Starting point is 00:00:00 Today's episode's brought you by Factor Factor's got those good meals delivered right to your home. Now let's jump to this podcast. Hello everybody. It's time for goes on Fred Dog. Let me sit, friend dog in the morning. In the morning. Broadcastle live, live, live, live, live. In four hour and 40 studio, recording. Record it.
Starting point is 00:00:25 Wake your ass up. It's up. Next, Brendan, in the morning. I don't even know if you just said words. I did. I thought I said it pretty well, to be honest. You might have, but it was like, there's a point where it was a string.
Starting point is 00:00:48 I think the cadence was different. That, yeah, I think you're right, the cadence threw me off. I did like a whole different. I had a pause where there wasn't supposed to be a pause. You know, three off. Yeah, and it's easy to throw me off. Well, exactly. And that's why I did it.
Starting point is 00:01:03 Yeah. But you know what isn't throwing off? Oh no. Yes. The 4th of July. Oh, did you do anything? Do you celebrate? We did. We always barbecue. Well, you know what? I guess it was kind of thrown off because it was raining here. But needed, right? Like, it's been pretty hot? Well, it's been hot, but I think it's humid. And it was like downpouring for like days, actually. We've got like thunderstorms.
Starting point is 00:01:27 In fact, I have a fun story about that as well. okay yes go on yeah we like barbecue it was whatever you know it was normal you know it was just it was raining outside but it is what it is uh so we went to a like uh like summertime fest thing one of those like hey you know we're gonna throw a summertime fest every would they like put up tents and shit have bands play is that kind of by the place you took me that one time or is this a different place uh it's a different place but Because that place seemed like the summertime, like that got to go over there and stop over at the summertime. They probably got summertime stuff too.
Starting point is 00:02:08 Like at this point, just pick a weekend. There's probably somebody doing summertime. Eat our food. Listen to music. Walk around. I also want to stress for the record that, uh, you said the word summertime and I just went with it. I'm not even sure I understand what that means. And I accepted it so easily.
Starting point is 00:02:28 You really did. Like, yeah, okay. It's just, you know, it's one of those things where the, in the summertime, every, every, like, suburban town and, like, city and pretty much if there's a place with people, they throw some sort of festival. Yeah, I bought it in a meeting. I was like, yeah, I know. The Midwest, I get it. Yeah, it's Midwest. They got, like, carnival rides.
Starting point is 00:02:50 They put up. They got, like, bands. They, like, do all that shit. Right? Yeah, there's a face painter. Yeah. They got a parade that features the local high school. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:02:57 No, I get it. Exactly. People fight for parade spots. they're like, I'm going to put my blanket here and I'm getting my parade spot or I want to see the fireworks. Because it's very important. Yeah, which by the way,
Starting point is 00:03:08 all the fireworks they're going to do got like canceled because it rained and people are just like, this is unbelievable. The weather has destroyed my summer. Anyway, so we were at one of these things. It was me and toast room in there. We got a beer. They're like, all right, you know,
Starting point is 00:03:23 just chill there a bit and then go home. Just like people watch. Because, you know, it's fun to see the people there. There's a lot of, interesting people. Right. So it starts raining a bit. And there's like lightning.
Starting point is 00:03:36 So they're like, hey, everybody, you know, lightning in the area. We're going to have to like, wait until we get the all clear. So people are like,
Starting point is 00:03:42 all right, whatever. And then some guy in his phone goes, it's supposed to be done in like 10 minutes. Turns out it was not. It was hours of rain. Yeah. And the weather thing.
Starting point is 00:03:56 I mean, that's how it happens when random guy looks at his phone. And it's like, I'm a meteorologist. I know how this works. Yeah. I mean, to be fair, I looked at my phone too, and it also said like 10 minutes. So I think he was looking at the same weather app. That's just like the normalized weather app.
Starting point is 00:04:14 It was like whatever. Sure. Anyway, it's like kind of raining. Like whatever. And then it's like, actually, it's going to rain for like 30 minutes. And then everyone's like, some people are like, I'm just leaving. And then people are leaving. Like, whatever.
Starting point is 00:04:26 You know, we'll wait a bit. Then it starts like thunder and more. Then it starts like heavy raining. Then it starts, then it's like, actually it's going to be heavy rain for like, I don't know, an hour and a half. And we're just like, uh, so people are just like chilling under the tent. The problem is the tent's got like metal ass poles holding it up, right? So then there's like a, uh, the people there like, you have to leave the tent. It is now a safety hazard.
Starting point is 00:04:55 Then they got like a cop there and he's like, you must leave the tent. And he's doing his like, weep, weep, whip, whip. Like, you got to leave the tent. So we're just like, well, it's pouring rain. So we're just going to like walk. We got to walk back to our car in the pouring rain. So we were waiting to see if it calmed down. But I'm glad we waited because we saw two of the most insane people I have ever seen.
Starting point is 00:05:19 Perfect. Yes, this is, yes. This is what I'm here for. Fourth of July is not great without its crazy people. Yeah. So one guy bald with a mustache. All right. Just put that in your head.
Starting point is 00:05:30 How big was the mustache? Like one of those carnival moustaches. Love it. Great. All right. Good. Yeah. All right.
Starting point is 00:05:38 He's got a cigarette as well. Perfect. And he goes, I ain't leaving this tent. I ain't leaving this tent. All right. He said, what? I said, yo, you get to stay in the cop car, man. I got to be out in the rain.
Starting point is 00:05:51 You're shielded from the rain. I ain't leaving this tent. I got a medical condition. I can't get wet. I got a medical condition. I can't get wet. Get Wet is amazing. I can't get wet.
Starting point is 00:06:04 He's gonna be like a maugly or whatever the hell. He's gonna turn into like a Gremlin if it gets wet. Yeah, so he's yelling about his medical condition, which I don't think he's got one. I think he was making that up. But you know what? Who am I to judge? He might have one. So he was just like, that cops telling me to leave.
Starting point is 00:06:24 I ain't leaving shit. You know what? He's like, shut everything. Shut everything down. Then I'll leave. Then I'll leave the tent and this other guy there who was wearing like a yellow like safety vest or like a reflector vest And people thought he worked there, but he didn't. He's just the guy and he was like yeah, I ain't leaving this shit Yeah, he's like if you arrest me, I'm gonna be the worst person you ever arrested I'm gonna shit on the walls
Starting point is 00:06:54 What? That's what he said says he's gonna shit on the walls Sure man. That's, you know what? These are the kind of guys who will talk a big game than the minute they get arrested to be like, someone call my mother. Absolutely. Without a doubt. They were probably also like two, three beer in.
Starting point is 00:07:13 That's so, it's so performative. Like, it's absolutely goofy the amount of people who will just, I'm tough and I'm guys, right? Everyone? Right? Like, you wouldn't do that. You just wouldn't say anything. If you were like a tough guy, you wouldn't say. anything and you'd wait them out.
Starting point is 00:07:32 Yeah, absolutely. You would just sit there and not talk to them and not interact. You drink your beers and you would be like, I don't listen to cops. And you just sit there. You want to make a big show that's nonsense. Yeah. And then, you know, I mean, listen, it was
Starting point is 00:07:47 two guys in a large amount of people. So, like, the other people were just like maybe like putting garbage bags on their head or like just trying to run to their car. Like, I got a walk to my car, I want to do it. But then once these guys started ramping up, some people are just like, I don't know, I'm just going to leave. I don't want to be around them. Yeah. If anything, people are
Starting point is 00:08:09 going to, you know, you make a scene like that. No one wants to be in that tent with you. Those two guys, though, they can cover that tent with all the shit they want. Yeah. So then the, they also had like food vendors there, but he's like, how about the food vendors leave? And it's like, well, they clearly work there. Like, they probably have a contract. Right. So like, if they get hit by lightning they probably already got some contractual thing of like it's your fault not ours so he's like i'll leave when you shut down all this stuff and then uh it's like still downpouring and i was like yeah we should we should probably just you know deal with it i do have a question okay so this is a tent where there's food and like everyone's hanging out there's multiple tents like
Starting point is 00:08:53 stack together and shit and the cops roll up and they're like you guys got to go because the weather Yeah, well they're like already there just like making sure people like this aren't causing problems And they were anyway but still but what's interesting though is the idea of These guys are so adamant about not all you got to do is just go anywhere else There's probably a bar nearby there's like you can do whatever and they're making such a big fuss out of it It's a non thing and I don't understand it but it feels like these guys are the dudes like I've got nowhere else to go. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:09:30 Like, why would you care? Because yeah, it's like, it's raining. You know, if you, listen, you're going to go out. You're going to get drenched. Your clothes are going to be all wet, but like, that's going to happen anyway. It's going to be raining for like two hours, man. Like deal with it. It is what it is.
Starting point is 00:09:46 So anyway, uh, it was like us. We were just kind of wait and see if it like lightened up a bit. And then there's like maybe like 10 other people there just like also waiting. and then they're just like all right, you know, you gotta start leaving, whatever. And I was like, all right, but I wanted to see if these guys did anything else. Just the, just the, you know, and so then the one guy. Yeah, they start like being like, all right, you know,
Starting point is 00:10:12 we're trying to push everything, like push everyone out of here, make sure you shut it down. And these guys are like, I'm not leaving. And the one guy goes, I'll F your wife. I'll F your mom. Just yelling at the, at the cops
Starting point is 00:10:26 yes yo that's that is some like I I must stress this clearly is a Midwestern white dude situation
Starting point is 00:10:39 because any other person anywhere else it would have been it would have been done yeah it's absolutely and you know the
Starting point is 00:10:47 they're just like dude the cops just like I don't want to deal with this shit and so So at that point, I was like, all right, then we just, then we left. And we did get soaked, but, you know, you get home, you dry off, you move on.
Starting point is 00:11:06 I genuinely wonder if this is like an incident. You know how some people won't go out in the, like, windy weather? Because they're afraid their hair will get all mess up and it's like a vanity thing. Or some people won't, they don't like hot weather because they have like really sweaty pits whatever and they destroy. You know, like there's always a thing behind everyone's emotions. And I wonder if these dudes, something about getting wet, would make them look or feel ridiculous. And they were like, I would rather go to jail than experience that. Yeah, it might be. I mean, he might have a medical condition that's going to destroy his mustache or something.
Starting point is 00:11:48 Right. Like one time I was, I was on. I've, I've seen plenty of videos of this, but I've never seen. seen in real life except this one time, but you know like when you're on a flight, you're at an airport or whatever, and someone freaks out, you see videos of it all the time. I've never had that actually happen, but I did experience a minor freak out where this couple was yelling at each other at the airport. And eventually the cops had to like come over and be like, what's going on? Calm down, guys. And the reason they got in a fight is because the man wanted to get up and get up and
Starting point is 00:12:24 go stand and wait. But the girl wanted to wait until everyone in the area of the terminal had left to go get on the flight. And it turns out the reason why is because she, I guess, had her period and wasn't prepared. And so she stained the seats. And so she didn't want to get up and have people see that. She wanted to wait until everyone was gone. So no one would be like, ew, gross.
Starting point is 00:12:54 you know what I mean? Yeah. Now that's not a thought of like what's going to happen when you get on the plane or whatever. You know what I mean? But just in that moment she was so mortified
Starting point is 00:13:04 she would rather instigate an argument with a bunch of people than get up. And I think about that often where I'm like, people will do crazy stuff to avoid, they would rather be
Starting point is 00:13:17 shamed in a different way than shame for the thing they're actually trying to cover up. Yeah. I mean, honestly, that is an interesting situation. It's like, what if you shit your paints? Exactly. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:13:31 It's like, you're just going to, you know, try to divert the attention. Yeah, I keep wondering about like mustache guy. Like if he gets wet, his mustache like false part or something, you know what I mean? Like he's like, what's so much work in my mustache? I don't want to, or he like has a leather jacket maybe and he's like, it's going to get ruined. That I can understand. People are weird like that. And I think about that all the time when I interact with people who seem to be having a bad day.
Starting point is 00:13:55 Because I always am like, what set them off originally? Because it ain't me. That's for sure. Yeah. Plus, these two guys are like feeding off each other. That's like the back and forth of like these like, that's, I got my constitutional rights. They're saying shit like that. Well, yeah, they found each other without Facebook.
Starting point is 00:14:13 But it's the same thing. Yeah. It's Facebook guys finding each other in real life. Yeah. So that was interesting. And then, let's see, anything else happened 4th of July? Oh yeah, I watched the classic. I watched the hot dog eating contest.
Starting point is 00:14:31 Yo, not only did I watch it. I sent you the Joey Chestnut intro this year. Oh, yeah. I sent it over on TikTok to you. Yeah, I listen. Oh, it's incredible. It's great. I would still love that man to introduce us at literally anything a lot.
Starting point is 00:14:51 the live show. I want to have for this live show that we're doing in August. I want to do an intro for each of us. A Joey Chestnut style intro. I have to get on that. I need to remind myself, I will get someone, I don't know, we'll find a voice actor of some sort to do it for us. And I need to find the song. I don't know what that song like do. Oh, I know it is. I found it. Okay, yes, yes, we have to do this. I don't want to introduce us this time. I wanted to be like,
Starting point is 00:15:26 this is their cathedral, the crystal dome of umbrella blue sky whose vaulted ceilings touch the edge of the heavens themselves. Volcanoes of entertainment have erupted, and magma of laughter has poured out, but many have been burned by the burns of laughter. Hold on, can I, I want to ask the audience
Starting point is 00:15:49 if they will allow this. I think it would be very funny to take all the Joey Chestnut videos, feed it into an AI, and ask it to create our intros. Honestly, that would be pretty interesting. I would love to know. I don't want to read them.
Starting point is 00:16:10 I'll have the team do it. If the audience is down, let us know. Please comment. Let us know. On social media, wherever. if you're listening on YouTube right there that's fine
Starting point is 00:16:20 I want the team to do it I don't want to know and then I want us to go out on stage hearing it for the first time that would be amazing actually I think that would be hilarious one of the only good uses of AI in the world yes yes I think if we just fed it all the
Starting point is 00:16:35 Joey Chestnut intros what would it possibly because you know it would be like forged from the volcanoes of heaven the angels right on Florida, man. I can only imagine. I would love it.
Starting point is 00:16:54 Dude, I was watching his other intros from like previous years. And he does intros for other people. They're just not as intense. But he had one for this guy who was like 80 years old competing. And he goes, We start drinking coffee at our young age with milk and sugar. Then we drink just sugar. then we drink it black, then we drink decaf, and then we die.
Starting point is 00:17:20 This man is at the decaf stage. It's so dark. It was insane. You know what's crazy is that is also my parents. They're at the decaf stage. That's it. He's not wrong. And I'm drinking my coffee black right now.
Starting point is 00:17:42 Dude, you're almost, you're on the road to decaf. I'm almost to the decaf. I'm still in the latte stage. I'm feeling pretty good. I'm thinking I'm good. That was, he had another one. This guy comes up.
Starting point is 00:17:53 He's like, this man has failed at every sport in his life. Soccer, football, basketball, baseball, curling. And he's like listing him off. And he's like,
Starting point is 00:18:03 but professional eating is the one that he is good at. It's like, holy shit. We really, I need, yeah, I need to, I'm going to have the team this week
Starting point is 00:18:14 work on that. It's my, I will not pull the trigger on it until everyone approves, chat, let us know. But I feel like this could be the one time that we need to. Yeah. I think last year's was still my favorite with the shards of broken angels or whatever the shit you said. Yeah, that was incredible. This one, I keep messing it up, but he says something about like, under the heavenly dome of this blue sky. Like he does a whole, he does a whole thing.
Starting point is 00:18:44 and I just don't know what the hell he's talking about, but it's amazing. It's practically poetry. It really is. It is how I imagine I would want to be announced if I was like a gladiator in ancient Rome. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:18:58 Like it's definitely got to, it's like wrestling tier intros. But like even better. It's impressive. Very. I love that man. Yeah. So watch that.
Starting point is 00:19:11 And then, yeah, then we barbed. barbecue, went to my parents, did all that, and then watch the PBS 4th of July, which is the most like scripted as, uh, fun 4th of July.
Starting point is 00:19:26 I love just like looking at the people in the background. like it'll be a guy trying to like walk onto the thing, like shove them back like you're not allowed here. I saw that happen like twice. And they're just like, we're having a great time at 4th of July. And he's just like, and well, 42 minutes till the fireworks. It's like they'll leave it the Beaver 4th of July special for boomers.
Starting point is 00:19:44 Yeah, all the music is like cheesy. I'm, I am a fan of when they had like John Williams and stuff. I don't know if they do that anymore, but they used to do that. And that was kind of fun. But something about fireworks doesn't do it for me anymore. I don't know what happened to me. I'm like jaded. I don't know what's going on.
Starting point is 00:20:05 Like yesterday, honestly, I think it's because of where I live. So the area of L.A. I live is not particularly touristy unless it's the fourth. of July because it's where they set off fireworks in the city. So during the 4th, everyone comes here. It's a mess. There's no parking anywhere. The streets are filled with cars. It's trouble.
Starting point is 00:20:27 But usually that starts around 4 p.m. So yesterday, I just went around during the day and checked out stuff. I went down to the beach. I went over to the pier, walked around this little shopping thing. I was doing all this. My goal was to be out of there by 4. I was like, I'm getting out of here. I'm going home.
Starting point is 00:20:43 I don't even want to be around this area of the city. So, you know, went and got like, there's this little tiny barbecue shack place that I went to. And I got a chicken sausage sandwich with fries and that was delicious. And I had a good time. But like, yeah, it's just bumming around. However, oh my God, dude. I saw two things that made me realize, I feel like we're living in a simulation. So first I went to go get gas.
Starting point is 00:21:13 And while I'm sitting there pumping gas, I don't know if this is something you have in your area. I know it's really in like major, major cities right now, but Waymo's. Do you have Waymos? I think I've seen a few, but not like a whole lot of them. In L.A. we have a lot. There was one time I was on a four-way intersection, and there were two in front of me, and then there were three at each of the other things at the intersection. I was like, they're taking over the city. This is ridiculous.
Starting point is 00:21:39 There's so many. The self-driving ones, right? Yes. self-driving, like driverless cars. And I have friends who swear by them. They love them. I was always kind of hesitant. I'm like, I don't know.
Starting point is 00:21:52 However, while getting gas, I think I had an epiphany of like, oh, no, they're just like us. I saw, I saw a waymo, no passenger, no driver cut through the gas station parking lot to skip traffic. I was like, yo, that thing gained sentience. What do you mean? It literally was driving And then I saw it go into the gas station I was like it's an electric car Why was it any gas?
Starting point is 00:22:20 First of how would it pump gas And then it like drove around everyone And then cut through the side And like went down the road more I was like it just It skipped a red light I was like this is amazing This thing is it clearly was like
Starting point is 00:22:33 Not today I have places to be I was like all right man It was incredible I was like all right cool And then I was at the grocery store Because I was like, well, you know I'm going to be at home.
Starting point is 00:22:48 It's the 4th of July. Like, I'll get a pizza. Like, I don't want to order one. That'll be a mess. But like, you know, the grocery store has those like fresh pizzas you can cook at home. And I was like, I'll get one of those and, you know, get like a few drinks. And I'll just go home and chill, man. And I have a chill night, which by the way, totally did.
Starting point is 00:23:06 I played the new Dark Tide. DLC character Awesome Awesome It's Mechanicus You're a Skatari dude It's great You can literally
Starting point is 00:23:18 Like change your body And you can do voice mods So your voice in game It has four normal settings But then you can like Oscillate all the frequencies So you can make your guy sound insane Like insane
Starting point is 00:23:32 My dude sounds like Matt Berry But a robot I don't know who Matt Barry is I forget that you don't watch anything. Matt Berry is the guy who maybe you've heard of like, you are the most devious bastard
Starting point is 00:23:46 in New York City. Like that? Yeah, I don't know. But I'll put that like I know. Go look up Matt Barry. I'm shocked you don't know who Matt Barry is. He's amazing. But it's absolutely goofy.
Starting point is 00:23:58 Had a great time. That's what I did for my 4th of July. It was great. And then I heard the fireworks literally outside my window. I was like, yeah, I'm all right. But anyway, During the day at the grocery store walking around, I might have been there for like 20 minutes, dude.
Starting point is 00:24:16 Went in, got a coffee, walked around with my coffee, grabbed stuff, waited in line. In that time, in that 20 minutes, I saw, I'm going to say minimum six people steal from that grocery store. What the shit? It was packed. The grocery store is packed. And I don't know if it's just a sign of economic times or whatever, but people were, one guy looked like an older man, didn't have the like, I'm a criminal look to him, just like an old man, walked out of the entrance only thing. So, like, beep, beep, bit, bit detectors are going off. He has in his hands one towel and a thing of pickles.
Starting point is 00:25:03 Boyd. Exactly. I don't, I, he stole a towel. a towel from the grocery store which is crazy. He stole a towel and a jar of pickles. Walked out, all the alarms went off. No one stopped him. He just kept going.
Starting point is 00:25:16 I think he like hit old man status where no one gave a shit. They were like, eh, he's old. I don't know what was going. And then at the entrance to another side of the grocery store, there was this woman fighting with a guy, like one of the security ladies who was there was fighting with this guy
Starting point is 00:25:31 because he was trying to walk out with, I'm going to say like 30, like health bars. those like cliff bars he was walking out with like a box of them and she's like you didn't pay for those and he's like oh I had forgotten see she's like mm-mm you don't get to forget you have to pay and he's like
Starting point is 00:25:48 well no I like was gonna and then I forgot that I was walking out and I was like oh what happened I'm so dumb and she's like mm-mm honey I was like okay then I saw this guy walk in and there's a Starbucks in there and he just started
Starting point is 00:26:04 stealing Starbucks cups What the I'm telling you man It was Again It's so weird because this section of the city Is not touristy But during one day out of the year
Starting point is 00:26:17 Everyone comes here And it becomes chaos Pure chaos I don't think anyone can manage Like the grocery store Was actively trying to People were just walking out with food Like this one guy
Starting point is 00:26:28 Went to the deli counter area And he literally just took a bunch of chickens And like dipped And the security guards on the comms talking about it. I didn't see it, but they were talking about, like, this guy walked out with three chickens. That is, like the, like the rotisserie chickens? Yes, the rotisserie chickens.
Starting point is 00:26:49 That's crazy. That is, because, like, everyone's there and they're like, I can get away with it. Absolutely, absolutely. But I have to feel like, I don't know. Was it like this every year? Because it doesn't feel like it, but maybe I'm just not there. at, you know, 3 p.m. on the 4th of July when it's about, the store's going to close at 5. You know what I mean? Like, I don't know.
Starting point is 00:27:12 Yeah. That's true. It might just be that. Yeah. I, I at first was like, oh, maybe it's because, you know, people aren't doing like economically well right now. So they're just stealing. But it's probably more likely they're just doing it to do it. Probably. I mean, it can be both. Yeah. It's a, it's, what's also crazy is that area of the city, uh, sort of has like a high way coming off of it, like an exit ramp. And there were a lot of bushes and trees and shrubbery there. And homeless people like lived up in that, right?
Starting point is 00:27:44 And it was kind of like a weird exit because there'd just be like 30 homeless dudes chilling like cooking a like meat over a fire. And you'd be like, what the hell? Anyway, I guess the city went in, cleared all the shrubbery. So it just looks like dirt as you drive in now. And there's no one there. But it also looks weird. make any sense? Like they destroyed the area
Starting point is 00:28:07 to keep the homeless guys out, but in doing so, ruined what the area looked like. Yeah, they essentially just like can nuke the area and be like, now no one can use it, but it just looks like it's fully destroyed. Yes, exactly. It's very, it's very weird.
Starting point is 00:28:24 Yeah, this city is a trip, man. It's, uh, it's interesting. And then last night, during the fireworks, they started at nine. And I don't think ended till 2 a.m. People were just setting them off around the city and you can hear them. So that was, I was up, I think, till three.
Starting point is 00:28:44 Because I couldn't, they were loud. Like I couldn't get to sleep. I was like, ah, screw it. So I just like went back to playing games. I was like, eh, whatever. That's, uh, I guess that was the one good thing about all the rain here is we got a drastically lower amount of fireworks. So I'm kind of the same. Like, I don't, the thing with fireworks to me is like, you just see them so often over the years. whatever it's like I don't know they just kind of look the same
Starting point is 00:29:09 it's nothing that crazy it's not like you're a Disneyland or something where they're doing like crazy shit they're great yeah that's what I mean there's like there's cool fireworks like if you do Disneyland or like they're doing like crazy designs and shit like that you're like ooh but like otherwise just like
Starting point is 00:29:24 hey look it's another firework just like it is every year boom wow yeah that's I went online because I was like all right I got to see what the hell they were doing in DC where they were like it's going to a Guinness world record fireworks display. I was like, all right, sure, let's see. Dude, it was mostly the same red firework over and over and over again.
Starting point is 00:29:45 And it was like a lot, but it wasn't, I don't know if I'm just, the internet has ruined me, like social media or whatever, but it wasn't entertaining. It was just a lot. Like it was numerically high, but entertainment value low. Yeah, quantity, not quality. And that's what it was. I was like, yeah, this sucks. And I kept skipping forward to be like, this is, this is stupid.
Starting point is 00:30:09 Yeah, I need like a good 15 minute Disneyland fireworks display where it's a bunch of cool stuff. Or the light one, like the water show one, or drones. I'll take drones too. I don't need fireworks. Yeah, yeah. No, I agree. I'm with you. It's just plus like fireworks, like they disrupt the wildlife.
Starting point is 00:30:31 Like all the animals hate them. there's like smoke and shit after they fire them off it's like pollution and everything like oh I mean it's literally explosives you know yeah so like I'm not a big fireworks person but I've never been a big fireworks person either but now I'm even less of a fireworks person I think as a kid
Starting point is 00:30:51 I loved fireworks and I understand why because it's cool boom sparkles I get it but like and the older I get the more I'm like I don't need fireworks so I If I had kids, I'd be like, let's go. I know this will be cool for you. But like the older I get, I don't, I don't have kids and I don't care. I'll do anything else.
Starting point is 00:31:12 And I even made the conscious effort to get up early. Like, did farmers market stuff. I like went around the city, led a full-ass life from like 9 a.m. till 4. And then it was like, all right, I'm done. I'm done for the night. I'm going to go home, make a pizza. I don't play video games. I'm out.
Starting point is 00:31:30 And it felt great. I was like, yo, this is the solid. strategy. You know, speaking of which. I so last year when it was 4th of July, I played Final Fantasy 3. All right.
Starting point is 00:31:45 Uh-huh. Yes, because you liked that one, if I recall. It's because years ago, I want to say like 2000, God, maybe like 2008 or 9. 2000 God. Good year. Good year. That was, those are great. The Lord's finally back.
Starting point is 00:32:01 That's when the shards of fallen angel. Rained from the sky. By the way, that song is a prime, like, I'd put that in one of my wow machinima was in like 2010. I'd put it in my machina now. I mean, yeah. It's great.
Starting point is 00:32:18 It is great. But anyway, so I did that last year, and I was like, that was all right. And then I remember I mentioned it, and you were like, you should play Final Fantasy 5. Mm-hmm. It's true. And so they had some sale last year for Final Fantasy remaster pixel things so I bought Final Fantasy 5
Starting point is 00:32:39 yep and I played that last night for probably like three hours okay and you know what I liked it I feel like you would it's I vividly remember this is one of my favorite like lore tidbits of Final Fantasy we got Final Fantasy Final Fantasy 2 which was actually Final Fantasy 4 and Final Fantasy 3 which was actually Final Fantasy 6 And the reason why
Starting point is 00:33:15 is specifically why they skipped 5 The earlier ones You know, there's a bunch of reasons why we didn't get those But they didn't release all the Japanese games here Right? So we went from 4 to 6 And they named them 2 and 3 And then if you're in America, the next one was seven, which was wild.
Starting point is 00:33:34 Because you're like, wait a minute. We were just on three. What do you mean? Seven. But Final Fantasy Five was deemed too complicated for American audiences by the devs. So they did not port it. They were just like, no, they won't figure this out. It's too complicated, which is crazy.
Starting point is 00:33:53 So we didn't get Final Fantasy Five until I think 1999 when they released a CD anthology for the PlayStation. that is crazy yeah and so and I am convinced while it isn't my favorite one I think mechanically it's the most fun like you can do so much nonsense
Starting point is 00:34:12 in that game I love it I genuinely love that game yeah and it's I don't know because people are like
Starting point is 00:34:20 why do you like this one more than the last one I was like I don't know like I guess it does feel like there's more quality of life things I do think the remaster thing also helps
Starting point is 00:34:29 because they got some stuff where they're just like get more experience turn off combat when you walk around like that type of shit which that's always like my least favorite stuff
Starting point is 00:34:39 in a lot of the games like like JRP stuff where it's like time to grind for 80 hours yeah yeah yeah you walk around you're just trying to like go explore a thing
Starting point is 00:34:48 and you keep getting in fights yeah that's annoying yeah like I was on that boat and I was like I don't know where to go on this boat and I'm like walking around it's just like
Starting point is 00:34:55 here's a goblin again I'm like get out of here yeah I don't want and then but with that I'm just like just like, oh, I can just click my switch to right stick and it turns off engagement things or whatever. So that was pretty neat. So yeah, I was playing that.
Starting point is 00:35:10 That was fun. Honestly, solid game. I'd probably play more of it. I think you would enjoy it. It's a solid, solid game. It's not too story heavy compared to the other ones. It's more like, all right, you want to be this job? We have to do this, this and this.
Starting point is 00:35:29 It's very, it's like, have you played Final Fantasy Tactics? I've not, but I have seen a lot of people love that. I feel like that's one you'd like too. It's like a tactical RPG. They just did a re-release and it's got like all the voice acting and stuff so you don't have to read a damn thing now. Oh, hell yeah. And it straight up is like, okay, when you start, you can be these like three or four classes. And then as you play, you unlock new ones.
Starting point is 00:35:57 But in order to have those, you have to have like, all right, well, in order to be this thing, you need to have this many levels and this other thing. And the best part is there's a, depending on which version you play, they're like different super jobs. But one of them is, oh boy, I think it's called an arithmeticist. It used to be a calculator. But basically, whatever they call it now, imagine a class that is the culmination of everything you've done before. so if you try to play it from the start, it would suck. But if you level up black mage, white mage, time mage, whatever,
Starting point is 00:36:36 and then you play it, you have all the things you unlocked available to you, but like 10 times more powerful. It's great. It's so busted and you're just like, the power of math, bitch, and everyone dies, it's awesome. Like that kind of stuff, it's really fun. It's a classic for a reason. Yeah, like I already, as I was,
Starting point is 00:36:56 doing it, I was realizing like the wackies, because I was like, dude, you go berser but then you get the monk thing, so you could just be like a monk berserker, so you're just like a berserker without weapons, you just punch it. It's good stuff. Like it, and you just start piecing it together. I'm like, dude, this is pretty cool. Plus, like
Starting point is 00:37:12 the, like you said, the story's not that crazy. Yeah, in five, it's not too crazy. In tactics, the story's pretty like adult. It's not crazy, but it's very like religious-centered and kind of like
Starting point is 00:37:27 you know like this family it's like Game of Thrones like this betrayed us and this did this and you guys and it's yeah for the time it was like way more adult than other Final Fantasy's yeah
Starting point is 00:37:38 there's like fun stuff out there not everything is like I have to hop on my chocobo and smoke the dragoon you know like it doesn't have to be that and so I think that's what's kind of fun about the Final Fantasy games is there's just a ton of them and each one's different
Starting point is 00:37:52 yeah yo I play I don't know if I talked about Batomon. You played Botomon? That's not really a U-game. It was one of the demos for the Steam demos and stuff
Starting point is 00:38:06 but it's not even like a demo It's like a full-on game. It's like Pokemon auto-bateling And so I played that a bunch. I played it on stream And it's essentially just Pokemon auto-bateling It's kind of like
Starting point is 00:38:21 Super Auto-Pets or whatever that one game I need you to know then when I typed in Batoman, the first thing came up was, did you mean Batman? No, I did it. Batman auto-bateling. But yeah, no, it's a solid game. For anyone that likes any type of auto-bateling or Pokemon-related type of thing.
Starting point is 00:38:49 It's not actual Pokemon, but it's like Pokemon-esque. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Really good. The Pokemon are just slightly off. But mechanically, it's just an auto-battler. It looks awesome. Yeah. No, it was really good.
Starting point is 00:39:03 And then, of course, there's the big UMA update. So I've been playing a lot of horsegirl racing again. I would have looked into it. I saw it pop up on my Twitter feed. And I was like, oh, cool. I clicked the hashtag. Nope, shouldn't have done that. It was all porn.
Starting point is 00:39:18 All Uma porn. I was like, this site sucks. I can't. All I want to do. wanted was information and it was like hey do you want to see a horse titties like a horse titties yeah um yeah that's that sounds like the internet uh but the the big thing here for for summing up what changed is there was a career mode they added in called uh track blazer wherever the shit trailblazer trackblazer.
Starting point is 00:39:50 Sure. And pretty much you would do that and you would have to run like 30 races in a mode and then manage your items and all this shit. And it was just at first it's like pretty fun because it's new. And then once you realize that's all you have to do for the career mode, because the old career mode, the one you played, it's just like, do you want speed or do you want guts or do you want width or you just do that over and over? This one's just like, I have to buy this item and I got.
Starting point is 00:40:19 give her energy and then she's got to do this race but then I have to make sure I pop my hammer so she gets bonus stats and if I don't have enough hammers by the end then I'm not going to get enough bonus. It's just like and sometimes you're just like I don't want to do that as well I shut my brain off and click wit and that's it. So
Starting point is 00:40:34 with this new update they're essentially we're just like hey the old career modes they added in are good again and the one that nobody likes is like you don't have to play that one anymore unless you want to like farm parent sparks or whatever shit but that's like, you know.
Starting point is 00:40:50 So yeah, it's been pretty much everybody's been playing again because of that. And it's been a lot of fun because now you can run a career mode in like 25 minutes instead of an hour. That's cool. Yeah. That's been great. I've been playing a lot of that. I did make my video on Wow immersion and that was actually doing pretty well. But I think I mentioned that last week.
Starting point is 00:41:10 Yeah, you said that people were giving you a hard time. Yeah. But now there's been like some other YouTubers that have also reacted to my video. So it was getting more traction. Yo, that's the winner right there. I love that. Speaking of traction, I am so incredibly confused by what takes off on Twitter versus what takes off on Blue Sky. Like, I frequently will post the same thing to both, right?
Starting point is 00:41:37 And a great example is, yesterday I posted this thing about how my favorite Fourth of July memory was actually seeing the movie Independence Day on July 3rd. And as it clicked over to July 4th in the movie, it clicked over to July 4th in real life and everyone in the theater lost their minds. Right? It was a very 90s, a very like simple time kind of thing. I remember that and loved that. Twitter? Yeah, that's cool, Jesse. Blue Sky?
Starting point is 00:42:03 Oh my God. Everyone is thrilled about that. Like sharing it with people. And I don't know why. Meanwhile, there'll be other times we're all post a thing. And Blue Sky would be like two people like this. And then on Twitter, it's like four. 45,000 people.
Starting point is 00:42:19 I'm like, what? I don't understand. It's just like when you post something to TikTok versus YouTube shorts. I don't know why one audience favors something more than another. Just from my general consensus here, I think Twitter loves more dramatic stuff. So like, just from looking at your Twitter real quick, just like a, hey, here's me talking about the Epic Games CEO thing, right?
Starting point is 00:42:55 So that's kind of like a drama thing. Oh, yeah. The thing I did about extra Emily when she got caught again, driving and almost crashing. The thing got picked up by news stories. Yeah. There's like articles that are like, YouTuber, Jesse Cox, said this. I'm like, why am I included? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:43:11 And it's because it's drama and they see you tweeted about that drama. And so they're just picking that up and going, Put it in our The least hot take, by the way. Me being like, if you're driving and you're talking with chat, you should get your license. You should be kicked off.
Starting point is 00:43:25 You shouldn't be allowed to drive. It's happened so many times to her. Like, this is ridiculous. Not a, not a sassy take. The realest, like, lamest most milk toast take ever.
Starting point is 00:43:36 And people are like, oh, okay. They should really just make it on Twitch. If you are driving a car, you should not be able to like, read chat or look at your phone or like her apology was crazy because she was like
Starting point is 00:43:52 I'm going to reflect on this and I'm going to drive less while streaming it's like no drive zero while streaming what are you talking about? And the fact that this happened before in 23 and she made almost the exact same apology video like do yeah come on come on you can't you can't keep getting away with this just grow up already
Starting point is 00:44:12 yeah no it's and it's the thing where she's getting away with it because she's like one of the bigger Twitch people. So they, like if this was a smaller stream or something, they'd be ban. Yeah. Oh, for sure. The one guy who posted, I did the same thing or whatever and was banned for nine years. Yeah. And I mean, the shit happens in sports and stuff, right? Like, they'll be like, oh, this guy got arrested for domestic abuse, but he runs fast and he's got like 12 touchdowns last year. Yeah, so it's all right. So he's better than us. So he, yeah, yeah, it's fine.
Starting point is 00:44:45 But then like some like practice squad guy does it. They're like, we think better of our players than have someone like this on our team. Get them on here. Like it's easy to do it if it's, you don't give a shit. But if it's somebody that's like making you money and making your team better and doing all this stuff, you're like, well, can't lose them. That's the same thing. Which admittedly, it's not. Because when it comes to football or whatever, right?
Starting point is 00:45:10 Right. There's only so many players. But on YouTube and Twitch and kick. or whatever. Look, I know, I know how the back end works. They can elevate someone and make them famous. They can. So like, boot the bad people and then pick someone new to have the guy who runs the CEO
Starting point is 00:45:30 hang out with. Like, that dude is always in video with this girl. Just find someone else. You can find someone else. You know how this industry works with connections and knowing people. I would be like, nah, you're trash. Let's find someone new. I would do like the old studio executives back in the day, like the 1930s.
Starting point is 00:45:51 And I'd be like, I can replace you. You're all replaceable. Yeah, but you're also not going to like Twitch parties talking to the girls. That's right. I am not a 60-year-old man going to, yeah. I'm not a 6-year-old man to hang out with 20-somethings. You're right. You're right.
Starting point is 00:46:06 Yeah. So, you know, just the Twitch television classic. It's all it is. But yeah, that's, but I think, again, Twitter is more the drama side and it loves drama or anything rage baity or anything that can gauge or, you know, get people commenting and replying to a thing or posting somewhere. While blue sky is just kind of like, but probably more like old Twitter, to be honest. Where it's just like, hey, here's a fun thing I like. And people are like, that is a fun thing.
Starting point is 00:46:37 although I will say while Twitter has its like complete crazy people Blue Sky has I don't want to say crazy If you post I like pancakes on Twitter Someone will be like You cook only cucks eat pancakes
Starting point is 00:46:57 And if you post it on Blue Sky it's like Waffles are preferable And it's like okay At least we're back to baseline internet You know what I mean Like at least I don't like it, but at least I can understand it.
Starting point is 00:47:10 It has that little smugness to it. But that's more like old Twitter. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. It's like, all right, look, I don't like this. And I feel like you're up your own ass, but you didn't say you're going to kill my family. So I'm pretty good with this. Yeah. That's just, you know, it's just your standard, you know, Warhammer player or something like that.
Starting point is 00:47:32 Yeah, yeah, yeah. But You know what's better than Both Twitter and Blue Sky You know what? That's real Factor It's the head of summer You're out, you're about, you're living your life

Oh man, it's 4th of July weekend So it's it's pretty terrible at there Plus there's a lot of weather and heat and rain and all that stuff It's it's pretty bad there's fireworks smoke
Starting point is 00:50:12 So really if you can just Take the Chocobo trails That's probably a better option Thank you Honestly true true And as a fan of Match at the Gathering That they released a Chocobo tracks set and all the foils have little chokubo
Starting point is 00:50:32 footprints all over them, they're really cute anyway, totally unrelated, but yeah, that's fun. Yeah, I did see that one when you posted that picture at that event you went to with the Chocobo the Final Fantasy one. Uh-huh. Is that a realistic replica
Starting point is 00:50:52 of the chokobo in the game? Because they have gigantic, gigantic feet. The one that, is that, that I posted with, that is, there's two mascots, there's Chocobos, which are like, you know, Chocobos. And they're like giant, almost ostrich-looking Velociraptor
Starting point is 00:51:15 looking bird things. But then there is the Chokebo from the game Chocobo's Dungeon, which is who that guy is. And he's basically a baby Chocobo, like, or like a kid Chocobo. Like that's the mascot of those games. Chokebo Dungeon games are really, cute. You would actually probably
Starting point is 00:51:31 enjoy them. He just plays the little chokobo guy. And so that's kind of like a mascot version. Is it life size? I don't know. But I like that guy. And then of course basically Square Inix is like Square Soft is the Chokebo mascot side. And then the
Starting point is 00:51:47 annex part is the Dragon Quest side, which is their mascot is a little blue slime. And so you'll always see them together now. And I you know what? I'm fine with it. I like both those guys. That slime? He's great. All right.
Starting point is 00:52:02 Just wanted to make sure. Yeah, no, I got you. I got you. I got you covered. I really had to make sure. Yeah, that's the traffic. Okay. Let's go to weather.
Starting point is 00:52:13 Weather. All right, hold on. Here we go. We got 13 weather requests. Let's see where we land today. We have landed on. Weather request. Mildgeville, Georgia, home to Georgia's old capital until Sherman's March to the Sea.
Starting point is 00:52:36 Also final home and resting place of writer Flannery O'Connor. And currently, in Mildgaville, it is, 92 degrees, feels like 103, woo. A chance of rain, 7%. It is winds at 4 miles an hour southwest, humidity 54%. EV Index 1. Air quality 61, 10 mile visibility, dew.73, pressure 29.87 inches. Moon phase waning gibbis with a 629 a.m. sunrise and an 8.45 p.m. sunset. Tonight. Shows early. Monday. PM thunderstorms 93 degrees. Tuesday. 95 degrees. Partly cloudy. Wednesday. Mostly sunny 98 degrees. Thursday. Mostly sunny. 90 degrees. Thursday. Mostly sunny. 90 sunny. 97. Friday, partly cloudy, 96. Saturday, partly cloudy, 95, Sunday. Scattered, storms, 91.
Starting point is 00:53:36 And it's pretty much just mid-90s with sun or rain every day. This town is amazing. I strongly recommend everyone who is listening right now, when you have the time, look up Millardville, Georgia. Because it is, you said this was the original capital before the Civil War? It's home to Georgia's old capital until Sherman's March to the Sea. Has huge southern town vibes where there is a very small, very central upscale area. So right in the middle, you have the Georgia College of Arts and Sciences, right?
Starting point is 00:54:18 You have the old governor's mansion. You have all these different places, like a lot of parks. And then you have like, you know, the local yokel cafe or the matron. Apollos Cafe. You have like all these different like Buffingtons and barbaritos and you know the brick, right? You have all these places
Starting point is 00:54:38 that look kind of like small town but you know very fancy food. Yeah. Like the vault is another place right. Maybe touristy, I don't know, but like very I came downtown to spend the day walking around and we're going to eat at one of these fancy places. But then
Starting point is 00:54:58 you go two blocks in any direction and suddenly you're like out on streets where no you get to play like AJ's hot wings to go looks like it's in the middle of nowhere yeah it's just a shack it's just right and that's two blocks away the other direction two blocks away
Starting point is 00:55:18 you're going to end up at bean cats bean cats I guess this would be like a like a cheese steak restaurant oh yeah I see that But even this, it's same vibe. It's in the middle of nowhere. Like, street view-wise, and it's very southern town where, like, there's a really tight
Starting point is 00:55:38 intersection of that town, which it's got the main buildings, and then a bunch of delicious, like, when my parents lived in Kentucky, this was a lot of the cities there, where, like, you have three blocks of just, it feels like a really cool, chill, mini-metropolis place. And then the minute you leave those three blocks, you are out in the middle of nowhere, and the restaurants are like, welcome to the old shack. There's one in the south. It's called shrimp boat of Mildgeville.
Starting point is 00:56:07 That's, dude, I'm telling you. That is, this is, uh, this is very southern. Yeah, they got Ellen's diner. Ellen's diner looks like a brick shack. I don't, I would assume it's closed. There's the Haynes snack bar.
Starting point is 00:56:25 That place, I don't even, I don't think there's an actual building. I think it's just someone's house. It probably is. There's, oh my, way down in the southern area, there's country buffet.
Starting point is 00:56:40 It's not even the old country buffet. It's just the country buffet. Yeah, there's nothing old about it. Yeah. And it's just, it's a buffet. They got like macaroni and cheese. Yeah, your mashed potatoes,
Starting point is 00:56:50 various fried meats, collared greens. Yeah. And it looks like it. cafeteria of like a high school. It does. Yeah. It's so crazy to me that that's, I mean, that's just, that's the vibe.
Starting point is 00:57:07 And then, but then you go right into Midville millage. I can't even say the name of this place. Right. Proper. And Korean barbecue, sushi. Yeah. Bakery's. A lot of coffee places.
Starting point is 00:57:21 Ned Kelly's downstairs. Green Southern Kitchen. My favorite sweet tea with a twist. You know, you got like the Velvet Elvis grill and tap. You got more chicken wing places than I can buy. There's so many places. Even a smoothie king, bro. Like there's just so many places here, but only in this one particular spot.
Starting point is 00:57:44 And then everything is just like, oh, you go a little further out and you're in the middle of nowhere. And there's a shack that's like, we sell every food. It really is just like the. They got that like a couple streets of just like, you got to eat your fancy food and then everything else. It's so quintessentially southern. Again, I'm not sure. I don't think that's the case for like northern, uh, small towns like this. Where it's just like the, because usually the downtown is, honestly, I think it's because suburbs.
Starting point is 00:58:20 Mm-hmm. Suburbs make it so there's a lot of places spread out. But in the south, it isn't a lot of that. I'm not sure what the Georgia suburb situation is like. I guess I just don't know, but it's crazy to me. That is crazy. It was an interesting place. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:58:38 What's wild is if you take the road that goes north and I assume leads you to Atlanta, that's, yeah, it definitely does. That road, the 441, if you go south, there's nothing. But if you go north, all along that road is like Jack's Family restaurant Sonic Drive-In, Zaxby's, Chick-fil-A, cookout, Huey Magoose, chicken tenders, bro? Holy shit. That's crazy. Like an applebees, a longhorn, a canina, like a fa place.
Starting point is 00:59:11 It's all along this road. In fact, there's like holiday ins and Fairfield Suites. You can tell what's important. Yeah. This road clearly is people are going to Atlanta, so we're going to, like even along this road, the further you get out is old Clinton barbecue. You, I'd go there in a heartbeat. I'm not even going to lie.
Starting point is 00:59:29 Holy shit. The place looks like it seats five people. But I bet the barbecue is like solid. That's, uh, oh my God. I was going south on the road. So I was like, okay, so this road just goes south. It's just you're going to Florida essentially. Yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:59:46 The 441 south is, it leads you to Dublin, Georgia. And then all the way down to Florida. If you go to Brockston and Broxton, in Broxton, Georgia. There's one place I see called Blues Place in all capital letters. And this looks like an office building. And it's got five stars.
Starting point is 01:00:07 And the menu's just like, some dude's Weber Grill. And I think he's just grilling shit up in his Weber Grill and like throwing it on styrofoam plates. I mean, yeah, that's probably correct. It does look like, it just does look like an office. Although, no, if you look at the street view, dude, that's not an office. There's a giant, I'm going to assume warehouse or something across the street.
Starting point is 01:00:35 Random, there's, the street view is just dogs. There's like a pack of dogs. And then the building looks like a white shack. This is how you know you're in the country, dude. Even when we were looking at like Wyoming and stuff, it didn't look like this. Oh my God. Yeah, I see. he's probably feeding the warehouse workers or something.
Starting point is 01:00:59 Honestly, I would imagine this dude is actually doing pretty well. A 5.0 with 43 reviews, I would imagine, is this the only place to eat in this small town? There's a supermarket. Dude, I... It might be. I think it is. Which, honestly, you'd be a fool not to open like a burger place. a place like this.
Starting point is 01:01:27 Yeah. You're telling me in the hook, they get, there's more used tire places than there is. That really is it? Yeah. I mean,
Starting point is 01:01:39 even looking at the Google reviews, every single person's, like this place is amazing. I mean, the menu literally is a burger, pooled pork, pork chop,
Starting point is 01:01:51 pulled chicken, and then legs. That's it. Yeah. That's it. Oh, and baked potatoes. Oh, yeah, and baked potatoes. But everything else is like, my man is selling a can of soda for a buck.
Starting point is 01:02:04 You tried to get that here in L.A. That's like $3.50. It's for a can, man. A burger. The prices had to have changed. This is six years ago. But like, that's still 2020. This guy, uh, lunch menu, Monday through Thursday.
Starting point is 01:02:21 My man, you can get a triple burger, eight bucks. That's an insane deal With a triple Burger combo Sandwich fries drink 1099 Oh my god Yeah that is That's a steel
Starting point is 01:02:37 That's crazy But you're right It looks like Like an office It looks like the The main area of the show The Office when you walk in Yeah it does
Starting point is 01:02:50 It really does That's just that he's got a the blues place. I don't even know if that's like Photoshopped on or if that really is on the desk. I imagine it's on the desk. Maybe. But with that said,
Starting point is 01:03:06 looking at this plate of food, the burger looks like a cookout burger. It doesn't look like one of those burgers you would get like a fast food place or even like a Chili's or whatever. This looks like a real. The tomato looks good. The pickles.
Starting point is 01:03:20 I get it. I'm in. This, that's a real ass restaurant. You know, Blue's place? This is like when we found that place in San Antonio. That was like in the middle of nowhere. I was like, yes, this is the real shit.
Starting point is 01:03:33 Yeah, they're just like, listen, I just want to make my food. I don't care where I am. The most expensive thing on this menu, as far as I can tell, is the 1099 triple burger combo. That's crazy. That is crazy. Also, yes, it is very clearly designed for the workers. Their operational hours are 11 to 5 and then 11 to 5. and then 11 to 4 on weekends.
Starting point is 01:03:56 Oh, yeah. Maybe that says 9, 11 to 9 on weekends. But whatever the case may be, they very clearly are open for lunch. That's it. Yeah. Which is awesome. That is awesome.
Starting point is 01:04:10 So I mean, then then, because there's people that live nearby too, though. Like right above there, you can see there's like. Well, let's be very clear. It's not a lot of people. Oh, yeah, that's true. Yeah, like if you drop in, up here. It's very much like...
Starting point is 01:04:27 It's not a lot of people. That's for sure. It's like a step above trailer park home is kind of to do. Like, looking at some of these. Yeah. But honestly, that's kind of dope. You know what? And it's crazy that then south of that is Douglas. I know nothing about Douglas, Georgia. Yeah, I don't either. It's got... It's like a big circle or a big roundabout thing there.
Starting point is 01:04:50 Yeah. A lot of barbecue places, though. And I do like barbecue. They have a, dude, they have an old times country buffet. Country buffet. I see that. That's amazing. It reminds me of how in driving between Cincinnati and Louisville, Kentucky, there used to be a waffle house. But I guess they sold it or the franchisee didn't want to pay whatever.
Starting point is 01:05:12 So it became waffle steak because steak fit where house was. Yeah, that makes sense. So same buy. Dude, there is a picture of an. old man with a giant white beard eating at the old times country buffet. Hell yes. Hell yes. Like that.
Starting point is 01:05:34 Does that work? Oh, it works all right. Yo, this rules. That is amazing. I'm actually kind of shocked that a country, and I'm sorry, an old times country buffet still has a 4.1. I would have figured a buffet is going to get like a three something. Yeah, you would think so. You would.
Starting point is 01:05:58 You know what? I trust the old times country buffet more than the actual old country buffet. Well, that's because it's spelled O-L-E. Yeah, that's what I mean. It's not old times. It's the old. Or Olay times if you want to get spicy. The Ole times.
Starting point is 01:06:17 There we go. That's the weather. Oh, right. Let's go to sports. Sports. We got sports all over the place. Let's see. Today, Norway beat Brazil.
Starting point is 01:06:31 Oh, my God, that's pretty crazy. When I was getting into my car, I was going down to the elevator today. And I'm going to say, like, 20 Brazilian fans got in. And they were so hype. And they were like talking about how they're like, no one in Norway even knows how to play football. They're terrible. We're going to beat them. And then I saw the score and was like, yikes.
Starting point is 01:06:50 That's rough. Yeah, we had, let's see, in the previous rounds, where is this? We had Paraguay beat Germany, France beat Sweden, and then France beat Paraguay. Let's see, we had Canada beat South Africa, but then they lost to Morocco who beat the Netherlands. Now it's France versus Morocco. We had Portugal beat Croatia, Spain beat Austria, and then Portugal, Spain are going to play. That's going to be a crazy game. USA beat Bosnia-Herz, which I do not know where that is.
Starting point is 01:07:35 If you asked me to point for that. Yeah, I don't know where that is. I mean, there was a whole war. There was a whole thing America was involved in. No, you don't remember that? You're probably too young, to be honest. I probably was too young, yeah. I figure it's probably like, oh yeah, okay.
Starting point is 01:07:56 It's like southeast of Croatia. You would think I would know. It's in those countries most Americans don't know. In that area of Europe where it's like there's too many. It's like states over there. You got too many. I'm I supposed to. Yeah, it's that part.
Starting point is 01:08:09 I don't blame you. I feel bad for them because we really should know, but no one ever does. I'm also like part Croatian. I'm like right there, but you would think, but you know, I know. Croatia, but listen, I'm like American Croatian, all right. Yeah, look, look, I got
Starting point is 01:08:27 all sorts of Irish and Middle Eastern blood in me, and if you were to ask me about like the ins and outs of Ireland, for example, I wouldn't know. Yeah, it's it's the same when, like you said, America, like, do you think most people know where Indiana is? Yeah, they don't.
Starting point is 01:08:45 Yeah, I mean, if they started making like a Bosnian TV show everyone loved, I bet we would real quick. Like if you were to ask people overseas, we're Scranton as I bet they would know. Yeah, probably. Then we had, uh, let's see. Oh yeah, Belgium beat Senegal. So now it's USA versus Belgium. That's tomorrow. Uh, Brazil beat Japan. And then Norway beat the Ivory Coast. So then Norway beat Brazil. So they moved on. Mexico beat Ecuador. And then England won against Congo. So now it's Mexico, England. I'm so excited. Have you seen videos online? It's wild. They, uh, so the English, um, team made it look like they were staying at different hotels so they could trick the Mexican fans because the Mexican fans were going around outside the hotel, setting off fireworks and chanting loudly.
Starting point is 01:09:40 Like, they couldn't sleep. That's insane. And I guess they still found them, which is incredible. I was like, oh my God. What's crazy? There are so many Mexican flags, Brazilian flags, Spain, Colombia. I'm trying to think of what else I've seen. But like, how am I racist doing? You know, like, I keep, there's dudes driving down the road with giant Mexican flags. And I have to imagine, if you're not up on the World Cup, you are literally having a moment right now. You're losing your mind. You're like, oh, God, they're finally taken over.
Starting point is 01:10:17 Like, I just don't know what's going on right now. over the Super Bowl I have to. But it's crazy. I'm here for it. I love seeing people be like, again, like I said, 20 people all decked out in Brazilian stuff got in the elevator today. And I was like, cool. Enjoy, enjoy your match.
Starting point is 01:10:35 But like, yeah, I really do like the World Cup stuff. I think it's really nice to see everyone kind of like hype about their team. It's interesting. I didn't think I would like it as much as I did. I thought it was going to be annoying. You know what? You know what I mean? Which makes me feel like maybe the Olympics in L.A. could be good.
Starting point is 01:10:55 I don't know. Yeah. I mean, maybe. Although, honestly, I think people care more about the World Cup than the Olympics. Oh, for sure. For sure. Yeah, then we had Argentina beat Cape Verde, which I saw was like insane. Argentina almost lost.
Starting point is 01:11:12 Yeah. I think they play Egypt next, I think. Yeah, Egypt beat Australia. So it's Argentina, Egypt. And then we had Switzerland beat Algeria and Columbia beat Ghana. So it's Switzerland, Colombia. So. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:11:26 Honestly, best games look forward to for me, even though the USA is playing. Nah, it's Portugal versus Spain. That's awesome. And then Mexico versus England because that's, I like, the English fans are one thing. But the Mexican fans are a whole other thing. And I want to see that crowd. I demand all crowd shots. They need to have like the game in the corner.
Starting point is 01:11:49 and then just crowd shots the entire time. Yeah, absolutely. That's going to be an insane game. Yeah, that would be fantastic. I would, that's a game that I would have loved, like, to be there at. Yeah. And then we have baseball standings where Tampa Bay Rays in first place, the White Sox in first place in the Central,
Starting point is 01:12:13 the Mariners first place in the West, Braves first place in the East, Brewers first place in the Central, and the Dodgers first place in the West. And that's sports. Okay, dokey. What is our big fact of the day? Oh, this is a big fact of the day right here. Big, big fact.
Starting point is 01:12:36 Um, big fact. I do. I didn't, you know what? Not only new stories can be big. I want a big fact. All right. This is a big fact. Okay.
Starting point is 01:12:45 A turtle shell Is unique in that it is made up of around 50 bones Oh Uh Okay It's not big enough for you You just can do No I mean it's that's 50 bone big
Starting point is 01:13:05 But I'm trying to imagine Is it the inside? Because does the outside count as bone? Uh Let's see it says with rib shoulder bones vertebrae fuse together to form the hard external shell
Starting point is 01:13:21 how it forms today can be observed in a developing turtle embryo ribs broadened first followed by the broadening of vertebrae final state is the outer layer of the perimeter of the shell is a complex structure whose initial transformation started
Starting point is 01:13:36 over 260 million years ago dude if you go to the wiki for turtle shell they have an image of like a slice of a, like a turtle, and you can see its bones are connected directly to the top of its shell. Oh, yeah, that's crazy. I never would have thought of it like that for some reason.
Starting point is 01:13:59 They always sell it in media as like, that's his little home, you know? Obviously, he can't get a new shell, but I never put two to together. Literally, his spine is fused to the thing. Yeah, that's like actually in. I guess that's why when you see like sea turtles or whatever and they have a lot of barnacles on them, and they have to remove the barnacles, they have to sedate them or give them drugs because I imagine it would hurt.
Starting point is 01:14:25 Because it's used to the literal body. Yeah. Or like if people mess with turtle shells, like it's actually hurting them. So that's literally their body. Yeah. Oh, that's great. I never have looked at it. Like even his spine, dude got scoliosis.
Starting point is 01:14:42 The spine, like the curve and it's. It's wild looking. No wonder they're like, hoi. He's got the body of a YouTuber streamer. Yes. Do you be looking at his phone too much.
Starting point is 01:14:56 That's crazy. That is a big, you know what? That's a big fact. That's a big fact, dude, there you go. Well delivered. I like that.
Starting point is 01:15:03 Yeah. There it is. Okay. Who has come to us with tears in the rise? We have tears, dear, illustrious tears.
Starting point is 01:15:15 Oh, we got eight this time. People are commenting. Keep commenting. Even if you don't get picked, you have a chance. You enter the Cox and Crendor lottery. Where the prizes are this. Yep, that's it.
Starting point is 01:15:29 That's the prize. Dear illustrious sirs, I come to you with tears in my eyes and an oven overflowing with pies. What is your perfect relaxation day? I thought this was going to be about pies. Yeah, I mean, like, Pie could be included. I had good cherry pie.
Starting point is 01:15:45 I'm a big fan of. I can handle that. That's true. I like key lime pie. You know what? I like key lime pie too. You should Google Coochie's key lime pie and go down that rabbit hole. Oh, okay.
Starting point is 01:15:56 It's a weird internet mystery. You will love it. Ah, man. Honestly, I think yesterday was a pretty good. I went out in the morning. I walked around, got some like exercise in, did all that kind of stuff, had a great barbecue. lunch, came home and played video games the rest of the night and just relaxed and chilled. Like that's that's a vibe for me.
Starting point is 01:16:22 That was a good day. That was a chill day. I loved it. That is pretty good. I think for me, relaxing would just be, you know, maybe building paint and playing some Warhammer, you know, reading, writing, working on my book. uh, you know, maybe play some video games a little bit. Uh, probably go to the gym.
Starting point is 01:16:49 Uh, then, uh, let's see, maybe go out to eat somewhere. It's like, uh, you got good wine. Uh, you know, I have a couple glasses of that. And, you know, maybe go for a walk. I'm telling you, dude, I genuinely think the key to relaxing day is to include a walk at some point. Oh, you got to include a walk. You have to include a walk.
Starting point is 01:17:16 Like, and it can't be like just a walk down the street. Like, go for a walk, walk. Yeah, real walk. That's, it'll clear, you'll, like, think things and you'll see stuff and you'll, like, get sun and air and your body will be like, thanks, bro. It's great. I'm going to say, if you have the chance to go for a walk, go for a walk. That's honestly something that should be like a pretty.
Starting point is 01:17:40 common thing people include in their life, but many people probably do not. Everything walks are slow, man. Like, you, you, until you shut down and say, I don't, I'm not going to do anything else but go for a walk. You will constantly be like, I could be doing other things right now than just walking. That's never me. I would be like, dude, I could be walking right now instead of doing these things. Well, that's because you're a better person than me. That's for sure.
Starting point is 01:18:05 But I think most people are like, ah, you know, I got stuff to do. I don't have time to just like go walk around. I'll get my walk in by like rushing around. Like take a stroll is what I'm saying. Yeah, now you're going for the stroll walk. Yeah. Like take it like a, I don't have a care in the world for an hour and just let that happen. Like take the time to like go walk around and explore and just learn about your community.
Starting point is 01:18:34 I bet you would enjoy it. Yeah, I think so. Um, that's pretty good one. Look that. Uh, all right. Let's see. Our other dear illustrious sir. We have landed on dear illustrious sirs with tears in my eyes.
Starting point is 01:18:55 And a half inch deep hole in my finger from my new hobby knife. Oh, God. Damn. Uh, if you were to suddenly become a witch of some sort, what kind would you be? The evil cackling kind, the friendly village witch, etc. I'm literally going to type in types of witches. I need to know the complete options here. Yeah, I feel it.
Starting point is 01:19:18 So there's different witches. Oh, there's a witch. Hold on. There's witch quizzes and stuff online. Which choices? What type of witch are you? Oh, my God. Let's go.
Starting point is 01:19:30 Yes. Discover your type. Yes. Okay. Crendor, I want to start with you. All right. What are your. are your most what are you most naturally drawn boy i can't speak what are you most naturally drawn to herbs and plants
Starting point is 01:19:45 recipes tarot runes or other divination tools working with the moon working with the sun astrology death ancestors or spirit transitions sigils or experimented spells structured ritual systems crystals and stones reading signs of animals or weather learning practical spells ocean magic or the unseen
Starting point is 01:20:12 oh man it's down to either herbs and plants or the signs of animals and rituals or whatever I think I'm gonna go with ritual signs all right which of these feels
Starting point is 01:20:26 closest to how you think about magic I'm interested in connecting with ancestors I'm curious about crossing between worlds or spirit communication. I'm drawn to working with land spirits or fairfolk. I see magic mostly as symbolic or psychological. I prefer structured magical systems with correspondences and timing. I'm most interested in practical spellwork that solves everyday problems. I like combining ideas from different traditions.
Starting point is 01:20:56 I'm especially interested in working with death or major transitions. I'm drawn to working with symbols or systems used to understand fate. What was the third one? I'm drawn to working with land spirits or fairy folk. That one. Great, done. Okay, where does magic feel strongest to you? In forest fields or wild landscapes?
Starting point is 01:21:20 In the kitchen when cooking or baking? Near oceans or rivers. Under the night sky. At sunrise or midday. In cemeteries or ancestral. places at thresholds or crossroads or inside structured ritual space. Definitely forests. All right.
Starting point is 01:21:41 You are a fay witch. You're drawn to traditions involving land spirits often described as folklore as the fair folk. Fay witches usually explore offerings, boundaries, and landscape-based relationships rooted in older European traditions. your practice develops through awareness of the unseen presence within the natural world. I've always said I'm rooted in ancient European tradition.
Starting point is 01:22:08 Yeah, especially for your witchcraft. I get that. Yeah. All right, well now I need to do me. This is important. Okay, you got to do me. What type of witch am I? Or you didn't.
Starting point is 01:22:19 You know what I mean. I know what you mean. What am I most naturally drawn to? I'm going to say I'm more naturally drawn to You know what? I like experimental spells. Which of these feels closest to you? I don't want to connect my ancestors.
Starting point is 01:22:44 I don't need their judginess. I'm not really curious about crossing between worlds. I don't really care about the Fafoke, although I got a friend clearly who's one of them. I see magic as most. mostly symbolic or psychological? Yeah, that's probably me. All right.
Starting point is 01:23:02 Where does magic feel strongest to you? Oh, for me? I would imagine under the night sky. Crendor, you listen to what I chose. You listened to what I picked, right? How on earth did my selections equal? You are a chaos witch. How does it know me so well?
Starting point is 01:23:27 It knows. I mean, you are a chaos witch. It literally is like you are flexible, with magic systems and you can adapt quickly and produce results without relying on one tradition. Chaos Witch is often experiment and their techniques are borrowed from multiple sources. Your strength comes from testing what works and refining your own approach over time. Sure. All right. Yeah. Chaos Witch. Yeah, that's like some shit or someone to just be like, I'm trying to craft these spells.
Starting point is 01:23:55 It's just not working and they're just like, you need a chaos witch. What's so funny is they have these, they have symbols. Right? Where it's like types of witches, there's an elemental witch, traditional witch, green witch. I thought I was going to get like a green witch or something. Kitchen witch, cosmic witch, lunar witch, divination witch, an eclectic witch, even a hedge witch, which honestly I kind of love the idea of being a hedge witch. But then there's an augury witch and a hereditary witch and a crystal witch and sea and hearth and death and gray. Ooh, I like gray witch.
Starting point is 01:24:31 That's kind of cool. Yeah. There's even a secular witch. But then the chaos witch, I just want you to look at this image. The chaos witch is literally the chaos symbol from 40K. It literally is. Like I've never, it got me. It was like, we know who you are, Jesse.
Starting point is 01:24:50 We know who you are. Nailed me. All right. Great. Yeah. I mean, I'm definitely, I mean, if anything, I'd be the green witch. Because I'm living in the woods and with like the fairies and shit. fairies, I guess because he selected that one thing that said Faye and it was like, that's it
Starting point is 01:25:05 he flagged it, so he's a fairy guy. I'd be like kind of like that mixed with Radagas, the Brown, I think. I've always said you were a Radigas. You're definitely a Radigas and I'm definitely a Saruman. Yeah. I'd just be like the creatures, they change the way they move during the day. The squirrels used to go east. That's all I do all the time.
Starting point is 01:25:27 Like stop calling for war. It's like, it's what I do. So here you go, that's our witches. All right, what is our big new story of the day? Big news story of the day, day, day. We actually have two. One's an update, not an old one. Okay.
Starting point is 01:25:50 So do you remember the story from, I don't know, and maybe like a year ago or something, where a Florida man was accused of stealing a Smokey the Bear sign? I do remember this. Yes. We looked up the sign and everything. Yeah. And Smokey the Bear was like that, like when he was getting arrested, being like, hey, we got him.
Starting point is 01:26:09 Yep, yeah. Smokey the Bear giving the thumbs up. Good stuff. Well, he could now face up to 10 years in prison. Dude, that's so funny. What's crazy is the sign he stole. Literally, you can go and buy that on Etsy. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:26:27 I'm looking at it right now. The man is going to jail. Like you can literally actually The sign he stole is $40 on usda.gov. Yeah. And he tried to sell him. I guess it was literally a year ago in 2025 July.
Starting point is 01:26:47 Facebook marketplace for 1900 each. But yeah. That's so crazy. Like literally you can go buy it. That's nuts. So yeah, he could. face up to 10 years in prison now. So that was...
Starting point is 01:27:03 But anyway, enough for the update. We now have the Australian Air Conditioning Pro crowned world's loudest person. Huh? That's right. In Melbourne, Australia, Joseph McGrail Batap,
Starting point is 01:27:20 an Australian professional air conditioner cleaner and honorary town crier has been recognized as the world's loudest person. The Guinness World Records last week acknowledged the 58-year-old Canberra resident recorded the loudest ever shout by an individual, yelling at, or he yelled now at a 122.4 decibel level. What? How? What?
Starting point is 01:27:47 That broke the previous record of 121.7 decibels set by Northern Ireland schoolteacher Annalisa Flanagan in 1994. where she yelled an ear piercing quiet. That's so loud. I don't. That's, you know, there's times when filming Scary Game Squad that Davis screams,
Starting point is 01:28:10 and it's such a loud scream, it hurts my ears. Yeah. This is louder than that by a significant amount. Yeah, like taking a look at the decibel levels, it says that 198 decibels is enough to kill a human. and would the shockwave would rupture your brain. 182 decibels is the loudest speaker ever,
Starting point is 01:28:35 which is enough to shatter car windscreens nearby. 180 decibels is an aircraft that takeoff. Like, this is insane. That's, now you understand why I was like, huh? Because it doesn't seem like it could be. Like, wouldn't he hurt himself? Well, let's see.
Starting point is 01:28:55 This is at 120,000. 22.4. It's about slightly less than the Vuvuzela. And they got plenty of those. I guess you're right. Trumpets 115. So I mean, I guess if you're like standing right next to it, it's
Starting point is 01:29:14 pretty bad. Does it right in your ear? It probably would be bad. It wouldn't instantly kill you though, but it'd be bad. I mean, you die at 198. So I mean, you're still a while off there. Let's see, because looking baby crying is
Starting point is 01:29:30 110. And that's annoying. So like, yeah, I don't want, I don't want that. And I definitely don't want, 122. That sounds crazy.
Starting point is 01:29:39 Yeah, that's crazy. So that broke the preview. I read that. That is a noise range of a chainsaw jet aircraft taking off ambulance siren in a close range.
Starting point is 01:29:51 Which is crazy. Because 1994 was the previous records. It's been a long time. The record of Temple was not something McGrail Baitup could train for, he said. There's no way you can actually practice for it. You've got to keep it for the day, especially with the world record attempt.
Starting point is 01:30:07 It took me seven attempts just for one word, which was the word now, and my voice was shot for the next couple of days. It was husky. It was terrible. So, no, you can't really practice for it, but it's a lot of fun when you're doing it, he added. I mean, I guess you get the rage out. That's for sure. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:30:25 McGrail Baitup considered himself the world's loudest man, rather than the world's loudest person, he said there was no previous record for the loudest man. I'm pleased that she, Flanagan, gets to keep her record, so she's still the loudest woman in the world, and I'm the loudest male. That's very nice. Yeah, that's nice.
Starting point is 01:30:43 He said he stumbled upon Flanagan's record when searching Guinness World Records unsuccessfully for feats in the realm of town crying. He became competitively loud when he was appointed the official town crier of the
Starting point is 01:30:57 National Capital Canberra in 2017. He became competitively loud, which is such a crazy phrase. Yeah, it's like the hot dog man, competitively loud. Competitively loud, yeah. He makes announcements at community events, school feeds, and car shows.
Starting point is 01:31:16 With the job came membership of the ancient and honorable guild of Australian town criers. Yo, that's kind of awesome. Ancient and honorable. He won the 2024 guild competition with the loudest Oyez, Oyes, Oyes, OYZ
Starting point is 01:31:36 Hover the Australians. Ozy, Ozzy, Ozy! One of those? I think it's got to be one of those. Maybe they just spell it weird. Maybe. It was a command for silence and attention before an Australian town crier makes a proclamation. Oh.
Starting point is 01:31:53 He experimented with several words before settling on now. His shout was recorded May 2nd in a Can Barrow Radio Studio by a professional acoustic engineer and witnesses present. The files were then sent to the Guinness World Records. It's the second time McGrail Bait up broke a world record. In 29, he broke a speed record for an archer shooting 10 arrows. What? Do you ever just think about how some dudes, their whole thing is, I just want to break records?
Starting point is 01:32:27 I think it's just, it got to break records. Yeah, like, it's so interesting to me that there are just some people where it's like a broke one record. What's another record I can break? And it becomes like their thing. Yeah. That's like such a weird other one to have. You'd think it'd be something related to this, but it's just archer shooting arrows.
Starting point is 01:32:48 I genuinely think some people go through the Guinness Book of World Records and they're like, the last time this was done was 1926. Alright, I'll give it a shot. I think so, actually. Well, it says nine months later, a seven-year-old boy shattered that record by 11.4 seconds. McGrill Baitup wasn't interested in attempting to regain the archery record or in keeping his shouting record, saying,
Starting point is 01:33:13 if someone beats me, that's fantastic. Records are meant to be broken. Yeah, I mean, yes, but also crazy, that'd be like, someone beat me shouting. Cool. Yeah, that's actually insane. But there we go. That's our big news stories of the day.
