Okay, let's get on with the lesson.
What's what you have
appeared, Mark?
Well, a text
very interesting.
Yes,
I mean,
I've got
much the text of
today.
With some
some expressions
interesting
too.
Yes,
we're going to
see now.
Well,
before,
before I'm
going to
explain the
text in English.
Okay,
so as we
join this
conversation,
Rory is
already working
away in the
attic cleaning
in preparation
for Alejandro's
arrival.
Maria arrives
unexpectedly,
explaining that
they had made a
mistake when
they were
organizing
their work schedule
and that's where she works as a lifeguard at the beach
and there turned out to be one too many people at work.
Sienpre-trapachmos of three,
so we've done down to that there's over a little bit
stressed with all the cleaning
he's having to do as a result of Alejandro's staying in the hotel.
He's been shut up in the attic,
cleaning, organizing boxes
and indeed not talking to a single soul.
So he feels his Spanish is suffering too.
Maria says that it's his responsibility to do the cleaning, as it's his friend who's coming.
And Rory accepts this, although he didn't expect it to be such hard work.
Once more, he seems to be allergic to the dust.
His eyes are watering, and he's finding it hard to breathe.
These caches viegers me dieran the eyes and me awoke at respiration.
Maria suggests that they open the windows and that he has a break.
She'll go and get some things for breakfast, and they can eat.
eat them calmly. Then they'll get back to work and together they'll clean the room more quickly.
While Rory is very grateful to Maria, he does feel sorry that she's having to waste her day off,
cleaning the attic with him. However, Maria agrees that it's too much work for one person on his own
and perhaps Tia Consuelo didn't realize this. This reminds Rory that Consuelo has also asked him
to do something else. He has to label all the boxes and to take an inventory of everything
and he's beginning to regret ever starting the process.
He had things much easier working in the reception.
With what bien that I was saying to
abitations and sunriending in reception.
Maria can't quite believe that they've got to open up all the boxes,
list the items and label them.
But she's not put off.
She suggests that she goes and gets the items they need
and they'll tackle the job after they've eaten.
She also asks if Rody wants her to pick up something for his allergy
and suggests some eyedrops,
along with labels and a pen to write on the labels.
As Maria heads off to the coffee and the pharmacy, the conversation finishes.
Well, it's a conversation very interesting, no?
Desilgoes that.
There's a phrase that me has called a little bit of the attention.
Yes, which is the last part when Maria says,
oh, desire conceded.
Deso conceded.
Yes.
You can't explain a little this phrase, for favor.
Well, we're going to put us in situation.
I'm sure that you've seen the
movie of Disney Aladdin.
Aladdin, yeah.
And also other versions of this
movie, because no exist
only one version of Disney?
Well,
you remember, the genie of the lampara
that you conceded three
desires?
What is what
does the genie when
concede one of these
desires?
Well, it's in English.
Your wish is my command.
There you go.
The wish is granted.
All of a sudden.
Very, Deso concededio.
Deseo conceded.
Okay, so first of all, when I saw this expression, I looked at Deso, and I thought,
Deso is from the verb, desire.
And it's the first person singular, meaning I wish.
Or I desire.
And then the concededo, of course, meaning granted.
So I wish, granted.
It just sounded a little funny.
But now, of course, I've realized that that deseo is a noun, of course.
So, Deso Concededido.
Your wish is my command.
Your wish is granted.
Your wishes will come true, whatever you want.
Thank you very much, Mark.
Well, it's very interesting.
Of course, there are much things in the text of what we can
talk, but for today, for this version
Corta, the preview version, is all for today.
