This is Cognitive Dissence.
Starting point is 00:01:16 Every episode, we blast anyone who gets in our way. We bring critical thinking, skepticism, and irreverence. any topic that makes the news, makes it big or makes us mad. It's skeptical. It's political. And there is no Mitch McConnell. Today is... We don't know. We don't know for sure. Somebody had a 30-minute conversation with it the other day. I sure they did. It was, I don't know, one of the people. I don't know. The best part was, did you see fucking Massey posted the other day? Someone had posted the other day something like Mitch McConnell. I had a conversation with Mitch McConnell. I think 30-minute conversation with Mitch McConnell.
Starting point is 00:01:55 He's doing well and he's in good spirits. We talked about, you know, how U.S. foreign policy for a little bit and he's hopefully on the mend or something like that. It was a conversation. And it was somebody who was like in the Republican Party somewhere and I don't remember exactly who it was. But Thomas Massey posted,
Starting point is 00:02:13 I spoke to Mitch McConnell today for 20 minutes this morning, basically covering, doing the exact same line that the other person did. And he said, told me that we should get out of Iran, stop giving Israel money, and he was sorry about how my primary turned out. And that after that, he's trolling his own after that, I just saw dozens of those posts from random people, just random people all over the internet.
Starting point is 00:02:38 This is just a same poem. Exactly. I spoke to Mitch McConnell. I spoke to Mitch McConnell poem, you know. Did you see somebody called him Rigger Tortoise? Super amazing. Oh, my God. The thing is, is like, here's, here's all I want to say about it, right?
Starting point is 00:02:56 Like, one, he's probably dead, okay? Or he's brain dead and they're just like fucking some weird head in a jar thing going on that's happening behind this means. He's keeping his heart beating. He's keeping his heart beating. And, and, but the thing that is fucking crazy is his wife is just like, I'm out. Dude, what is that? Is she just fucking in China right now? Just gone?
Starting point is 00:03:19 What even is that? What a loving. sweet relationship is either, come on, the guy's got to be dead. How is it that he's not dead or brain dead? And your wife is just like, well, I, you know, I had this trip plan for a wife. I mean, you can't let it spoil your vacation. I got these six flag tickets. And I want to go on the white water rampage.
Starting point is 00:03:49 I love that, right? The log jam. Look, I am an American patriot. I'm going on the American Eagle. That's how it works. Like, let's get on that fucking coaster and let's ride, baby. Oh, gosh. I'm going to get on the shock wave.
Starting point is 00:04:01 It's going to move my head around. Mitch is going to be next to me flopping all over the place. His brain dead ass is smacking it. Yeah. Mitch McConnell is so healthy that he can't talk to any reporters. I know. Or leave the hospital. That's how healthy he is.
Starting point is 00:04:16 He's so healthy that while he's there, he can talk only to people who, already agree that he's so healthy and that's not strategically super valuable to us, please, and thank you. I have, come the fuck on. I have waiting for us the dancing cemetery funeral guys ready to go the moment we find out Mitch McConnell is actually deceased. I think what happened probably is he's probably brain dead.
Starting point is 00:04:45 I think that this is a conversation they don't want to have, right? Well, I think from what I've read, There's a significant strategic value if he dies in three weeks. Yeah. So if you're a Republican and he dies or is incapacitated and comes out of the running right now, my understanding is that they are then required to hold a special election in order to fill that seat. And in that seat now, it would not be a guarantee that a Republican would pick up that seat. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:05:13 Could be massy as an independent. Right. So they're fearful of that. By the way, just want to point out for everyone else except for Republicans, that sucks. Right. Massey's a piece of shit. Like the only thing Massey disagreed with Trump on, and I'll probably be corrected, someone will be like, oh, well, he actually disagreed on this particular bill or whatever. But from what I've seen, he's pretty MAGA.
Starting point is 00:05:36 He does all the same stuff. He just happens to think that Epstein stuff should be out in the open. Like, that's the one major disagreement. So who the fuck cares in comparison, right? Thomas Massey, like, just just to call it out, he voted with Trump over 90% of the time. Yeah. Like he voted on Trump-backed measures and Trump. So, like, he is absolutely not some, like, new liberal hero.
Starting point is 00:06:00 No, absolutely not. He's a guy who got, he bucked the system a little bit. He paid a penalty. He got thrown away by his party. And now he's angry about it. And he's become, like, a little bit of a troll. And that's all that that is. And understand that's not going to mean his vote goes with the Democrats.
Starting point is 00:06:17 Oh, yeah, exactly. That's not going to mean. What it's going to mean is he's going to vote the same way he's been voting forever. And on occasion, he may stick it to somebody. But it's pretty rare. And then you've got to wait for that to happen. It's like those movies where you have to like ally yourself with the bad guy in order to get something. Because like the bad guy is the only guy that can help you.
Starting point is 00:06:37 And then you get fucked in the end. That's essentially what you're doing. You'd be aligning yourself with a bad guy. I'd much rather have, you know, a left voice in there. But you're not going to get that. in Kentucky. Well, I do think that the Republicans are genuinely worried that that is more possible than it's ever been. I'm not saying it's not possible.
Starting point is 00:06:55 I'm just saying, I'm not sure it's going to happen. Same, man. I don't think we should be, I mean, the Grand Platner thing will tell us exactly how unsure we should be about everything. Yeah, exactly. But, like, it's so funny because there's nobody, this is exactly how Mitch McConnell would want to go, right? Just cock blocking the normal rules of government and the normal path of succession in order to, like, achieve victory through an administrative rule. Cherrymandering life,
Starting point is 00:07:21 charymandering death. I mean, you know what I mean? Yes, right. Yeah. Like, he, like, is there some way I can block Merrick Garland again?
Starting point is 00:07:28 No. It's like, this guy, according to reports, they showed up and did CPR on this guy. Yeah, yeah. I mean,
Starting point is 00:07:36 amazing. He's not doing good. And then they're just like, I don't know, he's still in the hospital 11 days later. That's normal and chill and cool and fine. It's got to be, I mean,
Starting point is 00:07:46 in my thoughts, it's almost certainly somebody who's brain dead. And you're never going to, I think a lot of people are like, well, why don't we know? Why don't we know? And you don't know because medical records are private. So let's talk a little bit about that, though, because I do feel like capacity. I feel like your medical records should be private, even if you're a federal official or a government official, right? I don't think anybody has a right to know how your last pap smear turned out.
Starting point is 00:08:10 That's not the American people's. It was fine, by the way. Thank you. Good. I'm glad to hear that. That's fine. The worst part. worst part was the cotton swab and where they had to put it.
Starting point is 00:08:20 But, yeah. You know, like, I don't think, like, people have a right to know all the intimate details of your medical history just because you're a senator. But I do think we always have a right to know your capacity. That's a great point. That's a great point. That's it. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:08:33 So, like, I don't have a right to know anything but capacity. Do I have a, like, there's been a couple of people now. And I'm going to forget. I don't remember their name, so forgive me. But there was a Republican congressperson recently who disappeared for 170 days. They wanted to have in like a dementia place or something like that. And then another one that ended up in a dementia place. They were gone for months.
Starting point is 00:08:51 That person was gone for like eight months. I think it was a Democratic woman, if I'm not mistaken. There was a Republican guy who was gone for 117 days. He was like in an inpatient facility for depression. Captured by pirates for a while. He got, he got press ganged into the open seas. He's like Caesar from back in the day when Caesar gets captured by pirates. Like I don't feel like if I stopped showing up for work for 117 days or in months.
Starting point is 00:09:16 And I don't tell anybody and nobody knows if I'm capable of doing my job. That's not a thing. Well, and I think to add one to that, there should be an independent commission that every year gives people cognitive tests. Yeah. Right? You have to have a cognitive test. This is a brain job. You got a brain job.
Starting point is 00:09:36 You've got to use your brain. If you can't use your brain, shouldn't have a brain job. Your job should now be along to somebody else who can use their brain. So we need to be able to put that in as a standard. You got to have a cognitive test. And there should always be if you're gone for more than two weeks, someone needs to verify your location. Thank you. That's it.
Starting point is 00:09:53 That's all. These are easy things. Just two things. I got to verify that you're alive. There's got to be a proof of life. I've got to like go in and be like, as an independent person, not as a partisan, not the party checks in on you. This is an independent commission that basically says everybody gets cognitive tests every year and everybody gets a proof of life every two weeks that they're gone. And like maybe if you're going to be out for an extended period of time, you're going.
Starting point is 00:10:16 somebody subs in. Sure. Right? Tag somebody else in. Yeah. I don't feel like, like if I told my boss, because like aren't we the boss as the American people as the constituents, aren't we the boss? If I told my boss, hey man, no one's going to do my job for an indeterminate period of time,
Starting point is 00:10:34 but my job is important. In fact, there's only 500 people in the whole country, that 500 change, that have this job in the whole country. And I had to beg, borrow, plead in order to get it. I had to convince everybody that I, amongst many. Will uniquely qualified, please, please give me this job. Also, I'm not going to do it.
Starting point is 00:10:53 And I don't know when I'll be back. And the work is important, but nobody's going to do the work at all. I don't feel like that's anything. If you're gone for a few weeks, fine, like you said. But if I'm going to be gone and it's like, hey, I've got a medical thing. I've got to take care of it. I don't know how long I'll be gone. I've got a second.
Starting point is 00:11:09 I've got my stand in, you know, and they're going to vote and have my proxy. The two-party system reinforces this kind of behavior, nobody on the other side wants you to fill your seat to say anything. It's true. So nobody wants that to happen. So there's never going to be any push because of the two-party system. If there was more pressure, right? If there was three, four, five, six parties, then that might be something that everybody
Starting point is 00:11:32 would be like, yeah, I think we should do that. Because then on occasion, the Republicans and the libertarians could get together and pass something. Right. But if it's just Republicans and Democrats, then you're not going to get this to happen. That's true. Think about how... It's a reinforcing shitty social.
Starting point is 00:11:48 It is. It's a terrible system. The fact that it's two-party, your point is exactly right. The fact that it's two-party makes this exact easy, common-sense solution not plausible
Starting point is 00:11:58 because it's not politically advantageous. Yeah, it's not advantageous. But imagine if your representative is the one who's gone. Yeah. And you're just like, I have no advocate. Yeah, nobody's going to advocate.
Starting point is 00:12:06 It's either important that I have one. It's only two things can possibly be true. Either it's important that you have an advocate as a constituent, or it's unimportant. If it's unimportant, if it's unimportant, important, then why do we have the system? If it's important, then someone should fucking represent you. Sure. Yeah. And not just be like, yeah, I'm not coming to work. I don't know when I'll be back.
Starting point is 00:12:24 Yeah, it's principle versus practice, though. Right. These people want practice. They want, they want less people. The people on the left right now are happy that no one's sitting in for Mitch McConnell because that's one less seat. That's one less vote. Yeah, it's one more chance that we can stop things from happening because Mitch McConnell is currently on a machine that's keeping him alive. Brain ventilator or whatever. He's like, I hope there is a rain ventilate. They just fill his fucking head with air. I just hope he doesn't come back as like Darth McConnell. He comes back.
Starting point is 00:12:53 How would anyone tell? He takes his head off. It's black. You're like, that's not any different. It's the same thing. Your face is still black like it was. It's just what it was. You're still being consumed by the dark side. Yeah, right. And also your wife doesn't love you. We do. That was the thing.
Starting point is 00:13:09 Oh my God. You know, it's actually really weird. This is the first sitting senator that they buried. in a pet cemetery in order to, you know, resurrect him. We think it'll work out okay. It'll probably work out. That's what you do with all turtles. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:13:23 I mean, I'd call you a loser and a liar, but I think you know what a piece of shit you are. All right. We got to talk about Graham Platoners. We do. The Associated Press, it's also from every fucking where. Democrat Graham Platner says he plans to withdrawal from main Senate race after sexual assault claim. We talked about Graham Platner.
Starting point is 00:13:42 Sure. And, like, just to be very clear, we, we, were willing to sort of let bygones be bygones in terms of like giving him an opportunity to change and grow as a person. Yes, absolutely. And say, okay, like we don't see a lot of evidence of, you know, wrongdoing or misconduct that is necessarily something you can't, like, move past or somebody can't grow up. And it's not recent, right?
Starting point is 00:14:06 It wasn't recent. It was old Reddit posts and it was a tattoo that he covered up. Right. And there were sexual harassment allegations. this is far beyond. This is a sexual assault plane. Fuck this guy. As soon as evidence comes out, right?
Starting point is 00:14:26 As soon as there's something where you're like, okay, there was smoke now there's fire. I don't care if, I would rather lose this guy and lose the Senate than hold on to or defend or keep promoting somebody who has no value. Yeah, 100% agree, Tom. I can't agree more. I think what I don't want to. do is I'm seeing sort of this undercurrent of a lot of people saying, I knew it all along.
Starting point is 00:14:52 I knew it all along. I knew it all along. That's fine. That's intuition. It can be right. It can be wrong. You're counting the hit. So understand that you may be doing something that is a logical fallacy, right?
Starting point is 00:15:04 Counting the hits, forgetting the misses. How many times was your intuition right in the past that you are counting and how many times was it wrong? How many times did you think, oh, this is a bad situation and it wasn't? And then you forgot about it. So your intuition isn't anything, right? What it is is it's a way to be cautious. What I don't want to do and what I, and I won't go back on anything I said because what I said, I still mean.
Starting point is 00:15:25 Right. If someone presents themselves as someone who can change, I don't want to be a guy. I would much rather be a guy who on occasion someone lies to me. Yes. Then someone who never thinks anyone can change ever. because I think that my values say that someone who wants to make change in their life and be a different person
Starting point is 00:15:49 should be allowed to do that. It appeared that that was what Graham Plantar was trying to do, right? It covered up a tattoo, right? That's not something you... I see a lot of people are bringing up this Nazi tattoo now that this has happened. Which is crazy because it's not relevant to this issue.
Starting point is 00:16:05 And what I want to say is be like, it's very possible that he's always been a piece of shit and he's been hiding it. That's very true. But I also want to recognize that there are, that we should be accepting of people when they want to change who they are. And in many cases, people who were on the other side of sort of an ideological divide. And let's take racism, for instance, some of the most staunch anti-racists that exist are people who were once very well. racist. Right? So the people who will fight the hardest for things like that happen to be the people
Starting point is 00:16:47 who were fighting for the other side at a certain point in their life. That happens very often. Right. So I don't want to close that door and say, if you're, if in the past, you've, you've exhibited qualities of a racist, you can never change. I don't want to do that. I don't want to be that person and I don't want to do that. But what I do want to do is say, at a certain point, I'm not interested in at all if there keeps on being allegations and you lie about things like allegations that are coming up like now. If you lie about them, then I don't want to. You have a lot more work to do. And in fact, you should do it where you're not asking for a center seat. You should do that on your own. You should be, but we're not going to do this anymore. And that's how I feel about it. I don't want to
Starting point is 00:17:33 be a person who's going to reject people's change. I don't want to do that. I literally, all of my politics and all of the way in which I think embraces that people can change and be better. And I don't want to change who I think about and how I think about them because someone lied. Yeah. I agree with all of that. I have a, maybe I'm not quite as, I don't think I'm as loving and forgiving as you are. I would like to be maybe. I don't think I've ever been able to like grow the same way as you. Because for me, I feel like I am very willing to say and embrace somebody's change of heart and change of opinion and change of values and stance. But I am not as willing to move on from the actions somebody took with their body to hurt another person's body.
Starting point is 00:18:22 Like, for me, it's different, like, substantively different. So, like, in other words, for Graham Platner, for example, like, if he had and held problematic views about sex and women and sexuality, and then but he never acted on them. He just had bad ideas. And then he grew and he changed. And he doesn't have those ideas anymore. Welcome. I'm glad that you grew and changed.
Starting point is 00:18:48 But when you rape somebody, and that's the allegation here, is straight up that he raped somebody, it's, I just am like, okay, well, you can't represent me anymore. Right? I can't, because now you don't represent me. Now you've,
Starting point is 00:19:01 you have hurt people. You've moved away from, this is a value of mind that has changed. This is an idea set that I used to hold. to now you raped somebody. I don't have a way to say, okay, great. I'm not saying you should be thrown away as a human being, but you don't get to represent the American people.
Starting point is 00:19:19 Like, this is a job you can never hold. I don't feel like, and I kind of, I feel the same way. Like if somebody was like, yeah, I used to commit physical hate crimes in the world, but now I feel differently and I wouldn't do it again. I'm like, that's great. There's a lot of work you can do. But I don't feel comfortable saying, you should be a representative of the American people.
Starting point is 00:19:39 What I did and what I said was, and I think you and I both agreed, was that we begrudgingly because there just wasn't any other option wanted this to happen. We were like, you know what? It's not great. Both of us were saying, not great.
Starting point is 00:19:56 Not great. Both of us were decrying the idea that there isn't someone, someone who could be part of this process. And I want to say like, progressives specifically were the ones the more progressive people,
Starting point is 00:20:14 not the corporate Democrats, right? Because the corporate Democrats wanted somebody else. Right. The corporate Democrats were endorsing someone else. Mills, right? Yeah. They wanted someone else.
Starting point is 00:20:25 The far progressives, he was saying things that they agreed with. You've got to be careful that someone isn't manipulating you and tricking you into listening to them and doing the things that they want you to do because they're saying the things you want to hear. You've got to be real careful against that. And you've got to do a way
Starting point is 00:20:45 fucking better job of vetting people. Thank you. It is so painful to me that because we put our blinders on, that the excitement was there, that the words were spoken in the right order, that we just were like, well, we'll just do the vetting later. We can't do that. We can't do stuff. We can't do that stuff. Because this is where you end up. You end up with a fucking guy who's potentially a rapist who now is almost certainly going to cost us this seat. This was always going to be a tough race in Maine. Yeah, because Susan Collins is the incumbent. Right. This is a tough, tough race in Maine. This was always going to be a tough race. The Senate's incredibly important. We didn't do our due diligence in vetting. Otherwise, we would have rejected this guy quickly.
Starting point is 00:21:32 I would imagine there were skeletons on skeletons on skeletons. Like we were talking. You can't find somebody with good ideas without crazy misogynist and racist skeletons in their closet. How hard is this? Here's what I want to. Genuine question. There's something about a blue collar soldier that tunes up the Democrat Party because there just isn't any of them. Look at how much Tulsi Gabbard was a darling of the left before she kind of sort of really went off and then lost her seat, right? of how much of it, she was a soldier.
Starting point is 00:22:08 You just don't get a lot of those. You don't get a lot of left-leaning soldiers coming in. If you're a soldier and you served and you're left, there's a chance, a real great chance and you can speak. They're going to put you up in the party. They're going to lift you up. This guy was absolutely somebody who they thought, this is the perfect blend of a personality to win over blue-collar, you know, hard-nosed manors.
Starting point is 00:22:41 This was a guy that they thought, this is going to be our best chance. And they just fucking fumbled the bag when it comes to whether or not this guy is actually a creep or not. Right. You did a bad job. Did a bad job. And I want to address too,
Starting point is 00:22:55 because I already, I've seen in comment sections, even on like left-leaning, people will show up and be like, oh, guilty until proven innocent. No, he's not. He's not going to jail. He just doesn't get this one job. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:23:07 Like, I want to be really clear about that piece. Like, no one is saying, like, you know, he is being thrown into jail tomorrow. He's being ejected out of a fucking cannon out of the, you know, with no due process. Oh, where's the due process? Everybody should get due. But no. He just doesn't get this one job. This interview is over.
Starting point is 00:23:25 Yeah. That's it. There's nothing else to see here. That's a fair response to multiple credible. allegations, right? And if these credible allegations are like they come to light and they're all, there's all a lot of evidence for them, I'd like to see him prosecute it. Yeah, same, right? If prosecute them. Like if there's, if this goes to the level where a prosecutor says like, hey, I've got a case here, then take the case. Take the case to them. Absolutely, 100%.
Starting point is 00:23:55 Nobody who commits a sexual assault should get away with it. Yeah. Right. 100%. I'm right there. Right. I just like, I know people are so willing, Like there's a certain, like, vocal contingent to people who are like, oh, we don't know for sure it hasn't been. I get it. Yeah, 100%. No one is saying right now, like, let's eject them from a fucking canon. We're just saying, hey, man, you're not going past this interview stage for this one job. And I think, too, like, there was people who were willing to go even farther for Platner.
Starting point is 00:24:26 I read a comment. I don't know how true it was, but one of these podcast influencers on the left that's a farther left leaning had said, didn't even care if somebody really had, like, racist views as long as they, they helped the party. And, like, I disagree. Like, I, I, I, I don't percent disagree. I think, I think your values, like, that's the most important piece of this, is that you got to have good values. And if somebody comes in and they're lying about who they are, we just can't trust them.
Starting point is 00:24:55 No. And they can, and here's the thing. Graham can go do all that work on his own. Go try to be a better person for the rest of your life and do something else. but you just don't get to be a senator. That's it. You just don't get to be a senator. Like, this is too much.
Starting point is 00:25:09 It's too much. You're lying and people are catching you in your lies. If you would have, if this stuff would, this stuff, I know a lot of people are saying it's politically motivated, right? So they're saying, oh, well, this stuff's politically motivated. And you're like, of course it is. Because if you were this person who was sexually assaulted by this person, and you saw his name constantly all the way up there.
Starting point is 00:25:30 And you realize he's got a real chance to be a senator, every day you're taking mental damage by the fact that somebody possibly who raped you is going to be a senator of course you're going to post something and say something and call a reporter and do this stuff don't don't let's not blame the victim here no yeah let's not go after the victim be like oh it's politically motivated dude what the fuck like of course it's politically motivated because he put himself in politics i know you again like these people are asking for this one very job, which is one of the most rare jobs in the entire country. So you don't feel sorry for somebody who doesn't get one of the highest jobs in the nation.
Starting point is 00:26:14 The woman who's made these allegations, she said that partially the reason she didn't want to speak out at first is because she agrees with this politics. She's politically aligned with Graham Platner. The reporting that I've seen agrees with that, that her politics are not right-wing politics. Her politics agree with Graham Platner's politics. it's just it's your point. She's like, but people don't really know who he is.
Starting point is 00:26:38 And like, he is not a person with good values. You can't, to your point before, we're like, well, some people have said, well, you know, somebody is like a racist, but they're still going to be on my side. You can't be a racist and be progressive. Yeah. Because when race issues come up as they inevitably will, I mean, we just had a Supreme Court decision that was racist, the birthright citizenship piece, right? So you can't advocate for positions.
Starting point is 00:27:01 You objectively hold the opposite. position of. That would be crazy. How many days you have left, they lose me right after the bunker scene. This is from Mashable. White House purchased thousands
Starting point is 00:27:14 of web pages about energy saving during heat wave. Now, they did that in direct response to Mom Dani, who basically said, hey, here's what everybody says every time there's a heat wave, which is don't set your air conditioner
Starting point is 00:27:29 too low. And the justice, people were like, oh, the socialist want to control the temperature in your own house. And the response was like, this is on your fucking website. And they were like, not anymore. Here's what I want to say about this. If anybody ever tells you that Republicans aren't hypocrites.
Starting point is 00:27:49 Right? Like, this is exactly what hypocrites do. Yes. Is they immediately try to cover their tracks after they've committed a hypocrisy. They immediately say, oh, and then they try to hide it behind something, that's a fucking hypocrite. this is straight up hypocrisy. It is. This is like
Starting point is 00:28:07 this is alternative facts shit. Yeah, this is crazy alternative facts. They just, we'll delete 6,000 pay it. We'll delete all of it. We don't have time to scrub it. Just go ahead and delete it because potentially we agree with a socialist about something. They need control F for 78 and they just deleted everything.
Starting point is 00:28:22 But it turns out that they missed one and someone else found one again. So like people just keep searching the websites for different things, different departments and how they talk about this particular. issue. This, one thing I want to talk about the weather, though, is that this is not going to get any easier. No. This is not.
Starting point is 00:28:43 We, people seem to think that this is going to be, oh, you know, well, yeah, you have one bad year once in a while. No, this is how it's going to be. This is it now. From now on. Yeah. Right. This or worse.
Starting point is 00:28:55 This are worse. Right now, in Illinois, we used to have sort of a tornado season. There was a tornado season. It was spring. most of the time in spring for about two months there was a chance that there would be a tornado that would roll through what we call tornado alley here in our state
Starting point is 00:29:15 which is sort of it's far enough way from Chicago where the storms can form far enough away which is really far enough away from Lake Michigan essentially and and it was a it was like a narrow strip that went down sort of the center of our state right around Chicago area that's where the storms would get most intense over Iowa come in and really rain down some shit.
Starting point is 00:29:34 I know you've been through tornadoes. I was in the in the Joliet Mall when Plainfield got hit with an F5. I was literally blocks away from where that hit. I've seen many tornadoes in my life. There's been places right down the street for me that have been blown up by tornadoes. Tornadoes now are creeping deep into July. Yeah, man. Right?
Starting point is 00:29:56 So, and there's possibilities. There's been nights that I've gotten tornado stuff in July this year. Yeah. And that's not something I ever remember. June was almost unheard of. There have been winter tornadoes. Yeah. There have been winter tornadoes in recent memory.
Starting point is 00:30:12 It's all changing. And it's not going to get any better. It will only likely get worse if you believe, you know, climate scientists. You know, and the idea that the government is like so ideologically opposed to the fact that somebody on the left said a true thing, that they would rather just not have true things be. available to you? Well, it's so that they can make this claim that nothing's happening, right?
Starting point is 00:30:38 Because if they have this thing on their website and it says 78 degrees, then what they're saying in their own head, they're trying to be consistent with their position on climate change, which is, well, we don't need to worry about that because that's not a thing. And you're like, well, this is just going to keep getting worse. It's not like you can magically make everything better and nobody has to do this work to not get brownouts in New York. You're so. going to get this. It's not a game of SIM where I can just drop a couple generators in the middle of New York and fix the problem or whatever. It's going to be an issue because it's a genuine infrastructure issue with a number of people that live out there. You just can't.
Starting point is 00:31:18 It's not something you can easily fix. No. Do you think, so Texas has gotten hammered. And like everything I've read said, Texas specifically is under increased threat for much more severe activity as a result of climate change. Texas is going to eat a lot of shit. They're going to have colder, cold snaps, wet or wet times, hotter heat waves. Yeah, they'll get tornadoes and hurricanes sometimes. Yeah. So they're going to eat a lot of shit in Texas, right? And Texas is pretty staunchly Republican. Or don't send me an email. I know it's purple. But like there's a lot of, you know, Republican. I wonder if they will be forced to recognize at some point, even implicitly. Like, I kind of even care at this point because it's so existential if they use the same words. Do you have
Starting point is 00:32:01 what I mean? Like if their grid keeps going down and their fucking pipes keep bursting and their, you know, people keep getting washed away in these flash floods and all the stuff that's been happening, do you think they'll start to say, all right, well, we'll make some changes, but we won't say why we're doing it. You know, there's a part of me that would just be fine with that at a certain point. I grew up with the existential threat of nuclear war, right? So like, I know you did to, right? That whole existential threat. I can't tell you the number of hours that I had like sheer anxiety, especially during very difficult times in, you know, foreign politics, where like sheer anxiety about what could feasibly happen, right? I can't imagine,
Starting point is 00:32:48 because I'm going to be checking out here, you know, in, certainly in under what I've put in, right? In my life, certainly in under what I've put in. But I don't be checking out, I probably got what, maybe 20, 30 years left, something like that. That's not, I'm not going to experience the real, real, real dire consequences of this. I'm going to experience some. I will probably experience some. If the predictions are correct, I will probably experience some at the very end of my life. But the real damage, this is just going to keep getting exponentially worse.
Starting point is 00:33:19 And just like now, where you're like, wow, it really sucks now that it's 100 degrees for five days straight in New York City or whatever, it's going to be a hundred. 100 degrees for 15 days straight. Yeah. At that point, 20 days straight, 30 day straight, it's not going to get any better. And so if somebody just starts quietly fixing things and begrudgingly quietly fixing things, good. Because the wonder that I have is, can you fix some of this without acknowledging root cause? I don't know if that you can't.
Starting point is 00:33:53 I don't know if you can't either. Part of me is just like, okay, like, I mean, who has to eat what shit? You know, who has to lose what money? Who's, like, what senator's kid has to get washed away in a flood at camp in order for them to say, okay, all right, you got me on that one. We'll go ahead and do solar farms again, you know? Like, we'll go ahead and allow some more windmills. We'll go ahead and try to, you know, fix this problem.
Starting point is 00:34:16 At what point, what are the sacrifices that have to be put on the altar in order for them to say, all right, okay, you got me. One thing that's important to play attention to is where billionaires are investing. And there's been some billionaires who have been building bunkers for themselves. Cool and chill. So it's important to point that out. It's important to be like, oh, why, though? Why are you doing that? And is your thermostat set to 78? Mine is in your bunker. In your bunker? Mostly it's underground, so it keeps its temperature. That's true. You know what I mean? Very efficient. It's very efficient. You just, you just hide it in there. It's easy.
Starting point is 00:34:55 Your sales order says one thing. Your inventory says another. Your spreadsheet says good luck. O-Doo brings your business together on a single platform. From sales and accounting to inventory and marketing, visit O-D-com to book a demo. It's O-D-O-O-O-O-com. I can excuse racism, but I draw the line at animal cruelty. You can excuse racism.
Starting point is 00:35:17 Listen, I just want you to understand how we go through the notes and Cecil's clicking through to find the next story. And he introduced this one to me like, should we do this one? Next just goes, racist? And I'm like, sure. Sure, let's do racism. There we go. Let's do a racism story.
Starting point is 00:35:30 It's 2026. Let's talk about racism. All right. This is from ABC, NBC. NBC, I don't know. NBC Washington. NBC. Thank you.
Starting point is 00:35:39 Masked men with Confederate flag scene chanting, marching, riding metro in D.C. One of the photos from this is pretty telling. If you go to the website, you can take a look at it. But one of the photos is pretty telling. It's got an image of one black guy surrounded by a bunch of cowards
Starting point is 00:35:55 who are covering their face and their whole body on 104 degree day in the middle of the metro because they're so cowardly they can't even bring their collals down in front of their face. This is one of those things, though,
Starting point is 00:36:09 that you'll see because we have elected someone who empowers racists. Yes. Right? So they know that this is a permission slip by the current administration to march around
Starting point is 00:36:22 with a loser flag from a loser ideology, the Confederacy lost badly the war. They should have been punished way more severely than they actually were. And we allowed them to reenter society, civilized society, and what we should have done was punish the shit out of them so that they never think these thoughts again.
Starting point is 00:36:46 And what they do is they trap, like right now, the idea that on the, the, day of the birth of the nation, you would be waving a traitor flag in the middle of Washington, D.C. It should be so appalling to all of these patriotic Republicans, but they will look the other way because they hate the same people they hate. Yeah, I think a couple of things about this are really worth noting. Your note that, of course, they hide their faces, right? I'm proud of who I am. Sure. I'm proud of the things I believe in. Even when I'm wrong about things, that gives me a chance to be wrong, say I'm sorry, grow from it and learn from it, right? These guys are hiding their faces because
Starting point is 00:37:30 they don't want to face the repercussions for being who they are. Sure. And believing what they believe. And there's that lone black guy in this picture surrounded by this hate, surrounded by this shit. There was a lot of people at this rally. This was not one of those. In years past, you and I have made fun of some of these things. We're like 12 guys show up. And, you know, they're surrounded by 500 people. And the 500 people laugh at them and play a tuba and mock them and everything. Things have begun to shift. This is a large group of people now that gathered in Washington, D.C.
Starting point is 00:38:06 And everybody on the political spectrum, left or right, in a sane world, would stand up vocally and say, there's no room in America for this. This is un-American, it is un-American to hold these views. The fact that the right is silent about racism and about white supremacy, silent or dismissive or encouraging. Those are their three views that the right holds. They either say nothing when shit happens. They are openly encouraging it or they are dismissive as if it didn't really mean what we just saw it mean. That's all the right does racist shit.
Starting point is 00:38:40 Sure. That gives all the cover for this to grow. It's a growing movement. And it is an accelerating movement. It is making everybody less safe. and this should be the least American thing about us. So what is America? If this is what we've become?
Starting point is 00:38:57 What even is America as a nation, as a culture, as a set of thoughts and values that we agree to hold together that binds us? One of the things that I think people will say, if they see this and they're on the right, they may say something like, well, they should have the ability to march. Maybe that's true, maybe that's not true. You know, we could fight about that a little bit. But even if they do have that ability to march,
Starting point is 00:39:25 what should be happening is there should be a denouncing of them from both sides. Yes. Racism isn't welcome, right? So let's say they do march in the middle of Washington, D.C. Okay, they marched. But nobody, everybody is saying, these guys are a bunch of fucking losers
Starting point is 00:39:41 and they hold loser values. That's what should happen. But what you see is a silence a complete silence on their part. And in some cases, not a silence, and a holding up of these values, reinforcing these values. So whenever anybody wants to bring up
Starting point is 00:39:57 the idea that, oh, well, you know, you should be able to do it. Yeah, you should be able to do it, but other people should be able to say that's fucking abhorrent. Yes. Right? And it should be the side of, it should be on both parties' side.
Starting point is 00:40:08 There should not be a group of people in this country who should be responsible for a large, like a large percentage. Black people make up a large party. a large percentage of people in this country. If you're a representative of the people and you aren't representing black people because you think they're less than,
Starting point is 00:40:27 you shouldn't have a place in our government. You shouldn't be someone who should have a place in our government. You should be gone. We shouldn't have you in there. So I know that there is going to be some flubbing and some trying to straw man and trying to push things so that they can make it seem like this isn't a big deal.
Starting point is 00:40:43 This is a huge fucking deal. It's a huge deal. And the idea that, they're walking around with a symbol of slavery, right? That flag is nothing but a symbol of
Starting point is 00:40:54 subjugation of people based on race. That's all it is. There's no way to... You can't tell... I will not accept any argument that makes it seem like
Starting point is 00:41:05 that's not what that flag represents. That's exactly what that flag represents. All that heritage, not hate, bullshit is such a fucking lie. It is.
Starting point is 00:41:13 Find a new heritage symbol. Right? You can find a heritage symbol that shows you're from the South rather than a thing that was used during the Civil War. Yeah. Well, and we've covered it actually in citation need its lost cause episode. The lost cause of the Confederacy. So it's a fun listen and it's actually pretty informative. I happen to write it. But there is all the evidence in the world historical first person accounts. If you want to know what that war was about, don't listen to anybody who says it's about anything other than slavery.
Starting point is 00:41:44 It's slavery. Just read what Jefferson Davis. who was the leader of that movement. Read what he said in his speeches. Read what he wrote in his writings about literally what was motivating that cause. You don't have to... This is not like you have to dig really deep into the subtext.
Starting point is 00:41:59 There's no subtext required. The literal leader of that cause in his speeches and writings was unequivocal that this was about slavery. That's it. You don't have to... We don't have to have a long-form argument about this
Starting point is 00:42:13 because it's not a long-form issue. Well, and then you can look at the north and how they wanted to appease the South. Yeah, exactly. So we can look at those ways in which they wanted to appease it. They were all around slavery. Right. And the fight on whether or not we were actually going to free black people.
Starting point is 00:42:29 Wasn't even given. Wasn't even given. So all those things tell you, everything you need to know about why that war started and why that war existed. The people who want to pretend that it was about something else so that they could, so they could be secret racists. That's why they want to do it. That's the only reason. If it was a reason why you loved your state,
Starting point is 00:42:49 I love my state so much. I don't know what's wrong with you if you think that. But I love my state state so, so much. I've got to represent it. There's other ways to represent it. We're the fucking state flower. Yeah, man. There you go.
Starting point is 00:42:59 We're a pin of the state fucking animal or whatever. There is a unsubtle undercurrent of threat and violence that comes from a masked group of 100% men. Yeah. Standing there with a fucking Confederate flag. Get the fuck over. Come on. Hackerman.
Starting point is 00:43:22 He's the most powerful hacker of all time. Financial review. Longevity guru, Brian Johnson, reveals he has an incurable disease. So this guy is a guy who's like, what's that? It's called vanity. It is called vanity. It is fucking incurable. This is the same guy who takes blood transfusions from his like teenage sons and does all kinds of crazy shit.
Starting point is 00:43:49 And now he's got like autoimmune gastritis, which is. essentially means his stomach is fucked and it is working against himself. And like, it's maybe the fact that he does all this crazy longevity shit that he's basically made up himself. Yeah, he only, he planned, he's figured out this whole regimen to try to make himself into a stay young forever. That was his, that was his whole goal. And in this article, they interview him and talk to him or at least somebody did and
Starting point is 00:44:18 they were quoting it. But he's talking about how the reason why he has. this autoimmune disease is because of when he was overweight back in the day. Sure. That's what caused it. It was when I was on that and I was taking pills for like my thyroid or something like that, either the medicine caused it or the junk food caused it or whatever. It's not anything now.
Starting point is 00:44:39 Right. This is all motivated reasoning by the guy. And I don't know if he believes it or not. I don't know that he's selling it. He's not selling this. He's just doing this, right? I think he's why my recollection about this guy from what I've read before is that he has an influencer in this space.
Starting point is 00:44:54 Okay. Makes his living. I see. Not necessarily like selling peptides, but laundering these ideas. So that would, then it would make sense that he want to protect his brand. Right. Right. You got to protect your brand if that's the case.
Starting point is 00:45:04 Because this is the only thing that you, this is what you're putting your bank in. You can't, you can't like be true to yourself and be like, oh, I might have fucked my own body up. Right. And so, and I don't want to pretend. I don't want to play doctor here. Yeah. Who knows how he fucked his body up?
Starting point is 00:45:17 I do know, like I, I've had reason to look into autoimmune gastritis. over the last five years, right? So I actually have like a little bit of information about this, which may or may not be relevant, but I think it's potentially funny. So every time you get a blood transfusion, it's not just like the type and cross that they have to look for. So that's like, that's the basics.
Starting point is 00:45:37 You're in a fucking emergency. You're a plus, type A plus or A positive, rather. They're going to give you type A positive or O negative blood. But there are many other factors in blood that your body can react to. And every time you get a blood transfusion, it increases the likelihood of an immune reaction to the next blood transfusion. It's why if you're having like a big surgery, they will often ask you to bank your own blood so that if you need a transfusion, it's autologous rather than donor blood.
Starting point is 00:46:08 So getting all of this fucking weird bio, not his shit put into his body does have potentially the ability to set off an immune chain reaction. That is a real thing that happens. maybe that's not at all what happened here. Again, I'm not playing doctor. But it's not at all unlikely or unfeasible or unplausible. This guy just made his whole protocol up out of whole cloth. It's not like he went to like upstairs medical college and figured all this out with research.
Starting point is 00:46:36 Yeah, he says he has like doctors that give him all kinds of tests all the time to like test his blood constantly and all this stuff. And so my thought and that too would be I'm sure you have motivated doctors too. You know, there's a lot of motivated reasoning that goes on with this sort of stuff. And there's a lot of money. And then it's like also really hard to pull yourself out of the equation. This is a guy who's doing this for himself. Right. How can I then look at the thing you did for yourself and whether or not it's going to work for me
Starting point is 00:47:07 and like, and you're invested in it, deeply invested in it? Maybe you're not telling me everything I need to know about it. It's just, this is just we shouldn't, you should never do science where a guy just like, I'm just going to try this one thing and see if it works. Because that's not good. No. That's bad. And in every way is that bad.
Starting point is 00:47:24 Everything you learn by doing that also, you're just an N of one. Yeah, exactly. So maybe you did figure out a thing that worked for you. Maybe you found the founding youth for yourself. Right. Maybe it does not. Like, look, there is one person, one, that survived rabies. And they've tried that exact same protocol on many other people that have got,
Starting point is 00:47:44 and they have not saved anybody else. Just because something works once doesn't mean it capital, works. It means it worked. You know? So it's funny to me, too, that he's like, well, these doctors do all these tests. You can just order those tests. You don't, I only know this because the shit like with, has gone down with Haley where sometimes it's like, we need this test run and we're waiting too long for it. Like, you can just go to a lab.
Starting point is 00:48:10 Like, you can just go to Lab Corps or Quest or whatever. And you could just pay cash and order most of those labs yourself without a prescription and without a doctor's referral. If it's just a blood test or a stool test, you can just show up and be like, I'd like to pay money for it. And they're like, great, $49, please. That's actually my fetish. I have stool tests done all the time. So, because there's been times where it's like, we can't get, oh, we know we need to get this test run.
Starting point is 00:48:34 But like the prescription for it hasn't come through. It's like you can go get your own MRI done too. Exactly. Like, you can go get, there are places that do certain things. Exactly. So, like, just because he gets testing done doesn't mean that he's really under supervisory care. And it could be that you get. a test done and you don't have somebody there who can help walk you through it in a good way,
Starting point is 00:48:54 right? They may be walking you through it to be like, oh, well, your peptides are low or whatever. And just a reminder, Dr. Oz is actually a doctor. Yeah. You know. Calling all scientists, calling all scientists, be advised there will be a worldwide conference on global warming in Kyoto, Japan. I've got a degree in homeopathic medicine. You've got a degree in Bologna. Speaking of Dr. Oz, I mean, it's not Dr. Oz necessarily.
Starting point is 00:49:20 Oh, Jesus. From the AP, FDA panel on peptides will include experts who promote the unproven chemicals favored by RFK Jr. Jesus Christ, dude. Just this is, the peptide world is a crazy world. I don't know a lot about it. So I've read a little bit, and I've watched a little, a few, like, podcast and YouTube stuff about peptides. Because I was kind of curious when I first started hearing about them. Like, well, what are they?
Starting point is 00:49:45 there's a bunch of stuff, a bunch of like amino acids and peptides, some of which have some very shaky clinical evidence, mostly in animal models, that they may or may not do a good thing, such as increased muscle mass, burn fat, speed through healing, that kind of thing. And there'll be some, like, small clinical studies that are mostly at the animal level, and then people get fucking over-excited about them. Then these chemicals get, like, worked up in these labs, compounding pharmacies, and then other just random fucking Chinese peptide factories. I'm not kidding at all. And then they're marketed on these websites as not intended or intended only for research purposes, not for human use. Jesus Christ. Then you can go on and just buy them and then inject them into your body. Inject them?
Starting point is 00:50:38 They're mostly injected. Yikes. Almost all of these are injected. They're not like a consumer. And then they do whatever they do. Maybe nothing, maybe something. maybe bad shit. Who knows? But there's not clinical, clinically reviewed long, there's none of the evidence stuff. Like, it's like, it's kind of like the supplement in
Starting point is 00:50:55 industry if you're filling a needle full of ginko, biloba, and sticking it in your ass. I have obviously listened to a lot of Joe Rogan, and I've heard Joe talk to some of his guests. In fact, one of his guests came in and was talking about rehab that they were doing for a part of their body. And I don't remember exactly who the person who he was talking to was but he was talking to the person and the person said, yeah, I'm trying to rehab my shoulder or whatever and Joe says,
Starting point is 00:51:22 do you use peptides? And the person says, no, I don't. He's like, do you want to heal? Jesus. So like, genuinely, Joe is trying to push these things as if it's one of the only ways that you can heal yourself. And so he's,
Starting point is 00:51:36 and he has a guy who does this for him. I know for sure that he's gotten these before in the past and he pushes them on his show. Talks about, I don't know that he pushes a particular brand of them. Right. But he certainly talks about how they're influential to helping him maintain his physique at his age and things like that and stay out of, you know, rehab and the doctor's office and continually working out because he can fix all the problems with his body. Which is by injecting.
Starting point is 00:52:04 By injecting. Yeah. Like here's what's crazy to be. It's crazy to go ahead. No. But Jesus, the vaccine thing. When you think about vaccines in comparison to these things. I mean, it's insane.
Starting point is 00:52:14 I don't want a vaccine. Don't inject me with that. There's not been enough clinical trials. Anyway, I'll take some BPC 157, please. There's a million. From amino asylum. Fucking, so many studies done on vaccines and there's none on these and they're just like, or they are, they're really shaky.
Starting point is 00:52:29 And they're like, well, you can go ahead and shoot that inject me with some crazy shit. Because I might look good. Yeah. That's a big part of it, right? So so much of this is about chasing a look, chasing a like some kind of like performance game. Sure. That they think that they need that like extra three or four or five percent edge that something might give them. Like these these things are, think about how unproved. So they're not just like supplements, right?
Starting point is 00:52:56 It may or may not contain whatever it says is on the bottle. You have no idea. You have no idea what you're buying. We've covered stories where the supplement industry, it's like some fucking grass clippings from the yard behind the factory, right? Like have no idea there's no independent testing. There's no regulation, none of that stuff. if there is independent testing, it's voluntary, it's a shaky industry. The peptide industry is shakier even than that. Jesus. You have no idea what you're buying. You have no idea that the company selling it to you even knows what they're buying or what the contaminant level is. So you don't, you're getting a thing and you're saying, I want to get BPC 157 to help me promote healing and like collagen regrowth and muscle rebuilding or whatever it is. Okay, awesome. I want some BBC 157.
Starting point is 00:53:39 What's the evidence for it? Well, the evidence. is primarily in animal studies and there's not really any good evidence in human models. Still, I want it. All right, cool. I'm going to go buy it. What's in this? I don't know. Some website you don't know is selling you a jar like a little fucking vial
Starting point is 00:53:54 and you don't really know what's in it and there's no way for you to test it and you're like, awesome. This probably isn't a bunch of lead from China or whatever. This is certainly what it says in the bottle. I trust it because I'm an idiot. Well, there's again, Joe Rogan has talked on his show about
Starting point is 00:54:11 making his supplements, the alpha brain stuff that he was making, that supplement stuff would sometimes get contaminated because they had it tested. And since it's not in like a very rigorous place, sometimes it will get contaminated with stuff that shouldn't be in it. So you might be getting stuff that you could be allergic to or you could have a bad reaction to. And there's no standards in places like that. And there's nobody checking it.
Starting point is 00:54:32 It's not like somebody takes every 7,000th dose, tests it, and then tells you, oh, they're off by X. There's none of that. There's not a thing that does that. You can't trust that it works. You can't trust that it's safe. You can't trust that it contains what it says it contains. You can't trust that it contains the amounts that it says it contains.
Starting point is 00:54:54 And you can't trust its sterility. Right? So you're injecting this into your body. Straight up injecting it. Your body is a little more forgiving about things that you ingest, right? Because like we ingest food and we have a system with acids and enzymes and everything. But you're just straight up. pushing this into your body, you're injecting it into your body with no idea whether or not
Starting point is 00:55:16 what you're getting is actually even sterile. Properly sterile. And why do you have no idea? Because you got it from some fucking website. You don't, you should not trust. Yeah. You have no reason to trust it. And this particular story is talking about how RFK is going to have this sort of panel and talk
Starting point is 00:55:32 about it. And the people he's inviting are heavily invested in this particular market. So these are influencers. These aren't just, these are doctors. sure they're doctors, you know, quote-unquote doctors, but they're influencers in this space. Crazy. These are people who are inextrably linked to the things they're trying to get past and make sure that the government promotes and says is cool.
Starting point is 00:55:56 That's so conflict of interest adverse. We shouldn't allow this sort of thing to happen. And in fact, I think at one point a federal judge had even stepped in in a previous thing that he had done and said, this is unprecedented. and you shouldn't be allowing the people that are coming in to advise him, you shouldn't allow that to happen. But what we've seen from this president and from all the people underneath him
Starting point is 00:56:20 is that there's just this giant grift of our government that's happening right now. These people never cared about any of the things that they lied that they cared about. They don't care about any of that stuff. Any of the stuff that they ran on, clearly they don't give a shit about. What they care about is how they can enrich themselves
Starting point is 00:56:35 while they're in there. And fucking RFK is no different. This is a guy who, who's embedded in this space, who has been talking about things like this for a long time, alternatives to medicine for a long time. This is building his own brand and the brand of all the people who he's friends with.
Starting point is 00:56:51 Yeah, it is a grift. And we used to care about a conflict of interest. We used to. A conflict of interest used to be something that you were like, holy shit. Stop the presses. Trump was interviewed not that long ago.
Starting point is 00:57:04 I was listening maybe last week. And they asked them some question about his $2 billion that he's made and he basically said something. I'm paraphrasing only a little bit that he realized that nobody cared. He didn't get any credit for not financially capitalizing
Starting point is 00:57:21 in his first administration. He said, I didn't get any credit when I didn't do it in my first term and I realized nobody cares. And he fucking said it out loud. I'm barely paraphrasing, Cecil. He didn't get credit for not being openly corrupt. What do you want? What is that? That's nothing.
Starting point is 00:57:37 What it is is a liar were in a corrupt person who suddenly realized that they can grift more. Yeah. It'd be like, I drove to the studio today. Nobody, like, stopped me. When I pulled up to the studio, nobody said, hey, way to not run any stoplights. Yeah. You didn't run over a baby on a stroller today.
Starting point is 00:57:54 Right. So now when I drive home, I'm just going to run over babies with strollers because I didn't get credit for not doing it the first time. That's an insane way to think. And that's the guy you put in. That's it. That's a guy who is so motivated self-interestly, in a self-interest. in a self-interested way
Starting point is 00:58:10 that everything he does, even his moral decisions are all motivated by self-interest. That tells you everything you need to know that you shouldn't have put that person in the office. But everybody underneath them is everybody's cashing in. Everybody's, look at what Cash Patel is doing.
Starting point is 00:58:27 Oh my God, I know. He's just like, he's like fucking, hey man, make it rain on this fucking private jet. You can just do whatever he wants. All of them are, look at what Nome was doing. Look at how she was gallivanting all over the place. These people, they knew as soon as they got in, they're like, nobody's ever going to be able to do anything to us.
Starting point is 00:58:43 And you would think with Cash Patel that everything he does, you would give a side eye to. Yeah, absolutely. Certainly one squinty. What about people who say you're only interested in the Middle East for oil? What? Huh? Oil? Who says in my oil, bitch, you cooking?
Starting point is 00:59:07 Hey, so we got to talk about this from New York Times. Probably we'll talk about this for years. now. Iran war updates. U.S. and Iran sink into violent cycle after latest strikes. Trump said the ceasefire is over. So the, I thought we had a memorandum of understanding. We had, we had concepts of a plan of a memorandum of understanding. Now we have a memorandum of not understanding. We have a memorandum of misunderstanding. We have a memorandum of disinformation. Jesus Christ. It's so funny that, that this guy starts this war. And then he has no idea how to get out of it. And you can tell he's just begging to get out of it. He wants out so bad. He wants out so bad and he's such an idiot that he has
Starting point is 00:59:46 no idea how to fix it. He doesn't, the only way it's ever going to be fixed is if he gives up way more concessions than anybody's ever done in the past. You've played all your cards. You've done all the things. What he's done is he's spent every card that he ever had that showed that he can, the last thing he could do is nuke them. That's the last thing. At this point, there's nothing else that he could do that would be showing, you. You can't do this in a way that's not going to be peaceful, right? We have to, they realize now that they can essentially, with very little effort, block that entire straight, and then fuck up ships and be like, yeah, we're just going to do this.
Starting point is 01:00:24 And then you bomb them for a while and they're like, cool, we're going to do it again. And this is just a back and forth and back and forth. And each time Israel keeps on doing stuff where they're blowing shit up and they're breaking rules that we're trying to get things set up, this shows you everything you need to know about how sticky and terrible that situation was and how, I don't want to say in a way that's like perfect, but certainly how intelligently that was maneuvered by the administration and the Obama administration, how they did a very good job of making sure that there was something there that prevented them from having a nuclear weapon, but also did not put us in the hole and still made it seem like we were the
Starting point is 01:01:04 power players. You lost all that. It's all gone. It's all gone. Think about all the things that we lost from this just in one fell soup. We've wildly damaged our relationship with our closest allies in Europe. That's gone. We have basically taken the leash off of Israel to do whatever the fuck they want in the region. And we're not going to say boo about it because there's really no high ground that we can take, no pressure that we can exert. Now especially that we're back at war with Iran, they can do whatever the hell they want as far as Lebanon and Hezbollah and the West Bank and all of that. That's just whatever they want to do. They can do this. We're doing no pressure. we gave Iran
Starting point is 01:01:41 a massive economic weapon that they didn't know they had before with the Strait of Hormuz. And we said look, this costs you almost nothing and it costs us much more than it cost you. And we're going to tell you about it basically
Starting point is 01:01:56 and fuck ourselves in the process. What have we gotten out of this? What has anybody gotten out of this? That's not Iran. Iran came out of this with a more hardline leadership, much more hardline leadership. The guys who were in charge before were, by all accounts, pragmatists who were at least willing to negotiate. Once you tear up the agreement, what's the lesson
Starting point is 01:02:20 you've taught them? Well, these negotiations aren't worth the paper. They're printed on. They don't survive more than four years. In order for you to survive, you're going to have to behave differently because this is not a long-term agreement, right? It could change at a moment's notice. Why even bother signing it? All the lessons here are basically Iran has the power. And Iran has the power. And is now more hard line than ever, more dug in than ever, and better equipped than they've ever been. Maybe not as militarily well equipped, but we didn't even destroy their missile system, their missile building system. We didn't get their nuclear, enriched nuclear materials out of the country. We've accomplished nothing.
Starting point is 01:02:55 We've accomplished fucking nothing. And we've hurt ourselves and everybody in the world is a process. It's awesome. We'll be here for years. Yeah. And I think that this is going to be a real difficult thing. I guarantee you I guarantee you
Starting point is 01:03:11 this isn't going to be cleared up by the time the next president is chosen I don't think it's going to be cleared up by then I'll be surprised if it is I'm willing to eat my words sure right but at this point the way it's it's been on and off and on and often they've been realizing
Starting point is 01:03:25 that they can keep squeezing I don't think that they're going to stop doing that Trump's an easy mark to squeeze he's a super easy mark because he doesn't when when things get tough he fucking sweats his grease out of his body. And then he's like, he just, he withers because he's a weak person.
Starting point is 01:03:42 And he's so reactive. Yeah. He's react, but he's weak as fuck, right? And if he can get out of something and stop it, then he's way more apt to do that. And so if it does get resolved, expect it to get resolved 100% in Iran's favor. Exactly. Yep. All right.
Starting point is 01:04:06 That's going to wrap it up for this week on Thursday. We'll be back with a long form. show on the devil. So you're going to want to check that out.
