just just gilead this is cognitive dissonance every episode we blast anyone who gets in our way
we bring critical thinking skepticism and irreverence to any topic that makes the news makes it big or
makes us mad.
It's skeptical.
It's political.
And there is no choice.
This episode 628.
No choice,
baby.
No choice.
This is the,
this is of the fuck.
We knew this was coming,
but when it came,
it was fucking document,
bro,
bro, man. Sunday. Was it Sunday? Was it was fucking document, bro, bro, man.
Sunday. Was it Sunday? Was it Sunday? I don't, it times one of those nights.
It was, it was a nighttime. It was Monday or I think it was Sunday or Monday.
Yeah. And I remember sitting there and as soon as my wife showed me,
I thought, yeah, we knew this was coming. We knew this was coming.
We knew this was coming. We knew this was coming. We knew this was coming. We knew it was coming. Trump said
as much when he had
packed the court with
essentially anti-choicers
from the very beginning. From the moment.
Every single one of them was an
anti-choicer, so you knew it was going to happen.
We knew
something was going to get to them eventually,
and so it did. Now
people are staring down the barrel of it's not just going to be you're going to them eventually. And so it did. And now people are staring down the barrel of, it's not
just going to be, you're going to get sued. It's not just, it's a criminal law. It's going to be a,
it's going to be a crime to get one in certain states, in many states, 20 some states, not just,
not just like two states, right. Many states and any of the states that had, I think lower levels
of, you know, that were, I think, lower levels of,
you know, that were trying to play that viability route.
Oh, they'll just.
They're going to just.
You're not going to get an abortion there.
They're not.
Those weren't.
Complete ban.
Those weren't there to try to give you access to abortion.
Those were there to try to skirt the rules.
And now that they don't have to,
those will not be there anymore.
Yeah, this is like, I will say i thought this would be bad i didn't think it would be as bad so what i really thought
was you know and i guess shame on me because like for the longest time i'd read a bunch of stuff
that you know this was like justice roberts court and justice roberts granted he's been he's been
losing control of the courts but he's an incrementalist. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So he was always like,
oh, small changes, small changes, small changes.
And so what I really thought was like
that this case would prevail
in the sense that they would move the time
from 23 weeks to 15.
I really thought that's what would be the result,
is that they would say-
But they were going to stay with viability,
but they were just going to change it.
But they were going to move the goalpost, right?
And change it down to 15, which would be bad.
But it would not be this bad.
This is so, and we'll talk about it.
15 would mean that 90% of the abortions performed would still be able to happen.
Right.
So it's a bad deal, right?
Because it flies in the face of reason and science, and it's just an arbitrary cutoff that doesn't make any,
but fine.
Like I,
I was,
I was,
I was sort of like mentally prepared for the shift.
Yeah.
Right.
Shift.
That's exactly right.
That's exactly right.
That's what it was going to be.
They were going to turn it for this.
They were going to turn it into,
they,
they've been moving the conversation about abortion.
They've been shifting that conversation
farther and farther using more and more dramatic language
for years.
That's what the Overton window is.
If you're not familiar with it,
what it is is there's an idea
that there's like a frame around a conversation.
And the more you weight that frame to one side
using certain types of language,
you can push the conversation farther and farther, let's say, to the right.
Right.
And so when you push that conversation farther and farther to the right, positions that might have been on the left before now are centrist positions.
And so something like, well, at least we'll have 15 weeks is now a centrist position where instead it would have been an, if it's not an open access
position. Right. Exactly. And so it's the shift of the Overton window, which is a real, real bad
thing for us because it puts us always on our back foot. We're always defending. It's like the,
the Jodo, whatever that, what is that shit that that guy does? Oh, that, uh, oh yeah. Akito.
Akito. Yeah. Where you lose a fight, where you lose a fight. When you get beat up, that's what it is.
And essentially it's just like,
you're constantly trying to dodge and duck and block.
Right.
And we're always on the defensive.
And this is one of those moments too,
where people don't understand politics
and they just come out and they say the dumbest shit.
I know that there's a lot of people out there
who are talking about, you know,
Obama should have done this
and it should have happened a long time ago.
And they're blaming Ruth Bader Ginsburg
for not stepping down.
I'm so sick of this.
And they're blaming,
there's a lot of blame going around.
But what it really comes down to is,
it comes down to the court pretending,
the court being anti-choice and pretending it's about states
rights yeah that's what it is but mark my words it is not about states rights no because the moment
there's an opportunity to pass a law in this country that outlaws it everywhere that will
happen yeah well a hundred percent happen i i there's a couple of things that i want to i want
to talk about real quick and the first is and I was thinking about this all week since this thing happened, the,
and I want to be very clear about this.
Cause like there's, we get all this fucking messaging and all this, the only ones to blame
are the Republicans.
There's nobody else to blame.
Yeah.
That's it.
It's like blaming anybody else is, is akin to like blaming anyone for rape other than
the rapist.
Yeah. Right. Nobody else. There
are no other factors ever that are important. Yeah. Like who is taking this right away?
Republicans. Yeah. That's it. It is not the fault of Democrats that they lost the fight.
Yeah. Right. It is the fault of the Republicans for doing this in the first place. The only blame,
for doing this in the first place.
The only blame, 100% of it,
0% of it falls on the opposing team for not winning in their opposition.
Yeah.
The bad thing should not have been happening.
It's so fucked up that rather than looking at the people
who are trying to hurt and disenfranchise us,
we look at ourselves and internalize that
back upon our own party and say,
I should have fought harder. You didn't fight for my side. You didn't vote for the right.
The only one who's taking rights from women are the Republicans. That's it. Nobody else.
I get that there are strategic elements. I understand that. I'm not missing that point,
but it is very much akin to being like, well, what were you wearing?
Yeah, no, it's like, fuck you. Very much. You're right. You're right. You're right. You know, like if I go to a fucking, if I walk around and I've got my wallet half hanging out of my
fucking pocket, a fucking bundle of money hanging out of my pocket and somebody steals my wallet,
the only person that was a thief was the guy who stole my wallet. Right. That's it. It's not my
wallet. Didn't do the wrong thing. Somebody's a fucking thief. Yeah. The Republicans are hurting women and that's
it. That's it. That's it. That's the sentence. Let's focus on that shit. Like I can't like
this, like infighting amongst ourselves, it accomplishes nothing. And it moves the,
the intensity of focus away from the people who are actually actively hurting women.
And it makes me fucking sick. It's wrong. It's a wrong way to think about it.
You look at this ruling and you read it and it is so much worse than the Overton window shift, right? Because the reasoning that underlies it basically
says like, hey, you know what? There's nowhere in the constitution that mentions abortion.
And so you guys were relying on the 14th Amendment. And the 14th Amendment is really
like a liberty-based amendment. And we're just going to strip away the entire underpinning
that grants people the ability to create families in the way that they want to create families.
And the problem is like, one, that's disingenuous bullshit because we've used that for like a
hundred fucking years. It's a liar's rhetoric in order to justify an outcome. So this ends justify the
means reasoning is what it is. And the other thing is that now we've taken the right of choice away
from women to form families or not form families or build families to how they want and when they
want. And we've done that, but then you've also got to ask yourself, holy shit, what's next?
Because there are other major groundbreaking cases that rely, the reason we have access to
contraception, up until the 1960s, married couples did not have a legal right to access contraception.
And we have a right to access contraception because of a Supreme
Court case that said, based on the 14th Amendment, that said, basically, look, your liberty here
is being infringed upon. So you're right to contraception. You're right to the 2003 ruling,
I'm going to get them mixed up, so I'm not going to name them. The 2003 ruling that I can't recall the name of that basically struck down anti-sodomy laws, right?
Oh, Burgerfell?
No, that's the gay marriage one. I think this was Lawrence. I think it's Lawrence v. Texas,
but someone's going to correct me if I'm wrong on it. So I think it's Lawrence v. Texas.
Yeah, sure.
But that struck down, that was a 2003 law. There are states where you can't fucking give a blow
job, right?
That's sodomy is oral and anal, right?
So it's like.
It's the good stuff.
Right.
It's all the good stuff.
That's your birthday stuff.
Come on.
They're getting rid of birthday stuff.
Just have a steak.
Stupid.
It's stupid.
Hey, my birthday.
What am I going to do on flag day what the jesus yeah but i hold on though so so i know i know what you're talking about right all those things
hinge on the 14th amendment though berger fell right and now all that reasoning's been up up
but i did i did hear one analysis of it where i guess
he takes pains in this to mention that this only is about abortion you know i read i read the same
thing the problem is that there was and i i there's another law and i can't remember what it
is it's a relatively recent law that they do the same thing and i can't remember what the fuck it
was where they say this is only about this one issue.
However,
that law has been cited over a hundred times as reasoning.
So there you go.
Yeah.
Yeah.
So it's like,
you can say it all you want,
but it's not gonna,
yeah,
it's not gonna,
but it doesn't prevent anybody from saying,
Hey,
look,
if it was true for this case,
the reasoning holds for this next case.
Yeah.
And like,
you know,
anti-miscegenation laws yeah no they
rely on that yeah you know and like and like the the idea and overfill and the uh and the problem
is is when you say stupid shit like well they didn't mention abortion in the constitution so
we can't really rule on it's like well they didn't mention fucking airplanes either i know they don't
fucking you can't do any like you can't even do phone stuff like because it wasn't a phone didn't
exist so you can't break up the fucking whatever't even do phone stuff like because it wasn't a phone didn't exist
so you can't break up the whatever and then bring that to the supreme court because we can't
even hear it because i gotta protect i'm like that in that movie what the bleep do we
know staring out at the sea because i can't see a ship i can't see boats because i wasn't expecting
them i can't see i can't see abortion because I can only look at the Constitution. Like it's a stupid, stupid thing. Like like the idea that these people are like impinged by the Constitution. It's't take into account progressing past where we were.
Like, you know, they have, they mentioned that they have overturned several pieces of what has
been considered in the past precedent, right? So they have done this in the past. That's what
one of the major portions of this is where he's saying, we've done this before. Precedent has been
changed before. But someone else's analysis on it too, I was reading and he's saying, we've done this before. Precedent has been changed before.
But someone else's analysis on it too, I was reading and they were saying, yeah, but that's
always been to be more progressive, to open up more liberties for other people, be that gay
marriage or interracial marriage or being able to suck a cock if you want. It's never been the
other way. And this is the other way. This is removing rights from people.
First time that's ever happened. It's the first time it's ever happened. And it's,
it's make no mistake. It has been a calculated attack by the Republican party for decades for
this to happen. It started, it started maybe 25 years ago when they,
and actually longer,
I would say maybe 30 years ago with Gingrich.
And then it just kept going since then.
He created the idea of the wedge issue.
He created this idea,
and then people bought into it so deeply
that we're at this position now
where three judges who literally lied in their interviews,
lied, flat out lied in their interviews.
No bullshit, lied.
Now they changed the face of healthcare
in the United States with one ruling.
Think of how that's going to change everything.
And it's a disaster of a ruling.
It's a disaster for women.
It's an attack on women and it's a disaster for women. It's an attack on women and
it's a disaster for women. It is. And I know we've said this before, but I just feel so strongly
about it. I feel like I have to say it every time. I feel very strongly that the, the anti-abortion,
anti-choice, it's all based on a desire to remove women from the workforce to financially disenfranchise women by keeping
them pregnant, keeping them at home, removing them from competition from men in the workforce.
I it's, it seems so self evidently like, Oh, that's just an, Oh, I guess it's just an
accidental byproduct that a bunch of dudes, because it's almost all dudes that fucking
make these choices for women.
Oh, I guess I do stand to gain from it. Well, that's just an accident. Get the fuck out of here with that
shit. The war on women is real and they're fucking winning. Like this is a massive,
massive blow to women. And also make no mistake, the drain on the state, on every state that does
not allow abortion,
you're going to pay so much more money. You're going to pay, you're now going to have
massively more people who are having babies that are like all those babies that get aborted,
that have like complications, you know, like you do, because they have an enormous amount of tests
now. So we do, when you find out you're pregnant, you go and you get genetic testing.
You get all kinds of testing to find out,
is this a viable, healthy...
Well, many of those fetuses
don't come all the way to term.
Yeah.
Well, now they're all coming to term, man.
Like they're all coming to term
in like half the states in America.
Like 13 states have trigger laws,
which means that the day that
Roe is overturned, law is going to affect. And a bunch of other states never took their previous
anti-abortion laws off the books. So they had existing laws. Those laws then become reactivated
once they're no longer unconstitutional. So it's some day one shit for a bunch of these states.
I wonder, Tom, and i don't know man but
like part of me wonders if this is like this could really backfire i hope so i know man they feel is
this kind of feels to me like the dog that finally caught the car's bumper yeah right because i think
they needed this forever to to galvanize their force.
Now what do they have?
And now that you don't have it.
Yeah.
And there's plenty of places all over the country that are going to be setting up shop.
There's going to be services that are going to be moving women from one place to another.
The things we got to start worrying about now are, are they going to try to stop women from traveling?
Yeah.
Missouri has a law pending.
Are they?
Really? Yeah.
Missouri has a pending law that would basically work very similar to SB eight. But
basically if a woman leaves the state of Missouri to get an abortion and when she returns to the
state of Missouri, it's fair game to sewer Jesus Christ and everybody who helped her.
So like, yeah, we're basically like monitoring the travel activity of pregnant women.
We're basically like monitoring the travel activity of pregnant women.
That's,
that's,
I mean,
it's all frightening, but like,
that's such a,
like,
how do you,
how do you look yourself in the face and be like,
yeah,
we're the party,
small government.
I know.
Right.
Yeah.
We're going to fucking put air tags on every fucking fetus out there.
It's like,
we're going to tag them like a fucking mutual of Omaha,
fucking a wild kingdom lion.
Is that when you said air tags?
I was like Bluetooth tags.
You're just walking around the parking garage.
Like fetuses are beeping as you're-
Which fetus is mine?
God damn it.
Am I in P4?
I can't see it because it's a fucking grain of rice.
But it's,
make no mistake.
They're coming after you're not getting contraceptives.
You're not getting,
you're not going to get the day after pill.
You're not going to be able to leave the state.
Like those places,
those places are going to be absolute traps for women.
Yeah,
they're going to be,
they're going to be traps.
It's like a fucking,
it's going to be like,
it's,
it's,
it's going to be,
it's, it's already war, but it's going to be but it's going to get worse from here. The bloodshed intensifies.
It's going to get worse from here.
And this changes things for decades to come.
I don't see a way that this gets changed unless they somehow add more people to the Supreme Court or something. The only hope,
and the only actual real thing that could happen,
and granted, it could get reversed,
is Congress could pass a federal law.
Sure.
And that would be unaffected by this decision. So Congress could pass a federal law
and give everybody the right to an abortion.
The next time it was a three...
And that's why another thing I'm worried about
is the filibuster,
right?
If we blow up the filibuster to do that,
then they come in and they just flip it.
And we'll just be in this,
we'll just be in this constant seesaw.
Every four years you can get an abortion.
Yep.
So you just have to be pregnant for four straight years.
I wonder if this will turn red States blue.
There's a purple States.
That's there's a possibility. And that's what I'm talking about. Like the cat, red, purple states. There's a possibility.
And that's what I'm talking about.
Like, you know, this is a pressure on a ton of people.
You know, rich women aren't going to feel the pressure of this.
Right.
A rich woman can get a plane ticket,
fly to wherever they want,
get the procedure done and fly back.
A rich woman.
You know, an upper middle class woman probably won't. They'll feel a little bit, but they won't feel it too much. You know,
a middle-class woman, maybe she might be able to do it, but then you're going to start looking
at people who get pregnant that are going to be like, that are like, you know, middle, lower
classes. Yeah. Someone who works in a, you know, someone who's working paycheck to paycheck,
they can't, they can't, they can't do it. Now what? Now what's going to happen? Suddenly people who have for years been, you know, either
disaffected and not doing anything or have been maybe Republican are going to start seeing that
this is not a Democrat thing that's keeping you down. Right. This is a clear, and this is the
moment where the, their party can't galvanize them around this one thing anymore.
What are you going to galvanize?
Yep.
And I wonder how many more people that were at like your,
your point is very well taken.
People who have previously been apathetic,
like how many fires is this going to light under those asses?
Might light a bunch.
It could be really bad for them.
And like you said,
they can make a law,
but I wonder if now it's going to be a seesaw,
if it's just going to be back and forth.
They can't do it right now
and they can't do it right now
because they won't blow up the filibuster
because they don't.
And they do not have the votes for this.
There's actually two, Manchin
and I think someone from Pennsylvania.
Both of them will not vote for this
because they come from conservative districts
where that would not be the right thing to do.
And so we don't have the votes for this anyway.
Nope.
So the votes don't even exist.
So don't like, like, don't be like, well, we have all three or we have all, you know,
we have the presidency and the two houses.
Like, like you kind of don't and you can't even bring it to the floor and no one would
do it to blow up the filibuster.
So you're like, you don't have shit.
You don't have the, the, the only way out of this is to create a democratic majority that
is filibuster filibuster proof. That's the, I mean, like that is the actual only way out of this.
I was thinking about this this week. So there's a, there's a Greek play by Sophocles called Liz
Estrada. And I'm sure you're familiar. And Liz Estrada, so if you're
not familiar with it, basically a bunch of people, a bunch of ladies get fed up with the constant
warfare. And they're like, all right, enough fucking warfare. Unless you guys make peace,
we're not fucking you anymore. That's it. No more fucking until you guys can figure out how to make
peace. And I was thinking, to the extent that it is possible
and safe and it wouldn't be in every circumstance. And I totally get that. Right. But I do wonder
if there doesn't need to be, or if it wouldn't be a good idea to coalesce a movement like of women
around this issue. Like we're not fucking dudes that are not actively working to promote choice.
That's it.
Like no sex.
Like that's it.
Like,
cause it's too dangerous for women.
What we've said,
men have created a world where sex is too dangerous for women.
So why should women continue to engage in sex with men who do not have their
best interests at heart?
Right.
So like your husband,
like your hookups on Tinder,
we're like, there's a fun question. Are you, what are you actively doing to promote choice?
Are you voting next week? Have you voted in the past? Like, like, like we need to have marches
and protests, but for real, and I'm not even really kidding when people stop getting laid,
they'll change their mind. They will, they will change their mind. I believe that, man.
Like people are, people are shit.
People are shit.
And like when the problem with the war on,
the war on women is men never suffer any losses.
Right.
They never eat any shit.
There's no bloodshed on that side.
So like they need to eat some shit.
I mean, fucking, I, I heard this week and I didn't disagree.
I was like, you know, they were saying like,
there should just be a general strike from work, period.
Yeah.
Just be like, well then, like it's a general strike then.
Nobody goes to work.
Pass a law protecting us or we're done.
We're done.
And, you know, the thing is,
there's a lot of power in that stuff.
Yeah.
There's a lot of power in that.
We just, we become so fractured
and there's so much infighting
and there's so much finger pointing.
Yep. And I mean,
I want to point out, it's been
an absolute coordinated attack
from the beginning. You can point to several
points on our history in the
recent past 15 years
that you can point to and be like, that was a
step and that was a step and that was
a step. And Mitch McConnell not seeing
fucking Merrick Garland, bringing Merrick Garland.
That was a step. And then, you know, changing Ruth gator bader ginsburg's seat out because it wouldn't happen
if that wasn't there because you'd have roberts on one side it wouldn't happen it would not have
still had a majority but it wouldn't happen yep and that's i guarantee this would have gone five
four they would have upheld row yep they would have upheld Roe. We need it. Yep. All you needed was one extra seat.
This is, this is like, you know, and again, I know we'll get emails. I know people disagree, but like when we, when we vote, it matters. Even when we think it doesn't,
even when you think it doesn't, even if you think they'll accomplish nothing else, but this,
the lesser of two evils results in less evil. And I want to say too, this is also a
possibility that suddenly people who are on the left can start paying attention to more local
things. It feels like the only time they're ever really galvanized is when there's big things
happening. They go out and the Republican vote is always higher in the midterms than it is
for the Democrats. It's just always higher. And so what we need to do is we need to pay attention
because guess what?
You live in a red state now,
but if you vote enough and you get enough people out,
your state can have abortion
because you can get rid of the governor
and you can vote in all brand new House and Senate members
in your state and you can turn your state.
And some of these are already ready to flip.
I mean, some of these that might outlaw like Wisconsin or Michigan or whatever,
they could easily turn the other way.
They voted Democrat in the last election.
Even Texas.
Yeah.
Even Texas.
Texas has been on the cusp of Florida.
Yep.
All of them.
And I think,
I think there will be,
you know,
it may take a little while.
It may take a few years,
unfortunately.
And a few years,
it's just so nobody thinks I'm minimizing it. I get it. A few years of no choice is a horror. There will be, just to say
out loud, there will be women that die in childbirth that would not have died. There will be
dead wives and sisters and mothers. People will die for this. This is not like the toll, the human cost is enormous. And beyond the cost of death,
the financial cost, the emotional burden, the psychological burden, the burden to the state
to take care of children that people are going to give up or that don't have the money and are
going to use benefits they wouldn't have otherwise used. Everything about this results in poorer
outcomes for everyone.
Yeah.
So it's a big fucking deal.
So I don't want to minimize it,
but what I mean to say is it may take a little while,
but there will be people who,
cause like there's a huge,
it's like one in four women have an abortion.
Yeah.
It's not,
it's not like,
it's not a small number.
So at some point,
somebody who's staunchly Republican is going to want an abortion and not be able to get one.
Yeah.
And maybe they're going to change their fucking mind.
And then the people around them might change their mind.
Right.
And then, you know, these things have ripple effects.
Yep.
And so you could see some serious change happening, but we're going to have to eat some shit for a while because I do not see an easy out.
I don't either.
and easy out. I don't either. What I see is it's going to be for now, you know, the luck that we have is that there's some states that are going to still allow it. Yeah. And that's the luck you
have. But I do not think, you know, things could go shitty where no states have it. That's a
possibility. Yeah. There's big geographical parts of this country, which will be, they will basically
be anti-choice islands. And I will say,
just as a point of reference, I did look it up and some of the abortion medications are good
for five years. So they have a shelf life, a stated, I'm not Tom Curry making stuff up,
but they have a stated shelf life of five years. So you've got a few weeks.
And if it's possible for you to get prescribed,
if you live in one of those states and you're concerned,
you're concerned about a loved one that you're attached to,
it might not be the worst thing to see if you can get yourself a prescription,
scroll it away someplace warm, safe, and dark,
and have that on hand because it's not going to be on hand.
It's not going to be available in six months.
And some of these places are not going to not going to be on hand. It's not going to be available in six months.
And some of these places are not going to allow be shipped in.
Right.
And you're going to be in some,
it's going to be some serious lockdown shit.
So I'll tell you what, man,
if I were living in,
I mean, I've got like a,
I've got a daughter that's 11.
Yeah.
Five years.
Yeah.
She's 16.
Yeah.
You better fucking believe
if I was living in a red state
that I would have this shit in my closet.
I would have this shit in my safe.
A hundred percent. Cause I would not chance it. Asshole, literal motherfuckers. God
damn fucking. Let's record this ad, Gary. Okay, coming in a little hot. Here we go. I'm fine.
Fucking go to adamandeve.com and use code glory. 50% off on almost any one item, three free things,
six free movies, free shipping. I got shit to do. Let's go. Let's go, please. Thank you.
You good, Dan? No, I'm fucking
angry. Did you not use code glory at checkout? No, Gary, maybe because everything is fucked.
You mean everyone can get fucked like the other ad when they go to adamandeve.com and use code
glory? No, Gary, although I can think of six people in robes that can get fucked. The Nazgul?
What? No. Well, actually, basically they are. So what do you want to do, Ian?
You know what? Maybe we should mail these politicians dildos because they're obviously
sexless fucking- Whoa, problematic, Ian. Are you really calling out the ace community? No,
stop trying to get me canceled, Gary. No. Shout out to our ace listeners. That's obviously not
who I'm talking about. And they can still send a dildo to these ding dong politicians. When they
use code glory, right? Yes.
You know I'm talking about these eternally celibate,
religio-fascist, dumb-headed, literal motherfucking assholes that are on the super-
Oh, you're spiraling.
No, I'm calling for a strike.
We're forming a fucking union.
Rise up the proletariat of sex.
They can get fucked by not getting fucked.
The only fucking that will happen is to ourselves.
Oh, a prison team proletariat.
Uh, sure. And guess what? Our code glory doesn't work for Republicans.
I'm not sure we can actually do that.
Okay, technically it still does, but you can't use it because you suck.
And if you wanna suck...
Not like that, Gary!
You know, Adam and Eve were unmarried and banging.
That's right.
And you know Adam was eating that fruit.
No, that was Eve.
Kinky.
Shut up, Gary.
Are we done yet?
Yes. Let's go get breakfast.
You want eggs?
Oh, you mean a chicken?
Uh, I see what you did there.
You stole glory at Adam and Eve dot com.
Fuck.
I manipulated the system.
Just because you bought it doesn't mean I'm right.
It's a technicality.
One more word out of you, Mr. E, and I'll hold you in contempt.
I hold myself in contempt!
Why should you be
any different? Take him away!
Children are not leverage!
Oh, no, don't do that!
I'm a naked psycho!
I'm a naked
psycho!
God.
This story comes from CNN.
Collins calls draft Ro row opinion completely inconsistent
with what gorsuch and kavanaugh said during hearings and meetings
let me put this on guys i just searched for shocked pikachu face so that's what i want to
do right now that's me shocked pikachu face there we go that's's me. There you go. That's Susan Collins.
Yeah. What the fuck?
And Murkowski said the same shit.
Murkowski said, oh, well, we asked
him and they said the other thing. What the fuck
is wrong with you? Why? Literally
nobody else believed them.
You had no reason.
You had no reason to believe that they were telling you the truth.
They were fucking handpicked
to lie to you about this issue.
They were selected, literally selected by a guy who said, I will pick people to do this.
What the fuck?
Believe people when they tell you what they're going to do.
It's amazing.
It's amazing.
It's like when Penn and Teller do the magic trick and they're telling you what they do.
Right.
And then you're like this at the end.
You're shocked.
You're like, Oh,
they did a magic trick.
It's not a mat,
but except for these guys aren't clever.
There's no magic trick.
They just lied to you.
That's all they did,
man.
I mean,
I don't care who you are.
If you,
you've got to,
if you're,
you got,
if you're like, I don't care if you like even go into like dinner with Susan Collins,
you've got at this point,
be sitting across and being like,
you're a genuinely stupid person do
you you feel bad waking but do you put your own pants on that's stupidity what it is is it's weasel
she's a weasel yeah she wants to get fucking weasel her way out of responsibility for this
bullshit yeah because okay because she brought it up she made a big fucking dog and pony show but
she still fucking voted with her party because she was too cowardly to step in and say, I don't want to vote for you.
Even if it doesn't matter, her vote probably didn't matter anyway.
That's true.
Let her play to the center.
Right.
But it let her play.
Yeah.
And then also be like, you know what?
I am still a Republican.
I'm still staunchly Republican.
It just matters.
Like, like Roe really matters to me.
And it lets her now easily slink away and be like, well, it's not my fault ro really matters to me and it and it lets her now easily slink away
and be like why well it's not my fault yeah they lied to me yeah bullshit bullshit you need to be
better at picking out bullshit or you're you're you're you're not worth anything in the fucking
senate no man like if you can't figure that out yeah like like you should be getting fucking
somebody should be selling you like like somebody should be getting fucking somebody should be selling you
like like somebody should be stealing your money from another country having you send it to them
via wire so you can get a job interview or something you're you're sending fucking google
play gift cards to nigerian exactly are you fucking kidding me are you fuck yeah i think
you're probably right i think she probably never believed it yeah she's just a shill she lets it lets her it lets. She's just a shill. It lets her play to the center right,
and it also lets her play to the far right.
She gets to play both sides,
and she gets to get away with it.
Fuck her.
And she gets to get away with it again.
And that's the thing.
And that's the thing with all of these people
who voted for these senators,
or voted for these Supreme Court justices.
And it's sickening.
It's sickening that it went down the way it did, right?
Filling Scalia's seat, waiting with Gorsuch, waiting.
That's sickening that that went down like that.
It's sickening how they filled
Ruth Bader Ginsburg's seat like that.
With two months.
With two months.
And how, I mean, like genuinely laughing
about how we're going to fuck you.
Right.
Because they had the control.
But man, that tells you in two instances, within four years, that if things would have been different, if there would have just been a majority in the Senate, in either one of those situations, that wouldn't have happened.
Wouldn't have happened.
Yeah.
Would not have happened.
Again, voting matters.
Yeah.
Like all of this stuff.
I mean, all of this stuff, it really does.
It comes back to this would not have happened if we had voted differently.
You can say every other thing.
Let's grant every other horror of the last four or five years.
Grant them all.
This one wouldn't have happened.
Yeah.
It's a big fucking deal.
And it's a big fucking deal.
And we start off the conversation,
but if you think about all the other decisions
that rest now on tenuous grounds,
based on that same reasoning,
who do they all protect?
They protect women.
They protect LGBTQ community.
They protect racial minorities.
Yeah.
White dudes are fucking fine.
Shock of shocks.
They've been fine.
Well, that's because they're in the constitution.
Right.
Yeah.
Right.
Because the constitution was written by them for them.
Yeah.
I mean, if you're a constitutional literate,
wouldn't that make you want to look at and be like,
well, you're actually only three fifths of a person.
Right.
Like, are you naturally racist if you're a fucking constitutional literate you have you know what man you fucking have to be if you're
like one of these founding fathers folators yeah like you fucking have to be because you all you
have to do is be like oh you know what actually it took 19 amendments before they recognized that
women get to vote yeah it took not well they nine, well, they were all dead. Yeah. They were all dead. None of those motherfuckers,
none of those founding fathers
that were so fucking,
we can't fucking.
They didn't live 141 years.
Right.
We cannot get the fucking taste
of their fucking cum
out of our fucking mouths.
Yeah.
We are so happy
to swallow them down.
Yeah.
Like,
they didn't figure out
that 51% of the population
were fucking people.
Yeah.
Outrageous.
Yeah.
Outrageous. They get shit wrong all the time yeah boris i've got a special when can you work him in i couldn't possibly
sneak him in until monday sir i'm booked solid monday splendid
that's all right it's all right tag it just a man and a horse being hung out there
well this story is certainly something i uh stories from axios.com uh esper says that trump
wanted to shoot protesters you gotta read what he says because i think that's the best part and he
didn't just want him shot didn't want to shoot him tom he wanted like here read what he says, because I think that's the best part. And he didn't just want him shot.
He didn't want to shoot him, Tom.
He wanted, here's what he wanted to do.
So he says,
former defense secretary Mark Esper
charges in a memoir out in May 10th
that former president Trump said
when demonstrators were filling the streets
around the White House
following the death of George Floyd,
quote,
can't you just shoot them?
Just shoot them in the legs
or something?
Can't you disable them?
Holy fuck!
Holy fuck!
Can't you just fucking kneecap them
with bullets?
Why can't we spray machine gun fire
into the legs of people
exercising their fucking
First Amendment right to protest?
How do we vote a guy
that's so fucking tragically stupid?
Jesus.
He's so like everybody around him.
It was like,
it's like when you just be like,
okay,
I'm going to give a gorilla my stock portfolio and just let him do whatever.
And whatever button he wants to push is what,
that's what it felt like.
And it felt like there was constantly a bunch of people trying to put bananas
on shit so they could lead Trump in the right direction.
Like where they're just constantly like,
Mr.
President,
um,
actually I'm just going to hold this against your nose and rub your head and
hopefully you'll take a nap.
Like he's like an alligator.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Right.
You know,
like they're just trying to move them into tonic immobility.
That's it. Just turn them upside down and put it down. Like he's like an alligator. Yeah, right. You know, like they're just trying to move him into tonic immobility.
That's it.
Just turn him upside down.
And then his little arms are pumping in the air.
Somebody rubs his belly and puts him to sleep.
He's trying to get a glass of water.
Give him a third hand. He needs.
How many books need to come out by people
that have been lifelong institutional Republicans.
Lifelong!
Because there's been
so many tell-alls, Cecil,
and these are not by...
If you want to say, oh, Woodward's always been
fine. Fucking take his book and throw it in the
trash. But at this point
we're like, holy shit.
Former Defense Secretary Mark
Esper? Holy shit. And former defense secretary, Mark Esper.
Holy shit.
And it's not the first one.
And they all tell the same story.
These aren't small ranking people.
This isn't just some random intern.
Man, his fucking former press secretary is like, that was a fucking nightmare.
His defense secretary is like, that guy wants to shoot people in the legs. Attorney General.
I know.
The whole book.
Bill Barr.
Yes.
Yes. They're like, Bill Barr, you know I know. The whole book. Bill Barr. Yes.
Like Bill Barr,
oh, he's a rhino.
Bill Barr's now a rhino?
Yeah, Bill Barr's a rhino.
Who the fuck?
At this point, dude,
these guys are so fucking crazy,
they're going to look at a rhino and be like,
that's not a rhino.
Like what the fuck?
It's insane to me
that we spent four years with a guy
who had, he had no awareness whatsoever of how
real life worked right he just had no idea none and he had no awareness of anything other than
himself for the entire time and never bothered to learn yeah he just spent the entire time with
people catering to him you know we knew we were fucked when he had no idea what to do during the coronavirus,
and he didn't even try to rely on other people.
It'll disappear like magic.
He was pushing people and experts away from saying important shit
that could have saved a lot of lives because he was just vain.
And you knew you were fucked then.
But the thing is,
is like that was happening in front of everyone.
This was all happening behind the scenes.
Yeah.
All this shit,
other stuff was happening behind the scenes
and it was just as crazy.
Just think of the moment when he looks over
at that bricks lady or whatever her name was.
Yeah.
And he's talking about shooting disinfectant
in his eye or whatever.
Can't we spray light at their liver?
Can't we just spray them with light?
Can't we just, don't we have light in a spray form?
Do we have a spray bottle?
Because I saw that Joy commercial,
and it looked like the lemon was a little bit,
it was like it was on fire, like it was like a sun.
Has anyone tried scrubbing bubbles?
I've seen scrubbing bubbles.
They're very small.
They get the mildew out of gutter.
It's great of your lungs
get the Mr. Clean in here
he knows what he's doing
and while you're at it get the bounty guy
they'll rip this
in fact they're in charge now
they're in charge of the whole pandemic
bring the Charmin Bears
it's just so stupid
it's so bad
that moment where he looks at her
and he says that dumb shit,
that was happening
every moment of his presidency.
It just wasn't public.
I know.
There are so many moments.
There's too many to look back on
and they're all tragic,
but there's one image
that I absolutely love
where he's staring at the eclipse.
Do you remember that?
That's the best.
He's just straight staring at the fucking eclipse.
And you're like, God damn, you are genuinely.
He's like fucking Gilligan on the port of a ship staring out into the distance.
He's a stupid, stupid fucking man.
I saw this.
I saw this interesting article.
It's from like 2021, but I read it today because I was looking at literacy. I was reading about literacy today. And if you look at one of the examples from the article, it's like, you know,
one of the problems that we have, and this relates to Trump very much, is that if you look at the Colorado Democratic National
Platform website, the writing is voluminous and the reading level of the writing is a 12th grade
level. And the problem is that 54% of Americans read at or below the sixth grade. Oh, wow. Okay.
So literacy has been on the decline for decades and it's not getting better. We have a literacy crisis going on, and 54% of Americans read at or below the sixth grade level.
So it's getting bad, right?
If you look at the Colorado Republican National Platform website, there are so few words that you can't run a literacy analysis.
I'm not even kidding.
So it's not even sixth grade. You can't't run a literacy analysis. I'm not even kidding. So it's not even sixth grade or it's, it's, you can't even run a literacy analysis. It's written by Clippy. Yes. Yeah. It's
just images and slogans. Wow. Like little two word slogans, like pictures of Colorado. It's all
memes. Yeah. And the thing is that we have a meme president. Yeah. Right. Well, we had, we had a
meme president running the country for years and this
shit comes out he's like shoot him in the legs and you're like you can't shoot but also but and
i know this is semantic but like remember when we took the the shooty class yeah and you they tell
you everybody like all these defense people like you don't shoot people in the legs you always
shoot for center mass because like legs are smaller targets and they're moving.
Like nobody shoots people in the legs.
It's a person who has no idea what they're talking about.
You don't know even how to kill people.
It's a dumb thing to say.
Everything about this is wrong and illegal
and it's a terrible violation of their civil rights.
But also you also are so stupid
you don't even know how hurting people works.
But also it's
impractical right that's the thing it's like you're just like you're just like can't we just
run a lawnmower through them it's the time it's what it's it it's so embarrassing and so cringy
after the fact but it's scary too i know it's scary too because if we had different people
around him people would have been shot it could have been
different it could have been different people would have been shot there's a possibility there's
so many stories from 2016 to 2020 there are so many stories from so many high-ranking people
and there's so so much corroboration of times people stopped him from doing insane shit do
you remember when he wanted to bomb a hurricane remember when he wanted to bomb a hurricane? He wanted to bomb a hurricane.
When he was so fragile, he drew on that picture
that it actually was
going to go to Alabama.
Here's the thing. Imagine
a leadership of
Rick Perry and
Ron DeSantis.
Imagine if everybody around you
was a sycophantic,
dumbass, scientifically illiterate.
Yes, man.
Yeah, man.
What if there were no establishment?
Because we're getting to a point where the establishment guys are aging out and quitting.
So who's going to be the breaks next time?
I don't think you got them.
You've got the young guys.
You busted the breaks up.
Right.
Trump shed those people.
Yep.
They're out of the system.
He shed them like crazy.
Every single one of them,
he would fire in six months.
Yep.
They would be a safety valve
and he would get rid of them.
Yep.
And now where are they?
So,
writing books.
Right.
So what's it going to be like
when it's like Marjorie Taylor Greene
and Madison Cawthorn
and Matt Gaetz
and fucking Rhonda Santana.
Like the,
the clown cars,
they're going to be bombing hurricanes, man.
Yeah, no, yeah.
We're going to be shooting
fucking missiles at clouds.
They're going to be bombing
American citizens.
They are, yeah.
They'll just murder American citizens.
They're going to put a fucking plow
on a fucking cop car
and just drive it through crowds.
Absolutely.
It's a fucking horror.
Fuck.
Fuck.
Fuck. Fuck. Fuck. Fuck. Fuck. Mother of Madison C carthorne huffing to post madison carthorne says blackmail won't win
after nude thrusting video leaks video i didn't watch the video okay should i watch the video
hold on a second so let me i'm gonna read about the video um let me see if i can find it so i just found this video and it's it's madison cawthorne humping his
cousin and now people who aren't watching this what what you see is a naked madison cawthorne
now someone has covered his ass with his with a with a superimposed image of his face but there
are there are versions of this video without with naked ass. And he's clearly buck-ass naked
with his dick out, slapping
it in his cousin's face. Now, you can't really see
his cousin's face. He's kind of underneath.
He's under the covers. But he looks like he's
fucking, like, humping. And so
this is what it sounds like. For people at home, this is
what it sounds like. For people who are
watching, you can also see it.
Oh my god. watching you can also see it and so nice he's on top of him fucking dry humping
it
okay so I have so many questions he's digging in his face your ass is on my face oh my god
okay so
I have so many questions
dude that is weird as shit
first of all
first off
I
your dirty talk is weird man
that is
what
what is that
that is
what is that
but I also like
like
like who's that comfortable
naked around their cousin?
How many, how many naked cousin hours have you logged?
Zero?
Exactly zero.
I've logged zero.
Exactly zero.
Now, don't get me wrong.
Like, like I know some cousins that later, like that are like in-law relations in some way.
And there was like a bunch of kids and they were all going into like a,
like a kiddie pool when I was like over at their house
and all the kids,
and we're talking like six and down to like two.
And there's a bunch of cousins.
They all just got buck ass naked.
Dude, that's different though.
They're kids.
And they jumped into the pool together.
Still felt a little weird to me,
but whatever, however it works, whatever.
You're your parents, not me, whatever.
I felt uncomfortable.
So I left. I was like, all right, don't want to be around a bunch me, whatever. I felt uncomfortable, so I left.
I was like, all right,
I don't want to be around a bunch of naked kids.
I'm a grown man.
Right.
I will be somewhere else.
But it's not weird for those kids.
I'm going to go see where the beer is.
Right.
Yes.
No, no.
Yeah, absolutely, man.
But like the kids don't have a sense of like weirdness or propriety.
I get it.
Yeah.
But I will say this,
like not a single time in my life has that happened.
And then like to be like,
like that's it.
That's just,
that's just a level of chummy naked that I've never had with anyone.
We've been friends for 20 some years.
We've never hung out in bed naked together.
That's weird,
man.
That's a weird thing that people don't usually do.
I would just feel weird if we were like in a room, like in a locker room, naked and talking.
I would feel weird.
I'd be like, I'm going to tell.
I'm just going to get told.
Well, you and I have gone camping.
Yeah.
You know, like it's not like we've like gone traveling together.
We've shared hotel rooms.
Sure.
Yeah.
But like there's never been a time that I've been like, I'm going to sleep naked.
That's so, that's just a straight.'s an unusual it's an unusual no fucking level but that's like it's an unusual
that's a strange that's not normal it's an unusual comfort level and he like someone else and blows
this off like oh we're just screwing around it's like yeah i saw that absolutely uga shaka uga or
whatever you were saying who sticks their dick in in another dude's face is like a weird prank and like
humpster.
That's what is happening.
It's like a hundred.
What is happening?
Boy stuff though.
Yeah.
You know,
like where it's at,
like sexual bullying stuff.
Yeah.
Like sexual bull.
Exactly.
We had a friend who was in a frat.
Yeah.
And like he was sexually bullied,
sexually bullied a lot.
Yeah.
And that,
and he told us stories about that stuff. And that's
like, and I'm not saying all frats, don't send me your email
if you're in a frat and you liked it. I don't care.
I literally, it does not affect me.
I'm not saying all frats are
not all frats. Hashtag not all frats.
I'm just saying we had a friend who was
in one who explained some of this. And that
does happen. That does happen
in those situations. It's possible.
Like, I don't care
that he, like, I don't, I actually don't
care that he does this, right? I don't
care at all. Like, if he wants to
be naked with his cousin, I don't care if he
fucks his cousin right in the mouth.
Like, I literally, that's not my mouth.
I don't care. I think it's
fucking weird, but I also don't
give a shit. Like, I think it's weird in the sense
that, like, it doesn't fucking affect me.
So I won't think about it ever.
Right.
Yeah.
So, but the point is that Madison Cawthorns, like his whole fucking platform is a sex negative
platform.
His whole platform is an LGBTQ negative platform.
Absolutely.
He is a, he is a hardcore traditionalist bigot.
Yeah.
That's who he is.
And he is calling out other people for their quote unquote sexual exploits, right?
Right.
Talking about the orgies or whatever that was happening, the lying about the orgies that were happening, et cetera.
Coke orgies.
Right.
And then there's like photos of him like dressed up in like lingerie with a bunch of ladies.
And you're like, look, I don't care that you do that.
I literally do not care.
You don't even pass your impurity test.
Right.
But you're shaming the shit
out of everybody else.
And the thing is that
he will work to disenfranchise
other people.
Other people, yeah.
Because he knows
that as a fucking cis white guy,
none of it ever blows back on him.
Never happened.
He can fuck his cousin's mouth
all he wants.
He can.
And it can happen.
And it could happen
right before his election.
Yep.
And it wouldn't matter.
It's the same thing that happened with Trump
where he can grab him by the pussy.
It's the same thing.
Does not matter.
Fucking, he's slapping his fucking cousin in the face
with his snuffle-uffagus.
Yep.
And it doesn't matter.
Do you remember when like fucking Al Franken
got canceled for not even touching,
but air touching a woman's breasts while she was sleeping.
And that was genuinely an egregious violation,
right?
They took a picture.
It was a picture that,
that made this woman feel violated.
That dude resigned from Congress.
Yeah.
He resigned the right.
There's nothing.
There's a lot.
There's nothing.
There's literally nothing that there's nothing. There's a lot. There's nothing. There's literally nothing.
There's no level
to rise to or slink below.
It matters not a whit.
You're right.
Not a whit.
Not at all.
You are the hackle tweak,
but you are bug bite squared.
What kind of bug?
About to get fucked up,
bitch beetle.
Hey, come on.
Cool it, you guys.
Step back. Freaking frack. Er, come on. Cool it, you guys. Step back.
Freckin' frack.
Ernie's on the attack.
What is this?
Come on.
I'm desperately afraid.
I'm going to knock your nads up into your nostrils for talking to your betters that way.
All right.
I'm a technician.
You're an interloper.
You are constitutionally incapable of not shutting the fuck up.
Shut the fuck up!
So this story comes from the Daily Beast.
How Alex Jones' conspiracy empire
has kept itself going even while being
banned from social media.
So this is a super interesting
fucking article. And actually our friends
from the Knowledge Fund. Yeah, we talked about this last week
with Jordan and Dan.
They're in this article. They're mentioning this article.
Yeah, Dan's mentioned this article. And these guys are
in it. They're fucking in it. They are entwined with this. They're mentioned in this article. Yeah, Dan's mentioned in this article. And these guys are in it. They're fucking in it.
They are entwined with this. They know this
stuff so well that people,
reporters, reach out to them to ask them
questions on what they think is in
the mind of Alex Jones.
They are legit.
Mad props where it's due.
Those guys have become...
They are not just reaction video guys.
Yeah.
Dan and Jordan,
like they do the work,
man.
They do the research.
What's,
what's amazing about this article is that the Alex Jones might be off Twitter.
Alex Jones is off Facebook.
Alex Jones is off the stuff,
right?
He's not doing any of this stuff yet,
but he's got all these proxies.
He,
that that's really,
he's got all these like other people that are connected to all of his
conspiracy website bullshit yes and they are not all they're not all banned right so they all they
do is they create fucking buzz and make noise and post insane shit i will read some of the shit
they post insane shit and they believe insane shit. And then they just, they go on and they feed everything back.
They share it in the places where he can't be.
They're, you know, they're his proxy in the world.
Yep.
And they do, they basically do his bidding because they're in, they're entrenched in
all the same conspiracies that he is.
And they're selling the same conspiracies, whether or not they believe him, who knows,
right?
But they're selling the same conspiracies he is.
And what's happening is, is that they're taking these things to all these different platforms that he's been removed from, that he can't go to, can't go to YouTube.
He can't go to, he can't go to Twitter, Facebook. He doesn't have any of those things. But what he
does is, what he does have is a, is still a repository on the internet for all his work.
Yep. And they will bring them all back. All these people that are still on those places that believe all the same
stuff he does will still capture the same level of audience or about the same
level audience and bring them back to him in the same manner that he would
have brought them to himself.
Yep,
man.
This is like,
he's got like a bunch of fucking pied pipers.
Yeah.
Yeah.
That's really what he's got is he just sends out like a fucking army.
You can't take it.
Crazy conspiracy pied pipers. You can't take it. Crazy conspiracy pied pipers.
You can't take,
you can't take him unless you remove him from the internet.
Right.
There's nothing you can do.
The only thing I can hope is that the massive,
unbelievable amount of weird drugs that guy must take at some point will blow
that man's heart out.
There's no way that guy isn't on all the stuff.
All the coke, all the time.
I can't even imagine.
I'll tell you a funny story.
I was getting my hair cut the other day.
My barber is a nationally ranked and top one or two power lifter.
He's an enormous man.
And it's intimidating as shit because he's enormous.
And then he has these scissors that look like nothing
in his enormous meatball.
How tall is he?
He's a fairly tall guy for
a powerlifter. I want to say,
I would guess he's 5'10", almost
maybe 5'11". He's just wide
or whatever? Well, it's all weight class
so he's like 220.
But he's like deadlift, like 800 and change.
Jesus Christ. It's unreal. Soifts like 800 and change it's unreal like he's
so so we're there and he and i are talking and like he and i get along real well
and like next to us in the chair over is a guy who's like every bit of 65 years old
and the guy is enormous the guy next to us in the chair next to us is jacked is absolutely jacked
the guy next to us in the chair next to us is jacked is absolutely jacked and like the guy actually ended up saying some incredibly like horrifying shit to the young lady that was
cutting his hair like i would have stepped in i actually asked my barb i'm like should i say
something like this can't stand he's like no no that's her deal like that's a client like don't
step on toes but like in the real world if i hadn't been told not to like he was like really
aggressively pushing limits with this young lady so like the guy leaves and my barber's like, that guy is on so much juice. Like that guy
is on so much gear. He's a huge, but he's like 65 years old. He's like, he's going to blow out
his kidneys, blow out his liver and blow out his heart. And this is coming from a guy who like
competes as a power lifter and absolutely uses gear. Like we talk about it all the time.
Like Alex Jones is going to blow out every single one of his organs.
Like one by one,
like firecrackers.
Yeah.
They're just going to fucking pop down the line.
He is.
That is the best hope.
Yeah.
That is the best hope is that one day he fucking goes apoplectic
and his head explodes like scanners.
Alex Jones has spread so much misinformation,
so much disinformation.
He's been actively attacking the information ecosystem
for decades.
Decades.
And, you know, the world would be better off
without an Alex Jones.
Yeah, it would.
But, you know, I think Dan in this says that there's a possibility
that just because he goes away doesn't mean his message stops.
That's the thing is, to some degree,
the damage is already done.
Yeah.
But I do wonder how much,
and we'll find out when he does go, right?
I do wonder how much of the damage
is connected to the cult of personality.
And I don't know, because he's a big forceful personality.
Sure, sure. No, it's just like Trump, right? You don't know what's going to happen next
election cycle if he doesn't run. If somebody tries to be Trump in the next election cycle,
will they be able to pull it off?
Yeah. And like Ron DeSantis is like mini Trump, right? We talked about this before. He's like
an adolescent autocrat. He's the up and coming, but he's not Trump. No, you know,
he's not. People aren't flying DeSantis flags. No, people don't have DeSantis boats. You're right.
Boat brigades. And I don't think they're going to. Yeah. Yeah. So to some degree, there's an
element of like personality cult that guys like Alex Jones, for whatever reason, have created.
Yeah.
So, but I want to read some of this stuff that his proxies are putting out into the world.
So, they're talking about this, one of these proxies, this guy Reese. Some of Reese's highest trafficking content on banned video contains conspiracy theories about COVID-19 and vaccines.
for the platform.
He claims that the Pfizer vaccine contains nanotech activated by 5G broadband signals
to build an internal electronic system
with an endless potential for biomanipulation
in people who are vaccinated.
That has more than a million views.
Yeah.
A million people have gotten that message.
I'm not saying a million people believed it.
No.
But a million people are in a place called banned video.
Yeah.
Tolerating that message. Yeah. Yeah. That's a lot of people, man. It is, man. in a place called banned video. Yeah. Tolerating that message.
Yeah.
Yeah.
That's a lot of people, man.
It is, man.
It's a lot of people.
It's a lot of people.
Yeah.
We're all, well, a million people died from COVID.
Yeah.
A million people watch this video.
A million people watch this video.
Yeah.
I would say maybe there might be a correlation.
It's not, it's not zero.
It's not zero.
It's crazy, man.
This guy, and there's other stuff he's talking about, Nazi shit, and these people say racist stuff.
Crazy racist stuff.
So he's regurgitating flat earth conspiracy theories.
In one video, he alleges that QAnon, I love this.
He alleges that QAnon conspiracy theories are meant to brainwash their followers to religiously trust the plan without question and be submissive to a new world order
to take over the world.
That is some fucking conspiracy level six
inception bullshit.
That's a level down.
He's a level down.
As a conspiracy theorist,
how many tinfoil hats can you wear?
Right.
Do you have to shape them all differently?
How do you know which one to get on Tuesday versus Wednesday?
One looks like the swan you get when you leave a fancy restaurant.
You know?
That's right.
It's like a goose or whatever.
It's like one of them like aluminum foil and the other one's aluminium foil.
You're like, oh.
This one keeps out the British 5g.
Well,
one of them has,
one of them's using the dull side and one's using the shiny side.
Got it.
You gotta choose.
You gotta make a decision.
Yeah.
Holy shit,
dude.
And,
and it's scary because you know,
you can post whatever you want on the internet.
I mean,
you can post whatever you want and you can be as racist and as shitty and
have shitty ideas and reinforce those shitty ideas and drag people to your shitty ideas through stuff that you know is going to tune them up and introduce them to bad shit. what was the trigger for something? But there was some conspiracy theory or some bad idea
that got people on TikTok
within like six views,
got them to transphobic stuff.
Yeah, I remember this.
You know, I remember like,
I don't remember what the trigger was.
And I'll be honest,
I don't care what it was.
It was one of those things
where it literally got you.
It was like six degrees of Kevin Bacon,
but it was six degrees of transphobia.
Right, right.
Within seconds, TikTok,
and we talked about this on the stream, about how quickly
you scroll through stuff.
On TikTok, you could scroll through something
how quickly you could get
to some transphobic
stuff just from one of these things.
And I want to say it had something to do with either
anti-immigration or it was like
something about nationalism
or something like that. I thought it started off.
If I remember,
I thought it started off as fairly innocuous,
but it could swing right or left.
It was like a wedge issue.
Yeah.
Start.
Yeah.
I don't know.
I don't remember.
I know what you're talking about,
but it was only a few,
but you're a handful of a few algorithmic decisions,
a couple of pushes and you could be over the edge and that can,
and that's the thing is like,
I don't think anybody who's everybody who's going to go here is going to swallow everything.
But I do think people who go there are ready to believe something. Right. And, you know,
when you put something in front of a bunch of people that happens to be, you know, racist or
happens to be anti-gay or happens to be, you know, like that's, that's, that's, that's violating
other humans. Yep. You know, that's a, that's, that's, that's violating other humans. You know, that's a,
that's a thing that you're dragging people to and teaching them to hate. And this guy is nothing but
a person who loves to seed hate. Well, and they also, they lay out a sort of like conspiracy
buffet table. And it doesn't matter if you don't like everything in the buffet, right? So people
come and maybe they're not there for the lizard people,
but maybe they're there for the 5G.
And maybe they don't buy the 5G, but they like the nanotech.
And maybe they don't like the nanotech, but they believe in the globalists.
And maybe the globalists aren't there.
But the point is that if you pepper the buffet table with enough choices,
people will fill their plate.
But at the end of the day, it's all the same shit, right?
Go to a buffet.
There's only two flavors, sweet and salty.
That's it, right?
Especially in old country.
Right.
You know, that's it.
There's not real diversity there.
It's all the same fucking, you know, chafing dish garbage.
So you go to these conspiracy websites.
They don't need to have one consistent, cohesive narrative. What they need to do is have so many interwoven, interlocked narratives that you're able to play
choose your own conspiracy. And then you'll do it for hours and just stay there. Yep. Yeah. And
then you'll be influenced by all these bad ideas. But at the end of the day, they all lead to
racism. Yeah. At the end of the day, they all lead to marginalization. At the end of the day they all lead to marginalization at the end of the day they all lead to the same hegemonic
attempts to consolidate
power in the hands of the same
white dudes that have always had power
absolutely
it's there to manipulate for that
for that reason
so we'd like to thank our patrons of course we'd like to thank our patrons.
Of course, we'd like to thank all our patrons.
We'd like to thank our newest patrons,
Sky, Veronica, AHA, Black Cherry,
Coffee, Sparkling Water is the literal Christian devil.
Jesus Christ, that sounds disgusting.
Black Cherry, Coffee, Sparkling Water.
I like Black Cherry though.
Coffee in there probably- But coffee sounds terrible in there. Black cherry coffee, sparkling water? I like black cherry though. Coffee in there probably-
But coffee sounds terrible in there.
Coffee in like a sparkling water
sounds like so synthetic and terrible.
It genuinely sounds like it would be awful.
Do you like nitro?
Yeah, it's not bad.
I like nitro.
I actually have a nitro thing at home.
I make my own nitro at home.
Nice.
Yeah, I got it as a gift.
You have your own nitrous at home too?
Yeah.
Yeah, well, you buy nitrogen. No, I got it as a gift. You have your own nitrous at home too? Yeah. Yeah. Well, you use, you get, you buy,
you buy a nitrogen canister.
No,
it's different than nitrous oxide.
It's nitrogen.
Oh,
okay.
All right.
Unfortunately.
I've never,
I've never done Whippets.
I have never tried them,
you know?
So like I just,
they scare me,
but yeah,
I make nitro all the time,
but bubbly water night,
you know?
There was a Pepsi that came out recently,
a Pepsi nitro.
Have you tried this?
No.
It's in a can.
So it's like a Guinness,
you know how Guinness? Yeah. Yeah. tried this? No. It's in a can, so it's like a Guinness. You know how in Guinness?
Yeah, yeah.
So I drank it out of the can and maybe I should have poured it
into a glass.
I don't know
if it would have made it any better,
but it seriously tastes like flat Pepsi.
That's gross.
It didn't taste like anything.
Were you supposed to rotate it or anything?
I don't know.
It doesn't say.
It doesn't say on the can?
I wouldn't know.
Maybe next time I'll try to buy one
and see if I rotate it.
I'm not a Pepsi.
My dad loved Pepsi.
Pepsi is so sweet.
I wouldn't mind trying a Coke
or a Pepsi
in a nitro situation.
I would either.
I would try that.
That sounds like a good idea,
but in this canned form,
it wasn't for me.
You and I are the same, man.
I love pop.
I love soda.
I try not to drink it very often,
but I absolutely love it. I love, you know what I love it very often, but I absolutely love it.
I love,
you know what I love
is those fucking,
what do you call it?
The machines that they have
at Five Guys
that have a million different things.
Yeah, you make suicides.
My favorite though,
my favorite though is Barks.
If you dig down deep enough
in the Barks,
there's a vanilla root beer.
Oh shit.
And it's so fucking good, man.
Really?
It's so good. Vanilla root beer. Oh, shit. And it's so fucking good, man. Really? It's so good.
Vanilla root beer is outstanding,
man. I love that machine because you
can get like cherry
Coke with vanilla. Yeah. And that's so
good. It's so good. That's so good.
It's so good, yeah. Yeah. I love that shit.
When I've got billionaire money, I'm getting one of those
machines. I'm buying one of those machines, too. Studio money.
That's the best. How much fucking money does one of these things
cost? It's got to be... It's got to be tens of thousands of dollars.
Astro,
we got to get one for the studio.
Then you got to like
clean out all the bullshit.
All the lines and everything.
Because there's so many
different lines.
Because there's like
50 different fucking sodas.
Dude,
the amount of stuff
behind that machine
has got to be ridiculous.
I'm going to look at how much
does a five guys soda
$11,500. $11,000. How much does a five guys soda?
$11,500. $11,000.
Yikes.
We need to get a goal going here.
$11,500.
That would be awesome to have though.
That would be so great.
It's so funny.
So we want to mention right away that next week on Skeptics in a Pub UK,
it's going to be this
upcoming Thursday
at noon. Thursday, May the 12th.
You can check us out live. We're going to be doing
a live Skeptics in a Pub.
If you're in the UK, that's like 7 o'clock your time.
And you can catch us and go
watch the talk about our book, The Grand Unified
Theory of Bullshit that we're going to have with Marsh.
You know, where can they buy
the book?
Amazon is a great place to get both copies of the printed book,
both the hardcover and paperback.
And Kindle. You can also get
an electronic copy, Kindle.
And then if you want to get a voice copy,
you can go to a ton of different places
that aren't Audible. So you can go to Apple.
You can go to Nook.
You can go to Google, you can go to Nook, you can go to Google Play,
all the other like scribbed and stuff and all kinds of various apps that you can play audiobooks
in except for audible. But you can also just go to our website and buy a copy of the book,
which is the cheapest way to get it and the easiest way to get it and then you get a copy that you could just have forever
and then just have.
So it's, but it's a full audio book, eight hours
and it's mastered by myself and Ian
and Tom read most of it.
There's a couple of like small chapters
that are other people,
but Tom read most of it
and Tom did such a great job reading this book.
It is absolutely outstanding.
Tom nailed all the inflection.
He crushed it.
And so it's a really,
genuinely,
I feel like the way
to consume this book
is the audio book.
You guys are already
used to listening to us.
Yeah.
So this is just another way
to listen to us.
Yeah, and it's great.
It's eight hours of the book
and the book we are proud of.
So if you haven't checked it out,
please do so.
But next week,
come check us out. Skeptics in the Pub. Marsh is great.
We're going to have a lot of fun. We're going to just chit-chat with him
and just enjoy our time. So come check it
out live. And if not, we'll share the link afterwards.
But check the show notes and you'll know where to go.
Also check social that day and we'll
post exactly where you can go.
We got a message. This is from
Dutchie.
This is from Dutchie. And Dutchie says,
hey,
just wanted to let you know
that you guys are,
if you guys are enjoying
Doctor Who.
And I said,
I enjoyed Doctor Who.
And you said you enjoyed Doctor Who.
But this was like,
I don't know if it was on the stream
or if it was on the show last week.
But in any case,
he mentions British sci-fi
called Sapphire and Steel.
It stars David McCollum,
the man from Uncle,
and someone who I don't know.
And it says they're basically
here to protect Earth.
And that sounds a lot like...
It does have a Doctor Who-esque kind of feel.
So he says it's really good.
And it looks like it ran for about three years.
And so I'll look for it.
All right, so this is a voicemail we got the
other day. Hey, this is Travis from Minneapolis. Just wanted to call in regards to the Jehovah's
Witnesses. It turns out that you can go on their website and sign up to have people come to your
house and talk to you about Jehovah's Witnesses and they'll send you stuff on your birthday or
literally any other day of the
week. It also turns out that you can do that for anyone, which is what my brother-in-law did for
me. Fuck you, Austin. That's great. That's so great. I agree. Fuck you, Austin. Jesus.
I didn't know that was a thing. I think we should send Jehovah's Witnesses to all of our Republican
Congress people.
We got a message back from Nathan. Now, Nathan last week left
a message that said, hey,
hi, I'm Nathan from Rochester, home of the
garbage plate. Now, Tom, I want
you to read what a garbage
plate is, starting out with
right here where he says what it basically
is. Fucking hell.
Alright.
It's featured at burger places that are different
names, like the junkyard plate, the trash plate. The originator of the garbage plate is a particular
restaurant, Nick's. It's basically two cheeseburgers served on top of cold macaroni salad and hot home
fries. Then the burgers are topped with chopped onions and a hot meat sauce
and it serves as a side of Italian bread and butter.
What the fucking why?
Dude, I'll tell you why.
That's literally all the stuff they had left over
in the restaurant that they needed to get rid of
before it's spoiled.
Yeah, they stacked it.
And they stacked it all on one plate
and they sold it to you.
And it's literally spoiled food.
I could get, look,
I could kind of maybe get behind the burger
on top of some fry, like home fries.
All right, fine.
Like you're kind of making,
you ever like go to like a breakfast place
and get like a skillet?
Like a skillet, yeah.
Delicious.
On top of like, on top of like home fries.
It's got like hash browns or home fries as the base.
You put an egg on there.
I get like the chorizo and stuff.
It's great, right?
But what the fuck is the cold mac salad doing in that dish?
What is the cold mac salad doing?
It's like the cold mac salad.
That's where you lose me.
And then you're like, okay,
well, let's just dump a bunch of onions on it too.
And then what is a hot meat sauce?
What does that even, what does that phrase mean?
I don't know what that means.
Hot meat sauce?
It means so many different things, right? And if you want a hot meat sauce. What does that even, what does that phrase mean? I don't know what that means. Hot meat sauce? It means so many different things, right?
And if you want a hot meat sauce,
you can head over to adamandeve.com.
Type in Gloria Checkout,
get your hot meat sauce.
Now, Nathan, I'm sorry.
I'm just selling,
I'm just telling you right now,
you didn't sell it to me.
That's all I'm saying, Nathan.
You didn't sell it to me.
Nathan, nobody wants the hot meat sauce.
Somebody will tolerate the hot meat sauce
if they love you.
So, check out
our stream. We just recorded a stream
this last,
it was Thursday night.
We had a lot of fun. We watched a video
about a guy who doesn't believe birds exist as
a joke, and it's actually really funny.
So, check it out. We're also, like I said,
please join us for the Skeptics
in a Pub on Thursday and we're also live streaming
on Thursday night. So come check us out
then. And that's
going to wrap it up for this week. Check the show notes for all that
stuff and we're going to be back next week
but we're going to leave you like we always do with the
