Coffee Convos with Kail Lowry and Lindsie Chrisley - 197: In Need of a Handyman, Meditation, and M.A.S.H.

Episode Date: December 23, 2021

On this week's episode of Coffee Convos Kail and Lindsie are thinking a lot about realistic and unrealistic futures they could have. It's so convenient to have a partner who is able to handle tasks yo...u would normally have to call someone for. How difficult could it be to find someone who can mow the lawn and change the oil? And Kail has recently started using a meditation app and tells Lindsie how it has already started to help her. There are so many different ways you can use meditation to fit your needs, and Kail and Lindsie are diving in. Plus it's time to revisit an old grade school classic, M.A.S.H. Lindsie and Kail play a round with listener submitted options to find out what their fake (or in another life) future looks like! Starting point is 00:00:00 Hello. Hello. I didn't know if you could hear me happy Wednesday coffee combos listeners this happy Thursday actually. It's Wednesday for us but Thursday for them. Right, right, right, right. You're right. Happy Thursday. Therapy is for Thursdays and you know what? Oh wow, you're going camera on. Hi Lindsay. Are you sorry? Oh my gosh. I'm not going camera on. If you want to turn yours back off, you can. I look absolutely wild. Do you look atrocious right now? I look atrocious right now. I am very atrocious looking and Lincoln is in the other room. Oh my gosh. Speaking of Jackson had a dentist appointment yesterday and they're still strictly like on a mask policy so you can't even enter the office without being masked and they don't allow parents
Starting point is 00:01:06 to go in and I don't know of any parents who are listening but I guess I am now if you listen to the Southern Tea this week. Kale, have you ever heard of the term lawnmower parent? Absolutely not. Just helicopter, helicopter parents. So evidently my girlfriend Caroline was explaining on there what it is. I still don't fully understand but the way she explained it, that's what I am and it's really hard to do these doctor's appointments and stuff and not be able to go in and just like feel like you're there. It feels like such a level of them having to grow up with out-you-hand holding and not that type of parent. Do you let the kids go into the dentist like by themselves, check themselves in and that kind of thing? So actually you know I was
Starting point is 00:02:00 a, do you know I was a dental assistant for a while? Yeah Kale, duh. Okay so I was a dental assistant and that was one of the things that was like for us like working in the dental office it's it actually goes a lot smoother for everybody when the parents do not come back and so as a dental assistant I knew that and I absolutely love my kid's dentist like I love him. I think he's great. I think he does a great job and you know he's just he's very like as the word reputable. He is very whatever makes everybody comfortable so like he doesn't mind if the parents go back but there are a lot of dentists that don't allow it but I could understand why parents wouldn't want that. Like you wouldn't you don't know what's going on when you're not back there and so it's
Starting point is 00:02:54 just like an extra level of like precaution I guess. I've never heard of a lawnmower parent. I've never even. So I looked it up and it says a lawnmower parent are the newest breed of overbearing parents who are excessively involved in their children's lives. They plow ahead, micromanaging, interfering and arranging. The goal is to protect them from failure, disappointment, discomfort and adversity and so it's hard because I all I guess I fall in the category of a lawnmower parent but in a controlled environment. I feel like I have a completely different parenting style. Does that make sense? Like I allow Jackson mistakes. Like for example he's not the greatest with scissors and never has been like literally I worry about his fingers all the time but when
Starting point is 00:03:46 he's at home I would let him cut papers do whatever because I know that I still have control of that situation but at school I would probably be like hey make sure that like you're using protective scissors like if I'm not there you know. So right and then it's interesting because we had also talked about the what what did we dub it we didn't dub it but the parenting style the that we were talking about understanding or parental parenting. Yeah like dental parenting I also feel like I implement that a little bit too so it's hard. I don't just like a hybrid. I also think I'm a hybrid. I also think that I parent all of my children a little bit different based on like each child's personality and things like that. Speaking of all of these dental things I took
Starting point is 00:04:42 I need to tell you about yesterday. So Lincoln was out of school he was going to an orthodontist appointment and because the dentist was concerned about his front two teeth because one of them I'll post a picture so you guys can understand what I meant what I mean. One of his teeth is behind the bottom row of teeth. Does that make sense? Yes yes. The one's in front where it should be in ones behind. The dentist was like you might want to go have him checked out at the orthodontist to have this looked at because they're gonna you know they might want to correct that correct this before he gets braces. Okay not a problem Javi knew about this appointment take him and they're saying okay he needs to get spacers in his teeth next week next month
Starting point is 00:05:38 and then from there he'll wear an expander on the roof of his mouth for three months and then he'll get you know do like the braces and all that and that'll give him some time to lose some more baby teeth and they do um the x-ray the pictures and it's not only showing it he not only has that issue with the one in the front and one in the back his adult teeth that are coming in the top incisors are coming in crooked and his on the right side of his mouth Lindsay his adult teeth are all overlapping. Oh my so Javi had um right so Javi had an invisible line as an adult and he had to have his teeth pulled in order to like make it work like his adult teeth pulled so they were basically saying like by doing this expander and stuff like that now it would
Starting point is 00:06:30 hopefully and I say hopefully in air quotes you guys can't see me but hopefully in air quotes because there's still like a possibility that they would do all of this and then still have to still have to pull teeth like as an adult. I say all of this to say that while Lincoln is going to have a long road of metal in his mouth um ahead of him insurance is a fucking scam because um I did not anticipate and I wish that you guys could see me recording right now because I'm shaking my head and my fucking fingers um I did not expect to pay $940 at the orthodontist yesterday. I thought it was like a checkup to see what we would be doing and then like do that like starting maybe next year. No they needed in order to move forward with his spacers and
Starting point is 00:07:21 expander next month I had to pay out of pocket $940 that's after insurance and after a family discount and then on top of that he that doesn't include the braces. Oh gosh so wait all of this is transpiring is this why we didn't like Harvey yesterday? So Harvey was like now this is the parenting part of it. I said I texted him and I was like here's the bill or whatever mind you I accidentally pay him half instead of requesting it on Venmo you know how you can request or pay not only did I pay it and I meant to request half he said well I pay for the dental insurance every month um and you know he did the math x amount times 12 times eight years and he was like so I'm not paying half. So then you guys started going at it? I was like well that's not my fault the
Starting point is 00:08:22 state of Delaware ordered like you the state of Delaware typically unless like expressly agreed otherwise typically the father is responsible for the insurance. So like I think that's standard actually um and people can correct us if we're wrong but that's also I believe standard in my state as well and you being ordered to hold your child on your medical dental vision whatever that insurance and then it's very separate than what you would owe for co-pays etc etc um I think that that is a disconnect for a lot of people actually. Well so the so with Joe I have Isaac on my insurance because Joe he needed I don't know how to word this without like being like offensive but like he needed help at the time and so like him paying for the insurance he would have
Starting point is 00:09:27 if I didn't put him on my insurance I would have been paying child support instead. Yeah so for me it just for us it made sense for me to just put Isaac on my insurance and then for Lux and Creed like obviously they're on my insurance because I already have a policy for me and Isaac so they're on my insurance but like hobby through his work has insurance so like that's the only reason why Lincoln is on hobbies but he was like I'm not gonna pay it. I hope he was kidding I think he was kidding but I did then turn around and request not pay the money that I paid him that he I should have requested and then also the half of the the bill so I mean right now I don't have debit cards he doesn't have debit cards he said he lost his I mine were both compromised so I'm
Starting point is 00:10:14 really operating on strictly cash right now until my new cards come. I want to know how many people actually operate off of like Cash App, Apple Pay, Venmo, I actually hate those services but also love them for like if you're in a pinch I'm very old school I like just my debit card I hate when they added the damn chip like oh the chip is a pain in the fucking ass that really really chapped my ass. It's still chapped. I don't like I do I don't mind Venmo and Cash App because I do a lot of stuff on there I also have PayPal for like business purposes but like I have I don't have credit cards outside of one like bank credit card like through my bank and if it wasn't for that I and I had to take cash out of that so it was like um I don't know if it's like a cash line of
Starting point is 00:11:12 credit or whatever like I really don't use credit cards so um that's what I've been doing and then just like paying yeah it's been just like a fucking hot ass mess but anyways that's what I wanted to vent to insurance is weird um but here we are. Are you guys we're gonna take a quick break to talk about one of our partners Warby Parker and I am so excited about this partnership because I just recently found out that I needed to get glasses I didn't know where to start and Kale told me about Warby Parker if you guys have not heard of them they were founded with a rebellious spirit and a lofty goal to create boutique quality eyewear at a revolutionary price point offering eyeglasses sunglasses contact lenses and eye exams and Warby Parker is committed to providing exceptional
Starting point is 00:12:06 vision care online and in stores they have glasses that start at $95 including prescription lenses and I did the whole um free home try-on program and I thought it was phenomenal because it allowed me to try on different shaped glasses I didn't really know what I needed and I didn't know what color that I wanted so you guys can do this too you just order five pair of glasses to try on at home for free for five days there's no obligation to buy ships free and includes a prepaid return shipping label so don't let your FSA or HSA dollars go to waste put them to good use on Warby Parker prescription glasses prescription sunglasses contact lenses and eye exams you can try five pair of glasses at home for free at Warby Parker dot com slash combos I actually wanted to tell you
Starting point is 00:13:08 that I did an on-camera interview with in touch yesterday and it was good and I loved the girl that interviewed me she was so cute and quirky but we were talking about me being like an organized person and I was like wow I really need to like brush up on this on coffee combos because I also feel like I'm gonna hybrid in this area as well I think I'm chaotically organized like all stuff has a place and as far as like my house and stuff is concerned I feel like it's rather organized outside of like my countertops which in my bathroom not not my kitchen anymore but in my bathroom that's something I'll touch on in just a second but I am the worst Christmas shopper and the worst gift wrapper like ever and I need to know how to get better at this because I am
Starting point is 00:14:18 fully like okay with being the type of person to get like a nice gift bag and put some tissue and like call it a day but apparently that's not like the proper way and some people go way all out like they will get gift wrapping that matches like the bows or the ribbons that have the matching tags and like all this stuff and it makes me so overwhelmed um my parents are actually like that and it makes me feel like I'm not adequate because I don't know what I'm doing like I think it's all a good idea and it's all good and great but I'm also okay with a gift bag and I need to know if this is like a 50-50 thing or like 50% of the people who are listening to this the same as me or it are more people like major gift wrappers and organized Christmas shoppers and that type
Starting point is 00:15:11 of thing because today I'm going to the mall and it's like 10 days before Christmas okay no that's a hard no I used to be that way too waiting until the end and then when I was doing like when I got involved with it and then I started to order gifts like pretty much starting in the summertime like start collecting things for like gift giving that was a huge lifesaver I also do not do when I do it I don't do gift paper like I don't do like wrapping I'm just not that tight like that's just like not who I am I did when I used to celebrate Christmas um like do it for the kids because they don't give a shit how nicely wrapped it is like they don't care um my best friend Sterling her family does everything that you just described with like the matching bows and the gift wrap
Starting point is 00:16:03 and then the ribbon and the tags and they hire people and have like in their workshop they have like an actual workshop where they have an they literally do like an assembly line of all their gift wrapping stuff probably because they gift so much and they also like it all matches and stuff but like I can't imagine like I'm just not that I'm not that good that's literally my parents and I respect it so much because it's such a beautiful like display and everything looks so nice and it's so thoughtful and caring and all of these things but then I feel like the most uncaring um dumb person because I'm probably gonna show up with a gift bag and it's not that I don't care I just don't know how to fucking wrap the gift just imagine like me showing
Starting point is 00:16:56 up and then their stuff like being all so nice and like the paper at the end everybody knows what I'm talking about like where you fold the corners that I don't know how to do like it's all so nice and like pristine and looks so good and then mine's all like crumpled oh same I'm just not but like also know like the people don't care like it looks nice but like if that's not what we're known for why are we wasting our time like you know which family you're getting gifts from if it's really nice like you know that's their thing yeah but like I also went to container store and bought all of these like um I guess complimentary wrapping papers so they all kind of were like themed and they go together and they match because that's what I was like taught
Starting point is 00:17:49 to do but I'm like why did I seriously spend so much money on wrapping paper from the container store when I'm just it's gonna be a crumpled humbo jumbo mess not a crumpled humbo jumbo mess um why I can't I also whenever I had a Philadelphia meet come to my house Kate did like all this stuff and like organized everything um once we've talked about it a hundred times once you have a place for everything it's so easy to keep up with and I think the the container store every day for that um the container store literally I could I could live if I had nothing else to do I would choose to live the container store oh same gives me a sense of peace like therapy actually let's talk about math I just posted Isaac's marking period two report card on my instagram
Starting point is 00:18:55 and he got straight a's which made me so proud and I say all that to say that he didn't get those grades from not trying or not getting extra help he got those grades because he got extra help and as a parent I just want to do you know I have to go above and beyond for my kids and school because I didn't have somebody who did that for me like I really could have done better had I had the necessary tools to succeed that's the magic of ID tech instructors they make abstract concepts relatable and help students latch onto math and other STEM subjects with actual interests so I say all this to say that we love ID tech this is where kids and teens learn from the best and they have live instructors making learning fun with engaging courses in coding design game
Starting point is 00:19:40 development math and more um and math especially for me I just didn't I wasn't good at it Isaac is good at it and he thrives there and he wants to know more and he wants to learn how to code and do all of that and so this is literally so perfect for him and it's good for Lincoln and Lux too just because they're never gonna not need this stuff so right now ID tech is offering a great deal you can get started with a one-on-one tutoring lesson for 49 dollars or you can save 150 dollars on weekly small group semesters they offer a variety of math homework help options which is really great especially for you know kids that need help but also kids that are thriving that need a challenge so I highly recommend this um your kids can stress less and celebrate more
Starting point is 00:20:20 when they ace those assignments and tests Isaac had along with his a straight a report card he also had a's on papers that came home with him so that was really nice to see um they have one-on-one tutoring and weekly small group semesters and there's something for every kid every interest and every skill level so don't feel like you know there's not something for for your child because I promise you there is and they have scheduling which is fast and flexible with options guaranteed to fit your family's busy schedule um you guys know I talk on the podcast a lot about football we have football four times a week right now plus piano lessons plus everything else that we have going on um you guys don't want to miss this opportunity so go to idtech.com slash combos
Starting point is 00:20:59 right now use the code combos and save 150 dollars on weekly small group semesters for a limited time you can also get started with a one-on-one tutoring session for just 49 dollars that's code combos at idtech.com slash combos to save 150 dollars and your child can start learning online from a live instructor right now idtech.com slash combos actually while we are recording my new assistant Heather her boyfriend who is super super handy is here hanging some of my photos and stuff and it was funny he came down the stairs and um he was also deconstructing Jackson's bathroom and like the faucet and stuff and he was like well um are we set on this or are we like just using this for the color or like what's the deal evidently I ordered
Starting point is 00:22:03 faucets that don't fit the holes so good okay so you're doing well yeah I'm doing really well but then it made me think like I feel like that should be a requirement in my next whatever I'm gonna be in that I need somebody who is like a handy dandy man okay I also agree with that I it's been so difficult like I guess like the two people that I've dated that are like super hard workers they are absolutely not handy they're not they don't mow the lawn they don't hang things they can't build shit they don't change my oil like shit like that but I'm like can we not have it all like can I not have one single person that does all of those things and has a regular job and also has no children like is there not can I not have that I would just love to know about other people
Starting point is 00:22:59 feel like this is a requirement because it's a requirement I have created the requirement this is a requirement for me will was like pretty handy like he can pretty much do anything except remember that one story that I told you about him making the picture frames out of the pallets and hung them on the wall and the next day I went into the bathroom and they were like all apart I don't remember that but I feel like I remember that but yeah like he he went and got all of these pallets and made these picture frames and I guess use some type of like industrial style stapler to put the pallets together to make the frame and when I went into the bathroom they were literally like all deconstructed off the wall and at that point I was like okay that should
Starting point is 00:23:52 have been the sign that we get divorced um no I'm just kidding but I did not come from handy men and so I am not a handy lady I can't put things together um I'm just not good at it and so I I do think that that's also a requirement for me I I'm wholeheartedly just agree with that it's it's I it sounds so trivial and it sounds like something so unimportant when you talk about it in passing or like in just like general conversation but like why why am I paying my landscaping bill to include mowing like okay maybe you don't want to weed maybe you don't want to weed my my rock beds and things like that like fine we can come around yeah but like I feel like you should maybe mow the lawn so that can be financially off my plate and I feel like
Starting point is 00:24:55 instead of me hiring my friend's dad to hang stuff and fix my my shower in my master bath in my current house right now the we've had the house for like well I've had the house for like seven years but the like the shower to turn the water on it was stripped somehow I don't even know like how it happened just like one day I couldn't turn it on anymore well my handy guy his name's Adrienne he was out in Puerto Rico for like a month or two so like he couldn't fix it and I didn't know anyone else to fix it and I'm not calling a plumber like I'm not going to call a plumber to come fix this they'll probably charge me twice as much as Adrienne would charge me um long story short I had a shower in my kid's bathroom for like three months and it's just
Starting point is 00:25:37 like little shit like that that I should not like why am I hiring people out like met like I can't it's it's just annoying like why am I why would I want to be in a relationship with someone that cannot do shit like physically around the house and like help me keep up like if you're not going to take that shit off my plate then what the hell am I dealing with you call me shallow if you want I don't care what are we doing literally speaking of my new assistant um do you know that I have such a level of peace kill um you know how you say that you don't know where you would be without Kristen yeah I literally don't I feel that like so hard whenever you can um and Heather had been working for me for a couple of days the level of peace that I feel like I had and knowing that like
Starting point is 00:26:36 I could leave my house and not have to worry about anything was so nice and I just I can't even describe like the level of thankfulness you know how you talk about how you're so thankful for your car yeah every day I'm so you're like yeah um I'm so thankful for my car as well but I'm also so thankful for Heather I I just yeah actually that was what I worked on in therapy yesterday was um my therapist has me download the calm app this isn't an ad I wish it was um um yeah and she was saying and I was asking her I'm like looking through this stuff and I'm like I wonder if there is like because yes I'm thankful every single day for my car but like I need to feel that way about all the things I have like I need to feel that way about having an office
Starting point is 00:27:29 to come to and having a home to go to and like just like all the things in life so she was like there is like meditations for that through the calm app and so I was actually started listening to I listened to one with Isaac I listened to a different one with Lincoln because I they're all they all need to focus on different things and so one of them that came up for me that I I hearted to go back to is a gratitude one like I want to just be better with gratitude in general wait can you teach me how to do this like how do you even know how to meditate you know how you've asked me before like how do you pray yeah I think it's kind of like they're very similar but like what do you do like explain the process like what are you doing when you're doing this
Starting point is 00:28:11 so I mind these are guided meditations so that they help like explain so I had something happen to me a couple weeks ago that I had to go through and deal with in therapy and things like that and my therapist had me do like this breathing exercise where you like close your eyes and like focus on your breath and then like you pay attention to like at first it's like your head in your scalp and then your temples and you feel like then you move down to your like your neck and your jaw like letting tension go taking deep breaths and things like that and then like what I was dealing with at the time for that specific session it was I felt like the tingling which is like anxiety and stuff and it's just kind of training your mind to be present and like
Starting point is 00:28:58 I think when you like sit down you're like let me just take a few minutes to myself you start still one like your mind is drifting off to other things like oh I got to pay these bills I got to get the kids from school I got to get this and that but teaching yourself to bring yourself back to the present moment what do you feel what do you see what do you touch you know things in that moment and so that's kind of what my therapist and I and I are working on is like having maybe 15 minutes a day where I'm focused on right here and now only how am I feeling what do I see and then that creates like new pathways to deal with stress does that make sense or not really yeah but like is there something that you can like help me and people who are listening
Starting point is 00:29:36 how do you how to do this like yeah go yes so it sounds really dumb and it's it's I was a little apprehensive to do it but down this is not an ad the calm app you're gonna go download the calm app and you're gonna type in like there's calm kids which literally I'm not even kidding you like I with this is why I wish this was a paid ad um put luxe to sleep he we listened to jack and the bean stock um guided meditation like this calm kids sleep and I'm talking I still have it open right now 10 minutes and eight seconds he was asleep and it was a 24 or sorry 34 minute meditation he was asleep in 10 minutes wait I'm gonna start I'm gonna start doing that with Jackson tonight he'll love the stories Lindsay he will love the stories Lincoln and I listen LeBron James has one
Starting point is 00:30:24 on here and he talks about um for the one that we listened to was just like dedication because I think that that could be good for Lincoln um we started listening to that one and he kind of tells his story and like just like listening to like how calm his voice is and like telling his story and like how that made him feel and things like that's not a podcast it's literally like thinking about you know how he felt in those moments and things like that and then I did um one with Isaac was just like a daily calm and so you start by like closing your eyes getting comfortable and then like doing the breathing exercises and do like the head down to your you know your neck and your shoulders your back your feet your arms all of that until you you know open your eyes in
Starting point is 00:31:07 10 minutes and then how do you feel things like that so I personally recommend this I'm gonna keep doing it I'll keep you guys posted on my progress with it but there's there's like age groups on it for like different like Jackson would be probably a Lincoln's age group. Wait Jackson is obsessed with LeBron James and everything basketball so should we do that one tonight? Yes you could do that one tonight he has just you just get the call map and in the call map just search for LeBron James and it'll come up. Oh my god I'm gonna love you so much for this I already love you. You're gonna love it. It's so good speaking of therapy actually I had therapy today and um I also need to work on gratitude and I just feel like with all of the things that I've
Starting point is 00:31:56 navigated that have been so heavy for the past couple of years therapy has been such a huge part of truly me feeling like I can survive like some stuff that I've gone through I've thought like this is gonna kill me have you ever like yes yes I felt like that when I went to sleep um the night before Thanksgiving like this is gonna kill me that I'm gonna wake up and Jackson's not gonna be here and I almost was trying to like convince myself that I was I could be okay or like that I was gonna be okay but then I realized I just needed to like stand still like in that moment and just feel all of the things that I was feeling uninterrupted and I think that that was so helpful but therapy to me navigating through all of what I would say like these tough waters that
Starting point is 00:33:09 I've been going through has been such a nice way to keep me grounded and looking at the big picture you know what I mean sometimes it's like easy to get lost in the sauce and like want to be petty on certain things and want to focus on the things that like aren't really important but I feel like every week that I go to therapy I kind of like reground myself yes it's if nothing else that is I love that because I need like refocus recharge redirect I love that so like even if you're not digging deep into like past traumas from when you were five like you can still at least calm down and like redirect focus shift wherever is necessary I I love that just like ground yourself are you guys we are going to stop
Starting point is 00:34:09 and talk about one of our partners Athena Club you guys know when I talked about them before I absolutely love Athena Club so much I actually just got out of the shower and shaved my legs tonight and I think it gives the best shave Athena Club razors are designed with built-in skin guards to help prevent razor burn while being gentle on curves and the razor blade is surrounded by a water activated serum with shea butter and hyaluronic acid which is a holy grail for skincare and the best part about it is the razor kit is only $9 and it comes with two blade heads a magnetic hook for shower storage and your choice of handle color and the razor has six color options but they also have black and white razors which I have never seen before from other brands I have
Starting point is 00:35:01 the white one the light pink one the light blue one I might have the black one underneath my sink but I have them in different bathrooms of my house and then one travel razor and would not use another razor and I think it's so great because you never have to worry about running out of refills or being stuck with a dull overused razor you can choose how often replacement blades are sent to you with free shipping and that means fresh ready to use razors always arrive right when you need them and also you guys have to try their cloud shave foam I had not used a shave foam and so long before I started using this but it is such a premium experience to nourish your skin while shaving so if you guys are interested show your skin you care with the Athena Club razor kit sign
Starting point is 00:35:48 up today and you'll get 20% off your first order just go to athenaclub.com and use promo code coffee combos that's A-T-H-E-N-A-C-L-U-B dot com with promo code coffee combos for 20% off I just would like to say that if one more person calls me like while I am in this recording it's like my phone will be not my text messages those are always off the chain but like yeah my phone calls I swear it's like people will know I am recording and then start calling me when I'm recording but then the rest of the day it's like they're nowhere to be found I don't know why that happens but that's why I literally any group chats we're on do not disturb at all times but when I have my phone on me I just put on do not disturb because I also will
Starting point is 00:36:58 get really frustrated people are constantly calling and I also just like don't like when if I don't know the number if I don't have it saved I'm not answering it's so annoying and Jackson cracks me up he's like if this person if he doesn't want someone to call him like a specific person he'll be like I'm reporting this as spam so it'll come up scam likely scam bye does your phone do that where it's like yes I'm likely yeah and I'm like how do they how do they know I will tell you I got bamboozled the other day I was pulling out of the driveway and a number called and it did not say scam likely I don't know why um it obviously scammed the filter of scam likely as well but I answered the phone and
Starting point is 00:37:51 like the timing for everything was spot on and this was going on for like probably over 30 seconds and I was like hello and then the person you know like responds on time and all the way up until it says this is a call about your extended warranty for your car and you're like uh I don't know and I'm like extended warranty my car is like a year old not even like a year old what are we taught like why why do they these people think that extended warranty calls are necessary like why is this a scam thing that happens all the time I've been getting extended warranty calls for like years now I that's weird that's really weird you don't get them I do but like I I actually have like extended warranty offers like on the car so like I understand why they call me wait
Starting point is 00:38:46 do we think that I have extended warranty offers on the car and I'm ignoring these people this not a scam no I'm just saying like mine are probably actually from Chevy or like um GMC like whoever builds my Chevy like yours might scam likely is not like I've gotten scam likely calls but I don't answer them so I don't know if those are extended warranty but like I've gotten like actual numbers that call for extended warranty that are like we're calling about your Chevy suburb like my actual car does that make sense yeah but now you're making me be paranoid right now because what if I have been ignoring these warranty calls all this time and it's like actual warranty oh is it real I don't think it's real I still think it's a scam I think it's a scam I think
Starting point is 00:39:35 it falls under the category of scam likely um okay so before we get into the the map what is it mash mash okay you posted that and then you posted something else I posted a yeah because I wanted to read a wax story like a really gross wax story wait I want to know about it you want me to read it first wait before we do that though I just I have this big thing that I want to talk about it's probably not even important but it's super important to me at this moment but it's about Walmart and Target it's so important Walmart and Target it's so important because I used to like not be a fan of Walmart at all like really like even for groceries yeah like I used to just not be a fan um I hadn't been a fan for from Walmart since I was like getting hit clips and like spice girl
Starting point is 00:40:41 Barbie dolls and I was like totally off Walmart but now um I feel like they have such cute and like affordable stuff like in their clothing section sometimes and even 100 it's fashionable and I'm like okay wow maybe I can like get behind Walmart but I also and this might be a very unpopular opinion but I also feel like they have a way better toy section than Target does I think Walmart's toy section has always been a one you do think so too yeah I have I've never had Target section they they have some toys but I wouldn't say that they're like super I don't know competitive really with their toys yeah I mean I feel like they're just not as good as Walmart I would I would like to know if someone thinks that the Target toy section is better than Walmart I just needed to say that
Starting point is 00:41:43 because Jackson's super into Pokemon right now and I feel like they have so many more things Walmart and this has been like an ongoing trend for pretty much everything that he's been into for probably the last six to seven months and then when I was thinking about I did an elf on the shelf last night and it was Pokemon and it made me think these and like our childhood do you remember when Burger King used to do Pokemon burger can use no I don't remember we didn't have when was this in the 90s oh no I didn't have a Burger King where I lived we only had McDonald's and Arby's oh that's that's a shame I had to Burger King was like an hour away I used to an hour away yeah Taco Bell too okay that's a whole you you population of my hometown
Starting point is 00:42:44 is only 4,000 people no did y'all even have a blockbuster we did have a block what um no we didn't have a I'm trying to think no we didn't have a blockbuster no we had a sneaker king what's that a what a sneaker king it's kind of like um like a footlocker but like not is that like Payless no I have like brand names we had a Payless too oh my gosh I told you that I got my first jelly shoes from Payless ever um Loved that but Burger King used to carry Pokemon like back in the 90s and I was talking to someone that I can't tell you about um but I remember bamboozling my parents and telling them that I really wanted the chicken fries from Burger King so that I could go and get the Pokemon toys shut up shut up but I would be like I really want the
Starting point is 00:43:53 chicken fries do you remember the chicken fries from Burger King first of all I yeah I would still eat them if given the opportunity yeah they're so they're a treat they're a special a very special situation they they freaking hit they really do um by the way when everyone listens to this I'm going to be at Disney World literally flinging myself off of roller coasters probably barfing so um everyone should pray for me in that moment okay well we will be playing we will be praying for you um and you know what else I'm really excited about is how organized unorganized I am because I went on Amazon and got some packing cubes for mine and Jackson's bags do you use packing cubes for your kids so I had never heard of packing cubes until the trip for
Starting point is 00:44:47 Atlanta whenever I went to just go see you recently I did not know about them and my friend texted me and was like here and she sent me a link and I was like what the fuck is that and she was like they're packing cubes you're gonna love them so I did not order them yet but I'm going to for the next trip because you and I have a trip coming up in what March yeah so I absolutely am gonna order packing cubes and also I'll have them then for our aruba vacation that we're doing I love it actually a lot of people messaged me and said that they have been to aruba and felt very safe so if that's only if it's only a six by 20 mile island I just don't understand like how is crime even happening well I mean I don't think it's the size of the place that matters really
Starting point is 00:45:42 like like I guess like where are you gonna go and like run and hide you have to get on a plane like why would you commit crime there maybe they're just like convicts and don't care okay okay maybe it's just like it's just like rogue I don't know hell I hope you guys have a good time and I hope it's a blast do you want me to read the story or not yes okay this is I don't know if you're ready okay waxing story I'm an esthetician and I work at a sugar in studio one time I had a lady turn over for her butt and she spread her cheeks and I'm gonna throw up I didn't read this before we came on I did not read this before this was sent to me by Kristen I did not read this um okay let me try this again why did Kristen do this to us one time I know
Starting point is 00:46:40 one time I had a lady turn over for the butt and she spread her cheeks and had a smear of orange diarrhea in there I almost freaked out then the diarrhea then got picked up by the sugar so I was literally holding her diarrhea in my hand now she said there was another time where I'm assuming a lady had just come from a dick appointment because the entire crime she was queefing I don't even know what to say to that I don't even like why I don't even like what wait wait um when you I don't even know how to say this without it just sounding so foul what is it but like when you come from a dick appointment like what do you mean like you
Starting point is 00:47:39 you lift your legs up and like stuff comes out like queefing like are they talking about are you asking what that what that is like yeah like what is it a queef is like um it's air that comes out it's kind of like passing gas but not really gas it's just like air out of your vagina so like usually from like sex or something because the air is also going like it comes out like a fart but it's like not a fart stop you've never heard of this wait is this embarrassing to people oh you want me to tell you a story because I have one yeah I will never like and forget this okay well this was one of my baby dads yeah unfortunately it's about me um I was having sex with one of my kid's dads for the
Starting point is 00:48:37 very first time ever and when we were done I like went to get up and it just was like coming out like it was like like I'm so humiliated I cannot believe I'm even saying this it was like literally like a minute long of just like I'm gonna hit my head off his desk right now I'm gonna regret saying this but like I think just because you're literally not taking this out first of all don't even trust it secondly it was like I grabbed I literally grabbed my cat to like prevent it because I had this was the first time I ever queefed in my entire life that I had so I like looked up at him and my face was mortified and he started laughing and he's like what it's fine he's like it's a queef and I looked at him and I'm like what's a queef like
Starting point is 00:49:35 how did he know what it what it was and I didn't and I'm like grabbing my cat and it's like just like literal air coming out it's literally purring like I'm dead wait can you tell me what year the child was born hey for effort um I'm I'm gonna assume that it was with hobby absolutely I'm not answering that because then it's process of elimination but okay so it was with Chris I hope you have a good day we love green chef we just love the meal kits because of football busy days we're moving soon and we I don't want like the extra ingredients that I know that I either may not use or might not get used um right now and we're moving in less than a month so green chef is perfect because
Starting point is 00:50:43 all the ingredients are already pre-portioned so you'll actually reduce your food waste by at least 25% which is exactly what I'm trying to do before this move and just like in general too moving into the new year we just I don't want to be wasteful I don't want to waste money on food products you know trash all of that so this is literally perfect for anyone that is kind of in the same boat um green chef makes cooking easy so you can spend less time stressing and more time enjoying delicious food um I love that I'm able to try things that I wouldn't normally try um last night we did um pork bowls that had like rice and pork and a little bit of cabbage that would not be something that I would ever normally try but because it's green chef I love
Starting point is 00:51:23 it because it's it's like I said pre-portioned ingredients and also it's just like new flavors that I wouldn't know how to put together without them so green chef is america's number one meal kit for eating well with dinners that work for you not the other way around green chef's options for every lifestyle include keto and paleo options vegan vegetarian fast and fit Mediterranean and gluten-free options whether you're looking for a carb conscious gluten-free or plant-based or just want to have delicious balanced dishes green chef has flavorful good for you recipes that are sure to satisfy you're gonna love this stuff go to green chef dot com slash convos 10 and use convos 10 to get 10 free meals including free shipping again go to green chef dot com slash
Starting point is 00:52:07 convos 10 and use code convos 10 to get 10 free meals including free shipping green chef in number one meal kit for eating well before we get into mash I did want to say that I had posted about covering the josh dugger scandal yeah I feel like that is almost an entire episode and it's not and there is so much um info gathering because there is so much info out there and the amount of people that sent me messages and the interest in that is so like I think it was 84% of my following was interested in us covering that which I think is a high percentage so I want to save this until after the Christmas break so that we can really like dive in to all of that and and be very thorough when we do because it's pretty heavy okay that's fine I actually I hadn't followed the case
Starting point is 00:53:16 too much but I saw the interest level from our listeners and also my friend started texting me about it and so it kind of worked out that it was like being asked for of our listeners and then also he sent me he was sending me a bunch of stuff so definitely down we would have to do some some research but yeah for sure um so look forward to that and now we're going to get into mash so um do you want me to how do we play I've never played mash okay so what what's the rules like I've never played this um I'm highly concerned about your childhood did you even live when you were a child yeah kale I was making time capsules I wasn't doing shit what the fuck is a time capsule what do you mean what does that even mean that's you were busy making time capsules what is that
Starting point is 00:54:08 no it's like where you bury stuff and like think you're going to come back in like 20 years and get it and then you forget where you bury it and you're so dumb as a kid oh my god what do you did you really bury stuff yeah and like think I was going to remember where I buried things and where I was going to come back and get it when I was like 30 or I was going to go back and get it when I was like 25 and the only one that I can specifically remember that I buried was at a Montessori school in Anderson South Carolina I buried something there at the like after school program with my brother and I remember drinking power aids when we were doing it and then when I started thinking about this just now were you a power aid or a gatorade person I've always been
Starting point is 00:54:59 a gatorade but like I wouldn't turn down a power aid if I if that was the only option I'm also a gatorade person but they just had a window that had power aid in it so we got power aids every day but yeah I was busy bearing time capsules not playing mash so what is this okay well mash is a game where um mash stands for mansion apartment shack or house okay okay um you are I'm gonna say I'm gonna normally like how I played as a kid I would be like making tallies and then you would tell me when to stop I would count the tallies and then I'll run through these okay so we have two sets we have one for me and one for you okay so I'm gonna do yours first I'm gonna I'm gonna start the tallies and you're gonna tell me when to stop okay ready go
Starting point is 00:55:56 stop one two three four five okay so six so now I'm gonna go through when it says Mary now I have to I have to do process of elimination here your Mary are Pete Davidson Joe Rivera Tristan Thompson or Will Ferrell you're gonna live now I gotta do process elimination at the by the end of this you're gonna have one from each category telling you what your fortune is okay what your what your future holds live Janelle's compound Hawaii the Amazon or a childhood bedroom your jobs are either going to be a porn fluffer a hotel maid a wax technician or Kim K's assistant and you're either going to have no kids 20 kids two kids or 38 kids so now I'm going to go through and you got six so
Starting point is 00:56:53 we are one two three four five six you do not live in Hawaii one two three four five six you are not Kim K's assistant one two three four five six you are not marrying Joe Rivera thank god but you're not a porn fluffer one two three a porn fluffer what the fuck is a porn fluffer two three four five okay I got your life one two three four five six one two three four five six okay well this is not very accurate but maybe in a future lifetime you will be married to Tristan Thompson you're going to live in the Amazon as a hotel maid and you two will have zero children together which is probably a good thing thank god because I think that's all he does is have children yeah evidently that's all he has okay the next one we have one more
Starting point is 00:58:16 and this was also by pics of our listeners and if you want to do the tally I don't know how to go through this okay so I'll do it so these are you tell me when to stop but don't I'll tell you when to go okay ready go stop okay three cool so these are the categories Mary Post Malone Drake David Eason or Dom people really suck for that one live in Alaska mansion on the beach under a bridge or ex's garage which I kind of think is unfair because only two only one of my ex's has a garage like out of three of my baby dad's only only Javi has a garage oh my god job stripper pooper scooper janitor bus driver kids is eight two sets of twins which I guess that would be four one child or triplets so you said three one David Eason is out
Starting point is 00:59:23 oh wait what is a porn fluffer oh like I hate you oh wow my life's not looking great great welcome to the club sweetie oh okay one what is it and don't you better not rig yours oh no got it oh wait one two three oh wow okay yikes um um I guess I'm I guess I'm marrying Dom I'll expect to see this later this week um we're living in Javi's garage evidently um I'm gonna be a pooper scooper and I'm gonna have eight children I mean the most accurate part of that entire thing is the eight children yeah I mean I'll own a pooper scooper company I don't know that I want to be the scooper but I would definitely
Starting point is 01:00:38 own one Anthony right now what is a porn fluffer I think a porn fluffer if I had to guess like remember when we recorded that podcast episode in the apartment of where like the ponds took place like do they like or no he was the director was he they weren't the ponds weren't at the apartment they were just owned the apartment was just owned by a director yes oh the porn couch we settled yeah I think like if I had to guess a fluffer would be like on set like fluffing the scene like so like if you're like doing wild shit on the bed and the pillows go flat like like the dick yeah like just like fluff it up maybe fix your hair maybe not fix your hair maybe fluff your hair they fluff the dick I don't know maybe a little viagra
Starting point is 01:01:30 I need to know what I need someone to write in in our comments when this goes live and tell me exactly what a porn fluffer is and how they got that job like what would you put on a resume if that's what you were a porn fluffer maybe like an on set fluffer like maybe it's like I work on movies I'm not going to specify what movies but today whoever came up with that job porn fluffer for mine you need to reveal yourself me no you not reveal yourself who came up with the idea of that being part of my job category who suggested that please and thank you I want them to reveal themselves ASAP um okay well I guess I'm gonna go to school pick up um Georgia is gonna go and play she's actually not not uh quad what would it be quad hosting with us today quad hosting yeah like three
Starting point is 01:02:42 you know like three hosts like oh that would be like try try hosting quad is four okay she's not try hosting with us today um she's gonna have a puppy play date later and I really need to get some things in order so that I can actually leave this state um in a couple of days and yeah I just hope that you guys all have blessed happy um non dramatic week and um if you guys have not followed us on at coffee combos podcast please follow us over there um on instagram and you can subscribe to us by searching the purple podcast app on any apple device just type in coffee combos click subscribe click the fist start and leave us a written review you can also find us on spotify or any other podcast app um and write in and tell us what your idea of a porn plumber is I hope you
