26 oh I didn't already told NBA young boy we coming man hey oh cho you know my motto follow 26 I'm a dark-skinned slave I'm outside you know what I'm said ohcho I'm outside you know that's where I'm at give it 26 26 I got to hey come on that work with me chat tell him to work with me I'm working with you. I just spent $12,000 on these tickets right in the front. Now, don't do that.
Starting point is 00:46:10 I got your chart. I got your charter jet. I got you two security so nobody, can't anybody bother you? It's just not a good look for me right now. You know what I'm saying, Ocho? It's a good look. Yeah. As a matter of fact, Ocho,
Starting point is 00:46:25 at a matter of fact, the first big function I want people to see me out, I want to be coming out of the church. Maybe I go to the parter house in Dallas. Maybe I come out of a TDJ church. Maybe they need to see, Chad, y'all need to see me come out of church. You know what?
Starting point is 00:46:39 No, no, no, no. No, no. One thing about it, we ain't going that route. We ain't going that route. We're not going that route, acting like, you know, we're Reverend, we're Reverend Al Sharpton and all that shit. Yeah, that's what I got to be.
Starting point is 00:46:52 That's what they got to do, yeah. No, no, no. We got to stay, we got to stay true to ourselves. No, no, no, I can't be that, no, I got to change. Stay with me real quick. Stay with me real quick. I change in my life, Chad.
Starting point is 00:47:02 I'm changing. I'm new. Stay with me real quick. It's okay to be new, but don't forget where you came from. We come from times like that, and at some times, you got to revisit where you come from. I got to go back to church, Cho. I lost my way. I lost my way.
Starting point is 00:47:27 I got to go back to church. I know y'all understand. I know y'all listen to all. y'all won't, you know, do something for two something. But that, but that unc, I had to put him up. I had to put him on the shelf. Hey, listen. That unc you tried to put on the shelf is what made us who we are.
Starting point is 00:47:44 I know, Ocho, but we can't lose that. I got to reinvent myself. If we lose that dynamic, then that doesn't make us who we are. We can't lose that aspect of what makes us us. So you can't go to Kirk Franklin, Rob. That ain't nobody want to hear that. Hey, as a matter of fact, Ocho, hey, don't be surprised.
Starting point is 00:48:04 When y'all see me in the airport, I'm carrying my Bible. I'm just saying. I'm just saying, that's where I'm at, Ocho, I'm just saying. That's where I'm at. I'm carrying my Bible, Ocho. I'm changed. Listen, I'm all for change. I'm glad. I told Jordan to come
Starting point is 00:48:24 pick me up. Jordan be going to church. I told Jordan, swing by and scoop your uncle. Hey, I'm telling you that that ain't it. You know, that ain't it. Listen, I'm with you when you're right, but there's certain things you have to still remain yourself. You can back, hey, listen, you're backslide. You backslide.
Starting point is 00:48:41 I can't. God forgave you already. God forgave you right. Whatever's for you is for you. You didn't got to do all that extra stuff. I just need to carry the Bible, just for a little while, little while, little but I'll tell you what. You get to buy it.
Starting point is 00:48:54 You got the Old Testament, New Testament. I got the Bible, King James Version. Okay. They got the old Lennon, New Testament. you what. Both Bibles have both Testaments. Got you, listen.
Starting point is 00:49:03 I have never seen a Bible with just one testament. I got you. Bring your King Jane Bergen. Bring your King Jane Virgin Bible
Starting point is 00:49:10 October 13 to the Carson at Rambi young boy. I tell you, I'll tell you that. Listen, I'm going to give you
Starting point is 00:49:18 a scripture. One did I go, one did I go off of? Philippians. Philippians 2. Verse 27. For thou have not
Starting point is 00:49:29 try to live perfect now shall backslided at some point in life but you must stay authentic to thyself because no man is perfect so i'll see you october 13 you see i got you see i got my thing i'm coming most gracious and holy heavenly father i come to thee in the most humble way i know how bow head humble heart on bent knee realizing that you god of god lord of lord kings of kings I'm done, don't you, boy, out. You boy out. I already got the Stacey Adams, three o'clock.
Starting point is 00:50:08 I'm down on one knee. Hey, I already told him. I said, Lord, when my time is up here. Hey, wait, hey, boy, you hell. And my face becomes a looking glass. Just give me a place somewhere in your kingdom. Now, how bad, don't you?
Starting point is 00:50:26 I'm done. Your boy, out. Chat. I'm out. I ain't fooling with Ocho. As we mentioned earlier, Darryl Hill has a dislocated knee, multilateral ligaments, including its ACL, ending his season four games into the season. Tyreek's agent, Drew Rosenhow stated,
Starting point is 00:50:48 Tyreek's surgery went very well, according to his doctors. It's about rehab. He will play next season. The realistic goal is the start of the season. Ocho Tyreek is 31 years of age. He has a big contract because the contract, the cap hit is over $50 plus million. And most teams will not want to eat that. Can he rebuild his market value as an elite elite receiver after this injury?
Starting point is 00:51:16 Absolutely, absolutely. And even if he doesn't rebuild his market value and gets the opportunity to play somewhere again, he will soon, even if it's not with Miami, I'm not sure where he will go, but wherever he does go he will remind everybody why he wants what he was one of the top five receivers in the NFL right now obviously he was wasn't on the trajectory of doing that because they weren't playing well as a whole as an offense in general but when he does come back listen the speed is still going to be there some of the stuff that he's able to do is still going to be there it was a dislocated kneecap no no no extremities no hamstring no quads
Starting point is 00:51:56 So the speed and all that stuff, I say three to four months, I actually think we're, what are we in, October, right? Yeah. October, November, December. If football season, if they were to make the playoffs. By the first year, Ocho, he should be running a straight line. Oh, he might, I mean, in two months, he should be able to run in a straight line. That's what I, I would just get rid of say that.
Starting point is 00:52:17 If it would come December, he would be able to come back and play if you wanted to. He would be able to come back and play if he wanted to. So he's going to be all right. No, man, yeah, I mean, look, Brandon and I, you had it tour his, and he still isn't back yet. He still dealing with some other stuff. That's different. He tore his ACL completely.
Starting point is 00:52:39 This is just a dislocated kneecap with a few ligaments. No, he's towards ACL. No, not fully. Well, that's what, that's what being reported. Hold on. Let me, let me text read real quick. Yeah, I'm all in his business. Look, all I know is, uh, I'm calling AP, I'm calling Adrian Peterson.
Starting point is 00:53:10 I'm going to say AP, I want to know everything that you did. Right. How long you did it, how often you did it. Oh, yeah. Uh, if you were in a hyperbaric chamber, I'm getting, I'm getting a portable hyperbaric chamber. Right. If you did infrared sauna, I'm doing infrared sauna. I'm doing whatever.
Starting point is 00:53:26 you did, push me to a capacity because the quickest thing I want to do, Ocho, is get range of motion back. That's the first thing I want to get. I want to get that 120 back. Once I get that range of motion back, I think about building that quad if I got to get that strength. So I'm going to build the steel machine because I want the muscles firing. Yeah. Because, you know, that's a, take you a couple of, some aspirin, some Tylenol, so that pain, because they're going going to push you. The thing is with athletes, Ocho, If you're a normal person, you get to go to rehab twice a week. Right.
Starting point is 00:54:01 An athlete, they go to rehab twice a day, five days a week. That's why, and plus they got youth on their side. They got muscle, musculature on their side. Right. And they got the best that money can buy as far as Beat, therapy, and doctors. So he could go anywhere, anywhere, and have that surgery. He could have went to Dr.
Starting point is 00:54:26 Elitrash or you could have went to the curling jove that's what did my hips or you know stemming hawkins or james andrews whatever the case may be um but i i i hope tyrie gets another opportunity uh hope i want him i want him look also he got speed to burn so let's just say for the sake of argument ocho he ain't four two no more he four three wow i'm so disappointed the man can only run four three right right that should that should be a luxury for us to have ocho yeah Yeah, he's going to be all right. He's going to get an opportunity. I'm excited to see where he goes.
Starting point is 00:55:00 If it's not back to Miami, I'm sure it would be somewhere else. There are so many teams that can use a threat, a dynamic threat at that, like Tyree Kill. And he's going to show once he's back, once he's back healed, and he's going to make videos running full speed. Yep. He's going to look like he never left the game. The thing that he got to do, Ocho, is stop planting cut. Yeah. Because that's everything for a receiver.
Starting point is 00:55:24 He's going to be able to run in a straight line and probably two and a half, three months. But it's when he gets that, when he can be able to do that. Yeah, yeah. And speak when he got, hey, like we talked about the other day, 10 roll to 12.
Starting point is 00:55:41 Yeah. When you hit that dig, when you hit that comeback, because he twitchy. And then being able to do him with confidence too, that's the biggest thing on you. And not having to worry about that need. Just to know that you know what,
Starting point is 00:55:53 that bang strong that is strong enough it can sustain it because you got to realize now that's just not a normal receiver that's a guy that's running and stop it and getting in and out of break tyreek don't do a whole lot of throwing that blink on and diagnose it he's stopping on the dime yeah so that's a lot of torque that's one thing i was four five four six right running the comeback running the out that's four two four three So that's a Ferrari getting up to a hundred miles an hour And then slamming on the brakes right as opposed to a pickup truck going 50 and slamming on brakes Yeah Mike's called Brian Dayball's reaction to Jackson Darts first NFL touchdown dayball screamed
Starting point is 00:56:41 That's our effing guy as he nearly ran into running back Devin Singletary That's a man who stoked about his new signal call Ocho Ocho Yeah. What'd you think? He said, that's our effing guy. I mean, it is their guy. It's the guy they picked.
Starting point is 00:57:01 It's a quarterback that they drafted. They just waited on his opportunity to play. It came earlier. It came earlier than most thought it would. And he looked good, huh? He looked good. You didn't know what to get from Jackson Dart. We know what he could do because we saw him in the preseason.
Starting point is 00:57:17 He looked good in the preseason. But you're not the kind of defenses. That's not the kind of defense. teams, those aren't the players you're going to see in the regular season. And Jackson Dars said, hold my beard. Let me show you whether it's the preseason or not, what I can do. Multiple great throws. Yes.
Starting point is 00:57:35 Plays, using his legs on third down to get first downs. He looked really good. The thing that tells me, well, I knew he was their guy because they drafted him. And they seemed to, but everybody, look, I don't take anything. from a draft room because everybody's always that's the guy we wanted we didn't think he was going to be there okay fine but also he named the guy the quarterback for the rest of the season he left he removed all doubt yeah because he's like okay he could have easily said we're going to start jackson dart he said we're starting jackson dart for the remainder remainder of the season
Starting point is 00:58:16 that is what they did with dylan gabriel they did as they started Yeah, they're leaving the door open. And this is, we talk about two different scenarios, too, two different teams, two teams that have two different type of expectations for their season as well. One coach is on the hot seat and understands. Yes. If I'm going down, I'm going down with the player that I wanted. It's going to be, look, that's their guy they wanted him.
Starting point is 00:58:52 He played really well. You know, look, the one thing you can say about Lane Kiffey, he can coach his ass off offensively. And he can coach the quarterbacks. So him and Sark was co-coordinators. I think there was the USC when they were at the height, Carson Palmer, Matt Liner, so forth and so on. So we know they can coach that position.
Starting point is 00:59:12 We know he is a great. What up there, Ocho? What were you at? What? Well, I'm in my crib, man, living a good life, man. I'm over here looking good, baby. Well, you know what? Y'all know who it is, but I give an introduction anyway.
Starting point is 00:59:31 That's my dog. Quake, what do, man? Man, I'm living on. I got a special hour called joke-telling business. It's in the top 10 and 24-hour release. I got a TV show that's going to be on Fox, and I just got married and you didn't show up. You're supposed to be my man.
Starting point is 00:59:47 You ain't come to the wet. Quake, Quake. I help all the things for you. I said, Shannon got to come. Quake, you know, Quake, you know, I've been, you know, I've been, I had a rough 25 so far, Quake. You know, you know, hell with them, man. You are all right.
Starting point is 01:00:01 You're shedding shop, man. You walk with your head up and I support you like I text you. You always see my brother, we're one of the first ones. You see, you see what I mean? Hey, Quake. Oh, no, no, no, no. Me and this dude, me and this man here, we got, we got decade plus. Yeah, I used to, when he was at the uptime comedy quarter,
Starting point is 01:00:19 we used to be in Atlanta coming. I come see it. Yeah. Hey, everybody judge you but God, man. I appreciate that, man. You heard what he said? Hey, Earthquake. Yes.
Starting point is 01:00:29 I got me and Unk. I got me and Unk tickets to go see NBA young boy October 13. And he's scared to go. Talk about he wanted to go to church instead. Well, he can do that, too. Take the Lord with him. Take the Lord with him, man. Take the Lord with him.
Starting point is 01:00:47 There you go. Do you want to know his heart? Why we had this fool on here tonight? The Lord is on your heart. Quake, let me ask you this. When you get ready, when Netflix call and they say, okay, Quake, we like to do a special X, Y, and Z, how long did it take you to put this set together? It was already ready. I'm like, Ocho, I'm ready, man.
Starting point is 01:01:08 You ready? I keep jokes. That's why it's called joke telling business. I'm in the joke telling business. You told me the story, tell Ocho, why you went by the name of Earthquake. Oh, man, because, oh, Joe, this was just, this wasn't no epiphany. I just tried this one time. Right.
Starting point is 01:01:30 And, you know, I got him in the military for nine years. And, you know, I got a family that's so critical, so I ain't want to mess up my good name. So if it didn't work out, you know, because my family said, you know, he got out the military and went to Atlanta trying to be Richard Pry. He must be on that thing. So I said, if it didn't work out, somebody said, hey, earthquake. I said, my name ain't Earthquake. my name Nathaniel. I don't even know no earthquake, but it worked out.
Starting point is 01:01:56 That's what you, you know what I mean? I ain't going to mess up my good name. Yeah, that's a good one. But Quake, when you went as a comedian and you say you're in the joke-telling business and you know, you were one of the first ones because you, like when I started Club Shay-Shay, you were one of the first ones I reached out. You say, bro, whatever you need, I'm there. Right.
Starting point is 01:02:13 Man, how often do you tour? How often, how many dates out there, 365, how many tour dates a year are you on the road? Man, it's 52 weeks in. I do about 46. Damn. Hey, man, you got to pay for this hill. This hill ain't free. This hill is all.
Starting point is 01:02:32 You got that big house now. Yes. Got that wife. I got to go out and get it. She feeds me and kick me out of the door and say, go get it. Go make this money. Hey, Quaid, what you think? You know, I'm thinking about doing stand up.
Starting point is 01:02:48 Come on, I bring you on. You can always work with me. We'll start with two minutes and work you all the way up. No, but Quaid, you know, we talked about it. You're like, hey, man, you can really do this. I'm thinking about it, Quake. Come on out. It's therapeutic.
Starting point is 01:03:03 You understand what I'm saying? Because I got these jokes, man. I keep, I got a thousand jokes on me. I ain't told them like four of them. Oh, I got some one-liners. You'll give half of the comedians that's out here now a run for their money. Hey, I got some good ones, boy. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:03:21 Oh, so you got a, you got a plethora. How do you have a plethora. Matter of fact, I'm going to give you a small example right here. Watch this. Hey, um, do me a favor. Go ahead. Repeat after me. Okay.
Starting point is 01:03:35 Blue. Blue. The cat is red. Cat is red. What color is grass? What color is grass? That's a good one. That's a good one.
Starting point is 01:03:51 Yeah, you thought I was going to say green, didn't you? No, you need a little help on that, Ocho. Yeah, I lost that one. I lost that one. I lost that. I mean, people boo you by the time you got to that green one. You understand, it took too long. You got to get in there.
Starting point is 01:04:04 You got to be like your boxing. You got to put them hands on them. Okay, okay, okay. I'm going to work on my material and my delivery. Yeah, that's what you got to work on. You'll be good after that. All right. So, Quake, when they came to you, you had already
Starting point is 01:04:18 this set that you did for Netflix you had already had it ready waiting for someone like maybe it was going to be Netflix or whomever Amazon, whatever the case may be so you had this already lined up well see when you were touring comedian sessions myself every year you got to come up with a new set
Starting point is 01:04:36 we're not like rappers or singers we can't tell the same joke that was a hit so I'm already in it you know what I mean so when it's ready they get the call I say this is the jokes that's for sale right now and I sell them and I'm going on going with it and that's what happens so now I'm going to be at Houston this weekend and I'm going to start all over again
Starting point is 01:04:58 start all over yeah Quake you know what in this age you when you first started Quake you could tell a joke damn there for a whole year because you was in Houston you go to Dallas and you go to Atlanta and you go to Miami and you go to this place that place there was really no way to commute man man quake told his joke now you tell one joke you got to get a whole set when you go in Houston you move the dollars
Starting point is 01:05:24 you got to damn to get a whole set because everybody doesn't post you it's your line yeah that's why you got to keep them cameras out to comedy clubs you understand that's why you got to do like Dave's appell put them in them
Starting point is 01:05:34 little bags yeah you got to put them in there and keep them that way but I don't worry about that man just the same way I don't worry about nobody still in my jokes
Starting point is 01:05:45 you might can take the jokes but you can't take the creator because it's who told them that makes it everything. So that's where I'm at with it. I'm like McDonald's. I'm over a billion joked toes. I'm going to create another one. I'm going to keep on giving the ticket.
Starting point is 01:06:00 I'm going to have a day. Hold on. I got another one. I got another one. Quay, come on. You ready? Come on.
Starting point is 01:06:07 What do you call a singer with a laptop on a head? What do you call a singer with a laptop on his head? What? Adele. Something wrong with your boy, man. Go get them tested. Go get them today. Go show you something else, boy.
Starting point is 01:06:30 Wait, let me ask you, how long are you going to stay in the joke telling business? Are you going to do this? Say, as long as they're laughing, as long as I can keep people laughing, I'm going to tell a joke. I might be 65. I might be 70. I don't know. I ain't got no time living on it. The great thing about being a comedian,
Starting point is 01:06:48 you can do it to the Lord taps you on the shoulder and say, you need to see you in the office. You can sit up, you can roll us up and put us in a chair and just tell them jokes from the chair and put a microphone in their face. So as long as I'm confident and my mind is good, I'm going to tell them to God tell me to go, because I love it.
Starting point is 01:07:08 I love making people laugh, and I'm great at it, humbly feeling of putting them together. And it's a high like nothing else. And then again, it's therapeutic. Instead of going talking to a therapist and giving him $100 or $200 an hour, I stand on stage and collect $200, $300 an hour. Share my pain, baby. And it's a beautiful.
Starting point is 01:07:37 So comedian, as a comedian, you, your job is to take an event that's happened to use or something you. know are true and make it funny. Is that your definition of comedy? Yes, it's taking your experiences and making them relatable with everybody else and make it funny. Laugh in my pain, laughing my experience in the whole time. That's why you see the great ones. And you also see when comedians get to a certain level financially, successfully, they stop telling jokes because their experience is not relatable to the people that they're telling the jokes to. You know what I mean, so you have to tap out because, you know, I tell my wife this all the time.
Starting point is 01:08:19 I said, you know, Shepard should always smell like the sheep when you're charging the sheep. Wow, I like that. I like that. I like that. You know? So you don't feel you, you don't feel you catch that chip in that you feel you still on that relatable level that you can tell a joke because you still find you fly commercial. You still, you know, hey, I got nice things now. don't get me wrong but hey but i take one day out and go shop at marshals i go to taw jay i go to the bowling alley
Starting point is 01:08:52 i hang with friends most of my friends are not in the economical situation that i am so i hang in their lives and i go on and i be a part of that because they're my constituents who i have to sit to they don't want to hear about this part of it and this how well i'm doing on so i i make myself relatable by putting myself with people that's going through things that I'm going to be talking to so I can just sit and diagnose what they're going through and live by courage through them and then take it on stage that way. Man, that's unbelievable, man. Tell them the name of the country.
Starting point is 01:09:26 I'm going to watch it. You know what? Please do. And watch it right now when I get done because I ain't got nothing else to do. So I'm going to watch it. Tell me what you think about it is called. And the reason why I call it, joke telling business, comedians need to get back to the job description and be funny.
Starting point is 01:09:43 I don't care what they're doing, but if they're on any platform or anything else, stick with the job description. And if you're going to sit here and carry the banner of being a comedian, you've got to be funny. But see, Quake, you grew up in a time that you told jokes. There were, look, obviously, Flip Wilson had a lot of skits. I mean, the Flip Wilson show when he was doing Geraldine, there's something. And now these guys, now, Quake, they hit a lick.
Starting point is 01:10:13 get on the internet. They tell a few jokes. They do a few skits. They don't made it. They're going to get up out of there. But it's not, it's short money, but it's long for now, but it ain't lasting money. What I'm saying, if you want to allow, I'm three decades in here going on my fourth. If you want longevity, you can't skip the process. And that's the same thing you can tell anybody in your profession. Hey, man, you've got to practice. Like you said, the coach, I always say, I would not accept nothing in a loss. I won't get anything in the loss. I wouldn't.
Starting point is 01:10:43 And that's the same thing. You have to pay, I don't, whatever way gets you to our genre in our profession, I have no problem with it. If it's the internet, show, skits, but you still got to hit that stage and sit down here and come with funny jokes to be called yourself a comedian.
Starting point is 01:11:01 And then if you don't want to do that, then take the title off of it. Because I respect my art. I'm just trying to see the protection of my art form. And I'm in a joke telling business, and I sling these jokes. And I expect everybody else to sling them jokes. Man, Quake, man, thank you for the time.
Starting point is 01:11:18 Y'all make sure y'all go check out a special on Netflix. What's it called? Joke-telling. You in the joke-telling business. I'm in the joke-telling business. Number seven right now and climbing in 24 hours out. Man, that's my homeboy. That's my very good friend.
Starting point is 01:11:35 Earthquake, earthquake. Hey, what's your commander's going to do on Sunday? Man, we got to get this win, man. We went down to your hometown and laid the head. I think we're coming out of the West and going to get these charges because they're very vulnerable. Wilson ain't got them. So the Giants got them.
Starting point is 01:11:52 So that means you can get them. So I hope we get them. And baby Jesus is coming back, JD-5. But see what happened when they hold out, man. They get hurt. You know what I mean? Terry held up. Soft tissue.
Starting point is 01:12:03 I told him go hang out with Ocho and stay in shape. So when he did get his money, we wouldn't have no hamstring pools. That's how it normally happens. There you go. That's the great comic. Good friend of the show, very good friend of mine. Earthquake, Earthquake, congratulations on everything.
Starting point is 01:12:23 Congratulations on the marriage. I'm going to hit you up because I need you to do me in favor. I got you. Ben, anything you need. Ochoe, I love you, man. And I can steal a lot for you, Ocho. Earthquake. Make sure y'all go check out his comedy special
Starting point is 01:12:40 on Netflix in the joke telling business, man, look here. I've been knowing that, brother, decade plus. Great, great. I couldn't tell y'all, me, once upon a time, I could have tell y'all what he did for him. He did a real solid for his boy, but we're going to let that go. We ain't going to tell that. We ain't going to tell that story, quake.
Starting point is 01:12:59 We're going to keep that between me and the Lord. All right, on Joe, we're going to get back to our final segment of the evening. and it's time for Q and 8. Jason said, Ocho says he got jokes. I got one too, the Cincinnati Bengals. Hey, listen, see, people love to kick a team when they down. They love to keep a team when they down. The only reason things are how they are right now
Starting point is 01:13:42 is because Joe Burroughs hurt. Let's not get beside ourselves. Zeldorf said we need to start a GoFundMe to get Ocho a T-shirt with the Browns and the Bengals logos, including words, Toilet Bowl champions, because they're only the nine-bowl Ocho Bengals will ever win.
Starting point is 01:14:01 Okay. Hey, I'm Ocho. Okay. I see we got jokes. Okay. Dylan Benel Bidez with a great, tight-in play i need to talk someone's always bring up but i need to ask oh am i tripping on how good algeran alger crumpler uh was crump was good he played i don't believe he was with vick
Starting point is 01:14:23 yeah i think crump went to like four or five promos yeah crumb was nice yeah for a man his size he wasn't supposed to be able to move like that oh cho he was a big boy boy yeah hey hey What was the receiver? Blainebracrump, what, 83? He was white, though. A white, yes. Roddy White. Right, yeah, Roddy White.
Starting point is 01:14:45 And Roddy White, peerless price. Peerless price, yeah. The long gun, love nightcap. Ain't much fun, but I got five on it for y'all. Keep pushing, brothers. Thank you, bro. Thank you. Appreciate the support.
Starting point is 01:14:57 Sir underscore Kate's, my guys. Ocho, if the Bengals missed the playoff this year, Zach Taylor gone. And is? No, he won't. Lamar Robinson, Unc, and Ocho, if I could have one, if you could have one meal your grandma made for you, what would it be? For me, it would be my grandmother's grilled cheese.
Starting point is 01:15:18 Listen, for me, it'd be my grandfather, and it's way back in the 90s. I don't know how he did it. Remember that evaporated milk came in a cup can with the cow on the front? Yeah, yeah, Bortons. He used to make me cream of wheat, unk. I don't know how we did. That cream of wheat was so good, unk. Oh my God
Starting point is 01:15:36 but I do I do anything Obviously it's impossible now But just to have that Creamy really again as a little kid I used to beg for that Me It probably be stewed chicken and rice
Starting point is 01:15:49 Or squirrel and rice fried squirrel Fried squirrel But stewed chicken Man I love man I love man I
Starting point is 01:16:04 Hey, hey, I need to find out what he got some stewed chicken. Who do stewed chicken in Vegas? We can do it. We can go catch the squirrel. We can record that. You heard me? I got a slingshot. You're okay.
Starting point is 01:16:18 But I could go for a good old mess of squirrel and rice. Fried? Lord, have mercy. Lamar Roberts said, okay, that was we read. James Lee said, how common is using stick them on your gloves during your playing time? Jerry Rice said everyone would use it. Have you guys ever used it? Yes, everyone was using it.
Starting point is 01:16:38 Guys used to defensive linemen, an offensive lineman used to use silicone on the jerseys. That's why you see the referees. They always pick the linemen and they pat them down. That's why. Because I didn't want you to be able to grip and grab a hold of my jersey. So I was spread with silicone,
Starting point is 01:16:57 so guess what you couldn't do? Grab my jersey. And guys, offensive linemen, with spray stick them on their hands because when they grabbed the jersey they wanted to be able to hold you right yes it was very common now they cut uh the spray now we didn't have the stick them like lester hayes them had they had to go you know lester had it all over and you know he had it all on his socks he had it all on his forearm he had it everywhere and he touched the ball that ball was done for the rest of the game yeah he was done for the rest of the game but you go back and find pictures of leicester
Starting point is 01:17:36 and you see on his socks you see all on his hands yeah he had that wide base stance yeah but it was it was very common uh zay 2x said hey uncanocho my dad's birthday was last week on september 22nd could you give us a wish and him give us and wish him happy birthday could rank the best wide receiver duels i think my cowboy was number one. Yes, we could. Happy birthday. You didn't give us his name. That would really help if you gave us his name, but his birthday was on last week, a couple of weeks ago, September 22nd. So happy belated birthday. Thank you, Zay, for watching us and tuning in. We really, really appreciate that. Rank the best wide receiver duos. Yeah, I think you guys are up there. I think
Starting point is 01:18:26 you got to put AJ and Devante, even though their numbers currently don't say so. I think you got to put Armoroff St. Brown and J-Mo. I think they're up there. I think Puka and Devante, they're up there. Obviously, CD and Pickens are there. Chase and T. Higgins. Uh, man, St. Brown got like six touchdowns already. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:18:56 Hey, but he dissing that boy, that ball, boy. If you had to take one duo right now, you're taking Chasing Higgins? Absolutely. I mean, even with, I know Joe Burroughs hurt, but I'm taking them in right after them, the next do I would probably take.
Starting point is 01:19:16 If it wasn't chasing T, it'd probably be J-Mo and St. Brown. Yeah. For me, I would probably say, I can't take, I can't take a T in what you call them, not with that quarterback. Not with that quarterback.
Starting point is 01:19:32 I probably would take almond raw for me it would be between Armand Ra and J-Mo and Pooka and Devante. All right, that's a good that's a good one. Man, Matthew Stapha, Ocho, he dealing.
Starting point is 01:19:45 Yeah, if you're going to throw Puga and Devonte in there, I'm going to throw Jefferson and Addison in there too. Good point. Good, great, great, great point. Um, yeah we solid peggy hager said godell is mad at prime for not taking his nephew to colorado they took it out on chador i don't know anything about that i don't i don't know if roger goddell has a nephew i don't know i know he has twin daughters met his wife when i did the
Starting point is 01:20:22 thing for a netflix a couple years ago but i don't know anything about that so peggy that's what you said hey jason zellie Eldorf said after Monday night game, I was wondering if Unk was going to have to call the cops to do a wellness check on Ocho. Yeah. We put paint. Man, that's embarrassing, Ocho. Jamar, the singer said, I know Ocho, he fell asleep under an A.C. But if he keep it a buck, it was, stop eating all that, uh, Ocho.
Starting point is 01:20:56 I don't know what aunt is, you got to say it. booty bag on head we were excited to have D. Wall can you ask him if he thought those black uniforms
Starting point is 01:21:07 were dope you like those dolphin's uniform also? Yeah, I like it is different. It's different.
Starting point is 01:21:14 I like the old school I like the old school, the teals. The teal is nice with the white pants. Yep. That's nice. I think the black
Starting point is 01:21:21 was something different. You know, little chains don't hurt. Dr. Frankie L. Bellamy said, okay fam it's time for some humor who you got leslie nilsson and naked gun or jim carry and pet detective oh that's a good one leslie nilsson i'm going with leslie nilsson too that job was funny boy man hey that was funny boy king of the one-liners hey i think the chat might not know about the naked
Starting point is 01:21:50 gun though man please neckie gun hey they better go they better stop playing hey boy that was funny before him. And then the one they had, the one with O.J. in it? Yeah. He was in all of them. He was? Yeah. I ain't know he was in the first one. Yeah. But funny. Jerry D. Say, Okanocho, my man, Jaden Blackwell, did it again. He broke the world record and the 400 meters at the world championship for the U.S. Paralympic track team. And he run the 100? Ain't he run the 400? Hey, congratulations, bro. Congratulations. Hey, we are very, very proud of you. We're happy for you. Congratulations.
Starting point is 01:22:28 again another gold medal hey we can't say congratulations and thank you enough but continue to keep up the great work and y'all see this paralympic gold medal against the world that means you can't or this or that no excuses one would here i can't or this or that no i love to see i love because i normally watch it ocho to see these men and women i see you know people swimming with one arm no arms man and you're going to and somebody to complain. Man, I ain't trying to hear nothing you saying. Nothing.
Starting point is 01:23:01 Don't even talk to me about that.
