I'm Jessica Eddinger, CNBC.
Wall Street with a rough start for this new month of December.
Major averages all in the red.
The Dow down 216 points.
It's off.
It's earlier low.
Merck shares leading it lower.
They're down almost 2% this afternoon.
The S&P 500 index down 16.
The NASDAQ's down 57 points.
Invidia shares have turned higher after opening lower.
They're up one and a half.
half percent this afternoon. Bitcoin down 6 percent on pace for its worst day since last March.
It's been hovering around 83,000. On this Cyber Monday, shoppers are looking for discounts on
tech items and buying a lot online. Early numbers show Black Friday sales were strong.
40 percent of Americans are almost 74 million are expected to shop today, according to the National
Retail Federation, making it the second most popular.

between Thanksgiving and today. Adobe specs that today will be the biggest online shopping
day of the year with $14.2 billion spent. That would be up 6.3% over last year's Cyber Monday.

may all be interested, but Paramount may be President Trump's choice as the new owner of CNN's
parent company. You don't want to feel like an administration is rooting for one over another.
It's been pretty open. I mean, Trump has pretty much said he thinks the Ellison's are good people.
He likes them. He likes what they're doing with CBS and CBS News so far installing Barry Weiss there
and a conservative ombudsman. The, you know, the reality of the situation is not wrong.
The Ellison family does seem to have the upper hand here.
You have people like Elizabeth Warren openly calling out Paramount.
They just agreed to distribute a rush hour movie on behalf of the president because he asked them to.
