He might not, Ocho, this is my experience.
Starting point is 00:02:25 I'm 56 years of age, Ocho, so I already had a little bit more practice than you. Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. The one thing I noticed about you. You had a little more practice than who? Nah, don't do that. Don't do that. Trust me, trust me.
Starting point is 00:02:36 Nah, no, hey. You know what? A man might, Ocho. I don't wanna get in trouble. I don't wanna get in trouble, you right. You have more than me. A man might not even want to get in trouble. I want to get in trouble. You right. You have more, you have more than me. A man might not even want the woman. Let another man show interest in her.
Starting point is 00:02:49 Yeah. Yeah. I know what you mean. I know what you're talking about. Man, that's my wife. Hold on. She told me y'all living apart. What you mean that's your wife? She said y'all been separated for two years.
Starting point is 00:03:03 Oh, that's my baby mama. Yeah. She told. Yeah. Oh, that's my baby mama. Yeah, she told Yeah, you right, bro. You right, right? My bad Mm-hmm. My bad, bro. I didn't know She told me y'all was paid. I don't put your bag Oh, I don't put her out there like that when she told me X Y Z Right, even when I got caught in the situation. I didn't tell a man. She told me she was my bad, bro.
Starting point is 00:03:25 Yeah, I'm wrong. Yeah, it ain't that serious, bro. I get my stuff. Hey, even if I buy somewhere, hey, somebody come up, I'll leave. Oh, yeah, I'm gone. I'll let you handle that. Yeah. You know, and you know, you got to be careful, too. Now, you know, some some men, some men will crash out by day people not only crash out by day people, but sometimes you don't even get a second chance.
Starting point is 00:03:49 Sometimes you don't even get a second chance. So women have to understand who they're dealing with and who they're dating or who they're trying to break up with and understand and not putting the new man in danger or in uncomfortable positions because you already know how the person feel feel about you. Yeah. Don't put me in harm's way. Don't don't do that. Don't do that. You know, I'll be what I'll be wanting to tell him. I see why you about to crash out that thing good.
Starting point is 00:04:25 Hey, listen, hey, hey, look here. I'm telling you somebody hurt you you about a bad look here. Yeah. I got paid. I don't, I don't, I don't joke around with that. Somebody say that's my lady. Yeah. I take his word for it. I ain't with daddy. What he said, you might not be with him, but he would shoot.
Starting point is 00:04:38 That's enough for me. Yeah. Yeah. You don't got time to play. Oh no. Hell no. You know, it ain't worth it. Listen, a man, a man, boy, whatever it may be, for some reason, they don't they don't think right, they don't think logical or logically when it comes to a woman that they love, a woman that they like, they don't think logically.
Starting point is 00:05:02 And this day and age, man, shit. But I don't want no part of that. Just go back. What did what did what did David do to Basheba's husband? Put him on the front line, cause he wanted him. Yeah. Yeah. Oh Joe, I throw my hands up quick, bro. I ain't no bro.
Starting point is 00:05:17 My bad, I'm wrong. I'm wrong, bro. I'm wrong. I ain't trying to be no hero. I ain't trying to save nobody. I'm out. At all. At all.
Starting point is 00:05:32 And I think that jealousy like that and insecurity is manifested in believing that an individual is your property. I see it personally, as you feeling as its ownership. Like, I just, I can't move like that. It just don't feel right. It don't feel right.
Starting point is 00:05:58 Like if Baby, Baby in that sleep right now, if Baby has made a decision that, you know what, I don't want to this ain't working out I don't want to be with you no more. I let it go. Man I'm okay back you know. You can't make nobody you can't make nobody be with you. I appreciate the time that we spent. Yeah. I appreciate the time and the memories that we created. Hell I'm happy for the little one we got. I wish you the best with whoever's next. All that jealousy and all you ain't going nowhere, you even a even a player with me like that now, but this is all bad.
Starting point is 00:06:32 Oh, I hear them quick men, my mind and be some old show, man, go on, you know, yeah, you know, the ego, the ego, the ego and the pride got to kick it at some point. You got to kick it at some point. You got to kick it at some point. Yeah. Especially my back against the wall in the situation like that. What's she gonna go? Cause I don't, cause here's the thing, cause of another dude, he's gonna be
Starting point is 00:06:54 like, yeah, man, man, he was over there. I was in a situation, oh Joe. If she didn't tell me, right. I didn't know. Right. I was over there at the check house. Oh, come on. It's over. But I know one you never go to a woman's house. Oh, Joe, this old Joe, there was there was 35 years ago.
Starting point is 00:07:16 OK, OK, OK. Oh, Joe, you know, you boy. OK, parlayed. Yeah, take it. Later. Take your time. Now take your time. Well, he called me twice. He called me twice. He called me twice. So he done warned you one time and you done went back again? No, okay.
Starting point is 00:07:50 He called me out of the house. Right. She told me, Shannon, I don't want to be with him. I said, well, why don't you tell him that? She said, I told him. She said, well, what if we meet somewhere? Right. I said, where we gonna meet? say, well, what about, what if we meet somewhere? I said, where are we gonna meet?
Starting point is 00:08:06 Hotel, huh? No, Ocho. Take your time now, come on. Ocho. We meet somewhere. Yes, sir. I still don't know to this day because back then there was no GPS on the phone or no tags and none of that.
Starting point is 00:08:35 How does man find us? Are you pushing? Oh, Joe, you remember the movie Hitch? When Will Smith and he rolled the winner down in his rainy right and he asked him Oh try to come up off of what he would cry he will cry did you console him and And that's the perfect time. That's the perfect time. I live. I said, I can't ask them.
Starting point is 00:09:09 What you want me to do? I want you to do crying. But that's the perfect time for you to pull him to side. That's the perfect time. You got to have that talk with him. I pull some out. It wasn't him aside though, trust me. But he had to, he had to ruin my mojo.
Starting point is 00:09:41 Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, man, you can't, you can't let, you can't let brothers, you know, especially at a time like that, even though you owe him nothing, even though you owe him nothing. We you see them. I say, you know what? I'm out. I said, bro, you know what? I said, you could have. I said, you could have. You can't do that. You can't do that. You can't let him go out like that. I let him have it. You can't let him go outside like that. He said she wanted to be with me. She was bad. She was bad. She was bad. No bad.
Starting point is 00:10:03 But see, can I say something? Can I say something real quick for you? Now you have to understand she got to a point where she tolerates you until she replaced you and you were the replacement. You were the replacement. Now you gotta understand, even though you are who you are, at some point that psycho repeats itself. Yeah. At some point. So you always got to keep that in mind and back ahead. You never want to be you never want to be number one. You never want to be number one because number two get all the benefits. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:10:36 Chad stay with me now. And if you're number two stay number two. Yeah, always always stay number two. And I'm telling you now. Now, I mean, listen, I'm not talking about my situation, but anyway, that's I'm that's number one. They were is a different ballgame. Sometimes you got to grow up. But in other situations, it's it's imperative unless you found that one. Stay number two, man.
Starting point is 00:11:06 Stay number two is the best. It's the best position to ever have, because you get to hear all the complaining about number one and all the bullshit. You got to deal with nothing. Just look. I didn't know. Like I said, I was over there and I obviously my car was parked in the front. Oh, we saw you. No. Like I said, I was over there and I obviously my car was parked in the front
Starting point is 00:11:32 No, but the next time we was off in the woods like we a high school in the woods yes Okay, hey Boy, hey, oh you did the split for you. He'll got bad. Oh, boy. Hey, oh, you didn't split. Well, he helps got bad. Oh, I can get busy to Shavette or Fiesta or you go. Hey, man, you better stop playing with up. Come on and get it. Oh, yeah, no, but I thought you're to this day, I still don't know how he found us. I don't. I still don't know how this day to he found us. Somebody, somebody to follow somebody to follow. He was following one devil. That's the only way, especially when I think about wherever you were.
Starting point is 00:12:17 I think about woods and how spacious whatever area you had to be in. Someone had to be following ahead of time and be able to know exactly where you were. I learned my lesson. I said I'm done with it. Hey, I ain't finna tussle with no guy. That's my, that's my bro. If that's your people. Yeah. I'm good with it. Yeah, you have. Now don't call me. Don't call me. Yeah. Don't call. He call your phone? No, no, she I know I never I know it was like, you know what? I'm a lettuce. I'm a lettuce rock. Yeah. I'm out. Yeah. Hey, it's a dirty world, man.
Starting point is 00:12:56 It's a dirty game. A lot. A lot of men have lost their lives behind that situation. You just explained because they don't get a chance. They don't have a guy or they they don't have a listen. Women got that. You better understand who you're dealing with. You better. Man, you know, I'm going to leave that alone because I lost a lot of friends like that. But I lost a lot of friends like that.
Starting point is 00:13:18 Women being sneaky, not understanding. You know that. Excuse me. I'm going to say the N word. You know that boy don't play about you. Why? Why are you even playing like that? Yes. And that not one of my people is gone. Life gone. Because you want to play and be sneaky. And you know, everybody don't play the same about they woman
Starting point is 00:13:41 that they may think is there. Your will. You know, you're telling me you're telling him one thing, but you know, he think another you saying you tell everybody, oh, I'm not with him no more. But hell, he's still with you. He with you. Huh? Hey, yeah, you had to learn. Oh, Joe, I didn't I didn't realize because, you know, I heard people getting called in
Starting point is 00:14:03 situation, but I'm thinking to myself I'm who I am. I'd never be in a situation like that. Oh, I'm shit You will until you find yourself in that situation. Yeah, you never understand Cuz at that point time I never had a gun pulled on me oh, yeah. Yeah. Yeah, that story was crazy, but Hey, you want to go back and get your what would you want to go back and get your what would my role is? Hey, but I had to get down, Joe.
Starting point is 00:14:32 Man, I think we'll fit your band. That thing was all baggaded out. Blackface, Rollie, presidential band bucket. They may be a sharp edge. You won't get up. Kill. You better pull back up there. You're going to get that watch on. And I have my 84 chain. I have an 84 chain that my brother had brought me.
Starting point is 00:14:51 Right. So I brought the necklace, but he brought me. He bought the 84. He gave me the 84. Right. He could have had, he could have had the watch. Really? If you say, nah, bro, I give you a necklace.
Starting point is 00:15:02 I'm going to keep the watch. I'd let that slug sleep. Right. Right. Right. for right he could have had he could have had to watch really if he say nah bro I give you a necklace I'm gonna keep the watch I'd let that slug sleep right right that chain that my brother gave me oh I need that hey bro put that gun down fight me for it I'll be like the dude hey oh Joe you thought it do be in the street with the other police officer? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:15:26 Oh, you take that belt off. Take that badge off. I take the bag out of there. Yeah. I done told him, hey bro, you want the chain? Put that gun down and fight me for it. I done beat the brakes on it. Hey, you gone playin' by that chain, huh?
Starting point is 00:15:43 What? Yeah. Ocho, I gotta clean the house with it what fight me for it it is dope that's dope oh Joe I've had opportunity I mean I've had opportunity to write a book yeah I got I got some stories, Ocho. Oh, yeah. The story that I told you. Yeah. If I were to tell some of the stories. Right. And you know, I got the story.
Starting point is 00:16:15 Yeah, you've been some stuff, man. I got I got I got I listen, I got some I have some great. Oh, let me take me. Let me put my glass down. I got some great stories on. Yeah. You know, but it wouldn't behoove me to share that kind of information. Basically, that went on during those days. Yeah, because because of the position I'm in now and who I'm with.
Starting point is 00:16:39 It did. It wouldn't end well. It went in well. Yeah. And like, you know, been together, you've been together for a minute now. It wouldn't end well. It wouldn't end well. Yeah. And like, y'all been together. Y'all been together for a minute now. So back to like when I was in my twenties, I ain't gonna lie, Ocho. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:16:54 Hey, but now, like I say, what they tell me, hey, dude show up, that's me, that's my people. You right, bro, my bad. Hey, I put my defensive position, I ain't gonna say what she said. Right. She said y'all wasn't together. She blah, blah, blah. She been calling me. This ain't the first. None of that. You're right, bro. My bad. I'm sorry. Mm hmm. I'm gonna keep it moving. Yeah. Oh, Joe. Oh, Joe. Mm hmm. Oh, Joe, Joe. Mm hmm. Hey, I'm not bad.
Starting point is 00:17:30 I'm done with it. I'm just thinking about I'm thinking about dudes when you have a woman. I mean, I can only speak for myself when you have a woman that you know is playing with you like that. And you know, she's seeing somebody else or So she being, she, she moving weird and she moving funny. And obviously some, sometimes men, you don't want to lead the situation you in. And I always thought to myself, if she moving funny, why not just do the exact same thing? Why does do the exact same thing? Oh, you want to move weird?
Starting point is 00:18:01 Okay. I'm a mover here too. You know what? I, the, the situation we're in, I can't really put myself in the lead right now. It hurt different when a woman move funny. Because men look see men look at women differently. Oh, it hurt. It hurt different how? How?
Starting point is 00:18:19 Oh, Joe, you don't know about what I told you about managing expectations. When it comes to I know, but I'm saying, but normally you already got them expectations in. So did I tell you about managing expectations when it comes to- I know, but I'm saying, but normally you already done got them expectations in. So you got to go in managing expectations. Once y'all done been there, bruh, you don't want nobody fishing in your pond. If you been number two for a while, right? If you been number two for a while, this is where I don't- This is where for us we have to stop living in delusion as men. It doesn't just in general, just in general.
Starting point is 00:18:48 So if you've been number two for a while and understand the playing field when you're in your 20s or in your teens and you're 25 and you're 30 and you understand what women were able to do with you. Yeah. Women that are married, women that are taken, women that in situationships, women that in relationships, you understand what they were able to do with No, I'm fooling a mad woman I know it's me, but stay with me for a little bit now
Starting point is 00:19:10 Okay, understand the landscape and what they were able to do with you and you was number two sometimes even number three Sometimes you want to be two or three. Maybe you was number four If they could do with you, I put my my ego and my pride aside. If I want there's a chance it can happen to me, too. Yeah, I don't know. I'm just saying in general, I don't have no big hair. But I do. I live in reality and I'm not delusional.
Starting point is 00:19:36 If you know my two or three is one that should have the problem. Yeah, because you already know you, too. Yeah, if the dude that's one doesn't know there's a two or three. Oh Listen, you know what? Wait, you don't know you woman You got to know you woman You got to know your woman you understand understand who you're dealing with how you don't know that's number two It's easy to tell It's very easy to tell based on how a person is moving.
Starting point is 00:20:06 If you're doing shit that's out of character that you've never done before. Women good with that thing, they had a women can stay in character, boy. Listen, wait, boy, I haven't the camera. Ain't got to be rolling for me to get in character either. I'm on that. What a game is the game. I'm telling you, you've been doing the 56 years, but man, listen, boy, I'm sharper than the number two pencil.
Starting point is 00:20:31 Now you play play, play if you want to. Act funny if you want to, bitch, it'd be a comedy show. And I'm not going to say nothing. Like, I don't, I don't all that chasing. Oh, that's my girl. Oh, that's how we move it. OK, back. Oh, you know, I can show you better than I can tell you. And I know I know one thing at some point, women have to understand if the person you're seeing gets fed up.
Starting point is 00:20:59 Who's the number one? And decides to leave, you think number two is going to take you serious? No, he like it role. Exactly. So now you're playing you're playing with fire. So you're playing with your for show, trying to play with some more and you lose out. You're asking me about your goddamn self for show.
Starting point is 00:21:18 But some like to some like to play that game because they overestimate their value. Well, well, I can go get me another one. Oh, yeah. OK, bitch. In this economy, because what's going to happen is you go from number one to just another notch on another nigga roster. Hmm. That part. You go from that part, you go from number one to just another notch on someone else's roster, And now you just become a number.
Starting point is 00:21:47 How you want to play? Overestimate your value. Boy, ain't nothing out there in them streets now. Not there in them streets now. Hi. Ain't got to be Sunday. You drop the sermon on him. I'm on that.
Starting point is 00:22:07 Hey there, it's Michael Lewis, author of Going Infinite, Moneyball, The Blind Side, and Liars Poker. On every season of my podcast Against the Rules, I take a broad look at various characters in American life. The referee, the coach, the expert. My next season is all about fans and what the rise of sports betting is doing to them, to the teams, and even to my family. I'm heading to Las Vegas and New Jersey and beyond to understand America's newest form
Starting point is 00:22:37 of legalized gambling. Listen to Against the Rules on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you listen to podcasts. Raiders fans, well, Antonio appears to be fired after kicking the field goal down eight in the red zone with two plus minutes remaining. Raiders signed Desmond Ritter off Arizona practice squad. Oh Joe. What's going on with the Raiders? Hey How do you want to man fight over it you got to understand what's going on as as a Raider fan
Starting point is 00:23:20 You lose Devante Adams as a Raider fan, you don't really have consistent quarterback play. In order to be an efficient run NFL team to be able to compete week in and week out, the one position that you need, you've got to have your quarterback. You've got to have a quarterback. You got to. Without it you got no chance at all. And if you don't have a quarterback, everything else around the quarterback has to be terrible. Greater. Yeah. I mean, it's terrible, but it has to be that much greater to be able to compete week in and week out.
Starting point is 00:24:03 Damn man. You want to fire the man already, man. Come on, man. You want to fight a man already, man. Come on now. Damn. Damn, AP. Speaking of jobs, Ochoa, I found out you had a 58th job. Tell us about it. Hey, hey, hey, hey. Hey, chat, chat, chat, chat, chat.
Starting point is 00:24:24 Y'all stay with me real quick. Hold on, hold on,, hey, chat, chat, chat, chat. You all stay with me real quick. Hold on. Hold on. Hold on. Hold on. I'm tripping. Oh, they had it. I couldn't see. I couldn't see. Hey, check. Can you all hear me? I want to make sure I got your attention. I want you to pretend like we had we had to speak easy. OK, snap with me. I've gotten I've gotten my three hundred and eighty seven
Starting point is 00:24:49 11th job, right? Oh, you hear me? I hear you. So. Everybody in this chat knows how much I love the game of soccer. Everybody knows how much I love soccer and. I got the opportunity thanks to Apple. I'd like to thank everyone over at Apple. We all know.
Starting point is 00:25:13 They may list post-season starts tomorrow with the wildcard matches. More importantly. Arguably, maybe the greatest soccer player of all time by the name of Messi makes his first MLS appearance on October 25th And guess who's gonna be there? Calling the game Talking about the game sharing his experience and his love about the game on that broadcast as
Starting point is 00:25:40 Inter Miami plays their first MLS postseason game. Well, actually, Messi's first MLS postseason game. That would be me. That's cool. That would be me making the appearance on the broadcast. So I need everybody to do me a favor. Even if you don't watch the game of soccer, even if you don't, so that everybody in the chat,
Starting point is 00:25:57 that means I should have all of you watching Inter Miami's and Messi's first MLS postseason game, because I'm going to be on the broadcast. So I need all of you to do me a favor to tune in Apple to Apple TV on a Friday, October 20 match starts at 8 30 PM Eastern. And best is free for y'all. It's free for y'all. Make sure y'all tune in, check your boy out. You've never seen me in this space.
Starting point is 00:26:27 Now if I start crying because I love the game of soccer like that I love the beautiful game to that point Just bear with me. So I need y'all to tune in October 25 Congratulations, right? I appreciate that appreciate appreciate that. Thank you everybody at Apple. I appreciate the opportunity and uh This is this is this is a lot for me. Oh Joe, two of says he won't wear a guardian cap. Dolph is running back Dave Devon a Chan, uh, a Chan. Yeah. A war one against the cold, some sun in his return from a concussion.
Starting point is 00:27:01 But two have said he will not do the Tua said it's a personal choice when asked why he decided not to wear the extra protection. Tua was also asked about those who are concerned about him putting himself at risk of lasting problems due to brain injury. He said there's a gray area in terms of what darkness believes in terms of long-term impact of concussions and playing football is what makes me happy and I'm going to do it. I appreciate your concern. I really do. I love this game. I love it to death.
Starting point is 00:27:29 I love it to the depth of me. That's it. Hey, uh, Hey, let me, let me help. Let me help everybody. Hey chat, listen to me real quick. And I'm not trying to be rude. I'm not trying to come off, um, and, and, and sensitive. I understand he trying to be rude. I'm not trying to come off in sensitive. I understand he's had concussions.
Starting point is 00:27:50 You know what you sign up for when you play a game of this magnitude that is as violent as it is. The guardian cap. The fuck is the guardian cap gonna do? I mean, no disrespect. I mean, no disrespect. I mean, no disrespect. The brain itself, chat, y'all stay with me. The brain itself, it sits in a ball of fluid, right?
Starting point is 00:28:12 No amount of extra padding externally, which is the guardian cap, can fully protect players from concussions, especially if they've already had them. Multiple concussions. especially if they've already had them. Multiple concussions. The brain is already damaged from crashing against the skull over and over and over. And there is no amount of protection, including a guardian cap
Starting point is 00:28:37 that is going to protect the skull in general from the helmet, the helmet impact. I mean, just the guardian cap. Because still, if you do get Just, I mean, just the guardian cap, because still, if you do get hit, again, even with the guardian cap on, the ball of fluid is going to hit the skull and the same thing is going to happen. The same thing is gonna happen.
Starting point is 00:28:58 I think that's why they- This perceived notion that, oh, if you put the guardian cap on, oh, it's gonna prevent concussions. No, the fuck it's not. No, it's not going to prevent it. Just like just like you can wear your seatbelt and still die in a car crash. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:29:12 Just like the air. Just like the airbag. You can still die, but it does offer an extra layer of protection. It's not the end all be all right. Right. Right. Right. I understand. I understand what you mean. But these players are moving at such a fast rate of speed Once that once your jarred up there once your jarred up there even with that guardian cap
Starting point is 00:29:34 And that fluid in that net that that brain hits the skull again It's gonna be the say it's gonna be it's gonna be the same thing on Well, I don't think people people at home, I know you watch football and you see it. I'm not sure how close you've been to the game. Them motherfuckers moving fast as hell, man. The research says the guardian caps have contributed to nearly 50% reduction and concussions. The cap can absorb at least 10% of the force of a hit According to NFL research that 10% of force makes a massive difference. I
Starting point is 00:30:16 Ain't buying them numbers. I ain't buying them numbers. Let me ask you think you think a seat belt say help save lives Yo, yeah, it does. It does. That's what I That's what they tell you to buckle up. Oh So you don't want that extra layer protection in this you want extra layer of protection in the car, but not in your head. What about airbags? Hey, you hear the numbers, you see how they threw the numbers out for the Guardian Cat, right?
Starting point is 00:30:37 Yeah, you have to study, you have to do research, Ocho. How do you do the research if you're not using players that's actually playing and using them? So where the research coming at? You have to do it on the players that are actually playing using them. So where the research coming at? You have to do it on the players that are actually playing in the games and play a full seven-piece season.
Starting point is 00:30:50 In practice, you know everybody practices in them. They don't hit nobody in practice, man. They do hit. And come on, don't do me like that, man. Let me ask you a question. How much do the seatbelt, how much does the seatbelt reduce deaths? How much does the airbag?
Starting point is 00:31:06 It's it's it's it's a lie. It does like no bullshit. I'm not even I'm not even going to sit here and play like that. I know multiple stories with the fact that they had a seat belt on and it saved their ass. Yes. And sometimes guess what? What's the guy that fought Crawford? He got thrown from his car. He didn't have his seatbelt on and he lived. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:31:32 God damn. Errol, my man, Errol Smith. Yeah. Think about it. Yeah, a mouthpiece helped cut down on concussions because you bite down on something. Yeah, you didn't wear one. I didn't wear one. I didn't wear one. I ain't wear one.
Starting point is 00:31:47 And I got I got I got lucky. I got lucky. Let me knock on wood. Got lucky and fortunate I had one concussion. Remember that you saw that hit while we knocked out. Oh, you got knocked out, too. I got knocked out several times. You got knocked out more than once. Remember the skinny route?
Starting point is 00:32:03 You ran a skinny route in the middle. I got hit in Minnesota, got knocked out. I got knocked out more than once? Remember the skinny route? You ran the skinny route in the middle of the city. I got hit in Minnesota, got knocked out. I got knocked out twice in Minnesota. I knocked myself out against the Patriots on Monday night. Right. At least four times. Yeah, I saw the highlight on Twitter. I didn't even know you got knocked out.
Starting point is 00:32:19 But I was crying. I wonder if anybody know where Brian Russell is? Safety that played with the Cleveland Browns that went in front of my chin when I had that goddamn blonde mohawk that knocked me out Now you got me too. He got he got you. That's who got me in Minnesota back in 2002 You know, that's that's racist If he got you and it got me that means it's a motherfucking pattern. Yeah, that's that's my dude.
Starting point is 00:32:48 Brian Russell, I'm not sure where you are. I love you. I miss you. I appreciate you. And because of you, I am who I am today. And that's the one time I had a concussion. Well, two times. I was.
Starting point is 00:33:01 Lewis Delmas. Remember Lewis Delmas? Yeah. Boy, boy, boy. Hey was. Lewis Delmas. Remember Lewis Delmas? Yeah. Boy, boy, boy, hey, he got me good. My head bounced right off the turf. All I saw, all I saw was black and I saw the little star, the little dots.
Starting point is 00:33:14 Yeah. Oh, he got me good. All I'm saying is, Ocho had, they had that and I'd had the concussions. Right. Because like, we didn't, you got your bell wrong. It wasn't, I ain't here to turn concussion until later in my career. Right. And you got to be a wrong.
Starting point is 00:33:29 You got dinged. But to have it and have I had a layer of protection because I think like you said, Kelsey had one Steve Tasker wore that extra protection on top of his helmet. Don Bibi, Don Bibi, big as. Extra. Yeah. He said he said he didn't want to wear it. Hey, I mean, that's the end of that. That's the end of that for me, Ocho. And his return to the game against his former team.
Starting point is 00:33:51 Say, Kwan had himself a special afternoon. He had 176 yards and a Russian touchdown. Nick Sarayani told Sequon he was just 13 yards shy of his career. High for Russian yards in a single game. So he was a little Saquon he was just 13 yards shy of his career, half a Russian yards in a single game. Knowing how cool it would probably have been to set the mark against his former team. Sarayani gave Saquon the option to stay out of the game, to stay in the game
Starting point is 00:34:19 or to come out. Saquon said he'd rather see the young players in the backups, get an opportunity. He used the term eat. He wanted to see his teammates eat. Yeah. Wow. Sequon said he'd rather see the young player in the backups, get an opportunity. He used the term eat. How he wanted to see his teammates eat. Yeah. Do you like this old joke? Yeah, I like it.
Starting point is 00:34:31 I like it. After rushing for 170, shouldn't goddamn yards against your old team that lets you goddamn go. You got damn right. I'm gonna let the young boys eat. Now, if you didn't have those numbers, if the stat line didn't look the way it did, if you weren't winning the game,
Starting point is 00:34:44 I doubt you'd come out the game, but he had done all he could. The message was sent clear, not through his mouth, but through his plate. The message was sent clear. How dare you treat me the way you did and let me go. That's like seeing you let your, your, your, you tell your girl, you know what? You know, I don't want to be with you no more. I'm going to let you go. And she going, she upgrade.
Starting point is 00:35:04 And then when you see her she come out stunting on you look at better than ever when it got a cut of hair put on a little dress a little free that's got a little heels out you know little French tip yeah over toe oh you got that oh she got that giddy girl dress oh yeah yeah yeah yeah and ain't nothing you could do about it and you just watch her prancing around having a motherfucking day and that's what Saquon did he had a he had a day Yeah, and then you could do better and you just watch it prancing around Having a motherfucking day and that's what safe one day and he had a he had a date Why you dress up like that you ain't just like that for me
Starting point is 00:35:41 Boy we wish Hey, that's funny Yeah, but're ish. Hey, hey, that's funny. Yeah, but that's unbelievable. That's a great story. I mean, Saquon is like, I've only met him a couple of times, but Cool dude. He seems like a standup guy. Cool dude.
Starting point is 00:35:55 I know he wanted to be with the Giants, but they wanted to play. Yeah. And they talking about, oh, they offered him the same money. Oh, after the Eagles? So in other words, oh, after you find out that I got another date now you want me back now you know I wish I might too late and he was going to the perfect situation the perfect situation mean the Eagles offer me money a better team better off his
Starting point is 00:36:22 life better quarterback yeah better offensive line, and you think I'm coming back to you who won't even cook me breakfast? After you done made me play on the franchise team. Stop playing with me. Now you don't see my value? Bitch, I'm gone. Yeah, you see it over here though.
Starting point is 00:36:40 The New York Jets dropped their fourth game in the row on Sunday, falling to the Steelers 37 15. The Jets are not two and five and facing uphill battle to make the postseason postseason despite having Aaron Rogers his quarterback and newly acquired Devontae Adams. Oh. Was that Wilson? They were four and three at the same point, but I know we will.
Starting point is 00:36:59 Yeah, they sure was. Yeah. Julian Edelman thanks Tom Brady to blame for the mess. Yes, find themselves in. You've got to blame Brady for this because I mean, he goes over to Tampa and wins the Super Bowl. Now everyone thinks they can do it. So this is the new wrinkle in the league where teams are trying to buy Super Bowls.
Starting point is 00:37:15 Ocho, do you agree? No, not at all. Not at all. You understand the landscape of the team that Tom Brady went to. They were already built. They were already built and had the team and the infrastructure to be able to go to a Superbowl and make it and make a run. The jets, the jets weren't built like that. Maybe on the D on the defense end,
Starting point is 00:37:33 they might have what it takes to be able to make that run. But can Aaron Rogers come in and be Superman with that jets offense and take them to a Superbowl? Probably not. Probably not. And the fact that you just said the numbers at this same point last year with Zach Wilson, they were four and three. The Jets are now two and five with a much better quarterback who was established, who's done more,
Starting point is 00:37:57 has a really, really good resume, the MVP, a pro bowler, Superbowl champion, and they're two and five at this point. So I understand what Elton was trying to say, but there's only one Tom Brady, as great as Tom Rogers is. And you understand, you have to understand the situation that Tom Brady went to, the team he went to. It was perfect, all they needed was a quarterback.
Starting point is 00:38:19 There was a quarterback away. That's all they needed. They were gonna be a playoff team if Jamies didn't turn the ball over 35 times Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah, so if Brady cut that down in half They're gonna make the playoffs. Yeah, okay knowing Brady Mm-hmm. He's not gonna have half. He's not gonna have 17 turnovers, which is half of 35 Mm-hmm. So let's just say he has 10 to 12. Yeah and
Starting point is 00:38:43 None of my pick sixes because there are a lot of pick sixes that Jame was through scooping scores. Yeah. And that defense and defense was hell for and you know, Matthew Stafford team, all they need was a quarterback. Yeah. He comes in Super Bowl time. Peyton Manning.
Starting point is 00:39:01 He comes in. They go 13 and three. Next year, Super Bowl. Two goals. 55 touchdowns, over 5,400 yards, record. Next year they go what? 13 and three, miss it. Next year, Super Bowl. Yeah, it's different.
Starting point is 00:39:15 But that team, but look what they had. They had Julius, they had Demarius Thomas. They had Eric Decker. They had Noh Shyamarino. uh, the Mary, uh, the Mary, the Marius Thomas, they had Eric Decker, they had no Shaman Reno. They had Julius Thomas. They had a school, they had a skill. All you need to all you need was the quarter. They had a Vaughn Miller.
Starting point is 00:39:41 Now they go out and they don't know that they go get a key to leave. They go get a DeMarcus where Chris,. Chris Harris Jr. is a free agent. They go get balls war. Now you got something. Cooking. So they have pieces in place. The Jets not even close to what Tampa had. Not close to what the Rams had.
Starting point is 00:40:02 They're not close to what the Broncos had. But I understand what he's saying though. I do. But I understand what he's saying, though. I do, too. I understand what he's saying, but not. Yeah. Hey there, it's Michael Lewis, author of Going Infinite, Moneyball, The Blind Side and Liar's Poker. On every season of my podcast against the rules, I take a broad look at various characters in American life.
Starting point is 00:40:22 The referee, The coach. The expert. My next season is all about fans and what the rise of sports betting is doing to them, to the teams, and even to my family. I'm heading to Las Vegas and New Jersey and beyond to understand America's newest form of legalized gambling. Listen to Against the Rules on the iHeart radio app, Apple podcasts, or wherever you listen to podcasts.
Starting point is 00:40:57 NBA star Anthony Edwards says he will play at the NFL if he wins a ring in the next few years. I told my homeboy, if I win a ring in the next few years, I told my homeboy, if I win a ring in the next three to four years, I'm going to play football. I like it. You know, you know, the only reason I'm saying I like it is because he played football throughout the entirety of his career. I could tell you what position and what, what, what NFL comparison I'm comparing him to.
Starting point is 00:41:28 I see him like a Durbin James. He won't play wide receiver and now, you know, he can't play no goddamn receiver. That's what he said. He's a damn big. They don't get his ass locked up. And he's not fast enough. He's fast locked up. And he's not fast enough. You know, I'm just saying because of his size and he's agile, his lateral movement is really good.
Starting point is 00:41:52 You know, he's quick, he's twitchy. He's not twitchy like a Tengdell or a Zay Flowers, but you know, he twitchy. You know, for basketball, I can see him playing safety in the box, coming downhill. But receiver, that's a big boy, man. You know, he's one of the men,
Starting point is 00:42:09 I'm the young DBS, get in his chest. Man, he won't be able to get off that goddamn line. They think it's easy. Nah, it ain't. But you gotta look at guys, they say we'll look at guys. That's like football players thinking we can go hoop, especially at that level. Shit, you get out there and look. People talk about, about well look at Julius Peppers. Julius Peppers played football
Starting point is 00:42:28 in college. Yeah. Jimmy, Jimmy, what's Jimmy Graham played football in college. Yeah. Tony Gonzalez played football in college. Yes they were two-way guys. Right. They didn't take seven, eight years off of playing a sport and then go try to pick said sport back up. Yeah. eight years off of playing a sport and then go try to pick a sport back up. But yeah. But hey, I want to see it. I should. I do too. I do too. I'll be watching.
Starting point is 00:42:51 I know it ain't gonna be received. I know that. All right, Ocho. It's time. Yo Seguin is here. Yeah. It's time for soccer cap. Soccer cap. Soccer cap. Soccer cap.
Starting point is 00:43:07 Wait, we got no graphic. I guess not. Oh, sorry. My good people. You know what tomorrow is? The River Champs League continues this week with match day three. And as a reminder, you can stream every single match live exclusively on Paramount plus Real Madrid, post-Dormant in the rematch
Starting point is 00:43:33 of the most recent Champions League final tomorrow on Tuesday, October 22nd at three p.m. Eastern. Then Wednesday's slate is highlighted by Barcelona versus Byron at three PM. Robert Lewandowski faces his former club, which will be a massive, massive matchup. Both teams need points to move up in the champions league standings.
Starting point is 00:43:59 Both matches are streaming exclusively on Paramount plus do me a favor. Everybody in the chat, head to paramountplus.com slash live sports to sign up. Obviously for the real Madrid, Dorben match, they played 15 masses against each other. Madrid has won seven of those matches. Dortmund has won three. There have been five draws. Madrid has 26 goals. Dortmund has 19 goals.
Starting point is 00:44:29 All 15 of the team's past contests have come in the Champions League. Let me see. For me, when it comes to the Real Madrid-Dortmund match, I have as a winner... Oh, my goodness. I'm going to Real Madrid. I'm going to Real Madrid-Dormant match I have as a winner. Oh my goodness. I'm going to Real Madrid. I'm going to Real Madrid and Bope and Bope, Rodrigo and goddamn Venetian Jr. They got to get it done. They got to get it done. As far as the net,
Starting point is 00:44:56 the previous match between Barcelona and Bayern, it's in Barcelona is on fire right now. Barcelona's on fire right now. They played 15 matches against each other. Barcelona has only won two of those matches and Bayern has won 11. They've had four, they had two draws, but you don't, I don't think you watch La Liga, but Barcelona is on F'ing fire right now and they put everybody on notice in La Liga. So I was at first, I was going with Bayern to win this game. But with Barcelona being informed like they are now,
Starting point is 00:45:27 I'm going with Barcelona to beat Bayern and probably shock some of the people that are betting on the game. They probably gonna be shocked. Other than that, that's who I got winning that game. And that is my soccer cap for tonight. There it is, soccer cap. Ocho Cin single style.
Starting point is 00:45:47 I don't know. Last segment of the day is time for Q and A. All right. Let me put some socks on. I think cold as hell. First question comes from Adam Blades. Hey, going back to my home, Tom Brady said during the game, my home isn't playing for stats anymore.
Starting point is 00:46:03 He's playing the wing game. All that matters to him. Do you agree with that statement? So he's trying to throw interceptions. He's trying to overthrow receivers. Of course not. He's just a little off right now. I don't think, you know, I don't think he's playing.
Starting point is 00:46:17 I don't think he wants to throw for 151 yards, but right now he's off a little bit, uh, the receivers, I mean, look, it's not like he's off a little bit. The receivers, I mean, look, it's not like he's throwing to, you know, top 10, top five receivers. And you know, he has to win the way he has to win. They have to play with outstanding defense, get the running game cranked up, and then when they need him to make a throw,
Starting point is 00:46:39 he has to make throws. But I don't think he's out there like playing for, no, he's not playing for stats. None of the, none of the the elite quarterbacks, I mean once you win you try to win But the Sabre homes is like yeah Well, if I just go out here and I play Most guys can't most teams their quarterback can't play like my homes and win games. They can't throw two interceptions They can't turn the ball over like my home's has turned the ball over and be as inefficient at each band.
Starting point is 00:47:07 No, you can't do that. That's what's surprising to me. That is the most surprising thing to me is that the way their office is playing and they're six and oh, you think Lamar Jackson, because the guy said he was asking, said Tom Brady said during the telecast that Mahomes isn't playing for stats anymore. He's playing the win game. And that's all that matters. Do you agree with the statement? Yeah, that's all that matters. But what quarterback could play like Mahomes? Eight interceptions, six touchdowns, and they'd be undefeated. Yeah, no, not very many. Nobody.
Starting point is 00:47:41 No, not very many. I mean, if in the ones that can do it, they're retired. Exactly. One that can do it or retired. Rapid collect says, what shoes are you rocking in the woods? Then you go bad. That was a good story, boy. That was a speaker man, you know, hey, that was a good story boy. That was a good thing. LB cool said, do you have any songs that pumped you up before the game? Nah, bro. I listen to Michelle and then your cello at Maxwell.
Starting point is 00:48:15 I need something to calm me down. I couldn't listen to music that hype me up. Yeah, I was already too amped up man. I pass out. Yeah, I went my pregame music. That's was was either jazz, obviously for those of you in the chat know I love Sinatra, but I had talked so much shit during the week
Starting point is 00:48:34 to the opposing team and sending gifts and all this stuff. I needed to be as calm as possible and locked in, not all riled up, just like you said I couldn't I couldn't be rah rah rah right because I didn't I had no choice but to show up cuz I already already already put the bait out there so I ain't got no choice but to play right I ain't need to hit no GZ no no none of any you know that's when GZ came out like an 0405 mm-hmm oh my god Dr. Frank L Bellamy the hell when I was well t-shirt looks great, brilliant idea.
Starting point is 00:49:08 Thank you doc. Great design by the team. Austin did his thing with these. He does a great job with design. Appreciate everybody at 84. You saw my shirt, you saw my shirt came in. There you go with some foolishness. DSN woo, that AP looks fancy on Mondays.

How you say it? Cybertruck. Cybertruck. Yeah, yeah. My baby, my baby, my baby bought me my baby. But me and Cybertruck had 90 boo boo. Yeah.
