Man I appreciate you taking the time out your bitch and schedule to come on this show with me man We really appreciate it, but let's dive straight into it Unc. 2024. You started this shit, uh, with Kat Wynn. After that interview, after that interview with Kat Wynn, uh, how have your life changed? Man, everything about me, everything about Shea Shea Media, my life, my personal life, my business life, I couldn't even imagine it, dog.
Starting point is 00:03:40 If somebody would've told me during that interview, after that interview, this was what's gonna happen to my life, I wouldn't have believed it. Now, Kat did tell me, he said, this is about to put you in a different dimension. I'm like, okay, yeah, Kat, right, yeah, yeah. I didn't even know.
Starting point is 00:03:58 You know, I thought, look, I was hoping we can get 10 million views. But I just remember after the interview, my producer, CJ, was shaking his head and he's shaking his head like so I cover my mic and I look back at him because I'm thinking I said something, Kat said something, we're going to have to edit a lot of this stuff out. So I had no idea.
Starting point is 00:04:17 And when I got back, I said, what, what happened? He said, they're going to be, this is going to break the internet. I said, you think we'll do the 10 million that we was hoping for? He like, it's going to do more. I say, well, what are you thinking? He said, Shannon, they're going to talk about this the whole 2024. I say, you think CJ is. I had no idea, Doug.
Starting point is 00:04:38 I'm talking about I was in I was in Cannes. I was in South of France. I was in Bordeaux. The people that walked up to me and didn't call me my name, they didn't call me Shannon, they called me Unc, they called me Shay. And I could kind of understand it in the in the in the accent, the French accent, Cat Williams, Cat Williams, Cat Williams. I had no idea this was what my life was gonna be like moving forward.
Starting point is 00:05:05 You're like a rock star out here now. You know we got affiliation or we partners or whatever. But when that happened I had so many people hit me up man about about hey man you gotta you gotta hurry up and ask can you get on the show? Let me work. Let me be. I don't let the cane with that Cat Weed interview on. It opened up Pandora's box because everybody want to tell they truth. And my Amy, my Amy the next week we went to church. She went up there and did a confession that she been sleeping with the past. Oh man. I'm serious. I don't because of Cat Weed. Hey, I tell people all the time. I don't know if six people gonna be able to carry my casket cuz I'm taking a lot of my secret my cats gonna
Starting point is 00:05:48 Be heavy as hell dog. I'm taking I'm taking a lot of this into my grave You didn't rain or forklift to carry my casket cuz I got a lot of secrets. I got to be buried with Oh, not me man. Not me. I talk I pillow talk with them on if some more I'll I pillow talk with them on if something on my arm I'll be pillow talk. I'm not man. I can't do no crying what you did No, hey, you go down me out Yo, Charlie rappers going to jail and they're begging to me I'll be home in two weeks. Oh Two weeks Don't even worry about that. Let's keep this thing on the hunch.
Starting point is 00:06:26 But I got this info for you. Name, date, receipt, hey, what we planned, hey, I got the diagram, how we drew it all up. Oh no, I can't do one day incarcerated. I tell this story one time, I was supposed to be in jail a month. I called home, my cousin answered my phone. He had never been to my house.
Starting point is 00:06:43 I knew he ain't he was coming home. Now guess what guess what now we trading places like us because I'm home and he in there now. I had to get rid of my uncle let's keep it moving uncle let me talk to you about this everybody always talk about going to the Super Bowl playing in Super Bowl, but how was it leading up to the Super Bow because you won three? That's the best part about it is the journey. Not so much the destination. Yeah, I remember growing up as a kid and wanting to play in this game, but it's the journey. It's the starting out, the off season. It's the training. It's the mini camps. It's the training camp. It's the process game by game, step by step. And you can't skip any steps, Dub. And our first Super Bowl, because the year before we got upset by Jacksonville,
Starting point is 00:07:32 who had only been on an official NFL team for two years. They'd only been in the league since 95. And here they are, 96, with the overwhelming favorite, with 13 and three. We got like 10 pro bowlers. We got a bunch of all pros. And they come into our building and they beat us And i'm like, well damn
Starting point is 00:07:48 And I because that was like my sixth or seventh year in the league. I'm like, well damn it took us that long to get here I don't know if and when we're gonna be back in this situation again. And here we are the next year Uh, we had to lead we were having a great record And then we go like a two or three game losing streak at the end of the season And so we lose the division and so now we And then we go on like a two or three game losing streak at the end of the season. And so we lose the division. And so now we've got to go on the road. We get Jacksonville back. So now Mike tells us a story about,
Starting point is 00:08:13 he got word that once the Jags found out they were playing us after their game, they were celebrating like, oh, we about to do this again. Doug, we opened up a can on them. And so now we got to go on the road. We got to go to Kansas city. Kansas city has just beaten us three weeks earlier to win the division.
Starting point is 00:08:33 We beat them. We got to go back to Pittsburgh. Pittsburgh had drove us earlier in the year. We beat them. Now we get, uh, uh, green Bay, who is the reigning Super Bowl champ. And at that point in time, the NFC had won 14 straight Super Bowls and they hadn't been close other than that one that Buffalo lost on the field goal. All of you remember 55, 10, 45, 10, 35, 10.
Starting point is 00:08:58 None of the games were even close. Man, Doug. Winning that game. You realize you realize what it takes in order to win that game. But then once you win that game, nothing else matters. Nothing else matters. That's all you play for.
Starting point is 00:09:18 That is the drive. I didn't care about Pro Bowl. Yes, a Pro Bowl and all Pro, that was great. Thousand yards, that was great. Leading the team, that's the drive that you want. You want that because once you win that Super Bowl, you go to the Pro Bowl, everybody address you as champ. You the big dog on the block now.
Starting point is 00:09:39 Everybody's like, man, and then, you know, we trade helmets, everybody want that Super Bowl helmet. Everybody want the Bronco helmet because we are the champs man dub if you play if you play a sport a professional sport your ultimate is worth the World Series or the NBA Finals Championship or once you get that feeling that's all that matters though that's the only thing that matters oh man tell me about I know I know, I ain't never played professionally or nothing like a college level, but in high school,
Starting point is 00:10:08 you know, I played, you know what I'm saying? You played what? I played Ry receiver. Oh, oh, oh, I went across that middle and never went again, I quit. I joined the damn band, that shit ain't for me. Doug, you from Texas. They play real big boy football in Texas.
Starting point is 00:10:27 I ain't big though. That's the problem. That's my point. If you from these southern states, you from Georgia, Florida, you from Texas, you from Cali, UK, man, we play real football. Football is a rite of passage. That's a birthright that if you come up in the South, you got to play that. You got to be about that life.
Starting point is 00:10:49 But you know what? I always said this too, because it was a lot of players on my team. They needed football way more than I needed. You know what I'm saying? Like, I was like, you know what? I ain't, we ain't rich. You know, we, we, we, we, my family have no money, but we weren't just in poverty like that.
Starting point is 00:11:04 So it's a couple of players. I mean, they playing just to eat and I can see it in their eyes. I'm like, no, this ain't for me. Let me go to basketball and play something like that. But we were in poverty, though. We were in poverty. That was our way out. That was the only way because the only thing that me and my brother, we talked about my brother and I, we really didn't talk a whole lot about women.
Starting point is 00:11:24 We didn't talk about the whole the only thing that we and he and I talked about. And I remember you used to go into the branch, we used to walk across the dirt road and go down the field and young pine trees, they call them saplings. And me and my brother would bend a couple of them down and we'd be sitting on them. And my grandma used to always tell us, don't y'all bring them down red bugs back because the red bugs be on the trees. And we were just sitting down there and we'd always be thinking man man. What you gonna do man? I want to go play an NFL because we have saw it on TV and they're making thirty and forty thousand dollars man
Starting point is 00:11:53 Hey, I remember what going I was working 12 hours Monday Tuesday Wednesday Thursday Friday a half a day on Saturday and make thirty dollars so on Saturday and make. $30. So. $30,000, $50,000, $100,000. Man, that was a million dollars, $10 million. And then we caught, so like we have up until from the fourth, from the, like the third grade all the way into the eighth to my freshman year in high school. We also called chickens for the Clactam Porcher plant.
Starting point is 00:12:26 And so we got paid a dollar thousand. So we go to a chicken house and we catch 14,000 chickens. And it was like eight of us, we catch 14,000, that's $14. And so that's how we supplemented. And I've always thought of myself as a provider. So I would make, you know, we work Sunday night, Monday night, Tuesday night, Wednesday night. And then that would be, that's decent money.
Starting point is 00:12:50 And I would always remember giving my grandmother $10. I'd give my grandmother $15, give my grandmother $20. Because in my mind, if that was a lot of money, she could buy groceries. It would help pay a light bill. It would help pay a phone bill. So that's how I was wired. And so I just remember growing up like I'm going to the NFL.
Starting point is 00:13:08 That was the only thing that I thought about. And I dove and I tell people this all the time. I ruined a lot of relationships, a lot. I probably should have been married, but you should be interfered with. If it interfered with football, friends, I let friends go. because if you're not wired like I'm wired if you're not I had to let it go dub. I had to let it go and but I don't I and I told people in my hall of fame speech I'm not here to apologize for that Because it got me here and it got you something that you never would have enjoyed had I not been as driven as I as I am
Starting point is 00:13:43 But dub that was it was life for us because I remember growing up eating what I ate, you know, drinking well water. We had a well that we dripped the bucket down just like you see in the 40s and 50s. We had that in the 80s. My grandmother had one of those old times that you pour water in and you prime it and the water come up from the ground. Now, sometimes you have a drought. There was no water to beat. No matter how deep you dug, there was no water. So we would have to go fill up 55 gallon drums, put from the convenience store.
Starting point is 00:14:15 That was our drinking water. That was our bathing water. And so I just knew the way I was living. I didn't want my kids to spend one minute in that life, let alone a year. And so that's how, and I tell people, I remember not really, I've never showered in a house until I was like 20.
Starting point is 00:14:39 I went outside, not outdoors, we found the woods. So it didn't matter if it was raining, you had to go, you had to go in the rain. At night, the outdoors, we found the woods. So it didn't matter if it was raining, you had to go, you had to go in the rain. At night, the mosquitoes, everybody knows if you live in the South, mosquitoes are bad. We have bug spray, we try to spray it around and try to go as quick as you can, but sometimes it takes you a little longer and the mosquitoes like, yeah, we got one of these. And they drill it, you know, Dub. But I just, and that's how I'm wired still now. And people like, well, Shannon, why do you work so hard?
Starting point is 00:15:10 Because I know what it was like back then. And I ain't no, I'm not going back. Lord will, he gave me this drive, this discipline, this dedication. I'm not going back, Dub. And I'm not going to allow anybody to take me back. I feel like, and another thing, Greg, as you would, Hall of Famers, you would, as you say, Big Brother was cold. He was.
Starting point is 00:15:31 He was. He was. But you know, the greatest thing that he did for me is that what he had, he allowed me like I remember he got an M3 BMW. And that's probably before your time. But they had this M3 BMW had a sports package, had a spoiler on the back. He would let me get it.
Starting point is 00:15:48 Any car he had. Now at the time I had really never, I mean I drove and driven a tractor and things that had manual transmissions, but never had a car. He left it with me. He said, well, you're going to learn to drive on this. What is called like 35, 40, $50,000? You start to learn. What? So everything he had, big body Mercedes, let me drive it. Porsche 930 Scrooge, let me have it.
Starting point is 00:16:20 And so he gave me enough because he know he knew that I wanted to be just like him. And if he let me have it for And so he gave me enough because he knew that I wanted to be just like him. And if he let me have it for just a week, he said, my brother gonna go get that. He brought me to his house. First time I'd ever seen a house with a garage. So, you know, he hit the button and he got a three, he got a two and a one. And the garage, the stalls go up and I'm looking in there and I see a Scrooge Port, I see a big body Benz, I see this. And on the wall, I still have one of those. There are these things that you got from Spencer's, which is a novelty store, and it has justification for higher education.
Starting point is 00:16:59 And it had this big old house and it had leading down from the water. It had this five car garage. Man, Dub, man, I saw that. I saw what he had. I wanted it. I had to have it. And I thought I was working hard,
Starting point is 00:17:19 but once I saw that, I went into overdrive. I was possessed to get that. I needed that. That was going to get my grandmother, my sister out of that. My sister hadn't worked since she was in the early twenties. My whole process was my grandmother had worked at the nursing home where she ended up spending the last two years of her life, the very nursing home that she worked at the nursing home where she ended up spending the last the last two years of her life, the very nursing home that she worked at, she was in there. And the lady that she that she used to clean because my grandmother used to was a maid at the nursing home was her roommate. So the lady had been out there, my grandmother had started working out there in the early
Starting point is 00:17:59 seventies. That lady was still there. And she was my grandmother's roommate until my grandmother got really sick. They put a grandma put my grandma in a room by herself. But man, Dub, the only thing I've ever wanted to be in my life was a professional football player. The only thing I ever ever really wanted to do was make my grandmother proud. My proudest is not the Hall of Fame, and it means a lot to me, so I don't wanna diminish that. I'm in a lot of Hall of Fame,
Starting point is 00:18:29 Georgia Sports Hall of Fame, Colorado, the Division II, Savannah State, Savannah State retired my jersey, Glenville High retired me and my brother's jersey because we both wrote a number three. But when people, when I go back home, and people used to say, Mary, tell my grandmother, Mary, you did a great job with them boys.
Starting point is 00:18:48 They so manable. It's yes, ma'am. It's no, ma'am. It's yes, sir. It's no, sir. That was my grandmother's proudest accomplishment. Not she put two boys from a two stoplight town with 3,500 people into the NFL and they make it millions.
Starting point is 00:19:03 That wasn't her accomplishment. To have people say, Mary, you did a great job with those boys. My grandfather died, I was in the third grade. We had no really, my brother became my dominant male figure. And from that point on, I used to have a smart mouth. I got to about nine years of age. And then I just realized it dawned on me one day
Starting point is 00:19:22 what my grandmother had actually done. She had raised her nine and then she took my mom's three. And there's no doubt in my mind, I will go to my grave believing my grandmother loved her three grand more than she did her own. From that point on, Dove, I never gave my grandmother any problems.
Starting point is 00:19:39 I never gave her problems. When we were in high school, we play a ball game, the coach would take me home because granny was home alone. My brother was in college. My sister was out dating my nephew and my grandmother at home. I'm going home. Hey, Sharp, you know, I'm going home. I'll see you. I'll see you all on Monday. Hey, I go out for a little while Saturday night, walk the streets of my home.
Starting point is 00:20:00 Boy, we laughing and talking, you know, had to make that run. You know, I had to do little something. You know, I had to shake the covers for Doc. Oh yeah, you had to get in here. I was shaking the covers for Doc. Because Doc come in, I got to get back home to granted. So I was shaking the covers. But man, Doug, that was the only thing.
Starting point is 00:20:15 I honestly, I can honestly say being there and taking care of my grandmother and making sure everything was okay. And that was, and I just remember going to college when I left for college at Savannah state in 1986, it was, it was, uh, like a joke, like the late last part of July, maybe the first part of August. And I'm getting ready to leave. Cause, uh, my teammate, my high school teammate, he's going to Savannah state
Starting point is 00:20:38 also, and he and his mom picked me up. They blew the horn. Now I got two grocery bags, windDixie shopping bags. That's my luggage. I got everything that I'm going to take to Savannah State. My shoes, I got a couple pair of jeans, I got a couple of IZOZ shirts, my toothbrush, you know, I got some ivory soap. That's what I'm going with. Now I'm thinking my grandmother's going to get up out of bed because she can see me as I'm walking because her bed is like right here and I got to walk past to walk out the door.
Starting point is 00:21:07 I'm thinking my grandmother is going to get up to a baby. OK, make sure you get a get up there. Call your granny. My grandmother never said a word as I walked out the door because she has spent 18 years of her life trying to instill the right thing for Shannon to do. She didn't tell me to go iron my clothes. Shannon, don't drink. Shannon, be respectful. Shannon, do your homework
Starting point is 00:21:29 She said I spent 18 years telling you that another 10-minute speech and I wasn't gonna do you any good I walked out that house. I left that house that at the minute I walked that that house I was a boy in that house the minute that screen door with the screen punched out the minute that door closed I was a grown-ass man. I I was a man. I didn't think of a child anymore. I didn't think of a boy anymore because I was going to Savannah State for two reasons. To get a degree and go play in the NFL. Dub, I didn't know which one was going to happen first, but I knew they was going to happen. I walked out of that house a grown ass man. I thought I was a man. I did things like a man. I needed to make Mary Porter proud. I did things like a man. I needed to make Mary Porter proud.
Starting point is 00:22:04 See, that's what I like, stuff like that. But my upbringing was a little different. I knew I wasn't going to go to the NFL. I knew I wasn't going to go to the NBA. I knew I was going to be a Hall of Famer, and I'm a Hall of Famer of eating ass. So I lost that you. I'm a bad mother imp.
Starting point is 00:22:21 You know, I'm telling you, see, you, NFL Hall of Fame fame that's you this was my calling this is my calling up now you know a lot of people ain't gonna be with it a lot of people gonna be with it I'm just telling you my story that's my hall of fame that's what I'm first night I trust them dub dub you Dub, you speeding, you speeding. You ain't got no seatbelt on. And you got one of them old cars that ain't got no seatbelt, got no seat belts,
Starting point is 00:22:50 no airbags or nothing, damn. Abby, don't you want to get the door? No, for what? Guys say we ain't gonna be on this earth this long. I ain't got time to try to spend my, let her know everything about me, nothing. Oh, Lord. I got to the GD and get it out. I thought I thought like okay, maybe after Like a year what that was something that you build up to be
Starting point is 00:23:15 Ain't no way I took you out to eat You back in the car. I had this one chick. Okay, no lie. She said don't be on I don't sleep on the first night I rolled my I around past 12 let's get to it hey hey that kind of gas dog but but though see it and people laugh bro when I grew up there were there were some women that as the old people to call them talk about they were loose But girls wasn't giving it up on the first day And I'm telling Ocho and Ocho be like, oh who you I'm like, oh, I don't even know how to ask bro, so I just
Starting point is 00:23:56 Hey, they need to start taking the clothes off cuz I ain't trying to take nothing off I take about clothes off go in bed I'm taking off my coat clothes to bed. But I'm taking off my clothes to change to put my sleeping clothes on. I don't even know how to ask. I would even know how to ask her if I don't sex on the first night. That's my specialty.
Starting point is 00:24:11 I'm letting that know off the rift during the text messages. Because see, you work out, you know, NFL, you know, you swole. I'm a BBN. I'm a bad-built nigger. So I like to leave the lights off. a female cut the lights on the relationship over Don't you cut them lights on in my house because why I'm from might be roaches, you know Like no roaches go when you cut the light on they gonna scowl Yeah, you know, I like to leave your lights out for a reason to hide my bad-billed body and my roaches She thank you. Oh, she thank on she thank is me tingling hold my finger built body and my roaches. Duh, duh. She think it's me tingling, holding my finger.
Starting point is 00:24:48 It's them roaches. Duh. You touching me everywhere. I know it. That's being some of my homies. That's right. But see, Duh, you got it. See, you driving around that big boy,
Starting point is 00:25:01 you got that big RR, So you know they straight you straight I ain't got that kind of bread. I ain't got no RR. I'm falling in your footsteps. I'm trying to be like you I ain't got no Rolls Royce. I got a nice car out there. Look it got big rims on it It's nice candy paint, but ain't no mogul in it I got a big wheel too a big wheel I got a big wheel to a big wheel. When the road you pedal, man, I got no bread like you do. I got to I got to try to save my little bit of money. Oh, you'll be tricky. Huh? You'll be tricky when you take a model
Starting point is 00:25:34 today, don't what you spend. What's the day? What you spending on a day? Three dollars. You rich. Well, I think that's a good day. Well, you take I mean, I take my steak and shake. Duh. I mean, if I get, if I get a 50 or $75 steak, she get a 50, $75 steak. I don't drink unless it's my cognac and I'm at home. I don't really drink publicly because I'm driving.
Starting point is 00:26:00 She go to drink or two. Let's just say each drink is about $15. That's 30. We at 180. My ginger ale ain't gonna cost me like $7. That's $14. Maybe we get some sides. I give them $300 plus, you know, let's just say the meal cost 200, 225. I go ahead and make it easy, give them the rest of it and tip and then I get a valet
Starting point is 00:26:25 40, $50 for the car. So I'm at 350. Are you expecting something after you spend that? Most of the time they take Uber, so they go in their way, I'm going mine. So I ain't in no situation. Come here. Right here, right here. I ain't got no baby sugar.
Starting point is 00:26:43 If you ain't got no baby sugar, you can't come to eat. What? Shit. Shit, come here. You run, right here, right here. I ain't got no baby sugar. If you ain't got no baby sugar, you can't come to eat. I'm not gonna get next to her right now. I'll let, hold on, my mama text me something wrong with my son. Let him die. Come be with me.
Starting point is 00:26:57 Let him die. I got to get this in. Come on, Dub. Dub, hey, what about, what about you say, oh, hey, so are you gonna be free tomorrow? And they say, well, I'll see you tomorrow. Tomorrow ain't promised, ain't that what God said? Tomorrow is not promised.
Starting point is 00:27:15 Come here on. Let me hold you for about 30. God has been good, been good to you, right? So, you know, normally, I'm a, you know, I get to I you know I get I get to home base too fast right but guess what them Roe Sparks you put me on too I been getting off. Yeah them Sparks. I been getting off. They the truth. Oh ayy duh them Sparks man I had them Sparks one time so I got up to go to the
Starting point is 00:27:42 bathroom you know watch myself off I come back she look at all in the closet she looking under the bed she all it I like what you looking for you say who helped you cuz I know where no one man did this kind of damage I thought I thought you did I know you did. Woo! I know you did. Boy. Hey. Hey. You. Hey.
Starting point is 00:28:10 Because women know the difference between regular penis and some souped up penis. They know the difference. Yeah. Yeah. The brick hard. Harder than two neck caps. Mm-mm. Mm-mm.
Starting point is 00:28:22 That thing, like the time of the 29. That thing like the like the times of 29. You have that prom wood. You know everybody know what that prom wood is? Bad please. So what I say you begging to me because like you know if I'm taking a chick out on a date I'm spending three four hundred man. You know it's off the rift. Ain't no going no separate ways. Ain't ain't none none of that you coming with me for the rest of the night
Starting point is 00:28:48 We're going Joe I self and then you can go your merry way I think that's I think that's lost That's a lot on this guy will be not dub I mean dub You get to a point now you got like I'm like this I operate dub No means no Maybe means no. Yes means no tomorrow. So I'm gonna be 1000% category for certain. You want this act to happen? You think if I'm if I'm kissing on a girl and all of a sudden she say no, lights on, shirt on, let's go. That's cool, yeah, automatically. But she ain't gonna say that, huh?
Starting point is 00:29:32 Well, hey, I can't say no shit. You say it in short, they gonna do whatever you want. No, they ain't gonna do what they die, though. Hey, that's okay. Hey, I'm good, I've been, at this point in my life, I've been told no a lot and I'm okay. Me too. When they say no, no, no, no, no, no more for me. Because I let them know I'm the real,
Starting point is 00:29:56 you ain't never had great soda like this before. You never had great soda like this. Moving on. Let's talk about this. What's your craziest fan experience you ever had? Me as a fan or somebody coming up to me, somebody coming up to you. Man, it's just, I mean, now, Doug, you're a rock star now. I know, I know. I mean, in the airports. I mean now the people that if I Still you know, like you said, I played 14 years in NFL. I like to think I was a pretty good player I got a gold jacket to confirm that I was pretty good one of us want some Super Bowls
Starting point is 00:30:36 But the celebrity that I've experienced now You him You him that thing is You him. You him. That thing is unbelievable. If somebody would have told me that this was, it was going to be like this, I wouldn't have believed it. I said, how is it going to be more? I'm going to be more of a celebrity now. And I'm in television than I was. And I get it. I'm on television. People see me a lot more now. I'm on ESPN. I have my own thing with Club Shay-Shay and Nightcap. And I think, and Grip, I guess because they get an opportunity to see my face now dub I don't have the helmet
Starting point is 00:31:08 on I don't have all the pants on but man I mean the fans the fans the fans are I can't say this the fans that you meet in the street dub versus the fans that's online this different because I don't get any of the vitriol and all the the snide and comments when people see me they give me love They take pictures they back man. I'm so proud you know they want me to talk to the face timing people want me to talk to their dad and their mom or the brother or something the husband is just all love and It is great that
Starting point is 00:31:43 Not only my people because my community really shows up for me, especially when they see me out, but the white people that give me respect and talking about a club, Shay Shay, and we watch you at Ocho, blah, it's just been a great experience. It's been so great. I couldn't have believed it.
Starting point is 00:31:58 I wouldn't have believed it. And it's awesome. I'm not going to your staggers, but for me, when they come up to me, them niggas be want me to do stand up, come in Walmart. I'll eat my back. Be funny and you better be funny, too. I'm like, come on, man.
Starting point is 00:32:12 Buy a ticket to a show or somebody. I'll give you a show. Now do it right now. Do say trade right now. Then they pull out their phone. But look, I love it. I don't never turn them down because we got them. You know, I wouldn't be in this position. One may know it's the fans that drive our names throughout the world. I don't never turn them down because without them, you know, I wouldn't be in this position where I'm at. You know, it's the fans that drive our names throughout the world. And you know, when I was in Buffalo, I went up there and hollered at my young boy, Keon
Starting point is 00:32:33 Coleman, and white people knew who I was. I mean, it was just like, dang, this is... But you know, the first thing they say though, and you know, oh, that's Buffalo. Hey, hi, Shannon. That's the first thing they say though and you know, oh that's brother Doug. Hey, hi Shannon That's the first thing they say Black people say uh, white people say hi Shannon. Yeah Oh good, you cool guy Doug a lot of times when white people see me is it okay if I call you uh, like sure but I'm like I'm thinking to myself
Starting point is 00:33:01 You older than me we could be bros or something. I know y'all in no situation, I mean there are some situations where, sometimes the person is younger than the actual uncle, there's a situation like that. But no, it's an unbelievable feeling, Doug. It's an unbelievable feeling to get the love and the respect and the appreciation that I've received since I've received since
Starting point is 00:33:25 I've kind of been on my own. Once I parted ways with FS1, you don't really know where your life is headed. I didn't know ESPN. I had talked to Steve and A, but I didn't know that they were as interested as they were. And so I did the one year deal with them. But I was going to do my own thing. Shaysay Media, I was going to do club. Shaysay, me and Jamie Horowitz sat down and concocted an idea and came up with a show called Nightcap. Pitched it to Ocho. He was in from day one.
Starting point is 00:33:57 And the rest is, as they say, is history. Everything that has happened after that has been nothing but a blessing. Yeah, it's funny, you were saying that a while ago when older people called you, that's how it is with me now. Like people older than me, like my uncle older than me, but he called me big homie. Come on, man. I ain't your big homie, but you know, the fame or success they think you have, they look at you like that now.
Starting point is 00:34:23 Every time my uncle called me big homie, I'm like, I'm big homie I'm your nephew man yeah that's that's the thing cuz like when I see when I see my homeboys uh you know bucket and burns they like homeboy you're the same but everything around you has changed drastically and to but that's to, I try to stay as level. I try to be the same guy that they met 40 years ago. I try to be the same guy they met 30 years ago. Yeah, I understand my circumstances. I understand the situation that I'm in now
Starting point is 00:34:53 is a lot different than it was then. I understand I have to act accordingly. I can't do, or sometimes I forget that I'm who I am. And you know, the Laker game not withstanding, I forgot, I'll be bad. I really truly forgot that I was at a game. I, hell, I thought I was on the corner. Just talking ish.
Starting point is 00:35:14 Oh, you going off. You going off. Ooh. Damn, that wasn't my proudest moment. I gotta, being at games after going to basketball games and you see these guys and the way they shoot the ball and the way they do certain things, you have a greater appreciation. I think you have a greater appreciation. Excuse me.
Starting point is 00:35:39 When you see a particular sport in person, you go to a basketball game, you go to a football game and you go to a baseball game and you see these, these athletes, these prime, even WNBA, you have a greater appreciation for the athlete that's involved in, in, in said sport. And so, uh, yeah, I definitely let my emotions, uh, get the best of me. And, uh, that's something I promise I won't ever put myself in again. So now when I take my ass to the game, bub, I just sit down there and eat my chicken tenders and keep my damn mouth closed. You know, I learned a valuable lesson too, about two years ago.
Starting point is 00:36:17 You know, getting on here running my mouth and messed around and bumped into Dwight Howard in person. You know how you walk in sometime and you accidentally see a snake and it stalks you? That's how I roll with Dwight. I walk right past him, didn't know it. Then he said something like, oh, get on your ass. I jump. It was Dwight Howard. And every muscle in his face, I'm like, Marco Messi, he made me get on that show right there and there and have a little debate with him But I told the world I'm telling you my heart will be like a month But you didn't show no fear though, I didn't show it but my heart felt
Starting point is 00:37:00 I was scared. You were gonna hit him but nothing in the stomach Now he was sitting down. So I was gonna okay, you know, I would have got a quick one in I was scared. Dub, you were gonna hit him with nothing in the stomach. Nah, he was sitting down. So I was gonna, you know, I would've got a quick one in. I was gonna run. I ain't gonna lie. I was gonna give up. I was gonna give up. Fuck, I ain't never wanna fight. Man to man. I ain't never wanna fight. I'm 0-1-70.
Starting point is 00:37:18 Have you actually been in a fight? Yeah. I get my ass toe up every time. What, what, okay, what caused you to fight? Run, I get my ass toe up every time. What what? Okay, what caused you to fight? Run in my mouth. I talk a big game. I might bite my boy loud, but my bite ain't vicious. Yeah, see, I think the thing is you weren't in a place of like, you didn't really want to fight. No. So I think that's the thing. So it kind of caught you off guard that you found yourself in that situation. But if there is a situation where somebody's gotten you agitated,
Starting point is 00:37:46 I think you bring a different level of aggression to it. Last time I had a fight, I got knocked out. I woke up, dude, they pissed on me. True story, true story. Don't do pissed on me, man. Come on, Doug. You got to get him back, Doug. You got to fight till you win one.
Starting point is 00:38:08 He in jail. That's my get back. Oh, OK. You know, I put them folks on it. 40 years! 40 years! Doug, you dying to buy a cut of dude? Every time he come up for parole, I make my way right back down there and talk again. Look at them legos he's been sitting in his family members. He ain't
Starting point is 00:38:29 done with me. He ain't learned nothing yet. Leave him in now. I'm telling you the truth. But as an NFL Hall of Fame, when you see players thinking they should be in the Hall of Fame, what kind of player do you have to be to meet your criteria to be in the Hall of Fame. Who, like what kind of player do you have to be to meet your criteria to be in the Hall of Fame? Duh, I even, I stopped talking about it because what started happening is because I'm in the Hall of Fame, the headline always read,
Starting point is 00:39:00 NFL Hall of Famer Shannon Sharp says X, Y, and Z. I understand that my word when I'm talking about football carries a little bit more weight than somebody that didn't win, that wasn't the player that I played at, that wasn't a Hall of Famer that didn't win championships. So for me, I don't even discuss it. I thought I knew. I thought I knew what a Hall of Famer was
Starting point is 00:39:22 until I saw guys coming up and they had to wait two and three and four and five years. I said, well, I don't know what a Hall of Fame is. I said, I know the guy that I played against. That guy's supposed to be in there. And then I saw guys that you weren't on our scouting report that we had to worry about go in on the first or the second ballot. So I just, I just, I just stopped.
Starting point is 00:39:46 I just stopped. Just stopped. You talking about it, Doug. You talking about my brother who I, who I think deserves to be in the Hall of Fame. Absolutely. Don't ask me about any other player. Absolutely. You know, you played in the area where they were headhunted.
Starting point is 00:39:58 Did John Elway ever throw one across the middle? You alligators on me? No, no. And that's what caused me to get knocked out a lot of times because I wouldn't all the alligator army or I wouldn't pretend like let it sail over my head. Orlando Thomas knocked me out once in Minnesota back in 96. I saw it on YouTube a couple of weeks ago and he intercepted the pass. Got knocked out in the championship game against the jet against the Jets Yeah, I probably there's some times a dub I probably shoulda
Starting point is 00:40:31 Short-armed it make it seem like I was a T-rex and I couldn't catch it But my pride my pride wouldn't let my pride wouldn't let me do it Now you know it the game is so no I hate to, but you know, this era now is not your era. You know, they protect the quarterback a whole lot more now. What kind of y'all, what kind of y'all you think Elway will have in this era? You and him. I mean, all those quarterbacks, I mean, you look at the Marinos, you look at the Elways, you look at the guys that put up yards back then, because back then there was, you know,
Starting point is 00:41:05 the incidental contact, they didn't call it. In order for you to get past interference, the guy had to, the quarterback had to be looking your way and he was holding, you could attack the quarterback. There was not an area in which you couldn't hit the quarterback. You can hit him in his knee, you can hit him in his ankle, you can hit him in his back.
Starting point is 00:41:22 The only, but now the quarterback, you can only hit him from the top to the bottom of his letter, of his number. You can't go below the waist, the Tom Brady rule, but I understand why you want to make the sport as safer as you can. You understand you know more about, we know more about head trauma. We know more about the repeated hits to the head and what it caused long term. And so I think once we know that you should try to do better and protect the players. It's just like the car. That's why they added the seat belts. That's why they add side airbags, front airbags. That's
Starting point is 00:41:57 why they, you know, they moved the gas tank and from the back to the side. When we know more, we should do more. When we can make a game or a sport safer, we should absolutely try to do that. So I understand it, and you're right, it's not the same sport, but I understand why it's not the same sport. It's a rumors going around. Do you see Coach Prime coaching the Dallas Cowboys
Starting point is 00:42:21 in the near future? Ooh. Do you think Jerry will make that move? I don't. Um, I do. I think that time could coach in the league. I do think he could coach. Um, but time old school, uh, he bought all that cell phone and guys checking the email and the Instagram and all that stuff.
Starting point is 00:42:44 I look, I understand guys are trying to gather or trying to. And I, and I don't, I don't want, you know, come off of one of them curmudgeons, but guys, sometimes I feel trying to do too much. And they lose sight of that. Your primary objective is to play football and building a brand. If you win, it's easy to build a brand. Now, what's the hard part is build a brand while you lose it. Because what is your brand if you're losing?
Starting point is 00:43:10 And so that's my thing on that. I'm glad I don't play now. It would bother me that guys wouldn't take it as serious as I think they needed to. That's the thing that irked me the most guys didn't take Marius, uh, um, meeting serious walkthroughs practice, bro. I'm trying to get better. And then you wonder why you're not playing. You wonder why we lost the game.
Starting point is 00:43:39 Cause you bulljabbing the meeting. You sleep because you bulljabbing and walkthrough you bulljabbed their practice. And then you expect to come. And this is what I tell people all the time, Doug, you sleep because you bull driving a walkthrough, you bull drive the practice and then you expect to come. And this is what I tell people all the time, Doug, you win the game Monday through Friday. You don't win the game on Sunday, you win it, when it through Friday, the preparation. And that's that's what you that's what you have to that's what you have to do.
Starting point is 00:43:58 And so that's that's what anything I mean, people think that we come on, that I come on the show and I do nightcap or I do club Shae Shae. But if they knew the hours that I put in to get ready for the research that we've done on each particular guest, I think that's why the guests appreciate coming on club Shae Shae, because they know I've done extensive research. My team, we've done as much research as we possibly can on this individual. We want to make sure we give them their reply was we want to make sure that we show them their respect and give them the praise that they've earned. Not that they deserve what they've earned.
Starting point is 00:44:30 And I think the guests come on and they appreciate that. And they open up to me a lot of times in ways they haven't on other shows. And they don't they don't drink enough of that, Doug. They don't drink enough of that to do. But normally they do't they don't drink enough of that dog. They don't drink enough of that to do but normally they do take they do take a
Starting point is 00:44:49 Bottle of to whip him which I'm more than happy to uh to let them have Miss Pat she's gonna be my guest tomorrow. Oh, don't dub. She was unbelievable. She was unbelievable If she's gonna be great, it's good. It was one of it was one of the best episodes that I've ever done This was the best episode that I've ever done. She was amazing And I can't wait. I can't wait for you guys to see miss Pat tomorrow Oh, man, you know, we're gonna check that out. But but your cowboys Oh who said again my way your cowboy. I'm a Buffalo Bay get in my way. Your cowboy. I'm a Buffalo Bill. You from Texas? No. I've been to all the cowboy games in the world. They ain't never invited me out to nothing. I went to that Buffalo Game Bill. Guess
Starting point is 00:45:33 what? They invited me to come back. So I'm a Bill now. I'm going wherever the money going. That's where I'm going now. They trying to do a deal with the dude. They trying to do a deal with the dude? It's shit, an influencer deal. Here I am. Jerry. But see the Cowboys, they're so big, they don't have, people want to attach themselves to them. They don't feel they need to attach themselves to anybody. Well I sure. They ain't hurting me.
Starting point is 00:46:02 I'm going to go get this money on. You should. You should. He heard me. I thought you don't get this money on. You should. You should. And that's and hopefully you've gotten everything out of this partnership that you expected. Hopefully we're delivering everything that we promised you that we would. As far as infrastructure, as far as producers. And if there's anything like you got my direct number, so there's anything that doesn't meet what you think it should. just reach out to me and I'll make sure we get it corrected.
Starting point is 00:46:27 Oh we good. Let's get to the part of the show I do the hell naw segment I'm gonna ask you something and you let me know if it's a hell naw or not. Okay Okay Spending the night over a girl house. Oh hell no Man, I I don't know how you are done, but I spent a night Night 1993 was the last time I closed my eyes at a woman's house Big and said he kicked in the door waving the faux faux. Well, he swung the door open waving that chopper. You got right. I'm good.
Starting point is 00:47:10 I'm good. I'm good. I'm good with that, Doug. Look, I promised God after the first time that I wasn't going to do that no more. And here I go one year later. Nah, it was three years later. And I did the exact same thing. I said, God, I know I promised you, I say you know what I promise you, you know promises like pride trust being an easily broken dub I think that I say lord i'm gonna commit to you. I'm gonna I'll say I'm gonna get paid You scared? I ain't gonna do it Hell no
Starting point is 00:47:40 Sucking the woman toes. Oh hell no Absolutely not what you? You don't cook a plate like that? Unless you got some barbecue sauce and vinegar on them. They better be pig's feet. That's the only thing I'm sucking on. Neck bone, ox tail. Hell nah, I bet I'll do that. Going down below.
Starting point is 00:48:02 When the first time y'all get ready to do the do. Oh hell no. The first come on, Doug. Ain't nobody y'all do see y'all young boys messing the game up. Y'all young boy messing the game up because y'all doing this kind of stuff. Y'all. It's good to go. Y'all got the girl booty open up like curtains. Got to. Oh, yes. Oh, yes. Yes. Y'all driving the price up. open up like curtains got to oh yes
Starting point is 00:48:26 y'all driving the price up I ain't doing that I ain't doing that now hey if you came in John and your gas was unleaded you leaving the lid oh man and support that y'all gonna say, you know what? Nah, not the first night, Doug. OK, maybe like two, OK, y'all kick it. Like two, three months in. Why that long? It's 60 days. Two months. No.
Starting point is 00:48:54 Out the rip? I won't hear it on the first night, too. OK, yeah, for sure. OK, I said what I was saying. I said, we thank you. Ain't it better to receive than give? It ain't. Oh, baby, I got a different'm saying, we thinking. Ain't it better to receive than give? Oh baby, I got a different Bible than you did. I took a chick out on a date,
Starting point is 00:49:11 we went back to her crib to do what her do, true story. We went back to her crib to do what we gotta do. Soon we go in her apartment, it's an old woman in a hospital bed hooked up to a Ossican tank, true story. I didn't want to judge, I'm like, man, this ho still live with her mama, I ain't going to judge. But I feel bad though, because when I found out her mama was on hospitals. I did the best thing I could ever do. I turned that woman hospital bed
Starting point is 00:49:34 around the opposite direction and told her was wrong hole bubba dub. Dub, come on, man. You can't hit nobody in front of their dying mama, grandma. I spent $115 on that demo. I wouldn't forget to let this go. I gotta pray for you, dub. I need it because I had to get it in. And look, I don't regret a damn thing. That was some of the best chicken I ever egged in her mama's freedom.
Starting point is 00:50:10 Nah, Dub, I got, hey, look, if somebody, look, I don't, I'm scared. I already know I'm gonna get caught. She can't get out the bed. She can't move. Dub, you ain't, you weren't afraid. You ever would like go to somebody's house and the girl's the girls like come on
Starting point is 00:50:25 Let's do it and you know people at home. I can't do that though Now maybe you better man to me on I Got to get it in any way I can I'm not gonna be sitting here playing with you taking you out to eat And you want to kiss me on my cheek good night. I'll be down You got $70 what for steak in your? You think I did another one, too? You feel burst calories You go so you go out with anticipation every having sex on the first day every Good ass be honest with me. Let me know do you guess you guys want or do you want to get to know me?
Starting point is 00:51:06 Number one. What you say? Number one. That's what I want. I want it right now. We can leave you behind right now. OK. What would lead you to want to get to know them better?
Starting point is 00:51:22 What would that? If she going to bring up during the date that she ain't behind on rent, cause women throw hints, that throw hints, you're doing your thing, everybody ain't able. So them the one I get away from. When they, time to go and I really get shit dealt.
Starting point is 00:51:40 Oh, it's time to go. Them time right there run me out. I got a little change now. So, you know, I had to move up from the $50 to the $60. Yeah. What's the difference from a $50 and a $60? But them $50. If you start hitting around like, woo,
Starting point is 00:51:56 boy, these bills, they, ooh, time's hard out here. Block. Hey, guess what? They about to get a lot harder, cause I'm up out here hey man oh man I just want to thank you man for stopping by the solar day man thank you man I think you've had me on dub I really appreciate it like I said hopefully you're getting everything out of this partnership that I told you you
Starting point is 00:52:22 would get yes I appreciate everything that you're doing. Keep doing your thing, bro. Much success. Hey, y'all, make sure y'all go, if Bubba Dubb is in a city near you, y'all go check out the brother. The brother's hilarious, does great work, hardworking man. Bro, I appreciate you being a part
Starting point is 00:52:37 of the Shade Shade Media Company, guys. Appreciate that. Appreciate you, I'm gonna have a blessed night. I know you and Ocho for the crank up later on. Hey, hold on, hold on, hold on, before I let you go, before I let you go. What are Lakers gonna do? Man, if, if, if, if, I like the move that JJ did
Starting point is 00:52:53 by putting D-Lo, having D-Lo come off the bench because now he's going against the second unit he's able, and Austin Reeves doesn't have to guard the best perimeter player. So now he has some energy to give you that work on the offensive end. So I like the addition. AD keep playing like he playing Bronco keep doing this thing. I still think we need a piece. We do. We still need it. We still need another. He came on your show. He came on your show. We need to go get Howard. We need to, we need him. Spence Hayes
Starting point is 00:53:19 ain't it fam. Hayes ain't it. Yeah. Yeah. How, even though you're old, but I know how to make how it work. How it weaknesses is hoes. I have every hoes line up in LA, got enough for him, he gonna ball. That's his weakness, see, you gotta tell it to your players. You gotta know what they like and what they don't like. How it like hoes, I'm gonna put hoes in the building.
Starting point is 00:53:42 And roast porks. They definitely there. See, y'all begging me, y'all at least y'all begging me, after least y'all begging me because I wouldn't end up like them all and then run them brothels.
