If you've got five players and you offer immunity to four, you better be right about the Fed. Because if you're not, then you've just given immunity to your killer. Listen to Faultline Haditha on the IHeart Radio app. Apple Podcasts or wherever you get your podcasts. Jonathan Cominga has agreed to a two-year $12.4 million deal with the Timberwolves. Part of the Minnesota Pitch of Cominga will fill the vacant starting roll forward alongside Ant Man, the Melo Ball, Jane Daniels, and Rudy Gober on an established Western Conference.
Starting point is 00:02:51 Joe, Golden State, he didn't play well. Atlanta, he didn't play well. Minnesota team, will they be the team that gets the best? because remember he turned out like what a $48 million deal from from a golden state he's bet on himself every location he's been is it finally time now that Jonathan Kaminga the bet that he's placed on himself is it finally going to pay off I didn't think Kaminga played bad for the Hawks I just think in the times that we really needed him he couldn't really come through but he showed flashes of brilliance to where you know you like damn like he looks like he could be a great cornerstone for a team I like him going to Minnesota.
Starting point is 00:03:31 I think they have a bunch of guys who've been, you know, tested and want to come out and prove guys wrong, especially without having him in the lineup, you miss that element of a two-way player. Camingo is great, dog. I think if he buys into the role, Uncle Ocho, and being somewhat of a Swiss Army knife, it's going to be nice where you get 16 shots.
Starting point is 00:03:51 Hell, it's going to be nice where you probably ain't going to get by eight. You know what I mean? But your energy and effort has to be a constant. night in and night out because that's what their team the Minnesota Timber was going to need from him. They're going to need for him to do a little bit of everything. Guard some of the best players, they'll rebound, playmate, score at times,
Starting point is 00:04:10 and you got to hope he buys in. If he buys in, I think he has a talent to help him get over the hump. And that's the only problem. You know, he's just got to buy into the system. Oh, Joe, you like it? You like Kamingo going to Minnesota? There was speculation that he might end up joining the Lakers being their starting.
Starting point is 00:04:29 being this starting lineup, alongside Luca, Walker, Walker Kessler, I don't know who the other guys are going to start, but many people thought he was going to end up with the Lakers. Now we know Jonathan Kaminga is now on a two-year deal, one plus one with the Minnesota Timberwolves. I mean, I like it. I like it. I just, I don't know why he struggled so much.
Starting point is 00:04:52 I'm not sure why he can't find a place and right can't find a home, you know, be a starter. and I thought it was really good, especially for him to be making the noise that he made when he was with the Warriors and wanting to be, wanting to have a bigger role. And the fact that he can't stick,
Starting point is 00:05:09 it's just, it's confusing to me. It's confusing to me. So I think when you bounce around like this, I think it does some to your confidence. When you really think you're a little better than what others view you as, I think you can take a toll on you. I think you can take a toll on you.
Starting point is 00:05:23 So hopefully this sticks, you know, for him. And he's found. Think about this, though. Okay, Ocho. That backline defense they got with Jayden, with Jayden Daniels, Jayden Daniels, Rudy, and Kaminga. Man, defensively,
Starting point is 00:05:41 I think they're going to be a monster defensive, especially I'm talking about when you're playing against the upper echelon team, meaning the OKCs, the Spurs, man, they got some talent where they can really compete with the best. I mean, hell, if you're Minnesota, boy, you, hey, you're lucky to get Kaminga.
Starting point is 00:05:57 I mean, that's a void. that you feel, and I think he's going, I mean, you can insert him right away, a guy who's always in shape. The only thing he just has to buy into the system. Yeah. I think now he's probably looking back to say, man, I probably should have took that three-year deal, $48 million from the Golden State Warriors.
Starting point is 00:06:18 It's kind of like Dennis Schrooter. Remember he had that four-year deal for $80-something million from the Lakers, and now he's been on 19th in the last two and a half years. I think a little, the thing that's a little different for Kaminga, I don't think he wanted to even stay in Golden State, so him turned down that 40-something million. Like that was like, man, I can get that, you know, whenever. I think he's banking on himself now.
Starting point is 00:06:45 Let's say he go to Minnesota, let's say they do make it to the finals. Hell, you know what I mean? On a two-year deal, you make room for improvement and you'll still be able to get a long-term deal. It may not be from Minnesota here, but you still got other, what, 31 teams who watch her? Yeah. I think the thing for him, Joe, he could not get out of his head like, Steph. You're like, man, I can ball. You know, because sometimes you get caught up in a situation like, man,
Starting point is 00:07:11 y'all let him shoot bad shots. But anytime I take a shot, y'all looking at me sideways, y'all snatch me out of the game. Yeah, he's Steph. Steph can take bad shots. There ain't enough bad shots. Steph can take the first Steve Curtis snatch him out of the ball game. You take one or two bad shots. They call the time out. You coming out of the game. It's a pecking order when you go to some of these teams. Obviously, playing in Golden State, it's a pecking order. Steph going to get the first right to refuse. It don't matter what type of damn shot he takes.
Starting point is 00:07:39 He can shoot whenever he wants to. It ain't going to be much different in Minnesota. It mayn't going to shoot when he wants to. The great thing about Minnesota, the great thing about Minnesota is that La Mello ball, he can score, but he's a past first point guard. So he'll be able to get those guys involved. he'll be able to get comminga easy buckets he'll be able to get mcdaniels easy buckets rudy easy buckets so i think that's what a win right there because nowadays if you're a point
Starting point is 00:08:06 guard yeah you lead you lead your team in scoring you know i mean lamello isn't like that i think he's going to be a great addition for minnesota i love the commingo pick up i think the timbre walls are trending in the right direction yeah i think the thing is people don't realize how easy step make it for him though. When Steph is on the court, he makes it easy for everybody because he draws so much attention. Look at Jordan Poole the numbers he's putting up when he played with Stella. Right. Yeah, we. You got, bro, you are, you are a secondary option. They ain't nobody they ain't put you in the game playing. They put the number 30 in the game playing. They try to stop they're trying to stop, they're trying to stop you. So you're going to get his easier looks
Starting point is 00:08:48 that you're ever going to get. He gets all the attention and he's most dangerous when he doesn't have the ball. Okay, Ojo. Stephanie. So teams know that. So yeah, man, you're going to play it with a guy like that? Hey, you're always going to get some easy looks. Draybont Green appeared to shade. His former teammate Clay Thompson after Clayside with the Heat.
Starting point is 00:09:09 Let's take a listen. I don't like how everybody's trying to act like, oh man, it's Clay Thompson, like Clay to the Heat. Like, this is Clay of 2018. The reason I would like it is because I feel like everybody's trying to set Clay up for failure. And so I'm going to say it right here right now. Let's stop acting like 2017 as Clay is going to Miami. I wish sports media would speak to it more like when Ray Allen went to Miami. Like that's the role I'd expect to Clay.
Starting point is 00:09:39 Don't try to set my brother up like you're about to get to 2017 Clay so the moment you don't y'all can bash him. That's he's going to year 16 of his career. We obviously know the interviews that he's face. Yes, he is going to go provide shooting because he shoot the lights out the ball. and when he's 60, he'll be able to shoot the lights out the ball. But don't try to build it up. Like, oh, man, look what happened so that y'all can tear him down
Starting point is 00:10:06 where he's not averaging 20 points a game. That's what media does, and I don't like that. Hey. Joe, what you thinking? I wonder who you're talking about as far as media because ain't nowhere in hell. I thought Clay was going to go over there, an average 20, Ocho.
Starting point is 00:10:21 I think just by him being on the court with Janus and Bam, making teams be honest, you know, not leaving him. Yeah, he's going to knock down some shots. And Draymond is right. It's more of the Ray Allen effect, him going to Miami. Like, they ain't going to get Clay the ball
Starting point is 00:10:37 and he'd go out there and bop, and he's going to be averaging in 2019, that ain't going to happen. I ain't never thought that. But to have him on a team, when you got Janice and Bam, who's going to eat up a lot of space and create up and create a lot of different opportunities,
Starting point is 00:10:51 you need a guy like Clay on your team. I think he fits right in. I ain't never, I mean, I don't know how you guys feel, but I don't think he's going there to pull up no damn monster numbers. I think he's going to be a great piece to a puzzle. Yes. Dre didn't stop there. He also questioned if Clay fits heat culture.
Starting point is 00:11:09 Let's take a listen to this. And he was late to the introductory press conference because he was stuck in Miami traffic. That is Clay Thompson. Now, I found it interesting when I saw, they said Clay going to Miami. And I was like, oh, that heat culture thing. I don't know how that's going to work for Clay because Clay moves to the beat of his own drum. Clay does what Clay does.
Starting point is 00:11:33 And it's no maliciousness to it. It's just who Clay is. And I want to see how that fits into the heat culture stuff. I tell you what. I tell you what. Clay better get his ass in gear. I'm telling you. Pat ain't playing all that, man.
Starting point is 00:11:49 He ain't, look, the small duration in time that I was there. I never seen them show favoritism and everybody. When I say everybody, Uncle Ocho, everybody showed up not on time. Hell, if you're on time, you're late. You know what I'm saying? Like way before time.
Starting point is 00:12:06 I'm serious, bro. Like, it's a real thing. I hear what Draymond is saying that Clay moves to the beat of his own drum. Hell, no. It's not going to happen, bro. You mean to tell me practice at 10, you're trying to say Clay going to be coming in there at 10? Man, that ain't happening, bro.
Starting point is 00:12:26 They don't move like that. They don't work like that. Boy, the thing is that these guys, and the fact is that, you know, you hear, you know, Dreyvon say he moved to the own drum and played, you know, how he does, he culture.
Starting point is 00:12:40 I just laugh. When I see some of these guys show up late and be late for meetings, I was like, that issue never fly with Mike. Hey. Because he view it's disrespectful. He said because it's like,
Starting point is 00:12:57 like everybody's here on time with you. Why is your time more important than everybody else's? Good question. That's what that's, that's, that's one of my pet peeves. It's being late. Had a, uh, had a friend of mine that was late to date. I don't know his name, Jordan. But Shelley, shelly gave the wrong information.
Starting point is 00:13:21 He was late because shelly gave the wrong information. I will say that it was Shelly's wrong. Shelly gave the wrong information. I'm downstairs in the lobby, Joe. I'm like, okay, I text him, he ain't text back. I said, bro, you gotta catch an Uber. I'm gone. He comes to find out.
Starting point is 00:13:43 He made show he threw Shelling for the bus, quit. He's like, look your, look your boss. Hey, she said 12, she said 12, she said 125. It was 1225. He forgot the two, but she owned up to it. Yeah, yeah, that's, that's a, but it just goes. But Draybony, you dryness on that man. You make it see like the man be late for a lot of stuff too though.
Starting point is 00:14:09 Hey, hey, when you win, oh hell, you know, they let a lot of go, they let a lot go now. They get, hey, hold on. No, hell, they don't. Hey, he was in Golden State. Them, them boy won four titles. I'm sure he got away with a lot now. You're right.
Starting point is 00:14:24 But I'm gonna tell you what, we went back to back title the mic shone and wasn't having that. He fired the hell out of you. And you keep coming late, you're not going to be here. You're not going to be here, guys. And listen, hey. You, you, you know what, and that's the thing. Accountability is huge because you never accept anything in a win that you wouldn't have lost.
Starting point is 00:14:48 And what happens is that because you're good, you start winning. Now all of a sudden, Joe, you start losing. Now that's the issue. You late. That's why we lose it. No, no, no, no, no. You didn't say anything when I was winning. Right.
Starting point is 00:15:02 You didn't say the reason why we're winning is because I'm late. But now because we're losing, it's the issue. Correct negative behavior. There are certain things you need correction to regardless because you never reward negative behavior. My girlfriend always said, boy, he said, boy, a kid acting food. He said, you don't reward negative behavior. He's crying and you jump down there and you got buying candy.
Starting point is 00:15:28 Or you give him an ice cream. Jump down there and shut down on his ass. You'll get up. Lesson learn. Lesson learn. Oh, Joe, you got the guy that you wanted. You said Clay was going to Miami. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:15:43 It seems like he does thing to his own beat. And everybody thinking that Clay is going to average 20, 22 points a game like he did prime. No, no, listen, we understand we're not getting Golden State Clay. We are right. We need him because the spacing. the spacing is going to be so phenomenal for Clay to be able to hit his shots. We just need you coming out.
Starting point is 00:16:06 Just like Ray Allen and Ray Allen was here. What did Ray Allen? He had some key shots and key moments. Now, I'm not saying we're going to be in the finals or be, you know, playing for something like that, but we're going to be okay. And there's one more move that might happen too. What?
Starting point is 00:16:21 Yeah, oh, you try to talk about they going to get Carrie because that's been the kind of the buzz. Hold on, hold on, hold on, hold on, hold on. There's one more move that might happen too. the greatest handler of the basketball, the wizard, the magician himself. Hey.
Starting point is 00:16:39 Huh? Uncle. You know what I ain't know. That trade would make no sense. If I'm the Mavericks, because you're not winning, you're not winning no championship with just no,
Starting point is 00:16:48 no, no, no, Cobra flag. And I think he's going to be a phenomenal player. But if you think that's all you need, I don't know if you'll make the playoffs again. I don't know if you'll make the playoffs.
Starting point is 00:16:57 I don't know if you make the playoffs with you just put the flag. They need Kyrie. Hold on. Even with Carrie, they're going to struggle to be a playoff team. But sure. In the West. Hey, well, if you're going to struggle with him and you're going to struggle without him, go on and hit him.
Starting point is 00:17:14 Come on down here. We'll be talking about. But when it happened, just know who said it first. All right. I'm anxious to see how he's going to look, how trade's going to look. I think he can shoot the ball. But like you said, and I think the thing is with Trey, I mean, Clay.
Starting point is 00:17:36 Excuse me, Trey. With Clay, Clay, if that is tough when you've competed for championships and then you go to a team and Lucas's not there anymore, AD got traded, and you realize you don't have any chance. Yep. Of making the playoffs, of both of the NBA finals. It does something to you when that's been your expectation, especially for the last eight years, you want, you know,
Starting point is 00:18:00 you've been to the final six times, you've won four of those, and now all of a sudden, probably by mid-November, you're like, yeah, yeah, we're not going to be. He ain't got to do no heavy lifting, though, he's going to be good. True.
Starting point is 00:18:16 Hey, I'm Ruby Carr, the host of the podcast, Encore. Check out our brand new episodes featuring music from the show that everyone is reheating as we speak. Heated rivalry. Each week, we talk to someone in show business, aka the biz, and try to help them with their careers and see what they have to offer us. Everyone has a good time and no one gets mad at their publicists for letting them do our show. We've had a lot of great guests like Sarah Sherman, not that great. Actually, can you help me shape this? How about we flip it on his
Starting point is 00:19:15 head, right? How about we flip the script? What is the surprise woman? Actually, you think is the straight man is actually the one who's acting weird. Adam Scott, this entire time, you've been expecting Adam Sandler to come to visit the show. I would never expect. I have. I would never set expectations for something like that to happen. If the universe allows for something like that to happen, I'm open to it. I'm always going to accept. You know, Danny McBride, fine.
Starting point is 00:19:49 Yeah, it's all this fragile masculinity exuding. I could smell it walking down the hallway, to be honest with you. I was like, I was like, is that weed? Nope, it's fragile masculinity. Ben Stiller, no. Because a lot of times out of context, people don't get it or even know what a circle is. You know what I mean? They're like, oh, what's a state.
Starting point is 00:20:09 Everyone's so dumb except for you. And fake. Right, fake and also not interested or just like, oh, I've got my life. I don't care about your life. And a lot of other big shots that wouldn't be where they are without us. Oh, and by the way, Will Ferrell told us personally he loves the show and he wants to be a guest on every episode, but he's just so busy. Listen to Hollywood Handbook on the IHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. On the new podcast Solita, we share the messy reality of traveling alone as a woman.

But to the people who grew up here, it's everything. What happens when a quiet Tennessee town becomes the front line in a battle over the future of America? Developers with right-wing ties have purchased hundreds of acres of land in the area. The first thing you see when it pops up is pioneers in Appalachia. But they weren't just planning how to.
Starting point is 00:22:57 We need cities on a shining hill that exemplify and embody the Christian way of life. Stop right there. Is that normal? A podcast about what happens when a small town becomes the site of a social experiment. God need bad to rule. Great. And decides to fight back. Do not use my hard work to sell your bull. They're not just opposing what's being planned for here. Our hometown is not a test tube.

All right, we have three video voicemails from my Discord.
Starting point is 00:23:58 Let's take a listen to the first one. Hey, what's going on, Nightcap, man? Hey, listen, hey, Unka and Ocho, I got a quick question for y'all first. What do y'all think is the best defense. all time. You got the 76 Steelers, the 85 bears, the 2,000 Ravens. I know I'm probably going to be a little biased on that one. You also got the 2002 buccaneers, and then you got the Legion of Boom. And Iso, I got a start bench or a cut for you. I think this one's a good one for you. You got Jagget, Jagged Edge, Jodicey, or Drew Hill. Let me know.
Starting point is 00:24:37 Yo, you want to go first? Yeah, I'll go first. I'm going, Jodicy, Jagged is through here. Come on, man. It ain't got me. There ain't no right. Come on, no, come on. Don't do that.
Starting point is 00:24:55 Tell me what you want. Tell me what you need. Yeah. You cut him? For jagged edge and Jodicy? For jacket edge and Jodicy? Sh. Okay, okay, okay, okay.
Starting point is 00:25:10 My bad. My bad. Well, on to that next question, Uncle Joe. Yeah. Ain't nobody seeing that 2000 of Ravens. Yeah. Them 85 billion, I mean, 2002, no, 20, what, 2012 Legion of Boom? 20, yes.
Starting point is 00:25:26 There ain't nobody seeing them Ravens, man. For me, for me, Ocho, I think you got to win it. For me, you have to win the championship. The problem is that the 76 Steelers, as greater that defense was, they didn't win the championship. What people don't realize is that if you go back and look at it, the 86 bears, statistically, was better than the 85 bears. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:25:48 If you go back and look at those numbers, when they got 72 sacks and they got 31 picks and you look at what they were accomplished, you're like, oh, my God. But nobody remembers. That just goes to show you how great the 76 Steelers was. Because the 76 Steelers, they won 74, 75, and they lost the championship. They lost the AMC championship. if I'm not mistaken in 76, might have been to the Raiders.
Starting point is 00:26:17 They might have lost the championship. I think they lost to the Raiders. And then they lose again in 77, and then they win back to back in 78, 79. So that's where you get the Dynasty 4 in 6 years. 2,000 Ravens, I'm biased. Yes, you're absolutely right. So even if you throw the 2012 Legion of Boone,
Starting point is 00:26:39 you throw the 02 buck and. I ain't taking nobody because I saw it with my own two eyes. There's something to be said about something you witness for yourself. That's why, you know, watching Barron Sanders, I think he's one of the five greatest players that I've ever seen play with my own two eyes. Watching him. I mean, you can watch him on, you can watch him on TV. It's like, oh my God, Barry is unbelievable.
Starting point is 00:27:01 But to see him in person and to see how he jump, start, cut, start, stop. You had to see it. To see Jerry play to see LT and to see Reggie and to see Jerry to see Tom Something you got to see for yourself. Let's take a listen to our second one Balcony Slayer Liberty City Lizard back dojo Now I'm just playing. This Ronnie Hardaway. Look, fellas Iso played in Atlanta for too long for us to be calling them back dojo We're going to give our big cousin a name he can't get rid of, a nickname he can't get rid of.
Starting point is 00:27:46 So I propose we stall him out on bad dough Joe only if he sit down with Uncle club, Shay, Shay, like Ocho did. He owe us that. Ocho did it. We know Aunt Story. He tell it every night on Nightcap. We've got to know Joe story. It don't make you no bad, brother, if you don't do it.
Starting point is 00:28:07 But we just going to keep calling you bad door if you don't. No, you. Yeah, Joe. I'm just saying that's what the people want. The people won't that. That's what the people want, huh? The people want you to sit down on club, Shayshay.
Starting point is 00:28:21 Does have a conversation with, you ready? You ready. We'll talk about it. We'll talk about it. We'll get the people with what they want. We'll get people what they want. We'll talk about it. Oh, that's what I need to hear.
Starting point is 00:28:31 That's what I need to hear. All right, let's take a listen to our final one. Oh, Cho, and still, King, I so. AKA back though Joe. But look, shout out to the whole Nightcap fam, Ash, Jordan, the editing team, the graphics team. The whole Nightcap fam, I appreciate
Starting point is 00:28:51 y'all for using one of my video voicemails in the last week's segment of the Q&A. I just wanted to get on here and say, man, I'm a big supporter, like I said. Oh, you like LeBron. Where you go, we go, baby. Hey, but I love the Nightcap fam. I, so you don't got me food, brother.
Starting point is 00:29:08 Because I know you. And I know when you got something, bro. I know it. And it's okay, you are a freak, man, because guess what? That won't make you no bad, brother. But I love y'all, man. Shout out to the whole big three, man. It's no surprise y'all number one, man.
Starting point is 00:29:21 Keep it up. Hey, hold on. Hold on. Joe, everybody know that about you, Joe. Everybody know that. Man, y'all must have to dig through them damn voice notes to find that. Come on, man. Come on, Ash.
Starting point is 00:29:33 What we doing, Ash? It don't make you no bad brother, Joe. Hey. You still, oh, Joe. Joe, you still, number three, you're a member of the Nightcare family. I tell you what, hey, Joe, you're number one in my book. Yeah. Hey, I ain't never been around some, some Casbro who want me to be the freaky dude in the room.
Starting point is 00:29:55 I don't understand. Oh, no, I want to talk about that, Joe. I'm just saying like you're number one, like you might, you my dog. Yeah, you're number one. I don't care what they say about you. I told him at the barbershop. I was dad and said, man, what Joe? I said, man, what's Joe like?
Starting point is 00:30:08 I said, Joe, my favorite car if you don't ever crank a game. That's what I like. Hey, that's him. Hey, hey. He's not locked. Ain't got no injure. But that's still my favorite car. Hey, y'all got a chill, bro.
Starting point is 00:30:20 Y'all got a chill, chat. Chad, they got a chill, chat. They're doing way too much. It feels like y'all doing way. Listen, I ain't never going to be number one on no damn scale that y'all on, okay? Joe, that's you, Joe. Hey, Joe. We'll be talking about basketball.
Starting point is 00:30:37 all that. I'm glad you know you ain't number one then. Hey, hey, boy. Hey, Ocho, you better be in the gym every day getting them jumpers up. That's all I need. That's. I am. I am. I am. Joe, don't worry about it. I'm going to be sharp, boy. Robert McDaniel, Beth. Good evening and big three. Today is my birthday. Can I get a happy birthday? Shout out. This will make my day complete. Been watching pod since 2024. I enjoy the stories and conversations thanking you in advance. Absolutely. Robin. Happy birthday.
Starting point is 00:31:12 Wow. Tell us what you did. Did you do anything fun? Did you really enjoy your birthday? Look, I know it's another day, another trip around the sun, and you feel very, very fortunate. But did you get out with your girlfriend,
Starting point is 00:31:23 your significant other, your husband? Did he take you out to do something fun? Did you really, really enjoy this birthday? We hope you did, and hopefully spending it with us tonight. Oh, congrats on sports media power ranking number six, way too low. We need to get to you to number one. All of your subs can pitch in $5,000
Starting point is 00:31:47 and we can buy an NFL team and not them bum-ass bingles. Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, not too much of my bangles, but damn. Man, look here, we got to put, yeah, we're pitching $5,000 to buy the NFL team. It might take a little bit more than that to get one of the thieves. 5,000.
Starting point is 00:32:11 Yeah, but, you know, We wouldn't be able to get no pleas. No, 5,000 times 2 million. How much is that, Joe? Oh, Cho. That might be enough. Enough or what? We get a percentage.
Starting point is 00:32:26 What's 5,000 times 2 million? Man, they'll laugh at us and turn us around. I don't know what you are put in his phone. Yeah, we can. It's 10, oh, yeah, we can buy the big. No, the Bengals are the least valuable franchise. out there at 7.4. Hey, we're talking about least valuable at 7.4 billion.
Starting point is 00:32:55 But that's 10 billion. If all the sums gave 5,000, that's 10 billion. I don't know if you've seen them prices, but I don't even know if you can buy NFL franchise for less than $13 billion. Cowboys worth $15.5 billion, and then the Rams and the Giants, like 12. I mean, the Falcons 9.8, the Broncos, like 9.7.
Starting point is 00:33:18 you're not buying an NFL franchise I don't know when the next NFL franchise is going to become available it's probably going to be one of those in Seattle or Las Vegas not Seattle I'm talking about thinking basketball
Starting point is 00:33:33 I don't know when it's I don't know what you know what you know they're talking about overseas somebody overseas is going to probably spend $14, $15 billion yeah I don't I don't know when the next NFL franchise is going to become available but when it does
Starting point is 00:33:51 it's going to be way north of 10 billion. It's going to be 12, 13, 14 billion. Look at the revenue that's going up, Ocho, every year. And they get new revenue streams. The Netflix are involved now. But Amazon that are involved, they're sitting on hoard. They're sitting on $200 billion in cash. Cash.
Starting point is 00:34:16 Can you imagine sitting on 200 bill and cash? And they want to be taking serious in the sporting space. In order to do that, you have to have live events. Number one live event in America is what? NFL football. And you better be careful. Because guess what happens next time around in 20 and 2030? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:34:48 The World Cup. Guess who got money to buy it? The Amazon's and the Netflix. Fox got a deal the last time because They had to postpone it because remember Ocho, it was in Cutter and it was so hot. And it would and they had to move into the fall. You won't be so lucky this time. Watch and see.
Starting point is 00:35:15 They got major dollars. And guess what? Netflix in every country to get it doing it there in every country. And make dollars that makes sense. Oh, congratulations. Oh, yeah, but I want to thank everybody. I want to thank Complex, number six. on the sports media ranking really really appreciate that guys appreciate your support
Starting point is 00:35:42 appreciate my followers my subs on all platforms thank you guys because all of this is possible because of you y'all fun this hell i work in construction in the texas heat and y'all be having me dying also did y'all see these new texan rival uniform they fired your absolute idea i saw that like that white yeah man it'll be nice yeah nice you're talking about the NFL right They went with that vintage. It's almost like that vintage old school look for a lot of these jerseys. They look good. See, that's how they get you.
Starting point is 00:36:18 Guess what? They got a new jersey. Guess who walked a new jersey? Hello. The kids. The fans. And guess what? They're going to come out with a new rivalry jersey.
Starting point is 00:36:26 They're going to have a new rivalry jersey next year. And eventually, guess what they're going to come back with, don't you? The throwbacks. You know they always have the throwbacks. come back. Hey, hold on, hold on. Y'all know they brought the starter jackets back. Yeah. Man, they back. I was just in, uh, I just, I think it was. I'm talking about like the, yeah. Yeah, they got true starters, the starter jacket, the pull over joins them pullover
Starting point is 00:36:55 joints, oh, Cho. Okay. I ain't going to lie. Not the button, though. I seen a Falcon one. That jump was so hard, I couldn't do it though. Well, right. You wait you waiting on the cowboy started. You know, Jerry don't say it here with everybody. You know, you got to be you. You got to find his exclusively of your own line and all that. Online or you got to go to Texas. Yeah, you guys.
Starting point is 00:37:19 Because he has it, he has an independent. He's one of, he's the only one that's not a part of the NFL or license. Hey, he's trying, he's trying to pocket all the money that come through there ain't a man. Absolutely. Absolutely. Okay. I see. Wanted to put five.
Starting point is 00:37:41 I'm going on it and say so happy y'all killing it. Keep stacking them ads, fellas, proud of you. And ISO, woo damn pig. Woo pig. Nightcap family has injuries always been at an all-time high, or is it because we're exposed to seeing it more on all platforms? I think it's, maybe it's that bad. But even when I was around, even when I played Ocho,
Starting point is 00:38:06 I don't remember having, I think, I think for me, it might be the injuries to who the injuries are happening to. Two, yeah. Some of the better players, obviously. You know, your main running backs, your main quarterbacks, your receivers. I think also TV, social media plays a part into it. It plays a huge role. There's a little bit more exposure, so we're getting to see some of these injuries firsthand
Starting point is 00:38:37 in real time when they do happen because of social media. I think basketball is different, though. Because a lot of our stars, our main stars, our superstars, mega stars, these are the guys getting hurt. The game is played at a much faster pace now. You know what I mean? So if you, if you normally log 35, 40 minutes a night, 42 minutes a night over a course of 82 games season,
Starting point is 00:39:03 I'm sorry, man, you're going to probably end up dealing with something. You're going to deal with something, bro. They just, it's too up and down. Now, as opposed to back in the day, and Ocho when teams were scoring, here, 90, 95 points a night. Yeah, they want to get up and down like that. 85. Yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:39:19 Now, hell, if you ain't averaging at least 115 points in here, you probably, you're getting your head beat in every night. Almighty James, two times. High's the defenseist player if you got a helmet and shoulder fans on. That's what I said, James. Yeah. That's the best of the one. You had the arm to the teeth.
Starting point is 00:39:43 Vontas Burfitt wouldn't last three games with these new rules they just announced. You wouldn't. Hell, they wouldn't any rules back then and he still didn't last. Hey, nightcap, man, I get a birthday shout out to my big brother, Bernard, who's more like a father, huge inspiration and someone I look up to. Love, absolutely. Bernard, your brother, your baby brothers, said he won't give your birthday shout out. Hopefully everything's going well.
Starting point is 00:40:10 It's not even a brilliant birthday shout out. He just want to thank you for being the best big brother there is. Say you're more like a father to it. More like a big inspiration. And he wanted to let you know. So if he's never told you this, you know it right now. Reason to us, how does a defender bring a man down at a different angle of boy dropping himself to the ground?
Starting point is 00:40:35 Same as the helmet to helmet on office lords themselves. Embrace for the head helmet to helmet. You're right. But sometimes, sometimes those guys, guys do that. They just dropped their weight down on the back of somebody legs and the guys have been getting hurt. They've done a great job. Did I open the helmet? I've always said that because my instincts is Joe, if I catch a pass and I know I'm about to get hit, I'm trying to brace. I'm trying to get into as tight a ball as I possibly can. And so where the guy's
Starting point is 00:41:01 aiming point might be my stomach or might be my chest. Now all of a sudden I try to get into this ball. I bring my helmet into the striking area in which he had aimed. I totally agree with that. I totally agree. It's really hard to tell, but I know I, I, I, guys dropping their weight down, too many guys are getting high ankle sprains, getting knee injuries, getting leg, lower leg injuries, and they're going to do legs like, nah, we got to do something about this. I guess those Cleveland, uh, Cleveland fans rub Watson the wrong way. He might want to get another team fan base. His membership is terminated in Cleveland. Yeah, I don't, I don't, I don't know if there's a fan base out there that's going to be accepting to him. I think he,
Starting point is 00:41:44 understand that he knows that's a part of the game that comes along with the territory that he does have some fans everybody's not against Deshawn Watson but everybody is not a Deshawn Watson fan and he must understand that you heard what said oh Joe he said he gets those fans rubbed Watson the wrong way he might want to get another team's fan base his membership is terminated in Cleveland oh he understands that he understands that listen as a player most of the time the team you play for your fans are going to love you So you're used to the other 31 teams really not like you, depending on who you're being on. He's in the unfortunate situation where he's on a team, but most of the fans aren't too fond of him.
Starting point is 00:42:23 Again, he can't worry about being like he can't. No. That's not his job. The job is to do the best of his ability when he's out there on Sundays and hoping to help that team win and turn their franchise around. It's easier to say it and done of Joe. But it's some cats who can who can use this as fuel. and continue to and play at a, you know, at an elite level. And some cats, bro, you know, it's not so good for him.
Starting point is 00:42:54 You know what I mean? So hopefully he can turn this thing around, make it somewhat of a positive, but it's going to be tough, bro. Big three, Uncle Ocho Joe, getting married on Saturday. My name is Casey. Her name is Kayla. How about some love? I'm ready to the preach and defeat on the honeymoon, Mr. and Mrs. Taylor.
Starting point is 00:43:17 Absolutely Casey and Kayla. Happy early birthday wedding. Man, congratulations on the big nuptials. Congratulations. Man, that's going to be unbelievable. Where are y'all going? Because don't you show up. But now, the big three and the family at nightcap,
Starting point is 00:43:37 want to congratulate you on the nuptials. Hopefully you have a long, blissful, happy married life. See, hopefully you guys wait at a time. You know each other very, very well. and that the slightest, the slightest disagreement, the slightest miscommunication, don't throw the towel in, work it out. Because so many times now people are just so easy to throw the towel in and say, forget this, but y'all work it out.
Starting point is 00:44:01 But congratulations, Mr. and Mrs. Taylor. You've heard the chaos. Now you can see it. Hello. My gosh. Each week we talk to someone in show business, aka The Biz, and try to help them with their careers and see what they have to offer us. Everyone has a good time, and no one gets mad at their publicists
Starting point is 00:44:57 for letting them do our show. We've had a lot of great guests like Sarah Sherman, not that great. Actually, can you help me shape this? How about we flip it on his head? How about we flip this script? What is the surprise woman? Actually, you think is the straight man
Starting point is 00:45:14 is actually the one who's acting weird. Adam Scott This entire time You've been expecting Adam Sandler to come to visit the show I would never Let go of that I have I would never set expectations for something like that to happen
Starting point is 00:45:31 If the universe allows for something like that to happen I'm open to it I'm always going to accept You know Danny McBride Fine Yeah it's all this fragile masculinity Exuding I could smell it walking on the hallway To be honest with you
Starting point is 00:45:46 I was like, is that weed? Nope. It's fragile masculinity. Ben Stiller, no. Because a lot of times out of context, people don't get it or even know what a circle is. You know what I mean? They're like, oh, what's a state. Everyone's so dumb.
Starting point is 00:46:02 And fake. Right, fake and also not interested or just like, oh, I've got my life. I don't care about your life. And a lot of other big shots that wouldn't be where they are without us. Oh, and by the way, Will Farrell told us personally, he loves the show and he wants to be a guest on every episode, but he's just so busy. Listen to Hollywood Handbook on the IHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Starting point is 00:46:32 This is Proz Society, the weekly podcast that's part book club, part group chat for thought daughters, pop culture obsessives, and anyone who thinks Pride and Prejudice and Love Island deserve the same level of discourse. I'm Eli Rallo and every week we're connecting the dots between books, the internet, and the conversations everyone can't stop having. I'm going to have to look up this story. I'm obsessed. From bestselling authors and your favorite book talk creators to the latest pop culture moments, nothing is off the table. It's like if you can hide some real messages inside compelling characters, then that is a Trojan horse. Whether you're looking for literary deep dives, smart pop culture conversations, or a community,
Starting point is 00:47:13 of readers who love to think a little too much, you're in the right place. Listen to Pro Society on the Iheart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. See you between the pages. On the new podcast, Solita, we share the messy reality of traveling alone as a woman. I can wait four hours for the next bus or this random dude is offering me a ride on his motorcycle. I chose option B. I'm Julie Pinero, and I travel by myself because it's a rare space where I can see. yes without asking anyone else first.
Starting point is 00:47:47 I'm on a mission to reclaim the word solita, trading the pity for possibility. Every time I tried to be alone, I kept meeting people and they were like, you smiled at us. Not a lot of people smile around here. It's when you're alone that you're most receptive to the world as it is and not the lies you're sold about it. It can be a time where you push your limits, change your mind, or wake up to a new version of yourself. So whether you're a solo travel veteran or you're too nervous to book your first trip,
Starting point is 00:48:18 I hope you listen to Solita on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Our town is small taters by most standards, right? But to the people who grew up here, it's everything. What happens when a quiet Tennessee town becomes the front line in a battle over the future of America? Developers with right-wing ties have purchased hundreds of acres of land in the area. The first thing you see when it pops up is pioneers in Appalachia. But they weren't just planning houses. We need cities on a shining hill that exemplify and embody the Christian way of life.
Starting point is 00:48:56 Stop right there. Is that normal? A podcast about what happens when a small town becomes the site of a social experiment. God need men to rule. Great. And decides to fight back. Do not use my hard work to sell your bull. They're not just opposing what. It's being planned for here. Our hometown is not a test tube.
Starting point is 00:49:17 They feel like they're standing in opposition to an entire administration. Guess you didn't move in on a bunch of dumb hillbillies now, did you? Listen to Our Town on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Mickey Entertainment says, tell Ocho I had a joke about him eating groceries, but I tossed it. Hey, that's a good one. Hey, that's a good one, everyone. I like that. That's a good one. I was slick. I was slick. Fellas, dinner party. You can invite nine guests, living or dead, known or unknown. Who's on your list?
Starting point is 00:49:57 Shadee, Prince, Patty LeBelle, my late dad, my late maternal grandparents are on mine. What you got, Joe? You got nine guests you want to invite? I don't know if I got nine. I ain't going to lie to y'all. A party? You say a party? I probably got a big guy. Yeah, you got a dinner party. Man, listen. I can bring, I can bring my mom and my grandma back. Yep.
Starting point is 00:50:23 Well, they first on the list. You hear me? They first on the list. Because, see, first off, they love the party and have a good time, dance, music. Like, I grew up, that's the type of household I grew up in. You know, there's music I always playing. So my mom was a, she loved dance. She'd be dancing at the games, Uncle Ocho.
Starting point is 00:50:40 You know what I mean? So them, them two first. me. My mom. Nine. Brian ain't got nine people on bringing with me. I'm going to keep it real. But.
Starting point is 00:50:51 Yeah, because you know, you're only child. So, about mine, easy. Barney, Mayor Porter. Uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, granddaddy William, grandma, Charlie, that's four. Uh, daddy. That's five. My brother's sister.
Starting point is 00:51:08 That's six, seven. My mom, eight. Me. Damn. Polk kids, they ain't gonna be able to make this one. They're grown folk. Y'all need to be there. My kids are going to see me,
Starting point is 00:51:24 my dad, and we've grown too. Who else? I ain't. You know what? I'm a brain my high school coach. I bring coach all. Because he knew everybody that's on the list. He knew him.
Starting point is 00:51:41 He coached my dad. He knew my grandfather, grandmother both on both sides so yeah that's my list who you got oh cho well you know i'm bringing grandma and mama back bessie made flowers paula antonette johnson my daddy uh obviously you know i'm a huge fan of frank sinatra i'm bringing sinatra back come on and cheer with your boy and uh i'm probably i got five i want red fox i want red fox to be there to my grandfather i want my grandfather back right well my grandfather back um that's about it right there damn Chaunson you ain't made the list well my my brother I thought I thought
Starting point is 00:52:26 people that weren't they could be live they could be live or not well I just I just want with people that's no longer here no my brother them near be there but I like that people the people that no longer here especially those that I'm fond of I never had opportunity to meet that'd be dope oh Joe Joe's got a question Question for y'all, why do ex-girlfriends reach out years later after they broke up with you or made the relationship difficult the whole time? Oh, so why they do that? Oh, I don't know. Well, I could tell you, I can tell you one reason.
Starting point is 00:52:59 Always thinking the grass is green on the other side or they're better options. I think social media has everyone's mind misconfigured as if there's better out there. Hey, man, ain't nothing outside. It just ain't, you know. And if you look at every situation, every situation is different. It just, I don't know. I have no idea. Ain't anything outside.
Starting point is 00:53:24 I mean, it's a little fun, a little temporary fun. That's about it. They started to think sometimes Uncle Ocho, like, and I was bad back then. You know, I apologize. I ain't, you know, it's too damn late. It's over with. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:53:38 Yeah. It's a rap. I don't know why, man. I don't know why. Yeah. Big through. Big three, who do you have winning the WNBA playoff this year? It's very star-driven.
Starting point is 00:53:52 Brough, if I had to put any money down on it, I'm putting it down on Minnesota. You put it on Minnesota? You put it on Minnesota. Hey, the spectacle. She liked that. But you know what? Not only is, is she like that, it's some other girls around her. You know what I mean?
Starting point is 00:54:08 Like, they got a complete team, Ocho. Yeah, Fee. Caleb McBride. Since Fee came back, they've been a different team now. They did just take a nice L other day against the Valkyries. The Valkyries. Yeah, they got a great defensive team. They do, man.
Starting point is 00:54:24 This thing wide open as far as like when the playoffs start, like it's some teams that might be a little head of others, but man, them girls out there are bawling, bro. And the thing is, you must be ready to get somebody knocked off. But you're right, this is, I mean, when you look at Asia Wilson, you look at Caitlin Clark and Kelsey Mitchell, you look at Paige Beckers, You look at the spectacle, Olivia Miles, Angel Reese's playing out of what damn mind.
Starting point is 00:54:51 Howard, Ryan Howard, Alicia Gray, man, this thing is going to be. Hello. So you don't think the ACE is going to win it again? They can't, man. They're going to need somebody to get the Minnesota links out the way. You still got Stewart. You still got Stewie doing her thing. Jean-Quil Jones, Annette's school.
Starting point is 00:55:12 It's just tough, man, because they ain't, they. They no longer are like, I don't think they no longer like the upper echelon cream of the crop. Like it's other teams that's up there with them now. You know, the parity in the WMBA is so great. I'm talking about probably a couple of years ago, you could probably predict who's going to win now. It's, it's, oh, man, it's some teams out there that they can go. And it's a situation where the Aces got to play. They need Chelsea and Jackie to play great.
Starting point is 00:55:47 because I already know what I'm going to get from Asia. Yes. I'm not even concerned about that. I know what I'm going to get. I'm going to get 25 and 10, probably two blocks of steel and three to four cents. I already know I'm going to get that. That's on a bad night. A good night, she'll give me 32, 13 and 5.
Starting point is 00:56:04 I need Jackie or Chelsea to give me another 20 every night and the other to give me somewhere 15 to 20. Because that's what it's going to take. That's what it's going to take. I agree. Because they're going to do a great job. The links do a great job. They double her.
Starting point is 00:56:20 They got guys that fee is an outstanding defender. They got guys that can cause a problem. So, but I'm rooting for the aces. All right. Ocho calling you a pup, ISO. Huh? He's calling you a pup on the basketball court. So, you are, I really, I really don't do a whole lot of talking chat.
Starting point is 00:56:47 You know what I mean? Like, you know, this job has been new for me. You know what I mean? I like the show. I'm going to step up to the plate. I'm gonna show you what I'm talking about man I ain't gonna do all this tongue wrestling with you these two dudes I already know how I come when I show up they know when I show up but I don't play no silly games hey hey Joe I'm gonna just tell you good luck boy
Starting point is 00:57:09 I ain't really what I'm wrestling either Joe okay uh Darrell Nick has said I bought a La Portia Hall of Fame edition took my last drink tonight before eating that thing I had a crawling military style to advice work. See? See? Oh, you, hey, military style. Yeah, hey, don't forget, you what you can do. Get that leash.
Starting point is 00:57:42 So when you get the crawling, you pull it right back to you. Uh-uh. Don't run. Yes, sir. Watson is not playing football to win. He's playing for the contract. He's not there mentally. You can see it.
Starting point is 00:57:57 Can't fix his mentality. What that smell, roadkill, poor Brown's fan. I see you. why they boycott. Oh, unfortunate. Me, I do think Deshaun wants to win. I just think that was a huge mental hurdle that he has to get over.
Starting point is 00:58:16 That's asking a lot. I don't know, Joe, I don't know if we've had anybody in the history of the game that's been asked to get over what he's been asked to get over to put what he's been able to have to put behind every single week to put that behind him and go out there and play at an elite level.
Starting point is 00:58:30 I don't know if we've had that in a very, very long time. No, it's been, it's been a while. Listen, he got a lot on his plate, huh? He got a lot on his plate. Absolutely. And for him, he has to be the best person this football season, compartmentalizing, blocking everything out and focusing on football.
Starting point is 00:58:49 Yes, you have fans that don't like you. You've got to block that out. You got to block that out. Once you get on that field, your teammates got to be there to support you, and all you can worry about is pleasing your teammates in that franchise and everything else to take care of itself if you play winning. football that's all we need to worry about Charlie Dale 33 wants to know oh cho start bitch cut big being Eli Manning Philip Rivers all of those guys
Starting point is 00:59:13 from the 2004 NFL draft well that's a good one I'm gonna go a big Ben first obviously start big being yep yeah um Philip Rivers and who Eli I'm going in Eli and then I got it I got a cut river So what you got, Joe again? You got Big Ben, Eli Manning, Philip Rivers. Start bench cut. I'm going to go Eli, Ben, Phillip. What's up, Big Three?
Starting point is 00:59:54 Even if Watson gets benched, I don't think the Browns fully believe in should do it. If he struggles, I think they'll draft another quarterback. They absolutely go draft the quarterback. Because I don't think, I mean, like I said, we weren't there in practice. But it's hard for me to see that Deshawn Watson, from what I saw in the game, it's exponentially better than Shador. Right.
Starting point is 01:00:17 Yeah, the game wouldn't matter, ain't. And for them to start. And the game, the game wouldn't matter, ain't it? Considering they say practice and how he got in and out of the huddle and what he did against in OTAs and mini camps and training camps. So, I don't know. Only time I'm gonna tell. Only time will tell.
Starting point is 01:00:45 Nightcap team, what's your three favorite football movies? What you call them? Got to be up there. Willie Beeman. Waterboy. Any given Sunday. That's a good one. That's a good one.

Starting point is 01:01:38 That's why his ass can't see now. Talking about you, Ocho. What's that? Why can't put your eyes where it ain't supposed to be. There you go. There you go. I can see just fine. I can see.
