Starting point is 00:04:13 So that's kind of what teams are doing now. Even though we go overseas, international games, we'd have joint practice. We go against the 49ers, 907. We do one-on-ones, do all that stuff. It's not just, you know, one-on-one is different because, you know, we're seeing on one, do all that stuff. It's not just, you know, one on one is different because, you know, we see these guys, guys have never seen us before. So it's, you know, a. So it's all geared up and you want to make them look bad. They try to make you look bad because, you know, they watch it.
Starting point is 00:04:36 Oh, Joe, they see it. They're wide receivers go against our DBS. We watch it. Our DBS go against them, you know, go against them. So I'm definitely trying to cook. Yeah, most definitely. I look down there. Oh, damn, they got, I got good. I'm about to tell somebody ass up. Oh, I ain't lying.
Starting point is 00:04:51 I'm about to tell somebody ass up. Kubota get this because, you know, I'm doing both. I'm playing wide receiver and I'm getting a tight end. Really wasn't no fun for me because they couldn't guard no tight end position. So I spent most of my rep side wide, but you're not getting that working game like situations. Nothing prepares you for the game.
Starting point is 00:05:09 Like the game is so funny. I don't think people understand that as much as you practice, no matter how much you practice when you get into the game, it's completely different. It's completely different. You could run two plates play one, two, two, three plays. You run all day in practice. You get in the game, you run two, three plays. You're exhausted. There's something wrong. To the sideline, I'm going. I never understood it. And I still don't understand it to this day. Why? I don't know if it's the adrenaline, the pressure of actually it being live. I just don't know what it is.
Starting point is 00:05:50 Yeah, that because I don't know how you do it, but when I ran around, I didn't breathe. No. Because you don't. Right, right, right, right, right. Mm hmm. Yeah, listen, right, right. Mm-hmm. Yeah, listen, I, one sec. Cause all that, cut back, you ain't, I mean you like, uh,
Starting point is 00:06:10 cause think about it, when you run, you not breathing. Oh, you sure, you sure not. You sure not. Yeah. You talking about breathe, son? Nah, hell, I wish I could breathe. In a game, you know, I was so nervous before kickoff, I had butterflies in my stomach.
Starting point is 00:06:23 Even when I went in the huddle, you know, first, first series of the game until I touched the ball, not until I touched the ball, did I relax. It gave me a sense of calm. Touching the ball gave me a sense of calm and confidence. Like I never had before, which is weird. I didn't get all that talking throughout the week with the media. And I'm nervous as hell inside because I ain't had no choice but to back it up. Oh yeah.
Starting point is 00:06:51 Well, you gotta be, I mean, you gonna be nervous. So absolutely. I mean, I think when you stop getting nervous, it's probably time to go. Yeah, yeah. Cause I don't care how comfortable I was and how good I became, I still got nervous. I still got anxious.
Starting point is 00:07:05 Whew, man. But like you said, um, once I caught that first one, once I get that, you know, you know, we've mud up. Pop. You're good. Okay. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:07:18 And now I know what, I know what type of game is going to be. Oh, they, Oh, they biting today. Oh Joe. Oh, they bite today. Oh yeah. They bite. Okay. I got me a beer over here. I just got to make sure I get him to the board. I can't let him off the hook. I'm like, Hey, come on. I, John, I got a fish over here. Now come on. Don't let him get away. But man, if those Miami, they kept it rolling. Oh, Joe, they beat your
Starting point is 00:07:41 phone. Come on. This don't, that don't count that, that, that don't count. That don't count. That don't count. Listen, my family, we got $700,000 to come play this game. Now, what we did do is we counted up that little $700,000. Now we're going to take a little break and we're going to give Alabama State, Alabama A&M. We're going to give them what what they looking for week after next. So what UM did to us, what UM did to us,
Starting point is 00:08:11 that's okay, that's okay. We gonna be all right. We gonna study, we gonna study. We gonna watch this tape and we gonna add the 24 hour rule to it. It's out the window. It's out the window and on to the next. We appreciate that. Appreciate that money.
Starting point is 00:08:30 HBCU's when these big power five schools ask you to come, don't y'all take less than a million dollars and y'all make them pay for y'all travel. Northern Illinois got 1.4 million to travel to North South Bay, Indiana. How far is that trip? How far is Northern Illinois from South being? They'd be paying these schools and no joke, by the time I played, by the time I played for travel and they guess what they always require you to bring
Starting point is 00:08:58 the band, you know, the band even go, the band ain't go, the band ain't go. And it's right down the street. They normally, they normally require you to bring the band. Matter of fact, you know what? Maybe it was only 700,000 because Tallahassee is right down the street. There ain't nothing but a hip and a Scott. No, I need a meal.
Starting point is 00:09:14 I need a meal. At least a meal. They got it. Oh yeah, of course. Of course. They got it. Private institution, they got it. Big time. They got it. Private institution, they got it. Big time.
Starting point is 00:09:25 They got it. I ain't coming less than a meal. And you gonna play for my travel. Cause hell, Ocho, by the time, if I bring all them players, I'm trying to play, that's 200,000. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:09:41 So now I guess how much did I get? I go to the hotel, Ocho. put everybody out for the book for a night. That's another 50,000 product. You probably walk away with falling some change. Yeah, no, I need to walk away. I've been to walk. I need to walk away with 700 to a million. I'm paying. I'm paying. Guess what? Because I'm paying for the whole the whole book.
Starting point is 00:10:04 And damn, that's like you buddy., but you're gonna come out of that. Dang. Cause that's what you do, don't you? That's what you're doing. Right. You're trying to, you're trying to supplement your athletic program with that ass whipping that you know you gonna take.
Starting point is 00:10:19 So that's what I'm telling, that's what I'm telling. Cause I remember, I think Savannah state, they played Miami. I think they played Oklahoma state got beat like 84 or something for like, yeah, like 400,000 I'll say, Oh hell no. 84 points. 84. It's all good. It's all good.
Starting point is 00:10:43 It's all good. Fam. You we good. all good. It's all good. It's all good, fam. You we good. We good. Our state beats our Kirk Ferris returned from his one game suspension to much fanfare and also 50 50 cents. Many men they wish the Hawkeyes welcome the coach back jumping out to a 19 seven lead midway through the third quarter, but the cyclones found a way late mojo thanks to a 75 yard TD path
Starting point is 00:11:09 from Rocco Beck to Jalen Noel. And then a 54 yard game winning field goal with just six seconds to go after losing six straight in the series. Our state has now won two of the past three meetings in, in Iowa. Yeah. They played a game on how state plays in a Iowa city is where I will play. Listen, why, why would, you know, I'm confused. It's only week two.
Starting point is 00:11:33 Why is I when Iowa state playing this early? Shouldn't this be like a game for the last game of the season? Yeah. Oh, you told me like, like, yeah. What are those? Why? Oh, that that Michigan Ohio. Yeah. Yeah. Mm-hmm. I
Starting point is 00:11:53 Guess I could be wrong. I could be wrong. Maybe that's not their main rival Yeah, I was absolutely it'd be like George George attack Clemson Curious, why would you be playing Florida Florida? Why would he be playing in week two as opposed to saving? Don't start me to lie. That's weird. Don't start me lying on Joe, but, uh, all I know is what to call them. Uh, got that, uh, I was, I was, uh, I will stay feel good. They went to, uh, went to their, their rival and in one of all game after being down 19 seven Penn state avoids an upset against bowling green winning 34 27 bowling green took a 24 20 lead well into the third quarter
Starting point is 00:12:35 before Penn state finally found his footing to kill two key interceptions in the fourth quarter. Stop bowling green. What'd you think? Oh Joe, I thought, I thought Penn State was in trouble. Yeah, listen, I thought they were two, uh, Connor, Connor baselick. I think I'm, I hope I'm saying his name, right? Uh, bowling green quarterback. He had a decent game. He had a decent game.
Starting point is 00:12:58 If you take those interceptions away, I think Penn State loses that game. You take those two and two interceptors away. I think Penn State probably loses game and as, as good as Penn State is, or let me say as good as Penn State was, they didn't look up to part of day because when you think, when you think about a team like Penn State, you expect them to blow bowling green out the water. You expect them expect them to blow Bowling Green out the water. You expect them to blow them out the water. And that's again, I think it's because it's so early in the season, but that's really no excuse. They play down to the competition.
Starting point is 00:13:38 Hell yes. It's early in everybody's season. Like you don't play, I only played, you don't play eight games and I play two. Hell, everybody only played two games. Uh, Oklahoma state Cowboys wrangle up the hogs and double overtime 39 31 and still water the Razorback look boys to actually win a road game. But the Cowboys reeled up 21 straight points to open the second half and finish off the comfort behind win with Ollie Gordon, a second touchdown in overtime. How many overtime did they have? Yeah. I didn't get to see this game. Because I think after the second overtime you have to go for two points. No you start going it's two you just
Starting point is 00:14:19 start going for two points. You start a two-point conversion there right at you. I think that's how it goes. After the second overtime or Joe, you go, you just two point conversions, okay. So they know you, you know, you just get one shot of the two point conversion. You get it. Okay. The other team, they get a shot at it. If they miss it, you win.
Starting point is 00:14:38 Cause it used to be, you know, you kept going cause that was that LSU in Texas, they had like seven, eight, over times. up going because that was that LSU and Texas A&M had like seven, eight over times. Jordan Love is expected to miss multiple weeks after suffering what is believed to be a sprained MCL during last night's season opening loss to the Eagles in South Sao Paulo. Love will undergo further testing to confirm the diagnosis. The Packers hope is somewhere between three to four week injury. Sources say typically MCL do not require surgery.
Starting point is 00:15:08 The Packers home opener is a week from Sunday against the Indianapolis Cope. Malik Willis, who's acquired by the Packers and a trade from the Titans last week, took the final two snaps and incompletion on a sack. The other quarterback on the contract on the Packers roster is Sean Clipper last year's backup who was released last month in the final cuts, but resigned to the practice. Damn man. That sucks.
Starting point is 00:15:34 That that's that's that actually sucks for Jordan love. It does man. Let me see. I mean, six weeks at best for with With technology, with technology today, I'm saying three. I'm saying, you know, everybody here differently, Ocho, you know, everybody here, that's the estimated time. Could he possibly come back and have a brace on it? He could possibly get back, you know, that three weeks that's pushing it.
Starting point is 00:16:01 All things being equal. I probably. What's their record all things being equal. I probably what's their record. Oh, okay. That is right. Right, right, right, right. That's a good one. I'm glad you said that.
Starting point is 00:16:13 That was a good point. So, man, I agree with you on your, I mean, promising, um, future guy playing really well last year, first year starting, um, over 30 touchdowns, like 10 or 11 interceptions played really good, played himself into a great contract. Looked like the, he's the quarterback of the future. The one thing we know about the, uh, the Packers is that you look at says 92. They've only had three starting quarterbacks.
Starting point is 00:16:43 That's it. Very, very fortunate. Now, imagine if other teams, very, very, very other franchise were that fortunate. Gaza, good, great, durable, because that's the thing is durability. To be able to take that kind of punishment. And then obviously, it's still a physical game. Now, let's not take that. of punishment. And then obviously it's still a physical game. Now let's not take that.
Starting point is 00:17:07 I'm not going to say it's not a physical game, um, but they've taken a lot of the physicality out of it, the way you can play the quarterback. Uh, you see what they do, they, how they, uh, modified the kickoff rules. So a lot of the physicality is trying to get legislated out of the ball game. And I understand. I don't want people to think I don't understand why, you know, billion dollar lawsuits tend to your appetite for, for, for jacked up and knockout blows. It kind of dissipates a little bit.
Starting point is 00:17:37 Oh Joe. But I hope Jordan love a speedy recovery man. Cause uh, the pack is going to need him. Definitely. Jordan love. I know you're going to see this. I got something for you. I got a home remedy. Hear you right on up real quick, boy.
Starting point is 00:17:52 Shoot, make it two weeks. The Eagles Jalen Carter revealed that he's been receiving very hateful DMs following his tackle that led to Jordan Love get an injury. Ocho, what do you want to say to the Packer fans? Packer fans. That's, that's be classy, baby. Let's be class.
Starting point is 00:18:11 You know, it's foot be classy. It's a big tackle. You don't have tackle. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:18:19 But I mean, listen, as, as players, we also can't allow that stuff to get us. Can't let it get to us. Especially, you know, listen, you do that to somebody's franchise quarterback. Oh, you're going to get some backlash. Oh, you're going to get some hate. And sometimes some of the words they're going to use are going to be words that you don't like, you know? You're going to think they, the R word, you know how they're going to do you.
Starting point is 00:18:44 Yeah. The R word, you know how they gonna do you. Yeah, sticks and stones, sticks and stones, man, they break my bones. But words don't. Fuck them. Yeah. The Brown game doesn't start until tomorrow, but as of the morning, the fans are already tailgating. Is this the dog pound?
Starting point is 00:19:07 Is the dog pound the most hardcore fans in the league? Most hardcore? The Bills might have something to say about that. The Bills would probably be the most hardcore. Hell, they might have been tailgating all this week. Yeah, for sure. For sure. But the Browns, at least the Bills have had a lot to celebrate.
Starting point is 00:19:36 Yeah, with Josh Allen. Man, the Browns, even when the Browns were losing, the Browns were terrible. Yeah. Didn't matter. You get there early in the morning, they're still here. They showed up. They got their Brown on, they got the dog mask. They out there, man, they win or lose. Win or lose. We're in a lose. I commend fans that are able to do that. That's not what I am. I'm fair weather when it's fair.
Starting point is 00:19:59 I'm there. Hey, and I'm not talking about just the weather. I'm talking about, will y'all win? I'm there. Uh, and when the weather is nice, I'm there. about just the weather. I'm talking about will y'all win up there. And when the weather is nice, I'm there. I ain't sitting in no cold. I'm not sitting in no 100 degree, no,
Starting point is 00:20:12 nah, I can't do it. Definitely can't sit in, like Green Bay, to be a fan in Green Bay and Chicago. Ooh, in November, December? Man, listen, Green Bay and DeSimba, boy, you really gotta love football, boy. You really gotta love football. You gotta love the Packers.
Starting point is 00:20:30 Damn football. You ain't playin'. I love football to go out there with you. No, you love the Packers. You love the Bears. You love the Broncos. Or you love the Chiefs. Teams that play in that Pittsburgh.
Starting point is 00:20:46 Yeah. Cincinnati. Yeah. Baltimore. You love that. The Patriots or New York, you love you. You are a true fan. If you go sit your ass out there in that cold and it's 10, 15 win.
Starting point is 00:21:08 Man, I got nothing but love for fans I ain't got nothing but love for a mojo because I know who ain't gonna do it you ain't gonna be it it gotta be my brother and then if I got a family member playing you know my brother playing yeah I go for my brother if I like buck and the burns were playing one of my homeboys yes but to watch people I don't even know oh hell My homeboys. Yes, but to watch people. I don't even know. Oh, hell Mm-hmm. Oh, hell no, but I commit a defense You got to love it When they say they love it. Oh, they they mean they really do they mean a name plan Yeah, that's family to them Yeah, the browns hey, hey, like I said, I played you know, I've been going to when they, what was
Starting point is 00:21:46 the municipal stadium? I think they played in municipal. Oh, when they tore down before they got what they got now, it was a dump. But them fans, they were out there, Ocho. They were out there. And I was like, man, whew. Wake up with football every morning and listen to my new podcast, NFL Daily with Greg Rosenthal. Oh, anytime, anytime another team. Yes. Something happened to a play on the other team, no matter what the call, if it was a cause and if it's something good, oh boy, they gon, they gon get you right. They gon, they gon get you right.
Starting point is 00:27:22 Yep. Yeah. Yeah. I got the bills there. They do it right. You all played in Buffalo? Yeah, I played in Buffalo once. Eric Moles was there. Eric Moles and Peerless Price was there. And the second time I played there, I forgot who, I think it might've been Stevie Johnson.
Starting point is 00:27:44 Stevie Johnson might've been there if I'm not mistaken. And then I play it. Did y'all go to Toronto? No, no, no, no, no. You know, I ain't going, I ain't going nowhere. When I went on the road and I grabbed my food, I do my little dinner and I'm right back at the hotel ready for team meeting. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:28:01 I don't, yeah, I ain't never do that. I ain't going nowhere. hotel ready for team meeting. Yeah, I ain't never do that. I ain't go nowhere. That's where you learn like, nah, I can't do that. Right. What's in Toronto? It's nice.
Starting point is 00:28:18 Now hold on. I remember I played with the LoS now, one year in Montreal. I went to Toronto. That ain't Toronto, that's the other Montreal. I went to Toronto and I that ain't Toronto. That's the Toronto. Huh? We went to play Toronto.
Starting point is 00:28:28 Okay. And still, I, well, you shouldn't know what's up. No, no, I did the same thing. We got in, went to the hotel, got me some McDonald's went right back in. They ain't do nothing. Now I hear stuff about Toronto. I mean, I mean, but I mean, you know, you know, better than me. I see, I see the look you gave me.
Starting point is 00:28:45 So I'm assuming. So is Toronto like Houston? Is that what you're trying to tell me? No. Whoa, whoa, whoa. Hold on. I'll show you that. Don't do that.
Starting point is 00:28:53 Now you have, you say it's up there near the bar. I got paid. I got to pray. Lord, I'm asking for forgiveness. You don't, I'm just saying, oh, don't you break up? Don't be just. I saw the look you gave me. You gave me the look and you tilted down your glasses to let me know.
Starting point is 00:29:09 Like I write. Oh, Toronto, Toronto, Toronto, Toronto, Toronto, Toronto, Toronto, Toronto, Toronto, Toronto, Toronto. So are we talking, are we talking equivalent to Houston? That's what I'm trying to say. No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. OK, I'm just saying, I'm just checking. Hey, but I tell you what, hey, back in the back in the early 90s, Prince used to have a couple of clubs, the Glam Slam and I think First Avenue.
Starting point is 00:29:34 Wait, Prince Prince. Prince Prince and he was in there. And they were in there. They were in there. OK, with there. OJ was in there. You body body? You was in there? I'm body body. You was in there?
Starting point is 00:29:53 Oh, you know what I'm saying Ocho? You boy, I had to repent. I've done some repenting. I've asked the Lord to forgive me. Hey, I couldn't imagine partying with Prince. I know that's a time there boy. I wasn't partying with him, but he was in there. And you know, hey, don't show there been some time.
Starting point is 00:30:07 I had hit that Jimmy Swagger. Father, I'll send. Right. I had to ask them for forgiveness. Oh, Minnesota, Minnesota is one of the great secrets. Minnesota? Don't sleep on it. Minnesota?
Starting point is 00:30:25 Like that Like you said oh, I'm a change man, right I'm with you I'm with you when you're right, but what it had six foot Mmm like Jessica Raddick. Come on now. Mm hmm. You know, I was a little bit. I was out on the trail. You know, that was really wavy. We got a lot back in. We got a lot back in, a lot back in. Okay, okay, okay, okay.
Starting point is 00:31:08 Brandon Cooks had a lot to get off his chest about the DAC haters. Ocho, let's take a listen to what he had to say. I mean, it's, it's unbelievable. I mean, the guy shows up every year, year in and year out, putting up numbers, leading his team. He can't do it all by himself, right? A lot of those great quarterbacks that I've been with, Tom and Drew,
Starting point is 00:31:30 they don't get me wrong, won a lot of games, won a lot of Super Bowls. But they had a lot of help around them as well, right? And so us players around them also got to step up. And so when we hear that disrespect, I take that personally and ask his teammates, we should take that personally. Because at the end of the day, somebody got to be able to help him get over that hump. So we can go win one.
Starting point is 00:31:50 I like that. I like because I like what he had to say. You got to take your quarterback, but it's one key thing that he did say deck Prescott can't do it by himself. He needed his teammates to help him. And most of the time, what's been an issue when they get to the playoffs, it seemed like sometimes some people disappear. It seemed like some people disappear when it comes playoff time. I think,
Starting point is 00:32:16 uh, go ahead. Go ahead. I was just going to say like better play from the quarterback position in the playoffs where it matters more with the pressures on Again, you understand times like that. This is a game of moments and when those moments arise you got to come to the party You got to come to the party with a keg of beer But Dak gonna have to play better in The playoff.
Starting point is 00:32:45 We can't look at the number. We just, see, people just want to look at Dak's numbers. You go look at Dak numbers against Green Bay, they might be pretty good. But he got those numbers when they were down 28, when they down 21, when they down 17. I need to see those numbers in a nip-tuck ball game. I want to see those numbers when they played San Fran.
Starting point is 00:33:04 Remember when they was Green Bay and Green Bay had them down, they were down 21- those numbers when they played San Fran. Remember when there was Green Bay and Green Bay had them down, they were down 21-3? And they fought that rally. I'm like, come on now. I get it. See, a lot of times people just want to look at numbers. Man, look how many touchdowns he had. Look how many did. But when did they come? Because we've seen guys, guys, excuse me, in the game, have 150 yards receiving. They done lost the game by 21. What the hell is 150 yard receiving, you lose by 21. So that tells me you got a lot of them yards in my book.
Starting point is 00:33:37 They paying off, they just, hey, they said, hey, nothing cheap, nothing deep. They gonna let you catch the stuff, keep your butt in bounds, and keep the clock moving. Ah hell no. Give me a guy that got 80 yards and we win the ball game as opposed to a guy that got 150 and we lose by 14, we lose by 21.
Starting point is 00:33:56 Cause I know how those yards came about. So all yards aren't created equal. Now if we got, you know, it's a nip tuck ball game on Joe and you got 200, you got 175, okay. But all's a nip-tock ball game. Oh Joe, and you got 200, you got 175. Okay. But all of a sudden you done lost by 21 and you out here talking about, man, I, but I went off. Man, please. But, uh, I like what Brandon was saying.
Starting point is 00:34:19 I like that he supported his quarterback. Um, yes, the guy look at quarterback, but the playoffs is about the quarterback always. It really is. Now, especially when it comes to wins and Super Bowls. Now, if they like you, the the the the men and women that vote. Oh, he won this and he won that. They'll say, well, he didn't really have a good quarterback. And so look at his numbers if he'd had this, but if they don't, then they use that against you.
Starting point is 00:34:51 Well, that's really a team. It's a team sport. When they don't like you, they don't want to get you in. It's an individual sport. Oh, okay. I'm just, I'm just saying, I'm just, just keep it the same. We all play the same. He played with 11 on offense and had 11 on defense. Let's just keep it the same.
Starting point is 00:35:12 But I do love what Brandon Cook had to say. Stefan did spoke about adjusting the life after Buffalo. Whoo. Buffalo, Houston. Let's take a listen to what he had to say. Damn, Houston just keep coming up. I'm always believing where I'm supposed to be when I'm supposed to be there. My feet are right here, this is where I'm at.
Starting point is 00:35:31 And I have like, what you're saying, like I don't wanna talk bad about my old girlfriend and make my new girlfriend feel good. I'm saying like that was a good fit too. It's great people over there who being here, this is why I'm right now, this is where God placed me. And it's amazing people, you know what I'm saying? If I like it being a good fit, you know, this is where I'm right now, this is where God placed me. And it's amazing people here, you know what I'm saying? As far as being a good fit, you know, this is where I'm at, you know what I'm saying?
Starting point is 00:35:49 This is where I'm placed. There's some great people here. I can't say that's a lot of Southern House mentality here, even on this team, even around the building. I'm just happy to be where I am. Saying all the right things. I like that quote. I'm not going to talk bad about my old grip girlfriend make my new girlfriend feel good. That's a good That's a good one right there. That's a good one
Starting point is 00:36:12 But I'm not sure what type of Justin you got to do going from Buffalo to Houston It's gonna adjust itself. You ain't even got to do nothing Hey Cole, whether you ain't outside no more You think about it you you indoors, you indoors, you got eight games at home, you indoors at Indy, you in Jacksonville, Tennessee. Now you might get rain in both places. Maybe you get Jacksonville early,
Starting point is 00:36:35 probably not gonna get no rain. I mean, you could get some rain, but yeah, I played much better in the hot than I did in the cold. And I played much better in the dry than I did in the wet. That's just me. You different. I like playing in in the hot. Yeah, I like and I played much better in the dry And I like where that you meet you different. I like playing in the cold battle Mm-hmm. Hell no It's cold out there. Oh
Starting point is 00:36:55 My dog still no But I like but I like I like what he has to say. I like you like I got nothing bad to say about them I'm here. I'm happy to be here. This is why I'm supposed to be God doesn't make no mistakes. I Enjoy my time in Buffalo But now is my time here in Houston and my job is to try to help them win as much as they possibly can and Hopefully we can get over get over the hump and get a soup bowl. So I like I like What he what he what he had is I like what he had to say. That's very professional.
Starting point is 00:37:28 I like it a lot. That's what you like to hear from your captain. Yeah. I'm excited. It's football. You know it's football tomorrow. Oh Joe, we have some breaking news. Angel Reese is out for the year with a season- Ouch.
Starting point is 00:37:43 Ending injury. She announced on her social media. What a year. I never could have imagined last bucket of my rookie season would be a three. But maybe God's saying give them a taste of what they'll be seeing more of in year two, LOL. Through it all, I've shown that I belong in this league even though no one else believed. I'm not so sure about that.
Starting point is 00:38:02 You're the seventh pick in the draft, Angel. I have ever wanted to come here, dub, and make an impact. I can confidently say I have done and will strive to keep doing so. I'm filled with emotions right now and I have a season-ending injury, but I'm filled with much gratitude for what's next. Although this is God's timing, not mine,
Starting point is 00:38:20 I'm finally able to give myself a physical and mental break. God gives his hardest battles to his strongest soldiers. So you'll see me being the biggest cheerleader on the sideline and unrivaled league. See you soon. What was the injury? Do you know? She didn't disclose a risk.
Starting point is 00:38:42 If she's reporting it, they're reporting it disclose a risk. If she's reporting it, they're reporting it's a risk. She probably needs surgery, huh? Probably, it had to be dislocated, especially if it's season ending. Now that, ooh. About to throw some ligaments or something. That's messed up. That's messed up.
Starting point is 00:38:59 Yeah, I mean, she played well. But Angel, you the seventh pick of the draft. It's hard to believe that nobody believed that. You know what? I think you more so talk about just the haters. There's always been people chirping regards to when she was at LSU, even though she was drafted seventh.
Starting point is 00:39:16 And even still, even still, you know, people still chirping about anything they can find. Anything they can find, anything they can talk about, they letting it rip. They letting it rip. Hold on, my phone just died. Let me get my charger. Yeah, I think, she played well.
Starting point is 00:39:37 I mean, average 13 points, 13 rebounds, double doubles. I think she got 20 plus double doubles, had a couple of games where she had 20 back to back, then had a 19 rebound game, didn't have to throw through another 20 rebound game in there. She was phenomenal. Um, I always thought her game would translate, which is ability to rebound the basketball consistently because she wants to ball more than the opponent does more than anybody else on the court does.
Starting point is 00:40:02 That's why she's able to lead the league. She has the highest average, um average for rebounding in a season. She had the most rebounds in a season. She's been phenomenal. I'm not surprised, but when you have a great skillset, it normally will translate. And her skillset is the ability to go get into basketball. Dennis Rodman had it, Charles Barkley had it.
Starting point is 00:40:27 Both of those guys were, Charles was really underside. He's the shortest guy to ever lead the NBA and rebounding. Dennis Rodman wasn't, he was 6'8", but he wasn't 6'7". But he wasn't overly muscular, wasn't overly big. But his desire to get that basketball. And want his want to. Yeah, man. Yeah. So, I'm happy that she came in and did, I'm sure she proved a lot of people wrong that
Starting point is 00:40:56 thought, you know, but if you look at what she did at LSU, what she had, I think she said the SEC record with the most consecutive double doubles. And that's a conference that Asia Wilson played in that's a conference that Sylvia Files played in a conference that Simone Augustus played in a little Boston. So it's not like it's you know Candace Parker played in that Who has played in that Sonya round tree from Georgia, what's, uh, catches to make a catch is played in that, in that, in the sec. So there've been some big name players to play in there and for her to have
Starting point is 00:41:34 the most consecutive double doubles. I think she had the most double doubles in sec history. I think that speaks volumes to the type of player that she is. So I'm, uh, I'm happy. I'm happy for Angel that she was able to have an outstanding season. Sorry that it got cut short, but like she said, I know she'll be in the gym in that lab,
Starting point is 00:41:54 getting ready when she's able to work out, that wrist heals up and she'll be back. I wouldn't be surprised if she averaged 14, 15 rebounds next year. Guys obviously wants to win. She wants to win a championship, but I think now what she's project, what they want to do is to make sure their position themselves to be on that Olympic team in 2028. I think that's a position they, they, they, they, they, they, they, they
Starting point is 00:42:17 gonna be there. They're going to be there cause they not, they not going degress. They're going to continue to prove year to year. So I look forward to seeing them in LA and Ms. Clark. Now it's time, Ocho, for our last segment of the night. It's time for Q and A. Hey, we got NFL football tomorrow. We what you mean about we had a Thursday and Friday. I mean, we got a full slate of games.
Starting point is 00:42:48 Yeah. All right, Mike said, whoever gets fired, I'm ready to replace them guys. No one got fired tonight. I like to watch the chat. I like to watch the chat, Ocho, but for some whatever reason, the live video, it was playing back through my computer
Starting point is 00:43:01 and I can hear it in my ear. So what we call reverberating in the business and imagine you talking. And I'm talking to your ear now, sometimes, you know, you, you know, uh, we'd be at a segment in the, uh, the producer might say, well, you know, don't forget this point of blah, blah, blah, Shannon, you're up next. So forth and so on. Um, Stephen, a, but throw to Stephen, A, Steve and A want to come back at you or something. But to continuously hear it for an extended period of time,
Starting point is 00:43:30 it gets to be annoying. And so that's why I'm doing that. Hey, you was hot though. You were hot though. You were hot, I'm like, well, come on now. You was probably, you was mad I was a little late. And then you got the reverberating in your ear. So that just, you know, that's.
Starting point is 00:43:46 Yeah, I was, as they say, I was agitated slightly. I don't know if they were recording at that time, but they got it. Somebody got recorded and posted when you got hot. God damn it. Hey, is's just, hey, y'all better not put no meme up there on me. Hey, that was funny.
Starting point is 00:44:12 Y'all always doing something, y'all messy. Internet, y'all messy. I think you might not have been on camera though. It was on camera. Hey, that was funny. It's funny now. You know what, Ocho? That is you, they say that I think about it. I pull a Bill O'Reilly inside edition.
Starting point is 00:44:30 You remember Bill O'Reilly? I know you don't remember, but you all remember, Bill O'Reilly did the same thing. I'll do it myself. Yeah. Yeah, I was, because I'm like, hold on, wait a minute. And so I'm looking at Jordan, Jordan, looking at me like boss out. I'm looking at Ash and Ash is on the phone.
Starting point is 00:44:51 She tried to get it worked out, but bad. Yeah. Um, look, and I, my sister tells me this all the time. She likes Shannon things. They're going to go perfect all the time. She's like, Shannon, you want me to pay all the time. She say, Shannon, you want profession all the time. And that's impossible. I ain't gonna patient now.
Starting point is 00:45:08 You need patience. I got patience sometime when you don't have patience. Hold up, they already made a meme? That bad, man, I better not be trendy. I bet I better not be trendy, y'all. Y'all some suckers. That's a success. Y'all some suckers y'all better help me i ain't ready yet i gotta see i gotta see let me let me go to twitter real quick because hey wait man y'all be on some bulljacks well you was hot boy that was that was funny
Starting point is 00:45:45 I don't see it yet. Damn, I don't see it. All I know is y'all better, hey, hey, I thought whatever happened in night camp, I thought that stayed with us. Y'all ain't family. Y'all be waiting to get something on me. Damn, I don't see it yet. Good. Nah, I don't see it yet. Good.
Starting point is 00:46:08 Nah, I don't see it yet, but that was funny though. Good. I don't want you to see it either. Oh man. Yeah, man, let me let me lay them out them down and stall them out stall them out stall them back. Yeah. Yeah, but I had a had a O'Reilly moment. When he was trying to do.
Starting point is 00:46:36 Oh yeah, there. Man, y'all got me man. Come on. Somebody found it. I thought that was Somebody found it. I thought that was- Who found it? Ash found it. All right, now I want to-
Starting point is 00:46:48 Don't let Ash, Ash will speak and put it up. Hey, send it to me. No, we ain't don't send it to him. Oh yeah, oh, there you go, there you go, there you go. It's right here. Look at that, look at that, oh, there you go, there you go. Hey, I'm using that as a meme. I'm feeling closer right now.
Starting point is 00:47:07 Oh, they they they got it good too. Some some called grindstone grindstone universal. Bad y'all need to go ahead. Kevin Northwood Jr. What up, Kemp? I'm saying, uh uh I know it's early in the season, but will the Bubs make the playoffs? No, they're not making the playoffs, man. They're not good enough to make the playoffs. They're not finna run, they're not finna win
Starting point is 00:47:35 10-11 games, no. DG, what's up, Ocho? Question for Ocho. Ocho, I see Man 25, you've been even more influenced, especially in game mode Superstar Showdown. Can you tell us how that came about? I mean, I think just being a part of Madden in general, as far as the position I'm in now,
Starting point is 00:47:59 now that I'm done playing, it's the fact that I've always been a huge gamer. I've always been a huge gamer, and've always been a huge gamer and in love and had a love and passion for the game itself. The people at EA know that. They understood my love and passion for the game and wanting to be a gamer, not so much a content creator,
Starting point is 00:48:18 but just be a part of EA in general. So the position that I do hold at EA and being able to be integrated into the game in some way, in some format is, is, is always been a dream of mine. And obviously, you know, I do the ratings, the EA ratings for the players, you know, during in, in season and, uh, they did the opportunity to present itself. And, you know, they, they, they, they came and knock and then I answered the door. And, uh, it's, it's, it's one of the best, one of the best jobs, one of the best gigs. And I'm thankful to still be able to not be playing,
Starting point is 00:48:53 but still be a part of the game in some sense, even if it is Madden. Yeah. Yeah, I thank you, Perfect for the job. I can't thank anybody more perfect for video games. I appreciate that. I appreciate that, huh. I appreciate that. Yes, sir. Yeah. You. Ah, can't see this. Hey, good old Joe, can you all wish my daughter Harmony,
Starting point is 00:49:17 a.k.a. Harm Dog, happy birthday. She'll be 12 tomorrow. I want to take the clip and surprise her with it. Thank you so much. Huge fan of the show. Harmony, AKA Harm Dog, happy 12th birthday. Your dad want to wish you a happy birthday. Unc and Ocho, the Claret Nightcap want to wish you a happy birthday also. Starting point is 00:49:56 Boss lady, hey shout out to Southern and Savannah State for football entertainment tonight. Love me some HBCU culture. What's y'all top three HBCUs? Mine's fam, Bethune, and JSU. Of all time? Well, if all time you talk about, it's gotta be Grambling. It's gotta be Southern. It's gotta be fam. Okay.
Starting point is 00:50:17 Maybe Jackson. It's close. But Grambling, when you talk about this, like, all time, Grambling, to put them to two other players in the NFL. Yeah. I think in re- Southern is another one that had a bunch of guys that go to the NFL. I think for me, in context, when we talk about HBCUs, for those that don't know know that are in the chat that are watching. I don't think they understand my love for music, my love for the band, my love for always wanting to be a drum major. Obviously I played, I played the saxophone.
Starting point is 00:50:53 I played the piano growing up. Always wanted to be a go to FAMU and be a part of their band, but I couldn't. So when I went, when the question that's being asked, I always do it from a band perspective, my top three HBCUs, obviously fanbuse number one, obviously. And if I had to, if I had to choose two after that, from a band perspective, I'm going probably Jackson State and Southern or Southern and Jackson State. You know what?
Starting point is 00:51:21 And honorable mention is Alcorn. Wait, oh wait. They told me how to say it right. Alcorn. Alcorn state. And it's just a band and just, dog. I could talk about that all day. I know you don't want to hear that shit, but okay. But that's it. I'm gonna let it go. Wake up with football every morning and listen to my new podcast, NFL Daily with Greg Rosenthal. Starting point is 00:56:07 smarter than your friend who's a baseball fan. You listen to me and then you go tell him, hey, I know this and you don't. So I make you smarter than your friends. That's what Jimmy's Three Things is all about. Listen to Jimmy's Three Things on iHeart Radio app, Apple podcast, or wherever you get your podcasts. Starting point is 00:56:39 Well, hell, you know, I'm leaving my, I ain't leaving my arm a lot out. Day 1st? Hell, I went there. Day 1st? I don't care if they're first, they're going to be in my, they say, I'm leaving my I ain't leaving my arm a lot out. So that's the first hell I went there first. I don't care if they first they're going to be in my time. They say she's a top three. So I, you can put anybody else you want to put it there.
Starting point is 00:56:52 You want to put a grammer, you want to put Southern, you want to put more house. You want to put Howard Hampton, Norfolk state union. I don't matter. Savannah state number one. So you know what? Savannah state, Grambling Southern. Damn.
Starting point is 00:57:13 That's crazy. Tigers always gonna be. Dr. Frankie L. Beveler, when you turn into the Incredible Hulk, I get nervous. I put myself in time. I didn't even do anything The a now, you know now, you know how my kids felt now You know why I didn't have to I didn't have to go pull the bit out with my kids Cuz when I got banned I get that look
Starting point is 00:57:52 Oh, Tennessee, you know, you got Tennessee State, you got Southern Texas Southern Tennessee State got a bunch of players in the NFL that went to the NFL. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. You know, they got a Tennessee State had number one overall draft pick the only one that's ever been number one. And to tall Jones. I think 747 Adams with the Tennessee State, too. 747, you know, back there, back back then, all. The players, all the black college players, they had nicknames. That's what that's where it comes from.
Starting point is 00:58:24 Like Eric McNair and Willie satellite Totten and world all world rice, big hands Johnson, 747 Adams, uh, brought, uh, Jefferson street, Joe, Joe Gilliam. Um, the Lord's prayer. His name was the Lord's Prayer. But this boy has some funny names. You go to the black college, you go to the black college, and they always have the nicknames and parentheses. So yeah, it's funny seeing those guys.
Starting point is 00:59:01 There are a lot of guys, that's the thing, you still call them those nicknames. Like, don't nobody call him Ed Jones. Everybody call him Tuto. Yeah. Yeah. I've never heard anybody call him Ed, even though I know that's his name.
Starting point is 00:59:18 But everybody call him Tuto. So, yeah, but Black College, everybody, for the most part, everybody had a nickname. Who we got? Glo the Stro, Ocho, thank you for the picture. Houston, I had the red hat on after the show you made trading my vacation a few months back. Worth it. Glo, thank you for coming. Ocho, she said she wanted to thank you for taking a picture with her.
Starting point is 00:59:43 Glo, you're welcome. You know, I'm always for pictures. I think I'm not sure if you look at the picture. I'm not sure if my hair was done. But... And you had him sign that book, glow. Don't think I don't remember. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:59:56 Oh, you remember. You remember? You remember that? Yeah, yeah. You know, I'm listen. I'm all for pictures, even though I look funny. If you see me in public, always feel free people, always feel free. Lainey, oh Lainey, oh you must be at the bar, hold on. Lainey, were you at the bar, you in the corner?
Starting point is 01:00:19 You gotta, hey guys, I'm at the bar tonight, so cheers to everyone, even though you guys probably never needed to use one. What's the best pickup line? Pickup line? Oh, so you can't use them? Yeah, but I ain't, I don't want no problems. I told you.
Starting point is 01:00:44 I'm trying to say, walk a walk up to it at the bar. It'd be like, if I could change the alphabet. What you gonna change it to, Ocho? I put you and I first. That was corny, but I mean, I don't really, I just like, I just, I mean, when I did, I just introduced myself, Hey, I'm Shannon. That was, what's your name?
Starting point is 01:01:25 But I told a story when I went. I had this girl when I first got to Denver, probably like my second year, probably my second year, I walked up to this girl and she was fine. She was fine. Everybody else, they say, I told you like white girl, they told you, but she was white. So I walked up to her. I mean, she was fine. Everybody else, they say, I told you, like, why, girl, they told you, but she was white. So I walked up to her. I mean, she was fine.
Starting point is 01:01:49 Don't you? When I say, yeah, yeah. Yes, I'm talking about like dirty laundry in the dorm room. Yes, I like that. Okay. So I went over to us and, you know, I was talking to her, you know, trying to get her G and they, but she was seeing very reserved. So I want to take you out.
Starting point is 01:02:04 She said, I ain't never, I ain't never dated a black guy before. I said, hell I ain't either, but come on, give me your number. We both got something to call, but come on with it. Leeds just say, G gave it a double. Right, right, right, right, right. Oh, Shay. Hey, little do y'all know, I was still current before.
Starting point is 01:02:27 I like that. How did it go to what happened? What happened? It went well. OK, OK. You know, we can't we can't we can't do you still do you still talk to this person after all these years or are you lost communication? May I know I know they see you doing well now. They trying to reach out to you. You know what?
Starting point is 01:02:48 Sometimes I wonder if they, if they, I think they remember me because I don't look at it different. I still, I'm everybody say I still look the same. I still got the same haircut. So really not a whole lot about me have changed other than. I'm 30 plus years. I'm 30 plus years old. I got to Denver at when I was 22. I just turned 22 and now I'm 56. So that was 34 years ago and a lot of eight years in between.
Starting point is 01:03:18 But I do. I sometimes I wonder, I mean, look, I've seen people that I've dated on the Internet. They're married, got kids and stuff like that. I was like, wow, that's really cool. But I was to please don't mention me. Don't mention me. Because, oh, you know, he could know he not going to be cool. Because there's a natural comparison, there's a natural line. Oh, you was with him.
Starting point is 01:03:43 OK, what was he like and it was, you know, and you only you only pick me because you can get the person. I actually want. That's why that's why for the most part, if you don't know who I've dated, I'm going to tell you. So there ain't gonna be no comparison. I don't need you to try to. Well, she had this and she had that.
Starting point is 01:04:03 She had what I like. You want date novels. So why the hell you care what she had and what she ain't have this and she have that She had what I like you wasn't dating I was so why the hell you care what she had and what she didn't have I like this You know, so, you know, I like little Joe but uh, I like that line What's up, what's up, baby lose that chicken dinner come get with a winner. Yeah But look you got used to me, you know What's up? What's up, baby lose that chicken dinner come get with a winner. Yeah, that's a good But look you got used to me, you know You young ocho, you know, you see a badge, you know
Starting point is 01:04:41 I was always respectful because I know how we react if I want a chick and a dude grab to my abit Oh now Don't play don't play in my face Oh, come on. Hey, baby. Oh, now don't play. Don't play in my face. And that's what I, I, you know, guys, you know, I know we're going to be respectful now. If y'all see at the mall, if y'all go to another club
Starting point is 01:04:55 and she and he's not with her and y'all want to shoot y'all shot, but come on, man. Come on, man. They're going to let y'all just disrespect it. And why would you see? I see. I don't like I've never been one old Joe. I don't like people that pray on the week.
Starting point is 01:05:12 Oh, because you're in the NFL and the guy he might not have what you have. He you look at him, bro. You don't know what you don't do with your ass up. And then what? Let that go, bro. All these all these tricks in here. And you got to just have that one. You just want her because she with him
Starting point is 01:05:30 and you trying to flex. Ain't that serious to me? No, sir. So, oh, oh, Missy said, oh, do you think Malik neighbors is going to have a good rookie year? I think he'd have a better year if he had a better quarterback. But yes. I think he'd have a better year if he had a better quarterback.
Starting point is 01:05:45 But yes, I think he's going to have a good year. He wanted, he wanted him. He is one of them. Oh yeah. Oh, he got tremendous hand. He was a, he could high point the football. He's great in traffic. He can play through contact.
Starting point is 01:06:00 He can run after the cat. He transitions really well in and out of breaks. Oh yeah. He's either, Hey, absolutely. You need to stop talking about there's your gift. Stop it. You're going to have people going to search for it. Ken Johnson said, Uncle Nocho, I'm a Jackson state grad with Jimmy Smith.
Starting point is 01:06:20 Get inducted into the hall of fame. Well, Jimmy, Jimmy should have been in a long Boy, Jimmy Smith. I thought Jimmy was unbelievable. Man, Jimmy should have been in there a long time ago, man. I thought Jimmy was unbelievable. You talking about could run, rock, or finish, could play through contact, another guy high point. Oh man, Jimmy rocked your ass. Give me the real deal. And you know, hey, the Cowboys drafted Jimmy
Starting point is 01:06:38 in the second round. But you know, I think he got into a wreck. He ended up having his appendix removed and he never really panned. Just think about it. It'd been a great, just imagine him and Mike, he on one side once they got rid of Alvin Harper. That would have been nasty, boy.
Starting point is 01:06:56 But you know, he went down to Jacksonville. And cut a fool. Him and Kenan. Him and Kenan. And Mark Brunel. And Kenan, yeah. And Fred Taylor. Boy, Freddie. At first they had, they had Natron.
Starting point is 01:07:07 They had Natron means. And then Freddie G came after Natron. Yeah. But Freddie was a real deal, boy. Casey Taylor, yo, I'm with Ocho or do I have my, hold on. Yo, I'm with Ocho. I like feet. Feet or booty.
Starting point is 01:07:24 I don't mind. But, uh, let's say you had a woman and you love her and she just took a shower and you had to choose feet or booty. What you choosing? Well, why don't you just say Shannon, what did you rather get run over by a Mack truck or dump truck? That's not a, that's not a good comparison, huh? Yeah, it is.
Starting point is 01:07:47 At some point. I gotta choose one? At some point, we're gonna get you there. I understand you got a crawl before you walk, but at some point, depending on who you're dealing with and who you're dating, we're gonna get you there. Bad Georgia. Guess what this fool George say? Beat Tuss the Flow, the booty dog.
Starting point is 01:08:11 Ah, like that. I need to write that down. I don't even have my pen and paper on me. I need to write that down. That's a good one. Ah, man. That's a good one. Damn.
Starting point is 01:08:21 Beat Tuss the Flow, that ass don't. I like that. Ooh, wee. I guess I gotta go with the feet. There you go. All right. There you go. Ooh, Lord. Don't worry about it.
Starting point is 01:08:44 We gonna get you there. Nah. Yeah. I'm like you, Lord. Don't worry about it. We gonna get you there. Nah. Yeah, I'm like you, man. I ain't gotta choose. No, I ain't choosin'. Too late, that's not part of the question. Hey, hey, hey, hey. They gonna have to be like the military.
Starting point is 01:08:56 They gonna have to draft me. Cause I ain't signing up. Oh, they got to draft me, Hojo. You might, listen. And I'm going to Canada. Even if they do draft Yeah, you might listen and I'm going to they do draft. You better pull Ali. I'm going to Canada. Yeah, this gives my religion. Don't be they done nothing to me.
Starting point is 01:09:19 All right. You see, you don't you don't understand, man. Hey, man. Hey, hello. They got the emoji. They got the feet emoji. That's feet? Yeah, you see the feet? Yeah, they got the feet together.
Starting point is 01:09:36 Why do they look red like that? That's the sole of the people feet. Your feet black? I mean, what you been stripping on? I mean, that's red though. Like that looks completely red unless something wrong with my screen. Something wrong with your screen.
Starting point is 01:09:51 I mean, see, your feet, you know, your feet, you got some ugly feet though, Ojo. So. Oh, no. But listen, I get me a manicure, a pedicure every Friday, man. Ain't nothing wrong with these feet. My feet, I got pretty feet. Says who?
Starting point is 01:10:08 Says you. Everybody. Yeah, my feet cool. My feet cool, too. Hey, don't put them feet in this camera, man. Don't do that. Don't do that. Hey, come on, man.
Starting point is 01:10:18 Come on, come on, man. Come on, man. Why you tripping, man? You good. You good. You good. Look at the toes. You see the toes?
Starting point is 01:10:30 I ain't trying to see your toes, man. I stepped right there. I stepped on them. I jumped in the back of a pickup truck and jumped on the nail. That's why I got that cut. That's why I got that cut in the bottom of my foot. I jumped in the back of a truck and a piece of wood was sticking up
Starting point is 01:10:48 and had a nail in it. And I was like. Man, you shot, you shot at him. So you know what? I'm gonna get somebody to get on my toes, kiss my, eat my, suck my toes. Yeah. I like that. I miss my, eat my, suck my toes. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:11:06 I like that. Nice, nice inside. Yeah, look at that, Ocho. Ocho, I ain't joining your club. You a member one. No, no, listen, it's a whole community of us. Ain't no community, y'all. It's a whole community of us. I'm telling you.
