Starting point is 00:00:00 I'm Jessica Eddinger. CNBC, Wall Street opens Tuesday morning after a record setting Monday. The NASDAQ touching a fresh intraday record high. Major averages all in the green to start the new week of trading the Dow on Monday up 114 points. Quarter percent, IBM shares leading the way. They were up 3%. The S&P 500 index was up 13 points. The NASDAQ was up 98 points, almost a half percent. NVIDIA shares were in the green on Monday up three quarters of 1%. Investors are waiting for the latest on inflation coming Wednesday and Thursday. There are whispers. The numbers won't be too bad, although inflation is currently sitting right at almost 3%. The market's insisting it's more or less past the inflation crisis. I mean, I even saw some work suggesting there could be a downside surprise in CPI for some technical reasons.
Starting point is 00:00:54 CNBC's Mike Santoli. A weakening job market has been on a lot of Americans' minds, and their confidence in finding a job has hit a record low in the new New York Fed survey. New York Fed saying that the probability of finding a job fell to the lowest level of the series, and that's in 2013, and that's almost 6% down. The probability of losing a job rising to 14.5%. CNBC's senior economics reporter Steve Leesman. Apple's biggest event of the year is set for Tuesday. new iPhones are expected, but iPhone fans might want to wait another year or two. The first major new iPhone design since 2020.
Starting point is 00:01:33 This is a super thin model. The Internet has started calling the iPhone Air. We'll see what it's actually called at the event. We're expecting a foldable iPhone in 2026 and a radical new design in 27 for the iPhone's 20th anniversary. As for artificial intelligence, not really expecting much on that front. The real AI update is coming next year when, Apple says it's going to ship the AI update to Siri it had to delay this year. CNBC's Steve Kovac, Tesla's market share in the U.S.
Starting point is 00:02:03 has dropped to its lowest in eight years as a percentage of electric vehicles, according to Cox Automotive Group. All the other automakers that sell EVs, they're all picking up a little bit of share at the expense of Tesla. But whether it's General Motors, and it's now number two in the U.S. or Hyundai or Volkswagen or Ford, and the foreign automakers from Europe are also selling EVs here, BMW Mercedes. They're all picking up market share. And most of that guys is coming from the fact that as the EV tax credit is expiring, there are some incredible, incredible deals out there. CNBC's Phil LeBoe, Google's YouTube is celebrating broadcasting its first NFL game.
Starting point is 00:02:45 YouTube's first exclusive NFL game was Friday. It was in Brazil between the Kansas City Chiefs and the L.A. Chargers in it brought in 17.3 million viewers, about 16 million of them in the U.S. So are those ratings a win for YouTube? Well, viewership is down from the 28.3 million viewers who watch the season opener game, the prior day on NBC and Peacock, and down from Netflix's Christmas Day games, which averaged 24 million viewers. But viewership was roughly in line with ESPN's average Monday night football games. CNBC's Julia Borsden. Robin Hood shares soared Monday more than 14%. It's being added to the S&P 500.
Starting point is 00:03:22 index along with App Lovin. Its shares were up 10%. The companies will replace market access holdings and Caesars Entertainment on the morning of September 22nd. On Tuesday's watch list, earnings are coming from Oracle and GameStop. Apple holds that iPhone event,
