Wall Street opens Thursday morning after the Fed held interest rates steady and President Trump slapped a 50% tariff on copper imports, which can make many products more expensive, including newly built homes. The Dow fell 171 points, three tenths of a percent. 3M shares let it lower. They were down more than 3%. The S&P 500 index down seven points. The NASDAQ was in the green. It was up 31 points. Fresh record high. Nvidia shares were up more than 2% on Thursday. This is a market that's kind of overbought and that's not a terrible thing. That's not a fatal thing. After the closing bell, a number of earnings reports Microsoft out with better than expected quarterly results. Shares were higher in after hours trading. Facebook parent Metta shares higher
Starting point is 00:01:21 in after hours trading as well, strong quarterly results. It added daily active users and it's pushing hard into artificial intelligence. The company's spending on AI could be the big headline. Zuckerberg writing about his new focus on personal super intelligence, driving the investment of hundreds of billions of dollars into compute and quote, the most elite and talent dense team in the industry. Now this comes on the heels of the company investing $14 billion into scale AI CNBC's Julia Borsten Robin Hood shares up in after hours trading on
Starting point is 00:01:55 better than expected quarterly results. Qualcomm with better than expected revenue and earnings, but shares fell after hours on disappointing demand. Ford shares were down in after hours trading on the tariff impact of $800 million in the quarter. Hershey shares were higher on strong quarterly results, but your candy fix will cost more. We will see some increase in prices going forward. That's Hershey CEO Michelle Buck.
Starting point is 00:02:21 She talked about tariffs on CNBC. The biggest place we're feeling the tariff impact is cocoa. We cannot grow cocoa in the U.S. And I was pleased to hear Secretary Lutnick specifically call out cocoa. So I'm optimistic about what might be to come relative to cocoa and a potential exemption. As we look at cocoa inflation and rising prices, certainly over the long term, we are committed to covering cocoa inflation
