Starting point is 00:00:00 Today's episode is brought you by Factor. Factor's got those good meals delivered right to your home. Now let's jump to this podcast. Everybody, it's time for Cosent Red Dog. Let me see Trendorm in the morning. In the morning. Broadcastle live, live, live, live, live. Before our recording studio, recording. Hit me, wake your ass up.
Starting point is 00:00:26 It's up. It's up. Trending in the morning. Oh, really 17th, the episode of Gax and Crendor in the morning. Woo! Can I just say, but... Yeah. Well, I've been working out lately.
Starting point is 00:00:43 I've been watching you react to my... Too old for these videos. Yep. Too old for this. Almost too old for this. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And I realize... That you can't say melody.
Starting point is 00:01:01 That I can't say melody. Yeah. And not only did you roast me so much, but it made me realize that there are just words I simply cannot say. Like in the, or there are words that I won't mistake. Like I will in my head hear a thing and then another word will come out. Well, it's the mistake sounded fine. I mean, I meant to say mistake. That sounds fine to me.
Starting point is 00:01:29 See, you're freaking me out. That was none. No, there are words that I will mistake in my head is one thing, and it will come out some other way. Oh, I thought you're saying you say mistake incorrectly. No, see, this is C. Now you got me thinking I'm in the same person. Well, I mean, okay, when you say melody, it's because you say it sounded like you just said it fine. So it must be like a subconscious thing.
Starting point is 00:01:52 I'm telling you, I don't know what was going on. Obviously, I can say melody. I can say it. But for some reason, and this, and every so often you pick up on it, I will say a thing and then run with it. Like, it's just the way you say a thing. I won't question it. I'll say it five times and then that'll be the end of the video.
Starting point is 00:02:12 And I don't know if it's because I'm in entertainer mode and I'm trying to make a video and so I just go because I'm reacting and so I'm on full react mode. Or if there's some neurological problem and I'm actually a crazy person. Like, I don't know. And when I sit there and I watch you, I cannot stress it enough. I was physically cringing while working out watching you react to me and be like, this guy can't even say melody. I was like, oh, God. I mean, the part of the reason is I also say words wrong all the time.
Starting point is 00:02:57 So I think I'm also just, I think it's funny when people say words. wrong because I say them wrong, but I enjoy sometimes when I say words wrong. Like for example, I say scarecrow. Sure, it's like when, um, what's his face? Cumberbatch would say penguin. Yeah, like, sometimes you just say things really, like, and in my mind it makes sense, I'm like, scare a crow, because I'm like, you're scaring a crow. But people are like, it's scarecrow. Or I say, uh, architecture.
Starting point is 00:03:25 Okay, that was awesome. That was great. The texture of architecting. I get it. Yeah. And I think, honestly, I think architecture sounds better than like, it does.
Starting point is 00:03:37 It feels like a, like a mishmash of words that I actually like. Yeah. Yeah. I don't, I don't know why. It's clearly melody, but I was saying medley.
Starting point is 00:03:49 And in my mind, I heard melody. And even there's a moment where you can see it in the video. After I say it, I have this sort of like look in my eye, where I'm clearly thinking, I say it correctly there and I just keep going. And I was like, I thought, in my head I was like, well, you must have, Jesse, because you're not an idiot.
Starting point is 00:04:11 Let's, uh, I mean, but with wolf and wolf or whatever, that one you like knew, didn't you? That one's, I think, a regional thing where I just say wolf. Yeah. But I mean wolf. Yeah. I just don't pronounce the L for some reason. But this, this was, I don't think this is regional. I think saying medley, a medley is like a fruit.
Starting point is 00:04:31 Yeah, like this is... That's a full-blown different word. Or, or, yeah, a medley of music, right? Right. But melody is what he was saying. And for some reason, I just kept saying medley. And it was, yeah, I didn't know. What's crazy?
Starting point is 00:04:47 I didn't know. Mari, who edited the video, didn't say anything. It took to you. Yeah. I'm now terrified to go look at the comments of that video because I know they're going to be like, this guy's an idiot. it. So I... Oh yeah, there's...
Starting point is 00:05:02 That's... I'm surprised, yeah, Mari didn't find it while editing. That's what I'm saying. Usually he roasts me. If I screw something up, he'll put it in the video. Like, in that same video, I kept calling it the key of awesome or whatever. And he's like, no, it's the axis of awesome. And I was like, the key of awesome sounds better, to be honest.
Starting point is 00:05:24 Well, I will let you know that the top comment is take a drink every time Jesse says medley instead of melody. God damn it. Cool. Great. Great. I didn't. I absolutely didn't recognize I was doing that. I wonder if you read it as medley.
Starting point is 00:05:43 I don't think so. I mean, it's clearly a melody. Yeah. I don't know what it must be, you know, sometimes when we're on stage or we do a thing and after it's over, it's very clear I blacked out for a full hour. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:05:58 I think that's it. Sometimes I turn the camera on, I go, and whatever comes out of my mouth comes out of my mouth. And I don't stop to think about it. I just try to be as entertaining as possible. And then the camera stops and I shut down. And whatever happened, I don't know. It's what happened. And I think I just assumed I was correct.
Starting point is 00:06:23 But clearly I wasn't. And upon further watch, I was like, oh, God. I it hurt my soul. I was like, oh, that's truly terrible. Yeah, I don't know. I mean, there is some truth to that. Because there's plenty of times I'll be streaming just being like, blah, blah, blah. And then I'll be like, wait, did I clap for that person?
Starting point is 00:06:42 And I'm like, I don't, I'm like, I think I did it in my head. Because I was just, oh, yeah, they resubbed for like 58 months. And I'm like, wait, but I clap. And then I just like have to ask chat, like, did I clap for them? And then people are like, no. And I'm like, ah, geez. So like, sometimes you do just. kind of do that in your head, especially if you're in talk mode where you're just like,
Starting point is 00:07:01 blah, blah, blah. A great example is I was on this, like, they called it ever cold one. The new Final Fantasy 14 expansions, Ever Cold. And I went on a podcast. It was called Ever Cold Ones. We were drinking on the podcast, just talking, right? Right. And while that was going on, like with all things I do, I kind of like just tried to be
Starting point is 00:07:22 entertaining and have fun with friends and just zone out and have a good vibe. needless to say people got drunk on that show like drunk and so when it ended I was like oh I hope I didn't make a fool of myself like oh man
Starting point is 00:07:38 all the comments were like Jesse is the least drunk most coherent out of all of that but I was like I would not have been able to tell you that I would not have been able to say that's what happened sometimes you just
Starting point is 00:07:49 you got to step back and look at it and like in the moment you think something but when you step back and look at it or see other people talking about it like, actually, you know what? Wasn't that bad? Unfortunately, that's my problem with a lot of things, is I will be in the moment, think it's either awesome or terrible, step away and be like,
Starting point is 00:08:07 oh, that's actually what happened. I'll be like, oh, my perception was completely different in this situation. From my perspective, the Jedi are evil. Exactly, exactly, except it would be like if Anakin and Obi-1 were fighting over the lava, the fight ended, they both went home and then sat in their beds like, damn.
Starting point is 00:08:27 That was my friend, dude. That was a crazy night. Yeah. That's a crazy night, man. And then he's like, wait, did I say, like, Seath or Sith? I think I said, I think I said Seath? He's like, got a list. He's like, I did say Seath.
Starting point is 00:08:43 The Sith is going to disown me. I think he choked his girlfriend. That was crazy. That was crazy. And she was pregnant. That's wild. Man. But yeah, that's, you know, you live and you learn.
Starting point is 00:09:01 Medley, melody. I did not learn. All I got out of the end of that was a permanent scar where I will never say melody again, like incorrectly. I will always have to say it correctly. That actually reminds me when I was in school. I spelled a lot together, like a lot. And then the English teacher was like, it is a space lot.
Starting point is 00:09:26 It is a lot. And she had me like write it numerous times and do all that. And I sort of got every time I write a lot, I'm like a space lot. Like my brain just has that ingrained in it. Yes. Yes. And what's crazy? And I mean this English?
Starting point is 00:09:41 It should be A-L-O-T. I think it should be. It really should be. Yeah. There's a lot of words that should be something, but they're not that thing. I understand it. It's very frustrating. I get why a kid would spell it A-L-O-T.
Starting point is 00:09:56 because it sounds like it should be A-L-O-T. According to this thing, it says British people use A-L-O-T altogether. Well, there you go. We were just getting back to our foreign roots.
Starting point is 00:10:10 Yeah. And this random graphic can't be incorrect. It has to be true. It's on the internet. And they're actually English, so technically we're correct. Exactly. Take that, English teachers.
Starting point is 00:10:24 You know what? Sometimes people over-pronounced things and it kind of bothers me. You ever get that? Yes. Specifically, specifically lately when I have to listen to the damn
Starting point is 00:10:39 present and go, affordability every damn time he says it. It drives me crazy. The affordability. It makes me nuts. I know that's not what you mean. That's the first thing I think about lately is him going, affordability.
Starting point is 00:10:55 The way, I'm just like, holy shit, dude. The affordability is terrible. Nobody can afford anything. Mine is, people say button. Because I'm just like, you know, you can like use a button. So I just say like it's a button. They're like buttoned it up. But people go button it up.
Starting point is 00:11:17 And I'm like, why are they saying that? Like button. There's the preciseness of it. It's just, it like takes me out of what they're saying. Because if they're like, yeah, you know, I buttoned it up. They're like, I buttoned it up. I'm like, oh. Like it jumps me.
Starting point is 00:11:30 Again, I can't say anything. I say wolf, so. That's true. You know, it's not my place. This is one of those things where you see someone on Twitter have a hot take and you're like, you are the wrong messenger for this, my friend. That's true. I should not say anything.
Starting point is 00:11:45 I say wolf. Yeah, I say architecture. Plus I mispronounced numerous people's names. There's, in my chat, Hallie Khan. being, all right? I think it's supposed to be like Halcyon being or something. It said Halikon being for
Starting point is 00:12:03 140 something months of them subscribing to the point or like if I said their name correctly, it would be wrong. Sure. Yes. I mean, look, I, when I was a kid, I played Final Fantasy 6 religiously. I love that game. There's a character named Setzer. Until I'm going to
Starting point is 00:12:19 say I was 18, I thought his name was Seltzer. There's no L in there at all. I just kept calling him Seltzer. and Seltzer I think fits way better Way more Seltser's a fun that's a fun name Setser? That's not even a real name Yeah
Starting point is 00:12:35 Exactly It just some Sometimes it feels like it fits better When you say it incorrectly Yes yes Agreed Which is probably why you say it that way There's sometimes where I'm reading something in a game
Starting point is 00:12:51 Like a text heavy game And I'll say a word that just isn't on the screen because my brain's trying to get ahead of the words on the screen. And I'll say it. And I'll realize the word I said fits that moment much better than whatever the hell they wrote. And I'm like, well, that's why my brain is like preparing. It's like, oh, well, this is what it's obviously going to be. And I'll say a word and be like, that's not what that says at all.
Starting point is 00:13:13 No, that's a lot of times people will write that with like scripts or dialogue and you're just like, this doesn't sound natural. I got to say it my own way. And I imagine that's what a lot of actors do. Yeah, yeah. You'll watch actors change scripts and stuff. I like that a lot. But I also, I'm going to give, oh, I'm going to give Dodgers some credit.
Starting point is 00:13:28 I don't like that I'm doing this. But she will from time to time while reading say something completely different from what's actually on the screen. But she doesn't pause or stop. She just goes for it. And it always ends up being better, I think, because she's like, F it. However, as a viewer, I'm like, well, that's not what that said. Is it incorrect? It's like, she can't even read.
Starting point is 00:13:51 But when I play games with her, I realize she's doing it. I'm like, ah, it does sound better. Does sound actually better than what's on the screen. That's a Dodger classic. I don't even know if she knows she's doing it. It's like Melody Medley. She might not even know. Yep, the old melody medley.
Starting point is 00:14:08 Well, but speaking of music, I don't even know, I know you talked about this game on your geekenders. I didn't watch Geekenders, just to forward that point first. But I saw you talked about it. The one that's from Game Freak, The like beast. Beast. Beast of reincarnation.
Starting point is 00:14:25 Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah. Oh, I saw you in chat and you were like, if I had to listen to this song, an entire game, I'd lose my mind. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. That background music drove me insane. And I was like, the game seems all right. Okay, like everything seemed fine.
Starting point is 00:14:38 It was just that background music. I don't know if it's the vocals. I think when you're out in the open world exploring and I just hear vocals, I feel like I'm in a cinematic. And I'm just like, I'm not like a... Did you play near Automata? No.
Starting point is 00:14:51 Okay. It is very very. very, the music sounds very much like you're playing near automata, except that game had like a ton of different tracks. This one, it seems like they made five total songs for this game. I don't, I, it's such a weird game. The game is, the gameplay is awesome. It's so much fun to play. It feels great to play through.
Starting point is 00:15:18 Even as I increased the difficulty while playing, it still felt like, oh, I got this. I like have this down. If you can parry, you are going to be able to play this game and be awesome. But there's some things. They made some changes recently, so I'm not sure exactly what they fixed. But there were some things on launch that made like no sense to me. You couldn't change the font size of the text, but they made it really small.
Starting point is 00:15:40 But they start the game in Japanese. Like in order to get English VO, you have to go to the main menu of the title screen and switch it over. So you don't even get the option when you start. So the game starts you with. Japanese language, but really tiny font for the text. And it's an action game. So you're like, if someone's talking to me and a monster jumps out at me, I'm not going to pay attention to the text on the screen.
Starting point is 00:16:06 I'm going to pay attention to combat. Yeah. in desert when that came out. And all the little problems that were with that game that may know, you know, like with that game, you couldn't pick up multiple things at once. Like if there was five gold coins in the ground and you're like, oh, gold coins, most games would be like you pick them up, you get five coins. This one was like one at a time.
Starting point is 00:16:36 And it's like, why though? That's the, like, I don't understand that. Yeah, it's supposed to be a realistic thing. Yeah, I don't understand when people say we're going to go for realism in a game in a video game that is like, Slay the Goblin King I'm like okay Yeah I don't It's a weird like blend
Starting point is 00:16:56 Because they're like well we have realistic Like elements But then there's so many things that aren't realistic at all So it's like what are we doing here? Yeah it was very strange But you know what's What was more fun Was going to the Renfair
Starting point is 00:17:11 Ah yes You and Gmart went I assume Gmart drove down to you Well, Gmart lives in Wisconsin already. Where exactly? Can we docks Gmart? He's in like the middle of Wisconsin. He's like around somewhere, but pretty much it's like in between both of us.
Starting point is 00:17:33 So we were just like, hey, it was like a thing where we each go like the same distance and arrive at the rent fair. And he's like, yeah, so we just hang out and do whatever. Now, mind you, we actually went to the rent fair already two weeks ago. Oh, oh. Yeah, so I actually have double Renfair stories. Amazing. That one was because, like, more of our friends wanted to go to the Renfair that were visiting. So we were like, all-hmm.
Starting point is 00:17:57 How long does this Renfair run? Is it, like, an all-summer thing? It's like July to Labor Day or, like, the week after Labor Day or something. Okay. So, yeah, it's like a summer thing. And then I think they go to other parts of the country. But I was like, all right, because I was testing my legs. Because my legs are, you know.
Starting point is 00:18:16 They're my legs. I get it. And it was, like, honestly, my legs held up pretty well. I'm happy. I've built up my tolerance. So I'm more for walking. Well, not just walking, but it's like hills, like go like things going sideways. Oh, you're right.
Starting point is 00:18:34 Yeah, yeah, yeah. When I was there with you, it's got like a whole vibe to it. Yeah, okay. So like when you're not hurt, it's kind of whatever. But when you've been going through rehab for nearly a year for your ankles and your hips, It's just like, oh boy. Sure. Here we go.
Starting point is 00:18:49 But I held up and I held up again. Although yesterday it was like a lot of walking and then my legs were a little sore. But they're better today. So I'm building the tolerance. My tendons grow strong. But, okay, stories. So I saw a couple fans actually. That was neat.
Starting point is 00:19:09 That's lovely. Yeah, we had a one dude, he gave me like 20 bucks and he was like, give it to the mudd brothers. I was like, all right. And then he said he's... How on earth do you exist in a world where someone's just like, here, take this money, give it to the Bud Brothers? I don't know. I mean, that's essentially
Starting point is 00:19:27 my Twitch stream, except I take the money. I guess. And then he said he was going to the live show, so we'll see him at the live show. And then there's a couple other people yesterday, and they came up and I was sitting down and they were like, are you Crendor? And I was like, dude, nice. And I was like, yeah, I'm resting
Starting point is 00:19:45 my hips. And they were like, nice. That's really funny. Yeah. I'm resting my hips. So yesterday, I think when we went the other week, it was pirate weekend. There was a lot of pirate people dressed up. And then yesterday was Romanticide weekend.
Starting point is 00:20:04 Oh boy, so there was probably vampires and all sorts of weird shit. It was like a bunch of, it was primarily girls dressed as elves. That was like the main one. Yeah. Yeah, if it was real romanticcy, it would be much more dark and... Yeah, like, yeah, like a little elf girl, but like with a giant minotaur with a huge dong for something. Yeah, yeah, yeah, of course. So any, but here's the thing.
Starting point is 00:20:30 Out of all the costumes, I saw one guy, mid-40s probably, wearing a shirt that said, I'm here for the turkey legs. That guy gets it. Yeah, that guy, that's a hero right there. Yeah. Yep. So saw the mud show Saw Billy
Starting point is 00:20:47 All right And afterwards Still out there doing it too I love that Yeah I was curious Because I was like All right
Starting point is 00:20:53 You know what I'm gonna talk to Billy again And every time I talk to him I'm like hey I'm one of the guys that did the podcast With the animation of you And he's like oh yeah That thing I remember seeing that I was like all right
Starting point is 00:21:05 But I asked him That's like all right Billy Thank you I asked him about his injury history And he's said he's had a spinal fusion. Oh my God. A hip replacement. Uh, and his ankles are starting
Starting point is 00:21:21 to give. Oh, no. And then he was like, yeah, that shit's crazy, man. But like, he's like, you know, after my hip I had to do this and like, I was either hurting walking with a limp or hurting walking without a limb. So I forced myself to walk without a limb because I was like, screw it.
Starting point is 00:21:40 Got to walk normally. I was like, exactly. And then he was just like Yeah, you know, like Some people, their midlife crisis is buying a A convertible. Mine was getting a divorce. I was like, oh,
Starting point is 00:21:57 That's not good. Because I was like, oh, did you're like You have like a wife that was helping you with your surgery and stuff? And he said that. So maybe he did for a while, but I guess not anymore. That is so funny. Yeah. So that was that was the Billy.
Starting point is 00:22:12 thing, but the best part of the mud show this year was the man sitting next to me. So, okay. This guy, so Toaster Woman and her friends, they went off to watch like a different part of the show
Starting point is 00:22:29 and I was like, I'm gonna go see the Mud Brothers. They're like, all right, have fun. So I went alone to the Mud Brothers and I sat next to this man, probably in his early 50s. And he was with his girlfriend who was probably,
Starting point is 00:22:42 in her late 40s. And he was sitting there drinking his beer. He had the coozy or whatever wrapped around it. I forgot out those. I think it's a coozy. The one that, like the, whatever the, what is it made of? What are those made of? It's like some foam or something.
Starting point is 00:23:01 I have no idea. Yeah, I guess foam. Yeah. It's squishy. Anyway, he was sitting there and everyone's doing their thing. They're like, yeah, they're like cheering. And they go like, if we could just get one more dollar, If we could just get 10 more dollars
Starting point is 00:23:13 That would shift this bag to the side And he goes to me He goes These guys are scam artists And I was just like Yeah I mean that's That's probably what they're doing He's like man if I could quit my job
Starting point is 00:23:28 And do this shit That's fucking do it This man's like if I could just eat mud all day That's what I do But then he goes Luckily I got her That's my sugar mom and then
Starting point is 00:23:43 she was just like hey hello and he's like yeah she's a bartender she gives me the money you know she gets the money I get the money but you know
Starting point is 00:23:52 I don't get all of it obviously well of course yeah and then she gave him $20 and then he raised it up and then Billy came and got it and he's like there you go and Billy was like
Starting point is 00:24:04 thank you sir thank you and he's just like hey no this shit's not USDA approved but whatever and I still don't really know what he meant he said this after he gave Billy the $20
Starting point is 00:24:18 so I don't know if he meant the money wasn't approved the show wasn't approved the mud wasn't USDA so then they started doing their thing they're jumping around and be like blah and he was like whatever and he goes man this shit's better than the movies
Starting point is 00:24:37 last week I fell asleep at that fucking minions movie Wait, so he hated it because it was a scam But he liked it because it was better than minions movie Yes, exactly So understood, understood So all this was building up to his Piece of Resistance quote
Starting point is 00:24:56 At the end Where they're like, yeah, eat the mud And so the judge eats the mud He goes to me and he goes You know that guy probably eats ass and I was like... Honestly, of all the people, I believe all the Mudd brothers are...
Starting point is 00:25:18 Yeah, they, yeah, that checks out. Yeah, after the Renfair, there's probably some crazy shit going on. They are, they've pulled stories on, you know, the forums and the internet. They're like, rentfares get crazy. Yeah, you know the Mudd brothers are doing it. Yeah, there's no doubt.
Starting point is 00:25:33 The Mudd brothers, knowing the people at least, in L.A. who go to rent fares? Yeah. Yeah. I believe it. So yeah, that was that was the end of the show and he's like, alright, buddy, have a good one. And then I never saw that man again. Which, you know, I don't think I want to see him again. But for that moment, it was pretty funny. Yeah, you guys were butts. Yeah. It reminds me, have you ever seen the, um, oh man, I think you should leave
Starting point is 00:26:03 show on Netflix? Mm-hmm. I've seen it. Uh, the, the shirt brother. I only have seen that one. Oh my, they're both wearing the same shirts. They become best friends. But he keeps like telling him more and more and getting him involved in more and more shit. And he's like, but you have my back, right? Shirt brother.
Starting point is 00:26:21 That's how I feel the two of you connected. It's like, he was like, well, this guy's talking to me. So we're best friends right now. Yeah. No, it's definitely one of those things. That's, oh my God. That's like you ever, you ever be at a place where you're getting food or like Starbucks or something. you're just waiting for your thing.
Starting point is 00:26:38 You're just like, I got a coffee. And the person in front of you is like, we've been waiting here 10 minutes. We've been waiting here 10 minutes. And nobody's taking, nobody's giving me my order. And they're like, we're waiting. And then they'll like go to you and be like, am I right? Like, we're waiting. And you're just like, don't get me involved.
Starting point is 00:26:52 Yeah. I don't want to be involved with this. Yes. Yes. Yeah. And it's always some like loud person is just like, yeah. You're got, you guys are behind me, right? And you're like, I don't know you.
Starting point is 00:27:02 Just, I'm just waiting. Yeah. I don't want them to spit in my drink. Thank you. Yeah, so it's like that. But everything else is pretty normal. Renfair walking around, chilling. Shout out to the one dude who works at the board game store.
Starting point is 00:27:18 He's also just like, yo, Crendor. So I know him. Cool guy. But at the end of the show, me and Toaster Woman and Gmart were just talking. And they started doing the thing where they're like, we're closing. So like they start like moving the. like the wall for it. They have like a bunch of guards that have like like floaty tubes that they like essentially are like pushing you out but they're just like keep it moving. It's kind of like
Starting point is 00:27:48 a like a Roman like wall of yeah. Yes. Okay. Yeah, I know exactly what you mean. And they're just yeah, they all link hands and they just force you out. Yeah, exactly. The Disney, the Disneyland method. Yeah, the Disney method. So they're doing that and the entire time this drunk woman was just dancing with everyone. She was like probably in her early 30s like country blonde girl wearing cowboy boots. And she was dancing with just everybody and she's like, yeah, woo. And she was like trying to dance with those people. And they were just like, ma'am, just please keep moving.
Starting point is 00:28:26 And then she gets to the gate and she starts talking to somebody and we just overheard her walking out. And she's just like, I don't even think my husband would like me doing this, but like, whatever. And I was like, holy shit. It's like, all right. Meanwhile, we get to our car. All right.
Starting point is 00:28:45 So we're leaving. There's like no cars left here. There's like barely any. Like we could literally see our car because the cars were all gone around it. And we start going down the road to leave. And she's walking with her like five friends. And they're in the road. All right.
Starting point is 00:29:01 And she stops in the road, looks at our car, starts dancing. and she starts pointing at us and like making hearts. So she was drunk. So you're saying she was drunk. She was wasted. But it's just the irony of after hearing and seeing all this
Starting point is 00:29:22 that she would just be blocking the road, dancing, making hearts. And I was just like, all right, you need to move out of the road. And then she did. I love that. Yeah, okay. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:29:37 Okay, dear. but you just got to keep moving. Yep. So. Oh, you're so cute. Yep, yep. Keep going. Like it feels like that type of thing where she probably has a husband.
Starting point is 00:29:47 That's like the type of guy where he's like, I'm not going to go to the rent fare. I got to work on my AI entrepreneur shit or something. You know what I mean? Like that type of guy or doesn't care. I love the idea of it's his entrepreneurship, but he calls it the entrepreneur shit. And that's amazing. You know, I'm on my entrepreneur shit. You know.
Starting point is 00:30:07 Yeah, it's all AI. Well, of course. By the way, speaking of, I heard the craziest thing today. So I was like run around trying to do some errands this morning. And I was listening to the radio. And on the radio, you know, I was flipping the channels. And I heard a commercial for Duck, Duck, Doe. Now, everyone that I know who uses Duck, Duck Go uses it because it doesn't use AI.
Starting point is 00:30:32 Right? There's no AI anything on it. And it was like, Duck, Dick, Dick, Go. you know, we don't use AI that is intrusive to your life or whatever the fuck the commercial said. At the end it goes, and if you're looking for a chatbot to help you, try duck, duck go AI. I'm like, wait, what? Yep, classic. It was like, it doesn't, it saves none of your chats and will only help.
Starting point is 00:30:57 And I was like, okay, but you literally just had a commercial is like, we will never use AI. And then it's like, try duck, duck, duck, go AI. It was like, irony is dead. I don't, like, I was, what do you mean? Well, this AI is different because it's ours and separate. Of course. Of course. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:31:14 Yeah, no, that's... Yeah, I hate it. There's already too many chatbots for AI. I mean, there's already too much AI in general, but it's like, how does everyone have their own chatbot? The fact that... Well, I think it's because everyone, I'm pretty sure the Duck, Duck, Doe people were probably like everyone else. We have to. People rely on them now.
Starting point is 00:31:35 And not only is it sad that that's actually kind of true for a lot of people, I think I, did I tell you this? Maybe I was talking about on chat. One of my old friends from the teaching days is still a teacher. And he was saying that he had a student breakdown in class and start crying because he was like, it's very clear you use a chat bot to do this assignment. And she's like, well, how else am I supposed to do it? And he was like, read the assigned work.
Starting point is 00:32:04 and then write your own paper on it. That's insane. And she was like in tears and she was like, but I don't understand. And he's like, what that? Yeah. So I genuinely believe some people
Starting point is 00:32:16 really do need it. But what's crazy is that each of them at this point has their own way of speaking. And so it's obvious who is using what. Yeah. It very much is.
Starting point is 00:32:31 And they always do that shit, especially if you hear like a script on YouTube, you can always tell because it has that same type of like, it's not just this, it's this. Oh yeah, Google, it used to be called Bard. I don't know what it's called now, but whatever the Google one is. Yeah, it always gives you three things. So it'll be like, uh, it's this and this and this. It always does threes. Yeah. It's and you can, you can tell because they always have that kind of soulless cadence to them. Yes. What's crazy is I'm like, okay, if you are clearly going to half-ass the work, at least go back through and rewrite it. If you're going to submit a paper, for example. Yeah. Or at least review. Like I saw a guy on Reddit post a book that he bought online. And when he got it, it was like a travel guide to Italy.
Starting point is 00:33:28 And he was like, on this page, it clearly is just the AI. Like, it says at the end. of the thing it says if you want any more information about this like it's the AI prompt is still there they didn't review it I'm like if you're gonna cheat at least do it well like that's it's lazy
Starting point is 00:33:46 yeah that's and I think that's the thing it really boils down to everyone's lazy and so that's why when the girl's crying being like how else am I supposed to do it it's like well you're just lazy because you don't want to use your brain and like actually figure this shit out
Starting point is 00:34:02 and that's what everyone else is doing It's like I could write a guide, but that's too much work. I'm just going to do that. That's all it is. I genuinely don't understand. Yeah, man, I don't get it. I can understand using AI to augment a thing. Right.
Starting point is 00:34:20 But to shut your brain off completely, I'm like, then why are you even engaging in the thing you're trying to do? Yeah. No, that's the thing. People use it for literally everything. It's crazy. Like, genuinely crazy. Yeah. It's very strange.
Starting point is 00:34:34 But that's kind of the, for every time I'm like, why would anyone use it? That's so stupid. I learn so many people use it all the time. Oh, yeah. No, it's, in fact, I would say there's probably more people using it than not using it at this point. If you go out into like the world and ask random people if they use it or not. Yes, there's the one dude, the one, oh, what the hell is that guy's name? The brother.
Starting point is 00:35:02 the writer brother shit I wish I knew more of you the writer brother you know one of the not the right brothers but you know the two there's the two like one's the science nerdy guy and the other one's the writer yeah yeah Hank Green admitted
Starting point is 00:35:20 to heavily relying on generative AI and LMs for video research damn like Hank Green is doing it and he is like everyone thinks of him as like the smart guy.
Starting point is 00:35:35 Yeah. Like, oh wow, yeah, that was only like a couple days ago. That's what I'm saying. That's, oh yeah,
Starting point is 00:35:40 he sets new AI policy for himself and urges other content creators to do the same. And it's, what's crazy is, it's him saying like, oh, I got addicted to, like,
Starting point is 00:35:53 what it could do for me and all. And I think that's, unfortunately, the, a big problem is that he started using it to help him. And then he was just like, it's, it's writing scripts for me.
Starting point is 00:36:04 Yeah, I think it probably is the slippery slope where I think that's probably, it's kind of how AI started where you're like, oh, okay, like you can just have it compiled large amounts of information or find something and you're like, okay, cool. But then once it started, you know,
Starting point is 00:36:21 going crazier and generating and stealing other people's shit, then you're like, um, and then, you know, if you're taking, people always take the path of least resistance. and so it's always going to happen where you're like well you know I used it last time I guess I can use it again they're like oh yeah I bet it was one of those like oh I used it no one noticed I guess I can still use it yeah no it's probably that and then he just kept getting more and more use with it and he kept doing more and more with it sure I can believe that I think it sucks because it's one of those things where it's like all right well you kind of defeat the purpose of your content Yeah. Let's um, the other part is that it's not a, it's not always accurate. Like, like, I remember. That's a lesson. That's a lesson I learned. Oh my God. That's a lesson I learned big time. I told you this, I think, where I was doing research for Tulumadi and I was trying to look up this, uh, one topic I was researching and I googled it. You know how Google does the AI summary. Yeah. It had information. Oh, it was about this website. I was trying to research. It was like one of the first internet. mystery websites where people were like, what is this about? And it wasn't dramatic or like
Starting point is 00:37:38 mysterious. It was just what is this? But the AI summary was talking about like a crazy countdown and this weird thing was going on. And I was like, hold up. What? So I clicked it and I literally asked the AI like, where is this from? What's the reference? And then it was like, oh, I thought it would be more interesting of a story. And I was like, wait. So you made it up. It was like, yeah, you were looking for information on this thing and you kept searching for it and you were trying to write a story so I felt like this would be a compelling story
Starting point is 00:38:08 and I was like but it's not real they're like I know I was like what the hell? So at that point I was like I'm never using this shit if the AI can just make it up I can't trust it yeah no it's oh my god there's something else I was I googled it and the Google AI popped up and was like oh yeah oh I remember it was like I was checking if one sandwich place
Starting point is 00:38:29 was using the lettuce from Taylor Farms, whatever the shitty ass, literally shitty parasite lettuce. And I was just like, is this place use it? And it was like, yes, it does use it. And the only source it listed was like an Instagram reel. And then I was like, what? And I looked around.
Starting point is 00:38:48 And then I typed in the thing like, the only source you listed was an Instagram reel. And it goes, oh yeah. I guess I'm incorrect. And I was like, what? Like, why is this here? Well, I mean, if it's just skimming stuff, it's so, yeah, I don't understand.
Starting point is 00:39:05 There's sometimes where I will go and look for a thing and it will pop up with a thing at the top that absolutely completely gives me the answer immediately. Except now, I am constantly wondering if what I'm seeing is true. Yeah. Which is crazy because in theory, if it was to work well, it would absolutely be like, here's the answer. This is the thing you want.
Starting point is 00:39:28 want. And now I'm like, is, is this thing, oh, I'm just going to scroll down and ignore it completely. Yeah, it's, and I mean, I remember, I was, I was looking online for something with like, I was trying to look up a wow thing. I wasn't trying to use AI. I was just trying to Google, like, what are, what are some, or like, weird vendors in wow to find the wiki? Because that's usually I'll look through the wiki of all the NPCs and stuff. But it popped up and it was like weird vendors and wow. And it was just pulling shit from my other videos that I've made that weren't even weird. It was just doing that. And then it was also like just saying random shit. It'd be like a hog man spaghetti down in Netherstorm. And I'd be like, what the hell is this?
Starting point is 00:40:17 And I would look it up. There's like nothing like that. It was just making shit up. I was like, what? I just, I wish I could. That it's your own videos it's pulling from. Yeah, it was like pulling. I was like Googling shit to find out my own shit that I already made.
Starting point is 00:40:32 Like, is there a way to turn off the AI Google thing or is it just there? There must be. The problem is, is everything so obtuse with chromium stuff? Like, I still have on my desktop on a notepad to this day from two years ago, when my camera, for some reason, across all internet providers, even Internet Explorer, Chrome, Firefox, all of them, because they all have this weird like chromium system, my camera would not work.
Starting point is 00:41:05 It worked in OBS. It worked on like, you know, Skype or whatever. But when going through conference calling or trying to connect to things online, would not work. Literally found out there was an update where they had to, they like switched to a brand new type of camera system within it. So in order to do that, you literally have, I have it written down here, camera issue was, you had to go to Chrome slash slash flags slash a hashtag enable dash media, dash foundation, dash video, dash captor, and then turn it off.
Starting point is 00:41:42 Jesus. And I'm like, how would anyone find that? And I searched the internet and I kept seeing people being like, yo, I'm having this problem, no answers. finally one guy like three weeks later figured it out that's so that's what that's what the back end is oh I have no idea if you can just say I don't want it yeah I mean and if anything they probably make it
Starting point is 00:42:04 like that hard to get rid of like when you try to cancel something and they're just like are you sure loopholes or you have to jump through or whatever but like are you sure really really could be useful you don't do it yeah so That was fun.
Starting point is 00:42:26 But, you know, what is useful? Hey, that's a good one. The last few weeks I've been running around, moving stuff, doing all sorts of things around the office and messing with storage. I've redone my storage three times now. Finally, everything's in there. It feels great. But I certainly didn't want to cook while I was doing all that.

I get why it's listed as one of the most beloved ones on their menu list. Also, I got a chicken pot pie pasta one that has broccoli and cauliflower. That's really good.

Starting point is 00:44:55 It is It's actually kind of clearing up You know We're at the end of summer now Here over in the world Well I guess it depends where you're out in the world In the Western Hemisphere And a lot of people going back to school
Starting point is 00:45:11 So that's gonna You know People will be more crowded during rush hour Because you have people going to school And coming back from school in top of work and stuff, but the actual people being out all the time will probably calm down, so I'm
Starting point is 00:45:23 happy about that because, you know, I'm always driving around at like old senior people hours. So back to you. Thanks, Crendor. Let's go to the weather. Cycling through the weather requests. Ooh, did people leave things
Starting point is 00:45:46 don't spoil me, but do they leave things to say about us? They did end act? They did. In fact. They did in deck. We're all over the place today. Yeah, there's, uh, there's quite a few of them. So if you want to get yours in, go to the previous episode, which is the Jimothy. Put it on this one. I'll send, I'll send some of the team from the office to go find them. All right. Yeah, you can put it on this one as well. So either this one or the Jimothy one and just put your things.
Starting point is 00:46:11 And if you don't know what we're talking about, go listen to the previous episode. Yeah. Yeah. Uh, we. All right. We have landed on Peterhead Scotland. You know what? Scotland once again coming through with some great names. You know what? I'm going to say Scotland and Australia. Hands down, some of my favorite English names for towns and places and restaurants. They're great. Yep. They got some good ones.
Starting point is 00:46:39 We have, in fact, the one we almost landed on was Port Macquarie, Australia. And apparently they got a chubby guy pie bakehouse or something here. Love it. Love it. They say, Peterhead Scotland, if that's cool with you guys. Though at a glance, we might not look like much. We have a pretty interesting history in a number of claims to fame. If you'd like to read some of the facts, here are some. Bram Stoker began writing Dracula while he was living in a nearby village,
Starting point is 00:47:04 and the local New Slane's Castle may have given him inspiration for the visuals of the titular character's castle. I do see that, yeah. They are the oldest fishing port for whitefish in Europe. Their old prison, which is now a museum, was once regarded as Scotland. toughest prison and during World War II, Peterhead, was the second most bomb settlement in the UK behind London. Oh my God. Follow me. It does have some like really, the old St. Peter's Church, that looks super interesting.
Starting point is 00:47:38 The Peterhead Townhouse, like that one looks like, it's such a weird building because the first floor, maybe the entrance looks modern. And then the higher up it goes, it looks older and older. I've never seen anything like that. Oh, yeah, interesting. Currently, 55 degrees Fahrenheit. Feels like 51, high of 66, low 52. Chance of rain, 30%. We are at a 14 mile an hour in west-northwest wind.
Starting point is 00:48:14 79% humidity. 25 on the air quality, 49 on the dew point, 29.9.9.9.1 inches. of pressure, 10 miles, visibility, 521 a.m. sunset. 9.01 p.m. sun, or wait, no, sunrise. It's not setting at 5 a.m. sunset, 9 p.m. And a waning crescent moon phase. 10 day.
Starting point is 00:48:39 We got Monday, partly cloudy, windy, windy, 59 degrees. Tuesday, cloudy, 61 degrees. Wednesday, partly cloudy, 70. Thursday, PM showers, 71, Friday, 55. percent chance of showers and 66 degrees, partly cloudy on Saturday, 63, Sunday 61 p.m. showers Monday, a.m. showers, 62
Starting point is 00:49:00 degrees. Yo, it was like my favorite weather. Like low 60s with rain. I'm sure that, uh, I'm sure that will change dramatically as the year goes on. Oh, absolutely. No doubt. Oh, shit. Yeah, it will. I scrolled out.
Starting point is 00:49:16 I didn't realize how far north this was. Oh yeah. This is, this is pretty up there. I had a lot of questions about the way things were designed and we'll talk about it but like whoa, okay, yeah, all right, it's cold. Yeah, no, it's...
Starting point is 00:49:33 Or it will be cold. They're on par with like Northern Denmark and Southern Norway. Let's see. What they got? They got the boat house. Most of the places here, if you look at the buildings, Yep.
Starting point is 00:49:52 Everything kind of has the vibe of it is a house that they put a sign above it to say that it's a restaurant. Dude, everyone, the dolphin cafe, that's just the house. Magic coffee. Yep, every single one. Marmaris looks like a, I mean, like, it just looks like a home with a thing of, Chico's Peterhead. Shout to Chico's. Just like, everything is, like, everywhere.
Starting point is 00:50:19 The kebab house That's just like a It looks like an apartment Uh Oriental City I'm trying to see Nope actually Oriental City Kind of looks like a restaurant
Starting point is 00:50:31 standalone restaurant Oh yeah I see I see Yeah Oh yeah That's uh That does look more like an actual restaurant Their symposium
Starting point is 00:50:41 Which looks like an outdoor coffee place That kind of looks a little lovely But yeah Most of them look like it's just a dude's home which I think says quite a great deal about like how far and you know every time we look at a place
Starting point is 00:50:56 that's like it's Iceland or something and you know it's going to be a lot of snow they don't really build up yeah that's true uh I guess wait fish book that looks like an office building
Starting point is 00:51:12 what the hell yeah he's just got hot dogs what oh man I saw a place and now I've lost it Oh, Crendor was perfect
Starting point is 00:51:22 Oh Okay A little bit Where would that be? Southwest Like almost more south than west Is the tavern These are some of my favorite images
Starting point is 00:51:38 I've ever seen There is one image of a woman with a glowing mouth And I love it Oh yeah What is What the hell? Everything about this. It really does.
Starting point is 00:51:51 Everything about this is, if you look at the way this building looks, it screams coming from the snow. Oh yeah. That definitely does. That is, this is like an old-time medieval, like a fish shack or something. Yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:52:16 Wow. This is, yeah, it's crazy how north this actually is. I thought this was kind of just on the east coast. No, dude, this is like, this is kind of the last stop. There should be a place called the last stop here. It's probably up further in like, I don't know, Wic or somewhere, like way up north. Oh, yeah, probably. There's a place called John O'Grote's.
Starting point is 00:52:43 John O'Grote's. Love it. John O'Grote's. Groats has a restaurant called spicy groats. I don't know. And it's literally a shack. It's a shack and they serve Indian food? I love the world.
Starting point is 00:53:00 I love it. You know what? I love it. You're telling me on the ass end of Scotland in a place called John O' Groats is a place called spicy groats. Spicy groats. Amazing.
Starting point is 00:53:14 Amazing. You got to have your spicy groats. They even have a deli out in the middle of nowhere called, it called, called Taste. And their Wall of Fame is just people who managed to get there with their dogs. Honestly, fantastic. Do you look at the refuge cafe? No. The refuge cafe.
Starting point is 00:53:35 I went way far north. Are we back? All right. This is by the water, northeast of McDonald's. Peterhead. Northeast of McDonald's. By the water. Okay.
Starting point is 00:53:44 Yeah, by the water. South of Symposium. coffee house lido. Uh-huh. There is the refuge cafe and it looks like a prison. Yo. It really, it really does. Is it built into like an old fishing thing?
Starting point is 00:54:07 I don't know. Even as barred windows. Like, was this a prison? That is. I don't even know, but they're just serving like. Yes, it must have been because one of the menu items is called the chain gang. Oh my God, it was a prison then.
Starting point is 00:54:23 The kids menu is called Young Offenders. Oh, yes, it was a prison. That could be all our political figures. Why not combine a fascinating historical experience with delicious locally sourced food? The Refuge Cafe, the Peterhead Prison Museum. So it's a museum. Yeah, they say 80% of their food is locally supplied. Damn, that's pretty cool.
Starting point is 00:54:46 Pretty good. That's pretty good. Yeah. Look at that. That's a fun little. ice. Yeah. Peterhead. That's the weather. All right, let's go to sports. Sports. We got sports. We got some. B. B. B. Bada. Let's see. NFL. Dude, we're starting up NFL. Very excited. We had our first preseason game. It was the Cardinals and the Panthers. And the third string Panther players beat the third string cardinal players.
Starting point is 00:55:20 So it was honestly a pretty good game for being really mediocre gameplay. Or, you know, football. Well, not football, but football. Then we had some basketball stuff. Actually, no, we didn't. We're not in basketball season. We had WNBA, though. We did.
Starting point is 00:55:41 How's the WNBA doing? Minnesota links in first place with the Golden State Valkyries. I just want to say, I was unaware that. And the WNBA, they just beat each other up. Oh, yeah, I've seen some of those. I was unaware that that's a thing. It is like hockey. They're slamming into each other, like pushing each other down.
Starting point is 00:56:06 And it's all the teams do it. Yeah. No, I saw that. I got a Crendor. Now that I know that, I kind of'm like, yes. Yeah, all right. I'm into it now. Yeah, no, there's some crazy shit.
Starting point is 00:56:20 going on over there. Like they're bumping into each other, like choking people. Like it's actually pretty wild. Yeah, I couldn't believe it. I was like, wait a minute. So instead of like, you know, slam dunks, they're just dunking on people. I was like, okay, all right. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:56:40 So they got the Minnesota links in first, Golden State Valkyrie, second, Las Vegas, ACE's third, and the Indiana fever fourth. over there. Then in baseball. We got the final month of baseball, actually. We're getting close to the playoffs. We got the Tampa Bay Rays in first. We got the White Sox in first, the Astros in first,
Starting point is 00:57:04 the Braves in first, the Brewers in first, and the Dodgers in first, although the Dodgers did lose eight of their last 10 games. So they're kind of sputtering. Although it's baseball. Eight of the last ten means nothing in the grand scheme of things. Oh, yeah, absolutely not. It all just depends who's hot at the end.
Starting point is 00:57:23 Any other, any other sport, that would be huge. You'd be like, oh, God. They're like, we're just resting our players. Yeah, well, or they're in a cold streak, and they're like, man, nobody can hit. And then it'll, like, three weeks from now, they'll be like, oh, they all remembered how to play baseball again. You're like, oh, okay. So we'll see what happens there. And sports.
Starting point is 00:57:47 All right. What is our big fact of the day? Big fact of the day, day, day. Uh, we have... Okay, wait, these are... All right, these are both good. We're getting two facts. A New York City restaurant sells a $2,700 pizza. It's just like that gold steak can all
Starting point is 00:58:18 the other crap. Sure. All right. Okay. So we have a restaurant located in New York City's South Street Seaport holds the Guinness World Record for offering the world's most expensive pizza. So they did this just to get the record. Yeah, cool. You have to order two days in advance.
Starting point is 00:58:34 It's topped with 24-carat gold leaves, of course. Stilton blue cheese, Hudson Valley Fogra, Platinum, Ocetera, Caviar, French Paragord Truffle, and the Almas caviar, which is optional for an extra 700.
Starting point is 00:58:52 Is there a photo of this because it sounds disgusting? Uh, let's see, there's gotta be. They show the restaurant in here, but... Oh, yep, there it is. Uh, it, I mean... Hold on, let me just... Like this, yeah, okay, there you go. Uh-huh.
Starting point is 00:59:15 Yeah. Yeah. Like that's the type of shit. It's not like unappetizing, but it also, I don't know why you would buy this. It just looks like a pizza, but with the gold shit on it. Yeah, yeah. It doesn't look unappetizing, but it doesn't look appetizing if that makes any sense. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:59:38 This is probably the type of shit they made. So TikTok, Instagram, people go there and go like, you won't believe what I just ate today. It is a $2,700. pizza that I just ordered and it's the most expensive pizza that you can get in the world in New York City. Literally if you go $2,700 pizza on Google and then go to images, there's a YouTube video of some guy ordering it. There's right underneath that, a girl with photos of it. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 01:00:07 There's already videos of people with this pizza. Yep. It's literally just to get publicity. So now we know that, but now we can go to the fun fact. Okay. A bear became a corporal in World War II. Is this a Russia thing? I hope it's a Russia thing. Here's a captivating fact about animals during World War II.
Starting point is 01:00:28 Members of the Polish Army's 22nd artillery supply adopted a bear cove named Wojhtek. The soldiers looked out for him and even gave him a rank of private. In 1944, Wosteck returned the favor, helping to move ammunition during the Battle of Montefiq. casino in Italy. Oh man, I'm so depressed. I thought you're about to tell me that it was like, he helped return the favor by taking down six Nazis himself and saving the battalion. I was like, yo, let's go.
Starting point is 01:01:00 He took out Mussolini himself. That's incredible. For Wojhtek's service and bravery, he was promoted to the rank of corporal. I got to feel bad for the guys who weren't. That's true. Like some dude who made it out of the war, he's still a private, and he's like, they promoted the bear. Yeah. That just reminds me of the Simpsons episode with Frank Grimes, where he's just, Mr. Burns hires the dog instead of Frank Grimes to be his side game.
Starting point is 01:01:33 But honestly, you know what? Good for Wojhtek the bear. He's a hide corporal. Yeah, I like that guy. Rip King. Yeah. That's your fact. Facts of the day.
Starting point is 01:01:48 Well, who has come to us with tears in their eyes? We've got tears. Dear Lesterouss, I beseech thee with tears in my eyes and a fewer hairs upon my head yearly. What was your favorite cartoon or anime you watched growing up? Ooh, I can't say anime because when I grew up, anime was like in the back section of the stores of the mall. And they were like, you shouldn't look at that. It's dangerous. So I never watched anime.
Starting point is 01:02:21 Although I remember when I saw Akira for the first time and it like blew my mind. And I genuinely was like, that's scary. But when I was a kid, I would always make sure to watch. It depends on what age I was. There was a time of my life where I would watch like Keman and I would watch Ninja Turtles religiously. and then things like Dino Sossers which I love those guys
Starting point is 01:02:49 but you know it was also Tiny Tune Adventures and Animaniacs and stuff like that and then eventually I'm trying to think like obviously Doug
Starting point is 01:03:05 some of the Nickelodeon shows Renton Stimpy Yep but yeah that's what I watched Yeah Because I mean, that's probably me too. If I'd pick favorites, it's probably going to end up being like SpongeBob or the Simpsons.
Starting point is 01:03:21 If I had to like truly pick one. See, that's the difference. That's the difference in our ages is that for me, SpongeBob was out when I was in high school. Yeah. And so we, we, oh man, it's so funny. SpongeBob fell into the exact same place as the Power Rangers. And that we would watch it. but talk about it like we were doing it ironically.
Starting point is 01:03:48 Yeah. But we were clearly watching it. We were in line to see the Power Rangers movie. And we were like, isn't it so funny? We're here watching The Power and we love that movie. Yeah. So you're like, it's weird that we would like this as, you know,
Starting point is 01:04:02 grown up kids, but. Yes, yes. We as adults. Yeah, yeah, exactly. But we got to watch it to see it to make fun of it, of course. That's what's so funny about it. Yeah. It's like baby.
Starting point is 01:04:13 shit, yeah, yeah, exactly. Yeah. I mean, I watch like Rugrats. You ever watch Bobby's World? I did watch Bobby's World. Yes, I still to this day, remember
Starting point is 01:04:29 the terrible joke that his name was Bobby generic. Or generic, but everyone called him generic. Yeah, yeah. And that was the joke. That was the joke. Is his last name was generic. That's... I still can't believe that was
Starting point is 01:04:43 the thing that ran the entire show. That's a terrible joke. That is, that's definitely one of the jokes of all time. I like Rocco's Modern Life. That was one of my favorites. And what a Pinky in the brain?
Starting point is 01:05:01 Sure, yeah, but that was Animaniacs. That's bad, yeah, that's Animaniacs. Hey Arnold. Arthur. I love the Arthur. Oh my God. Yeah, PBS, dude. I loved, even As, like, the older I got, I still would watch PBS, mostly to fall asleep to after school.
Starting point is 01:05:20 PBS was great. They just gave you that free programming constantly, free kids programs. You know, you watch your Arthur, you watched. I remember you ever watch Zoom? I watched Zoom. Dude, send it to Zoom. Oh, two, one, three, four. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 01:05:34 Come on now. Come on and Zoom. Come on and Zoom. Oh, yeah. Email, send it to Zoom. Or is email. You call it to Zoom. Oh yes, I'm aware.
Starting point is 01:05:46 Kids today, they don't got Zoom. They don't got Zoom. But literally Zoom was pre-Utube. It was, yeah, pre-Utube. It is everything that happens on YouTube happened on Zoom. Yeah. They really did. They just show you how to, like, do fun things.
Starting point is 01:06:04 Yeah, they had like arts and crafts. They had cooking. They had skits. They had little acting things. They had challenges. Everything that happens on YouTube was Zoom. Yeah, it really was. And you didn't have really annoying people popping up being like,
Starting point is 01:06:20 I'm going to show you the dead mess. Yes, yeah, yeah. It was like, it was PBS, so everyone was super chill. Yeah, those were, those are good times. I hope all those kids went on to have wonderful lives. Yeah, I'm sure they did. And none of them had anything bad. I hope they're good.
Starting point is 01:06:40 So yeah, there we go. That's that one. I wouldn't really say I'd like a favorite one per se, but like I would watch them. I would watch all of them. The thing is, is looking back, maybe except for animaniacs, which is still to this day, phenomenal show. Right. Not many of them hold up. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:07:01 But as a kid, you don't care. You enjoy it because it's like colorful and fun and it's got goofs. I will say the first three seasons of SpongeBob extremely hold up. Oh, are perfect. They're really well done. It's almost like those people cared. Yes. It's like during the historic run of the Simpsons
Starting point is 01:07:18 where it's like every episode was a banger. Yeah, absolutely. Some of them are amazing. It's, oh my God, Spiko. I watched a thing with one of the old writers from The Simpsons and he was talking about how he invented the clip that became the meme of steamed hams. And he was talking about how they kept making these little fun shorts.
Starting point is 01:07:41 And they were like, we should just do an entire episode of shorts. And he's like, I kept being like, I want the principal Skinner one. And he's like, I got it. And I was so happy. And he's like, all I knew is every time principal Skinner would talk to superintendent Schalmers, he would tell a lie. And it would just be kind of like some whatever lie.
Starting point is 01:07:57 And he'd be like, see more. Are you being serious? And he's like, yes. So they'd be like, all right. And he's like, I wonder how far I could push that. And he's like, I just started writing like the dumbest shit and just making like the craziest lies. And he's like, before I knew it, I created that episode. episode for that whole skit. That's amazing. Yeah, and he's like, I didn't even know steamed
Starting point is 01:08:16 hams are a thing. I just made it up. And he's like, people are like, no, steam hams are real. And Utica. Right. No, of course. So that was pretty fun. But you can even tell, just listening to them that they're like actual like writers that were like, like they're comedian guys, like Conan O'Brien and all them. Yes. Yeah. Um, yes. Next up. We got, Dear Lustria, sirs, with a tear in my eye, this is the greatest moment of my life. Oh. If you had your own pro wrestling persona, what would it be and what would be your finishing move? Hmm.
Starting point is 01:08:58 I would be the red rooster. All right. I'd wear a luchador mask that has like a rooster beak on it. And my finishing move would be the wake-up call. Oh, that's a good one. The wake-up call. That is a good one. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:09:15 Yeah. Like, he's going on the wake-up call, JR! Yeah, yeah, yeah. And before you do it, you have to be like, cockado doodoo. Yeah, oh, yeah, I flap my arms and everything. Oh, yeah. And then I jump off.
Starting point is 01:09:28 I climb to the top rope. I go, cock-a-d-do-do-do-do. And then I jump off the rope and do, like, a move to you. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Done, easy. That's a good one. Thank you. Yeah, I don't know what mine would be.
Starting point is 01:09:40 It would. I would want to be like a really, like everyone would be like I was sloth or whatever, but I'd want to be like some really obscure, like weird animal persona. Okay. Wrestling thing. Like, what's a, what's a weird random animal? What's that, what's that, what's that tiny? What's that tiny monkey or whatever it is?
Starting point is 01:10:07 Like, not a lemur, whatever. That's like the huge eyes and the big hands. I know what you mean. Really tiny whatever that thing's called. Yeah, that's um Oh my god, what is that? Hold on. I I can see it here as don't see the the name of it. Let's see. It is a Why's not to say what it is?
Starting point is 01:10:30 It didn't be viral. Okay, just it looks like a porcupine but has bird like be? Wait, no, is this it? Hold on, I'm about to find it. It should be here. There it is. It is the Uh, horse fields tarsierre. Yes, yes, yes, yes. Yes. Yeah, he's got like big web feet and hands, big eyes.
Starting point is 01:10:54 Yep. Yeah, I would, I would be, I would be the Tarsier. All right. Ooh, uh, there's got to be a way to combine the word terror with Tarsier. Oh, the terrier. That's it. That's the one. And what is your maneuver? What do you do? Uh, let's see, hold on, what does he do?
Starting point is 01:11:16 It says, large bulging eyes, tiny body, eerily long fingers. You've made it to the horse field tar sierra target for the poachers pet trade. Oh, it's sad. And they're also facing habitat laws. Uh, well, that's not fun. Uh, but wait, hold on. Is he a monkey? I, I can't tell if it's a rat or a monkey.
Starting point is 01:11:38 I don't know what this thing actually is. Uh, it says, About facts. They gotta have it under facts. Let's see. New England primate conservatory. Native to Malaysia, Indonesia. They hunt insects, frogs, snakes.
Starting point is 01:12:01 Uh, wide mouths allow them to consume prey that they're large, that are large for their small size. Amazing, but... Yeah, I don't... I'm not... I'm not really describing what the thing is. About monkey, is it? They got no,
Starting point is 01:12:20 no, nothing that says monkey. Although this is the New England primate conservatory. So it has to be like, I think it is a monkey then. So you got to have like, maybe like monkey in around or, uh, you know, like, uh, I don't know, it's got to be something. Yeah, I mean, he does have like the, the big sticky hands and fingers. Maybe I'd be like night crawler in that aspect. Sure.
Starting point is 01:12:48 Okay. Right? Yeah. And so maybe my thing is I'm stealth. Oh, that's it. I like, nobody even sees me coming. I was like, you know how there'll be a fight between people and some other guy will just show up? You're the guy who's been hiding under the ring the entire time.
Starting point is 01:13:04 Yeah. You never know and I'll show up. It'll just be random. And there's like, oh, he's coming out. And I'll just like crawl up and then just like, uh, I guess he, They got large mouths to devour stuff. I'll just essentially devour someone. They'll be on the ground and I'll just like wrap them up
Starting point is 01:13:20 and then just like slam them down and then like crawl back away. That's good. I like this. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. There we go. We got there. And that's the dear illustrious serves.
Starting point is 01:13:35 All right. What is our big news story of the day? Big new story of the day. day. This is kind of a weird one. 162-year-old Guinness bottle found in shipwreck that could reveal original recipe. Oh, interesting. I wasn't aware there was a different recipe.
Starting point is 01:13:59 I wasn't either. Scientists are hoping to recreate the taste of Guinness as it was brewed in the 1860s after a diver discovered a 162-year-old bottle from a shipwreck off the coast of England. The bottle, which dates back to 1864, was discovered by Belgian underwater photographer, Stefan Pinnus. Pynus. His name is not Stefan Pinas. That's for sure. It's P-A-N-I-S. Painous? Why? When you say it like that, I almost believe that's how you say it. I don't like it.
Starting point is 01:14:37 Pinesis? Imagine being in school, he was like, uh, Stefan Painis. Pinesis? Painous here? Paineous present? Is there a penis here? While exploring a wreck off Dover. Researchers are now analyzing its contents to see if they can recover DNA from the beer to produce an authentic recreation of the original stout.
Starting point is 01:15:03 Painis found the bottle buried beneath the seabed while diving with friend Eddie Huzzi. It wasn't until they surfaced. and rinsed it off that the Guinness branding became visible. He believes the bottle is part of a full case of 24, with many more potentially still hidden beneath the surrounding sand. Following the discovery, samples from the bottle were sent to microbiologists at KU Lovin University in Belgium. Quote, there's always a chance that we can recover the complete DNA
Starting point is 01:15:33 and then we do a small re-brew of the exact beer that was found in the 1860s. If researchers are successful, could allow them to recreate Guinness exactly as it was brewed, back over 160 years ago in a rare glimpse into the history of one of the world's most famous beers. There's a possibility that it's still drinkable. The question is if the seawater is coming
Starting point is 01:15:52 through the bottle, through the corks, explains. There's no, no, there's no way it would be drinkable because, like, the hops or whatever and it deteriorates. That's like why, whatever, like, I don't know. There's the reason why it gets, like, if you have a beer
Starting point is 01:16:10 and it's been in your fridge a while, it just like after if it's been there a year or whatever it tastes like ass yeah I mean it might still be drinkable but it'll taste like guys I guess you're right I guess you're right it would be drink legally probably drinkable but not good legally like if you drink it they're gonna arrest you sir did you just try to drink that old beer yeah come with me
Starting point is 01:16:34 that is bottled by Cameron Saunders of London beer was sent over wait what Oh, in an Instagram post, PANIS said, We sent the bottle photos to the official Guinness Club and brewing historian Edward Bork dropped this atomic info. That is bottled by Cameron Saunders of London. Beer was sent over in butts for bottling locally.
Starting point is 01:16:58 There is something about keeping the bottles upside down is found because seawater, Ingris, won't happen in that position. Lour from the Scotch wreck on Rathlin. Finding them upside down was the single single single. secret to survival. Edwards cited the SS Lockgarry wreck in 1942. Upright bottles were ruined. Upside down bottles stayed perfect because the trapped air bubbles
Starting point is 01:17:21 create a pressurized barrier blocking seawater. Although he admitted he isn't particularly big on Guinness, he said he would happily try the historic stout if they determined it was safe to drink. A spokesperson for Guinness said, discoveries like this provide a fascinating window into our past that help build deeper understanding of our heritage. Cool. The company added that its Guinness Archive team
Starting point is 01:17:45 is working with divers together more information and evaluate the discovery. There we go. That's pretty neat. So there was an auction in March 2017 for, because I was trying to figure out like, how much would stuff like this be worth? Not the same, clearly,
Starting point is 01:18:02 but from an estimate between 1910 and 1920s, a recovered bottle, it sold for basically $221. Here's what I'll say, though. If this was a normal beer on a shelf, it looks like a beer you would buy simply because of the label. Here you go.
Starting point is 01:18:22 Oh, shit, yeah, that's actually awesome. It's a good label. That's a good label. Is that cat have five feet? Oh, wait, no, that's a thing it's sitting on. Yeah, it's got like a little chain around his neck. Cat brand. Yeah, that shit's wild.
Starting point is 01:18:40 They need more labels like that. Yeah. Like old-timey pirate labels. It really does have sort of like a rum vibe to it, but it's clearly just Guinness. Yeah. Damn, that's pretty cool. I was unaware you could just auction off old bottle. Yeah, dude.
Starting point is 01:18:57 Wow. They have a whole website of, of whiskey auctions. Oh my God, yeah. Past auctions. This one for a Japanese whiskey made 2026, $7,000. All these are in the thousands. What the hell? Yeah.
Starting point is 01:19:17 Damn. These must be whiskeys that I would never drink. Oh, yeah. This is for like millionaires and richer. Yeah, one of these is Dalmore. I remember, I'm not sure how you say that. But I remember one time I was at a con or something. This guy was drinking.
Starting point is 01:19:33 He's like, I only drink the best. You want one? I was like, yes. And he got me one of these. And it was delicious, but also like, that was like a $50 shot. And I was like, my man, I don't necessarily feel like it was worth it to give it to me. I won't appreciate it like you will. And he's like, ah, I'm watching forever though.
Starting point is 01:19:50 Like, okay. All right. That's like the only time. I'm not going to say no to this experience. The only time I've ever had whiskey is when other people are like, try this whiskey. It was like, there's one guy I knew he was like really in the whiskey and he was like, try this like $100 Japanese whiskey. Try this other crazy like $80 whiskey.
Starting point is 01:20:07 And I remember at Coxcon, there's like one person there and they're like, I have this like $300 whiskey and they're just like letting everyone try it. So like that's really the only time I ever do it is if someone else is like, hey, look at this. Yeah, I never feel like I should be the one to try your really expensive whiskey. Because I don't, I'm not going to be like you where I'm like with wine, right? Detect the notes of this or that. I'm like, well, it certainly was whiskey, you know? You sound like the SpongeBob or it doesn't get water. Yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 01:20:42 It's fascinating to look at this stuff. I'm seeing stuff here that's like, yeah, no, this whiskey is, there's only six of them made. I'm like, okay, but I shouldn't be the one you share it with. That's a terrible choice. Yeah, that's, that is cool, though. But, yeah, wow. Also, I just want to say that. It has a, at the bottom, there's multiple other articles.
Starting point is 01:21:10 And there's an article that says, man tries to beat 40-year-old record by sitting in baked beans for four days. You know, there's probably a reason that that's a 40-year-old record. But like, all right. Sport. Do your thing. There's definitely a reason. So I just wanted to mention that one.
Starting point is 01:21:33 I'm glad you. You know what I'm glad you did? It was needed. Big news story of the day. All right. Well, that's it for us. Thanks so much for listening and watching. I'm going to join this podcast. Crendor, Adam with the Socials. We've got socials.
