We learn that Lindsie is a lover of guac and chips, Kail will never pick in the dogs vs cats,... and no one cares for the farmhouse style/decor anymore. Kail also argues that Highschool relationships DO in fact count, all waters do NOT taste the same and Lindsie DOES NOT like ketchup... Starting point is 00:00:00 I hate gift giving and receiving receiving gifts is so weird. What do you say? Thank you? This is coffee convos with Kale Lowry and Lindsay Chrisley. I really want you to be in your feels Kale That does not interest me whatsoever. I feel very attacked by you a spirited discussion about motherhood friendship Family and life in the public eye. I'm just not with the fakery anymore. There's a fakery bakery around here. Here's Kale and Lindsay Hello coffee convos. What up kitty gang? Good morning coffee convos podcast. I look like morning. I Went to bed last night got home from a dinner usually Jackson's babysitter comes and Stays with him for a couple of hours on like Wednesday or Thursday and that gives me a
Starting point is 00:00:47 little Personal time because I don't have anybody like around me like family or anything to help so She comes on one of those days a week And then I'll like go do a dinner or go walk with a girlfriend or just like something not kid related Which is really nice But I came home and immediately when I walked in the door the sitter was like Jackson said he is not feeling well and I was like, oh good cuz like I have a lot to do still this week and
Starting point is 00:01:18 Will's not here. So this is great. So put him in the shower His ears were like beet red. His face was beet red. I was like, I don't know. Maybe he's like getting a fever or something So put him in the shower put him in the bed and he slept until nine o'clock this morning. So oh bless his heart He doesn't feel good at all at all Um, and then I was like, you know what? I have an appointment had to move an appointment From yesterday to today because my calendar didn't frickin sink for like my personal and my work stuff So, yeah, yeah, yeah, I was supposed to go and get my eyelashes tinted and lifted and then my brows done And miss that appointment. So now I have to do that today. I'm just like
Starting point is 00:02:04 Why is life like this? I mean, obviously there could be way worse problems Then I left in a brow tint, but like whatever So I was gonna ask you when you go to the appointments like that Are you the type of person that gets like full-blown ready to go? to appointments like the doctor the dentist Hair appointment like, you know, you see all these ladies that are full hair and makeup like They just look like all glammed up and then you see me looking like this No, I actually go like that also to those appointments like when I went to the dentist most recently
Starting point is 00:02:47 I didn't wear any makeup because I knew my mouth would be wide the fuck open and like You know, they just like pull on your cheeks and they're resting their hands on there on your cheeks and stuff So I'm like, I'm not gonna do makeup for that unless I'm already in makeup for something like this Or if I have a shoot or something but nine times out of ten. I'm not Because in doctor's offices, you still have to wear masks here, too So like I'm not gonna put makeup on to just wear a mask into a doctor's office You know what I mean? So like I don't really get ready for those appointments and further I typically don't actually do my hair and makeup for like eyebrow appointments and stuff or my lash appointments because
Starting point is 00:03:21 Same thing even my hair because when I get my hair done When they wash the hair like all of this part comes off in like the shampoo bowl. Have you not seen those like Memes where it's like the girls with with their makeup like the solid line that goes across. Have you seen them? No, but that's exactly why I typically make up to those either. Well, okay So with my hair appointments, my hair is always like the dirtiest that it has ever been when I go in there And they probably think that like I am the nastiest No person ever Also, my doctor probably just thinks like I'm an ugly troll because I look like this every time I go and I'm like
Starting point is 00:04:02 I'm just not getting ready for this like to your point if I'm wearing a mask or my face is being touched or Like my makeup is gonna come off like what what is the point? I would rather be like a skin care queen and Know that like I did that whole part and I didn't waste a day of makeup I didn't waste that time and my skin's breathing. So that's what it's doing today. I put on a bunch of vitamin C I put on moisturizer. I put on an under eye cream and this lip mask and I Have a bunch of things to say about this because is that the lineage one? Yeah, and people were like it's expensive It is but it's worth it and I have tried like a couple of dupes that were like said dupes
Starting point is 00:04:45 They're not dupes like I actually a dupe is something that is as good as The product and my product like the yeah that one I'm obsessed with but I hate putting it on my finger So I found it in a tube. I know so I saw that you had the the one in the tube You were doing like a video or something like that with the one in the tube and I didn't know that they Had that I'm just strolling around with this and I remember when you used to wear like really long and like obnoxious nails Do you remember that phase you went through? Oh, I remember that phase very well And like you would go into pods and like use the top of your fingernail of my nail get it I feel like you every time I do that with this pod
Starting point is 00:05:29 Because I love to do that. Oh, you call it a pod or a pot like a pod a pod like a pod of Lip mask lip mask. Yeah, they have that and they have I also when I started using that I didn't know they had other like flavors or whatever other me either. I didn't know either and they do and then Once I found it in a tube, but it was a game-changer for me But yeah, I absolutely love that product actually love all of the Laneige products like they're pretty good same So tell me what's going on this morning outside of I saw you were also drinking an alani and I need to tell you That I was sitting somewhere. I forget where it was, but it was like in a point Oh, I took Jackson to get his hair cut and there was this man that was sitting there
Starting point is 00:06:12 And he looked over and he had the most shocked look on his face like he had seen a ghost And I was like, I'm sorry that I'm so ugly, but like what like why is he looking at me like this? And He was like ma'am like I'm not like trying to aggravate your day or anything He was like, but I honestly thought that you were drinking beer because I had The cozy thing over. Yes. Yeah. Yes, and I swear there's no better brand than the brumate Is that a brumate? It's an old one because alani also sent me one of those for these I have the alani one too. I always just go back to the brumate
Starting point is 00:06:51 But how do you know like that? How did you know that the alani cans would fit in the brumate one sweetheart because if you were a white claw drinker Um a truly drinker. Are these the same type of cans? Oh, okay. Yeah, they um when they started making those types of cans with for alcoholic beverages And they came out with a brumate and then alani was like so smart to do it too Yeah, I was like Bitch, you got me sold Like I am sold, but this is that my favorite flavor and the one you're drinking right now. I hate it
Starting point is 00:07:25 What flavor do you have berry breeze the breeze berry? Yeah, sorry. Okay. I I have not had a flavor So it's weird because when I first first first tried alani I thought they were too sweet. Yeah, and I like couldn't I couldn't do it So I was just drinking coffee and then out of nowhere. I just made the switch I started drinking them and I was like wow this isn't too sweet So I don't know if it was like
Starting point is 00:07:47 Was I pregnant with creed? Maybe I don't know like, you know pregnancy does weird things to you. Yeah Um, but then out of nowhere I just started like actually drinking them and now I literally leave one I bring two with me in the morning Only because I leave one in the car in the event that I forget one the next day Oh, I always have one. Yeah, I'm addicted. Will you drink them hot? No, but it's cold outside still here. So um, it's usually pretty cold when I get in the car. Um, I Sometimes will do a two alani day And you know that the day is going to be real shit when I open that second can
Starting point is 00:08:24 Like you know that that's the point that it's at. Yeah At least it's not an alcoholic beverage. Okay. So we have a bunch of unpopular opinions that our listeners wanted us to debate Um, so I want to get started on them. The first one's very offensive to me just because I'm from the south and This is what you grow up Drinking this is always on your table. You always have like a freshie for every meal Like a fresh it's fresh brewed like every meal for dinner
Starting point is 00:09:01 Um, it's always a nanny's fridge Don't mess with me and that is sweet tea And this person says sweet tea is trash I am one of the newer Where sweet tea is newer to me because I'm in the north from Pennsylvania and then Delaware So I didn't actually like hear about sweet tea or try sweet tea until I was in college Did you feel like it was life-changing for you when you did? Oh, absolutely. I love it. I love sweet tea
Starting point is 00:09:32 And this is also another debate that I debate with literally everyone that I know Um, and that is is chick-fil-a sweet tea better than mcdonald's and in my opinion, absolutely not I don't think chick-fil-a sweet tea is sweet enough. I like a good like really sweet tea and Ma'am that is mcdonald's like it just hits so hard. It is so good like Oh my god, it is so good with like extra ice that is the best Sweet tea ever. I don't think I've ever had chick-fil-a sweet tea I know I've had mcdonald's sweet tea and I thought it was really good. I think that I actually think that's where I first had
Starting point is 00:10:11 Sweet tea. Oh god, it is it is so good. I love a good like now if it is not brood, right? um, and you're not using the right tea bags, then I am pissed off like Will grew up his mom used louisian or something like that tea bags and I was like that's wrong You're like, I can't drink this. This is um, this is offensive to what I know about sweet tea. That's a different kind of south and like that's not how I grew up like we grew up on liptin and That is what we will be using in this household. Um Will was a big sweet tea drinker for the later part of our marriage
Starting point is 00:10:49 He went from dr. Pepper cut the dr. Pepper out and then just started drinking sweet tea And I was like you do realize that this is probably like not any better, but whatever Um, just I love it. I think it goes with every meal. I think it is a Absolute southern staple. If you're from the south and you don't like sweet tea. I am alarmed by you I will say my biological mom's Husband so my stepdad Um, he is from midwest And when I first met him, she would like brew him on sweet tea
Starting point is 00:11:19 So she would have like one thing of sweet tea and then one thing of unsweet tea and I hated him for it He said I hated him for my mom was a sweet an unsweet tea drinker But again, I don't think that my mom had ever heard of like sweet tea at that time because we I actually buy sweet tea now Like there's I have um, don't tell me you got my lows I don't even know what that is. I got um No, I got the Something peak. Oh Um, it is called
Starting point is 00:11:49 Yeah, um, you know Gold yeah, um gold peak gold. Yeah, gold peak. Yeah, so I have the sweet tea lebanade and the regular sweet tea and I love both of them Oh, well, I love both of them. I thought wait, should I do a sweet tea? Um video of like how to make absolutely You need to like get one from Chick-fil-a and mcdonald's and then like a store-bought one and then Do a video on tiktok people will probably you'll probably go viral. Okay. Well, I will do that I also will say if you have publics, which I know that you don't but public's store brand sweet tea They brew it like fresh there. That's a really good alternative
Starting point is 00:12:27 Chick-fil-a the sweet tea is good. It's just not as good as mcdonald's mcdonald's is superior Um, and also I know how to make sweet tea So maybe I'll do like a little sweet tea video Post a recipe for you guys for you to also have the best sweet tea ever Coffee commas podcast is brought to you by progressive insurance. Starting point is 00:13:38 Okay, the second one is also Did someone just do this to offend me personally because I think Kristen made these up because nobody's actually saying these things I feel like she did this because she knows that these are things that we like or we don't Okay, this one says Pickles are the most disgusting thing ever invented and that is just blatantly a lie And whoever said that is literally going to bust the gates of hell wide open But not the gates of hell. I love pickles. Um, I'm not a super fan of like the really really garlicky homemade ones Those are not my favorite. Um, I love a good deal a kosher deal. I love the big ones you can get at the farmers market here
Starting point is 00:14:24 Um, I love pickles like I just love pickles So I love pickles so much that when suburban dad and I went on our first trip together to the beach You know, like you'll be driving to the beach and you'll see these little stands on the side of the road and They're cooking like bold peanuts and they've got like canned stuff, whatever Oh, yes, ma'am like got multiple jars of pickles for those people who homemade them because I'm Lazy as fucking like I'm not going to do that, but I'm glad that they did because I thoroughly enjoyed them Um, what I will say though is I do not like pickles on things Oh, so like I like playing but not like I would never put a pickle on a hamburger
Starting point is 00:15:05 Oh, see I love extra pickles on my hamburgers, but you probably like it for the crunch Yeah, and see I like the lettuce for the crunch for that. I don't like the mix I think it's because Pickles have like a juice like if I go to Chick-fil-A for example And order a chicken sandwich, which I will do that like randomly on occasion I always get the pickle on the side not on the bread because I can taste like that pickle juice Once it hits the bread and it just like changes the whole game Yeah, I don't I don't like warm pickles like the pickles on the chicken the Chick-fil-A sandwiches kind of irritate me because
Starting point is 00:15:41 The pickles are hot. Yeah, I like cold pickles, too Yeah, so like I I am a pickle person, but I'm not a hot pickle person Um, I like pickles in all ways. I am basically like Bubba Gump From Forrest Gump, isn't that who it is or Bubba? I know Bubba Gumps is a restaurant that's in New York Well, whatever Bubba from Forrest Gump, you know where he's like telling you all the ways that you can have shrimp That's me with pickles and I love them fried. Wait, didn't you try fried pickles with me for the first time? I did. Um, I don't remember if I was a fan of that or not
Starting point is 00:16:17 I feel like you weren't a fan of it. I don't think I was a fan of that again. It was hot Yeah, I don't like hot pickle and that's just not my thing, but number three Is avocado and guac is actually disgusting. I'm sorry, but whoever wrote this in has never had Good guac. Um, I could I could see why people don't like plain avocado the first time I ever ate avocado um, I was at my girlfriend's house in high school and her Mom is from Ecuador and they served like slices of avocado with their meals So when they served me dinner, there was slices of avocado and like I didn't want to be rude So I just like ate it anyway
Starting point is 00:16:58 I in high school did not love that because it was very plain and I feel like it was That was like the first around the first time we're like to me avocado was like this new thing and like Um, what is it called like a mainstream food item where like I think other countries been eating them for forever Um, that was like the first time I ever had it and I didn't love it and then I ate it anyway and then after that, um Same friend would season the guac and make guac for me and then I loved that and so then I was able I think regular plain avocado is like an acquired taste and you have to like build
Starting point is 00:17:34 Up to like it now. I love both. It's kind of like how I think of wine like I feel like you have to Learn how to eat it like I know a lot of people who um One person specifically actually I'll just say it suburban dad I always thought that when I saw him do this it was like weird, but I don't really think it's Weird again. I think it's an acquired tasting, but he'll eat plain avocado with like sriracha on it Uh-huh. Um, that actually sounds really good. I would never do
Starting point is 00:18:06 um And I also don't like the texture of plain avocado like in slices But I think the texture changes when it's mashed Yeah, and also when you add some seasonings to it for the guac. Yeah, like I'm a big fan of like a chunky guac and um Like some of my favorite guac is if you go to california, they probably have this other places But it's popular in like texas too, but They will literally bring like all the fresh ingredients out to the side table and make the guac like right there
Starting point is 00:18:41 Oh, I love that with fresh avocado like they're doing it all right there. So you see it all That's so good. And I love that's one of my like favorite snacks ever is to have Chips and guac. Yeah, I love it. It's so good. Um number four, you don't actually need to separate laundry and colors. Yes, you do Yes, I definitely went through my period where I was not separating and like It didn't damage my white clothes or my white towels my white sheets However, it did make them more dingy and I felt like it changed with brightness of the color So while I didn't have pink and red and blue and purple spots, it just made them dingy So I quickly went back to separating laundry. Um, I don't do my laundry now
Starting point is 00:19:23 But it does get separated before it gets done anytime that I see someone Um washing like all their clothes together. I just feel like they haven't graduated the mindset of college Like that's what I think of because that's what you do like in college You know, you just like throw all the shit in there and it's like hopefully it gets clean Um, I don't know. I grew up my parents are literal psycho like when I tell you you psycho pads about laundry And I think that it probably was an imprinting from my nanny on my dad And then when he and julia got married then he imprinted that shit on her and then
Starting point is 00:20:03 We all got imprinted on so Honestly, I would be like terrified to It would be the most weirdest thing for me to throw like all my stuff in there I would feel so out of sorts and like not really know how to fold that load of laundry I feel like that makes it like chaotic and Just crazy like you wash whites with whites and everything gets bleached Even if it says not to bleach it like you still use chlorox um
Starting point is 00:20:30 It's just crazy like my growing up. I don't know if your boys are like this or not, but Growing up my brothers all had like white underwear and so did my dad like they didn't have any other color underwear and they were Calvin Klein and I was talking to christen about this other day because I only wear Calvin Klein like boxer Like women's boxer brief things to bed. Yeah And I think it was because of an imprinting on From my dad because I always knew like him growing up wearing Calvin Klein
Starting point is 00:21:03 Then he had my brothers wearing Calvin Klein. They were all white underwear like boxer briefs And then when I got married to will then I just bought him Calvin Klein and I say all of that to say Because they had a separate load of laundry like just for their draws What? Yes, like just like just like white white underwear like Guys white underwear like they all are white and they all get bleached
Starting point is 00:21:29 Okay, I kind of love that idea just because I do have boys and like I don't know. I feel like maybe not everybody Not every man doesn't know how to wipe their ass, but just like You know, I think there's a higher risk With them not wiping thoroughly Um, then for a woman, you know what I mean? Like men just don't like they'd probably wipe their ass with a sock if they had to So like I just I really love that idea. That seems very like crazy to me But also it's a very good idea
Starting point is 00:21:58 So I'm gonna scrap the ethical's and I am gonna slowly transition to all white boxer briefs Yes, like I love that. It honestly is so So great. And if I had multiple boys a husband And multiple boys, I would also do that. I think that it's like a cleaner Yes, you know alternative, you know that their ass ain't dusty like It's just like a good vibe. But yeah, like everything white always got bleached growing up. Um, I still Love the smell of bleach. I have heard rumors. I have heard rumors though
Starting point is 00:22:34 That when you go to like a hotel or somewhere Like a resort or whatever if it smells like bleach that that should be considered like a red flag that they're like masking something Um with the smell of bleach and I don't know. I have to find like the tick tock because I saw it Um, I don't know if that's true or not. I just feel like masking something remember when you told me that you Like the smell like when you leave. So when you go on your trip to tiley and I guarantee you you will go around your house and pour Pine saw and all your toilets Yes, I will. Okay. And when I just said toilet, I have to ask you this
Starting point is 00:23:14 Have you ever heard somebody call it a commode? Yes. I feel like I've heard you call it that I feel like my nanny calls it that like a commode and I'm just like, why is it that? Why is it like why do we call it commode and toilet or the john or the Throne No, kyle. That's just like slang. I feel like the most common ones are like toilet or commode Toilet. It's a toilet toilet Toilet that no, it's like toiletry bag. No toiletry bag. Bye next
Starting point is 00:23:46 Okay, dogs are superior to cats. Um, I don't agree with that one that one very much depends on the person because Dogs are very much high maintenance where cats are not so I can't say that dogs are superior I have both and I love both But I cannot say that one is superior than the other. It depends on the person's personality. Okay I think that most people would say I think there are more Dog people out there than there are cat people like I would be interested to pull Like I'm gonna pull it. Are you a cat person or are you a dog person? Then I bet most people are more like dog people
Starting point is 00:24:27 But I will say I think you're on to something with this cat thing because The two dogs that I have in my family dela and georgia One is very cat-like and one is very dog-like Having both of them in my house The preferred is definitely the cat-like dog versus the dog-like dog. Okay, so So I'm just pulling right now dogs or cats. I just don't think that it is but I will say Cats are just like suspicious creatures You know, like they just when I look at a cat. I immediately think I'm like, that's us
Starting point is 00:25:05 That's us. Okay. I definitely think so the thing about dogs is that they're loyal and they for they're just forgiving and they're like a man's best friend truly But cats are very much like independent and they come get attention from you when they feel like it on their own time Or there are some cats that are just like super overly cuddly all the time And I again, I think they're both Great for certain people. Um I myself love my dogs, but I think if I I never want any more animals ever again But if I say that and then you get more animals, I know, right?
Starting point is 00:25:43 Um, I Cats you just they're less maintenance. They're less work. They're less they're and they're I don't know I can confidently tell you that when Eventually george is only a year old but like when eventually something happens to the queen um There will be no more dogs in my house because I have realized in my Singleness that I very much like just being able to kind of like go and do whatever I want to do
Starting point is 00:26:15 And not have to be like a slave to coming back home okay, yeah, and It's not even like the stuff that I do is like chaotic It's just like I don't want her in the crate for a very long time So then I'll leave and I'll go and do like a lunch But then I want to go walk but then I'm like, oh crap Like I need to go and let the dog out and I need to do this and I need to feed her And then it's just like chaotic. So well, you could take her on the walk with you
Starting point is 00:26:40 Well, yeah, but then let's say I'm going on a walk with my girlfriend and like our little downtown area There's a walking path, but then when you come back up if it's like a weekend like a Sunday fun day or you know, it's like Saturday Let's just play it like it's in the fall and there's a college football game going on Oh, you can't take her that then I'm not gonna take her because I'm gonna want to go and you know, like throw a couple back with my friends Throw a couple back. No big deal. You know and then yeah, no that makes sense I don't want rando strangers Like touching my dog. Is that another weird thing about me? Like I don't like cutting my dog. I feel like
Starting point is 00:27:19 dog people love Dogs and other dog people like that's like a thing So maybe I'm just like not a normal dog person or a dog person at all Yeah, I um I'm not into it. I love I I've taken my dogs to like lows and stuff and like I don't know. I don't really like to make small talk. So like I don't need you to tell me how pretty my dog is Like I know how great they are and I don't Want to talk to you about dogs because like I don't care about your dog
Starting point is 00:27:48 So it's nice that you care about my dogs, but I don't like your dogs and I don't care about your dog It's like people Okay, so I feel like I'm also one of these people like I like my friends kids And my kid but like I don't like other kids. Yeah, same the same So I want to just tell you guys that on this journey of like saving money and eating better It's really frustrating when you grab something healthy from the store or Anywhere that you are and you've learned that it's actually not healthy And so we are able to change that with IQ bar. Okay. This is a big a big one for me Takeout food lowers the quality of the food. It tastes better at the restaurant. Absolutely. That is true 100% Yes, and I almost feel like takeout food reminds me of just like leftovers Yeah, I agree with that. There's very few Restaurants that I feel like have mastered takeout and keeping it fresh
Starting point is 00:30:24 um Yeah, I mean I I I have gone to Places and gotten takeout that is literally tastes nothing like it does in the restaurant at all. So um If you guys are listening and have any recommendations for what we should try takeout that is actually just as good as in the restaurant Please let us know because I would love to do like a review or like a video of us like getting takeout from that place and then deciding if we think it's as good because I can't think of one restaurant that is The only thing That takeout I feel like
Starting point is 00:30:58 But again, it's not a restaurant is like if you get pizza delivery um places like Chipotle a salad from like Chick-fil-A Stuff like that a plate. Have you do y'all have cova there? No. Okay. It's like Mediterranean And it's like that sounds good. So I think places that have like bowls and stuff like that I can bring it home and it's going to taste just like what it would taste if I was sitting there eating it Okay, but when we're talking like
Starting point is 00:31:29 Mexican Chinese Italian like those things none of those are as good takeout as they are at the restaurant Oh 100% like if I got fajitas like last night I got fajitas for dinner at the restaurant And it comes out like on that piping hot skillet there's nothing better than that to be honest and And it would not taste like that at all if I did pick up order No, it would taste like it was you know how like if you microwave something instead of make it putting it in the oven and it like makes it um Like mushy or like, you know, yeah, it's like that
Starting point is 00:32:04 um, I'm distracted by the next um Unpopular opinion. I hate the next one. Um, I don't want to offend anyone listening But it literally makes me sick to look at it farmhouse style for decor is played out now Farmhouse was never in for me. I hated it from day one Um Farmhouse is not cute. It's never been cute. I don't know why it's cute to some people Um, especially people who like live in the city like that doesn't make sense to me
Starting point is 00:32:34 Um, I feel like farmhouse style is very much for people in like the midwest or people who live in like Texas like I could see why that's a style but bringing it to the east coast for I just I don't understand it Okay, so I went through the farmhouse phase. I think that it has its place It has its place. It definitely has its place but element of farmhouse like the the blown up like over farmhouse Stuff like where everything just literally looks like you live in a farmhouse, but you don't It's not cute. Like I don't I don't like that
Starting point is 00:33:09 But there are some elements of farmhouse that I like. I do think that it is very played out because I think that The fad like came in it's almost like Um, did farmhouse was that the style that like brought white kitchens back? I believe so and I think Chip Joanna Gaines were the ones that kind of yeah, yeah, they like brought farmhouse to mainstream interior design and I do think that if executed properly and tastefully and
Starting point is 00:33:45 just like Like small elements of farmhouse is fine. I just don't like like the over Done farmhouse and I outgrew That style, but I love the fact that white kitchens are back like if farmhouse is the responsible party for bringing white Kitchens back then I love farmhouse for that because I have always loved A white kitchen. I do like a white kitchen. I think they're very I do personally think they're timeless and also very easy to clean um I know some people don't love them, but like to me it's just easier to like bleach everything and like clean it off than to
Starting point is 00:34:23 Like you don't I mean evidently we are just big Bleach people if anyone takes anything away from this episode. They know that we love bleach Okay, also, I feel like we're very negative about all of these things. There's nothing. There's been nothing that we love So the next one I'm very salty about. I don't know who wrote this, but if it whoever wrote this, I'm mad at you High school relationships don't count. I I don't agree with that What then what were they? because I feel like I learned
Starting point is 00:34:55 Even though my high school boyfriend wasn't in high school and he was my boyfriend Like he was in college and I didn't I never had like a boyfriend who was in high school when I was in high school Does that make sense? Yes, but I feel like I learned a lot from that relationship and um I got to learn all of those things while still under the roof with my parents and so My first I wouldn't say it was like really a heartbreak. I think that I thought it was a heartbreak Like at that time because I was just like sad
Starting point is 00:35:26 I think that I was more sad over losing the friendship By not being able to be friends with him anymore than I was over the actual relationship And just the fact that he like traveled with us and like did everything with my family Um, so I feel like I just learned So much from that relationship that brought me in to my college relationship. I had three significant relationships in high school one being the person that I lost my virginity to um
Starting point is 00:36:00 The relationship itself. I don't feel like was I mean he was my first serious boyfriend So I don't know. I I really feel like I loved him My second boyfriend. I was very very traumatizing for me and I ended up getting pregnant and happy to get an abortion Um, and so it very much counts in my life And then my third I ended up it was joe and I ended up getting pregnant and keeping the baby So even though I don't look at him as a relationship in my high like I don't Think of joe and think of the relationship. I think of joe and I think of my son's father So like in that aspect like I don't consider that relationship that relationship to count
Starting point is 00:36:37 But I very much like Matt passed away and like I'm more affected now by that relationship in high school than I was for the 10 years Before he passed away. Do you know what he means? Does that make sense? Yeah, like I'm more traumatized by it now and not necessarily from the trauma of their relationship But just like thinking about the fact that I had a relationship with this person. I was pregnant by this person He fought, you know, his demons his battles his whatever and now I think they very much it very much counts For some people really high school relationships. Well, I'm going to spill a little bit of tea here obviously very much counted for my
Starting point is 00:37:10 high school boyfriend because I don't know how I became blocked on social media platforms that didn't exist like while we were together or after we broke up But I was just like going down memory lane like years ago And I was like, oh wonder what like he's up to like wonder if he has kids like wonder if he's married like whatever So, you know, like how you just get nosy So I went to look him up and he didn't exist and I was like that's just weird like who does not have an instagram account
Starting point is 00:37:43 Or like who doesn't have like a facebook account or whatever. So I'm like, oh god. What if he died? So I tell my dad. I'm like, hey look This person up he looks him up and it pulls up right away and I'm like You are telling me that like I I am blocked on social media platforms that didn't even exist when we were together like that's just weird Like I guess he's still salty. Why didn't he lock your whole family? I guess I got blocked But you know what I'm going to say There was this because I've come up with my own theory on this
Starting point is 00:38:17 There was this scandal that I was involved in a couple of years ago. I think that we're all very aware of it um and That was at the time I got I believe that I was probably blocked and I'm going to assume that maybe there were some like searches or something and and maybe his wife saw it oh and then
Starting point is 00:38:42 Was required to block me. That's what I think got it. Okay. I mean, I definitely think that's very plausible So, um, but yes, I I think that high school relationships do count Um, I do too. The beach is overrated heat and sand. No, thanks. Um, this is a two-parter for me Uh, this is also a two-parter for me. I don't think that the beach is overrated It's like my most favorite place to be because I love the water and I love the ocean when I say I love the ocean I love to look at it. I love to walk by it. I don't like to be in it Um, I don't like temperatures that are excruciatingly hot and humid Um, California is probably my favorite weather because of the lack of humidity there
Starting point is 00:39:27 I don't want to be somewhere that is so hot that I'm just like miserable But I like to be at the beach by the pool The beach is hit or miss for me if there's kids if I have my kids with me and it's scorching hot and sticky and humid Um, and just like miserable outside of the water Definitely overrated don't want to go. Um, if it's like Not as humid more like a dry heat and we're not like sticking when we're walking. I'm good on that I love I love the beach my kids love the beach
Starting point is 00:39:58 um, I also Prefer like still water like around when we went to Jamaica the water like didn't move It was very still love beaches like that because I just feel I don't know, but I'm not going to go to like Delaware beaches or New Jersey beaches because that's just like Hot humid hot sand miserable sticky Not a good time. I I hate being sticky and I don't Love sand, but I also Don't hate it like it's not going to deter me from like taking a lounge chair down there and sitting under an umbrella by any means
Starting point is 00:40:34 but After I've been there for a couple of days and done, you know, the beach one or two days If I'm on a seven day vacation I'm at the pool the rest of the time like I'm not doing that every single day I do love to look at the water and I love when I'm on vacation to be able to open up like the balcony and be able To listen to the water and see it I'm also a big weirdo on this It doesn't matter if it is the lake or if it is the ocean if I cannot see my feet
Starting point is 00:41:02 I am not getting in not getting in agreed agree with you 100% Okay, putting ketchup on anything except for chicken fingers and fries is a demon thing. So I kind of agree with this I have you seen you put it on the stuff about ketchup and like how Like nasty it actually is no, okay. I also have to find that for you guys because like how it is made and the processes or processes, I don't know. Um It's just like nasty like ketchup is like one of the nastiest things. Oh
Starting point is 00:41:37 See, I didn't know that I would definitely put ketchup on fries and Chicken and also probably like my burger. Okay. I would put it on none of those things Like I never put ketchup on a burger ever. That is a condiment that I do not feel like belongs on a burger um I Never put ketchup on chicken um And don't put ketchup on fries. Wow. Okay. So ketchup is just disgusting. Do you even eat ketchup at all?
Starting point is 00:42:07 I probably buy one thing. This is not even a lie. Like maybe one thing of ketchup in my house a year Oh, like it's just not it's not a thing. No, I will um If I am making a meatloaf or something. I'll put ketchup on there um outside of that I'm not using it. It's just like weird and there's really no need for it. Like there's much better condiments It's just weird. Yeah All right, y'all care of is one of our favorite sponsors of this show
Starting point is 00:42:39 I take my vitamins next to my bed every single night care of is a subscription service that ships high quality personalized vitamin supplements and powders conveniently to your door every month What I love about this is that you can literally go on take the quick quiz and all of your vitamins are tailored to your health goals So as your health goals change so do your vitamins I absolutely love care of and it's crazy because I'm going out of town this weekend And already started packing like my bathroom stuff And I just love that I'm able to stay consistent at all times. So Whether I'm traveling whether I'm at home
Starting point is 00:43:13 It's easy to grab and I grab them on the go like a lot of times I will grab them in the morning before I leave to take jackson to school have them in the car Take them before my workout and I just love them. We don't have to take a hundred bottles with us when we travel We could just grab the amount of packets that we need for however many days we're going to be gone So when I leave for Thailand, I'll have the amount of packets that I need instead of bringing like a hundred bottles Or separating my pills and my vitamins into like a container like they're already done for me So the individual daily packs are so convenient for travel and the little packets are made of plant based compostable film So we love an eco friendly situation
Starting point is 00:43:52 And if you guys want to try these we recommend you go to take care of to order You'll get 50 off your first care of order. Go to takecareof.com and enter code coffee 50 Again for 50 off your first care of order. Go to takecareof.com and enter code coffee 50 Okay, all water actually tastes the same. That's absolutely the fuck not who the fuck You're not a regular water drinker if you think all water tastes the same because I think I truly think that if someone lined up the different waters for me Have you seen the ones with the sodas and the beers? Yeah, where they like cardboard them and like you can't see I truly believe that I would be able to decipher
Starting point is 00:44:32 Most if not all of the waters like I know Like I hate the taste of disani disani is disgusting. I hate it with everything. I mean even my kids don't like it um I we love ascentia smart water boss um I really do feel like I could decipher the taste between waters. I agree and I think that you could um I'm not that specific on water But there's there's specific waters that I don't like like I can't tell you which ones they are right at this moment
Starting point is 00:45:01 but Okay There are specific ones like if I tasted one I'd be like, oh, yeah, like I don't fuck with that water Disani is disgusting and I'm pretty sure it's filtered through like animal bones or something that might be a rumor But I did read that somewhere. We're we're starting rumors. Okay. The second one. The next one is definitely I agree with this. I don't think I don't think people do this. I think people joke about it But I don't think that people actually So it says people use astrological
Starting point is 00:45:29 Astrological science as an excuse for their shitty behavior. I don't know a single person that is like well I did that because I'm a scorpio. Like I don't think they actually do that. I think do that No, fucking way. They don't I'm a big believer in astrology and things like that But I have never in my life been like I'm this way because I'm a Pisces like that's just not I think people joke about it, but I don't think they actually Wholeheartedly believe that kill. I think that you're just wrong on this. I feel like people do wholeheartedly like use
Starting point is 00:46:05 Their astrology like I'm a Virgo. So like I can't help it that I am this way Well, people who do that don't actually Believe in astrology because when you are so you're a Virgo and I'm a Pisces. Those are not actually Yes, there are our astrology signs, but I'm a Leo moon and a Virgo rising. So I'm not going to actually act like a Pisces. I present as a Virgo So like people who blame their astrology signs on their shitty behavior on astrology signs shouldn't do that because You probably did what you did because your moon sign not your
Starting point is 00:46:45 Actual don't even get me started on this. Wait, my legs are so hairy Um, I was the type of person that I would go and like I'm not gonna say steal because I was just like borrowing My parents magazines like they always were the type of people That would Julie would go to the grocery store every time she went to the grocery store She would get like the new like in touch us weekly people magazine You know like all the things and then they would just like have them like near their shitter and just be like reading magazines and stuff and I would go in there and take them and
Starting point is 00:47:17 Read like my astrology sign like read about myself like in the back of those magazines. Do you remember them? Yeah, of course And I would be like that must be why like My week just like sucks Like it all makes sense like everything's making sense to me Right now and if you want to know the truth, I think that those like things in magazines and stuff like that and things that you read online I just think it's a crock of shit. Okay Okay, um, it's actually okay to complain about your kids
Starting point is 00:47:46 Um, I can complain about my kid, but you don't complain about my kid Period just like I can talk shit about my baby dad. You can't talk shit about my baby dad Exactly and it's like if I'm talking shit about my baby dad um Well, he's my ex-husband, but if I was talking shit about him Then I don't want you talking shit about him like I've literally asked someone out for Trying to talk shit about my ex-husband with me
Starting point is 00:48:11 And it's like no like that's not how this goes because like he is not your ex-husband Like no The next one Do people do this people who aren't married shouldn't refer to their partner as husband or wife So number one, I have definitely referred to a partner as my husband because I do get embarrassed at 30 years old to say my boyfriend You talked about that. Yeah. Yeah but then um Alessandra, which is one of my friends and like other people have said like just call them your partner. So that's what I started doing
Starting point is 00:48:41 um People who aren't married shouldn't refer to their partner as husband or wife personally I do not give a single fuck about a government piece of paper saying that we are legally married If you want to refer to your partner as your husband or wife and you take your relationship that seriously That you're going to call them and your husband or wife Well, who the fuck am I to judge like you don't need a you don't need A piece of paper to decide for you whether you are that serious about your significant other or not That doesn't bother me and I don't it doesn't bother me at all
Starting point is 00:49:14 I feel like before I went through all of my Let's call it traumas with You know my divorce I feel like I would have been the person that would have been like that person's like not even married like why are they Saying that like they've literally been together five minutes and they're saying that their husband and wife, right? They're they're diminishing the Uh seriousness and the yeah of that Um
Starting point is 00:49:41 Today on the other side of it I'm like bro Like I don't care what you do at all like quite frankly I need to be very worried about what I'm doing and way less worried about what you're doing So I don't care what somebody else does now. I'm not I am personally not going to refer to someone As my husband if he is not legally my husband I'm just not but that doesn't mean that I care that somebody else does and if somebody else like Is that serious in their relationship that they just don't want the government involved?
Starting point is 00:50:12 Then like fine like that's you boo. I agreed Attachment styles are more important than love languages in a relationship Um, I can't I don't have an opinion on this because I do think that love languages are very very important I don't I'm not super familiar with all the attachment styles. And so I can't have an opinion on this I definitely need to learn more about attachment styles Um, regardless just to see like if I could improve my parenting or my relationships with my kids Based on attachment styles. So I I can't I don't have an opinion on this so I think that
Starting point is 00:50:46 Attachment styles are very important. Caroline and I talked about attachment styles like a long time ago on the southern tea I can link like a quiz or something for people to be able to take I love like doing stuff like that to learn more about myself But what I have learned is you can know all these things about yourself But it's as important for you to know the things about your partner as it is yourself So like you can know what your love languages are But in order for you to be able to like improve your relationship with someone else You need to know what theirs are just because something works for you doesn't mean that it's working for them
Starting point is 00:51:23 Agreed. I definitely agree with that I I would love to take the attachment style quiz because I'm like I said, I'm not super familiar with all of them So if you have a link for it, let me know and I'll take it I will send it to you. Perfect. Oh Spending thousands of dollars for a child to be in a club sport is ridiculous Someone's coming for you kill I think someone's coming for me. I I don't agree with this. I think um
Starting point is 00:51:49 What someone spends on their child's activities, whether it's a sport or any type of club or anything for the child Um, if the child loves it and if the parent has the means to do it, I don't see anything wrong with it Um, I also have spent thousands of dollars on Lincoln sports and do I necessarily think that he's going to go pro? No, I think if he makes it that's fantastic if he doesn't I think that he still had a great time and it was worth every penny because he enjoyed himself. So for me um again Not my business. Um, and I don't think it's dumb for people who choose to do it and have the means
Starting point is 00:52:28 Um, I 1000% agree with you. I think that it's not our place to judge what someone else is doing With their child. It's not your kid. So I'm never going to you know, place judgment where it doesn't belong um I also spend a decent amount of money putting Jackson in various different sports camps and whatever and It's simply because he loves it and yeah, you know Do I think that like travel sports and stuff like that gets very expensive and your child should Be fully committed to that if you are going to spend those types of resources doing that. Yes, and I think that that's why it's important um
Starting point is 00:53:07 A lot of times kids don't start that until later ages because they don't have the commitment That they need that matches the financial commitment of the parents. And so in order for Jackson, he Asked he was like, I want to play travel travel basketball and will was like You're committed to basketball, but I want you to be committed to like wanting to work on the things that you need to work on before we commit to doing that because You don't just need to do it to be like, oh, I played travel basketball Like you need to fully be committed to do that for us to commit the finances to that Um, I would love if you guys did aAU if we did aAU and then they played each other
Starting point is 00:53:45 That would be so fucking cute. Wouldn't that be so cute that would be so and then you and I would be getting in fights We would know we would have to do like what Travis Kelsey's mom did where she had like the front of the jersey I love the eagles and the back was the chiefs or whatever Like that could be us we'd have like one for Lincoln and one for Jackson and we'd be cheering both of them on like Love that. Travis. Kelsey is my celebrity crush Um, immediately. Yes. He will I don't even know how nobody was talking about him Like for years and years and years or maybe they were and I was I've been talking about him for a long time I've been knowing about him for a long time. Yeah, okay. Well, I didn't even know he existed. I only knew about Jason
Starting point is 00:54:26 I had no idea he had a hot brother Aura ring or a ring. I love my aura ring. I wear it on my index finger. I've told you guys about this before I absolutely love tracking by sleep. I love tracking all the things that I need to know about my own personal body Um, and just like understanding my overall health. It's essential, right? So the aura ring helps you discover how your body is working and I'm about to be 31 So I guess that's probably important I love that it delivers accurate personalized health insights all from a comfortable to wear ring Like who would have thought that technology would have come this far
Starting point is 00:55:01 It tracks heart rate calories burned activity levels and at night it monitors body temperature trends sleep quality respiratory rate and more And you receive all the personalized data on the app so you can work on building healthy habits and living your best life That aura ring is easy to wear It's water resistant and it comes in two styles five colors to match your aesthetic. What color is your skill black? Oh not surprised by that um, and That small ring could make a world of difference in your health if you guys have not tried it
Starting point is 00:55:36 Kale has shared her positive experience with aura ring and I can't wait to get mine in the mail You guys can visit aura ring comm slash coffee combos to find the right ring for you and get $15 off your purchase That's aura ring comm slash coffee combos. Don't forget to use our link to save $15 on your aura ring Your spouse's job should never be your identity. Okay. This is a big thing for that. I've noticed um military wives live off their husband's rank, um, and then tag chasers like there's women who are obsessed with like Policemen or military men or whatever whoever's wearing like a badge and has like a tag Um, but one thing that I stayed the fuck away from as a military wife was The other military wives who would basically try to one-up you because their husband's rank was higher than your husband's rank or
Starting point is 00:56:31 You know, whatever that was and it was just like I don't give a single fuck about what you or your husband do Like I don't care. I didn't care about what because I had my own shit my own identity and I think a lot of women not all But a lot of women who are military wives that I've been I've encountered Um, they don't necessarily have an identity for themselves outside of their husband's job and being a stay-at-home mom And that's really sad Um to me because I don't want to talk about my husband every time I go out and meet someone new or if I'm out with the girls You know with the other wives of military men and like only talk about our husband's jobs. Like that's really sad to me I
Starting point is 00:57:11 Agree that your spouse's job should never be your personal identity Um, I think that you should have I think that's where a lot of marriages Struggle is when there's one person in that marriage or relationship That does not have their own identity and can't create it outside of the other person. So I think it's it's even deeper To me then like having an identity and your spouse's job like you shouldn't have you should have a separate identity Just yourself outside of that relationship period Yeah, I I really did try to say what this is going to sound mean and I I don't mean this in an offensive way But once I got like a small taste of it. I stayed away from military wives when I was with Javi
Starting point is 00:57:56 Um outside of my one girlfriend who was the pilot's wife, but she never talked about You know her husband was an officer and she never was like treated me like she was better than me or anything like that And so and they were very very nice people So that was like one family that I was cool with. Um, I didn't I never really was like a military wife Type of it just wasn't for me. Okay. The next one once abusive not always abusive Some people are only toxic with each other And I'm going to have to agree with this I also agree with this. Um, I don't think that
Starting point is 00:58:33 Because someone was abusive with you that that necessarily means that they're going to be abusive In another relationship if they have been in other relationships where they weren't abusive Um, there are some people who are just Habitually abusive and it's just like who they are and it's a part of who they are But I do believe that You can be in a relationship where someone brings out the worst in you and you bring out the worst in them I 100% agree. There's definitely been Relationships where it's been very
Starting point is 00:59:08 um, volatile um, abusive Toxic for me, but I've also been in relationships where it's absolutely not like that Um, so I'm speaking from experience when I say that not You're not necessarily always abusive in every relationship. I do agree with you also that Some people are there are people that are just abusive Over and over with no matter who they're with but that's just Abusive over and over with no matter who they're with but there are sometimes
Starting point is 00:59:37 Situations where you're it's just that person. I agree. Um College is a scam. I this is a tough one for me Because I do believe that college can be important, especially if you're going to be like a doctor or a lawyer a nurse Um, something like that. However, if you're Going you could be a business person without a business degree. You can be a graphic designer without a degree You can be you know, a journalist without a degree So there's a lot of things that you can do without a degree Do I necessarily think that they're
Starting point is 01:00:08 Everyone should go to college or that it's super important not necessarily at one point I did But I know so many people who have gone to college and gotten degrees and something that they're either a not using and Are making more money as blue collar workers or b They're using their college experience for a job, but they're not you they're not using the degree in their field So I feel like everything that you just said is very true But I think there's way more to college than just the degree and I think it taught me a lot of discipline um, it
Starting point is 01:00:40 talked taught me a lot of Like if you want something that you have to to work for it, um All of the team projects that I had to do as much as I hated them You know taught me to be able to work as a team in ways that I never had to do before There's a lot of benefits that I feel like I got from college how to manage my time um just uh How to be more responsible about things that like I didn't have to be responsible about before
Starting point is 01:01:08 um learning how to get up and Get about my day, you know, like even though I did that in high school It was a very different than college because it was all on me and it teaches you, you know Like you don't have to do this, but if you do this there's going to be a reward at the end So I do think that there are more benefits outside of just the actual paper degree
Starting point is 01:01:31 That that you're learning through that process. Well, even just some of the social experience Um going to college. I didn't have probably the same social experience as you did because fortunately and unfortunately my college experience was just very different but um You know, I think there's a lot to be said about the social stuff Like people will say oh the high school is the best years of your life life I would I would beg to differ say that college is probably a lot of people's the best time of their lives because they meet um, a lot of lifetime friends there, um, like you said managing your time a lot of times That's the first time people have been on their own
Starting point is 01:02:07 Um, so they're learning kind of balance all of that Uh, and I don't know. I just feel like yeah, I agree that there's because you can go to college Not get your degree, but you still came out with a lot of experience and knowledge. Um, even if you didn't graduate So yeah, I agree. Okay. The last one I believe that pepsi is Originated like in the state of south, carolina, which is where I'm originally from And lots of places there do like still have pepsi Um, I think that coke is far superior All coke products are far superior to pepsi products
Starting point is 01:02:44 Um, although I will say I think that I probably prefer sierra mist over sprite Well, sierra mist is not a thing anymore. It's called starry I learned that when I went through the taco bell drive through the other night I took jackson to a jump park and then you know any night that we go to do like a late jump park run He always gets taco bell I love that drove through there and I was like and we'll do a small sprite And he acted like he had never heard of sprite anymore and he was like, do you mean starry?
Starting point is 01:03:18 And I was like he knew what and I was like, what's starry? No, like sprite and he was like, no, it's starry It's starry. No, I don't understand that marketing change because I understand like people repackage things all the time to resell but like Sierra mist starry like honestly, they both are ugly names. So why not just leave it sierra mist? Don't know Okay, two things from the facebook group. We're gonna do these really quick and then Get into foul play First one from the facebook group is what are some good unique baby shower gift ideas? Maybe something personal
Starting point is 01:03:57 I feel like I I You never want to be the type of person that's like I want to pick my gift. Do you know what I'm saying? No, what do you mean? Well, like if you have a baby shower, like if I was having a baby shower I'm probably going to be like don't bring clothes Like for the baby. Yeah, like I have enough clothes like that would be I would want like diapers and like things that are going to like keep giving Verses just like an outfit. Okay, you know what I mean? But like, how do you
Starting point is 01:04:30 Tell people like hey Um, I'm not trying to pick my gift. But like don't bring this I would say like the registry shouldn't have anything but what you want Some people don't go off of that though, which is that pisses me off. So I also first of all one of my girlfriends just found out that she is having a baby and um, number one she Already has like a small child and she went to go exchange those the diapers that ran out for her new baby that's coming
Starting point is 01:05:04 And one they took restocking fee out of the boxes every single box that she returned They charged a restocking fee, which is new. Um, so if they're doing that for other items, but then secondly This is a different. This is my I think my friend's baby is almost a year old now. Um So there was a specific item on her registry someone bought it But then someone must have seen it on the registry and then bought it separately So then she ended up with two or three of the same item because people were not buying from the registry and just would like skim through it and then like go But like that is not like the purpose of a registry is so that people can get what they need or that they want
Starting point is 01:05:42 Not so that you can turn around and like I know it's the thought that counts But also like we've talked about multiple times like stop spending your money on things for me that I'm not gonna like I'm not going to use I already have something of and like I don't want you to spend your money on something That I'm not going to use or I already have something. You know what I mean? I also love the idea. I agree with everything that you just said I also love the idea of like baby shower specific showers, so it's like a Um diaper raffle. Yes like diaper formula
Starting point is 01:06:12 um Like something specific like gift car, you know, like whatever I think that those are great ideas, but I think what I'll do um When this airs, I think you and I should both do this where we pick some of like our Favorite like gift ideas for baby showers and link them. I'm down and we could also do we could probably also do like wedding showers I know, um Love every used to be a sponsor on this podcast
Starting point is 01:06:40 Um creed uses love every That's to me a unique um Baby idea because it it's the thought of the child still growing and having toys that are um age appropriate and it's just like something that You don't the mom doesn't have to think about buying or getting and so I really love that idea any type of like subscription service I think is a unique gift idea because it's thoughtful for the entire year Um, and so you can I'm pretty sure most baby subscriptions you can pause them and then like restart them or skip a month or whatever
Starting point is 01:07:15 And so to me, I think those are good options a lot of things that I've heard about baby showers is They like with amazon now you can do The deliveries for diapers so like you can set it and like buy like three months diaper delivery or whatever like I love stuff like that um I also love staple things, but again you have to go off of somebody's registry because they don't need like Five nail cutters are like right, you know, but there are some specific things that are more Luxury items that I would like to link up because I would have loved to have received it At my baby shower like uh, especially items of convenience. Yes
Starting point is 01:07:59 Yes, um, okay, and then the next from the facebook group Is does anyone have any advice on how to regulate emotions as an adult would I need therapy to work on it? Are there books that I can read? um I'm still learning how to do this and I Have gotten pretty good At being able to regulate my emotions when I try to remove my personal emotion from the conversation that I'm having Or if I know I'm going into a conversation that
Starting point is 01:08:33 could be Emotionally triggering I try to identify that before I engage in that conversation. I do that a lot with will, you know, like I try to keep things very matter of fact and just state facts and try to remove Like my personal feelings around that does that make sense? So then I don't know totally Emotionally triggered by the things that He may say to me because I have removed that element for myself before I ever started engaging in that conversation
Starting point is 01:09:03 I know that you can't be prepared like that for every situation. Um, I regularly Would get very emotional having conversations with suburban dad just because of the things surrounding our relationship um, and Very emotionally triggering for me and is very hard when you have so many emotions invested to emotionally remove yourself um From that type of situation and I do think for me that takes therapy for me personally I had to go through therapy and I don't think that
Starting point is 01:09:38 um, it even helped right away. I didn't start seeing the true effects of therapy until I went through like two years of Learning what I was doing and how to undo certain things and so in that third year I really started to like actually regulate my emotions and even now when I draft up emails for hobby specifically and sometimes chris Um for text messages because he doesn't want to do the email thing Sometimes I will draft up a very very emotionally charged email And I'll send it to christen and be like can you please help me and she will say kale
Starting point is 01:10:14 There's too much emotion in this like you have a lot of feelings in this You need to remove the feelings and I do that because she is not emotionally invested in my Co-parenting situation like I am and so she'll say instead of saying You know instead of putting the blame on him about something ask him a question like be solution oriented and so Um, most recently I sent him something where it was like, okay, you know, I challenge you with this instead of saying you you you you you It's like, okay. Here's my perspective. I challenge you to think of it this way Um, and I literally will go and I think I even sent you the email to like Yeah
Starting point is 01:10:51 Before I sent the final one. I had to I wanted to make sure it was very much not emotionally charged. It was very Regulated same thing for like reacting with my kids. Um, I used to be very reactive when something happened Um and very emotional or whatever But now between you telling me power in the pause and when I tell you that shit changed my fucking life So therapy and power in the pause are two things that I truly have implemented into my life Most times I am not going into things emotionally charged and I'm very much More so regulated now than I would have been three years ago. So therapy. Yes I don't have any books I can recommend on this
Starting point is 01:11:30 But if anyone listening does have books on this Please share because I would love to read them myself and also this person who wrote this in probably could benefit as well So, please let us know Make a post with books that have helped regulate things also your emotions. Unfortunately for me have had to learn a lot about emotional regulation by practicing it in my life and in situations like Situations have to come up to allow me to practice some of the things that I'm learning and therapy and so I don't want to say it's trial and error, but I do think that it is
Starting point is 01:12:06 You know, you have to create positive habits and until you are in situations to where you have to apply these skills Um, you're not going to know if you have them well and to that point like You could have learned the skills acquired the skills You know and and are trying to apply them maybe the first time you try to learn your new skills your new coping your new You know, whatever It might not be a hundred percent, but the next time you're in the situation. You're getting better every time and that sucks um, and I think that's why um
Starting point is 01:12:38 hobby struggles to understand like me screaming from the rooftop about therapy Um, and then saying that i'm not applying it. No, I absolutely am it's just it takes time and not every single time that I Do something is it going to be perfect standards that people? Yeah, it's not going to be perfect I have to be put in the situations to apply them and I'm not going to be perfect the first time I do it It's like when I picked up a lacrosse stick. I didn't make varsity as soon as I picked it up You know what I mean? Like it took time. I had to learn so yeah, I agree with that Um, really quickly. I know kale talks about her weekly menu and how much it has helped I need some ideas about what to cook something that my picky husband and three year old would eat thanks in advance
Starting point is 01:13:16 So I want to just say don't overthink this. I have a literal paper calendar with a little command Hook on my fridge. I'll take a picture of it tonight and I'll post and I'll have kristin post it whenever this episode airs Um, we literally just go by the week. We don't go by the month on sundays We lay out. Okay, you know when I have the older kids every other week Isaac loves tacos and I know that some everybody in the family will eat some form of the taco So luxe prefers a quesadilla Lincoln likes the the soft taco with meat and cheese only like so that we can make You know, whatever. So like on tuesdays, we'll do taco tuesday. I'm just trying to get through this specific one really fast Um, we'll always have a pasta night. Um, it could be any pasta that you're used to cooking
Starting point is 01:13:59 And then maybe the next week when you guys do your menu, it's a different pasta, but it's still a pasta So don't overthink it. Um, also last week when I did this I did, um, Um, Lindsay's mississippi pot roast recipe. Um, it's super simple There's not a lot of ingredients you can throw it in the crock pot in the morning And then there's enough for leftovers if you guys do leftovers for lunch, which I do Um, it doesn't have to be super complicated. Um They're coming to get me. Um, so yeah, don't overthink it and it can literally be like if you guys do a pasta night But your son only I don't know if it's a son or a daughter
Starting point is 01:14:35 Only does plain pasta, which is literally Lincoln will only do like plain noodles with parmesan cheese But we'll eat like alfredo or spaghetti. Um, that we try to do that a lot where it's like Elements that the kids will eat, but then maybe we add like the extras. Does that make sense? Yes, and I do that a lot in my house too and I have tried to I think If you're going and and this is something that I had to learn if you're going to like explore Your recipes maybe use that like on your weekends where you have like extra spare time and you know, if you're working Monday through Friday Those aren't very
Starting point is 01:15:12 Exploritative meal Days for me. Like I'm gonna do minimal ingredients Something that's like quick and easy something that doesn't take a ton of thought something that I can like put in the crock pot or air fryer or you know, whatever And never have more than like three things on our plate. So it's normally like something green Uh, some type of like potato something and then some type of protein and I try to like stick to that But we can post I think it would be a good idea to like post more of what we're cooking and I'm going to try to be
Starting point is 01:15:48 Mindful of that. Um, because people did love The mississippi pot roast that I posted and then also the meatloaf recipe like it it's will's mom's meatloaf recipe And it's one of the best things that I learned from her in my time. Yeah in that marriage Um, okay foul play really quick foul play This story is kind of a two-parter. So I briefly dated a guy. We'll call jason prior to having sex with him He really built himself up. Well, that's the first mistake when they build themselves up, you know that they're overcome They're full of shit
Starting point is 01:16:19 Yes, um talking about how wonderful he would make me feel etc Once it finally came time for us to do the deed. I was shocked His penis was so small big emphasis on the so Seriously couldn't even really feel it. I had to fake an oh and everything needless to say things ended shortly thereafter But not just because of that but because I began to realize he was an alcoholic Fast forward a year. I'm in a new relationship with my now husband Robert Robert is a police officer and works at the same police department. I do my ex jason gets arrested for d.y In a sentence to jail to a weekend in jail
Starting point is 01:16:54 I'm at home and I get a text from Robert who's at work that was all laughing face emojis with a follow-up message that says I will never worry about you leaving me to go back to jason I now see why you left him and feel so much more comfortable about myself It took me a minute to realize my new boyfriend had booked my old boyfriend into jail and had to strip search him I was mortified. My new boyfriend had just seen my ex-boyfriend's penis But Robert was right. We have now been married for seven years and I could never considered going back to jason Love y'all and enjoy listening every week I cannot
Starting point is 01:17:26 No, okay. I could not. Okay, so I have to say you know, it is one of the biggest turnoffs for a man to Act overly confident in that way if you have to talk about it, then you're not about it at all, you know, and so that's a big turnoff um outside of that Faking orgasms. That's I'm too old for that. So we're leaving that in 2015. I'm no longer faking orgasms
Starting point is 01:17:59 I did I definitely did once upon a time, but I'm not doing that anymore. No, that's just not a thing and I'm not quite sure what that even looks like. So that's just not something that I'm Oh, I'll tell you really quickly. You'd like tighten it really quick like you squeeze your Your kitty like really tight and you're like you like moan a little and then you're done It's like but like a real orgasm is like this like if you have to ask did I see you? I didn't you you'll know because it pulses like please Please get off of me if you have to ask. Thank you. Okay, and then also I
Starting point is 01:18:35 I would be absolutely mortified if my Boyfriend strip searched my ex-boyfriend. I would laugh really hard And I would even be more mortified if the x had a bigger Dick than the other one But in this case that evidently is not the case. Okay next next. Okay next. Let me read it Okay, hi queens. I wanted to write in to tell you guys about an extremely embarrassing experience last year when I was working at a well-known sub shop one night
Starting point is 01:19:05 I went to text my friend Emma a long list of inappropriate words just because I thought it would be funny The text included about 20 separate messages and before I list them just know this is our humor The text sent were bitch clit liquor asshole eater cock muncher titty biter anus plunger boob snacker balls juggler vagina sucker penis destroyer dick grabber and pube eater After I sent those texts. I realized that I accidentally. Oh my god After I sent those texts. I realized I accidentally sent them to my boss Emma instead of my friend Emma at one in the morning I texted her right after and made up a lie and said my friend took my phone and I didn't hear from her until the next day Lol, she said she wasn't mad about the text. Just said it woke her up in the middle of the night
Starting point is 01:19:50 Love you guys so much. You make my week I would be fucking mortified and I would say someone took my phone and I would never address that ever again Okay, one. I don't even know what I would do like in this situation if I was working at a sub shop and text my boss these things I think that I would just you know, it's kind of like um, someone breaks into your house and You're supposed to let them come and find you like you don't go and find them. I would apply that situation Here as well. What haven't you ever heard of that? My granddad. He always used to tell me this like when I was growing up
Starting point is 01:20:26 He was like if someone ever breaks into your house, like you don't go looking for them Like you prepare and let them come find you. Um, I would apply that same thought process to The situation she's gonna have to come and find me because I am absolutely not addressing this like I have sent these messages I am not apologizing. I'm gonna pretend like I have no clue what's going on Um, and at the point that she is brazen enough to come and address address me about Um, texts that are talking about being a pubeater Um, she's gonna she's gonna have to get uncomfortable
Starting point is 01:21:02 At the level that I am I'm gonna act like I have no fucking clue what is going on I'm gonna be like, I don't know like phone lines were crossed like something like it absolutely was not me Um, so I just feel bad for Emma that she got woken up And then I also feel bad for whatever the person's name is that worked at the sub shop that that sent these messages Um outside of that my little troll self is gonna go and uh get my eyelashes done get my brows done Um, and be about the day um with my child who's faking sick upstairs um
