Starting point is 00:00:00 I hate gift-giving and receiving receiving gifts is so weird. What do you say? Thank you This is coffee convos with kale Lowry and Lindsay Chrisley. I really want you to be in your feels kale That does not interest me whatsoever I feel very attacked by you a spirited discussion about motherhood friendship family and life in the public eye I'm just not with the fakery anymore. There's a fakery bakery around here. Here's kale and Lindsay Here we go That wasn't that good. I was a little off pitch there Kale no offense, but like you're always off pitch
Starting point is 00:00:35 Are you drinking a coke from Chick-fil-A? Yeah, why are you spying on me? I heard the ice and I just knew it was Chick-fil-A ice like you heard the rattle and you're like that's Chick-fil-A That bitch has Chick-fil-A. That was not a McDonald's Um swirl of the coke and that was definitely Chick-fil-A. Yes, I actually went to go and get it less than 15 minutes before we started recording Welcome to coffee combos podcast. I hope that you guys are having a Fantastic week. Let me tell you how I started the day because Well, let me start by saying that anxiety has been kicking my ass all week And I can't really put my finger on exactly what it is, but this morning
Starting point is 00:01:19 Get all the kids out the door and into school Get to school get to Isaac school. He has to be to school first get there about 15 minutes early Probably a little bit more than 15 minutes early And I realized when Isaac was like, why are we here so early? I was like, oh fuck Like I forgot Lux's lunchbox at the house, which is not in the direction that we're going by any means So I was like, I don't know if anyone else feels this way But this is how I feel I get my kids that have to be in school first and then I do daycare play care preschool second because Unfortunately, like it's not mandatory. So if they're late, I would rather them be late than for Isaac and Lincoln to be late if that makes sense
Starting point is 00:02:00 Absolutely, so I drop Isaac off then go drop Lincoln off then go back to the house to go get Lux's lunchbox and Creed was just like happy this morning. Like he was just fine. He didn't have a fever He was cool and I happened to like just like look back and he kind of made this face and then just project I'll vomit it everywhere. Oh My god, I was like, you did it hit you? No, thank god It didn't hit me but it just and it was just not pretty at all. It was very chunky and gross and I was just like If you're a mom and you're listening or you're a parent or you're just around kids in general
Starting point is 00:02:35 You guys know like throw up is so hard to get out of something like that smell lingers and lasts forever and ever and ever So Lux and him have the same car seats, but they're like at different stages or whatever So I was gonna have to get him back in the car, but I wasn't gonna take him to school I was only gonna drop off Lux, but then a bone was like, don't worry about it Like I'll just keep him whatever so I like changed him up grab Lux's lunch, you know And as soon as I like changed his clothes, I shit you not this grown-ass 18 month old late on the couch himself and then Pulled the blanket over onto him and then laid on the couch like a grown-ass man when I send you these pictures
Starting point is 00:03:20 You're gonna be like, what the fuck? So it was really cute, but I guess he's like feeling better. I don't actually think he's like sick sick I think he has allergies and like the phlegm kind of caused him to throw up because he has no fever He's been tested for COVID. He's negative So I just don't think that he is actually sick. I think it was like the phlegm from allergies. The word phlegm makes me Yeah, also same What are the other words that we don't like? It's um moist moist Yeah, I really don't like the P word like P. U. S. That's why I really don't like it like if it comes up
Starting point is 00:03:55 Naturally, I guess like I don't like that word. I think it's so vulgar I think that's way more vulgar than see you next Tuesday. Like I feel like I've heard you say way more vulgar words than P. U. S. S. Y. I think it's just like this the sound of it like saying the word like the sound of it I'm just like you literally sound like you have Duncan. I also have Chick-fil-A. Oh, you do. I do What what did you get? Um, I don't want to say because of my trainer's listening. He will yell at you. You can't you can't withhold information It's not a thing. I'll turn the podcast off if you're a chimal. I don't care about you are listening turn it off I I have truly felt like a little nauseous today Just like my anxiety is kicking my ass so that I thought that coke would settle my stomach
Starting point is 00:04:42 Okay, so you've got a coke as well. Yeah, but we're not got it. It's not real coke It's just it's water in a Chick-fil-A cup with ice to make me feel like it's a coke Wait before we move before I just I don't know before we move on to anything else Remember over the weekend you were you sent me a text and you were like, I want to send you something but I Don't want you to get sick But then you followed up that text with but I'm gonna send it to you whenever we're recording Yeah, I'm I'm I'm 1000% gonna send you this picture when we record so I can tell you the story But I need you to I need you to be able to stomach it because it's it's pretty foul
Starting point is 00:05:25 Like it's like, what are you sending it? You tell me when and I will do it This is like essentially part of our foul play segment so I can either do it now or I can do it at the end No, like I feel like this has to be separate because I can't stomach two fouls. Okay, so I'm sick. Um, like I'm sorry already. Let me give the backstory because this is a foul play that happened to me. Oh So Let me start by saying that it was my friend bones birthday This weekend and she wanted to go out and if you guys know me, I'm an old soul. I don't want to go out I don't like drinking. I don't like doing any of that. But because it was her birthday
Starting point is 00:06:00 I was like, okay, I'll go I end up being like a designated driver You know, whatever, which is fine. Like I'm completely fine with that get home Bone actually fell asleep on the floor I'm gonna let me also preface this by saying none of my kids were home every single one of them was with their dad So not even the baby was home Bone falls asleep on the floor with her shoes on with her dress whatever and she's fine She's safe. The doors are locked go to bed. Cool in the morning I go to let my dog out and I walk through the mud room and the dog room to go outside
Starting point is 00:06:33 Now I kept smelling this like foul smell and I was like, what is that? And I'm looking around the dog room thinking dead body. Well, that's what it smelled like like I literally can't it didn't smell like shit It smelled so fast was like is putured the right word like it sounded it smelled so bad. Did it smell like Riga tortoise? So I am looking on the floor and I'm like is there dog shit somewhere and I'm missing it Like did the dog poop in my house? No, there's no poop anywhere So I ignore it and I just kept just go about my day. No, we no one does that ignoring thing that you just said No one so I'm just like in and out of the house and then I was like, oh Let me go get bones birthday card out of my truck
Starting point is 00:07:18 So I walk through the mud room again, and I walk through the dog room again And I'm still looking for shit and to the point where it's like, okay, the smell is not in the dog room It's in the mud room, which if you know From what I've posted I have like a cubby system in my mud room So there's like four cubbies and a bench and then like you can put shoes and stuff underneath the bench I'll post a picture of it whenever I get home Um for the listeners and I because I'm moving like I still kind of have shit in boxes everywhere like Just like piles of stuff like trying to organize and whatever so I don't really think to look on the bench
Starting point is 00:07:52 I'm just looking on the floor, and I don't see anything But then I look again, and I'm like, okay, this is on the bench, and I'm gonna send you what was on the bench I'm gonna be upset already. You are gonna be very upset. Am I gonna cause someone out over this? Yeah Okay, great. So preface this by saying I'm moving. It's a little messy. So Did you hear the text come through? I did. I did Oh Oh my is that a human turd or dog shit Oh, so at first I first of all I got permission to tell this story. I would not be telling
Starting point is 00:08:48 So I at first was like how did my dog get up there my dog got skid marks on it It doesn't my dog did not jump up on To my bench bone Woke up after we got home, and she fell asleep on the floor I went to bed at some point between the time I went to bed and the time I let out my dog in the morning Bone got up and tried to go to the bathroom and could not find the I'm assuming because I was I didn't I wasn't there I mean I was home, but I like wasn't there Um and sat on the bench and pooped bone was very not okay. She was okay by this photo
Starting point is 00:09:29 Okay, but I have a couple of things to say about this. So one This is your brand new house that has like actual human turd on The bench with your kids shoes below. I'm upset Um this also has skid marks. So did I think what I think and then slide her butthole on this? No, I think what happened is what you are assuming is the skid mark is actually There it came out into her butt crack and went up her back kind of thing like it went up the back Bone I'm very upset about this I was also like I sent it in the group chat. I said who to the mud room
Starting point is 00:10:18 Wait, who cleaned it up She did she cleaned it up After it was all cleaned up. It was fine. She scrubbed it with Clorox and it just you know, it's fine But you know, it was a whole new meaning on mud room like all whole New meaning that I'm just not a I'm not okay with like if anyone ever came in my house and took a shit and then skidded their ass on my bench I'm gonna I'm gonna piss myself
Starting point is 00:10:52 I'm gonna I'm gonna be so upset if they did that like so upset bone never do this again I'm glad that you cleaned up the shit. Was it Clorox is my next question and then I was Clorox. It was very Clorox She was a trooper So you guys had a great night seems like bone. Why you still don't have cable at your house and don't have internet and do you live in the sticks like what's the deal? I do live in the sticks a little bit I mean, I have like there are other houses in the surrounding area But I live like where I live is like off the road where like other houses are like alongside the road if that makes sense
Starting point is 00:13:35 like I probably have like Probably over two acres of land in front of my house before the road where other houses are like literally alongside the road I don't understand why I can't get cable and internet based on where I'm sitting right now because the neighbor in front of me is Literally between my house and the road and he has cable and internet so Comcast came back to me and said that there would be a customer contribution fee And if I remember correctly it was something along the lines of like over six thousand dollars But then if I did the self-trench dig by myself like on my own you're gonna dig your own trench like you
Starting point is 00:14:16 Yeah, I'm gonna get I'm gonna get um this is where hot neighbor comes in I'm gonna put my rubber boots on and I'm gonna dig that'll be my workout for the week to dig a trench To I don't really understand what the trench is like what is a trench? Is it to like dig and then put the wire under and then bury it with dirt like I don't really understand This could be our simple life episode Honestly it I see it in full screen like hundreds of feet off the yacht like off the road So like we're talking like two two and a half acres worth of land before you get to my house So like is that do I have to like dig a trench from the road to there like to my house?
Starting point is 00:14:59 Like is that how this goes you aren't digging anything. Yeah, it's gonna be my workout literally, okay, whatever. Um, I Have to tell you that the messages that I got from the will shitting on me story I was just like wow, this is the contribution That I provide coffee combos listeners Lindsay Chrisley Instagram and Southern teap podcast people This is what I've provided to their life this week, and I kind of feel bad, but at the same time I'm like, you know, everybody
Starting point is 00:15:33 Worries about parasites and it's a conversation that I was having with someone this morning And I found a parasite cleanse and I'm gonna do it. So I just need you to get on board also yet No, I'm very very down to do this because Kristen has been telling me about it for forever But could you just tell me like the parasite cleanse? Is it to cleanse parasites out of your system or are you using a parasite to cleanse your system? No, it's a get them out. No one's no one's like eating a parasite Okay, so wait what I What I
Starting point is 00:16:11 thought That the parasite wrongs I thought it was like we swallow a tapeworm and then they cleanse Like they like get all the stuff out of your body and then you remove the tapeworm from your body That's what I thought was happening. We're fucking trying to get rid of them. We're trying to get rid of them We're trying to get them to exit our body not enter them. I thought that we were using a tapeworm This It's called cell core, and I don't know if anybody's ever heard of this
Starting point is 00:16:42 But if you have I'm gonna wait like a week until this episode drops and then make sure If there's any reviews on this from anybody that's done it, but it's like a multiple part thing from whatever I understand and Yeah, I just wonder also, are you gonna see the parasites come out when you take shits? I'm scared that would really gross me out like that would have really really gross me out I to this day think that I have cockroaches in my ear from Dominican Republic. Wait, what? Huh? Like whenever I told the cockroach story about Dominican Republic at that first Airbnb Like I've never I have thought that there's been like because I've heard that once you have cockroaches
Starting point is 00:17:26 They get into all the crevices and holes of your body So like I have never been the same since then because I I just have this like Intrusive thought that there are cockroaches in my that like crawled into my ear holes Yeah, you think that's the holes that they crawled in like your ears Yeah, like they think about all the other holes that you have in your body and they they crawled in your ears No, they absolutely did not you do not have cockroaches in your ears You need to go to a doctor because you think this I mean really like no I really think that that's called paranoia and I'm not okay with it
Starting point is 00:18:03 Okay, so I should go to the doctor got it noted Yeah, wait, can I tell you this thing that happened to me? Actually, this is gonna be pretty long-winded because it's kind of like a two-parter story and it's two different stories, okay? but I was on Facebook and saw this sex trafficking warning and it was a picture of This girl with like strawberry blonde hair and I was like I've seen this girl before and I keep reading and I realize that back probably
Starting point is 00:18:34 August September ish I got a text from this girl that's supposedly on this now sex trafficking thing on Facebook. What? Yeah, and she was sending me text to like my personal cell phone like I'm not even making this up She was sending me text and I was like, oh, maybe I thought it was a joke, right? So I thought maybe will was like fucking with me. So I sent a screenshot of this girl's Text to will and I'm like your girlfriend's looking for you And I thought it was like all this big joke until I ran across this on Facebook and it says sex trafficking warning Hey, there's this sex trafficking text going around in a couple of states close by
Starting point is 00:19:16 It's a picture of a redheaded girl acting like she's trying to get a hold of a guy that she went on a date with Which is exactly what happened to me Then if you reply to her being nice simply saying you have the wrong number They can track your location and find you I got a text Friday and didn't think anything about it thought It was just a joke or something She sent me a nude and then messages that I could tell where she had already pre-written out and then deleted the text I Opened Facebook just a little bit ago and seen a post about people having similar issues with the same picture The traffickers are changing their area code and using different phone numbers based off of where you lived
Starting point is 00:19:51 I don't know what to do. I turned off all of my locations on all of my apps Please do not text this number back There's also a blonde-headed girl going around doing the same thing and it's sex trafficking if you text them back They can track you like I texted back multiple times because I thought it was like either will playing a joke on me or Will was on some kind of app and this person like somehow got my phone number and accidentally text me So I thought it was all a joke and it was this girl. That's terrifying. That's absolutely terrifying. Yeah like I got this exact picture that is Is going around on Facebook?
Starting point is 00:20:26 So then it made me think did I ever tell the story on coffee combos about me almost getting abducted like adult napped? I can't remember if you did or not you'd have to like start telling the story in order for me to remember so there was this man who acted like he was like this brand specialist or whatever and he wanted he like found me on Facebook and he worked for NASCAR and He wanted to have yes, you did hear it. Yes. You did talk about this So I'm like, oh my god That happened with me with a plane like I was going to go to a private
Starting point is 00:21:05 Landing strip like in Atlanta and get on this plane But my agent actually Caught it because I didn't know that like tail numbers on planes and stuff lasted for the lifetime of the plane and the picture that he sent of the plane and the tail number like did it match up and They sent the like half of the money and stuff like that So they had intentions of me getting on that plane and if my agent hadn't caught that I would have gone to that Landing strip like what if I would have been sold into like sex trafficking or something like that's literally terrifying That's so fucking scary that reminds me of I started watching the Tinder swindler. I hated it
Starting point is 00:21:42 I also hated it. I didn't I like didn't understand what the hype was but like I get it I guess it kind of reminds me of that Wait, but people wanted us to talk about the Tinder swindler like I don't really have much To provide to that because I thought that the show was like so piss-poor. I Don't want a victim shame because obviously I have also been in a situation where I was led to believe something was more than what it was However, wait, what do you mean? Like when I think about my you know Situation with Chris or whatever like if you asked me we were in a relationship if you asked him Like I'm sure it depended on who asked him kind of thing. Yeah, so it was you know, I don't want to call it grooming
Starting point is 00:22:27 But like kind of Manipulation yeah over a period of time which led me to believe certain things and had me Hoping for certain things and things like that and so like I do understand that aspect of it But this woman on there again, I don't want a victim shame. So let's just understand that You know when she's talking about sending this man money, you know within six weeks of their, you know supposed relationship I just feel like how the fuck does that happen? But I also feel like that sometimes people get in situations where they want something so bad So it's just like a complete ignoring of all the red flags because they don't look like red flags then well
Starting point is 00:23:11 I think to to your point She did say in the beginning of the tinder swindler that she she loves loves she loves dating She loves that nervous feeling she loves all of that and so that I could yeah, I agree with that I could understand that I got my first order of my care of vitamins to the new house This week and I'm very excited because I had to take a short little period off while I was moving because I thought The interim period and like the process of moving is so weird Like when do you start getting all your packages at your new house? Starting point is 00:26:28 Use this scrub that Kale influenced me to get the influencer that was influenced and then I Lotion up do all of my skincare and then I get on the bed and get lost in tiktok For a long time and then people know that I'm in a psychotic state because then I just start sending all of these tiktoks to everyone And it's like a pattern of things that I do But I saw this one tiktok that literally made me so triggered Indiana teacher slapping. Yes. Oh my god. Did you see that? Yes. I just could not believe this like
Starting point is 00:27:08 First of all, let's take the child out of it if and I only know this from therapy Like if you're getting mad to the point that you're putting your hands on someone That's a you problem not they made me mad and I you know what I mean like and I'm speaking from experience is like I should never I should be cutting off the conversation before I even have to yell raise my voice raise my hands anything You know what I mean? So he needed help Serious help before this happened and this makes me wonder how much went on prior to him getting caught smacking this student Well, yeah, because that's the part that was caught on camera But I'm like what was going on in the classroom that
Starting point is 00:27:47 happened before all of this like So it says a former Northern Indiana teacher accused of striking a student across the face was charged Monday with battery resulting in injury. This is a 60 year old man Struck a 15 year old student in the hallway of the high school and this happened on February 5th He was arrested on March 3rd after a police report was made by the principal. It says that the community schools had asked investigators to look into the case after
Starting point is 00:28:20 The 61 year old teacher was captured on surveillance video slapping the student in the face hard enough to knock the student and the hallway into the hallway the student then fell on the floor as The teacher tried to lead the student to by the arm down the hallway. I guess I have a couple of Things that I want to say first of all, why were you? Physically like holding a student's arm walking them down a hallway Like why was that happening? If the student didn't want to cooperate, why wouldn't you have called administration to your classroom? Before it escalated to this I guess and it said that he was granted early retirement by the school board in a unanimous vote allowing
Starting point is 00:29:06 The sociology teacher to receive his full pension He had asked in January. I don't agree with that. He'd asked in January to retire at the end of the school year but submitted another request to retire immediately after like following the incident The battery charge is punishable by up to one year of jail in a fine of up to five thousand dollars According to the prosecutor his initial court appearance is set for the 10th when this episode airs So I'm sure we'll have updates on it But I just want to say that if this happened to my child um, I
Starting point is 00:29:45 Don't even know what I would do honestly. I'd be suing the school suing the teacher. I Don't believe in my personal opinion that he should have been able to receive his full pension I just don't agree with that. Well, I'm like, you know in any other job I'm just thinking like if you do something like this that affects like your Employment, which I mean it definitely did affect his his employment, but Why was he granted his full pension? After this incident and like I want to know more like what was going on that caused this
Starting point is 00:30:22 Altercation, I don't know if you could explain your way out of it. I don't know that any explanation would be Would suffice, you know what I mean? And I kind of don't like I feel like it's sometimes, you know when companies um The first thing that comes to my mind is cops like cops cover for each other. I don't know like that's what we hear That's what people think. I believe that's what I know Um, I kind of feel like the school giving like offering him early retirement and his full pension is like his His workplace having his back and I just don't agree with that. I can't stand I can't stand behind that I feel like that's just like they shouldn't have maybe announced that whether he was getting his full pension or not
Starting point is 00:31:03 Uh, probably just you know poor timing on that Before we get into more Duggar stuff I did want to say that Heather and I watched the episode of Teen Mom right before we recorded Mm-hmm. Did you watch it? I didn't because I don't have cable I only have internet at my office I don't have like actual cable and so I just you know what I mean like I have like the streaming services on my Like smart TV, but I don't have cable so oh well I might get shut down in a couple of minutes when I start talking, but I'm not sure if I will or not
Starting point is 00:31:40 You and Javi are super cute whenever you guys co-parent Lincoln at football. I love you as a team mom Definitely Some outside of co-parenting chemistry going on there with you and Javi. So I just wanted to like say that Um, I feel like there's some stale storylines on the show outside of yours I think the storyline with Jade They talked about her. What's her storyline for the entire episode?

Starting point is 00:36:34 December 14th 2015 TLC aired the first episode of a three-part series of specials titled Jill and Jessa Counting on this feature Jill and Jessa and Many of the other Duggar siblings as they tried to move on from the scandals and cancellation of their family show after a decade of being on air I Didn't want to just go ahead and say something about that. Mm-hmm. I am really glad that TLC gave the opportunity for this Because I don't necessarily think it's fair for all of them to lose a platform due to one person's actions I was about to say the same. I was gonna say something very similar to that. I'm glad that they were given a voice
Starting point is 00:37:16 I didn't I can't say that I watched it I didn't watch it so I don't know what really what the context is or if they continue to basically defend their brother or what this Looks like for them if they touched on it if they didn't touch on it But I also wanted to say that I can imagine the shock that the family felt not just Josh But like the entire family probably felt You know a shock because being on TV for ten years and having that income for ten years and all the endorsements and things like that That come with it all suddenly come to an end had to have been a very
Starting point is 00:37:50 Hard time for them and I will say just from my experience that I live well below my means And so I think some people don't do that. And so the shock of me losing something like hypothetically Leaving Chris Lee knows best and forgoing income It would look different for you very different because I live below my means anyway So but with that being said, I think that that's a great point that this would be hugely financially I'm setting yeah for sure So during the first episode Jess and Jill said that they felt betrayed by Josh for allowing
Starting point is 00:38:33 Them to defend him when he had another skeleton in his closet Jill shared Derek which is her husband and said that they talked about how earlier in the year when Jess and she were talking with Megan Kelly they wanted to say the truth and she felt like that they did that and looking back She still would have done that and she still would have said the truth of what happened But knowing what Josh was hiding She felt like it wasn't right for him to let them speak their words without having the full knowledge of actually what he was hiding So so this kind of gives me a new perspective on you know, how we felt and what we discussed about them defending him
Starting point is 00:39:15 before You know, if they didn't know the full scenario I think I would say for the most part might be like Maybe more siblings would because they thought okay, this isn't I don't know like I don't want to say something out of turn or like wrong But like I guess I could understand why they defended him better now Because they didn't know the full scope of what was going on when I think it's You know when you speak about something and you don't have all of the facts and everything there that it could very much change How you feel after finding out everything. Yeah, I think that's fair. Yes, so December 21st
Starting point is 00:39:56 2015 second episode airs and Anna Duggar spoke out about the scandals saying that even though she knew about Josh's past indiscretions It still wasn't easy reading through it and having to almost relive what he had done And I think only from I can't even and would not even try to Relate to this But I think any person that's ever been on reality TV has felt a sense of they've gone through something gone through it on the show and then had to relive it after it airs and so in that
Starting point is 00:40:32 Aspect I can relate to that I agree and I also said that Josh's sisters had been a source of comfort through everything and I could also understand Why she would go to them for comfort because she also is a victim of Josh So something that's here is a very good point and I don't know if it was you that type this or Kristen There's a comment. How do you look at your husband's victims and seek comfort from them while staying with their abuser like I? Could not imagine That scenario I also view Anna as a victim of Josh and so for that I
Starting point is 00:41:18 Feel like they are all victims banding together But then also you have the aspect of it is very true that she is staying with their abuser But outside of that We don't know what is Fundamentally going on within this family dynamic that we don't have access to so you know, this is true It's easy to say. Oh, well, I would leave him. I would do this I would do that we don't have enough information to be able to make those type of statements really so When Anna was asked about her current life
Starting point is 00:41:54 She said that she and her children were living with Josh's parents while Josh was at this Christian recovery program Which claims was his choice? I'm just gonna go out on a limb and say that's bullshit. It was not his choice It was a requirement because he at that point had no other choice from family PR standpoint to get help because the public's watching you agreed I also agree with that and Personally for me, I'm not Well one why couldn't she stay on her own?
Starting point is 00:42:32 Do they live too far or something or did she not work was he like the provider as well? Because I don't know that I would stay like I don't know that I would uproot my family and go stay with other people Well, again, we don't know what the actual situation was to me I'm just gonna speculate and say I'm wondering if Jim Bob and Michelle Somehow controlling narrative. Yeah conned her into doing this. I agree. It was easier to have her under their thumb and under their roof They could control it a little bit more. That is completely hypothetical. That's just my opinion could be totally wrong She did add that she would not be leaving Josh over these scandals
Starting point is 00:43:17 How do we feel? I think that is Very sad. I feel like it there is a high level of brainwashing here because if I One we know that she knew about some of them prior to marrying him. Yep And That's one thing but then when you also find out that you haven't then married him and you find out even more and he's still Continuing these things There has to be some level of brainwashing here because I can't see like an a level-headed
Starting point is 00:43:50 Rational stable person Staying with someone through this even though it's like in their religion or their beliefs Like I just can't this goes far beyond, you know through Thick and thin through sickness and in health through better or worse like this is far beyond that far far beyond that but again, I think it does go back to the brainwashing and The level of control that Religion plays in this scenario and I'm just I'm I'm sorry like if
Starting point is 00:44:24 This was a situation that I was in. Yes. Do I love God? Absolutely But am I gonna put myself in a situation to remain in this? No, like that is not healthy There's a level of so in my opinion there are it's already like brainwashed brainwashed cult like Type of a hypocritical situation and then on top of that you're putting on reality TV press You know public figures, you know what I mean? So there's like an added Situation I just I can't I can't imagine myself saying by anyone's side who has Committed these acts same so we have actually officially retired from 2015 which is really nice and we have made it to January third 23rd
Starting point is 00:45:15 2016 Anna Duggar Published the following statement on the Duggar family website and do we also find it weird that there's like an entire family website where like These statements are being published. Like do we do we feel like that's like a little controlling that that is a little weird? Yeah, I think that's a little weird. It's very Like controlled calculated kind of in my opinion So the statement reads as follows many have asked how I'm doing so many have asked that It's actually humbling and touching 2015 was the most difficult year of my life Yet amazingly I found out I found that in my own life crisis. God has drawn near to me
Starting point is 00:45:55 He's near to the broken-hearted Psalms 34 18, which is one of my favorite Bible verses And my faith has been more precious to me than ever just recently. I visited Josh It was an important step on a long difficult road I want to thank all of you for your prayers and your messages of hope I can never express how your kindness and prayers have brought encouragement when I needed it most outpacing the grief and discouragement Every turn I trust that God will continue to show his love and tenderness towards us and bring beauty from the ashes Somehow as only he can do please continue to pray for me Josh and our children So after hearing that statement because I had never read it before
Starting point is 00:46:37 Or heard it before try to follow the bouncing ball here because I'm about to make a connection from therapy I just got done saying like I think that this was like brainwash and things like that and But part of me now after hearing that feels like she is also a victim. Yeah, I've always like she's a victim of The cult the religion. She's a victim of the family. She's a victim of Josh and then she You know, maybe what she needs is Encouragement and prayers and love for it to leave him not to stay with him agreed 100% on Everything that you just said that's where we're gonna end on Duggar stuff today because we have a couple of listener
Starting point is 00:47:25 Questions that I wouldn't get into before we go Um, the first one is definitely like more kale-esque, but it's funny because I feel like I used to be the plant lady and now Kale is a plant lady. I have exceeded plant lady. I am plant goddess My house, you know what I'm when I get home tonight. I'm gonna count the plants so that but that by the time this episode airs I can have a number of plants that I have and this is very funny that you brought up the plants because I Kristen got me a gift card for the sale. I wish this was an ad. So the sale if you're listening, please Just pay attention to me
Starting point is 00:48:03 Sent me a gift card for the sale and I got some new planters and some new plants and I couldn't tell you what number I'm at I'm definitely well over the 20s. Maybe even into the 30s and I was planting Potting my new plants into their new planters last night at like 10 p.m. And it was just like I just kept thinking to myself like when did this Happen because I do remember that the times that I lived with my mom as a child My mom had my mom had plants. She did. She was a plant lady. Yes, and like she did take pretty good care Like but I don't ever remembering. I don't remember it ever being like weird or like. Oh, my mom's a plant lady It was just like my mom had plans And like she had spider plants and she had these kind of plants and she like took care of them
Starting point is 00:48:47 But like I never thought anything of it But I also just never had a green thumb and then one day I was just like I think it was really after the conversation that you and I had about your fiddle fig and your ferns Yeah, I was like, let me give this a whirl and I love my plant so much like I get so upset because If a plant dies or something like my friend Sada had sent gifted me a Montserrat plant And I was so excited about it because I didn't have one but I think just it being I think just it being shipped in the mail and I don't know if I just like didn't plan it correctly, but it just didn't make it
Starting point is 00:49:26 That was truly devastating passed away. Yes. And then when Kristen bought me this gift card for the sill I bought this like a type of palm species of a plant and You know, I was very excited about it. It's very big It's probably one of my bigger plants that I have It was very different than all the rest and it's like literally almost dead and I just this one I'm not taking the blame for because there's no way that I killed this plant Like when I tell you like I love my plant so much the first one like the monstera. I feel like was maybe the
Starting point is 00:49:56 Exposing the roots when I The way it was shipped like I don't think that it I don't think it was shipped properly to be honest Because it didn't last very long at all, but this palm one came pretty much dead and then it came back But then I have other plants that are literally thriving Like I have a Chinese money plant. I have my snake plants. I have I have a ton of plants like I have so many and I will post pictures of them that are thriving They're doing very well. I mean, I don't have problems with them. So I'm not really sure about this like palm one So the sill if you're listening send tips
Starting point is 00:50:30 But yeah, if you guys have any questions, I could do like a plant Q&A well, I love that I also love that my Passed away fiddle fig encouraged you to become a plant lady um, do y'all remember that It calls me to have like gnats in my house. I think it was like last summer or something and I didn't know where they were coming from and it was gnats like all in the roots of my fiddle fig like it was
Starting point is 00:50:59 Terrible disaster. I had to buy this thing at target plug it in Had a little light on it. It attracted all of the gnats It was like so bad. Then I put this bitch on the porch She decided she was going to come back alive. She was like very dead She was going to come back alive and I I literally did nothing to her and then She officially passed away during the same time that my divorce happened and my marriage passed away Um, so, you know, it was it was good. I don't have any plants at this new house But I did want to say that it's something that will always took care of like outside plants
Starting point is 00:51:38 Any type of plants really like we'll always did it. So this is going to be my first planting season That I'm doing everything on my own So anyone that has any tips and tricks or like what I need to purchase and what's like easy to keep alive would be Greatly appreciated and since you have become the plant lady kill I want you to tell me what plants I should get for my house that I will not kill Um, definitely a snake plant. It's an air purifier and they're super easy
Starting point is 00:52:07 Um, they literally take zero to no effort Um, also a zizi plant is pretty easy to care for and my friend sada who sent me the most the monstera She also sent me a really cool one. Um, when I moved as like a housewarming and it's like half black and half green It's really really cool. Um, I just repotted her last night. So I'll post a picture. So the zizi plants are super easy Um, you they take minimal watering. They're really cool to look at they thrive in like tons of various conditions Um, and then the snake plant, which is an air purifier. They're good for like a baby's room or like a nursery Definitely check those out. Actually, I'm gonna send you a snake plant because I feel like if you kill a snake plant, which is
Starting point is 00:52:47 You just shouldn't have plants. Okay. So we'll test out on the snake plant I'll keep you guys updated kales going to do A q&a on tips and tricks on how to take care of these plants. Um, and I'm also going to tune into that Um Outside of that, I think that's enough on the plants Uh, next person wants to know about our favorite stage of parenting so far and why I feel like this is a very loaded question And then the least favorite and why and any tips for parents in general um
Starting point is 00:53:19 Favorite stage and parenting. Um, my favorite age probably was four I love four four is so fun. It's so funny I have to admit here and I think I've said it before I am not a super fan of like Like obviously love my kids at all stages But I think the hardest time is the first year because the sleep The schedules when they start crawling they get into everything like that's probably my least favorite like I really
Starting point is 00:53:48 Loved four. I'm like should I just Like have kids like people just give me their kids when they turn four and I'll give them back when they're five Um, I definitely disagree with terrible twos. I think it's terrible threes I loved the newborn phase because they just like smell so sweet and they really just don't do that much They just like And sleep sleep. Yeah, no the newborn is good But like I think after that like newborn this wears off and they start like getting into everything and you can't You know what I mean? Like that is really difficult, especially with multiples
Starting point is 00:54:25 Yeah, I don't know anything about the multiple life. Um But then my least favorite age probably Was three and I I think that was like a big tantrum phase For jackson and really like him developing like he had a personality before then but it was like really like a finding yourself and like your personality and Uh, we did a lot of of self reflections and timeouts with jesus during that time We had timeouts with jesus like where you sit with god and like you you pray over the ugly things that you do
Starting point is 00:55:04 Um, and jackson used to say I don't want to sit with jesus and i'm like but you need to like you definitely need to and then Tips or like parents in general I don't know how to answer that because I feel like you just parent the best way that you know how in the Yeah, I agree like I think One one thing that I will say about parenting for anyone who's a new parent Is just parenting with understanding is so I know it sounds cliche now because you know Tiktok and you know things like that but the more the better
Starting point is 00:55:39 What is the saying when you know better you do better? And I think when you really get down on your child's level and try to help them to understand In like a real way versus yelling and screaming or like hitting your kids is not going to help them learn the lesson Yeah, but like I am so proud of the way that lux when lux is upset about something He will tell me I'm sad and he'll tell me well you did this and I'm sad or you know, you did this and I'm mad like he truly With parenting with understanding has been able to like articulate what he is feeling and why he feels that way and he's only four So when he does that I know this sounds so fucking crazy lindsay like
Starting point is 00:56:21 I like I feel proud when he does that like I feel like even though he might be in the middle of a tantrum Yeah, he's like I'm mad or like you made me mad He is so articulate about how he feels and I am every single time I'm like in my head. I'm like, yes Thank you like thank you and like I'm proud of you. I don't say that to him because that's like, you know I tell him afterwards. I'm like, I'm proud of you for using your big boy words I'm proud of you for telling me how you feel um And he does it in like a productive way where when you're helping your kids understand how they feel because sometimes they
Starting point is 00:56:50 Don't understand what they're feeling So if I take the time to get on their level and you're not screaming at them You're not hitting hitting them or anything like that It's like They're gonna respond a little bit better and they're gonna react like I let lux cry if he wants to throw a tantrum You can throw a tantrum you can be mad you can be upset, but you're not gonna say Oh, I hate I hate you or I hate my brothers or you know things like that. It's just like I'm mad and this is why so
Starting point is 00:57:14 I love that and actually I didn't see any of those things In Jackson until we moved in to this house and he very much can articulate his feelings as well which is really nice because It's him understanding His own feelings and then being able to let you know like this. I'm not mad. I'm sad or like, you know I'm I'm upset because my friend did this and being able to have those truly honest conversations and letting them sit in their feelings That is definitely great advice Um, actually
Starting point is 00:57:48 You had said that Like hitting something into your kids or whatever else you had said um I talked about that on the southern tea and about how I don't believe in spanking And uh, I don't really understand like the thought process Behind it and why people Do it. I don't know if it's like an angry thing or if they think that it's actually going to give them some type of
Starting point is 00:58:19 result, but I think like over time spanking your kids is has such a negative horrible impact on them like what are what is that teaching them that They do something that you don't like so then you hit them. So then in turn, they're gonna turn around and do The same someone else Yeah, I think I think it's a combination of both I think it's one like instilling a fear if I hit them then they won't do this behavior because they're afraid of getting hit
Starting point is 00:58:49 But it doesn't actually fix the problem, right? It in turn then creates more problems I think on the other hand, I I do think it's a little bit of an angry thing like some, you know parents just lose their shit um And it comes out it gets taken out on the kids because if you're having a bad day They do something, you know that they shouldn't have done and your first reaction is to hit them. That's that's a problem so I think it's a combination of things And I do I do wonder about people especially like our age
Starting point is 00:59:18 because you know, my mom hit me growing up and um I I think a lot of people can relate to that. I think a lot of people got like Whippings or springs or whatever and some people will say oh, I turned out okay Um, I do want to challenge that a little bit because do we know that for sure? Like do we know that you haven't had trauma because of it? Do we know? You know what I mean? Did you well and I would love to know I'm not trying to get anybody in trouble by asking this but I would love to know from listeners if it is a method that you use in
Starting point is 00:59:50 Your rendering like is spanking something that you Go to because it's just something that I have Never gone to I would never feel comfortable doing that Um and Yeah, I think that it probably was pretty common practice whenever we were growing up that you know, that's just like how parents Parented and I do think sometimes that people don't want to think for themselves. So they Do things that their parents did because their parents did them and don't even really realize
Starting point is 01:00:22 What they're doing is like negatively impactful if that makes sense you know what that is so crazy that you just said that because Isaac and I just had a conversation about that. It was not related to spanking or um, like whoopings or anything like that But that is so crazy that you just said that like they do what their parents did So this is kind of about religion. So the episode kind of comes full circle with like dugger stuff and then like the abuse Not abuse. I don't want to call it abuse Spankings and whoopings and stuff. So The other day
Starting point is 01:00:52 Lux asked me he saw this big cloud in the sky and he asked me is that bear and I was like Yeah, if that's if you want that to be bear, that's bear and he's like, oh, he's following us and I was like, yeah So then the next time when we're all in the car because that first time was just me and lux The next time it was me Lincoln and lux and he's like, um Is that bear in the sky? Like are we are we gonna all go in the sky? and Isaac turns around and he's like, yeah, if that's what you believe and I was like, okay I was like, so I kind of love that because yeah, I looked at Isaac and I just was like
Starting point is 01:01:25 I'm so proud of you and he goes for what and I was like Because you're not going off of whatever I teach you you're understanding that there are other acceptable ways to Do things and and believe in different things other than what your parents teach you You don't have to do exactly what your parents believe like you don't have to believe in You don't have to be um Jewish if you're not Jewish is a bad example You don't have to be believe be a Buddhist if you know just because your parents are a Buddhist Or you don't have to be a Christian because your parents are a Christian like you're allowed to challenge what your parents believe
Starting point is 01:01:55 You're allowed to you know, if maybe your parents are a Methodist and you're deciding Oh, I want to be Jewish. You know what I mean? Like so you want to convert like I just I loved that Isaac I was so proud like I had such a moment of like being a proud mom because I was like you get it Like there are other Things that you can do and believe in than what I have done and what your dad has done And you know what people who are listening to this we're probably gonna get called millennials um I don't know what people will say but
Starting point is 01:02:22 But I also 100% agree with that I have a very Montessori approach when it comes to raising Jackson whether that be educational parenting um Whatever there's more ways to get to one plus one equals two And I'm okay with it. And I think if more people did that there would be more understanding in the world and um I definitely challenge
Starting point is 01:02:48 Parents to think outside of the box because it's okay. It might be a little bit scary, but it's okay. I agree. I wholeheartedly agree with that Okay, let's talk about Kiwi co. Um, I love Kiwi co I'm a big proponent for Kiwi co And I have four kids that I need to stay busy at all times So this is big popular in my house Kiwi co delivers monthly science and art projects that celebrate a child's natural curiosity and sparks of love and lifelong learning discover subscription lines for kids of all ages Ranging from infants and preschoolers all the way to teens grown-ups are welcome to join in on the fun, too I actually have a lot of fun doing this with Jackson
Starting point is 01:03:29 Kiwi co delivers enriching hands-on experiences that'll spark curiosity and inspire creativity kids can discover the engineering and mechanics behind everyday projects the science and chemistry of cooking Geography and culture from new cultures and brand new art and design techniques all through seriously fun hands-on projects Your kids are going to be just as excited to get these products in the mail and the day the box arrives Will literally be the best day of the month. They will not believe what they can build and accomplish with Kiwi co I've talked about the crates that we've done for each of the kids at my house And they really do love them and they'll ask me like hey when is our next one coming?
Starting point is 01:04:10 So as a parent it can truly be hard to find creative ways to keep your kids busy and challenged and this is really it That's my most favorite part about it and for what it's worth my favorite ones are the geography and culture ones And Jackson absolutely loves it So if you guys are interested you can step into spring and celebrate the season of discovery with a kiwi co subscription Get 30 off your first month plus free shipping on any crate line with code coffee at kiwico.com That's 30 off your first month at kiwico.com promo code coffee Hey everyone, you might remember me from Teen Mom 2 but my 15 minutes is almost up So i'm back with another podcast

Okay. You want me to read it? Yeah, okay. I haven't read it. I also haven't read it Um, I'm not allowed to read them prior to Well, I think it's a good thing. Um, yeah, for sure. We could get just like react. Okay. So let me scroll I'm gonna kill christen if this is nasty or i'm gonna i'm gonna harass her
Starting point is 01:05:34 I like to say harass because I you know how the trolls just like take it and run you give them an inch and they're like Oh, you know lindsay kill said they want to kill somebody and it's like no, it's just a fucking joke It's a game wait before you get into this i have to tell you about the kill comment So there was this snake video that I posted on my instagram story And it was this man had attached with like fishing line a fake snake to his wife's purse And when she went to pick it up Then it was like following her, you know, and she was like beating it with her high heel and I Put it on my story because it was so funny
Starting point is 01:06:08 And I was like I would kill someone if they did this to me like oh my god And I got shadow banned for that because I said I would kill someone if they did this to me Like no, like I'm legitimately not gonna kill someone like instagram get a personality like not get a personality I you know, it's crazy because I feel like um That used to be such like a casual phrase like it was never like there was never any weight to it like you just never Nobody ever took that seriously like oh my god. I'm gonna kill you like You say it when you're joking and things like that
Starting point is 01:06:40 Um, but now I feel like you have to be very very careful about everything that we say and do and so that's one of them That I'm like, I don't know if we should say that thanks instagram. Yeah Um, okay, so so read this okay This is a story from one of our listeners quote one time when I was getting a wax My hair was a little longer than normal and the girl got the wax stuck in my kitty hair She kept adding more wax to try to pull it out and it was completely stuck not only to my hair But also my skin she put baby powder on it not sure if that's supposed to work But surprise it didn't my wax usually takes about 20 minutes and after about an hour
Starting point is 01:07:18 Another person who worked there came in to check what was happening She basically yelled at the girl and then had to pick the wax out of my hair piece by piece with fucking tweezers I know it wasn't my fault, but I was so embarrassed having two women picking at my kitty with tweezers. Obviously my wax was free I would have died listen to me. I Don't even like having my eyebrows tweezed like you know how if you get them waxed or threaded Sometimes they'll go through with like the tweezers to get any like single strands that they miss I will literally forego that do not wax do not tweeze me under any circumstances. I hate being tweezed
Starting point is 01:07:54 I don't know fuck no and i'm not tweezing those thick ass deep ass kitty hairs like no fucking way wait Wait, so you've never had your cat wax and then like at the end they're like, okay Let me grab these couple with tweezers. Yeah, and I tell them no i'm like i'm not sitting through tweez Like I just let them like hang out. I'll fucking shave them. I don't care. Do not tweeze my cat. No, don't you're Welcome to the kitty gang. No, I'm gonna tweeze it and like honestly this is tmi but uh Yeah, even after I get waxed like sometimes I'll take a shower and if there's like anything I'll tweeze it Like that's normal. No, I feel like people do that. No, I've seen people tweeze like their um like upper lip hairs and things like that
Starting point is 01:08:39 No, fucking way. You could I know you couldn't pay me to wax my upper lip hairs Wait, what are my nose hairs like I huh like, you know, like upper lip hairs. Yeah, like your mustache Yeah, like sometimes just like you have one ones. No, I I don't have one I don't have one But like if someone I know people who like will have like a longer like not like a mustache But like a like blonde like peach buzz and it'll be like a little bit longer and they'll they'll tweeze it And I'm like fuck. No, like you could not pay me to do that. Um
Starting point is 01:09:15 Does everyone on this podcast derma plane because I do like all the time. Do you not like do it to your face yourself do what derma plane? No, I don't do that. Wait, huh? Is it yeah, am I like teaching you something right now? No, I know what it is, but like I don't do it because Why? Well, when it grows back, does it grow back like rough and stud stubbly? It's called vellus. I think it's I think it's pronounced vellus hair and it can't grow back Stubbly like it grows back the exact same. It's literally called like vellus hair
Starting point is 01:09:52 Um, scientifically like it can't change in texture and I do this all the time Like it makes your makeup go on so smooth That I've heard so that I've heard and that would be a reason that I would try it But like what happens so like, you know how if you shave your legs or your cat or your arm heads or something And your hair grows back like mine comes back. So it's starting to come back the next day already So that like rough feeling it does it not that doesn't ever happen on your face So like what is the in between between the time that you derma plane or the in the time that you need to derma plane again? What is that like interim?
Starting point is 01:10:28 I mean, I don't know. I think it just depends on the person and like their hair growth but I do it like once a month at least and Oh, that's not bad Skincare like penetrate so much better that word penetrates weird Um, that's it just feels like a very sexually charged word penetrate like when I think of penetrate Although I know it's like interchangeable. It feels very like sexual Well, my skincare, I feel like it penetrates better into my skin Um, my makeup goes on so much smoother and now I feel like when I see you in Dallas
Starting point is 01:11:02 If you have not derma plane, I'm gonna derma plane you in your sleep. Okay. Um, I think I'm okay with it If the maintenance is like once a month. Okay, fine. Okay. So we're gonna do it whenever we're in Dallas Actually, a lot of people have a bunch of questions about Dallas. I don't know if we talked about it on here before Or how people know about it. I think maybe we briefly mentioned being together in Dallas this month. Um People are confused. They're like, are you guys doing a meet-and-greet? Um, Kristen's probably gonna shut me off in about 0.2 seconds whenever I say this What if Kale and I had a blank
Starting point is 01:11:37 part in our schedule hypothetically and We did something on the fly like hey, we're gonna be at Starbucks at second street at At whatever time like see if we see you and where they're like quick like 15 minutes. Um For like our Dallas listeners Kristen definitely is going to like would that be enough time for them to get there? Is she gonna shut us off? We should actually I she's gonna shut me down next. Um, what I'm about to say is Kristen just told me to shut the fuck up. Um, I what I was gonna say is to Lindsay's point
Starting point is 01:12:14 How cool would it be if at one of our locations that we're taking pictures at like for content? Like there were listeners there that we took pictures with and posted with Like at like showing our support like we feature them on the instagram Yeah, what if we did that just like for that like literally would have to be like a 15 minute window because when Kristen books our work trips When I tell you that they are back to back like we don't stop working when we get together for a work trip because we only see each Other four or five times a year. So um, we would it would literally have to be like a one shot group photo in 15 minutes kind of thing that would be really cool Yeah, so we're gonna try to figure out the logistics on that Kristen's probably gonna shut us down. So, uh, we'll let you guys know
Starting point is 01:12:59 and with all of that being said, um, that was lots of bullshit today and loved uh Joining to be a part of this but we're out of time. So if you guys have not subscribed to our show Make sure you do that and make sure you're following on us on at coffee combos podcast on instagram Because all this information that we just said likely will be posted on the instagram and I hope that you guys all have a fantastic week Including kaelin lowery the turd that is on her mudroom um
