And in today's episode, I'm bringing you some expressions that use the verb estar. And what I like about these expressions is that they are very useful because you can use them in your day-to-day conversations. Actually, recently, in the team, we have been working on creating more a coffee break with type of videos for coffee break TV. Starting point is 00:00:51 If you are not a member yet, but would like to, you can visit coffeebreaktivy.com. But well, in this episode, we're going to be looking at other expressions. In this episode, we are going to be looking at other expressions. Three expressions in total and the three of them use the verb start. We'll see the first one. The first one is
Starting point is 00:01:20 Estar Asta in La Sopa. I am a big fun of having soup any time of the year. So I feel I have to start with This literally means to be even in the soup. If something is even in the soup, it means that it's everywhere. We use this idiom to express that someone or a certain topic is everywhere. It's mainstream. Let's see one example.
Starting point is 00:01:58 Taylor Swift and his concertos, they're still in la Sopa Taylor Swift and his concerts means
Starting point is 00:02:07 Taylor Swift and her concerts and then we have our expression They
Starting point is 00:02:13 are they are everywhere they ask Taylor Swift and her concerts
Starting point is 00:02:21 are everywhere they are mainstream perfect that was our first expression the next
Starting point is 00:02:30 one is Estar Al Loro. For example, Me Encanta
Starting point is 00:02:37 Estar Al Loro of the ultimas tendencies. Here we are using
Starting point is 00:02:44 the idiom Estar al Loro which literally means to be to the
Starting point is 00:02:52 parrot. Of course this doesn't make any sense in English. This expression means
Starting point is 00:02:58 to keep yourself updated about a particular topic or that you are aware of something that goes on about something. So then, Me Encaanta Estar al-Loro of Las Ultimas Tendizias, means that I love to be up-to-date the latest trends, or I love to be in the know about the latest trends.
Starting point is 00:03:23 So you like to be keep in the loop of what's going on related to the latest. trends, the last tendencies. Let's see one more example. Estas
Starting point is 00:03:38 al-a-loro de la situation political. Here we are using start a loto and
Starting point is 00:03:44 then de la situation political of the political situation. So this
Starting point is 00:03:49 can be translated as are you aware of the political situation? Do you
Starting point is 00:03:54 keep yourself updated with the political situation? So as
Starting point is 00:03:59 you can see, Estar a lot is a very useful expression. Now, if someone not is a loro of something that's after in the or in other words, they don't know what's mainstream,
Starting point is 00:04:17 what's going on, then we can use another expression. Estar in las nubes. Estar in las nubes or to be in the clouds is used to say that someone is distracted or not paying attention or that they don't know much about a certain popular topic. Let's see an example.
Starting point is 00:04:45 Como no says who is that you're in the news? How do not know who is that gives us our context? It means how is it possible that you don't know who that actor is. And then we have our expression. Estes in las nubes. You have your head in the clouds. How is it possible, no,
Starting point is 00:05:10 that you don't know who that actor is? You have your head in the clouds. We can also use Estar in Las Nouvees as to be distracted. For example, Los Travadores are in Las Nubes those Biernes for the
Starting point is 00:05:26 Tard. Los workers are distracted. Los Viernes for the day.
Starting point is 00:05:37 On Friday afternoons. Okay, perfect. Then to wrap up, we have seen three expressions using Estar.
Starting point is 00:05:47 Estar Asta in the soup to be mainstream, to be everywhere. Estar a loro.
Starting point is 00:05:56 to be up to date, and to be distracted. Well, well, that's all for this video.
