Hello everyone, welcome back to my 30-day careers live stream series.
And today we are on day 10 and I have a very, very special topic I want to share with all of you today.
And that is every confused 9-5 working professionals question that they have in mind
and it's quitting your nine to five job should you do it should you not do it do you hate your job
like what's the backup plan should you maybe start a side hustle should you become an entrepreneur
um do you want to drive a lamborghini um all these questions that I have been hearing from a lot of 9 to 5 working
professionals, particularly nowadays when, you know, site hustles, online business, online
millionaires are quite the big deal, quite the big deal nowadays. So the inherent question that I have
been seeing, not just on social media, but also in some of my DMs over the past couple of weeks, it's all about,
hey, Mei Ping, do you think I should quit my 9 to 5 job and go and become a business
owner, right?
Become a, maybe, you know, run my own business.
I can have financial freedom.
I can become a millionaire and maybe a billionaire.
What do you think? Should I quit or should I
still stick to my very boring nine to five in the corporate world? So what do you think and
where are you right now in your career? So chances are if you are listening to my podcast
or you are on my LinkedIn or any of my social media platforms,
you would know that I talk a lot about the 9 to 5 corporate world because that is still
the most practical learning area for a lot of us who are starting our career.
And at least a couple of years into your career, you may be still lacking some skills and knowledge and actually learning how to work efficiently and effectively it's something that
the corporate environment really trains you up right to be able to do any of that so sometimes
when i look at um different kind of contents on social media saying that oh you know the nine to
five um world sucks and all those things like I feel very conflicted because I mean,
I get that sort of frustration of like working in a structure and that's
really not for everyone. But at the same time,
I do also think that it's really,
really important to learn how to work in a clear structure,
to learn how to work with people and to learn how to work in a dynamic
environment that may present certain challenges. But at the same time, you still have that kind of support,
whether it's your senior, your manager, your director, and so forth,
to help you navigate through.
So this is what I would compare a bit of a more of a corporate structure
that has the kind of support system versus running a side hustle,
being an entrepreneur, or really working in a very, very new startup,
which actually has a very different dynamic.
So these are some of the things that I want to share.
And also, I think that a lot of people,
when they come to me saying,
hey, Mipin, I think that quitting my 9-to-5 job
seems to be the answer because I see a lot of people
are making money and it seems really, really easy to become successful,
you know, make six figures, seven figures,
if not eight figures as an entrepreneur.
And is that something that's actually feasible?
And, you know, is it time for me
to leave my 9-to-5 world behind?
So the question then is, right,
okay, for those people who are complaining about,
you know, wanting to quit their jobs, like, without a backup plan, then, you know, my question for you
is, like, okay, but what is the plan? Like, okay, if you really say that you hate the 9 to 5, then,
okay, but what do you want to do after that? Like, what else is available to do?
And secondly, do you have the skills
to pursue something else, right?
Do you have the skills to pursue something else?
So these are honest questions
that only you can answer yourself
and no, you know, fancy cars
and like no fancy mentions of social media
is going to give you that answer
because at the end of the day,
like it is really down to your capability as well.
So if you want more like career planning content, you know,
I share a lot on my social media, you know, YouTube, Spotify,
and a lot more other platforms, probably Instagram and TikTok nowadays as well.
But probably today, right, let me share a little bit of my experiences and maybe what you can expect
when you are doing a side hustle or you just, you know, want to quit your job cold turkey, you know,
don't want to leave the nine-to-five anymore and you want to, you know, be an entrepreneur, you know,
be a freelancer, right, you run your own side hustle, is it like a really, really good idea?
Now, here is the hard truth
that I want to share
with all of you
and I feel like a lot of
I guess entrepreneurs
or like small business owners
or solopreneurs
or whoever
do not talk about it as much.
Actually, it takes a lot of skill
and I'll be 100% honest.
It takes a lot of skill
to make a side hustle happen.
It takes a lot of skill to make a side hustle happen. It takes a lot of skill to make a small business survive. I'm not sure if you guys know, but there's this really,
really popular statistics out there that say that like 95% of like businesses fail
in the first five years. Shocking because, you know, we tend to hear about the successful ones.
We don't really tend to hear about the ones that didn't make it. Obviously, you know, we tend to hear about the successful ones. We don't really tend to hear about the ones that didn't make it.
Obviously, you know, it's already over.
Like, who cares, right?
Which is, you know, now everybody moves so quickly
that things that didn't work out, you know,
most people don't really care anymore,
which I think is really, really unfortunate.
But let me give you some perspective.
Right now, I technically, I'm a career coach but i guess technically technically
you can say that i'm a small business owner i'm a solopreneur right something similar i run my own
business um so to speak so in when you're working in corporate right you're only doing specifically
like what is in your job uh your job description right so you have a very specific roles and responsibilities,
whether you're an executive,
manager, director,
or even C-suite.
You have very defined
roles and responsibilities.
You upskill mindset,
skillset, visibility strategy,
reputation strategy
to be able to deliver
to that level, right?
And that's really
what I teach as well.
I have like a full-blown online course
on the three-step framework
on how to become successful in the corporate world.
And like 99% of my students who sign up
are working in the 905, and that's fine.
But let me tell you that for me,
as an entrepreneur, for lack of a better word,
I'm basically the chief everything officer.
Yeah, CEO sounds fun. Like, no like no everything and when i say everything it's um uh it's everything it's everything so example
you are the salesperson you are the um no you're first first and foremost you're the content
creator right first and foremost i'm the coach i am First and foremost, I'm the coach. I am the trainer,
right? So I'm the coach because I have a lot of one-on-one clients. I have clients who join my online course and I also give free coaching in my online course, right? Second, I'm a trainer.
I do run live training workshops or virtual training workshops. I am a speaker, right? I do
specialized events, mainly on career growth, personal branding, LinkedIn branding,
and so forth.
Then the fourth one, I am also a content creator.
So I create tons of content across multiple social media, LinkedIn, YouTube, Spotify,
TikTok, Instagram, everywhere else.
So number four, I'm a content creator.
Number five, I am supposedly the CEO, and then I'm the salesperson. I'm the
marketing person. I'm the finance person. I am the operations person. I'm also the chief of
partnerships. I'm also the administrative assistant to reply to all the DMs. I am the chief everything
officer. Now, all these titles,
right, sounds like,
you know, it's really fun. Wow, sounds like, oh my god, that's like
a lot, blah, blah, blah. And it is
a lot. It is a lot. But what
people don't always discuss, and a lot of people,
I think, see the successes, but
what they don't discuss is
how much skill that
is needed to be
where you are?
Especially, you know, the solopreneurs
and people who are doing side hustles.
Normally, like you're sort of like a one-man show.
You do everything on your own.
So how much skill is that?
Because can you imagine that if in an organization,
let's say you're an executive or a manager
at your current job right now.
You're working in a 9-to-5 corporate world, right?
So if you don't know something, you can probably go
to your manager. Your manager probably has more work than you
and if you're a manager, you don't know, you can
probably go to a director and get
your answers that you need. Or
you can be delegated to someone else.
But these things
is not very clear-cut.
If you're a sole entrepreneur,
basically you need to know
everything, which is a bit of a headache.
And particularly, if you are working with a startup, generally things are in a pretty chaotic situation.
Because some priorities are more important than others.
So it takes a lot to be able to get something actually off the ground.
And personally for me, I feel really, really, really thankful
that I'd say that career coaching found me.
I didn't specifically, you know, set out and say,
hey, you know, I want to become a career coach or anything.
It wasn't anything like that.
And the main reason was because I took a career break
to spend time with my mom who was ill.
And I'm not going to repeat the story here.
I mean, it's on my blog if you guys want to check it out later.
But during that time when I was basically a caregiver, to repeat the story here i mean it's on my blog if you guys want to check it out later but during
that time when i was basically a caregiver um there were a lot of people reached out to me
asking me if i can share career advice or help review resume help them prepare for their jobs
and i help them solve some of their work problems and then clients started paying me so i'm actually
really really thankful that i actually go through the tough you know the tough months of like
actually finding clients who want to work with know, the tough months of like actually
finding clients who want to work with me.
I think that sort of like naturally happened
and I'm still really, really thankful today
that up to today,
I am still getting so many DMs
on multiple social media platforms
for clients who really are ready to work with me
and ready to, you know,
engage and get my help as a coach.
And also, you know, to sign up for my program, even though they've never ever spoken to me. I have and also to sign up for my program,
even though they have never ever spoken to me.
I have some students who sign up for my program
like they have never ever ever spoken to me
on LinkedIn and other social media,
but they just kind of come across
and then the content, the course materials
made sense to them and they just sign up.
So for that, I am extremely, extremely thankful.
But I will say that if you are thinking about
just quitting your 9 to 5, cold turkey,
without any plan, just based on the pictures that you see on social media, I think that
you should probably think twice. Because the question for you really is that, are you ready
to be the chief everything officer? The chief everything officer. If right now in your corporate job right now
you are already struggling to handle that whatever piece that is given to you let me tell you that
like when you do your your side hustle your solopreneur entrepreneur this thing gonna multiply
by 1000 so at that time you are only that one person right then the most realistic realistic
question is then you know even if you have the mindset for success,
like you want to achieve big things, right, but then the realistic question is then, do you
actually have the skill set to be successful, to run your own side hustle, to run your own,
you run your own business, if let's say you're saying that, okay, nine to five is like a complete
no-no, right, so if nine to five is complete no-no, then like, what else?
And more importantly,
do you have the skills for that?
What else?
Whatever else, right?
So, I mean, this is obviously, you know,
not to scare you from your future career ambitions.
I always believe that if you want something
and you really put in the effort, right?
Get the right, you know,
drill in the right mindset,
you know, gain the right skill set,
keep practicing,
mastering all these skills
and like be brave.
All those things are really, really true.
Like you can definitely get there.
But what I'm just trying to say
is that like the journey,
it's a journey, okay?
It's not the happy journey
with people on like Lamborghinis
and sports cars
that you see on social media.
That's not really true.
And if that, even if that is true, that is actually a small, small, small percentage of people.
And most people actually do struggle. And that's why I say that, you know, I'm still really, really,
really forever thankful. So usually, if somebody comes to me on my social media asking me, Mei Ping,
what do you think? Do you think I should, you know, pursue my side hustle 100%?
Then, or, you know, you can actually stay in my 9-5 job
and just stick it out and just like, you know,
think about that opportunity later.
Now, if you're watching or listening to this live right now,
let me know, has any point in time you think of
just quitting your 9-5 job and starting a business?
Let me know in the comments if you are watching live and how did it go?
Was it difficult? Was it easy?
You know, did you feel that it was the right decision for you?
Because I can tell you what I tell most of the people who come to me on social media asking me whether,
oh, Mei Ping, this whole career coaching thing sounds really cool.
Or this whole entrepreneur thing, you know, sounds like a good idea.
Should I go for it?
Now, I'll tell you this.
If you're jumping into something because it's a good idea, you probably shouldn't.
Because when you're in the grind, the idea is that 1%.
The execution is the 99%. Everybody has an idea. Let me tell
you this. Everybody has an idea. But how many people can actually execute and have that
consistency is one thing. The other thing also is that accuracy and continuously getting results
and adding value. I'll give you a really simple example.
Now, a lot of people think that,
ah, career coach, so easy, right?
Maybe you're just sitting there every day
and talking to your clients.
How difficult can that be?
So I'll give you guys some real reality around it, right?
The reality is that, you see, right,
as a career coach, probably what you see
and what my one-on-one clients experience is that one-on-one coaching session with me, right? However, let me tell you
the things that I do every day. Luckily, you know, thankfully, I'm actually a person who is actually
really creative. So I come up with content ideas very quickly. And, you know, when I post or share
on social media, normally it's really fast. Like I write my LinkedIn post,
like literally when I wake up,
I type my LinkedIn post like in like five minutes or something,
then I post it.
So usually I post on LinkedIn
around probably like eight o'clock in the morning, right?
And then of course on all the other social medias,
like for me to come out with content actually is really fast.
The reason is because I have been in the corporate world
for a long time i've worked
with people from across different sceneries so for me it's actually really easy for me to understand
your problems as long as you are working in a nine-to-five job like most of my clients who
come to me say that oh actually maybe you can understand my problem very quickly you can even
really understand how i feel yeah that's because i've been there or i've actually worked with
people who have been there it's a lot easier for me to understand your situation. But what you see that is just
that one-on-one, right? Then the other things as well. So I currently do have an online course.
It's called The Corporate Survivor that really focuses on the three-step framework on how to
become successful at your corporate job. So anyway, if you want to find out more, it's www.thecorpussurvivor.co. And in this program,
right now, it's on an online portal. And I do offer like a one-time bonus coaching call with me.
Now, it sounds very simple, right? It's on an online portal, like, you know, what's there to do?
No. When students sign up, I need to send like onboarding emails. I need to make sure that
everything is okay. All my students get instructions.
They get all the login details.
They get all the links that they need
to book the coaching session with me.
And then during the bonus call,
I also have to make sure that I understand their problem
because after going through the course,
where are they in the course
and kind of like what they are learning,
what their problems are,
all those are still, it's work, okay?
It's not
like for fun it's still work right so these are things that a lot of people don't see like for
example another thing that i do is that i do um i do speaking events right i do speaking events
where i'm the keynote i may be the only person who um basically is engaged by a company so
sometimes companies reach out to me asking me if i can do like a networking talk or like linkedin
branding talk or you know teach a communications workshop or something like that
right and all these things right what you don't see are all the emails back and forth all the
meetings and you know clarifying what's the requirement and how we're going to do it and
what's the scope all these things like you don't see what you see on screen is like maybe came on
live at nine o'clock today and then she's just going to chit-chat. But think about it, right?
Where do you think the knowledge comes from?
The real reason why I really, really
love live streams and I really like to do
things live is because I always believe that
if you know it, you know it.
If you don't know it, you can't do live.
Because
I'm not sure about other people, but
I have really bad
memory skills. I can't memorize a single thing
from the time that I was studying
for my exams in high school.
I cannot memorize anything.
But that's what I'm trying to say
in terms of there's a lot more work than you think.
And over time, confidence comes from competence.
And what does competence look like?
Getting the knowledge, getting the skills,
the expertise and practical experiences that will actually equip you for success. competence and what does competence look like? Getting the knowledge, getting the skills,
the expertise and practical experiences that will actually equip you for success.
Now, it may sound like the most boring thing in the world. Oh, Mei Ping, you know,
why do I actually need to get into my 905? I hate it, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.
Then again, if you move out too quickly, but you have never truly learned how to communicate with people.
If you cannot communicate with your colleagues,
what makes you think that you can communicate
with your clients?
Very difficult, honestly.
So there are things that if you cannot
build relationships with people at work,
then what makes you think that
you can build relationships with your audience,
your clients, your vendors, your partners,
all these people that you don't see every day.
It's even more difficult to build relationships
compared to maybe your colleagues that you see every other day
or your boss, right?
Right?
Then the other thing is like, for example,
the other skill probably you need, really, really need,
critical thinking.
So if you cannot solve small problems at work,
how are you going to solve big business problems
that is really massive headache for everyone, right? Then other things such as, okay, creative thinking. If you're
not training your creative thinking at work, it's a small scale, how are you going to be a lot more
creative to solve a problem or to explore new things as part of a side hustle or a business?
Very difficult. I'm just being honest here, like, it's really quite difficult. So, anyway, aside
from that, obviously, there's the other very, very important skill as well, and it's all about
productivity. Because as a side hustler, solopreneur, entrepreneur, you need to be able to
manage yourself, and you need to be able to self-manage and manage yourself remotely. Because
most of the time, like, you're working on your own your own. There's like tons of things that's going on.
So how do you make sure
that everything moves ahead, right?
If you don't have the experience
of actually managing what's urgent,
what's important,
what needs to be done and by when,
and more importantly,
still maintain the quality.
It's not easy.
Not easy, guys.
I'm telling you this.
And I think, you know, thankfully,
I think the reason why I survive right now,
I'm really, really thankful.
My little coaching business, it its third year this year.
This year is 2022.
It's in its third year.
So I'm really, really thankful to every single person who is very supportive.
But the reason why I really wanted to share, like, in today's live stream is that
I just want to let you know that it's not the easiest thing.
And, you know, you're working hard.
It's just like a small part of the equation,
right?
Working smart,
there's a lot of other things,
there's a lot of other skills that honestly,
I think that
if you really want to start
a side hustle,
you should really be aware
of all the skills gap
that you have.
And if you can learn it
in corporate,
like why not?
Like somebody else is,
you know,
paying you to learn.
So I think why not?
And then when you actually start
being serious about your side hustle,
you're a solopreneur, entrepreneur,
I don't know how many years down the road,
it could be 12 months,
it could be a little bit longer,
I'm not sure,
then you can actually set yourself up for success.
Because what's not fun,
and I've seen it happen to people before,
is you quit your job,
you go into this side hustle,
you do it one or two years,
it fails,
you get back to a job,
you already feel so demotivated,
you feel like everything's not working out
and then a few years,
you try again and you feel like
it's because you're lacking some skills
to go all the way.
So mindset is one thing.
I know there's a lot of motivational content
around business mindset and all those things and those things are important, don't get me wrong, but I think know there's a lot of motivational content around business mindset and all those things.
And those things are important, don't get me wrong.
But I think that there are a lot of skills
that you should learn in corporate first
if you really have ambitions.
Because if you look at those really big entrepreneurs out there,
a lot of them actually also started in a full-time job.
It's not fun.
I'm sure that period of their life wasn't fun,
but it's a really, really important,
probably part of the process
to build that solid foundation
before you do something else
which requires you to be creative,
problem-solve for the client,
build relationships, build partnerships, right?
Yeah, be creative, showing up for your audience, you know, delivering results and being, you know, productive, self-leadership,
self-management, remote working. All these things are not as easy as it sounds. It may sound like
something easy, but it's really not as easy, okay? So, at this point in today's live stream,
how many of you
still want to
work on your side hustle?
Let me know in the comments.
I'll be really interested
to hear.
And also,
maybe let me know
in the comments as well.
What kind of side hustle
are you thinking of?
What kind of passions
or interests that you have?
And share a little bit more.
I'll be really interested
to hear from you.
I always think
it's very,
it's actually
very, it's actually very it's
very good thing that like a lot of people are pursuing their passions and passions is one of
those things that i do talk about a lot as well um but what i'll say is this a passion does not
equal competence just because you're passionate about something does not necessarily mean that
you have the skills to do well so if you want to pursue your passion towards success,
then you want to make sure that you're actually equipping yourself with the necessary skills to be able to get towards that success, if you get what I'm trying to say. Okay.
So at this time, thank you everybody for joining in live. I probably want to pick up a couple of
comments. So I'm streaming on LinkedIn, YouTube, as well as Facebook. So if you are new
to this live stream, this is, my name is Mei Ping. I'm a professional career coach and former
corporate leader who has managed multi-million dollar portfolios, as well as working people
across 43 countries. So nowadays, as a career coach, I help mainly nine to five working
professionals to survive in the corporate world by upskilling their mindset, skill set, and visibility strategy.
So if you have missed any of the previous live streams,
make sure that you check out the replays on my YouTube channel as well as Spotify.
If you want to catch the live sessions all throughout May 2022,
join me at nine o'clock, Malaysia, Singapore, and Hong Kong time.
And be part of the discussion, be part of the chat.
And let's really learn from some of the really trending topics
and conversations out there.
And I'll tell you that how I get inspiration for these topics
on these live streams are a lot of the content that I see
on various social medias
that I'm on especially when I see some content that I do not necessarily agree with and for me
to really share a little bit of my perspective as well so if you have been listening in and
watching instance day one which is on the first of May thank you so much for joining hopefully
that you are also getting some very interesting experiences and stories that I've been sharing
and insights and perspectives throughout the days as well. And make sure that you join the
other days also. So let me have a quite quick look at the comments. Hi, James. Good to see you here.
Hi, Buwan. Good to see you dialing in from YouTube. Hi, Marco. Hi, everyone. Hi, everyone.
Hi, Keith. Thanks a lot for joining as well. So, let's
take a couple of interesting questions
and obviously, you know, I
am not
a business coach nor do I want
to be a business coach. So,
take this as you will. This is
just my personal experiences of
my third year in my little small
career coaching business,
if you can call it a business,
and really be able to share
some of my personal experiences with you.
So, you know,
the main goal of today's session is,
yeah, think about it.
If you really want to quit your nine to five,
like, you know,
are you really ready?
And I think that's really a question
that you can ask yourself.
So let's have a look at a couple of questions so first question is is it difficult to start
a side hustle so as i've been sharing throughout today's live stream it's obviously starting is
very easy right you can easily call yourself a ceo and then like that's that but the actual
substance of what you are doing the real thing is that you ask yourself
whether are you truly ready to be a chief everything officer?
And do you also have the necessary skills to be able to do so?
And I think that that is an honest conversation
that I think that you should have with yourself.
All right.
So, hi, Dr. Alex. Thanks a lot for joining from dubai as well good to see you here
okay so yeah i'm seeing another comment i'm in the midst of finding my side hustle
so i think that's um that's actually really admirable and i do think that you know
at the end of the day if you are working um at a nine to five job you can find passion in your
job you can find a
lot of interest and enthusiasm in your job but i also think that you know we are people and we can
have like multiple interests and passions and i think that if it's more fulfilling for you like
you know feel free to explore side hustles you know whether it works out or not and whether you
want to take it seriously or not it's probably something that you can consider a little bit later. But at a minimum, I think you can still enjoy it as a hobby.
And I also believe that side hustles do teach you a lot of important skills
that may be very helpful in your career as well.
So I'll give you a very simple example.
This is actually an example from a long, long, long time ago.
So before I graduated as an accountant, in case you guys don't know,
I'm actually a charter certified accountant, ACCA, FCCA from the UK.
A lot of people don't know this, but actually before I became an accountant
or rather officially graduated as an accountant,
I actually used to have an online blog shop.
And I'm not sure if you all remember, like back in 2007, 2008,
like it's all the rage, right?
A lot of people had like online blog shops and stuff before, you know,
the whole internet blew up.
So I used to have an online blog shop.
And one thing I truly, truly learned about having an online blog shop at that time
was really customer communication.
Like how to talk to people online
in a very understanding way,
trying to understand what they're looking for,
and really having that polite back and forth conversation. So to me that was really the um biggest skill that i learned
and that the second related skill that i learned actually was um organization skills so uh i don't
have any of that right now as a career coach but uh in the past that when i was running my online
blog shop obviously we had like stock right like clothing and stuff like that so you also really
need to like keep a good track of
like where everything is at and that actually required a lot of organizational skills as well
so i think those were the two um good skills that i picked up when i was doing my little
side hustle you know back in 2007 long time ago but that helped me a lot when i did my internship
or when i started my full-time job because to me I didn't start from
fresh I already knew how to communicate with customers I already knew how to learn how to be
a little bit more productive and so forth so all these things are really good skills that you can
learn as well you know leadership a lot of other things that you can also learn from your side
hustle so what I'll say is this like if you go in with the intention of like really really making a
lot of money then you need a lot of upskilling and I'll just be honest here but if you go in with the intention of like really really making a lot of money then um you need a lot of upskilling and i'll just be honest here but if you go in with the mindset
of like hey you know i'm just wanting to try out my passion we'll see how it goes but at least i
get to learn some important skills and that may be really important in my career now or in the future
and i think you're actually on the right track. Okay, so that's it for today's very interesting topic.
I know that today's topic is not really the most relevant situation
in terms of like the careers live stream,
but I thought that given that I've been getting a lot of these questions on my DM,
I thought I'll just be sharing my personal experiences over here.
Now, having said that, a lot of my followers and a lot of my connections,
my LinkedIn family and all other social media are working in the 9-5 corporate world.
So what I would suggest is this.
If you still feel like you want to quit your job,
you're still feeling very lost, very frustrated and so forth,
I would recommend that you check out my free training,
www.growyourcorporatecareer.com,
where I actually walk you through the six steps career planning that may give you a lot more
clarity on your situation right now instead of feeling lost and stuck. So in this training,
when I go through the six step career planning strategy, step one actually is all about career
interest and direction. So I think that actually is going to be super duper helpful for you. If you are feeling really lost right now, that's
motivating you to want to quit your job. So hold on, find some clarity first, you get a sense of
like really understanding why you want to quit. And that's something I covered in a lot more detail
in this training. So you can just go to www.growacorporeacareer.com and watch it. And
hopefully it gives you a bit more perspective on your current situation.
So for those of you who are asking me,
do I teach a course to upskill for business?
No, I don't teach a course to upskill for business.
But what I teach in my course,
which is The Corporate Survivor,
at www.thecorporatesurvivor.co,
I do go through the core skills for career success
that not just applies in the
corporate world but also applies to the business world such as the communication process how do you
listen how do you express yourself clearly how do you be productive how do you manage your energy
how do you manage your emails how do you run effective meetings all these things are still
really really important if you want to run a side hustle. But I will say this, this course is not exactly designed
for business owners or side hustlers.
But I will say that I do have some students,
I do have a few students who have intentions to run a side hustle.
And the reason why they sign up for the course is
they want to learn how to become more efficient and effective
and they want to learn how to communicate better
by learning how to deal with different people. So those are big components that are taught in the course but
just be aware that you know if you are coming from a completely business mindset and you want
to maximize the course there will be certain lessons that may not be as relevant although a
lot of the skill set lessons are truly relevant as well. However,
if you are the person who is trying to escape because you are not doing well at work and you
don't know why, and I will tell you that likely you probably have a skills gap. So if you are in
that sort of situation, I actually highly suggest you check it out because I actually go through
the three-step framework to help you get clear on the corporate world, learn how to deal with people,
assess your skills gap, build up your core corporate skills,
communication, critical thinking, building relationships,
productivity, organization,
all these things. And then the final part is
learning how to get recognized for
your work so that you don't feel as frustrated.
So, that's that.
Hopefully you enjoyed today's
live stream and hope to see you in tomorrow's
live stream where we're going to talk about a lot more
interesting career topics. And till then, have a good have a good day bye bye all the best in your career
