Starting point is 00:00:30 Apple Podcasts or wherever you get your podcasts. Hey, it's Alec Baldwin. This past season on my podcast, Here's the Thing, I spoke with more actors, musicians, policymakers, and so many other fascinating people, like writer and actor Dan Aykroyd. I love writing more than anything. You're left alone. You know, you do three hours in the morning, you write. Three hours in the afternoon, go pick up a kid from school,
Starting point is 00:01:01 and write at night, and after nine hours, you come out with seven pages, and then you're moving on. Listen to Here's the Thing on the iHeart Radio app Apple podcasts or wherever you get your podcasts. Snakes, zombies, sharks, heights, speaking in public, the list of fears is endless. But while you're clutching your blanket in the dark, wondering if that sound in the hall was actually a footstep, the real danger is in your hand, when you're behind the wheel. And while you might think a Great White Shark is scary,
Starting point is 00:01:35 what's really terrifying and even deadly is distracted driving. Eyes forward, don't drive distracted. Brought to you by NHTSA and the Ad Council. What's up everybody? It's your boy Bubba Dubb. Man, I know y'all see me all over the internet going crazy. I know y'all been seeing me with Hash Davie. Yeah, I was up there in D.C. Yeah, up there in D.C. with the champ, in the gym.
Starting point is 00:02:37 Nah, I wasn't working out doing all this and that, but I was in there getting footage and watching a sparring session between these two boxers. Man, I got a new found respect for boxers, man. Just being in the mix, just seeing the grind, the punches they have to absorb. It just a lot goes into being a boxer. They ain't got shit to do like a street fighter.
Starting point is 00:03:02 Street fight ain't got shit on boxing. Street fight, you're all, this and that. You can't see you getting hit. Boxing is technique, it's style, it's footwork, man. It's being disciplined, it's dedication, man. It's laser sharp focus that you gotta have in boxing because every boxer not gonna to be a champion. You know what I'm saying?
Starting point is 00:03:26 You just don't have some okay boxer and that's okay. That's what makes the world great. We all different, but everybody's not going to have the belts. Everybody's not going to have the money. Everybody's not going to have all the honey. Everybody's not going to have this and glitz and glad. Everybody's not going to have that. But watching what Tank has done and where he's come from and to where he's
Starting point is 00:03:47 at now he's his own boss I mean he was right there with champ you know Floyd Mayweather motherfucking champ, Brainius Elphar right there with him up under him learning everything he need to learn and for him to be able to wanna you know what champ I love you but I'm gonna move away from you you know whatever real estate guy that's between them, me and champ means ain't we cool. I don't get in that state business, that's grown folk business. I stay out that shit, neutral, I always will be.
Starting point is 00:04:14 But with that being said, talking with Tank, he his own man, his own boss. And I just like, Floyd got Tank on his own and you can't fault that, cause with Champ seeing in Dayla Hoyer, he wanted that. He wouldn't have done that and accomplished that. So whoou is the tank what he's been able to do um just tonight getting back um from up there uh um from DC um back home in Ace Town and it's cold and a motherfucker outside who turned the goddamn hell down in Ace Town? I don't know. It's cold.
Starting point is 00:04:45 I left them up there when it was cold. I was thinking I was gonna come back home. I'm gonna be well. Shit, it's cold with the ironing. I just don't understand y'all what's going on in the world today with this temperature. I feel like man, messing with the season. I don't even think it, it ain't even February.
Starting point is 00:05:10 Look, do we know, it's probably just not not June, I mean just not January on the cool. Cold as it is. I call up to that school and told them to put my kids on the bus. I'm not picking them up. Now going back out there and shit. Don't do cold weather, y'all. I don't do cold weather. Waffle down. My house already ain't insulated that much.
Starting point is 00:05:24 I got every blanket. I got the oven on and down. God damn it cuz it's cold They feel be no any night this motherfucking. I want to call like that. Yeah Telling you right now. I also you got the Legos playing tonight. Yeah playing the hornets They better keep the hornets motherfucking ass, too. I know that much brown soul foot I don't give a damn. You better be on the court. You ain't playing the All-Star game? I ain't tripping.
Starting point is 00:05:51 You know, people mad I raised about the fact that you didn't let them know beforehand. That's the NBA. Don't get mad at bruh. The NBA told that motherfucker, look here, you wait till an hour before the game, discuss that you ain't gonna play, because a week before this and that,
Starting point is 00:06:04 the NBA already knew that boy wasn't gonna play. It's all about the money It's all about the money man so y'all can get out your feelings on that Braun 40 years old He ain't gonna play in the All-Star. Cool. I know some of y'all think well he shoulda said something earlier Maybe somebody else shoulda got it now. Never. You know how many motherfucking ticket sales the NBA would have lost if LeBron James We've announced a week before he wasn't gonna be at that all-star game. She They would do it. They get that money to from the other Now for Kind of understand business you gotta understand what's going on. What's his state?
Starting point is 00:06:44 No, that's a negative. If you're watching this show, I want you to know it's being presented by PricePix. Download the number one sports fantasy app in the game right now. Do that for your boy if you don't mind. Yeah, right down the corner right there. Go on, right there. Go on, make sure you scan that. Type in my promo code TRASH with the two H's. You bet more or less on your favorite player, baby.
Starting point is 00:07:07 Real talk, only do it right now. Yeah. If you can't watch my show, then type, go to Apple Podcasts or Spotify. Type in the Bubba Dubb Show. Boom. There I am. He knows what he saw, and he's here to tell you, hell no. Hell no. Yeah, let's get to it.
Starting point is 00:07:27 I know y'all are saying, Doug, quit all that talking and drop the tank. We feel the drop it in a minute. But let me do my hell no segment first. Doug, what you move a watch in the DC? Hell no. It's so motherfucking cold up there. Didn't even see white folks walking their damn dogs.
Starting point is 00:07:43 You know white folks walk their dog before a funeral, after a funeral, during the funeral. I didn't see no damn dog, no damn will. White folks walk their dogs, and tell you what, I didn't see no more of the homeless people as much either down in D.C. You know, Trump got their ass up on the streets. You know, that's one thing that bothered me
Starting point is 00:08:04 in the words homeless people, bro. Like, that bothers me in the world is homeless people, bro. Like when the weather get bad and cold, man, you driving by or you might be walking, you see homeless people on the streets, bro. That bothers me and you know, it does. And you got to also know some of them want to be homeless. Some of them don't even want help. Some of them do, but some of them don't. They so, they mind so fucked down. Some of them on drugs. They don't even know if they coming or going. Hopefully man, we could come over with a resolution.
Starting point is 00:08:36 Elon Musk, you got a motherfucker for solution for finding they stolen money, been going on up there in the government. Find a solution's help take care of these mother fucker homeless people and our veterans. Our veterans need more help than what they been getting out here. And also let's help the homeless people. Let's help the people who really need the help the most.
Starting point is 00:08:56 Like we got to stop stepping on our own people and wanna run over to the other mother fucking places and help them, fuck them. That's all about us right here in the USA. Everybody else, fuck them. We get the y us right here in the USA. Everybody else, fuck them. We get the y'all legal. We don't deal with us, nah. That's what we got to start doing.
Starting point is 00:09:11 That's all I'm saying. That's all my only gripe is seeing people, man, just on the streets cold and slump over due to the drugs, man, ain't nothing cool about here on, ain't nothing cool about any drug that's gonna harm you and hurt your body and have you, where you don't know where you at. That's what bothers me, man.
Starting point is 00:09:35 Like I said, we gotta stop going and find certain things, and especially in the black community, we gotta stop going and find certain things. We gotta stop that. We all gotta pull together and be on the black community, we got to stop going and find certain things. We got to stop that. We all got to pull together and be on the one accord. And that's white, black, Mexican, Chinese. Well, we all got to be together. We are the world.
Starting point is 00:09:53 You remember that song Michael Jackson had? We are the world. Y'all remember that? Huh? Y'all remember that? Shit. Quincy Jones had his eyes on Michael Jackson. Shit. John had his eyes on Michael Jackson. See, see, see John making no motherfucking hits and somebody going to spit.
Starting point is 00:10:10 That's all I'm saying. But I ain't ready, fuck it, ain't a real man Tank. I was able to sit down with fam for about 15 to 17 minutes and we dive into why he chose Lamont Roach like y'all ought to know too. Why would you give him a chance? Them only things that I asked Tank. And they got a little bit serious too, you know, if y'all don't want to know too, why would you give him a chance? Them only things that I asked Tank. And they got a little bit serious too, you know, if y'all don't know, you know, he jumped
Starting point is 00:10:29 in my comments on Instagram where I posted a video of me and Champ jumped in there and coming to something. But I let y'all go and see what that was about. It's all love at the end of the day. Mois first, Tank David versus Lamont Roach at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. It's going down. You better be there.
Starting point is 00:10:51 I'ma be there. If you ain't watch the show, let's support our people. Man, I know some of y'all, man. I don't wanna watch this fight, but let me tell you something right here. Lamont Roach is a better fighter than Frank Martin. Y'all know Frank Martin is a young talent that's up and coming and went, what, eight, nine,
Starting point is 00:11:08 10 rounds for Tank Davis. I think Lamont Roach is a better fighter than Frank Martin right now at this point. I got this match going 10 rounds. I got it going 10 rounds, I do. And let's see how it play out, man. Let's see how it play out. I'm super excited to bring y'all this.
Starting point is 00:11:25 I've been trying to get somebody of this caliber to sit down with me. Fam was able to sit down with me, talk to me, chop it up. I got a new fam, respectful bro. Man, yo, let's, this one on one's too, like, yeah, let's make this one go viral. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, let's make, dude, damn it, get me up there. God damn it, y'all getting everybody else up there.
Starting point is 00:11:50 Get me up there. You already shouldn't have hit the like button by now. You should already have hit the share button right now. The love doesn't sit down with tiny. Listen on the iHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Snakes, zombies, sharks, heights, speaking in public,
Starting point is 00:12:43 the list of fears is endless. But while you're clutching your blanket in the dark, wondering if that sound in the hall was actually a footstep, the real danger is in your hand when you're behind the wheel. And while you might think a great white shark is scary, what's really terrifying and even deadly is distracted driving.
Starting point is 00:13:02 Eyes forward, don't drive distracted. Brought to you by NHTSA and the Ad Council. I'm confident in a lot of things right now, man. And I'm super duper excited about that. Cause y'all have been able to go with me on this journey. It's real. You understand? Y'all able to... And don't forget I'm on the weekly ones too, baby. Yeah, next weekend, February 28th,
Starting point is 00:13:31 I'm in South Haber, Mississippi. Me, Mike, Ips. You know the rest of us. Pull up and grab them tickets. And then next Sunday, I'm in Brooklyn, New York. New York. I got a hunter ass and hunter clips. New York. New York, I got a hundred rats and a hundred clips. New York, New York. Hey man, that's what them rats be listening to in New York. I got a hundred around there, a hundred clips.
Starting point is 00:13:54 But I'm telling you, thank y'all for talking into the bubble dub. So man, I'm gonna stop runging my mouth and let y'all die at the end of this interview that I got with Jafonte Tank Davis. Hope y'all enjoy this, man. I see y'all again when I see y'all. I'm in the comments right now with y'all while y'all watching. I'm in the comments right now while y'all watching this. Yeah, let's get this to a million.
Starting point is 00:14:20 Let's go. What's up, everybody? Welcome to the B of the Dubb Show Dub show live in DC pre-workout. I'm here with the champ, Tank Davis. How you feeling fam? Good man. I'm good man. Hey man, watching you in that ring workout man, I got a new level of
Starting point is 00:14:33 respect for the game man. It's crazy man. Me, preparing for a fight like like this with Lamont Ropes. Like what's going through your mind at this point right now though? Right now I'm just like making sure I stay sharp. You know, like thinking about the fight, like
Starting point is 00:14:48 what I'm going to do inside the fight and shit like that. But yeah, just like making sure I stay sharp with things like that, like picturing what I'm going to do in the fight and stuff. How like, you know, I know a lot of people don't ever ask this question, but with the amount of success you've been having in boxing games, with the amount of money you have made, if you could just sit here and say, to continue to stay sharp, I think a lot of bikers are not this, like how did that come from, from you to stay this and ground? I just don't want to look like a fool when I go out there in the rain, you know? I want to stay sharp.
Starting point is 00:15:20 I want to stay like, you know, when you reach that top level or things like that, you want to always like make sure You go out there and give it your all. You want you don't want to like slip up and you know Underwork yourself and then you feel like you're doing enough work inside the training I'm at training camp so you can't look good when you fight and things like that so I'll make sure I try to stay like as much possible stay focused as possible as I can know. So I could be able to also give out
Starting point is 00:15:50 put on a great performance in front of the fans and things like that. Because if you always put on a great performance, the fans going, you draw more fans, though, you know, that want to see you more dollars for show. Yeah, for sure. So like you got to do your job at the same time. It's an entertainment where you your brand so I can say Pay if you say is you won't you won't people yeah and watch you not people on their ass So that's what you'd be doing
Starting point is 00:16:12 But when you get in the ring, you know, we watch you, you know first two or three runs sound like you'd be feeling your opponent Out a little bit. Yeah. Yeah for sure Cuz I never want to go out there and like, you know, and run into a punch that I don't see or anything like that. So I like to feel my, my uh, upon that and things like that. You like, with like, that's what life is. You just don't go out there and just, you know, head on show.
Starting point is 00:16:35 You just always want to figure your way through things and, you know, then gradually like, you know, um, loosen up and then, you know, once you find them open, then that's when you, you know, um, loosen up and then, you know, once you find them openers, then that's when you, you go head on. It's funny you say that when you, when you, when you finding them openings and like, like you open them up a little bit like that, like, so like you said, you already knowing what punch you, you feel the hit.
Starting point is 00:16:57 You like, okay, he, he flinched on that one. So I'm like, come with the right hook on the next one. You catch him. Like I look at you as you as like one of those boxes that you'll walk him down. Like from the announcer's, oh, he got a nice shot in on Tank. It's my style.
Starting point is 00:17:13 Like, it's like, man, it's like, it's like you know how to make adjustments, bro. And I just love to see, I know the fans love to see it, bro. You know me, I like keep it going, bro, because we got a lot of people rooting for you. We also, you know, you got a lot of haters too, but a lot of haters don't pay you,
Starting point is 00:17:31 because they want to tune in just to see what Tank going to do. So my question is this, could we ever see you and Ron Dorsey again in the ring again? You and Ron. Yeah, for sure. If he, if like, if he... If he clean, you know... Yeah, yeah, if he clean, yeah, if he clean for sure. If he is like if he's clean, yeah, yeah, if he clean Yeah, if he clean for sure and if he looking Looking good his next couple fights for sure. We can we can redo it for sure What about hanging man? You know, they keep keep mentioning his name with you and this and that but you know, obviously he loves to
Starting point is 00:18:02 Crying Rather he took some and not he, he got knocked on his ass. Yeah, I'll definitely for sure be open in a fight. I mean, I'll definitely, for sure. But it's just like he got to, I mean, he got to redeem himself, you know? If he look good his next fight and things like that and if the fight don't go good or even if he look look good gets Ryan too and He don't get the one like I feel though it will still be like a good fight to have just like even like the build-up since we've been like
Starting point is 00:18:36 He's been younger and things like that coming in the game and It was back and forth. So I think it still be a good fight with me and Devin for sure. Well, you know, it's the light skinned gang, you know. You got the W's, you want the Drake, you got the A's. Yeah, man. You know what I'm saying, boss the first, we got Tain, we got you with the Mon-Rose, man. What made you want to reach out and give Young Bucks a chance, man? We reached out to a couple of fighters that was unavailable and things like that at the
Starting point is 00:19:07 time. And well, some people turned down the fight. Some people was like, you know, they already had fights and Lamont was, you know, he was someone that's a champion and he was willing to come up and weight class and you know, um take the fight and things like that and I also think that he reached well I'm not sure if he reached out but when it was like they asked him or like, you know
Starting point is 00:19:38 He he didn't shy away from he straight said yes So that what that was you ever get when you could champ everybody everybody throwing stones at you but when you tell you get sick of people calling you out knowing they can't whoop you I guess want to pay guy yeah that's what that's really what it is but it's me now and just understanding that and just like you know um just understanding and just picking the right picking the right choices at the right time and things like that. I just like been in a game that you see that
Starting point is 00:20:11 like everybody wanna fight you. Like it doesn't matter what the weight class or not. It's like people that's like 147, 154 and things like that that wanna fight me. Like everybody, you know, but it's like more so like, it's a payday, you, but it's like more so like it's a payday, it's not more so like, all right, I think I can win. It's like they wanna make sure that that situation good. That's what it really is.
Starting point is 00:20:35 Yeah, cause I just like, I seen that a lot of people like, man, Tilted Tank give me a chance. Like bro, you struggling with the motherfuckers. You can't tell them don't get in at this. Right, right. You a cheater. You ain't never seen a cheater trying to fight someone. Why you trying to get in there with this man? But it definitely be like, you know, pay them.
Starting point is 00:20:52 But you can't fuck them, but it's just the way how they go about the situation. Like, if they would have came at me like a fighter and not like so disrespectful or say like, I want to fight them and things like that, then it probably would be different, you know, but I mean, you know, they, they younger now. I mean, they younger, so they wanna go like the disrespectful route. I know you heard from everybody.
Starting point is 00:21:17 You hear from your peers, your family members, but when, when did you know you were special, bro? Like really knew like, I'm him. I didn't really like, I didn, like, pick up on it. I was just so in love with, I was not, now that I'm older, I don't think I even was in love with the sport so much. I think I was just in love with just having that
Starting point is 00:21:42 father figure that I didn't have at home and in gym. So, and when I started winning and things like that, it was like more so I was making my coaching them happy. I was making people around me happy. So I was like, damn, like I'm doing something that actually draw people to love me like in a sense. So that's what I really like. I'm like, okay, then it wasn't really so like me just boxing
Starting point is 00:22:12 or anything like that, you know? Cause as I get older, I'm like, I shy away from boxing, but it's like, I still had a love for the sport, but it's just the people that I have loved Like it's the people that I had love for and not really the sport Yeah, like speaking on it like you broke generational curses in your family bro, like now you You even bred one of them bro. Like yeah what you being able to do No one in your family's ever be able to done that though
Starting point is 00:22:42 Like you got people around you now that's feeling entitled to your success. They ain't done nothing, but they feel like, oh, I know he got me. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I mean, but I mean, come with it, you know, but right now I'm in the states where I, though, whereas though I like, I actually looked out
Starting point is 00:22:59 for every single person, like every single person. I feel as though I looked out for every single person. So it can't really be like, now it's just like making sure I'm good, making sure my kid's good and things like that, you know? So it just, I'm worrying about myself now, trying to take care of myself like beyond boxing and that's why I think I draw the line with boxing so it just like trying to take care of myself more so I could be like be able to grow with my kids and you know um you know that's better myself as a person you know now so I
Starting point is 00:23:38 just want to be not a role model for the people because I'm I still make mistakes but I want to be a role model for like my kids you know I got a son now so I want to appreciate it I definitely want to like um let's do the right thing for them and show them that you know um anything is possible you know where I come from when it's all said and done how would you like to people when they bring your name or how would you like like like to hear when it's all said and done, how would you like to, people, when they bring your name, what would you like to hear when it's all said and done, Tane Davis as a boxer? As a boxer?
Starting point is 00:24:14 Not really as a boxer, but as a person, I just wanna, just, really like he changed his life around. He's not this young, young reckless kid no more. That came in the game, like I really didn't care. I really didn't like, really give a hell
Starting point is 00:24:32 about what people think and things like that. And I carried myself like that with it. When it started, it came off, it really came off like arrogant and like, but I just really wanted like, when they look at at me like yeah, he changed a lot like he For the better, you know, yeah. Yeah for sure. I see man. I appreciate you for because we've been talking about trying to get you on myself, bro Yeah, from the bottom of my heart, you know, I I appreciate you know, i'm happy to hear some of this shit talking I'm gonna thank you. Praise you for coming on the bubble. So I see you fighting.
Starting point is 00:25:05 Yes, sir. Best of luck, bro. Keep being real and stay out of my face. I appreciate it. Yeah, therefore. Thanks for having me, bro. Catch Jon Stewart back in action on
