Starting point is 00:00:59 top 25 players of the last 25 years starting on June 30th on the iHeart radio app, Apple podcast, or wherever you get your podcasts. If we, if we let's, let's transition to some sports, man. I know you say you're the biggest football. I'm limited, but help me out. Come on. Let's go into it as a, as a true New Yorker. Right. I want to, I want to hear from you. Who's your, who's your New York team in basketball first? Nicks, Nets, who you rocking with? Well, we got two teams now, but I'm Brooklyn all day. For sure.
Starting point is 00:01:32 All right. I got to start this. You got to know that. Got to start Brooklyn. Brooklyn, man. He ain't going to go. I got to start Brooklyn. I mean, come on, man.
Starting point is 00:01:42 I mean, listen, man, the king of all boroughs. Like, I gotta start there. That's only right. That's only right. All right, the Yankees or the Mets? Come on, that's too easy. Yankees. Is there New York Mets fans?
Starting point is 00:01:56 I thought all Mets fans from like Germany. My grandmother, Mets, she rest in peace. She used to be a diehard Mets fan and used to take me to Mets games when I was little. She loved the Mets. Yeah, loved the Mets. Royal bunch. So I'm trying to-
Starting point is 00:02:11 Not like the Yankees, but they're famous. If here they won, they had strawberry and all of them. I can't, I'm like- That's that era right there. Dwight Gooden, Dwight Gooden, Darrell Strawberry, that's that era. So like, I can't think of any other Mets players besides them two.
Starting point is 00:02:29 Why is that? Because that was... Why is that? I can't think, besides you, I can't think of any other Mets players. That was their time right there. That was their era. That was that moment that they had.
Starting point is 00:02:46 That they had the city and they was winning and Darrell Strawberry was sending them out the park and they had the whole city behind them and the nation was like, oh, the mess. And Dwight Gooden was pitching and Darrell Strawberry was smoking a little bit of crack. Like he was there. He was there.
Starting point is 00:03:03 He was there. Yeah, a little bit of crack. Like, it was there. It was there. It wasn't the 80s. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, a little bit of crack. It wasn't the 80s. Come on, man. They don't strike him. Yeah, a little bit of crack.
Starting point is 00:03:11 Terry, what year was you born? I was born in 91. Damn! For real? You not know you're these babies? I was going to say all those 80s babies got a little bit of crack rather than do it on us. It was rampant.
Starting point is 00:03:25 It was everywhere, you know what I'm saying? It destroyed the black community, but technically speaking, that time in the 80s, crack was like smoking weed. It was the cool thing to do, I guess, in the 80s. So all those 80 babies got a little bit of crack. You never know what happened at a party. You don't know what your dad cracked your mom.
Starting point is 00:03:48 You know what I'm saying? I don't know. I don't know. Yeah, that was their time. That was their time. Yeah. Darryl Strawberry, you know, he's getting a little bit cracked. You know what I'm saying? He's still doing his thing.
Starting point is 00:04:02 You know what I mean? All of New York. Yeah. Man, oh, Jetson. Yeah, huh? Jetson Giants. Giants, Big Blue. Big Blue.
Starting point is 00:04:15 So, the trend is like the all New York, but Brooklyn. Like Brooklyn was like the new team, so Yankees. So the Nets came from Jersey. It came from Jersey, team. So Yankees. So the Nets, the Nets came from. It came from Jers. Yeah. So. And then it came to Brooklyn. Yeah. So your teams is the Jets. Yeah. Put them all away. Them the only sports that have two teams, right? Well, you know, them three, they don't have two hockey teams. Well, no. Well, the Jets and the Giants actually play in Jersey. In the Meadowlands. Yeah, they play in Jersey, but they New York teams.
Starting point is 00:04:59 MetLife, MetLife now. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. MetLife, MetLife, MetLife, yeah. I need to fix the phone. New York, yeah. MetLife, MetLife, MetLife, yeah. I need to fix the front of the car. New York, yeah, I mean, of course, the Knicks, you know, Knicks had us all rounded up a few days ago. Yeah. Yeah. A few weeks ago.
Starting point is 00:05:14 You think they get it done next year? I mean, with the energy, we gotta maintain that energy, man. Do they have a- I feel like if we could... Do they have enough on the roster to get it done, to win the ring? The way they threw that coach out of there like that, man,
Starting point is 00:05:34 I'm like, damn. He got like, he ain't get no credit. Like he got blamed for not getting it done, but we haven't even went that far in how long? They fight to get it. Yeah. Immediately. Well, you know, he got a reputation of,
Starting point is 00:05:52 like, beating his players up. Like, you know they blame him for D-Roll. What you mean? What you mean, beating him up? Like, the season is so long, he don't, like, divert. Like, I remember, I want to say, it was like last year's playoffs, y'all had like eight healthy guys,
Starting point is 00:06:10 cause everybody was injured. You know what I'm saying? Like he has a reputation of being like a hard nosed coach and just like his teams can't finish or get it done cause they're so beat up and they're so injured. Like remember like, D-Rose had his MVP year and then you know they ran into Miami and the King James did and I don't think I'm not sure if it was the next year or following but like he was playing D-Rose and they was up like 20 in like a game one of a playoff or something.
Starting point is 00:06:45 D-Rose should've been sitting down and Tibbs was like working them still and end up hurting them. Everybody in Chicago playing Tom Thimble for D-Rose like not like becoming like the name. Being able to produce. Yeah. Yeah, they talk about his lack of rotations for sure. He lead the starters in the whole game.
Starting point is 00:07:07 Everybody playing a lot of minutes. Let's stay on this football wave. Right now we working now. Come on, let's work. Brown's insider reveals Kitty Pickett's superpower that gives him the edge over Shadur Sanders and company for the quarterback battle down in Cleveland. T, Sizzle, you know that this conference very well,
Starting point is 00:07:30 a lot of games, the Cleveland Browns. Should there be concern with the Browns organization that Shadur would not even get a fair shot at the number one spot? No, are you asking me or may I not? I'm asking both of you. I want to hear your thoughts on Shadour and the whole draft situation Mayno,
Starting point is 00:07:49 but Sizzle, I want to ask you, do you think Shadour has a fair shot of taking the number one job? Yeah, he does for the simple fact that, you know, Cleveland has a very loyal fan base and if Kenny Pick is not getting it done, they gonna want him out of there. And like, they drafted two quarterbacks.
Starting point is 00:08:14 They brought in two other ones, or three other ones, you know what I'm saying? So, like, I think he will, especially cause people to see him. You know what I'm saying? Like, everybody kind of want that Lamar Jackson feel. You know what I'm saying? We got a chance to win because this guy is under center.
Starting point is 00:08:37 You know what I'm saying? I think they definitely want, like, Shadour to kind of, like, be their star. You know what I'm saying? He was a big, he had a big, you know what I mean? He did good, he was very successful in college. You know what I'm saying? Under the spotlight, like, they want, like, Cleveland's gonna want that kid to play.
Starting point is 00:08:54 They want to see what he can do. They want to see what he can do early. You know what I'm saying? Like, they're not gonna wait around. Like, they're gonna become very impatient. Like... I don't think he'd get to start immediately. I think Joe will start the year.
Starting point is 00:09:07 Yeah. I think Joe will start the year. And I can see Shadour taking over week six early. Yeah. Pretty early. You think that early? I think so. I think the Browns would be not that competitive, honestly.
Starting point is 00:09:22 Right. And early in the season, I think it would be the best situation for them to see what they got. And Shadour would give them that best chance honestly. Right. And early in the season, I think it would be the best situation for them to see what they got and should do or give them that best chance to go win. So I think about week six, he'll be inserted as a starting QB. Is John Watson not still on their roster, is he?
Starting point is 00:09:38 He's still on the roster, yeah, but he was coming back from injury. Right. Has he been like participating in all of that? No, he came off. He's coming off an Achilles. Oh, yeah, so he ain't been doing no team drills, no OTAs. So I can't speak.
Starting point is 00:09:57 I'm not a Cleveland fan, but I think they want Deshaun Watson out. I think they, like, cheered or some shit when he got hurt, some stupid shit. So I think, you know, the Cleveland, the Cleveland fan base want a new, a new quarterback under center. I'm a big Joe Flacco fan. I'm always gonna stand by the veteran quarterback.
Starting point is 00:10:19 You know what I'm saying? But like, can he pick it? I don't think anybody in the league fears Kenny Pickett. I'm gonna be telling you the honest with you, you know what I'm saying? You know, in the league, we call the spade the spade. You know what I'm saying? The film don't lie. Like, I don't think anybody's ever witnessed a game like,
Starting point is 00:10:35 yo, we can't make no mistakes because Kenny Pickett's gonna make us play, make us pay for it. Like, you know, that dude in Foxborough, like, dude in Foxborough, like, you make a mistake, he know it pre-snap and I'm gonna light y'all asses up, you know, any breeze, the good ones know before the ball is even snapped. You know what I'm saying? So I don't I don't I don't feel that from kitty
Starting point is 00:10:59 picking, like I would never go into a game like yo, I gotta have my best game because we're playing kitty picking. I'm like, no, I'm finna get off and get like three or four of them. You know what I'm saying? Like, nobody fears, I'm being totally honest with you, as a defensive player, I wouldn't fear kitty picking. You know what I'm saying?
Starting point is 00:11:17 And is that the same guy, Miles Gary, hitting the head with the helmet? And they're teammates now? Damn, yeah. Wow. We know he gonna be protecting. Miles walking around with two helmets everywhere. He got them, he got his back.
Starting point is 00:11:36 Miles Garry one of the best players in the league, hands down, but I don't think I could ever like get over a guy hitting me in the head with a helmet. I didn't have no helmet on. Nah, he like, he like black-a-mo this shit too. He would act up. Yep. And if it wasn't for Powsley, they wouldn't have did nothing.
Starting point is 00:11:52 Like, like Marquis Powsley, the one like, oh, I'm finna, I'm finna, I'm finna get it on with him. But everybody else was like, hey man, okay. He went all in. But no, ain't nobody feel like Kenny Pick. I think like you said, I'm not sure it'd be week six. I think, because if you know how the draft went, it might be a rebellious thing.
Starting point is 00:12:13 Like, we don't want to give him, like, we don't want to hand him the offense so early and so young. Axmano, too, about that draft. Man, I just have a question. Why, and I guess this is about Shadoor. Why they played with him at the draft? Why he wasn't in the round? I want to ask you Mano first.
Starting point is 00:12:31 I'll give my opinion, my perspective. I want to get your thoughts first. Like, why do you think? I really don't know why they handled him like that. You know, I hear his attitude or whatever, but I'm not that tapped in. Like, from what they said, they was like, he didn't have good interviews at the combine.
Starting point is 00:12:57 But I think that's bullshit because anybody who's not doing the draft process, they were like, when they interviewed the kid or talked to the kid, they was like, yo, he was very humble kid, respectful kid. Like, like, you know, I never met him, but like you just said, we just had a discussion about the internet
Starting point is 00:13:21 and how they want to see that. Like, I think they really did it to kind of like punish like Dion and him too, you know what I'm saying? It was basically done in. I think he's done his fight because. OK, he don't go in the first round. Like we, all right, that happens. You know what I'm saying?
Starting point is 00:13:48 Like Lamar almost didn't go in the first round. Ozzy Nuse traded back in in the first round to go up and get Lamar. Like Lamar almost fell out of the first round. Like it happens at the draft, like, you know, stuff, crazy stuff happens on draft night. But fifth round, like all those other quarterbacks taking ahead of him, like one or two, okay, like we can respect
Starting point is 00:14:12 you weren't the first quarterback taken, but like he went in the fifth round, like Shador Sanders was way better than fifth round. He didn't deserve to be all the way back there. He didn't deserve to be all the way back there. When he was sliding, we was like, all right, how far is this gonna go? Who's gonna take them? And you look at all them teams
Starting point is 00:14:34 that had horrible quarterback play last year that needs a quarterback, and why would they go another way? This kid throws, he got a good arm, he got the arm, he got the numbers, he got the talent, he got the athletic ability. You gonna punish the kid for not throwing at the combine? I didn't run at the combine. A lot of people don't do it at the combine.
Starting point is 00:15:00 You know what I'm saying? They want you to do it, so they don't have to get on a plane and fly to see your personal workout or for whatever reason, they want, all right, we got all y'all here, all y'all. And it's like the worst process ever. You know what I'm saying?
Starting point is 00:15:13 They wake you up at like 6 a.m., they tugging on you, you gotta take this test, you gotta do that test, you gotta go meet with this team. And then they say, all right, go run your fastest 40 and go bench press as many times as you can. You know what I'm saying? It's not like, like you don't want to have everything
Starting point is 00:15:30 you've been, you know, working your whole life for, throw it into this one, you know, interview, this one audition, you know? Right, right, right, right. A lot of guys like I did, you know what I'm saying? You got a controlled environment. It's on my terms. You know what I'm saying?
Starting point is 00:15:44 I'm coming in here. I'm not interviewing with no a controlled environment. It's on my terms. You know what I'm saying? I'm coming in here. I'm not interviewing with no teams all day. I'm not taking tests all day. I'm coming in here to do the bench test and I'm coming here to run my, then it was a four yard dash and a L-drip. Like, you know what I'm saying?
Starting point is 00:15:58 Line work. Let's see how well you can move. You know what I'm saying? Your whole workout like an hour. But if you're doing that with just you and it could be like 10 of your other teammates that you played with, you know what I'm saying? At the combine, it's like 300 or 300-something athletes there.
Starting point is 00:16:15 It's like herding cattle, you know what I'm saying? You want to stand out. So I don't know if they punished him for not throwing at the combine. I don't know, like his whole pre-draft process, he was kind of like on his terms, but all quarterbacks do that, especially like quarterbacks projected to go high.
Starting point is 00:16:36 They all do it at their own school with their own receivers they've been throwing with, you know what I'm saying? And not just throwing out there with other receivers, you know what I'm saying? So not just throwing out there with other receivers, you know what I'm saying? So like his whole pre-draft, like I just think they was just, they wanted to punish him.
Starting point is 00:16:54 I don't think all of them thought he was gonna go where he went, like fifth, but I think it was kind of like universal. Like once he started to fall, it was just, he just kept falling into somebody like, oh, Shadour's still in, you know what I'm saying? So like why Cleveland would draft Dylan Gabriel and then come back and draft Shadour Sanders like,
Starting point is 00:17:19 like, I'm still trying to- That makes sense to me. Well, now he got an opportunity to prove all these people did bad. Yeah. Yeah. That's about the response for sure. How he respond.
Starting point is 00:17:34 Like Lamar did. Like, you can tell, like Lamar was real disappointed to go. I think he went 30. I think we jumped up and got, a 30 second, he went 30 second. Like I think he was disappointed, but he responded. You know what I'm saying?
Starting point is 00:17:55 He responded and he's two time MVP, he's supposed to be three but we can get into that. But I think like he responded. And I hope, like we really do hope Shador, like I really do hope that level of success. Not at Cleveland though, because they're in the same situation as Baltimore. I want them to light the motherfucker up.
Starting point is 00:18:19 I just don't want them to light us up. You know what I'm saying? I'm still emotionally attached to that team. You know what I'm saying? So, but if he lighted it up actually, like long as he don't like light up the Ravens, I'm cool. I'm cool.
Starting point is 00:18:36 You know what I'm saying? Don't miss the You vs. You podcast. Starting point is 00:19:08 of your dreams. Here's a sneak peek. I'm trained to go compete. I'm trained to be like harder, but sometimes that mentality stops you from stopping and smelling the flowers in your own garden. Is it wrong to want more? We migrated, our family migrated here. I'm like second generation. Listen to You Versus You as part of My Kultura podcast network,
Starting point is 00:19:29 available on the iHeartRadio app, Apple podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. 25 years, 25 players. Before training camp kickstarts a new NFL season, NFL Daily is going to look back. It is a special six episode series where myself, Greg Rosenthal and some of the top NFL minds like Kevin Harlan, Mina Kimes, and Bill Barnwell make the case for each player. We're taking a look back, giving you NFL Daily's top 25 players of the last 25 years.
Starting point is 00:20:03 So who made the list? You know Tom Brady's on it. Where's Patrick Mahomes? Mahomes is into the end zone! Touchdown, Kansas City! He's on it. How about Lamar Jackson? Jackson takes it himself.
Starting point is 00:20:15 Look at him dart back and forth. Oh, he broke his ankles and he's got a touchdown. He is Houdini. You are going to have to listen to find out, listen to NFL Daily's top 25 players of the last 25 years starting on June 30th on the iHeart radio app, Apple podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Speaking of Lamar, he recently said
Starting point is 00:20:40 that the game has gotten easier, is progressively gotten easier. He says, as I've been getting older in the league, my mindset has been different and the game has gotten a lot easier for me. Do you feel like that's a good thing to say should opposing defenses be afraid, the more is approaching the game with that mindset?
Starting point is 00:20:58 Nah, you know how we are. You think we are like, we're gonna be like, oh yeah, well, let's see how slow it's gotten for you. You know what I'm saying? Like, like, like, like, we ain't shy away from anybody. Nobody on defense is gonna shy away. They definitely don't see, well, we're gonna see how,
Starting point is 00:21:18 you know, slow the game's gotten. You know what I'm saying? I would think opposing defenses are gonna, like, they know, like, I'm facing Lamar Jackson. You know what I'm saying? I don't think opposing defenses are gonna, like, they know, like, I'm facing Lamar Jackson. You know what I'm saying? They know that going in. They know I'm facing Lamar Jackson. Like I said a few minutes ago,
Starting point is 00:21:33 ain't nobody worried about Kenny Pickett. You know what I'm saying? Nobody like, oh, man, I'm gonna have to hydrate more this week. You know what I'm saying? I'm facing Kenny Pickett. You know what I mean? But, like, Lamar, Lamar isar's like one of them players you like. How we gonna tame this dude? Like, you ain't your group techs, you know what I'm saying?
Starting point is 00:21:52 Hitting your teammates like, all right, look, man, like... We gonna have to send three-man rush with a spy or two spies or something at him, you know what I'm saying? Like, Lamar's not... I mean, excuse me. Lamar is not no normal, like, talent like that. You know what I'm saying? Like Lamar's not, I mean, excuse me, Lamar is not no normal like talent like that. You know what I'm saying? My son asked me today, like who was faster between Lamar Jackson and Michael Vick?
Starting point is 00:22:15 And I was like, I've never seen nobody, I've never seen a human move that fast as Lamar. Like Lamar could jog and be faster than the rest of us sprinting. You know what I'm saying? I've never seen anybody that fast. Like I didn't face stuff again. Fred Taylor, Chris Johnson, Michael Vick.
Starting point is 00:22:33 Like I said, everybody know that like Michael Vick was the Apex, like he was the prototype for that mobile quarterback, you know, being impetuous too, you know what I'm saying? But like Lamar, I just tell Lamar, I'm like, look dude, you gotta slow down. Like, man, we gonna pop hamstrings out here. Like we ain't facing no quarterback as fast as you. You know what I'm saying?
Starting point is 00:22:53 He's like, all right, sizzle, I got you, I got you. You know what I'm saying? He was jogging one time I was chasing him. You know what I mean? Like Lamar Jackson, he's never seen nothing like that. He never seen nothing like that. And he fast and sand too. Like, itar Jackson, he's never seen nothing like that. He never seen nothing like that. And he fast and sand, too. Like, it's ridiculous.
Starting point is 00:23:09 Lamar different. I got to make a correction from earlier in the show. It was Mason Rudolph that got the Whac-A-Mole. Okay. Okay. Whoo! I'm glad that it'd be an awkward first meeting in the locker room. Yeah, Mason Rudolph. I'm so glad.
Starting point is 00:23:26 He got whack-a-mole by Miles. So, Mano, you pulling up to any football games this year, man? You know, I go to football games, though. Are you? I do go. What you watching? But I usually go around some type of business, though. I got you. You know, I've been to Giants games.
Starting point is 00:23:48 I've been in the field. I've actually performed in the Giants games. That's fine. This is more or less when Saquon was there, maybe like two years ago. But football was never really my, my sport that like, like that, you know? Basketball guy?
Starting point is 00:24:10 Basketball, more boxing. Boxing, okay. Yeah, definitely boxing. All right, let's, hey, you know, I'm all about it. All the sports, what you think about Terrence Crawford, Bud Crawford, going to go? Yeah! What you got?
Starting point is 00:24:25 I mean, I'm very interested in this fight because it's like he really going up. And he's going up a lot, right? In his last fight, it was the Russian dude, right? Um, I don't know. That fight scared me. Yeah. That fight scared me because he didn't.
Starting point is 00:24:44 Because he moving up. He moving up and a lot of times when you move up. You get your ass, so like. But you don't have that speed a lot of times that you used to have him, you got to use to the weight, right? So why do they do that? Like why not have it at like a catch weight,
Starting point is 00:25:01 like I'll go up, but you got to come down. You know what I'm saying? We meet somewhere in the middle and fight there. that way, like, I'll go up, but you got to come down. You know what I'm saying? We meet somewhere in the middle and fight there. You know what I'm saying? I don't think Canelo is going to come down. He ain't going to come down. The Charlo twin, he like makes everybody come up to him. You know what I'm saying?
Starting point is 00:25:21 And in boxing, if you're not Floyd Mayweather, you only getting one payday fight, maybe two, if you're lucky, you know what I'm saying? I mean, it depends on who you fighting though. Right. So like the guy, so you think about, you think about like, Javontae Davis, the guy that fought Javontae, the last thing he wrote,
Starting point is 00:25:44 she probably got more money than ever. Right. Right? So you talk about, you know, in New York, you got a young guy come up out of Brooklyn called Edgar Belonga. You know, he's a young up and coming boxer, but he fought Canelo. He got more probably than he ever got.
Starting point is 00:26:06 Okay. What's Canelo fight at? 160? Huh? What's Canelo fight at? Canelo at what, middleweight? What was that 160? Yeah, somewhere around there.
Starting point is 00:26:16 He had around middleweight. Like yeah, why? Canelo went all the way up to like heavyweight. Like he just did that to the Trilogy. He made everybody come up to him. The way people talk about Bud Crawford is like- So who you got in the fight? I'm not- Who you got in the fight?
Starting point is 00:26:44 I want Bud to win, but like you said, he's going up. So remember, like, if Canelo Averna is fights at 160, 162, he'd probably walk around at like 170, 175. Like they say, Bud walks around at a higher weight than he usually fights at as well. But still, like- He's the only guy I got though. That's still a lot of weight.
Starting point is 00:27:14 He's going up, so I know Bud fight at 154 because they were talking about who's the better 154 fighter between him and Floyd. So Bud fights at 154. He got to go up to 160. And you know, like, he's gonna dehydrate himself to make weight for the fight or whatever, whatever they do, and then he's probably gonna lose weight.
Starting point is 00:27:35 Whereas, like, Canelo's gonna make his weight and go back up, you know? So they both might weigh in at 160, but come fight night, Bud might be back down 154, 156, and he go up to 170. You know what I'm saying? Like, in the football world, like- I got Bud.
Starting point is 00:27:58 Because I think- 240 to 230 is nothing. I think Bud going- You saying Bud going to do what? I think Bud going in there to box, not to try to knock Canelo out. I think you're going up to out box him. And like you just said, it's really like the last real blockbuster.
Starting point is 00:28:15 Yeah. This is gonna be the biggest fight of the year. Right. So in order, it was a draw that he can't get at 154. So he had to go up in order to get this, this pay-per-view, this heavy bag. I think Bud going in there to box, he real surgical.
Starting point is 00:28:30 He's a great counter puncher. Canelo, he got power, all that. And the weight could play a part, but Bud not going there to have a slugfest and go toe to toe. I think he going there to move around, work his jab and just win. On the-
Starting point is 00:28:44 You just said that makes a lot of sense if he fights that fight. Like if he fights the sticking and moving, beating him to the punch. Canelo is slick though. Yeah, Canelo is slick. Canelo is slick. Hell of a counterpuncher too.
Starting point is 00:29:00 Like, I did like, but Charlo, I don't like this fight for him. But Charlo didn't even fight, bro. Charlo didn't even really fight, bro. I feel like it was like, all right, I know I'm climbing uphill battle, let me get my back. But, no, but no, this ain't that. Bud going in the fight. I hope so, man. No, no, no, this ain't that. But going in the fight. I hope so, man.
Starting point is 00:29:26 Like, no, no, no, no, no. And then the September? But it's going in the fight, because he's ambitious. He's undisputed in like two weight classes. He wanted this. This is what he wanted. He didn't want nothing else. I think this is for him his trophy, right?
Starting point is 00:29:43 This is what he want to end on right this is it he don't want nothing else he ain't care he don't care about whatever javon say was saying he didn't care about what nobody else was saying welterweight 154 lower than that like he didn't care about none of that this is the trophy that he wanted this is what he want to do so he come in the fight he ain't coming he didn't care about none of that. This is the trophy that he wanted. This is what he wanted to do. So he coming to fight. He ain't coming just to get no money. You gotta add those to the resume.
Starting point is 00:30:11 Especially if you wanna be in that go conversation talking Floyd Mayweather, you have to have those names on your resume. Yeah, listen, he got a heavy resume, undisputed. Like, I mean, unified, like, he unified the belts. Come on, man. Like, I've been impressed after the Spence fight, really. Yeah, that's what I was gonna say.
Starting point is 00:30:33 He beat Earl Spence. He beat John Porter. How was the Super-Earl Spence fan? How was the Earl Spence fan? Everybody was. Like, Earl Spence, he fought, like... No, let's beence, he fought like- No, let's be honest, he beat the shit out of Dog.
Starting point is 00:30:47 Like, let's- He beat him, but- He beat the dog shit out of him. Like, we gotta be honest here. It was a great fight to watch, and I liked that it wasn't none of that bullshit, like pre-fight bickering. It was like, no, I respect, dude.
Starting point is 00:31:01 Like, it was a great fight. I'm going in there to win. You know what I'm saying? I love that aspect of it But I didn't expect oh boy to have like Like yeah, so I like he got the Earl Smith fight like does he have another big fight like I don't know like I'm He got the Earl Smith fight, does he have another big fight? I don't know, I'm drawing.
Starting point is 00:31:27 But he beats everybody's ass who gets in the ring with him. Did he fight, he fought Golovkin, didn't he? Oh no, that's Canelo, he doesn't fight enough because Golovkin's bigger, you know what I'm saying? Did he fight Triple G's? No, he didn't fight Triple G's, I'm- No, he didn't triple G. I don't know. I don't think so.
Starting point is 00:31:49 I think triple G is like that much bigger. I think triple G might be in light heavy. They around that same- Because triple G fought Canelo, I think they came down and fought at the 160, the 162, 163, something like that. But I haven't seen Triple G since then. But bottom line is this, boy's coming to fight, this ain't about no paycheck.
Starting point is 00:32:18 I don't believe it. No, I don't think it's about no paycheck, but. That's a fighting nigga. He coming, yeah, that's all he know. He coming, yeah. That's all he know how to do. Like his fight, like he's coming out. Yeah, he coming to fight. Like it's going to be a good fight.
Starting point is 00:32:32 It's the biggest fight in boxing right now. This is, this is it. This is, this is it. This is going to be the biggest fight. Until we get Tank and Shakur Stevenson. I don't know if that's really gonna happen. I don't think that's gonna happen either. They gotta get back with Roach.
Starting point is 00:32:53 I see Tank and Roach. Who is? Roach. That's the homie that had that four of them last time. Oh. Oh yeah, Tank, they doing a rematch. We gotta see that. We gotta see that.
Starting point is 00:33:05 Right, we gotta see, because I felt like he kinda had Tank number. No luck. It surprised me. He kinda had his number. Tough that kid, but you know Tank starts slow. Right, and he take a lot of punches. Yeah, Tank starts slow, and then once he got your timing,
Starting point is 00:33:22 once he know what you're doing, then knockouts coming. You know what I'm saying? The thing is this, right? What happens when he can't knock you out and you winning on points? That's the thing. You see what I'm saying? So you got a boss, it's a point game.
Starting point is 00:33:41 It's not always about the knockouts, it's about points. Yeah, that's how Floyd got all into it. Like Floyd, he got under your skin so much that you wanted to knock him out. And then you was too busy focused, like I'm being the first person to knock Floyd out and be the first person to knock Floyd out. And then Floyd in there putting them balls on you.
Starting point is 00:33:59 Like Floyd the best defensive fighter, like in boxing history, probably the best fighter of history, you know what I mean? In history, like his resume's crazy, you know what I'm saying? Like Floyd didn't make no mistakes, you know what I'm saying? Like the closest he got to get knocked out, like Shane Mosley caught him one time. Zab caught him too, Dave Brule, they did.
Starting point is 00:34:23 Zab caught him, yeah! That's right, Zab did catch him. Zab caught him too, Dave Brule. Zab caught him too. Yeah, that's right. Zab did catch him. Zab caught him too. Zab did catch him. I forgot about that. Floyd May hit with some shots. Some solid, Mike Donah, where they say these two got knocked out. He got hit with some shots.
Starting point is 00:34:39 He said, because remember during that time, Birdo and Pacquiao, all of them said, like, oh, Void was running. So he said, you know, Madonna, like, he wanted to give the crowd, like, a show. He wanted to stand in there and kind of, like, take... Oh, we seen him. Yeah. We seen him slug it out with a few guys. Like, you know, but his fight, more or less,
Starting point is 00:35:02 was a defensive fight. He always played the points. And sometimes that didn't always go well with the audience because they like to see blood. Like they want to see the blood, they want to see knocking, they want to see that. And when you're moving around a lot, like I personally don't like she called Steven's fights because it's too much of that.
Starting point is 00:35:23 It's too much, oh, okay. Too much of that, personally. We've seen the kid once, and I know, like, Tank, we expect the knockouts from Tank. Like, from what I hear from their division, that's like the fight they both need to take in age. So, in your mind, you want to see Tank and Chico, what about Haney?
Starting point is 00:35:47 Is Haney in that conversation anymore? Dem and Haney? I think so. One loss shouldn't take you out of a big fight. But that was a fight. That was a- That was an ass-whipping. Yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:36:03 It was pretty bad, but I don't know... I don't know who Demin Haney's gonna fight. Like, what, he gonna fight... He just fought someone. He just fought... Who he just fought? They said it wasn't an impressive fight, though. Who did he just fight? He just fought recently,
Starting point is 00:36:24 and they said it wasn't really an impressive fight before he hit New York. Yeah, like I don't know where Devin Haney like goes from here. Like does he try to fight the winner like these two? Bud and you know what I'm saying? I don't know where Devin Haney goes. No he's not in the area of Bud. No that ain't gonna happen.
Starting point is 00:36:45 No. That's a bud too big. No, that ain't gonna happen. What is, is Devon Haney, is he 154? 149? No, hell no. He's lower than that. He's small?
Starting point is 00:37:01 Yeah, yeah. Smaller than that. I don't know who he fights then, so I don't know where he goes. So that fight happened when he lost. That happened in New York, didn't it? No, he didn't lose in New York. He lost to Ryan Garcia.
Starting point is 00:37:18 I don't know where he fought at. With Vegas? Huh? Was that in Vegas? It might've been in Vegas, yeah. Yeah, I don't know where. He had another fight after that out here in New York. I wasn't here, but they fought in Times Square.
Starting point is 00:37:37 Yeah, I don't remember who it was. They said it wasn't an exciting fight. So what, did he go back and fight Ryan Garcia again? Oh no, I wouldn't. Yeah, I don't know if he wanted to do that. I think Ryan kind of had his number. Ryan was beating him to the punch. And I know they said that Ryan had enhancements and all that.
Starting point is 00:37:57 I don't know, but Ryan kept beating him to the punch with that one punch. That level. That level. That level. I'm like, dude, we all know it's like, he just kept over. with that one punch. That level. That level. That level. That level. I'm like, dude, we all know it's like, like he just kept over and like,
Starting point is 00:38:08 took himself. Ryan just lost to, what's his name? Little Spanish dude, that Fort Tank before. Damn, not cool. Oh, I know who you're talking about. Ryan just lost. He lost to him?
Starting point is 00:38:24 Yeah, yeah. Yeah, he beat the shit're talking about. Ryan just lost. He lost to him? Yeah, yeah. Nah, he beat the shit out of Ryan. Damn. Yeah. Keep it with the UFC, too? Yeah. Not right now. Keep it with the UFC, too, may know?
Starting point is 00:38:35 No, not really. Not really. I'm not. You, you, you, you, you know that? I do, I do. I've been to a couple in Vegas. It's a crazy atmosphere. Who's the guy right now?
Starting point is 00:38:47 Well, Bones Jones is the GOAT. Johnny Bones. He's the GOAT. He's the greatest. I ain't really been tapped in since McGregor. He was exciting. Have you ever been in a UFC fight? Nah.
Starting point is 00:39:00 You gotta go. Everybody goes to bed. Like, you know how it works... I watched him, though. You know how in boxing, we waiting on the knockout. And UFC is almost everybody is knocked out. It's guaranteed somebody going to sleep. It's guaranteed. Like, the atmosphere is crazy. Like, it is the, like, I ended up at the McGregor fight,
Starting point is 00:39:24 the one he lost to, tobeid from L.A. Not Khabib. You know, they brothers and they fight, you know, he told- Khabib. No, Khabib beat his ass. There's somebody else. There's somebody else he lost to and he came back to beat him. Yeah, a couple back to back losses though. Yeah. So I can't think of that guy's name, but I went to that fight and he ended up choking
Starting point is 00:39:53 McGregor out. Like that upset, loss, the atmosphere is straight up dope. It's like, you've been in the hood and you hear about, you know, two people got hands and like the hoods show up to see it. And they scratch. What was the female UFC fighter that they all was behind and then she got lost?
Starting point is 00:40:19 Ronda Rousey? Ronda Rousey, yeah. Ronda Rousey. Yeah, she got beat by Holly Holm. And then she ran up against that Brazilian, that Amanda Nunez. Amanda Nunez, I would probably think twice, like, if some shit jumped off and she...
Starting point is 00:40:35 She had beat Amanda before, back in the days, right? I don't know. I don't think so. I think Amanda Nunez had one loss. Yeah, I got to go back to that. And, um, yeah, Ronda Rousey was exciting. Don't know I don't think so. I think I'm in New York that one law Yeah, Ronda Rousey was exciting everybody was exciting but then One kick from Holly home change his life. It changed her life. She was never the same ever since that. Now she's in a WWE, I believe. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:41:11 Right. And somebody else said that that was exciting that I used to watch. He had a crazy accident though. He came popped out. What was his name? Silver? Oh, Anderson Silver.
Starting point is 00:41:25 Yeah, he like one of them. He like one of them Hall of Fame. accident though, his shin popped out, what was his name, Silver? Oh, Anderson Silver. Yeah, he like one of them, he like one of them Hall of Fame go- He like an OG of the situation now, right? Yeah. He, his whole shin bone came out. He was like, yeah, that's how, that was like a loss. He had had like set the record for consecutive like title defenses,
Starting point is 00:41:43 you know what I'm saying? Like Anderson Silver like was, he was like- He was the guy. The first Bones. Right, right, right, right, right. Remember, when Bones came out, he is a 6'5' dude. He was a physical mismatch to everybody he fought. And he beat everybody every type of way.
Starting point is 00:42:03 He'd knock people out, he'd kick people, he He knocked people out, he kicked people, he choked people out, he submission people. Like, Bones is no joke. Like, Bones is no joke. Like, you could probably, like, YouTube, some of Bones' fights. Like, Bones is, because, you know, I played with his brother.
Starting point is 00:42:23 I played with both of his brothers, actually. I played with Chandler and Art. I played with Art on the Ravens. We won Super Bowl together. And I played with Chandler here at the Cardinals. And they real fun as a family. You know what I'm saying? They just like your brothers.
Starting point is 00:42:43 You know what I'm saying? And I would ask Art, like, so who used to win y'all fights? And my, you know, Art, like, you know, I used to beat the shit out of this brother. I'm like, duh, that's far fetched, bro. Like I just don't see you beating that six four dude. And he know every fucking trick in the book, choke you out.
Starting point is 00:43:00 Like you imagine your little brother choking you out. Like, I ain't no talk that kind of that. But like Paul McCracken was that dude. Like they was very exciting draws. I think now it's like Israel had a sign. Like I haven't, I haven't like, I don't know who the new star is in UFC. So I don't know.
Starting point is 00:43:20 I haven't been here. I got to tap back in. Don't miss the you vs. You podcast. We migrated, our family migrated here.
Starting point is 00:44:10 I'm like second generation. Listen to You Versus You as part of My Kultura podcast network, available on the iHeart radio app, Apple podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. 25 years, 25 players. We're taking a look back, giving you NFL Daly's top 25 players of the last 25 years.
Starting point is 00:44:49 So who made the list? You know Tom Brady's on it. Where's Patrick Mahomes? Mahomes is into the end zone! Touchdown, Kansas City! He's on it. How about Lamar Jackson? Jackson takes it himself.
Starting point is 00:45:01 Look at him dart back and forth. Oh! He broke his ankles! And he's got a touchdown. He is Houdini. You are going to have to listen to find out. Listen to NFL Daily's top 25 players of the last 25 years, starting on June 30th on the I Heart Radio app, Apple podcast or wherever you get your podcasts.
Starting point is 00:45:24 All right, tap back in. Go ahead. Tell it. Tell it. Jones was different, man. You know, I'm still on the page. He was fucking pass rush technician. Longest arms in the world.
Starting point is 00:45:38 Man, like, like, like, like, he don't like doing anything else. He don't like dropping in pass coverage. He only wanted to do one thing. He was surgical at it. That long arm, like he was like one of those, those baseball players that caught a shot, like, yo, I'm fitting to hit it right there. Like he used to say it all during the week,
Starting point is 00:46:01 like, yo, I'm fitting to use this move. And he'll get in the game and do it. I'm like, dog, I can never do that. Like half of the shit I week, like, yo, I'm going to use this move and he'll get in the game and do it. I'm like, I can never do that. By having a shit I did, like it was like reacting. You know what I'm saying? Like I didn't plan on doing it. I just ended up doing it. You know what I'm saying?
Starting point is 00:46:13 But like, like he was a fast rest technician, man. Like, like, dude was dude was real good. Like dude still is good. Yeah, your play style is good. Yeah. Your play style was different T-Sizzle. Yeah. I remember in Baltimore and you like, not even, you don't even have a stance for real.
Starting point is 00:46:33 As I'm studying players, I'm looking at, all right, inside foot back, four point, two point. Bro, you would literally be standing straight up, talking, telling the defense, hey, watch this one, ball snapper, you just like up. I gotta be able to see everything. I always, oh, what? Like, I wanna say what happened while I started standing,
Starting point is 00:46:55 I was like in a three point stance and Jemmichael Finley motioned in and cracked me. I mean like cracked me, like the cracking ball cracked. I mean like, cracked me. Like the crack block cracked. I was like, oh, I ain't getting no stands no more. I need to be able to see everything. Like more fucking- No.
Starting point is 00:47:14 That one crack block made you stand up. I was like, all right, I gotta start standing. I gotta be able to see. I gotta be able to see. He like cracked the fuck out of me. And like, I used that to threaten Hines Ward. I'm like, Hines, I swear you come down here with that bullshit, I'm fucking you up.
Starting point is 00:47:29 Like, we ain't playing football no more. I used that to threaten Hines Ward, like pre-snap. And he was still trying, you know what I'm saying? Like, them Baltimore, them Raven Steelers games used to, like, I don't know, like all of us would be suspended now for them games, like how we played, like the shit that they don't allow now that they allow back then, like right now, like all of us would be playing for free.
Starting point is 00:47:57 They'd be finding us like, no, we got suspended a couple of games because it used to be real in them Raven Steelers games, but now like it's just, it's still a rivalry. It's just not as physical. You know what I'm saying? But during that time, that window with y'all, it was a heavyweight fight every time.
Starting point is 00:48:18 Like, it was a heavyweight fight. It was hard to match, man. We was in there. It was like,'re playing against a team that your identities match. You got the legendary Baltimore defense, you got the legendary Steele-Curton defense. You know what I'm saying?
Starting point is 00:48:40 Come on, man. If you look at the rosters of all-time players from Ravens and ros Ross's all-time Steelers is like, it's like identical. You know what I'm saying? Like, you know, even Rob Woodson, he wasn't Raven for a short time, but people know him as a Steeler. You know, we got Ed Reed, they got Paolo Malu.
Starting point is 00:48:57 You know what I'm saying? Like, they had Mike Taylor, we had Chris McAllister. Like, the teams, man, like it's crazy. It's crazy, but you know, you don't really get that no more. You don't really get that no more. Do you think it's because it's so much, is it more movement now from season to season, players going from different-
Starting point is 00:49:20 No, I think it's more business structure. Like I think they want the game to grow kind of like the NBA. Like they want it to be in all the homes and all the countries. You know what I'm saying? Like NBA is like one of the fastest growing sports like worldwide, you know, besides soccer and baseball, of course, you know what I'm saying? So I think they want the NFL going to say they want touchdown. So it's kind of the defense is playing
Starting point is 00:49:48 with one hand behind their back. So to say, you know, you can't touch, you can't do this. Like it's a lot of rules. You know what I'm saying? Like, and then really they benefit the offense because they want to see touchdown. So I think that's why the game, that's one of the reasons why the game is like high flying
Starting point is 00:50:04 now, the past happy offense, you know what I'm saying? Other reason is NFL is cheap and they don't want to pay for none of us because after we get done playing, we're all fucked up, bodies and limbs and shit. So they're like, oh, we're going to try to make the game less dangerous, less hazardous to the body.
Starting point is 00:50:24 But you run it into another person, another man, you know what I'm saying, 100 miles an hour, every play. You can't prevent that. The injury rate in the NFL every year is 100%. You know what I'm saying? Somebody's gonna get hurt. So I don't know why, they just try to be cheap about it, but I don't know., like they just, they just try and be cheap about it. But I don't know.
Starting point is 00:50:47 That's just my take. What do I know? Before we wrap up, T-Sizzling, let me get up out of here. ESPN lists the best NFL draft pick ever at every slot from one to 262. You were the 10th overall pick in 2003. 75th overall pick in 2013. We both count come in second place on
Starting point is 00:51:14 his list. Okay, so one of you is Patrick Mahomes. He was 10. So they got him as the number one 10th overall pick and is Russell Wilson got him as the best 75th pick Over you Only so yeah, we both finished runner-up which how you feel about that? You think they got it right got it wrong I think they got mine's right. The only case they have against Russell Wilson is that he got some boring like like they have against Russell Wilson is that he got some boring. Like, like, I think it was part of argument. He don't have any all pros. I have one. I'm not. He got I got five. He doesn't think I don't
Starting point is 00:51:55 have a ring. I think that's probably like like I said, I think. Remember, like, office alignment or the Secret Service, Y'all got the toughest job in the world and don't get any credit for it. You know what I'm saying? Like, y'all can play 200 snaps, give up a sack, and then they like, oh, you're the liability. You know what I'm saying?
Starting point is 00:52:19 But like, quarterbacks, remember, it's got, they kiss babies. You know what I'm saying? They're always on TV. You know, the game is, I light it by the quarterback. You know what I'm saying? So, you know, it's a quarterback driven league. So that's why I think they will put that over you. But you-
Starting point is 00:52:39 I'm sorry about that fellas. We understand, numbers don't lie. No, you was talking about the draft pick, but I got a question for Meno, though. You know what I'm saying? T.A., can I ask him? Or do we got time? So, come on.
Starting point is 00:52:56 So, you know New York is, they call it the Mecca of basketball. New York City point guards. Give me your top five, all time New York City point guards. Bernard King. He from New York City? Yeah, he played on the Knicks. I know he played on the Knicks.
Starting point is 00:53:17 Is he from New York? He from New York. Okay. Stephon. I knew you were gonna say that. Brooklyn, Lincoln. Lincoln, definitely. Okay. Stefan. I knew you were gonna say that. Brooklyn, Lincoln. Lincoln, definitely. Let me help you out.
Starting point is 00:53:37 Whoa, what you got? So I heard Rod Strickland. Rod Strickland? I heard Rod Strickland. Rod Strickland. I heard Rod Strickland was off the chain, but the names, the two names I hear most is Guy Shamgaard. That's my guy. And Kenny Anderson. I mean.
Starting point is 00:54:01 I heard Kenny Anderson was like. Shamgaard is my guy, definitely. But it's so much more. I mean, we got, this is New York City, it's the biggest baby. We got playground legends, man. You know what I mean? But like, I've never seen like, you know, high school footage of Rod Strickland.
Starting point is 00:54:22 Everybody's seen Stephon because he had the Iverson. They had that kind of rivalry inickland. Everybody's seen Stefan because he had the Iverson. They had that kind of rivalry in high school, you know, was the number one point guard that time. So, you know, everybody know about Stefan Mulberry. And it's like a rumor that the movie he got gained was like actually about him. You know what I'm saying? It was loosely based.
Starting point is 00:54:43 Right, yeah, I think it was loosely based on him. I think it was loosely based on Stephon Mulberry. I think it was, I think so. I heard Rod Strickland was just phenomenal, but I keep hearing Kenny Anderson was like, I reheard before that kind of ball was like- The Bernard King, though. That's a little bit older than me.
Starting point is 00:55:05 That's a long time ago, but what I'm saying, you talking about me, yo, you gotta go all the way. All the way? I mean, and far as the point guard, I know Kareem from New York, you know what I'm saying? Kareem? Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, ain't he from New York? He wasn't no point guard.
