Hey guys, so I've been a little busy with exams and stuff but I've just got a little bit of a break So I'm going to show you how to root your phone So as you can see by that laggy transition I'm back on gingerbread and the first step you want to do is to set up your phone So first go into applications and make sure unknown sources is ticked Go back out and then go into development settings and make sure that USB debugging is also selected Now this is critical for your computer to recognize your device properly Once this is done go down and click on my first link and and this will be the link to the Samsung USB drivers.

And this is for the people that don't have Kai's installed. If you do have Kais's software, or it's a Samsung software installed, all of this should already be done. The next thing you wanna do is click on the second link that I'll have, and this is to download the route exploit. Now this thing is absolutely greatly done. What it is, it's just a one-click route method,

but instead of running a script, well it does run a script, but you can't see any of that. It's all nicely and packaged in this really great program, you just kind of click on it and it routes your phone. So this is kind of for the people that are a bit scared and just want something simple and it's just a one-click easy method to root your phone without too much tinkering. Else I can show you how to do the same thing or get a route with a custom kernel. I'll show you that a bit later.

But anyway, so just install it and basically make sure your phone is in USB storage mode once you plug it into the computer. So just it should take a second only like... not that long and then once that's done just go back to your route button and just click root and it'll run the script and pretty much it should take not too long basically we'll just ask you to select your device which is already the Samsung Galaxy Note obviously and then just let it run and it will root it automatically like that so that is very easy how easy is that guy so all thanks goes to Dr Keaton from XDA and also the XDA

crew that helped with this exploit. It's just absolutely amazing. Now for those people who are a bit more adventurous shall I say, how about we go ahead and install a custom kernel and I'll also say how to install a custom wrong. Now this isn't really too hard, it's just basically the same kind of thing. There's two, basically two main ways of doing this. One is by Odin and that's a flashing software for Samsung phones and the other way. is by Clockwork Mod Recovery. Now, once you flash the kernel, you will get Clockwork Mod Recovery,

so you can do anything else you want to from there. But I'm just going to basically show you how to flash a kernel and flash a custom ROM. And I'll have the links to those in the description as well. And install it like you would any other program. And then put your phone into something called download mode. So hit the home button, the power button and the volume down button all at the same time and keep holding them. And then it would automatically kind of reboot and then go into the download mode. Only let go when you see the Samsung splash screen or this screen right here.

So that's right there is just the download mode. So once that's done, the next thing you want to have to do is connect your phone to the computer and make sure that when you open up Odin that you select the PDA button and right here I'm going to install a custom kernel I'm just going to show you how easy it is so click the PDA button but the main thing to make sure is only press the up button once your phone is plugged in and also only start Odin once the phone has been recognized that is extremely important so when you see that orange sorry well yellowish box to the left highlighted that is when you are able to start so to start

the process the kernel will flash just that fast and then the phone shall have a little downloading thing and then reboot straight away and you should have a green pass box and that's it it's it'll reboot and you have a custom kernel now with a clockwork mod recovery and a it's rooted as well and yeah so this is pretty straightforward pretty easy and it's exactly the same thing if you want to install a custom ROM just hit PDA download the link that I have make sure it's in dot MD5 format and then just double click on it and start it once the phone has been recognized now a note about all this don't please don't install
