Starting point is 00:00:00 I'm Jessica Eddinger, CNBC. Wall Street is mixed this morning. The major averages each opened at new record highs, and the Dow is building on its. It's up 296 points, a half percent, 3M shares leading it higher this morning. They're up more than 2%. The S&P 500 index is up five points. It's the NASDAQ that's in the red, down 58 points a quarter percent. Invidia shares falling 1 and 3 quarters percent this morning.
Starting point is 00:00:30 morning. Investors liked NVIDIA's investment in Open AI, and that sparked a global chip stock rally. The market has gone farther and faster than most expected. You know, some of the wild parts of the market are as wild as they were in 2021. You know, if you just look at the alternative power, the robotics and automation, the crypto, the quantum, like all that stuff is fully frothed out. CNBC's Mike Santoli. Gold with yet another all-time high today. $824 an ounce, as some investors are a little nervous.
Starting point is 00:01:04 There is this underlying skittishness that is there. You don't see it in the S&P at the moment, but I do think when it comes to things like gold, I think that's where you see some of that express itself. T.D. Cowans, Lisa Thomas, on CNBC. President Trump is in New York City for the U.N. General Assembly, but he will meet with top Democrats in Washington to hear their health care demands,
Starting point is 00:01:28 as the government's poised to run out of money and shut down a week from tonight. Grocery prices are rising. The latest CPI Consumer Price Index numbers show grocery prices hit their highest in three years last month. They're 29% higher than before COVID. As the immigration crackdown continues, supplies of produce are being impacted now as the cost of labor there increases. Amazon facing off against the Federal Trade Commission over what the FTC calls a deceptive practice, making it hard for Amazon Prime members to easily cancel their subscriptions
Starting point is 00:02:01 as civil trial is beginning. Disney says Jimmy Kimmel Live will be back on the air tonight after a brief suspension over comments related to the slain conservative commentator Charlie Kirk. Disney CEO Bob Iger was a mentor to Candles. Co-CEO Kevin Meyer.

Starting point is 00:02:33 about a third of its flight attendance as it cuts flights. The Nike Skims joint venture will launch on Friday, retail dives saying it includes seven collections of athleisure wear to be sold on both the Nike and Skim's websites and in some select retail stores.
