I hate gift giving and receiving.
Receiving gifts is so weird.
What do you say thank you?
This is coffee convoes with Kail Lowry and Lindsay Crissly.
I really want you to be in your feels, Kail.
That does not interest me whatsoever.
I feel very attacked by you.
A spirited discussion about motherhood, friendship, family, and life in the public eye.
I'm just not with the fakery anymore.
There's a fakery bakery around here.
Here's Kail and Lindsay.
Okay.
We're back.
Good morning.
Good morning.
from South Carolina.
Listen to me.
Right after I cracked the salani.
Listen, I used to hate this flavor and now it's become one of my faves.
The purple cotton candy one tastes like nerds.
It's cotton candy, but if you like nerds, you'll like the purple one.
I don't like nerds.
You let me tell you why?
Yeah.
Because I don't like the sour after.
You know, like that weird like after taste?
I don't like it.
see I'm a big I'm a good sour girlie I like the sour so how are you doing I'm doing okay how are you how was your drive into south carolina my drive was great um how many hours five and a half hours stopped at chilies on the way I'm so jealous so good I know um when we were riding down the road mm-hmm I was like keel would be so jealous and I'm coming to get a triple dipper I did go get a triple dipper after I talked to my doctor for my follow-up
on celiac and I told her that the makeup and the hair stuff is going to be the easiest part for me.
I said the food is going to be the hardest and I told her to give me the week to kind of
balance it out.
So one of the places that Ike and I went was to Chili's to get a triple dipper because I was
like I'm not going to be able to eat these again.
So were you just going to like cheat for an entire week and then?
So originally I was going to cheat for the whole week.
So I was like, okay, this is my last situation.
And then I got all the hair and makeup stuff.
And I was like, this is not going to be beneficial to me if I just cheat the whole week.
So as of today, I am like 12 hours gluten-free.
I saw kale eating a salad for breakfast.
That was probably the highlight of our weeks.
But to be fair, it had egg.
It had shredded.
I added shredded carrots to it, grilled chicken.
So it was like more than just the lettuce.
That salad looked disgusting for breakfast.
It was like a brunch because it was like 11 a.m.
I've never seen you sleep that late either.
No, I've been so tired.
I do want to address the fact that we are still Coffee Convo's podcast as of right now.
And I also want to address some of the comments that I've seen of people saying that
you guys built this brand and you built it off that name and it absolutely should not change.
And then I've seen opposite comments of people saying we're here for whatever you guys decide to do.
We haven't even had a conversation about that since the last recording that we did in Philly.
So we'll have to talk about it this week while we're together.
This is the first time that we are back together since the Philly recordings first.
first time back together.
Well, the first time, I guess, that you guys will hear us after the batch recordings.
The recordings that were batched were from a combination of Atlanta and New York.
And obviously, when I stepped away for the five weeks, Kale took on the episodes on her own.
Also saw a lot of people saying, oh, well, Lindsay,
didn't thank Kiel for taking on the recordings. You don't know what goes on in private. And
that was a joint business decision that we made. Yes. But aside from that, I'm happy to be back.
I'm very happy to be back too. And a lot of people are really, some of our listeners who are in their
50s are really upset about your 52. You need to go home and go to bed.
Oh no.
And so I wanted to address that part.
It wasn't a general statement to anyone who is 52 years old.
I would imagine if you are 52 years old, the point of the comment was.
He wasn't acting his age.
And I would guess that a lot of 52 year olds were just more mature.
Correct.
That was, I saw a comment on Facebook about some people.
were laughing about it and I said who said that and they were like you did and I don't remember what
we said did I say that or was it you well Heather Lomeyer um said that it was a combination of something
that we said I guess is that what you're talking about I'll call her not us calling Heather
to ask who said it I love Heather I don't care what anyone says like I Heather is such a light to
this earth and like she she she told
told she will tell me about myself she'll text me and say i don't agree with this so like i can
respect her for that so you and heather are on text basis yeah wow i kind of feel left out i had she
came and visited me in dallas hey heather i'm going to put you on speaker phone i have a question for
you gosh um lindsay and i recorded an episode and people were upset about us saying you're 50 to go to bed
can you just tell tell me remind me who said what like did i say that did lindsay say that like what
happened you both said it so lindsay said yes go to bed you're 52 and then you kind of laughed
and then you were like yeah it's past your bedtime pop pop pop and it was hilarious okay i said
let me call hether to confirm what what transpired okay that's all i won't bug you it was it's okay
It was a collective of both of you having that conversation.
So she said it, but then you bounced off of it with the comment.
Got it.
Okay.
She's such a sweetheart.
She came to my Dallas show.
And then afterwards, she sent me messages with constructive criticism, feedback, all the things.
We love a friend like that.
And she was like, this is not to be on payroll.
This is to help you.
And I was like, I love you.
On payroll is crazy.
Who is not on payroll, you know?
Everyone's off the payroll these days, okay?
Oh my God.
I'm just kidding.
I'm kidding.
I'm kidding.
So we had discussed when we were in Philly that we were going to be going through an entire rebrand and, you know, also just want to address things that I've seen and kind of been, you know, following some of the threads.
We had, you know, asked in the Facebook group, which absolutely love that Facebook group.
It's the greatest community.
do I think that there are some people in there that genuinely don't like us. I think there's a combo of
major supporters and those that don't. I love the feedback. I loved people saying, you guys built this
show and we don't want any changes. But I think people also fail to remember that we started
this journey 10 years ago. As you are speaking right now in real
time because we haven't talked about it. What are your thoughts on renaming it? Like, I, because I could go
either way. At first, when we talked about redoing the show in a new format and knew all the things,
I was like, I just feel like we don't, coffee combos doesn't fit us. And then it slowly transitioned
into, well, we could name it something else. And the tagline could be the combos you have over coffee
or something like adding a tagline. Now I'm like, it could go either.
way for me. Where do you, because I think you were more against it before. Are you entertaining it at all?
I mean, I think as we go through the process of the restructure, I think that that will naturally come.
I don't think we need to make a decision overnight on that. To several people's point,
they said, you know, you guys have won awards with that podcast name and, you know, the press that
we've gotten from the podcast, it would no longer be associated if we somewhat rename it. And for me,
I'm like, this has somewhat been our identity for 10 years. Would I be okay with renaming it if it made
sense? Yes. Do I also want to keep it? Yes. Same. That's what that's sort of where I'm at. I feel
that coffee combos podcast like the awards and all the things they still stand as we were we were that
we were that i i think that that was the era of of us in coffee combos if we were to change it i'm not
like i said i could go either way i don't care as long as the branding like and by branding i mean
like the colors and the design as long as that feels like us the name is the name is the name i don't
care either way. But I think the awards that we won were where we were where we were where we were
were where we were at that time. So if we were to change the name, I would just feel like it, to me,
it would feel like an evolution. And so I wouldn't because that was, whenever baby mama's ended,
one of the hardest parts for me specifically was, okay, well, these awards were won with this as baby
mamas. And now I have, now I have karma and chaos with Becky. And so there was like a little bit,
And I'm not trying to be dramatic, but this also is my real job, right?
Like this isn't a side gig.
This isn't a hobby.
This is my livelihood.
So I was like grieving a little bit that part of it because that's what it was.
Yeah.
And it's gone.
But I kind of resolved that by thinking, okay, well, those are the awards that we won when I was in that era of my life.
And so I've come to terms with it now.
Coffee Convo's podcast is brought to you by Vented.

A lot of people also said, you know, it's interesting because they mentioned that they, you know,
didn't talk a lot when when Kristen was involved. And I want to clarify that a little bit because
the things that we weren't talking about, it was friendship conversations that were going on.
And, you know, texts back and forth within the last, since January, Kail and I've talked on the phone more.
We used to never cold call each other now.
It's just a cold call, pick up the phone, many a text every day.
I think because there was so much navigation of schedule and things that were going on,
she's navigating seven kids versus my one.
I have way more flexibility in my schedule.
I have the two podcasts.
She has the three podcasts and also seven children.
And so I think that I definitely.
deferred to Kristen at that time to just be like, hey, just figure it out and let me know.
But that could have also been anyone. So if it wasn't Kristen, it could have been someone else.
And also, I think during that time was like, we didn't want to piss each other off either.
So it was like if it came directly from the other person, it felt like an attack.
But then ultimately that backfired. And that was our doing. Right. Like, we're not,
I'm not blaming anybody else for that. It's like we could have been adults to talk about adult things and
business things. And so moving forward, I think it's fine. And Lindsay, I have to give you your flowers
about you becoming over time more flexible. In the beginning, it was probably very uncomfortable for you
to like bend towards my chaos. And it was really uncomfortable for me to bend towards your like
more type A. Rigid. Yeah, like rigid schedule. In terms of the schedule, because I'm not saying you're
rigid or type A everywhere. But I think in terms of the podcast in the beginning, like, and by the beginning,
I mean a majority of the eight, I guess eight years to 10 years, whatever, we've kind of been to each other now and now that we have a schedule.
And I also think like right now we're both having our laptops up because we have like segments we want to do.
And I think like us bending to each other and not just it being one sided is going to be really helpful like moving forward.
But I think it just took time and I don't think that we would be in the situation even to be able to have this conversation had we not gone through some of the things that we've been through.
right because what we didn't know you know and I think now I'm not afraid to piss you off and I don't
think you're afraid to piss me off no I mean and full transparency and I'm I'm gonna try my best not to
use that overuse that word anymore because I feel like I just overuse it all the time but Lindsay and I
when we were in Anaheim it got heated a little bit and on the last episode we talked about how I was
crying and Lindsay wasn't and last night Lindsay came up to my room and we were talking about it
And you thought that my, well, I don't know what you thought, but I didn't take any, you said,
you can say I was being a bitch.
And I, like, you can ask Ike, I swear on everything I love.
I never for one second took anything that you said personally, because to me, it was,
everything was separate.
So like, yes, I was crying because there was a potential.
If the podcast went away, our friendship would change drastically.
And not saying that we wouldn't be friends anymore, but it would not look the same as it does.
and I was like, nothing that you said in any way was like a personal attack.
And it wasn't intended to be personal.
And I think sometimes whenever you're in business with someone that you do have a very
personal relationship with and know so much about their personal life, I think that that
convolutes things a lot.
Because sometimes you don't want to have those hard business conversations.
You know, it's just easier to avoid it and be like, how's the kids?
Yeah.
You know, and in order for.
us to be able to evolve and make this change that we want to make. And this has nothing to do with
the listener because I also ran across a TikTok of somebody that reports on us quite often and said
that we would be nothing if it wasn't for our listeners. And while I do agree with that to some
extent. We also are in a place, and I think we've both been in a place before this that we wanted to
appease everyone. And we went through ebbs and flows where Kiel was wanting to do it more at
certain points, and I was wanting to do it more at certain points. And we were never really kind of
on the same page. But over the last year, I've just learned to like,
sit back and take what people say, not necessarily negative, but like, how can I spend that to
be positive to make the change that I know that I want to make?
Yeah.
You know, like I'm not taking that.
When I watched that, I feel like I'm watching it very differently than I would have a
year ago.
Yes.
No doubt.
No doubt.
But we wouldn't be here.
Sometimes you have to go through this kind of stuff to get to that perspective and that,
like, but I want the listeners to know that.
nothing that we said on on those filly episodes was intended to be like hey we don't give a shit like that's not
oh no no no that wasn't the intent um i think for the people who who listen that that just want to hate us
you know i'm going to stand by what i said you know this is your stop and get off for those who
support us um and you don't have to agree with everything that we say right like i don't
agree with most of what anybody says. You know what I mean? But that doesn't mean that I'm,
you know, going to go to the internet and, and try to dissect something or try to make it into something
that it's not because I do think that certain things that I've read, it's like words were
twisted and turned in a way that they were not intended. That's going to happen no matter what I think.
So I just, you know, I think that we've gotten mostly positive feedback and I appreciate everyone who's stuck with us.
And, you know, I'm ready to try to dive into the new formats and, you know, have more positive uplifting energy and offer our audience something to take away from every episode.
Like, that's kind of where I want to go.
Before we dive into that, I want to get the update truly on celiac.
and also give the listeners their flowers because people have been saying that you need to be tested
for celiac for years.
I believe the first coffee combo, like first of all, I had not heard of celiac disease until
coffee combos listeners.
Secondly, I believe it was like 2017, 2018, when the first coffee combos listeners told me to get
tested.
And I just, in my head, I just like couldn't.
I like I'm overall healthy like mostly every surgery I've had was cosmetic except for um that I can
think of off the top of my head obviously don't quote me on this um and then I get strep throat
a lot right but like overall healthy I've never had a torn ACL I've never had migraines I've never
you know what I mean like so I was like there's no way I have celiac disease like what are the chances
I learned I'm losing my voice for some reason I don't know why I hope I'm not getting strep
Because if I am, I'm not ready.
I learned it's an autoimmune disease and it's genetic.
So if my kids don't have the marker for it, it's a simple blood test.
If the kids don't have the marker for it, they'll never get it.
If they have the marker for it, they could get it, but doesn't necessarily mean that they will.
But I say all this to say, I was getting my hair done this morning.
And Lindsay, Lindsay's upstairs.
I was going to say Lindsay text me.
Lindsay's upstairs and she's like, you need to do aschat GPT how untreated celiac disease would show up in children.
The doctor told me that you have to have your, I think it's called first degree relatives is what she called it.
I don't remember exactly what the name is, but it's like your parents, your siblings, your children.
Not your cousins, not your aunts and uncles.
Your parents, your siblings, so they're like one degree.
Does that make sense?
Mostly immediate.
Yeah.
Okay.
Have them tested for celiac.
Okay, so I search it and the symptoms of untreated, undiagnosed celiac disease in children are literally
Lux and Creed to a T.
Which is just crazy.
But I'm not saying they both have it, but I would guess my gut is telling me that one or both
of them have it.
And so this is what they say.
Celiac disease in a child with behavioral, sorry, signs that might point towards
celiac disease in a child with behavioral changes.
poor growth or weight loss, chronic constipation or diarrhea, abdominal pain and bloating,
frequent mouth ulcers, we don't have that, iron deficiency anemia, delayed puberty, chronic fatigue,
a history of celiac disease.
And it says if a child has been, oh wait, hold on, hold on, hold on, hold on,
sorry, malnutrition, damage to the small intestine, inflammation, physical discomfort,
low energy, increased irritability or frequent meltdowns.
And I love Creed with peace and love.
I mean this with all the love in the world.
Creed has, I have never met a child that has more meltdowns in him.
Anxiety, which he's always had, depression or sadness, difficulty concentrating or brain fog,
hyperactivity or ADHD-like symptoms, fatigue that can make children appear uncooperative
or moody, sleep disturbances, and emotional outbursts.
That is, I would say, more Creed than Lux.
But Creed is almost six years old, and he's still having night terrors that last up to 30 minutes.
Oh, wow.
And online.
I thought those went away.
No, they went away for a very short period of time.
I came to South Carolina like four days before me.
He had them two nights in a row.
Cree did.
And he slept with me.
So I was like monitoring him the whole time.
But online, it's like, oh, they should resolve themselves in 10 to 15 minutes.
No, these go on and on.
And you can't wake him up, right?
Even if I tried to wake him up, he won't.
Because the first few times I didn't realize that it was night terrors.
I didn't.
I tried.
and he wouldn't wake up anyway.
What even calls his night tears?
It says all kinds of stuff.
But what's crazy is like my kids are on a rigid sleep routine.
So like they go to bed at this time every single night.
I don't know why he still has it because it says like not, what is it?
Not routine sleep.
You know, things that would disrupt sleep and things like that.
If you're overtired, like there's tons of different factors.
But I was like, I don't know.
I think celiac sounds more like creed, if any.
anything. But I'll be, I called the doctor while you were in hair and makeup and they're going to
get scheduled for, um, for labs. That's so crazy. Jackson's never had his blood drawn,
drawn. So I don't know what that's like. It's not fun for kids. I am absolutely terrified for the
day when that comes. We had to get the, their first time. All of my kids' first time getting
their blood drawn was when we had the scare. What was the scare? What was the
care for.
Lead.
Oh, the lead.
Lead.
Notoriously incorrect from the finger stick.
Yeah.
And then it came back so high that they had to take us, they told us to go get everybody
tested.
And then it just came back.
It was the original test was a false positive.
But yeah.
So that's the newest on gluten, my celiac.
My number is 166.5.
Normal is below six.
so it's going to take some time, but I'm going to try my best to be gluten-free this week.
All right, ladies, let's take a quick break to talk about Fabletics,
which is one of my absolute most favorite brands.
And this time of year, the only challenge is figuring out what to wear when it's 85 degrees
outside, but it's freezing inside.
And I have been reaching for lightweight layering pieces lately, and that's one of the reasons
that I love shopping at Fabletics, because they have so many pieces that are perfect for this
in-between season. If you are new to Fabletics, becoming a VIP unlocks major savings on your
first purchase, which makes refreshing your wardrobe a whole lot more affordable. I actually went out
and had appetizers on Friday and somebody complimented me on my little set that I was wearing
and I sent them straight to Fabletics. When I signed up as a new VIP, I got 70 to 80% off everything,
which made it so easy to stock up on the matching sets, everyday basics and lightweight layering
pieces without spending a fortune. So this is your sign to shop now at fabletics.com
slash coffee combos to get 70 to 80% off everything when you sign up as a new VIP.

This is a limited time offer. So don't wait. Again, that's fabletics.com slash coffee combos for
70 to 80% off everything as a new VIP.
We were talking about celiac. Now we can move on.
I need all the updates with you.
I need to know what's going on in your life.
What has not been going on in my life?
First of all, by the time everyone hears this,
Jackson will probably be multiple weeks already into school,
which is absolutely crazy.
Will and I have been tag teaming.
Normally, we go back to school shopping together.
Right.
This year, we did not.
Jackson and Will went and then Jackson and I went.
That was kind of like a weird experience after doing it together for so many years.
I think I'm just kind of at the place that I'm going to follow as I'm not currently in therapy.
I'm going to follow what Jackson's therapist said and things that we can no longer
maintain in the future.
We don't need to be doing anymore.
Like what? Can you give me an example of what I mean? I don't think there's anything wrong with us going like back to school shopping and stuff together. And I I don't want to out necessarily anybody's business on here. But Will has someone in his life. And I just, I think that it's we're in a time and a place to where we're comfortable kind of doing stuff separate. Okay. And I think it took a long time to get there. You know.
And sometimes it does. And sometimes.
Sometimes you're doing the best you can.
And I think this not just goes for you, but everybody, when you're trying to find the balance of co-parenting, I've seen co-parents continue to do family stuff with the other parent, even though they're with other people or whatever.
I mean, I tried to do it for some time with my kids' dads, but sometimes it doesn't work out for long.
And sometimes it works for them for the kid's lifetime.
You know, I think it just depends.
And it's okay if you guys don't do stuff together.
I've been doing a lot of what I feel is healing and putting certain things in proper perspective.
Like, yes, we are divorced and yes, we need to like move on with our lives.
And he has his relationship with Jackson separate than my relationship with Jackson.
Do I think that we won't ever do stuff like that together anymore?
No.
But at the same time, I want the newness of Will's relationship.
to be respected and to allow her to kind of see the dynamic of what we are and the things that we do. And
you know, I wouldn't have any reservations. I think October's going to be here before we know it.
And we know that I don't do Halloween. Will does Halloween. But I always go to Will's to do Halloween
and ride on the golf cart with him and Jackson. And so I'm hoping by the time it gets to that point
that we all can can jointly go together. That would be fun. That would be good is what I'm hoping.
Yeah. No, I think that's fair. And I feel like that also is nice that you're kind of looking forward to that time and you're kind of already sitting with it because sometimes people want divorces and co-parenting to be so black and white right away. And that's just not the case. No. Sometimes it's learning and sometimes it's changing and sometimes you take 12 steps backwards. I have. So I think that that's good that it's kind of like a goal for you to look forward to and kind of already sit with it ahead of time. And I think I'm just in such a
different place than I was even a year ago with the situation that, you know, as long as
the person that he brings into Jackson's life is good to him and loves him and includes him
and does all of those things, I couldn't, I couldn't ask for anything more. And Will's really good
about vetting those situations and in fairness. I feel like he in a lot of ways has been
better at vetting some of those situations than I have.
It's hard because I think that when you get divorced, like naturally people will be like,
well, she left him or he left her or they were done.
You don't have a right to say that doesn't mean that the feelings just go away.
That doesn't mean that it's going to be an easy thing to like process or get through regardless
of who left who or if somebody cheated or, you know, it doesn't like it's not black and white.
And it's so funny because I've started setting, I talk a lot about boundaries and then don't have any, right? And so I have taken these last five weeks to start, you know, setting healthy boundaries and various aspects of my life. And I don't go into Will's house anymore. And so it was weird when I dropped Jackson off before I came on this trip because I dropped him at the door with his food and made sure, you know, he got in. And you can tell.
Will's a little bit uncomfortable with it.
He's like, are you not going to come in and see the dogs?
And I'm like, no, just send him out.
You know, it's just a really weird place that we're at.
But I think that we're in the healthiest place that we've probably ever been.
That's good.
So silver linings.
Silver lining.
I will say, though, like the weirdness of being with someone for so long and you were with
Will longer than I've been with any of my kids' dads, it is weird because you still are
connected to them through.
the kids, but it's still weird that they're different people now.
Like, no matter how much you can tell, well, I know them, they'll never change or whatever.
It's still weird because, like, you used to live with them and share a life with them.
And now they have that with themselves or with their family or with a partner or whatever
that looks like.
And it's so weird to think about, like, I have a child with this person.
I'm raising a child with this person.
It is weird to not go into their house.
It's so weird.
You don't even know how they live anymore.
I know.
I'm like, well, I will say, uh, prior.
to this five weeks, I was in Will's house and I was cleaning his dishes because it was driving me nuts with him being in a sink. And I'm like, wait a minute. Why am I cleaning your dishes? It doesn't matter if you have dishes here. I'm no longer your wife. Like I no longer am supposed to be doing this. I'm no longer supposed to be loading your dishwasher. It's weird. And I don't know if you feel this way, but like your kids having another room somewhere else. It's like I know what his room is at my house, but I don't really know like,
how it operates over there.
Not that it's my business, but.
But it's still like curiosity.
Yeah.
Because like I always want to know for Lincoln like, what, what is it like?
Not because I'm being invasive.
I literally just am so curious like the dynamics because I didn't go between houses as a
kid.
So like what is it?
What do you like about it over here?
What do you like about it over there?
What don't you like over here?
You know what I mean?
Like it's just so fascinating to me.
It's so funny because after Jackson and I went back to school shopping last week,
I was like, oh God, like I'm going to Charleston and then I'm going to Charlotte and, you know, he has his like meet the teacher thing this week and I'm going to miss it. I've never missed one. And so Will was telling me he was like, ha ha, you're not going to be able to keep stuff from me anymore because I'm going to put my email on that instead of yours and I'll find out every time that he gets in trouble because I never really tell.
Well, because, okay, but we've talked about this before when you get in trouble for something at one house, it doesn't always carry over into the other one. I think that there are like special circumstances where it should. But like if you get in trouble at school and then you get in trouble at mom's house, are you going to take it over to dad's house? Like how many? But even on Will's days, the school will call me or like I will get the email because I left his email off of the stuff at the beginning of school because I'm like they are.
truly like bulls and china shops together. I think their personalities are so, so similar that they
butthead so much. And the way that I deal with the conflict when it comes to Jackson or him doing
something that he shouldn't be doing is very, very different than the way that Will deals with it.
Yeah. And Jackson's more responsive to the way I deal with it. It's like, I'm going to tell you
about yourself. And then it's going to be a cold shoulder and you probably need to go and take a
fucking nap. I need to take a nap. And Will's like you're running hills. I mean, there are
pros and cons of both. So one is not better than the other. Yeah, but it was so funny. I was cleaning up
before I took him to Will's and making his bed. And he was like, Mom, why is it every time that
I go to dads, you strip my bed? And I said, because you've typically been here a week and we
wash our sheets every week. And he said, well, dad definitely doesn't do that. And I said, well, how often
is he washing sheets over there? He's like, I don't know. I've never seen him do it. I'm like,
now it's taking me back to the college days when I met Will and he had never washed his sheets.
It looked like his entire body print was on the sheets because he had never washed the sheets.
So I'm like, is that what, you know what, at this point, the child's fed, he's clean.
Nothing, nothing's wrong.
Like, if he's sleeping in musty, dusty-ass sheets over there, there's nothing I can do about it.
You've come a long way, Lindsay.
I have.
You have come a long way.
I have.
Yeah, because the old Lindsay would have went in that house, stripped the sheets, put them in
bleach, bought new ones, put them on.
Yep.
You would have done all that for them.
I would.
And I've gotten to the point where I'm like, you know, I'm going to have to let Will start doing stuff, you know.
It's hard.
Jackson has to go to the pediatrician and Will's like, we need to get a new doctor where it's closer.
And I'm like, no, we actually don't because you've never taken him.
So like, and he's like, yeah, but I need to start.
And I'm like, well, he's almost phased out of a pediatrician by now.
Well, to be fair, Elliot is 16 and still sees a pediatrician.
I need to know everybody who's listening to this.
How long you went to your pediatrician?
Because I went to the same pediatrician's office for my whole life.
I had already started having sex and was still going to the pediatrician.
And they finally were like, okay, Lindsay, I think it's time.
I didn't have a regular pediatrician.
So you didn't go to the doctor when you were going on?
I only went to the doctor when I had a trip throat.
And that's it.
You never went for like checkups or anything.
I'm surprised you're still living.
I mean, Susie wasn't keeping up. You know what I mean? Like the wellness visits were not a thing for her. It was like if she's sick, she can go. That was the only time. Wait, I saw a TikTok and it was, I don't even know how like I came across this page, but maybe it's like the algorithm or something, but it's a teen mom page and it has all the old footage on there. And it was you and Joe. And y'all were arguing about the cheating. And, you know, you all were arguing about the cheating. And,
Joe's house and you were leaving and your mom was there. I didn't cheat in Joe's house. No, y'all
were having the conversation in Joe's house. Joe's parents were there. Oh, because we broke up and I dated
somebody else. You broke up and you dated Jordan, right? Yes. Okay. Yeah. So I'm, I'm watching this and
you know what? We've said a lot about Susie on here, but I was actually thoroughly impressed by that
footage. Why? She barely did anything.
everything that I've heard you say about Susie and then I saw that footage and I was like
she's not really letting anybody fuck with Kail in this situation which is interesting too because
first of all Susie never stuck up for me but secondly the way that Joe's parents allowed him
to just act like that that was his house and also to act like I cheated on him people to this day
believe that I cheated on Joe yes I thought you cheated on Jordan with Joe I did
I cheated on Jordan with Joe, but because Joe and I were not together when I started dating Jordan and I was still living in that house, it was messy.
But like, Joe and I were not together.
But wasn't he saying somebody else?
Yeah.
He actually cheated on me.
But for some reason, I get the rap that I cheated on him and I didn't.
Like, I think I've been pretty honest about who I've cheated on and who I haven't.
And he's not one of them.
So I don't.

have heard that you guys love the flow and what we do and just get on here and talk shit every
single week about nonsense. But we are going to do some new segments. And,
And we would love to get your feedback on each of these segments and what you like and what you don't constructively.
We are also doing audience write-ins.
So we do have an email for you to be able to write in.
I do believe that we are going to set up a voicemail for you guys to be able to call in.
And we will not be playing the voicemails on the podcast because there is an audio issue.
and it affects the quality of the show.
But we will be using some of those voicemails that you guys call in.
You'll be able to see those on our socials where we're going to play them.
And then also we're going to use that to kind of get into the conversations that you want us to get into.
We are going to start off with highs, lows, and woe moments for the week.
So what was your best moment of the week?
Best moment.
I took the triplets.
We'll call them the triplets still.
I don't think I'll ever get over it.
And Lux and Creed to the beach.
But it was the baby's first time at the beach.
That's so cute.
And Lux and Creed are such water babies that they just want to be.
It doesn't matter how cold the water is.
They're in it.
Yeah.
So taking them to the beach and having the babies have their first time, I loved that.
I think that was like the best moment.
Okay.
My best moment of the week was taking Jackson's school supply shopping, and it's so interesting to watch a boy school supply shop in comparison to how I school supplied shop.
I think type A boys going the extra mile for school supplies are few and far between.
Because if it was up to Lincoln, he'd go get a notebook and a pencil and call it a day.
And I think Jackson would probably do that too, but I have laid down the law in advance of school starting.
I regularly go through backpack.
Do you go through backpack?
Yes.
Okay.
And he asked me why I did that.
And I said, well, number one, it looks like a slob kebab lives in that backpack.
Like, why is everything out of order?
So he was like, well, if you take me to get the things that I want, then I'll keep it organized.
And I'm like, that could have been a bamboozle.
Could have.
But he was very diligent in the school supply shopping.
Now will the school supplies be used?
Possibly not.
One might not know.
But I will be finding out, I'm sure.
We go back to school significantly after you, like a significant amount of time after you guys.
We don't go back until like the eighth or the ninth of September.
we I'm not we're going to the goodwill first to check school supplies why would goodwill have school supplies
I saw a TikTok of the amount of brand new unopened unused school supplies really will in bags like gallon
zip block bags wow I'm not first of all I want to go through everything we already have because I buy so
much oversupply I'm going to go through all that normally I just keep adding on to it and I'm not doing that
this year. And I'm also not buying new backpacks. You better rotate, switch with your brother, trade,
ask Elliot for an old one. You're not getting, because the backpacks that we've bought are so
expensive and they're, all I did, all I had to do is wash them. Remember when you told me that
you had never washed a backpack before? Yep, I do now regularly. And it, it like literally saves them.
They look brand new. I know. So I'm not, I told them, I said, you better, because we have
Jordan sprayground Nike um all kinds of back trade with your brother remember when we were in school
and it was like the cool thing to have the l l bean backpack with the monogram on it I never was that
just in the south that was rich people well I got the l l l bean back L L L bean backpack and mine always
had my monogram on it and honey I was taking care of it okay
Okay. I was, I did not have like bins on my folders. Everything was pristine in my backpack. If you went
through Jackson's backpack, you would ask if there had been rats living in there. Sounds like
Lincoln. And I don't understand it. I'm like, how do you, how do you function in this mess?
Listen, but you know what's interesting though? Elliot is very type A about school. I don't understand his
organization system. Because it doesn't work for you? It doesn't work for me. It's not organized.
It's organized for him. So like it looks put together, but like when I go through it, I don't
understand it. You're like this makes no sense to me. And then you have me who I barely got through
high school, not because I'm dumb, but because I had put zero effort in. My organization skills,
top tier, my note taking top tier. Did I ever look back at them and do anything with the work?
Absolutely not. So it looked like a type A person, probably like what you're
describing but I didn't do shit with it see all my stuff and remember like the um little circles
if your paper like the three ring and if they ripped you put the stickers the stickers on it
oh honey I had all the stickers oh my stuff you did not see a page hanging out but after I took those
notes I never opened it again that's so crazy to me but if I went to college right now I'd make the
dean's list I love that for you and you're your big adult age
Okay, worst moment of the week?
I'd say the worst moment was, it was an eye opening, but it sucks, like, wrapping my head around all of the celiac stuff.
I would say it's answers.
So there's a silver lining, but the worst was like how long it will take to stabilize, how much of a lifestyle change.
And obviously, there are people that are much sicker than I am, but it still sucks.
Like, it's still going to change my life.
It will change a lot.
Mm-hmm.
Let me see. My worst moment of the week was leaving my hair appointment and being nose to nose with my ex and our vehicles. That was my worst moment.
It probably took your breath away. Not in a good way. Like asshole in my throat. I have never felt that weird of a feeling and like panic.
ever and in those moments there really is no power in the pause so like that moment could have gone
i was driving no i know but like you couldn't have prepared like you wouldn't have been able to prepare
yourself if something were to like if he was to get out of the car like stop or whatever like do you
know what i'm saying so that's hard um you know when you have just like an like instinctive reaction
to something it's like oh i know that person beep beep scoot along yep i was beep beep
because it was just like like it was just like a natural yeah autopilot yeah um that was probably my
worst moment of the week and then also my hydrangeot tree dying oh no why how did it die
i think it's just been so hot and then we didn't have a whole ton of water and so i think it it
just it passed away unfortunately it passed away i understand that sucks i actually had one of my
Green Giants passed away as well.
Won't say it was the worst moment, but, you know.
Would you like to introduce our next segment?
Small town gossip.
This is a new segment.
It's called Small Town Gossip.
We're going to tell you guys something like, I don't know,
HOA feuds.
We've heard Lindsay's horror stories with the HOA, okay?
Church gossip.
I don't go to church, but I want to hear church gossip.
Okay?
I do.
I want to hear church gossip.
I want to hear about long running family beefs.
I don't have any that I know of, but maybe you do.
I would love for you guys to get our email and we will make sure that it's posted every
single place that you can follow us.
So whether that's on Facebook or whether that's on Instagram or it will be in the podcast
description.
You can go on there and find our email.
We want you guys to submit your small.
town gossip. Even if you don't live in a small town, everybody's town's small. Well, I live in the
smallest town in Delaware. Do you want to guess what the population is of Hartley, Delaware?
10,000. Try again. Higher or lower? Lower.
5,000. Lower.
2,000. Lower. There's no possible way. Okay. Keep going. 1,000. The population.
of my town is 73.
73 people?
And I'm nine of them.
Wow.
So there's a lot of small town stuff that goes on.
Yeah, we just got a cop.
Wait, seriously?
Yes.
Wow.
Okay, so we want you guys to send in your small town drama,
HOA sagas, if you've got them,
your neighbor that you don't like and wish you had an HOA.
diner and local business chaos would be great
multi-generational family feuds
anything with like an actual lore is what we're trying to get into you know
yeah I'll tell you what Ike and I went to Mod Texas
and I don't know what the population is there but it was
it felt even less populated than Hartley Delaware like
Hartley is 73 people. Mod, Texas must be 70.
Why do you all even have stores for 73 people?
Well, it's connected to other towns.
But like, are the stores that you go to in your town or you go to another town?
Usually, well, so both.
We have a family dollar and we have a DG market.
So like if we need butter, we just run down to the market.
Okay.
But if we want to go to Walmart Target, Acme,
food buying. We're driving 25, 30 minutes. Oh, wow. Okay. Yeah. See that. I'm not trying to do all that.
No, that's why we want to move. So if you guys want to submit anything to us, you can email us at info at coffeeconvospodcast.com.
We will be talking about all of this stuff anonymously. So you can request us to share your story.
and we will either change names or any type of identifying details or if you would like to change the
names whenever you submit it. We just want to make sure that all the people that are,
all the people that are involved are protected. This week's story, it is anonymous, as we said.
But we know this person. But we know this person. Go ahead, Kiel.
my parents moved into their current house in 2020 the same week the pandemic started i was newly 18 at the time with two older siblings already grown up and out of the house
we had lived in one house my whole life and my parents wanted a fresh start in a more quiet neighborhood
we moved into our new home and instantly loved the area it was essentially inside of a state park so it was quiet
and very small and the whole neighborhood being about four cul-de-sacs my parents were on the older side compared to the couples around us
across the street there was a couple with two elementary school-aged kids and
next door was the same.
My dad became fast friends with the men in the neighborhood regardless of the slight age
gap and this friend group included the man across the street but we'll call him
Willie.
Willie was a clean-cut man with a nice car, a nice house, and very nice, profitable life.
When we moved in, I met Willie's kids and one of the first things they said to me was
that their dad worked for a gaming company and created a game that is very recognizable.
Think Candy Crush, though it's not that game.
Oh, wow.
Did you read what?
About a year later, we find out that Willie and his wife were getting a divorce.
She moved out leaving Willie the house with their dog.
He had the kids on and off, but mostly was alone.
My parents started to notice he would have girlfriends coming and going and often a good deal younger than him.
They started to notice Willie was home much more often and his hair was growing out as well as his beard.
He was getting a bit more disheveled every time they saw him.
My parents gathered that throughout the past couple years,
Willie seemingly stopped working.
Basically, the only time my parents saw Willie for a couple of years was when he was walking his dog.
Then my parents started to notice that Willie was having gatherings at his house.
They started off kind of small, just a couple of cars, people coming and going.
They noticed that people would occasionally carry drums.
So they assumed it was like a drum circle of sorts.
Like a band?
Yeah, like a drum line.
A drum line.
Somebody call Nick Cannon.
On a night where there was no gathering, my dad noticed that Willie's dog had gotten out.
He was able to catch her luckily and brought her over to return him to Willie, to return her to Willie.
He knocked on the door and rang the doorbell but got no answer.
Willie's car was there, so my dad was confused why no one would notice that the dog got out or why no one was coming to the door.
My dad tried the door handle and it opened right up.
He went into the house and yelled for Willie but got no response.
As my dad brought the dog inside, he looked around and saw that Willie's house was immense.
There was stuff everywhere and just so not buttoned up like a CFO when he moved in.
My dad didn't know where Willie was, so he left the dog inside and locked the door after himself.
He called and texted Willie to let him know the dog was returned.
My parents don't really talk to Willie much anymore, but the gatherings have continued and gotten bigger and bigger every time.
Sometimes there are Sundays, sometimes they are on Sundays and sometimes they are random days of the week.
Sometimes multiple gatherings a week.
my parents jokingly call them cult meetings as they have no idea what these meetings are about
they're still happening which is why the story is anonymous my parents have no idea about my parents
have no idea what this is about and at this point don't really want to know I would love to know
it kind of sounds like a like swingers ring you know like like where they're probably
just going over there and fucking and ducking yeah but also like is he still the CFO of this company
like this gaming company?
Like do we know if he's still the CFO?
You and I have talked about this before,
but like the thoughts of different,
like people that like live close to you
and you all live like in such close proximity,
but lives are like so vastly different.
If I really start going down the rabbit hole of that,
I freak myself out and I want to move to the woods.
Yeah.
No, because you're like, how do these people live?
kind of like,
Ike and I talked about
Elizabeth Ciders
on one of the episodes
of coffee combos
and they had 16 children
in one room
and she was forced to give birth
back to back to back to back to back
to back.
And she was like 15 years old.
Wait, is she the one that's in jail now?
I'm pretty sure she's in jail.
I don't think she should be in jail either.
That's not going to solve her problems.
It's going to make her worse.
But I digress.
The point is that like there are people like that
that live next to us
and we have no idea.
It's so interesting in this story.
She was talking about how like everything kind of got disheveled.
And I'm assuming that that happened after the divorce.
I feel like that's so typical for men whenever they go through a divorce.
They grow their hair out.
They get a beard.
Their houses are disgusting.
Yeah.
Their complete schedule changes.
Like you don't even know this human being anymore.
I mean, I'm not talking about anybody specifically.
but if I was, it would be will.
Men feel it different.
Like men feel the breakup after the breakup.
Women feel it in the breakup.
Women feel the breakup inside the relationship and they don't leave until they're all the way done.
Not saying that it's a smooth transition.
But I think men feel the breakup after the fact.
That's my opinion.
I wholeheartedly believe that.
By the time I filed, I was done for a long time.
And by the time I filed, he was just started.
to process the reality that that's what we were doing. And men and women handle it so different. I was like,
oh, this is going to be just my house and everything's going to be perfect. And I'm going to organize
everything and it's going to be great. And I'm going to go get hair extensions. And I'm going to take a
trip to the beach and I'm going to start going to dinner with my girlfriends. And then you've got
a man on the other end who's growing his hair out and looks like he hasn't found a razor in the past
three years.
Yeah.
And they were blindsided by the divorce also.
Blindsided.
Had never seen it coming.
Are you blindsided or just blind?
Probably just blind.
I also think that this is just like very interesting to me that these gatherings happen in such
random times.
And with a drum line.
They didn't say a drum line, Kail.
It said it said that it was noticed that people would occasionally
carry drums so they assumed it was like a drum circle of sorts yeah so like so a drum line
no kale like a drum line is like what plays at college football games so what the fuck is a drum circle
well i don't know what that is either but i'm my mind would go people were getting out with drums
that they were practicing music so a drum line that is not a drum line or drum sticks and we're
having a barbecue. Like there's no in between here. But I also think it's just really weird that
we know who wrote this in, but I don't think that I would ever ring somebody's doorbell and check
to see if your door was unlocked and go in. I would. Well, I know you would. If my neighbor's dog got
out, something's wrong. So I need to go put the dog back in. I wouldn't. One time somebody's goat got
out in the road in Hartley. And I tried to put the goat back. And then,
somebody drove by me and was like it gets out all the time just leave it i don't know i'm just thinking
like this sounds like a neighborhood type situation like a legitimate neighborhood we're not talking
about delaware like where we're living on the land there's a book that i read hold on i need to pull it up
really fast i think it's called such a quiet place it's giving that it's such a book about i actually
really liked it was a good like palette cleanser of a book like of a thriller yeah such a quiet place by
Megan Miranda and it's kind of like in a neighborhood. It's like small town gossip stuff.
So if you like drama like this, such a, I loved it. It was, it's, it's giving Frida.
So like if you need a quick palette cleanser, a super quick thriller, read such a quiet place.
I'll, I'll have it linked in the in the video or I'll have it linked in the description.
Those that are listening, do we like neighborhoods or do we like being out on our own? Because I'm 50, 50 on it.
I'm so 50-50 on this and part of me loves being out in the country.
Yeah.
But the other part of me is like I would love for my kids to have neighborhood kids to play with.
So is there a way to have both?
No.
Because when we move, I'm trying to figure out how do we take the farm?
And if we take the farm, we have to live in the country because I can't have a highland cow in a cul-de-sac with an HOA.
Right?
No, you can't.
So I need to figure out how to have the best of both worlds.
I kind of live in the best of both worlds, but we're not friends with our neighbors.
If I was, the kids could play together.
Your neighbor's Elijah.
Yeah, I also have two neighbors across the street.
Oh, okay.
Your neighbor's Elijah.
Okay, so my neighborhood, I feel like y'all have been there.
I feel like I kind of have a little bit of the best of both worlds because I'm tucked away, like, on my lot.
And you don't necessarily, like, have to be right up on top of your neighbors, which I,
love but then I also wish that I lived in the woods like surrounded by absolutely nothing.
But then also before I left, I put my trash cans out and I called my lovely neighbor.
She's in her 60s.
And I was like, hey, can you just make sure that you like pull my trash cans up so I don't get
flagged by the HOA?
And she's like, sure.
Like it's nice for stuff like that.
Fair.
Love that.
You know what I mean?
Yeah.
I think there's pros and cons for both.
I just, I'm trying to, I'm not making any decisions until the judge.
makes a decision but I that's like what something I have to consider is like is there a way to have
both and if I could have a situation like where I live now that would be ideal because it's kind of
there are neighbors across the street that have kids we just don't so I'm going to tell you a crazy
story before we end this the neighborhood that Will and I lived in um prior it was the house that
we bought prior to going through divorce there was some weird shit that happened in that
neighborhood. And when I tell you, did I ever tell you that I had a stalker from North Carolina
that tried to get me on a plane, like a private plane and it was supposed to be for like a NASCAR race?
Vaguely familiar. Vagely familiar. You know NASCAR does, it's in Delaware in September.
That makes sense. So you were just, they were just trying to get you to me. That's all.
No, Kiel. This was years ago. And this man was so.
creepy and it was when I was still traveling for Chris Lino's best. So he picked up on my habits.
He was stalking my house and picked up on my habits of like when I would come and when I would go.
And my neighbor was a firefighter at the time. And so he would like watch the road and be able to
report stuff to me. And this man was stalking me for a period of time that I wasn't even aware of.
And it was back when I was like really active on Twitter and he would post like, hey, I
all you driving and he would use weird words like southbound on whatever highway and I'm like okay
this is getting really weird so this happens well then a couple of weeks later I go to pull out of
my neighborhood and I see the local SWAT team is at the house adjacent to me and it was some people
they were they were older and their son had fled there he was like a fugitive and the SWAT team
came to get him from there.
There was a pedophile that lived in my neighborhood.
And then our AC went out one time, and there was a couple that lived in there that had lots of children.
And I asked if he could come.
He was like an HVAC person.
And I asked if you could come and check our AC.
And then the next thing I know, he had beat the shit out of his wife in our neighborhood.
It's like you really don't know what you live next to.
That's terrifying. That's literally terrifying.
And this was all in one neighborhood. Needless to say, I don't live there anymore.
Thank God. Thank Rihanna.
Thank Rihanna. On a more positive note, what made you smile this week?
What made me smile this week was I got to come to Charleston to see you and Ike. I'm going to get to go to Charlotte.
I hung out with Hunter, for those of you who Hunter is, he's my.
assistant. I hung out at his sister's house and we did a pool night and Italian food and it was great.
And I feel like I'm just like easing into like my soft girl era, you know? As you should. As you should.
So those things made me smile. A couple things made me smile. Was it today or just at it? Um, well, I laughed when I saw Ike at the airport picking me up. He was waiting for my luggage and I laughed because he didn't have socks on with his shoes. And then I go outside and you,
are in the car with no socks on with shoes. And I laughed because you were just playing all of the best
2000s jams. And I looked at Ike and I was like, I am too tired for this, but I laughed.
You did laugh. And it was a good time. It made it worth the time. You know what I mean?
I was worried because I had told him ahead of time. I was like, I am not in the mood. I'm not hungry.
I mean, I'm not in the mood. I'm hungry. I've, you know, been trying to handle the kids.
My friend was having a birthday party at my house and I had to leave. And like, that didn't stress me out.
but it was just like being outside in the heat.
How do you do that?
Like let people just throw parties at your house and you're not even there.
Well, no, it started while I was there.
Yeah, but when you leave, that means everybody leaves.
No, because no.
