Starting point is 00:00:00 Hello, everyone. Welcome back to Coffee Carbos podcast. Hello, everyone. Oh, my gosh. I sound literally like I am on my death bed, to be honest. Are you not feeling well or just your voice is hoarse? No, like everything's bad. Like the entire confection. Stop it. I mean, even my bones feel like they're breaking. I'm not even lying. If I'm lying, I'm dying. But for real, I have had body aches, been extremely exhausted, sore throat, sinus pressure. And yeah, the whole thing.
Starting point is 00:00:55 Well, you either have COVID or you're pregnant, so. Also the shits. Oh, okay. So yeah, you're definitely, you're probably, you probably have COVID and you're pregnant also. Kilt. Literally, that's how rumors get started. So do less. Oh, my God. No, I think it's, it's something very wrong. So I'll keep you guys. No, for real? Guys, I'll keep you all updated. Today is the first day I've been able to actually breathe and blow into a tissue.
Starting point is 00:01:26 I mean, not that everybody needs to know that, but now you do. So. Well, I, no, honestly, all jokes aside, I hope you feel, I hope you feel better because that, that sucks. Me too. And then do you want me to tell you how the day started on top of like the, the illness? Yeah. So I like to sleep in my bedroom with like two fans. Actually, I have three fans, like the ceiling fan and then like a box fan on one side of the room and a box fan on the other side of the room. Literally sounds like a wind tunnel in here, but I have to have a lot of noise to sleep. And it just seemed like eerily quiet this morning. And I was like, something, something's wrong. So I sat up and it was before 630 before my alarm went off and everything was like dead in the house.
Starting point is 00:02:15 Like no fans were on, no lights, nothing. So I was like, okay. And then I realized that my phone that was plugged into the charger was also not charging. And then I told you guys about my old timey alarm clock and it had no numbers on it. So I was like, something's very wrong. So then I was going to get on Instagram stories and ask people like how long power outages usually last, but then I just kind of like was stumbling through the darkness and didn't have time to do that. So Jackson took a shower in the pitch black this morning. And it was just a lot, it was a lovely start today. And then once he got to school, the power came back on so everything as well. Well, I'm glad the power went back on, although he probably would have liked it if school was canceled due to a power outage.
Starting point is 00:03:09 Oh yeah, he was like, well, if we don't have power at the house, we definitely don't have power at the school. So I should go back to sleep and I'm like, you should definitely get up and go to school. Well, I have, I have Lincoln at the office here with me today because I just knew that I wasn't going to be able to help him from the office and he had work to do. So our kids did not have school on Monday because of like a teacher in service or whatever. But he's here and he's finishing his school work now. But I hope Jackson has a great day. Also me too, but it wasn't like, I don't know if you've ever like noticed this, but you pretty much know how your kids day is going to be based off the first five minutes of them waking up. Oh yeah. Oh, 100%. Yeah, so it's going to be shitty. Just so you know, he did eat doughnut that he pitched about this morning and said that the banana that I gave him was rotten.
Starting point is 00:04:08 So there we go. Wait, wait, what? He said that it was rotten, but like it wasn't. It just had some spots on it. Normally, you know, I'm a green banana user and he said it had spots on it. So it was a big deal. I'm just like, please shut up. The only thing that I can eat is a cough drop. So at this point you're doing way better in life than me. Oh, you guys are just having a rough day. I know we're in the middle of the week that like middle of the week, fall or whatever. And it's time for summer. It is. It really is. It really is.
Starting point is 00:04:46 Our kids here have three weeks left after this school week. So like it's really nearing the end. And I think every mom can relate when it gets that close to summertime. You're just like, I honestly don't care. Like wear a swimsuit to school. Don't care. You want to put on goggles. Cool. Don't care. Don't care. Like, do I care if you get in the car? Probably not. It doesn't really matter. So yeah, I'm just ready to kind of like slow down the schedule, you know? Oh, totally. Totally, totally. Hey, P.S. about your schedule.
Starting point is 00:05:23 What? How soccer going? Soccer is going well. This past weekend was better than last weekend. He did not, you know, tell me he needed a drink and go to the bathroom and want to kiss me and all of these things in 45 minutes. He did the, you know, the whole time that we were there. And so that was fun and it was great. And then we went kayaking after. I saw. Lux was so fucking funny, Lindsay. When I tell you, well, first of all, I need- He's so funny always.
Starting point is 00:05:55 A GoPro attached to me at all times because we always miss the funny shit. I never thought. So like, as you guys know, with like my kayaking story, like, I have several now, like, I think I have like six of them now or maybe even seven. I did not know that I bought fishing kayaks. So not that it makes a huge difference, but also it does. And my fishing kayak, I didn't know. One of my kayaks that I bought for myself, I exceeded the weight limit. So I exceeded the weight limit. And then I also was like, okay, so I put Caden on that one. And I was like, here, Caden. So Caden gets on that one. And I'm using the blue fishing kayak because that's also a fishing kayak. And I'm like, okay, we're going to put Lux on here with me. Well, Lux and I together exceeded that weight limit.
Starting point is 00:06:56 But we didn't know until we got in the water and water is coming up into my kayak. And I'm like, I'm turning around. This is fucking miserable between Lux and I on this kayak together. Like, literally, when I tell you that the top of the kayak was like, in line with the water, like it was like, we were barelessly, barelessly, barely surfacing on the water. So I had to so pissed. I was like, well, how did I let this happen? I put Lux on my friend bones kayak and honestly, Lux lived his best fucking life. When I tell you like, he's sitting with bone like, first of all, if you guys know Lux, like he never stops talking from the time that he wakes up in the morning and his, his feet hit the ground, he doesn't ever stop. So he's in the kayak probably talking bones ear off, and his feet are hanging over the edge and he's just snacking like he is thoroughly enjoying himself. I could not I took pictures of it and I'll post them. It was so funny. Like he literally had no care in the world and he said he can't wait to go kayaking again.
Starting point is 00:08:06 Stop. Wait, was he wearing his braids when he was doing this? Oh, yes. Oh, yes. Oh, I love it so much. Like, I get so much joy. Wait, I came up with a name for your kayaking. What is it? It's going to be called kayaking chronicles. The kayaking chronicles. Fuck. Yeah. Yeah. Now that you have six stories, like it's now a chronicle. I just, I'm, I'm very excited. We were going to go today, but it's raining. So we might try tomorrow. If not tomorrow, we'll go on Saturday and like people were messaging me all kinds of places to go. And I'm just, I just, I'm ready to live my best life.
Starting point is 00:08:44 Kill. When I saw the picture that you posted on Instagram, I was like, only thing that could come out of my mouth was I'm scared. Like, honestly, it wasn't scary at all. There wasn't even, we didn't even see any creatures. I mean, it just looked spooky kind of like with the trees in the background and like, I mean, I don't know what else would be in the background. I mean, I don't know what I have my mind thinking, but it's just like, you know, with the trees and like the water being still, right, you know, looked a little like there might be some snakes that you might see or something that we didn't. I wouldn't be into it, honestly. No, you would have. It was not bad at all. It was a good fucking time. And honestly, it was just fun. Like, it was so fun. I can't wait to go back. Next time I'm going to just bring more snacks. That's the only mistake we made. Wait, can you tell me what snacks got to make it on there? And did you stop at Wawa to get them?
Starting point is 00:09:40 No, we did not stop at Wawa. I wish we did. We brought Pirates Booty. Lux loved it. That's the one he was snacking on and his feet were over the edge and he was just living his best life. We brought Thai chili almond nuts like almonds. They were so good. I've never had that flavor. We also brought pretzels and hummus and fruit snacks. Y'all literally had like a charcuterie board or whatever you call it. Yeah, it was amazing. I guess my biggest advice for people who like to kayak or are interested in going kayaking is don't give yourself a set time to come back because you kind of take your time getting to wherever you go and you don't want to have to rush back. When we went in a canal and decided to go back, we were rushing because we had lost track of time.
Starting point is 00:10:40 We wanted to be able to get my kayaks back up on the roof of my truck before dark. We were rushing back. I'm talking full on Olympic kayakers. You're going to be sore if you have to do that. That's what I recommend. I want to see the GoPro footage for to watch you Olympic kayaking. Really, Kaden sprinted back and we couldn't see him anymore. That's how fast he was going. Hopefully he was getting the water going so it gave you guys a little drift. No, that prevented a current that we couldn't fight again.
Starting point is 00:11:21 I'm so dead. I want to tell you about this order that I got from Public Goods and I'm so freaking obsessed with it. I got straws, I got cleaning products, dish soap, one stop shop, sustainable goodies, high quality everyday essentials made from cleaning ingredients at an affordable price from Public Goods. Literally everything from coffee to toilet paper, shampoo to pet food, Public Goods is your new everything store thoughtfully designed for conscious consumer. I know a couple weeks ago we talked about conspiracy and we talked about all kinds of things like that and just really taking care of our planet and being mindful of what we're using, the products we're using, the packaging that it's in. This is such a great idea. I love it. The bamboo straws are my favorite. I use them for my coffee too, which is amazing. So rather than buying from a bunch of single product brands, Public Goods members can buy all of their premium essentials in one place and the aesthetic of the packaging is so nice. The straws that I ordered came in this really cute little pouch with a drawstring and I actually love the very simple packaging of the cleaning products and the dish soap.
Starting point is 00:12:38 They came in like a clear container with just like black like tops and lids and stuff and like the label and I just I love how simple it is and it makes it just look nice. So I don't know if you're one of those people that like pour their products into other containers because of the aesthetic, you don't have to do that with Public Goods. I and I love that because I feel like you're just just keep it in the product, keep it in the container. It's already in Public Goods searches the globe to find clean, healthy, eco-friendly and innovative products. Like I said, I absolutely love them and I will post a picture of some of the things that I got just so that you guys know actually I'm almost out of the multi surface cleaner and the dish soap. I just love and so knowing what's in your products and where they come from is so important. Small changes in the way we shop can make a huge difference on personal health and really the world at large. And so that's, you know, something that we've talked about time and time again and they use their membership model to keep costs low and pass on even more savings to their customers. So best of all, you guys get to make your first purchase with no obligation.
Starting point is 00:13:44 They plant one tree for every order that's placed and incorporates sustainability into every part of the company. So join hundreds of thousands of others who have switched to their new everything store. I promise you I would not be talking about it if I didn't love it. So we worked out a deal with public goods to receive $15 off your first public goods order with no minimum purchase. Again, they're so confident that you're going to love their products that you're going to come back again and again and they're giving you $15 to spend on your first purchase. Right now you receive your choice of either a free pack of bamboo straws, which is what I have and I love, or reusable food storage wraps with your order. So you have nothing to lose here. Just go to public goods.com slash convos or use code combos at checkout. So P U B L I C G O O D S dot com forward slash convos and to receive $15 off your first order.
Starting point is 00:14:48 So good. So wait, anything else going on with the boys soccer football soccer. Lincoln had football on Friday and he has football on Sundays and we won both games. So that was exciting. And then yesterday I closed on my build on my on my construction loan. How excited are you? I'm so fucking excited. I'm ready because supposedly, supposedly now I'm not going to hold my breath. But supposedly that was the last thing that they like needed to basically encourage the county to give us our permits. So supposedly they're going to start on Monday. Oh my gosh, and did they to give you a timeframe roughly of how long from the time they break ground on it until completion?
Starting point is 00:15:36 Supposedly again, if there are no like major delays, four to six months, which would put me at about October, November. And my goal was to be in for Thanksgiving so I could do like a friend's giving, even if it's not on like Thanksgiving weekend, but just like a friend's giving in general. So that's my goal and I'm very, very excited. Oh my gosh, I'm so excited to see it just like all come together. I know it's something that you've been wanting to do for such a long time and it's just like exciting to finally see things like happening for you in your life in a positive direction. When you when you built your houses because you built more than one, right? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:16:18 What were some of the delays that like would have held that will that could potentially hold up like completion? Like was there any real delays that you dealt with? Yeah, if you have any changes that like our last minute changes like, I mean, it can be something so small like making sure you know where you want your electrical outlets. Just weird stuff like that. I know right now because of COVID that it's been really hard for them to get windows. Oh, mine were already ordered. I know that mine were already ordered. So there's stuff like that, but then obviously there are certain things that you just can't prevent like if there's just like a really bad week of weather that prevents them from getting out there.
Starting point is 00:17:06 Oh, okay. I didn't even think of I did not even think about the weather at all. I was I'm just thinking of like what you were saying like outlets or changes and things like that. I will say that I ordered my appliances last week because they were on back order and we don't know what back order is just back order mean two weeks before their ship. Does it mean two months before their ship like we don't know and I know. I think I said it on the podcast before you have to have your range for the certificate of occupancy. Yep. So I wanted to make sure that if nothing else I have my stove so I placed my order on that and then also I just wanted to say to like when I first was considering building people.
Starting point is 00:17:49 I had went on Instagram and I asked for advice or like tips and tricks and all of that and people kept saying you're going to spend more than you expect. And so I didn't know what that meant because you only get approved for a certain amount right like when you have your construction loan like you can't really go over that unless you're going to pay out of pocket well. Then it came full circle for me when yesterday I was going over lighting with my interior designer and she was like here's the total for lighting. Yes, the lighting fixtures like the fixtures that I picked for the rooms like my stairs my dining room my living room my office all of that. Those are not included in the build price. They're like for some builders you have like standard like just like a light but like if you want an actual fixture that does not come with the build quote. Yeah, I think that's how a lot of people actually that's a really good point for you to bring up because I think a lot of people are interested in like what goes on behind the scenes of a home building process. And if you are working with a builder that has standard packages and then you can move to like upgraded packages.
Starting point is 00:19:03 That's bare bones like you're not getting anything extra it's literally like the dinkiest lighting. Like what you're saying it's probably and I know a lot of people who have done this that purchase with or build with like more mass construction builders. That they will do like the cheapest lighting package that they possibly can and then do after market or whatever lighting package with like a designer or a design center or something like that because it ends up being cheaper than going through the builder because they mark up stuff so much. Yeah, so I didn't really. So my builder is not a part like a production builder they don't do neighborhoods and things like that it's strictly like one offs. And he told me like with the package and we went over the agreement and stuff like a certain number of recessed lighting a certain number of outlets and then I can go ahead and ask for extra outlets or extra recessed lighting things like that. But the actual fixtures that I choose that I chose for like my over my dining table over my island and things like that those things are not included I didn't even consider like asking him to order certain ones because I knew I kind of figured that the that the that the markup would be a lot higher. So I just worked with Sammy on that if you guys have followed me on Instagram Sammy is my the interior designer that I decided to work with on my house and she's honestly found me some like really amazing fixtures so I don't regret that decision I definitely think it's something that if you want to build and go like the bare bones route and have a house built you can always add these fixtures later however I have to order my lighting fixtures within the next two ish weeks because some of them are also on back order and then the electrician who is doing my house I want to have my lighting like I want them to be able to like do the electrical to fit those
Starting point is 00:21:06 lighting fixtures that I picked her so I don't have to go back in and do it later so that's the way I'm doing it but I'm sure that that's something you can also go back in and do later if you don't want to spend the money up front because I actually didn't even think about that and you know obviously I have a lighting bill now so just a tip for you guys and then obviously more as more calm I will give them but that that's for right now my newest one is that well I love the house updates I mean I'm so into build like if I could literally move and build like every three years of my life I probably would because I just thoroughly enjoy the process I don't know a lot of people think that that's crazy but I really love it and I don't know if it's because my dad started his career basically doing flips and interior design so I think maybe I crave the dysfunction sometimes I love the interior design aspect I am absolutely not a fan of the building process like I thought that I was gonna love it because I love interior design like I thought I was gonna fall in love with this process and like never wanted to end but like I truly I can I can I'm ready for it to end I love that well let me tell you something else that I did this morning let's hear it started looking for my flight for New York City and started looking for a hotel so if you already know where you're staying then I don't I need to find out you need to find out for me otherwise I will be booking a one off
Starting point is 00:22:47 Secondly on in other news I need to know about your PCOS update because I saw that you had posted that your co-host might not be interested in anymore but I definitely am and I know it's been a journey for you and honestly probably wasn't asking mainly because sometimes when you're going through something that's hard you don't want to talk about it all the time so I figured if you wanted to talk about it that you would bring it up but I'm sure now that you've been on your medication for what how long has it been since we recorded that episode in Philly well so actually I took myself off of it wow wait because real back like give us a whole update yeah okay so I was taking metformin since we were in Philly which was I want to say like the week of my birthday which was like March my birthday was March 14th and then we were in Philly like shortly thereafter like literally that week or like the follow it was like the 17th 18th and 19th that Saturday I was going I started my metformin I got on it and I mean TMI so if you guys don't want to hear about poop you don't want to listen to this part I literally couldn't go anywhere without needing a bathroom at all times like I it's an hour drive from where I live to where Lux stays with his dad and I would pull over two to three times in the hour because I had to go to the bathroom and it's just like not a like I can't live like that and not even I think if I had a job where I physically went to my job I stayed there all day and then I went home at night that would that would work for me but that's not the lifestyle I have so I actually came off of it and I've been off of it for about three weeks
Starting point is 00:24:43 and because I couldn't live like that and I called the doctor my friend had suggested asking for the extended release version of metformin so I picked that up yesterday and I'm going to start that this week because supposedly the extended release doesn't have the same side effects and I part of it is because I think I expected it to be so much easier to do like less carbs when I was on metformin because it doesn't really mix well with carbs but that being said I didn't realize that everything is essentially a carb and I need to figure out what my carb tolerance is so yes I can have some amount of carbs but what kind of carbs and how much and that's what I was struggling with so that was a struggle a little bit almost like you need to hire like a nutritionist or something like right to like figure out yeah to figure out those kinds of things so I am going to start the extended release and see if that gives me any type of relief and then on top of that so I had only ever told you guys about like my super super heavy periods all of April I never got a period at all which is weird because like I'm just newly diagnosed with PCOS and when I tell you guys like I my symptoms and my diagnosis like we're all at once for me minus the weight loss like I'm not kidding all of I woke up this morning with my period but I didn't get a period at all in April so I just like don't understand like I truly don't understand any of it I mean I haven't I haven't lost any weight I haven't but I also feel so overwhelmed with information and not knowing where to start because like all this one page I follow on Instagram she says gluten free and dairy free but then other places I read keto is really good well keto you can have cheese you can have right right so I don't know I don't want to like I don't know where to start I don't want to try a hundred things and get frustrated like I'm already overwhelmed and I'm at a point where
Starting point is 00:26:40 nothing I've tried already works to lose weight so what the fuck what do I have I might as well just eat what the fuck I want if I can't lose weight anyway that's where I'm at I'm at like a frustration standpoint very discouraged yes very unmotivated very discouraged and I thought okay maybe I can talk myself into not worrying about the weight loss specifically right now like if I am out doing things summer is coming if I go kayaking and do those kinds of things maybe just not stressing about those things at all maybe that'll be helpful and then also like cutting calories by not like fixating on food and like being outside and stuff will help but I don't know I don't I truly don't know I mean that's the update I think the discouraged part is the worst part of all because I think that you went on that medication thinking that okay now I have a diagnosis now on medication like I'm going in the positive direction and for you to then feel like probably even more set back than when you started probably is just extremely discouraging and I know at one point you were going to the gym and you were like I need to up my cardio and I need to do this I need to do that and nothing was working and so I think if nothing else for the mental health aspect of it getting out and exercising whether that be walking or kayaking or whatever and just being outside and fresh air exercising and trying this new medication to see if it has any type of different effect on you than the first time and then maybe trying for a week you know keto or gluten free or whatever you said maybe just trying one of those and seeing if you can tell a difference. The hardest thing for me was like I didn't know what the fuck gluten was well what the hell yeah so I looked it up.
Starting point is 00:28:34 Yeah you knew that yeah it's basically in everything that's why actually there's been a couple of baseball seasons that we've had kids with gluten intolerance and I just tell the moms like just bring them something because it's so hard. That's like I didn't really know what gluten was like I don't I just didn't know and I look it up and I'm like what should I avoid and it's literally like I might as well be a vegan or a vegetarian. Correct. Do you think you could be a vegetarian hold on one second I'm about to sneeze. Well I thought I was. Do you think that you could be a vegetarian. I think I could do vegetarian. I talked to my therapist about it because I was telling her like how overwhelmed and stuff I was and she was like well if you slowly incorporate it right like if you try to do one vegetarian or one vegan meal a day for a week and see where you're at like can you maintain that and then slowly like kind of increase it and like do things like that.
Starting point is 00:29:37 I ordered a some vegan meals from like a meal kit service but they're already prepared because that's another thing I struggle with with my lifestyle and I know it sounds like excuses but like. I literally cannot tell you a typical day for me because Lindsay you know like I am all over the place at all times like I don't have. I will never unless I like truly sit down on a Sunday and like meal prep and then like have it with me in the car and everywhere I go I don't even have access to a microwave all the time so. I just I need to find a way that it works for me where I can take things with me and so the vegan meals that I ordered are like already prepared you just have to heat them up. So I'm going to try that and see how I had one yesterday. It was very plain. I don't have any like real complaints about like the actual quality of the food but I will say it's very plain but my one friend who's vegan said that that's pretty typical so she just puts a lot of seasoning on them. Oh my God. So I was like oh.
Starting point is 00:30:36 Order everything but the bagel seasoning and put it on. Oh I have that. I love it. It's so good. It's so good. I mean I think with your with what you do for a work and just like your lifestyle in general I mean I know of two trips that I'm involved in within like the next month and a half. Four weeks. Yeah I mean yeah four weeks that how would you just like get those meals where you need to be going to like go through the airport or whatever like it takes a lot of like pre planning and thinking.
Starting point is 00:31:11 Right and even that is hard so I'm not saying that it's not it's not possible but I really need to like sit down and like think about like what is what so I mean I don't have any overall complaints part part of me wants to just say fuck it and like live my best life and like stop stressing because at this point like I can't change anything but then the other part of me is like no kale like if you live like that yes on one hand you get to do whatever like you can do whatever you want but on the other hand is like there that would create. Like I'm still going to be vulnerable more vulnerable to other things like cancers and heart disease and diabetes and all those things and I don't I don't want to live with that stress either so it's like I have to choose my hard which hard do I want to go hard. Healthy working on it or hard staying where I'm at and also having these other things looming over my head because I'm not really taking care of myself so I mean it could go either way. Well I hope you choose the hard healthy me to and get you know your mind right in a positive direction but I'm here to cheer you on and so is all coffee podcast. Thank you all. Starting point is 00:35:59 Yes. Well so my TV remotes aren't working right now so I watched without listening and it was kind of difficult. I saw last night was the premiere and Ashley got proposed to and then Brianna was complaining about Devoyne not picking Nova up on time and then she didn't pick up Nova on time. And then who else? I didn't see Jade's segments at all. I don't know how I miss those. And then Leah's was breast lump in her breast. I saw something about that on Instagram which is so scary. It's so scary so I mean I remember when she was going through that in real time and I can't, it's so scary. My segment was moving back to selling my house in Middletown and then moving back to Dover. I will say that that all happened in February and we've been filming since September so I definitely think that these things are all out of order.
Starting point is 00:37:09 But I mean it really happened and in real time I cried for about an hour and a half in my car and they only showed for like two minutes of it. But I like full on sobbed. They showed the previews for next week and it was us in Atlanta for the Devoyne podcast. I can't wait to see it. That was a fun trip I feel like and I feel like that podcast episode was so good. Like I'm honestly really proud of it. I love it. I'm going to actually repost it for people who saw the preview so that if they didn't listen to the podcast already that they definitely should listen to the podcast. I need to figure out how to see the preview so that we can post like the commercial too. Oh yeah, good point. I'll see if we can get it. Yeah, see if we can get it. Hey PS, I have a million PS's. Have you been riding on your Peloton bike?
Starting point is 00:38:00 I haven't. You haven't? No, I've been meaning to. Well, I had a mental breakdown yesterday so I stopped. Stop, why? Like, well, I think part of it was like my period coming and out knowing because I hadn't had it for a month so I didn't know when it was coming and like I guess I just hormones and then also just like I don't know. Like I was just like overwhelmed. I couldn't get I needed something out of my garage but I have so many boxes in my garage and clutter makes me crazy. Like I literally can't handle clutter. It makes me feel out of control and then also if I feel out of control and something in my real life, I clean everything off my counters.
Starting point is 00:38:40 Like it's like this like weird compulsive thing that I do. And is compulsive the right word? Yeah, I mean I obsessive. Yeah, it's like low level OCD like in my hand, like when I handle like conflict or internal stuff. I'll start cleaning things up. And so yesterday went out to my garage to get something and I was like, I can't live like this anymore. Like I just looked around in my garage and I was like, I cannot do this. I need to clean up my garage and we did. We cleaned it out and I ordered fucking bike racks and kayak racks. I was like, I can't fucking do this. It looks amazing. I'll post a picture.
Starting point is 00:39:17 It looks great. I wish I took a before picture and I feel much better. But what was the question about the Peloton bike? The Peloton. Yeah. Yeah. No. How did I end up at the garages from the Peloton? I have just been like doing other things, but I do want to ride my Peloton. Okay. Well, I wanted to tell you that CNN business actually reported a Peloton recall. It said that 120. On the treadmill. Yeah. On the treadmills. And it said that there had been one child death and 70 other injuries tied to the treadmill. But when the federal safety agency issued warning about the dangers last month, Peloton took an unusual step of refusing to recall them.
Starting point is 00:39:59 It's quoted, I want to be clear. Peloton made a mistake in our initial response to the CPSC's request. It was from the CEO said this, we should have engaged more productively with them from the outset. And for that, I apologize. So I just wonder like what exactly happened? Like it didn't give a ton of information other than just like 39 accidents were involving the treadmill. And then multiple reports of children becoming entrapped, pinned and pulled under the device. So, I mean, I can remember being a probably, probably around like Jackson and Lincoln's age and being at my mom's parents and they had a treadmill. And some girl like turned it, turned it on. And you know how they have like that safety thing that you go to like pull it in case like an emergency. Well, I wasn't, I was like laying on it and it like ate up my chin and my neck.
Starting point is 00:40:59 So I can imagine like if someone or if something wasn't there to like help a kid, then I could see where something like that would happen. Well, the article that you are reading, I pulled it up and there is a baby's face on this treadmill. Oh, there is. Yes, it is scary because I'm assuming I won't play the video because I'm not going to make myself sick, but um. Oh, I see it. Yeah. Yeah. So I also, my mom had a treadmill at one of the houses we lived in and me and my friend were older by time.
Starting point is 00:41:32 Like we used to use them and like just like dance on them and it was like funny or whatever. But that's terrifying. I, so I guess I saw the article that they reported somebody, a baby passed away, but I did not know about the 70 other injuries and that's terrifying. So I guess my question is just because I don't want to read the whole article. So they did not respond right away and they did not want to recall the treadmill. Is that what you're saying? Yeah, they didn't want to recall it and then probably whenever it started making news and circulating, then I'm sure that's when they decided to do something about it. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:42:11 Peloton, I feel like overnight became like an overnight sensation and then like I'd never heard about them and then it was all the rage or rave. Yeah, no, totally. Does that make sense? I agree. Yes, I agree. I like didn't really, like I vaguely heard about it or like in passing and then boom, I think COVID. I think because everyone was like, when I posted about it on Instagram, people had them and I'm like, but I never heard of it. So how did you hear about it?
Starting point is 00:42:40 But I also like live under a rock. So I don't know. Well, I basically heard about it because just blogger friends that I follow, they're always like in the know about stuff, you know. And that's where I heard about it through like your you posted about it. I think like on giveaways and stuff. Yes. Yes. That's and then I was like, what the fuck is a Peloton?
Starting point is 00:43:00 And then I got one. What is this? You were you were the influencer who was influenced. I. Yeah. And that happens a lot. Like I actually texted my publicist yesterday and I was like, Alexa, what is this? Because Alexa, she's like, you like y'all know everything about everything. And I'm like, what are these?
Starting point is 00:43:20 They were like silk pillowcases. I don't know something like leopard print and it like came up and I was like, should I buy these? Yes, I am influenced. But she said that they have to be hand washed and that I actually and then Kristen chimes in and she's like, yeah, they won't dry you out as much as cotton. And I was like, wait a minute. Where have you been? Like, where? Why have you been my friend?
Starting point is 00:43:41 Cotton pillowcases were going to drying my face out. Like I didn't know that that happened. And like, okay, I know that you like to get your hair blown out and stuff because you hate fixing it yourself. But if you use like a silk scrunchie, I know you did them for a pot head one time. But if you use a silk scrunchie, it's so much better for your hair because it doesn't cause friction and like keeps it like fixed longer. Yes. Are you serious? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:44:08 If you use a silk scrunchie, see, you're learning new things every freaking. Well, you know what I'm going to do right now? I'm going on Amazon and I'm buying, can you get them on Amazon or where do I need to go? Oh, yeah. Silk scrunchie skills buying stuff off of Amazon right this second. Right this second. Hey, actually, there was a report from a story that we followed a while back. I can't remember when it was, but I swear it was like sometime over quarantine.
Starting point is 00:44:39 But the influencer that alleged that kidnapping attempt that was like on Instagram. Do y'all remember that she was charged with giving false information to police and she's facing two misdemeanor charges. So I wouldn't normally say this, but I feel like that needs to be done. I agree. And because at her, at the expense of those people that she claimed did what they did, she gained a following and sympathy and all of these things and truly wasted people's time. I agree. And I think that honestly, it was an attempt to become viral on social media, which leads me back to topics that we've talked about on the podcast before that people do so much for. Social media.
Starting point is 00:45:36 Maybe validation is the right word. Mm hmm. I think this woman like legitimately wanted to be like a mom influencer and didn't know how to grow her following. So she came up with some like wild story that would get her seen. I'm convinced of that. Yeah, I agree with you. So it said that she would be doing court on May 13 and that was coming directly from the district attorney's office and they confirmed her charges. So, I mean, it's just, it's insane.
Starting point is 00:46:10 And I mean, to do that to to actual the people that she accused of that are the actual victims of the crime. Right, right. Yeah, totally. That's what I, that's how I feel like how do you do that to someone? All right, guys, I have a couple of questions for you. What happens when you don't get enough sleep? How does it affect your day, your mood, your productivity? And are you getting out of bed feeling ready for the day ahead or dreading it?

Starting point is 00:48:39 What's the deal with Britney Spear stuff? So my friend texted me and said that for the first time in I think 12 years, she's Britney Spears finally gets to have a say in her conservatorship and that is coming up in June. Wow. Like, so she will appear like in court and will be speaking or like, what does that mean? Yes. I don't know exactly what it means, but she'll get to speak for herself or get to say what she wants to say. I don't know how much weight it'll hold and I don't know what that looks like, but I'll be eager to follow that whole situation because I feel like she really deserves that. I mean, she's made it clear that she understands the conservatorship isn't going anywhere, but I do believe that she should at least get to speak on it.
Starting point is 00:49:27 You know what I mean? Like, if she doesn't feel comfortable with her dad doing it, why should he have to stay the conservator? Well, and I mean, it goes back to same thing we both said that if she's capable of working and making a substantial income the way that she does, then I feel that she's capable of speaking if nothing more. Right. Right. Totally. I agree with you. And attempting to, you know, advocate for herself because I feel like she's been silenced for so long.
Starting point is 00:49:59 Right. I agree with you 100%. It's just really sad. I saw this one thing on one of my friends Instagrams and I was like, I've got to talk about that on coffee combos because it was like so wild to me. So it's this story that I guess the where we will start is would you ever be okay with your best friend marrying your ex husband? No. So this story goes that this woman who has this ex husband, her best friend started dating him after well after they had got divorced. And then she asked her to be in the wedding and she wanted to be her maid of honor because they're best friends.
Starting point is 00:50:49 But now her best friend is also her daughter's stepmother. So I'm like, there's a lot of like intricate parts of this story that I'm just like, okay, first of all, I feel like that's like friend code, like girl code, right? Like you automatically even like nicks the idea of that person, even if you find them attractive or whatever. Like you automatically nicks that idea because that was your best friend's ex, right? Yeah, I don't even know why that would even be an option at all. That shouldn't that's not a thing. Like who I just want to know how many I guarantee you there's people that are listening to this that will say that they think that it's okay. Or that it would be I'm not saying it's like not there's like right or wrong in the situation.
Starting point is 00:51:41 I'm just saying there is absolutely wrong. And in my opinion, I would not be able to function with that. Like I would have to then cut off the best friend. I think, like, again, this goes to like anyone who who does this and is okay with it, like I'm not judging your situation. I guess I think it's more for like my own personal situation. I would not be okay, even if it wasn't my best friend, if it was just a friend in general, like, no, no, I'm going to have to say no. Like I question both people and the loyalty and the trust and all of those things. Like what was going on behind my back during the entire marriage then.
Starting point is 00:52:25 Okay, that's that's kind of where I went with it too. Because I was like, okay, there's no way that you just started thinking about it now that we're divorced, right? So then again, like you just said, the whole time, what were you thinking? Were you being a conniving bitch? Because probably. Yeah, no, 100%. You had to be because what else could have really have been going on here? Like I'm not, I'm not down with this.
Starting point is 00:52:54 Also, to the story that you brought up, I think it was last week about Kendall Jenner being pregnant by someone on Vanderpump. I think that's like a complete scam. Probably started on Reddit, but I did read on in touch weekly that Kendall Jenner, like was she pregnant and engaged. And it said that Courtney Kardashian had convinced her to play a prank on family members amid the steamy romance with her basketball boyfriend, Devin Brooker. I did, I did watch one of the pranks where she is with Courtney and Kendall calls her mom to tell her she's pregnant. I did see that and it was a joke, like it was a complete joke. So I'm just wondering if something like stemmed from that, you know, like people, I mean, you know it all too well, people just like make up stuff. Oh, yeah, totally.
Starting point is 00:53:51 So I, and I said that I said that was very possible. I didn't believe it. I don't feel like it came from like a credible source, but you know, people love to, and this is my problem right now is like, not right now always. They love to post things without confirming. And I'm totally guilty of doing it in the past, couldn't like without actually verifying if something is true. So I shouldn't have actually said it on the podcast. I should have verified first. I'm just, oh, and speaking of the Kardashians, have you been watching this unfolding with Tristan Thompson with this other girl?
Starting point is 00:54:27 I have. I also saw pictures of Chris and Chloe's 10,000 square foot each mansions that are put on three acres of land. So they're next door neighbor to each other. And I sent Lindsay a picture of this and I have been following the Tristan stuff and I have a lot of feelings on it. So what do you want to say? So although I feel that he is very, very wrong and a dog. I think this girl is very much a clout chaser. She went on a podcast, talked about all of this stuff, then posted screenshots of Chloe sending her direct messages.
Starting point is 00:55:12 And I just, I mean, if nothing else, they both got played in my opinion. So I feel like she should have kept those messages confidential and had a conversation woman to woman instead of posting those on Instagram or wherever she posted it. And then I saw that I was buying. So last night I saw that she had posted that she had not received a cease and desist and that basically let it be known that she wasn't saying anything that was untrue. And that just because a family like that has that much power don't allow them to silence you. So I think there's a lot more pieces of this puzzle that we don't know. And I have a problem with that. I have a big problem with that because maybe this is like my therapy speaking.
Starting point is 00:56:09 But whether she got a cease and desist or an NDA or the message that I saw on, I want to say it was Instagram that Chloe had reached out to the girl and she literally messaged her saying like I would appreciate if you could keep this confidential. What is your intentions with making it go private or be making it go public? It is not your job to make it known for the world. It doesn't matter if you received any of those things. You as a person did not have to go out there and say it like I learned the hard way because I did it unintentionally. Do you know what I'm saying? Like I had no motives when I did it and it was more a jab at hobby versus Lauren, you know, and then when I went to therapy about it and I still talk about it in therapy is like that is not my job. That is not I nothing good can come of that.
Starting point is 00:56:58 So her saying that she didn't get any of those things and to not allow it to be to silence her like what kind of person are you? Yeah, and then I mean also I think people make decisions in the heat of the moment when emotions are high and I understand that. So I mean that could be playing a part in it but to literally go on a podcast and talk about how she had been hooking up with him and that he was uncircumcised and that it was good and so on and so forth. Like this man has children and like regardless of his his actions, that's just something that I think shouldn't be discussed. Like I don't think you should be discussing stuff like that outside of a bedroom. I just don't. I don't know why she that's what I'm saying. I personally don't feel like she should have done any of that.
Starting point is 00:57:55 She shouldn't have said any of it and whether she had NDAs or any of that or not. I just don't think that that was that's not appropriate. And I mean clearly he has a problem and I mean it's all over TikTok I mean I imagine that Chloe would have to be absolutely yet again humiliated. And that would just be such a horrible feeling like isn't it supposed to air soon that they had gotten engaged or whatever and then all of this stuff is coming out. So then it makes me think okay did this girl have motive was she waiting for stuff to air about them getting engaged and then drop this bomb like was it premeditated. Yeah, right, right. It just that's not fair. It's just wild and I couldn't imagine like Chloe Kardashian messaging me or something like that and being like oh yeah I'm going to screenshot this and post it on Instagram and then flex on her also knowing that the girls hurt like there's no sympathy there.
Starting point is 00:58:58 For that like I just can't respect this other girl I'm just like you're just a dog like you're just your ass. It's it's it's hard to see it from my standpoint to because I I did it to someone unintentionally and the guilt that I felt. Do you know what I mean. Yes. And I still feel to this day like I did not absolutely have to go that route like. But again it was unintentionally to be a kind of person that would hurt someone else intentionally with that is like why. Yeah and I mean she could have she could have very easily just had a private conversation with her you know I mean. Obviously Chloe was wanting it to remain confidential like I mean if I was in Chloe shoes I would too.
Starting point is 00:59:46 100% as you know it's humiliating enough but like I don't know who this girl thought she was just to be going on a podcast talking about this. This girl man that has children with other people is engaged and talking about how the sex was good and how he was uncircumcised like I just don't understand why that would be anyone's business. It's so it's so interesting for just like see how other people would would think that something like that is okay. Yeah I mean it's just something that I would never do but again maybe this is coming from like a hurt place maybe there's more to the story that we don't know maybe he told her things or gave promises that he didn't keep maybe didn't intend to keep. So I'll be interested to continue following that story. But last night or sometime yesterday I posted on my Instagram story like parenting confessions. And I wanted to read this one before we go. It says woke up and had some morning sex with my husband go out of the room and my son is awake and says that he was waiting for us to finish our thing.
Starting point is 01:00:57 Oh my gosh. Oh my gosh. Can you imagine. Oh my gosh. No because then you know that they're aware and then it's like well how do we have these conversations be kind of at that point should address it but oh speaking of that actually like having that like your child kind of be involved. I watched a tiktok yesterday and it was like I'm a mama boy so you're a mama boy and I really want to know what your thoughts are on this before we go because it kind of goes with that. She basically says like when you're a mom of boys and you know that you're going to get to that point where eventually you're going to have to have that talk and like you hear like the stories of like Krusty socks or Krusty towels and all of those. Bye.
Starting point is 01:01:44 No listen she said what if we gave them condoms to do those things so they're not using towels they're not using socks they get used to it with condoms they have their first instinct when that feeling comes is to put a condom on on so that when the time comes with a with a girl with a woman that's the first thing that they do. I mean that's a very interesting perspective but like how do you approach that conversation. I mean I don't know but I you know I thought it was it made a lot of sense I mean there are people who who believe you know that that shouldn't happen they shouldn't do that and I get that I totally get that but. For for the moms who know like for me at least like I know that my kids might even though these are things that I want them to wait to do and these are things that like. Wait until you're a little older when you know you're trying to do it have like a family and like you have other things in perspective and in line to have condoms be the first thing that you reach for when you're if you're going to do it be protected and I would be curious to hear what people's thoughts are on that. You want me to give me my thoughts on it. Yeah, I think that it's a very smart idea because I am a huge advocate for safe sex and open conversation and so I mean I've always had super super open conversations with Jackson. And that's been since preschool. It's just an open dialogue and I think that that is the healthiest way. Especially for me with a son and I mean maybe you feel like this too. Well and it's no no mess no cleanup no nothing they learn how to do it they learn how what it feels like to do it they know they learn how to do it properly. They can ask questions like if they need to like after whatever you know what I mean like it just creates kind of like a safe thing
Starting point is 01:03:46 you have to like hide nasty socks and nasty fucking towels everywhere like go this is for you and your private time like you know what I mean like I just I don't know I just think that it was such a I don't know why I never thought of that I mean obviously I haven't had that talk or that's that come up for me but it will at some point. Yeah and probably for you way sooner than me like right right well I mean Isaac's 11 so I mean it's you know so I just I that kind of tied in with your with your parent confession because I mean I'd be curious to know if her son like to have they had that talk like how did he know like how do you he just wait he's like I'll just wait to talk to you when you're done doing your thing I mean like what's the thing like you know I mean oh my God when I read that I was just like oh my God I would be mortified and I just want to know how many other parents have been in the same situation as me where it's like we talked about it a lot that Jackson used to just like roam around come out of his room all the time and felt like never got a break when I was awake he was awake and I mean now that doesn't happen anymore as he's gotten a little bit older and he just I mean we've established like very strong boundaries in the house but I just wonder how many people would wait until like one o'clock in the morning to have sex because they were afraid for their kids to like walk in wake up yeah yeah like I need to know you're like very asleep. I mean why is that something that we have to think about like why.
Starting point is 01:05:26 I mean some people just get it when they can and some people will set up appointments in the middle of the night like I whatever works you know appointment. Is that or is that not a dick appointment. Yes, it it definitely is never thought of it like that but now that you say that that's what it would be referred to. So you're welcome. Thank you for for the advice on that. Here's another one this mom says that she was 20 minutes late coming from work to pick up her kids from school so not only did she have to pay $10 per kid for five kids to release them they all got lunch detention for a week. I feel very strongly about this like how are you lunch detention for your parent being late exactly that was my thought like how are you going to penalize the kid. Because their parent was not that's not a thing that is not appropriate.
Starting point is 01:06:19 No, I don't agree with that at all. It's not appropriate punishment. Now I mean being late from from work get it like probably happens more times than it doesn't happen. And I also think I just know what after school program cost per day in my area and it's like $10 per day. So I think charging someone an additional $10 per child that for five children that's $50 that's excessive to me also. But that's also it's almost like they're being punished twice for the same crime being charged and the kids have to do lunch detention. And I mean don't they know anything about the justice system like in this country like you can't be charged twice for the same crime. I mean don't they know this.
Starting point is 01:07:10 I am very, very upset for that parent that wrote in because that's I don't feel like that's acceptable at all and I would be literally writing into the school like who do y'all think you are. I know you would. That's why I read it. I was like, I cannot imagine this happening to kill like you like flinging through there like in your suburban getting out in your Yeezy's and leather jacket like to pick up your children late. They tell you that you owe $50 like bye. I think okay like I could I do kind of understand like the money situation because you're also like the program or whatever I get it but the lunch detention is excessive to me. Yeah, and I mean I just also I don't know I feel for the parents. Okay, like some for a lot of families that have to send their children to after school program because they're still working which is a huge majority of the population.
Starting point is 01:08:06 $10 let's say they have three kids that's $30 to send them for after school. Right. Adding another $30 onto that is excessive like I don't know I just feel like that is completely unfair and that's almost setting families up for complete failure for them to then have like a balance on their thing for being like I see what you're saying. Okay, I see what you're saying like they're already needing help and then you're going to charge them like what would be an appropriate like what what is the word like I'm thinking like consequence like. An appropriate like maybe they can't attend after school after a certain amount of late or something but like financially penalizing parents that are already utilizing the after school program to me just like is not a resolve. It's like counter counterproductive. Yeah, it's like counterintuitive to me. I would be curious to know what other schools have for like their like consequence or whatever.
