This episode of Cognitive Dissinence is brought to
you by our patrons. You fucking rock. Be advised that this show is not for children, the faint of heart,
or the easily offended. The explicit tag is there for a reason. Recording live from Glorityhole
Studios in Chicago and beyond. This is cognitive dissonance. Every episode we blast anyone who gets in
our way. We bring critical thinking, skepticism, and irreverence to any topic that makes the news
makes it big or makes us mad.
It's skeptical.
It's political.
And there is no welcome at.
Today is Friday, July the 17th.
And Cecil, I would have sworn that if we were going to be talking about the death of a hard right senator today, Friday, July the 17th,
we would be talking, in fact, about Mitch McConnell, who, by the way, I believe is cake.
I am not at all convinced.
You saw that photo.
I did see that photo. So you saw the photo that was circulating.
Yeah, where he looks like a weird animated Muppet.
Where his wife is sitting next to him.
Uh-huh.
He supposedly just had a fall and he's wearing jeans in a hospital.
Yeah.
I don't know, man.
Here's the thing.
Here's what I want to say about that whole thing.
Yeah, yeah.
Here's what I want to say about the whole thing.
You fuckers did this.
You guys are the ones who fucking made this bed, right?
You've made everything into a lie.
There's nothing that we know is true anymore.
Yeah.
You fucked.
you fucking laid reality down and fucked it so hard in every different direction you could possibly
fuck it.
So now you and I, two regular guys who are just like, yeah, reality's pretty cool.
We can't even, I don't even know whether or not the fucking thing they handed to us is a real thing or not.
I'm just like, maybe.
Sure.
I don't know.
Sure.
Could be.
I don't know.
I would love to see somebody come by with a fucking spatula and cut into a stuff.
God, would it be the best.
That would be the best.
I could not agree more.
I know I've been talking about this for the longest time,
but like from the moment that fucking Sean Spicer
stood up in front of everybody
and uttered that phrase, alternative facts.
It wasn't him, it was that Kellyanne Conway?
Was it Kellyanne Conway?
Alternative facts?
It was Kelly and Conway.
Forgive me.
So as soon as alternative facts
entered into this sort of allowable political lexicon,
as soon as that happened,
I thought, oh, fuck, we are screwed.
We are just deeply screwed.
And then you add to that the reality distortion tools of AI that are available for everybody.
Sure.
Now we have a bespoke reality.
Yeah.
That's what we've created.
Everybody gets their own bespoke reality that we're going to live in.
We don't cohere together as a society around a set of, you know, shared understandings of what the world is, who's alive in it or not, how it works, whether things occurred or didn't occur.
You don't know.
You can't.
You can't know.
So, and you're right.
And you're right.
Like they only one side sewed all of those seeds, right?
They walked around gleefully fucking, like Johnny Appleseed with bullshit.
Just throwing it behind them like a fucking sack and being like,
reality is what we decided is.
Reality is what we decided is.
And now they're surprised when they circulate this photo of Mitch McConnell,
absent video, absent any kind of like reporter, one-to-one reporter,
independent verification, medical verification.
Like they don't really present anything.
that you would say, okay, I'm comfortable with that.
There's real good political reasons to say,
there's a possibility he's lying.
Now, I don't want to say any of that's true.
I don't know that any of that's true.
I don't know if that fucker's cake or not.
But what I do know is that, like,
it's hard to believe things anymore.
And I'm not going to insert,
here's what I think without evidence,
because that's bad thinking.
But I am willing to say,
you know what I'm not sure of anymore?
Stuff?
Just stuff?
Yeah, man.
And like, as a joke, like,
and this is me just being goofy.
Mitch McConnell looks so weird in that photo.
He looks like somebody whose brain got fucking completely removed
and is just put on smile and sit mode.
It's a really, really weird uncanny photo.
Now, I did see that the Washington Post or someone else
had a like a photo forensic analyst take a look at it
and said it was a real photo.
I said it was real.
But again, I'm just like, I'm like, sure, maybe.
Well, okay.
Yeah.
Maybe.
I don't know he's alive.
What I know is there's a thing in that photo that you say is Mitch McConnell, although I don't even think they said that.
Like I think from what I read, the analysis was it was a real photo.
Right.
Yeah.
That doesn't mean anything, right?
It doesn't, dude.
And I'm not saying that this is true.
I really want to be clear.
I'm not saying this is true.
I'm not even saying I believe this is true.
But because we can't know and because they're not doing the very easy things that they could do on that side to make it knowable.
Yeah.
what's true because it's so easy to know, right?
Hey, is Mitch McConnell alive and well and, like, sitting up, taking nourishment and talking?
Well, I don't know.
Let's have literally any reporter sit with him for four minutes and just have a quick conversation
or, like, have his doctor's release literally one document or there's so many easy things
you could do.
And they're not doing any of them, right?
So, like, is it possible that he's in, fuck, he's a vegetative state and they fucking
propped him up, taped his eyes open and said, like, here's Mitch McConnell.
I don't know.
I don't believe that that's true, but I'm like, if I found out tomorrow it was, I'd be like, sure.
But my thought process behind it is this.
Until I hear him speak, he's not cogent.
Yeah.
Until I hear him speak words and say things, you can't prove to me that he's not just a sitting-up guy who they had to dab the drool off his face.
Yeah.
How would I know, right?
I can't tell.
What if he can't communicate?
I know.
How do I know that?
You haven't shown me that.
Right. And like, and like I said before, you guys are the ones. This isn't anybody else but you who did all this work to muddle reality for so long that now nobody believes anything.
Yeah. Well, and like, I actually think that now we shouldn't believe shit, right? Like, I think we're in a place now where if you just believe something that doesn't have corroboration by an independent third party, it's you're kind of a fucking crazy person, right?
And what I mean by that, what's like an independent third party?
Well, it's not an interested, invested source.
So if Mitch McConnell's team is the only one circulating this photo and saying this thing,
and literally there's no corroboration from any journalist at all, then I'm just like,
I don't, why would that be something I put in the belief column?
That doesn't, like, it just doesn't comport with the way that that side has chosen to behave.
And what is interesting to me is that there is a group of people.
people on the right who do not believe that he's alive. I've heard this from multiple people,
not just one z-to-sies. These are multiple large mouth, large microphone pundits that are saying
he's not alive. There's other people who are saying they're hearing whispers he's not alive.
There's other people who are talking about it on the news as if he's not, right? So you have multiple
groups of people in that party, not in the Democratic Party. Right. They're in the Republican Party that are
all saying the same thing over and over and over again.
If this is something you can't believe from your party,
what else can't you believe from your party?
Why not extrapolate that out to all the other lies,
the other obvious lies,
the other lies that have been pointed out
and proven that they were lies.
30,000 lies told by Donald Trump
during a certain period of time.
I know it's over that now.
Yeah, right.
But like 30,000 likes.
That was like 40,000 lies.
30,000 lies.
It's an intense amount.
I mean, and this is provable false.
Like, this is all things that you can look at and say, that's all provable false.
When are you going to extend that out?
When are you going to look at the rest of the things that your party is saying about immigration,
about the economy, about tariffs, about whether or not the money that we're sending to different places is actually fraud?
Whether or not the fraud occurred in certain places.
When are you going to draw that out?
Yeah.
Yeah.
I don't know, man.
because we're not.
They're not.
They're not critical thinkers.
No.
To them, this is an opportunity
to put in somebody younger
and more MAGA.
That's what this is.
They don't care if anything else
is real or not.
Because to them,
the ends justify the means.
Always.
So it doesn't matter.
Mitch McConnell's life
doesn't matter to them.
It never matter to them.
It put all of them in power
and will keep them in power
for decades to come,
but to them it doesn't matter.
They want somebody younger, harder.
They want that, they want to take that guy that we put in an Iran and bring him over here.
They want a younger, angrier, more militant person.
That's what they want.
Yeah.
I mean, imagine a world where we're looking and saying, who's more hard line than Mitch McConnell?
Yeah.
Let's get that guy.
That sentence 10 years ago would have seemed like a literal impossibility.
Like somebody more hardline than Mitch McConnell.
That can't possibly exist.
Yeah.
And now that's the position.
I also think it's really worth noting that, one, they know that there's an enormous amount of
like controversy on both sides and that there's all this stuff. And it's, I think it is important
to say, even if Mitch McConnell is alive and well, the fact that they are not doing the easiest
possible thing to quell these rumors shows that they are very willing to continue the reality
distortion, anxiety machine, because I think it benefits them. Yeah. I think that the longer and
the more corrosive effect that the right has on this sort of shared reality that we all used to,
at least to some degree adhere to, I think they want to break that down.
I think that only works to their advantage.
I think that they could do the easiest possible thing and just put this to bed.
But the fact that they continue to not do that on issue after issue and controversy after
controversy, to me that says that they understand deeply that by breaking down,
our shared reality and by getting people to sort of invest in a conspiracy oriented mindset and to
say every time they hear something, I don't believe that. Here's what I think instead and to insert
their personal beliefs or their personal biases and things. That is to their advantage. And they've
seen that. So if I'm on the right, I'm going to say, yeah, I don't want to live in a shared reality
because then if I'm proven wrong, it'll matter. Yeah. Yeah. But if I'm proven wrong now,
because facts and reality and truth
are not objective at things anymore,
we've moved out of the objective space.
Now, that actually doesn't matter.
And I never want to go back to a time when that mattered
because I'll be held to it.
I can't be held to it if it's all subjective.
Yeah.
It's fucking nuts, dude.
Well, I want to play for everybody.
Yes.
Obviously, we also had someone pass away.
Lindsay Graham.
he died at a ripe young age of 71 years old,
a 71 year old, just the prime of his life
when you come to the Senate, just prime age.
And I'm going to play for everybody.
The most important thing we can play
when someone dies like Lindsay Graham or someone else,
and maybe we'll keep it for Mitch McConnell
when it finally comes out in a couple months
when he finally dies.
And it's beneficial.
When it's beneficial.
for them to be able to change exactly how they're going to replace that seat.
Bye, Lindsay.
We are playing the dancing coffin guys.
They're the best.
Thomas promised me that they will dance at my funeral.
100%.
And Tom is going to dance on top of the casket while they're dancing.
I feel like if I'm on top of it, they're going to need more coffin dancing guys.
They're going to need a couple more coffin dancers.
We'll have to hire all of them.
Just get them all over here.
and Ian at this point is
is now doing his best to try
to change the music
underneath this because obviously
it's going to get flag so he's got to
change the music somehow so Ian
congratulations thank you for doing that for us
yeah so
$1,000 says he won't change it will get demonetized on YouTube
all right
so that's uh
that's great that's Lindsay Graham
here's what I want to say about Lindsay Graham
in a in I was going to say in a year but I would say right now
no one will remember his legacy
because what his legacy was
was someone who was an absolute sycophant
he was one of the few people who stood out against Donald Trump
there's tape of him saying he will basically ruin the entire party
I'm paraphrasing but it's essentially what he said
and uh and then he capitulated and he followed Trump
it would you know literally put his nose right in his ass
and followed him down.
There is not going to be
a group of people
who will be remembering
what Lindsey Graham did
or how Lindsey Graham did it.
He's going to be forgotten
just like Rush Limbaugh was.
Think about the legacy.
There's nothing, right?
Nothing there.
Same thing with Lindsey Graham.
There's nothing there
because all you were,
like, there can't be a monument
to your cockholtery, right?
We can't, there's nothing we can do, right?
You didn't do anything.
All you did was you were a yes man.
Will yes men get forgotten in history?
And you will be forgotten.
No one will remember you because you are utterly forgetable.
Yeah, I think that's exactly true.
I didn't thought of it that way.
But like, I do think he occupied the bed facing chair, right?
Yeah, 100%.
Yeah.
When Donald Trump was unlikely to win the primary, he called Donald Trump a race-baiting xenophobe.
That is a quote.
He called him a race-baiting xenophobia.
And then as soon as Trump won the primary, he saw the winds change.
And all he did was just get the fuck on board.
What he represents, I think, is a rubber stamp.
Yes.
He's been nothing but a vocal rubber stamp.
The only thing that he has seemed to advocate for in the last, I don't know, however many years,
is he was relatively staunchly pro-Ukraine.
So that is the only point where I think there was ever any tension between him and the Trump
administration.
Because the Trump administration has not been staunchly anything with Ukraine.
Fucking always just depends on who he just met.
If he met with Zelensky, maybe he'd be pro-Zelensky.
If he'd be pro-Zelensky.
Trump is just like whatever way the wind blows, if somebody is nice to me, that's the guy who I'm on the side of.
Lindsay Graham, I will say, has been pretty staunchly pro-Ukraine.
Other than that, he's a fucking rubber stamp.
He's built an entire career out of just being like, yeah, I'll show up to the Senate.
and whatever the party is going to do,
that's the thing that I'm going to do.
Yeah, what I think they're talking about how much he pushed back
during the Kavanaugh hearings.
That's like one of the crowning achievements
is that he pushed back at how demeaning and awful it was
that they were questioning Kavanaugh
over what it was essentially a sexual assault years and years and years ago.
And he's like, oh, why are we doing this?
And it's like, dude, you're just showing people
why you're a scumbag, right?
But to them, that's standing up to this woke ideology and this liberal machine.
And so that's where they're going to remember him, if they remember him at all.
And I guarantee you they won't.
They won't.
They won't. They'll forget about him instantly.
You know, is it crazy to you that the appointment for his replacement is just going to be
his sister?
Yeah, no, that's, I saw a great skit about it this week.
Someone did a sketch that basically was someone going in to get surgery.
and they said, okay, well, bad news, your doctor died.
She said, oh, that's great.
Okay, well, I'll just change the surgeon.
Like, no, no, your sister's going to do it.
Oh, is her sister a surgeon?
No, her sister's a dentist.
But they've been following his career for a long time.
It's exactly true, right?
This is just a random person.
And the speed and expediency in which they refill that seat, right?
How quickly they immediately swear that person in
shows you exactly what you need to know
about why that's so awful
and why their politics are...
One, their politics don't require someone to be qualified.
That's very true.
We know this to be true.
I mean, the leader of the country
is not someone who's qualified to do it.
Right.
In any way, and he's shown he's not qualified to do it.
His last administration was a disaster
when it came to most things,
the things he didn't actively run into full fucking bore
with his giant body and bang to the ground
kind of sustained themselves,
but for the most part,
the rest of everything he touched fell to shit.
And this is exactly what happened during this administration
because he's now realizing that he can touch shit
and get away with it.
So now he's touching everything.
And he's proven that he's awful at it.
So we know that qualifications don't matter.
But it's embarrassing for them
that that's who they choose
is somebody who's not even really a politician.
She's got like, from what I was reading,
she's essentially, she's not, she's not a politician.
She's not been active in politics.
She's not an activist.
She's not really, like her political leanings
don't even seem to be significantly public in any way.
She's literally just Lindsay's sister.
Yeah.
And she's like, yeah, I'll do my best to honor my brother's legacy.
And you're just like, maybe we should just get a person who's competent,
but that's not what they want.
what they were replacing is a rubber stamp
named Lindsay with a rubber stamp named Lindsay's
sister. It's pretty easy to replace. What did he do?
Right? Exactly. Yeah.
Yo, guys.
What's up?
Falcon, where have you been, man? You almost gave me a goddamn heart attack.
Let me see it. Do you pussy out or what?
No, no, man, I got it. It is flawless. Check it.
Hawaii.
All right, that's good. It's hard to trace, I guess.
Wait, you changed your name to
McLeaven?
McLevin?
What kind of a stupid name is that, Fogel?
What are you trying to be an Irish R&B singer?
Oh, they let you pick any name you want
when you get down there.
And you landed on McLevin.
Yeah, it was between that and Muhammad.
Why the fuck would it be between that or Muhammad?
Why don't you pick a common name like a normal person?
Muhammad is the most commonly used name on Earth.
Read a fucking book for once.
This story is from New York Times.
Takeaways from Trump's address
claiming election vulnerabilities.
Well, he's basically just reiterating
any of the grievances he's had for the last
several years. I did not watch this. I normally try to watch speeches if they're supposed to be
important. But I saw this one come up. And I also saw that couple of the people, the news stations
decided not to run it. So ABC and NBC both decided not to air it. And I thought, well, then why should
I watch it? Yeah. And so I didn't. And I read about it. And I feel just as informed as I was before.
In fact, I saw that they released some information that actually is the opposite of what they're trying to show.
So at a certain point, they tried to show that they're trying to say that there's meddling,
but it shows that some of the stuff that Russia was doing was trying to get people elected.
And they've been complaining and saying, oh, it's Russia, Russia, Russia.
And they released information that showed that Russia was trying to get Biden elected at a certain point.
and things like that.
So they literally let out some information
that they've been pushing against for a long time.
They tried to blame a lot of it on China.
But really, what it showed was
and what everybody has been saying since forever
is that it's really hard
to manipulate the elections
like you think it is.
Yes, there can be vulnerabilities,
but we would catch those vulnerabilities
if the election was massively changed.
And the only way to really affect it
is to massively change it.
And so it's just not,
a thing that we need to be as worried about. But I think the reason why he's doing it is because
he's just trying to prime the pump for more and more election fuckery coming in November.
Yeah, that's exactly it, right? He's rehashing six-year-old claims at this point. None of the
points that he brought up were net new. Nothing is backed up by any new documentation that supports
any of his claims whatsoever. So it's all just a rehash. It's all shit that's been debunked. Or it's like,
well, here's like, to your point, here's vulnerabilities.
It's like, okay, but they don't statistically stack up into anything.
And there's no evidence at all that any of those vulnerabilities were exploited in ways that
would really meaningfully affect an outcome.
What people that sees on this don't seem to recognize either unintentionally or I think
very often intentionally do not recognize is that there is not one election system.
There are 50 elections.
Yeah, great point.
the state, each individual state, runs its own elections.
The secretary of state from each one of those states is ultimately responsible for running those
elections.
Manipulation on a scale that would have to, like, move to 50 different organizations and 50
different counting techniques and 50 different ballot gathering techniques across how many counties
and jurisdictions, like the scale of it is so untenable to even think about.
It's not like there's one great big federal system.
Interestingly, the Republicans are really actively working to try to coalesce things into a single system because it makes it easier for them to control.
It's the diversity of the system that makes it nearly impossible for it to be manipulated by a single actor or organizational actor.
There's no election fraud.
And he's standing up there and he's saying like, yeah, we have the worst election system in the whole world and
all this like crazy shit. None of it's backed by anything. And all of that is just to say,
when we lose in 2026, it will be because somebody cheated. And that is going to be the legacy he
goes out on. It is fucking sour grapes, political poison, reality distortion. Yeah.
Legacy. I wonder how much they'll be able to do. I know that there's been a push to do this
save act. And there's been, they haven't been able to get it completely passed. And they've been trying a lot.
and there's certain Republican senators
that will not do it
that are pushing back on it.
I have heard multiple times
on Joe Rogan's show
he's such a stupid,
just such a stupid person
that he can't stop talking about
how it's awful
that there's no voter ID.
And then he keeps on saying
like you can steal man it all you want
but there's no reason
not to have voter ID.
And really, you know,
the easiest way to steal man
this argument is to just say
voting is a,
right, and the ID is not free.
So it's a poll tax.
That's the easiest way to just, that's it, it's just a poll tax.
Now, whether or not that poll tax matters to you, the guy who just saw in a quarter of a
billion dollar deal with Spotify, that's not, that's not anything, right?
Whether or not it matters to other people, that's the big deal, right?
And it's not just money, it's time.
Yep.
If somehow the government could wave a wand and say, everybody in the election, you know, everybody in the
election has this ID, this ID somehow has your picture on it without you taking your timeout,
and it's free for everybody and you didn't have to do anything to get it, then I would be fine with it.
I'd be like, okay, sure. Yeah, we somehow all have an ID now that none of us had to take time
out to go get and all those IDs all have our photo on them and they're all used for voting,
voting or whatever. Fine, right. I know somebody's going to send me a message, be like, well, that's what
they want us to do or whatever. They're going to say that stuff. But it's like, look, if there's some way to do it
that didn't inconvenience people and was free,
and then they could just shut the fuck up about it.
Because what they keep on doing is they keep on using it as a wedge
to say they don't want it and they don't want it.
Why don't they want it?
And they don't want it because it's all this fraud.
And you're like, there's no fraud, man.
There's so little fraud.
It's a fucking rounding error, the amount of fraud that happens.
But all they need is that wedge.
It's like all they need is something there to say,
there's motive and there's opportunity.
And it's so funny because I'm not convinced that there's opportunity at all.
Yeah.
I'm not convinced there's opportunity.
And I'm also not convinced there's motive.
Yeah.
I'm not sure.
I'm not sure that organizationally there's motive.
Like I think that there might be some dumbass people who would be like, I would love to cheat.
But then it's like, well, but it's the penalties are enormous.
The impact is essentially zero.
And it's very hard to actually affect the cheating.
There are dumb people who do it.
They get caught.
They get caught.
And they're almost always right-wing people.
And they're the worst stupidest people in the world.
They're like, come in and they're like,
This is my mom's ballot.
She said to give it to you.
And then you're just like, okay, yeah, cool, dude.
It reminds me, when I was in first or second grade,
I had to, like, if you failed a test,
you had to bring your test home and have your parents sign it.
It's like Chicago Public Schools back in the 80s.
And I failed a math test,
and I didn't want my dad to know about it.
So I went home, and I signed his name.
But I had first grade handwriting.
Oh, yeah.
Right.
So think about first grade handwriting.
I didn't even know cursive.
So I came in,
and I said, I handed the lady my test, the teacher my test.
And I said, my dad was really tired so he didn't write in cursive.
It feels like the ballot cheating is to that level.
How bad did you get in trouble for that one?
She was so chill about it.
She's like, go home and have your dad actually sign it.
And I was like, oh, man.
And then I erased his name because I wrote it pencil.
It's so funny.

Stories from CNN.
Over 100 House Democrats vote to block billions of dollars
in military aid to Israel,
reflecting growing schism in part.
It's interesting that they call it that
when most of the Democrats did it, right?
It's interesting that that's how they frame it.
It's interesting that that's how CNN frames it.
It still went through because it was all Republicans back this particular bill.
Right.
I think that there's a push to not fund things from Israel.
I think that a lot of people will look at this as confirmation bias of their own ideas
on why the Democrats are choosing not to do it, right?
Some people, I know I would do this and say,
I think that there's been growing sentiment against this very particular.
thing for a long time.
And I think that the Democrats are paying attention to that and deciding not to not to follow
and to choose to vote in ways that represent the people who are the people who are their constituency.
I think the people who were really mad about Israel in the last, before the last election,
are saying, see, it's the people who didn't get elected.
those people, the Democrats saw that,
and they saw that there was a push against them,
that people didn't want to vote for them
if they did this, and now they're changing their ways.
And so to them, they'll look at this
and confirm their own biases and say,
it's because of that pushback prior to the last election
that got the Democrats to lose all forms of government.
That is why these Democrats are doing it.
I would say, these are people who were elected.
Right?
So my evidence is, well, they were elected.
all these people, they were all elected.
So they weren't affected by any of that stuff anyway.
It's not like these people lost.
It's not like these people lost the election.
These people won their election and they're voting against it.
My contention was back before the election, last election,
was that of the two parties,
what's going on in Israel, Israel and Gaza,
the Democrats will be the one to listen to you.
That was my contention.
Maybe you don't like what's happening right now.
And maybe there should be some pushback against it.
And I do agree that there should be some pushback against it.
I think absolutely there was awful what was happening in Gaza and still is, right?
I think it's awful.
I think it's the killing of civilians, the wanton killing of civilians,
the torture and starvation of those people is abhorrent and awful and disgusting.
And I think that there needed to be something that pushed back against it.
I think that pushback would have been more,
would have been stronger and would have been more forceful if we were to have a democratic situation
right now because there just would be more space for it. There would be more space to care about
what's happening somewhere else and not care about the walls closing in on you here.
Well, yeah, let me ask this question. How many Republicans joined in with the Democrats to block
military aid to Israel? Four. Yeah. So when it comes time to make a choice in an election that is a binary
system, you had two choices. You had the Republicans and you had the Democrats. Looking at this,
the Republicans support Israel. And they've supported Israel unequivocally. They went over and made jokes
and signed bombs. They moved the U.S. Embassy in Israel. They have supported Israel unequivocally,
including with Israel's desire to engage with war in Iran. Israel has been wagging. Israel has been
the dog. Yeah. If you were the Republican Party. Sure. So when you had the choice, and you did,
between the Republicans and the Democrats, and your key issue that was motivating you,
understandably, right? I get it. Was who was going to do the least harm and potentially the most
good for the people of Gaza. There is no world where you could say it's either equivalent
or the Republicans. There's no world. The Democrats would have been probably not
solving this problem. I don't want to pretend that they would. I don't think the Democrats were going to
swoop in and be like, hey, we're going to take a strong tack here and solve this problem. I don't want to
pretend that they would. But they certainly would not have allowed the tail to wag the dog here in the way
that the Republicans have allowed it. They certainly would not capitulate, I think, to every fucking
request of Netanyahu. Sure. There was no real choice to make. And yet a lot of people chose to sit it out or to protest.
vote or to do something else. And the result was this guy and this administration. No progress.
I mean, what was Trump's dream? Hey, let's fucking knock it all down, kick everybody out, turn it into a
bunch of hotels. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, it into a resort. Yeah. That's what he wanted to do.
I mean, it doesn't go anywhere because he just says shit. Yeah, I mean, you just made a fucking AI video.
Right. He used, yeah, he used more energy to do that than anything he's ever done in his entire
presidency. God, I know. But yeah, I think you're right. I think I think there is, but, but
I think that people will see this, especially people who are who are sort of poisoned against
the left, the progressive party.
I mean, there's just the Democrats, right?
Like, let's say that even the corporate Democrats, I think that the progressives in the
far left, they have equal hate in often for Democrats for like centrist Democrats,
as much as they hate, if not more than they hate Republicans, right?
and they will say something like, well, this proves to me that not voting them in, that
was the right call. And I look at it completely differently. I think, oh, no, like, if you would
have had a whole Senate full of those people, I think they would have chosen to do this because
they would have heard what you were saying, because they'd have listened to you. And I think
that that's what happened. A couple years ago, this bill would have passed without any incident.
And that's the thing. And it would have been, but because there were protests, because there
people who were saying that this is, that this is bad, they listen to their constituents.
I think there's a big difference between the parties. One side listens if you talk to them.
Instead of just saying, well, you're not doing exactly what I want this second. So therefore,
you're not getting my support. Well, the only constituency that the right listens to are the
oligarchs. Yeah, exactly. That's it. Exactly. They do, I want to be clear, like, they do listen to
their constituency. They just don't consider you part of it. Yeah, you're not it. Yeah. You're not part of the
club. Beat it, you old bitch.
Why are you being so mean to me?
This story's from the Hill.
Mitt Romney on running in 2028.
80-year-old shouldn't be running the world.
Thank you, Mitt.
I don't like him.
I don't like him.
There was a couple of moments in Mitt Romney's career
where I thought, okay, that's
that, you're not awful.
You're not the worst human being ever created.
When he stood up against Trump on January 7th,
I was like, okay, yeah, you know what?
I mean, I'd even been to January 6th evening.
I don't know.
But that night or the next day when he said,
spoke to Congress. I thought, you know what, that's good for you. This is a guy who's pointing out
whose flag was being waived inside of the, inside the Capitol building. I thought he did a pretty
good job. I think the rest of his career, he's been a schmuck. I hate the guy. I think he's terrible.
But I also agree with this. I'm like, you know what? At a certain point, we need to say there needs
to be a maximum age for people in the Senate and in the Congress. There needs to be a maximum age.
We have a minimum age.
We're saying you can't be under 35 and be the president.
Right.
You've got to have some sort of, we can't be like, oh, you're 21, you're our new president now.
We're not allowing that.
Right.
Why don't we do it on the other end?
We know that your cognitive functions on average start to go down at a certain point.
Now, there's some people out there smart as a whip, 100 years old.
Sure.
Those people are great.
But not everybody's smart as a whip and 100 years old.
Some people are in a hospital being held against their will by their wife right now.
Held up.
Their hand is holding their hair up, making them smile because they have some tape on the sides of their face.
Can anyone see where her hand is?
I think her hand is right up there.
I think she's, it's easy to just put it right in the shell.
She's like, Jeff Dunham in him.
Yeah.
Yeah, but, you know, I think I'm like, you know what?
Like, yeah, you should have something in there.
And it's good to hear people say that.
I hope more and more people say it and it becomes a rule.
I do too.
I also wanted to laugh real quick because Mitt Romney refers to the book The Body by Bill Bryson.
And I read that book and I was like, oh, I love fucking Bill Bryson.
Good for Mitt Romney and I have one thing and cut, two things in common.
Guys, we both.
One of the same book.
Yeah.
We read one of the same book.
We both, because he hated Trump from the beginning.
Yeah.
And he's been vocal and consistent and was never a capitulator on the issue of Trump.
He was a never Trump or from the jump.
He called out pretty much what was going to happen if he was elected.
was right about those things, and he never changed that.
He did a lot of other stupid shit.
I don't agree with his values, his principles, his economic policies, his foreign policies.
I'm not a Mitt Romney fan, but he called it.
Yeah.
All I want is a refund.
Refund! Refund! Refund!
Are you crazy?
Refund! Refund!
Refund! Refund! Refund!
Easy, easy, easy, Ray.
Refund.
Refund.
This story's from The Guardian.
U.S. refunds $81 billion in Trump tariffs after Supreme Court ruled them illegal.
Seesal, real curious.
What was your check?
What was your refund check?
I was going to ask you the same question because I think they skipped me.
I feel like they skipped me too.
I definitely paid more for a lot of goods during that time.
I remember right before he got in,
I was looking at a certain type of kitchen equipment.
And that kitchen equipment is pretty expensive.
And I was looking at it and I was like, wow, that's how much it costs.
Okay, maybe in, you know, a couple months I'll do it.
He gets in.
He gets elected.
My birthday rolls around, which is about six months after he gets elected.
It's time for my birthday.
And then my wife is going to get me a nice gift.
And I said, ooh, I'd really like one of these.
And it had gone up by three or $400.
Holy shit.
In tariffs.
Yeah.
Because they were just like, yeah, there was like a 400% tariff on Italy right now.
Yeah.
Well, like, I'm going to explain it because I think people know, but it's just worth saying out loud sometimes.
So here's what happened, right?
So Trump puts these tariffs in.
Sure.
And then the way the tariffs work is that the company importing the item actually pays that bill.
Okay.
So U.S. company.
They pass that on to you.
Then they say, well, we'll just not make us.
No, they don't do that.
They pass the bill onto you.
So you pay now more for all of your goods and services.
They never pass the savings on to you.
Inflation goes up.
They pass the bill on.
you, but never the savings.
Now, they all get money back.
Oh, wow.
So Corporation A, where does that go?
Preserved all of their margins when the tariffs were put in place.
They passed that cost onto you.
Then they get this, and this is just fucking lottery winnings for them.
They just get a great big check.
Yeah, and we paid for it twice.
So they're not going to look through all the bills.
And like write everybody a small check for all that.
They're not going to do that?
Is that not going to happen?
Not likely.
Because it feels like that's what should happen.
That should hire a person.
Dear Mr. Smith, and they'd be like, Mr. Smith, you paid $50,
here's your $50 check for tariffs, they're not going to do that?
Not going to do that.
So you paid twice.
Seems unfair, Tom.
It does seem unfair.
And the second time you paid, you paid interest.
Because this money then goes into the deficit.
So the U.S. deficit now is higher than it's ever been, ever been.
We paid over a trillion dollars just in interest.
on the deficit.
And the deficit went up massively.
Military spending has gone up.
We spent a shit ton of money in Iran.
We are absolutely crushing our economy right now, crushing it.
And if you're a U.S.
corporate nation.
Not like crushing it, like that dude's crushing it.
Like crushing it in the sense that like big foot at those big truck tractor
arenas rolling over a car.
Sunday, Sunday.
At the Allstate Arena, it's tariffs versus your wallet.
It's amazing that we got fucked twice on this.
It's amazing that that happened.
They didn't put any money into the kitty.
There's no shared wealth that got created.
There's no reduction of the deficit, as was promised.
This isn't going to help pay for anything.
Instead, you paid for it on the front end.
Now you're paying for it on the back end.
And giant corporations reap the benefits fucking twice.
Yeah.
And the people who had to charge you more, they're going to get this check.
And then they don't have to do anything with it except for go, well, let me go to the
bank real quick.
Yep.
And then they made more money off you.
Fucking gift, man.
It's a gift.
And it's your money.
It's your money.
You just paid extra for a product for no reason.
None.
For literally no reason.
Because of the sort of whims of an old man who was mad at certain places on the globe,
he was mad at a map.
Yep.
And so he looked at the map and he got mad and he yelled.
And then he decided unilateral.
that this was going to happen,
and it affected you directly.
It affected your money directly.
I went to the fucking store the other day
to look at olive oil,
how much olive oil is.
Imported olive oil is through the fucking roof, dude.
It's ridiculous.
It's unbelievable.
I was running out olive oil.
I'm like, man, this stuff's expensive.
I had to buy California olive oil.
I was like, well, I'm going to have to, like,
decide which one to get.
Because it's at a point now
where you're just like,
I can't just walk in and just buy an olive oil.
Now I've got to be like, well, where is it from?
Yeah.
Because if I choose the wrong one, I'm going to be paying an exorbitant amount for this,
for this olive oil that is essentially the same as the other one.
Now I'm fucked.
And it's why?
Why?
Because he was, because he was in a mood?
Yep.
That's it.
That's it.
He's in a mood twice, right?
So like a big part of like inflation has gone through the fucking roof.
Anybody who's bought a fucking groceries, it's staggering.
It's unbelievable.
God damn
three bags of groceries is $100.
Yeah, you can't, I'm feeding a family of six.
My grocery bill is like it's nauseating.
Sure.
It is nauseating.
And we're not out buying like crazy stuff.
We're a family of two, dude, and it's fucking nauseating for me.
I couldn't imagine what it's like.
It's so hard to look at that bill and to, and it's every week, I'm like, I can't,
this is what I used to spend in a month.
Like it is literally the same amount that I used to spend in a month.
I'm spending it in a week now.
It's not sustainable, but I have to sustain it.
I don't know, like, there's no options anymore.
And for a large swath of America, that means they're eating less.
Yeah, that's all means.
That's all means.
You know, like, I'm complaining because it's, it's not good.
But, like, I want to recognize that, like, I am in a different situation.
For many people in this country, what it means is that they cannot eat.
Yeah.
And so they don't.
Yeah.
They are skipping meals.
They are eating less at each meal.
I was listening to a story the other day about, like, parents were talking about, like,
Parents were talking about like, yeah, when I make food, I only give myself one meal a day because I can't feed my kids three meals a day and I also eat those meals.
So I eat one meal a day and then the rest of my food budget goes to feed my kids.
And that's a common story across America right now.
That's not the government that we're paying for.
This is not the world we're paying, we're trying to pay for.
But you fuck up like an oil is just going to get worse.
And oil is, it jacks the cost up of everything.
Oil of the, that is the hand, right?
That's the hand that pushes everything in every different direction.
And when oil is expensive, that's what you see.
And how awful is it that we live in a time where people were so stupid, so just shockingly stupid, that they looked at the two people and they believed the guy who was holding the Johnsonville Bratz outside of his home or whatever to say,
whoa, we're going to bring the price down.
Look at how expensive this is.
I've never bought this in my life,
but I'm pretending I did.
And so this person who,
they built their entire administration on lies.
We talked about it earlier with the Mitch McConnell photo.
They built their entire administration on lies.
They've lied to us time and time and time and time again.
And all these people who were struggling look to the liar
and they said, yep, I'll believe your lies.
Maybe now, maybe now that you're realizing this,
this, you know, this is two hands on the hot stove.
Maybe now you'll look at it and say, I made a huge mistake.
I made a big mistake.
I made a huge mistake.
I messed up.
Nothing has gotten easier or better economic since Trump came into power.
And like, I do want to point out, too, that the memorandum of understanding and the ceasefire is over.
Yeah.
So it's not even one of the stories we're going to talk about.
But like, it is active fighting again in Iran.
The straight of Hormuz is closed.
the memorandum of understanding has been ripped up. The ceasefire has been declared over.
There is no possibility at this point that gas, oil prices are going to come down anytime in the near future.
So food in particular gets hit twice. It gets hit once because an enormous amount of food is imported.
So we have an enormous amount of food that gets imported. Those imports rely on energy in order to get them from point A to point B.
They have to go on ships. They have to go on trains. They have to go on trucks.
all of that becomes more expensive to move that food around.
It's a big deal when energy costs go up, food prices go up.
But the second way that we get hit is the primary ingredient in fertilizers are petrochemicals.
Petrochemicals are the primary ingredient in all fertilizers.
So growing food at the source level becomes more expensive.
Feeding cattle, feeding livestock becomes more expensive because they're fed stuff that now costs more money to fertilize.
Everything at the base level and at the transport level, all that stuff has become much more expensive.
Refrigeration runs on energy. Energy runs on the back. All of this becomes so much more expensive.
There's no possibility of food prices getting better. The things they wrap things in. Plastics.
That's all plastics. It comes from petrochemicals. We are fucked.
All that stuff. You built your whole civilization on oil. Yep. And when the large producers of oil
can't move that oil around the globe.
That's a real problem.
And only one person made that happen.
Yeah.
And all of it's unnecessary.
Yeah.
It's 100%.
I just want to say, too,
we talked about it for it.
We've got nothing out of this so far.
And you're not going to get anything on it.
Nope.
It's not like in the end,
after this is all over,
it's a better situation than it was day one.
Zero percent chance.
There's no way that's going to happen.
Nope.
It's already not,
even if it stopped today,
and everything went back to,
kind of where it was, it'd still be worse than it was before.
Significantly so.
Yeah. Yep.
Mary?
Yes?
Which passengers, Joe Saluci?
16C, why?
He's carrying a bomb.
A bomb?
No, not a bomb.
Oh, my God, this is a fucking cluster fuck on three levels.
From the Associated Press, New York Times reporters are subpoenaed after Air Force One
stories raising press freedom concerns.
Gosh, this is so exhausting.
I can't believe other people in the world.
would vote for something like this and not feel as exhausted as me, right?
Brother, same.
Because, like, you can't know things if you arrest all the people who find things out.
You'll never know anything.
Just say that out loud again.
Right, I'm not.
I mean, like, seriously, you will never know anything.
Right.
If you throw the people who find things out in jail.
Yep.
Is there anything more authoritarian?
Yeah.
Like, there's nothing more.
fundamentally authoritarian and opposed to freedom.
The Wright likes to walk around with their flags and their eagles and their fireworks and
their fucking constitution, fucking condoms.
They can fuck the constitution into each other at all times.
They love that shit.
They'll fucking love it.
Note to self, sell that at a magisterore because someone would 100% buy a condom at the
constitution on it.
They wouldn't read it, though.
They wouldn't read it.
They wouldn't read it.
They wouldn't read it.
They love freedom, right?
Oh, God, I love freedom so hard.
Oh, God.
I'll fuck liberty.
Lady Liberty.
I'll fuck her.
I can't wait to fuck Lady Liberty.
There's nothing less free than this.
Yeah.
This is the antithesis of freedom.
If reporters can't be like, hey, what's true?
Let's write it down and show people.
And you're like, oh my God, arrest the reporters.
That runs counter to our narrative as an authoritarian fascist state.
100%.
Do you remember the issues that Obama had with reporters?
Do you remember this back in the day?
I don't.
There was some problems where he was,
they were asking,
they were getting
sources
that were top secret
sources to tell them
top secret things.
Oh, I do remember this.
And they were leaking these things out.
And they went after these reporters.
In my opinion,
wrongly, right?
I do remember this.
I remember this, right?
They went after them.
But that's a,
think of the difference
between the top secret reporting
that was going on back then, right?
The leaking of state secrets,
which is what they were framing it as,
and how up in arms the Republicans were.
And I remember thinking it was shit too.
I was like, don't go after these.
These are you need these people.
You can't go after these people.
Same thing here, except for on their side,
it's fucking crickets, right?
It's crickets.
It's bad all around if this happens.
It's bad if this was Biden who was doing this.
100%. It's bad. It's not a good thing to hamstring the media so that then they just only say the things that they feel safe enough to say.
That's real bad for all of us all the time. We shouldn't allow this no matter who is the president.
This is a bad thing. It's a bad precedent. We should not allow those types of things.
And just to give everybody some context, the fundamentals of the story is that remember, Trump got that free jet from Qatar.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
And then they spent 400 million of your taxpayer dollars to retrofit that jet with all the stuff
that turns it from a jet into an Air Force One.
And then he was flying it around.
And it turned out that the Secret Service was like, hey, man, this thing's actually not that safe.
So when you're flying in and out of Turkey, that airspace is a more compromised airspace.
You can't fly the new jet.
And he switched to the old Air Force one.
And he had the new Air Force One meet him in a different.
location where the Secret Service felt that that jet would be safer to travel in and in and out of
that airspace. That's a potentially big deal. We should know why is this jet less safe? Why is the
president going on it? What makes it less safe? Does it not have the right countermeasures? Is it
potentially compromised from an intelligence standpoint? What's going on here? We spent 400 million of our
taxpayer dollars and we all have a vested interest in Air Force One protecting the assets of the
States. That shit is like a real thing that has happened and Trump was furious than any of that leaked out.
Furious. So they're trying to pressure the reporters into giving up their sources.
And also to add to this, remember that this jet follows him home. Right. Right. So another important
piece is that he was given this jet. The government was given this jet, but the government will not
keep this jet. This jet will then be his jet after he steps down from office. In an,
unbelievable act of open bribery that happened in front of everybody's face.
And then after people reported on it and reported the things that he didn't want to be out there,
he sent the DOJ.
And he called supposedly according to this article, he called people that were part of
cash Patel and heads of the DOJ to the White House to weaponize them against reporters,
to weaponize them against the New York Times.
This needs to be at the highest levels,
all those people need to face serious repercussions
if there is ever an opportunity for them
to face those in the future.
They need to be, I mean, I would not,
I would be, we should not be happy
unless Cash Patel is in jail
after all this is over.
Yes, thank you.
You should not be happy unless Pam Bondi,
Dan Bongino, you know,
Christine Noam, Tom Holman, all those, all these people that Mick Wayne Mullins or whatever his name is, whatever the Mark Wayne Mullins or whatever.
Mick Wayne Mullins.
All those people, they need to be in jail after all this is over. They've been not only stealing your money and gallivanting and doing anything they want with it.
They've not only not been bad trustees of your funds as American, as you're the American taxpayer.
They've not only been bad stewards of those funds.
They've also been misusing their office
and weaponizing those offices
against regular people.
And they should face severe consequences for doing this.
They should face severe jail time for doing this.
They should never work ever in the public
for the public again.
They should be consistently barred
from doing any of that work.
Anybody who's done any of these things for them.
And I mean, follow the chain down.
Right.
The guy who walked down.
into the New York Times with the subpoena or whatever,
or whatever they're asking for, right?
Whatever court document they're bringing in.
That person needs to never have a job in the Justice Department again.
100%.
And they should actually be criminally charged for that.
That's awful that people are following these orders
and that we're not going to have anything after this is all over.
That people are literally attacking the fourth estate right in front of your eyes.
I mean, what happened to our reverence of the First Amendment?
Yeah.
We have given up.
We have absolutely given up pieces of the First Amendment that the right has decided are less important than the other pieces of the First Amendment.
Yes, yes.
They selectively, because, like, the First Amendment gives us the right to peaceably protest.
The right doesn't want that.
The right is, since George W. Bush, they have been eroding the right of Americans to protest in public.
Remember the freedom zone?
Absolutely.
Like, the right of the free press.
That is a massive.
And it's in the first one.
I feel like that tells you how important it was, you know?
And they're like, yeah, we want to fucking dismantle that and dissuade that.
Poor fucking cold water on that.
Like, they don't have the right to free speech.
It's like, well, the right to hate speech.
That's what they want to protect.
Well, they want their free speech.
Yep.
In order to, like, be racist on, like, Twitter.
Right.
That's where they think their free speech is being infringed.
Not by the fact that the current government is arresting people who are trying to find out things
that you should know as a regular citizen.
Yep.
Mark Wayne Mullen sounds like a villain in Dukes of Hazard.
It really does.
It really does.
I feel like he should be wearing...
You can't catch them, Duke boys.
I feel like he should be wearing really tight shorts.
There needs to be a hairstyle that's like a Mark Wayne's Mullen Mollet.
Oh, the Mark Wayne Mullet?
Mark Wayne Mollet.
Yeah, I think that would be nice.
Someone's got to turn that into something.
Yeah, I feel like it's a pubic hairstyle.
It's not a party anywhere.
Yeah.
So just pubic hair with light.
It's just crabs.
It's just, yeah.
But it's big ones.
Like North Atlantic.
Crabbs.
Yeah.
I don't know about you all, but I sure as hell didn't come down from the goddamn smoky mountains.
Cross 5,000 mile of water, five mile of water, five my way through half of Sicily, and jump out of a fucking airplane to teach the Natschi's lessons in humanity.
Natsy ain't got no humanity.
New York Times, ICE ordered to cease most vehicle stops after two killings in a week.
Do you see this?
A couple of killings, man, and it's not stopping, right?
Like, that's the thing is a lot of people seem to forget that this stuff is still continuing all over the country.
Yep.
I saw a video from locally.
They've been in the area locally multiple times in the past several months.
There's been video of them being filmed, them pulling their taser out at people, showing the pepper spray, pulling their gun out around here at people who are just trying to film them while they're going through their business.
business. I really feel like every single person who has violated the law have been caught on
camera at all. Violating the law needs to be prosecuted too when this is all over.
100% and I 100% think I don't know that I was I was on board with abolish ice before this last
election. I'm not sure I was there. I was like I was like don't we do we need them? I don't know.
It feels like maybe you wouldn't want some sort of enforcement agency. Was that, is that, is that,
that what you'd need, I'm 100% behind abolishing them.
Yeah.
The criminals, the people who are dangerous, there's already laws preventing those people from doing
things and also police forces, multiple different police forces all over the country,
are looking for people who commit crimes.
Yeah.
So those things already exist.
And we could just snatch those people up like we'd normally do in every other way when a citizen
does something wrong, murder somebody, whatever it is that's bad to steal something.
those people get caught that way too.
We just catch those people the same way.
We don't need an extra set of eyes.
It's not like everybody's walking around
with magnifying glasses like Sherlock Holmes
looking at footprints.
These people are doing the exact same work.
They're not doing anything special.
So get rid of that group.
Instead, do what Mom Donnie's doing in fucking New York.
They asked them about, are you defunding the police?
He's like, no, I'm not defunding the police.
I'm just creating a new agency
that can deal with mental health crisis
and the police won't have to do that anymore.
I'm giving them less work.
I'm not defunding them.
That's what he said.
And it was like, oh, perfect.
He's defunding the police is what he's doing.
But what he's doing is he's saying, yeah, I'm just giving them less work.
And that's what we need to do.
We need to give ICE less work.
And by less work, I mean no work.
Because they don't do anything.
They don't do anything beneficial.
This is a civil offense.
So you don't need an armed person chasing people down.
All you need to do is just follow the civil rules that we already have in place.
And then we can just decide whether or not those people get to stay here.
because if we fund the front end,
we don't have to fund the back end.
Yeah, man.
And like two things real quick to add to that.
Like, first, ICE does not investigate crimes.
Yeah.
So, like, to your point that you were made,
just to add one to it, like, if a crime occurs,
ICE doesn't investigate the crime.
Yeah.
So what happens is the regular police investigate the crime.
And if that person happens to be undocumented,
they may involve ICE at that point.
But ICE is not like, oh, somebody killed somebody.
let me just go Sherlock Holmes that shit
and find out if it was an undocumented person.
That's not how it works.
So they're not investigating any crimes already
in terms of like the things we care about
as far as crime is concerned.
And ICE is not the border patrol.
So people also confuse this.
Like oh my God, if we didn't have ICE,
we'd have open borders.
No, you would still have a border patrol.
You would still have like checkpoints
and cars coming through and people being like,
hey, let me see your passport.
All that stuff is done by border patrol,
which is not the same thing as ICE.
So it's not the case either
because people would say,
oh, then you're going to have open borders
and anybody who comes here
can come here with impunity
and there'd be no way to stop
floods of thousands of people.
Yeah, and that's not true.
That's objectively not true.
You have two different organizations.
ICE are the fuckers wandering around
with fucking guns.
They have not been trained on how to use.
Operating with impunity
as if the whole world is a call of duty game,
beating people,
infringing on the civil liberties and civil rights of our citizenry,
snatching people up into fucking like unmarked cars,
repelling out of helicopters to fucking terrorize children in their beds at nighttime.
This is fucking awful.
When I read that like, just let's think about this headline,
ICE order to cease most vehicle stops.
They're not authorized to do vehicle stops.
Why are they stopping a vehicle?
Like genuine, like not even rhetorically.
Why are they stopping a car?
If I'm driving around and I'm speeding, the local police are supposed to stop me for speeding.
How is ICE supposed to stop a vehicle if they don't know who's like, they don't know who's driving that car?
They don't know.
What is this stop for?
It's racial profile.
Can I just say that they just hold up a indicator on how brown a person is?
Right.
And then make a decision.
That's it.
That should be against the law.
And the Supreme Court is like, it's chill.
That Supreme Court's like, no, it's fine.
That's how you normally do it.
That's crazy to me.
That's crazy to me that you can drive around
and then someone can look at you and be like, yep,
you looked immigrant enough for me.
Yeah, show me your papers.
You looked undocumented enough for me to pull you over.
Yeah, and then they, so on suspicion of brownness,
they pull you over, and now we have a show me your papers law.
I feel like the right, just a hand, like imagine in the 90s,
imagine in the 90s if we said, hey, you know what FEMA's going to do?
They're going to stop people in the street.
I don't know why, but they have a fucking weird hard on for FEMA.
Yeah.
So like, you know what FEMA's going to do?
They're going to stop people and ask them, show me your papers.
And if you don't have citizenry papers, dude, the fucking right-wing militia people would
have gone crazy.
They would have gone bonkers.
They'd be planting fucking rider trucks full of explosives all over this country.
The right was opposed to this shit.
the right was.
And now that it's like, well,
we're going to weaponize it only against the Browns.
Were they opposed to it?
Or were they only opposed to the people who were saying it?
And that's what I have to wonder, right?
Because I think, like, all that famous shit came out when Obama was president, right?
If George Bush would have done that stuff, I think a lot of people would have agreed with it.
I think that there was some idealistic, I don't know that they're around anymore.
I think there was some sort of idealistic libertarian slash far-right people in the country for a little while.
like at the end of Bush's presidency
and the beginning of Obama's presidency.
But I feel like the fucking Tea Party
gobbled up all those people
and sort of infected all of them
with this sort of new conspiracy,
this Great Replacement stuff that happened
that started really sort of around
the beginning of Obama's second term
and just hasn't let up since then.
And I feel like that's sort of what's
manipulating all these people.
So to them, the Great Replacement theory
is what's fueling all this.
Right.
That's what's making the rulings in the, in the court.
It's what's making these people think it's okay to stop people who look a little undocumented today.
You look just look undocumented.
I don't know what to tell you.
Just look undocumented.
So it's just a horror.
And the fact that they said that they're just pausing them for a few minutes because Susan Collins felt a little sad about it or whatever
because one of them happened in Maine.
The only time, of course, she gets to act is when something happens in her state.
And then she gets to feel like a little,
she gets to have her moment of like screaming for a minute
while the camera focuses on her
and makes it look like she cares about things.
I fucking hate that lady.
I fucking hate that lady.
There's a few people.
I can't stand in government.
And I just hate her because she's so fucking weak.
Like just stand.
If she stood up to him once in a while
and didn't, and wasn't like the token person
who pushed against it in the times that it didn't matter,
I would have some respect for her, but I have no respect for.
She never stands up for anything unless she knows that it's going to go through and she could do it performatively.
Yeah.
Just be someone.
Yeah.
Just fucking be.
Every time I see Susan Collins, we just fucking be somebody.
Who are you?
Yeah.
You're nothing.
Like, she is such a raw, naked political actor.
Yeah.
That's all she is.
Yeah.
And I'm not, don't get me wrong.
There's plenty of those.
Oh, 100%.
I think Lindsay Graham was one, right?
Perfect example of them.
Exactly.
But there's a lot of them.
But she just awful to me.
And I see that I'm just like, you're just like all the rest of these people.
All right, that's going to wrap it up for our show this week.
We'll be back next week.
We're going to leave you like we always do with the skeptics greed.
