Starting point is 00:00:00 Right now, there is a lot going on. The dangerous and growing surge of new coronavirus cases across 40 states. A pandemic that is not going away. Can we turn this around? Can we turn these numbers around? I believe the answer is yes, but we have to do things differently than what we've been doing. A reckoning. And we don't get no justice! With racial justice.
Starting point is 00:00:24 We don't get no justice! With racial justice. Okay, so you have this kindling and George Floyd's and Breonna Taylor's killings were just like the matches here? Yeah, and this kindling is essentially the baseline. Oh, and a presidential election. Five months from now we're going to defeat sleepy Joe Biden. Where it's looking like the old rules no longer apply. Is there a cost to playing his game of name calling and petty insults? Well, I mean, there's been a big cost to the United States and to this country with the way he's conducted himself and he's dividing us on his way out the door. With everything that's happening, it's not enough to just read the headlines. You need to let them sink in.
Starting point is 00:01:09 So follow or subscribe to Consider This, where we will give you the biggest stories of the day and help you make sense of them too. Every weekday afternoon from NPR.
