Starting point is 00:00:00 I'm Jessica Ettinger, CNBC. Markets are mixed in midday trading. Now the Dow setting a fresh record high. It's up 334 points today, almost three quarters of a percent. Bank stocks are leading the Dow higher today. The S&P 500 index has slipped into the red. The NASDAQ also lowered down 126 points. That's just about a half a percent.
Starting point is 00:00:27 Chipmaker AMD shares are higher. CEO Lisa Sue telling CNBC AI demand is insatiable. Computing is a limiting factor in how much people can adopt AI. And you can see that in a number of different places. And so, yes, you have to invest ahead of the curve so that you can get the entire user base on there. But if you just take a look at the growth in users, and not just at Open AI, but across the entire AI ecosystem, we're seeing that growth. And we're seeing that growth because there is true productivity coming at the other end of it. And, you know, from that standpoint, you know, I think we are all, like I said, we're disciplined business people, but we see an incredible opportunity in front of us.
Starting point is 00:01:07 AMD CEO Lisa Sue on CNBC. President Trump meeting with Wall Street CEOs and more important people tonight at the White House for dinner. CEOs of J.P. Morgan, the NASDAQ, Blackstone, Morgan Stanley, BlackRock, and Goldman Sachs. All of those leaders are expected to be here tonight. And this dinner comes at a time when the president, is increasingly thinking about the issue of affordability telling Fox News in an interview yesterday that he is prepared to lower some tariffs in order to make some products more affordable for Americans. Here's what he said. We're going to lower some tariffs. We're going to have some coffee come in. We're going to take care of all this stuff very quickly, very easily.
Starting point is 00:01:48 It's surgical. It's beautiful to watch. But our costs are way lower. Now, we do expect some cameras to be allowed into this dinner tonight with the Wall Street executives guys. So at least some portion of this will be visible to the public. We'll see who's there, and we'll see what the president has to say to them. CNBC's Aiman Javers. Mortgage demand from homebuyers last week hit his highest since September, even with rising mortgage rates.
Starting point is 00:02:11 The average rate on a 30-year fixed home loan is about 6.3% today, according to Mortgage News Daily. And some experts say it may be because sellers are dropping their prices. No mega-million's winner last night. Friday night's jackpot is $960 million. Jessica Eddinger, CNBC.
