Starting point is 00:00:00 Welcome to the fantastic Caza del Tesoro The Coffee Break Join us for a virtual treasure hunt Across Europe, episode three. In this mini-series, Mark is on a virtual treasure hunt across Europe,
Starting point is 00:00:19 as he follows the clues left for him by the Coffee Break team. And we're inviting you to join me on this quest. We started in Glasgow and we are passing through three checkpoints in total,
Starting point is 00:00:31 each of which will provide us with a clue to reach the next one. Last time we traveled to a city known for its English garden and beer, and that's where we're starting today's episode. Stay tuned to find out how you can enter our competition and win some amazing prizes. But before that, it's time to reveal clue number three. And to reveal that clue, we're delighted to welcome Annabel. What about, Annabel? Very bien, what, Mark?
Starting point is 00:01:04 Very well, very emotional. Yes, in this car of the treasured. Yes, exactly, exactly. So Annabel has joined us for a coffee break many times before, and you've also been part of all our videos on the Coffee Break Club. Yes, yes, yes. And it's great to have you back in the studio. I think we should get straight on with our clue.
Starting point is 00:01:22 Pista number three. So the Pista, the clue is, Junto to the mar where the port resplandece, a guardiana vigil while the day crece. With jabon, pescado, and a fort in the mar, a city of cultures and a port without par some words
Starting point is 00:01:44 very interesting that's, some idea? Could be, but we're going to let us let the piece perfect.
Starting point is 00:01:53 The first sentence is Junto to the where the port resplandece Okay, so Junto at the sea joined to the sea
Starting point is 00:02:04 almost where the port where the port or the harbor is resplendent. And there, a guardiana vigila, Mianra, so a guardiana.
Starting point is 00:02:19 One guardiana would be a guardian. It's specifically a female guardian, it looks like, yeah. And what is she doing? Vigila. Vigila. So that's the verb vigilar. It means to watch over.
Starting point is 00:02:32 That is. Okay. Mientras el dia crece as the day dawns as the day grows literally. And then, con jabon, pescado and a fort in la mar. So with jabon and soap, strange,
Starting point is 00:02:50 pescado, fish, and a ferte, a ferte, the word means strong, but what's unfurte? It's a for it. Oh, of course, yeah. A fort.
Starting point is 00:03:02 In la mar. En la mar. Annabelle. Annabelle. Is it not Elmar? Well, at the beginning, the first clue, we can see Juno Al Mar. So it's masculine. But Mar can also be feminine, especially in poetry.
Starting point is 00:03:16 Ah, right. Okay, so it just means the same thing. It's still the sea. Yes. So we are going to use Mar in the feminine form when it's poetry, but also for sailors and when it's like sailors-related phrases. Ah, okay. So there, then we are going to use Marr as.
Starting point is 00:03:35 feminine. For example, we have Altamar, in Altamar. In Altamar, in high seas. I guess in English, sometimes in sailors' terms, we might refer to things as females, particularly
Starting point is 00:03:51 ships and the sea, I guess, as well. That's nice. Okay, in Lamar. So con javon, soap, pescado, fish, and a fort in the sea, perhaps on an island. And then the final line. Right. This is
Starting point is 00:04:11 a city of cultures and a porto sin par. So I guess we could assume it's a multicultural city. Oh, bien, bien, well, I don't know. I'm assuming. And a port, a harbor sin par without compare. That's what. Literally without pair. A par.
Starting point is 00:04:31 Right. So, just a little bit. little recap of our clues. So this is something by the sea. It's a resplendent port. Then there's this interesting thing about a female guardian that is watching
Starting point is 00:04:45 over as the day is starting. Then there were three key things mentioned, soap, fish and a fort in the sea. And then this multicultural city and this port without compare.
Starting point is 00:05:02 That is perfect. Now, you do have another little clue for us. Yes, just in case, and just to help you a little bit. So if you were learning the language, which was the second to be introduced in the coffee break family, then you could practice in this place. Right. That confirms things in my mind because that's kind of where I was thinking, at least the country, a country where this language is spoken, that's what I was thinking.
Starting point is 00:05:27 Maybe a distance and a direction would also help. Yes, of course. So the distance from the like checkpoint number two then is I'm going to say this in Spanish, just to practice. In miles and miles, in miles, 448 miles. 448, so 448, or in kilometers, 721 kilometers. 721 kilometers, so 7201. That's. In what direction?
Starting point is 00:05:59 sur-o-este. So to the southwest of checkpoint number two. Right. We traveled north from checkpoint number one. And then southwest from checkpoint number two to get to this city for checkpoint number three. Very bien. No, stupend. Excellent.
Starting point is 00:06:19 So before we finish, can you remind us what the price is? Well, anyone who correctly guesses all four checkpoints wins a free month of the coffee break club. and the club is our on-demand video library of language lessons. So you can enjoy a coffee break lesson from one of our fantastic tutors like Annabelle on the go with our app or from the Coffee Break TV website. But that's not all.
