Ocho, check this out. Shaq's ex-wife, Shawnee, says she's not sure she ever loved him. Shawnee Henderson questioned her love for him in a memoir. In a memoir, Undefeated,
Starting point is 00:03:02 Changing the Rules, and Winning on My Own Term, she wrote, looking back, I don't know if I ever really loved him. I was really in love with the man over the course of their relationship, which began in the late 90s and ultimately ended in 2009 when she filed for separation. The couple struggled with infidelity,
Starting point is 00:03:18 which Shaq admitted in his 2011 memoir. Shaq posted a cryptic message on social media the next day. Shawnee wrote, Shaq wrote, I understand message on social media the next day. Shaq wrote, I understand. I wouldn't have been in love with me either. Wishing you all the best. All love, Shaq. Caption the post. Trust me, I get it.
Starting point is 00:03:34 That hurts, man. That hurts. That hurts. I mean, oh, man. Just to hear something like that. Obviously, Shani is a friend of mine. Shaq is a friend of mine. I would have loved to see those two work it out. I think of power couples, people doing their own thing
Starting point is 00:03:57 and they respect the crafts and being successful at it. Obviously, things didn't work out. They parted ways. That's tough, though. I think many of athletes at times are in situations or they're with women at times and the infidelity and the issues and the problems, it overshadows the glitz and glamor. And I think at one point, the glitz and glamour. And I think at one point,
Starting point is 00:04:24 maybe she did love Shaq. But all the other issues that came with being with a person or player of his caliber, I think it overshadowed that. And at some point, at some point, the love went away.
Starting point is 00:04:36 What do you think? Or am I wrong? You're missing the point of what she said. She said, there's one, you can love someone, but not be in love.
Starting point is 00:04:47 Whoa, whoa, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. Stay right there. Stay right there. Stay right there, because I got to use this. I got to use this. I got to use this next time. And I think,
Starting point is 00:04:56 I think our chat could attempt. I just, I don't get why she would say that. Wait, stay with me now. You can't, you don't give me no good shit trying to go away now. Uh-huh. You can't, don't give me no good shit trying to go away now. You can love someone,
Starting point is 00:05:08 but not be in love. Stay right there. There's a difference between the two. And what she's saying, I loved him, but I don't know if I was ever really in love. I want to make sure,
Starting point is 00:05:20 I want to dot my I's and I want to cross my T's in my own goddamn household. So while we're on this topic. Okay. Let me holler at you real quick. Now you know baby nothing. This is important because I don't want to waste no time.
Starting point is 00:05:36 Now do you do you love me? Wait. Give me the question the right way. Do you love Ocho or are you in love with Ocho? I am in love with you and I love you. Okay.
Starting point is 00:05:52 Are you sure? Maybe. How do I make sure? How do I know if... Time? Only time. There's no guarantee. There's no way
Starting point is 00:06:01 because I'm sure Shaq thought she was in love with him. Now, she said she doesn't know if she really were. But I just don't get, I don't get, because here's the thing. Let's just say for the only reason some, do you believe, and I know she's remarried and she's happy. I think she's married to a pastor. Now, let me ask you this, Ocho. How many pastor's wives are writing memoirs
Starting point is 00:06:26 that people are reading? I would think that would be against a good book. They're going to read this book because she was married to Shaq. She became a household name because she was married to Shaq. For the longest time, she kept that O'Neal name.
Starting point is 00:06:43 And I got no problem with it. Like I said, I don't know Johnny. I'm not here to bash Johnny. But my thing is, I don't get why you needed to say that. Why you felt you needed to say that. If you're writing a book, if you're writing a memoir, the point of the memoir is to be able to share your thoughts, your feelings, some of the things that people didn't know,
Starting point is 00:07:03 the ups and downs in your life, especially your marriage, during and after. I think it can help with other women that might be in similar situations that might not feel, that might feel the same way. They're stuck in a situation
Starting point is 00:07:21 because of the lifestyle that they're provided and afforded to where they're really not in love. But they're there because of you know what? And I think now that she's free, she can be free to speak on, you know what? Damn, I was with this individual all this time and I don't even think I was really in love. But I was blinded by the opportunities that presented itself. Or am I wrong? I could be wrong.
Starting point is 00:07:52 You were blinded by $700 million. That money was stacked so high you couldn't see straight. Ocho, I'm going to give you something. Wait, wait, wait. Let me give you a pen. Let me give you a pen and a pad. Because I know you're going to give you something and you take this with you. Let me give him a pen and a pad. I know you're going to give me some good shit.
Starting point is 00:08:11 For me, if it's someone I cared about, someone that I'm close with, I believe it is okay to lie to a person if you'll say them great harm or embarrassment.
Starting point is 00:08:28 Oh, no. Don't do that. How do you think that... Let me ask you a question. How do you think that makes Shaq feel? After all... Yes.
Starting point is 00:08:39 Knowing Shaq... You know how... You know. Let's just say 10 years from now and I hope you and Rell you and y'all married for 75 years if Rell
Starting point is 00:08:52 comes out and writes a book I loved Ocho but I'm not sure I was in love with Ocho that would crush you that would crush you you know so That would crush you. You think so? That would crush you. You know so.
Starting point is 00:09:11 Think about what you've done for real that you haven't done for any other woman. Oh, boy. Now you preaching. You done made me stand up. Come on now. Hey. I know. Boy.
Starting point is 00:09:23 Hey. And see, you have more expectations for real Than you have any other woman That you've ever dealt with Expectations The greater the expectation The greater the hurt That comes along with
Starting point is 00:09:37 That's why I always When it doesn't work out Why you think I always told you What I've always been good at Oh, excuse me, excuse me Love that woman to death. What did I tell you, though? We've been in the game a very long time. There's something very important that we all need to do and learn to do is being able to manage our expectations.
Starting point is 00:10:03 You can't manage your expectations when you're in love with someone. Because you can't be in love with someone if you're managing your expectations. Because you have to be willing, you have to see, here's the thing, Ocho, in order to be in love, you have to be vulnerable. And see, there's a different, there's two different, you can be vulnerable and not be weak. You can be weak, but not be vulnerable. But see, what love requires that you become vulnerable, that you're willing to open yourself up, you're willing to fall, and know
Starting point is 00:10:32 that rail will catch you. Hold on now. Come here. We got to do the test now. Hold on. Hold on. See, sometimes this is how you know you got your good partner. Hold on. See, sometimes, sometimes,
Starting point is 00:10:45 this is how you know you got your good partner. What if I jump out the way? Nah, nah, don't do that. Stay right there. Ralph is just going to let me know if we're going to last. He's just going to let me know
Starting point is 00:10:58 if we're going to last. If I can trust him. You know, if she gets me. Because sometimes, you only as strong as your supporting cast you know that right you know sometimes in life you only is as strong as your foundation huh okay yeah okay okay okay okay you see she got she got me. Yes.
Starting point is 00:11:25 Yes. Because the thing is, sometimes people confuse the two, Ocho, because a person can be vulnerable and not be weak. You got to be careful though. You got to be careful. Because in today's era, today's society,
Starting point is 00:11:41 vulnerability to women is seen as weakness. Depending on who you're with. So you got to be careful. That's how you have to be vulnerable. That's why you have to be careful who you're vulnerable with. But again, once you open up your vulnerabilities, there's an expectation level. And when that expectation level is not
Starting point is 00:12:05 met, therein lies the hurt. Therein lies the pain. And so look, Shawnee can write whatever she wants. Like I said, I've never met Shawnee. I don't know her. I don't trash people. But I just,
Starting point is 00:12:24 all things being said, I wish she hadn't said people. But I just, all things being said, I wish he hadn't said that. I do. Because you do realize, you do realize that's the father of your kids. You just told your kids, I'm not so sure I was ever in love with your father. But is it okay?
Starting point is 00:12:42 Is it, at this point in life, do you continue to hide the fact how you truly felt? Or at what point do you come out and say, this is how I really feel? Especially if you're writing a memoir. And it's a memoir, I'm assuming that can also help other women
Starting point is 00:13:01 that are in similar situations that don't know what to do. So similar situation, you with a guy worth three quarters of a billion dollars, and he gave you everything, and you still living off that? That's what you want to help him do? Look, my thing is, Ocho, for
Starting point is 00:13:18 me, what's the old adage? Love hurts. Uh-huh. Love hurts. what's the old adage love hurts uh-huh love hurts and the longer and the more the greater the expectations the more it hurts you see the thing is with this is that breaking up is easy if you're the one that wants to do the breaking up normally they're very very, I don't know. Like I said, I can only speak for myself and people that I've been around, but anybody that I've ever been close around that didn't want to break up,
Starting point is 00:13:53 it wasn't easy, man, Sean, what I need to do. How can I get her back? Shannon, what can I do to get him back? Because that's not what they wanted. Now those same people, I've seen those same people walk away from a relationship like it's nothing because they're the one that's doing what they wanted. Now, those same people, I've seen those same people walk away from a relationship like it's nothing because they're the one that's doing the breaking up.
Starting point is 00:14:12 Breaking up is easier than being broken up with. And so that's why you have to be mindful when there are kids involved of what you say and how you treat said partner. Right. Because the kids are watching.
Starting point is 00:14:28 So you got me tearing up listening to you. Shit. So when you hear kids talk a certain way, what do you think they learned that from? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:14:39 Yeah. Remember, remember, no matter who you, Ocho, no matter who you, Ocho, no matter who you are, you're dating that person's past traumas,
Starting point is 00:14:51 childhood, the relationship they had with their mom, with their dad, their previous relationships. That's what you're dating. And you know what? So that means,
Starting point is 00:15:02 obviously, if the person hasn't had counseling or therapy, then those past traumas could affect the relationship that they're in now. And it just carries over like a math problem. If you're not careful, Ocho, you'll bleed on the person that didn't even cut you. Hey, God damn, that was
Starting point is 00:15:26 a good one. What? Shit. Hold on. Red, get out the background. Go to bed. I'm talking to Ocho. Hold on, hold on, hold on. What was that again? I'm saying, yeah, if you don't go to therapy, if you're not healed, you'll bleed on the person that didn't even cut you
Starting point is 00:15:46 oh I'm gonna be able to use it it's tough but I wish look I just I wish like I said I know Shaq a little bit I've met him a couple times great guy funny what you see he's a big funny big giant kid he's a
Starting point is 00:16:04 he's a 7 foot 1, big, giant kid. He's a 7'1", 15-year-old. That's his personality. He wants everybody to have a great time. He's generous beyond generous. I just, you know, I just, in this situation, like I said, I mean, he's a
Starting point is 00:16:19 big boy. He's a grown-ass man. But, yeah, I don't care how big you are. I don't care how old you are. You have feelings. You have feelings. Tonight, someone learned a video that does not stop playing when you connect, disconnect from Bluetooth. During a Luca Press game, a reporter
Starting point is 00:16:38 went out to pull his phone to record and accidentally hit an open video of a porn and it blared for all to hear. Let's take a listen, Ocho. We were open shot, so just our sharing the ball and our energy was great. What do you think?
Starting point is 00:16:55 Okay. Okay, moving on. That's why I don't open up Twitter in public. I don't open up Twitter in public. I don't open up Twitter in public because there ain't no telling what's going... Uh-uh. I ain't got no kind of place on my Twitter. Listen, I follow black Twitter,
Starting point is 00:17:21 white Twitter, Mexican Twitter, rap Twitter. I follow so many. I follow 7,000 people because it makes the timeline enjoyable because I'm hitting on, I'm seeing all type of different topics. But just sometimes, sometimes in public. And I told you on one of the shows, maybe it might have been last year, I was in public and I opened Twitter
Starting point is 00:17:45 to scroll. I might have been at the grocery store and I had my sound up loud by accident. And Lord behold, I scroll right onto one of the pages with two people doing horizontal activity
Starting point is 00:18:01 and it was loud. And every time something like that happens and you try to scroll out of something fast, scroll out of something fast, why you always miss? Why you always miss the tab to close it out? Man, I bet I follow, because you heard my thing,
Starting point is 00:18:19 but I probably be a, man, shout out to Sean, follow this porn site. Shout out to Sean, follow this. Oh, man, let me go ahead and raise this thing, man. Yeah. Y'all put my business all out there in the street. You can't like nothing. They go
Starting point is 00:18:30 through your likes. They go through your book. Nah, I don't do that. Yes. I don't do that. Yes! I was like, man, I can't get no level of privacy. Nah, but it is. Did that person get fined? Was that tonight? Yeah, that's...
Starting point is 00:18:46 Ooh. Oh, I know. You think they got in trouble? Yeah, they got in trouble. I wonder who was one of the players playing around. There ain't no player playing around. That's...
Starting point is 00:18:58 No, that's... You know what? Man. I guarantee it's one of the players. What if he married? I guarantee it's one of the players I guarantee it's one of the players playing around did that on purpose what if he married
Starting point is 00:19:11 ugh see I'm telling you I guarantee you that's one of the players did that on purpose I bet I guarantee you when it comes out nah if that was the case why he say okay moving on he had no idea how would the how would the sound think about it how would the sound if you're a reporter in the room how would the sound be that clear yeah because because you place a record you try because they calm down How would the sound be that clear? Yeah. Because you place a record.
Starting point is 00:19:49 Because they calm down. You ask a question because they want to hear the question that's being asked. And they want to hear the answer. Hey, that's funny. That is funny. That was funny. Man. Bad. Man, I mean, you sure got me tearing up on that damn.
Starting point is 00:20:10 That was a good segment. You were using hip preaching, man. Got me all emotional. Wake up with football every morning and listen to my new podcast, NFL Daily with Greg Rosenthal. That's Patrick Claiborne, Steve Weiss, Nick Schuch, Jordan Rod Rodrigue from The Athletic, and of course, Colleen Wolfe. This is their window right now. This is their Super Bowl window.
Starting point is 00:20:50 Why would they trade him away? Because he would be a pivotal part of them winning that Super Bowl. I don't know why, Colleen. Catch the podcast, the NFL Daily with Greg Rosenthal every day. Subscribe today and you'll immediately be smarter and funnier than your friends. And who doesn't want that? From game plan analysis and player interviews, we've got you covered for all things football. Hey, you want to know the secret ingredient that makes Patrick Mahomes unstoppable? Starting point is 00:22:05 podcasts. Hey, it's Jake Halpern. We have a new limited series of my podcast Deep Cover out now, all about George Santos, the Republican congressman from New York who told a lot of stories about his life and his credentials, many of which, turns out, were not true. many of which, turns out, were not true. It's like, you know, Mr. Ripley meets Catch Me If You Can. I mean, the guy hoodwinked everyone. He was very ambiguous and sketchy, quite honestly, about what the company did and how it made so much money overnight.
Starting point is 00:22:42 What prosecutors allege in the indictment is that most of that $12,000 goes directly to Santos' personal bank account. I would go down these rabbit holes and start thinking about, like, what is the nature of truth? You know, like, what can I actually, like, tell the reader is real about this guy's story? My phone is literally blowing up inquiries about saying, is George going to jail? What's going on? And I'm like, why are you doing this? Like, why?
Starting point is 00:23:10 Listen to Deep Cover George Santos on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you listen to podcasts. Man. Hey, check this out, Ocho. A car dealer tried to finesse NFL safety Jair. Yeah, man. You saw that?
Starting point is 00:23:35 For $230,000 for a Cybertruck. Let's take a look at the video, Ocho. Good. How you doing? I'm all good. All good? Yeah, Jair Brown, man. Jair Brown? Sorry, let me introduce myself.
Starting point is 00:23:44 Oh, okay. Okay. Play for the 49ers. Oh, you do? Yeah'm all good. All good? Yeah, J.R. Brown, man. J.R. Brown? Sorry, I didn't introduce myself. Oh, OK. OK. Played for the 49ers. Oh, you do? Yeah. That's cool. My dog Ricky sent me over here to say
Starting point is 00:23:50 that I got some Cybertrucks in. We do, yeah. I got it pulling up for you right here. How was it, bro? Man, look. Come get you a Cybertruck, man. Let's go. Come get you a Cybertruck, man.
Starting point is 00:24:01 I'm telling you, you talking speed, it's spacious. You talking every kind of camera angle possible. Like, you want to talk numbers? Yeah, let's talk numbers. Let's go. Let's talk numbers. You want to pay cash for the thing, or you want to? I wouldn't feel good if you gave me to pay cash for it.
Starting point is 00:24:17 I ain't got it all on me right now. What do you have? Can do like. Cash wise? Yeah, cash wise. So the truck, the truck's 230. Give me the car. He says not in the cars right the trucks to 30 who's that guy that's my life a that's your face most so what do you take what what do you say he's saying is not in the cars right now it's on the cars right now for not even for
Starting point is 00:24:38 two oh okay okay so so we're not buying it no okay okay all right no problem Nope. He said, nine cars, we ain't gonna risk nine. Okay. So, so we're not buying it? No, we ain't gonna buy it. Okay. All right, no problem. All right.
Starting point is 00:24:50 No problem, bro. I appreciate you coming in. Yes, sir. All right. Always, bro. All right. Always. Thanks, man.
Starting point is 00:24:54 I appreciate it. Always. God, come into my God, man. I don't know who he called. I don't know who he called, but I want to thank that person to make sure that he didn't make that purchase for that vehicle
Starting point is 00:25:05 that was marked up times way too much. The base model price listen. Yeah, I think what do they list for? 85? They list for like 82 and it can go up to like they normally probably go what you charge. Hold on. 10, 20% over? The base
Starting point is 00:25:21 the base model price for one that you would give for your son you know if, if your son is a freshman in college, is $60,000. Yes. The one above that is $79,000. The Beast, I think it's called the Beast, the top model is $97,000. None of the three Cybertrucks that you have at your availability is over 100 grand. Now, the problem is there's a waiting list at Tesla.
Starting point is 00:25:50 That's the issue. So there are other car dealerships that have them and what they're doing is they're just marking the truck up because of supply and demand and understanding that there are people that have the money
Starting point is 00:26:02 and they will spend it just to say, hey, look, I got a Cybertruck before everybody else just to say I got one and they're willing to pay a $100,000 markup or whatever it may be.
Starting point is 00:26:14 But hey, to each his own. To each his own. I'm going to tell you what my grandma used to tell me. A fool and his money sell shoon part ways. God damn. fool and his money sell Shun part ways. Goddamn, 230,000 for a $60,000 truck.
Starting point is 00:26:33 Stop playing with me, man. Stop playing. Elon Musk, I know you're going to see this. Send your boy a Cybertruck. Send your boy a Cybertruck. Please. Please, I'll promote it. I'll put a Cybertruck as my
Starting point is 00:26:50 avi on X. Yeah. Yeah, for a Cybertruck? Yeah. I'm not going to buy it. I'll rent one. I'm not going to buy it, man. I had real looking to it when it first came out. You heard what she said?
Starting point is 00:27:07 She saw the price about it. I lost my damn mind. And see, that's what I like. That's what I like. All of it. Because I have somebody, right? I'm already financially conscious. Yes.
Starting point is 00:27:17 Or I was already that way. Then I have someone else that is the exact same way as me that has an understanding. Like, you know what? We're going to sit down. We're going to sit down for a month. We might sit down for two an understanding. Like, you know what? We're going to sit down. We're going to sit down for a month. We might sit down for two months.
Starting point is 00:27:28 And then, you know what? One month, we might say, you know what? We're going to turn up and act like we grew up with the royal family. And that is such a great effing feeling
Starting point is 00:27:40 when you're on the same page as opposed to, you know, it could be the other way around. it could be the other way around. It could be the other way around. Marlon Wayans is sharing a surprising reason why he never walked down the aisle. The 51-year-old actor and comedian told the New York Times that he's worried about a potential wife would make his mother feel slighted. I never got married because I never wanted my mother
Starting point is 00:28:05 to be jealous of a woman. I never wanted my mother to feel second to any woman. William's mother, her death in 2020 at the age of 81 hit him hard and made him realize
Starting point is 00:28:14 she was his whole world. My mother's death broke me. It shattered me into a million pieces because that was my girl. That's a good one. Yeah, we just, a few shows ago, we just, remember?
Starting point is 00:28:23 We just talked about that. The girlfriend and the mother one. Yeah, we just, a few shows ago, we just, remember, we just talked about that. The girlfriend and the mother arguing. Yeah. And I think no mother will ever see a woman as being good enough for her son. Good enough for her son. That's just the nature of it in general, no matter who it is. And so I kind of understand where Marlon is coming from. Rail has had small... Wait, you had an issue with mommy?
Starting point is 00:28:50 No, not really? No, no, Rail didn't have any issue. Oh, yeah, she cussed Rail out on her birthday. On my birthday, yeah. Oh, yeah, yeah. Everybody got it. My kids got it. We have a saying here in Miami.
Starting point is 00:29:05 You're not really a friend of mine or you haven't been around me long enough if you haven't been cursed out by my mama. If she ain't never got you, nah, you ain't really my friend. I don't really know you like that because everybody has got it from the pastors to my coaches
Starting point is 00:29:19 to those I've dated in the past, to those I have kids from. My kids got it. It's to the point where my kids, it was so funny. Yeah, for real? Hey, it was so funny that that was the saying and the feeling.
Starting point is 00:29:35 Hey, matter of fact, you know, I still have all her text messages. You probably can't see it, huh? I can't see it. But that's great. This is before she passed away. These are all messages of her cussing me out.
Starting point is 00:29:52 You see, I'm still scrolling, right? Wow. No, you're laughing. This is all her cursing me out. Come to the mic. I got all her messages with her cursing me out before she passed away.
Starting point is 00:30:04 So what happened is when she cursed me out, I don't text back because if I text back, it gets her riled up even more. And so, listen, I never forget, man, never being able to say goodbye
Starting point is 00:30:17 to my mama. And her passing away, cursing me out, was so perfect and so on brand for who she was. It just made sense. Right.
Starting point is 00:30:31 Ocho, there's something I want to address. It just came, brought to my attention. Is that... Ocho, everyone's family. Okay. Shaq, about the comments that I said last night. Shaq said, you took me sticking up for Shay as jealousy of Joker shows how smart you are and how you say anything to get clicks.
Starting point is 00:30:51 That's not what I did. But anyway, so here's the clickbait for you. If I ain't ranked in the top 10 in your profession, then you can't speak. Don't forget, I know what you did to get where you're at. Me jealous sounds like you're jealous. I know you're trying to stay relevant by gossiping on your podcast. We don't believe you. You need more people in case you forgot.
Starting point is 00:31:11 Four rings, three finals MVPs, top 50, top 75. And to be quite frank, all this success you got still under me. You don't know my work ethic, but according, I work less, but not blah, blah, blah. But anyway, love you you too if you need help making money it's better ways than gossiping I'm too old for this ish love always the most dominating big man ever never took it serious
Starting point is 00:31:34 remember I know you and you know words of Skip better so I'm better than you hashtag G14 classification I have it you don't not in my profession wait when that happened? He just, about 10 minutes ago. Wait, Shaq in the chat?
Starting point is 00:31:51 I've never. No, he on IG. I've never professed. I've never professed that I was his greatest Shaq. Yes, sir. But what I will say, I got what I got. Yes, sir. But what I will say, I got what I got
Starting point is 00:32:07 because I worked my ass off. Now, Shaq has been the one to say that he didn't work as hard, he didn't train as hard, he didn't eat as well as he should have. Shaq is the one that anytime someone wins an MVP, he talks about how he should have been the MVP
Starting point is 00:32:23 over Steve Nash. Now, you guys have heard me speak glowingly. I say Travis Kelsey is better tied than I was. So was Gronk. So was my guy. What's his name? It was for the Chargers. Antonio Gates. Antonio Gates,
Starting point is 00:32:39 Gonzo, Big Winslow. I'm cool. I got no problem. You know why I got no problem with Ocho, with giving people credit? Because I got everything out of my God-given ability. God gave me the ability to do what I could do. But he gave me discipline. He gave me dedication. The way I trained, the way I ate, the way I slept.
Starting point is 00:32:57 So this was all I could get. Now, I would have felt some type of way if I'd have got these numbers and I have asked it, but I never have asked it every. I mean, Kobe said Shaq should have won and they should have won, but he took, but my thing is,
Starting point is 00:33:15 is that you can't, and it's a greatest characters. It's Shaq. I'm the greatest character. No. Am I a top 100 player? No. Am I the equivalent as a football player as Shaq was as a basketball player? No.
Starting point is 00:33:29 But what I did do is that I maximized that. And my question, if Shaq and. Yeah, because it's rough on the back. My question is, do you believe. That you gave everything you possibly could in basketball did you train the way you should have did you eat the way you should have did you that just goes to show you how great you was is that you didn't you allowed your weight to get out of control the injury started to creep up and you got four rings and you got three finals mvp see i'm mad man i wish i understood i wish i because I wish I understood. I wish I... Because I wish I understood
Starting point is 00:34:05 goddamn basketball. So when you talking about Shaq, especially during that time, think about this. If I don't know basketball now the way I should, the way you do, like what you telling me right now,
Starting point is 00:34:18 it's like I'm trying to process this shit, but I can't because I wasn't watching back then. He's the... Fuck, man. Think about it, Ocho. He's the most... process and shit. But I can't because I wasn't watching back then. Fuck, man. Think about it, Ocho. He's the most dominant big man in the history of the game. And he got one MVP. Ah, but think about this. Think about how they just, I'm not going to say Rob.
Starting point is 00:34:38 I don't want to use the word Rob. Think about how they took, they robbed Shea. 30 points. Number one seed, but he doesn't get it. So what's the criteria for MVP
Starting point is 00:34:55 if you just gave it to Joker again? But I don't think they gave it because Joker was top 10 in points, top 10 in rebounds, top 10 on assists, and they basically had the same record. They just had a better division record. So you're talking about – so it's not like Shea –
Starting point is 00:35:12 they were the number one seed and Joker was number 10. Okay, okay, okay. I see what you're saying. Shaq, if you took what I said as a slight, okay, I can get it. And people say, well, with – see, my thing is, is that I'm not saying that I would... I've never said I was the quitter. And I'm quick to say that when I talk about Kevin Durant or I talk about any player.
Starting point is 00:35:32 I said, I'm not the equivalent basketball player, but all I can do is maximize my ability. Shaq no deep down. He can take all the shots. Yeah, you got more money. Yeah, you're more famous than me. Yeah, you're more well-known. You're going to have way more money than I ever have.
Starting point is 00:35:50 But nobody will ever say that I was lazy or I cheated myself. That's all I got for you, big boy. I ain't got nothing else for you. I ain't here to argue with you. I'm not here to debate with you. It is what it is. I can't do any more on the football field. You can't do any more on the basketball court.
Starting point is 00:36:10 Yes, you were great. Yes, you were great. But you know deep down you should be in the top five, not top ten, because you just said who else was the most dominant. You said you were the most dominant.. You said you were the most dominant. Most people agree you were the most dominant. Here we go again. Yes.
Starting point is 00:36:30 With my lack of basketball fucking knowledge. If Shaq was the most dominant to ever play at his position, right, the five, the center, how is he not in the goddamn top five? Ask him. Ask the people that say is Shaq in their top five but I'm assuming people okay
Starting point is 00:36:49 I need to take a fucking course or something if he's top five if he's the best big man of all time then he has to be in everyone's top five you got Jordan you got Kobe LeBron I'm assuming I don't know how the You got Kobe. LeBron.
Starting point is 00:37:07 I'm assuming. I don't know how the ranking goes. See, what I've done, I've told people my criteria for the top five. I say for me, for you to be in the top five, you have to have at least, you have to have more than one regular season MVP. That's my criteria. Now, some people say, well, Shannon, as long as you got this or as long as you got that. That's my criteria. Now, some people say, well, Shannon,
Starting point is 00:37:27 as long as you got this or as long as you got that, that's their criteria. Like you said, what is the criteria for the MVP? Wait, I have a question. Why does the individual award matter to be included in the top five or something in general if you just if you
Starting point is 00:37:46 were the he was the most dominant at that position why does the mvp matter you're the most you got most dominant you got you're the most dominant and you only won one mvp so how dominant were you i believe he's the most dominant i do because i watched him play now i didn't see will i don't know i'm not finna say I didn't see Wilt I just saw just see Wilt's numbers but for the guy and I started following basketball back in the late 70s so as far as dominant
Starting point is 00:38:13 Shaq was it Shaq was it Shaq is the most dominant player which means he should have more than one regular season MVP so when he was playing and he was dominant during these years who the hell was winning the damn MVPs? Jordans. LeBron won some MVPs.
Starting point is 00:38:34 Shaq came in in 92. So Jordan, Karl Malone, Karl Barkley. Hey, Barkley won MVP. Akeem Olajuwon, David Robinson, Tim Duncan, Steve Nash. Barkley won MVP, huh? Yeah. Hey, when I look at Charles. Hey, when I look at Charles.
Starting point is 00:38:56 People, see, people, see. No, no, no. See, people, people laughing at Charles and all that. No. Charles was. What? Hey, what Charles was? He was the foe?
Starting point is 00:39:05 He was the foe? But he looked undersized, though. He looked short. Very undersized. Yes. That's crazy. Yes. Yes.
Starting point is 00:39:15 I can't see. I can't see Chuck outside of TNT. I can't see him outside of golf. The picture of him dominating on the basketball court. Exactly. No. No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. Okay, okay. He was the basketball court. Exactly. No. No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. He was the real deal.
Starting point is 00:39:29 He was the real deal. Hey, man. But I put it like this here. If Shaq, if Shaq, let's just say Shaq came in at 92 and he stayed at 325. Wake up with football every morning and listen to my new podcast,

Starting point is 00:41:30 Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Hey, it's Jake Halpern. We have a new limited series of my podcast Deep Cover out now, all about George Santos, the Republican congressman from New York who told a lot of stories about his life and his credentials, many of which, turns out, were not true. It's like, you know, Mr. Ripley meets Catch Me If You Can. I mean, the guy hoodwinked everyone.
Starting point is 00:41:58 He was very ambiguous and sketchy, quite honestly, about what the company did and how it made so much money overnight. What prosecutors allege in the indictment is that most of that $12,000 goes directly to Santos' personal bank account. I would go down these rabbit holes and start thinking about, like, what is the nature of truth? What can I actually tell the reader is real about this guy's story? My phone is literally blowing up inquiries about saying, is George going to jail? What's going on? And I'm like, why are you doing this? Like, why?
Starting point is 00:42:38 Listen to Deep Cover George Santos on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you listen to podcasts. Ain't no way he doesn't have four or five MVP. There's no way he doesn't have four. He doesn't have five, six. When he was in Orlando, you say he was 325? When he came out, he was 7' you say he was 325 when he came out he said he was 325 that's a big human boy god
Starting point is 00:43:12 yeah and that's why I say we're never going to see a Shaquille O'Neal again people talk about we're not going to see a Jordan we're not going to see a LeBron we're not going to see a Kobe we're never going to see a Jordan. We're not going to see a LeBron. We're not going to see a Kobe. We're never going to see a guy his size. Hey, you know the little clip?
Starting point is 00:43:29 Remember the little clip with him and Jordan playing around at the All-Star game? And he hit the, hey, buddy footwork, boy. Shaq footwork. We're like that, boy. Do you remember? They used to have a show on. I forget the name of the show where Shaq would like, he would go play flag football.
Starting point is 00:43:47 Oh, yeah, I remember that. Did you watch Shaq? You see Shaq run? I remember the episode. Nobody had that size. You're never going to see a guy that size with that kind of athleticism.
Starting point is 00:44:05 You're not. But, okay, this is my opinion. I believe, has Shaq taken it as serious as Kobe, as serious as Jordan, as serious as LeBron? With what he knows and the access
Starting point is 00:44:21 that he had. So, because as you get to that level, you have access to the best trainers, you have the access to the best nutritionists, the best chefs. Right. That's just my personal opinion. Hey, man, y'all,
Starting point is 00:44:33 you know what? I ain't over here. We ain't got no beef with Shaq. We ain't got no beef with Shaq because I don't want to have to jump on him. You know? Now, you laughing. I love Shaq. Now, I told you, we ain't doing no more beefs. We ain't doing no beef with Shaq because I don't want to have to jump on him. You know? Now, you're laughing. I love Shaq.
Starting point is 00:44:46 Now, I told you, we ain't doing no more beefs. We ain't doing no more beefs. Yeah, I know. I ain't got no beef with nobody. But what we can do is we can have a healthy dialogue based on how we feel about, you know, individuals and their respective crafts. And that's it. Sometimes they might take offense to it.
Starting point is 00:45:04 Shaq, we love you. Shaq, you know I love you. You know how I feel about you. You're my dog. And there were no issues. There were no problems. We were just talking about a subject matter in which I don't know much about. And that's it. But here's the thing. If Shaq, but see
Starting point is 00:45:20 Shaq is looking at what I'm saying in a vacuum because Shaq is the most dominant and they've never bestowed that title on another five other than Will. So Jokic is not more dominant, but he has more regular season MVPs.
Starting point is 00:45:36 Guys are not more dominant, but he has... That's what I'm saying. I believe, me personally, and Shaq, y'all can disagree or disagree. But Shaq said he didn't take practice here. He said, I was going to get beat up in the game. So why was I going to get beat up in practice?
Starting point is 00:45:56 You can't think... Ocho, well, I'm going to run it. Ocho, think about this. Think about what he said. Now, he said he didn't go hard in practice because he didn't want to get beat up in practice because he was going to get beat up in the game. What if you said, you know what? I didn't run no routes full speed in practice because
Starting point is 00:46:09 I was going to run them full speed in the game. Dang. He said on numerous occasions he wished he had taken it more. He had trained harder and kept his weight under control. But I guess me pointing that out, what he said,
Starting point is 00:46:26 I guess he, you know, I'm where I am. Cause you know, Ocho, you know, I was able to walk away from the game and never, ever look back because I got everything I could out of this seventh round
Starting point is 00:46:41 draft selection out of this body. Nobody will ever say, if people have more talent than Shannon, God gave them that. But you ain't going to find nobody to say they outworked it. And that's all I had. So 8-15, 10,060, 62 touchdowns, eight Pro Bowls, fourth first team All-Pros,
Starting point is 00:47:03 five total, three Super Bowls. That's all I got, don't you? That's all I could get out of what God gave me. I couldn't get anything. I like it. And by my podcast,
Starting point is 00:47:16 my podcast is what it is. Right. Some people like it, some people don't. Yeah. More people like it than don't. The numbers speak for itself. So,
Starting point is 00:47:24 I wish you the best on your podcast and your platform, but I ain't got nothing. I ain't... Nah, nah, nah. We ain't going to do that. But what we can do is we have a Nightcap versus TNT Royal Rumble. Like, if them boys want smoke, we can get it on. Huh?
Starting point is 00:47:43 Like, listen, you get Shaq. I hit Kenny. I hit hit Kenny I push Kenny over and me and Chuck we can go toe to toe to Nightcap versus TNT I'm ready it don't make me none and we can be friends right after and go eat
Starting point is 00:47:59 look it is what it look man it is what it is I mean look and here's the thing we're all wired like this we really are we really are somebody can say a thousand times
Starting point is 00:48:18 Shannon's great but it's the one time that they say I'm not is that you fixate on how many times have I lauded Shaq great. But it's the one time that they say I'm not, is that you fixate on. How many times have I lauded Shaq? But it's the one time what he fixate on. And that's okay.
Starting point is 00:48:33 That's okay. Listen, we all love each other. Shaq, we love you, baby. Yeah. I ain't got no beef with Shaq. I ain't never had no beef with Shaq. Listen, you vegan anyway. You don't eat beef. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. But to each Shaq, I wish you nothing but the best, bro.
Starting point is 00:48:52 Hey, continued success. Keep doing your thing on TNT. Keep doing your thing on the podcast. Hey, I ain't got no beef with you, bro. That was just my opinion. We were talking about it last night because of what you said. Stick up for Shay, whomever. Shaq.
Starting point is 00:49:10 Whomever. That's your opinion. Shaq, I love you. That's your opinion. If you want to go a few rounds, let me know. So. Let me know. And I was just sticking up for him in the chat.
Starting point is 00:49:26 But we good. Sha. But we good. Shaq, we good. Hey, you know how to get in touch with me. You want to talk, bro? Hey, you want to talk off the air, on there, whatever you want to do, bro. We good. I'm good. I ain't got no problem with you.
Starting point is 00:49:40 I ain't never had no problem with you. You know where to find me at. Okay, Ocho, check this out. A waiter goes viral for getting tip Popeyes coupons from a customer. See? See how people do?
Starting point is 00:49:52 Stay home. Stay home. Don't go to restaurants where you know they're relying on the tips that you give. Don't do that. Hey, even though... Wait, that's Popeyes?
Starting point is 00:50:04 What you want me to do? I guess a way that goes viral for getting tip Popeye's coupons from a customer. Would you still take them? Now, I'm a church's person. I'm a church's person. I eat church's chicken,
Starting point is 00:50:18 obviously, you know. But Popeye's coupons ain't that bad. It ain't that bad. I prefer people. I prefer my people. When you go out, please find a way to tip something. But this is nice.
Starting point is 00:50:30 This is a nice touch. Now, if you left $20 with the coupons to go with it, now we talking business. Now we talking business. Hey, that's great. That's creative. All right.
Starting point is 00:50:41 Ocho, we running late tonight. Oh, my God. Hey, it's 2 o'clock. I got my daughter's... And I got my daughter... My daughter graduated from... She getting... Where you at? You in A?
Starting point is 00:50:54 I got... Oh, you in A. Okay, okay, okay. I was trying to figure out why your background looked different. Okay. Oh, you see your boy Rue? You in Airbnb? background look different. Okay. Oh, you see your boy Rue looking at the pool table? You in the Airbnb? Nah.
Starting point is 00:51:10 You know, they call me the Black Efren Reyes, the magician. On the pool table, I'm like that. No, you're not. Best in the house. No, you're not. Best in the house. Trust me, you're not. You're not. Man, I beat four dudes on the way to a pool. Trust me. You're not. You're not.
Starting point is 00:51:26 Man, I beat four dudes on the way to a pool tournament like you. Do you understand? Do you understand when it comes to ping pong? I know I play around a lot. When it comes to ping pong, pool,
Starting point is 00:51:36 bowling, you are not going to beat any of the three. Look for me this summer. Look for me this summer. Hey, put your money where your mouth is. I'm not a gambling man, but when it comes to those three, I'm a gamble. The Chinese offered me a spot like the French team.
Starting point is 00:51:54 Offered Joel Embiid a spot in basketball. The Chinese, I couldn't do it. All right. I couldn't do it, Ocho. Check this out, Ocho. J-Dub Thackred said, please send a special shout out to my wife, Stephanie. It's our second wedding anniversary. Looking forward to many more, Ocho. Check this out, Ocho. J-Dub Thackard said, please send a special shout out to my wife, Stephanie. It's our second wedding anniversary. Looking forward to many more. Ocho,

Yes, I was the better athlete and Spanker was a better football player. What do you think? I saw your daughter in the A today.
Starting point is 00:52:47 Yes, I was the better athlete. He was the better football player, but as far as just pure athlete, as far as like running, jumping, catching, throwing, doing all that stuff, yes, I was a better athlete. He was a much better football player. No question about that. He was the better football player. Dink, you're right. Leon Banks
