Hey guys, welcome to Coffee Combos. I am back from Europe and excited to catch up with
Lindsay. How are you?
I'm good. I have just been kind of busy doing nothing, which has been nice. I had planned
to take a social hiatus and kind of did it in a sense, but not fully. But I've pretty
much been mentally checked out for like a week. So, oh good. It's been nice going to
the pool a lot, playing outside a lot, working out a lot, and just cooking a lot.
Good. I saw when you sent me the, you had made the Hello Fresh. I was so excited for
you because that's our favorite meal. How did it come out?
It came out good the second time. It came out better than the first time that I made
it. And I think it was just because I did something weird with the cauliflower the first
time. I don't know if I like, did it make it small enough or something, but I made it
like a lot smaller pieces the second time I made it. And it was so good. We'll have to
get you guys the recipe for it because it really is like an all-around favorite in my
house.
And same for mine. So, can I just tell you about my trip to Europe?
Yes. I want to know everything.
I ended up going by myself because I earned the trip through Sensi, which is a direct
sales company that I work for. And, you know, I didn't want to, I didn't want to pass up
all the opportunity. And so I went and I have to say it was very lonely. I did struggle
a little bit. However, on day three, I think, so I was there, I was in Europe from the first
to the 10th while the kids were with their dads. And I think it was day three. I met
two girls that were so sweet. One of them is a nanny in Saudi Arabia and the other one,
they're both from Maine. They were friends. And then the other girl, she also sells Sensi
and she's from Maine. So they kind of like took me under their wing for a couple days
and like, I got to hang out with them and like not be alone. And they took really cool
pictures of me. We just had a really good time. So I was so happy that I met them. We
got to see, I went to Spain to Mallorca. I explored all of Mallorca by myself. The taxi
driver kind of just like took me around. And he didn't, he did try to get good pictures
of me. He tried really hard, but I don't know. I got to see like where the matadors used
to do like the bull thing, which I'm so glad they ended. Do you know what I'm talking about?
What is it called? It's like a matador. I don't know. I want to say it's like bullfighting,
but the bulls don't fight. It's like they wear red and they like antagonize the bull
and then they basically kill the bull. It's super cruel. Oh my gosh, that's terrible.
Yeah, it's so cruel. But they ended it, but I did still go look at like where they used
to have those, um, which was, I mean, it was cool to like see it. And I, I know it's like
Spanish culture. It was, you know, a tradition that they did. So I was still, it was still
cool to go look at. Um, then I went to Rome, Florence, Pisa. I saw the Leaning Tower of
Pisa, which was super cool. And I like took the, the cliche picture of me trying to hold
it up. So that was kind of like pushing it back up. Um, and I ate pizza walking down
the streets of Rome and I basically was Italian, you know, like I'm Italian now.
Well, I am so glad that you are so cultured, but I have to tell you, I don't think I can
make it in Europe. I really don't. Like I think I would die of being homesick. Really?
Yeah. No, like when I went to New York, this is no lie. I was homesick when I woke up.
Like the first day I was there, I was homesick. Like I homesick or you get like, like anxiety
because you're not home to like do your routines or both. I think it's like a combination of
both. Like I'm actually physically sick and like want to be at my house. And once I get
home and I know that's what it is because once I get home, I'm fine. But a lot of it
too is like the anxiety of the change, I think, and not being like in my kitchen whenever
I wake up and not being in my bed and not being able to take a shower in my shower.
It's just all the combinations of the above and then go into a place that has like different
outlets and like different kind of food and me not being able to understand. I mean, I
don't know. I just, I don't think I could survive. I really don't.
I, you know what? I was actually really surprised and pleasantly surprised. Really? I mean,
I think I didn't really struggle, struggle with the language barrier just because when
I was in Spain, you know, I know enough Spanish to get by. And then they also know so much
English and then same in Italy and France. Like I didn't really have, I think France
was the hardest country that I was in that was with the language barrier. But I was
still enough. They spoke enough English where I didn't have to struggle really.
And I just knew the food was good. I'm just not really like a backpack explorer type
girl. You know what I mean? Like, yeah, yeah, you like like the islands and pampering and
stuff. I feel like, yeah, like I'm looking into Aruba and the Bahamas right now.
Well I went to the Bahamas. That was a good time.
I love the Bahamas. Yeah. Okay. Now let's take a break and talk to you guys about one
of my personal favorite partners, Scentbird. I hate being married to one sent forever and
wasting money on a big bottle that sits on the shelf forever, which I have done over
and over and over again until I found out about Scentbird is totally wasteful. And this
is just such a better option with Scentbird's luxury fragrance subscription service. Every
month you can choose a new fragrance from over 450 designer brands. I just got the new
Elizabeth and James perfume. It might not be a new one, but it's a new one to me. And
I absolutely love it. It would be a perfume that I would actually buy a bottle of and
use on a daily basis. It's just a really good daily wearing perfume. Sometimes I get a little
tired of perfumes that come off like a little too strong or the sense like too sweet or
sometimes it's too floral. I think I found the perfect one for me. So I'm super excited
about that. So the best part for me is the sleep travel
sprays because you know how much I'm flying around and traveling and the travel sprays
last up to 30 days and I can take them with me wherever, whenever. So right now I have
Clinique Happy, which I know is an older perfume, but just like you said, it's new to me and
I get to, you know, kind of try out new ones, old ones and see what I like. And that's why
I use Scentbird.com. So visit Scentbird.com slash coffee and use our code coffee for 50%
off. That's 750 for your first month plus free shipping. Go to Scentbird.com S-C-E-N-T
bird.com slash coffee and use our code coffee for 50% off your first month. Data perfume
before you have to commit to it forever. Okay, so let's go back to the show. So can I tell
you the things that I tried while I was in Europe?
Kayle, what you tried, I saw some of this stuff and I remember sending you a message
and said three words, not remotely interested. Like...
Okay, but in my defense, so I did try chicken liver when I was in Rome, but I told you I
met the two girls, their names are Danny and Andy. And they, so they're very like, they'll
eat anything and they're like, they like love S-Cargo and they love seafood and they love
all the weird things. And so like, fuck yeah, I was in Europe for the first time, I had
to try some of this stuff. So I didn't even know I was eating chicken liver. Like she
told, Andy told me that it was chicken, so she didn't lie. And she's like, here, I'll
spread it on a piece of bread for you. And I was like, a little grossed out because it
did look like cat food, but she said it was chicken. So I was like, okay, this is kind
of like, sometimes babies eat pureed meat. So like, maybe I'll try it. And so I did.
And after I swallowed it, she was like, was it good? And I was like, yeah, it wasn't bad.
She's like, well, that's chicken liver. So in my defense, it's not like I went into it
knowing it was chicken liver. Will I ever eat it again? Definitely not.
So wait, it's like how we have a liver, it's like the chicken one.
Yes, it's a chicken's liver.
No, no. If I even thought that I had to eat something like that, I would, I really would
fear honestly, if I had to go to Europe, that I would starve to death.
No, they have pizza and pasta and they have all the things like I did try like homemade
pasta, which was so good. But they put caviar on things. And you would think like caviar
so fish eggs, you wouldn't think for them to be crunchy, right? But I tried caviar and
it's literally like pop rocks in your mouth. It's absolutely disgusting and disturbing.
Well, again, not interested in caviar, not interested in any.
I picture you as like a super fancy food eater and I feel like you would eat as cargo and
caviar.
No, I mean, and actually you're not the first person that's told me that. But I am
probably like the most bland person when it comes to eating, like I have a very bland
taste palette. I don't like a lot of seafood, like there are certain fish that I'll eat,
but I don't really like a lot of seafood. I don't like a lot of like foreign food. I
like American food and so have you tried an oyster before?
Have I tried what?
An oyster.
An oyster? Yes, it's like snot.
I tried one. It's like a lugi.
Yeah, it's like snot going down your throat and it's literally disgusting.
Horrible. So I tried that and lobster. Lobster was gross to me also and I tried beef, carpaccio,
beef carpaccio, which is basically like uncooked slices of meat and that was equally disgusting
to me, but I tried it. And so that was the main thing here is like, I'm going to try
anything once, you know?
Well, if this puts anything into perspective, when Jackson and I went to Hawaii, we were
filming Christina's Best at the time, and we're staying at the Four Seasons, Super
Nice Hotel in Maui, and I got afraid, like I knew we were still going to be in the U.S.,
but I got afraid about the food. I'm just like really weird about that.
So I went to the grocery store and bought like almost a whole suitcase worth of like
Easy Mac and like snacks and then was like researching. I wonder if they'll have a microwave
and like we're still in the U.S., but I didn't know, okay, they can have a microwave where
I can cook this. Like, are we going to starve?
They're not uncivilized, Lindsay.
I didn't know and I was like, oh my God, this is just going to be terrible. Like, I don't
know. I just get so much anxiety and I just, I don't know. I just like normalcy, I guess.
So did you have to finish, did you finish eating all the mac and cheese at Easy Mac
or did you eat some food from Hawaii?
No, we actually did. I ate one meal in Hawaii outside of what I brought, one meal.
Oh my God, you're insane. I loved the food in Hawaii. I tried all their things there
too. They have like a cool macaroni salad that I loved. That's like traditional out
there and it's just so good.
You're just like so much more fun than me and like an adventurer and like you'll go out
on a limb and do stuff and that's just not me. Like I'm kind of boring and just setting
my ways. I'm kind of like an old lady in a sense.
Me too, but just in different ways.
All right, y'all. I know that we have talked about Brooklyn and before, but it's time to
take a break to talk about the most beautiful, comfortable, home essential and that is Brooklyn
and Cheats. Since I have started using Brooklyn and I just feel so good when I go to bed.
Like I get really excited to go to bed and I feel kind of like I'm at a hotel or a spa
in my own room.
Yeah, you know, the best part is that there's no crazy prices and unnecessary markups. So
you get luxury sheets at an affordable price.
Most bedding that you guys get is marked up as much as 300%. So why not get Brooklyn in
and get quality sleep on the regular at an affordable price? I know I do. Lindsay does
and Brooklyn in is so affordable. What do you have to lose?
So I love Brooklyn and because they look cute, you can mix and match the patterns and I have
a couple sets of the sheets myself. So, you know, I always have Brooklyn in on my bed.
Brooklyn is the fastest growing bedding brand in the world over 12,000 five star reviews.
Brooklyn and Sheets named the winner of the best of online bedding category by Good Housekeeping.
First of all, colors and patterns, you can mix and match pattern too. So it can be fun
to try different styles together. Or if you're like Kale and I and you like to use a lot
of bleach, you can just get white ones. Yeah, we love it.
So Brooklyn and Sheets are the best, most comfortable sheets I've ever slept on. Brooklyn
in dot com has an exclusive offer for our listeners. That is to get $20 off and free
shipping when you use the promo code coffee at Brooklyn in dot com.
Brooklyn is so confident that they offer a risk free 60 night satisfaction guarantee
and a lifetime warranty on all their sheets and comforters. The only way to get $20 off
and free shipping is to use our promo code coffee at Brooklyn in dot com.
That's B R O O K L I N E N dot com promo code coffee. Brooklyn and these are the best sheets
ever. Okay, let's get back to it. I have to tell you, um, I my friend had texted me while
I was there, I was actually in an elevator and I don't know why I remember this, but
she texted me, um, that Kate Spade had committed suicide and I was like, well, this is fucking
depressing. And how crazy? Well, yeah, that was literally so crazy. It was, I mean, I
get shocked by the news every day whenever I read stuff. And you know, I read all the
time and I'm constantly like up to date with what's going on in the world, like whether
it be political, we don't really talk about that on here because it's not really something
that I want to get into. But like entertainment news and health news and everything, like
I'm pretty up to date with what's going on. And that was one thing that came across the
news that I was absolutely shocked by same. I didn't even have words. I didn't know what
to say. I just, I, we have been talking about suicide for like three straight weeks on this
podcast. Like I, what I don't even know what we can do to like help or to like spread awareness
or like maybe we put the hotline number in our description. I just, this is so sad.
So for those of you who are listening, who have not caught the news, I'm sure you have
heard bits and pieces and there's been multiple different false reports going around. There's
been multiple different stories in regards to Kate Spade's suicide. But according to
CBS this morning, Kate Spade's sister told them that she had struggled with mental illness
and bipolar disorder and that just happened to end tragically. I am under the impression
that she did not have a relationship with this sister and that has been across like
all articles that I have read that this sister was in a sense kind of estranged. I think
she had one sibling that she had a kind of decent relationship with that they talked
more regularly than the other siblings. But according to this sister, she had business
problems as well as marriage problems. And for those of you who don't know any of the
background information of this story, her housekeeper found her in her home where she
had hung herself in her bedroom from a doorknob with a red scarf. So her husband was at home
at the time and she left a note that was addressed to her daughter that said, it is not your
fault. And some of the reports that I read, the note was skewed, but this report said
that it said it is not your fault. She sold her company in 2007 and took off nine years
and dedicated her life to raising her daughter and she had since launched a new company with
her husband and tons of CNN, CBS, ABC all across the board said that actually the suicide
prevention hotline had increased calls by 25% since this tragedy and just that in general
her death had brought a lot of attention to mental health and awareness. So if we can
take anything out of this, she, you know, with it being such a tragedy, she has brought
a ton of awareness to suicide. And, you know, if you know anyone who is struggling or if
you yourself need help, you can go to the National Suicide Prevention Hotline and that
is 1-800-273-TALK. Again, it's 1-800-273-TALK. We'll make sure that we put it in our description
and there's ways that you can get help and across the board her friends and people that
kind of knew her said that it was very shocking that she was very lively, that she was like
full of color and full of life and they were very surprised. So you don't really know what
somebody is struggling with and if you just get any type of inkling that somebody is struggling
with something, it's not going to hurt you just to reach out and ask them how they're
doing because you might save somebody's life.
Yeah, I was just going to say just to piggyback off of that is like you might not be able
to get somebody to come forward on their own but just reaching out to people, you know,
maybe something doesn't seem right or maybe someone just crosses your mind like reaching
out to them, you know, reaching out to people that, you know, you're thinking of regularly
you should just definitely do that because I think a lot of people that are going through
this, they don't really know how to reach out and they sometimes I feel like they don't
even realize what they're kind of thinking or feeling. So having someone reach out to
them is probably best. I know I've struggled with, I don't know, just going through things
and not really having the right words to ask for help or ask, you know, ask my friends
to like talk through certain things. So I think just having someone else reach out and
just being there for the people you love will help tremendously but, you know, I'm glad
that we're able to have this platform and talk about stuff like that so that we can
also encourage the suicide hotline or whatever, however, you know, we can't help.
Well, and even if you, you know, have any type of depression or you're just having
a bad day or if you have anxiety or whatever it may be, find somebody that you can talk
to to just have that outlet so that things don't get to a level that you feel like you
can't emotionally handle life anymore. And it's just so sad to hear some of the things
that, you know, just like in her specific case, and I'm sure with lots of others who
have, you know, gone to this length of, you know, tragedy, her dad was saying that she
was in the middle of planning a trip, you know?
Yeah, that's hard. Okay, so number one, you might hear my dogs walking around in the background
while we record this. So that's the perfect time to talk to you guys about something that's
really important to me. You guys know I love my dogs and I'm loving the whistle device.
We use smart technology for everything else in our lives, so it only makes sense for us
to use it for our dog's health and safety as well. So which will attaches to your pet's
collar and allows you to track their location and activity from an app on your phone. And
you also get to set activity goals based on your pet's age, breed and weight, which will
help you monitor their daily activity and rest so you can do your best to keep them
super healthy. I found it helpful because I'm sure you guys have seen on my Snapchat that
my dogs sometimes get out from under the fence or, you know, maybe there's some lazy days
and I can set up their activity and it's just, I don't know, I love it.
Whistle can even alert you when your dog is in need of more activity, especially like
my lazy dog. So it's one less thing that you have to worry about and keep track of. It's
super lightweight. It weighs less than an ounce, literally. It's waterproof, so your
dog can swim with it. Microchipping is an important part of pet safety, but a lot of pets have
to be found. Microchipping is an important part of pet safety, but a lost pet has to
be found and taken to a shelter with a chip database, which can take hours or days. Whistle
uses GPS to monitor your pet's 24 seven, so it only takes minutes to find the location
of your pet. And when Wi-Fi is unavailable, the Whistle device uses cellular GPS technology
to enable tracking anywhere in the U.S. and notifies you if your dog gets out or leaves
its area, like Kale's dogs trying to go to the next state.
So Whistle brings peace of mind to pet owners across the nation. For a limited time, all
our listeners get $25 off a Whistle device when you use our code COMBOs. So go to whistle.com
right now and use COMBOs at checkout. Visit whistle.com today. Whistle, the smarter way
to care for your best friend. Now, back to the show.
So how does it go from that, like, days before to that?
Yeah, I don't know. That's crazy. I don't even know. I can't explain it because I haven't
been through it, but it definitely opens your eyes to a lot of things. And I just, you know,
just to be there for people. And I guess I just, I don't even really know how you can
help somebody if you don't, you know, if they're saying like she's lively and she's
planning a trip and she's doing all this, like, I guess we should do our research and
try to figure out like where, what do we need to look for? You know what I mean? Because
I don't know that if there's no red flags really, then how do you really know how to
help somebody? And I guess that's what I'm, you know, but what's kind of crazy?
Apparently in her situation, her husband said that she suffered from depression and anxiety
and that she had been seeing a doctor regularly and was taking medication to combat the conditions.
And you know, contrary to the other reports and the things that the sister that is not
involved, apparently those reports were untrue that she didn't have substance issues or business
problems. So I feel like it's one of those things that I don't know. I like have a bunch
of feelings on it. Like it's kind of weird that they're, because she was a public figure,
like the alleged reports and this person saying this person and this, you know, this person
saying one thing, this person saying another, like, doesn't really help. Because at the
end of the day, regardless of what was causing it or what she was going through, like, it
does get better. And regardless of what she was going through, I think, you know, it's
whether she had a doctor or not, I guess it still happens. So I guess that's the hardest
part to come to terms with.
Well, and just to like touch briefly on the fact of being, you know, a public figure,
I think it's so sad that, you know, the situation is what it is. And unfortunately, as public
figures, anything that is said or done, you're kind of used as an example. And they kind
of shine light on things the media does shine light on things that are, you know, not your
best days. And that's just the way that the media works. I disagree with some of the information
that has come out about her story as far as like how she was found. The, you know, fact
that it was with a red scarf and the note to her 13 year old daughter. And all this personal
information that I just feel shouldn't have been divulged out there, right. But it's the
media and unfortunately, that's what they do. That's how they, that's how they operate.
And they're going to continue to do it. And I just, I disagree with those types of information.
Like if you want to report that, you know, she committed suicide or whatever, then fine,
but kind of leave it at that. I feel like it's more so personal, like family things
that shouldn't be divulged for us to even know. Yeah, I agree. I definitely agree with
that. All right, y'all, I've switched up my beach body on demand routine and I've been
excited to tell you guys about it. I'm now trying the insanity workouts. And I have like
really been enjoying it for me. A lot of my workout struggle is just finding workouts
that are kind of like already done for me. So it kind of takes the whole thinking part
out of it. So I can actually just do the physical part. And I think the programs make it super
easy because you just follow along. There's nothing like the 24 seven access to this streaming
service. So for me, there can be no excuses to get a workout in. I try not to make excuses.
I work out like five times a week. Beach body on demand literally offers hundreds of effective
workouts for all different fitness levels. So if you're just getting started, they have
it for you. Or if you're like a pro, which I'm not a pro, they have that for you too.
It really has helped me maintain an exercise routine and I feel better just because I know
what I'm doing. So I am trying the P 90 X routine because Lindsay has raved about it
and she used it to get in shape for her wedding. So I'm excited to use it, get up and get motivated
by working out on your schedule and as little as 10 minutes. I really want you guys to try
it because our listeners get it absolutely free. So do it with us right now. Our listeners
get a special free trial membership like Kale said, when you text coffee to 30 30 30, you'll
get full access to this entire platform for free, all workouts and the nutrition information
and support that you need totally free. Again, that's just text coffee to 30 30 30. Now let's
get back to the show. So on another weird note, I know that we have taken a lot of time
on the podcast over the last few weeks as well, discussing John Benet and yes, her case
and I mean, the whole situation with that and the timing of everything has just been
kind of odd over the last few weeks. And I feel like we started talking about it before
it really was like resurfaced in the media again, it never really went away, but it wasn't
you know, like a huge hot topic item in the media and then it we started talking about
it and then all of a sudden we keep finding more and more articles that keep coming up
and I mean, the recent news stories, I know that you know about it. But the forensic psychiatrist
who consulted on her case and also consulted on many other high profile cases was killed
outside his office, he was found shot dead outside of his Phoenix office. So something
is weird about that. So now they're possibly going to exhume her body and now he's found
dead. And also someone had tweeted me saying that the dad can't get tried for double jeopardy
because they never they never he never like he I guess he got questioned but he was never
tried and convicted so they can't they can actually charge him if they find him to be
involved in the case somehow involved with her murder.
Well so I definitely thought wow, some things going on with this there's it like it's just
not adding up like there's too much like irony in this right like right. Yeah, I was like
oh wow, Cal and I are really going to crack the case. But then as I started doing my research,
there were actually six homicides in the Scottsdale area of Arizona and they appeared to be linked
to the murder suspects divorce. So apparently they I say they the police feel like they
have found the motive and the murder spree that killed the forensic psychiatrist and
he just happened to have that link to John Benet. But as we all know, the media tries
to find links and loopholes and stuff to try to get people to have conversations like we're
having now and to cause doubt and stuff like that. But for those of you who haven't read
anything about it, I'm just going to give you a little bit of an update. The suspect
that killed this forensic psychiatrist actually fatally shot himself on Monday in an area
hotel as law enforcement kind of started getting closer to his location. He took his own life
and the police believe that he was motivated just like from feeling hostile towards his
wife that he divorced eight years ago. Allegedly, he targeted individuals that played roles
in the breakup of his marriage and the four day killing spree. So the ex wife reportedly
received $100,000 payment alimony totaling $6,000 per month for five years and a Mercedes
in the divorce and the police say he predominantly lived in hotels after his marriage dissolved
and three of the victims of this killing spree played pivotal roles in the divorce according
to authorities and that included the psychologist who testified in court and two paralegals
from the firm representing his ex-wife in the case. So the fourth victim was a marriage
counselor and yeah. So basically it has nothing to do with the Jean Bonet case or his role
in that. No, I think that like I said before, initially I thought, wow, like they're trying
to exhume the body. Somebody's getting nervous. They're going to have this man killed because
he knows information and he's still living. This psychiatrist is like a 56 year old man,
something like that. And I really thought that there was like a link there. But I think
as we all know, as you know, being a TV personality, I know that the media tries to link whatever
they possibly can to get a headline. Oh my gosh. And you know what, Lindsay, if that
is not the one thing that you've said this entire week that has touched my life, I think
that's it. Literally exactly what I'm going through. So I completely, we both get it being
in the public eye, like they really will. Yeah. So even I thought it, I was like, they're
exhuming the body. So someone killed him to cover something else up. Yeah. I think you're
right. It has nothing to do with the Jean Bonet case at all. And I think just the media
doing what they do best, they are going to tag that name, Jean Bonet Ramsey and these
articles because at one time he testified in court and was the forensic psychologist
for our psychiatrist, whatever he is, I don't know the difference, you know, in them, but
psychiatrists can prescribe medicine and psychologists cannot. Okay, good to know. I don't know what
role he really played in the Jean Bonet case, but I just know that that was the link and
they found that one link. And then weeks before there was the news about Jean Bonet's body
being exhumed and then they tied those two things together because they knew it would
get tons of media attention and then they had media gold. Yeah, I agree. That's crazy.
There's just too many crazy things happening right now. That's, that's all there is to

Okay, let's get back to the show. So, and then you had weirdly sent me that article
about the FBI who lost the gun and like that break dancing incident.
Well, first of all, why was he on duty? Because why did he have his gun and why was he doing
backflips in the same?
So okay guys, Kale and I constantly send each other weird stuff that we see all the time.
Most of the time, I'm the one sending the weird stuff, but Kale actually saw this weird
thing first and it's such a strange story and it's like so bizarre, but evidently, according
to CNN, an FBI agent did a backflip at a club and he was just working on his dance moves
in Denver on Saturday. Before he was like launching into a backhand spring, he was just
dancing and in mid flip, his weapon flew out from his waistband holster and the agent
lunged for his gun when he saw it, you know, come out, but accidentally he fired it and
like that's just what happened. He accidentally fired when he went to pick it up and yeah.
So one person was he on duty?
He was not on duty. One person was struck in the lower leg but was expected to survive
and authorities at the time when the article came out when you saw it had not identified
the agent and he was not arrested and he at the time they were saying he may face criminal
charges, but now since you've been gone to Europe and whatever, I've investigated a little
bit more and the FBI agent has been charged with assault, second degree assault charges.
So I don't know exactly why an off duty FBI agent would have been at a bar carrying around
a gun and a holster in his pants anyway and then randomly like doing backflips and then
his gunfire, I think it honestly was like a freak accident, but but also just like negligent
and super careless, correct? Like if you're an FBI agent, you should be trained enough
to know that you should not one be doing backflips in a bar. Like I understand you're having fun
and letting loose, but like at his age, you're going at home or he should not be doing backflips
in a bar and yes, like leave your gun at home. If you were off duty, he had no business
having his gun in a bar drinking, carrying on and obviously he was feeling good to be
doing backflips. He had to have been like like tons of drinks deep.
Yeah, I mean, just very careless. So I'm not one to speak on carelessness because I've
made a lot of careless choices in the past year and everything is coming full circle
to me. So I'm just like, I'm trying not to judge right now.
Well, do you want to talk about things coming full circle for you, Kale?
I've just been stressed out, Lindsay. I'm super stressed out. I actually, you know,
I was hiking up Mount Versa, Versa is it Versa is pursuit Vesuvius. I was hiking up
Mount Vesuvius, which is a volcano that destroyed Pompeii in Italy and I was just trying to
reflect on my life and I just really the last like year I just didn't give a fuck about
anything and I made really dumb choices and I feel like they're all biting me in the ass
right now and I get to do it publicly and deal with it publicly and I'm just like struggling
a little bit. So I'm I really just can't judge but also that was really stupid of him, you
know, I'm just I'm going through it right now and I'm I'm going to get through it.
But you know, I feel like you just make decisions like you don't go through like a long decision
making process. Like I feel like you and I are so different in that aspect. Like I literally
act like everything is a science project or like I'm writing like a thesis or something
like I go through every before I commit or do anything I go through every possibility
of what could like happen before I say, Oh yeah, I'll do that.
Yeah, and I think over the past, I would, you know, a little less than a year, I don't
think that I was making good choices or like really thinking things through like, okay,
I do live my life in the public eye and I need to be wary. Okay, if I do this or I film
this or I say this, how will it affect me in my future, even as little as six months
from now? And I don't think that I did that. And I think that I made a lot of choices that
I regret and I've been feeling super regretful just because they just like weren't me and
they weren't good. I just didn't care. Like I was like, I didn't, I didn't realize how
it would affect me in the future. And now I'm like, okay, everything's coming full circle.
I'm reliving all these things that I did. And I'm like, what the hell was I thinking?
So now I'm going to be more careful and I'm going to make conscious decisions to think
things through, understand how they're going to affect me, understand how the media is
going to portray me. And it's unfortunate that I have to live like that, but I think
that you can help me do that. Like, hey, Lindsay, I might say this on the podcast and then maybe
afterwards you're like, okay, Kale, maybe we should edit that part out because you probably
shouldn't say that. You know what I mean? Or like, hey, Lindsay, I'm going to film about
this and you're like, wait, Kale, that's not really smart. Like I feel like I need to like
I need to use your friendship and help to guidance, because I just have not been making
good decisions. And I, you know, everyone in my, and everyone in my life now is going
to sign an NDA because you're not about to sell me out. And I just don't want to be bothered
with new people coming into my life. Like I just feel like I just need to kind of take
a break from people. Like if you're not already in my life, don't try to be in my life.
Well, and I think, you know, a lot of people get excited about, you know, making new friends
and whatever. I've just never really been that girl. I don't really even care if I
have any friends or like if I don't, or if somebody doesn't want to be my friend, like
I don't really care. I have everything I need in my household that makes me happy. So that's
where, you know, my happiness is, I don't find my happiness in other people. Like of course
I love having like my friend relationships and think that they're super great. And,
but don't let them get too close. And I think that's my problem is like, I'm letting people,
I like give people the benefit of the doubt and I go against all of my better judgment.
I'm like, yeah, they might do something, but I don't actually think they'll come, they'll
follow through with it. But you had said something, and I want to say it was on the podcast, but
probably off the podcast, you said like, you don't even really let your friends get close
to Jackson. And I never understood that because I was like, well, I don't have family. So
my friends are my family. But just like relationships, like you don't want to introduce a relationship
to your children too soon. I have regrets about letting certain friends into my kids
life because my kids love a lot of my friends. And then we have a fallout and then, you know,
they're asking where my, my friends are even going. So it's not just relationships. And
I think that I've made, you know, I do have my solid group of friends that have been by
my side for, since I basically moved to Delaware, but there are some people who have kind of
been in and out. And I think that I'm going to do the same. Like, no, you're not going
to come to my house every night. No, I'm not going to introduce you every, you know, to
my kids every time I make a new friend. Like there's no reason for that. And I just moving
forward, I want to make better choices and decisions. And I want to, I just feel like
I need to go with my gut instinct because I've been going against it a lot.
Well, and I think too, like when you become an adult and also when you become a parent,
like your dynamic changes, you know, with your friends or it should. And, you know, I
don't require that daily interaction with friends. You know, I have, I have girlfriends
and we hang out and occasionally go to dinner or whatever, but I kind of make special time
for that in my life and there's a time and a place for it. And then other than that,
I focus on Jackson and I focus on, you know, working out and focus on like what kind of
meals we're eating and school and work. And I focus on all of those things on a daily
basis and, you know, try to be the best person that I can be like, I try to like really focus
on myself and like where I can be a better person and, you know, how can I get to church
more and how can I, you know, make more time for my Bible and like stuff like that. I focus
on those things and that's where I put my energy and my effort and everything else kind
of falls into place. And I will say I've lost some friends along the way because of that,
but that's okay. Like I'm fine with it because those friends, if they can't, you know, respect
my priorities, then they don't need to be there anyway.
I just, I think that I look at us at like your situation or like even Chelsea, like
I pretty much anyone that I'm on the show with and even you or like my friends from
other shows and they just don't have people, whether they're getting into fights with their
friends or fall out or lose touch or whatever, they break up. Like I look at everybody else's
situation and I'm like they don't, their people don't sell them out or try to sell them out
or try to get them back in that way. And I feel like some of the people that I've been
around have done that to me and I think I just need to like reevaluate that and like
the people I have in my life. So I just want to be more careful with the things that I
do and, you know, I do have, you know, custody with the boys, dads and stuff. So why not
only do like friend stuff when they're with their dads or, you know, have like, you know,
if they're going to be certain people, you know, I do want to run my kids, there's certain
times for them to come over and be around the kids. So I just need to be more conscious
and just do, do better.
Well, and I don't know how you have that many people in your house, like in and out constantly,
that would drive me absolutely.
It's actually been a while since I've had people in and out. Like it's just because
I usually the two boys are with their dads when they come and then it's just the baby,
but then I'm like, up late and I regret it in the morning. But yeah, I just don't have,
it's like, it kind of like is it in periods and stuff. So but it's been at least a month
since I've had anyone really over except for, you know, Chris comes to help with the baby
and stuff like that. And yeah, I just, and I feel better, like I like it better when
I kind of just have like my peace and quiet or the chaos with the kids.
Speaking of peace and quiet, I guess your dog decided to be quiet. Maybe it decided
that it was going to sleep. And your kids like, were they excited to see you whenever
you got home?
Oh my God, they were so excited, Lindsay. So Lincoln ran up to me was so excited and
Isaac too. So I got them a couple things while I was in Europe and one of them. So Isaac
and I share like a love of like science. And so when I hiked up Mount Vesuvius, I got
him at one of the shops, obviously, I didn't pick up a rock off the ground because that's
not allowed.
Like a little souvenir of the lava and when it like broke open, it had like crystals inside
of it. And so I was telling Isaac about it and showing him the pictures and he thought
it was the coolest thing. And he put the little rock on his nightstand and he was like, this
is so awesome. He thought it was so cool. I got them shirts from the countries. They
were just super excited. So, and now they're wondering where we're going next and I'm kind
of all traveled out for a minute. So I think we're going to, you know, we, I took them
to Jamaica already. So I think we're going to just lay low for a little while.
Well, Jackson's in church camp for the next two weeks, like this week and then next week.
And then we're going to Chattanooga for the weekend, which is just a short little drive
for us. It's like an hour and 30 minutes from home and we're just going to go up for
the weekend and maybe just go to like the park. They have a cool children's museum there
and just going to go out to some cool dinner spots that we normally don't go to on a weekly
basis. And just like a change of scenery, you know, and yeah, that's always good. Just
maybe like get ice cream at a different ice cream place that we wouldn't normally go
to and just kind of do the same things we would do around home, but just like explore
somewhere else. Yeah. Yeah. So that'll be so much fun.
So since you've been gone, I've been like diving into the whole merchandising side of
the podcast and looking for like shirts and stuff like that. I am more of a relaxed, tight
fit t-shirt. If I'm going to wear it, I don't want something super like fitted as a t-shirt.
And I have found like three different styles that I absolutely love, but I wanted to ask
you, do you think that people like more fitted looking t-shirts?
So I'm the same way. I don't want to wear it. If I'm like even right now, I have like
a comfortable t-shirt that I got, I think in Maui and it's just like a comfortable relax
shirt. It's not tight fitted. And I think people like that. I don't think that the shirts
that we would have or the merch that we would have is not going to be like skin tight. You're
going to wear it to go out. I think it's like more comfortable, like doing errands stuff
like that. So I feel like the comfortable stuff would be better, but maybe we should
take a poll on Instagram. Yeah, I think we just need to see kind of
what more people would like because we're going to go with that. And I think we kind
of have an idea of the relax fit. Like it's still cute, but it's just, okay, you can throw
it on like right now I'm wearing a super relax fit t-shirt with a sports bra and a pair of
athletic pants. And I think that's more of the look that we're catering to versus trying
to like put together an outfit. This isn't supposed to be, you know, something like that.
This is supposed to be more so like if you went to like a concert and you were going
to grab a tea, what would that be? Or like you're traveling and you're grabbing a t-shirt.
Yeah, I agree. I think just the comfortable fit, but I think we should take an Instagram
poll. We should also wait for the listeners to hear this, tweet us your thoughts and let
us know kind of like what you're going to wear if you're going to, you know, get one
of our shirts. Yeah, and then a lot of people too were asking price point and we kind of
haven't really gotten to that yet. But of course, very affordable. We want to keep the
cost as low as possible for you guys and also give you something that's going to last and
be something comfortable that you can wear all the time. I have a friend who is very
smart when it comes to merchandising and picking fabrics that will last and it won't be like
a one wash type thing and then you won't be able to wear it again. That's super important
to us because I know that, you know, things are expensive and people don't want to buy
something that's not going to last. Another question that we got too was about coffee
cups like would we do tumblers or would we do coffee mugs or I say we do both. Yeah,
I think we do both and give one option of a tumbler and one option of a mug. Yeah, I
think a lot of people are going away from mugs and doing the types of mugs that are
like the shorter ones that have the lids on the top for, you know, more travel accessible
and then I know that I use a tumbler every day. So we just really need to look into,
you know, what the options would be for that. A lot of people have asked about our coffee
combo cups that are in the pictures on our Instagram and, you know, those you guys can
get any time from day one creations. Sweet. Well, I'm excited to catch up next week for
coffee combos and thank you guys for listening. We're super excited to get you merchandise
and like we've talked about a million times, we are working towards other platforms and
other ways to, I don't know, just like be more personal with you guys. So just keep
checking our Instagram. We'll have hopefully soon we'll be doing some type of tour or live
thing and we might be coming to a TV screen or computer screen near you. So keep updated,
keep, keep your notifications on and we'll talk to you guys next week. All right, bye.
