Starting point is 00:02:01 Listen to the Solid Verbal College Football Podcasts on the I Heart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. We don't just love college football, Thai. We live it. Shadoor responded to Dylan Gabriel's comments for the first time today. Ocho, let's take a listen to what Shudor had to say. Yeah. Honestly, I don't even think about nothing.
Starting point is 00:02:24 I don't think about anything. If it's not words or anything, you know, at this point, I can't do anything to me. You know, I know, you know, the God put the ability in the power within me to not even think about nobody else's comments, not care. It is what it is. I spoke with him. He said, nah, bro, that wasn't. He said, that wasn't. He told me on a plane.
Starting point is 00:02:43 He came up, he was like, nah, bro, that wasn't at you. I see how they're trying to spend. I'm like, oh, I'm not tripping regardless of whatever it was. I don't, nobody's words or anything affects me, you know. So, yeah. Did I believe him? Did I believe him? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:02:59 I mean, I feel like you're trying to start stuff now. No. I'm like you're trying to start stuff. I mean, he's doing his job. He's supposed to. Do I feel like he did? I don't know. And that's not on me to sit here and be like, oh, he did.
Starting point is 00:03:13 He did it. That's not going to change my life in any way. Hmm. Yeah, he'll... Oh, so when they ask you, did you believe it? He could say, yeah, I believe it. What do you say? He said, there ain't enough for me to believe it.
Starting point is 00:03:25 He's no. what it was you can't hey you know what it was you know he don't care nothing about that he don't care hey you just want to play ball baby that's it i want my opportunity i want my chance to shine all the outside noise all the distractions i ain't paying none of that no mind he's distraction he started this he started docho look you should do it at this point says look what someone says it's not going to impact doesn't make me better doesn't make me worse what somebody has to say I still have to go out there and do my job yeah and when given the opportunity that's
Starting point is 00:04:12 exactly what I'll do mm-hmm because he got he's been going through this for a minute huh yeah I'm somebody has something to say about him they've been they've been digging at him for the long time he's been prepared for this he'd been yeah but normally the people that's taking shots at me ain't on my team that'd be that that'd be that'd be like that'd be like the team we we we're family here now somebody else taking shots okay we deal with that we we we come together yeah oh jill let that go but we can't be we can't be throwing rocks inside our own house and break out of window excuse me boy it's the nfl we ain't here to make friends I'm here I'm take your job. I got, I got kids. I got miles. The baby need milk. Child support dude.
Starting point is 00:05:04 Yeah. But it's Mercedes Benz. I got to pay the bill. I got mortgage. I ain't here to be your friend. I'm not supposed to like you. We're here to compete. What we talk about? Okay. Team of Nash, man, please. I don't see you. I got miles to feed. I want to, I wonder if that was the situation, and they'd ask you something about something like, look, hey, I don't care if the guy came from the same team I came from, we went to college together. I don't care enough about that. I'm here to compete. they should have I would have answered it the right way I would answer to the right way I think
Starting point is 00:06:01 I think Chador's been coached very very well but he did a lot of laughing in that to keep from saying what he really felt and how he really felt You notice that on show? He's loud for him. The whole interview.
Starting point is 00:06:16 He's savvy. He's savvy in front of that camera. He's been doing it for so long, huh? Oh, yeah, for sure. He's doing it for a minute. It's just tough. Like, at the end of the day, look, get my opportunities. What he or somebody says about me doesn't change my.
Starting point is 00:06:36 It doesn't make me play better. It doesn't make me play worse. Right. That's his opinion. He said what he said. I just have to do what I have to do once I get up. When I get my opportunity, I go make plays. That's it.
Starting point is 00:06:49 It's really that simple, Locho. I mean, there ain't really, there's not a whole lot of other ways around it. There's no sense in me saying, oh, oh, this, that, whatever. At the end of the day, this is what it's about, and I'm going to go do my job. And, but it gets even more interesting. According to Pro Football Hall of Famer, Eric Dickerson, the NFL told teams not to draft should do the NFL
Starting point is 00:07:14 told teams don't draft him we're going to make an example out of him somebody called the Browns and said
Starting point is 00:07:20 don't do that don't draft it or he says don't not draft it right because he said
Starting point is 00:07:30 don't draft him but the Browns ended up taking him or don't do him like that oh but the Browns took
Starting point is 00:07:40 what we're okay Wow. Somebody called the browser and said, don't do that. Don't draft him. Now, we have a case study. I mean, the judge once said that he believed that they were in collusion. There's a text message chain, email Jeff Pash and Roger Goodell. They've gotten better now. Well, basically, it looks like they are, say, hey, we've got to keep these salaries down. They're getting out of control. So this is not out of the realm of possibility. But I get that, Ocho, I get that. Right.
Starting point is 00:08:16 We want to suppress the salaries for as long as we can to keep them from skyrocketing, even though the value of teams are increasing exponentially. The revenue is increasing exponentially. Yeah. But revenue is increasing, but we want to keep wages low. It's kind of like what we see in the real world. Minimum wage ain't moved in. Years.
Starting point is 00:08:41 Yeah. What is it minimum wage? $750? $7.50? Isn't that minimum wage? I think $7.50. Because it used to be $3.37. I remember when I was the kid, it was $3.37 an hour.
Starting point is 00:08:52 Now it's $7.25. My bad. I gave y'all a quarter more than your hand. Ocho. So you see all these wages, CEOs, CFOs, we see everybody. But the worker, his wage, his or her wages, are still 725 that's minimum so let me so in other words everything gets to increase the cost of living goes up housing food cars wages stays the same i see my bosses i see everybody else is going here
Starting point is 00:09:26 but the workers they stay here so as the players are seeing like these franchises going for six billion the valuation is 10 billion the evaluation is 12 billion we see tv revenue what ESPN, Amazon, Netflix, NBC, CBS. We see what they're willing to pay. So those are increasing. They got to check every listen chat. Every team got a check for $432 million. That's before. That's just from TV. Now, I didn't mention anything about local television, local advertising, parking, tickets. sales, concession, merchandise. I didn't mention anything about that. Yeah. So while everything explodes, let's suppress the players. Am I missing something, don't you?
Starting point is 00:10:33 No, we're not. But that, listen, when we watch the, draft you wonder while Mel Kuiper was going off the way he was Man Mel was losing his mind losing his mind because he know good and well he was a top three pick
Starting point is 00:10:52 in the first round he knew that we all knew that if you watch the game of football if you look at the quarterbacks that went before Shador I mean hello the only one who's looked decent this offseason this preseason he plays in New York
Starting point is 00:11:08 he plays in New York. Outside of that, the Saints still don't have a quarterback. No. The Saints pick that nine, if I'm not mistaken, right? I think there might have been nine. The Steelers still don't have a quarterback. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:11:30 I mean, come on, man. Come on, man. And then the people that are oblivious, that purposely turn the blind eye and act oblivious. oh why would the owners collude why would they care i'm like you know and it's like it's almost like you can't be that you can't be that come on man y'all pick and choose when to when to use logic when to have common sense when to see the bigger picture when to understand why they would this specific end of it's like come on man oh cho this is what ed said this is this full quote
Starting point is 00:12:08 I tell you this much, what I heard from someone that's in the NFL, that the NFL told teams don't draft him. Do not draft him. We're going to make an example out of him. And this came from a very good source, a very good source. But apparently, Shadur had fallen much further than anticipated, and some league officials called the Browns and forced them to take him with the 144th overall pick. he he said that i won't say who somebody called the cleveland brown and said don't do that draft him because they weren't going to draft him either they were forced into drafting him because somebody made that call to them i heard a very similar situation with the michael sam
Starting point is 00:12:54 situation so this is not the now i'm not listen i'm not saying that this is true i'm not saying the michael sam's situation is true but i did hear that that there was a call, and it's funny that the Rams drafted the kid from Missouri. He wasn't that good, huh? No, he wasn't that good. No, he wasn't. he wasn't I mean some tried to make it about his orientation
Starting point is 00:13:45 but Ocho if he could have got 15 sacks hell his boyfriend could have been a cheerleader they would they wouldn't a game with damn please hey you know the NFL is a business they by A
Starting point is 00:14:04 can you do whatever your position is can you do it if you're a quarterback can you throw if you a receiver can you catch if you're db can you if you're db can you break on the ball knock the ball down if you're a d lineman oh joe can you bend the edge can you get to the quarterback i don't care of all the other stuff can't about that hey that was funny but you that was funny i'm going to be a truth in the same year the chat door i'm telling the truth If I don't care nothing about that. Oh, man.
Starting point is 00:14:39 They're in the business. We're going to try to find a guy that can get the job done. Yeah, no matter what you are. No matter what you are. You're right by that. Whatever you believe in, whatever, that ain't got nothing. Hey, that's, that's, you do it on your time. I ain't policing.
Starting point is 00:14:54 I ain't policing. Nobody bedroom, they home or nothing. Hey, but you. What? If you say, if you can, if you can get, if you can get, a 15th sacks and boyfriend could be a chill leader yeah people get people get mad about that they've got man they'd been that male chip man he would just be finding stuff to get mad about ocho i i mean what is we ain't watching the game for the cheerleaders anyway what i mean
Starting point is 00:15:24 what do you care don't matter i don't care no i ain't never cared oh my goodness boy that was funny but yeah but uh but i heard i did i did hear that i did hear that a very similar situation I didn't hear this about your door I mean I've gotten away from it I've kind of like I haven't gotten away from the league Ocho but I don't call as many people as I once did like when I first got to Fox
Starting point is 00:15:52 yeah I'll call and try to you know make sure I know and every once in a while there are some things but then they're like Shannon you too close to this right just step away but y'all know know. Y'all know.
Starting point is 00:16:13 Yeah. But it'll be sad if this is true. Oh, if this is true, this is, this is, this is, this is, this is be so sad. Oh, man. Hell of Kelly can see what's going on, man. Yeah. You got on draft day. Ray Charles could see what's going on.
Starting point is 00:16:27 Like, come on now. I said, I said, I said that the same day. when we came on the show during the dress like what are we doing hey guys it's a z fud you may know me as a gold medalist you may know me as an NCAA national champion and recent most outstanding player

Starting point is 00:19:43 I'm Jake Hofer, and this is Back 40, a limited series show on Wire to Hunt, part of Meat Eat Eaters podcast network. Each episode, I'll be asking eight wide-tail hunting pros, a focused, thought-provoking question about hunting and land management. How do I hunt the best part of the farm with? less than ideal access. Should you, that's what the real question is. Stand without good access is not a good stand. Listen to Back 40 on iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcast, or wherever you get your podcast.
Starting point is 00:20:15 Urban Meyer compares to Deer Sanders' NFL spotlight to Tim Tebow coming out of Florida. The issue that I remember Tim had, and the GM told me this, is that if you're a backup quarterback, they don't want all this media attention on that one player. Coaches won't team, team, no distraction. How long can Shadour be a backup quarterback
Starting point is 00:20:35 until the NFL decides that he's too much of a distraction? We saw this with Cam. He struggled with securing backup roles because he brought too much attention. But here's the thing. Cam was a rookie of the year. He was an MVP. He was a pro bowler many times.
Starting point is 00:20:58 Right. Chudor has never started. I can see. Also, I can see if he had Cam credentials and he says, okay, but he ain't never played a game. He ain't played a game.
Starting point is 00:21:12 How do you know if he can or can't be a backup? I get what they said about Cam because Cam had already identified himself. Cam had already established himself. Yep. So, okay, yeah, It's tough. It's tough when a guy is to that degree.
Starting point is 00:21:34 Right. Cam was a pro bowler. And wait a minute. But Cam, Cam was going to never have a career like a Josh McCown, like a Ryan Fitzpatrick. Never going to have that because they weren't that to begin with. So it's easy because, see, the thing is even though Cam, as Cam got older and some of his skills diminished, even though as a backup, they still expected him to be Cam Newton because he what?
Starting point is 00:22:01 He still is Cam Newton. Right. I already know what I'm going to get from Flacco. I already know. Ain't nobody under the illusions that Joe Flacco is going to play like he did at any point in time like he did in the playoffs. You're under no illusion that Ryan Fitzpatrick was going to ever be anything more than what Ryan Fitzpatrick
Starting point is 00:22:22 or Josh McCown had ever been. Right. But if you get Cam, even if you bring him in, you expect magic. You expect him to turn back into K. Superman. You expect him to turn back into that. Yeah, I don't even like, I mean, the media is covering Shador. He's not asking for you guys to do that.
Starting point is 00:22:53 He's not asking for that. They're covering him for a reason. I mean, listen, I've never seen covers like this for a fifth round. No. No, Ocho. He's on the front of anything having to do with the Browns is his face. It's his photo. It's his picture on everything.
Starting point is 00:23:16 It's the same thing with Bronte James. Hell, I couldn't tell you the first pick of the draft was. Hell, I couldn't tell you the first five picks. But you don't pick, you know what, Brianne James. Everybody they're talking about should do it. That means they cover should do it like shoot should do it with the first overall pick right to cover Bronny just like he was the number of an overall pick Last name. I just man all I can say is bad bro when you get your chance just shine That up. That's all you can do what you'll meet you and I and others being outraged that this could be
Starting point is 00:23:56 a possibility possibility oh cho i'm tired of getting sued what i'm not i'm good i'm good i'm good with them folks over there we good we good bad i was just like uh this is sad yeah nobody saw this coming the only thing i did see coming oh cho we talked about this leading up to the draft new orleans at nine Oh, yeah. But if he gets past New Orleans and nine, there's really nobody that needs a quarterback
Starting point is 00:24:31 from 9 to 21. Yeah, for a while. And then if the Steelers don't take it. Yeah. But, okay, there's a scenario. I can see him falling out of the first round, but I ain't see him falling to the fifth round. No, absolutely not.
Starting point is 00:24:52 Absolutely not. Colts announced Daniel Jones as quarterback one over Anthony Richardson. Coat's quarterback, Cam, Colts quarterback coach Cam Turner was asked if the staff failed, Richardson. I feel like I've tried everything I can do, and I feel like he's giving great effort in that aspect, too. I don't think either way, one or the other. Ocho.
Starting point is 00:25:24 We talked about Ocho, when the most, moment they signed him. Oh, Joe, I tried to, I said, oh, Cho, it's just like, chat, y'all guy's at your job. Let's just say for the sake of argument, I'm going to be generous. All of you had a job that make at least $100,000 a year. Yeah. They bring somebody in there and pay him $700,000 a year. And y'all have the exact same job.
Starting point is 00:25:48 Now, which one of you guys think is leaving? The right was on the wall. You don't pay that man no four. Oh, Cho, that's starting money. Right. $14 million to be a backup? That man wasn't never going to be no backup. Never.
Starting point is 00:26:05 Never. And if Anthony Richardson didn't play, bro, the worst thing could happen. Ocho, first play, first pass play. Sack fumble. Dislocate his pinky. The line is sliding to the left. He's hot out the right. Got hit him dead inside his head.
Starting point is 00:26:26 I can see. Shane Stiking, God of the mercy, Jesus Christ. I took my glass, well, I'm saying that's what Shane, the head coach, that's what he said. Yeah. This is a third year player and that is an elementary blitz. The line is going, Liz, you're hot. Any one player come. It's cap protection, which means everybody is free to release, Ocho.
Starting point is 00:26:53 You got five line sliding. They brought the guy to the officer tackle, say, I'm taking the most dangerous, step down. Now, what he should have done, it says, nah, let's rip it. I'm going to slide the line to the right. We protect it now. So I could drop back and throw it piece. Bro, if why, also, the thing is what's confusing to me,
Starting point is 00:27:20 it's a Liz call and you look at that side. You protected that side. were you not protected to the right yes the tight end turned around for the hot read right away and the back run the flat route
Starting point is 00:27:35 because that's not his job in scat protection no eligible receiver has a responsibility to block that's why they call it scat which means five eligible guys are out on the route scat protection
Starting point is 00:27:51 you got five men now if you call something else you know you call a 50 protection 70 protection your tight end might stay in or you can call a protection to keep the back in right or you can sit tail the back to chip his way out but that doesn't that that that looked like a scat protection which means five eligible receivers five offensive linemen and the quarterback makes 11 the linemen obviously can't take their big ass out and run no route so they block it right quarterback can't go out because he's throwing the ball so your five receivers maybe it's three receivers a tight end on the back, free to go. Yeah. I also think they made the decision because they're playing, they're playing,
Starting point is 00:28:36 they're coaching for their jobs this year too. Yeah. They're coaching for their jobs. And if they had to go between the two quarterbacks, which one of these quarterbacks do I trust? Get the job done for us and get, us our best chance to win to save my ass to save my job so i don't get fired because i was hard in the you chose that they chose daniel jones i mean the lesser of the the lesser of the
Starting point is 00:29:09 two i mean which way do you go you either running into you run into a lion's den or a tiger pen with pork chop draws but either way they're saying they go okay there you go there you go there it is hey man i'm so you already know so you already know what's going to happen hey so now you know what this does tell me for one i i would i would hope anthony and rich as got got his stuff together going into his third year because after this season they would have had to come see him yes they would have had to come see him after this yes but this also lets me know Daniel Jones is starting this year that means in the 26
Starting point is 00:29:53 what 2026 draft they will be drafting a quarterback in the first round see day Jones then got paid once he good they will they will be drafting a quarterback
Starting point is 00:30:06 the coach will be drafting the quarterback and this upcoming draft in April but the thing is Ocho is that look everybody knew that Anthony Richardson was a project yeah bring a veteran guy in let him learn up under yeah i don't even think not even learning up under
Starting point is 00:30:30 someone like that would not as many reps in college and in high school he has to play he has to learn through playing going through the ups and the downs he ain't seen enough to play he's not seen enough for him doing it for the sideline ain't going to work yes him it has to in the game you see what happened put him in the game his third year he got hitting his earhole because he didn't know what to do so you think a guy that's coming out as a project and he needs to play immediately the only way you're going to get it right is by being out there Carson didn't play right away How did that Carson Palmer do
Starting point is 00:31:17 Carson had John Kitting in front of him Carson Palmer's also Wait didn't Carson Yes he won the Heisman trophy The first pick of the draft He compared him to that Come on that I'm just Ocho
Starting point is 00:31:32 Look at the quarterback Look at who he had coaching him Right He has Steve Sarkesian and Elaine Kiffin There's a reason why archmanaging in Texas who's the head coach sark right he also had he also had matt liner lefty look at look at lane kiff and look at the quarterbacks that he had at Alabama what are we doing here you bring a guy in and you're like okay he's a project
Starting point is 00:32:06 and you oh cho a project is something like you know what it's like an old car it's a project I'm going to take my time. But once I get it up and going, Ocho, that thing is the thing of beauty, a building. It's a project. But, hey, turning something beautiful. You don't get a project, Ocho, and try to live it a damn thing.
Starting point is 00:32:25 The suit, hey, I'm moving in next week. Hey, hold on. A project, you're not picking a project with the fourth picking the draft. That's what I said. But I said if you do, I said if you do. Okay, okay.
Starting point is 00:32:42 If you do, you bring someone in and you let him see how it's done. Right. But it's got to be someone that's confident, like, look at what they did with my homeboy. They traded all way up, took it with number 10, parked them behind Alex Smith, boom. Yeah, yeah. If Tom Brady can wait a damn year. Anthony Richardson can wait a year if Mahomes can wait a year
Starting point is 00:33:17 if Carlson Palmer can wait a year Ben Rothensburg Philip Rivers Eli Manning started on the bench the number one pick yeah Anthony Richardson could start on the bench he needed to learn
Starting point is 00:33:34 Ocho he hadn't played enough college football and like you said he was a project yeah damn man that's messed up, man. But you know I'm surprised by that, when we saw this, I said, he's going to be starter.
Starting point is 00:33:49 Listen, I wasn't surprised anyway, because I already knew it was going to happen in regards to the quarterback competition that they continue to make or they tried to make it out to be. Once I saw Dave Jones get that kind of money for one year. Thank you. The writing was on the wall.
Starting point is 00:34:04 I mean, who are they fooling? That's the game. That's the game that they play. When you understand the game, you already know what's coming. You already know, you already know what's coming. Man, it's unfortunate. I hope all works out for him, no.
Starting point is 00:34:21 I like, I like Young Bull, man. Hey, maybe he needs to go someplace else. But he needs, he needs to get with somebody. Like, I would love for him to go to a Cliff Kingsbury, a Sean McVeigh, one of those minds. Andy, well, he's not going to be able to go. But I'm just saying, you know what I'm saying, Ocho? Right.
Starting point is 00:34:42 guys that will let him develop. You can't take a project and say, okay, we're going to get you to play. And now, because they got, they got talent. Yeah. They got a nice offensive line.
Starting point is 00:34:52 They got an outstanding running back. They got skill position players. They just devoured a quarterback. They good enough to win offensive. Yeah. You look at their skill position players. You look at that offensive line. They good enough to win.
Starting point is 00:35:06 Yeah. The quarterback player has just been, since Andrew Luck retired, look at all the quarterbacks they've had. They've had, they've had Philip Rivers, they've had Matt Ryan, they've had a host of quarterbacks. Ken, to be exact. Damn. Coach Belichick appears to take a shot at Patriot's owner Robert Kraft.
Starting point is 00:35:28 Belichick was asked, what's the biggest difference between coaching in the pros and college? It's a lot of football, and there's not much in your way. There's no owner. There's no owner's son. Lord, have mercy. Hey, hold on. I'm confused, but Bill, Bill ran the show when he was there. Thank you.
Starting point is 00:35:55 He ran the show. No, he literally ran the show. I know. Okay, okay, okay. Coach, I get it. It always hurt, oh, Joe, when we get let go from a job, it hurts. does no matter how long oh cho you could be at a job 35 years right you had 35 great years if they relieve you of your duty you feel they've done your wrong yeah
Starting point is 00:36:22 most definitely especially when it's not on good terms the coach Belichick understands the pros not like college Mike Shishetsky could have stayed at Duke as long as he wanted coach summit rest of soul she could stay at Tennessee as long as she wanted Coach Smith, unless there's something egregious, unless there's a scandal, a la Bobby Knight and his credentials at Indiana, they're going to stay.
Starting point is 00:36:54 Pros don't work like that. You don't get no lifetime contract in the pros. No. They wouldn't get rid of coach saving at Alabama. They wouldn't have got rid of coach paternal at Penn State. Like I said, something egregious, a scandal. all bets are off once that happens right but coach Belichick you ran the show every you got they gave you everything you wanted mr. crabb didn't bother you was not in
Starting point is 00:37:26 your way damn you had 20 years six Super Bowls oh that's crazy six You know what, Ocho, honestly, I just hope one day they can sit down and have a conversation. They are. It's going to happen. Because if you really look at it, Mr. Kraft is so different than Coach Belichick. I'm talking about. And you know, it's funny as Bill, Bill is cool as hell. Yes.
Starting point is 00:38:02 There's a whole other side of Bill that no one has had the opportunity to expand. He was at the Pro Bowl one year, the coach. Yes. You're absolutely right, Ocho. Because all they see is, you know, Bill in front of the camera. You're talking to reporters. Man, there's a whole, man, listen, I had to, man, Bill was on the show with us, man, for six months straight last season.
Starting point is 00:38:25 Boy, so funny. So funny. And obviously, you know, personality and all that stuff, you know, playing for the Patriots. But seeing him in that environment away from the, such a joy. I was at the Pro Bowl with him. Um, and seeing him around the bar and interacting with the guys, he's totally different. Yeah. He's totally different.
Starting point is 00:38:50 He's opening. He's engaging. He's funny. Yeah. But he got, I'm going to have to disagree. I will have to disagree with you on this one, Coach Belichick. I think you're phenomenal. But after they let you run the show for 20 years,
Starting point is 00:39:07 everything all the players that you released all the players from the tie laws the Willie McGuinnesses and all those guys the trading of the Richard Seymour the trading of the Logan Mankins all that the cutting of lawyer Malloy the trading of Drew Bledsoe
Starting point is 00:39:31 we get that because Tom we get all that you did all of that Mr. Crafts just patiently just stood by. He didn't talk. The only time Mr. Kraft really talked was, what, that Tuesday, that Monday, Super Bowl week, Coach, and out of the game. I don't, I, I, do you think there's a lot of pressure on Coach Belichick to win at a high level at UNC? based on his resume, based on what he's done in the past,
Starting point is 00:40:08 you're expecting what he was able to accomplish with the Patriots to happen at UNC. Obviously, if you understand the collegiate game, it doesn't happen that fast. Obviously, I think they'll be improving based on what they did last year going into this season now that they had Belichick. I think gradually they'll continue to get better. But like instant success like, oh, right? No, no, I see improvements gradually. I mean, Clemson is in that division.
Starting point is 00:40:38 I mean, in that conference, ACC, how good is Florida State going to be? I mean, listen, I say, I tell you one thing, the best football school in Tallahassee right now is Florida. FAM. It's FAMU. Hey, guys, it's AZ Fudd. You may know me as a gold medalist.

We just welcomed one of my favorite people and an incomparable soccer icon, Megan Rapino, to the show, and we had a blast. We talked about her recent 40th birthday celebrations, co-hosting a podcast with her fiancé Sue Bird, watching former teammates retire and more.
Starting point is 00:43:19 Never a dull moment with Pino. Take a listen. What do you miss the most about being a pro athlete? The final. The final. And the locker room. I really, really, like, you just can't replicate, you can't get back. showing up to locker room every morning just to shi-talk. We've got more incredible guests like the legendary Candace Parker
Starting point is 00:43:40 and college superstar AZ Fudd. I mean, seriously, y'all. The guest list is absolutely stacked for season two. And, you know, we're always going to keep you up to speed on all the news and happenings around the women's sports world as well. So make sure you listen to Good Game with Sarah Spain on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Starting point is 00:43:59 Presented by Capital One, founding partner of IHeart Women's Sports. I'm Jake Hofer, and this is Back 40, a limited series show on Wire to Hunt, part of Meat Eaters Podcast Network. Each episode, I'll be asking eight whitetail hunting pros, a focused, thought-provoking question about hunting and land management. How do I hunt the best part of the farm with less than ideal access? Should you? That's what the real question is. Stand without good access is not a good stand. Listen to Back40 on iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcast, or wherever you get your podcast. Lamar Jackson avoided serious injury after getting his foot stepped on during Wednesday's practice, according to John Harbaugh.
Starting point is 00:44:40 I told the guy's prayers don't get answered. I was praying. Oh, prayers do get answered. I was praying. Ocho, we're hearing a lot of franchise quarterback getting hitting practice lately. He got stepped on, right? So what? It was doing a fight or doing, he got pulled out from under the center?
Starting point is 00:45:01 He just got stepped on. None, none too crazy. He good, though. He good. Listen, Lamar ain't made a glass. He ain't made a glass. He's going to be all right. I saw a little post by Adam Schaefter,
Starting point is 00:45:16 and Schaefter made it a little bit more, made it seem a little bit more serious than it was. And Lamar is under the post laughing. Yeah. And when it comes to, injuries. The Ravens are one of those teams that don't leak anything. The players don't say nothing and the team don't say nothing.
Starting point is 00:45:41 So Adam Shepter had to go out on the limb based on what he may think it is and how serious he may think it is and Lamar just went under the Instagram post and just laughed it off, which lets you know ain't wrong with me. I'm good, man. But again, it is. Even not good. I'll be good in what? 10 days?
Starting point is 00:46:00 14. When they play? So I'll be good in 10, 14, so in two weeks. I'll be good. I don't got to be good right now. I'll be good in two weeks. But just the fact that football season is here, man. Golly, I can't wait. Yeah. Ocho, yesterday was a busy day for trades on our off day.
Starting point is 00:46:20 Chiefs traded wide receiver, Skymore, and a seventh round trick to the 49ers for a sixth round pick. Broncos traded Devon Vail to the Saints for a fourth and a seventh. The Vikings traded Harrison Phillips and a seventh to the Jets for two sixth rounders. The Browns traded D.T. Jouan Briggs and a seventh to the Jets for a six. Ocho, which trade will have the most immediate impact? Oh, immediate. I'm not, I'm not even sure, huh? I'm not sure if any of these players are going to actually be an immediate impact. If anything, Sky Moore's had opportunities with the chiefs to make an impact and make a change there.
Starting point is 00:47:05 Maybe if he can get his confidence back and get himself back into rhythm and being able to see and catch the ball, he can be an impact, you know, where he is in some way, shape, form of fashion. I would love for him to get back into a groove. It seems that he's lost his confidence a little bit. Happens sometimes, young player. Yeah. You have success. You catch, you know, big touchdown in the Super Bowl, team win.
Starting point is 00:47:36 Come back, struggle a little bit. You get injured. It's tough. Yeah. Tough. Um. Is it really? Devon Vili?
Starting point is 00:47:55 The Broncos traded him. I liked him. he was really good. It just goes to show you, I guess the same's really needed because he gave him a fourth. I tell you, he got some value, so they gave him a fourth? Yeah. And a seventh? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:48:10 I mean. Everybody else going for sixth and seventh round picks, and they got a fourth and a seventh. Damn. 49ers need this. DeMarcus Robinson's going to miss the first three games, had a situation of the Rose last offseason NFL stepped in like okay you're going to miss the first three games they need because what is i you juan jennings uh pierce pierce all rickissau so we we understand the saints uh olive shahid how shahed how shahed huh sheed is he okay yeah you good
Starting point is 00:48:58 My boy, fast as hell, what? Is that? I can't wait. Ocho, a woman loses 1.3 million lottery winnings after hiding it from her ex-husband. 11 days after winning, she reportedly filed for divorce without ever mentioning her sudden fortune. For two years, she believed she had pulled off until her husband found, her ex found out, when he allegedly took her to court. the judge didn't split the winnings, he cited a family code statute that punish his spouses who concealed property during a divorce. The verdict, she had to hand over 100% of the lottery
Starting point is 00:49:41 winnings to her ex-husband. That could have been a life-changing wealth that turned into a cautionary tale, deception in marriage and the law. Wait, she had to pay him the whole thing? The whole thing. Hey, you see what money do the people on? Yeah. You see what money do to the people? I think, look at this up. There's a guy in Wisconsin.
Starting point is 00:50:12 He won the lottery. I think he won like 200 and something million. He split it with his wife and said, I'm up out of here. He split it and left? I think he did. I think it was in Wisconsin. Guy gets divorced after winning. Hey, boy, that's, man, listen, man.
Starting point is 00:50:34 Money's a powerful thing, huh? Yeah. Money, listen. Bro, why would you, Ocho, you know, boy, they punish you. They will punish you married and you hide? Right. Marital possessions? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:50:51 They'll make you give it a whole thing up. Hey, ma'am. One thing about it, boy. everybody can go on that trip with you but they're not going to make it to the destination nah she had to get it all boy you know she was sick coach oh yeah absolutely absolutely
Starting point is 00:51:13 you know when it when it comes to money women you know a woman will do man you find it come on now greedy greedy but money money make you do some crazy things man lose friendship
Starting point is 00:51:34 lose family members the right the right amount a nice chunk one guy won the lottery after he got divorced he won 273 million oh chole what he got divorced and won 273 million
Starting point is 00:51:54 I'm going to play I just got married I'm going to play the lotto then I'm going to play the lotto and see what happens let me see if I get lucky see if me and my baby get lucky yeah
Starting point is 00:52:18 so that's what I'm going to do I'm going to play the lotto I'm a hit for about $500 million And then boom This is what I'm gonna do I'm gonna hit $500 million Then I'm gonna shoot you $100 million On the you know
Starting point is 00:52:33 The bro first of all Ocho You do realize you win 500 million You take it a lump sum Yeah I'm gonna take a lump sum And I'm gonna get like You probably like if you win 500 million You probably get like $180 million No I ain't no ain't
Starting point is 00:52:45 Out of five no I get about I get I get No Ocho you know Ocho You get that if you take it over No if you take it over 25 years if you take a lump sum I'll take a lump sum
Starting point is 00:52:57 you're not going to get that much Ocho yes it is $500 million You get about $180,000 million You are completely wrong It's not that much
Starting point is 00:53:11 Okay Yeah I'm going to buy 500 So I'm going to get two I'm going to shoot you You're not. Huh? Ocho.
Starting point is 00:53:26 Yeah. I ain't going to lie to you, Ocho. I win the lottery. It's going to be Ocho and somebody. Ocho and somebody nightcap. I'm just telling you, Ocho, I'm just saying. How are you going to leave me? Ocho, you told me I need to live my life.
Starting point is 00:53:43 You say, oh, you don't go nowhere, you'll do nothing. Oh, so you're going to wait until you win the lottery? Then you're going to leave me by myself? Oh, Cho, in the state of Florida, if you won the lottery, $500 million, you take a lump sum, you get $2.60. I told you. No state taxes. Well, listen.
Starting point is 00:54:10 Yeah. I'm going to shoot you $100 million. Now, don't shoot me that. You shoot me, shoot me a cool, shoot me a cool 10 to do me. Nah, no, no, no, you need to do nothing with that. Boom. Ocho, I'm going to tell what I'm going to do now, Ocho? What you're going to do?
Starting point is 00:54:26 Nightcap featuring Ocho and whoever else you want. As a matter of fact, hey, you're the new host of Club Shay-Shay. U-K out of here. U-Go. Oh, go. Oh, go. Hey, you know what? You won't leave.
Starting point is 00:54:52 because you like what you do. I do, Ocho. You do too much. But, Ocho, would that kind of money? Yeah, but, you're not, you're not, you, you, you don't do this for the money. You do this because you love it. You love it. I do.
Starting point is 00:55:07 I do. I tell you what, I work football season. But the minute the Super Bowl over, you're gone? I see y'all next football season. No, no, no, no. Because listen, when football season is over, that's when we get to do our other half of our show. Oh, no. Ain't another half of no show for shit? No, that bench is of Unc and Ocho.
Starting point is 00:55:25 Yeah, Ocho. Jet skiing, water, water skiing. I'm a seasonal worker, and the season will be over for Unk. Nah, man. You got to keep the money train going.
Starting point is 00:55:37 This is how we get. Hey, don't you know, be billionaires. I'm telling you. Huh? You can be billionaires. Man. That's how I start.
Starting point is 00:55:49 Oh, that's how I start? Yeah, you got to start somewhere. Okay. All right, it's time for our final segment of the evening. It's time for Q and A. Yeah. With my baby, baby, I know you watch. Here they got the lotto out there and all.
Starting point is 00:56:11 You're going to play a lotto. Hey, chat, I'm going to win the lotto, man. I'm going to win the lotto. All of us, all of us, everybody in the chat, we're going to be debt-free. We're going to fix this. I need to run for presidency. All right.
Starting point is 00:56:30 You're coming with it. I am Flesh 23, say, Club Ocho, live from Tutsis. Yeah, I like that. Kemprennoisse, Jr., said, Ocho, are you locked in on Abdul-Carter a winning defensive rookie of the year. Absolutely.
Starting point is 00:56:53 Absolutely. Listen, there's some other good players. Obviously, we know what Travis Hunter are going to do. We don't know how much he's going to be on the defensive side of the ball or offense. But Abdul Carter, and the impact he's going to have
Starting point is 00:57:06 as a rookie, based on what we've seen so far, he's definitely going to win it. He's definitely going to win it. Unless someone that we just have no clue or think is in the running to win it just comes out of nowhere. But I think Abdul Carter, obviously, Penn State.
Starting point is 00:57:23 You know how those boys get down. So I'm assuming he probably will win it. Jason Zilsdorf, DART is a bad man. DART is way better than Sanders. He had a better preseason. He got an opportunity to play more. He got more reps. You're just looking at college numbers.
Starting point is 00:57:44 When they got the same number of reps, it's hard to say that DART was better. But in the pros, he's gotten more reps with the ones. He's got more time. He's got an opportunity to play more. We'll see how it plays out. But Jason, Dart does look good. OG underscore Thanos, what's up, Uncle Ocho?
Starting point is 00:58:02 How soon will we see Jackson Dart starting, considering how good he's looked in the preseason? Over under eight weeks, Ocho. Over under eight weeks? Ooh, that's a good one. I think if things... Actually, let's go nine weeks because it's 18 weeks in the season. Right.
Starting point is 00:58:24 So we go right down the middle. Over under nine. I really honestly, I honestly, I don't think it's going to happen. I honestly don't think I think Russell Wilson is going to go on a run. He's going to go on a run of consistency, not turning the ball over, taking what the defense gives him, and running a safe a safe offense
Starting point is 00:58:50 and a few balls so you're going you're taking the over yeah yeah yeah y'all you
Starting point is 00:59:02 you're counting the preacher boy out man I'll go under I'll say under man listen God is on Russell aside Jackson Darden
Starting point is 00:59:17 feel this year Paul the truth believer said Ocho Shador said child please they can kiss the baby with all that crazy talk One die hard eagle fan Shout out to the nightcap Thank you one diehard eagle fan
