Cognitive Dissonance - Reminder - No Show this Week

Hey, everybody. No intro this week because there's no show this week. Tom is still with his wife right now. She is still recovering from the surgery, which she had a couple weeks ago, and Tom is unavailable this week. I had put something together, but it fell apart. And so I don't actually have a show this week. I was going to try to power through something. It's hard for me to do something on my own, obviously, because it's a conversation show. And who wants to listen to one guy talk when there's a conversation that should be had between two people? That's what people signed up for.

They didn't sign up for a conversation between me and myself, which is probably not. nearly as interesting as a conversation with me and Tom. So Tom's on a rail wasn't available, couldn't put anything else together specifically. So we're going to skip the week. We're putting in this placeholder, though, just to remind people that Tom is still out. It's my great hope and Tom's great hope that he'll be back to record. We'll be recording hopefully next Thursday and then we should have a show out for the following Monday. So we should have a cognitive dissonance. There's been so much. We've got a million things to talk about obviously since Tom took off the couple of weeks. So hopefully there'll be a good show there.

In the meantime, well, you normally would spend some time. You would listen to the show and you would spend the amount of time it would take for you to listen to the show. Maybe spend that time this week. Going to look to see to make sure you're registered to vote, double checking to see where your polling place is, perhaps checking to see if your state is in danger of losing its vote by mail. and if it is, finding out those things and making sure that you could then vote in your upcoming election in person. And you might also take a tiny bit of that time

that you would normally do because that's not going to take up the entire time it would take for you to listen to a show. Call somebody you know and say, hey, are you registered to vote? And maybe you should remind them to check on how they can vote. We don't have a lot of power

in this current administration. It's very difficult to, to get anything done, the real only chance we're going to have, folks, the only chance we're going to have of any way writing the ship is going to be the midterms. And it looks like they're doing a lot of midterm fuckery. We'll talk about it on the upcoming Monday, obviously. We're going to cover some stories that'll have to do with that. But there's going to be some fuckery with the midterms.

So take this moment, this moment that I'm giving back to you. We're to listen to the show. I'm giving you this 45 minutes to an hour. Use it to help bolster and make sure you. have a vote, bolster your friends vote or your family's vote or your acquaintances vote and make sure they can vote as well. That would be a great use of that time. All right, we're going to be back hopefully, like I say, fingers, all the fingers crossed for the upcoming Monday. We hope Haley's doing well and we want to, obviously, we want to make sure that she is as well as she can be before

Tom comes back to the show. So we're hoping that she heals very quickly. All right, that's it. And we'll be back on Monday. We're not going to leave you with Skeptics to Creed this week because it's not a show. So we're going to be back, hopefully, the following Monday. Take it easy.
