Starting point is 00:00:00 Today's episode is brought to by HeroForge. HeroForge has got those awesome custom minis to take to your next game and show off. We all know that's half the fun, let's be honest. Let's jump to this podcast. Everybody, it's time for Ghost and Trend Dog. In front of morning. In the morning. Broadcastle live, live, live, live, live.
Starting point is 00:00:25 In 4-hour reporting studio. Recorded. Wake your ass up. up, grendor in the morning. Hello, everybody, one of the second episode of Cax and Crenor in the morning. Hello, yes. It was like a, it was like a confused frog. People do say I am a confused frog quite frequently.
Starting point is 00:00:54 You know what? I've heard that specifically about you. Yeah, no, quite a lot. Like, that guy's a confused frog. And you know what I am? I mean, more of a confused, like, skink lizard guy, but yes. That's true. I guess you could, oh, I don't know, there's different tendencies. What's up?
Starting point is 00:01:14 How you doing? What's going on? How's your life? What's cracking? I don't know what else I can say. So many questions, yeah. And all mean the same thing. Everything, yeah, everything's good.
Starting point is 00:01:24 I am almost entirely moved out of the office. Oh, so you've done it. You're done moving out? Not yet. I have all the art and stuff still up on the walls. I see. And the back room, all the sound stuff is still up because we're doing one last recording tomorrow, which is our big last shoot day.
Starting point is 00:01:46 And then I'm done. And then I'm going to spend the next two weeks until we have to be out by August, just slowly moving stuff out every day. So that'll be my task. I thought you already were moving stuff out. Right now there is nothing there except stuff on the wall. camera equipment and the I'm about to say foam but curtains the sound curtains and so that's up and those will just take a little bit of like the sound curtains I have to unscrew stuff from the ceiling which is a whole endeavor all the art and the walls are just going to there's a lot of it so it's just going to take you know I can only fit so much in my car so it's going to be back and forth and back and forth so that'll take some time and then I have to do the normal stuff I'm gonna do daily.
Starting point is 00:02:33 So, you know, you know how it is. Oh, yeah, I know that would be. So I've got to, you know, I got that. And then I got to paint. I got to repaint stuff on the walls because one of the walls is this orange, just funky orange color. And I, I can't just, you know,
Starting point is 00:02:47 do the, the, boy, you can tell I don't fix houses. I, like, spackle the walls. You know, so I got to, I got a process. And so I, thankfully I have two weeks to get that all done. So I'm not too stressed. Yeah, well, that's good.
Starting point is 00:03:03 I mean, this is, I feel like this has been a long time coming now, because you keep being like, we're going to move out, we're going to move out, now you're actually doing it. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I mean, most of it's gone. The team took most of their stuff home, so they'll just be working from home for any, you know,
Starting point is 00:03:20 for the foreseeable future, and so will I, I guess. I'm trying to get this room a little more soundproofy and funk it up. And yeah, so far, so good. You know, I hate moving, but thankfully this hasn't been that big of a process. Although I will say my living room in my apartment is a complete shit show. It was more of one. And then before we recorded this, I was messing around in there and trying to figure out what I needed to keep and what I didn't.
Starting point is 00:03:52 Like I have on my desk right now, I'm looking at it. I have 1, 2, 3, 4, 8 USB C chords. Why have so many? I don't know. Yeah, I think I do that too. You just keep getting cords. I mean, I always keep them. You know, some of them are USB 3 to USBC.
Starting point is 00:04:15 And I'm like, you know, I got to keep these. But that's also because we have so many damn drives. Oh, yeah. Especially when you do this, you just accumulate computer things. I have so much, yeah. And it's been a process of trying to figure out what I need to keep and what I don't. Like I went through one box and I had, I'm going to say, no less than 20 H-DMI cords. Oh my God.
Starting point is 00:04:36 I know. It was just one of those things where at the office we would get something or we'd have to, you know, buy a thing. And then it'd be like, well, it came with a USB, okay. And then we just put it, or not USB, H-DMI, and we put it in the box. Ah, yeah, I see. And it was labeled H-D-M-I. And so we always had some if we needed them. But like, now that we don't have an office, I'm like, what am I going to do with all these?
Starting point is 00:04:59 I feel stupid throwing them out. How long have you had that office for? 2020. Oh, wow. This is a COVID office. Yeah, I got it on the cheap in 2020. And when no one else wanted it, and I was like, yes. So at least it felt like I could get out.
Starting point is 00:05:13 You know what I mean? Like I would drive from my home to the office. And it felt like, you know, screw COVID. I got this. And it's been a treat. I've loved having the office. But it also is getting too expensive now. Like I said, I got it on the cheap.
Starting point is 00:05:25 And now that it's no longer cheap, I don't need it anymore. Yeah. I feel like all the people that work for you are also like, nice. I can work from home. Yeah, yeah, I bet they feel that way. And I'm fine with that. I was like, you know, instead of me looking over your shoulder and being like, hey, when's that done?
Starting point is 00:05:44 I'm literally, it's going to be like, I need it by this day. Yeah. And I don't care when you work on it. If you do it the night before, just do it right. No, exactly. as long as you get it done that's all that matters yeah yep
Starting point is 00:05:56 and that's where I'm at I'm like okay I don't care how you do it as long as it's done and you send it to me in the time frame that I'm asking then we're good
Starting point is 00:06:03 so that's kind of what's going on with me over there I will say dude remember how I mentioned that part of the reason I want to move is because those
Starting point is 00:06:11 the other podcast I don't want to start beef with those guys but I'm sure the hosts are very nice I don't know anything about them I don't think I've ever even seen them.
Starting point is 00:06:23 But the office manager, the guy who runs their office, Supreme Dick, I go to pool in the parking lot the other day and in front of me is this giant, you know those like bigger than normal vans, the vans that are just massive? Oh yeah. So there was a gray one in front of me and I was waiting for it to turn in. But instead of it turning in, they pulled a little forward and then reversed in. So they're reversing into the parking area and I'm like, what the, what? So I watch them do this.
Starting point is 00:06:59 I'm patiently waiting there. I'm like, all right, man, whatever. Just do what you do. But instead of opening the gate, he pulls into the initial driveway area and stops. The gate's still closed. I'm like, what is this guy, what does this guy do it? Maybe a minute goes by. A car is behind me now.
Starting point is 00:07:20 and I am waiting to turn left, but I'm also, because of where I'm at, blocking the driveway for an apartment complex. So the guy behind me is trying to get into the apartment complex, I can't go anywhere because this dude is like blocking in front of me and I need to go left and he's blocking where left is. So he waits there and then the door, the giant side door to this fan opens
Starting point is 00:07:42 and like five dude bros come out with cameras. They all got big cameras. They all look like, uh, I don't know, guys who would make a video where they prank people, you know what I mean? Like that vibe. Like the people go to streamer university. Yes, yes, yes. And so they all, by the way, I've been watching that.
Starting point is 00:08:03 That's, I have thoughts. But so they absolutely like just get out and start talking, like joking with each other. And I'm just like, are you kidding me? Like, do you not see that there's more cars behind me now? So I'm just sitting there. They go to the gate and they punch in a bunch of numbers doesn't work. They punch in more numbers doesn't work. I'm like, oh my God.
Starting point is 00:08:28 Surely someone will open the door for them. Surely if they got like a guy in there. Eventually the gate opens and the guys walk in. But the car is still there. So finally I just honk my horn. I'm like, come on, move, please. Honk it again. This guy looks at me like I'm the problem.
Starting point is 00:08:48 eventually he starts backing up not like leaving backing up into the parking space like into the parking lot and I'm like what so I go to turn in literally just so I can get out of the way of all these people behind me who are clearly pissed so I turn in now I'm stuck in the sort of entrance
Starting point is 00:09:09 way where the gate is and this gate will just close on your ass and so I'm like please move I don't want the gate to hit my car please dude he just looks at me like I'm a crazy person and finally I just like
Starting point is 00:09:24 in anger put my hand on the horn and just blow like I'm like I'm not gonna take my hand off just move dude I'm so pissed at you the guy who manages the office comes out looks at me like I'm trying to start a fight
Starting point is 00:09:38 then like looks at the driver and he's like I can see his mouth he's like is this guy giving you a hard time and the driver's like nah he's nothing and then they dab each other and I'm like I don't
Starting point is 00:09:50 I don't care about you or any of this I'm not even trying to start a fight I just would like to park you guys are blocking the park finally after I mouth the I just want to park at them the dude moves
Starting point is 00:10:04 and then I park and they both as they get out of my car like give me this mean mug like I'm gonna fight them and I just looked at them and just grabbed my stuff and just walked in I was like I don't
Starting point is 00:10:16 I don't know what your deal is I don't know why you guys are so agro, but you're so unbelievably inconsiderate the group of you. And I'm positive. It's because of their association to fame. Because they hang out with famous guys who literally Will Ferrell was on with them recently. So, like, they have famous people show up at the office. Like, I get it.
Starting point is 00:10:40 They have a proximity to fame, and they think they're important. But you're, like, I don't care. Just move out of the way so I can put. part my car, dude. Like, I just don't care. And it made me so mad. I was like, I'm not going to say anything. I'm not going to get in an instigate thing.
Starting point is 00:10:57 But I would just like to park. And then I want to go inside and I want to get work done. That's it. That's all I want. And you all are holding me up. And that's, yeah, that was the vibe. Like, those are those guys. They all suck.
Starting point is 00:11:10 The dude who runs the office can kiss my whole ass. He has been nothing but like an egotistical prick. I do not like. like that guy. Yeah, that is, that's pretty bad. That's, yeah. I mean, really, that's like I mentioned, it's pretty much every big content creator person.
Starting point is 00:11:30 Well, not all of them, but, you know, many of them. I mean, it wasn't even, like, it's, it's not even the content creators. This is like when David Dobrick had an office near us, and he had like, I'm going to say, 12 people in the office as editors, air quote, but I only ever saw one. person working at any given time.
Starting point is 00:11:49 That was the one time this like girl like let her dog wander around the halls taking dumps everywhere. And I was like, no, no, no. And she was like, sorry. I was like, no, I don't. They were all like, you know, 20. And it was probably their first job, but they were like, we're hanging out. I was like, I don't, I literally don't care what you do.
Starting point is 00:12:12 Just don't let your dog crap all over the place where everyone walks. Which is insane. That's the thing. That's what it is. I think I've discovered that most people who are like the face of a thing are pretty decent, but it's all the hangers on, man, can kiss my whole ass. Like, I just, holy crap, I'm so over it. Like, I've met a lot of really great celebrities.
Starting point is 00:12:43 And almost all of them have had. intolerable like wing people. Ah, yeah. Except, except. Well, I can't say except because when Snoop Dog showed up at Maker Studios way back when, his uncle, who was there making food was a cool ass dude. I hung out with him, had a great time. But I can't say Snoop had a cool, like, entourage because the entourage that did form was
Starting point is 00:13:16 all the maker people who literally told me I couldn't go in the studio because Snoop was in there. Yeah, he's too famous for you. Yes, absolutely. That's what they were saying. It's like that time
Starting point is 00:13:29 you and I were at the Xbox booth at E3 and they told us to leave because Kanye West was coming to play Cuphead. And we were like, well, let's play with him. And they're like, no, you will not be allowed. This guy is much bigger than both of you.
Starting point is 00:13:46 It's that vibe where I'm positive that I think that's kind of the Hollywood thing is a lot of agents and managers are like, let me be the bad guy, you know? So then the celebrities get to like be nice to everyone. But I think them being the bad guy means they think they're like the person. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:14:05 They're that person who's just like, all right guys, like we got some, we got an important person coming through. So if you can just like step aside, you know, that. Yes. Yes. And that's kind of the vibe with a lot of the office right now is a lot of the new people moving in are like bigger studio stuff.
Starting point is 00:14:24 And they all have an attitude. And it's it's, you know what? I'm fine leaving. I'm fine not dealing with them, to be honest. Yeah. If anything, it sounds refreshing. Yes. I'm excited to, I'm going to like Crendor in my life.
Starting point is 00:14:39 I'm going to get up. I'm going to go for a walk in the morning. I'm going to like, you know, get a coffee. do a whole thing, then come work, and then like work out. I got like a whole plan. I'm going to crendor it up. Crendor era. You're ready.
Starting point is 00:14:54 Start doing some tendon, isometric holds for your tendons. I will not be doing that, but like, yeah, okay. Well, you won't be doing that until you hurt your tendons. I'm going to try not to hurt my tendons. Like I said before, the one time I had foot pain, I wanted to die. So it's fine. I don't want that anymore. I don't want, I need to walk.
Starting point is 00:15:14 I need it. and I don't think anyone wants pain that they get. Okay, all right, okay then. But I'm just saying, if it just happens, you're like, oh, I got a little tendonitis in here. You can be like, what do I do? And you'd be like, oh, Crendor told me isometric holds. And I'll remember that.
Starting point is 00:15:30 And then I'll ask, I'll ask Google what the hell an isometric hold is. Well, an isometric hold is where you do an exercise, but you hold it. It's like instead of doing a squat over and over, you do a squat and you just hold the squat for like 30 seconds. That's a hold. So like a wall sit... Basically, like, becoming an old Japanese man. Exactly.
Starting point is 00:15:50 That's what I'm trying to do. I still think about there is... Oh, man, what is that movie? It's like a... Maybe it's a Scorsese film or something. It's basically the story of a bunch of, I think, Jesuit missionaries in Japan. And it's like a fine movie.
Starting point is 00:16:07 It's whatever. But there's an actor. I assume he's a Japanese character actor because he was phenomenal. but is this older man and every time he was on scene his character's like thing he would do
Starting point is 00:16:19 is he would squat and then as time went on he'd just sink into the squat and every time he'd go and it was amazing I just kept I keep thinking about him where he'd just like
Starting point is 00:16:32 he'd have a power pose but then he'd just go and like deflate into the power it was great I'd think about that guy all the time I mean, yeah, that's part of the reason is like a lot of people over there, especially, that's why it's called the Asian squat a lot of the times. Sure.
Starting point is 00:16:49 They just do that. And so it just, it's good for you. And then if you get older and you don't do that and you try to do it, your body's like, what the hell are we doing? Moral being, remember, isometrics. I remember. I'll remember the moral. Yes, I got you.
Starting point is 00:17:05 You said you're watching the streamer university. Yeah. Yeah, it's interesting to watch, like, the idea of saying, hey, we're going to have a bunch of people here with a bunch of celebrity streamers. It seems to me like the fact that those, not all of them, but some of them took the opportunity to be giant assholes to get attention, shouldn't be shocking to anyone. The fact that there's a bunch of them literally going out of their way to be dicks and like do shock things. or I've got one dude who was trying to like shit talk Ludwig while he was teaching them and then he just snapped at him
Starting point is 00:17:45 like yeah of course they're going to do that because a lot of streaming now or online stuff is about how much attention can you grab yeah good or bud right and so like of course it's gonna happen watching the people in charge react with like I didn't know it would be like this
Starting point is 00:18:03 is pretty funny especially considering and I tweeted this I was like one of the things I learned as a teacher being young I was 24 when I was teaching 18 year olds they did not see me as a teacher they saw me as one of them trying to boss them around and it took so long for me to crack that and that was tough and I think that's the same thing here
Starting point is 00:18:28 is you have a bunch of streamers who are barely older than the people attending their streamer university and they're demanding respect and half of them are purposefully not giving them respect and the other half are like okay, I mean, whatever, you know?
Starting point is 00:18:46 Yeah, it's well, it's even worse because now you're with this type of thing, it's not even like an actual school, it's like, you know. No, there's no, there's no punishment. Like, what's, what's gonna happen? They're not gonna get expelled, you know? Yeah, although, I mean, they do get expelled,
Starting point is 00:19:02 like, oh no, they probably, like all those people who get banned from Twitch, they're the expelled person who, so now they have numbers. You know what I mean? Yeah. So it's like there's the incentive to do that type of thing and be like, yo, I'm being crazy and now people know who I am. Right?
Starting point is 00:19:17 So it's, and I mean, this type of thing, it's essentially just, it's not even at school, it's just like a narcissistic gathering. Like, that's really all it is. Everyone just being like, I'm the best, pay attention to me. No, I'm the best. Pay attention to me. And it's like, it's the whole point of this is
Starting point is 00:19:34 to like learn how to be streamer. Isn't that the whole like premise? Yeah, I think there's sort of a problem when Kai and everyone involved with setting this up chooses people as well.
Starting point is 00:19:50 They didn't choose people that probably could use the help. They chose people that were fun like interviews or whatever. They had like a good reel that got them interested in them.
Starting point is 00:20:05 And so, you know, that's part of it is those people who got picked, probably the reason they're picked are the reasons they're acting the way they are at Streamer University. Yeah. No, it definitely is. Honestly, it's like reality shows. Like they pick the people they pick for a reason. Yeah. And that's what's sad is that the most interesting part of it is those people being ridiculous.
Starting point is 00:20:30 Because everything else that's happening at Streamer University is, you know, advice and tips and stuff that you don't need to go to stream university to figure out. Yeah. Yeah, like you can learn all this on your own. And it's, you know, it's not the most difficult stuff to figure out. Like once you get into the intricacies of all this stuff, like it can get pretty intense. But like for the most part, you don't really have to do that unless you're already doing it for a living.
Starting point is 00:21:02 Yeah. And like Ludwig showing how much money. he makes doing X, Y, and Z is interesting, but that doesn't really translate to anyone there because he is of the top 0.001% of streamers. So, you know, him getting brand deals in the X number of 100,000s of dollars is 100% not going to translate to these people. Yeah, absolutely not. Like, the only person that will translate to is probably, you know, like Kai himself.
Starting point is 00:21:33 Yeah. Yeah. Everyone else who's the thing that I like is that they said Twitch is a bad place to get discovered. Yeah, which is. The problem is saying that is the reason why everyone there is acting a fool. Yeah. So they can then be discovered by being on a thing that Kai and Ludwig and all these people are doing. So it's like, you know, it's a double-edged sword. Yeah, you're going to have content and, you know, the people running this are getting views. but also everyone there is going to act crazy because they're young and they're around other people that are their peers and they're getting clicked up. Like there was already a video about how like
Starting point is 00:22:13 the really high viewership count people have grouped together and then like the mid-tier people group together and then the bottom people just don't know where to go because like everyone's sort of forcing them to be together but they like want to, you know, collaborate with some of the other people but they can't, you know, like that kind of stuff. It's, I mean it makes sense.
Starting point is 00:22:32 sense because usually you're going to collaborate with people around the same level as you. But that's, I think that'll ties into like having diversity within the system you've created, which again, clearly it's they did this more for like the viewership and making money than actually educating people on how to do this. Yeah, I would love to know the stats of previous streamer university. Like what happened to the person who came out of that? I think out of all the people there. Ludwig pulled it up.
Starting point is 00:23:02 And it was like 40% Like lost viewership after a month Or like 80% Oh, I did I didn't click the video But I didn't see a thing that said Ludwig explains what happens after they leave Yeah
Starting point is 00:23:15 And it was like 10% Don't even stream again Yeah But like yeah It's tough And I think yeah Everyone expects This is their big moment
Starting point is 00:23:26 Like you know If you go on a reality TV show People expect this is gonna be the thing It's gonna pay the bills The rest of my life And it's like no dude that's that's not true. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:23:34 It's definitely one of those things where people see it. And they're like, oh, I can do that. This is easy. You talk to a camera. You play a game. But it's like once you start doing it, then you really, especially when you start doing it for months. It's like, it's funny, it's anything where you can do it for a few weeks or days and be like, oh, yeah. But it's like, all right, now do that for months.
Starting point is 00:23:53 Now do it for years. You're like, oh, this is taxing. Like, you know, it's not taxing the same way when you work in the coal mines, as I always. put out there, but it's still mentally taxing. I mean, that's the problem when, you know, I'm now out, I consider bottom money on two video games that would have featured very popular online personalities, right?
Starting point is 00:24:18 And both of those, the reason why they both died, and this is the lesson I've learned, because I was like, you know, fool me once, you know, shame on you, fool me twice, I don't get fooled again, you know? I yeah the lesson I learned is that in both cases I also tweeted this out a little bit when extra Emily this week was like you know I didn't get my car license thing renewed and I
Starting point is 00:24:47 yeah most streamers most online personalities only care about the one thing they care about and that's it and they hyper focus on it and in the case of the two games I was trying to make both times one just said I can't do it I want to focus on my content creation and I was like you wouldn't be doing anything we'll be doing all the work all you have to do is just like record maybe an hour of footage
Starting point is 00:25:10 like that's it and it's like nope sorry can't do it's like all right cool well I guess when I'm the only person out money then that's fine for you and then the second one dude just ghosted uh we started making a thing everything started coming together
Starting point is 00:25:24 and then I pushed back and I said okay we're making a horror game but it appears like for this horror game it's not that scary we need to change some assets and make it a little scarier right and then once I said that nothing
Starting point is 00:25:39 dude just stopped responding completely fell apart because he was the lynchpin uh this is I'm like I have learned that unless I know and trust a content creator I will never work with another one on a I could lose money level
Starting point is 00:25:57 If you want me to come on your podcast, whatever, fine. But I'm not going to invest anything that involves me losing money on someone ever again, unless they're like the best friend I have. And even then I've learned lessons not to do that. Yeah, that's true. Even then, it's just really like when it boils down to it, the main person you can trust is yourself with most of the things that you do. Because like, I mean, that's even what I do.
Starting point is 00:26:26 That's why I don't hire any YouTube editors or anything like that. People are like, you can have an editor. And I'm like, dude, I'm not going to do that. Like, number one, I've been editing my videos since like 2009. And I'm not doing anything crazy. So like, I'll give a shit. Number two, I think it adds like to the style when you know the actual creators editing something, depending on what you're doing, I guess.
Starting point is 00:26:46 If you're just like throwing clips together and like whatever. But like, you know, for my type of thing where I'm doing like my own top tens and, you know, weird goofy videos like that. It's like, I think it adds another element where you're like, oh, he's actually editing it himself. Oh, oh, speaking, speaking of editing. So I wanted to bring up the fact that last time, before we had our little break there for the holiday, last time I mentioned the fact that I wanted to do the hot dog intro but for the live show. And I was like, well, what if I do AI? I asked all the listeners
Starting point is 00:27:25 They were like Get Bent Cox, we hate you I was like okay Noted Noted But I did see a fantastic idea And I love it And I think we should do it
Starting point is 00:27:36 I'm not sure how we put it together But the idea I was given Was Fans submit one sentence to add to the intro Oh that is pretty good That's pretty good So each person So it's like
Starting point is 00:27:51 Ford from the Shards of Fong and angels. That's like one thing. Yeah. And then like, you know, touched by the glass of incantation. I don't know. What the fuck? But like those kinds of things, that's what we would collect. And then I'd have someone go through them and create a thing for us with them. Because I don't want to hear it. I don't want to know what it is.
Starting point is 00:28:15 Yeah, I like that. That is good. And I think that'd be fun. Yeah. It's got the fun, like, fan element in there, too. Yes. And I feel. like maybe, for the sake of ease, since I know a lot of people listen to us are on YouTube, if you just go to the YouTube page for this episode, even if you're listening on a podcast service right now or whatever, go to the Cox and Crendor podcast YouTube page and click on this episode, which I think is 513, and then just leave one line for us, one ridiculous over-the-top line
Starting point is 00:28:48 to describe us. Yeah, put it in the comments. And then I will send someone from the office to go there and just collect them all and create a thing for us. No, that's a good idea. I like that. Yeah. Yeah. And then I can probably get Octo or someone to do the voiceover.
Starting point is 00:29:06 And then we'll play that with the music before we come up. Oh, yeah. That would be fun. I would love that. Yeah. Okay. So that's resolved. Everyone who was like, Jesse, if you use AI, I will find you and break your legs.
Starting point is 00:29:19 Look, I get it. I was asking. I was asking if it was a fun idea and you said no you said get bent loser and so here we are it's true they did say that they did I got a lot of angry comments they were like I will never listen to you again
Starting point is 00:29:35 I was like damn they will break your legs I was just asking because I wasn't see this is why you need group creativity sometimes I didn't even think of the idea of having y'all pick out random ones and give it to us than assembling it.
Starting point is 00:29:53 I didn't think I didn't want to give you homework. Now you have it. So there you go. Yeah. Look at that. Yeah, that's a good idea. Did you, what did you, yeah, what did you get up to this week? What did I get up to this week? Well, today is my birthday. Happy birthday.
Starting point is 00:30:12 Yes, thank you. So we, uh, my family came over and we barbecued. That was fun. Uh, but yesterday. we went out and had wine and charcutory and good foods. That was also fun. So it's kind of like birthday weekend, if you will. I've always said you party like a 20-year-old Southern sorority girl.
Starting point is 00:30:38 Yeah, it was fun. I've enjoyed it. And, you know, I did some streaming. I was watching McDonald's Australian training videos. They're just like put the buns on the machine. and toast him. Make him nice and toasty. Bring him out.
Starting point is 00:30:55 Then he'd be like, thank you, Lisa. Put it on a rack. Thank you, Lisa. Yeah. Yeah, so I was watching, though, because pretty much every year for my birthday, I've been watching training videos. I don't know why.
Starting point is 00:31:07 That's just been my thing. Do you stream it? Is that your thing? So, like, I just stream my stuff. I think I'll get, like, a lot of subs on my birthday or people be like, happy birthday. So I made a Garfield birthday badge, which is just Garfield and a hat.
Starting point is 00:31:21 And a lot of people are subbing for that new things. So it's like a nice background type of thing to do where you don't have to fully pay attention while doing that. But at the same time, it's kind of fun because it's not a normal thing you do. It's like you're watching these weird-ass training videos. And they're all like, even I watched those,
Starting point is 00:31:41 but we also watch like Hardys. And there's like a couple other ones. They always got that like uncanny happiness. And they're always like, make sure that you are paying attention to their. customer with a big smile and making them feel welcome like their family. And it's like, I love the fact that they're like make them feel like their family, but it's like they know that they're not family.
Starting point is 00:32:03 But they're just like, I feel like that's the best way a corporate person could convince someone to be nice. Does that make any sense? Like saying be nice to them isn't descriptive enough. So saying treat them like your family at least, I guess like even the most baby-brained person can understand. Yeah. Unless your family's a mess, in which case, don't.
Starting point is 00:32:27 That's true. Yeah. Treat them like you would if you had a good family, I think is what we should be saying. Yeah. But I always love even in those shitty corporate things where they'll be like, and here's the McDonald's manager. And it's like she's walking around, like she's on the front lines of a war,
Starting point is 00:32:42 being like micromanaging everything. And then they're like, my company's just not doing as well as they should be. And they're just like, well, let's figure out what's wrong as we pay you, like $19 an hour. Like, bro, I don't give it shit. We're just working at McDonald's. Who cares? Yeah, my manager when I worked at McDonald's was
Starting point is 00:33:01 a blast. She was incredible, but she also was always on drugs. I mean, I would be too. She was always high. Yeah, but she was a delight and yeah, oh my God, she was like, I think about this all the time because she
Starting point is 00:33:19 really was like, Like, she was in the trenches. She was like that manager who if something would happen, she'd be like, oh, I'll just fix it. Because she couldn't trust anyone to do it. And I always think about that because that's how I am sometimes when it comes to work. I'm like, I'll just do it. And she, like, if the ice cream machine broke, instead of being like someone fix it, because you'd usually have to call out to someone.
Starting point is 00:33:43 And if you're wondering why McDonald's takes so long to fix their ice cream machines, it's because it's not, there's no one in house who can fix it. Right. So she eventually just learned and was like, yeah, all right. And she would like get under it and above it. And she'd like tinker with all the things. She's like, I'm not calling for anybody. So she was in there.
Starting point is 00:34:01 She would like change the fry oil. She was a champ. But also she was on drugs the entire time. That's probably why. So really, McDonald's just needs to supply drugs to their employees. I'm just saying it would have made everything so much more fun. Although, to be honest, most of the time people were on drugs. That's true.
Starting point is 00:34:23 Like, to get an example of, so even when I worked in college at a fast food place, that taco place I worked at, it's so funny because no one wants to be there. Like, maybe a few managers are thinking about, like, owning one one day, and so they're saving up, they're trying to rise to the ranks or whatever. But most people don't want to be there. And I keep thinking about the fact that there was at the taco place. of that there was one girl who was there and she was saving up money working at a taco place so she could get breast implants
Starting point is 00:34:57 to go become a stripper. Oh my God. And she did. She got her boob job and she went off to go become a stripper and I was like all right, you know? Get your money, girl, but it's just a wild thing that that's
Starting point is 00:35:13 a trajectory she had for herself. That is a pretty wild trajectory. She was like, I know what I want and it's not to be here, which is agreed, but that's because I need the cash to go get a boob job to go become a stripper. And I was like, then what? Then what after that? I don't think there was no plan after that. That was it. That was her plan. That was it. That was her end goal. You know what? I respect it. I respect being like, and that's it done. And I'm done. Yeah. No, that's definitely a goal.
Starting point is 00:35:44 Honestly, I've never had such a short goal. All my goals are like multi-tiered. I wish I had a goal that was like, and then I do this and I'm done. And that's it. And I've achieved everything I want. Yeah. Yeah, I don't think I've had that either. I'm always like, I got to write a book. I got to grow my YouTube.
Starting point is 00:36:00 I got to do this. Like, I'm always thinking of other things I could do. I don't think I could ever just be like, yeah, I'll just do this. And I'm done. That's crazy. Yeah. So, you know, I always, I will say, fast food was some of the craziest job I worked. and overnight grocery stocking was pretty crazy too
Starting point is 00:36:21 why is that because it was like the weirdest dudes it was all guys and they were all the weirdest dudes who ever lived but like they were chill they were cool but they like were out there to give you any indication
Starting point is 00:36:36 it's because of working that overnight shift that I started listening to coast to coast a.m. This was like 2001 maybe so because of that because those are the guys, that type of guy. Well, they were like, you know, the other night, I was out in the woods. I saw, I think, I think it was a demon.
Starting point is 00:36:58 I'm like, really? He's like, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. So I started smoking with them. I'm like, okay. So it's just people like Mathis. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. And so, I wasn't very good at stocking shelves. Like, stocking shelves is you have to like,
Starting point is 00:37:14 you got to just rip open, boxes, slam stuff on the show. I would try to make it look presentable, and they would yell at me. They'd be like, don't, don't do that. Just get it on a shelf. I'm like, but all the labels have to be facing the fronter. People won't know what they're getting. They're like, just get it on the shelf. Okay.
Starting point is 00:37:30 Yeah. Honestly, that was one of my problems when I would work at retail places. I'd be like, this method we're doing just seems like inferior. We should do like a different thing. Like, that's the way we do it. And I'm like, dude, this sucks. Like, why are we doing it? But then at the same time, I'm like, don't care, right?
Starting point is 00:37:48 But then you're like, well, I don't even want to work here, which nobody does. So that's just more motivation to, you know, do something else, which again, that's why everybody wants to do this type of thing as their job because then they can kind of do what they want, essentially. The problem is, much like we talked about earlier, nobody really knows why they want to do this usually. Normally they're just like, you like YouTube and Twitch. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:38:14 They're just like, I want to get big and make money on it. It's like, all right, what are you going to do? And they're like, I don't know, just be me. It's like, uh, okay. Like, you need ideas. Yeah, that's, I think the problem is that a lot of the people that became big, became big because of who they are. And all the ideas and all the background work and stuff
Starting point is 00:38:36 doesn't necessarily present itself as being something people will notice or pick up on. So there's all these things that most of the top streamers are doing. and most people just don't see that. They only see them like being goofy and making the video, you know. Yeah, they don't see them like with, you know, looking at all their analytics or figuring out thumbnails or looking at watch time stuff or when people stop watching or doing all their sponsorship shit.
Starting point is 00:39:06 Yeah. Like there's a, it's a whole process. There's a whole back end and it's a lot of work. It's not what I would consider the hardest of work, but it's a lot. You are working all the time. Yeah. And it's like what I always said
Starting point is 00:39:22 where it's like once you're in it, it's not as bad. But once you're, when you're trying to get there, that's like probably going to be the hardest part. But I'd say the hardest parts are trying to make it and then once you've done it
Starting point is 00:39:35 for a long time as well. Those are kind of the two. But, you know, that's the way it is. That's the name of the game. That's the way. the cookie crumbles. That's the metaphor.
Starting point is 00:39:50 Yep, that's the metaphor. That's the metaphor. But, you know, it's better than all those things. Hero Forge! We talk about Hero Forge all the time on the show, and they've been a sponsor for a while, and you know what? It's for good
Starting point is 00:40:07 reason. If you got a tabletop campaign coming up, or you want to roll into your current one with a new cool figure of your character, HeroForge is the one-stop custom shop for you, offering fully customizable tabletop miniatures with dozens of fantasy species and thousands of parts to choose from, all within your browser. Plus, they come with a variety of materials including color plastic, acrylic, standees, bronze, and downloadable files for 3D printing at home if that's your jam.
Starting point is 00:40:41 With a constantly expanding catalog of customization options and add a new parts every week and major features like new species and custom posing, it's a great way to bring something special to your next game night. Plus, if you really fall in love with it, I would advise 100% just go check it out. Go play around. Go create a thing. You can get weird. You can make like a little, you know, demon duck like I've done, or a city goblin, like a goblin who's like, I'm from this city. I've made all sorts of goofy things over there. Go check it out. And if you love it, they have a pro subscription that grants access to kit bashing, a photo booth, community library, and much more.
Starting point is 00:41:25 Plus, then you can store your ideas in folders for certain campaigns or just kind of like keep track of what you made in the past and when you made it. And you get access to early drops. Then you can share stuff with other people and people can see your things. And it all starts at $3.99 a month. So go mess around with the site. Check it out. Have some fun. It's all in browser.
Starting point is 00:41:44 and it's super, super silly to just make whatever the hell is on your mind. And if you want to pull the trigger and then buy it, by all means, use code Crendor for 5% off. Again, that's used code Crendor to get 5% off all orders of physical miniatures, not combinable with any other sales or promotions.
Starting point is 00:42:05 All right, let's go to Chappas and some of the guy the Grendor and there. Oh, man, let me tell you, it's still bad. People still going on summer trips, people still doing all that stuff. It'll probably start comments. down in a little bit, but as right now, man, it's not great.
Starting point is 00:42:18 Also, uh, did you fix your computer? I didn't even know. I was going to ask that. It seems like it's fixed, but I have no idea. Thank you. Yes, I did get it fixed. So I had my old editor, David, shout to David, uh, come over and check. So what was happening?
Starting point is 00:42:35 And this is so weird. Um, you know, we thought we fixed it a little bit at the office. We like move some ram around. We like, you know, went in and, When I got it home, plugged it in, turned it on again, something was wrong. Like something, again, it got really hot. My CPU was just 96 degrees Celsius, dude. Mama me, wow.
Starting point is 00:43:00 Yeah, something was wrong. So I then turned it off, turned it back on again, ran another test. Everything's fine. I'm like, what is going on? So turns out. that upon further investigation, my cooler for my CPU was sometimes working, sometimes not.
Starting point is 00:43:25 Ah. And the reason behind it, I have no clue. I guess it was just dead, like slowly dying or whatever. So sometimes, like, you give it a little nudge, and it was one of those ones that had, like, the liquid cooling that goes up into the fans.
Starting point is 00:43:39 And I guess one channel was not moving. So basically if you felt the two tubes One was scorching hot and one was cold Ah, I see And then sometimes the cold would like I guess get in it a little bit And then everything would work And sometimes it wouldn't
Starting point is 00:43:55 So we discovered that You know sometimes I'd run a test and it would work And sometimes I run a test and it wouldn't work So we just replaced the whole thing And we got one of those giant Naktua Instead of like a cool, you know Liquid thing We just bought the big Naktua fan
Starting point is 00:44:10 That I've always used really in the past and put that bad boy on. And this thing, instead of being 96 degrees Celsius, we ran one of those like CPU stress test things. And even at the highest setting, with every single bit of my processor running, it was like maybe 40 degrees Celsius. Yeah, that's quite a difference.
Starting point is 00:44:35 Yeah, the minute we turned it off, the temperature dropped dramatically too. So like, yeah, it was just a dead. cooling unit. Damn. And I would have figured that out earlier had the test showed me, but sometimes the test would say it was fine and sometimes it wouldn't. So I was just like, well, that's weird.
Starting point is 00:44:52 Yeah, so it's one of those things where whenever you'd check it, it was like kind of working, but then when you'd stop checking it, it probably was like 90 degrees. Yeah, even the, like the fans attached to it working too. So the fans were on, but for some reason the pumping system would just shut off sometimes. Yeah, I see. Which is, I don't know how I would be able to tell that without having like an actual guy who is an actual like computer genius come in and be like, here's the problem. I was like, oh, okay. Dude, thanks to David, big plays.
Starting point is 00:45:25 Yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. David, it continues the tradition of people that work for me going off and finding the job of their dreams. Everyone, everyone who has worked for me and left has gone to better things. And I'm glad to be that thing they can look back on and be like, it was all right. It wasn't that great. Oh, yeah, that guy. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:45:47 Literally, like, Kristen works at Riot now and travels the world and, like, gets to hang out with celebrities and stuff. David works for the company that, like, basically all the screens and things you see at, like, baseball games and NFL, that's them. Oh, my gosh. And that man's got stock. So he's doing great. The one editor I had who literally went off to go, like, live in Bermuda with dolphins. What? Yes, I'm telling you, dude.
Starting point is 00:46:19 Dan, just people. Dan works at a manga. Yeah, Dan now, Dan's now a real-ass animator. I'm telling you, like, everyone that works for me does better after it. Like, oh, okay, cool, cool. Maybe I need to work for you. Because working with you's not going too good. We need to be going to fix that.
Starting point is 00:46:36 Yeah, yeah, yeah. It's so funny to me that everyone who's ever had a job for me is like, all right, well, now I'm going to just go off and live my life and here I am just like, I make videos on the internet. My computer's too hot. Yeah. What's really funny is every time too when one of them mentions, like, people like, oh, you work for a YouTuber. Who did you work for? They all say Jesse Cox. And the response every time is who?
Starting point is 00:46:59 So that's where I am. I mean, I've heard people when they mention you, like with other stories. streamer friends or whatever. They're always like, oh, that guy like works a lot in the industry. I've heard, that's what I've heard a lot about you with. You know what? I like that. That's great.
Starting point is 00:47:14 I'll take it. I'll take that. Yeah. They never mentioned this podcast, though. So that's always kind of weird. Yeah. Yeah. People rarely mention the things like, you know, unless you're in it, unless you know who I am and
Starting point is 00:47:29 you follow along. Yeah. It's, it always, it reminds me again of, uh, when I was at the movies with, my mom and after the movie was over this wonderful kid came up to me and I said kid but he was like you know young adult and he's like are you Jesse Cox my mom was like blown away
Starting point is 00:47:48 she's like what the hell but I thought it was funnier because it wasn't that he I mean maybe he was interested but he literally went to go get his dad and his dad was excited and I was like that's my audience right there that's my people that's my people I still always love when we were at that the fogo whatever
Starting point is 00:48:06 And then those people came up to us. They were like, dude, it's Crendor. They were talking to me. Like, we love Cox and Crendor. They just left, and they never acknowledged you once. That sounds correct. You were just like, what? Because it's one thing, if they're just like, oh, we like your wow videos or whatever.
Starting point is 00:48:21 But they were like, we love the Cox and Crenndor podcast. But they just didn't talk to you. That's, you know, that's fine. I like awkwardly sitting there. It's one of the few things I really enjoy. Just kind of awkwardly looking around. That's good. At least you got to enjoy it.
Starting point is 00:48:36 Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah. Um, that's the traffic. All right, let's go to weather. We've got weather requests for many places, but we have landed on... Weather request, Ayr, Scotland. I'm going up there on a work trip next week. I'd love to know what I'm heading into. Well, I guess they're already there.
Starting point is 00:49:01 Air Scotland? Like AYR. Like AYR? Yeah, AYR. So I guess they know how the weather it is, or whether it is, I guess they know how the weather is, but let's find out how it currently is. Air Scotland. 58 degrees Fahrenheit, high of 72, low 55, chance of rain 3%. Currently 84% humidity. That's a lot of humidity. 2.53. Sunrise 504 a.m. sunset 9.44 p.m. pressure 30.35 inches, 10 miles visibility.
Starting point is 00:49:35 27 on the air quality. That's way better than here. UV index zero feels like 56, 9 mile an hour, west northwest winds with a waxing crescent moon phase. The 10 day. The 10 day. Tonight, partly cloudy. Monday, partly cloudy, 608 degrees. Tuesday, 67 degrees with mostly sun.
Starting point is 00:50:01 Wednesday, partly cloudy, 68. Thursday, partly cloudy, 65. Friday. 40, Saturday light rain 63, Sunday a.m. showers 63, Monday a.m. shower 63 and Tuesday a.m. showers 65. And then it's going to be raining
Starting point is 00:50:15 in the 60s. So honestly, it's pretty nice. I just want to say, for the record, the air, I'm not sure how we're even saying this. The river air has I saw a place called Pebble Beach and I was like, Pebble Beach, what the?
Starting point is 00:50:34 It literally is just the bank of a river covered in pebbles, which is amazing. And then they also have like the stepping stones and so they're just more pebbles. I mean, it's great. It makes sense. Name stuff after what it is. Yeah, yeah, it isn't like Pebble Beach that we have in the U.S., which is just like it's a beach. Honestly, that's kind of like, well, actually, I think it's probably named that because
Starting point is 00:50:58 of Scotland immigrants probably came over here and they're just like, we'll call it Pebble Beach. That's usually the case. I also want to give a shout out to some of the amazing names of restaurants like Mr. Bazra's World Cuisine and Spud Buds. Dude, Spud Buds. And I assume it's Sassini's or Kekinis Italian restaurant. Maybe it's Kachinis. Probably.
Starting point is 00:51:24 There's the smoking goat bar and grill. There's three idiots. Come on. This is, this is, I am loving the names of places in this town. These are some really good names. I like these a lot. The twa dugs? I don't know what that means and I want to go there.
Starting point is 00:51:41 Yeah, let's see. You got strips and dips. The fat pizza. There you go. That's a good one, too. That's it. You know what? One thing I learned from like doing writing or fantasy writing specifically,
Starting point is 00:51:53 people always try to make crazy names for their shit. They'll be like, it's the city of Zohakhando in the western Yakdong Peninsula. And it's just like, I mean, realistically, people are just like, oh yeah, that's like, North Green Hill. Because it's like, well, why's the name that? It's like, there's Green Hills. It's like, oh, that's Rocky Beach. Why is he called that?
Starting point is 00:52:15 It's Rocky Beach. That's pretty rocky. That's old Rocky Beach. Now we got New Rocky Beach. Like, it's all just old England. We've got New England. Is this place, hold on. There's a place, well, there's a place called they bake.
Starting point is 00:52:29 They bake, period. That's the name of the, I assume it's a bakery. It is. But there's also. places that are just like wind days. I assume that means we windows. Wee win days. It's a pub. I love
Starting point is 00:52:46 the things that are named here. This place rules. This place does rule. Let us eat. I'm kind of obsessed with spud buds. Like, they have a potato that has chili on it and the chili looks really good. And part of me is like, I want a potato.
Starting point is 00:53:03 I want spud buds. Yeah. Yeah. Honestly, this place. I'm going to have to make an effort to get a potato, like make a baked potato this week and then put like chili or something on it. Like that's my plan. I can make that at home. I don't need to go out for that. That does sound pretty good.
Starting point is 00:53:18 Yeah. Now I'm like, oh, there's the drunken coup. What the heck? The drunken cue? Oh, it's a steakhouse? Yo! Well, that's dangerous. There's a video from Johnny Hollywood, too.
Starting point is 00:53:37 and it is the steak that they have here this it is a wood it's a wood tablet plate something like it's a wood I don't even know like cutting board I guess and on it are two different types of big thick steak fries
Starting point is 00:53:56 onion rings appears to be mushrooms tomatoes three different sauces and then like the cut up giant ass steak it looks delicious oh man There's another version of it where this person instead of two different types of potatoes, they have mac and cheese and that mac and cheese. Yo, oh no, this looks delicious.
Starting point is 00:54:15 Everything I'm seeing here looks so good. Yeah, I didn't expect this place to be that good with food. I mean, wow. Yeah, I'm really, for like a pretty small town. Impressive. Yeah, it's like a small town. It's kind of, it's in Scotland, but it's kind of bordering UK, like with England. I wonder how, like, disqualifying.
Starting point is 00:54:37 distance wise, how far would it be to Glasgow? Because it appears there's an airport there as well. Oh, yeah. So. It seems like you just take the old, uh, just take the old M77 right down. Right near, I mean, yeah, I'm just trying to figure out like, I'm just going to, I'm just going to look it up. Yeah, I guess you could just look it up. 45 minutes.
Starting point is 00:55:03 Oh, yeah. That's not bad at all. That's not bad. That's not bad at all. That's considering it takes me. like an hour and a half to get from Heathrow to downtown London every time I come to England. That's not bad at all. Yeah, no, that's actually, yeah, wow.
Starting point is 00:55:20 I mean, I- So technically you could live there and then go into Glasgow. Yeah. Or Edinburgh is close by too, technically. What is that? Probably another hour, so, you know. You're going to cross the whole piece of lane. Yeah, that's very true.
Starting point is 00:55:36 Honestly, it seems like a. pretty chill place. I'm going to let you know to our lovely listener. You have options. Yeah. I mean, I think I always forget how these places are just as big as states for the most part. It's a lot of times you think like, oh yeah, there's all the states and stuff. You forget like these countries over here literally as big as states is wild. Yeah, it is, it is jarring. But honestly, I like that. It's the same thing as like when you're in the eastern part of the United States. States, you can go between states really quickly. Like, people live
Starting point is 00:56:13 in Pennsylvania and work in New York City. You know what I mean? And then when you hit the West Coast, in the middle of America, everything just becomes much more stretched out and bigger. And so, you end up with, like, people, you can drive from one end of Texas to the next end and still, like, 10 hours later, still be in Texas. Yeah. Like, that's too much. That's too big.
Starting point is 00:56:34 Yeah, no, Texas is a big-ass state. I mean, that's like, yeah, bigger than Germany. I mean, it's like the time Dodger and I went from London to, uh, Belgium to go to the,
Starting point is 00:56:48 the Balders Gate 3 event. And we, I was like, oh, I've never taken the channel. This would be great. I'd love to do this. So we got on the train and we went into this like,
Starting point is 00:56:58 what I thought was like a dark, I'm going to say cave. You know what I mean? Like, it was, I'm going to say 10 seconds. And I thought, we were just leaving London.
Starting point is 00:57:09 I did not realize. Because when we came out of that dark, you know, 10 second bit, I was, I thought we were still in the countryside of the UK. It wasn't until I noticed a sign was in French. Should I realize we were in France on our way to Belgium?
Starting point is 00:57:24 That's insane. That's how fast it went. Like that, I think the total trip took less than two hours. And that was, and that was, we went underwater and we had to like do a chain. to a different train.
Starting point is 00:57:39 Like, it was not. And then, oh, then we had to walk to the hotel still. And it still took only under two hours. Like, that's crazy. That is crazy. That's also, I still think it's crazy. They made that, like, under the water or whatever it is. Yeah, I've watched way too many videos now on how they did that.
Starting point is 00:58:00 And it's fascinating. But, like, yeah, no, people died doing that. Oh, yeah. Absolutely. Like that was people died Yeah anything that's insane They're like wow the pyramids and all that It's just like yeah people died making those
Starting point is 00:58:14 Mm-hmm Yep Actually zooming out now I forgot that a Turkey's actually not called turkey Like I guess the real name is like Turkey Or something like that Yeah it's interesting when you hear people
Starting point is 00:58:28 pronounce it Because I've definitely heard people In the news Uh call it you know, Turkey or Turkey or Turkey, you know, like that or whatever. Same thing like when it comes to Ukraine, there's Kiev and Kiev and, you know, that kind of thing. I mean, that's like people say Illinois instead of Illinois. Yeah, I think it's, you know, I mean, hell, we call it Japan and that's not really the name of it.
Starting point is 00:58:57 What is it? Nippon? Oh, yeah, it's true. Yeah, I guess, you know, it just depends if you're from there, know what you're talking about, all that type of stuff. But it's interesting, because I always, you grow up and you learn like, that's turkey. And you go, okay. And then I was like, wait, what happened? And then you realize like, oh, that's what it's actually called.
Starting point is 00:59:23 So, yeah. It's not like the bird. Who would have guessed? Where am I? Oh, yeah, that's the weather. All right. Let's go to sports. It's finally over.
Starting point is 00:59:36 Sports, it is finally over. Spain was victorious. And honestly, Spain deserved to win. They're definitely the better team. Argentina didn't even have any shots on goal, like the whole game. It's pretty insane. I will admit I'm a little disappointed because that guy who made the prediction of what would happen in the future, all of his predictions were contingent on Argentina winning. So rip future predictions.
Starting point is 01:00:04 Sorry. Once again, some guy was just making stuff up. Who would have thought? Who would have guessed? Then he just happened to be right for most of it. Yeah. So yeah, that is over now. Then we have baseball,
Starting point is 01:00:20 where we just had the All-Star game, and the Tampa Bay Rays are in first. The White Sox are in first. The Rangers are in first. The Braves are in first. The Brewers are in first. And the Dodgers are in first. And then, let's see.
Starting point is 01:00:37 I mean, we got NFL football in a couple weeks. Got the Hall of Fame game coming up. Can't wait for that. And actually, the Hall of Fame game usually sucks. But it's more so the thing of like, football's back. That's the fun part. And then we, I think the NBA Summer League is currently going on. I watch some of that with the Bulls.
Starting point is 01:00:57 It's not good. It's really not good basketball. It's not worth watching. And then hockey. is also not doing anything. We're kind of in that point of the year where there's not a lot of sports stuff going on actually.
Starting point is 01:01:14 So the World Cup actually helped with that. But that is sports. All right. What is our fact of the day? Fact of the day. Fact of the day.
Starting point is 01:01:28 In Thailand, there's an annual monkey buffet festival where residents of Lopbury, leave 4.5 tons of fruit, veggies, and other treats to honor the approximately 3,000 monkeys that live near the Fra Prang Sam Yacht Temple. Way better than Coachella IMO, says this BuzzFeed thing. So, um, yeah, but look at these monkeys. Look at them. Hold on. Hold on. I'm trying. I'm trying. Yes. Yo, these guys. look like how I want to live.
Starting point is 01:02:06 There's living the dream. Honest to God, if, like, basically it's a photo of monkeys and then just a plethora of vegetables and things and fruits. Yeah. And they're just living their life, man. Yeah. No, they got grapes, they got bananas,
Starting point is 01:02:22 they got a whole bunch of stuff all about. Yeah, mangoes, they got pineapples. Yeah. I want to know how monkey tackles a pineapple. Also, for those who are curious, this is just like laid out. out. The fruit is displayed. Yeah, it's like fully displayed.
Starting point is 01:02:39 I'm honestly, no one's ever done that for me. I've never had just fruit displayed for my edible pleasure. That's all he wants. I've had close to it. I've had chakouterie things, but never had like, you know, basically this is an edible arrangement for these guys. Yeah, it actually actually is. I'd say it's better than an edible arrangement. This is like an edible.
Starting point is 01:02:58 Yes, you're correct. This is a buffet arrangement. It was like a full on. I've never seen a buffet look this good. Yeah. Like it looks delicious. Which by the way, I keep getting TikToks of this guy that's like eating Chinese food until I get food poisoning from Chinese buffets. And he just goes to all these Chinese buffets and he tries all the food there.
Starting point is 01:03:18 And some of it just looks really bad. And I guess he hasn't gotten food poisoning yet. Or at least he hasn't said that he had. Which is surprising. I mean, by law, if it's like in, you know, in a buffet situation, they have to heat it to a certain temperature. So you're not going to get any kind of sickness that way. Well, even then, if it's out for too long, you can still get sick.
Starting point is 01:03:44 Sure, sure, sure. But there's, you know, you would not stay open as a buffet long enough if that's the case. Well, yeah. But, I mean, some of the things he's looking at it. Like, there's... Here's my question. Where does he go, though? He goes all over.
Starting point is 01:03:56 Like, you're saying it doesn't get sick. But, like, okay, if you go to, like, the New York City buffet, somewhere, you're probably fine. Or you go to one and go to one in like, Wichita. No, that's what he's been doing. He finds the one star Yelp ones. Oh shit. Okay, never mind.
Starting point is 01:04:14 I'm back in. I like this. He goes all over. He kind of has like an Alex vibe to him. Like he's got that like kind of blonde, wavy hair. He's just like, let's just go, man. Let's fucking go. Like he's got that vibe like that weird kind of chill guy that just wants to do something crazy. And that's what he does. He goes there. apparently his girlfriend
Starting point is 01:04:32 films it and then he's just like let's take a look at this and it's like egg drop soup and it was like jelly and he's just like yeah I don't think it's supposed to do that it's like we gotta try it
Starting point is 01:04:44 yeah it's a lot of it is I mean like most Chinese buffets I think are really funny mostly because they have to have stuff not for people who like Chinese food so you'll go to a China buffet and then it'll just have like
Starting point is 01:04:58 tater tots you're like what the hell Yeah, it is It is weird I can't do it I'd rather just go to like a hole in the wall Chinese place and get like a lunch special No, I'd rather do that too
Starting point is 01:05:10 I'm honestly I don't like buffets in general It's just I don't know I will say Most of them are like Meh But there was when I went to During an Evo one year Where it was like
Starting point is 01:05:24 In the bowels of Not a casino But a nearby hope hotel. And it was one of those things were like instead of it just being you know like food in a tray and then you pick from it each dish was its own little thing. So you would get like
Starting point is 01:05:42 you know like Davis was obsessed with these little donuts and so you would get like it would come on a little plate and there'd be three little tiny baby donuts on that plate by itself right? Or there was like a little like a I'm trying to think like an egg thing that I liked which was it was like its own little frying pan you know what I mean? Like every single thing there was its own little dish
Starting point is 01:06:03 and you would just take the dish. And that, it was delicious. That might have been the best food I've eaten in a long time. But it was sort of out of the way and like this little secret spot. I knew it was a secret spot because when we were there, all the like Harada and like all the dudes who like are the minds behind all the fighting games that were at Evo
Starting point is 01:06:24 literally were there with us at the time we were eating. They like walked in and all sat down and we were like, oh, it was that kind of spot. So I feel like we discovered the off the strip cool place. And yeah, most things are just you walk up and there's like a dude who's like, how much meat do you want? And you're like, I don't know.
Starting point is 01:06:44 You know? But this place was like there's little, everything's its own little dish. Probably not the most cost effective way to serve that food, but I don't think that was their concern, which I liked. I liked that everything was its own little thing. And instead of getting a plate
Starting point is 01:06:59 and then you put stuff on the plate, you would just get a tray and then put little things on the tray of separate plates, which I loved. That is really nice. It was cool. That's the type of buffet I would want to go to, but there's probably very few of those. Like that's like a Vegas type of thing. It was, man, what that place was incredible.
Starting point is 01:07:16 I wish I could remember what that place was. Yeah, I don't know. I remember my friend from Vegas was showing me a crazy buffet, but I don't know if it would be that one, but he showed me some crazy one. He's like, now this is a buffet. It did look really good. So I mean, Vegas is probably the place where I would eat buffets.
Starting point is 01:07:33 But not like the shitty ones. Like some crazy one. So yeah, that's fact of the day. I remember where I am. That's the fact of the day. Those monkeys made us talk about the face. Oh, yeah, the monkeys. That's right.
Starting point is 01:07:50 Okay, there we go. That's your fact of the day. All right. Well, let's look at those souls who have come to us with tears in their eyes. Here we go. We've got tears. Oop. Dear illustrious sirs, I come in me with tears of my eyes and a megazord in shambles. Rita Repulsa has sent out a new monster and I am in desperate need of replacements.
Starting point is 01:08:14 What animal would your zord be and what limb of the megazard would it be? Oh man. Like I wanted to be something cool like the head, but I know I'd be a foot. You know what I mean? I'd be like one of the leg pieces. Yeah, I I'd probably be like the left arm Or something
Starting point is 01:08:33 And I might Like I want to be cool I want to be like a good one But I know that I know I wouldn't Yeah That's Yeah I'd be the left arm But like my fingers wouldn't work
Starting point is 01:08:45 My elbow would like sometimes break I would definitely have some problems going on But Just for like animal Um Oh no What kind of... I mean, sloth is the obvious one
Starting point is 01:09:00 that people are to be like, oh, you'd have a sloth arm, which I think would make sense having a sloth arm and not being that great. Sure. So, I mean, I'd probably go with that. But I think it'd be even funnier
Starting point is 01:09:10 if I had like, like we mentioned earlier, frog energy, if I just had like a frog leg. There was a frog. I don't know if you remember back in the day, there was a frog.
Starting point is 01:09:20 I think it might have been... Yeah, which one was that? Which one was the frog? It was from the movie. Remember? The Power Ranger I'm looking, I can't believe, movie. Oh my God, you're right.
Starting point is 01:09:34 I actually do kind of remember this now. Yeah, I don't remember which one of them had the frog though. Looks like the Black Ranger. The 1995 movie. Frogsword, Black. Adam, the Black Ranger had a frog. Yeah, I see that. Right, they changed everything. There was the Ape Zord, the Wolfzord, the Bear Zord, the Frogsword, the Crayn Zord,
Starting point is 01:09:54 and the Falcon, which is what Tommy got. when he became the white ranger. That's pretty sick. I forgot about those. Yeah, yeah. I would, I want a butterfly. I want a little butterfly,
Starting point is 01:10:05 Zord. That's pretty good. I like that. Which means I can't be the leg because it's not stable. I have to be the piece. You know how at the very end, it was always the pink ranger.
Starting point is 01:10:13 She would always like attach to the front and it would be like the chest plate. Yeah. That's what the butterfly has to be. Yeah, you'd have to be that. Yep, I'm fine with that. I like that. We'll take it.
Starting point is 01:10:21 Yeah, that's not too bad. There we go. Dear illustrious sirs, I come to you with tears in my eyes, a candlestick in my head, a dead body lying before me in the billiard room. And I ask, if you had to commit a clue-like murder, who would your colorful alias be? What is your weapon of choice, and where is the murder committed? Ooh, um, I would say, now this is a new alias. It's not one of the current ones. Uh, it says, who would be your colorful alias?
Starting point is 01:10:56 Okay, all right I would have to be What is a fun color Like Neon pink Yeah, let's see I guess I would be like Because it has to rhyme
Starting point is 01:11:17 Right Like Professor Plum Well no Miss Scarlet was a different one There's like Colonel Mustard Oh that's tough Maybe there's like a Clue name generator Oh my God, yes
Starting point is 01:11:29 Let's see. Yes, here we go. Here we go. Here we go. I would be, uh, all right. I would be Mr. Mint. Mr. Mint with the decanter stopper.
Starting point is 01:11:51 What? In the cloak room. The cloak room. That all is that? Yep. The room where you put your cloaks. See, this is great. I love the clue generator.
Starting point is 01:12:04 This thing's amazing. Oh, give me the clue generator. Do one for me. All right. I need, for you, I'm going to pick. Let's see. I'm trying to think of who you would be. You could be.
Starting point is 01:12:27 Oh, come on now. Mr. Lyme. Yep. Mr. Lime With the toilet brush In the pool In the pool I was going to say the cellar
Starting point is 01:12:40 Because it's like wine Okay Yeah Mr. Lime With the toilet brush In the wine cellar There we go A lot of questions about that one Yeah, that's mine
Starting point is 01:12:50 That's a good one I like that another option Was Chief Avocado Which is hilarious Chief Avocado Chief Avocado With the crossbow in the servants quarters.
Starting point is 01:13:01 Oh my god, dude cross. Okay, never mind, I'd have the crossbow. There's also um, Sir Meadowbrook with the diving knife diving in the aquarium. Diving? What the hell's a diving knife?
Starting point is 01:13:18 A knife for diving. I got that. That is not how to use it. Corporal Rust. Corporal Rust. Corporal Rust with with the painkill in the media room.
Starting point is 01:13:32 That sounds like some backroom shit. It really does. There's General Tomato with the feather boa in the smoking room. That's another good one. These are good. Yeah, there's a lot of name.
Starting point is 01:13:50 There's a lot of like clue generators out there or Cludeau for those overseas. Honestly, I think Corporal Rust should be added to our arsenal of characters. Corporal Rusty. He's just like decaying. He's me, Corporal Rust. Yeah, he's out there testing everyone for low T right now.
Starting point is 01:14:09 Yeah. I need to see if they're injecting you with the testosterone. Yeah. Everyone needs to just get those T numbers up. You're going to rust away like Corporal Rust. Actually, different guy. Actually, it's a... These weirdos and beardos
Starting point is 01:14:31 need to start taking tea. That's, uh, yep. And that's the dead deer illustrious serves. All right. What is our big new story of the day? Big new story of the day, day, day, day.
Starting point is 01:14:50 Um, this is one that a lot of people are talking about and it's very big. Uh, who is Jimithy? Why a Seattle raccoon has gone viral. He's small. He's round. He's viral. A raccoon with a short spine or short spine syndrome named Jimothy has been spotted roaming Seattle's Ballard neighborhood. Neighbors have posted videos of the miniature mammal online which have since amassed millions of views.
Starting point is 01:15:21 Whether he's scurrying across streets or sneaking around someone's backyard, the public can't seem to get enough Jimpathy. What makes him so special? Jimithy appears to have a spine deformity, giving him significantly smaller torso compared to most raccoons. The raccoon likely has a rare condition called short spine syndrome, which compresses the vertebrain makes it appears if he has no neck. Despite his unconditional appearance, uh, or unconventional appearance, Jimothy appears to be thriving in his local habitat and doesn't seem to be letting the deformity affect his day-to-day activities. He's also got like legs that seem way too big for his body. He does. He's got like, he's just like a little, he kind of looks like a squig from Warhammer.
Starting point is 01:15:58 And he has no tail. Yeah, and he doesn't know. So he's like, he just looks like a, like a, like a ball with a face and legs. It's wild. He genuinely looks like a squig. Um, where is Jimothy? Jimothy appears to be centered around Seattle's Ballard neighborhood with cell phone and home security video capturing him in neighborhoods. It's unknown which area Jimothy seems to frequent the most, especially with many flooding, uh, or with many flooding in trying to capture videos of the viral.
Starting point is 01:16:23 That's what I'm saying. That's the disappointing thing to me is like, Jimothy live in his life. and now internet people are trying to go there and like take a photo of him and that's only going to scare him off. Yeah. Let him live his life. Yeah. Let him live his life.
Starting point is 01:16:38 Or worse, some assholes are going to try and like take Jimothy home as a pet or something. Yeah, like Cap trim or something. That's what I thought. Or like credit. I don't know. Like I just want him to be able to run around and have a good time. Right? Yeah, he looks like he's doing great.
Starting point is 01:16:51 Let him live his life. Yeah, let Jimithy live, man. Let him do his thing. Boy, we can't Monkey Mondays this, everyone. We can't ruin this. Let him do his thing. If anything, we need to make Jimothy a buffet. And don't allow anyone within 100-yard radius.
Starting point is 01:17:07 Just let him have his buffet. Yeah, just get yourself a nice trash can full of random food and leave it out for Jimothy. And then that's it. Yeah, that's it. I hope that Jimothy continues to do well and not have crazy people impact his life. Yeah, I just saw the other day. People were making fan art. And it's so cute and funny.
Starting point is 01:17:27 and I love it. And they don't ruin. He is basically a modern-day cryptid. Let him live. He's like our big foot, except he's real. Let him live. Yeah, exactly. He's like our big foot.
Starting point is 01:17:39 Let him live. So there we go. Just Jimothy having fun is our big new story of the day. And we love Jimithy. And wherever you're at, Jim, don't let the haters keep you down, bud. Don't let the haters keep you down. Keep on scouting for trash. Yeah, he's probably got like, his family probably, there's video of him when he's younger,
Starting point is 01:18:06 and I'm letting you know, like, he still looks the same. Yeah, just slightly bigger. It's like a smaller little ball, but it's wild looking. Yeah. And there you go. That's your big new story of the day. All right. Well, that's it for us.
