President Trump and China's President Xi held a high-stakes call over whether TikTok will come under U.S. control.
The Chinese video app sits on the phones of half the U.S. adult population.
It was banned by Congress as a national security risk.
President Trump has been extending the deadline to ban it.
A statement from President Trump on his social media platform,
The President Trump said, I just completed a very productive call with President Xi of China.
We made progress on many very important issues, including the approval of the TikTok deal.
We will be speaking again by phone.
