Starting point is 00:00:00 Welcome to Coffee Break Spanish. Hello, I'm Annabelle, and I'm excited to back to pass me for here. And today, I would like to talk about music. Iscuchas music in Spanish? What type of music you like? A me, me are quite genders, and,
Starting point is 00:00:23 and, I like to listen music in idiomas different.
Starting point is 00:00:28 I like to listen to music in different languages, but I'm going to talk only about
Starting point is 00:00:34 Spanish music in this episode. In fact, I'm bringing you a text about a Mexican
Starting point is 00:00:41 singer that I like a lot. This way, you can practice some listening comprehension
Starting point is 00:00:46 and get some new recommendations. I understand that listening comprehension activities can be tricky.
Starting point is 00:00:55 And that's why I organize this episode a little bit differently. I'm going to start with some key words, key vocabulary that you're going to find in the text that I will read. After going through these keywords, I'm going to tell you three questions that I will ask later. This way, you know what information you should listen out for, and that way it will be a little bit easier. After telling you the three points that you should be focusing on, I'll read the text twice.
Starting point is 00:01:29 After reading the text those two times, I'll ask you again these three questions and then you can answer. After that, I'll give you the answers. Very well, then, all this? Let's start with some key vocabulary you'll hear. Destacada is an adjective that means important. Destacada. Then we have a leiba. And this is the name of a Spanish artist,
Starting point is 00:02:07 Leiba. We also have a lanzado. This is the perfect tense of the verb, lanzar. And when it's related to music, it means has released, so it comes from the verb to release. A Lanzado.
Starting point is 00:02:26 We will also hear Exitos Como solista. So, Exitos is a masculine and plural noun that means hates. And then we have
Starting point is 00:02:37 Como Solista, which in this case means solo. So these Exitos Como Solista means solo hits. We'll also
Starting point is 00:02:49 hear Le A Permitido. This is from the verb Permitir, and it means it has allowed here. Le ha permittido. And the last word in our vocabulary list is Consolidandose.
Starting point is 00:03:08 This comes from the verb Consolidar. So consolidandose means consolidating herself. So consolidatear means to consolidate. Now the questions are, Ake's dedica Jimena? What does Jimena do for a living? The point two is, mention at least two artists
Starting point is 00:03:38 with whom she has collaborated with. And the point three is, Numbra at least one of his Exits'E as Solista Name at least one of her solo hits. You can answer these questions in Spanish or English. Now, we'll listen to the text. Let's listen to the text.
