Starting point is 00:00:25 Let's jump into this podcast. Hello, everybody. It's time for Cows and Cren-Dogs. This is Cren-Dog in the morning. In the morning. Broadcasting live, live, live, live, live. In 4-hour recording studio. Recorded.
Starting point is 00:00:46 Wake your ass up. It's the Kaxi Granddad in the morning. Kaxi, Kaxi, Kaxi, Kaxi. Granddad in the morning. Hello, everybody. Welcome to another episode of Kaxi Granddad in the morning. Yes. Was that a stretch or was that just like a...
Starting point is 00:01:04 It was a bit of both honestly First I mean You know we had a week off here They gave us one week off I'm so proud of us One whole week So I mean it's pretty good I used it to get my old boosty shot
Starting point is 00:01:19 How'd that go Well I felt kind of achy right after it and then i felt muscle aches and achy and then i got tired and then the next day i thought i was getting better but then i had more muscle aches and fatigue and then the next day i was better i don't think i've mentioned this to anyone before this is the first this is an exclusive cox and creor, the world premiere. After I got my booster, I felt nothing. Everything was fine. Right.
Starting point is 00:01:47 But my left shoulder, where they shot me and injected me, still to this day, and that was beginning of November, still to this day, kind of like if I stretch it wrong, kind of has like a like, ooh, you just got pricked with the needle. I mean, I have that, but I'm on day four or five or whatever yeah i don't that's what i'm saying i feel like that's probably a side effect of some sort that i should look up but it like doesn't interfere with me but if i if i find myself sleeping sort of uh on my stomach for example and i move my hand up uh then it starts to hurt. But, like, the rest of the day, it's fine. Well, you're not supposed to sleep on your stomach anyway. Well, you know what?
Starting point is 00:02:33 Sometimes I do. Sometimes, like, I sleep all different directions. Sleep on my stomach, on my back, on my side. I sleep everywhere. I have no... Sometimes I'll do, like, that half, when, like, you're half on your side, half on your stomach, and you're, like, one hand's up on your head kind of thing, and you're half on your side half on your stomach and you're like one hands up on your head kind of thing and you're laying on your pillow i got a
Starting point is 00:02:48 whole bunch of positions oh my god speaking of which i've had so i like sleep with my my heart burden pillow so it like props you up a bit so you don't get the gird all right sure and the problem is that like sometimes i'll just through the night just slide down it. So by the end of it, I'm just like sleeping with my head like tilted on that pillow. So it's like I'm just. That's probably not a good. That's probably not good for you. No, it's been giving me neck pain.
Starting point is 00:03:15 Now I got neck pain. So I have to like be like, all right, well, I guess I don't want heartburn. But now I have neck pain. So I have to go back to having heartburn. So I could have neck pain or have no neck pain. So it's like, I can't win. I don't know what it is. I don't have any heartburn issues or anything like that. But if I have pizza, then I'm done. And I think it's entirely, and it's, I've never, I don't have any, I guess I don't need a lot of greasy food. Like I'm not a big grease monger. Like I don't like a lot
Starting point is 00:03:43 of deep fried foods and stuff like that. But maybe it would happen if I had more evidence. But for some reason, only pizza, Harper and city. But I realized only pepperoni. So it's clearly the fatty goo from the pepperoni. Yeah. It's giving me like at night I'll be like, Oh, Jesse. And I don't know why
Starting point is 00:04:05 But if it's cheese pizza I'm fine Am I old now? Could I not enjoy the simple taste of a pepperoni? Yes now you're old like me This sucks Yep sometimes that's why people be like I'll get the pepperoni and the sausage
Starting point is 00:04:21 I'm like whoa that's heartburn city I can't go there It's a good thing cheese pizza is still good But like sometimes you want that pepperoni and the sausage, I'm like, whoa, that's heartburn city. I can't go there. It's a good thing cheese pizza is still good, but sometimes you want that pepperoni on there. And I've always been a person who dabs the top of their pizza. Yeah, I do that now. You've got to get that extra. But sometimes you just want to eat your damn pizza and not have to worry. And it's like, no.
Starting point is 00:04:43 Oh, is it after six? Did you eat a slice of pizza? You're ruined. it's like no oh you would eat is it after six did you eat a slice of pizza you're ruined it's like okay cool thanks that's what happened i remember my dad used to dab his pizza with the napkins and i'd be like whatever and then now i have to do it i'm just like i get that grease off or this is gonna be bad why do you like that's not fair that's not fair i can't even enjoy stuff. The worst part is my parents are like, so we buy you some sugar-free candy from this place that does sugar. And we do this other thing that's sugar-free. And your dad and I loved it.
Starting point is 00:05:17 And the more I see what they eat, the more I'm like, this is it. This is what's. You know what? I'm glad I got all the delicious stuff out of the way. I'm glad I managed to get all the good food out of the way. So now as I slowly push into being old, I can be like, I ate lots of broccoli today. So, you know, I feel good about myself, I guess. I don't know why I sound like an old woman there, but you know.
Starting point is 00:05:41 I ate my broccoli. I love my broccoli. They call it broccolini. I mean, isn't broccolini a different thing? It is. That's what I thought. That was my old grandma and me discovering broccolini for the first time. Oh, I see. And telling her grandkids who are like, cool.
Starting point is 00:05:59 I see. I mean, you know, broccolini is pretty good. Here's the thing. I love broccoli. I like broccoli. I like broccolini is pretty good. I like, here's the thing. I love broccoli. I like broccoli. I like broccoli. Not cauliflower. I like all that.
Starting point is 00:06:08 Yeah. I don't like when they try to make rice out of it. That's garbage. Oh yeah. No, I don't like that either. I do like, uh, there's like a, what do you call it? It's like a cauliflower and cheese thing. It's at the, I got the grocery store.
Starting point is 00:06:23 It's from a tattooed chef and it's like cauliflower Mac and cheese, but It's at the grocery store. It's from Tattooed Chef. And it's like cauliflower mac and cheese. But it's really just cauliflower with cheese on it. And I like that sometimes. I mean, that's, yeah. Cauliflower with anything, that's delicious. And I actually like that a lot. It's like, you get, it almost tastes like the mac and cheese.
Starting point is 00:06:40 So I get why they do it. But like, you know, if you got cheese, you got cauliflower. So you're having a good time. Except, you know, it's kind do it but like you know if you got cheese you got cauliflowers you're having a good time except you know it's kind of it's gassy you know they have a uh i'm a shout out to bird's eye they have a uh like one of those microwavable bags of macaroni and cheese except it's the noodles are made from zucchini i think here's the thing it's the best one out there it literally is just mac and cheese and i put hot sauce on it it's delicious huh delicious huh i mean this sounds pretty good i can't hot sauce get a little crazy though i don't know if i love i love hot i have this one i here's the best hot sauce i'm gonna put this out there boy this is just a shill of an episode uh aardvark sauce look at a bark sauce yeah it's the best hot sauce period period
Starting point is 00:07:28 with a t at the end aardvark sauce oh yeah aardvark sauce you gotta get some of that it is like the right kind of spice plus it is delicious it actually has a flavor to it oh look at that. He's got his, like, nose dipping in the bottle, and he's like. Yeah, it's the best one. I've tried many a hot sauce. Aardvark is the best. I mean, even though that's going to give me some heartburn, I might try it still.
Starting point is 00:07:58 Just to try it. It will. I mean, it's hot. It's definitely hot, but it has, like, it doesn't taste just like. You know how most hot sauces have that sour, like, ooh, it's extra, because you have to balance it with vinegar or whatever? This does not have that. It tastes delicious.
Starting point is 00:08:13 It really is very, very good. I can't stress it enough. Aardvark sauce. Get it today. All right, aardvark sauce. I never thought I'd be checking out aardvark sauce. You know what? I never thought I'd be advertising out aardvark sauce. You know what? I never thought I'd be advertising it to you.
Starting point is 00:08:27 Here we are. My neck hurts. I'm sleeping now. You know, you got the heartburn, so it's just the back and forth balance. I had to sleep without that pillow back during the, what do you call it? We did our live show because that's
Starting point is 00:08:44 when I strained my neck. So I couldn't sleep like that because then it hurt my neck to just sleep on that thing. So I was like, all right, well, I had to sleep without it for that thing. So now I have to go back to sleeping like that. I don't get back or neck pain, but I do get every once in a while like my foot. This has happened three or four times in my life where like the bottom, the sole of my foot, the muscle will tense up and i don't know how to untense that muscle and it makes walking it i it like it feels like i need
Starting point is 00:09:10 a cane huh and every and every time that it's happened it's happened when i've woken up in the morning so clearly at some point in the night i did something where when i woke up i was like why can't i walk now oh it sucks it it sucks. It's an unbearable pain. And so even though I don't have neck back, I can sympathize. Yeah. No, it's, I feel like when people get old and they're like, my back, my neck, all that nice to be like, whatever, you know, I can sit however I want. And then it starts hitting. And then you're like, this is, you got to start changing it now.
Starting point is 00:09:42 Because otherwise you're going to get down the line. Boom. That's even harder to change. Are we like a warning? Are we the canary in the coal mine for our listeners? Like, listen to us, everyone, you tweens. How many tweens are listening? Listen to us, tweens.
Starting point is 00:09:58 Absolutely zero. Ignore everything that you feel and prepare for the worst. I think most of the people listening were like back when they started watching us like 10 years ago or whatever they were like maybe 15 then now they're like 25 or they were like 25 then now they're 35 or uh you know maybe 45 probably more in that range here's how you know when we're officially old when we have an actual real radio show when someone hires us on to be like the morning drive time crew man i'm down for that that'd be fun yeah that'd be great if anyone wants to just like give us a call let us know we'll go to we'll be on any market where do you want us to be on
Starting point is 00:10:42 tallahassee five we're on we're on it well want us to be on? Tallahassee 5? We're on it. Good morning, Tallahassee. Tallahassee 5. Tallahassee 5 sounds like a thing, but it's definitely not a thing. Tallahassee 5. It sounds like the name of an action slash heist movie. Oh, yeah. Someone's trying to steal a famous painting from Tallahassee. You know, they call him the Leonardo of Tallahassee.
Starting point is 00:11:15 I thought it was going to be like Ocean's Eleven, the Tallahassee Five. Yeah, that's it. They got to steal the most famous artwork of Tallahassee. They call him the Banksy of Tallahassee. You know, I'd watch that movie. I might not watch it again after watching it one time, but I'd watch it once. You know who needs to be in this movie? Adam Driver in a southern accent.
Starting point is 00:11:40 Yeah. Who's James Bond? That guy. Pierce Brosnan? No, no, no. The new James Bond. Not the one that we watched when we were kids the new one the original oh shit that's so funny to me is like if you were talking to our parents like you know james bond they'd be like oh sean connor we're like no james bond and you're like oh pier Brosnan I'm like no current James Bond I could do that with Spider-Man yeah yeah yeah
Starting point is 00:12:09 oh Tobey Maguire no Spider-Man oh Andrew Garfield no Spider-Man it is weird to think about like the character just keeps getting new actors you're just like what the generations just shift that's so funny again goes back to my favorite story is being a teacher in school and trying to describe
Starting point is 00:12:28 stormtroopers to my students. We were talking about World War II. And I was like, you know, like in Star Wars. And they were like, Mr. Cox, those are called clone troopers. And I was like, oh, my God. Oh, no. I am. I Thanos snapped right then.
Starting point is 00:12:42 I was like, oh, it's like the 70s and 80s didn't exist for you. Mama Mia, dude. Mama Mia. I mean, well, I was only 80 in the 80s for a little bit. So yeah, you're like kind of in the 80s. Yeah. Yeah. I was.
Starting point is 00:12:58 God, what would I have been? Eight or nine when you were born? Mama Mia. I had a good run before you existed. And then you come along ruining everything. I took the 80s with me. The 80s were great, you monster. Actually, the 80s were not great.
Starting point is 00:13:14 I remember in, oh man, we lived in Dayton, Ohio. And Dayton, for being a lovely community, the area we lived in was very, like, I'm going to say wealthy but not. It was a weird area. We had a road that if you were on one side of the road, you were, like, barely making it. If you were on the other side of the road, you had mansions. And we all went to the same school together. That's like the Ohio Beverly Hills. Kind of. Yeah. A lot of people would say Oakwood. It's like the Ohio Beverly Hills. Kind of.
Starting point is 00:13:45 Yeah. A lot of people would say Oakwood is kind of like the Dayton Beverly Hills for sure. We had a, it was whatever year. God, I must have been. How old was I? I have this memory and I can't remember how old I was, but this was like, I was in a car going to daycare. And I was in the car with a bunch of kids and they were all from like the rich side of town. It was the 1988 election.
Starting point is 00:14:09 This is one of my earliest memories. This says a lot. I have two memories I remember from being a little kid. Actually, three. One is this memory. Another is being forced to watch Jaws by a babysitter and being terrified of sharks ever since. I was into sharks before I watched Jaws and then I was like, oh no. other is being forced to watch jaws by a babysitter and being terrified of sharks ever since i was into sharks before i watched jaws and then i was like oh no um and then uh i remember my dad because
Starting point is 00:14:31 he also tells the story all the time because he thinks it's hilarious but my my friend and his sister and i used to ride our bikes when i lived in virginia all over the place like you know i was a bike rider i would ride for miles and miles. And we one time found a big puddle of muddle. Muddle? That's right. A big puddle of muddle. It was a puddle of mud. We had a big muddle puddle and it was...
Starting point is 00:14:55 I can see. It was like on a construction site almost. And we started, we jumped in the puddle of mud. We were covered in mud. And my dad like came to get us. And he was like, you guys could have been killed in there. Who knows what was in there? But he got like a twig and started like whapping us on the butt,
Starting point is 00:15:11 trying to make us go home like we were cattle. And he tells that story all the time. Those are the only memories I have. And then this one, which is I was in the back of this car. And at the time, all the kids, again, these are kids who were like i don't know the same age as me seven six eight something like that and they were all roasting me because my parents voted for michael dukakis and their parents voted for george w bush and how i was a loser because my family didn't like george w bush or george herbert walker bush the dad and i'll never forget that because i was like this is the weirdest you're a kid why do you they're like you're stupid because you voted for
Starting point is 00:15:50 a loser i'm like what the yeah so i'll never forget that that was a weird conversation i was like oh all right then cool yeah we definitely grew up in it was ohio and so there was a lot of like i'm not gonna call everyone full racist but it was it was it wasn't until i moved to new york was i like oh the world is a lot different than ohio i think that's also a very like small town thing too where it's like all those shows yes absolutely and And I'm thankful I don't live there anymore. How did we get on this topic? I don't remember either, honestly. Speaking of way off topic. Okay.
Starting point is 00:16:34 It's a to watch. Oh. Go on Netflix. Okay. And watch Silent Sea. Silent Sea. Yes. Silent Sea.
Starting point is 00:16:42 Silent Sea. Silent Sea. Yes. It is a Korean mystery slash sci-fi series that is like such a slow burn, but the camera angles and the way they film it is so creepy. It's so good. Basically, let me see if I can sum up the insane premise of this show. In the future, there's not enough water. Like, all the water's drying up, and water's being rationed, and everyone has, like, cards that distinguish how much water they can receive.
Starting point is 00:17:16 And obviously, the more important people to society get more water, that kind of thing. Yeah. thing yeah and so uh this girl discovers that you know her sister was on the moon for some reason and like her whole dream was to go to the moon and she gets a message from her sister and the sister is like hey uh something's up on the moon whoops and now i'm missing you know like that kind of thing oh yeah and so uh she accepts a mission to go to the moon in order to find her sister, right? Because there's a space base on the moon. But everyone on that space base has died. Everyone died.
Starting point is 00:17:56 And so she thinks her sister's dead, but she's going to try and find out what killed her. They're told it was radiation. And a crew is formed because there are these weird samples up on the moon that they need to bring back to Earth. It's very important that even though the crew up on that space station is all dead, they need to go up there and get whatever is up there and bring it back to Earth. And of course, they are told very little, which already you're like, what the hell is that?
Starting point is 00:18:22 What is this about? you're like what the hell is that what is this about and so they go up to the space station and uh i will simply say that it is such a slow simmer and slow burn that like you're tense like oh my god what is about to happen and then when stuff starts going down like i can't even it's called silent sea i can't even begin to stress to you how insane the show is. I love every minute of it. I am like, this is such good. And so there's one, if I had to make a video about why I love this, there's one shot in particular where like the main character is walking on the, all the like the military guys are with her and like the doctor who, by the way, I think I have the hots for the doctor lady. She is like sassy mom energy and i'm in i'm in it um but they you know they're walking down the hall go they finally get into the base they're walking down the hall the power's like you know fluctuating
Starting point is 00:19:16 and stuff and as they walk down the hall she sees this stairwell down it's pitch black and she turns and stares at it and the camera is now down at the bottom of stairwell down. It's pitch black. And she turns and stares at it. And the camera is now down at the bottom of the stairwell looking up at her through the blackness. And she just keeps staring at it and staring at it. And it's like creepy and the music's weird. It's like, what is down there? What the hell is down there? And then, like, you know, a guy turns around and is like, are you okay?
Starting point is 00:19:39 And, you know, it's like one of those jarring, like, ooh. Like, are you okay? And she's like, yeah, I'm fine. Turns and walks away. But then the camera down at the bottom of the stairwell again is still facing up. And then it like moves behind the wall like, was there someone down there watching her? Like that kind of shit. Like that editing.
Starting point is 00:19:54 I'm like, oh, it's so good. It's great. I love the way they shoot this show. It's so good. I haven't. I'm two. I think I'm two episodes from the end. I haven't finished it. I think I'm two episodes from the end I haven't finished it but I highly
Starting point is 00:20:07 recommend it it says it's season one of a TV show but I hope they don't if this ends up being like there's eight seasons I'm gonna be real upset because it seems like a really great one and done kind of story yeah that's one thing I've noticed a lot of people are like oh they might have that second season I'm like can't we just have more things that are just like one and done? You know? I guess they want to make more money off it, but it's like, it's fine if it's just a one and done thing. I feel like we would have learned our lesson from things like Lost, where you can see Lost being like a great two or three season show,
Starting point is 00:20:37 but the fact that they tried to make it six is insane. Yeah. And you're like, oh, this would have been like a great show that went on for three years, and it had an ending, and it was all planned out oh, this would have been like a great show that went on for three years and it had an ending and it was all planned out and that would have been great. But instead, people were like, no, no, there was a tail section of the plane and those people live too. And now there's other people on the island and they live there too. You know, like that.
Starting point is 00:20:56 It's insane. I did that with that one show. What was it? Dexter. I watched one season of Dexter and then they're like, they have more. And I was like, no, I think I'm pretty good. That one season, I'm happy. I just never watched it again.
Starting point is 00:21:11 There's a lot of TV where I'm the exact same way. I'm like, you know what? I watched a little bit of that and that was fun. I think I'm done. I think I'm good with that. That's, you know, some things you can just tell they're trying to make money and some well even some they don't i don't think they're trying to make money they're just like we
Starting point is 00:21:32 can make it better and then they don't very rarely do they make something better oh god that is so sad that that's true that sucks i was just thinking about that with the new Ghostbuster movies. Oh, yeah. Have you seen the new one? The newest Ghostbuster movie? I haven't seen it, but I heard it was bad. It's like fine, but it's very obvious that I don't think anyone who's making these movies understands what made the first Ghostbusters movie a success. I'm not even that big of a fan of Ghostbusters 2.
Starting point is 00:22:05 Yeah. I feel like the first movie, people just couldn't figure out what made it a success. They kept trying to emulate aspects of that movie without capturing all of it. You know.
Starting point is 00:22:16 Yeah. I was trying to think of other shows like that. I can't. I'm sure there's a bunch. Whenever I get on the spot, I'm like, all right, let's think of things. Then you can't think of anything.'s a bunch i was just whenever i get on the spot i'm like all right let's think of things and then you can't think of anything it's like when people are like uh just
Starting point is 00:22:29 uh be funny and you're like ah well that's that's uh the perfect example of that is when i that stuff i film with jeff goldblum he starts launching questions at me and i'm like i don't what you put me on the spot he's like asking me like, do you know this TV show host from 1950? Like, maybe if you gave me like a few minutes to think, here I am, like on the spot trying to like figure out what the hell you're talking about. Yeah. Oh, yeah. No, that's crazy stuff. That happens to me all the time, too.
Starting point is 00:22:56 I'm always like, I don't know. I couldn't be on Who Wants to Be a Millionaire. I would lose immediately. Oh, yeah. I would second guess everything. I'd be like, I don't know. Yeah. I played that Who Wants to Be a millionaire i would lose immediately oh yeah i would guess everything i'd be like i don't know yeah i i played that who wants to be a millionaire game and i could barely even win it was uh it was rough yeah things i think i'm positive about i'd be like uh uh phone a friend i don't know how they like decide to phone their friend like i don't know If there's somebody I would phone with some of these questions
Starting point is 00:23:27 Like I don't got like somebody who's like a super jeopardy friend Now I'd just be Standing by like Alright what is the question And then you'd ask me the question and I'd literally just google it for you Oh yeah Like yeah no the answer According to Wikipedia the answer is
Starting point is 00:23:43 Yeah now you couldn't even phone a friend because they could just do that. Is Who Wants to Be a Millionaire still going? You know what? I'm going to say yes because the other day I saw that Jerry Springer still had a TV show and that blew my mind. So anything's possible. Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? Oh, wait.
Starting point is 00:24:04 It is still going. There you go. See? What? Is it hosted by Meredith Vieira? No, it's hosted by Jimmy Kimmel. What? That's what I'm saying.
Starting point is 00:24:17 Jimmy Kimmel be doing too much. I never liked Jimmy Kimmel after he was like, Gamers, what are they doing on the Internet with video games? Nobody watches that. That's dumb. Even though he watches sports. I literally would be like the same thing that you were doing when you made the man show. And it was a show about nothing except being like women are dumb.
Starting point is 00:24:37 They're just creating to create things. Let's calm down, Jimmy. Yeah, I like Jimmy Kimmel. Big idiot. Regis Philbin was the best one. I down, Jimmy. Yeah, I don't like Jimmy Kimmel. Big idiot. Regis Philbin was the best one. I mean, yeah. Regis was the OG best. Always will be.
Starting point is 00:24:52 Even when Regis was on, not Regis. When it was Regis and Kathie Lee. I don't know how many people out there remember Regis. Regis and Kathie Lee. Kathie Lee. That lady can drink. Bless her sweet say. I like that she can drink she's like
Starting point is 00:25:06 having my 12th glass of wine today i'm like hell yeah you are get it yeah and then then she went on to do something else she left and then came back with it was her and hoda and they would get wasted on tv and that was great if you ever see clips of them they're like it's wine o'clock somewhere i I'm like, hell yeah, it is, ladies. And then Kelly, Kelly Ripa, who was like a daytime star. Why do I know so much about this? Kelly Ripa was a daytime star.
Starting point is 00:25:33 Daytime television. But only specifically the Regis Philbin show, where it's Regis plus extra person. Yeah. And then it became like Kelly and other people Yeah, then it became Kelly And like a wide range of other people
Starting point is 00:25:49 And then it became Kelly and what's his face The football player Yeah, yeah, yeah Which again Once it branches into sports, I got you What's crazy is that like I feel like after a while they stopped caring about Naming conventions
Starting point is 00:26:04 Because it became Regis and Kathy Lee Regis and Kelly there's a flow there then it became Kelly and like Strahan that sucks Kelly and Michael yeah maybe it was Kelly and Michael that's right yeah but even that's not even that's not great yeah there of Kathy Lee has like a flow to it. Yeah. It's, you know, the writers probably didn't even care at that point. It's like, ah, whatever. Yeah, it was like the 12th season.
Starting point is 00:26:33 They didn't care anymore. Is that show still going? It has to be, right? Let's see. Kelly Ripa. She's 51 years old now. It has to be, right? Let's see. Kelly Ripa. She's 51 years old now. And there she is at San Diego Comic-Con.
Starting point is 00:26:55 Why is she at San Diego Comic-Con? Okay, she was on All My Children in the 90s. I remember that one. That's the one my grandma used to watch all the time, and then I'd be home sick. Oh, Strahan moved to Good Morning America. Oh, I see. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. So what does she do?
Starting point is 00:27:17 Kelly Ripon, Ryan Seacrest. It looks like she just does movies or something now, or TV shows. She doesn't do anything now. Oh, wait, no. She still is doing it. says february 2001 to present it's live with kelly and ryan oh it's ryan seacrest yeah which here's the thing ryan seacrest is fine he's a he's a sweet sweetheart he does everything but ryan seacrest to me is like the opposite side of the coin of the rock if you want
Starting point is 00:27:47 something to like have a kickstart at new life add the rock if you know something's going downhill and you're like f it we got to keep this thing going as long as we can add ryan seacrest same coin different purposes Different purposes. Yeah, it's... I just love looking at this timeline. It's like history of the show. It was called The Morning Show from 83 to 88. Then Live with Regis and Kathy Lee from 88 to 2000. Then it was Live with Regis for a year. Then it was Live with Regis and Kelly from 2001 to 2011.
Starting point is 00:28:23 Then it was Live with Kelly, and Kelly from 2001 to 2011. Then it was live with Kelly, first era for a year. Then it was live with Kelly and Michael for four years. Then it was live with Kelly's second era for a year. And then live with Kelly and Ryan, 2017 to present. I don't like that they're saying it's eras. You know what I mean? That's what I'm saying. I don't like that.
Starting point is 00:28:42 That's weird. The first era. Then the second era of Live with Kelly. But it's like one year, right? It's like the one year era. That's dumb. It's like imagine if we started swapping one of us out. Oh, that's the Crendor era.
Starting point is 00:28:59 Yeah, the Crendor era, the Cox era, where you're just alone. Doing nothing. What a sad podcast that would be. I'd be like, today at the news, I guess some stuff happened. What do you think, me? I thought that was pretty good, Jesse. I've already done my show where I was alone. It's like, hey, what's going on, everybody?
Starting point is 00:29:24 Yeah, we got stuff. Yeah. All right. Excited about this. Hell yeah. Got those Olympics coming up. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:29:37 Yeah. They're coming up all right. There's some people that like, they're just really good at doing like solo podcasting. Like Bill Burr is one of them I'll listen to. But he's like a comedian. So like he'll just ramble and rant. Yeah, his whole thing is stand up and ranting. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:29:52 So like some people are just good at it. Some people, you know, it's better you got someone to feed off of. Right? You gotta feed off of people. You gotta feed. Yeah, we're like, some people are like great whites. Some people, we're like those little fish that cling on to the side of the great white and munch on him. We're like, oh, we munching on you, great white.
Starting point is 00:30:12 Yum, yum. It's like, you know, what was that comedian? Like Penn and Teller, right? If you got just Penn and just Teller, it's like, whatever. But you got Penn and Teller, it's like, whoa. That's a great duo. Yeah. Yeah. Even though Penn Jillette tries to do stuff on his own
Starting point is 00:30:30 all the time. Yeah, but like, nobody cares. Yeah, no one's here for that. We want Teller, Penn. We want Teller. Yeah, we want Teller. He makes the goofy faces while you tell the story. That's, uh... What's that? My dad always brings up one of those old timey ones
Starting point is 00:30:46 He's like Abbott and Costello Look Abbott and Costello You wouldn't want just one You want both What are other famous duos Cox and Crondor No that's just us It's like Tom and Jerry
Starting point is 00:31:03 You know You got just one of them. That's no fun. Tom and Jerry is the one who wins. I don't know. Other famous duos, Tom and Jerry. Beavis and Butthead. That's probably more accurate.
Starting point is 00:31:19 If there was ever a duo that was more like us, it's Beavis and Butthead. Yeah. That's true. That's true. That's true. You ought to have both. Here's the question. Are you Beavis or Butthead? I think I do the, whichever one is like, Beavis.
Starting point is 00:31:37 All right. So you're Butthead, not Beavis? Yeah, I'm Butthead. Give me TP for my bunghole. Yeah. Yeah. We suck so bad Yeah it's pretty bad So yeah we got ads

Starting point is 00:37:16 Back to you I only see people talking about Wordle And I want to let you know it's made me Hate Wordle I don't even know Wordle I don't even know Wordle I don't even know Wordle. I don't even know Wordle. I don't even know that game. And I'm like, I hate it. I'm not a fan. I didn't either. It's literally just like one of those
Starting point is 00:37:32 games where you just guess words. And then it tells you like, this is in the word, but it's not in this spot or space or whatever. And that's like if it's, that's if it's yellow. It means it's in the word, but it's not in that position. And then if it's green, that means you've guessed correctly where the right letter is for that word.
Starting point is 00:37:50 There's a new word every day. I hate it. Not a fan. I don't know something about it. I think because it's popular. I hate it. Am I a hipster? You might be a hipster.
Starting point is 00:37:59 All right. You're like an old hipster. An old hipster? Come on. I'm not an old, I'm not old. I mean, yeah. Nah, you're pretty old. Get the fuck out of here.
Starting point is 00:38:16 It's traffic. All right. Let's go to weather. Weather. Time. You know, I haven't like inputted a random zip code in a while. I'm going to do that. Okay.
Starting point is 00:38:30 I can't wait for this to come up with nothing. Let's go. Four, four, eight, five, three. New Regal, Ohio. Hey, there you go. Look at that. We were just talking about Ohio, and now we hit up the old new old Regal. I'm going to hazard a guess.
Starting point is 00:38:51 Yep. There is nothing new or Regal about New Regal, Ohio. I'd probably take you up on that. I'm going to go there right now. We're going to look up New Regal, and I want to be proven correctly. Actually, yeah. Where is this on the map? It is...
Starting point is 00:39:07 Oh, it's also spelled... It looks like New Rigel. Oh, maybe it's New Rigel then. New Rigel looks like... Isn't that the name of a Star Trek planet? Oh, no. I didn't watch a lot of Star Trek. Well, you missed out on Rigel, the pleasure planet.
Starting point is 00:39:24 I don't think there's a lot of pleasure in New Regal, Ohio, though. I highly doubt it. 24 degrees. Clear skies. Going to get down to 14 degrees tonight. Feels like 11 with a 56% humidity pressure, 30.42 inches, 10-mile visibility, 16-mile-an-hour winds with a dew point of 10, UV index 0, and a first quarter moon. Hourly forecast, you got 24, 23, 22, 21, 19.
Starting point is 00:39:53 Just keeps dropping the degree every hour. But over on the 10 day. 21 degrees Monday, partly cloudy. Tuesday, sunny, but 27. Wednesday, going up to 41. Heat wave, partly cloudy. Tuesday, sunny but 27. Wednesday, going up to 41. Heat wave, mostly cloudy. Thursday, 36. Friday, 35.
Starting point is 00:40:11 Saturday, 30 with snow showers. Sunday, partly cloudy. Monday, cloudy. And then pretty much just cloudy and around 30 degrees from there on out. But, you know, once you get around 10 days, nobody knows what's going to happen. Sometimes weather gets all wonky. I think they can only predict a couple days in advance. Like 3-4 days, typically.
Starting point is 00:40:34 Yes. I went to the map of New Regal. This, it literally is a two-road town. It is. There is one road going in this it literally is a two road town it is there is one road going in and it makes like an x now maybe there's a three it's a three road town but in this town in the town center is the perry street market one bank a place called sunny jacks bar a place called the new
Starting point is 00:41:07 rigel cafe which here's the thing looks very busy shout out to them right there's a post office and then a one tax service an american legion the loyal order of moose and then a place called new regal elevator, which I thought, oh, they have an elevator place. So maybe no, it's a grain elevator. Then the only other places in this town are three churches all side by side and then a school across from the church. That's it, that's the town.
Starting point is 00:41:40 This is the most Midwestern shit I've ever seen. Oh my God. What else is nearby've ever seen. Oh, my God. What else is nearby? A graveyard. Yeah, that sounds about right. Yeah, that does sound about right. What other city is nearby? Tiffin?
Starting point is 00:41:58 Fustoria? Finley? What the hell? Oh, wow. They're in the literal middle of nowhere. Whoa. Wow. Literally, this is...
Starting point is 00:42:12 Wow. That's impressive. That is a small, small town. I just scrolled out from there and was like, what's it close to? Cleveland? No. Toledo? No. Toledo? No.
Starting point is 00:42:27 Columbus? It's like in the middle of all of these major towns. And it's like just this little hamlet along the 587. If you're going from Upper Sandusky and you're traveling towards Tiffin or Fostoria, you got to make a stop off a new rigel oh my god that sounds yeah i sometimes forget like when you i forget there's like countryside sometimes living in la it's all city all the time and i'm like yeah, I forget that some places just don't have buildings. That's my thing.
Starting point is 00:43:10 It's like, I don't like places with, like, nothing. Like, super country. But I don't like city cities either because it's just constant building. You don't get any nature. You know? I don't like any of either of the extremes. You like being able to go towards a city if you need to. Yes.
Starting point is 00:43:24 But you're outside the city. Yes. This is like towards the city if you need to but yes you're outside the city yes this is like outside the city this is wow this is very far out is there any what's going on in tiffin they got a they got a lee's famous recipe chicken oh the pioneer mill of tiffin. Tiffin Brewery. They got Golden Crown. Looks like a cafe. I mean, there's things happening in Tiffin at least. That seems like a place to hang out. That's the weather. Okay, let's go to sports.
Starting point is 00:43:57 Sports. We've got crazy sports stuff happening. I'm going to tell you right now. Crazy sports stuff. First up, NFL football. Final day of the regular season. Got crazy sports stuff happening. I'm going to tell you right now. Crazy sports stuff. First up, NFL football. Final day of the regular season. Playoff implications. Playoff games.
Starting point is 00:44:14 Playoffs. Playoffs. Playoff games being decided. Chiefs beat the Broncos. Cowboys beat the Eagles. Washington beat the Giants. Browns beat the Bengals. Steelboys beat the Eagles. Washington beat the Giants. Browns beat the Bengals. Steelers beat the Ravens in overtime.
Starting point is 00:44:30 Lions beat the Packers. Jaguars beat the Colts. Vikings beat the Bears. Titans beat the Texans. Saints beat the Falcons. Seahawks beat the Cardinals. Bills beat the Jets. Bucks beat the Panthers.
Starting point is 00:44:41 Dolphins beat the Patriots. 49ers beat the Rams in overtime. And got one game left which is Chargers Raiders Winner gets into the playoffs Loser I don't believe makes the playoffs So that's a pretty big game And if they tie they both make the playoffs So there was a big thing on if they just like
Starting point is 00:44:57 Both knelt the ball down like 15 times And ended the game with a tie And they were like that will not happen But it would be pretty funny uh unless you're a Steelers fan because you need them to not try to make the playoff but if they don't tie then the Steelers are in the playoffs that's never happening this is it'll be a tie there'll there'll be a way in which the Steelers can get screwed I'm sure well they have to play the Chiefs round one,
Starting point is 00:45:29 which is a really bad matchup because the Chiefs are good if they make it in. So then we had NBA standings. In the West, we got the Suns at the top, Warriors right behind them. Then you got the Jazz, the Grizzlies, the Mavericks, the Lakers as the top six teams. Then in the East, you got the Bulls at the top. I've been loving watching Bulls games. It's been very fun. Nets, Heat, Bucks, 76ers, and Cavaliers in the top six.
Starting point is 00:45:57 Over in the NHL, you got the Panthers and the Lightning tied at the top with the Maple Leafs right behind. How are the Tampa Bay Lightning and the Florida Panthers just always at the top of the hockey standings? And the Montreal Canadiens are in last, and the Ottawa and Buffalo. All the teams that love hockey are just at the bottom, and Florida and Tampa Bay are at the top. I mean, we've talked about this before.
Starting point is 00:46:25 I don't know, but I feel like it has something to do with the players being like, or I could just live in the hot weather. Yeah. And then in the others, you've got the Carolina Hurricanes and the Rangers tied at the top. You've got the Nashville Predators at the top, the St. Louis Blues right behind. And you've got the Golden Knights at the top with the Ducks right behind.
Starting point is 00:46:48 And in terms of Olympics, I believe we're getting pretty close to the Olympics. Yeah, less than a month away. February 4th will be the start of the Winter Olympics. So that'll be interesting i still always relate the winter olympics to my gallbladder surgery because that's what i watched right after i got it out so fun times and now it's a tradition you get a gallbladder out every time there's a olympic exactly i can't wait to get it out again that's sports okay what is our weird factoid of the day weird factoid of the day day day day day um so we've got uh actually these two are
Starting point is 00:47:44 interesting so whoa these two are interesting. So, whoa, these three are, okay, we're going to read three of them, but not going to these three. Okay, how many are we trying to do? German chocolate cake doesn't come from Germany. It was named for a person, Sam German, who created a type of baking chocolate for bakers in 1852. Okay. Man's name was Sam German?
Starting point is 00:48:04 Sam German. Sam German. Unreal. Okay. name was Sam German? Sam German. Sam German. Unreal. Where was he from? New York. This says an American or Englishman. So there you go. Sam German? Definitely an American. It's me, Sam German. I'm from Germany, but I'm an American.
Starting point is 00:48:22 Hey there, it's me, Sam German. Imagine if he's not even German. He's just like Austrian or something close. I mean, that's, you know. I don't even know what you're talking about. I'm definitely from Germany.
Starting point is 00:48:39 Next one. Hawaiian pizza was created in Ontario, Canada by a Greek immigrant, Sam Panop sam panopolis well of course it was yep and almost all commercially grown artichokes 99.9 come from california one town in particular castroville is nicknamed the artichoke capital of the world i'm not like a big i feel like i should be but not like a big artichoke person see the thing is i like artichoke capital of the world i'm not like a big i feel like i should be but not like a big artichoke person see the thing is i like artichokes but i only like them when we go to
Starting point is 00:49:11 the ren fair that was got an artichoke thing you get it and then you dip it in the butter and you're like what is what is the whoa whoa whoa what is the artichoke thing that's like the little artichoke thing what does that mean what's the artichoke thing where you it's like the old it's like a blooming onion almost uh okay all right yeah then you like take a little piece of artichoke and then you dip it in the butter and you scrape it off with your like and then uh it's good i don't like that uh i don't like artichokes i think they're good i mean yeah i'm not a big artichoke fan but it's also because i haven't had a lot of artichokes I think they're good I mean yeah I'm not a big artichoke fan But it's also because I haven't had a lot of artichokes
Starting point is 00:49:48 And I haven't been inundated with chokes Yeah you probably just gotta eat some artichokes To really experience it I think they're good That's your facts of the day Alright what's our big news story of the day Big news story of the day I believe someone sent us this one
Starting point is 00:50:07 texas deputies arrest intoxicated driver for driving with lit barbecue pit now this guy's living right this is this is a this is a thing uh you know if you would have to guess you would have guessed texas where this happened i would have but i want to say florida uh well no this the thing literally says texas deputies arrest oh well maybe he was in florida but the texas deputies got him that's possible or maybe he was from Florida, but he was in Texas. All I know is I have questions about this story, but I'm not going to talk over you because I want to know the details. All right.
Starting point is 00:50:52 Here we go. Wait, whoops. I accidentally clicked back. Hold on, hold on. Okay, here we go. Harris County Sheriff's Office arrested a man after it was discovered he was driving under the influence with a lit barbecue pit in the bed of his truck, creating a large fire. Now, if this was if he wasn't under the influence, but still had the pit, would have been fine.
Starting point is 00:51:17 I'm going to guess no. OK. Deputies responded to the 21,400th block. Oh, my God. That's a lot of blocks. Of Aldine Westfield Road and referenced reports of a truck on fire on January 5th. People thought this guy's car was on fire. Get out of here.
Starting point is 00:51:39 Jay Rojas, 40, was identified as the driver and displayed signs of intoxication. Standardized field sobriety test was conducted in which he failed deputies discovered he was also in possession of cocaine oh well that's what did he jay rojas was arrested and booked in the harris county jail charged with driving while intoxicated and possession of a controlled substance his bond court info have not been set at this time and And, uh, well, there's a picture of him. Gotta see that one.
Starting point is 00:52:10 Did you send it to me? Where is this picture? Yo, my man! He looks like he's like, I was just trying to make barbecue. He definitely does. What are you guys, what are you doing? I was just trying to make barbecue. But he looks like he's been making it in his mind as well yeah well you have
Starting point is 00:52:29 to see the barbecue before you can eat the barbecue that is true be the barbecue you want to be yeah and that's that's all the details they give us i have so many like did he decide before at like was he he, you know, one of those things where if you're going to barbecue, you might as well drink a beer while you're barbecuing. Right. So did he decide to barbecue before or after he got drunk? And did the drugs show up before or after?
Starting point is 00:52:57 A lot of layers to this story. Also, how many times has he cooked in the back of that truck? Because clearly this can't be the first time. I mean, yeah, if he's done it once, he's probably done it before. I think maybe he got too drunk and that's why the fire got out of hand. But also, what kind of pit was he using? Did he like
Starting point is 00:53:15 have a grill in the back? And what kind of grill? Was he using charcoal or was he using gas? Yeah. These are all big questions. Plus, what was he cooking? These are huge, very important questions. Was he cooking anything? Yeah plus what was he cooking very important questions was he cooking anything yeah what was he cooking was it burgers was it a steak was making dogs was it nothing rats on there what was going on yeah maybe he wasn't cooking anything maybe he was taking it somewhere to start cooking yeah maybe he just it was cold
Starting point is 00:53:40 and so he lit the back of his truck on fire. Or maybe he was like Gondor calling for aid. I don't know. Yeah. Maybe he discovered the drugs. He didn't take the drugs. He discovered them, and he called for aid to fight off the drug dealers. Like, you don't know what was going on there. Nobody asked him any questions.
Starting point is 00:54:01 Nobody asked him any questions. He could be a hero. This is why they need us at the Tallahassee Five. We can ask the big time questions. We are two of the Tallahassee Five. You know what? The Tallahassee Five, the more you say it, the less it sounds like a cool gang of thieves and more like guys who are charged with armed robbery.
