Hello, what's
Mark of Coffee Break Spanish
and today I have
some
new news
very interesting.
I do indeed
have some
very interesting
news, very
exciting news
for Coffee Break Spanish
learners
because today
we have three
announcements to make.
It's a little
while since we've
published any new
content on our
Coffee Break Spanish
podcast feed,
but today I'm delighted
to let you know
that the Coffee Break
Spanish magazine
is returning very soon.
Yes, in the week
of the 18th of April
we will be back
with the fourth season of the Coffee Break Spanish Magazine.
And this is our show where we focus on cultural aspects of the Spanish-speaking world.
So we have 10 episodes for you, 10 texts, about some aspect of Spanish-speaking culture.
So we'll be looking at food and traditions and places and people and all sorts of topics over the course of the 10 lessons.
Now, in each lesson, we'll be focusing on a text.
We'll be looking at that text together.
And I am joined by Annabel for this.
So we'll be looking at the text.
We'll be talking about some of the interesting aspects of the language contained in that text,
the grammar, the vocabulary, and the cultural aspects too.
And then we also will have our ginda del pastel.
This is our cherry on the cake at the end of each episode
with a little idiomatic expression or something of interest related to the text
or to the topic that we are discussing.
So this is all happening, starting the week beginning the 18th of April.
And to know exactly which data is, make sure that you are subscribed to our social channels.
That would be Learned Spanish and Twitter.
We are Coffee Break Spanish on Facebook and Coffee Break Languages over on Instagram.
So that is Noticia No. Uno.
We'll see with Noticia No. Doz.
So this is our second piece of news.
And I'm delighted to tell you that we are working on our very first Coffee Break Spanish book.
Yes, we have partnered with our friends at Teach.
yourself, a very well-known publisher of language learning content, and in June of this year,
we're going to be publishing 50 Spanish coffee breaks. This is a book of 50 activities, and they're
organized into 5 minute, 10 minute, and 15-minute coffee breaks. So no matter how much time you have
available on your coffee break, we have an activity for you. The books are aimed at upper
beginner or lower intermediate learners, so A2 to B1, and they include a focus
on grammar, on vocabulary, on cultural texts, on reading practice, on building your knowledge of
Spanish idioms and so on. And of course, there's a focus on content from all over the Spanish
speaking world. We provide explanations about the language contained in each activity and, of course,
a set of answers so you can check your work. And my favourite bit, a checklist where you can take off
all the activities that you've done as you work your way through the book. Of course, you can
do it in any order. You can decide what you want to do, what you fancy doing in a particular
day based on how much time you have available and your interest in that particular day.
Now, as I said, the books are going to be available from June and you'll be able to buy them
in all good bookshops or online retailers. However, you can already pre-order the book
anywhere you like, so either on an online retailer or you can go into your local bookshop
and pre-order 50 Spanish coffee breaks today. And we have as a
special offer for you, a special gift.
If you do pre-order the book, we have made available a taster pack, and this will give you
a flavour of what you can expect in our book.
So to do that and to take advantage of the special offer, then all you need to do is
pre-order the book and then send us a copy of your receipt.
And that way, we will be able to send you the details on how to access our taster pack
that's been specially created to offer you an additional five free coffee breaks on us.
Now, you can find out everything you need to know about the books at coffeebreaklanguages.com
slash books.
And over there, there's also an unboxing video when we received the very first samples of the books.
And it was very exciting to hold the books that we've been working on for so long in our hands.
So do check that out on our YouTube channel and at coffeebreaklanguages.com slash books.
Okay, it's time for our third piece of news.
our third noticia.
And this is all about the
Coffee Break Spanish Club.
We have launched a new membership
site which will help you
take your Spanish to the next level
in regular activities,
completely new activities
for both beginners and intermediate learners.
Now the Coffee Break Spanish Club
provides listening activities on a Monday,
reading activities on a Wednesday,
and video lessons with our Coffee Break
Spanish Club tutors on a
Friday. And this means that you can spend just 15 minutes each of those days working on your Spanish.
And the fact is, a little language learning goes a long way. If you can be consistent with it,
you can make real differences in the way in which you learn and in the amount that you learn.
Let me tell you a little more about the Coffee Break Spanish Club. On Mondays, we offer listening activities.
And these are at two levels. So for level one, if you're working on Coffee Break Spanish season one,
then this is perfect for you.
We also offer a level two listening activity.
So let's say you're working on season two,
or perhaps our magazine shows or our coffee break Spanish travel diaries,
then the level two materials will be spot on for you.
On Wednesdays, we offer a reading activity,
and this means you'll get the chance to practice your reading comprehension skills.
We will provide questions and vocabulary and grammar challenges
all around the reading text that you're working.
on again at two levels, level one for beginners and level two for a lower intermediate level.
On Fridays, there are video lessons from our coffee break club tutors and these activities will
include the opportunity to do some reading practice with our tutors or perhaps a translation
challenge. Now, if you'd like to find out more and see some examples of some of these
activities, then head to coffeebreaklanguages.com slash club and there you'll find out everything
you need to know about our coffee break Spanish club.
I've mentioned so far Monday, Wednesday and Friday for activities.
However, we have another option.
If you would like to get an activity every single day of the week from Monday to Friday,
we have the Coffee Break Spanish Club Plus.
So that's all the Monday, Wednesday, Friday activities plus some writing challenges
on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
So we have activities which will encourage you to write some Spanish to think
about how you would express yourself in Spanish. And the crucial thing about this plus activity
is the fact that our coffee break tutors are there to help you. So when you write your contribution
to a discussion, our coffee break tutors will provide feedback on what you've written. Perhaps if
you've gone wrong, we'll explain how you've gone wrong and will give further examples to help you
expand your range of vocabulary and your expression. Now, the other very important aspect of the
Club plus is the fact that you're learning in a community.
So when you get your feedback, other learners will be getting their feedback and you'll be
able to see that and therefore learn as part of a community.
And we feel that that's really, really important to be able to learn as part of the worldwide
coffee break Spanish community.
Talking of which, we already have learners from all over the world who are taking part in
the coffee break Spanish club and benefiting from these activities on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays
for the club.
and also the discussions and challenges on Tuesdays and Thursdays for the Club Plus.
I should say that the Club Plus is limited in the number of people who can subscribe to that,
who can be part of that membership.
So when you go to Coffee Break Languages.com slash club,
you may find that the Spanish club is already full.
The Club Plus is already full.
However, you can always add your email address to our waiting list
and we'll let you know when a space becomes available.
If you're just interested in accessing our listening, reading and video lessons on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, then that's fine.
There is always space in that and you can always at some point upgrade to the club plus if you so desire.
Find out everything you need to know about the club at coffeebreaklanguages.com slash club.
Okay, so today we have announced three things.
First of all, the return of the Coffee Break Spanish magazine in the week of the 18th of April 2020.
Secondly, our coffee break Spanish book, 50 Spanish coffee breaks, which is available for pre-order
and you can take advantage of that special pre-order taster pack that we've made available.
And thirdly, the coffee break Spanish club.
So the club provides access for you to practice your Spanish.
Again, depending on which level you're at, it's available for beginners and intermediate learners
and you can find out everything you need to know on our website.
I hope you've enjoyed this little update from me.
and we really look forward to helping you learn Spanish further with all our new content.
Muchas gratis and hasta very pronto.
